New York Times Reports Ghislaine Maxwell Charged With Sex Trafficking of 14-Year-Old Girl

Don't prosecutors accusing her of grooming a 14 year old girl to engage in sexual acts with Mr Epstein and later paying her A new federal indictment filed in Manhattan charge that on multiple occasions between 2001 and 04, the girl provided nude massages to Mr Epstein at his estate in Palm Beach, Florida. During which he engaged in sexual acts with her. The new charges against Maxwell go further than those contained in an earlier indictment that accused her of helping Mr Epstein recruit groom and ultimately sexually abused girls, but did not include sex trafficking allegations. Now those charges have been included. Senator Ben Sasse, who's a Republican from Nebraska. He's been really demanding. Action in this case and accountability in this case, he put out a statement last night. Quote. This is good news. All of Epstein's co conspirators and especially Ghislaine Maxwell should be prosecuted to the fullest, his fullest extent of the law. She knows the depth of Epstein's sick crimes and the DOJ ought to do everything he can to keep her alive. Yes, considering what happened with Epstein himself and bring her to justice. Wealth and power cannot overcome the law. These human traffickers must pay for their crimes and quote and amen to every word of that. Finally, some movement on Ghislaine Maxwell in this absolutely Sickening and also bizarre, mysterious case.

"On this Monday. I am just back from Palm Beach, Florida. Yes, the same Palm Beach where former President Donald Trump is holed up in his estate. And it was an interesting weekend. I didn't talk to the president, but I zoom by Mara Lago, and you can't get close to it. The secret service everywhere. But I believe that Mr Trump will hold up for a while. I hope he doesn't say anything. He needs to cool things down. Let Joe Biden's policies on full because this is the on Lee chance for Donald Trump's rehabilitation. So right now, most Americans are telling the pollsters that Mr Trump's reputation is damaged, and I think that is true. But Joe Biden has got pretty interesting theories about how to run this country and I do not believe they're going to be successful. Three areas immigration, you're going to see a surge off foreign born people trying to get across the southern border. Number two. The cancel culture, which is just vicious and cruel. Mr Biden hadn't said a word and number three. The economy already. Gas prices are going up fast because the oil companies know they're going to get pounded. So they're stockpiling cash from you and me so all Donald Trump has to do is keep quiet and let things unfold. Now this As you know, Joe Biden won the election and the economic future in the country is a bit cloudy..

Trump pardons Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Charles Kushner

"Trump parted another batch of loyalists including Roger Stone and Paul Manafort tonight. Charles Kushner, the father of Mr Trump's son in law. Jared Kushner also had his legal record wiped. The president made this new batch of clemencies just after leaving the White House for Mar A Lago in Palm Beach, Florida ABC News Political director Rick Klein joined W. T. O P s Dmitri Sodas to take a deeper look at those pardons, stunning series of names, the kind of list that you can't imagine any other president ever. Compiling about a month before he leaves office. These are political loyalists of the father of his own son in law, Jared Kushner, among them in Paul Manafort, Roger Stone to individuals who remained loyal through some very tough legal times. They really brought upon themselves the president clearly using his power now, on the way out the door to reward loyalists in ways that would be unfathomable. You know the any other administration. This is not The normal channel or the normal course of business. These are not people that would have been pardoned, or Heather senses committed by any other president, but saying oil to President Trump has paid off for them. Can we talk about the Mueller investigation as sprawling and wide ranging as it was essentially being undone here? Is that my my overreaching or is that correct? I think the president is systematically taking away the accomplishments and undermining The very real prosecutorial work that they accomplished particularly with the Paul Manafort conviction. I think the Roger Stone one probably fits into this is well, you had a office inside the Department of Justice that was very aggressively looking for things