"Thank you for having me, Kai. So can we start with the premise that I just offered there? I mean, do you agree with this idea that we've all been reminded of the remarkable power of the presidential pulpit and shaping the American conversation all the way down to our dinner tables right in the trump era. I don't think I can say I've ever seen a president use it to make a sustained affirmative case case for pluralism in America. Do you agree with that? Absolutely. I have never seen it and I'm a political junkie and I come from a civil rights family and I've been involved in politics served in the Clinton administration for three years. Watch president's constrained By American politics evade discussing race. Racism, white supremacy. And here we have Joe Biden, who ran and centered racial justice. You know when he announced, he said, You know his battle for the soul of America, this language that was in every major speech he made. Um, you know, he talked about Watching what happened in Charlottesville, and that's really what motivated him to run on it Bottom. It was a plea for unity of purpose across boundaries of race. Andre s. Oh, yes, it's it's a watershed and and it wasn't just language. You know, I'm a policy walk, and I spent time reading. Joe Biden and Pamela Harris is pot platform, and I had never seen before such deep specifics of how they were going to address racial inequity and racial justice and the racial wealth gap. No. So it was refreshing and something new and you know it. But I do also don't want to dismiss the language part because I just wonder about this, making the argument for the idea that pluralism and a multi racial society is good for everybody. I mean, what is what is your measure of President Biden and his Ability to do that coming. So if he said he has said, OK, that's what he's gonna do. What is your measure of his ability to actually do it over the over the coming years? Well, let's stick with language for a second and and and and let's let's stick with the idea. In order to get policy done. You do have to build A political majority for for what you're trying to do. So he was going through education and you know, refreshingly talking about our history so that that's the beginning of I've of setting the precedent for for new and inclusive policies, but hey was also are Doing for this basic radical idea on it reminds me of the radical Republicans of reconstruction that People of all colors in this country deserved to be participants in democracy, not Justus voters, but also to run for office and be fully actualized citizens. That shape policy that bring all people along, So I think he was speaking to political, aspirin's t, you know, and and let's be honest. Every Um, politician in this country who Runs for statewide or national office faces a basic architecture of American politics. A solid majority of whites tends to vote Republican and a solid Majority of people of color. Asian Americans latte next Native American black people. Tend to vote Democratic, and every politician has to choose. You know how to deal with that basic architecture's so Biden was speaking..

Florida and other states to monitor closely this Election Day

"State I am going to be watching is obviously going to be Florida. Now. Florida's governor, Ron De Santis. It came out this morning on Fox and friends and said, We expect Florida to be called for Donald Trump very, very quickly. This jibes with what I'm seeing. In the early vote, Democrats went into Election Day 2016 with a 96,000 vote advantage in early voting. This year, obviously much much difference because of covert 19. Republicans trim that, too, for 1000 votes. Now we know this because you got partisan ballots, so Republican votes almost invariably vote for Republicans. Democrats almost invariably vote for Democrats, although there is expected to be slightly bigger crossover Democrats voting for Trump, then Republicans voting for Joe Biden, as evidenced by the fact that Trump got 94% support in the Republican primary, which was by far a record. In all voting right now. Polls have been open for a couple of hours in Florida. And all types of voting early voting in person voting. There are 9000 more Republican ballots that have been returned than Democrat ballots. Now there are a whole lot of independence. People don't have to register is either a Republican or a Democrat. You can register as an independent. Independence. When doing this kind of analysis, just assume they're going to break pretty much 50 50. It's rare that independence break for a certain candidate, though we do have a lot of evidence that late breakers in Florida late breakers in Pennsylvania and late breakers pretty much in every swing state are in fact breaking towards President Trump, but it's not going to be some statistically massive. Number like 66%. If 66% of independents break for President Trump this race is going to be called by about 10:30 P.m. central time. I don't anticipate that happening, nor do I anticipate that this is set in stone. Trump's gonna win. He's going to win Florida. It's all over. But the shouting what I am saying is this is very good news. This is why on common sense Central right now. I've got an article entitled. It appears that Democrats are doing poorly and early voting here in Wisconsin. It looks like we don't have definitive numbers, but we do have a data set. That suggests that President Trump's voters are over, performing not only in the early vote, but now as we're seeing, Ah, whole lot of enthusiasm, a whole lot of lines in Trump heavy areas. We're seeing data that's encouraging. None of this should be taken as gospel because I'm just giving you a look at the numbers as I see