"Mayor has anything. Shut him down. They did it with Bosa. They did it with Ford. They did it with George. They did it with used check. They do it with everybody. That's practice. The game is different, but I still think in light of how we even got here to play this game. In light of all the hell they've all been living through, and we continue to if there's any question at all. It's just no and well, there's gonna be more games to play and watch available for the long haul. A couple good segments for your foreplay. We get to the four pieces of sound you need to know to be a contributing member of society. And then your 40. Niners fixed well behind enemy lines with Cliff Kingsbury, who was on call this morning the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals to do that at about 1/15, so let's get it going. Time for some foreplay with Papa Henry. Four chunks of audio that really get you going. I have a gift and I tried to not be selfish about it, but to use it. On KNBR 1045683 Sports leader. All right. We got into a conversation about how people are feeling about Gabe Kapler. Get the text line opened by the way hit us up. Obviously when they were eight, and 16 was stupid, and now that they've been 14 and five, the last 19. He's the smartest man alive. So Gabe Kapler was asked after the game if he's been able to kind of enjoy the recent success after taking heat early on, personally, I'm certainly enjoying it. I feel happy for our players when when they perform well, I really like to try and put them in the best possible positions to succeed. And at the same time I stay. I tend to stay even is not necessarily about positivity or or anything like that. It's much more about I understand that they're gonna be up. I understand that they're going to be downs and and I just feel like just like our hitters. They're gonna be focused on the process, not the result in and on the outcome In order for me to be a good leader. I have to do the same. So I try to keep that in mind all the time. I think it's interesting. He phrased it like that, because fans or the exact opposite. It's you could. You could have completely flawed logic and everything could be screwed up. But if the end result works that nobody thinks you're a genius. If it doesn't work, then everything's your dope and this is how it works. Yeah, That's the simple way to look at it. It's you know, there's a whole process here to prepare the players to play in. A lot of it was sloppy defense, and he was honest about them hitting tennis balls on the infield. There doing different things. They're much better defensively, obviously, after with a 21 Ares the 1st 18 games Since then, they've been much better. The Volt fan. I think we judge a manager by the bullpen and both. She was so great at it. About a lot of it is the performance of the pen. Both She was not nearly as good in 16 at us as he was earlier because these guys didn't get outs and I just all of it. So I I've been impressed with him in every regard. The one thing I don't know is how touchy feely I think he manages the game. Well, he handles himself well, he has a thought at the highest level on why they do everything. Nothing is Jessica Hunt Year. Hey, it's all predetermined his mind and it's based on a lot of things. It's not all analytics. A lot of it's based on, you know, just guys and how they feel. But when you hear stories about him growing a Logan Web in the second in England Logan Web is a walk in the yard and saying You're pitching through the fifth inning and maybe the six so get it together and he did. And when he tells Alex Dickerson, I think your swing is getting better, like right before the deadline is coming up, and the GM is telling everybody I need a left handed hitter. All of a sudden, Dickerson locked in and got better so we don't We can't feel him because there and the writers don't and I think a lot of the pushback was. He's not going to tell us the starting pitcher until right before the game. Come on, hey, settled into a rotation. Now they're just a little bit different, and he's following Vocci. So I thought based on the firm when they were 18 16, I doubt they're going to run this guy out of town. Not even get a chance to manage. So now that he's having success, our people warming to Gabe Kapler, because by and large they everybody was lining up and they they wanted to persecute the gay. Yeah, It's a results oriented business just like most, and it's really easy and sports. There's a winner and a loser every single night. So I think with him regardless of as he pointed it out, he's thinking long term. He's thinking Here's the process. Here's how we do it, regardless of wins and losses, But the but fans act in the exact opposite fashion. Especially when you're losing so the pitching or the sloppiness of the heirs. It all comes back to him when they win, Then you know, you probably get too much credit. I mean, that's what it was that kind of crap..

