"Votes today on a Biden's nearly $2 Trillion Cove in 19 relief package that includes $1400 direct payments to many Americans. $400 a week unemployment supplement and a child allowance as much as $3600 for one year. The package also has billions of dollars targeted at local governments, schools and Corona virus vaccines. The House is expected to easily pass the bill and send it to the Senate, where the reception won't be as warm with Republicans who opposed much of the package. One element that appears doomed is a move to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. The Senate parliamentarian ruled Thursday that the minimum wage hike violates Senate rules for legislation that could pass with a simple majority.

That's of it and he wasn't great just going to say this issue. He was not the mvp this year. He's a great player. It's not it's not a. What do you call a lifetime achievement award. Because we liked him. He had fifty touchdowns his first year. Twenty six last year and this year yet thirty eight. He was not the mvp. Wow so let let me so. They win the super bowl again. No the super bowl is after the season. I respect but i'm saying at this guy wins the super bowl again. He will have to super bowls and then bp what else. You want this guy. To do. Nothin' i'm just i have nothing against that. And if is what. I'm talking about this year. The regular season that's all. Yeah and i respect that. I know aaron rodgers had a bad. "Do you do. let's see. And so i wanted to see her in that position. I think peterson thought about it. Like this rob. We got nothing to play for. Season's over for us nate such a great soldier for several years. I want to get him some reps and if you were getting crushed or crushing washington i would have been with that but you had a chance to win and i want to see hurts. In that position he ran for two. He wasn't throwing it great but he ran for two touchdowns he was making plays. You had a chance to tie with the feel. Golden you went for the touchdown. I think again not to throw it a game. I think peterson's thinking hey matter if we win or lose let me tried go forward or fourth. But it was a bad decision. Kick the field goal. See what hurts does in the fourth quarter and i think rob the players that did play they stay you own them a chance to win the game and you through in the third stringer which you know. Of course you're probably hope he pulls it out. But it you throw in the towel. And i don't think you i think you owed it to these guys that play there rob. I think i don't know. I'm not saying this is the case but you can risk losing your locker room with a move like that. I'm not so sure about that. I think they understand it and what it's exploded. You think hurts understood it. The guy's not gonna say anything that's a loss season that win or whatever it's better for the organization and it's not compromising the players. It's not asking hurts not to do this or that. That's the only thing you can have it two ways. If you found out that he told jalen hurts chris to play down or whatever. You can't do that would lose. I wouldn't have respect for coach like that. Who's telling the guy to two. Don't throw a touchdown throw a pick or we know what i may. Even play hurts though. I don't like this is not. Cyo rob this is not you know highs. Jv high school football where. Oh he's been you know. He's works hard and practice. Let me get him. Some you know run in the last game of the season no. And that is the sixers who needed to restart their franchise by gutting their roster. And they were all purpose. I what doug peterson. One of the worst coaches in the history of the nfl and masked by super bowl gives him a lot of cushion. Let me tell him. Imagine if he pulled the game out now listen. I'm all for six pick. Robbie so i get it you get number six. I know a and let me. Just say this. It was about art is anthony. I'm just going to say here's my three points. You're a the better better situation with the pick. Be instead of asking you not gonna ask players not to play hard or not to try to win so rather than do that. You put in lesser players. Who may be kicking done if they do right if they do. Then you tip your cap. And it is what it is. And the other part scooter giants. Why should the eagles look the giants scooter out of giants a day thinking about the giants but the giants as the cowboys. That's all beast man. 'cause i hate those efforts right so i hear you but all can decide what hurts pulls it out right. He's he'll feel great about himself right like you did neither him the opportunity anything he makes it close. He's gonna feel good about himself. What about offense of lying. What about the russel's players on defense. Who played their balls off on defense right and what. What's the message. Robby robby which matches you know what. I love the message. Remember that love him. Love is the message. Anthony law season. And all i'm saying is you don't want to hurt yourself in the draft order right you need players and the other part is if you stick it to the giants why nine why not using giant in that pope john saying but it's no. I'm not trying to help chris. I'm not saying that. They went out and their goal was to hurt the giants. But i don't need to help you and all the belly yet. To celebrate, we've pulled interviews from our archive with to musicians who played with him, Max Roach who invented a new style of drumming for the BEBOP era and Red Rodney, a young trumpeter who parker hired to replace. Miles. Davis will also hear from Alto, Saxophonist Jackie McLean who idolized Parker and would even loan his horn to Parker when Parker Saxophone was in hawk. Will hear their stories later in the show but let's kick things off with the tribute from our jazz critic, Whitehead who cost. Parker one of the most brilliant and influential jazz musicians ever and one of the most notorious for his use of heroin and alcohol leading to his death in nineteen fifty five