"And there he is the new jets general manager Joe Douglas, thank you to him. And thank you to the creative producer behind hard knocks Ken Rogers, who joined us to talk about the decision to film, the Oakland Raiders this summer and what will go on as NFL films brings us the great series hard knocks and before I sign off for this week. I did want to salute a friend of mine who lost his life late Thursday night. The former Denver Broncos owner Pat bone who is a great owner and an even better man, he had blue eyes that were steely blue that led some people to think that he had this frosty cold look to him. But when you got behind those steely blue eyes, you found an incredibly warm. Caring engaging men who in the words of one NFL executive, I spoke to this weekend, described him as a man's man. And I think that really is the best way to describe Pat bolan whose contributions to the NFL or too numerous to count. But if we're going to count them, some of them something I football probably would not exist without Pat bolan FOX might not have football today or not, for Pat Bowen. The Broncos would not be the great franchise that they are were not for Pat bolan, and I selfishly can say that. I would not have been put on the career path that I was were it not for Pat bolan, who would often invite me into his office council me, both personally and professionally, I can't tell you the number of times we talked about dating and marrying people. He was married twice. And here's a guy that when I was working as a cub reporter back. In Colorado and working on the side for a local TV station that worked with the Broncos. But yet would never let me travel on the team plane, which always bothered me. Everyone could always go, but I never could Pat Bowen said, if we ever win the Super Bowl, you can come back on the team plane. And I said, really, Mr. Bowen. And he said, absolutely. And so in the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl thirty two and beat the Green Bay Packers in what was and still is. I think one of the most memorable Super Bowls that was ever played the Broncos celebrated that win. And I saw a Pat bolan after the game. And he said, you're coming back on the team plane and I flew back from San Diego. Not only on the Broncos team charter which was the first time that had ever flown on a team charter. But I flew in first class seated next to Pat bolan and had Vince Lombardi trophy, we brought it back to Denver together. And as it was flying high above the rocky mountains. I remember thinking, what the heck did I do to deserve this great honor of riding next to this? Great man. Man with this trophy that is going to have an incredibly memorable Super Bowl parade through downtown Denver. But Pat held as word he kept to it. He was a great man. And he challenged so many people in so many ways the store that I love to tell is when I was running the Boston marathon back in two thousand and three and raising money for the children's hospital in Denver. I went around soliciting donations from some people, I knew and one of the people I asked to make a donation was Pat bolan himself. And he sent me back a letter that I really wish it had today, and maybe I do somewhere, but I'd have to find it. And in that letter it said, Adam, if you run the Boston marathon, and beat my all time best marathon time of three hours, twenty minutes and fifty seconds. I think it wasn't Pat had run a bunch of marathons back in the day and was in tremendous shape, when was a workout warrior. But he said,

"We're back on KOA NewsRadio. Dave logan. Rick Lewis Kathy Lee with his we talk about the legacy of Pat bolan, the owner of the Broncos since nineteen Eighty-four passing away earlier today. I I'm not sure there are too many people other than our guest, that is coming up that would know Pat better than the former head coach two time bowl champion head coach Mike Shanahan joins us now. Mike. It's Dave Logan. Rick Lewis Kathy Lee high coach. You know, we're, we're doing okay. I obviously tough day. In u gosh, you spent so many great years with Pat, I'll start by asking just what, what sort of memories what two or three things sort of stick out, mostly in your mind with respect to Pat in that relationship. Came in eighty four pet came in about two weeks after I had already been hired and obviously hard by Dan. And we weren't really sure if we had jobs job, and we very quickly. Coaching staff. Felt good to get a chance to me. First week on jar pats first week when he came in, you could see that he was a worker that weight room ain't nothing lifting weights. Get on that bike, he'd run and I made a mistake in the first week is. And he told you how long is going to run. You're you're for five miles, at least. Almost first week. It, you know, his work ethic in terms of, you know, being a triathlete