"Got to think about All those certain things that go into it again. It's It's everyone's choice. Um, whether they want to get vaccinated or not. That's really all I got on it. I don't want to go too into detail, but, um, yeah, I haven't been vaccinated yet. I didn't know if you were sort of, you know, doing some more research on it. Or, like kind of how will you? How will you make an informed decision on that? Yeah, I have been, um, for me. I don't You know, I'm just stand by myself right now. You know, I don't have a family or anything like that. So you know again, there's there's a ton of different things that go into it. I'm going to evaluate that on my own and Make the best decision that I feel like is, you know again, the best for for myself during mall. Aaron Goldhammer, Mike Wells with you, ESPN radio. The ESPN app. Yeah. I mean, this is a guy who's missed a month of his career. Mike already with mono, so he knows what it's like to miss games because of random viruses coming up at the wrong time. Um, And if I was a Panthers fan, you know, I would have serious questions about this here. I would. As a fan, I would want all my star players on my favorite team, regardless of sport. To get the vaccine and I just get it's after Jon Rahm lost $1.6 million at the memorial golf tournament in Columbus last week because of a positive test. I am amazed that more players aren't rushing to get the vaccine. Yeah, Here's here's the thing, though. What you know, Some athletes may say that it's for medical reasons to have health issues or not. If somebody says that you Hey, I can't I'm not comfortable getting it because I'm dealing with x Y or Z health issue. You're going to say what Um, well, I mean, I don't know a health issue that would make you you know, not other than age that I understand. And I'm not a doctor, So I don't want to try to play one on national radio this morning, but I don't know a health issue that would Cause someone to have hesitancy about that. It'll be. It's gonna be interesting How this how this plays out because teams can't force them. But I totally understand why teams want to find out right and I and I I just can't if there isn't some major health reason just seeing the jam Rams. Is Tutu Atwell Too Small to Succeed in the NFL? - burst 08

"Now to god. The i know that you are extremely enthusiastic about Terrence marshall going to the panthers. Twenty seven th pick of the second round just a few picks after escorts from lsu tears marshall to the panthers. What are your thoughts on this cal. I'll pick it a fantastic lang spot. you know. I think i was super high on marshall. Probably highest of just about anybody in the industry All all college season. And all you know predrag and my my enthusiasm is not where one bit. I love the landing spot where some people might be turned off on it You know I know that he is not maybe going to be immediately. Be the number. One with robby anderson and with dj more there. But i think he's going to have a clear role from day one because if you look at his body type and how profiles ios not just a big bodied receiver he also is a a burner to i mean he is true burner and You know high jump. High catch radius any any provides the wide receivers did not do as your which was give a teddy bridgewater. Now is going to be darnold. But they didn't have anybody to score in the red zone. You know everything. They they scored was from like you know deeper out or the the running backs the mike davis or you know. But they really didn't have anybody in the red zone that they could produce. So i think marshall steps in right away and could be. I bet he has a real legitimate chance at leading all rookies in in receiving touchdowns ex year. So you know it's somebody that i like. As far as a talent. I think he can easier to age. Well in that offense because He is going back with his former college coach. Now the head coach of the of the panthers. So i think that this guy drafted him whereas he might have fallen a little bit in. Nfl draft because there was a little bit uncertainty right before the draft about some of his medical history. I don't think coach takes them at high if he has any type about about the about his foot injury so i think that this is going to be the guy that's going to be all help you. Now you're gonna have some flashes. He's going to be probably inconsistent. Probably a lot like a like. I kind of value him a lot. Like the where i had claypool asher whereas i kind of knew that there was going to be a lot of competition for targets but i knew that there was gonna be a lot of upset especially if somebody gets hurt And i just think that there's gonna be a lotta touchdown and he's a big guy when people start really understanding how much of a freak athlete is. Don't be surprised if this guy is being compared as maybe even number one wide receiver in this class next year. That's that's how upside. i see you know. I do think chases a better prospect but you know they were on the same team and You know even on the team with jefferson and chase He marshall was extremely valuable piece of their natural shape team. I mean he. I think he had like fourteen touchdowns or something you know. And he had costa twenty yard per catch average on the team. I mean he he really is a tremendous player and then when those two guys left last year you know he played over about a. I don't know about six or seven seven games. you opted out. And he averaged one hundred and fifteen dollars. You're talking about more leading devante smith. It was really. I believe tears marshall who bleeding the country in yards per game you know before he opted out and he also was averaging close to two touchdowns a game you know and this same competition is all those. Stc guy so. I just liked body. I can't i hate to sound like a broken record. But i really do like big receivers. It's not the smaller wide. Receivers can't thrive in that bayer wide receivers don't bust. I just think that when you historically look at all the body types of players that are generally over six foot in there like over two hundred pounds to twenty six. I'd say two to twenty is about the average. You know we get the top hand wide receiver fantasy for fancy standpoint every year. That's probably about the average. So i like my guys. That profile big catch raises. So i just feel like they're more consistent with a when when you get that's capable of being a possession receiver getting first downs and touchdowns. I i like their consistency versus having a field stretcher. We might put up forty points in a game lake. You kyle i am. I am feeling good about carrots. Marshall and about what he's gonna do in his nfl career. The only hold back that. I have with taras marshall and again this could be viewed as a positive based on what i'm going to say in a second is so terrorist marshall hops into offense with dj more lobbying said in christian. Mccaffrey already there. So you're already looking at the possibility of being the fourth target there in carolina which i deal and add that to the fact that sam darnold who i think everyone considers at this point to be in the bottom. Half of the starting quarterbacks is throwing the ball to terrence. Marshall this is this is clearly not ideal so short term. There are some concerns. I do think like you that he's going to be great in the red zone. Short term era. You're gotta be thinking while sam. Donna already has connected to robinson clearly. The carolina organization views. Dj moore's or number receiver cj. Metcalf a christian mccaffrey a year a year ago. He broke the record for the most receptions for running back in a single season ever. She has to view him almost as a receiver. At this point with the matt of receptions which is insane that he's getting one hundred receptions i think it was a year or two ago so that that's not ideal but dynasty football dicey football so not necessarily great redraft person. In my opinion but dynasty football is about the long game and the long game. I see in the long game i see turns marshall absolutely thriving because we don't know a five we anderson's gonna be in carolina long-term. We don't know what the scenario is going to be with. Sam darnold or with christian mccaffrey. Dj more but we know the is one of the best receivers in this class in. He is talented enough will were at some point career. He will get an opportunity probably sooner rather than later if not this year to really showcase what he can do and he has the talent to be a number one receiver. I love his size. I loved as a big bodied receiver. That's a great fan a red zone. There are a lot of good things about terrence marshall and so what i was saying earlier is the fact that not going to be good in the short term is almost a positive here for you as a dynasty are because now we're seeing him fall to the third fourth fifth round pick of the second round which is lower than it should be gone if anything. This guy should be going at the back half of the first half so now because the term concern that comes with marshall. Now you're gonna be able to go up there and gets terrorist marshall and you're not gonna have to reach from either he's probably just gonna fall right in your laps and you're gonna walk is one of the biggest winners in your dynasty graphs. Because here's a guy that has a potential to be a top five receiver in this

