I don't know if they're gonna bring in a veteran but either way yoho lacks career. Boston has done job. There was an article about shea weber and his injury and it could lead to a potential. Nhl players association beef. I don't know if that's going to happen to me. I'm going to try to do that now. He's got thumped foot ankle and knee injuries. elliott friedman had a piece. The other day he noted that the league and the union quote doing their due diligence on the situation and future weapons get five seasons left at a seven point. Eight million dollars cap it but only twelve million and actual cash. So if he were to retire national would be the team. That get fucked on. That cap recaptured thing. Full four point nine million through twenty six if he retires. But i can't imagine happens. I mean i don't see how he doesn't just go on. Ti like pronger survive hosted and so many other guys. And you know just finished. Aaron t- until the the contract runs out. I can't imagine he was going to retire. Leave money on the table but the argument ended up being i. I don't know if it happened. It happened with lewan. Go what happened with. I forget a few of the other names but i will say this. I don't think that longo retired because of injuries. Like if if you're telling me that he's got this laundry list of injuries and he can't play because he physically can't get there. There's gotta be a way to step in and be like. Hey he's not. Because because if nashville ends up getting fucked by this that's bullshit. Well that that's what i think. This whole thing is as far as longo. He he got a job in the organization so they probably you know maybe did something in the back back door. Whatever we're like okay. You might not get all that money but you'll get a job for however many la- however many years i don't know if they can come out and say that type of shit it just seems like it's a story about something that might potentially happen with you know he's got all these injuries he can't play anymore but when these guys are not going to voluntarily retire leave money on the table. Yeah so. I thought this is such a no brainer. Based on the prior ones where. It's like yeah. I'm not retiring. Everyone knows not gonna play again. But i'm not trying to get that money. That's that's what i don't really. I mean well again. I think it's almost like a preemptive story type thing like this could get ugly but it might not know it was in the list of what do you call it topics but today. I don't think these pretty share web of that him and pronger going to be the most dominant pairing in. Nhl history hosa. Dad sued long. Rs air alumni team is going to be like a lightning. Fuck another canadians note. I head coach dom dot com signed a three year extension. No surprise there are after his impressive showing in the playoffs this year. So he'll be behind the cabs bench for the next few years and a very busy month for the shells gonna continue next week in the nhl. Entry draft happens after the expansion draft show still got a lot of stuff and then of course free agency at the end of the months-old still quite a bit of stuff to get to. Let's see boom boom. I before we get to the non hockey stuff. Hey we can't help gm's from getting ripped off this week but we can't help you home from get ripped off. Thanks to our friends at simplisafe when simplisafe home. Security's founders chad and elena lawrence design their first security system in the kitchen. They did it for very personal reason. Their friends had just had the home broken into they were struggling to find security system. "He could do a couple of trips to nobu sack and make up for it. Get the rock shrimp. Get a thousand orders. Maybe get a maybe get isozaki. Get get them a million dollar gift card. Gary doesn't need to know about that. It's right you can remember that restaurant we went to. I'm not gonna throw names out in manhattan a few months ago a few weeks ago. Whatever it was. I got that fit the whole fish in the plate and it was awfully expensive plate. Yeah when biz poor the ip as into the body armor bottle. Yeah that was classic biz. You know i was kind of disappointed. I'm not one to complain about my food. I it was mushy. It was like not a great piece of fish. Guess no all thing no fuck bone skull goldeneye balls in the bones no but going back to columbia the other day right. I was saying you boys last episode. We were going to some island that next day while we took a boat a couple boats to his national park island. Off the coast of dana. And you pull up in his all these huts and they got food and booze and whatever else you need on. That island is absolutely. They'll i like a seafood medley. And i got the same thing a whole fish. The head everything on the plate honesty boys. It was one of the best piece of fish they had obviously probably caught it that day. Ten times better than that fucking slop. I got them at wa. I was pulling the of pot eating the cheeks and everything that speaks to the best part of the fish. Too by the way the gills. Yeah well yeah and like any meat like in the head area. The fish cheeks the good shit. I was legit bones apart on that that multiple you had a good experience. And i guess we won't be going back to that restaurant and nyc me and went well. Yeah i'm going. The sushi was good. I just didn't care for the for the piece of fish or redone on the land. Discussion landy romance an app. You said it. Best biz jobbing. Done second overall pick ben there forever. Let's re-sign let's end up making the call that he gets eight years fifty eight million seven point whatever two year math. Let's get a go fund me going all out to help vote. Let's get him an extra couple of grand i boys you're getting together notes on the crack and sock. I think all that crap on cracking. I really like jere danell. We gotta talk. Won't year down on one year. Left the captain of the calgary flames. He's left unprotected. One year left on his deal. At i think six and a half six seven five years under a no brainer you select. I actually looked at the list. I would select him. I would select dermott from toronto. I would take dylan from washington. Those are my three left hammer hammer. Jensen hammerton gent. So jensen short and dylan or three. D on washington left unprotected. I believe so. There's also a kid from winnipeg. it's not the melo as it yet. Is yup dealings mellow so lets you pay six hundred and fifty million for an expansion team folk. You're gonna get some solid players now from what i'm hearing when when originally when vegas was going into their mindset was we're going to get all these guys and if it doesn't turn out good at least we can move these guys to gain even more assets as far as draft picks so they kind of unload it and then they ended up catching lightning bottle and they were more buyers at the deadline but guiler jeered. Dano they would i in my opinion they would be selecting him in order to bring them over. He's got one year. Left hopefully has a good start to the season. May you're telling me you're telling me that you can't get at least a first rounder. Really nice prospect for team was making a stab at the cup. A hint magin him on your second pairing. He's still playing first. Line minutes in calgary and for those of you who forgot jeered analyst two years removed from winning. The norris like this guy is a furry off. The ice i think i think one of the people he brought to the. Nhl awards ceremony was his trainer. Good buddies with them he's tiptop shape says fars older guys in the league so this is going to be big pickup for them and worst case ontario they ended up slamming him at the deadline gaining a really nice piece back which is going to be the case. If they don't end up having a good start anyway. Think about it man. They're going to have a good solid goaltending. they're gonna get some decent pieces on d. And much like you saw from the vegas gold nights a full roster of of second hungary playing hungry hippos second to third line player so no weak spots and that's pretty much it we talk about eichel. It's all rumors up until this point g says he's hearing rumblings that he expects them to move in the next week so i would imagine probably a year from now. He's getting moved. Hey biz jeered. Donal like heard anything from them. You talk sued or hung up on garin. Wonder he had a reason to be pissed about that. I i know brad tree living. And i know he loves the guys guys and i would imagine he has the biggest soft spot for jeered ano- they had to protect do bay tube as the guy who they chose to protect over him Probably the wise play long. I would assume this is a long conversation that they had and i would hope that. No burgess bridge been burned. But but i hear ya. He's you know he's in the last year of his deal. I'm sure his family settled in there. But you know it's it's a businessman and brad tree living's also under the gun now to man. Did i think. I think this is the beginning of what you see. Some wild changes the summer in. Calgary will no of control be there. I don't know what's going to go on but with what's happened the last few years there so they can't continue going into next season with what's been there before so that's probably part of it right. We gotta change everything up here. Yeah or especially if they go another year without making playoffs playoffs off. See lock everyone. Another game hockey guys. Yeah a few more hockey notes that'll do for the expansion stuff again. There's a lot of names out there but we don't wanna waste time. Just throw name talk more when the roster exactly which again. We're gonna know wednesday night so we can break it down for a little bit more next episode. In the meantime the internet has connected us with the latest news..

