"Me. Daddy riched. Oh, yeah, Daddy rich man. Come on, man. I got a picture in my office of em, sitting, you know talking to me. It's just giving me the advice between, you know his fashion design, you know, it was fun because he never really conversated with me because it wasn't that he didn't need to but we think he would always tell me every time we go to New York Ricky. You gotta get some blue shoes. That's a come on Chuck. You know, I've got game but blue choose what I'm looking I am getting a pair of navy blue shoes and from meslin every time I throw that blue suit all Coop you go. They only have and they have it but it's not publicized anymore because guys leave out back and forth with one year in college to go to the NBA and he was like, he like baby boy boy, you know, just just get that money get that money. And every time I saw a big John what that hurt me with him and Wes unseld dying and the same year. Then this code has this crazy pandemic that went and the social injustice that we're dealing with. "The basketball needed to be able there you have it that's Derek Harper I I mean Maggie words so now we're going to go back to ninety for the NBA finals and listen Kim was always a better player Patrick you and that's how he was well it is a short over the course of his career yeah but I mean either as well as a writer that Sears well I I understand I can was a better player yeah there's there's no there's no doubt about it so if you wanna if you want to drill down on that series and say that it was that was Patrick's fault that he did not pass and Akeem did if you're Derek Harper that's gonna help you sleep at night I guess I mean I I guess you can look at it that way well okay so there is a lot here and it's just really interesting that of what has sports has just been totally put to a halt all of a sudden it's like the Knicks of the nineties and specifically Patrick you exit tire career that's now getting like this crazy just like everyone kind of was a coming out of the woodwork but but kind of right to call about it and it's sort of poke holes and Patrick Ewing in a they're really kind of take shots at him it and I think what Harper's doing here is it's not malicious in any way I think that he's basically trying to paint a picture for you which is that Patrick Ewing was a superstar for the decks probably felt like he didn't have the surrounding cast that he needed to be to win a title yet now the surrounding cast is blaming Ewing for tried to put the team on his back and sort of when the title by himself and so I could see if Patrick maybe would come back and say I didn't maybe didn't trust those guys as much as he felt like he could maybe felt like he had to be taking shots with two with three guys draped all over him but to Harper's point you know that isn't the best way to play basketball you know and and if those are lower percentage shots maybe Patrick feels like I listen I trust myself to get a low percentage shots more than I trust my teammates and listen he might have had reason to believe that you know that Patrick it wasn't the only one who we can criticize you know for their performances during the in the finals and in in the playoffs you know like in most famously it's gotta be Starks who also gets the brunt of it so I think it's like it everyone needs to take their share so I I think it's kind of two different things first of all I think Oakley is probably upset number one about Patrick dot com address defense with the dole and stuff but that's now bled to other things you know why did you have this person's back during this time of year the superstar on the team your voice is going to carry more weight than anyone else's voice and there were times when you could set things and show leadership instead you decided to lead by example it is a basketball side of it which is whether or not Patrick Ewing was making the right moves or whether he was trying to do too much and that was to the detriment of the team there's two different things going on here and Patrick Ewing's basically you know getting called out on both of them yeah I I think it's just unfortunate I can't okay I think it's sad to be honestly I I think it's it's sad where you're looking at an error of NYC basketball which was you know a good error if I you know being a big fan growing up even with the disappointment in the lawsuit in in ninety four to the rockets in the finals and you know constantly be and you know at the you know because we get knocked around by Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls I enjoy that error the remarkable toughness that this team showed during that era and now I'm just seeing these guys basically nip at each other's heels and patrons are doing it and he's remained quiet in your C. and everything that that now it's coming out in from this Oakley scenario James Dolan where please carry the size and Patrick Derek Harper is criticizing Patrick I mean I got the house if I'm Patrick Ewing and there's a squabble between at the mesa Matt Riley I'm gonna lean toward Pat Riley Pat Riley ready to revolutionize the next when he stepped in you know I. Madison Square Garden and if you're Patrick Ewing as I lived through those days and watch those teams there was not a lot of great talent around him workable guys Mason was a workable god the Starks was certainly you know what Derek Harper you know they brought in Rolando Blackman from the Dallas Mavericks was Harper's running me down there in Dallas but you know roll Blackman at that time you know he was no longer the player that he once was down in Dallas you know even brought in Charles Smith the one point and they could never find that secondary guy for Patrick so yeah there were times that Patrick did take the onus of put the offense on his back so but yeah I mean it is what it is I mean that