"Return game against the Tennessee. Titans the defense continues to be the strength of this team. Can You freaking believe a twenty point win at Arrowhead in the snow today spoiling the homecoming of July. No question about it and as this four straight games with the opponents under twenty points to the last three teams haven't scored at least ten points on on the Kansas City chiefs. I love what they're doing. I thought it'd be all around. Game is told you during pre-game with special teams with the field goals by butger lists and it's not easy to kick as we saw that I Extra point not easy defense. Dropped the pick six defense scores in the chiefs scored at least thirty points. If one thornhill Makes that catch or the honey. Badger had a couple that just got out of his hands because of that snow. But this Denver Team you look at this team and say well. They're just not very good. They played well. They scored thirty eight points on on the road against Houston last week but chiefs putting things together but not only that for those that were saying worse Pat Holmes. Where's this offense patients it's patients and again it's not been optimal conditions for him? Landau four weeks. Go back to the chargers game. He had the altitude. Then you had the the wind game and then you had playing Lingyu England against the guest the number one scoring defense in the NFL and who knows how long the Patriots were filling the chiefs weeks before who knows what they knew and then today in the snow. Twenty seven of thirty four three hundred forty yards a couple touchdowns players according to the snow doesn't bother them as much. That's the thing snow doesn't bother me. The rain is about the a wind. Bets would really get some pet mahomes. You know for any question about that hand. Keep this in mind to write. Jay Glazer talked sprained hand. You know before the game the chiefs were concerned learn. How concerned were they? Even there is at the end of the game handed the.

"Possible question would you take them over everybody in league with you taking over Pat Holmes I mean I would have been and that would be crazy to even bring up a year ago right but I don't know that that I mean my only concern is can you stay healthy plan that kind that style football what one of my golf guys said today no way in the hardware time out Lamar Jackson he said wait a minute did you talk about the same things about Colin Kaepernick anaconda what will we see I sorted did when the great your present Cisco but not at this level good good Capper Nick was good but he's not he's not as good as Lamar Jackson is right now he just seems like he can do whatever he wants out there like yeah you know I don't know if it was the second or the third touchdown but he he threw a touchdown pass the they they call the touchdown then overruled and put it through a penalty out there to take it off the board and he's like all right just give me two more plays and I'll do the exact same thing again yeah and I know it's verses the jets but it seems like he can do whatever he wants out there and barring injury I think he's going he's going to be really good for awhile unless he gets injured right let's see gets the the injuries like Robert G. Robert Griffin did when he ran around get this this is this is Lamar Jackson is a month younger than the guy who's going to win the Heisman they show Berle Joe Berle's crazy he's a month younger any stress to the pros it is the best quarterback in football today with that with that in mind why are we so bad why is he was the fifth quarterback picked yeah I mean somebody picked but Sam Donald was on the field with him last night he was picked for the you know whole round basically behind him behind Baker Mayfield and I don't know I guess you could say that the game is involved in and certainly what John Harbaugh has done there coming up with you know a game plan specifically tailored to his his skills is something that we haven't seen a whole lot of in the NFL but yeah the fact he he he went at the very end of the first round kind of unbelievable I thank the rap was he can't pass the guy can't pass bills we saw so many great place by his feet yeah sort of like mentioned away you can't pass it can't pass he can run he can't pass is game does not translate to the NFL yeah right he was he was saying it in there pretty good last night looks like it looks like you can pass it pretty good man really it's a pretty good and we're gonna here we'll we'll talk about this coming up in just a moment but he broke a record he broke Michael Vick's a single season record for rushing yards is something else happening that later should he be an honorary captain of the Superbowl it will be a whole you too could be a good dog yeah I got I got a dog lover and friend who's been want him he's she wanted to bring this up two days ago have you heard that son of a Michael Vick that diagram we'll get into that in just a moment shakes and they connect Clements.

"Mean there's a lot of things that he did really well that he can get a lot of help was I mean you got to some really good check certainly next to them that was a little frustrating to see that that the guy that's in his first NFL start knows what knows what's going on and you know other guys are next units way should be done. interesting Adam gase deflecting some of the criticism a little bit for Luke fox now that same Adam gase called the offense atrocious on Sunday against the patriots thought they had a hundred and five yards which is the fewest number of yards ever given out by a bill Belichick coached patriots team it's after hours here on CBS sports radio a couple of other notes Ben Roethlisberger had that surgery to repair his elbow ligament on Monday the report I heard is that it's not Tommy John surgery and he is expected to be back with with no issues at all com twenty twenty but that's a long future so up to wait and see how that goes and then note the other note that he wanted to Basil log veteran cornerback if you have not seen Troy Aikman's tweet to the up but again kid the city you need to check it out little bit snarky little bit salty but they were comparing the early portion of Pat Holmes career to what Troy Aikman did in bulk and apron responds with what we know when he's got thirty three percent of my Superbowl rings so is the it was the number comparing you know touchdown throws early in his career so yeah kind of kind of gross to be sure do do they compare eras but eight men found a way to like Twitter up with it. magic harp player of the week is brought to you by Granger it's not actually the reigning NFL MVP instead you chose Daniel Jones is your Monday and BP with his four touchdowns to through the air to on the ground including the go ahead score with a minute fifteen left his first career start found them down twenty eight to ten and with a good third quarter and to be strong and drives in the second half dot to make them good defense but like there's a lot of extra energy more mobility with the quarterback any really opens up more of that Pat Shurmur playbook. although we did take mad gay missing a thirty four yard field goal at the end but celebrate giants fans and Daniel Jones they're very fiery.