"panthers." Discussed on AM 1530 WCKG

"Panthers avoided being down three lovin this serious with a stunning come from behind, OT win couple of nights ago, a guy who had one quite historic goal in Florida hockey lore is Bill Lindsay was their current radio color analyst. Unless he kind enough to give us a few minutes with his thoughts on this one bill, You scored the winning goal to give the Panthers their first ever playoff series win back in 96. So you know what playoff pressures about talk about this Syriza and what it's like from an in state rivalry standpoint. Seven years in the making between this floor in Tampa Bay, Syria's It's been a long time and everyone was wondering if they were ever going to meet the playoffs with these two teams ever going to be really good at the same time, And finally everything came together this year and that this playoff series has been everything and Morris had all the emotions the ups and downs the roller coaster rides. Tampa Bay was able to get the first two games the Panthers down back five threes, the deficit going into the third win in overtime, and then it goes all the way back Temple be was 41 old. If you go back to last year when leading after two periods, so was almost an unbreakable streak, But the Panthers found the way to punch their way through. For a couple of goals in the third period and the must win situation and Brian Lumber gets the overtime winner, so it went from a situation that looked very bleak. Where the Panthers now have a chance in this Syriza and this Florida, Tampa Bay, Syriza everyone. There's a lot of buzz around it. It's been really good for the game of hockey. It's been good for the The state of Florida the growth of the game down here that and this series is offered up a lot, and I'm sure you had Lemberg in your pool toe score the overtime goal, right? A triple. I actually said to Doug wagons because the way that lumber was playing down the stretch, and he wasn't a regular in our line up until maybe the last 10 or 15 games in the season. And he got himself a job by playing hard hitting everything. Mentioned himself in that four point role, and I told my radio partner Doug Klingons. I said through the playoffs, Ryan Long Berg is going to score an important goal. At some point. I didn't know what whether it be Tiger or something, but it ended up being the biggest goal of the Syriza. So far, he plays hard gets watching. Chances is just not an actual finisher. Did not have him in my post. He was not like take the scores. The overtime winner. But a guy that has done everything for this team. He would run through a brick wall, and the team was ecstatic for money. Scored Everyone in that pantry locker room just kind of embraced. Ryan Long. Berg is the hero were with Panthers radio commentator Build Lindsay and Bill. I gotta ask you about Bobrovsky and coming off the bench and Going nine for nine and saves That's gonna be a huge emotional boost is well. Rossi come off the bench is big for the Panthers going to get the start 12 30 Saturday. That Roland and the luxury the Panthers have is to quality goaltenders. Chris Traeger hadn't excellent season, but Broschi with what he's done in the past. He's a proven goaltender. No. You go to Bobrovsky and National s key on the other side of the Panthers have gotten to him. They scored some goals. National Escape played a lot of hockey during the regular season, and he is the only option for Tampa Bay. The Panthers get a fresh goaltender and bobrovsky that didn't play. The game before game number four or three and only played a period in overtime in Game three. He's rested. Rush healthy and ready to go. So Panthers having that goaltending rotation. In Bobrovsky getting said he is eager to get in the net for Game four improved that it's his crease. And last thing Bill Lindsay. What do you think the Panthers need to improve on in this game for to get this Syriza? Even It's a big one. For what the Panthers have to improve on. They've got to make sure the penalty kill has to be better that they got to figure something out. Three for four in Game number one on the power play for Tampa Bay two for three in game number three. When they get on the power play. Tampa Bay looks like almost every time that they're going to score a goal, the Panthers have to find a way to kill some penalties. And game number four. You go into the starts, you have to get off to a good start. The first goal is going to be big, because when the Panthers play with the lead and have the lead, they just Was tampered out of their comfort zone T press a little bit so we'll go at it in the pen. I know the Panthers came from behind, but in game number four, you don't want to try and roll that dice and have that same sort of scenario, so companies have to find a way. You get a lead and trying to contain that lead throughout the game. That's Panthers. Radio color man. Bill Lindsay, you broken down nicely. Listen for special teams in this one. Coming up. Next. We'll hear from players side of things. My chat with lightning center Anthony Surreally closing in on opening face off Florida at Tampa Bay in conjunction with NBC Sports, You are listening to the Family.

"It's been really good you'll watching the starter that florida tampa game over. Vegas was a little subdued because there were no goals it was still a great luck and plus i love everything. Vegas does to put on the show but watching those fans in florida going bananas. During that game i sat there and said i am so jealous one of the two things that made me jealous this weekend. Watching mike altieri the longtime media leader of the los angeles kings seeing that he had two holes in one during a gulf round on saturday. That made me really jealous. And then seeing all those fans at the florida tampa bay game and it stinks that for two great series like that are going to be toronto and montreal and edmonton winnipeg the we won't get that. It stinks. i'm jealous. We'll talk about that with eric.

"We'll do some people thought that the panthers maybe should have taken a quarterback specifically justin fields with number eight pick. What is matt rule said about his decision to go with jesse horn. What does he like about this guy. One thing he did say as like jaycee lived this like he knows what it takes to be successful in the nfl. Because he saw his dad he lived at his dad was. Nfl player. great nfl player. he's grown up with it. His whole life play at the highest level. He's got thirty three inch charms. He's six one. Whatever he is ran for three jumped forty two inches. I mean he's a. He's a rare physical specimen who also has the pedigree that's hard to find. He loves jc horn. He loves the physical nature cockiness and the size the speed to match up with all the big receivers in this division but it also tells us something about what the panthers feel about. Sam darnold over justin fields. Right i mean darnold is a guy when they traded for him. They talked a lot about this like he could almost be in this draft from an age standpoint. He's only twenty. Three darnold turns twenty four june. He's younger than joe burrow. Who of course was in last year's draft but it's a risk and if just enfield's goes on to be an all pro guy and chicago and the bears answer quarterback. History will not look upon this panthers decision favorably again. Nothing to do j. c. more about darnold versus justin fields.