that were prosecutable, and they found them in many cases, and now the president is coming out and saying This whole thing was Was a witch hunt from the start. And that's That's what his former national security adviser, or, you know, already the beneficiary of one of these pardons one of these computations and I think yes, I think anything associated with Mueller, the president is more inclined than most to say. This is something that I can undo with this pardon power we have heard in recent months. Defenders of the president point to the sheer numbers that is that other presidents maybe take Bill Clinton as an example, may have actually pardoned more people in the end and that President Trump should Not be criticized for using one of the few powers that a president can wield. Shall we say unilaterally, and he can use it, But I think the criticism is very much justified when you realize that this is not the normal process where people petitioned for the Department of Justice, you get a recommendation not to say that other presidents have never used political loyalties, particularly Bill Clinton in the past, But we remember times were Where there was outward lobbying on George W. Bush for Scooter Libby from his own Vice President Dick Cheney. He's still resisted and said, No, I'm not gonna issue that pardon. Actually, he was pardoned ultimately, by President Trump similar for Barack Obama. He did not consider pardons that that would have that kind of personal connection. They went up to the Department of Justice. The president has this part in power, he can use it. It's one of the few unchecked, unchallenged powers, but it's clear that President Trump is using it specifically to single out people that have been loyalty to him to pay off political patron's political donors, people in his own family. It may be setting up the ultimate pardons, which would be potentially pardons of people in the inner inner circle and maybe in his own family. There are partners on the way out the door of his sons of his daughter, Ivanka, maybe of himself. That would be the ultimate tell and truly without precedent. That's ABC News political director Rick Klein, who joined us on Skype.

S. agents virus hit us what I would like to know is how many of those people really died from the virus or something else like old age well it's impossible to know Hank because each individual hospital files a death certificate the statistics from the centers for disease control in Atlanta say about eighty percent of the fatalities are folks over the age of sixty five and of everybody who contracts because of it less than three percent die in the USA Lucy all Asian west Palm Beach Florida do you or your staff bill ever investigate conspiracy theory is concerning people like FAO chief gates Soros at cetera there are many and some of them are disturbing Lucille I never spend time on conspiracy stuff I am a hundred percent fact based now if you present a fact to me or is she you say it's a fact I'll check it but it better be there and stone I wrote the book killing Kennedy about the assassination of JFK and there are no more conspiratorial theories that in that incident nineteen sixty three but we used a fact based approach and I think that's the best book ever written on JFK's death Jim Knox Jacksonville North Carolina bill U. S. said many times if we don't reopen or if the kids don't get back to school president trump might lose because people will vote based on their emotions and they'll be angry and over trump supporters do not and will not blame the president for the pandemic or the economy I estimate about thirty three percent of Americans will not vote for trump for any reason Jim your stats are a bit low there but I will tell you that the mood of the nation will mean who wins and loses in November if the economy is on the upswing if the pandemic is tamped down Donald Trump is a good chance and the bookies the people take money betting on the election have him out in front of Joe Biden but all of the polls have the former vice president beating Donald Trump and the president's approval rating on the pandemic is going down that could turn around quickly pulls right now I don't mean very much but if things don't turn around Donald trump's got a hard time in November okay this comes from June in Louisville Kentucky well I totally agree about voting by mail it should not happen if people can stand in line at stores they can stand a laudable I agree a hundred percent June too much potential for corruption I'm bill Riley and I approve.