"Now back to the Denny parking show. thanks for hanging out eight five five two one two four CBS week to almost in the books some of the you know day of recap particles are posting with the allies sports bureau notes information. I know it's a different era. but dumb today Pat Holmes conversation from early listen of this that. here Ryan are is Reinecke available my executive producer to hop on a Mike okay. I want you to Pat my homes today I have I have the list here. some quarterbacks I've done a couple different things I want to put Pat my homes into context for you for passing touchdowns for Pat my homes. this is the eighth time he's done that all right. eighth time Pat my homes a sad for passing touchdowns in a game. do you want to take a guess how many times Joe Montana threw for eight passing for for passing touchdowns. I was safe twice. also eight times. so Pat my homes in nineteen career starts has thrown for for passing touchdowns eight times Joe Montana did it eight times in a hundred and ninety two career games. so Pat and it again different era to different era. how this one. this is the sixth time in Pat my homes is career then he threw for three hundred plus yards with four touchdowns. Joe Montana did it. six times. Steve young that it six times. Tony Romo did it six times Matt Stafford did it six times. Pat Holmes is already done it. six stops. those guys are either retired hall of Famers or have been in the league for ten plus seasons in Stafford case the pace is just incomprehensible. he is playing a totally different sport. Brandon California wants to weigh in on the bears which is one of the absolute worst feelings you could have in their team winning a football game today Brandon what's up man you're on CBS sports radio thanks for calling Hey Danny how are you tonight good buddy get a I wanted to just chime in about a couple things that was probably that was a very interesting way to officiate a football game it just it smelled it looked funny I so I want to be your thoughts on that the next thing I wanted to ask you about is you mean in the idea of it like being fixed for the bears. no no I could going both ways it just it just felt weird I officiate to not football but I do basketball and it I don't know it is so funny to me it yeah we we were talking about it a bit earlier I roughing the passer is broken in the NFL because gravity is a thing and so guys fault when you hit someone and you fall it's hard not to fall on them and you're not supposed to fall with your weight on them and if you do it can be interpreted as spearing and. you know I thought Leonard Floyd was bad I thought Eddie Goldman's was worse than I thought Bradley jobs was the worst of them all I get it just kept getting worse and worse and worse in that game so it's it's a really really tough call to officiate based on how the rules written yeah yeah and then the next thing I wanted to ask you about is do you think with the bears can you have too many offense of weapons and then the last thing you and then I'll hang up and let you get going is how much longer do you think that made me mad that yes capable of being a play caller or is Brad Childress around is David cone like well one of them take it over before season then so no yeah I I bribed listen I mean I appreciate the call but. at night you waited his whole life for this opportunity. if he's not. if he's not call the plays. he's gonna see himself as lesser van. you know in the read would give a a maneki only works Randy reed perform in Philly in KC and the rate would occasionally give up the play calling duties even though you would still have veto power you know before Doug Peterson got the eagles job before Nagy got the bears job he's done that before for hot coaching prospects but he's been coaching as a head coach for two decades. so he knows that his value is in his game plan I mean the strategy and is consistency and yes in his play calling but in his quarterback development Andy Reid got so many pelts on the wall of things that he is good at and I just mention the biggest ones game planning in QB development and maximizing quarterbacks that. if you didn't call place for five games to let Matt know you have that on his resume when he's heading in for a job interview the key he's fine Matt Nagy. he's a confident guy but I cannot see him having that much self confidence that he's like yeah let's turn this over to mark Helfrich. because then if they're better with Helfrich call the plays I think that reflects poorly on the second year head coach. I would just be really surprised if he did that. and then in terms of having too many off its weapons no they're not even close to that David Montgomery is an offense a weapon who the Broncos keyed in on because the run calls today were. I am fully obvious and telegraph but at least they were there Allen Robinson is a legitimate number one receiver you know there's. we it doesn't receivers in the NFL better than Allen Robinson but he's really really good. Trey Burton should be much better than he is but he can't stay healthy Anthony Miller and Adam gene or two top fifty pics who've been disappointments at receiver in tight end Taylor Gabriel Mr Brzeski air mailed in today but you know he's fast these a gadget player and to re cone is a gadget player also but is really really dangerous and versatile the ball in his hands it's easier to get him the ball and it is tailor Gabriel or Cordero Patterson so they don't have too many it's not like paralysis by analysis they they don't have enough guys who are really good they got a lot to get you guys like Taylor Gabriel running on a nine route kind of a gadget to recount kind of gadget coral Patterson kind of a gadget tray Burton kind of a ghost she can Anthony Miller ghosts Mike Davis predictable so. they're not close to having too many offense of weapons. eight five five two one two four two two seven is the number John in NYC on CBS sports radio what's up John and then take you to take a lot call before August two months for you you had a gentleman song about some very some reading to me is that they would you know well no the Dodgers went. football player you know ball down as the greatest because he wants the most but he's a very junior he's just always get the job done and also sold wheels Boston guys I know it all right here but he's that would you know the amount of yeah I think is an actual player in terms of the talent Brady is better what he did then Jenner was at what he did but in terms of clutch Nissen winning and all that I I under I understand the peril you're making but Brady's a better quarterback than Jeter was a short stop but I I understand the point you're making well not so much what I thought you could use some of this all I I saw the clock with their new jobs are ready. the giants are just fine watchable right now even with Barkley I mean the guy has fifty five yards in the first drive and you didn't you the