did an iron man. I mean it's legendary there's so many stories in this is a guy that would swim however far so many miles, then run twenty six point two miles, and then bike ride. I mean, you've got to be highly competitive in world class athletes, participate in that. Because he's always around. He's always weight room he'd be around thirty morning geyser picks during the football season guys, he's really down her guy, very humble very low key, but he really got got around well with got got to know the players very well. Hey coach. Rick Lewis here, always good to talk to you. Thanks for coming on. How would you compare him as an owner to some of the other owners that you worked for in your career in the National Football League? And I'm not asking you to bad mouth. Any of the other owners? But how is he different from the rest of them? Hit a dream goals. And you knew it was winning. And he wanted to give you every opportunity to do what you need to do to win expected perfection. And, you know, he type of guy that would not ever interfere. He always talk to you. He wanted to keep on top of it. So he knew it, but he expected you to be what you did expected you to hire the those type of people. And so he had a very high standard of which he wanted in the type of character that he wanted his players and his coaches. So I just love the standard. He had the way he thought about winning an important winning championships for because he was the richest guy, but every penny that he had going back into the team owners. What do they want the new yacht? A new plane guy that saying, hey. Everything that I got not a lot. Maybe not as much as the owners by guarantee. One thing we're gonna win championships. And he did exactly that Mike Shanahan is our guest here as we talk about the legacy of Pat bolan, Rick coach brought up the sort of the, the interaction with us head coach. Pat is an owner I want wanna ask in good times and bad times. I mean from a head coach perspective. What kind of owner was Pat with respect to wanting to know certain game plan or what happened. Maybe on Monday what happened in yesterday's game. Was he a guy that from a football standpoint wanted to engage in this case you in terms of Xs? The nose was the guy that wanted engage in terms of salary cap, or was that not Pat, Pat, number one ever talked about the salary cap never really talk about slip ball. He wanted to talk about players wanna talk Xs and os. But he said, okay. Good practice. What type Africa? We have choices looking. At why why did you see what do you see maybe one player player being better than the next? Why is this draft choice? What we thought he was going to be. Why do we got to cut this guy after a year? Is it the right thing to do? And he would always he never wavered, so he would let you make the decisions you talked to him. He got a great feel for you know what you're thinking. And at the same time, you'd let you coach. So you know right away. Jerry Jones comes to mind, an owner who is really involved in it seems like just about everything regarding the football team. And Pat bolan so you're saying, Pat bolan was was involved day to day, but he still let you hear the football expert. He would let you decide what was best for the football team. Eight ten to one football. Thanks about the personal team. What type of people are they what type of workers, are they do? We have a chance to separate ourselves from the rest of the pack Jerry was guy that obviously took Davis took pride, at least in their minds of knowing the game trying to know the game pet then go in that direction. He wanted you to do it. You wanted you to make the decision. And at the end of the day in at the end of the day, he told good about, you know, hiring a certain guy that when not be afraid to make those decisions last question. Mike for me, you know, you, you, you became the head coach of the Broncos in ninety five the actually had a chance to take the job prior to that and decided not to, and I wonder if you'd feel good about sharing the story when you came in some of the changes that you wanted to make to the organization that, that, that you basically yet had that car. Conversation with Pat about those sort of pats reaction in ultimately, you guys agreeing to, to be able to, to pull that off. Conversations that you have after I came in ninety two and we lost a championship game in San Francisco. And I was interviewing for the job. Head off the job. Pat. That I would like San Francisco is doing at that time. Their own rooms their breakfasts and lunches practice. I said, you know, I would like to have these things if I do come back, and I said, if not I understand your position, I think I'm just gonna pass on the head coaching job, and maybe someday when I have those opportunities, then I'll take a coaching job again. I'm not gonna come in, especially with Denver after being Super Bowl xlii, Ben. I should've I can't win them Super Bowl. Within two years. Anyhow, right? So that two years later say all those things he asked for their done, and you know, that was the best everything he had not that he had the most money at that time. But at that time, he did exactly what he said. He would do a coach one. More thing for me. Next time you invite Dave for dinner at your restaurant. Can I take a long if I agreed to pay? Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Doesn't want you to come back. I'm willing to pay. Anybody can Dave like to see coach Evans seen him in a while. Let's do this. Let's make sure we all have pets. Right to catch up to. Hey, Mike, thanks for the time. I know to day we appreciate it, and we'll look forward to seeing. Oh. You bet. That's Mike Shanahan great coach that Emmer Broncos. I, I love that story. He had religious to me before asked these things. Initially, Pat said, can't do it. And so he turned the job down. And then the next time pack call these said you know what I can do it. Let's get this done in that, that was the first time the Broncos on the road had their own rooms. They had training table. They had lunch brought in their breakfast, brought in. They did exactly what they did in San Francisco. And you saw the result. You saw the results. There and eat breakfast, and hold their from training camp from the deck to the do that, too. We Mike would lettuce eat in the restaurant there at the at dove alley. He got be sidelined passes for a game at Phoenix really where family broadcast from there. That's nice. Aside for being a great NFL coach really good. They're really good. Do we'll get a break.
Pat Bowlen, Denver Broncos' owner, has died at 75
"Some sad news from the NFL world that happened overnight, Pat bolan longtime owner of the Denver Broncos his past the seventy five. He bought the team way back in nineteen eighty four seven Super Bowl appearances. And only seven losing seasons. In thirty four years as the owner of the team three championships, thirteen division championships. Eighteen playoff appearances. He'll be inducted into the hall of fame in August. That was decided back in February. He's been battling Alzheimer's disease for years in two thousand fourteen he stepped away from the. Day to day management of the team, a three person trust has been running the team for the past five years, and eventually one of his children. Will take over. The day to day control of the franchise seven children. It's led to some ugliness. It's lead to some legal fights. It seemed to be pointing toward. Brittany bolan who's in her late twenties, and who's coming back to work for the team, full-time soon. But the goal is to keep it in the family. But Pat bolan decided before he stepped away that he wants to be sure that the right person is running team. You have to put it in one person's hands for NFL purposes, there has to be one person who runs a team one person who controls the team day to day, one person who shows up at the meetings and cast votes on behalf of the team. And automatically if they just can't find any of the children. Who are suited to take over then, then the inferior the team could be sold. But I think the goal is Pat bowlen's goal was to keep. The franchise in the family Sarkin Dolan, says to the Broncos to the and family. Thirty five years as owner and a great, great run instrumental also in the television, growth of the NFL, the creation of NFL network. The establishment of Sunday night football as the new Monday night football, Pat, bowl and work closely with dick Ebersol. Back in two thousand six till I the foundation for the flip flop of Monday night football from broadcast to cable and Sunday night football from cable broadcast and Sunday night football became the biggest game of the week and the flex option Pepple and directly responsible for putting all that together. And having the vision to make it happen and working with dick Ebersol to make it a

"What does it matter what anybody has to say about me? I know who I am, as a person, I know feel. Always trust myself. And that was my goal focusing. You know, that's what one of the things that no take on the floor care about what media's has to say about me or going, if they want me to score whatever's thirty points because I did the game before come out and play right away. I'm not trying to make it line. Not try to make headlines, but I do cO I Leonard post game NBA finals MVP for a second time in his career as I said, our phone number's eight five five two one two four two two seven. Now coming up, we'll get to some of your answers. What's the next big thing in sport? So use hashtag next big thing, a lot of you finding me on Twitter, a law radio. And also on our Facebook