he was the biggest on that team was the best player on that team and I yeah and I love Harper and the on bar what do you do defensively in the mentality that he showed and it was a part of that team I get it I think it's kind of sad to see now those going out there and criticizing Ewing who is often criticized as a player here New York and it was an ex that he wasn't the player that he was as a Georgetown it's almost like Patrick has consistently had to when he did as a player defend himself with just what he is and now we're looking at it what twenty six years later and you have guys criticizing what he was as a players and make I think it's kind of sad and depressing to be is a Nick fan I they I really do well I you know I I did get a look at it and I think it's a shame I think she might Oakley I thank chairman Harper for making the comments that he did I really do I mean that your look and say well you know Patrick and the reason why the rockets won is because they a lot as well was the ability to pass out of double teams allies wanted a better team as well looking for a better basketball team yeah I I and and that's I said like I think that there was a probably a feeling on you in like Hey I got a win this thing by myself because it and and that's unfortunate and it's actually forty four minutes a game of that series well it's kind of a testament to Ewing I think at that point not minutes all eyes one of that series by the way no I know but you never get off the court the better team right and so I understand that but a large one player you with you we never stopped off on the corner that's here is let's not forget that he played forty four minutes a game in that series think that to me is you know I agree with you because I think it's just kind of goes to show that when teams don't win it always leaves something right it always leaves a void it always leaves some kind of a hole because you're always wondering about the what could have been it would be the really very unique team I think that would you know look at their chances all these years later and you know you'd you'd you'd like to think they would say Hey this is a great accomplishment to get there but they're so competitive that it it just now leads to you know things that maybe people wanted to say but but felt like they haven't been able to I would say shame on Derek Harper I mean I think that his criticism is actually pretty measured I mean he he's just saying what he saw he saw the team wanting more from Patrick Ewing from a leadership standpoint in terms of vocal leadership behind the scenes that's a fair criticism of one TV in other countries but I don't know if it is what is it that's patches for it if it's not petrous personality can only be the player that you wore I know but there's a there's a personality that you are I know but that's what I think separates at times what makes some superstars just fully complete which is understanding what your team needs at the moment it even if it may not be in your nature understanding that that's what they need from you and I'm not saying the faulty be fake do something you can't do but if you needed if if they felt like they needed Pat Patrick Ewing to settle something be mediator between Riley and at the base and like there's ways you can do it without giving some kind of you know without getting outside of yourself at some point you need to see okay what is the team lead for me today and how can I how can I be that person for that that that is leadership to me in the truest sense it in the bin and that is you know saying that he fell short in that area to be is not a terrible criticism and the basketball stuff is just the basketball stuff you know I'm not gonna be I'm not going to take it out on you in for feeling like he needed to win that on its own but Maggie that's also opened I mean you could show leadership a lot of different ways as well I mean so now you've had you've had Oakley basically say that Patrick Ewing when that when that when the law when they needed them the most as a player on the court they're dealing shied away from the big from the big shot right then you in did not embrace the big moments so you that Oakley make those comments and then Derek Harper from the top rope is not only you know not only says that not even you know you have the Oakley common standard out there now now yep Harper basically saying he was a leader he was a little later nope you're also you're vocally criticizing openly criticize basically that he shot away from the big moment and now you have Harper basically saying there that he didn't pass out of double teams he was selfish in nature as a player and he lacked leadership and I can't say shame on their corporate for sale live letters no I I I I think that he's he's saying that he was a lead by example guy and there were times when they needed him to be more and he will aid he didn't do it that's right I said the question is I said the question's vocal leadership I said so you have you have Oakley basically in one interview you know what D. a say in that that doing shot away from the big shot and then he have here you have Derek Harper tell you that he didn't he was a vocal leader and it was a selfish ballplayer and the reason why we lost the ninety four NBA finals was his reluctance to pass out of double teams I mean I can't say Derek Harper that's a basketball criticism that should be totally on the table and fair I really don't think it's fair criticism I mean it was here shooting guard unit should bother went two for seventeen oh I don't know where else to go in and listen I don't hold any ill will to John Starks is the one of my favorite books of all time but Pat Riley had nowhere else to go on the bench that's why kids starts in that game you know who you know who played a ton in that series it.