ball again it's a second quarter or whatnot like I do solo was going on as far as what he called Mars as forced meaning wires like we had shepherd Alfa again IDC in Rome. into the game I think he bought the going to the slot receiver in action will route like I just feel like the jars that soon but look the novel right now and we just need some excitement is it going to be better which also probably not but I would rather see daily Jones because once the bruises and grow with a quorum Barclays and to keep watching Megan stepped back and one miss a couple receivers thank you. it's just a lack of excitement that does and I I'm I'm with you I think also I think the biggest part of it is you guys have your coach what if Pat Shurmur as your coach and he's offense of mind then there's no reason to hide Daniel jokes you may as well get in the wraps if you as a defensive coach you you're gonna fire and you have to learn a whole new system then I could see hiding the young guy but if you've got your system in place play the younger because Eli manning is washed up he is with a cat all about yeah my question Michael my question to you also is this. even though I I respect the old with the mind I see he did you know in Minnesota and things like that he's done some good things but do you think your coaching colonel like we because of the whole situation like you're thinking from older back because I'm trying to see if you can call me you had a bad game today but I've actually seen called better games and Minnesota stuff with that and actually you know get the phone they are receiving because they did I get it well I just need him screen better and you know just to better things all right I just don't know what's going on because we do not use part of it a huge part of it and thanks for the call is just straight up personnel right like when you have. you mention Minnesota right watch that a lot of that game today when you got Dalvin cook and Stefon Diggs and Adam feeling you can make Kirk cousins look okay but Kirk cousins looked awful often today be not very talented. your manning at this point is not counted. the office line is a very good sure but he's old he's slow he's lost the zip on his fast ball he's not good. so Pat Shurmur is not a magician he can only play call with the hats going away from sake one Barkley honestly there's an argument to be made that every hip take one Barkley takes right now in this sorry **** giants team is just wasting his specialness and his production. the giants defense by the way who. that is a special kind of horrible. you got to be starting guys against them in daily fantasy and doing anything you can to get guys playing the giants in the lineup they'll tackle. last reviewed the cowboys just. no Jack going..

"Of the NFL in the books even have Steelers patriots hasn't gone final patriots on top of the Steelers thirty to three in an hour and a half the top sports media personality in the city of Pittsburgh will join us to talk about the Steelers lane AG and what he makes of the Antonio brown saga which just continues to blow my mind eight five five two one two four CBS to get in touch with the show talking top week one NFL take away is also wanted people to weigh in on if they think the Browns have earned that seat at the table where yeah we care about him they're gonna be talked about on you know ESPN and Fox Sports one because good or bad we care we like either celebrating the new with the different a routing form or cheering and having some shot and Freud when they fall on their face but people have opinions on the Browns people have their polarizing they are interesting they are relevant and that is a great place to be in the NFL maybe they'll be a flash in the pan but given the towns in the personalities I don't think so. speaking of something that is not a flash in the pan. we got to have a talk about Pat my homes. all right. I am I'm not a chiefs fan. but I did work in Kansas city. for about six years I cover the chiefs I know a lot of people in around that organization my mom's family is from Kansas city. so they're not my number one team that's the bears but I will admit you I like the chiefs. but I've been very critical of the cheese in the past I do not think that I am particularly biased when I say this but I always say this on the show. everyone in sports media has biases it's the people that who it who admit their biases to you are the ones that you can trust so I give you my background there as a disclaimer that you may or may not think is relevant but I'm gonna give it to you anyway. we got to have a talk about what we're watching with Pat my homes because we should appreciate it as it's happening because I think we are seeing what will end up being historical greatness. in his first year in the NFL as a starter which was his second year in the league last year Padma homes had one of the three greatest statistical seasons the quarterbacks ever had he had over five thousand passing yards in fifty plus touchdowns that's only been done by two players who did it one time of peace one name was manning the other name was Brady. and Pat my hopes so that's the list that's the company. and. Pat my homes is obviously not yet Tom Brady. and he's obviously not yet Peyton manning. but when you think about the accomplishments of Brady in manning as individual players there's lots of superlatives that you have to them in a lot of it is obviously team based as it should be but so much of what a team can accomplish is based on circumstance right their coach their division their health all those things Tom Brady one M. V. P. three times. Peyton manning one the M. V. P. five times. I think Pat Holmes is going to enter that stratosphere. I think that's what we're watching. I think we are watching a quarterback. who one day will be in canton. who will win three or more MVPs. and when you start talking about three or more MEPs you're talking far if you're talking Brady you're talking manning you're talking a short elite lest. and I think you're talking about a player who is going to get any read a Superbowl. who will be the face of the league. will be the number one quarterback in fantasy like he's going to he's going to re write some record books year I think we are watching a transcendent talent I believe that we are watching Aaron Rodgers if Aaron Rodgers had a great coach because sandy Reid is a great coach. other people yes or wondering if okay he's good enough to win a ring and he's gotten career you're from Jeff Garcia a career year from Kevin Cobb career you're from Mike Vick career year from Alex Smith career you're from Donna McNab all good it to above average quarterback talents had their best passing seasons with Andy Reid but now he has in a lead quarterback talent and he gave him one of the three greatest the **** seasons of all time. so this is a marriage of. genius innovative offense of coach with generational type talent at the