Scattered about the city of paris are treasures of the world that inspire us and teach us about history and culture and ourselves including the paris sewer museum. But now there's no is not some sort of sterile white walled building with photos of your days. Shitter holes no now. This museum is the sewer. It's actually in the sewer sewer museum about sewers. And in the sewer. Do they have ninja turtle display because that would be awesome and your tour guide is splinter of course. It is some more specifically. The museum is in the sewers beneath the key. Dorsey on the left bank. And around the year twelve hundred. The first drains were built in the streets of paris. The streets have been paved and in thirteen seventy. The i covered sewer was built which ran into a stream in the city Before then the population would take the water directly from the river seine and once they had used it in whatever way they were using at They would throw it onto the unpaved of paris or whatever and much of it would run back into the seine. We've discussed how Sewage treatment back in the day was not great. That's when they had sewage-treatment oftentimes sewage treatment in those days was defined as just dumping it in the street. Yeah that's what i meant. That was their sewage treatment. It was just my butts done with this. Now it's yours. To behold during the first french empire covered sewage system was developed covering an area of eighteen miles in eighteen. Seventy eight a double water distribution network and a sewage system over three hundred. Seventy two miles long was introduced because it had been discovered that the filthy water that was released into the city center was causing illness in plague and therefore Gutters were placed in the streets as well as water pumps and other essential requirements which transformed the sewage system into a modern structure. So organiz tars of the sewers. Where i offered in eighteen eighty nine tours were available twice. Monthly and visitors were transported through the sewers on boats and wagons these days after going down the stairs from the ground ticket office. You enter a long gallery. The key dorsey that runs parallel to the seine. The museum details the history of the sewers and the role of sewer workers and methods of water treatment and such now. This museum does not smell great. All i wouldn't imagine it. It did now. it's under the city. It's humid everything is a little damp all the time. It's been soaked in feces for over a millennia right. So it's not. It's not doing great as far as a flu via you'll see pipes. Of course there's a flushing machine. That's used to clean the sewers which is like a really big toilet tank and flush valve which is funny to think of on a large scale and there's also a five ton flushing boat which ran through the main sewer line. In the days of your. You'll also pass a large basin that traps solid material from the wastewater. It says on the museum website that the sewers recover more than fifteen thousand cubic meters of. What's called grit. Okay so this sewer system is still in use. Yes parts of it. Oh my god right and people pay to go. Yup see it. Yeah sewer maintenance equipment from past and present including these huge wooden balls that are used to clean the tunnels so they're just ever so slightly smaller than the width of tunnel and they just jam through kind of like cleaning the the sides of your intestine. It's like sewer fiber. Wow yeah shaven the plaque off the inside of your heart artery that has got to be one sought after profession. There are mannequins of sewer workers in their underground gears. So you can see like what the history of sewer worker uniforms look like which is kinda cool and there's also a self directed video that you can watch talks about how There are watchmen. Who used to help you. If you dropped something in the sewer so like fancy parisian ladies could call and be like monsieur drama pepper hook in this deal and then they would go along my apologies to those of you. Who are french. listen don't apologize for me. That was great. That was a spot on french. Accent no was very peppy lip. You disagree anyway. So they have sewer boats they should turn it into a fluid ride. Bring your poncho. The museum is currently closed for renovations. They're making it more accessible. For people you renovate.