"Who who's shaking hands and kissing babies so i don't know if some of these guys when they're done they do like to go back home back over to their The countries where they come from. But i tell you what man Y- never heard a bad thing about the guy i've still to this day. Never never met a bad. Scandinavian are finished guy. Scandinavia was one of the countries in that area. That's not scandinavian. I saw a lot. Always say i always thought it was going away. I'm not sure what i'm going to google it right now. We'll do it. Because i don't know maybe. It's norway and sweetener considered scandinavian finland. I know one. On that you think is a is a ice-skating mix. They might get offended by that so if they do. I'm sorry. I hate using wikipedia but because unless double check it but scandinavia it can refer to denmark norway in sweden so i don't think finland is considered scandinavia dash to. I'll get your biz. We had another retirement as well. Kevin miller retired of the seven. Nhl seasons all with the bruins toughest. Nils defenseman he was a california native played. It you've never drafted became an nhl regular twenty six years old and became a hell of a player. Man he kinda come along and replaced. Adam mcquaid when the bruins needed a guy short. Do that for them. one toughest players of his era. I'd say Because i know we didn't fight as much as other guys. I think people didn't wanna fight him because he was so tough. It's tough like i said toughest. Neil stay at home. Defenceman warrior beloved by his teammates. And he had a run a real bad injuries many broke his kneecap in two thousand nineteen. Then he was rehabbing to get back to the playoffs. Broke it again during the eastern conference finals. Mr whole season was able to come back next year Just a great guy. I was fortunate to meet him chit probably a decade ago before i didn't even know who he was. The bruins had drafted him the organization. Sign onto the deal. And i just randomly met him in the press box shot the show and then he's just such a nice guy couldn't help but roof arm show I was very happy. Got a pretty good career worship. Could've last long but personally want to send congrats that kevin on an absolutely great running again. He was a warrior black and gold wet. I mean it's you've talked about it. Many times the amount of emotional and mental strain that these injuries can pile up and basically. You just can't do it anymore. He came too much. And that's a guy who did every possible thing to get and stay healthy and he was able to get back and it just you know. Sometimes it's not meant to be and that's not to say that his career was an awesome. And i don't think he ever imagined he'd he'd have the career that he did was younger or another guy loved to talk to but unheralded guy coming out of college ready to bide his time and need to earn his spot. And then it's just unfair. Life is so unfair. We've talked about that a million times. But he just couldn't stay healthy and part of it is the physicality in the aggression. He brought to the game and that's how he played. Obviously it's going to be way harder. Stay healthy when you're playing the way he did. But it wasn't even like wasn't even crazy. Plays that got him injured. It was just over time and the kneecap to come back and break it again. That's when you kind of knew it was in one but when you talked about him not fighting that much. Ra was true. I don't think anyone wanted to go the fact that they went from mcquaid damn it was. They were so similar. They'd stand in their beat. Your face in and smile while they did it and then to the nicer guys away from away from the ice. So i saw chris wagner put on a nice post talking about the the ultimate ultimate competitor ultimate teammates. Something like that to that extent so that was a guy when you watch them play. You saw the improvement to throw his career. He kept getting better and better. All of a sudden he worked with adam. oates try. we talked with him. Work without noticeably making head fakes making decisions with the puck that he wasn't able to came into the league so not only was he getting. You know more minutes in big rolls team. He was getting better and better as a player. Skill was throughout that so definitely unfortunate. I feel bad for him. I know exactly how he feels in terms of not being able to stay healthy and i wish them the best because he was a great player and i think all the bruins players are really miss him while said buddy well said well we've been going for almost an hour and a half. "I'll leave it at that Coyotes made some good moves. And i think that they're going to be looking to unload even more guys. I heard christian d'ivoire acts names in the mix. They basically said anybody's fair game at this point in time. Other than jacob chicken asked ask smash a forty nine foot twenty sixty nine on twitter. This which one asks mashal when he saw. I got the fuck it twitter handle about what chart all of them probably boston. You balls buddy on like. Oh yeah i love you. I've been hearing is like some guy was east and it was mine. It was my burner. Yeah i've been hearing online. The coyotes are going to the challenge. So you just have to leave the league. An- another guy who's who's up for a big contract. Connor garland so. I don't i don't know if i don't know if they're going to sign him and then move him or or Trade him now because he's a restricted free agent so some teams going to need his services but the coyotes needs to get worse before they get better. We gotta get some high end. Picks in here. And i've said enough of that. Why are you laughing. Because i kept talking about the oats. I'm laughing as you say. They get worse before the better got much worse. We have to get bizarre. I'll moving along. A long island is also re up. Andy green veteran defenseman one year. Seven hundred fifty k. Two hundred and fifty k. and bone. This guy doesn't leave no. He was left but you know he was a