position. and I think we should all just sit back relax and enjoy the ride. I will give you a stat that I first saw from Michael David Smith over a pro football talk that I think in capsule it's what we're watching and you can say Hey this is part of the era okay you're right quarterbacks are more protected now it is more of a passing league then it was back in the day sure but obviously Tom Brady is still in this league Peyton manning is not that far removed from this era but sure adjusted for era noted it's easier to play quarterback in twenty nineteen that it was in nineteen ninety nine we're in agreement there. you know the Pavel homes today set the record for most passing yards through the first twenty games of an NFL career. okay will be adjusted for error for error that's. eight but you know again it's easier. you know the a princess bride when Inigo Montoya is fighting Wesley the man in the mask. and the complement each other the sword fights. he goes I admit you are better than I am news then why are you smiling. because I know something you don't know what is that I am not left handed and the switches hands. that's that that I just gave you. after my homes already most passing yards through twenty games first twenty games of an NFL career. I know something about that's that that maybe you don't know. Padma homes hasn't played twenty games. he's only played eighteen. so he's ninety percent of the way to that benchmark of twenty games and he's got two more to go. that's his I'm not left handed moment so Kurt Warner holds the record. or held the record for most passing yards through the first twenty games of a career. have a homes today past Kurt Warner and he's got two games to go so he is rewriting the record book. his name is up there with hall of Famers already. and so I'm honestly curious a five five two one two four CBS. four two two seven is the number act any bargains on Twitter. what superlative is too much for Pat Holmes too soon. what what that I just said about Pat Holmes. do you feel like is too much on the kit because I I don't call up and say well he could get hurt yeah obviously. he could get hurt. injuries could derail his career. but. Tyree kill got hurt today with his clavicle. and they miss a beat. Sammy Watkins turned in a vintage Clemson Sammy Watkins performance hundred and ninety eight yards and three scores. they drafted a second round pick a wide receiver they have Damian Williams in the backfield they have the best tight end in the NFL and Travis Kelsey and it was a hundred degree heat index in Jacksonville with humidity and the Jaguars have one of the three or five most talented defenses in the NFL and they still hung forty on the board. so. on the road. first real action in a long time against the really talented defense in really tough conditions without his best wide receiver for the majority of the game. he hangs forty when his ankles are. this dirty scary man. he's a different kind of cat. and I just I don't really think that there's a superlative that you can put on him that's too ridiculous like I'm not even saying he's the best quarterback of all time but it's possible. so I'm not going there yet I think Rogers is the most talented player to ever play the position. I think when people talk about Brady as the goat what they're really saying is he's the winningest quarterback ever but I don't even watch Brady and say that he's the most talented quarterback ever I don't believe you can do that because there are just throws that he can't make that other guys can't and I know it's not all about arm strength and mobility and all that but there are guys that have better arm strength in our more mobile even have better accuracy on deep in intermediate passes than Tom Brady but Brady is remarkable he's ridiculous he's clutch you've got everything between the years he's a winner ice in his veins bell check and all that stuff. but. I think my homes is Rogers with a weak coaching. and Rogers can make every throw on the field. and my home span what can he do. so. is Peyton manning's five MVP awards in play. maybe that'll depend on the error and how many other great quarterbacks there are. but if I set the over under right now it two and a half M. V. P.'s for Pat Holmes. you won't over under..

I am I'm not a chiefs fan. but I did work in Kansas city. for about six years I cover the chiefs I know a lot of people in around that organization my mom's family is from Kansas city. so. they're not my number one team that's the bears but I will admit you I like the chiefs. but I've been very critical of the cheese in the past I do not think that I am particularly biased when I say this but I always say this on the show. everyone in sports media has biases it's the people that who it who admit their biases to you are the ones that you can trust so I give you my background there as a disclaimer that you may or may not think is relevant but I'm gonna give it to you anyway. we ought to have a talk about what we're watching with Pat my homes because we should appreciate it as it's happening because I think we are seeing what will end up being historical greatness. in his first year in the NFL as a starter which was his second year in the league last year Padma homes had one of the three greatest statistical seasons the quarterbacks ever had he had over five thousand passing yards in fifty plus touchdowns that's only been done by two players who did it one time of peace one name was manning the other name was Brady. and Pat my hopes so that's the list that's the company. and. Pat motorhomes is obviously not yet Tom Brady. and he's obviously not yet Peyton manning but when you think about the accomplishments of Brady in manning as individual players there's lots of superlatives that you have to them in a lot of it is obviously team based as it should be but so much of what a team can accomplish is based on circumstance right their coach their division their health all those things Tom Brady one M. V. P. three times. Peyton manning won the MVP five times. I think Pat Holmes is going to enter that stratosphere. I think that's what we're watching. I think we are watching a quarterback. who one day will be in canton. who will win three or more MVPs. and when you start talking about three or more MVPs you're talking far if you're talking Brady you're talking manning you were talking a short elite lest. and I think we were talking about a player who is going to get ME read a Superbowl. who will be the face of the league. will be the number one quarterback in fantasy like he's going to he's going to re write some record books here I think we are watching a transcendent talent I believe that we are watching Aaron Rodgers if Aaron Rodgers had a great coach because sandy Reid is a great coach. other people yes a wondering if okay he's good enough to win a ring and he's gotten career you're from Jeff Garcia a career year from Kevin Cobb career year from Mike Vick