"Jobs down round out on. Remember that quote from j. edgar hoover about the black panther party being the biggest threat to us internal security. It happens it. Just the moment that the panthers begin to start creating liberation schools and free breakfast programs. Not bad it makes you strong noble the created liberation schools so that the children could be instructed during the day and they started inviting neighborhood children and they realized that many of the children were hungry. And even honey. And that's what we do. And in response to that they started breakfast programs where they essentially would invite any and all children to calm to panther headquarters and they would provide their children's with free. Breakfast could take them to go before you know it not knowing what's.

"Stretch thank you all right. Yes thank you the great rich cimini all that conversation about sam darnold than what the jets are gonna do well. They made the decision on monday. Trading the former number three overall pick to the carolina panthers and head coach matt rule the jets get three draft picks in return including a second rounder in two thousand and twenty two so sam darnold heads to the panthers another domino falls. Their teddy bridgewater was the incumbent and carolina. And he's either now going to be the backup or be moved elsewhere. You would think maybe we'll get into that and the jets now. Everything is cleared the runway as it were cleared for the jets. Who now have no quarterback in the building but the number two overall pick. And zack wilson will be sitting there so connect all those dots. That's where this is going to mark your initial thoughts on the trade. Sam darnold to the carolina panthers so my initial thoughts are that this doesn't always happen or perceived exceptionally seemed to happen but i think both teams got value. I think the panthers were in hot water the shawn front and that's who they wanted. I think they were gonna do and sell the moon for that. You get darnold. Picked up his fifth year option. The jets got picks. We just talked to me that like look if people had wanted sam darnold. There've been some sort of bum rushed for sam darnold. There would have been more value. But that's just wasn't the case and joe. Douglas has not fleeced and deals. They have i think. Twenty one draft picks over the next two years was seven in the in the first two rounds so the jets are still in good position. I think they cleaned up. What would have been intentionally been a little bit messy to have darnold. Zack wilson. there. I know some people feel differently but for the panthers i loved the idea of offense coordinator joe brady showing that he can do. What adam gates and others have not been able to do. It's a good start for fresh. Start for sam. Darnold is much better much better place than the jets had been the last couple of years and that number eight pick. You can go offensive line. You can do what you need to fortify the offense that went all defense last year. So i think it's a it's a two year window to find out what you have in the sky and if it works it's a great story for sam darnold right and it could be a one year window even picking up the option. It's only guaranteed for injury only. I'm always surprised teams. Don't pick up those options because it's not that big of a risk you just you just hoping he doesn't have a major injury. I love it. If i'm you know daniel jeremiah or the people that were banging the drum saint sam darnold's one of the best quarterback prospects they've ever seen Which so far has and look good. And he is now going to. I think what's a pretty quarterback friendly system we were. I was much higher on teddy general than you guys last year. But you still could look at the numbers like if the floor here is teddy bridgewater throwing for four thousand yards and going up and down the field and moving the ball like you would think sam darnold kadewe that if as danny would say he can play the guitar. I don't necessarily think they'll just hand. Hand him the starting job just because teddy's do so much guaranteed money that it doesn't make sense to me For them to dump teddy unless they have a somewhere to dump them like someone wants him or an upgrade. Which would have been the shawn watson. That doesn't look like it's happening now. So i kind of expect that both darnold an teddy will have a chance here to play but you would assume darnold is the favourite donald the heavy favorite but we will see how it plays out. It gives them options and it is the we talked about it at the top top of the show. What's that i was just gonna say but to be fair teddy's played at a higher level. And we've seen it. Then sam darnold ever recruiting greg including in his first couple seasons. I'm just saying we'd do greg. But i mean everything. The carolina panthers have said and done this off season told us they're not with teddy bridgewater using the bill rate but they gave up a second round. Pick not not this year's pick though that's what got it done. What they gave up a second round pick but it's next year second. You know that that's putting a certain value where jalen hurts gets drafted or different guys get drafted. Those are not guys. You necessarily think are going to be your quarterback. That's all the reason. I think it's clearly darnold and is because matt rule had teddy bridgewater in the building four year running his offense with brady and clearly and me and then they made it very clear has been talking about. They weren't thrilled with the result. So i guess they could fall back on teddy if darnold disappoints. But i would think maybe they're looking for a fresh start just like the jets and for me it is. I did have a lot. Invested in sam darnold all jets fans did because he was the highest draft. Pick by the jets. Since joe nemeth everything pointed to him being a the real deal but it has been talked about ad nauseam it. Was you know the circumstances that that he he was forced into as a jet were unholy. I it was really the coaching and the personnel issues in the front office. If felt like he never had a chance. So do i have to have a fear. A deep down that he still can be a really good player. And maybe even better than zack wilson. In a more healthy setup. yeah. And that's why i said to a rich i said what's the harm in keeping them in the building seeing if he actually can realize that potential But at the same time. I do trust the process and i do think that if they really do love. Zack wilson and you restart that rookie contract clock and a lot of people in my mentions on this podcast. Saying you're crazy about the jets even getting second round or for san darn. There are people that believe. This guy can play so the jets now can get a premium draft. Pick down the line and maybe turn that into something..

Zack wilson sam darnold daniel jeremiah fifth year zack wilson next year adam gates joe brady monday danny matt rule both teams second round last year joe nemeth Sam darnold seven this year jalen hurts both

"In in these people's free health clinics as well as I mean. They were not the only ones with these. But but I think you have to to draw some parallels there. As just a kind of an ending to the story and I I think that again. This is one of those areas where. I remember one time my grandfather gave me a book called lies. My teachers told me. And, I thought it was a very daring book for my grandfather to give me when I was young. and it was based on the idea that the history. You think you now is not the the truth. There are lots of things that have been filtered especially in this case through the lens of white supremacy, and taught to you as if it is the only truth, and you don't know the whole story, and I think that in that spirit learning more about the Black Panthers Organization was part of what I wanted to do. To do the show the film that I watched in addition to reading, was the Black Panthers Vanguard of the revolution. which if you're interested in learning more about the Black Panther, party I would highly recommend you watch this documentary. There are lots of interviews from some of the key players in the party at the time. to to kind of give you a better understanding of. Not just the organization is an abstract, but the the people who were in it and what they did, and what they were able to accomplish and what their goals were More on an individual personal level I I really highly recommend it. the as the panthers grew and expanded their goals as they were achieving all of these things that. The government was failing to achieve on community levels They got more support from the public at large They began to work with other liberation movements. They began there were international chapters. They spoke out against the Vietnam War It initially was very male movement. It was a very kind of macho, typically male thing, but at its peak, the majority of members would be email, and so even though that was still a struggle at the time there were there were definitely the beginnings of Women's Liberation Within this movement as well females taking some of the more. What you would consider like masculine roles, carrying guns, guarding the Party and men, taking over some more traditionally female roles, feminine roles of like Cooking Breakfast for kids for you definitely saw those beginnings. what would the what would eventually be lead to kind of the fall of the party? in part was largely due to FBI interference J., Edgar Hoover and then eventually Nixon they used something called. They use a counterintelligence program that was called coin. Tell pro and This is something that any of our listeners of color probably already know all about but I. Bet a lot of our white listeners do not know much about and I obviously. Fairly will I in what that is, but I would love a recap for the listeners. So, this counterintelligence program were was basically made up of F.. B. I. Agents Finding ways to dismantle the Black Panther party from the inside because they saw them not necessarily as a violent threat, although they may have said that that it was really a threat to the status quo and a white power. It was a it, they they their ideas were garnering widespread support, and they didn't like that, and so they found a number of ways to vilify the black..

