"This was coming the way I found out about it. Because I was sitting at my computer around nine twenty five, and I get an Email from small legal team saying we have an emergency court hearing and. Small attorneys are going to be speaking afterwards. So I rushed to the courthouse. My initial thinking, maybe he has something that he wants to go out of the country for trying to get special permission or something of that nature. This was really unexpected. So the thought is is that since he's a first time offender with a lot of this stuff. He would basically only get community service, and he has already done a lot of stuff for the community before. So they're just going to kind of call it, even and let him go. The assistant state's attorney Joe mega to was made the decision to drop the charges at the end of it said that you know, he didn't find any problems with the investigation, but they're not necessarily exonerating him. They just don't see he's a threat to public safety. So this is the easy way to go. But the judge signed emotion to seal the case and wipe his record clean. So it is like he's getting off on this. It's unusual. I know that you might be a little bit more of a celebrity than I am in the radio business. But if this happened to me, I don't think I'd be treated in such a matter. And that's what's atypical about the situation as the police departments doubting. It's not too often that innocent people for go their bond money. It's not typical for a situation go away in this manner, especially it tasted so high profile and the importance of why prosecuting this case is because you want hate crime victims to come forward when something happens and this is questionable and they're saying, they're not exonerate him. But at the same time small at and saying, I was on the level at every single point in this case. So there's no admission of culpability beyond saying. Yeah, I'll give you my ten thousand dollars to make this go away and his attorney Patricia Brown home said this was not part of a plea deal or anything like that just trying to make it more clear that he is off on these charges. So it's not like, hey, we just cut a deal. He's admitting guilt. This is the very murky territory right there, and it just have to ask what about all of the stuff that? Happened during the investigation. There's video of these two brothers who even Patricia Brown homes admitted that they beat him up that they beat up jussie smollet for. She said it in her statement today who knows are they going to be charged with anything. Now, they testified to the grand jury. They have video of them buying for this. What do we do with all this evidence? I think nothing is the short answer. This doesn't go any further, and what we've seen, and you know, they were forthcoming what their testimony by ten went from being suspects. People of interest to witnesses by providing police without testimony. Police say they believe that testimony. The other weird part of this beyond not giving the heads up to police, but they were the prosecutors were dropping this case, usually courtesy when you're prosecuting the case, and you drop it to witnesses of the crime. No witnesses were notified that. The prosecutors were going forward with the transparency with a little weird I found out because small let's team wanted to make. Sure reporters were there to hear him proclaimed his innocence afterwards, Rahm Emanuel said that this is a whitewash of Justice and said that there was a problem from top to bottom that this is not on the level early on in this. The state's attorney Kim, FOX recused herself. From the case. Did we ever find out why she recused herself? Yes, we did. She had some conversations with a family member who's never identified. Mullet. Who wanted the FBI to take over investigation of the case and asked her if she could intervene and another person who started that conversation with Tina Chen, who's a prominent Chicago attorney, but it's probably more familiar to your audiences. She was the chief of staff during the Obama administration years to the first lady, Michelle Obama..