page, as usual, you're below in it up. The US open is one round deep and we had a record setting performance from one Justin Rose. How did Tiger Woods fair? What about the two time defending champ Brooks? And once again, the breaking news from literally the minutes that we started the show is, is when it. I became public, the longtime owner of the Denver Broncos. Pat bolan dies at seventy five years old. He was home with his family after a ten year battle with Alzheimer's. He finally succumbs, and he is a he's a guy who was responsible for building the Denver Broncos that I fell in love with back when I was a teenager. They earn five per bowl trips in his first fifteen seasons of ownership and I fell in love with that excitement. In the play of John Elway his final active season as an owner was two thousand thirteen when they got to their sixth, Super Bowl and made it seven and we're able to win the title with bolan as the owner in two thousand fifteen but of course he's long since he had long since stopped making public appearances his family had taken over control of the team. And, and he went out as the owner taking care of the franchise. I. He wanted to make sure it was in good hands. And so I, I, I've, I've missed Pat bolan for years seeing him on the sidelines at his presence with the team tell you my, my memory of being up close and personal with Pat bolan. No. When I was in college, I did this crazy thing that only college students do. And I drove overnight. So I, I had some type of some commitment at Syracuse, and I drove, I think I was working I got in the car, and I drove overnight from Syracuse New York to Foxborough, Massachusetts. Because the Broncos were playing at New England and instead of taking someone with me, I decided, I would get the closest seat that I could find the Broncos sidelines. So I paid probably more than I could afford as a college student. I drove overnight I was exhausted. So I slept in my car, the Foxborough parking lot, while people tailgated around me remember it was really warm. My car didn't have AC. I wasn't gonna leave it running anyway. And so I had my windows down and I. Fell asleep. Even though around me the tailgating was taking place and the Broncos were wrapping up victory against the patriots. It was a pretty handy victory. If I remember I was in row, number nine literally right off the field road. Number nine. And so John Elway was throwing the ball back and forth and warm up that had half time. But what I remember about Pat bolan, if he came down toward the end of the game because it was a big win for the Broncos and he was congratulating all the players, a walking back and forth on the sidelines. But when he was stationary he was standing right in front of me nine rows away from me wearing a full length for coat. I don't remember what time of the year, this was a Suming it was cold, Pat bowl and styling in a full length for coat with a gigantic smile on his face and again congratulating his players when he had the opportunity. So that was my memory, Pat bolan up, close and personal again. He he built the Broncos the franchise that I. Oh love with when I was a young kid or young teen and that I still love today. So thank you. Pat bolan, I'm glad that you are no longer struggling, you can find me on Twitter, Ayla radio or on our Facebook page, thanks so much for tuning in our final show of the work week. Here's our latest sports update. And here star wins..

"Mike Reiss here a long time coming but what a great night specifically for Pat bolan in his family. Yeah. Definitely was. And it was nice that six of his seven children were there all of his daughters. And they were they were in that room sequestered for about an hour and a half. They that bowling Wallis was saying that they were probably brought into the room a little earlier than they had to because there's a whole group of them. It wasn't just wasn't just one member. It was the whole group. And so they wanted to make sure they were in position, and they they made them wait a long time. I guess more than an hour and a half waiting for the knock, but at four eighteen eastern time, it it finally came. And I guess rather spontaneously on you know. All the ladies screened. Because they knew the knock meant he was in. And so it was it was an exciting moment in Pat bolan deserved it onto fronts one. You know, the success? He had with the Broncos and the Broncos were always competitive just seven losing seasons. And that includes the last two with Vance Joseph one Pat bolan wasn't around the team and then seven Super Bowl appearances at just a remarkable record. And then on the league front, you know with all he did expanding the game. I mean Sunday night football, which is the number one rated show for by leaps and bounds every week since two thousand and six he