"Bloomberg more than seventeen million in Minnesota but I did spend just six thousand dollars while Bloomberg dropped more than twelve million and with the disappointing results Tuesday night reports say Bloomberg will re assess the future of his campaign Margaret Millar ABC news west Palm Beach Florida yeah that's interesting I don't know what Bloomberg's unity I don't know what warrants you to do because let's be real to not just Bloomberg but warned not just Bloomberg but Warren came in third in her own state so her home state she came in third Byton didn't even fly over Massachusetts anyone she came in third that says a lot I don't know here's the thing I do believe that war is going to continue she's got a town hall out here in Arizona on and I think it is Saturday or Sunday right so she is going to continue moving forward by the looks of it I don't know why I don't know what kind of money she has she doesn't seem like she's giving up just yet I don't know what she thinks is going to happen but there's no doubt that she you know it was not a good night for her at all it wasn't it was not a good night she has struggled mightily she's continuing to go on by by the looks of it and remember warrants people aren't necessarily Bernie's people the majority of the lord's people pick booty judge as their second man warns people tacular day when I said with booty cheese cake but the race is this help the most and I didn't put Warren they're like use don't understand I'm I'm waiting for you guys where are you she's a non factor I mean it's it's she is she is she came in third third third in your own home state third now does she keep going there she said herself let's see if this thing's going to be a contested convention a brokered convention where I maybe I'll have some sway maybe I can I can what seat because think about this for a second let's just say gives the sixteen hundred and fourteen hundred and she's able to amass you know five six hundred delegates along the way she could have the opportunity to get in there and potentially sway that maybe put herself on the take right possibility so there's a lot of jockeying going on right now but Bloomberg he's got all the money in the world he can stick this thing out for as long as he wants to stick this thing out I don't know how long that's going to be maybe it's maybe today again he reassess as he looks at her and at the same time he's just three weeks ago this is like a smart play because he didn't feel Joe was going to be it right look I totally understand that right Joe struggled mightily Jody I think Bloomberg's looking at can I pick enough off so I can become a player because I still don't know if anybody's gonna get to that threshold they need to get the nomination without there being a brokered convention I just don't know if that's going to happen I think he's really looking at a few of the other things along the way but I tell you what eight it's just it's ugly it has not been good at all for him and so much that is the fact that it was like let's just say for the sake of argument Bloomberg had any personality whatsoever any person out he had a little piss and vinegar like Bernie maybe had some personality like Joe I think he would be a player but when he got on that stage that night in the Vatican he was as dull as it comes he was a whipping boy for for Elizabeth Warren and he got his **** whooped and he has not been the same a little bit better the next one but he's just so a lot of money to be the president of American Samoa by the way tells the ever got one we were laughing about that I'm glad the vice presidents okay this is been the most impressive seventy two hours I've ever seen in American politics he came back he came back impressive wins in states that even thing Joe Biden had a presence Massachusetts Minnesota called mention the delegates tonight you should put one up for Tulsi she got in American Samoa OKC very very please call six I appreciate that because I got to be fair yeah she's supposed to be in the next debate so we'll see I still I don't even know what she's doing like this you just leaving herself and they're hoping because she's on some of these things that to pick up some delegates along the way there's no reason not to right Mizell Mizell right to stay out as long as possible three two three five three eight twenty four twenty three hatch events and shows your Twitter feel free to tweet at me so again looking forward next week the tenth you've got Idaho Michigan Mississippi Missouri North Dakota Washington Washington's got eighty nine missions got a hundred and twenty six Missouri's got sixty eight those are the big ones then two weeks from yesterday is a big night Arizona's got sixty seven but the biggies are Florida and you kiss that goodbye from Bernie Illinois will be interesting and Ohio so those will be pretty damn interesting and then the last what it looks like you know you've got a couple decent ones but then the next big in the last real big a few nights is that you know New York where does that go in Pennsylvania but you still have a ways to go I don't think this thing's going to be done anytime soon I think this is a battle that's going to continue to go on moving for three to three five three twenty four twenty three acts have been to chose your Twitter to read a tweet at me so imagine this you're a woman going to vote and your over driver yells something this woman did not like what he said decided she was going to lay down the law this is actually.

