Meyer had a history of using wide receivers in specific roles at ohio. State like the nets. Why michael thomas was under drafted in real life. Terry mclaren was way under drafted is because they were kinda difficult to evaluate because they really only had specific roles. In if you go back and watch parris campbell at ohio state you watch his highlights is like everything's a drag route. You go back and watch Everything's like downfield target. michael thomas. He he played a specific kind of one trick role and those guys wound up being really under drafted by the actual nfl. And so if he does. I think the dj sharp would be the the perimeter deep threat role player. Marvin jones would be like the the guy in the in the middle. And then chenault i think would be the run after catch dot so that. That's that's another knock against. Dj shark in I don't know i wouldn't say that. I'm souring on him. But i mean i i get i get both perspectives on 'em so i don't know it's i think i think the ranking here in the evaluation is actually a work in progress right now. Okay two more outliers. Are you know maybe better talents. I don't know department. Parker free damn good talent and willful and i think because they have the depth that receiver. I think that he's going to be the guy devante. Parker is gonna be the guy who was unaffected by that. It would make a lot more sense for them to eat. And jalen waddell as a rookie and we'll fuller. Who has the injury track record with guys like win. Bowden and the akeem grant or ilson preston williams you. I think those guys are going to experience. The the rotational effect and devante parker is going to be the the time player and i mean i was listening to leoni and ben grouches pockets which are really good. I mean they're freaking long nosed talk forever and if we are getting to leoni though because it looks like he went outside. Did you notice. Somebody called and asked me a question about peyton the other day and what the expectations that payton said you know when he became the quarterback here and i think that's just transformed over. That's what the organization's expectations on. I mean the expectations are to win. And there's a high level and there's been a. There's been a tremendous history of here so those are the expectations. We understand them. And we'll do everything we can to make the city state proud. What about the expectations for carson wentz. You obviously brought him in. Everyone is a lot of high expectations for him. He came in and spoke with patent. Studio was great i guess. What are you expecting him this year. So big did not expect that. Chris do his job. You know we much like with everybody else. Just do your job settled. Do run the offense. We're not. We're not asking you to be superman There'll be some weeks where you know. We're going to ask him to make some plays that are unusual plays it only a few guys can make but do your job. That's what we're going to ask him to be the best teammates you can be and you know be to be the best you can be as a player to your job just like we do everybody else you okay. I don't know if you've heard me all right. I assume you have pretty large show happens to be in the city that you reside but as a football fan and as a coach fan because of all the friends that i have in the building and wanting to see the city and them succeed. I've had my own thoughts about things especially after watching last year with. Ty potentially now injuries happen but with ti eating up a lot of the coverage and you see a lot of these other teams that are have massive amounts of success being stat at the weapon position. So and i am just like you said a person. That does overreacted. Things i mean. I ride the wave there so when i hear julio is available when i hear these up i start going crazy. I've listened to every interview you have had since then and since that move. You have a lot of faith in this weapons that you've brought in. I don't think we've gotten to see. Any of them is basically what you have really told me because of situations. Is that how. I should do this and why. Why am i so amped up on getting another superstar in the building chris. What's that all about with music. It's not just you know we look. We think we we got guys that can be superstars like one of the things that like people don't like the unknown they don't they don't like it. At some point you know guys pop up and they become great players. And i think we have a couple of young players that can do that. We we have a strong belief in michael pittman He's a big talented kid. I think if you watched unfortunately you know. We had the shin injury last year. That was pretty. It was a pretty severe injury and end up coming back from but still finished the season strong. We saw the start. That parris campbell had last year and it was really strong. He's got to stay healthy. He knows it. He's worked hard this offseason to get his body right so he can so he can have a big season and the guy that you know people just kind of brush over zach pasco but i mean all he does is produce. I mean he just goes out there and does all the dirty work catches touchdowns and produces so we like the group as a whole and then with ty think you know still adds a dangerous element to our team you know. Last year we finished second in the league and explosive place. And i mean those were coming from somebody. I mean somebody was having. Those explosive plays so second in league with explosive plays. Hey who was telling you to get a weapon that you had to look up with somebody. Mind my kids. Keep telling me with somebody. Gimme this it or is that something you know as the season goes like. Hey we're pretty good and it's supposed to place. Now i mean we track it in and it's a it's something that we track but we also look always wanna add great players..

