"Zero we are just tiny washing past mall. Kashogi I want to dive in because the debate today finally between Kevin de Leon. State Senator against our long senior Senator from the state of California. Dianne Feinstein is about to happen. I want to get into that. And what that means with the Democrats in this state to and I just got the latest poll numbers of what's happening with the governor's race and everything else. So let's talk some state politics. I I wanna take your calls on kashogi four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten Peter in Petaluma, Peter you're on KGHM with Ethan Bearman. Hey there. So we were just talking with your screener about the green card portion. I guess you were saying that. I I didn't quite you kept saying green card like that gave him some protection or something. Extended writes, it makes us your screeners that gives us interest in the case. But but more importantly now, it's unfortunate what happened to this guy? But we're dealing with a country that how many people did they kill yesterday. How many the day before they they don't have a first amendment or a second or they're running short on amendments over there. And I think the only reason we're even discussing this is because who we worked for. So the real question is do you want to pay seven bucks a gallon for gas and shake up our line of the Middle East over this guy? And for me, the answer is no, right. I really do want to directly address the Peter thanks for calling in. I want to address the green card thing because it is a big deal. Green US legal permanent residents, aka green card holders, are protected and obligated under all US laws Justice citizens are. So if our president is going to make a huge international did with our NATO ally. Ally Turkey over the imprisonment under Turkish law, by the way, he was convicted pastor Andrew Brunson. So all of a sudden we're gonna care, and we're gonna put huge efforts behind putting pressure on Turkey to release pastor Brunson. He's Christian by golly. Then we have to do the same. When it comes to things like a journalist who is protected under every single obligation, right and law as a citizen because he's a green card holder. Yes. It is a legal distinction. That he wasn't just a worker for the Washington Post. He was actually a green card holder, a permanent US legal permanent resident protected and obligated under all US laws. So you're telling me a Christian pastor who by the way, I agree that we needed to do something about pastor Brunson. I'm not against what we did for pastor Brunson. However, if you're going to go to that degree of effort diplomatically, four pastor Brunson, then you're gonna make the same stink about one of our journalists being murdered. Over there as well. So would you have been upset if the pastor Brunson had been butchered and murdered? Would you have said, hey, we need to find out what's going on? And we got to do something about that. Because he's a pastor by. Golly. What's the it's actually the same thing in the first amendment and the rates of US citizens are the same. And when you are a permanent resident green card holder. You are protected and obligated just as a citizen as so. Yes that actually is a really important. Now, the bigger question is, hey, we just throw all morals out and say forget it. I'm not willing to pay a penny more for a gallon of gas. So do nothing about it. Well, I mean, that's a that's a different point. But if your whole starting point is who cares these a green card holder. Well, it does matter there is a legal distinction. There's a big distinction especially in light of pastor Brunson. And this is my whole point on the whole president saying innocent until proven guilty. Well, that's a load of crap if you're gonna yell locker room locker up. You don't actually believe that? Then you don't don't be a hypocrite about it. Don't be a hypocrite. By the way. Remember, I actually called for full investigation into the Email server issue with then candidate Hillary Clinton. So I try to be consistent on these issues. Four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten. If you want to talk more about that. We'll talk more about it. But I'm very interested in this debate. Today state Senator Kevin daily on is taking on our sitting Senator senior Senator Dianne Feinstein, and they're going to have a debate about their visions for the state in the nation. This is a big deal and here in the you know, it's funny because of longer term Democrats older Democrats. I guess I'm considered older. Are are in line with Senator Feinstein, and in my case, my argument is this not with Senator deleo, I turned aliens done so many things that I just I have issues with. But he's the progressive. He's the far more kind of aggressive and progressive democrat on the ticket. Sarah Feinstein is more of a traditional moderate. She really is. I don't care who you are. If you factually observe these two she is way more toward the center, then Kevin de Leon is. But I think that in this day and age in particular, we need some of those senior people in Washington. I don't think today is the day for Senator state Senator daily on to become US Senator daily on. I just don't think. So I think we need that experience to navigate the Senate. I think we need that experience in that knowledge of the institution. Now, I think when she wins. I don't think she runs for re-election. She's she's getting too old. I mean, let's be honest about. But if you listened to her during the debate. She was a sharp as any per cavenaugh hearing. She's a sharp is any person on that committee. Absolutely sound mind. Intelligent, knowledgeable. I again, I have. I'm sure I have my issues with center finds my issues that everybody I don't even agree with myself entrepreneurs. Okay. But I don't think it's the time for Senator daily on to become United States Senator yet. I just don't I think we need. I think we need that mix. I'm a big believer in this, by the way that balance of I want people who are seasoned who were experienced and everything in life. I want older generation people to be participating I want their knowledge their wisdom their experience mixed with the enthusiasm and the energy and everything else of the younger generation who maybe has some new ideas, and maybe isn't a cynical because they're younger and newer and greener and fresh around these things I love that mix in right now. Now, I know, of course, all the Republicans hate this. But right now, we have a kind of what I see is the perfect mix between Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris, young energetic. Senator Harris, fresher ideas, newer, not as jaded not. As what Senator Feinstein of anybody knows how that system works in DC. She gets it. She knows it is she a perfect human being. No, there's no such thing as a perfect human being. She was mayor of San Francisco. She was a very good mayor. I know a lot of people who worked with her over the years, and they are I don't have a single person who has something negative to say unless they happen to be a right wing Republican is just be on that basis doesn't like her. But it's not because of the quality of her work or her dedication to her work. So I'm just curious because the polls have her twenty points ahead of Kevin de Leon. It's not even close. So at this point, this is why people like Senator Feinstein don't bother getting into these debates with people like state Senator daily on. Because why she got to win by.