Subscribe for free on Apple podcasts. or in your favorite podcast APP and we're back on the Phallic Alcoholic podcast. This is David Walker here. Of course with my co-host Gina Thomas and we're joined by the one and only Brian bevere sluice from the keep sounding. PODCAST US and cat scratch reader. Talk about the Falcons. Going on the roads take on the Panthers Division game an important division game. This weekend We we spoke in the first. Half about the falcons trying to help out the panthers by beating the saints and the panthers unfortunately dropping one on the road to the packers Clearly if the panthers are GonNa make up ground in the division in catch up to the saints that this is a game that is critical for their playoff hopes. They're five and four dropping. A five of five is gonNA make it a little bit harder to catch up with you. Know a a seven and two saints team but if they can you know keep winning in hope that you know they've got some matchups with the saints coming up They can possibly flip the division if you know they can play these games relatively well so important matchup. Obviously for the for the Falcons. They're playing essentially for Dan Quinn's career at this point. We did a lot of polling gina this week about On twitter and at the site about what it would take for Falcons fans fans to be okay with Dan Quinn. Staying head coach in the twenty twenty and I was a little bit surprised. I thought that most fans would be like no. We're done but it seems like the majority fans think that if he can win out or win seven of the next eight Games which I still think is tall task that they would be okay with him. Staying saying is head coach so some interesting results. In obviously beating the saints will buy you a lot of grace with with this franchise but let's let's start from that angle. I e how important you think. This game is for the Falcons of Dan Quinn Before we go the Brian to talk about the importance to the panthers. I I think that In particular I think that he bought himself some goodwill last week. no matter what not just beating the saints but going into their house you know doing something that the Falcons have have struggled to do consistently like the Mike Smith in particular. It's been better under Quinn but I mean and especially in a year where they had one win going into it and the saints head end. Verse schedule Earn an inverse record. You know seven and one compared to one seven I I think he bought himself some good well without win especially the fact that he was willing to take a step back from The defensive play calling you know in I some things in change some things up to To make the team better and so. I don't think that this game is a make or break game for him but I do think that he is still. I'm trying to build a case to remain the Falcons head coach at the end and so from that perspective. I think that every minute of every game counts. Yes I think that every mistake is magnified I think every losses magnified and I think that you know we're watching the season slip away very quickly and so from in that perspective. I think that this game is undeniably important to us future. Yep so for reference the poll that was mentioning. We ran the quick one on twitter. quitter thirty seven percent of Fan said that he's gotTa go no matter what thirty six percent said if he finished his nine and seven keep him in. Fourteen percent said eight nate. Keep him in another fourteen percent. Said as long as six ten or better you wish you keep him so interesting wresting results there in you know I think if they're gonNA finish nine and seven. They have to win. Obviously the Sunday so Brian. How important and this game for the panthers with an eye towards the playoffs It's obviously hugely important It's visual game. Even if the Falcons skains might not really have realistic shot at the playoffs. It's still a big game. The panthers need to rebound they've even without Cam. They've always been very very momentum. Based I've said that many times on this podcast and ultimately they have to come back to the way they win football football games which is Christian. McCaffrey the football play. Good defense sacked. The quarterback like this is a game for them to restore their competence. It's also a game. Where Kyle Alan can rebound a little bit Pretty much every game going forward is important because this is the toughest part of the panthers schedule. Because they have the Falcons twice which regardless eldest of their schedule. The Falcons always at least get one win over the panthers are how good they are And they have Seattle they have hundred remember who else they got. They have that up real quick great journalism. You've got Washington and Indianapolis Yeah Washington. Obviously you. I think that's a winnable game. They lost that one last year. and Indianapolis is a tough team. Very well put together. So it's they need to put together a string of wins in order to really get a push for the playoffs because even if they if they don't win the division there's a chance that even if they have say a ten win record that they don't make the playoffs because because the NFC is so stacking right now so really. I think this is the game. Where IF CAROLINA IS GONNA rebound from whatever? The Hell is going on with them right now that they need to go back to their style of football. And Kyle Alan needs to rebound and I I liked Kyle Allen but I don't think think he's GonNa be like your Nick foles type guy. He's a high level backup. I don't think he'll lead them to the Super Bowl but once you get in the playoffs it's all fair game at that point. So that's the objective right now. Yeah new season starts over all right. So let's talk about some of the specific matchups. The one I think is pretty interesting. Here is the panthers defense because I I was reading about them. And you alluded to this. In the first half of PODCASTS. They are a little a bit of a `Nigma they are one of the best pass rushing teams as a matter of fact. I'm a think they lead the league in sacks they are one of the best pass the defense is in the league and they are. I think the one of the bottom three run defenses in the League when he started which is not yeah. Yeah it's it's really weird like you don't normally see that in so they're ranking puts them as like a middle of the road defense And it it's not like they're fourteenth against the pass and sixteen th against the run. It's like they're really good against the pass and really bad against the run. which is not a normal alignment? We see for defensive units. Obviously on the Falcons side of the ball the offense up until Oh this past weekend could not run the ball to save their life and now. We've Austin Hooper probably will not be playing because of a knee injury. devante Freeman is out either. Either Smith is out for the season and it just seems like this is it is the weirdest match Gotcha. I think we're GONNA see Sunday so Brian. I'll start with you here. I what is the story with the panthers. Defense is all of that true. You think some of his exaggerated you know. Are they missing guys like Cohen Short. Thomas Davis is that a factor here is it the change in the style of defense. What do you think is contributing to the sort of a `nigma? Ah That's going on and Carolina right now. I've noticed that. So they they. They allegedly switch to a three four. But it's more of a multiple defense. They run for three three or four depending on the game situation but ultimately they have lighter bodies out there who are guys. We're going to rush the passer who are a lot more athletic but in gap disciplined that becomes a problem when you have a team that is really the vote. It's running the football Brian Burns has been really good for Carolina. Bruce Irvin has been really good for Carolina. I know you guys know who know who he is yet. Gerald McCoy turned out to be a very good signing for them. But this team is basically built to rush the passer. And that's not great when you play against a team that can run the the ball in a game situation they can run the football I think they're missing K.. Want short a lot because he would have been another big body to put in the middle where now now. It's done Terry Po who has been average of defending the run. He's too and Gerald McCoy who has never really been a big run defender as their remained. Defensive Tackles in the defensive ends are a combination of Irvine Burns of Mario Addison. FAO bottle. These are all is is who are basically meant to rush the passer. Yes so I liked the fact that they devoted more of it to the late they they. They corrected the the fact that they couldn't rush the passer last year very effectively. But they're sacrificing the run game. They're honestly if you have that like low tier flex play a fan duel or anything like that. I would put the falcons starting running back there because this could be a game. Where he he ends up going for over one hundred yards on? And it's just because the panthers defense is is weird right now because Thomas Davis were both very successful because of the fact that they didn't have lineman all over them all the time time and now leuke estimate perfect reads shack. Thomson's been great but when they have linemen off all their faces all the time. They're not defensive lineman. They're not expected into be able to. You know put off tackle on his back all the time. So Yep from the standpoint of the rushing gaming it's the panthers defense we could see them totally rebound bound and figure it out. Cause that cause Ron Rivera. Has that weird ability to do that but right now they're.

