"Time ago. One more thing. I want to read this. From sean geek. Podcasts over on our facebook in loud casters page. You both hopeless. Talk to me three. Oh man this was a new thing for me. I'm a new listener to the show and boy. Did it feel good bennett. Kiss in seventy seven. Seventy eight first album was alive to and like anything. You've been for that long. You love to have you have fights with it. Your disagreements with it but in the end you still rally behind it. I so needed this guys. I was nervous when doc mcghee came into the picture all those years ago after representing all those bands in the eighties were doing. He raised the bar for all those bands blown them all up through the stratosphere what could he do for kiss in the eighties. Kiss was the band. I was made fun of. But under doc may agree they achieve the level success undreamt though now. The kids have made fun of kiss. Were buying tickets to the show and just like in the late seventies as the first decline happened. They tried hard to cater to everyone. Sometimes at the expense of longtime fans and sometimes fans are sometimes tint fans tend to do laugh when they found someone else of the moment. It drives me nuts. But i feel the same thing is happening now. The sometimes fans are coming to the show for that piece of nostalgia but they aren't gonna stay especially this soldier trained with fake as and beat her for twenty years going. Oh i still love the band but kisses so good at shoot themselves in the foot. Listening to doc listen to their own egos see the forest through the trees. This tour should not have had docket down. It should have put both jean paul in their places some tough love. Step it up. Change it up. Give something back to the fans. These fans will talk it up. See the shows ensure the shit of it online do something new personally. I won't bother see them again. It's been six times by now. I know the show. And if i really want you. I could buy the dvd. I just wish the band would have chosen to go out on top instead of falling down the hill. And for that sean. Geat podcast you. My friend are comment of the week. Let's hear i way you think i'm gonna be watching you tom. I just love the part. Where he's talking about. You know they try to cater to everyone in. Meanwhile you know be basically screwing up for everyone. We hear that all the time with any artist or anybody trust to please everyone. You end up pleasing. No-one and It's a great point. A great email. Great great comment. Oh we're gonna play the hits. We gotta play the hints. Whatever honestly we could do. We could do a podcast just on the settlers not an episode of the whole. The whole fucking say yeah. My god break o. R. e. lad. Gotta do this a classic. Now it's called psycho circus dude. That song. that album is just trash. Speaking of psycho circus real real quick before we get into the news and stuff somebody on i living it was. I think it was a loud. Castro's group got fucking bludgeoned by saying that psycho circus was favourite. Kiss album i started to feel bad for the guy he was getting up. Just brutally abused by saying psycho circus was a favorite album and i just sat back and laughed because he deserved all the abusively got it. Was that the guy that's inside again. All personal yes. That was it. Yeah and he started like that's the one thing we talked about like. We don't want our loud casters group to become toxic. No i don't really care if somebody wants all faulk. Fake fraley right right. But i don't want them to be fuck you and your fucking opinion. That shit is the stuff that we don't want correct is we. Don't care someone fucking has something to bitch about a little bit. But we don't want to be just you know us on a rant twenty four hours a day all day. That's what you know. The the group is about. It's and if and if it's friendly just going back and forth. I can't believe you like psycho circus album socks like that's fine. But when you start getting into the real like yourself back your life. Cielito cielito buddy later fruitcake. God bless your which you like in the future. yeah. Tom great feedback this week and she noticed a little shorter. Yeah yeah we're gonna to have to try to keep this thing moving a little bit more quickly in the beginning because we have a lot of stuff to get to when we're talking about revenge more time for the album review so tom before we move on wanna talk about petri on patriot. On his era people can come and support us and be part of our family there and we are have some little tidbits in little fun little things we also give to everybody. That's part of the pantheon group. We have four different tiers if people want to join We love having them. The interactions great. We actually have a a group chat coming up soon which we're all looking forward to and It's been Growing so much that we're we're constantly think of new ideas to kind of make it even more fun and exciting so we love to support the the paint pitch you on. People have been excellent in. We appreciate it and You know all the contribution stuff really go back into the show and it's been a great addition this year