"Me out and practicing? Let's go ahead, son. And by the time Viktor moan had finished singing, Perry Como said, man, you ought to be performing here at the paramount theater. You really are that good kid. And that was an inspiration for him to continue. Then he met Maury Amsterdam, but you know he used to comedian actors. Certainly like villian actor on the Dick Van Dyke show, you know, what was that White Plains? I think it was, was just aware. Him and his wife, they had separate beds, you know, you never had she had the same bed back then. And he said to victim on whose name was veto Rocco farano. He had to do some with their name kid or you ain't going nowhere. And he goes. Wow. That's quite an aim. He was still no on Italian. So it's not like I completely truncated it. And was always proud to be badass. Oh, God. I mean, we could do hours to this. Everybody who came out of Brooklyn, you see what Tony Orlando and dawn has started here with his brother. So good. To remember and as Sammy pointed out a very handsome man, I mean, the women, they were like throwing their panties at him when he was performing on the stage, getting off their playtex broads throwing it up on the stage. And Diana Carolina now remember, this is the 50s, right? Married to a black woman. From Brooklyn. It's from. And you just, you didn't go into bath beach with a black woman. You just, you didn't do that. It's hard enough for me. When I got married, the first time and that was 73, man. That was like, couldn't go to canarsie anymore. And unfortunately, I was stuck in Brownsville, I think those guys wanted to give me a beat down. Lashed it all in one year. She met Joe. She meant you Kobe, I met Maya's and we went on separate ways, but what a great entertainer. What a great entertainer

I'm saying to myself, hold on a second though, Tony Orlando is one. One great thing I'm missing, I remember my mother would play three singles. Three singers in the house, not Frank Sinatra, 19 Martin. Although occasionally Dean Martin's version of hollow. Not Bobby Ray del, Dean Martin's version of hilarious. She would play. But she loved Perry Como on the sweater. That was your favorite. Number two, Jerry Vale, but he was from The Bronx, Perry Como was from Pennsylvania. And then her other favorite was someone who met Perry Cuomo when he was an usher at the paramount theater. Because he had to leave school early, father had been injured. He had to go work as an usher at the paramount theater. And he convinced Perry Como that he was taking upstairs to please. Please miss Tacoma. I followed your career. I really loved the way you sing. You got great punch. Could you please just, I'm gonna sing you a song. Could you chill and Perry Cuomo very nice man? Yeah, I'll listen to you. And when he heard this man sing, he said, oh, man. This is talent on loan from you know who JC or high chefs. Who am I talking about, ladies and gentlemen, and he came from Brooklyn. One 808 four 8 9 two two two 808 four 8 WABC. I mean, who would have a calling card like this printed in the first place? Right. This is a woman with some panache. Right. This is a woman who flies airplanes. This is somebody who lives her own life to the fullest. She tried marriage. It didn't work, and now she's doing her own thing. And who was the recipient? Uh huh. Yeah. Was it a man? Was it a woman? Good question. Could have been anybody. Or maybe it was just an agent. Maybe it's just a business card. Maybe it was just somebody who maybe she's in the film and she wanted to do something to see her latest picture. Oh, I'm just thinking that maybe some of you want to fill in the blanks here for us. And which is like the mayor allegedly maryland but no one really knows marilyn monroe set it but the beginning of that code is like. I'm selfish crazy and insecure. Or something you know what i mean. And then she's like allegedly she said it. I just think it's so funny. That people quote marilyn monroe. She's there's a whole thing about it that like you're quoting i mean listen. She didn't make the best decisions in the world. Choose drug addict and sheet affairs of married. Man i mean listen. I'm people are being a good person. To being a actor dot like synonymous. What am i trying to say like it. Doesn't you'll be the person to be a drug addict. but like that. So you emulate horse and like. There's nobody wonderful. We have come back from checkered past. And are like inspirational people but people have marilyn monroe is like their role model. They have like the art of the wall. It cracks me up. I've always found it so funny. This is your this. Is your girl a hundred your hero. Yeah it's not listen it's not choosing to emulate emilia's i just always think that's very funny hand up like someone wrote. She was like she said that quote. she like. If you can't handle me my worse you don't deserve me my best. And she wrote semi all our absolute