career year from Alex Smith career you're from Donna McNab all good it to above average quarterback talents had their best passing seasons with Andy Reid but now he has a lead quarterback talent and he gave him one of the three greatest the **** seasons of all time. so this is a marriage of. genius innovative offense of coach with generational type talent at the position. and I think we should all just sit back relax and enjoy the ride. I will give you a stat that I first saw from Michael David Smith over a pro football talk that I think encapsulate what we're watching and you can say Hey this is part of the era okay you're right quarterbacks are more protected now it is more of a passing league then it was back in the day sure but obviously Tom Brady is still in the sleeve Peyton manning is not that far removed from this era but sure adjusted for era noted it's easier to play quarterback in twenty nineteen then it was in nineteen ninety nine we're in agreement there. you know that Pavel homes today set the record for most passing yards through the first twenty games of an NFL career. okay will be adjusted for error for era that's. eight but you know again it's easier. you know the a princess bride when Inigo Montoya is fighting Wesley the man in the mask. and the complement each other the sword fights. he goes I admit you are better than I am news then why are you smiling. because I know something you don't know what is that I am not well tended and the switches hands. that's that that I just gave you. my homes already most passing yards through twenty games first twenty games of an NFL career. Padma homes today passcode Warner and he's got two games to go so he is rewriting the record book. his name is up there with hall of Famers already. and so I'm honestly curious a five five two one two four CBS. four two two seven is the number at Danny bargains on Twitter. what superlative is too much for Pat Holmes too soon. but what that I just said about Pat Holmes. do you feel like is too much on the kid because I I don't call up and say well he could get hurt yeah obviously. he could get hurt. injuries could derail his career. but. Tyree kill got her today with his clavicle. and statements to be. Sammy Watkins turned in a vintage Clemson Sammy Watkins performance hundred and ninety eight yards and three scores. they drafted a second round pick a wide receiver they have Damian Williams in the backfield they have the best tight end in the NFL in Travis Kelsey and it was a hundred degree heat index in Jacksonville with humidity and the Jaguars have one of the three or five most talented defenses in the NFL and they still hung forty on the board. so. on the road. first real action in a long time against the really talented defense in really tough conditions without his best wide receiver for the majority of the game. he hangs forty one his ankles hurt. mysterious scary man. he's a different kind of cat. and I just I don't really think that there's a superlative that you can put on him that's too ridiculous like I'm not even saying be the best quarterback of all time but it's possible. so I'm not going there yet I think Rogers is the most talented player to ever play the position. I think when people talk about Brady as the goat what they're really saying is he's the winningest quarterback ever but I don't even watch Brady and say that he's the most talented quarterback ever I don't believe you can do that because there are just throws that he can't make that other guys can't and I know it's not all about arm strength and mobility and all that but there are guys that have better arm strength and are more mobile even have better accuracy on deep in intermediate passes and Tom Brady but Brady is remarkable he's ridiculous he's clutch you've got everything between the years he's a winner ice in his veins bell check and all that stuff. but. I think my homes is Rogers with a weak coaching. and Rogers can make every throw on the field. and my home span what can he do. so. is Peyton manning's five MVP awards in boy. maybe that'll depend on the error and how many other great quarterbacks there are. but if I set the over under right now it two and a half M. V. P.'s for Pat Holmes. you rolled over under. Donald over and I'm not even thinking twice about it. that is a remarkable accomplishment. for a kid who's twenty three years old and has had one full season in the NFL eighteen career regular season games. it's scary man I don't think there's a superlative too big for this guy but you people want to call and you tell me if I'm going too far on tap the whole.

"The NFL maybe not but if you're the best team in the NFL and you're in a big market the quarterback's going to be in conversation for MVP if he has a good year he's got great skill position down around them he's got a great offense of head coach he's in the second year in third in the league Pat Holmes was a name the Reid system for two years the Sean Watson was in the system for a couple years on many of the injury Jared Goff made his big jump when he was in Sean McVay system in his second year Carson Wentz made his big jump when he was in the same system in the second year running an NFL offenses like speaking a foreign language you can do it on a rudimentary level at the beginning but you need more time and practice in order to be fluent in it that's why it takes an extra year for these guys to really break out so I think Mr risky now that he's in the second year in the system is ready to break out will he be Pat homes probably not what I bet injure look over him yeah but Pat Moses four to one Andrew what's eight to one Mr risky was two hundred one so what did I do I tweeted about it there's no way for me to bed it was only at the west gate in Vegas and then props what came along someone actually made a fifty dollar bet on you're busy at two hundred to one for ten thousand dollars and what did I do I bought that ticket put my money where my mouth was offered to do it a hundred and ten Bucks he accepted so he got to get a two hundred and twenty percent return on his fifty Bucks he turned fifteen to one ten and now I've got Mister biscuit ninety to one you can find it at fifty to one of your local sports book I got him at ninety to one hundred and ten Bucks to win ten thousand and fifty dollars Mr Brzeski NFL MVP this year do I think it's going to happen new I'd better Andrew luck but should Mitch Stravinsky have higher odds then compiler freaking Murray of course he should second year in an offense that's town did with a good coach and a great team in a big city that guy's got a shot to win MVP thank you to John fast for the updates Antonio Grillo Brian McKeon and Dave at injure for making me sound so good in getting me on the air Dan what you from the LA time Sean hiking from bleacher report and John Jastremski from WFAN were my gas I'm off next week thanks for hanging out follow me on Twitter at any Parkins the daily parking.

