"You travel the globe. You meet with our allies. What are you experiencing in the first 11 months of the Biden administration? Who's coming to talk to you off the record? Well, that's a, I know. This is really interesting because, you know, I've been inherited for a really long time, so I've been there Republican administration's democratic. And here's what happens, right? When a new, not that we're partisan because we're not, right? We have conservatives. When a new democratic administration comes in, very few people want to talk to us. Perfectly understandable. They want to talk to the new guy. They go to brookings. Yeah, maybe. They want to understand them. They want to engage with the administration. And then later they come talk to you. So honestly, the first two years of the Obama like nobody came calling. I mean, I think as we got into the particular end of the second term, people say, okay, this is not foreign policy. It's not going well. You know, there's got to be something better. And then people started engaging with us. But what's interesting is we are not even a full year into the Biden administration. And people are standing in line in front of my door to come and talk to heritage. And ask you what's going on. But they either want to know what is this administration think it's doing because it looks disastrous or nobody's answering our phone or nobody's telling us anything. May meaning the administration administration is not talking to our friends in our lives. They're not making decisions. We don't understand. And then and unbelievably people saying, and what comes after this? No, no, I don't mean that. What comes after this? I mean, are you guys going to ever have a sensible government again? And is that sensible government ever going to be successful? No names, no pat drills, just to, you know, which representatives, no meeting, but what do you tell them? Well, first of all, a couple of things. And look, I don't like bashing this administration, but they're far policy is reflexive. It is reactive. They don't want to do foreign policy. They're not interested in foreign policy. They really are isolationists in the sense that they just want to ignore what the rest of the world is doing. They want to focus on domestic politics and they're really only interested in policy insofar as it reinforces their domestic agenda. So they love to talk about climate change. But they just want foreign policy to go away. People who are cool. And they've got a left wing at a party, of course who wants to embrace the Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood and China and everybody else. So I don't see how they get better. I just be honest with you. I don't see how they get better. I don't see a person amongst the cabinet members who could like step up to the plate in a reshuffle. I just don't see it. No, no, there isn't there, but because it's a very weak, the most influential person is probably John Kerry. He was a peer of Biden. Biden respects Kerry. But there's no foreign policy mastermind. Yes, yes, because what Carrie is saying is the most important things are climate change. And the Iran deal, right? And so Kerry is. Oh, you mean in that sense? He's providing a focal point. We have to be soft on the Russians because we need their help on the Iran deal. We have to be soft on the Chinese because we need their help on climate change. And there are a bunch of basically second order Obama people just doing what old Obama people will do. Here's what I said. Is there an alternative? Yeah, look, I mean, if there is a powerful Republican majority in Congress, they can't turn foreign policy in different directions, but they certainly can hold a president more accountable. So that's the good news. So the midterms. Then I think if you look at the conservative movement, it is actually way more cohesive than the other side. Are there isolationists? Sure. Are there internationalists and globalists? Yeah, fine. But the bulk of conservatives. And the bulk of the leaders of the conservative movement are peace through strength Reagan, whether they know it or describe it that way or not. And they don't want an Iran deal. And it was Donald Trump that did that. Donald Trump made it okay to be a peace through strength. Yeah, he brought he brought it back and we are so excited. It's a bright new future, especially with the new leadership inheritance. Follow this guy, JJ carrano were quickly.