them. I'm giving you a look at the facts on the ground as I see them and the facts on the ground or that one campaign sounds very, very confident and where they are. The other campaign is taking the relatively Unprecedented step campaign. Look, campaigning does happen on Election day. It's very rare that you see a campaign going to this many different swing areas on Election day as the Biden campaign has got, you got two stops for Joe Biden in Pennsylvania. You've got Pamela Harris going to Detroit, Michigan, indicating that they're very worried about turnout in Detroit, specifically amongst black voters. You've got Jill Biden going to Florida. She's also I believe going to Georgia and you've got Camilla Harris is husband. Also going to a swing state in Ohio if Florida is called early, and if Florida increases its margin for President Trump Remember it was Florida specifically Hillary Clinton's under performance in Miami Dade County. That was an early indicator four years ago that President Trump was going to do a lot better than the polls suggested that he would. Florida is going to be an early indicator again, as is North Carolina. If Trump is doing better in those states, typically, the upper Midwest is a little bit farther to the right then Florida and North Carolina, so you can probably anticipate that he's going to be doing better in Pennsylvania. In Ohio in Wisconsin. I would also be looking for Ohio, Ohio has gone a deeper shade of red. If that starts to go even deeper red, then you're going to know that upper Midwestern. Specifically, rural voters are going to trump in bigger margins. And this is what the early trends that President Trump was talking about. On Fox and friends this morning are indicating the early trend lines are that the voter base that the voter makeup this year is far more really. It's far whiter. It's older, and it's less likely to have a college degree than in 2016. Who do you suppose that favors? If the average voter is a 57 year old white male with a high school diploma who lives about 50 miles from the nearest big urban center. Who do you think that guy is most likely to vote for. Again. This doesn't indicate demographics are not destiny. Please remember that today. If you remember nothing else, remember that demographics are not destiny. The makeup of the voter base is another good sign. But it doesn't mean this race is over the behavior of the two campaigns the relative confidence of President Trump, whose campaign has presented actual data to suggest that hey, we've not only have Ah, pathway to victory, but it's It's looking increasingly likely even Mohr increasingly likely than four or five days ago that we're going Be able to take that path to the campaign. That's Oh, my goodness. We've got to get out here. We've got to get out here and we've got to get out here.

"It's three minutes after eight o'clock. There's a story in the news this morning. It's really important. Especially right now, and it took us a little while to figure it out. We're just going to take us a little while to try to explain it to you. Well, it's very convoluted. You know, one of those court things where there's you know, an exemption and write a a ruling appealing and putting it on, you know, so any rate of bottom line is you go to the polls. If you're gonna go vote within the next couple that you are supposed to wear a mask. Until the court changes their minds again. So we'll try to explain that company and even some of the election, County leaders are not sure about the policy and they're asking for clarification on the whole thing. Pamela Harris will be somewhere in Fort Worth tomorrow, at some point sometime We don't know where Currently she's keeping it a secret that she should go to Cooper's barbecue. If you were coming on to be for the Trump campaign, that would be news. That would be big news. So I apologize on behalf of the Biden campaign. Let me ask, Let me ask you a question A couple of questions during the debate the the thing that came up about fracking. Do you think that's going to hurt Biden in some of those states that he needs the swing states because he's talking about fracking that that came up again about moving away eventually from fossil fuels? Does that hurt the campaign? You know, I don't think so. And that come from this and the granddaughter of an iron are minor mining in northern Minnesota. Different not fracking, but really important, And I think Joe's made really clear that he believes is not against fracking, and that Wracking will continue. He just wants to make sure it's safe. So and then there was questioned about oil. I think that you're also getting at, and I think he made very clear He was talking about subsidies and that you know, and I think in Arizona, you guys know the strength of renewable energy and Stoller and what you've got there. I visited some of it myself. So It's pretty impressive. You also do know there's a lot of Minnesotans thatjust happened to live in your state, right? "Issues that goes about half an inch deep, and it does not go a mile wide. Here was Susan Page, unintentionally finishing Kamala Harris on the Green New Deal. Vice president. Biden said in last week's debate that he does not support the green new deal. If you look at the Biden Harris Campaign website, it describes the green ordeal as a crucial framework. Joe believes again in science. We have seen a pattern with this administration, which is they don't believe in science. And Joe's plan is about saying we're going to deal with it, but we're also going to create jobs. You were the first Senate co sponsor of the Green New deal, while Joe Biden denied the Green New deal. Susan thank you for pointing out the green