at the age of thirty four. "Of the program Jason? Smith Rob Parker in for Dan and the Danettes today. Happy Fourth of July Eve. As, today is a huge day. Yes, Hamilton showed up today, which is very exciting, but today is a huge day in Major League Baseball as finally rob. We're going to get some pageantry. Some celebration players started reporting two camps on Wednesday took their corona virus deaths today. You have many different sports entities planning long coverage it. We're going to get interviews with players. We're going to see them working out and to actually see the players on the field and hear them talk about things like how. How they expect so when Soda Workout at shortstop this year or their bullpen is going to be so much fun. Yes, there will be a lot of covid nineteen talk, and clearly that's going to be the talk, but to get a little bit of sense of normalcy now I feel like we're like phase two of sports now where at least we've gotten a team sport back in. They're going to be on the field getting ready to try to play I'm with you I agree and. You know we're closer like three weeks away from opening day and the whole idea of trying to get some normalcy back in our live. Baseball's always been apart. Jason of trying times, and and we remember nine eleven. George Bush coming out on the mound at Yankee Stadium. Do you remember throw in that pitch in game three? And and people being able to settle back. Baseball's done that. Even in wartime, that's where the national anthem started getting played at baseball games as like a to to rally the troops and bring up the morale of the country so baseball being the sport coming back in this fashion. That's the way I look at it. It will be a return of some sort of normalcy. I not be different. Because won't be fans in the stands, but but people will be able to sit down in their living rooms have dinner or something and turn on the set and be able to go like okay. I'm watching my team. There's a ball game tonight. You got something to do for the next two or three hours and. And feel like life is somewhat returning back to some semblance of normalcy, so I'm excited I. Agree all the stuff coming out. All the conversations were starting to talk about the season. You've got to really really good teams in the dodgers and Yankees, who I picked before this whole thing happened. "You see why is a beat? The Texans trending at the top of twitter and I'm like Oh my God. What really did the Texans Sign Antonio Brown and I'm thinking to bill. O'Brien really do this I mean. That's the first thing Rob Parker that came to me was okay. Bill O'Brien has made so many horrendous traits. Did he really SIGN OFF ON GETTING ANTONIO? Brown and it turns out Chad. Chad Johnson put out a tweet saying ABC to the Texans with praying hands, and it kind of went from there. As Brown has been sending out videos making sure post videos every five minutes look I'm working out I'm at Russell Wilson's field. I'm here. I'm working with this quarterback all trying to get his way back into the national football league as if by putting stuff on social media. It's going to force people to sign him. It was really crazy last night. Yeah, those things are are. You know as Chad Johnson, is he? Is reporter now? You know how athletes loved like. Throw stuff out. They got a little information. You know sometimes where there's smoke. There's fire. They know something. They've had a conversation with somebody and would social media. They throw those things out so mild thing is. When it comes to AP like how long is this investigation by the NFL? This should be some sort of training. Camp is not that far away is he disqualified as he on the exempt list where he can't play. What is it enough already? You know there were allegations. Did they investigate it at some point, this guy still young enough and can still play. We saw he had a cup of coffee in a sweet roll with the. Patriots and that was a good look for a couple of games. We saw right. We know he can play. We know he's a playmaker. So I'm ready to have a ruling from the commissioner and let's let's do that. We're still waiting for a Robert Kraft. Bob Investigation wrapping up right on. I, don't remember that story out going away. Has that been? Has that been concluded? I'm just asking Jason. It's one of those things that Kinda was there and then. Hey, if it goes away, we can we can. We can just forget about it. I didn't forget about it Roger. Goodell and I'm going to keep talking about it until you address it. Okay. You always talk about protecting the shield. I want to know what happened down in Florida. I want details but I. do want to know of a B. is going to be available. If vailable and I'm a team that needs a wide receiver. We come on Jason this. IPAD six of the greatest seasons ever by a wide receiver. Would you admit that you? Of course he did? He's also been out of the game for awhile and can't last more than five minutes without finding his way out of town. That's the other side of the coin with Ab do. So let's figure things out. Let's head to the hotline bringing Fox. Sports Radio Sirius XM NFL insider Adam Kaplan. Adam, what's happening? Good morning, my friend good morning. Good to talk to you. "Hey everyone this is Kelly you with too broad stalking politics and I am on as usual with my co-host Sophie. Hey Sophie eight Kelly and we are joined today by Mariah Mariah Parker who is the county commissioner in district two of the Athens Clarke County Georgia. I'm Maria. Hey thanks for having me on the show yeah. Thanks so much for joining us so I think I have a lot of questions for you. But why don't we start in with just a little bit of background. Tells a little bit about yourself. Kevin how you came to be county commissioner in Athens Clarke County Georgia sure so I moved to Athens about six years ago I was looking for change kind of living at home with my parents and I had some friends who lived in Athens came to visit started