"John Lewis Very House the funds did anybody that sweet. I re tweeted yesterday of the Turkeys in the road all thirty five Turkey's do I follow walking in a circle very weird round a dead cat. Thank road cult ish. It was really upset. Yeah that was really really super-duper upsetting. I didn't like it at all. It's it's there. Those Turkeys are probably doing something to try to escape. Thanksgiving so so I I a bunch of a few years ago asked Kobe Bryant in the locker room like going what would have happened had you you know the Jedi mind trick not worked and the the nets drafty like you know they were going to before. They were talked out of it. You know all that stuff and then you go to New Jersey. There's e- it weren't a garbage franchise of time and they ended up you know Byron Scott got him into a couple of finals and Jason Kidd was there but you know it was the Lakers. You weren't joining the team either. Adventure get shack. You didn't have the doctor bus and Jerry West and so on and so on and so on if you go there what happens is like out of figured it out I would've I would've wanted to see what he says he would have won. You know just as much would figure it out. I believe that wholeheartedly. I believe that he believes it right. You don't think he would've Martin kid with what he wa- well. I mean you don't know if that turns out the same way but would have won a title. Maybe we will maybe to maybe you'll think he would've been the guy that was in the gym. At three o'clock. In the morning and the Momma mentality would've pushed his teams to the brink. All over would have gotten close. Maybe maybe five rings. Pat Patrick Ewing may be Charles Barkley maybes Karl Malone gets to a couple of finals or gets you know me as an extra for shack but point being actually packers already in. La At that time you know going copious drafted Koby joined right yeah yeah so the point being the context matters like you know and so you look at like Josh Rosen is just named the starting quarterback in Miami. Yeah he's GonNa marry by the way comparing Josh Rosen and Kobe Brian very well done. It's it's context. Josh Rosen is going to get himself killed in Miami. He got himself killed last year in Arizona. We're going to look up at the end of the year and just be like you know what Josh Rosen Sucks Wchs and we'll we. Nobody has any idea how good a quarterback he can be. He's going to be David Karn Houston. He's GONNA BE DAVID CAR IN HOUSTON. He's going to be what Jared Goff would've would've been if Stan Kroenke hadn't fired Jeff Fisher if you go through another two years of that then Jared Goff is the worst I number one pick ever and we're all sitting every day going how the hell did they draft him instead of Carson Wentz right. They probably don't have very good offensive line. They're still running up the middle on the the first two downs at least yeah and they sometimes on the third just throw out routes. It's a totally different jared goff and so like I this is one of these things in sports that always kind of amazed me like we look at Karl Malone to some degree as a failure because he's just never quite better than Jordan. Deco considering failures that the second second ranked rings yeah but he's got the zoo is all time. Do we in sports did you are you. Have you ever listened to sports. Sir Charles Barkley Failures. One of the great players of our age didn't win. Robert got ejected. I'm being told from woody's arguing strikes yeah arguing against strikes yeah a home plate. This is from David say home plate Umpire Greg Gibson had a short fuse. Dave Roberts and has injected the dodgers as manager for Chirping about strikes zones during Gavin Lexus looked in the dugout said Dave stop tripping balls and strikes or you're out of here. There are a few things that annoy me more than complaining about empires at this point. There's nothing we can do about it well. You'd be upset too if you're going to be replaced by a robot well. I want them to be replaced by automation is coming for all of us. There are a little on edge. Do you know who trump is the he'll backstage lakers. I'm sure that you've worked with him now. He's cameraman so whether I I got into a conversation with him about about it at the Justin Turner thing those at earlier today and it's how strike zones work we can't it. These guys have no chance look at WHO's upbringing. You have who's us is jock jock. No Yeah Okay so his Jock Petersen standing right so he's got his knees bent and he's a little bit lower and if you see outfit on a ball watch him go go straight up and that's not jock Kevin lucks so yeah look like John so anyway so a guy can lean over and the strike zone is from chest to knees and and then when you wanted