"Talkradio six eighty WCBS one on top stories over the weekend was the decision by Turkish officials to release American pastor. Andrew Brunson who met with the president of the White House on Saturday. That was certainly welcome news with again, I agree with Jerry Falwell junior. This was a testament not to only the president's strength, but more importantly, his strength of heart and his character. If you're not familiar with story at Turkish court freed Brunson on Friday after he had been held prisoner for two years following an attempted military coup in Turkey. He was charged as a conspirator in the plot. But Turkish authorities weren't able to provide any satisfactory evidence to back up the charges against the only thing that Brunson was guilty of conspiring to do with spread the word of God. In a largely Muslim nation. He's been doing it for twenty years to the Christians who are trapped in this Muslim L after being arrested and imprisoned under appalling conditions where he was subjected everyday attempts to convert him to Islam. Pastor Brunson remains strong in his faith. And Turkish officials move the fifth year old pastor to house arrest in July in the face of US pressure. Sanctions tough sanctions of Turkish officials by President Trump and his administration. Vice president Pence issued a stern warning. The Turks will be out the president when he said quote to believers across America Icee, pray for pastor Brunson while he's out of jail. He still had free and the president of the Turkish government. Have a message on behalf of the president United States of America release pastor Andrew Brunson now or be prepared to face the consequences. If Turkey does not take immediate action to free this innocent man of faith and send him home to America. The United States will impose significant sanctions on Turkey until pastor. Andrew Brunson is free. The Turks didn't heed the vice president's warning the president posed economic sanctions, but they didn't stop there. It continued to threaten further sanctions. Unless Brunson was released when the Turkish court finally released a Brunson. It was against the wishes of government. Prosecutors they were trying to keep an imprisoned for like a decade or so, but they basically came up with this convenient excuse that he was time already served. So they released him under relenting pressure. And by the way, President Trump gave ten thousand dollars of his own money to supporters who have fallen on hard times last year. He gave a million dollars of his personal fortune help with hurricane RV. And once again, he displays his moral fortitude and staying after pastor brunson's plight, and so again, the liberal media was wrong. As usual. He said this could not have been could not have been done. President Trump found a way to do it and. Yeah. And in thank thanks to President Trump. Pastor Brunson was in the White House on Saturday. And this is the most powerful moment of the weekend. When president President Trump was blessed and prayed with pastor Brunson who had dropped to his knees to pray for the president..