sleeping on my friends. boyfriends couch got a job at a diner here there and never went back to Raleigh Kinda do but then later got involved in two ways in Athens. I became a graduate student at the University of Georgia where I said he thinks affects got my master's there and they also got involved in the music scene here. Athens listeners would know that folks like Aria Montreal and Neutral Milk Hotel or famously from here and so we have a very robust music scene and I hadn't really taken part in music before but you know it written wraps my whole life so I became a rapper sounds like a lot of community around that and it's important to the story of how I got involved in politics because it's both was like a political training ground for mm-hmm and how I met the candidate that got me into politics organizing hip hop shows and ran into gentleman by the name of Tommy Valentine. He's running county commissioner at the time and he got me thinking about the way that community organizing in a political sense very much like organizing the community around the arts and and music and the way those skill set so transferable and to my surprise you know I'm just like this rapper with no political experience. He asked the campaign eventually became field director than campaign director and then decide to run for office myself so that's a little bit about how I got involved in politics. It's your nothing and what was specifically interesting to you about the commissioner position. Well I saw an interesting moment in the political landscape landscape of Athens that I felt like someone really needed to step in to for one there are a number of candidates running on progressive platform for things like comprehensive civil rights and discrimination Legislation Marijuana Decriminalization for housing republic transportation things like this but there weren't enough of them if they were also elected for them to actually have the mandate behind the rail to get things done to have that majority they would need to vote these things into reality and so oh that's a scary part of working on a campaign. I believe a lot it but wasn't sure if it could pull off a lot of promises. You're making it the community so I know when they needed like a sixth player on the team in order to accomplish that at the time in addition in my district where I live there have been a gentleman who would throw it on the Commission for about twenty five years and had won uncontested largely for the majority of that time and he had stepped down to run for mayor and so a protege of his was running for at the again running uncontested so those two converging issues that I saw going on one democracy was not playing out in my district and two do we needed this progressive slate in order to accomplish any of the things that we were raising conversation in the community about and so why at the time was still learning a lot about what a commissioner isn't what commissioner does I felt empowered to like run for office one day for running this campaign and just uniquely opportunity for me to step in and give people an option even if I failed so that's why I went for it and I definitely got a crash course on county government since then so when you were sworn in as some of the pictures when a little bit viral you're in teen vogue and some other places in part you know you when you were sworn born in your sworn in a copy on a copy of the autobiography of Malcolm X. So talk a little bit about that and and what the you know I know a little bit about what the National Reaction Action was but what was the local reaction to us sort of being your authentic self even in the swearing in ceremony interesting question because at first it was hard for me to gauge what the genuine local reaction was given the way that the Internet operates and the way that folks from all all distant in corners of the globe can participate and compensation whether or not they have a dog in a fight or not and so two separate out a lot of patrolling that I was getting from Immuno Portland or Texas and Mississippi Frog abode ways that people are actually thinking and feeling here in Athens was a struggle for me because it was somewhat of a dealers but overwhelmingly I felt that the reception was really positive. People were really really hinging their hopes for a reaction to the trump administration I should and for really progressive for progressive change really like have a grassroots uprising here in Athens on this election and so so to see that one of their elected politicians was starting off with a really bold stance and unwilling to compromise it being themselves. I you think drew more hope and admiration than it did vitriol even though when you you know in the comments section and doesn't always quite Dr Phil. This was a special election. I think we know did end you you won by thirteen votes which is not a huge huge margin of victory obviously super impressive and you knew that every door you knocked was important when you win by thirteen votes a but you run again in twenty twenty and so how does that how does that does that affect your your thinking at all your campaign strategy at all knowing how razor thin margin was less time. How do you think about running again well. There's two ways to approach it. I feel like you could be very politically politically calculated and trying to make the most amount of like important people happy in order to safely secure reelection or as with a lot of things in life. You can treat it. Does you only have one chance and go for it and I believe in really going for it in terms of like really pushing hard for like progressive change now rather than letting and this very circuitous and labyrinths seen system work. Its way out the way it has to do with government. I prefer pushing hard now. Because I think that excites the people there might be some people who are more in favor of incremental change or you know in favor on the status quo and