new deal is on their campaign website. Okay, there's a reason that Pence kept hammering home on the green and yellow green. A deal is a debacle. Is spending by OSI's bland some $93 trillion over 10 years. So he hammered the green of the other thing you mentioned Agree no deal. 15 times. And correctly so So another issue on which pens just excoriate her then and they got to the issue of China. So both candidates were asked about China. Kamala Harris had no answer other than to say, and she really said this, she said that she's in pain was more popular internationally than Donald Trump. Okay, First of all, the image of China around the world has been in steady decline, as it should be, because it's a tyrannical hellhole. "Moesha, So I only hope that we have put to bed this very idea that the vice presidential debate was high stakes. This was, of course nonsense. From the very beginning, it can't be high stakes. It's a vice president will debate literally. Mike Pence would have had to have stood up Moon the audience and said, What do you think of that folks? In order for us to be like, Well, who that was unexpected. The only thing unexpected in this debate was the fly. Tony Katz 93. W E. B C Good morning. Great to be with you. Yes, A fly did land on Mike Pence's head, and the fly was there for about two minutes. And already the fly has raised $3.2 million for its election like that was the that was behave. That's peculiar, because Mike's got that, Mike because, you know we're that close. The vice president has that crazy white hair and it was just it was just there. It was just there hanging. I think someone times in the two minutes that it was just there. And of course, the roof flies on him. You know, it's the end of times. And then someone went back to find the 2016 debate where there was a fly in Hillary. These things happen, and that's all there is to it. A bird once took a crap on me. When I was at the Western wall in Jerusalem and Israel, these things happen. That's the best I could tell you. The debate isn't everything I thought it would be. I was actually expecting a little more of the high end almost history onyx of Pamela Harris not come, and that's to her credit. For sure she does a better job of connecting emotionally than Mike Pence. Anyone does a better job of connecting emotionally. And then Mike Pence. It's just not where Mike Pence lives and breathes and everybody knows it. But as we said yesterday, Mike Pence's unflappable You knew exactly what you were going to get. Did he pivot back to law and order? Absolutely. Did he pitch it back to President Trump Leading America? Absolutely positive. It was as easy to see is the nose on your face. He did exactly what it is. We thought hey, would do so if you're asking about the total debate and winners. Look, I think that Mike Pence Answered many more questions, then comma Harris. I don't know exactly what you're saying here but in regards to Kamala Harris Dawn there was a point in there. Where She was talking about the prices for goods have risen because of Donald Trump's failure with China. She said that tonight Andi made me think that you know, I got my window coverings, and I talk about this all the time on when I do my ads for American River flowing, I get my window coverings from American River flooring, right? Dawn between this window covering that one of you. Plus, I order this one of covers he goes, you know. You could get American made. These were made in China. The one they picked. I didn't know that. But he says you can get these made in America 1%. The entire process is made in America. And this is when the virus things first started happening, and he says You can get these in a couple of weeks, maybe three versus four months from China, because, and this is the direct directly related to the terrorists placed upon China by this president, and so it made the products that were made in this country easier to get in there. They're extremely great quality and the prices were less expensive, so I disagree when she said, Now I can't say that's a blanket statement across the board for all products Dawn, but that was my experience. Because Pamela Harris is really going to display that The demonic woman that she is, well well, when I'll give you the answer to that, even though it sounds like it was rhetorical, and I appreciate the call. The fact of the matter is maddeningly. There are a fair percentage of voters who sometimes vote Republican and sometimes vote Democrat and they sort of make their decision in the heat of the moment based on the current status of things. Harris on vaccine: 'I would not trust Donald Trump'

"There's more debate over a possible vaccine for Corona virus before the election. The White House's insisting political motivations won't play into the race to develop a Corona virus vaccine. This comes as the CDC notified states to be ready to distribute one toe high priority groups as soon as November, 1st two days before the election. The date has raised concerns among many that the fast track approval will come at the expense of the public safety as President. Trump continues to tell the vaccines arrival while campaigning for his reelection. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer remains a skeptic, saying there's too much evidence pointing to the Trump administration pressuring the FDA to approve a vaccine by Election Day. The Democratic vice presidential nominee is not saying whether she will get a Corona virus vaccine if one's released ahead of Election Day. Pamela Harris says she wouldn't trust President Trump's word that a vaccine was safe and effective. Speaking to CNN, she said, it would have to be from a credible source of information.