"Occurred yesterday in the Oval Office. But as you, and I get together on the evening of the Lord's day as it is called by those of us in the Christian community Sunday the first day of the week Sunday each week. The celebration of the resurrection of our savior. I just cannot help. But think that the man who was doing that praying on bended knee not in protest in the Oval Office. But in earnest prayer. With all the cameras. Did you hear just the the shutters of the cameras continue as this man was spring? The voice belongs to American pastor. Andrea brunson. Who's originally from a place? I know pretty well since I'm a native north Carolinian up in black mountain. That's the place. Andrew Brunson calls home. But for. The last two decades. He's been preaching in Turkey. At the Izmir resurrection church and for the last two years. Pastor Brunson was on his knees not in the Oval Office, but in a jail cell because Erdo Juan and the Turkish government somehow thought he was a spy. Accused of committing crimes on behalf of Kurdish militants and aiding Pennsylvania based Muslim cleric for to lead Gula. And this pastor Andrew Brunson was facing thirty five years in a Turkish jail. Had he been convicted of those crimes. But President Trump and his administration went to work. And era Dewan and the Turks freed Andrew Brunson. So pastor Brunson feels as if he has a new lease on life, but his role in life is as a pastor. And while prayer is an avenue open to all of us. And while some interpret scripture to say, go into the prayer closet. Don't bring attention. I just have to tell you from my perspective yesterday. To see pastor Brunson on bended knee to see him places hand on the shoulder of the forty fifth president of the United States and ask for God's blessing unashamedly. The word you used to close out that prayer us right now. Amen. Now, if you're a regular listener to this program, you're saying, oh, wait a minute. That is not Steve Sanchez. You would be correct in that analysis. It is not Steve Sanchez. It is however the recovering congressman JD Hayworth. I did this show is really about you. And what you have to say. And the phones are open at one eight seven seven forty nine. Steve that's one eight seven seven four nine seven eight three eight three. But just to fill in the blanks. You might be curious. Some of you know, me from my years in congress. Some of you may know me from broadcasting and my most recent broadcast home for the last four years at Newsmax TV. But it is so great. That my friend, Steve when he and his bride we're going to take a little time off he said J D, I want you in there. And so we're here tonight, and we'll get together next Sunday night to talk about what is going on in the world, or what is on your mind? And I will tell you the image. In the words of pastor. Andrew Brunson speak volumes. No doubt the pastor and many Americans have been praying for his release in those prayers had been realized. Maybe this this way at your house. Who is the real prayer warrior at your house at my house? There's no competition. My bride miss Mary. Is diligent. And faithful in her prayers. She wakes up in the morning, and she will just stayed. I mean o dark thirty. It's not just laying around the hacienda. But but she will. Pray for a good half hour. And then starter day. Well, pastor brunson's bride, you can only imagine. With the family separated with pastor Brunson and a Turkish slammer. And let me tell you. That's no holiday if you remember if you're of a certain age near a baby boomer, you might remember the movie from the nineteen seventies midnight express, and the horrors of being picked up on a drugs charge and put in a Turkish prison. One aside. That prison used in the nineteen seventies. Is now a luxury hotel and STAN bull. Where yours truly has stayed before. And it is mere Turkey's third largest city not too terribly far from a place you've read about in scripture. Emphasis. Where Paul brought the word if you ever have a chance to go to emphasise. It is amazing because the place where Paul preached. Is still there. And the jars of clay are buried in the ground to give amplify -cation. And when we were there. Our American presence in his smear really no security to speak of they are a federal government and military personnel were renting space in an office building. And the air force. Colonel insurance said, hey, you gotta watch your step. We're on a small elevator. That doesn't look like an elevator. You know, the kind I'm talking about the the doors have a regular like door. And it's just a little simple kind elevator. In fact, I remember seeing one at a. At a Baptist church. I would visit on occasion. Not your typical elevator with the standard buttons. Just the little kind of doors that you get any clothes and you go up and down mud anyway. The air force Colonel told this congressional delegation of which I was apart. Said, hey, look, be careful because the other night. My sister was in ear and a guy tried to shoot him and had my sister, not moved his head. It would have been fatal. Needless to say, I kind of lost my appetite. And I usually have a great appetite. But but before I before I go on here. I want you to hear a real prayer warrior. Listen to the pastor's wife. She said this short prayer following your husband in the Oval Office. Listen. Well, we're apparently having there..

"Welcome back to Jay segula live this jordansekulow. I want to say it every time we come back from break because if people are just joining us, let me make it clear for everybody. Pastor Andrew Brunson who we represent at the American for law and Justice has been released from his detainment in Turkey. I say that because he was imprisoned from October two thousand sixteen to July of two thousand eighteen and then put under house arrest from July of two thousand eighteen until today when he had a trial in Turkey and was found to time served basically, he'll be giving his passport back, and he'll be returning to the United States of America. And again, the US government working with him. So don't feel like he is they're having to navigate this alone with his wife, his children here in the United States US there. Three two sons and one daughter anxiously awaiting a return to their father as well as. The good news. He has been released just for purposes, if you're interested, what will likely happen is he will be on a. US plane that will then go and stop at a military base in Germany. Could go through kind of just basic debriefing there, which is normal in these situations when you have Americans who have been detained abroad for political or religious reasons. And then we'll ultimately be arrive in the United States of America. So these are big moments for people. So you need to continue to pray for pastor Brunson his family because to go from imprisonment for a year and a half, and then ultimately the house arrest, and then to be free, and then returned to the US that is. Joyous day. There's a lot to take in so pray for the family free for the Brunson family, and for all of those who have been working so hard a big thank you to the president United States who really took