to strike when there's a ball go lift us left handed you lift up and now you're you're strike. Zone is all of a sudden larger. It's just you can't call correct ball and strike over over and over again until there's a robot umpires. There's nothing we can do about it. I'm tired of hearing people complain about Umpires because they're going to get wrong. It's my soapbox wasn't worth thing thing before we go I was reading day. No I want to get the other one talked about this right and we've talked about UMPIRES at context ourselves. there's a story out that I read about each sports coming to high school. This point like everybody recognizes or should recognize is like East sports is a thing like more people sit around watching people play video games on Youtube on twitch on whatever then watch baseball games James and watch real sports and all that kind of stuff so that your kids do oh yeah. It's all minded they sit there and watch people play minecraft yet minecraft exactly rather they play minecraft of people by uh-huh. How many how many people around the world will tune in to watch one person play a game but in the millions but I get it like the especially especially with somebody like minecraft he sits in is like well he gives me ideas like in like strategies and things that I can do so east. Sports is apparently now coming to high schools else we all we've seen it in the NBA. There's a you know e sports. NBA's league and it's in the X. Games and they're considering it for the Olympics and all these other things like eighty eight cash deal. I don't know if in high school though this is a good idea and I will tell you why yeah please do because I don't understand the whole point of high school sports or a point of high school sports particularly if you are a father of boys is to get them to stop playing video games for ten minutes and go do something active in the real world like preferably outside but it's not mandatory. They play hockey. That's indoors but like just put down the video games for ten minutes. What video games are they playing. When I was in high school no no boy your boy they play roadblocks roadblocks okay if you're not doing all throw in robot because they don't have a roadblock roadblocks to a team they play minecraft and they play roadblocks and you can make money play fortnight but they're not actually that into four-night now so four nine watch over part of the legend over watching. League of legends like that is because I don't let them play those games yet but like when they're sixteen they're going to play. They're not gonNA still going to be playing. Roadblocks remain playing minecraft. You can still be doing that but they'll be playing the ones that they play professionally. I don't object check too. I don't have any objection at all to some dude who can make a million and a half year playing overwatch if you can do it godspeed son but he's just like any other a player like a a somebody that's trying to be a basketball player in the NBA or a football player in the NFL right and try and get recruited by college. There is colleges going towards yes. There are really it's already. They're already happening to high school. You need to be on a team already years about seventy artist if my kid turned out to be some sort of prodigy prodigy where I knew he could go to college for free on it. I might reconsider my opinion but I know how is your kids nine and seven where you not listening. I missed it so I'm sorry three games listener. If you're going to send that chair you can sit and be a producer not listening because I know that's what people do right but if you're going to sit in that chair you have to listen if you know he plays soccer. Is he going to play college. Soccer probably not so the value from is being not being outside having fun. Whatever like that most kids in video games Arcana play college level video games the the goal is to stop playing video games for five seconds. USC has earned a safety twenty three twenty USC. They're GONNA get the ball back wow because they held going to hang onto this job forever right but I think going back just real fast as the finish up playing in highschool is a good thing for them to be doing this so they can beep beep at this point when your kids at nine nine and seven get to be sixteen years old. They're going to be on a team that can they can play as much overwatch. Is that if you're good enough to get into college off it fine yet but you know what probably won't be by then everybody's doing it. It's like you say I wanNA be a youtuber. Hardness become a youtube or that makes money now. I gotTa do do something that People Wanna see. That is the dumbest thing you've said. It really is E._S._p._N. L._A..