hesitant to see things change at all but do have a lot of power. Howard and fluency thing folks that are you know the most dependable voters but at the end of the day for me. It's not about getting reelected or not. It's about doing the right thing and so for me. It's like pushing to make sure we expand free bus access to more than this year we expanded it to disabled folks and senior citizens so we're also trying to push to get it three on election days and things like that trying to work out some of the kinks and problems we've had with marijuana decriminalization now rather than waiting for the Solicitor General to figure out how he's going to deal with legislation to me pass going ahead and pushing for a really comprehensive and oh discrimination legislation because right now hate crimes are legal Georgia or you know they're not adjudicated against as a separate crime so there's all these things that like we could wait to see what happens or we can do something about now and I I'm approaching my term and they got all but in terms of the field strategy edgy. I think that we build a really strong campaign. Last time I was very lucky to be able to plug some extra volunteers in some extra push into the campaign I had already built around around my friend who was running at the time and so a lot of folks are still hearing a lower more people who were then might have gotten inspired by the the Malcolm X. Situation and now see this as their opportunity to jump in and be a part of something exciting so we're gonna out there and knocking on doors relentlessly meet folks further out out in the community and we'll see what happens as with last time when I feel like I just have to get work done and the a lot of the work has already been done being elected all Sean people that are this possible so so I am a writer and I've thought about running for local office but it's kind of intimidating because I feel like a lot of the people who run for local office are either like lawyers lawyers or business owners and you're a creative person. I got really excited when I saw it. You know you also so I have a creative writing degree. You also have won a linguistics student in your musician in you. Talk a little bit about like sort of in the things that you bring to the job from your creative background yeah totally. I feel like I got my all my political training like in the hip hop community here in Athens I've never debate club as a kid I was never involved in political society groups but like I learned how to debate debate and like hold my ground and communicate my you know my confidence in myself my confidence in my community like defend myself through room rap battles like I was one of the only women battling around the time that the hip hop scene started to see a resurgence back about three years ago and that that spending up against folks constantly who were coming at me a about you know the way I talk and wait address this and that and being being able to respond gracefully and creatively and spontaneously in a moment to challenges that arise in front of you is like one of the greatest strengths of being a good leader being the politician. I definitely think I bring a lot of that like since of grounded nece and flexibility of thinking into the commission chambers with me every time I go there because it's a rap battle rap battle. Only folks don't think they know the rules but I plan by different set of rules and Lex like a come to win so I definitely think that is a blue. It's the way that I undertake public service and then being opponent creative native world especially the world like hip hop. You're intimately connected with stories of struggle. You here folks talking about the things that they've seen that things. They've had to do to to get by the things that are holding them back from even being successful in their art and you are. I think a lot of the lawyers and business folks that you're talking about. Forget about those stories they forget about those people and I feel like hip hop artist experiencing a lot of that art and being part of fostering community but it's like let's set up through like organizing in the music scene 'cause definitely in a form what issues. I think are important or on our most urgent and like help me keep a foot in that world to remember like the people who are genuinely affected by the change. We are debating implementing. Do you find yourself rapping at all in county commissioner meetings things I will occasionally take notes in like on my little legal pad in like verson meter for like man. It's my time to speak. I don't think I don't think I could happen here. It doesn't feel like the VIBE is wrong but like to process thoughts to prepare what I'm going to say. In response to something are like to channel some of that jury. I will definitely pin little APPs when I'm sitting in City Hall for sure so I have been impeached. He student didn't it didn't take and I've I've been around for so I've been around. PhD students a lot so you know perhaps a lot of people. The most surprising things about you running for office are that you're you're young and those sorts of things to me. The most surprising thing is that anyone can balance. Phd Studies running for office. I mean what how how how do you balance. How is that possible I I. It's a question I a lot and I honestly don't know how it works. It's working like I'm still working to the kings of like how to serve the public and Dan you know crap my lesson for Thursday do all my readings for Friday and like he my adviser off my back at the same time. It's something that I'm constantly learning and I think embracing that like everything is practice and everything is is teaching. You like how to be better if you frame. AM struggle or failure as system that you need to stop and reflect and show some compassion like recognize you humanity and like Chile Abed keeps me sane whether or not that keeps the quality of my Phd Work Up..