"After Columbus. I don't know how I was gonna happen. I don't know if we should do it. Buster opted out a lot of the stars of the game Baseball looks like and we don't want to jinx. Um but there three weeks away, and if they can finish up the regular season, would they go into a double bubble? So what? This is a lesson to us all is If you're diligent about your behavior, and you take it seriously and respect other people, and you're not gonna have the volume of testing. The athletes have been in the league staff because they have so much money. I'd have enough testing to test people that need to be tested. We could have handled this situation as a nation. So much better, like other nations did. And I maybe we were just with all we're all Americans are not gonna keep baseball players locked up. Well, for a little while there there was some outbreaks. Who knows why it happened. But you got to say John Baseball pulled its act together. And they're three weeks away from heading the finish line of the regular season. Then the big money rolls in and they'll go, maybe double bubble, but I Baseball did it. I will see what football does and you know basketball on any show in a different way, but baseball's so far. Although it was really bumpy for a while there It looks like they're going to pull this off. And look, the first weekend really was the scariest one. I think what really happened? I could be wrong. But the examples that had been set think this is why the NFL has a chance to is. I think everybody has realized that look if you break protocol Something could really happen and then, especially with NFL players, because they're getting full boat right now, So for them where some of the baseball players were probably frustrated, someone you know, obviously they they opted out. But You know, as long as everybody can play by the rules, and they could potentially do this thing. You're going to get paid your full amount of money into me. That's always the motivation. I want to get a full boat. I want to get all my money. I don't want somebody screwing up and it seems like at least from a 40 Niners perspective. I don't know how mature all the other teams are across the Across the NFL, but you know they've got something to play for here, and they seem like they're holding everybody accountable. We've got enough veterans on the team. Hopefully, the NFL is like that, because let's be honest, Something's gonna happen. But it seems like in baseball when it did guys kind of the broke protocol like with with Miami, right, so that's that's when it happened. If they if they stick to what they're supposed to be doing, it should work. It's a lesson to us all. I mean, if you just wear a mask, and there was mixed messaging on that forever, and some segments that still are If this were a mask, and you're just you're just, you know, use common sense Where, like, If you have the flu, and I don't want to give it to you. If I back enough away and I have a mask on we should be fine. And sometimes, especially in the NFL. I think we overdo it. A little bit of some of it is just redundant. If I have a mask on and I'm back, and I'm like trying to talk to somebody of practice, it beeps incessantly and it's fine. But you rather air on that side of it, but I think some of it Is a little redundant, but you've got to be. You've got to be diligent Ice wishes, a society We were able to, you know, we would be in a much better situation is a nation and we actually would be allowing fans to come back and earlier, But we're not quite there yet, But I think this Fred Warner thing is concerned. I see the best player. By far in the NFL that as a question mark on whether or not he's going to be able to play because of covert 19 0. Yeah, I don't know that there's another player is there that I think there's another set of lime and one other guy. To pick situation here is your mike linebacker. So we'll find out more tomorrow and hopefully pass a few tests consecutively and get back out there. But you know, he took him for a week, eight days and he starts and come back. S so that's going to be big news tomorrow. Obviously, when we start the show when they get on the field for install day you need you need your signal caller Mike linebacker to play problem. London can be our AM and FM San Francisco, the sports leader. Let's get you the four big pieces of sound today in today's foreplay. Time for some foreplay with Papa Henry. "As far as making the playoffs. What they had not made. The playoffs is, I think, 06 And they are in first place right now. They're three and one Colorado's two on one of them. Arizona has lost three of their 1st 4 But you know if we give the Dodgers the National League West Who would be the second place team this year. I think that's up for grabs, including the Giants. The other four could all make a giant said after play really Well, obviously did three. We'd probably all be a little bit ahead of them. But you never know in a 60 game season. No, no. All right, starts tonight over at Oracle Park. Let's give you the foreplay. A lot of stuff today, including John Lynch with the morning show. Here's your foreplay for time for some foreplay with Papa Henry Dirk Diggler. Four chunks of audio that really get you going. I have a gift and I am trying to not be selfish about it, but to use it. On KNBR one for