This would be the moment when balloons drop and confetti flies through an arena. But Joe Biden is seemingly prepared to greet supporters who have gathered outside in Wilmington, Delaware. A movie drivin type setting. ABC is Alex Stone. Is there, Alex Aaron? It sure seems like that's what's about to happen here. This crowd a couple of 100 strong movie drive in style, they gather hazard lights blinking right now, most are holding up well, look like blue light sabers. I've got light sticks. Now he's walking out on stage. Joe Biden. He's got a mask on Jill Biden. Pamela Harris, her husband, Doug. People in this crowd who have been socially distancing all night. Running up to the front. Here goes the social distancing is they're going up now to try to get pictures. But this crowd intensely listening to what Joe Biden was saying tonight we'll have been quiet inside. It was not quiet out here. It all in the music is now fading. It looks like he may not maybe was going to say something. But now there are fireworks above us above the Chase Center here in Wilmington right now, Joe Biden with his mask on Jill Biden nastiest side holding his arm. "So here is our answer. We will remember in November. When we will elect Joe Biden, president Whose heart is full of love for America and rid the country of Trump's heartless disregard for America's goodness, Joe Bynes, faith and God gives him the courage to lead Jill Button's love gives him the strength to persevere. Joe Biden is the president We need right now. Battle tested forward, looking honest and authentic. He has never forgotten who he is fighting for. Pamela Harris is the vice president. We need right now committed to our Constitution, Brilliant and defending it and a witness to the women of this nation that our voices will be heard. Our mission is to fight for future equal to the ideals of our founders. Our hopes for Children and the sacrifices of our veterans are brave men and women in uniform. And and that is where she's seemed to have a real strengthen the party. You know, I know there's often been questions about her longevity in that role, but it comes back to the fact that Democrats pretty much you know, unanimously agree that she's been Remarkably effective in pushing forth legislation that they want. Do we have a sense of whether Joe Biden would like Nancy Pelosi to remain speaker of the house? Well, I should defer to reporting that my colleagues in Davis has done but she has. She has told us that that that does seem to be the case that they've been long time collaborators and that there is a sense of trust. That the two of them have, in part because a lot of the people that Joe Biden worked with when he was in Congress are no longer there. But Nancy Pelosi still is and, of course, Nancy Pelosi, not afraid to criticize President Trump. Exactly right. And so I do think what he's looking for a collaborator Asmat. Now we're now going to hear from three activists who will be talking about domestic violence. Mariska Marissa Hargitay, an actress Ruth Glenn, CEO and president of the National Coalition against Domestic Violence, and Carly Dryden, who works with the group. When I started doing research to play Detective Olivia Benson on law and order as to you Over 20 years ago, I was shocked to find out how many people including Children. Experience physical or sexual abuse. The statistics fuels my resolve, and I committed myself to the movement to end this violence. My name is Carly Dryden. In my small hometown. I didn't feel like I could speak out about my experience with sexual assault. At the University of Puget Sound. I met an incredible force of people working and the culture of sexual assault. I went from Survivor toe advocate. As the president and CEO of the National Coalition against Domestic Violence. I've seen Joe Biden's passionate leadership in passing the violence against Women Act. Now, domestic violence rates are rising due to this pandemic. We need Congress to reauthorize and enhanced that long. We need leaders who believe that a woman's life is worth fighting for. Joe Biden is that kind of leader. I created the joyful Heart Foundation to help survivors hell, and to change the way our society response to sexual violence. "To start earlier, and I'm just hearing in my ear that there was a There's an issue with the power outage at the school is that what is behind the delay? It certainly could be one of the reasons behind the delay. But we also know that Biden campaign events often are late. We do expect this momentarily. But again, not probably the best roll out the look that they had planned S O. Biden was about an hour. Late to the good news is that Joe Biden didn't notice that Hey, he just called it early Bird dinner. So then Joe Biden finally arrives to introduce Pamela Harris. And he makes it perfectly obvious in the appeal of Camel Harris, namely, she checks all the intersectional boxes waken. I'll be real about this. If Joe Biden had his brothers, he would have chosen somebody who is not common Harris he would have chosen perhaps Amy