"Parker Ray was only twenty three but he had already abducted raped tortured and possibly even murdered at least ten women his methods of torment were graphic and ranged from the use of fish hooks to the use of electricity all intended to cause as much pain and suffering as possible by this point David had also been married and divorced twice he even had a son who he abandoned and yet despite his failed relationships and sadistic sexual practices David was not yet done with pursuing romance in the early months of Nineteen Sixty six David met Glenda Blenda Bernardine an eighteen year old girl who had a toddler named Ron Glenda was a quiet girl looking for someone to help raise her child and David was a tall twenty six year old man looking for a young lover the the couple dated for a short time then quickly married in a shotgun wedding on May second nineteen sixty seven David Glenda saw the birth of their first child together a baby girl they named Glenda Jean Ray for a few few short months David lived with his family wife son Stepson and newborn daughter but he bristled under the pressure of family lifestyle and soon abandoned his wife and kids as he had before by the the fall of nineteen sixty seven David became a drifter began moving from place to place all across New Mexico and Arizona as he traveled he would use his mechanic skills to perform odd jobs making enough to get by those who met him at the time <music>. I'm forty was charismatic and intelligent and none suspected his darker side as he traveled the road. Eventually he grew tired of the nomadic life in the fall of nineteen sixty nine. He moved back home to Albuquerque once there he began courting Glenda a second time and as far as we can tell his wife welcomed him back with open arms shortly after moving back Home David began taking courses in airplane repair mechanics he passed his courses with flying colors and became a certified aircraft mechanic with this new credibility he was also offered a job as an instructor in aircraft mechanics at the Spartan School of `aeronautics in Tulsa Oklahoma so in nineteen seventy he moved his family to Tulsa in public. David Parker Ray was a respected instructor and laid back father his children remember him rarely showing any signs of anger and he never lashed out at them however even while he treated his own children well he was still stalking the night snatching at least two women a year to fulfill his sadistic sexual fantasies his sick behaviors spike eighteen thousand nine hundred seventy three when he was thirty three years old throughout that year he kidnapped five different women two teenage sisters he picked up as they were hitchhiking. He tortured them for five days to he picked up at a bar before torturing them for a weekend. The fifth woman he abducted was a thirty year old mother who happened to have her infant son with her when she hitched a ride with David Parker Ray he took the woman and her son to a location labeled e b the tent each side many investigators suspect this cryptic label stands for the east side of Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico. This was likely the first or second time ray had taken someone to the location that would later you become as primary hunting and disposal grounds in his notes. He describes the infant boy as a pain but he states that Momma wasn't bad he likely killed this woman and her child then dumped their bodies in the lake. Elephant Butte Lake is particularly well suited to hiding bodies has the shore recedes into the lake. The bottom drops off steeply at its deepest the Lakers one hundred fifty seven mm feet deep and the bottom of the lake is filled with silt that swallows any solid object unlucky enough to reach the bottom David had been so meticulous in covering up his crimes that police had never even suspected him of partaking in any any criminal activity but even if they had been looking for the victims at Elephant Butte Lake the search would have been nearly impossible. David was aware of the benefits of disposing of a body in this lake and it's reasonable to suspect that this drew him back to Elephant Butte Lake time and again through the rest of the nineteen seventies. David moved his family to Victoria Texas where he ran a gas station then moved his family back to Albuquerque where he got a job working for the railroad during all this time his killings never stopped as he maintained his usual pace of killing at least two girls a year he also spent this period of time forming a particularly close bond bond with his daughter Glenda junior who had taken to calling herself Jesse in order to distinguish herself from her mother from a very young age Jesse knew about her