pretty good steady veteran. Presence of the last couple of years in the island is in the playoffs show and just to go back to that aden hildale. San jose traded a second in two thousand twenty two in goalie josef coronado to arizona for aden hill and a seventh in twenty two hilas arafat made eight hundred k. Lajja pretty good prospects for me at a pretty decent year Phoenix last year cup. All the signings pittsburgh signed for teddy blue busy just mentioned him two years. Four point four million dollar deal calgary. Signed ford richie to a one year. Nine hundred thousand dollar deal dallas also added. I'm sorry also traded jason dickinson disorderly. They traded d. jason dickinson vancouver for third in twenty twenty one and florida reupped. Anthony declared three nine dollar deal in. Defenseman gustav forsling three eight million dollar deal going going to forsling People seem to love him and then that number they got him at now also do claire. He was left unprotected as well. Right all right after signing the deal. Yeah where whereabouts. Another guy who might get picked up in that expansion drafts i would. I would pick him deal for three million. So i mean he's proven like granted he's proven it on one year deals lately. You know when he's has to play well. But i don't know who else have the entire florida list in front of me but that guy can move could skate. And it's not a huge hit. I wouldn't be shocked if that's picked by seattle and boys. We had a couple of retirement. Since we last met pecker rene retired after fifteen. Nhl seasons all spent with nashville played six hundred eighty three games easy franchise leader in games. Played wins goals against time on ice shutouts and saves nhl history. He's one thousand. Nine hundred shouts tied for nineteenth and wednesday won. The vezina back in. Eighteen was a finalist three other times. Most games played wins and shadowed by finnish. Goalie of obviously the best in national franchise history. He kinda really helps solidify the make them become a contender in he had the option. He said he had the option to come back but he just felt the time was right now in any hung up any thoughts boys on beckoning and without knowing the guy you you just hear nothing but great things and now we say this guy's to retire but this guy truly was one of the favorite predators to ever play in that organization fans absolutely loved them. You so friendly. He treated everyone with such respect. And i remember when he won the vezina he gave an emotional like teary eyed speech. I think it was fourth try. I was reading trying to get the best and he finally won it and gave this amazing speech where you kind of saw the character and and a guy who's worked so hard to become one of the top always in the league and did he not have some seasons their holy shit he was a monster increase for he was so big. I think he was one of the. I'm not gonna say this is why at all. But he was one of those first. Huge goal is when you're like. Is this the future. You seek mas- leschi you see how tall and big some of these goals are and rene made it. Look so easy. And i think that when you see teammates talk about him joel ward gave a quote nath athlete carl article i read about how great of a guy was so down to earth. It also said not that after every game win or lose. He's meeting young kids at the game whether they were sick or whether they were going through tough times. He's the guy who's getting down low talking on face to face. And the way he played was just he made the you made it look so easy when he was on there was just nothing to shoot at and i i mean you got to respect them to. He's retiring he didn't have to but he realizes is his heart isn't in the game anymore is head isn't in the game but that's the guy who was a predator hall of fame. I don't know if they have that. Maybe he does end up getting his number retired there someday but the fans were so grateful and the way. The season ended to gave the skate around the rink. I don't know if you remember the lap around the rink in his last game or last home game. Whatever it was so a goaltender will be remembered. Forever mean he won vezina trophy and he was a dominant player for a long time in the nhl. So congrats on an amazing career. You talk about growing the game too. And i mean you go down to nashville and you just see the way that the players in iraq and to see a guy of that stature doing it and you know we always the culture. The culture the culture. I ended up going down there to nhl first timers with jalen ramsey. And you see during warm all the fans and all the guys give knuckles on the glass. I mean i think. Pk was still there at the time you do it. And he's one of those guys that he you know. He created the culture there. And that's the reason why this nontraditional hockey market was able to to rise to where they have where they're selling out the building all time and it's the biggest party in town so congratulations on a wonderful career arena. Hopefully we can get him on the podcast. To talk about it now are was any. Was there any mention of him. Sticking around with organization or is he just to kinda back off for a year. And i didn't read anything that's not to say that's not true. I don't know if that's what he's going to do right now. I get the impression he was kinda step away from a bit. But i'm sure that's the type of organization he's the type of player. Where if he wanted to do anything. Yeah gladly opened the door for a guy. Like i think they got ben vander clock. There's goalie coach right now but not even necessarily to be a goalie coach but just to be a guy who's around the rink and you know maybe the management's able to to pull them in where they can vet situations and get his opinion on things or even just be a guy who who's shaking hands and kissing babies so i don't know if some of these guys when they're done they do like to go back home back over to their The countries where they come from..