"I mean going into the season, I think everybody bucks fans, look that the division and thought that you know, the bucks would definitely be the worst than then that the same of the falcons on the Panthers would you know, sort of battle it out for the top three spots, and they were all potential playoff teams the now boy the falcons on the Panthers are bad. And so that was unexpected. And not a lot of fun for anybody. And I do think it is worth pointing out that both teams have suffered injuries throughout the season. Some pretty significant, you know, the falcons injuries are pretty well documented the Panthers I think suffered quite a few on the offensive line very early in the season, which arguably could could have been a big contributor to Cam Newton's getting banged up throughout this season. So let's talk about this game though. This is interesting falcons are five nine the Panthers are six eight. So a win by the falcons, essentially ties them, but would put the falcons ahead because they would have the better NFC south records to the falcons with actually the. Have the potential to finish second in the NFC south, which I don't know that that's something. Either team wants this point because they're essentially playing the sells out of draft position if they win this game, but that's a completely different conversation. So let's talk about the falcons offense going up against this Panthers defense, and to me this is one of the this is interesting because Brian last week, even though it was a loss. The pit Thor's defense actually held New Orleans to twelve points in Carolina. They they really really stymied that normally high scoring explosive saints offense. So what was the story there? What finally clicked that that defense showed up in the big way against the division rival? Well, the secondary showed up number one. Dante Jackson had himself a really good game as the Panthers second round pick from this year. They managed to get forced turnovers. They got they had a couple on top of the. Two point conversion return by Dante Jackson, which turned into two points for the Panthers. Front seven wasn't all that great. They still managed to get after breeze a little bit. But for the most part, it was just a it was just a herculean effort by lewke cly who had one of his best games ever. And the secondary finally playing up to what they seemed like they had the potential to be earlier in the season..

"Panthers. Go first quarter fourth into the fifty north Turner dips into the bag of tricks, douse this up Christian McCaffrey the pass that goes for a touchdown. It's seven nothing Panthers vote. Right. Fourth quarter. Camara capping off the eleven play drive with a sixteen yard run to take the lead Panthers, though hung around down three that was one last chance. The drive ends with an incomplete past saints hold onto win there. Now one win away from clinching the one seat on the other side. The Panthers playoff hopes just about done here is Cam Newton after the game. Biggest is heartening for me. Just because so much invested time that you put any. I know you don't want to you don't play a role as game. But we just gotta be I got to be better. I got to be better. And that's that's what's so frustrating. When you want so bad, and you push. You you put so much on your plate. And you know, it doesn't come down to you. But at the end today just got a poacher into the bargain. Obviously my arm hasn't allow me to do a lot of practice. Been on a pitch count for for longtime. But it ended today, you know, it is was it is. But that's not that's not that's not know scapegoat. That's not something. I want people to bet me out on it. It's just something that is reality. Stink. Cam Newton spent a good deal that press conference talking about the shoulder. We don't know how long it's been bothering him. But what has happened to this team to not only came Newton put this Panthers offense? I mean think about this week one. They lose their starting left tackle. And they get a guy off the street who shows up Wednesday and then plays every play. Yes. On sunday. And again, we just talked about backup office of backup office of Lyman from reason, and they have the right tackle and training. Right. And so they lost a lot right tag on that and move the backup. Who's actually played moten is played really well over I take, but they have had a lot of issues up front. So that's been a big issue for them on the office of side of the ball. I will tell you about this. I appreciate the fact that Cam Newton is playing with a significant injury. And I will tell you how difficult it is to play when you're injured when you don't get to practice the difference between me. Playing injured in Cam Newton playing injured is there's a there's a difference there. Because the position I played even if I can't use great technique because I don't get to practice. And because I'm injured I can turn everything the position I played into a street fight. I can bloody your nose and the bottom line is. I mean, great out very well. But I won't cost my football team game. You can hide your injuries in that little phone, Brian because all the years you had of not practicing, and honing your craft as a guy who's gonna be injured is not going to be practice all the time, but steal the efficiency were expecting that. So but. Tricks. I would've but I look at the quarterback. I looked at the quarterback position man, you're out there in the open. And now all of a sudden, you gotta shoulder that's truly bothering you..