father's vile sexual activities he had normalized sadistic mystic sexual practices by exposing her to violent sexual images at a young age much like his father had done to him and he also made no effort to hide his victims from his daughter but as she was just a child at the time time she had no way of knowing that his actions were wrong and gruesome his violence did not stand between their relationship while David was growing closer to his daughter he was growing further apart from his wife Glenda for unknown reasons Zain's David and Glenda divorced in nineteen eighty one when David was forty-one by Nineteen eighty-two David had moved to Phoenix Arizona he got a job at an up and coming autoshop working under a man named billy stone alongside nine business partner Billy Ray bowers billy recognized David skill and with both men working together the business started to grow quite large David was making more money than he ever had before and he decided to spend that money on a second can home in one thousand nine hundred three forty three year old David least plot of land in truth or consequences and began spending most of his time in Phoenix and his weekends near Elephant Butte Lake around that same time David began making connections within the underground Bedia Sem Community in Phoenix through that community he met a woman named Jonny Lee with this relationship David had found himself more of a match Joni. Lee was also into the same same kind of be d._S._M.. And kinky sex as David in a very similar pattern to his previous relationships he and Joanie Lee got married making this David's fourth marriage while we don't know if Joni Lee participated in David's kidnappings her relative comfort with his sexual fetishes allowed him the freedom to begin designing and constructing his own bondage and sexual torture devices on his property David would likely experiment met with these devices on his wife consensually and use her responses to inform his designs he stored many of these devices in his home near Elephant Butte Lake and she thought there was nothing strange about it while Joni Lee may or may not have known about David's criminal activities his daughter Jessie knew all about his crimes by the time she was nineteen in nineteen eighty six she had personally taken part in some of his darker exploits flights because she had been raised by David Parker Ray Jesse believed that his sexual fetishes and criminal behaviour were rather normal. She knew that what he did was illegal but she believed that nothing was particularly wrong with it while her lack lack of awareness may seem baffling this particular mental phenomenon is not especially rare. It has long been noted that bad behavior is often learned and reinforced by our peers and even more so by our parents Kevin Seven P conway a doctor of Behavioral Health Science and Joan mccord a doctor of criminology published a study in a scientific journal titled Aggressive Behavior. This study found that nonviolent offenders are more likely to commit commit violent crimes if they do so with another person who had committed violent crimes before the study also found that non violent offenders who are introduced violence through an accomplice are far more likely to commit acts of violence in the future than those non violent criminals who are not introduced to violence by their peers Jesse had been introduced to violence at a very young age so her participation in her father's crimes was bound to escalate with time. When Jesse was comfortable with their fathers crimes she still butted heads with him from time to time one day in one thousand nine hundred six? She and David got into a massive fight. We don't know what caused the fight but we do know that in in June of one thousand nine hundred eighty six Jesse had become so infuriated with her father that she decided she would get him sent to prison. Purely out of spite Jesse got in touch with the F. B. I. Office in Albuquerque she told the F._B._i.. Hi All about her father over the phone. She spoke for quite a long time about David's fetishes. She told them all about how David had regularly abducted dozens of women and brought them to secluded areas for days on end. She then told them that once David was through with his victims he would either kill them or transport them south of the border to Mexico where he would sell them into sexual slavery naturally the F. B.. I. Agents were stunned to hear what Jesse she had to say. They were confident they had a solid lead and in nineteen eighty six for the first time David Parker Ray was going to come under the scrutiny of the law. Unfortunately David Parker Ray would not be discovered as a criminal until nineteen ninety.