and we're really proud of the of the family that we got going there. You can find patriot on on the app. Patriot or patriotic dot com. Pat reo end end in the episode notes. There's a section there you can click on it with all the links it'll go paycheck and you can go right there. You need to find us. You just searched for creators. You just search shouted out loud gas. You'll find us there. Yeah absolutely we say it every week. Patriot guys are amazing. The family's growing we can express gratitude more. And like zeus. Said we got some things coming up And some of the things that we do for example you know depending on what tier on. We have a couple. We have some exclusive polls help help people actually interact with a show in in decide certain things that are going to happen on the show sneak peeks into episodes that nobody knows until you know we do a coming soon which is really obscure teaser for a lotta people but if you're patron you're gonna get an advance notice of what we're talking about. You don't have to wait until saturday morning. you're also going to have some interactive polls and some things to talk about some chats that we're going to be doing so know the as patriot grows like zoo said we're gonna expand our involvement with all of you as well and and keep that family growing so again we thank you guys very very much and we got some exciting things coming up all right one last thing. I just wanted to give a little A little thing here about are coming soon. A lot of times we make them obscure. We make them teasers confusing couple. People guessed it but this week because we're doing revenge. That coming soon is a movie poster from a recent horror movie called the unholy couple of you guys did get it so i thought that was pretty impressive but yeah we try to make them as obscure as possible It's kinda turned into a game with some people who try to guest so Again we try to make that fun. We're not gonna put coming soon and put a picture of the album cover. If your new listener we try to make these things. Very very crazy. Obscure and difficult to guess. Some people guest them and that makes it kind of fun so yeah so tom. Let's go kiss world. What's going on anything new. Since last time we were on the air kiss world is not where we want it to be right now. Obviously huge breaking news. Paul getting cova tour being canceled postpone at the last minute. Then the the show being postponed last minute than the tour being postponed. And then what are you know. A few days later gene comes down. He was diagnosed with covert They both seem to be doing very well. Paul is posting pictures of himself. As if he can't be the more most miserable fucking humid on the planet with that on his face. My edible though who fought face to let it lemon lips themselves just brutal and then gene is busy fucking tweet. About how excited. He's that abba has a new album. I mean or fighting with somebody online. Someone joe piscopo. The guy's name was joe piscopo like is that really him on my two hundred followers. You never know. I know but no i mean they seem to be doing all right But yeah the fact that they were both diagnosed obviously Not a good sign It's nice to see that they're recovering. They were vaccinated But they are older. They're seventy but it's nice to see the doing well. The tour has been postponed. That hasn't been anything crystal clear. But when they're gonna go back on tour now especially gene with his diagnosis also. The australia tour has been postponed again until twenty twenty two. They're playing for fucking pool of octopus. I heard this time. And i'll say our that's right. They go do an underwater yet. They're gonna take some of that. Plexiglass from the greek bill. The fucking cage for them to get in fake fraley getting your scuba gear. Entertain those molles but But all all jokes aside as you know where we're fired up for the kiss crews and we're just wondering what the hell's going on we haven't heard anything about it. It's it's not. Were officially under the two month. Mark for the kiss crews. Yeah so you know. I don't know who knows what's going on. That was the major major news. Obviously yeah tom i i just i don't want to dwell about it. Yeah the thing about. It is the way i look at his. Argh argh our heroes are old they got did knock on wood the look like they're over it yup and they made it through. We don't have to worry about them. Getting covert and bad happened to 'cause they got it they're both vaccinated. Thank god and so their their symptoms in you know health was obviously helped along by this vaccination and they're healthier up now we don't have to worry about them catching it. Maybe being as bad again. So i feel like they might have a little bit more confidence in themselves. Okay i got it. We went through. It will be more careful so our fans don't get it but their fear of getting it is over so i feel like maybe it'll be more like okay. Let's just go on and battle through it and feel comfortable that our our our our current heroes have gone through it and you know they didn't nothing bad happened to them thankfully yeah. I hope you're