monsters. I know literally how date half of the people that i know but anyway we. We missed that one last week. But if you guys didn't listen go back because there's a lot of a lot of good stuff in there and then this week we have an incredible gas. She's dominatrix. i didn't tell you that. I went home after the episode and i made cain where a sleep mask and i blew him and he tried a combating his hand and then i made his hands behind his own back. Why didn't tell me that until now. Tell me intro i. So here's the thing. I initially heard the on my way over here to record the episode with you. I was talking to him and his dominators on show today. And would you ever be interested in anything like that on episode this but she does a really great job talking about how to lead into things dominatrix. You'd think extremes so a lot of episode has had a lead ended the staff. And so i let him into some stuff. I blindfolded him in sectors decker. When like that bright okay. So that's yeah if you are listening to this episode like no. I'm not interested in dominated man. Nor do i want to be a sub. Just hear her out. Because it's not as hard core as you think. And i loved the episode because that's kind of the theme of all this stuff we're all kind of want to do it on some level. Not all us. But i'm saying like it doesn't have to be you don't have to be pegguy. Piss on his face. Yeah she was like some of the stuff can take years to build up to do that day one but yeah i went home and did i was just very turned on by her in general so you guys are going to learn a lot and nothing else. You can master voice. I would speaking of guys. This was labor day weekend. This past weekend i was gonna come over here. Just this is just made me laugh so hard. So ashley of like. I know everyone and i know everything about them. I'm the action everything's building. It's crazy. We're taking over this whole building so many apartments in this building. I knew my wife. I'd connects to four separate wife is in this building now yours. Bob's there's a million shut the roof. I'm trying to come over and we were being hesitant. So anyways he started with the necessary thing to start with he said there is a hawkeye on the roof of the dog. Actually is the guy who lives there and used to be hopping gain weight recently and he is a medium sized white husky mix so many details he got 'em so i'm good tone is not whatever reading it whenever tony one tone is just like mom good because i know who you're talking about like actually either i give you a little story. I never walk into the building without seeing a hawkeye till about it. And she's like he's gary girlfriend or whatever she does everybody. Because if so. I'm good to rob says no. So we for our shows we will announce us as as they happen but for the upcoming shows in charlotte atlanta and charleston. You will need to present proof of vaccination or proof of a negative. Kobe tests within the prior. Seventy two hours. This is on ticketmaster site. It's on our say. A rapid test is find. Someone asked a yeah just like proof that you have been baxter. Your covert free This was actually charleston music halls their requirement and we were like well that should be the requirement for us. We want to keep people safe as possible. We know nothing is one hundred percent. You could roll up in their backs. Could break through case you know you could. You could have a negative testing and gone. Covert on the way to the show like we know that is no nothing. That's one hundred percent with his virus. But we want to try to be a safe as we. Are you guys know where team backs. Obviously so raleigh masks are going to be required for entry. They have a mask mandate where not certain. What's exactly being enforced inside the venue but bring your mask no matter what. Bring your mass. No matter what anywhere probably. I don't think a lot of the venues. You're going to be mask on the show but again these the stuff changes all the time. Honestly my my take on it. It's like we're just lucky to be able to do it. We're lucky to be able to do it at full capacity. So that's where i stand like. We'll do whatever you know what i mean if we have to look out to a bunch of people in masks as long as we're out we're having fun we're going to be laughing hopeless not the case but we do want guys faxed or covert free and if you need to get a refund you can contact your point of purchase but hopefully it won't be a big deal and i don't really know many places that you can't get test results back within seventy two hours so i mean. There's kobe testing the airport right. I i saw the pittsburgh airport right by the atlanta airport. There's tons of places and your rabbit testifying guys. It shouldn't be an issue in those cities as far as i know. If you're having an issue you know what there but we have. Our priorities are safety. Yes yes that. That's them's the rules..