"The killer, Heather. Heather Heyer died diet can eight four years break itself. Miller, please. Well, it doesn't make any sense as your is your loot into the judge spent a significant amount of time at the front end talking about should it be should I be basing it on second degree murder were the aggregate battery a lot of league legal fees that frankly, nobody really cared about. They wanted to know what your sentence and what's the justification for sentence. So after all this legal chatter. He didn't says Eighty-one months, but gives no justification for quickly gets off the bench. Well, no one is going to believe that that sentence has any legitimacy whatsoever. Value conclude eighty four years for one case of real awhile shots. The hit. In six years. We've got to shut sixteen in the bag and the girl in the world. It doesn't it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. You murder a young black, man. The jury found that that verdict that he murdered. He talks about the fact that they also had found the elements of first degree murder, and then you sentence him like, it's a a home invasion. He will be in and out of jail before rod Blagojevich is finishes his fourteen year sentence, you say like, it's a home invasion. Yeah. It's it's it's it's it is tantamount to a slap on the wrist. Because when you give him credit for good time. He may only serve a grand total of three little over three years. That's been there. I want to five years in freestyle detention. Yep. They come out, and they've spent more time than the sense for the been they walk free of marijuana. Something says Simpson a drug high. Yeah. It we what we have. And it's unfortunate that this is the incident that's bringing the spotlight to the Cook County judiciary in particular the system that's broken. You know, this you go down here. It's mostly young black men. Having seconds before a judge, no real time to talk with their lawyers, and yet people were sitting there because it's a it's become a debtor's prison because they can't get out on bail. You have judges down there refusing to follow the bail guidelines at Tim Evans, ordered them to do the whole system is is absolutely totally corrupt. And frankly, these two back to back decisions, I think just underscores the problem back to back. Why'd you own one day have a case of three officers who were acquitted and walk free. Than the Guan. So that the sun right to me, Laura. Well, it it's a strange coincidence. But the result is essentially the same that there is no Justice. You have three officers who obviously lied and engaged in a cover up. Their defense. Attorney said we'll this is just a paperwork air. No, they consciously concocted a narrative, and they were purposeful and trying to steer it in a way that would have shielded Van Dyke. That's very clear we had two of the most able prosecutors that I've ever ever seen in in a state. Judge Pat Holmes and her colleague Ron safer who prosecuted literally hunters cases in between them. They knew how to put together a tight case. And yet the judge let them walk king looking at this whole convergence of the wrong. King birthday does heightened sensitivity concerned again that the the sense of disappointment among many young. People the Justice system does not work. It does work. Sit them yesterday. When immaterial was kill the killer walk free before the years because we had the one on jury. What does me was? I thought once he was convicted by the jury though the end up to cover up that was as naval my part because the the the the cover up extends into the judge covering up as well. Yeah. Well, the the the the judges at twenty sixth street feel like they have no accountability to anyone. Now. Don't get me wrong. We want an independent judiciary. We don't wanna intrude on that. But when you have a jury that put aside the distractions focus on the evidence and his came up with historic conviction. The judge's sentence undermines and does a disservice to that jury conviction was the next step. Well, then the next step I've called upon for the officer remains on the job for the superintendent to bring charges against him immediately. So he could his employment can be terminated. I've urged the US. Well, Van Dyke. No, I'm talking about what they want the officer the threes conspiracy. There's one officer who remains on the job. He needs to be addressed through disciplinary proceeding. Number two, I've called upon the US attorney's office to open up a grand jury investigation. If they have not to look at the behavior, these three officers, and frankly, there were others that were involved in the cover up they need to be accountable while whether they're on the job now or they fled through retirement. You used to be an assistant US attorney. That's right. So help us to understand the the US attorney's office could have and frankly, they had the Van Dyke case from the very beginning. The state's attorney need Alvarez said here, you take this hot potato, and they did all this work. But then never never brought any charges never gave any explanation. This is under Zach Fardon. So I'm hoping John Laos New US attorney. We'll take a look at this. Bring charges as appropriate. And then the last thing is there are cases that were pending before the police board that judge gone asked the police board to stay those cases needs to be reinvigorated. Immediately. A civil rights case does have a role the plan this. They clearly do they were investigating the McDonald case from the very beginning. And they knew about the cover up. They knew about the doctor police reports they knew about what happened at the Burger King. So yes, I believe that the F B I absolutely has a role to play here. Jamie. Yes, again, thank you for bringing us. The public attention. Laura lower this morning. What you see is the next step, Jamie. So, you know, I agree.