"Let's see. That's ridiculous. So many. 'cause I remember ridiculous like two parents. I mean, you posted, I remember like, you know, seeing some picture, you know, like for, you know, siblings day or something on IG where I was like, all of these people in one house. I couldn't fathom it. How many have siblings do you have? But we had all in one house. That's my point. It's like to have like 6 kids all under one roof. Yeah. We were only truly under one roof for one year of like everyone loves their full time because my youngest sister was born when I was a junior. My brother was a senior. And so then he went to college and then I went to college. But then but when I came back, I think there were when I came back, I think my older brother was like, living in Queens and my younger, whether I think was at college, so it was like my other younger brother and my sister and my other sister. So it was actually that was a lot. That was like four of us. But then when my other, but I went to college. So I don't know. There's always a cycling. There was a cycle, yeah. But you grew up in your parents like with that many of you, I know you were a runner, right? That was your thing and in high school and stuff. Yeah, that was very much my thing. You did track and field? I did check in feel distance. I like to run just trying to get back into it right now. I've gained a lot of weight over the quarantine, pandemic, which isn't good or bad. It's just the body, the fact, and today. Tell it sister. Absolutely. I go on like a 45 minute spiral of body positivity that ends up alienating everyone. And so I do miss running and so I'm trying to get back into running. It's a different experience, but whatever. I'm this weekend, man. I ran 12 miles last night. What? And then I ran like 6 and a half today around 50 miles this week. I just I'm trying to run. I'm doing none to run this app. So it's like nothing to you're supposed after 12 weeks. You're supposed to be able to run for half an hour straight. But I'll tell you, it's like literally like a you run for a minute, you walk for two. You run for a minute, you guys are doing that. My shins are hurting. I was like, I broke my legs. I was like, how do you think this was supposed to be so hard? Especially just doing like a minute at a time? Yeah. Well, what choose can I ask? Because I ordered something 'cause right now, I don't want a short circuit. Okay, you're ready. We'll talk about it after. I was fine with the running so you started talking gear. How many electrolytes are you drinking afterwards? Well, I missed you. Muscle just falling off. I know. I was like, it just hurts, I'm bad at running. For years and years of my life, if I worked in running stores, fitting people making those racks. So you're a pro, you know. So great. I will be bothering you offline. I would describe this. I would describe myself as uniquely qualified. But you know, speaking of running, you know, pat for so many years, what were you running from? That's a fucking transition. It is funny. I mean, when I think of like my teenage years, which is when I really got into running, I was so sad. I was when I think of myself in high school, I was like, I just had this deep sadness all the time that I don't even know exactly what it was. And I do think running really helps me with that. And I didn't realize how sad I was 'cause I was never, I didn't know that I am happier. As an adult, I'm like, oh my God. And I only had that feeling sometimes. I'm like, oh my God, I decided to feel like 24 7, it's like heaviness. And I think running was like a little bit of an escape from that and I think yeah, I think and it also really helped me make I was, you know, a closet gay person. And really Catholic school. And it was the aughts when it was like. It was like American pie culture. It would be great. You can be gay in that. And so. It is specific. And it's just like, it's okay to fuck a pie, but not have a consensual relationship with some of your own gender. Yes. And so yeah, I think and running help me make friends with I was always it's just always been. I remember in 8th grade, I had one friend and I remember telling him I was like, you know, for some reason, it's actually like so much easier. I find it to talk to girls and to boys. And he was like, well, that would mean you were gay. And I was like, yeah, I'm just kidding about that. And then I made a memo like never say that again. And so I just like all of high school was so careful about like it was just an experience like being having to pretend it was hard talk to the girls and easier to boys, but it was so hard to talk to boys and easy doctor girls. So I think having a sport, it made it easy because it was kind of this built in group that was kind of coed because it was like boys and girls. You know what I mean? Also, there's a kind of isolation to running. Right. You're like, I don't have to talk to anyone. This is great. Totally. Yeah, totally. I mean, you know, it's like a group of people running together, which is fun 'cause it's like just chatty, but you never have to say anything unless you have something so brilliant and funny to say, so it's like so it's just a win. It's like you own there's only to be one. It's have to be one. And then, or it's like by yourself, which is absolutely heaven, because I've always been very my mind really wanders. I'm always like dissociating. I'm always like, oh my God, it's truly three hours later, where have I been where have I gone? You know what I mean? Yeah. So running was like, didn't help me with that but it indulged that a lot because whatever. Do you get that? Where's your brain? You're like, where are you? Where do you go? Sorry, I was thinking about that pixy song in my head..