put that together with dick Ebersol. So a bigger reward for Mr. be on on. That news noted legacy to we talked about this before that, you know, Pat bolan was not maybe an in your face bombastic type of owner. He was a little more ended somewhat in the background. And I wonder if that perception hurt him getting in with some peop-. Because he was every bit as impactful as you say of many of the other owners in the league and for a long time and longer. Yeah. It was. It was a a real injustice that Jerry Jones went in before Pat bolan Jerry Jones to the Cowboys owner. I mean, he he's always out front in front of the camera. Pat, bolan I thought what was symbolic of his reign. He finally got that Super Bowl trophy after Super Bowl thirty two. And you know, the bright spotlight was was on. It was finally time for him to take a bow. And and what did he do? He he couldn't wait to get rid get out of the way and hand the trophy over to John Elway. With those immortal words, this one's for John. I just think that's the that's a, you know, the signatures words of his legacy. And you're right. It's probably why it took them five years. Too long. Certainly champ is well deserving go in on the first ballot. But I want to ask you about Steve atwater. It sounds like momentum is building for Steve. Did you come away with that sense? I did it was his first of all Steve atwater. Didn't even make the first twenty five that's semi-finalists twenty-five cut down the first seven years. He was eligible. Then he started making the twenty five he made it for the eighth consecutive year. Here this year. And then he was a finalist for the second time. And this time for the first time ever, he made it inside the top ten you know, when they when there's fifteen finalists in the room, they cut they make a first cut of five. So they go from fifteen to ten and Steve for the first time got inside the top ten in and sometimes not always. But sometimes that means. That you're ready to go for next year's class. Paula Milo is coming up. He's the safety. So we'll see about that. But Steve atwater is getting some momentum. And he's the next guy that deserves to go win. Well, absolutely here here from all three of us in this room. Mike, we're going to run it that hopefully at fund there in Atlanta. Thanks for your great reporting. It was great in all of fame. Definitely beat the game. So. It was it was it was good that way. So thanks guys. I'm Broncos insider, Mike Klis. Thank you, Mike. And we continue the conversation with Mike Reiss in the Mike literature at the game just.

"Maguire free agency and Kevin. Why had a great run wonderful center gets in. And then the three older guys in the senior way. Pat, bolan the very very important owner of the Denver Broncos. There was a time. We're Pat bolan was one of the two or three most important and active and dominant owners in the league is suffering from Alzheimer's. He's not good. Kids on the stage there last night. So that's a very big day for the ball and family Bechtol and made enormous contributions to the NFL Gil Brandt who was part of the triumvirate who built the Dallas Cowboys, as you know, the Dallas Cowboys now they were built by Textron by Auvinen clerk Murchison and by personnel guy named Bill Bill Brandt. Gillibrand spin around the NFL is giving his life to the NFL song come out last night. As an older, man. But I know it meant the world to gillibrand to get that all the fame. So that was a nice thing. They did putting him in the hall of fame, and then Johnny Robinson who was a very good player in his own right years and years ago. So that's your group as far as the awards. It wasn't a big deal Mahomes. One VP surprise. Donald defensive player squad. Barclay beat out Baker Mayfield for the offense rookie, which is good because the good kid. Nice kid glady one defense rookie was Leonard who had a great year for the colts comeback player, of course, who had a wonderful season. And the coach was the bears Matt Nagy so nothing to quibble about their. So that gets all the stuff that happens on Saturday out of the way, good hall of fame group, Northern Ireland anybody there that group that I think is in doesn't deserve to get in the older guys. We know is different the five guys who got in Gonzales read, Bailey law more why not a big deal. I think they're all very very good. The one that some micro with this is Milwaukee. But more I was a really good center. Very mobile, very active. Very very good guy. Very good player for a long time. Very solid players. So. A guy who was a bit of a club house lawyer. So maybe people thought that might hurt him a little bit. But it didn't. And he deserves to get in there. We've got a lot on the game as you would expect we will get everything get all rolling from Atlanta. Right after this. Morning. There was a freshly..