"You as we're gearing up towards what's going to be really cold weekend in one of the championship games. Yeah. Yeah. Really is. And I was so mistaken as far as talking about the killer bees and comparing them to Oklahoma City. I only two of the killer bees were together for one Super Bowl. And they lost that Tony rows rookie year. We're only five Leona at one catch wasn't Antonio Brown that we know right now, basically, it's the same as Oklahoma City that those three together haven't won dislike the three in Oklahoma City didn't win and then two of them are gone. And now we're going to be gone here. Stay it's crazy. So again, we got dome control of the NFC championship game. And then we've got elements is an Arctic a polar vortex or an Arctic blast. What do they call it? The and Arctic blast polar vortex. Now, I liked the polar vortex. It sounds more maniacal, you know, it sounds like something more that was cooked up and like. An evil lab somewhere. So when I was with the eagles we played in the Meadowlands just a regular season game wasn't postseason and with the wind chill. It was it was I believe close to ten below with the wind chill. The old meadowland turf was not. Oh, I mean. Yeah. It was like concrete good. Luckily, it wasn't in Philly concrete. But we now this is back in the day. We didn't were the heaters on the sidelines. They looked like the jet engine. Yeah. Exactly. And this is back a case. I wore mouthpiece summoned didn't wear a mouthpiece sometime when I was in a leak you burn something. Like, I would keep the mouthpiece hooked on on my finger like when I was on the field and unknowingly I never wore gloves. So I just went and I put it down by the heat at one time and the the mouthpiece started melting around my finger. I'm like, wow. Okay. This is bad. It was. So this is back where you sit. There you go on the field, and they do a TV timeout. You're standing out there. Just for reasoning. I mean, again, it's different for Lyman as opposed to people will have to really handle the football and how it can get slick. South. So it it definitely has an effect. There's no when he gets tackled. And a lot depends on if it is windy when it's that cold or not. Well, listen, you're exactly right. I can't remember who it was over the weekend that said but don't pretend like it's not a factor playing in snow in the cold. It does it does change everything. And what's interesting is especially for both of these teams. We've seen the patriots. You know, Tom Brady can dump it off all the time those running backs, but with Sony Michelle they have a little bit of a power game. Listen, they can run it with Sony. Michelle we saw white catch fifteen balls out of the backfield. That's a great way to deal with not having the ball downfield in the Cold War could be slick trying to catch and the chiefs have proven even without Kareem hunt. Dean Williams has been a godsend for that. I think to the number. They act actually have averaged the same yards per carry four point six that they did with and without Kareem hunt. And you you also like maybe a guy like Kelsey. And maybe this may be the resurrection game could be off underneath and try and see him truck some of those guys going forward. So those will be some things that are really really interesting all phone guests on the golden we go show joins us on the shell Pennzoil performance line taking synthetic motor oil performance to a whole new level. Make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today. And then there's our next guest who joins us, Jeff. Because he wants to rub it in our face, stugotz from the Dan Le Batard show with stugatz is ready with us. And before we get to that congratulations at signed sealed and delivered. I get it. We've been we. We know dude. There's no chance. So it's over your six games. There are three games to go the to this week and then the Super Bowl, and then and your six games ahead unless we play the money ball, and we add in a Powerball trifecta. Yeah. Basically you got the win. I mean, we we can kiss. We'll do this at the end guys. But I'm telling you, I might I might give you I might open up the door cracking give you an opportunity to get back into this thing. I'm Michael negotiated at the end. Oh, good, man. Let me just say if you do you're the dumbest person around. There's no way I would do. Come on. That's like, Nicole. That's all right. We're going to get you right now, though, we we got we got you in a corner. So we do have some evidence to back up. What you just said. So we have actually made fun of golick all year long because he had this take. A Pat Holmes was not going to do. Well, here was was Mike Golic before the season began. Listen,.

And that's when their first ever career playoff game only Brady and Russell Wilson of the current crop of twelve quarterbacks that came into this playoffs. Either a veteran or in their first foray trying to win a playoff game. Pat Holmes is trying to join only Russell Wilson and Tom Brady in this year's playoffs failed to win his first career playoff game. And then they would host the AFC championship game against either. The patriots or the guest at the top of hour number two of this show Keenan Allen who let us know that his wife due date of their third child their first masculine child is in two days. "You're not a full. But my point is I like this. What is the NFL page line? Like, if you all all these people who are floating in the ether to think they could be in the NFL but want a chance to prove themselves. No one's going to the CFL to prove themselves to the NFL to get back in the NFL Pete like just like people are not gonna go. If you have a chance to be in the NFL on an NFL roster. You're not choosing one of these leagues over the NFL. Either one of these leagues. From the NFL one understand. I think I just wanna make sure I'm clear what you just said. So you're telling me that you feel now what stereotype stereotyping people here. So keep that in mind, we are stereotyping groups of of men football players, right? You're saying to me that. A player out of college would rather go to the NFL be on an NFL roster not play as opposed to going to the af or the XFL start make good money and play the game that they work their rear end off for that. Guys would rather sit on the bench. Yes, I disagree with it. Because I don't know. I I don't know the salary structure. So I don't know what good money is in either one of those. I can't imagine it anywhere near what the the minimum in the NFL is you're you're put it all on the money. And I respond to what you know about an athlete now. I was a pro athlete. I I'm telling you as an athlete you want to apply your craft can't apply craft when you're on the bench. It's the same thing with kids go to college and play sports. Some kids turned down offers from big big programs. Scratched ahead. Why wouldn't they go to that school because he wants to play right away? Why why go there and win a jersey and where that Alabama jersey? Yeah. But I'm not gonna play close senior. But yet I could go to Tulsa and get a full ride and play for four years and show off. So I make it to the NFL. Hopefully, right. I mean, hopefully, I don't I don't I don't. But you get my point. I get your point. And my my point remains, the overriding one is that all of these people in this group, which will exist. I I don't I don't