Klobuchar, with whom he is closed and whose endorsement at the at the sort of tail end of the campaign actually meant an awful lot because it helped shift support behind Biden right before the South Carolina primary. He may have preferred Cory Booker he made for the man, but he box himself into a corner by saying, I need a black woman, basically, and that limited his choices to a bunch of people who are not senators and calm Larry. So Then he's going to use that as a weapon. So is your weapon is here is my VP pick Kamala Harris, a black woman, and if you attack her in any way, it's because she's black and also a woman. That is the only reason that you would be upset with common. Harris is because he's black and also woman. Not that she's a terrible candidate. Not that she's a radical. Not that she's an authoritarian with opportunistic tendencies know the reason you're attacking her is because she's black hole. Donald Trump has already started his attacks, calling.

Who would replace Kamala Harris as California Senator?

"We still have 12 weeks before the November election, Voters will decide between President Trump on my vice President Mike Pence against former Vice President Joe Biden and current Democratic vice presidential nominee California Senator Kamala Harris. But in Harris are victorious. Governor Newsome will have to appoint a new senator to serve the next two years here in California, and well, there's been early speculation on names like State Attorney General Javier Becerra and San Diego State Senator Toni Atkins. Another elected officials told the governor he's interested. Mayor of Imperial Beach Search, the DEA sent a note to the governor with a picture of him in a business suit with a surfboard and water, nothing his intention to seek the appointments If the Democrats win because Pamela Harris may become our next vice president, I notified Governor Newsome like everyone does not is via Twitter that I'd like to be on the collection left to be the next U. S. Senator put out Open seat. And I think it's important to have someone who's not from the insider circle in Sacramento on someone that's ready to help clean up California and fight for our planet and our ocean from day one. Well and yes, I think it was the announcement that color base attention picture of you in a business suit with your surfboard. Right. The water's edge. Kind of embodying what it means to be from Imperial Beach. Yeah, you know, and you're a bitch, maybe small. What? We're mighty, You know, I've seen the names of some of the more high profile candidates and you know the reality of California's in trouble countries in trouble, And so we need someone who's used to doing things without a lot of resource is gonna support. You could get things done quickly, and that's experience. I've had thereby be in that experience that we need for the next senator from California and as the native Senate, California someone who rested 500 California the lifeguard for the state and for the city of Baby, I'm ready for the job and just look forward to being considered by Governor Newsome. Well, obviously you've worked with the governor, and in fact, you've worked as high as going to the White House when it comes to the sewage issue along the border, with the issues coming out of Mexico to impact San Diego County Imperial Beach, the city of San Diego. Everywhere else here with its impact that profile of yours with that fight has gone to the highest level. Yeah, so you know, unfortunately, because sewage issue is continuing to happen. I ve had to reach out from everybody from the president of Mexico, too. You know, President Trump We've met Got Governor knew someone. The governor of Baja California. So yeah, felt the times were like more like an international diplomat rather than a mare. But that is good practice good experience for what it takes to be an effective senator. To give you credit. Since the minute she was in office, she has support our first queen of the border. She's put a lot of attention on period Beach. In fact, her California director came to Imperial Beach to visit her stop is in very involved in this issue, so she's been great on the tissue as well as Senator Feinstein, but it's time for a new direction and and that's what I'm putting My My name in the hat or handed the ring And you know there is a perception out there at some points where you know, San Diego geographically being where it is. So we feel that the state of times may forget about us or things like that. You know, putting San Diego right back up there and kind of raising our hand and saying, Hey, what about us? Yeah, you know, Right now we have two senators from Northern California from the Bay area, So obviously we need a lot more Southern California repetition and the fact that Southern California needs a lot of help. We've seen that during this covert Christ of some of the highest rates, obviously in the country in Southern California, especially here in South San Diego and along the border, So we're in trouble have the highest rate of unemployment in the state along the borderlands question. Imperial County so We're in trouble. We need to get someone to replace Senator Harris. She gets elected vice president who's fighting for California and every California and not just the ones who can write campaign checks, right? I think that's important to make sure that someone who works for every California In every corner of state and every family and put families and kids first for California