"Parker. Welcome into Tuesday, the twenty third day of April joined now by San Antonio. I news national correspondent bills Infor. You may recall it wasn't that long ago February to be exact president of the United States met with North Korean leader, Kim Jong UN in Vietnam broke down due to disagreement over ridding North Korea its nuclear arsenal. And last Wednesday. Of course, North Korea said they test fired a tactical guided weapon more on that coming up right now Bill like to talk to you about the fact these reports that Kim's going to sit down with the president of Russia. Well, more than reports. Now, Charlie there is confirmation from both the Kremlin and from North Korea's state news agency that there will be a meeting between bladder. Amir Putin and Kim Jong on they say soon, I'm saying very soon as early as tomorrow in bladder Vostok, Kim Jong UN reportedly ready to get on board that armored. Train and make the four hundred twenty-five mile trip from John Yang up to flat Avaz stock as Vladimir Putin makes his way to the belt road for them in Beijing this weekend, he will stop and bladder Bostock and sit down with Kim Jong on in a meeting that has to be a little bit unnerving on the White House. Of course, Kim Jong UN is trying to get Russia on his side of the court when it comes to pushing for at least partial sanctions relief while Vladimir Putin. Well, he is looking to insert himself in the game here with North Korea and has always shown that propensity to get involved with countries that may have fraying relationships with the United States like Syria, Iran, then as Waylon and now possibly North Korea. And I'm top of that North Korea likes Russia's Christie supplies. They like to get them to invest to in their industrial plants, railways, some other infrastructure and on the other side of that Russia anticipated in gaining access to mineral. Resources. Absolutely. There are a lot of projects that they went to work together on of course, they share a short border there. And they're also about eight thousand it's estimated and this could be a low number eight thousand migrant workers who come from North Korea into Russia to work every day. So, you know, Russia wants to be able to maintain that as well. And so does North Korea because a lot of that money, of course, comes back to that country. A lot of projects that could be held up by sanctions right now. So there is an economic benefit between the two as well. But you have to wonder Charlie is a little bit of best buddy competition going to happen here as Kim Jong UN sits down with Vladimir Putin. Maybe a little horseback ride in a Russian countryside involving the two leaders as President Trump watches from afar with this possibly expedite a third summit between the president and Kim. I don't know because this'll be interesting to watch will President Trump get involved here. And have a statement to say about this. If these two leaders released a statement saying that there should be partial sanctions relief for North Korea. That's going to be the main push by North Korea in this meeting Willett prompt another one, you know, I'm not sure we have had North Korea being critical of the US on several fronts here, including the demand that Mike Pompeo be replaced by the United States in any future negotiations. Not sure if that's going to happen. I wouldn't put money on that one. Appreciate the update. San antonio. I news national correspondent bills in for put down the phone head to WalMart and get yourself. One of those old clock radios. Tell you why coming up and true, Texas style big bibs barbecue slow cooked up the fourteen hours every day aged oak, and mosquito woods that time consuming process gives the meat that pink tinge. It's called a smoke ring and a very huge prized attribute and barbecued.

"In the WNBA and Candace Parker joins us on the sports media podcast, Kansas. Thanks for taking the time today. Thanks for having me. You got. All right. So I want to start here. You're still playing you still one of the. I women's basketball players in the world. So why is this the right time to pursue broadcasting on what is basically a full-time basis outside of your playing career? Fortunately, you know, for the WNBA it's in the summer and you know, they look at that as our main season, but our main season is overseas. You know, I played ten years overseas. I've played in Russia. I've played in China played in Turkey and at this point in time when I was looking at the off-season, anybody that knows me knows my daughter comes first and every year since she's been born. I've had to up route her, you know, in some way, shape or form and take her to a foreign country. And this year it just, you know, it's about her, and I felt that at this point in my career, I'm able to make this choice to kind of transition into what I wanna do after you know the ball stops bouncing Georgia's Leyla. Is that right? I lay, yeah, nine years old. Her passport. Must be incredible given Bishop. She's had quite a few stamps in her passport quite a few visas. You know her first her first preschool was Russia was in Russia and. He learned the language pretty well. So it was very unique to see a, you know, a black kid speaking Russian. It's great world traveler at nine years old. All right. So if you can wh in terms of your Turner schedule, give us roughly what the schedule is from the start of October to win. You would theoretically go to WNBA training camp. Well, with Turner, I signed, you know, through two thousand nineteen. And you know, I'm very excited to be a part of this because last year I came on you, I came on after all star break and was able to cover some March men is. But this time I'm going gonna start, you know this, this coming weekend, you know, every Sunday and Monday. I'll be in studio with NBA.