"So you couple that with a pretty strong Brown's offensive line. That'll probably do a decent job against the Panthers pass rush and on paper. This looks like a not so good match for the Panthers. Yeah. The browser kind of good at will wear bad at you know, defending like we talked about the buccaneers last week. Like David joke. Who's also he hasn't been super involved last couple of weeks, but he's very athletic. Big play. You know, capable tight end even on short passes and stuff like that. And we're not gonna covering tight ends either. And then Calloway's big play threat. And we've been like I said we've been like horrific defending deep passes. So that they have a lot of they have the tools to exploit what we're what we're bad at which is a lot of things right now. But but yeah, the defense I will say this the defense did look a little bit better last week. They did stop run quite a bit. Nick Chubb is going to be a big part of their offense. I would imagine they're going to come out with a better passing game plan. Now that Ron Rivera the one thing I didn't I forgot to mention this earlier. But Eric Reed said this he heard a play called during the game that they hadn't practiced. He knew that something was going on with the defensive play calling. So it sounds like Ron Rivera almost took over a little bit earlier than like he wanted to. So maybe and this is maybe more of an optimistic take for the defense. But maybe now that they have a week of knowing. Okay. Ron Rivera is going to be involved. They've game planned a little bit for that. And had him had his hands in there more. Maybe they'll have a better game plan involved for stuff like that. So that's one thing that I'm kind of hoping to see is like maybe an improvement on this defensive performance had against the buccaneers. Because despite everything that happened. I don't believe the Panthers defense lost that game because they pant. The Panthers offense gave the ball away. Too much. I'm just wasn't affected. So on it. I want to read more about that him saying we call it a play the we haven't practice sets a little odd. He didn't say we practicing. He said it wasn't a game plan. Yeah. You said it wasn't the game plan and say that's where having an experienced defensive coordinator comes into your benefit because Washington's not experienced enough to know. Hey, the what we're doing isn't working. Let's change the game plan and do something else. And you know, this this right here worked five years ago. The last time we played Tampa in Tampa in this situation. So why don't we do that? And or you know, this this is been known to to rattle. Jameis Winston things like that. Then only experience content you, and it's not Washington's fault is just you know, he's he's inexperienced. Yeah. That's so it's like Ron Rivera just kinda took over in the middle like our air. Let me let me let me. This. I mean, the defense did play better in the second half. Yeah. A lot of people is it's a split issue. But you know, if Cam Newton didn't have the worst game he's had in probably four or five years minimum. You know, we've probably win that game. Like Cam is pretty much. The reason we did not just to give you the quote that in the offense lineman. The offense of line didn't give him much to work with Cam throwing four interceptions. That's pretty much all does take some of the blame for two of those because he had hit his through. I don't know where what all of them would have been anyway because they look like they're going to be tough throws, even if he didn't get hit. But anytime you let your quarterback a hit as he releases. You're leaving yourself open for the past going to the wrong team before we didn't want to derail this too much. But I just found the quote, it was for max Henson. Eric Reid's Senate was clear Rivera was calling planes last week..

"Panthers man, Pat, Baldwin Milwaukee back home back in the states to take on the Drake BULLDOGS. We'll talk about that in a minute. The coach what a incredible opportunity for you. And for these young men over the last week or so just to give us a little synopsis. Just a little short thumbnail about the experience. We'll get the basketball in the second. Yeah. You know, first of all it's great to be back in the friendly confines of panther arena with you, of course. But the experience that we had going to Belfast Northern Ireland is something that you can't take away from our young men and the guys experience if they had it was a tremendous opportunity for them. We got a chance to speak with some some kids, and and work with them on different things and talk to them about kind of you know, what what makes our program run. Our our guys all get along because we all know about kind of the political state that they're in and somewhat even save religious Therion. With a separate separatism. But it was it was a great experience where very well organized a tournament was and as we mentioned before this is going to be a trip that they'll never forget. They might forget a shot they made or missed, but they'll never forget the experience of going over there as a team and in experiencing something different. Meanwhile, a couple of games against now at top twenty buffalo team and a very good Stephen F Austin squad. The as those two games on folded. You guys were right there had lead late first half against SFA four point game with about eight minutes to go against buffalo and just a run by your opponent in both games was kind of a difference. I it definitely was the difference. If you backtrack to buffalo. You know, like you said we were four points down with eight minutes to go, and we had three straight possessions. Where we didn't get anything out of it. And we left him off the offensive side of the floor and in buffalo came around. I think they made three threes in a row or started to push the lead back up after that. And we just couldn't recover obviously, incidentally, tournament team in a five seniors on their squad. So it made it difficult. If you weren't executing for you to win in that game. And certainly the same thing with Stephen F Austin, we we would count thirteen turnovers that led to sixteen points for them offer their turnovers and that was the difference especially in the first half when they shot thirty percent in the first half, but still were up five. So we would have taken care of the basketball. Maybe we'd have been up ten or maybe be a different story, but very good programs that we played instead caliber teams and for us. It was a great lesson for what you need to do in order to try to win games. Like that. Tonight, a five and one Drake BULLDOGS squad comes in here. You get a little help back in the back court. I know you're excited about. Yeah. We're we're excited to have Bryce Barnes back, and that will certainly help. Darius ROY and give him some rest when he needs because he's been logging a lot of minutes. So to have experienced also for some of my Bryce to know what you know, what we're expecting of them will be great for us. And I think it'll be a great addition to what we're now formulating with our with our starting five and our rotation. It'll be great to have him back mentioned Drake with a five one record daily returned one starter. But putting up some big numbers with Norton and with McGlynn, especially leading the charge. Yeah. Those have been really good, especially Norton when you have a a quality point guard that comes in and runs your show. You know, it really makes a difference with a lot of the guys you can see what mclennan's at fifteen a game, you know, Wilkins's at eleven and even knowing someone who's putting up his nine points to ten points per game. Game. And you know, but I think it starts with with Norton McLean in the paint. He's really been doing a great job for them. He's even trying to step out and shoot it not shooting a great percentage. But still looks competent in shooting in his last game against north North Dakota state. He may three so we have to contend with that. So those two are our key. But also they have some other guys that can really that can play to and we have to contend with them as well. One Murphy twins out the other twin will start coach best of scale against Drake. Thank you very much presented. We'll continue with more from panther arena. In a moment on news talk eleven thirty w I s end the iheartradio app. Good. You're practic health center is a.

"On jesus. No way to go. I jumped on the bandwagon the union vited me onto basically, this is your and wag. Right. And you know, what you should have been like if I did all this mess. It up. Should've stayed on. I didn't know that my hundred sixty five pounds would cause the bandwagon to collapse Cam was stronger than that not about your waves. If I show essence like you, just broadband vibes. My. Pash your broadband? You persuaded me to do everything we're doing here today? Vo and yourself word versus you'd have malleable first name the Steelers, Pittsburgh did crush the Panthers. Fifty two to twenty one last night and afterward. Mike Tomlin said, quote, probably not that good and quotes. So Bo how good are these Steeler. I mean, he's right about the fact that they're not that good. This wit for being down seven nothing. Too up fourteen seven in the span of one play from slimy. It was absurd. What was happening? They were killing the Panthers secondary of after we had said the defense is probably better than the other. Out here and a little ice with cheese. We talk about the Steelers when they don't play. Well, we talk about the when they're Mr. chaos what we know is they have all kinds of firepower. What we did not know whether they hit a defence and defence look bad early. This year looks good. Now, we were texting about the game. While we were watching this watching our predictions and our enthusiasm go to the wayside, and yeah, they might have dropped seventy on this team both they really really wanted to. And the only argument I think that backs up Mike Tomlin here is that. If you see this team as a stock. It seems clear that they are peaking because this is just such a high right now peaking assuming that this whole thing works on up down sort of mad recognize this is good as they are going to look, right? And it's fair to have a game where everything is going every day. It was a great day at work. Right. You hit all the stop lights. Your song is all when you turn on the radio. Everything went right for them in the course of this game. We could expect it you know, they play like this every week. We'll yeah. Of course, if they do, but the. Fundamental parts seemed to be there for this team. And that's what you deal with go along run them. Yeah. Big ben. He's not going to have more touchdowns. Incompletions? I would say again this season. I feel confident predicting that. But this defense is five straight weeks. Now bowl of them being really really really good. And this offense offense of wine gets complicated. Now, James Connor gets concussed is out. But. Oh, I'm glad you brought that up while the it don't matter if the Bill comes back like this is in a position where people get hurt. Right. Like if Levy Bill goes back in time to play James congress out published complain, you think people are going to do because that do that's behind James cod. This idea that you put anybody behind that line. They run the other dude isn't as good as James Connor, right? Like that everybody not he's not probably a guy who came. But the obvious point to bring up though, is that James Cotter should make it such that Levy on bell already knows nothing to win willing. He's not gonna come back to the sealers who's making the arguments gonna come back to the Steelers nobody thinks that's going to happen. But this we don't need. This. You always need. Good players watching that due to the tunnel in. The course of that game. Should be your reminded win this due back. They'll be salty for a little bit..