"Hours of the program and very proud to be involved with bleach report been an admire for years with bleach report. I actually tried to. I I was asking if I could be a consultant for Bleacher report three years ago because I just like where they were headed by like that it was a younger audience and what they were doing. And I said can I be consultant, and they said, well, what would you do? I said, I don't know. But I'd like to be involved with Bleacher report fast forward to three years later. And here we are will be involved with Bleacher report and all their great reporters as well. We'll be part of the program. John Smoltz major league baseball network. Analysts will join us coming up in a little bit. He, of course, loves Michigan state. He's in our bracket challenge celebrity bracket challenge. Now, how many people are how many celebrities are we waiting for them to turn in their brackets? We want to wrap them our waiting on nine. I could name them. I touch base with them this morning to remind them that they need to try to get in by tonight. Ideally before we get started at noon eastern time. Okay. So we'll Farrell's in will Ferrell's ingen Parsons is in Bryan cranston's in David Spade. Chris Harrison, just sent his Thompson just centers in a few minutes ago is Latin Lonzo Thomas, Johnny bench. Rebecca Lowe, John Daly Mannix, of course, Gretzky Earnhardt, jR, Michael Douglas, just sent his in Georgia tolin demorris Smith all of them have already sent in their bracket there with the players socio after we're just waiting on nine more celebs to okay. And then we're locked and loaded. All right. So you just kind of nudge them along their my my bracket won't be filled out until late tomorrow. At this time. I will be working on filling out my bracket. Probably during the final commercial break at around eleven forty. I will fill out my brackets, and then send them in. I hate it hate doing it. I can't watch the games. Yes. Mclovin. Do you want to sit? I'm feeling a lot of I feel like we're all miserable right now. Can we just opt out of it is that an option? No. Because we're asking these celebrities to be in the bracket challenge presented by subway, and that'd be soft. If we bow out because they want to measure a lot of these people that were having, you know, join us with this date. They don't have this opportunity. You know, they're not hard core. Sports fans, or they have an opportunity to talk sports three hours a day. So this is a big deal for them. It's fun for will Ferrell to do it and Bryan Cranston. And the fact that Michael Douglas is doing it. Josh do Mel sent his bracket in from Tanzania. So this is fun for them. And we're happy to have them involved in the show though, you know, as much as I'd love to win out. Just so I can watch the games. I can't. Yeah. Paulie? Do you ever been to Vegas for the first round? The Joe I can't go to Vegas. Yeah. Well, now, you can't maybe now not taboo. I don't I can't get close to that. No. I don't want any. I don't want to get close to gambling. Like, I can't I'm in rehab. You should see Vegas. I bet it's wild. I've seen video. But I can't I can't get involved in that. Because it's a gateway that'd be like put a nickel here. Put a dime here. Next thing. You know, my wife's asking you. What's your withdrawn a lot of money? Yep. Mine a lot of drinks on buying a lot of drinks here. But no, I don't I don't wanna go down that road. I do something really cool yesterday. Police said, hey, Patrick Ewing wants to interview. He's got a podcast. I said, wait. Patrick Ewing is hosting a podcasting wants to interview me he said, yeah. Okay. So I call in Patrick Ewing. And he's with the former Washington Redskins tight in doc. Walker who's been in the media in Washington DC for probably thirty years. So Patrick was doing the interview he did his research. And he said, oh, a little birdie told me that you used to be a disc jockey a little birdie used to told told me he used to play basketball eastern Kentucky. Little birdie too. You know, so he had my resume there. And he was asking me these questions because he said I want to get better at this. And you're somebody I always admired. And I I would love if you could critique me on what I'm doing and give me some tips, and then you start to. I mean, this is Patrick Ewing asking for this. So the fact that back in the mid eighties before he he gets to the NBA I go to Georgetown, I'm covering Georgetown going into the tournament. And they were Rockstars back. Then but you never got. I never got to sit down with Patrick Ewing and interviewing, but I did talk to John Thompson a few times when I went there. So you know, it's not lost on Patrick that. I was there when he was a junior and senior in college, and I couldn't talk to him. I had to talk to his coach, but the one moment, and you think Xian's famous like Patrick Ewing back then because you didn't get to see all of the games you got to solve a lot. You got to see a lot of them because of the big east, but he stayed for years, and he had John Thompson Hoya paranoia. That was a that was a big big