"A little earlier. Let's get to the phone lines. Right now, we have John in Palm Beach Florida wants to talk a little Josh Rosen. What's up, John? Hey, ryan. I hope you're doing good. I am thanks for calling. I know being a quarterback you could give me a better assessment about the Rosen kid come to Miami Dolphins. And I'd like you to give me a heart assessment. Do you think this kid can really play or do we gotta wait another ten years or we stuck with a? Another ryan. Guy, right or that. We've had for quarterback for eight years. Right. Thanks for the call, John. I appreciate it. I I like Josh Rosen. All right. I thought he was the most technically fundamentally sound quarterback coming into the draft last year. I had him getting picked by the giants at number two. I thought it was a huge mistake that they didn't get their franchise quarterback after Eli manning to leave. Of course, they got saquon Barkley. We've talked about that. Great running back franchise running backs are not winning Super Bowls franchise quarterbacks are everybody. Okay. And I really do think that you cannot take into what that season looked like a year ago in Arizona. They they let the coach go after one year. Right. I mean, you're asking for everything to be thrown into turmoil. And when you hire somebody like cliff Kingsbury, you've already said what you're doing at the quarterback position. There was no other way. The the fact that they didn't utilize their leverage at all and drafted a quarterback before they did something with Josh Rosen was I was. Mistake I thought and he ends up in a place, and guess what? The only place left where they needed a quarterback. The giants didn't make the trade. Instead, they drafted Daniel Jones at number six. So the Miami Dolphins got Josh Rosen in a very very cap friendly trade because if it doesn't work out, which I don't think is a possibility I think Josh Rosen is gonna fit in. Well, I think he's fit in everywhere. He's gone. I think the outliers the guys on the outside talking about him are the ones that have a problem with Josh Rosen. Right. Not the guys he plays with not the teammates, not the people. He works. Definitely so hard for through this whole process. He said nothing he got up. He went to work. He saw the writing on the wall. He didn't complain. I mean, it was a textbook way to deal with an adverse situation. I never dealt with anything in that much. And that kind of form with that kind of integrity. If that kind of character Miami, you're getting a solid quarterback. And you have a guy there and Ryan Fitzpatrick who's been in this league for a very very long time who can help mentor him and bring him along because it's going to be difficult. Right. You're gonna you're gonna get to get chance to go against Sam darnold twice a year. Tom Brady twice a year. Josh Allen three rookie quarterback's a year ago from that class all in the same division. Sorry, guys. It's going to be a few years still until Tommy Tommy leaves that division. But it's going to be an exciting one. And I think that the Miami Dolphins did the right thing and really lucked out here with who they got from Josh Rosen. So thank you, John. We really appreciate that. Just quick follow up on that. You mentioned the change of scenery. How it's probably going to be a good thing for Josh Rosen. How he handled the adversity was there anything in your days, especially with San Diego. That could have helped you deal with adversity a little bit better. Well, I think a a mentor at the quarterback position, right? There were talks when I I was a rookie about bringing in Warren Moon, Hugh, he had played under Kevin Gilbride for the Houston Oilers. Right. And in fact, Kevin Gilbride had me really look at the game plan of blueprint of what more moon did every week with the massages early in the week getting ready after a game to film watching and really early on. That's I fall verbatim. I just didn't have the player in that quarterback room who had gone through the same adversity and struggled. And after that Kansas City game where I struggled so much and how I dealt with everything I didn't have a voice in my ear had a guy that was really trying hard to compete with me a guy named Craig Wheelahan that that wanted just the opportunity to play again. And he was he was more than happy to see that kind of see me implode and fall apart. I think because it gave him an opportunity because of course, his his career was was was shortened as well when they moved on. From both him and I in San Diego. So I really do think a mentor of sorts, but then again, would I have been willing to listen to them? There was a time. There was a time that John Elway called me in my third year. And I just literally on the phone was like, yeah. Yeah. Do you just want to Super Bowls? I got this. Right. It was just it was it was a personality problem on my end. I don't know why. Because I'm more than capable of taking support and help now. Right. I think it's just sure having been humbled. Yeah. In a way allows for that. I wish it would have. But I think that may have been a good step in the right direction. If there had been a a veteran quarterback, I know the next year when Jim Harbaugh showed up. I learned how to play the professional position of quarterback because of him. Now behaviorally I may have still kind of stumbled along the way but competing against him in your three to win. The starting position back again was huge because he's one of the most competitive, right man I've ever met and for me to win that job. And I was a declining version of Jim Harbaugh, but it's still a guy that competed and competed and competed, and when I won the job he admittedly flipped that switch and was like all right now, I'm going to help you along to make you the best possible player for this team moving forward. And he did exactly that. And that's why I think he's been such a successful a successful coach with with quarterbacks. You know? I think that's that. What makes us pretty let's go to the phones again. And and to Sam in West Palm Beach Sam how you doing this morning. Real