"There's always that little thing festering in the back of our mind. Where it's like, this is a really bad. Look at the at best. It's a bad. Look at worse. It's what. Saints fans are saying that the NFL wanted the Rams to be in the Super Bowl. And while many people don't like Roger Goodell. I think that when he has. Come out and said things when he is concise when he has, you know, when it's not the domestic violence where it's punishment. You know, as we go just on a case by case basis, something like this Roger Goodell. Give very powerful message someone and listen to it. But I think for the general populace that doesn't get sucked into all the conspiracy theories about where the referees in that game. We're from any of that stuff. I think it would go a long way to kind of just put the matter behind us. And we'll run back that audio later, and then you can. You know, you can make your own decisions when it comes to whether you're done with this. Or whether it's still casting a pall because when you talk when we talked on Monday about the story lines going this week one of them, unfortunately with still. The officiating just because the NFL Hanan dealt with it. In a real way our river on did not go on his NFL network shows as normally on dispute, this it was like a prepared statement. You didn't hear anything from the crew chief? So they just kinda let it fester, and it just hasn't gone away. And it really has cast a pall over the beginning of this week. So we'll run that audio back a little bit later, and you can decide for yourself. Whether you are putting the non pass interference call behind you and focusing on ramps and patriots one of the other topics that he broached when he spoke was the Denver Broncos ownership situation. You tune into the show on a regular basis, you know, just how ugly this thing has gotten. It is one of the daughters from Pat bolan first marriage pitted against one of the daughters from his more recent marriage to Annabel bolan who is still married to Pat Joe Ellis. What role is he playing? Did he terminate the contract of the other daughter to keep her from reaching the the goals that were set by Pat bolan to take over as the Broncos head coach, John Boland? Not really a inconsideration for the ownership job. But you know, he's causing his own problems getting hammered and making videos with Vance Joseph. You have the pats brothers suing the trust alleging that. They are not acting in the best interest of what Pat bolan wanted and initially the NFL had said we like the trust. The trust is good. We we trust the trust. But.

"I do wanna get his out here. What will it mean to you to see the bowl and family next year? Oh, man. That's a lot a lot of if pack yet. Well, it's going to happen. I'm confident that it's going to happen usually when you're coming out of a committee yet it's you're, you're, you're, you're going to be in came out of the contributor committee along with gillibrand. He'll deal brand of football. He definitely knows your your, your combine. Have you talked him? Yes, I'm just he knows like some of the most random stuff about you. I know at school you went to the guy that was across town and. Yeah, interesting stuff. He knows. Socrates is vertical leap is. Little to Socrates vertical leap is a great fantasy team, but what will it mean to you? A lot bone family? Yeah, a lot. You know, I'm excited about it because you know, just all the years I was with Pat bolan and what he's done for not only the Broncos man, but the city of Denver Colorado, the the National Football League enough NFL network, network committees, everything he's done. Now people get a chance to really see what Pat, what he's done, like what his legacy really is. About him. He doesn't want credit for anything. Never did. He always stayed in the shadows and just warranty wanted to make sure everything was first class as it can be. He only cared about other people and not himself a very gracious to me, and my family took care of me when I was at the Super Bowl, thirty two and San Diego. I had a huge list of people that needed to go to game and Pat was like to have all of that stuff, ma'am. Family I have just see was just so gracious man and and really had a relationship with him not like owner player, but more like like two people respect it, what they did. So yeah, it's going to be in the world of me. I can't wait to go down the Broncos. Family is going to be really emotional. It's gonna be a great day, and I just hope his bust has like a perfectly dimpled tie involved. Right AB just a collar of a mink coat coming around. He must kill me coat like when when he became a big deal because it was just too much attention. I just. Great, good to see you Terrell human and the NFL network. Just like me. Yes, we have. We have a pick them show on Fridays. It's right. It's you and it's Aaron, Costco, Ellie. It's we have Dan Haley. That's right. And you and Cynthia Freeland. It's right Cynthia with the with the the model, yes, checks all the games. Nails every owego. Good