deal. It wasn't just Zion. It was the Hoyas. And it was Patrick Ewing. John thompson. And you just I was there when he was drafted. I was there that day when he was drafted. I was there for the lottery when the Knicks won the lottery. I've been there to watch him play at different stages of his career. And the fact that the relationship changed when we were in San Antonio for the NBA finals years ago. And I was working at the mothership. And I was with John berry and Mark Jackson and Michael wilbon, we're going to go to dinner in San Antonio. And Mark then says he can't go that he's going to go out with Pat, Patrick Ewing. And I gave a little grief like well. I mean, we could always go, and he goes, no, you can't go John can go. But you can't go like it was players only. So we go we end up going to the same restaurant. So I'm there with John berry. And it's awkward because there's Mark Jackson, Patrick Ewing. So we go. Hey, mark. We've just seen him like thirty minutes prior. Hey, mark. And he goes, hey, guys and Patrick's there Mark says, hey, John, Dan, Patrick, and so I'm getting the feeling for Mark Jackson like okay Salo, and then get out of here because Patrick wasn't going to be comfortable with me there. So Jon, Barry, who's not afraid of anything. He said, let's just sit down. And so we sat down Patrick's to the left of me. Mark Jackson to the right? And we just started talking couple of glasses of wine next thing. I know Mark Jackson says, hey, do you want to tell Patrick you? Don't like him. I go. What are you talking about in? Mark wasn't drinking wine. I should say John berry. And I were and I said we talk about. Tell them who you would take a came allies Yuan or him, and I go I would take Akeem and Ewing had the biggest laugh, and he thought it was great that here. I am two feet away from him. And I'm saying to Patrick Ewing. I would take a chemo over he loved it. And after that. He was all he became available, and he was just comfortable with us. And then when we had him in San Antonio last year at the final four, and he came over, and we sat down did an interview. And then we started shooting hoops. So paulie, I look over in police got I believe tears in his eyes. Now, I think because of the wind and the cold that may be that you're not really tearing like you were emotional when Patrick Ewing was out there shooting hoops, and you wanted to shoot hoops against Patrick Ewing one when he walked onto the set. I felt like I was twelve because before Michael Jordan's, Chicago, my favorite college basketball player and pro basketball player with Patrick unit regular, George how was so cool everyone in our neighborhood and all neighborhoods bought Georgetown gear, and it's just one of those athletes. I don't think I ever expected for us to have onset. And I kind of felt like is twelve again. Like, I can't believe there. Pat Ewing who is the coolest back in the day. It was very refreshing to see. Paulie that emotional and excited and caught up in that moment there was like a little kid moment. That was cool to see that Pat. Ewing almost broke my ankle when he pinned a shot back in my face. Paulie doesn't cry. When his kids are born when he got married. Lots of people have kids. I know not everybody gets the play against Patrick Ewing xactly. But paulie wanted to have his shot blocked by Patrick Ewing. What she did. But it was just it was kind of fun to see somebody who was in an environment. Even when he was growing up in Boston where he wasn't beloved where you know, the fans made fun of him. They held up signs. They threw bananas on the floor like Patrick went through an awful lot. So you can understand why he he loved Hoya paranoia because he didn't have to talk and he was an intimidating presence there. Just watch the beginning of the North Carolina game where he gold tens like six shots. And you just like he just went out there with an attitude of you know, what bring it in. And I'm sending it back out here, man. But to see that he had this personality. It's one of the more rewarding moments that I've had in this business because I was allowed in to meet somebody that I'd always admired. He played hard was an unbelievable force certainly in college. And he went from being a defensive player in college. Never he started shooting. He's fifteen eighteen footers with the Knicks, and we're like, wait a minute. Where is this? He didn't do that when he was at Georgetown, and you compared his level of famous Zion. Imagine a Zion handled this year similar fame. But with a scowl on his face, the whole time with different rumors about him and a coach who is defiant and challenging the media and love John towel shielding him. Yes. Magic Zion had much more controversy around him and the same level of fame. Yeah. I don't know. I obviously covering Hoyas in the big east when you had Saint John's in Syracuse, and Villanova was so much fun in that was basketball. I don't think basketball's ever. Been better than that. And we'll ever be better than when you had hall of fame coaches hall of fame players when Saint John's play, Georgetown..