cut. Ryan how you doing? I'm doing real. Well, thanks for the call. You're doing a great job. Listen to you here over the east coast. Thank you. You know, you said one thing about you. Don't play video games tons. They play. I don't play either. The only one I played with Tiger Woods gall to you. You mentioned that as well. With golfers like speed, which I am too. So I'm still learning. Do you? Remember, what did you ever be tighter? I wanna ask you when you played that game. And you remember what player you were? I don't remember Dom Dominic. I don't hear hear the red headed beer guy. I wanted to kiss curious what you thought I just I I wanted to be Tiger Woods. And so whenever I played that game. I didn't go with some other avatar or anything. I just I wanted to be like tiger. Right. I I mean, even when I would go out and play real golf with people. If I was playing on Sunday. And thanks for the call Sam, by the way. I really appreciate it where read. Yeah. I know. I would I would wear it. I was endorsed by Nike. So I would go through the catalog, and I would just out the the the Tiger Woods golf gear and everything like that. And I would be ob- wore the mock turtleneck back before anybody else was doing it. Because because of what tiger did you said it last time, I hosted the show you said Tiger Woods was going to win the masters, and I said what evidence that's not nothing there. And sure enough, you're right. And it was one of the coolest days in the world. I think it was the first episode of game of thrones that night it was huge day. And then the rain caused them to tee off much earlier morning. You've got up the kid was still asleep. For me. I turned on and watch Tiger Woods for the first time in his golfing profession. Walk somebody down in a major to win his fifteenth major in an fifth green jacket is incredible. So incredible. What did you think of maybe the completion of tiger's comeback as someone who has come back from the depths yourself? I was just going to talk about this, right? And I sent a tweet about it. Because I. Now the program. I'm in it. It's an anonymous program, but I'm not an anonymous guy. Right. So why not talk about my struggles? And things like that. And and for everybody out there who deals with the things they deal with on their own. They choose to deal with it in a non Mus way or or whatnot. I did put out a tweet. And I said it's not lost on me. That what we saw in that mugshot. You know, what to two years ago? Yeah. That's the same mugshot. I had. So I knew exactly where he was at in his life at that time, right? And what I was so impressed with was the individuals in his life that had been in enablers had finally took a hard line instead of boundary and said, hey, we're not going to we're not going to enable your behavior anymore. We're willing to support you in every facet. We can when it comes to your recovery. He hasn't necessarily talked about it. But it's not lost on me that the fact that the guy that won the masters tournament at forty three years old. Two years ago was not able to do anything like this. And because he's a sober individual or at least on a path to recovery. He was able to become the man that he's always been and it's amazing. And I think that was more heartfelt for me. And I think it's made them more likeable and relatable. But guess what? He's he's this flawed human being like all of us. He's just exceptionally good at golf, and he's been the best in the world of all time. Maybe and I think we've always stuck them on this pedestal like. When he'd screw up you'd think like how is that possible? He's got everything going for me. It's just make terrible choices. It's it's easy. It's easy to do. Because a lot of times when you raised in up on that pedestal. You don't really have the tools to live life on life's terms in a normal fashion, and he really had to face those things. And I think there's a lot of accountability about what he's done in this win out of all of them had been as sweet as you can have imagined. And sweet is the first probably right. I think it was more. I really do. I think because he was destined to do that. He was going to do it. No matter what no one. Now, there were some that will continue to think that he might be able to. I I did not believe he was going to be able to win another major that was and I was wrong. I was blatantly wrong because he took a good hard look in the mirror faced as demons went about and did the work. And I think that's important that he wasn't talking about anything out there. Right. Wasn't talking about. I he was just going out and doing the work gradually get into the place where he won the tour championship a year ago, and then put himself in a position this year is huge, right? Three three of the four venues this year are spots where he's one majors. The PGA championship jumped up is now a week away. Yes. It is at Bethpage where he has won before on the US open. It's not gonna be like a US open. Those fairways aren't going to be as tight. It is a long long golf course. But when the US open brings in those fairways and makes it more difficult. I don't know if he's capable of winning a US open anymore because of the length and the narrowness of where he's got to drive the golf ball. But it's at Pebble Beach Pebble Beach is going to do that where he said the scoring record. He won by seventeen strokes just saying, yeah. Yeah. It's it's going to be. Awesome. Because guess what? By that moving up that PGA championship. You're going to get both those tournaments in a span of three and a half three weeks. So, you know, buckle your safety belts. He just won the freedom of the mental feed them, right? Yeah. I mean, it's Tiger Woods as world guys. We're just living in it. We're just we've always been living in it. I'm wearing my read on Sundays when I'm playing golf still because of him. So we're going to we're going to wrap up the show when we come back again. A wonderful opportunity. This has been a lot of fun. I really look forward to it. You're listening to the rich Eisen show. I'm Ryan leaf. We'll be right back. Rich Eisen show.