A. B. C. that's one eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two Liberace would you like to hear more about the study of poo no that's quite alright no no no no there are specialists in that field you know I could imagine her metallic just they are investigators like I'm a pool fight anyway let's go to bill in New Jersey welcome to Curtis and Jett said surely Advil your current I lived in shortly and Denison Iowa I made a big mistake going to a slaughter house out there it was the most disgusting despicable smells would choke you can't even breathe and you know there are just went when animals are slaughtered obviously there's a lot of blood now we have a state report chopper every error or anything like that we call it it's so delicious it's nice and juicy that is a mixture of fact and blood yeah we know I know I tell my husband all the time he eats every single morsel including the fact that it is March my I. ABC but let's talk about the governor who wants to be president enjoy allies home I don't think there's any doubt about it in fact he just told us that not only is New York state not opening up but he has warned states not to open up too soon also to like Cuomo you the governor in New York why you warning other states not to open up too soon yeah I mean he didn't exactly do the greatest job here despite what the this sick of fans in certain media and you know certain certain areas say he really he really botched the job well we had the worst problem so you have to assume that you got to take some of the responsibility for that and then there's Murphy you know the shelter the guy hollows you heard the top of the news he said the lockdown will stay in effect for another thirty days until June six he said it with three hundred and twenty five dead just yesterday that's a total of eight thousand five hundred jerseys had the second worst death toll and this leads us right into the subject matter that we have prioritized and many people have appreciated a Jed said sure it's March twenty sixth since your birthday that was the day that we began talking calling out Cuomo and Murphy for their bed mishandling if you could time beat that's at that that's the nice thing you can say about it of the nursing home situation and it's been a total team effort the boys in the morning bernama Kirk said Rosenberg they had on today Michael good when it was done a really great job in writing piece after piece slamming Cuomo his health cares are who they called doctor death sucker for chance the callousness and indifference in different senestech pay haven't shown right yeah towards the elderly well the other thing is though and and Michael Goodwin brings this up in his in his op ed well no never seems to have an answer when he's asked about details of his nursing home policies and in fact he actually gives misinformation like when he was asked about on workers being sent back and he's like no you could the person could say no you don't you don't have to commend that workers but up with infected people he he has no idea what his policies well that's right now he got caught again yesterday on the nursing home situation when he was asked why nursing homes we're not dealt with properly everywhere you look at the nursing home deaths warmer steps taken earlier to protect such a vulnerable population I don't know we did some very harsh things here that frankly I wasn't even comfortable with but the health service experts insisted if there's anything else we can learn from and do we will do you have people get sick in the nursing home sometimes they transported to a hospital that's up to the experts in the nursing home if that's helpful once a person is better the person has to go somewhere they don't have to go back to the nursing home by the way if the nursing home says I can't provide care for this person then the nursing home must transferred the resident we have covert facility hoping only facilities for that can take people from nursing homes the nursing home has to make the decision at the nursing home doesn't think they can take them they shouldn't I know they have to do is say no and tell the department of health and that person will go somewhere else wrong on March twenty fifth the data before we started talking about this an order came down from the state it came as a surprise to the nursing homes it is still in effect it has not been changed words have not been altered at the fifth paragraph and essentially says no person shall be denied admission or readmission based solely on a confirmed or suspected corona virus diagnosis to a nursing home so you have to take them get talking about and yet yesterday he still doesn't know well I think he does you have to understand something about Andrew Cuomo I've known him for many years he is extraordinarily anal in many respects she's like Rudy Giuliani when he ran the city Rudy had his fingers into every price Bloomberg didn't Bloomberg just assigned his deputy mayors and commissioners saying she just wanted to know basic details as you know trump he doesn't have his fingers in everyone's pie but Giuliani and Andrew Cuomo every meticulous detail he's known this so and ever since he's had blowback and criticism now about ten days ago you better believe it got up to speed on it but he's increasingly acting as it is his right to do this don't question him and remember it for the first time I heard him say that they have facilities that only accept meaning all writers have facility he should really explain it a nursing home or long term senior citizen facility we have a facility that accepts only coronavirus patients if that is true I'd like to know yeah we which facility say are never heard that but the other thing was he mentioned we did some harsh things that you know frankly I didn't agree with what is so what is he saying is he now taught is is he referring to sending people back in what harsh things it sounds like a Michael Goodwin I brought this up so I will admit that I'm sort of hijacking him it sounds like he's trying to create a case of plausible deniability I I didn't know if I didn't know when I get in trouble so he started off the discussion over ten days ago is he known he turned it over to who everyone now refers to as doctor death his set healthcare commissioner who I told you was the basis for Doogie Howser superstar a guy came out of the Bronx shocker he was M. D. at twenty two he was a boy genius and yet he is made decisions here on behalf of the governor that a mind blowing remember this station number one that had to be rescinded if you operate an ambulance well whether it's volunteer whether it's F. D. N. Y. whether it's attached to a hospital you would not resuscitate somebody who basically had a heart attack right and would be dead without resuscitation orders not to resuscitate everybody said anything why why and then finally they had to be rescinded then you call him jetset Juliet pulled the governor and shocker in forcing doctors and nurses who were diagnosed as being positive for corona virus they were forcing them to go into the nursing homes have worked there that is when we send it the one order that has not been rescinded from March twenty fifth is the order that you must accept corona virus patients if you want a nursing home in the state in New York and despite what he said yesterday this is now midnight early may despite what he said no you can not say we can't accept this person you can't say that they that this this March twenty fifth order has not been altered in any way and the owners of the workers that are at these facilities are basically calling this a death sentence you know I don't again I don't know where he gets a well we won't send one person in there one worker in there he said this a few weeks ago because one worker could mean the death you know or what are you talking about that you're sending a bunch of people who are infected back in there it's the house that makes each of us has totally alienated bernama Kirk and **** Rosen brown bird mark Levin at night with this national show yours truly obviously jetset Juliet and people who one not apparatchiks wishing one even his supporters have said why do you continue with this man is.