"Did. You'll put it history of basketball nicely potted for you nicely. Potted? I love the word potted. It's love is more of a Snooka term which will be coming to zoom, lean some future episodes. If I saw you walking down the street. I would say that guy likes nuke. Because you remind me slightly of the guy with the big glasses. He plays Snooka. Dennis taylor. Wag my finger light you. That's what he did. Right now, we're going to look at who supports these teams because there's a famous paces who support the Knicks Ben Stiller. Yes. Or no him him. We got Kate Upton and she did the Dougie. Yes. She did the Dougie, you know, not no wiser than what that is. Teach me out at dougy teach me. Spike, Lee Alicia Keys, Chris rock, Jerry Seinfeld. Him Katie home. I know her basically there's loads and for the wizards WALE. Sorry. Wale the rapper. Oh, yeah. Well, the done. Yeah. He did a did a with them lady gonna go. So does this mean that you'll you'll rooting for the wizards? That's right. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm rooting for the Knicks. We still there. Yes, sir. So he buddy you wrote a piece about very despondent fan in you. Yes. And Nick fan. Yes. So he's sold is fan hood on EBay put it up for auction and someone actually bid on the fan hood and forced him to become a Laker fan. A you saying manhood all fan hood fan hood, he sold his manhood. Fan. Manhood was not up for. They didn't go onto the Habur. Sounds nasty. Alex contingencies to try to sell his manhood on what to hear about that could get the question when you sell your fan would what does that actually entail your season ticket or what he did was he sold his allegiance someone actually paid thirty four hundred dollars purchase the fans fan hood and to force him to root for the Lakers. Oh, my Lord. Hey in we want to give a big shout. Thank you so much. Thanks. Thanks for being on the line. Thanks in Begbie from ESPN U S. Thank you so much. And we appreciate at my pleasure. Pose take care. Bye. Hey, alex. Yeah. What do you think? Worse. If you some these which teams that you like or doing that, man. Who joked we thank you? Wasn't a manager. I think he hated you more than eighteen Jeanine. He really hated you that he did know whenever you spoke to me, those an uplift and. When he spent us. Oh, hey, the weary way he answered that manager. This whole podcast is about the New York. Knicks versus the Washington Wizards at the oa-to, you are now a supporter of the Washington Wizards very much, so and I myself very happy to where the Knicks here. Okay. 'cause I'm going to be a hardcore fan, and I think that we actually need to speak to the real fans out there. Yeah. Okay. But what how did we get hold of these fans? We're very clever here in the podcast. Yes. We have a fan on the line right now. Mic Whitfield, Nick Whitfield either as a Knicks fan. Are you there, Nick? Hello. Hey. Hey, y'all British here. I am yet. Nick. I love the back. Do you say that every single time? Someone says here I am. Yeah. I do that as well, Jamie. They're here. I am. Make how are you big Knicks fan? Yes. I think it's safe to say you won't find a bigger Knicks phone in the UK than me really changed by deed Poulton here. Yes is an actual rule of support forced by law to change your name. Nick, we need to find out a cave. We need ask a couple of things because you help us out here. Your I definitely could Nick. That's right. No, cutting edge of the full name of the team is the knickebocker. So at least I escapes with that as my name. So there is that that the nerdier thing I've ever heard anyone say that is insane. Boy, they call the knickerbockers, it's New York related beyond that you'd have to go into New York trivia beyond that a knickebocker is sort of milk shaky drain originally before. So if I'm just stepping in before that they would have been a sort of Carta of panty thing that presumably it's named after the shorts. They wear isn't that right, Nick. Yes, I believe that is exactly the first place. They you know, very much. I was trying to avoid using the phrase pansy person Alex gets very excited when he talks about knickebocker. Yes. All excited why the Knicks so in the early to mid nineties when I kind of I discovered people everything was about, Michael, Jordan and the Chicago booze. And so I started watching those guys, and they didn't really capture my imagination that the guys who did with the Knicks who I'd watch them play and as an arsenal fan. Something resonated with the way the next plate at that time period. It was kind of really physical defending that kind of -bility to neutralize more talented players. It's actually something that resonated with me as a player as well. Never the most naturally towns player, but they kind of made up for it with that kind of hard work and spirit. Let's reddening. Okay. So you got into that way. Now, how many games have you actually been to have you been to quite a few of them for the Knicks in particular have been so maybe seven eight in person who's your favorite player all time. It's a toss up between Pat. Patrick Ewing and John Starks. Patrick Ewing holds pretty much every single record for the Knicks as an individual player, John stocks. As a crazy unlikely underdog story that's worth looking up right now. Kristaps Porzingis is the guy for the next he's out injured currently, but he's the kind of top guy for the next right now in the case of this the on the seventeenth of January, which of those guys I mean when he it was injured the other is going to be playing. I mean, those the people that everyone should look out for the two guys should be looking out for Tim Hardaway who's having an unbelievable season. So far his ability to shoot the ball is absolutely amazing guy, Trey Burke, who's really coming to life is point in the season. Really amazing bull. Handler incredible speed in his cancer rebounds, vol- incredibly well. There's a lotta guys who are going to be entertaining the crowds in London. What about the chance and shouts? And in UK. We have the wherever you may be. We are the famous. EMC? See have see and what foot and Nick what is the Sean of the New York Knicks. So I think the most iconic is. I just wanted to. I don't I don't wanna t- up. I just want you to go. See I want you to go straight into a man, I'm gonna here we go mic. Whitfield one is the New York. Knicks John D I d I. Words. It's quite repetitive.