"It's only a game until you bet it on bet GSI. Go back. Everybody to the rich Eisen show. I'm Ryan leaf sitting in for rich today. Again, thanks for the amazing opportunity. Rich get a chance to watch what I did with your seat here. Thank you very much. Thank you to our guests, Chris long and Howard Beck. A little earlier. Let's get to the phone lines. Right now, we have John in Palm Beach Florida wants to talk a little Josh Rosen. What's up, John? Hey, ryan. I hope you're doing good. I am. Thanks for calling. I know being a quarterback you could give me a better assessment about the Rosen kid come to Miami Dolphins. And I'd like you to give me a heart assessment. Do you think this kid can really play or do we gotta wait another ten years? Or are we stuck with a another Ryan? Guy. Right. Would that? We've had for quarterback for eight years. Right. Thanks for the call, John. I appreciate it. I I like Josh Rosen. I thought he was the most technically fundamentally sound quarterback coming into the draft last year. I had him getting picked by the giants at number two. I thought it was a huge mistake that they didn't get their franchise quarterback. After Eli manning were to leave. The fact that they didn't utilize their leverage at all and drafted a quarterback before they did something with Josh Rosen was I was a mistake. I thought and he ends up in a place, and guess what? All he didn't complain. I mean, it was a textbook way to deal with an adverse situation. I never dealt with anything in that much. And that kind of form with that kind of integrity. If that kind of character Miami, you're getting a solid quarterback. And you have a guy there and Ryan Fitzpatrick who's been in this league for a very very long time who can help mentor him and bring him along because it's going to be difficult..

I had him getting picked by the giants at number two. I thought it was a huge mistake that they didn't get their franchise quarterback. After Eli manning were to leave. Of course, they got saquon Barkley. We've talked about that. Great running back franchise running backs are not winning Super Bowls franchise quarterbacks are everybody. Okay. Ryan just quick follow up on that. You mentioned the change of scenery. How it's probably going to be a good thing for Josh Rosen. How he handled the adversity was there anything in your days, especially with San Diego. That could have helped you deal with adversity a little bit better. Well, I think a mentor the quarterback position, right? There were talks when I I was a rookie about bringing in Warren Moon. He he had played under Kevin Gilbride for the Houston Oilers. Right. And in fact, Kevin Gilbride had me really look at the game plan of blueprint of what Warren Moon did every week with the massages early in the week getting ready after a game to film watching and really early on. That's I follow that verbatim. I just didn't have the player in that quarterback room who had gone through the same adversity and struggled. And after that Kansas City game where I struggled so much how I dealt with everything. I didn't have a voice in my ear. I had a guy that was really trying hard to compete with me a guy named Craig Wheelahan that that wanted just the opportunity to play again. And he was he was more than happy to see that kind of me implode and fall apart. Now behaviorally I may still kind of stumbled along the way but competing against him in your three to win. The starting position back again was huge because he's one of the most competitive, right man I've ever met and for me to win that job. It was a declining version of Jim Harbaugh. But it's still a guy that competed and competed and competed and when I won the job. He admittedly flip that switch and was like all right now, I'm going to help you along to make you the best possible player for this team moving forward. And he did exactly that. And that's why I think he's been such a successful successful coach with with quarterbacks. You know? I think that's what makes us pretty. Let's go to the phones again and to Sam in West Palm Beach Sam how you doing this morning. Real good. Ryan how you doing? I'm doing real. Well, thanks for the call. You're doing a great job to listen to you over the east coast. Thank you. You said one thing about you. Don't play video games my sons, they play I don't play either. The only one I played with Tiger Woods gall to you. You mentioned that well as you were hammered with golfers like speed, which I am too. So I'm still learning you. But do you remember what did you ever be tighter? I