NAACP's Sheley Anderson recognizes Senator Kamala Harris’ appointment to major party ticket as a 'monumental moment' in U.S. history

"The presidential race now kicks into high gear. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be formally nominated at the Digital Democratic National Convention next week. Almost Tammy Natasa has local reaction to the selection of Harris's Biden's vice presidential running mate. The world watched as California Senator Kamala Harris appeared with Joe Biden for the first time. As the first black American and South Asian American woman nominated for vice president of the United States. Some voters we talked to say they hope 55 year old energize young voters as Joe Biden's running mate. Other voters say it also shows two people differences on the campaign trail can come together. Chili Anderson, the regional vice president. Says this moment is monumental. She believes it's paving the way for young women, minorities and immigrants. Toe have a seat at the decisionmaking table, she says. Our entire country should be celebrating. We want to actually be able to hold the position where historically Black women just simply want welcomed, write. You can always be the prize. Maybe, but never the bride. Right Come. Pamela Harris just got engaged. And so all people need to be celebrating right now. Because this is good for America. This is for all of America. Activists say the road will be challenging for Harris with all the racial and personal attacks, but they believe She has the resilience to fight it.

"And starting with what we condone. On day one around public lands, right? And then there has to be legislation. But yes, And this is something I've taken on in California have a history of working on this issue and to your point On. You know that we have to just acknowledge that the residual impact of fracking is enormous in terms of the impact on the health and safety of communities. Well, I mean, yeah, Fracking is really a danger to communities like you know all the communities with hundreds of thousands of people reliance on the fracking industry. It's a bold move Cotton. It's a bold move. Also, she says that we need to incentivise Americans D Let's meet so good luck with that. I think this is gonna go great. For Joe Biden. Again so much moderation just spilling from the lips of Pamela Harris here. That the balance that we have to strike here frankly, is about what government can and should do around creating incentives and then banning certain behaviors. I mean, just to be very honest with you. I love cheeseburgers from time to time, right? I mean, I just do And I think that but there is, but there has to be also what we do in terms of Creating incentives that we will eat in a healthy way that we will encourage moderation and that we will be educated about the effect of our eating habits on our environment, and we have to do a much better job of that on the government has to do a much better job of that. Get up. Let's let's um let's meet guys also, let's ban plastic straws. You sure you didn't mean to do anything? Anything? That's what you said about plastic. She she's like, Yeah, the plastic struts won't hear some hysterical Kamala Harris laughter. It's been like a solid few minutes since we played comma Harris laughing hysterically and awkwardly when she realized what you saying is kind of crazy. Here is I Kamila here's laughing crazily about plastic straws. Do you ban plastic straws? I think we should. I mean, look, I'm going to be honest, It's really difficult to drink out of a paper straw when you had If you're just like, if you don't gulp it down immediately, it starts to bend. And then you know, the little thing catches it and then you know, so we gotta find perfect that one a little bit advantage but rely on innovation way Got innovation is a process right? You don't just Do it. Innovation is a process. But, you know, let's let's encourage innovation. And I think we could do a little bit better than some of those flimsy plastic straws, but we need to bend. And by the way, I do love that that Erin Burnett That's Erin Burnett correct. Who's that? Who's that? Reporters? I I believe that Erin Burnett correct. I don't want to screw up the name of the Of the reporters, So I'm going to look this up just to ensure that I'm correct. Yeah, That's Erin Burnett. So Erin Erin Burnett. I love her just feeding the line to comma Harris. So you're gonna ban plastic trust but Reliant innovation? Yeah, that's exactly what she was saying. Know what actually happened There is that Kamala Harris was like I want to ban plastic straws. And then she