"The advice Oscar was really heartbroken and had just moved to the same city as his ex-boyfriend and I just wanted to everything that the Oscar said really resonated with me because that's exactly where I was three years ago. And it was horrible and I hated myself and I felt like the entire breakup could be my fault. And it took three years to finally start feeling like myself. So I just wanted to call in and give kind of a timeline perspective on for that caller to just have a little bit of a perspective on it's going to take a long time to start feeling like yourself again, but it's really helpful or at least I find it helpful to really submerge myself in all of the things by hobbies and finding your Friends and learning new things and definitely put that person to their partner in ex partner, I guess. On mute, if not completely blocked because even if you want them back, it's just not going to happen. You're going to have to redefine yourself as an individual. And then three years later, maybe you'll start to feel like yourself again. Anyway, thanks so much for the show. Bye. Some pretty sober advice. Really real advice. I love it. Also, always advocating muting. You know me? You meet everyone. I really do. Honestly, my feet is just dogs. There's no way. And you know what? I'm better for it. Am I still in your feet? Yes, you are. But largely because you tag me. You know what I mean? So you're popping up in there. But that was very nice of you, and I'm so glad that you are on the other side, even though it took you a while. Dear listener. So I appreciate that. And then this last comment is made us both chuckle. This is from a couple episodes ago, Janice meetings episode. And someone called in and said that her friends, husband is very mean to her. Yeah, he sucks. Yeah. So her friend's husband sat so she's like, what do I do about it? So someone sent us a message over Instagram about that. Let's roll it. Hi, Andy and Naomi. I'm listening to your podcasts with Jana right now. And I had to stop it to give you guys my two cents about one of your listener questions because I'm a little tipsy and if I don't do it right now, I'll forget, but she's talking about being the third wheel because her bestie's partners being a real douche. And I just wanted to throw it out there. I think he wants to boner and he's being a real dick about feelings. So that's it. The end, I love you guys. I came for Naomi. And I stayed for the fucking love. You guys are amazing. Thanks. Bye. That one is fun. I love it, how do you little tipsy comments? I don't know if I agree with your assessment that he wants to bone her, but I do like an interpretation of his behavior. I don't know. I do, like, I don't know, am I more repressed days? That definitely like, you know, being attracted to someone, came out more as a aggressive? Yeah. But like, yeah, not like that. I wasn't a jerk, but definitely just like being a little more teasing, if you will. Yeah. Yeah. But is it wife or girlfriend? Either way, he can't have this other person. Right, but still, but that's why I didn't mean to her anyway. Yeah. But so I don't totally know if I agree or not, but I can kind of I'm like, oh yeah, I see where you're coming from. All right, well, I guess. Maybe it's possibility. I just appreciate somebody calling, you know, a couple of glasses in. Here. I have got to weigh in. And that's something that I absolutely love. Oh my God, speaking of things, I absolutely love. Can we talk about today's guest? Yes, please do, Naomi. Guest is a dear friend. I simply adore him. You know him from his podcast seek treatment. His work on the TV show hacks. Yes, I'm talking about pat Regan, y'all. Pat is hilarious. Pat is funny and kind and told me he's gonna teach me how to run. And do you hear we talk about that in this? Unless you, you know, he's running quest? Quest, my quest to run. My thick quest. My thick quest. Are you going to with this third season coming up? Are you going to try to get them to change the title to my thick quest? Absolutely my thick quest ravens banquet. A thick quest and a banquet. That goes out of hand. What? What if it's said like fried cheese banquet? My thick quest, fried cheese banquet. That's actually much better. Thank you so much. Punch ups, punch ups, you guys. I look. I'm in this biz. Charlie Kirk Hosts Meet-and-Greet on Own Dime After Clemson Denies Permits
"You know, our family, our Salem family includes great great talent like Charlie Kirk, Charlie had a big event here in the South Carolina area last night, quick backstory. Charlie was invite, I guess his turning point USA group had an event at Clemson university, the way that works, a group of Clemson typically colleges a university's public schools public universities have to go through a process and they invite organizations like turning point to campus and the left doesn't want to let kids hear Charlie Kirk's point of view. Conservatives aren't allowed to be in the public arena, according to the left. You know, the tolerant left. Victim Mentality - burst 03