to see you. Terrell Davis at Terrell, underscore Davis for the radio stick around because I will describe to you how Terrell describes what we saw last night between Steve Smith and Michael Irvin to come up next on the TV side of things here. "Hot but you guys are not hot there I mean what what's the deal you get a break Onto sorry about that somebody. Turned my mic off their Mike oh good now we got. A nice break from the the typical August heat and humidity here in the nation's capital it's been delightful I, mean this is this about as good as it, gets right here yeah no, doubt all right so who's hot again we. Have to focus on the quarterbacks because they just garnered so much attention as it is and. Swag. Kelly continues to impress my friend squad Kelly, van, yeah he is really made a move Mike as everybody knows Broncos fans no he is now the number two quarterback for this football team twenty on a thirty two hundred, sixty seven, yards, three touchdowns in. A, pick, a mate he has lit up when he gets a chance to play we'll probably see a lot, of Chad Kelly here in the second. Half and, because? Chat Kelly's done? So well it's it's Doc Paxton Lynch down to the. The number three quarterback and, we really don't know where this is going. To go with Paxton. Lynch we talked about this last week it feels. Like maybe it's time to move on. You, know. Maybe give him a fresh start someplace else in in the Broncos kind of cut there cut bait with. Paxton Lynch and. Move on, also want to mention Pat bolan we're gonna talk about who's. Hot, I think. We should. Mention Pat bolan he, is a finalist for the pro football hall of fame lot of people give him a lot of credit. For ratings and revenue growth during the time that. He's, owned the Denver Broncos and it's about time and it looks like. Next, year I think the chances are really really good we're going to see Pat bolan, in the hall of fame. And maybe even champ Bailey and John. Yeah we might be making a trip to canton next year. I tell you what I I would think that Mr. be for sure champ Bailey good chance maybe John, Lynch, is what That would be tremendous, wanted to ask you because you guys were on the team plane yesterday when. That news was coming down can. You just talk about the reaction is as it. Began to, filter through the team of course everybody that's associated with this franchise could not be happier. And more excited that Mr. bowl and we'll. Finally get to honor that he. Deserves and it's not official yet. So we we don't want to jump. The shark but it it looks like it's probably going to. Happen all indications are that he will be in the hall of fame next year and yeah this he meets so much to this franchise and so, much to the the people that. Played for him over the years, and and. The people that work for the Denver Broncos you know that have worked here for a long time. There's, a lot of people here on this staff and in. The administration that have been, a part of this franchise for a long. Time and they love. Mr Pat bolan so everybody Really really excited about that yeah I don't think there's any question and you know I. It's gonna take an eighty percent vote from the full. Committee typically that's stamp that's what is looking like yeah I think the fact he's gotten this far he he's he's going to get in, that's what all the so-called experts. Are saying Let's talk a little bit about, who's not hot Isiah McKenzie with the fumble last week did that diminish his stock at all do you think in the eyes of the coaching staff I would think, so Mike. You know after that electrifying seventy eight, yard punt return for a touchdown against Minnesota in the first preseason game I thought. He had the roster made but when you're a guy who fumbled six times last year in your rookie year and then you fumble again, in the second preseason game and not only you know just fumbling he fumbled. At the most inopportune time the team was driving down for. What would have been a game winning field goal it's so I, would think that he's. Got, to earn the trust of these coaches from this, point, on he was devastated after the game and I could see. Why, he would. Be based on what happened. Last, year he's the guy you really pull for the very, likable kid he's got a. Ton of athletic talent and speed and flash And you just hope? That t- can protect the ball a little bit better? And and I think. He's, still got, a good shot of making the roster but I think that that definitely. Didn't help him last week, no it didn't help them but I, mean as you said with that speed that quickness that game breaking ability man you'd think he will get every opportunity somewhat argue he has been getting every opportunity to, make this. Club again absolutely and you know with, the emergence of Philip Lindsey though here in preseason it looks like Philip Lindsay could. Be the kick returner and the punt returner if it worked out that way which makes it even tougher fight for Isiah McKenzie yeah Vance, Joseph talked about this week you know the starters