"Eagles dominating time of possession worked in our favor. The anti Ron Rivera game. I love it. Because because they took they were taking because they've thoroughly dominated as often simply defensively, but they took so long the score that by the end of the game, they only had like four drives. And so we didn't have a lot of ground to makeup on talking about the ton of on the on the field to between like didn't Elliott Nisshin. Missed field goal to be fair though. It was like twenty mile per hour cyclone like win like that's not a joke. Either. I was walking. I had went out to grab stuff for the game. We'll just say stuff not not legal drugs. Just some beers walking from my car to my house, which was roughly maybe twenty five yards at went from very calm winds to having to avoid a trash can flying at me. Like it was it was legit. Like that wind was not they weren't kidding about that at all. I mean, it's possible. Somebody threw it at you, though. I mean, I am a terrible person. I'm often referred to as well. It's not what you are. But you live in Pennsylvania. So you don't have to be a terrible person. The thought of somebody dislike laying in wait, wait to see Brian. And then just hop out amount of blue trash kit. That would be the greatest thing ever. It could have been. I mean, I just saw nothing come flying. At me. It was my trash cans, and maybe one of our roommates threw it at me. I don't know. Is rebelling about stuff you throw into it? You had a problem with all the trash, and it's putting in there. Yeah. You're right now, the time possession actually came back to bite the eagles because this was a very big defensive game. So it was kind of defined by big plays. And while the eagles made a ton of big plays. They didn't make the big plays to get touchdowns. Because this this should have been a blow out like the eagles absolute cylinders on offense. And they were being very aggressive two. They went forward on fourth down. I think it was like two or three times in the first half. Like it went for twice in the same drive and got it. So. And that's what I'm saying. Like if if it scored liquor. Got the ball back like more frequently before they upped away the end like we're probably looking at like a like a thirty one thing or twenty four nothing Olers. Yeah. It just didn't have enough chances to alway which part of that is the Panthers taking out. But like the eagles punted. It was the first drives fable attempt to they missed. Touchdown field goal. Touchdown. They could have just kept running up the score. If they got the ball more. Yup. And for whatever reason I actually wasn't super down on the coaching this week. There were a lot of plays on first down where it ended up being a five yard loss. And it's like that's really hard to come back from against a mediocre defense. And the eagles defense is pretty good that front sevens nasty. So filing the fourth quarter when the offense of line started to hold people down and the it helped the eagles went into more of a prevent defense too. But the offense actually was not losing yards on the like half a first down on a given play. And that that seemed to help as well. We'll see I'm still I'm still down on the coaching because we didn't start actually doing anything until the fourth quarter. And we were down seventeen nothing, and you made a good point part of it was because the prevent defense, which pro tip coaches future coaches future players, the only thing the prevent defense prevents as you winning the game. Just get that out eagles fourth quarter game threat told me I saw that so many times had absolutely it. It's absolutely true. The only thing the prevent defense prevents is winning. Don't do it. But anyway. We didn't start doing things that teams who win games do until we got into a seventeen nothing whole. And I'm not taking anything away from the eagles defense. They're really good. That's not the point. We saw the hurry up. No huddle. We saw more shots down field. We saw all those things when we were in a seventeen hall. Why why aren't we doing those things earlier in the game to build a seventeen nothing lead?.

"Your official. Carolina Panthers cat scratch reader podcast. We're here to break down. A surprisingly. Fun Panthers win on Sunday. I should say it was fun in the fourth quarter in the first three is sucked. But I'm joined by Brad, Brad. How are you doing this evening? I'm okay. It sounds like you, John. How are you doing? Pretty good. I do say I do wanna say about the fun part like that game. Like the fourth quarter was worth watching like Sunday night. I went back and just watch the fourth quarter all the way through because that was. Well, the fun part for me too. Is that I live in Philadelphia eagle country. So I was getting shit the entire first three-quarters from tons of eagles fans. So. Yeah. That the last drive was was nice fun. Little fact to this dude that I wanted to have on the podcast at some point. He he bench. We were talking about it on Saturday. And I said, well, if the eagles go up by more than seventeen there's no possible way. The Panthers are coming back, and apparently he thought to himself. Well as soon as they went down seventeen he's like, oh my God. They're going to do it. And he was right. The Panthers did make the comeback. Restraint touchdowns in the fourth quarter. And you say it Lanta falcons. Some about birds and three score the large leads. Yeah. I know I don't know what it is just kinda fly away when their birds burns. Yeah. I don't trust birds. I don't think the birds are terrible there. There are no trust or the birds complete assholes Brian. Did you say bird's, not trustworthy people? I said they're terrible people this and said, they're terrible. He's not wrong. I mean urge Rascic like if you ever had a bird as a pet. Yes, they're awful. They squad awful all the time. All the fucking time. They chirp, and squawk and squeal, and you have to put a damn towel over their cage to get him to shut up, and even that sometimes doesn't work ahead at one point when we had a bird. So I'd like I had recently like lost a part of my fingernail from getting some dropped on all removing stones time the hatch. It's okay. Big boy, and you're the demure bird of cat scratch reader. I guess so I was all. Yeah. My sister had a bird knows like trying to like become friends with it is bit me. Right. Unlike where I'm supposed to have a fingernail still bad. Oh god. That makes me cringe. Birds are terrible people. You heard it here. First they are awful awful awful people. The only exception is demure bird. He's not a terrible. I he's just an injury susceptible person. But he's he's injury prone. Honestly believe is because his last name's bird like his last if his name was Demere Jones, he would probably be the next Jerry Rice. I mean, How how many many birds? birds lasting sixteen game stretch in the NFL? Is this how frail like a? Demere quail up in the NFL demure coil. Speaking of birds, though. So to get a little more in depth than the fat then. Oh, wow. I almost said falcons, but it was kind of similar the eagles. Lou a seventeen point lead. But they dominated the Panthers for the first three quarters. I think Cam had like twenty eight yards passing and twenty eight yards rushing after the first half, which is not very good in my opinion. It's not doing. They also manage to knock themselves out of field goal position twice in. What was a very close game. Even with the eagles dominating on offense and defense and one point they had to penalties that pushed them out of field goal range, forcing Ron Verita palm, which I'm sure he loved by the way. He loved that. He had to is. He was so relieved didn't have a chance. Thank god. We don't have to give him the ball here. All right. We'll give them twenty five yards of fuel business. All right, cool. So. I'm gonna say something about I guess, you could finish summarize if you want because it just the general thought the whole time possession thing..