"Thoughts lead to feelings and feelings lead to behavior. Now when i've repetitively think to myself. I'm unfortunate i'm the victim then i will feel as a victim and because i feel as a victim therefore i will behave as a victim. Now debt by itself would not be so bad if there was no consequences later on in the long term. Why when i think to myself i'm a victim yet. Why does it always happen to me. Of course it always happens to me than i feel that way and i also feel that weight on my shoulders in my mind on my heart in my chest on my chest wherever we feel it in my thinking maybe some people consider it or experiences as i. Am you know that heavy cloud is above me and it's wearing me down. It's so heavy now. Then we start feeling as such and then we will also in our behavior accept other people's behaviors that then victimize us yes so therefore a little thought has huge consequences so if we as humans only knew how impactful our thoughts are. I seriously believe that we would choose so much. More wisely. the thoughts we think in the first place and then in the second place which starts we want to repeat over and again. And which one do we want to linger with for a long period of time. I absolutely hundred percent agree with that. Which is why we believe that. We need to teach this in schools because these are tools that we should all grop. We said we should own. I had a dream for ourselves. And it's ridiculous that we daren't so i can completely relate to what you were speaking about when you talk about those feelings creating behaviors and attitudes because that's exactly what it was a fantastic the biggest example of my life. Which is my l. patia. That's how i used to feel about myself. I which see my hair falling ass again and and it's not fair. Why is it happening again. Will this ever stall piskunov. Be the center of my life forever. I hate myself when my hair foes ash a height. The way i looking i feel full of shame from the sort of bigotry that i'd faced on my life. When i got older and started lincoln differently. I realized when i look at those times i thought that about myself that i was setting myself up for itch by thinking that way. And i've given all this power to my alopicia. When in fact if i had a role model when i was young who was like i am now and just said tikey pat backed by doing these three things and you'll completely change the way you feel about yourself and therefore what you'll loss will be like. Because john we create what we feel about aso allies. It would've been such a different life for me. Which is what drives me to do that for others today. Of course so. I'm grateful for the journey.
A Close Call With A Neighbor
"This hometown. The subject line is close. Call with a neighbor hi fam. I've tried to write this story down concisely multiple times but there's so much crazy shit that went on that it's hard to keep it short. Here's my best shot. All we ask right. Destroy your best. Try your best. I lived in an apartment building in downtown columbus. Ohio when i was twenty three one night at three am. I was woken by the sound of someone trying to turn my luck and open my apartment door. I was scared. But i figured it was just someone drunk or lost a yelled through the door. Hey this isn't your apartment to which the man through the door responded. I know and continued trying to turn the luck. I started panicking. And i yelled back. If you don't leave. i'm calling the police. He then started slamming his body into my doors heart as possible making my entire front hallway. Shake my god. I called nine one one and luckily the police arrived in time to remove him from my door just before he could break it down. They told me he lived in the apartment below mine and he was just drunk and had gotten confused. I told the police that i had very clearly told him that he was in the wrong place and that he was being excessively aggressive but they laughed it off. Well my little murdering oh heart was still very paranoid so i changed my log but extra protection and started doing some research. I found his name on the box in the mail room that was addressed to the apartment below mine and i googled him. I found horrible personal blog where he ranted about a lot of bullshit but particularly his hatred of women and how he had an extensive gun collection. I also learned that he was a two hundred and twenty pound ex-marine in peak physical fitness. Mike there were so many red flags that i immediately alerted the apartment management group to his behavior online and off and petitioned to break my lease they then inform me other women in the building had filed harassment complaints against him but the apartment manager had talked to him and assured me he was quote. A sweet guy who is just going through a rough pat. That was enough for me. I moved out. However before i moved. They put the unit on the market. And they were doing some showings one day. I opened the door for a showing and in all caps and bold. The guy who tried to break in is standing

Grubhub Accused of Overcharging Restaurants Amid COVID Pandemic in New Lawsuits