"To hop on a couple of things. I'll probably have to mention that you you get to talk to a real life human. That just tells you. The era were in tokyo a lot. I zero zero zero zero until i get a human on the phone. That's same here But going back to that carlo deal. I don't think you necessarily want to be the guy in boston making a little bit too much money either because if things aren't going well that's probably a fan base. You wanna keep on your side. Do you think that factors into it. I don't think fans are going to get on people for that. I just think it's a within the team. Philosophy like guys are just gonna take below market to stay there. What the opportunity to win. I don't know how much longer that's gonna last season went last year. And you know people like myself thought. They were a lot stronger than they were going to. The playoffs in the island said hey. You're not quite where you think you are. So i don't know how much longer this arizona go onto because obviously getting surgery. We don't know exactly what he's gonna be back but Yeah you wonder how on that. I don't know. I don't have comradery. I guess you'd call. It is going to last a room like that. I mean eventually guys are going to want wanna get paid What the what they're worth but it's an interesting dichotomy for the bruins right now. I'm kinda like that word biz. i don't even know what it is. Well we'll save landed squad for a little bit because that's kind of tight ties into the ball. Atlanta scott talk. Yeah well we're also big trades going on busy. You gotta bluebottle lindskog talk. I mean philadelphia. Everyone's been talking about the d for years. They went out and they got themselves. Ryan ellis from national. That's a huge fucking traded junior. They sent film. Maya ready greet. Each the gritty junior philly traded film is unknown. Patrick to nashville for ryan ellis. They show up there. D. would've vet lead then. Nashville went and traded patrick to vegas. Ford cody glass. He was their first ever draft picks. Vegas is already traded. Their first draft picks from the first round that first year suzuki went for patchy and traded on. What's his face brannstrom for mac stone soul. They don't have any. I yeah picks left but ellis a thirty year. Old rights yati. He's six years left at six point. Two five mil. i mean. he's a top four guy in national talk pegguy guy anywhere else like he's gonna be in philly. What was your reaction to this one biz. We'll go you i. Yeah whoa. That's a nice one to punch now with provorov. Who is another defenseman in this league. That is that young as an absolute stallion. Now on the good news for nashville is and who's also what what they have. They've always been good at drafting and developing and they're actually the only team in this expansion draft to protect five defensemen. Yup protect four right. Most teams went with a seven three one model so in order to relieve a little bit of cap space. Of course it's hard to say goodbye to ryan ls. But if you have other guys coming up. And i mean poile is proven time and time again that he's able to draft the fence develop them and if he thinks he can get the same type of production from guys making far less. Yes it was. It was probably the time to move on from him. So a great pickup philadelphia. They did need help on the back end. They never ended up getting what they thought they were going to get from gaza. Spare now. correct me if i'm wrong. He's still on the roster with them. And i would imagine that they're they're gonna hope maybe he could turn the corner and giving them the production that they expected and or move on from them. But i think that this was a great trade for everyone involved. Nolan patrick another guy. Who's been dealing with head issues. Beloved in the locker room. He ends up going over to vegas who has tried to add a little bit adept at the center ice position. He did not produce to the level of of which we expected last season. But that's him coming off a full year missed with the head problems. Now the shitty thing for vegas is they have to move on from cody glass. The only thing about cody glass. That would scare me is the fact that he hasn't played a lot of hockey in the last couple years. He was highly touted coming out of junior. He played four years there. I think he was a couple of years. He ended up averaging over one hundred points. And but we haven't seen what he can do at the pro level at the ahl. He was very dominant. But we have not seen with this kid's been able to accomplish at the nhl level based on what expectations were. So i thought. I hope i did a good job of summarizing all of it. We know exactly what we're going to expect from ryan alice skies an incredible defenseman going to provide a lot to the back end for philadelphia. I think everybody wins in this trade. I'm interested to see if they pair him over off the other. Which would be a sec. Top pairing. I don't know if they're going to try to spread that out. We'll see what goes on there but together they could be formidable formidable on the blue line together playing In terms of glass and Excuse me patrick it. They kind of remind me of each other. And i know glass hasn't had the injuries but it's too young guys lottery. Picks glass was sixth nolan. Patrick was what second or third you second so two guys. there haven't really done. What what you know. Both teams thought they would when they were picked that high. So let's give him a fresh start. And i think Nolan patrick has a lot of Familiar familiarity is that the mcraven from his time in the whol. And then cody glasses. A guy who. I don't think he's the best skater. That's one question. Mark skill level super high. But like you said busy. Hasn't played a ton so this is one of those things. If both guys went on to star in in philly in vegas. I wouldn't be surprised now right now. You can't really pencil them in for being elite talk to line players because they haven't proven it yet but the skills there that's why they were drafted that high. Let's see if they can take off in a new role and maybe coated. Glass gets a chance that he never gotten vagus. He was never given the opportunity. I don't know if he deserved it to play on top to roll so in philly. He's going to go there. Maybe he gets that chance and we'll see what happens but two guys looking for fresh start that makes sense i love. Ls one of the best shots in the league. From the point you could skate. He could play a ton of minutes. No matter nashville protects five defensive but they're still losing a twenty three minute per game guy and so i think it's going to be hard for them to get over that but they do have the depth to be able to do it. The thing in nashville in terms of not protecting johannesen and and do shane is interesting. Because we're one of those guys get selected both making eighty year But nashville is making moves and pekka rene retired. So we'll go into that but a crazy week overall and for that organization to see that much change is Is is not crazy but it certainly different. I just want to hop in their quick. You misspoke cody. Glass of course. Going to nashville. Sorry so whereas yeah. There's a there's a lot going on with my brain. I'm thinking somebody holding the park. It's even to this expansion draft situation. Now we got. We got a few more beats gets a lotta shit to talk about like i said i know the expansion stop is big news that the list but the only thirty of these guys are going to end up getting picked..