wanna ask you when you played that game. And you remember what player you were? I remember Dom the Dominic. I don't hear hear the red edit beer guy. I wanted to curiously he thought I just I I wanted to be Tiger Woods. And so whenever I played that game. I didn't go with some other avatar or anything. I just I wanted to be like tiger. Right. I I mean, even when I would go out and play real golf with people. If I was playing on Sunday. And thanks for the call Sam, by the way. I really appreciate it where I read. Yeah. I know I would I would wear it. I was endorsed by Nike. So I would go through the catalog, and I would just like out, the the the Tiger Woods golf gear and everything like that. And I would be I'll be worthy mock turtleneck, you know, back before anybody else was doing it. And then the rain caused them to tee off much earlier this morning. You've got up the kid was still asleep. For me. I turned on and watch Tiger Woods for the first time in his golfing profession. Walk somebody down in a major to win his fifteenth major in fifth green jacket was incredible. So incredible. What did you think of maybe the completion of tiger's comeback as someone who has come back from the depths yourself? I was just going to talk about this, right? And I I sent a tweet about it. Because I. Now the program. I'm in it. It's an anonymous program, but I'm not an anonymous guy. Right. So when I talk about my struggles and things like that. And for everybody out there who deals with the things they deal with on their own. They choose to deal with it in anonymous way or or whatnot. I did put out a tweet. And I said it's not lost on me. That what we saw in that mugshot. You know, what to two years ago? Yeah. That's the same mugshot. I had. So I knew exactly where he was at in his life at that time, right? And what I was so impressed with was the individuals in his life that had been in the neighbors had finally took a hard line instead of boundary and said, hey, we're not going to we're not going to enable your behavior anymore. Maybe and I think we've always stuck them on a pedestal like. When he'd screw up you'd think like how is that possible? He's got everything going for me to make terrible choices. It's it's easy. It's easy to do. Because a lot of times when you raised in on that pedestal. You don't really have the tools to live life on life's terms in a normal fashion, and he really had to face those things. "Starts off this hour in West Palm Beach, Florida. Hi, Stacy, how are you? I Dave nice speaking to you you to what's up in your world. Okay. So I listen to you every single day for almost a year. Now, I'm on baby steps to and my student loan is the highest. So it's on the bottom of the debt snowball. However, I'm on a income something, you know, repayment for the student loan where everything I've paid to the student loan goes only to the interest. So I was wondering if I should just go ahead and tackle everything else. I do the monthly payments and do the debt snowball for all my other that and then when I'm finished with those then tackle the student loan. You're paying payments on the student loan, right? But they're just they're the income based repayment. So they're small payments, right? Yes, they're small. But when I looked at the website, everything is going only do everything that I pay. Yeah. That's. To do that. Yeah. The the debt snowball says pay minimum payments to everything except your smallest debt list. Your smallest to largest debts. The smallest one work your way down. So here's the thing. Let's say that you raise the payments to your student loan. So the some so that you would cover the interest plus some on principle that would decrease mathematically what you're putting on your smallest debt by that. Same exact amount, right? And therefore slowdown that one. So one of these is going to be slowed down. And I'm going to choose the larger one two run. Slowly, you're gonna get to it. When you get to it. How much is the student loan debt? Eighteen thousand. Okay, good. So it's not huge huge. It's just your largest debt, and what's your income? Fifty four. Good good. Okay. All right. So this is all very doable. Yeah. Just keep the payments were they are on the income based repayment work your debt snowball. When you get down to your last debt, which is your student loan. You're gonna put big chunks on it. And it's going to go away very fast. Okay. I'm trying to think what else. Okay. Thank you for the call. I appreciate you. Joining us. Open phones at triple eight eight to five five