right. But i just don't know of a decision like that is going to be made based on how they feel personally. I think they're gonna make a decision based on a more a more global decision. But you might be right. They might look at him like eight. We survived it. We were through it. Let's let's go ahead. I don't know. I don't know if they are going to make the decision are gonna have to make it soon as well. We do have to worry about. With tommy and eric paul focus on you know why fuck them. That's why should we care about them. You know getting this. Why would we put them at risk because fuck them. That's why a lot of last. Treat the customer this way. Why because fuck on. That's why plus paul. Do you have any idea how much money will lose if we canceled this tour in this cruise. Fuck them exactly exactly. So that's what's going on in this world we're not gonna fucking go on this little bit further but one of the in showdown loud casts world you guys. We briefly said something about it earlier bought. We did put out this week. The zeppelin chronicles introduction. And that's with our buddy jay from the hook rocks and family members shout out loud cast murph and for those of you that are a kiss fans i would say maybe ninety five percent of you are zeppelin fancy and those two are two of our favorite bands and when we were starting to do album review cruise stuff. We thought about it like we don't want to waste zeppelin album because we want to hit all the albums take too long. So let's do something different. We don't have the time. And i know that's the the running gag with all the the you know the feedback is like a fuck you find the time you're damn right and a hatred on. Thank you for helping us out during this time. Because it's very time inducing and it takes a lot of research and that stuff comes in handy for us. We plan this. If you go back and listen to us at the end of last year we said two things are coming. Okay on long stem was this. It took until september to get this. Just right for you guys and you know. It still wasn't perfect for us but we felt comfortable getting this on the road and get going. That's the kind of commitment you get from us. That's the kind of like what's the word i'm looking for. Tom dedication yeah. We're not putting shit against the war on phones shit against zeppelin to switch. Just talk about it pains me to. He's a good gets opt cash.

"Of course it's a pad prince editor gold mine and welcome back to the gold mine. Podcast in general proud partner of the pantheon group of podcast. So dr disc would he got for us to jump into my car and drive down to sugar records in chicago. Yeah they're going to be in the print edition this november and suga s. h. u. g. a. where that night name come from you know i was. I was very intrigued by that. I'll be honest and tell you. That's probably what caught my attention and So i went down. There met the owner. Adam adam rosen and he tells me that that is his stage name. dj name when he's out dj in in in the in the dancehalls so you just decided to go after his dance. Name or dj name cements where we got sugar records. How long has adam been dj. I don't know how long he's been dj. But i'll tell you that he's been in the record business. For over twenty. One years i started out with the store in minneapolis and then moved to chicago quite some time ago. And he's been at this location for six years jazz while he left. Minneapolis come on in minneapolis. Just get now actually but many actually All jokes aside. Minneapolis has one of the best record and music scenes out there one of my replacements from minneapolis and frances from minneapolis. Who's do and there's some phenomenal bands from minneapolis. But i he just was looking to get into the chicago record landscape and it was interesting. He gave me a. It took him a while to be able to get this going and educated me on something that i did not know in in the city of chicago. Because he is selling used records he had to go out and get a pond license. The city of chicago requires you if you sell us stuff upon license so it took him even longer to open up the store than he had originally expected interesting so he had his odd He was he must have had some connection or something to chicago but Maybe you didn't get to ask them. That didn't go down that road. You speak a road you drove there. So where is milwaukee avenue. He's on milwaukee avenue is it in south chicago. Is it near wrigley. No walkie is some pretty long stream that runs through the heart of chicago. But it's more on the west side of the city. So this record store is considered to be more It's not to say south because it is in the heart of chicago but it's a little on the west side. Let's say back and you emphasized he really set likes to well. He likes to showcase on his wall and likes to sell specifically collectible record. He had some great clock malls ends if the die. He wasn't financing two kids in college. The wanna spend a lot more money but he had it so Things that stood out to me. You know my fleetwood. Mac affiliation always looking to see what rumors for you not have rumors but