fighting the sports leader. Side. We're working on the floor. Second music here. We don't normally here at this time. No, I was We were talking about what? We wanted to play a lot. Today. We've got some Kyle. He was with the Christians, and they're really good friends. So the podcast broadcast turned out pretty good. He asked him a little bit about the Super Bowl. And Kyle. Well thought out. As always. Of course you got the judge John Lynch was on with the morning guys this morning will play some of that for you, including the big trade that Seattle may, but let's start with Rob Manfred. He spoke on MLB network with Tom Verducci, and here he is on the Marlins outbreak. I don't put this in the nightmare category. I mean, obviously, we don't want any player to get exposed is it's not a positive thing, but I don't see it as a nightmare. We built the protocols to allow us to continue to play. That's why we have the expanded rosters. That's why we have the pool off additional players. And we think we can keep people safe and continue to play. Learn. That's what he says. A lot can change now. That was last night. So we found out this morning that there more Marlins players up to 17. They've postponed Phillies games They've postponed Marlins. Obviously the Marlins for potentially even a week, the Yankees and then you're going to Baltimore. They're gonna start to jumble the schedule a little bit, and this came out as well. No other players in the league have players some of the personnel, but none of the other players in the league. Have tested positive. So that's that's good news. I think of another team had had an outbreak like this or a couple of the team. I think we might be talking talking a different story. But while the Marlins have a bunch Right now. It's contained around the rest of the league. Yeah, for now, obviously with one thing, and I think they've done Ah, under the circumstances, they came up with the work of a plan. How was that could impact the Marlins just not playing at all for a solid week. What players are they going to be able to get back? And when And likewise for the Phillies for a shorter period of time. But I think the one thing that they've got to adjust in their protocols as they cannot have a single team. With a group text among the players make a decision on whether you play or not. I don't know if the baseball has AH, commissioners are But they need somebody in charge. Whether it's the commissioner himself are hopefully a doctor somewhere that would make a call. Ah! But the one thing you gotta learn from this is you can't have AH Group of players on one team knowingly deciding to play when a bunch of others have been infected. That's got to be made from baseball. So They're making the best out of a really tenuous situation. But they've gotta learn from what happened on Sunday morning in Philadelphia and not let that happen again. Isn't it shocking, though, that there wasn't in that 113 pages something and said, OK, when something like this happens. This is who you contact or you contact baseball. You contact your Whoever Your designated person is who then contacts baseball did has anyone said whether they broke protocol? They had just not a protocol. No, I had it somebody on yesterday and they got a showman. He was Henry was in a bad vote by at all. You know, he's It's easier to read him. He thinks they shouldn't be playing. I think, you know, I think we're looking at it from a societal point of view. I don't know if we should be doing any of things we're doing. What we are. We're gonna have to pay the price with the cost of loom human life to some degree jets and irreparable harm are willing to live with that. We are apparently But no, there wasn't any protocol. What you're asking. Basically, we talk about magic numbers in baseball. Is there a tragic number in baseball? Is there a number where If X amount test positive or bang in the game. Well, I don't think they've spelled that out. Although the people that do this for a living epidemiologists say anything more than two was an outbreak. So they had already won. Earlier, they had three more on Sunday morn, including the starting pitcher, that's an outbreak. Should they have not played that game? I think everybody obviously FB ST Angelo on Troy or people of another spoke of that game should not have been played on Sunday. So whatever protocol or whatever tragic number they're looking at They need to adjust here in the real world now and somebody's got to. It's got to go to a higher authority. You know the players don't make a call. If it's raining out, they don't make the call on whether we're playing the game. They don't have any say we'll tell you when we're playing or not. You're not going to make the call, especially when it comes to You know, spreading a virus that could kill people unknowingly, So no. I mean, the one thing you have to learn here is that was something we could never repeat again. I hope that they've covered up that loophole. All right. Number two. Let's hit. Some football will get to John Lynch in a minute. But this was fascinating. Chris Simms and Kyle Shanahan are best friends. They were cast on pro football talk, and they were talking about that third and 15 but Kyle Stan and expands on that. To some other key points of the game when he started to feel nervous. Take a listen this.