getting say more time more. Than put a number snap site do you think we'll see. Lindsey again is the punt returner a time or two tonight Oh I would think so yeah I. Think, we're. Gonna see a good dose, of the starters in it, and, it looks like Philip Lindsey who still has something. To prove undrafted college free? Agent, I think he'll be getting plenty of reps here tonight Rick Lewis with us, a couple, last things Rick Paxton Lynch I I gotta go there for a minute because it seems like we're all waiting for the other? Shoe to drop do you think it will drop at some. Point before the Broncos. Opened, the season and specifically. I. Mean do you think he'll be this team or is it too early, to tell if I had, to, make a an educated guess I would say he's not. Here when they opened the season I don't know why At this point I think I think it's, more. Likely you'll. See, a veteran backup quarterback brought in at some point before we start the season I think that's more likely than. The chances of seeing Paxton Lynch on the roster now we'll see how it goes all as, always my, friend great stuff thank you all right thank you might Rick Lewis with us from FedEx field in Landover Maryland he will of? Course join Dave Logan on the broadcast Tyler Columbus roaming the. Sidelines speaking.

"The reins of the denver broncos but beth and wallace seems to think that she deserves it the most unfortunate thing because this is just going to be like kardashian stuff this the broncos aren't going to be up for sale they're not gonna be you know absorbed by the league or anything like that like they'll figure it out and the broncos will either win or lose based on how case keenum plays in the decisions john elway makes it will have nothing to do with what's going on with the ownership situation however the saddest thing about this is that i feel like if pat bolan is healthy he keeps his kids at bay this timing by beth bowl and wallace makes me feel like her father is in really bad shape because i think it was pat bowlen's the last thing pat bolan would want is for his children to be fighting with each other over who gets the denver broncos and the fact that one of them has basically thrown down the gauntlet and said this team is mine makes me feel like mr bolan is not doesn't have all of his facilities to be able to hold off his children in this infighting anymore and that's the most sad thing about this that's the saddest thing all this bickering and fighting at the end of the day the bones are going to keep the broncos as long as john elway joe elyssa running things you have one of the best run organizations in football and you're gonna win or lose games based on the arm of case keenum von miller pass rush is gonna have nothing to do with the bowlen's by it is disappointing to see the beginning of what's going to be a very drawn out and figuratively speaking bloody battle for control of the denver broncos two eight six zero zero four six if you want to weigh in on any of the stories that are driving the.

"The word steve where you just atmosphere i guess what i'm thinking of where you know that something's different and and i've been through it with corporate mergers before and things where it's like okay well these people really do want to want to win as opposed to just kind of treading water not really yeah i guess that football players when they're when they're doing their thing are are are pretty compartmentalized if you will pretty focused on what's going on and really who's who who owns the team at that time really doesn't have that didn't have that much effect on what's going on at that specific moment but you realize that over time as you were there longer that you realized that things have changed from the standpoint of you know the front office acted different and an office then matriculated down to the coaching staff which then acted different than which in turn you know things were different around the organization so there was a different deal about it but it was a slow transition into that which which is good you know you don't want something abrupt coming they're sorta taking the focus off with football was all about football games and made sure that he didn't disrupt that football people alone just do what they did that which was which manageable volun guys play football so he's smart enough to do that and he hired really really smart people around in that jim thanks and you know that glenn went later went down jim more things like that which really began sorta turnaround of the franchise remember seeing pat bolan when i was little bitty gone to the game and and he was in a huddle actually with i think it was john elway before the game and in clapping his hands and so forth and i think mr benson was just the opposite when it comes to ban a hands on hands off owner i everyone look at it in terms of putting football people in their place as a player the owner comes into the huddle before the game and and leans in and claps his hand is that something that's does it matter.