"Well what you want to talk about that a bargains in the league cup the deal. The bruins signed defense brandon collartoo. Six years twenty. Four point six mil. He took bridge deal before. This only comes out to four point. One average annual value. This is a guy was probably giving up some money on the table. He's a huge part of the beast. Top-four guy plays in the right side. Behind shelly mcevoy. Were you surprised. They miss cheap. No i think that as quickly where does does the concussion aspect yup scare you at all and maybe a reason that they were able to get that number down exactly what i was just gonna say. I think that as odd as this sounds. His injury has kind of helped the bruins in this negotiation and for sure they'd rather pay the guy more and have them be completely healthy but it's scary right. Is it too now are in the past. Two years was it three. He had to and fucking three months. Yeah you know you're looking at a team in an organization spent through one of the best players of all time and bergeroo on missing a full year and he was able to come back and be this world class players. You hope carlos okay. But he's definitely a guy who opened himself up. Some of these hits. And the wilson hit people. They went nuts about got a big suspension for it. But maybe a little bit better protecting yourself. I'm not blaming him at all. Don't try to twist my words around but in the end you gotta be able to protect yourself while playing the game. He does and i think he's good enough defensively. He shown that when he's not in the lineup. They are not even close to the same team. So he's deserving of this deal but they were able to get it at a number. I think's very fair for the team because of the past injuries and because of the issues. And you never really know what's going to happen here. You don't know like this kid knock on wood fuck and hope to god. It doesn't get another one but it is a deal there signing with some risk involved no doubt but i mean it's a classic case we always go back to the sidney crosby interview. If you don't take less than it doesn't trickle down. And this is a classic case of that entire roster you look at them they all fall in line. They all want to stay together. They wanna win. They put that they put winning more of a value as in what getting an extra two hundred fifty to five hundred thousand dollars a year. And you're kinda you know. You're seeing a bit of a tough situation right now in colorado and and and i'm sure one situation that joe sachs looking at is you know once you give that money to the top guy will one of the top guys atlanta skog. What type of precedent does that send to the rest of the group who are going to eventually have to sign as well. I mean i don't expect mckinnon to take a bargain bargain deal and i don't expect mccarter take a bargain deal but if you see the top guys do it. You're more than likely to say. Yeah do i need one hundred hundred million career earnings or or is ninety. Okay do i want my name. And the company that's should be the determining factor. I mean not. Not every guy going to be the only thing. But i mean that's where you play fun and should we shift over to shipped over to that topic is that is that one that you had down for actually a little bit further but first biz. We're having all this talk.

"Candles final. Two years of his deal he had two more years left at six point. Three five million. He is now unrestricted. Consigned where he wants. And like whitsett sucker. I but i think he's pretty happy to get a fresh dot somewhere. We again like you said what he's wanted. Florida sorry ari quickly in when i bring up by oats and how. They're happening so often. You even heard like nugent-hopkins contract with eight years like they're probably planning on after year six. That could be a bio. That's how the contracts are done now where you get the average deal you get the average cap it down by adding onto the years. Hear a lot about landis skog maybe colorado can get the money down by giving them the eighth year and these teams know now. They won't be there they won't they will not be there for the end of these deals. So when even when parisi and suit assign those thirteen year deals it's like are they still going to be playing then now if those guys retire by the way minnesota can be a really fucked a couple. Couple things about the nugent-hopkins now. That's probably one of the reasons why he ended up signing a more fair deal than than what we may be expected based on his achievement. Because i don't what is he making just just under five. I think he signed for a four and a half eight dollars but keep in mind though. I don't think moving forward it's going to be as bad as it as it is right now. This pandemic really fucked a lotta things up and the fact that it's a flat cap with these. Tv deals kicking in at that point in time. Getting our an h. At whatever he's making is given with how trains in the off season. I think he's gonna be okay at that time. But let's find your point. Seven five point seven for. oh shit. I got Also ridiculing the flat cap. And we'll get into this and all these other moves. It's going on a lot of these younger restricted guys besides has skin and we'll go into his monster deal but a lot of these guys when you talk about my car. They might just look for the bridge deal to let that get back up before the hammer home. A monster once. So we'll see how it goes on with. Some of these are a face but it is a weird time with the flat cap and teams having a do gymnastics to get these the roster set. I think i was thinking about ericsson. Ac. maybe with the foreign change number so sorry your money up the middle this so many details i think is going to be tons more to follow given a month chatter going on so far but those are the two big buyouts that while say three big buyouts going on but a couple of huge deal signed dallas a defenseman miro hyphen as it has can do. We have we figured out. Is it heston. I i hear every every version of a but either way. He got his payday eight years. Sixty seven point six million dollars extension. It's an eight point four five. Av got no move clause the last four years Dallas locks up their best d. by likely sets the market for huge emma. Cars well It's the biggest contract ever for finn in any gel history. What you can't really be surprised. Got this dough given what we've seen from this so far. No not at all one of the best skaters in the league. Minute much can and play. The entire game can play. Pk against the top lines. He is a world class player. Already at the ripe age twenty two. Now i will say this in that dough that he's making you expect fifty to sixty points. You know what i mean like. You're looking at a guy there that when you're making that much money you need him to produce offensively. Now he showed in the playoffs in the bubble i think he had like twenty five points in twenty games or know twenty six points in twenty seven games that run to the cup final in the playoffs the year prior in the edmonton bubble but he had thirty five points in sixty eight games that year. This season he had twenty seven points in fifty five games now. He's playing so many minutes and playing such good hockey maybe in the end they don't care if he's a forty point guy because he does enough but i look at it like faulk. You're making that much. So i think you need to do a little bit more offensively. He's so young clem. Burke is also running the power. Play there at some point. He'll maybe have a chance to take over that number one unit and play in a more offensive role but an unreal player. Who not one not one. Gm not one player around the league not one fan of the dallas stars questions that contract and i truly believe that because the way this kid can skate and the way the game's played now. He is someone you lock up for as long as possible. Because he's a fantastic player to watch and for younger defencemen. That are trying to play in the nhl. He's a perfect. Emulate your game after not many can because of how he moves but he can do it also i love the signing will fully agree on the fact when you make that much money defenseman. You need to be relied upon and every situation. Now they're few pretty cool moments. I got to experience when i started my career. One of which mentioned a few times with the vegas expansion. Seeing derek england speak and then go on an absolute crazy run in that first year i was there for the first ever game in vegas. I was also there for his Haskins i ever. Nhl shift against the coyotes. And from the minute that fucking faceoff happened and he was just zipping up and down the ice like he was a fucking fourth forward karen and in the mail. I knew this was going to be special. And you'd think about guys are defensemen specifically twenty three and under i would say there's about five or six of them that i would hand this type of money over to you. Mentioned two them are a kalema car. Who's probably going to be making a couple more than that. Quinn hughes zach renske. Hey skin in an atom fox those guys twenty three and under those are the five studs i can think of the top of my head. Who's renske that young twenty three years old. He i think he went to university of michigan. For one year. I actually played against doc. Renske in the ahl. He joined that team in lake erie when they want it right. It was a who the fuck is. This guy knew that that going to be the only time he spent the h. l. Basically stole another calder cup. Right off my finger was supposed to be a two-time ulster and a two-time call their cuddle if it wasn't for that fuck head full so anyway i'm happy gotta bridge deal actor actually but but well-deserved and mike you saturday with any any jam in the league would have handed over that money and i think of course and i say it time and time again the fact that no state tax in in dallas probably help them getting got him at a little bit of our in texas. It's both thousands in texas tro direct. Thank you all right. Help them get that average down even maybe a little bit more. So congratulations to him. They gotta start on the back end and and he locked in a long time and the cap. It's eight five. Sorry eight eight point. Four five ak the so when the cap goes back up and this pandemics in our complete rear view mirror and five years eight point. Four or five am might look awesome. You might be laughing at this deal and four or five years so when i said that you look at deals and you look at bio says of very possible scenario at the end i'm talking. Ufa's this guy in eight years we'll be in his prime so this is not a worried all and it's a completely different situation and that's a cap it talked at the end of this deal and you may be thinking. He's one of the better bargains in the league. Well what you want to talk about that a bargains in the league cup the deal. The bruins signed defense brandon collartoo. Six years twenty. Four point six mil. He took bridge deal before. This only.