a lead on. This certainly took a lead the vice president vice president Pence a secretary of state Pompeo as well as many members of the United States Senate house of representatives. I'll say STAN. If there's anybody I'm missing out that you want to recognize in congress is a great time to do it. Then. Yeah. Well, there I mean there are literally scores were Jordan. I mean, the first letter that we had back in February of two thousand seventeen had seventy eight members of the house and Senate on and then in April when Thom Tillis led the letter with Jean Shaheen it had sixty six members of the United States Senate. I mean, two thirds of the United States Senate, Jordan. So obviously, we can't go through all of those names. But I will tell you this back on that initial letter. It was co led by the four chairman and ranking members of the house foreign affairs committee and the Senate Foreign Relations committee, so that would be Bob corker, Ben Cardin, and Royce and Elliott angle. And why do I mention that? That's a big deal Jordan because when you get both the chairman and the ranking member of those two committees of jurisdiction speaking with one voice to to an ally of the United States. I mean that can be very tricky thing. But those four members came together agreed on a message recruited members of both the house and Senate to join that letter so Jordan. I would I would probably be quicker to name those who didn't participate in some level than those who did. But again, I would tell you this bicameral bipartisan speaking in one voice in one voice that was really led by the president. They came behind that message, and they agreed with it. All right, folks, as we take your phone calls one eight hundred sixty four thirty one ten joyous day as you can tell us we've been up late working through the night sticking with what is happening. Taking nothing for granted. Those news reports that come out and still to this moment. Even when again, I think it was Senator Lindsey Graham, I totally agree with him is one of the attorneys working on this feel a lot better when he is out of Turkish airspace. Cata cannot breathe that sigh of relief because there's a lot of moving parts right now seen that before. But but it is a great day so day to celebrate. Let's go to the phones. One eight hundred six eight four thirty one ten Lawrence has been hold on line from Kansas online. One large. Welcome to jaysekulow live. Hi there. I just got I wanted to draw a broadcast. I think it's amazing where President Trump has done. What vice-president parents are done and the amazing contour bridge that have been out there. I know having served in the military for quite some time before he retired that Turkey can often be a tricky partner can change their mind pretty often in pretty quickly with very much provocation. And it's amazing to see the kind of steps that we've been able to take in the amount of support that's been out there. What I want to know is while the iron is hot. Well, all the support is out there on the people are focusing and all the people who are working hard. Can we refocus this on Asia Abebe? Maybe space in Pakistan that is that is actually at Pakistan's highest court. So there may be resolution there very soon as she is not an American citizen. We actually have an office in Pakistan, that's working on this case directly. So we are involved. It is different when it's not an American citizen. But but I would remind you that the United States government often works on these human rights cases behind the scenes, even when it does not involve a US citizens. And so in her matter, though, it is reached the judges the trial is over after eight years in prison were now awaiting a judgement there and will be updated from our our our staff in Pakistan. Take a listen to pastor Brunson sister on Fox News this morning. I think it just underscores the importance of all of you who listen to this broadcast who support the work of the J who call yourself ACL J members. Take a listen, I think a lot of times people will see some cases possibly get more. Attention. Than others. And they wonder why it is. I think in in this case, it was the shaping the driving force and really pushing this the end putting up those meetings for us as a family. I really don't believe we'd be here today without the administration that we have in place now working so hard so tired McLean to bring into I that. Again. She says it right there the ACO big driving force. And again, I'm not enor- organization taking all of this credit. What we do is again, take it to government officials. I mean, the US government had to lead this. We said that the number of times, but you've got to have a group and organization t round you that has relationships that can work with those government officials whether that is the executive branch the president, the vice president secretary of state State Department and their their staffs and teams or the legislative branch members of congress as well fan. I mean, it's very important. It all comes together. And you put this driving force starts. With meetings. It starts with getting the information leading those empower get educated about the matter, and and then they go to work utilizing their contacts. And in this case, many of them had a especially in congress long-term context because Turkey is a NATO ally. You only win. These is a team Jordan, and it starts with this six hundred thousand members of the ACLU Jay that made this a priority for them took their personal time to engage to lend their voice to us. And then we were able to use those voices, Jordan. You're right to go to the administration and go to bipartisan members of the house and Senate and go to the international community and demand attention on this. But I would say this even with all of that in place, Jordan, and that's quite an effort. It's quite a team effort. But even with all of that in place, we are not used to getting the response from the apparatus of government that we got this time. So I will say that this administration in this State Department deserves a lot of credit in that regard. Look we've had success with previous administrations inside state departments on various cases, but human rights cases tend to upset the apple courtroom when it comes to issues of priority inside the State Department, we never encountered that on this case, Jordan. They were always open to taking this case and find the in fact, they took the information from us, and then actually took the lead on it from all the way from the White House. The president. Set the tone and gave a directive down through the vice president who is specifically engaged over. The course of two secretaries of states down through the State Department officials and then back out to bipartisan members of congress, Jordan. I will tell you this. I have never seen the unified voice on a human rights case inside the apparatus in the United States government as I have seen on this. So it's a team effort, and it does start on that grassroots. But this administration deserves an awful lot of credit for the way, the United States government behaved enacted aggressively..