"Ingram hub in new york city a lot of restaurants. We're finding that they were getting charged for phone calls. Now you think about that. And you're like that's kind of weird. How could grub charge a restaurant for a phone call. The way they do that is when you go to the grub up pitch for your favorite restaurant they generate a number that route routes through grub hub. I so you're actually calling the restaurant but not before grab the mafia daughter for you right. But like this is why they feel like it's mafia. They opened the door for you. They're not providing any service besides discovery. Personally i've done this. I i wanna call the restaurant directly order from them and reduced that mission costs so i go and they don't like maybe have a website or maybe grow is the first thing that shows up so i clicked on crop up. Call that phone number now. I know they are not getting a benefit from that. They're still being charged. And what's weird about it is. They can't determine the order that you've done so they do like an average so like they between like for this restaurant the hampel noodle the ex-pat in in harlem charging like five to eight dollars five to seven dollars about like approximately per order so like if i'm ordering like an eleven dollar noodles myself and now they're being charged five to seven dollars for that like that's a crazy amount of money. In a lot of cases it's an algorithm that was determining how charge because there's nobody on the phone listening. Actually i listening to the calls so the algorithm says this call last thirty seconds. It's an order but sometimes it wasn't an order. The person was like hey like do you have this dish like and they were like no and i actually hung up and drop hub was actually chart charging for that. Oh this is. there's a lawsuit actually a couple of lawsuits. That have happened outside of new york city or people have sued for group. Says like you're right. We should only charge for orders on the phone that resulted order so they still believe that like it should be able to get money also phone call orders but they basically saying there are a lot of fraudulent charge. There are some fraudulent charges that
The Catholic Church: Scandal in the Shadows With Margaret Mary OConnor
"We are excited to have margaret. Mary o'connor with us today. How are you armed doing real good ladies having a year. Yes for so thrilled. Where would you like your story to begin. Well i guess it begins back in the nineteen fifties. When i was a young girl and i was raised in an irish catholic family and there was one incident in particular that regard a birthday gift that my brother paul received that actually brought out the inequality of woman in the catholic church and my mom had bought my brother Replica was a rural cardboard replica of church altar. So i remember bob were so excited. He immediately went behind the altar and assume the row of playing the part of a priest and he told myself and my twin sister pat Bring some chairs in here so we both got a share for ourselves and put him down right in front of the altar in we were like playing the role of parishoners. Well everything was fine until a certain point one. I remember. I stood up. And i told paul basically I wanted to play. The ro as appraised. And i'll never forget what he said he said can't be appraised. Your girl only girl only men. Can you know play their part saw. I basically learned a young age very quickly. That there definitely was a difference As far as you know assuming such a position in our
LaVar Arrington Makes Case for Steelers, Ravens Making the Playoffs Over Patriots
"Restart the rookie taking the pats to the playoffs. You agree with him patriots. It pains me to do this because so many people are on the positive train of of mack jones. But i just don't see him leading up to the playoffs. I don't see them being a while. If i'm looking at it from a critical critical perspectives Just i think that you can't count out the ravens to win the division for for one. You can't count out the steelers ever because it's just not on the record book. Their their resumes says that they win. under my tomlin. So you can't just write that off and say that the browns are going to be the division chad's it looks like it lines up for that because they have injuries and baltimore. They had age issues in line issues for question in pittsburgh but nonetheless. These are still a big brothers on the block. And until cleveland proves that you'd have to assume that cleveland could be a playoff team but could ultimately slip into being one of those wild card teams as well. So when i look at what what the patriots are going to have to do. In order to qualify. I just i see teams more teams that make more sense to make it to the playoffs this year. Then a rookie led new england patriots team. To look for that people may not be discussing right now. I wrote them down. Or the broncos make sure you pay attention to the broncos. This could be a dark horse team to pay attention to get them way more but an opportunity to make it to the playoffs Oh in a while. Car bid over over the new england patriots.