Shnell personal preference is what separates them really. I mean i like. I like i was saying early. I i would much prefer deebo samuel to any other names you just said I prefer deebo samuel chase claypool and i think it's reasonable be on either side of that but i the the ones that i have a hard time getting excited about in this range john brown and especially parris campbell and maybe it's just because like i just don't i'm going to have to see it. I after two years of not being able to stay healthy or or playing that. I don't think it's going to be particularly good. Pass offense anyway and it seemed. It appears the best case. Scenario is the third option in the passing game. I believe just for some context. I believe deebo samuel wide receiver. Forty eight for dave. I think that's the point. Where at so these. This is clearly wide receiver for ride wide receiver. Five range so you're talking bench players even in your three wide receiver leagues and i think. There's there's upside with all of them. Like heath i think campbell campbell's probably the hardest to see it with and john brown. I mean we saw it with nelson agholor. I do think. John brown's a better player than nelson agholor. But i don't think nelson agholor did was sustainable last season. My favorite in this group might be mike williams well. Do samuel. But then mike williams. I'm starting to really talk myself into mike williams. He's actually going what's gone poorly no well. They think he's been one of those guys. Who has the ability to be a red zone monster. He showed the ability to be a a high yardage big-play guy and he just hasn't done them in the same season. I don't think they're actually going to use him. As michael as michael thomas of this offense despite the quotes from lombardy but i think he's super talented. I think that could be a really good offense. Settings is a situation where you can get a really cheap piece of what should be very good offense with a guy who's clearly the number two non running back receiver and could just be the number two option. the passing. yeah. I think i think he's likely to be number three but i think he'll tight end targets. Probably go down. I also think this is a good place to start talking about guys like terrorists. Marshall michael hartmann henry ruggs more alive more alive you more and from what adams extensive research research showed us like you get to this range. You're in the double digit rounds. You should only be drafting rookies. And she just grabbed all of the rookie wide receivers. Because we don't ever get good wide receivers after route ten except for rookies. That what my research showed showed. I mean. You should probably probably just dragging quarterbacks at this point anyway but yeah if there were a year to just take shots on rookie wide receivers. It might be this one. We thought it was a good rookie wide receiver class. And you didn't even mention amari. Rogers but i run took more rogers and scott fishbowl. "Draftkings vandal have still let People get two hundred fifty. Maybe they'll cap it out there. But i know it doesn't sound like a lot of people but for profit that's not bad. So credited draftkings vandal for having a big menu and also allow people to bet you know reasonable. Two hundred fifty is that have you noticed that at all amigo as you've been firing at these yet. I don't think i can get more than like three dollars down at mgm. So the limit delimits are definitely way different. I mean i think vandals only maybe live me like once or twice and i'm very much batting pretty similarly across everyone like you said Shut out to them. Yeah for sure. Yeah and like. I said like we're not gonna get richer but one of the reasons that it's so solved is because they're not allowing people to bet a thousand five thousand ten thousand on these if you only allow people to bet to re three hundred while you can have this as kind of marketing thing And people like it. I like it. it's fun. Okay let's talk some more about this under stuff. The only because people hate to hear. If you don't like betting on but man on season-long props. I just might god and there's a few reasons why i think for for weeklies for a second. I think the media. I mean stuff is a conversation worth having in other words. Books are so often using seasonal averages for their weekly props but the seasonal average does not take into account. The moa cox had like one game ninety yards but six games of fifteen or less in also take into context. That may be win. Cox had that ninety our game jack. Doyle was hurt and to me. That's the main case for unders in weekly. I wanna get to the case for underdog unders in season-long in a second but under unders in weekly leoni. I think mean verse. Median is is the most important thing anything else on the weeklies why we lean under so heavy. Yeah i mean when you get to the guys like travis. Calcium whatnot have really high yardage props. Their distributions are little bit more normal meaning. The meeting meaning media are a little bit closer but again. It's kind of fifty fifty thing amigo. Sad like the lines fifty fifty. There's still more things that can probably go. Wrong