"That nancy. Kerrigan shit went down. That's where she was from. Tonya harding so all we knew that it was tonya. Harding's bodyguard yet. Jeff hooley the most the biggest name of a goon that would hit a figure skater with a metal pipe known to man. Jeff guli just sounds like a goon as a guilty name. But i before we get the highlights. I just want to say real quick. One last columbia shadow to incorrect congrats. My buddy's still in his new wife. Mary was an awesome time. A true adventure lots and also to my boy. Dej is one time buddy of mine. We haven't got together and he as ultimate road roommate just like no no one of the talk. Just no communication. We know what each is up to so an ideal road roommate for eight days in columbia. Leave it at that. The best thing about being home. Jesus is that. I can finally find pink whitney once again had a struggle finding down there. So i'm gonna hit my local asap to load up on a few mickey's the three hundred and seventy five million a bottle. The nice convenient size comes in handy to grab so grab yours before. The clock is already rented out on summit. Almost the end of july boys only two weeks left. You're not going to be problem finding it. The little birdie told me that it will be heading over to europe pretty soon. Ooh pink whitney and let me tell you. That's or your defense and swedes have been asking for this liquor since it was invented. So i think it's going to hammer time scandinavia and england and england guys. But he doesn't want to go there so sorry. the label is going to be in. Different languages will be the same like depending on the country. I don't know a great question. We'll find out soon enough. England all speaks english. And sodas tweeden. They all speak english. So i think they'll probably be the same. Maybe if we can get over to prague the throat and some check writing my boy lot of slavs mead knows how to read it before he drinks. The whole thing should reach out to peter forsberg to to get involve because i mean he was able to move all the crocs over there. So i'm sure you can move pink whitney. He can move anything. he's on a stamp. Yeah pretty much. And that's an outland all right boys. Let's move along to the nhl. Transactions of the last week in quite a few of them have different degrees in varying importance. The big one. I would say minnesota buys out both forward zach perez and defenseman ryan suit at nine years after they bolt signed thirteen. Nine hundred million dollar deals parisi wasn't a big surprise given how his season wet but suda certainly was. I guess he was so pissed off her buddy russo at the athletic usually hung up the phone on billy garin garin call told me was being bought out his agent neil. She said that he was planning on being there forever. Obviously that's not going to happen. And the thing is minnesota's gonna save a little ten million this year but they're gonna get walt the next few years but a billy garin said this was an opportunity. Figured if he's going to do one you might as well do both and get the savings. This shia but either way biz. Let's go to you first. On this south shock we that suited up out. I was gonna snap it over to wit because he knows a little bit about the the american side of things but as you said a shock maybe suitor but definitely not to parisa given how it all transpired. After the ended up getting beat out of playoffs he was a little bit. Snippy in a press conference probably not treated by the head coach way. He would've liked throughout the season. We remember that issue when he ended up becoming a healthy scratch because he tried to make the play over to one of his teammates. On the empty-netter ella going back. The other way and the other team tied it up. But i mean i could understand given the deterioration maybe those not playing to a level. They once did in especially with the amount of money. They're making. I was a little surprised at the fact that they did it. Given the repercussions of the buyout situation. You mentioned. Ram bad but what they're going to be getting kicked in. That's a little bit for the next three years after that regarding this bio yes biz. No doubt and after a little bit of relief this year the following year. I believe the team is going to get charged. Thirteen million right around thirteen million against the cap and then the next two years it's around fourteen million so big time penalties for them to go through with this but when you talk about garin and what he's done he's made it very clear that his job requires very difficult decisions What i really respect about him now. I know bill. Bill garin a little bit. I think he's one of the most respected gm's in the game because how he played. And when i say being a gm being respected it goes into. He's been through all this. He was bought as a player he was traded as a player. He's been through everything he knows. How difficult the this is. And i'm sure there was parts of him. That felt bad but he also is in working with the owner leopold. He knows this is what they had to do. Now parisi biz. You said no surprise. I'm not surprised at all. And you hear about teams that he could sign with lamb morello and jersey's been close with forever from all his time in limited. The islanders. Excuse me and police with him in new jersey and then also was his coach. When police used the captain went to the cup finals in two thousand twelve to maybe vagus a spot he can land but no doubt. His game is You know not where it once was. He's getting older. He's had a lot of miles on them. He's played for a long time. We'll see where he ends up the the suitor one was surprising because he played a lot of minutes for them. I think he still considers himself. Know top four defenceman in the league but if you look at it i mean bill. Garin has tough decisions to make. They have to get capri soft sign. They have to get fiala sign and he just thought the timing was best now if he was going to do it he had to do both of them together and in the end i mean they made enough money to be set for five lifetimes and not their fault entirely but they didn't really get anything done there right. I mean in. How many years did they play out of that. Deal nine nine so nine of the thirteen years. They went to the second round twice one times. They were swept the other time. I don't know how many games they were beat and they beat colorado one year. They beat saint louis next year in the first round so in the end i mean. They didn't. They didn't do what they were brought there to do now. That is a little harsh sounding because by no means fall on their own but for suitor to hang up on bill garin..