Eisenberg our final story teller when I asked him who were what would you like to come back? As and? And why? He said, as my I'd like to come back is my dogs. He said, because They are pampered. They get to sleep in bed with two hot guys every night, please welcome John Lincoln. I'm sitting at the front desk of the Wilderness Road in High on a hilltop overlooking Cumberland Gap, Tennessee It's an old hotel. It's way past its prime, and it's way off the main highway that winds its way through the valley below. I'm 16 and I've got a job. My first job. I'm the overnight desk clerk at the Wilderness Road in From 11 at night till seven. In the morning. I check guests in and out and get to be helpful. Get him extra towels. Little bars of so from work, the old fashioned switchboards. You know, the kind that Lily Tomlin's character earnestine uses with the cables? Yeah, yeah, it's great. I love my job and It's sort of helping me adjust to the culture shock that my family's been experiencing because we're Midwest non alarmist Lutherans. We moved from Iowa. The place I call the land of beige food. To the hills of Tennessee. So it's the end of summer. It's the end of tourist season. It's just after midnight, and it's been a busy night at the Wilderness Road in and Finally get a chance to take a little bit of a break, and I'm watching TV in through the door, walked these two scruffy looking guys. The first guy says, Hey, we need a room. And I Get up to wait on him. He says. No, I'm just kidding. This is a robbery. Don't make any false moves and no one will get hurt. Yeah. It might have caught me off guard, so I kind of laughed and I said, Yeah, right. And he says, no, I'm real serious. Any flops this gun out of his waistband and I see the gun and I think Who A gun. Robbery. What do we do in a robbery? I don't know what the manager told me. Be calm. Get him the money and get him out the door as fast as you can. Okay, so I turned to the cash register and I opened it up and I start taking the money out. And there's quite a bit of money because it's been a busy night of the wilderness Road in and Realized I've got all this cash in my hand and I don't have anything to put it in. What kind of look over at him. Apparently, he's forgotten to bring a bag. So I say. Sure. Would you like a bag? He says. Well, yeah, that would be real nice. So I get him a bag and I put the money in it and I set it up on the counter real quickly because I'm trying to move things along here and I'm thinking we're almost done and he says If you've got a safe And I say what? Yes, we do have a safe Let me show you the safe. So I take him over to this flimsy file cabinet safe we've got and he kind of looks at it, and he says he wants to pry it open. And I look at him. Apparently, he hasn't brought a screwdriver. So I get him a screwdriver. Handed to him and he starts prying the safe open and seems to be taking forever and Finally he gets it open. He gets the money out. And I'm thinking, OK, we're just about done here and he says, you know, I'm gonna have to tie you up. And I think Well, that makes sense. It is a robbery..

"You're listening to a live story telling event held at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas. Your host is oh, Vera Eisenberg. Next storyteller. When I ask the questions of who we would like, who or what would you like to come back? As she said Molly Ivins? Yes. And she said, she's the only hero I've ever known. He's working the stage Sarah Birds Molly. I still miss her, don't you? Okay. The thing is that I always like to tell people that I came to Austin for graduate school. But that's a lie. The truth is that I moved here for love. The object of my mad obsession was a guy I was living with in Albuquerque, who made me laugh until I went my pants and was hotter than lava in bed. I don't know if all this hotness and hilarity was because I was so crazy in love with him are because of the crazy amounts of cheap weed that we smoked. Whatever it Woz when he told me that he had to move to Austin to take some courses. I could not pack fast enough. In Austin. We set up a sweet little love nest and he went off and got deeply scarily immersed in these courses he was taking. I was alone. I didn't know a single person in Austin, Texas, I got a little clingy and lonely. And I realized that what I needed to sort of stop this slide of loser Hood was a job and like, Ah, good job, not one of the crap jobs that I'd always had working my way through college, so I held out For that really good job. And finally, the perfect job came along temporary archivists technician at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library. This was it. I could just see myself cataloging secret correspondence from coaching men and and never before seen briefs about civil rights initiatives. I had to get this job. Motivated by love. I rushed in and with a canny combination of lying and making it up. I Got that job. You.