for travis kelsey. That are being big into line whether it's an in game injury blow out that type of thing and then the players like marquez valdes. Scantling just sticks out as a guy who you're randomly have three four hundred. But then i'll have some games or touches one or two short passes and that's it. The guys would the lower yardage props generally have the bigger disparity between their mean and median projection. Because they'll have especially guys like a high eight dot like they'll have a again if they're taking their seasonal allergies for receiving such high yards per cash. If there's just a lot more variance in that and when they're going over they might be beating the over by a lot but they're going under more frequently okay for purpose of today that i wanna talk about season-long i mean my god think about all the ways. A season long can go under injuries. Rest loss of roll roll wasn't what we expected in the first place a preseason injury a pre-season signing that changes in season signing that changes uses issues really hard for the books to make these numbers low enough especially at running back and wide receiver maybe quarterback because their injury rate is less. Maybe you can make case there but for running back while she pretended it's just really hard with books to make it low enough Don't know is there anything. I'm missing there. It just seems like it's. I'm like in pain to take over on this season long props. Yeah i mean. I know a to hilton's in example of one of the first season long prop bets. I think that we listed all off season. And i forget the exact number i think it was. His catchers was sixty four at sixty four and a half catches yet ourselves more conservative. We have him like barely at fifty catches. But that's just an example of a bat where he can play seventeen games and not hit right. We can make a decent argument for him not hitting it being a coin flip. Maybe even being slightly on our side even. Let's say it's fifty fifty over seventeen games the things that can go. Wrong parris campbell. Michael pittman are there. It's a new quarterback. It's a run heavy offense. It's very spread out target shares in this offense and you can tell yourself a lot of ways that this goes wrong for t y hilton before even factoring in a bit more of the age model an injury staff and and that's why we really like unders because we feel pretty confident. We're not getting a bad line right. Like it's and the overs. You have to be a bit more careful where it's a little easier to fall into a trap so to speak because these hidden like unseen edges generally push things under the last of them that pushed things over. Would you want to be aware of younger players. That could break out. See bigger roles and where we're susceptible there but hilton's a great example of an aging player in kind of uncertain spot. Where all the things that seem like. They could break differently than you're expecting. Most of them would break negatively. A not positively. Yeah and just like specifically on you. I think they're gonna play a pretty heavy rotation again at wide receiver would surprise you. I was playing like ninety five percent of the snaps other one that we took Migos a series tony under five hundred and thirty five yards. I think that was on fox bet. At minus one ten obviously could area's. Tony enters the year with a very uncertain role. We did take in over though. I wanna touch on this for a second. Because i just got done with his rant about how i paint me to take over but i did take one. I think he took it to amigo. It was rondell more over five hundred and a half receiving yards. God i as. I was like taking it. I was like god. This is so bad. But i think rondell more is going to play the larry fitzgerald role which yielded five and a half targets per game last year except rondo. Moore's actually going to be productive work in the horizontal raid third horizontally to rondell more. Let him do stuff after the catch. I think he's gonna be really effective. I needs to be more effective than christian kirk but again. We are projecting a role here. That said five hundred half is very low for a player in this offense. Qadir's tony five. Thirty five and a half. He could be the number four wide receiver. Maybe number five option the past behind hitting her as well. So that's my case over embarrassed to say that i took it over though emeka was kind of humiliating You wanna talk specifically about the rondell more bet. Titans cockpits north and evan engram barrel to me. This team is very strong running back. It is very strong tight end and it is definitely good enough at quarterback but you look at the receivers and there's a lot of youth. This team obviously get a hilton campbell's And and locking up some good colts. Production there helps. But when your top two receivers are higgins claypool and davante probably gonna need one minimum of one probably two to win this league that they gotta hit but not a whole lot of weaknesses on others roster outside of that and they did not have to subject themselves to the weakness it receiver that they have. They went overkill. Both the tiger in ingram was perfect. Us they didn't need him and they did. They certainly didn't eat breaker mayfield It could be argued which backup quarterback to stafford that. They didn't want to have too much pink on this board. And three right three quarterbacks on one team it's way too much especially with the depth of wide receivers. If you look at some of the