"If they were standing in the spot i would block the parking space or they wouldn't be able to pull my dad said even when they got there he said oh you know what are you. Want to play your game too. It's like the seinfeld. When george and the other guy waited all night overnight they waited one guy that wasn't with a standard though. I think george from signed for what just killed the guy if he was standing but it was more of that argument was i pulled the head of the spot to back in the correct way. You're supposed to parallel park. And then some guy tried doing the front front squeeze in and that's an old tv show. But yes so. I'm glad to hear you guys are on my side. The only excuse. Already that i could give is like if it's if it's something where they're gonna be there within like sixty seconds to maybe a couple minutes where they just like. Hey run overground ashton the car. Yeah oh i was just trying to defend the other side. But i think it's absolutely ridiculous and that should should not have an ra. Have you ever been in a situation like that. would someone getting out of spot to stand it. I don't think i've ever seen it or had anyone do it. I mean if you do it you gotta be within thirty seconds of pocket like you have to be a u-turn like like what you said seinfeld you gotta be like within fifty ads. I don't think you can hold a flight to three minutes. But the thing is you probably can't because unless someone like what comes along and barrels jewish most people aren't gonna have their bluff called and the people are just gonna say fuck it. They can have the spot as far as turnaround pocket right within the street. I don't know if i should be able to kneel at pretty plot plot to us it was fudge. Kids mom just ruined in your lives. I walked by fudge fudge based right after. I got the boat so i said this i said call. I'll give you this if it's if it's a big football stadium parking lot and it's a tailgate. Okay because you know you wanna be next to your buddies and there's so many other spots but if you're on a one a one way where you have two parallel. No no no. no no no. No no no and big. Dan whitney came through with alternate argument. Kinda seal it was kind of over for my brother and his girl. Claire after this he said and you can't walk through a drive thru. you cannot walk through a drive thru if you walk through drive thru at mcdonald's we ain't serving you. You got to be in a car the same way you got to be in a car to save a parking spot. Is that true. You can't walk the walk through drive thru. I tried to go on trial. Serve you on a bike before they wouldn't serve me on a bike once they won't serve anyone nuts not in a car. Yeah i mean. That's what i figured. I'm on a bike on wheels and driving through. They should concern me but everything. But rollerblades saying ninety i would say ninety eight percent of people who listen to this podcast have common sense and would agree with your take and then the other going to be good for you. I love you the other two percent. I know sorry. I'm sorry to get away from the hockey talk but it came right into my mind. I oh we had another one to bring up later. it's not it's not happening columbia. There's no way that that that that's happening down there air. You had a bullet in the back of the head biz. Can you believe they stopped. This guy for random bag stretch at logan airport when i return to this country from columbia magic listener working tsa. I think they would just read all the fucking worst jokes in my twitter replies. So last two weeks and they both this guy was dumb enough to do but dog came by for a sniff. I waited and costumes. I flew in from panama at the boston. Which by the way. What a gorgeous flight. it's all water. You can go right over cuba right. Over the bahamas. You can see like myrtle beach manhattan in the distance. Your guy likes to look out the window on a flight absolutely gorgeous views but you know. I land like windows open at customs. At logan it takes forever. I finally get my bag and two guys. There were very nice. They were doing their job very polite. I didn't write the names and i go. Hey what's up. What are you doing there. "And Pat Maroon. So if you could just get a little something going and get that first point, you know our first goal this season under his belt. Like you said, I think that's going to give him A big a big boost of confidence and definitely affected play in a positive way. Lastly, Kaylee, What do you expecting tonight? Typically, we've seen this second game of a back to back, especially with the team that loses comes out and plays with more urgency. You would anticipate national coming out flying tonight. I would have thought Nashville come out flying. You know, last night, I think they did, and I actually think they did a better job than they had in previous games That Limiting the Lightning's more dangerous chances. They did keep him to the perimeter. I thought more in the first period despite being pretty badly outplayed. Um, they both teams defended. Well, I think eventually Nashville, you know they were exposed in the Lightning just kept coming in waves at a certain point, but I think Nashville at this point, they're desperate and they know they're playing the best team. Like you said. I expect them to come out. No guns blazing tonight, and I think it's probably going to be the hardest game that they've given the lightning if I would guess because they need it and they're so they're struggling right now in the standings. And the great job will talk to during the first intermission. Report. Thanks great. All right. Kelly Kelly is joining us right there. John Cooper's up next for about 20 minutes out before we get you set for lighting and creds. It's happening right here on letting radio Amalie motor oil tips his hat to the manly man. Manly Man. You caught up with the former Bleu chicken parm one of the great nicknames Ray Ferraro Give us a tangere update on what chicken Parm is up to these days. Well chicken parm retired as a Saint Louis Blueberry number thirteen if you remember Toyota's ACL and He's he's married The hall of Famer and the Gold Medal winner in Cammi Granato They've got two kids And both their kids are incredible athletes soccer players and I've I did. I just love the guy. I go on golf trips with them. Every summer He's a competitive. Hazardous Guy always always has been He's fun to be around our nickname when we get on the road or it's not. It's not that you know it's not that slick of nickname name but we seem to get dumber as we as we get together on the road. So we are Harry and Lloyd. We're on these big golf trips and Yeah so he he does a great job. He's one of my favorite if not my favorite analysts to listen to on the television side. He works full time for. TSN Does all the National Games. And I think he's just got such a quick tongue and a quick. What about him? He always had that as a player and now is the broadcast You can't put anything by him and he's he's a sharp was get dumb and dumber. I liked it Harry and Lloyd the