"Show. Jay Markley David van camp. There sky Robbins, Jesse spots. Lawyer says this has nothing to do with political national the case being dropped with with this case being dropped a lot of people are confused, and we can't help. But remember that the former chief of staff from shell Obama and a member of small it's family both were in contact with the state's attorney who said she recused herself after these conversations about maybe getting the case moved somewhere else. Saying boy that would help us out that would be real great. If you get that done. She said, she recused herself. That's still up in the air about whether or not that really happened to move it. I'll do you want better. How about all charges, right? Jesse's lawyer Patricia Brown Holmes was on CNN and asked whether anyone made a call, you know, to to maybe get her to reconsider charging Jesse. There was no political influence in this case. There were there were a team of lawyers. I was one of the members of that team. I did my job on my end of this matter. They did their jobs. We all collectively worked on this case researched every single detail in every single fact, we communicated with the state's attorneys, and we convinced them that the right thing to do in. This case was to dismiss the charges. No, one political call that. I know of I don't think anyone political reached out to anyone. I don't think they would have allowed anyone political to reach out to them. Okay. So the state's attorney Kim FOX, quote recused herself. Okay. Yeah. So it was the assistant that came out and said, yeah, we think he's guilty. Yes. We all think he's innocent. But we've decided to drop the charges. And why was that because he had done some stuff with Jesse Jackson? Yeah. And also didn't have a history of violent crime. They're trying to focus on violent crime in the city of Chicago. And he says, hey, we've done this for fifty seven hundred cases in recent years, where there's not threat to the public, and blah, blah, blah. You know, the thing is though with a high profile case like this that doesn't make sense because not all cases are created equal. And if you have a high profile case like this, what message are you sending it's fine by us in the city of Chicago. If you fake a hate crime unbelievable. There was a threat to the public though. While you've got all these officers working on this case other crimes were taking place threatening the community. Yes. That is true. Shut up. Well, and then okay. So who is still out there? Committing hate crimes because no one's been charged with that. So what's the deal? Who is it is it the two American Nigerian brothers. Vince McMahon just signed. Is it them? Or is it to other people? I don't know. And Jesse said he was always telling the truth. But he said at least one of them was white. Right. So is that a case of Whiteface? We don't know. I don't know if it was that or an angelic glow. I'm still confused on that one to go with the Anjali glow. I like that right blinded by the street lights. Did breath. So I love that lawyers speak, right? There of there was a team of lawyers and she did her job. There's a lawyer, and then they collectively did their job, and they researched it like crazy. And from that they were able to persuade the state's attorney's office to drop it. So you're saying the team of lawyers for the defendant has more sway than the police department with the evidence or sounds like it apparently. Yes, who is buying this crap? Oh my gosh. Ran and where does it go? How long before we find out? There is an investigation into this a federal investigation not just about what Jesse may or may not have mailed to himself. But how this whole thing has been hand. Well, I think the important part too with this is that if they're willing to do that for Jesse small at what else has been going on in the in Cook County, it's not even just about Jesse small at. But if you feel like there are favors being done to let this guy off the hook who else is getting some favors. It wouldn't be beyond Chicago politicians to be leading some friends. Go right. Well, I mean, yes, it has that whole. Of being corrupt. Well, it's it's a culture problem there. There's no doubt. Or you know, who else, you know, thinks they're going to be able to walk down. "I'm Jerry, he's Eric. He has the morning off. I wanna play this audio cut one more time. Because actually, there's two lies Patricia Brown homes. The attorney for Jesse small at said this the two brothers have said that they attacked him. So, you know. We don't want to try them in the press anymore than he wanted to try to now as a as I said, the one lie by picked up immediately was when he said, well, I've been truthful all along. Well, if you're saying it was the brothers who attacked you. They're not white. But the other lie is the brothers never said the attack them that's a lie by the attorney for brothers said that they were involved in a conspiracy wasn't an attack. It was a staged attack. It was a conspiracy that he led. So the attorney outright lied to start it off. Just amazing. I mean, I just. The the brothers cooperating with the cooperating witnesses with the police they they were involved in the conspiracy. They didn't attack him. I mean, it's just unbelievable. I wanna play this audio here. Another a piece of audio. This is from wolf Blitzer last night on CNN with Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago. So you say that a grand jury could not have been clearer in its indictment of Jesse smollet. Having only seen a sliver of the evidence. Or how do you explain this truly dramatic reversal tonight?.

"Nigel. I haven't heard a police officer that ticked off in Chicago. Since that officer that had to go to Clark Griswold house and investigate the boss. Not giving up the bonuses. Mr. Hose, I would be too. All happening in Chicago. The last time I saw Chicago cop that mad was on Christmas vacation. Now, the president of the F O P the fraternal order of police in Chicago. He's now thinking about having the feds look into the situation last week. Even before the situation that unfolded yesterday occurred. We felt that the text messages between the states attorney's office, Kimberly, FOX and a private attorney in Los Angeles. Were really unprecedented and needed investigation. And so we send a letter last week to the US attorney in the northern district of Illinois to ask for a investigation with John Lynch. We haven't heard anything yesterday. I hand delivered the letter to the federal building here in Chicago to make sure that they understood more serious with double down on our efforts. We are. We are interested in having the federal authorities look into what occurred here because we're baffled by what has happened. That's the president of the F O P in Chicago. Now, one of jesse's small let's lawyers Patricia Brown homes went on with Don lemon on CNN last night. Don lemon. Let's get it right now. Don lemon. I apologize. And I will say this for Don I ripped on all the time. He's been dubbed the dumbest man on television by Donald Trump, which I have backed up and supported that claim. He was asking the right questions last night. You Patricia Brown homes, the lawyer for Jesse at the people who dropped the charges are saying am I wrong. They're saying that he's guilty. I explicitly today. I did not hear you say that he was not guilty. You said this is the best way to bring. Guilty. Nobody has found him guilty. He's not guilty. He is innocent. Okay. No have a prosecutor who said he thinks that he's guilty. Now how that is proper. I don't know. Because in our judicial system, the prosecutors view an opinion means nothing. It is the jury's view an opinion that matters grand jury, or any case isn't a grand jury weren't. They the ones that brought the sixteen charges. The grand jury a grand jury. Well, a grand jury did not find him guilty agree and jury found that there was probable cause. That was the attorney for jussie smollet on Don lemon last night on CNN. And just when you think you've heard it all this morning on good Morning, America. Jesse small. That's other lawyer told George Stephanopoulos now, they're considering suing the police department. You've said clearly, you think the police are not telling the truth about Jesse where are you going to? Weighing our options for Jessie, what's really important is he really just his career and his life back. Again. He did not ask for any of this. He was a victim of a crime his goal and focus right now is just getting his life back on track. He has not even started healing from the initial attack because he's been dealing with everything that's happened since then what the hell is happening here. This is a bizarro world, man. I feel like in a in a far side comic. He's not done healing. It was a fake attack that he orchestrated. We know it. There's video this is mega country. Good lord. It sounds like the the legal team of Justice small here has been listening to George Costanza. Just remember it's not a lie..

He says, it's what is called an alternative prosecution and to read in a belief that we had cleared him that we have indicated him or that he is innocent is not accurate again says it's not unusual to dismiss charges in certain nonviolent felony cases.