guys that they could have grabbed and some of the guys that are still on the board that went undrafted especially a rookie that i happen to write from clemson who is now city. You are in the situation here. Where their their lineup. Construction is somewhat questionable. And i think the losing receiver In the mix of all the players that are over at cincinnati is higgins. I think he's the one that loses volume catches and target so What an excellent team. That lee more yoga. I am looking at the next squad here. J. hamlets tight end tyler. Higby and gerald everett. Alright farrell. you look at this squad. I have no quarrel with the running backs. A lot of good use up at the top of the draft A lotta guys with a potential for a lot of volume. We've talked about higby and everett O'hagan hearst on this team as well to hit her snow offensively backup in atlanta. He does not get released or traded And josh allen. Obviously china quarterback the receivers though Against some youth here going to be a star. I think samuel would. he's healthy. He'll be all right. Michael pittman certainly could be the number one receiver in indianapolis. But after that gallup rager rugs green hamler just. There's a lot of unknowns there on the receiver depth on this team. Release this this player needs what carson wentz has to create Extended plays and when he finds them to to release the ball a quarterback. This is the greatest thing to happen for this quarterback to possibly could and it's it's really a it's good for it's good for the player. It's good for The team i think everybody is happy. This came together now player is understand it lessen very substantive money on the table so ty l. despite the fact that this deal sounds good to us he. Elton is doing whatever fantasy player would like to see a player. Do here at thirty one years old. He is betting on himself. And i would say anyone in the fantasy world Should bet on t. y. Through the draft of those first three picks obviously left more options later on the draft to address some more of these needs. But let's jump onto the add ons here. This is what we can do through free agency to try and add onto this vehicle We've got a couple players form. We think that will help including a player at a position. That's the quarterbacks best friend and that's tight end yes. They haven't had a big time tight end since mercedes lewis and they need someone that can really control the middle of fuel how. 'bout hunter henry coming over from the charges to give them that security blanket in the passing game trevor lawrence. They have weapons on the outside. But you wanna make the easy throw right over. The middle hundred. Henry can do that. Any row runner good blocker in the run game. He gives them a veteran presence. And so i think he would be nice security blanket for trevor lawrence. Says he active national football league. All right. we've talked about fixing the engine there at the top with trevor lawrence with the first overall pick. Ron i think is the offensive line though you saw even what a guy patrick mahomes was dealing with with the offensive line or porous of live play in the super bowl and holds is probably the best quarterback in the nfl right now. So you can't really blame for what was going on philadelphia giving him an offensive line like he's going to have an indianapolis. I think we might see the best version we've seen carson once. "Really lincoln. Dunk efficient passer. He's more getting some big chunks. So being able to run the football which they should be able to do with their offensive line and with jonathan taylor and then to be able to take some big shots down the field. They haven't been able to keep parris campbell healthy. I think you could fill some of that with his speed. But he's probably even more of a lack of a better phrase a gadget guy. Just get him bubbles and get him going. I would think for me them. Trying to find true over the top guy would be something they looked at here in the offseason. So here's what stands out to me about everything that you said. Because i'm hearing you as a as i'm hearing you describe what the indianapolis colts can do. My mind goes back to how carson wentz played at north dakota state have gone back and we look at high played at north dakota state. Even though he was the man they didn't necessarily run the sense through him. He was a cock of the wheel meaning. They ran the football. They did play actions. They took shots. And i think where it can go around for carson. Wentz is when you're trying to throw the ball thirty five to forty times. I think if you put them in a sweet spot where the game is heavy play action. We're pushing it vertically so fewer attempts but more bang for the buck. Maybe he's averaging eight plus yards per attempt and he is getting those chunk. Plays too big michael pittman on those big deepens or parris campbell. That's something that he didn't have in philadelphia even when we're talking about that. Mvp type season. They've never had a dominant running game. That came at you where defensively you had to say. The game is easier for the quarterback because you have one on one match ups outside. You're seeing more single hat coverage. And so frank. Reich can rebuild the confidence by making a game simpler easier and maybe asking into do less and get more a result of it. I'm gonna tell you who the big winner is in this for the colts and i don't know if people looking at from the standpoint the big winner in this trade is john taylor