chicken Parm and Panger. I should mention it. Is it sorta homecoming week for kids. That grew up in Saint. Louis Got Matthew could chuck Thursday night. Calgary granted there in town more often than in Tampa Bay but boy matthew seems to have elevated his game up there and we saw that when he played against the blues he scored some of the most magnificent goals. I've seen this year and it's getting better and better for this kid. He's you know what he's he's he's the whole package I if I'm goaltender playing against Matthew Ca Chuck he drives you crazy crazy because he'll always stick around the blue paint and he's got great hands And he's he never stops talking and if you're a defensive he's GonNa be crazy 'cause it's gonNA keep through. I didn't do it at the net and you're gonNA keep pounding away as well and And then if you're a a a right winger because he plays left-winger you're going to be constantly on the face up that he's he's just just the remarkable kids they've been talked to gain the right way and And I'm I'm glad too risky. NHL because there's there's hope for the young kids here Martin when you've got good kids like this that take traitors out of you know by the Voice of beer handle it the right way. They're just they've just been taught wealth by their mom and dad and I love watching them imply how about the fact big wall. We talked him once a week. He's out on the road and I'm like where are easy Hold on a second. I think I'm in Duluth and what I said. What the Hell is this guy doing but he loves it? He's out scouting he's looking at college kids. And it's gotTa be pretty cool when you're a scout for you know some other team and you walk into billion you're sitting next to again scored over five hundred goals. I mean I think people would be surprised that he's out there grinding. I would agree with you and I'm glad you said that because people people just assume that these great players yeah. They're just front office guys. They come in whenever they want. They don't know that he's putting in the work and You know and also like going out there and scouting a college. Let's play that hasn't been drafted or or clear that you could maybe get in the sixth or seventh round or something like that. He's he's put it on the line he's going into Doug Armstrong and he's going into the Bill Armstrong and say no this is. This is the guy this is why I like them and you know so. I mean he's being tested every single day with his with his knowledge and his hockey accurate. And we'll kind of players that but he likes it and and He's put into work. So that's that's again. That's that's speaks volumes about the work ethic he hands out the weekly Panger brought to you by the good folks turban chestnut one of our sponsors here. As well. "Do. You know any and then caught the attention of his own bench and now his own benches kind of percolating. Now now we got something going here Last year at the beginning of the year when the blues were really struggling I found that even taproom I found Pat Maroon Lionel Riley in the new players that they had tyler Bosak they. They were all very quiet. They didn't want to step on anybody's toes. And then as they started growing in January and February March and Pat. MAROONS game started. You know improving proving and he was playing on that line with Bosak and Thomas mckean. More confidence He was able to go to the other teams bench. You able to talent. Mark Cycling Winnipeg series. He was able able to challenge. I remember challenging the Toronto Police Coach. WE'RE IN TORONTO. And it just kind of the whole bench went. Whoa what is going on over there? And it's having Maroon. You know stirring things up it's Dole Edmonson would do the same thing and so you know who those two personalities. Well what do you have. You have to fewer guys that are that are our guys with energy and the guys conserve and the guys that don't wind up gloves biting so I I always liked Troy Brouwer. When he was with this team that he also had that timing that he could also step up and say something at the right time you could also go up to another teams you know player And and challenge. That player didn't have to fight. He's gotta get his grill a little bit so I think that's AH needed component. I think Doug I'm on You know I think he saw that as well and we'll know soon enough for hours gonNA stick. What do you think he can still bring at? This point is part of it that that sort of edge that you just talked about. Is that something that appeals. You still got to be able to skate. Still gotTa have something left the tank but is that part of the appeal for Doug Armstrong. Right now I I think it is. I think the conditions North Roy hours impressed. Everybody and He's I mean so. That's that's one number two I think he's he's Energized energized if to finish his career on his own terms not the way that it was going to end which was he goes to Florida's training camp walk on. He has a really good really good training. Camp should've made the team and at the last minute they pull the plug because younger player that they were afraid. They'RE GONNA lose on waivers so so he gets. Let go. So that's disappointing feeling when you're a player that That you know that you're not in control of when it's going to go so I think he wants to give it everything he's got. So what's he gets into the lineup. Or Doug Armstrong chooses you know Troy Brouwer And signed him to a deal. And I believe Wednesday's the deadline for him today is the deadline for Mcginn But I see I see brower having the edge in that department and I think the You know the familiarity and the history of what he's done to the Saint Louis Blues. I could see Doug Armstrong leaning towards toy our friend panger update when we come back great to have urban chestnut on board you know about their great fear and the Great Beer Garden hanging out in the Grove they've expanded there's just been the explosion of craft. It's more than just this fear that you're enjoying the part of the movement in Saint Louis getting things done and changing the whole area there the grove. Because they've got some they've got a little bit of balls they'll push back. Take care of each other to. It's fun to watch man. They're really on a work team at the very spirit in the team attitude. You guys are good man really good and it's fun for the city. You know I mean I've I grew up here. You grew up here. Everybody's got like three cardinals shirts in their closet. "He convinced him that that's where he needed to be in order for this team to turn things around and start winning again and Alexander Steen told them if that's what you want coach. And if that's what you think I need to do and help to help this team win. That's what I'll do, and when he made the decision and said, okay, that's the role all play everyone else on this team just followed along. And that was a really important thing for him to do swallow his pride a little bit. But it obviously has turned out, and it was the coach's idea Alexander Steen ends up winning a Stanley Cup.