what he did have was a first edition of behind the mask which was one of those late eighties. Fleetwood mac probably nobody bought. That's now selling for one hundred twenty five dollars because nobody bought it so he had a. He had a men condition food mag behind the mask. He had a european edition of the vinyl rear view window. Which i've not seen pearl jam's review on vinyl. I'd only seen it on cd. And he had that for like ninety nine bucks. And then one of the largest collection of melvin 's card defined forty fives and lp's but not to say that the store because this store what their bread butters really. I think dan's in industrial and hip. Hop and i mean they have a lot of good rock stuff there but a big diverse selection a lot of things. And you said that it's well-staffed. I mean they have fulltime employees and one part timer including the odor. Owner himself at rosen That's that's quite healthy for a record store that really only the owner he on when i was in there there were probably at least four staff working. They are open seven days a week from twelve seven the before talking to adam. I had actually to meet some of the other staff. You know. try to go in there. And say who i am and so i've just their average customer can help me with. This was very helpful. And then i tried tried it over the phone also what i call them in again. Staff was extremely helpful. So i would give the their staff aid. Plus rating and an atom is a owner who is so passionate about everything in anything record. Some just he's one of those guys that you could pull up a chair to sit with and talk with for hours about music. You called him. One of the friendliest owners you've ever met. That's pretty good. It's true that is true. Well i guess being a dj makes sense that he would specialize in dance electronic hip hop industrial. But you do say he has a healthy collectibles and classic rock metal folk and punk so both new and used records But you really want to emphasize those collectibles and that people should definitely check out. I mean like you interviewed the melvin and they said not in stores carry their stuff. Well this.

"K. Welcome back to the gold. Mine podcasts as editor. Patrick prints and podcasts. A proud member of the pantheon group of podcasts. We have a cool podcast episode this week. And it's because it's leading up to the anniversary the fifty second anniversary of woodstock and we have someone who knows woodstock very well longtime goldmine rider. Mike green black. Hey might as going back so mike. We did a podcast episode two years ago and it was the fifty th anniversary woodstock and you had a book coming out maybe could remind listeners. About your book woodstock back to on it's beautiful hardcover book with hundreds of pictures and all kinds of memorabilia and a personal anecdotes about falling in love There's a section of golden bite into the dance but with an incredible list of artists that they wanted to perform in for one reason or another. They couldn't we list those artists and we list the reason they couldn't perform you also list every single artist. The timing they went on the timely went off their set list their personnel and their top five albums. and there's also some some things are set straight also in the book especially the schedule. If you go online you see all different times list it so you guys got the right time of every band you were there so i mean sometimes on asset sometimes not but you were not lucky and i was able to be to interview bill hanley. The godfather of concert sound He really should be in the rock and roll hall of fame and through bill hanley. He turned me onto some of these other guys behind the scenes like professor langhorne at nyu. Who was just an amazing hero woodstock as well as some of the other people even spoke to the guys that were up on stage warning people about the brown acid. I spoke to fans artists managers all kinds of people that were related to woodstock and i must say people are loving. It asked you. Did you speak to the promoters. I did not speak to the promoters. Probably because they had their michael lang had his own book out. Maybe that's why i don't know. what are you saying. Grew quick before we get to. You did a new article for a gold mine which is the best albums of woodstock artists and lists all thirty two artists. You give your best what you think. Their best record is which we'll get to a moment. But i never heard your opinion of the other woodstock events. Nineteen ninety nine and nineteen. Ninety nine was a disaster and michael ninety four and michael lang made excuses about ninety nine. There was a big riot. A big fire is a documentary about it It was not in the same spirit of the original woodstock and personally my opinion is that the whole thing was a disgrace Should not have been called woodstock. It should have been called something else. I don't know you feel. I agree with you. Although the documentary fascinating it is yeah. It was just an event that it it just didn't work fred durst from limp. Biscuit incited a riot telling people to burn stuff telling people to destroy stuff i mean..