two two five Amy is in Little Rock. Hi, amy. How are you? Hi, dave. I'm doing great good. I have. I just got married and my husband, and I are starting on baby steps we start. We start our first budget today. Wow. Look at you. We have a question about whether or not we should be saving up. Basically an insurance truck finding knowing that his vehicle has two hundred thousand miles on it. And he drives at least hundred miles a week. We just know that there's a potential that that could go up on us at any at any time moving forward. We currently have forty six thousand dollars in consumer debt. We just paid off sixteen thousand a couple of weeks ago. And we we are take home pay is at a minimum one hundred thousand dollars a year. And we feel confident that we can knock out this consumer debt in in a year. Good. I think you can. So my question, I guess is should we instead of having it all in a year to be should we Assad fund? No, don't set it up just steps work your baby steps thousand dollars in savings, and you're driving a thousand. He's driving a thousand or two thousand truck, you know, I it's it's on its last leg, we know that and we're going to work like crazy now if something happens and this truck just falls over. Okay. And you need a thousand or two you need more than a thousand dollars to fix it to keep it running until you finish this year. Then you gotta stop them by truck is what we're saying at that point. And what you need to do. Then is you're just gonna stop everything all things and just concentrate on building you a really quick truck. Finding get you three thousand dollars truck or something to get through. What do you make enough money to buy a three thousand dollar truck in one month? Sure. Yeah. Right now, he his truck is a two thousand six Toyota, Tacoma and Kelley blue book lists it for private sale for ninety seven hundred dollars. Oh my goodness. Worst a little. Tell you listen, we call them. Tacos, we got a couple of men in our family, these talk Tacoma's those things man, they go forever. They're wonderful vehicles. Right. We're counting on that. But we just didn't know son has one that's probably almost ten years old. It has never seen the inside of a repair shop ever. I mean, it's amazing. They're great cars. So yeah. That that makes me feel even better about the advice for quality of the vehicle you're driving. And so yeah, tacos are just awesome, man. They're those Tacoma's or I'm I'm a fan. So yeah. I here's the other thing when you do get ready to buy truck this time next year because you're debt free and you're saving up for a truck above your emergency fund. Okay. When you do get ready, keep in mind that whatever he buys. He is destroying its value by the miles putting on it. Right. You put thirty thousand miles a year on car, you're a road warrior and road, warriors, whatever he drives. So if he drives a ten thousand dollar car, he destroys its value. If he drives a fifty thousand dollar car, he destroys its value. So you want him driving the minimum car forever? That will get the job done. Not get the job done is it has to be reliable and comfortable. He spends a lot of time in the car. So it needs to be reasonably comfortable, we're not putting him in ninety six dodge neon. You know, he will be in the car Packers office. Right. So he needs something reasonably comfortable, and it has to be reliable. So he does need to move up in truck. But he doesn't need to move up to a brand new thirty thousand dollar one. That would be a mistake because you're gonna destroy its value. Even if you don't destroy the truck with the amount of miles. He's putting on it. Now, if he wants a car that's not his daily driver in the driveway later on in addition to his one he's destroying that his car that he enjoys a little bit more truck enjoys a little bit more. That's fine. Pay cash for it. It's part of your overall financial plan as you get further along you guys are really doing good very very well done. I mean, you're focused. You're intense. You're coming back from the honeymoon starting everything. Hey game on Waco, Waco, kiddo. Proud of you. Open phones this hour, a triple eight eight to five five two two five. Saul is on Facebook. Dave is there a certain company you recommend for term life insurance? No, I recommend a insurance broker on any kind of insurance that shops among several different companies to get you the best possible by not what we call a captive agent that only sells one brand. And usually the captive agents are not do not have the almost always they don't have.