realized halfway through that the replacement straws are absolute crap. Instead. She's like, but they're really bad. The replacement straws but I still want to ban them. Seven authoritarian jerk, But you know they're really bad. And so remember, It's like innovation. Innovation from from offstage left, Klein is innovation. I was like, Yeah, innovation, but you know, it's a process guys again. Man. Get ready. Years of that coming up years. Years if you wins years. The don't worry if you're concerned that maybe a lot of this is going to cost money. Maybe this is bad policy. We have been reliably informed by common Harris. The policy is not about cost guys policy is not about cost policy is about the principle behind the thing. Where is Kamala Harris, explaining We should pay no attention to the fact that things cost money money is just a figment of your imagination. Just an idea out there. The really big issue is whether we should be ambitious, ambitious and hopeful here. She was being like money. What's that? Why should I care about that is on my money. But you do it. Policy and cost $3 trillion a year for Medicare for all by some studies. I don't depending on which portions of the green noodle you picked to do First. That's money that you know what the Republicans going to say, Tax and spend liberals pie in the sky. One of the things that I admire and respect is the measurement. That is captured in three letters are alive. What's the return on the investment? People in the private sector understand this really well. It's not about a cost. It's about an investment. And then the question should be Is it worth the cost? In terms of the investment potential? Are we going to get back more than we put in that? That's really what it's about. Don't worry about the cost guys. Cost is of no consequence was heard, by the way how radical is coming here? So that time I said that she's really willing to, like, say or like a few minutes ago and said she's basically willing to say or do anything to get ahead and I talked about a prosecutorial record and how they're a lot of people on the left and on sort of libertarian, right? You're upset with the fact that she was very much in favor of jailing low level drug offenders. By the way again. I've lived in California in my entire life. The crime richer have been not great for a very long time, and she was a very little help is attorney general of the state of California. Well, she was specifically asked the other day about de funding in the LAPD, So she has not come out full scale in embrace you from the police, but she was very much in favor of cutting the funding to the Los Angeles Police Department in the aftermath of riots that shut down the city of Los Angeles night a night for a week. Entire county of L. A shutdown at six PM for weeks that writers and looters could have their way with local footlocker and commoners want on national TV and said, We should probably cut funds to the job. Don't Don't worry, guys. She's a radical she is. She's not a radical..

Impact of Biden's Choice of Kamala Harris as Running Mate

"Just dividing Picking California Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate. Let's get the what this might mean for the Democrats as they head into November for the election. Marty Shankar, chief content officer for Bloomberg News, joins US Marty. Thanks so much for joining us here. What's your initial takeaway of Kamala Harris as Joe Biden's running mate? Well, I think you know, and it's been spoken about all morning and yesterday afternoon. It's a historic pick. She is the first Whom the person of color to be on a major ticket advice. Presidential candidate and you know, it solidifies what some Think was a somewhat of a vulnerability for Joe Biden. That's with the with the black voters. And I think that you know it was an excellent choice. Well, Marty, you say that. But will there be any pushback from black voters given her record on criminal justice reform and as a prosecutor Yeah, You know, I think that's been a problem for her. If this came out Bloomberg another George stories about her role in as attorney general in California. Oh, and as a district attorney in San Francisco. She has Been criticized for being Dick really aggressive in her prosecutions and resisting remuneration for those wrongly prosecuted, But that was you know, decades ago. Um, I think that you know, it will be a line that GOP uses against her and they've already started. Um, but I think her attributes will probably be able to overcome those What do you think This means? This ticket here the way this potential campaign may unfold in the next couple of months means for financial markets here. Well, you know, I think the important thing you know no one's really talking about it. But Pamela Harris and Joe Biden. Their policies really are dependent on what happens in the Senate if the Senate remains in Republican hands. They're going to have a really hard time getting any of their policies through so I think the focus really needs to be on those important Senate races, their