"Ooh, that's a song snippet from Brian Bromberg Brian Bromberg, please hendrix album. Of course Hendrix fans will know the song. This is Patrick. Prince. Editor of Goldmine magazine, and this is the goal mine podcast. Proud part of the Pantheon Group of podcasts. And today is well, it's a sombre day as as this is the anniversary of the fiftieth anniversary. Jimi Hendrix passing my personal love for Hendrix goes deep by we're going to talk to a man whose love for Hendrix goes deeper and his jazz basis Brian. Bromberg ten years ago. Brian. Put out an album called Bromberg plays Hendrix the one you just heard a snippet song of. Attribute. It's attributed to the legendary guitars performing covers of his music, the instrumentals that have a prog rock or even hard rock type flavor to them and Bromberg does a fantastic job he. He did a fantastic job with this album. It's just him and a drummer but now he's rereleasing it because he remixed and remastered it with the powerful new track ABON ATTRAC- titled Simply Jimmy. Now Bromberg the reason why? While you have to hear it the reason why he does a fantastic job is like I said, it's just him in a drummer and not only is the traditional bay sound dominant throughout Brandon Plays Piccolo. Bass that represents lead guitar parts in a three hundred year old base for Acoustic backgrounds. There's even stand up bass for the mood. It's really remarkable. I never heard of the album when it was released. Ten years ago. But now through Mac Avenue Music Group like I said it is reissued. So let's hook up with Brian Bromberg to chat about the new album and of course, Jimi Hendrix Brian some interesting tidbits about Jimmy's life and as Brian knows many other jazz musicians, many older jazz musicians in the industry he has improved that Jimmy would have experimented with the Jazz John Rim self. So let's welcome Brian into the conversation. Hey Brian. So, the album plays Hendrix. Even though you released in two thousand ten. was there something about the production you thought it should be released again, remixed and remastered correct. Yeah I you know. I just want to good as they possibly can, and I knew I could do a better job you know and it's it's a really fun record its Arts in it. You know the plan is is really cool. It was just so much fun to do and I just wanted to sound. You know I just wanted to sell it as good as I knew I could make it. You know when I recorded it. I had a completely different rig in the technology has changed so much in ten years I mean it's just ridiculous how fast technology changes. So we were just able to make it sound a lot better from a digital standpoint with You know digital distortion and. Things like that that the human ear doesn't necessarily understand what it's hearing, but it's there. You hear it. You know even though you can't put your finger on it. So basically, it's It's like it's like a really dirty glasses. You can still see, but it's a it's a mess. You clean your glasses. It's like, oh, that's what that's supposed to look like you know basically I just took the I took the blanket off. You know you're cleaning up to sound better. How would you explain now for those who don't know the average listener the difference between remixed and remastered? Well, you do both every record you make you. You know you you have all the parts I mean. You know have car parts of based part. The the vocals singers to keep replaces whatever it is. You have all the parts that you mix them together. So everything is balanced and sounds like a band and. And then when that's when it's mixed, you then do the final stage which takes from that and visit the final Polish that you would do before you made your factor it or to release it it's just another set of issue and compression and You know it's like. You Wash your car and looks great. But then when you buffet and Polish it, it looks amazing. Right that's that's how I would say it just takes one more step up but you know these are really key important procedures that you go through because a good mix and a good mastering can really make record a bad mixing a bad Masri can destroy records It's even though it's the final stages, it's vitally important. In ways the most important thing because it takes, you know it. You know it. It takes what you did and just put it in the finest light. You can't you know. So I I I love that aspect. Of production because it's the final stages in our, you know it sounds like music you just want to Cassandra's good as you. Can. And you won't have as much punch in this much power. You know it's just it's just fun to. It's fun to do the final stage 'cause it's it's It's really powerful. It's amazing. What a little bit of each year. A little bit of compression does it's it's it's it's pretty amazing. The difference I mean night and day you know. Why didn't? I never heard the original two, thousand ten only heard a now quite impressed with the sound. So I didn't have anything to compare it to. What would be the? Bad. It's just you know. This, has just been. You know we did the best we could with what we had it. This is this is just warmer fatter louder rounder more air You know less knows less. It's just more space because the. digitals WANNA know ones, and zero's it's it's it's very unforgiving. It's like you hit a wall. You know there's no. Analogue is. Has No ceiling largest. It's just you know it's like it just it reproduces whatever it gets. Digital has a ceiling of frequencies and things like that, and you you need to work within the limits of hard. Binary math and turn it into something musical. That's why take sounds better. You know what vital records sound better because it's epilogue expat warm and lovely you know digital has been usually Ritalin pin is getting better..