dismiss the idea that there will be people on the periphery here who are going to want to be or looking for something. They're not the reason why they're looking for something is because they're not relatively speaking that good of a football player. So when they go in the af or the XFL, they're not gonna hold my attention this. What would you say not good of a football player compared to the best of the best starters in the NFL? Maybe maybe I'm a snob. This began. At noon Tuesday. I agree that the majority of people football fans, all like you. I think that want to see they they see a pro football game. And they're expecting to see Pat Holmes Tom Brady, they're expected to see guys to that level nonstop. They're expecting to see that. And that that you're not going to get that on a regular basis with af or XFL just like you don't want the arena league. Just like you don't see a fell but for me as a football fan. Okay. I enjoy I'll watch an arena game. I mean, I couldn't give you Ross's of top my head. But I will watch a Canadian game. I will I I'm a football purists. Right. And I know that there's a there's a lot of you. But I don't know that there's enough to sustain the sticks this league that I'm not gonna argue with that could definitely be you probably right on that. I just feel like as far as the actual player the players. Boca, these cats want to get out there and ball. Not right pine. That's all I'm saying guys wanna play. That's maybe we can continue the conversation that you looked at you wanna say something I have to go to break, sir. And if you have an opinion, listen to us right now, do you wanna see the XFL? Do you wanna see the af all you dot were football? If the Super Bowl of pro football, you need a break you care about it. Eight five five two two four two two seven Tassie. "I'm just projecting with Baker Mayfield because he hadn't been supported, and we have to he is at least one year behind developmental of petty homes, at least he's a year behind developmentally, even though he's actually older as far as on the calendar. Baker Mayfield hosted Pat Mahomes in when Pat Holmes was visiting Texas Tech. They then obviously play each other. Once when Baker was it Oklahoma in that game was bananas. And I'll show you that game in a minute. But I to me it's not a hard question. And it's not because I don't like Baker. I think bakers going to be a stud, but as C put it that homes is start right now that Mahomes, you could have any name opposite, Pat, Mahomes right now and asked me that question who would you rather build around, Pat, Mahomes or pick any player in football. And I would take Patrick Mahomes through eight games. This year is on pace for fifty two touchdowns and five thousand yards. Now is he in the best situation? A young quarterback can be absolutely not just because Andy Reid, but because of the embarrassment of riches of weapons he has absolute. And so he is in a perfect situation. But there have been other quarterbacks young quarterbacks maybe not this year. But in the past in equally is advantageous situations. And nobody's done. We'll Pat LAM's is done. And he's not doing it against the the cardinals in the Niners every week. He's done on the road against tough opponents. So I the other reason is I do think what your first football experiences are those circumstances. You can't control. I think they have a big impact on what your trajectory is. I think if the if they have any impact whatsoever for Pat homes, it's been all positive and for Baker Mayfield. It's been a lot more prepared him homes. After after they started one game the guys in front of Allison they traded him out of the build. Nice. There's no distract started. People started one game last year. We said it was a smooth. Transition. He's got the leading rusher in the NFL as a tailback. He's got an up and coming star receiver entire queue. And then he's got Kelsey arguably, the one two or three best tight in and football. Oh, that's not enough where I'm go out and get Sammy watching form. So it's just hard for me. I've been tearing for Baker. I think Baker is a stood. I thought he was going to be a stood when I saw him devour high state in Ohio stadium, but what Patty homes patio homes has working for him. I know you have to be supporting the NFL and the support that he has around him right now is leading to him having this special cigarette can Baker do moving forward now with new coach or in our what can he do now remainder the season moving forward vibes. Is that the word plucked it from Bryant exact the rest of the year for Baker. It's about surviving. Everyone is not cut outs there to to play an NFL. And right now you start to see these young quarterbacks. They have not faced the type of adversity that. They're facing Baker Mayfield after eight weeks. They've won two more games won the last two years. Coach gets fired offense coordinator, he comes to work is like, you know, some this is not the smooth transition from Bob stoops Lincoln Riley like this is real life. There's real consequences and the pressure on him is monumental. Pat. Him homes went through.

"If you could be compared in some capacity to Marino Rogers and far, you've got to be something you got to be doing something right. What is Patrick Mahomes need to do against this Jaguars defense to have successes weekend. He's going to need to show all the skill sets that he's shown to this point in the season through the first four weeks. I mean, you seem the accuracy and velocity on display remind you of Marino throat and he had to Travis Kelsey up to see him in the first quarter. The Steelers game putting it on the back shoulder. You're tied and keep them in a way from the safety, a big time throw. When we saw Monday night, being able to improvise being able to throw the ball with his left hand because it couldn't square shoulders and toil. What is right with Miller was chasing them rolling out to his left. Well, how about on second in thirty? Being able to throw that twenty three yard pass to DeMarcus Robinson. Those are those off schedule plays that we see from Aaron Rodgers. So when you start talking about those quarterbacks and comparing him, you can actually point to specific plays and see those attributes on display. So Pat Holmes is going to have to bring a lot of that against his Jacksonville, Jaguars d. Because they get after it like no other defense will to me personnel wise, the best defense in the National Football League. The number one scoring defense in the National Football League. So this is going to be the first big test for that Kansas chiefs offense. And he set the record for the last decade on passing yards outside of the pocket in that Monday night football game, that would worry me if that were the path to victory for the chiefs this weekend because he's the Jags I think are better equipped because of that personnel than any other team in the league to keep him in the pocket, and they are just as well acquit as any team in the league to do damage to his body. If he leaves the pocket and drives to what he has been so successful at now, I'm not saying he would eliminate that from his game entirely, but this is a game where a cream hunt is going to have to be to to the one two punch and be on Mahomes aside. He's going to have to dial it up from the pocket. Now he's been great inside the pocket, just so..