number of them That were supposedly safe for Republicans who are now in tossup territory. And I think place like main on Arizona. So you I think that that's really going to be a pivotal thing for markets. But I do think that if you didn't see it the other day, Ed in the former editor in chief of Barons wrote a piece in The Wall Street Journal saying that Biden presidency is going to be great for markets. Yeah, absolutely. And I think you know, market participants are already saying that we had marked as Reon yesterday. Who, you know, obviously. Is it a financier, too? The Biden campaign and so he obviously was very pleased with the comma Harris choice to It would have been his choice. Marty, what happens between now and November in the sense that Joe Biden can be a little bit unpredictable? Is there a way that he could throw this? Well, you know, when people asked the what my thoughts are on the election coming up by continually say it's Joe Biden's to lose. And there is and I think the debates coming up the three debates and the debate the vice presidential debate this just one could have A really important role in how this election place out. So yes, Bonnie. It's quite possible that Joe Biden could say something or perform. Poorly and that may have a real impact on the race, which, despite the polls, I believe is pretty close. Marty, How do you think these candidates for the president and Vice President Biden How will they campaign over the next several months is it just could be a serious of television interviews and things like that? Yes, And I think you know, like today they will do a a century a small audience of participants so she'll be distant with I'm sure with mass And that's the way it's going to be until November. I mean, Donald Trump certainly would like to make it a more on the GOP side. Would liketo have his huge rallies, But I don't think that's gonna happen, so it's going to be as usual and unprecedented campaign. Virtual events on on video and that actually made Plato Bidens and ban it because he's much better in Hello. Prompted characters rather than life. Yeah, Marty, what makes you say that? You think it's closer than the polls suggest right now? What votes? Is the pole missing? Well, you know, we did a story about a theory that when potential voters are speaking to Pollsters. They may say that they are voting for the Democrat when in fact they are going to vote for Trump. I think that the There is this phenomenon and people just not willing to tell what they're That they support Donald Trump to pollsters. So I do think that there's that element of undercounting Trump's support. Fascinating. It's going to be just amazing. Several months. It feels like every presidential election in the United States brings up some new constitutional challenges and debates and difficulties, and this one's going to be no different. "He is fronting on Gerry McNamara eight six six ninety right I was going to Andrew in Phoenix and welcome you're on reddit radio welcome to the show high thank you the you're on the air yeah well I was just thinkin that I thank god your body needs to pick somebody young is the vice president maybe energized the the democratic party a little bit there the actually alluded to that a few weeks ago at a campaign stop he said I'm gonna need somebody who is strong and ready and capable of being the president because I'm an old guy and people in the room laughing he said no I'm being serious so he's actually talked about that in terms of energizing the campaign I think that's already been pre set I think you see with Pamela Harris coming out over the weekend I think the party is polling in pretty much all hands on deck approach right now to prop Joe up I think that's exactly what they're trying to do let's let's have people you know more circuits out there for him so the focus on him and of course his flubs I will not be as great you have you know mayor Pete with the endorsement right after he dropped out of the club which are the same thing Baixo in taxes and all of this you know spells yes younger people surrounding him as as surrogates trying to make it again I look like a more energized campaign now Biden himself last week and thank you Andrew for the most part was more energized but I think probably it came out of a bit of a shock it was probably his his performance on super Tuesday that was re energizing him personally and and kind of woke him up because they they had to be seeing some of those internals of just a few weeks before we're showing just a dismal performance on super Tuesday and many questions and now all of the momentum is in his corner but that is definitely the party is doing well and and with the fall of burning by his own doing now you have you you add those two up and I think the math is becoming clearer and I see that Sanders out over the weekend while the establishment in clover sharp and I'm like you're on the wrong path yeah that's gone that's it the establishment that that's not working right now the reason you can't be president is because even.