"Pat Thurston where those hello good afternoon I'm Pat there since senator bill Dodd is on the line with me and we're taking your telephone calls as we talk about the potential for they a toll road highway thirty seven being turned into a toll road and this so that these improvements can be made not just to widen the highway but I'm assuming senator it we're also going to be building the highway higher is that right so it'll essentially be building a new highway the length of highway thirty seven so that it's not sitting right on the March today that that would be if you can imagine the you'll come across a yolo causeway the going from Davis to in the in the soccer it would look something like that right okay all right okay eighty eighty eight ten is the telephone number eight oh eight oh eight ten let's go to what Chris who's calling from Fairfield Chris hi welcome to KGO you're on the senator dot go ahead okay thank you senator Dodd Sir thank you for this opportunity I I'm I'm this bothers me because every time there's an issue like this the state comes after us for more money there are toll roads now on six eighty near one a creek and going down to the Sacramento the the thank you I pass whatever it's called it just seems that whenever something comes up existing taxes don't pay for it they come out for new money when does this stop but can you can't be held responsible for what populous spending our tax money and then perhaps for the way things are prioritized I have a look to Caltrans budget I'm sure you have senator well you see I'm unfortunately there's not pockets of money you know for this East West highway yeah based on the forty two thousand the travelers per day compared to all the other priorities throughout the state yeah you know I'm just looking at this thing saying a yes this is a three and a half to four billion dollar facility and whether tall we can leverage that area and get the rest of that eighty percent eighty eighty five percent of that money up to three and a half three they have more billion dollars then there are three a quarter billion dollars then I think would be you know it would be you know what your work while but if we don't do that yeah well I again I just want to be honest with my constituents this job is not getting done there is not enough I mean that's that's the other thing that we have a you know to deal with your that you know in this North Bay area we've got like two senators out of forty we've got you know three assembly members added ET and there's just not enough stroke you get a low population we've been trying to get one out one body for the Marin narrows from tele looming in the bottle for how long this is a B. there's just a lot of needs and yeah I apologize to the taxpayers because I too am frustrated by this but again we need to be honest if we're going to increase this corridor and the ability to get through this corridor in any you know normal time fashion this is where I think it's got to be so you're saying this century we've got two choices we either accept that there's going to be a toll or we have to accept that this work isn't going to get done in our lifetimes it will get done until twenty eighty eight that's my assessment and by that time considering global climate change the whole thing maybe under water anyway and completely unusable right and that that is the way it W. that is so low already you know it's really does it really does I love each and everything I did it's keeping the water from overtaking that anyway and sooner or later C. level rises get overtake you know that as well thank you I am a senator Dodd I I appreciate you joining us today I want to tell our listeners that you we're gonna let you go but we can continue talking about this amongst ourselves thank you so much we'll stay in touch on this issue obviously is very important especially to the people in the North Bay or people who travel to all right thanks for your interest not pursued the comments of all your your listeners and you know what senator John I just want to tell you this the first time you and I've spoken but when there are issues that come up that you think need the attention of you know the people a please feel free to reach out to us we can always bring these things on the air to make people aware or to get feedback from people as well thank you so much you betcha that senator bill Dodd I'm Pat Thurston and we will be right back you're listening to cases are.

"I've determined Pat offered collages to Jedi master Martin and Jeffey to rough him up. Martin. Fitting that. Time. I got to go to Nigeria though for a visit. Are you leaving like right now? They'll leave right now. Yeah. So I thought I thought that I thought of that as long as we're still on Jesse a little bit was then the police were going to kind of let that slide and that he did the interview and that ticked off. And so they were like, oh, okay. If you're gonna you know, if you're going to be go, you're going to double down like this that we're going to we're going to go after you. But apparently they already knew. Yeah. The Nigerians were coming back that same day. It was coincidence. Yes. They were going back from the the channel the channel to Chicago report of the Glenn talked yesterday. Yeah. That's where I heard that was that was fascinating. So it's been on this from the beginning. And had a lot of great stuff before anybody else did. And so he's Weigel. I mean, it's just ridiculous. I seriously I it is hard to understand. It really is hard to understand. And it's hard. It's hard to for him. I can't believe that he's still. I mean, I guess still on empire. I mean, well soon as if they do as long as soon as his proclaiming his innocence. But if he's found guilty of this, then it's over then he's gotta go, right? It's over you can't stick with them after that. Right. And it looks like he's never going to admit this. This isn't going to be an episode of Perry. Mason where he breaks down in tears. Eight. And I wanted to make money. A hundred thousand dollars privacy. Dr of this show. I worth at least five hundred grand. And so. Eight you people why did you drag out of me big bang theory? Mix billion in that. And they're losing their hemorrhaging viewers on empire. Did you see that? I think this show debuted this year at six million the next week. It went to five point numbers now yet might right? So maybe maybe that's a thought on their part is we stick with them as long as he's claiming innocence because we'll bring viewers right? Yeah. Which is weird because you're gonna watch it just because of this. I mean, I'm not I'm not either. But I had no interest in it before got no interest in it. Now while so, yeah, it's tell hateful.