because if you think about his running style and now you think about the threat of using carson wentz pulling the ball on some of the zone reed and doing different things and having to account for him on the backside even just on a simple frontside play your backside and you've got to count for carson coming out the back door you. So did you catch any flak from your coaches for these acrobatics? So they didn't say much about I'll put them practice before but I don't flip often. So it's kind of one of those on state rules where you do something. It's kind of like the teacher kind of in charge like they know you shouldn't do it. So not much was said, but I know I'm not supposed to do it and I'm not going to keep doing it off. So maybe once every blue moon but excited doing some of the skills, but I can't do that all the time. All right. Well flips are great. But I'm all about the spin moves. Let's take a look at these. You know, I think I'm a nightmare out there on the field. I think of a nightmare wage at a game plan for and I think when the ball get to my hands it's a nightmare. So I think nightmare. There's probably the three best guys that I always see they always wear their faster with great strength and confidence. And you know, I think that's a great style too. They're going to get healthy and you know, I've been showing some speed this year, but it's a big place off. Can't wait for. That to maybe we'll get it raises going but I have no idea. I know we're both for three guys. I know we're both, you know, really really fast. So I that's a record to see you guys are absolute studs. But real talk, it's been surreal to see you in your job. Character in game. What is it been like being able to play as yourself in Madden? So the point because I don't play Madden often, you know with the season and stuff and all the football. It's like, you know you go home and you see work so I actually have the pleasure of seeing a lot of fans in a friend's play with me on Madden and people tag me on Instagram and other social media and my friends don't show me clips of Snapchat on Snapchat and it's remarkable my spin moves pretty fast. I like to get back to open up and break. It's a big place so I get some more speed but I would like a nightmare on Madden too. I've seen a lot of clips of people run it for two or three other yards with me so pretty cool, but maybe you know boxes and I'll get to it and see if I can play with myself but probably not 93 speed a bad. I'll take that day of the week. Well outside of Madden, let's talk about some of your favorite games. What have you been playing with the only game I really play is Apex Legends. I play fortnite a lot and I always Franklin Call of Duty, but did a big big fan of Apex started playing Apex probably about a year or two ago a good friend Dylan p.m. He went to strike when I left you and that's really all I do in my spare time. So really going to go ahead and try to see if I can play good tonight. You do it. I love that. Well when you're playing Apex, what's your favorite way to play are you fast and furious. Are you practically guy with your playstyle? Oh, we push we are not going to sit here. We'll try to win sometimes but we're going for cool games trying to you know, kill some people kill some Squad like a plane. We won't play the win but we're not going to we're definitely not playing scared. I'll tell you that. I love that when we got some Community questions for you tonight. I think this kid from North Carolina moving on to the Colts. The biggest leap was really just leaving my family, you know when to Garner High School local Garner High School. They went NC State. So family was always 20-30 minutes away. Then I'll going to the NFL. I feel like I have no choice College struggles that you would have from high school to college. I just had them college going to the NFL. So that's probably the biggest jump the game was a little bit harder ball security was, you know had to protect the ball game when really other than that, those are biggest jumps. Really I think the biggest jump was my personal life and just how I handle not being around my family and then you know, the things on the field you just go out there work hard and I think those things take care of themselves. We had big 6 a.m. To know. I'd love to attend your football camp. When is the next one night not exactly sure on the next date with the camp by dunno will probably be sometime in June or July two thousand twenty one depending on how you know, the whole world. Emack & the covert situation is going on. We're waiting for to see how things going cuz it's hard to plan that that far ahead. You don't really know what's going on now. So and for me, I don't know enough about this football camp. Tell me what have you been doing. Just on the campus, you know getting it's just a day where you know, we have coaches from all throughout the area's Pop Warner coaches and all throughout High School coaches. And I I also have a friend from the NFL comeback. We just teach fundamental technique and then we go up and I'll go out raise some kids last year we go out there have some one-on-ones we go out there and get competitive and it's really it's a great day to you know to get some nuggets, you know, hopefully I Inspire motivate one get out there and just change your life for each of them. And if they need more than one kid, that's that's a great and that's what we can try to do. Just try to show kids that you know, it doesn't matter where you're from.