"Hello, welcome to the keep sounding podcast. Your hat scratch reader, official podcasts up Carolina Panthers and all their shortcomings. This is Brian joined by Brad, Brad. How're you doing tonight? I am. Well. How are you? I'm somewhat well, John. How are you doing tonight? I'm mostly okay. You guys just just criticizing every decision I make with my life tonight. You'll have pizza at some points. He can eat your feelings away. It is a very good pizza. I'm looking forward to it. So my. So speaking of eating your feelings away Panthers just lost. Just ugly gamed. Very reminiscent of last season. Chicago Bears game. I was so angry. I'm still angry. I think we all are angry to break it down. Actually, I'm, I'm not angry, you know, believe it or not. I'm not angry. I'm. I'm worse than angry. I'm disappointed, but I'm actually worse than angry. I'm apathetic. I don't give a shit anymore. Like. I just I knew it was going to happen. I expected it. I. We'll get into it later, but there were things that happened that I just said, you know, there's no way we're gonna win this game, and I stopped caring, and I don't know. I don't know if ever get if they'll ever bring that back out of me because it's just it's been the same shit just different day for so long. Yup. And. You finally got you finally turned me this last week. I finally like was very positive about the Panthers thought it was going to be. They're coming out aim as an offense, predicted a multi score victory, and they just put me right back in that same spot. I was at after the Chicago game last year where not picking the pantheon ever. This is your fault. It's my, it's my fault. John's pizzas. It sure is. We have something to look forward to, right. There's some gonna get pizza and we're gonna get to talk about how Washington embarrass the Panthers. I'm pretty sure I said the name. I'm not supposed to say earlier to seal wanna believe that John. Wasn't even listen for five minutes ago. Yeah. Near the beginning anyway, it was. It was new, the intro, yeah. So yeah, the Panthers got beat by the Washington redacted and it all started with the Panthers running the ball six, three times only to on fourth and one on midfield. And you know there might be something to be said about that decision, but it definitely didn't go the right way. And in hindsight, Ron Rivera says, just went for it. But instead what happened was foresight foresight as well. I should have gone instead, Washington took the punt back scores on what was a really easy touchdown, Vernon, Davis. I might add. Than the Panthers come out on offense. And I think that was that one DJ more fumble. Was that when the first time? No, no, actually what happened was when when Ron punted the ball DJ Moore was the least aware person that has ever been on football field and let the ball go into the end zone when he could have down at like the three yard line. Okay. That was mistake number two, because number one was putting in the first place. I'll expand on that lighter. We actually forced them into a three and out and DJ fumbled the punt. That's right. Turn trying to get yards fumble the punt return. And then the very next play six seconds later, Vernon Davis is wide as fucking open, twenty five yards downfield and scores..

"But yeah, we'll we'll see we get to see Eric read on the field and for someone who enjoys watching Eric replay, football, that is cool to see. So I think that does it probably for when the giants have the ball, I think we can move over to the other side of the ball when the giants are on defense and Carolina is on offense. And there's probably no other place we can start then the reduction which you know, I think maybe we'll blow this a little bit out of proportion because there's a limited amount of plays that. Actually are read option plays in a given game. It's not like these offenses are like fifty percent reduction. That's just not the case. Even we'll be talking about RPO's. They're a very small subset of players inside an offense. But when you're looking at the Panthers offense and the giants defense that has not been able to stop it at all day could come up really big. Oh, definitely in the Panthers, run it better than most teams? Well, we'll say mostly because of Cam Newton because he's just not normal. And he was also really, really good at running the option in Auburn. So he's been doing it for a long time. He does it really well. His ball handling is very impressive, and he is just hard to stop as a runner. Yeah, he's he's bigger than your linebackers. He might be bigger than some of your defensive linemen depending on how big your defensive linemen are. So it's just the size. Wise, it's hard to bring him down and then you add in how good he actually is a rudder. So the Panthers have this year, we reading one hundred eighty two yards on option plays that six point one yards per play, Cam Newton per sports info solutions that has seventeen carries.

"But. I'm not gonna sit here and say that I think Casey is thirty has of it because we've seen Thomas Davis makes agreed use hits in his career, and I wouldn't call him a dirty player either. I just think it was. Keyed in the moment. And I think he was rightly ojected and I re- with it. Suspending him. I mean, if you're trying to send the message. Yeah, I agree. You should just suspend them. So like sends a message like, hey, we're not effing around as far as the league goes, but you know? Yeah, that's the only reason. I think he should be spended. They should send a message that, hey, we're not taking more. It's no longer acceptable. Right. But other than that, I mean, they still scored on that drive Cam Newton's. Okay. So all in all it worked out. Okay for the Panthers. Thankfully. Thank God. Hopefully we don't see anymore. Those hits, I guess, is the best way to put it so good for Ron Rivera going on fourth down. Yeah, he did. He did. He didn't fact not turtle for once. That was good. He must have read last week's turtles. I believe on is gonna frame this if I just tried and true Cam with never gotten hit in the face. I hope not. I hope not either. We'll see how that goes as far as the season progresses, but we will be previewing the Bengals panther's game coming up later this week. Hopefully doing some some nice changes. We have going for us, but. Yeah, the Panthers lost this game, but hopefully that's not the case for next week. So we'll have our preview of that game going forward and. Thank you for joining us. John, Brad, any lasting thoughts you wanna get out there. Okay. Well, for almost from all of us, the fourth shore podcast, and thank you for supporting us in listening to the podcast. We will have a major facelift coming here soon. Can't really get into the details, but it's happening. It's going to be good.
