"The former president went on Fox last night to talk about that. Cut 21. One good thing is people see what a great company I built. I built a great company, a powerful company. A company that's very lowly leveraged with the among the best assets anywhere in the world. I mean, you look at this asset, she has this down to $75 million. I can tell you it's many times that number, she said, oh, he valued it at 75 or whatever it was or she valued at 75. What does letitia James know? But if I were going, I don't have a mortgage in this forever. If I was going to put a mortgage on this property, the institutions are going to be coming over, they're going to go through comparable properties all over Palm Beach or whatever it is wherever it may be, Miami. We have them all over. We have tremendous properties. And again, we have very little debt.

Dinesh Examines the Trump Lawyers' Brief in the Mar-A-Lago Raid

"Donald Trump's attorneys have filed a document in the southern district of Florida. This is the West Palm Beach division. This is before judge Eileen cannon. This is in the matter of the Mar-a-Lago raid. So to bring you up to speed, judge cannon has ordered the appointment of a special master, the special master is a kind of third party, a neutral guy. To review all the documents seized by the FBI and by the Biden DoJ and the ideas of the special master will decide which of those documents can be retained by the government, which of those documents have to be returned to Trump. And basically judge cannon says, I don't trust the Biden DoJ to perform this task fairly. Now, the Biden people are fighting this bitterly a, they're threatening to appeal, which of course is their right, but good luck. First of all, their appeal there'd be appealing to an appellate court that is majority Republican and even if they appeal that it's gonna go to the Supreme Court. So good luck guys, knock yourselves out with the appeal. But even as they are threatening to appeal, they do have to fight it out before judge cannon. Now, now they're trying to say the Biden administration that the special master can review the documents, but should not have access to any of the classified documents. And who gets to determine what's a classified document, the Biden DoJ goes, well, we do. So we will designate all these documents as classified. We will separate them out. We will give the rest of the documents to the special master and the Trump people are say, that's ridiculous.

Alex Jones Did Get Some Things Right

"Let's talk about Alex. I did have him last week because when you were just talking about it being an op, which I think you've clearly made out the case why it's at least plausible or if not. This is the kind of thing where I feel 5 years ago, if a Charlie Kirk was saying, you know, these were kind of a planned op outside my event, you would be called a conspiracy theorist and read out of polite society. Even in conservative circles, why do you think that that tide has changed so much that you could say this in pretty much no conservatives you're going to question your accusation? Yeah, look, I think the facts have shown us the last couple of years. I mean, I think Alex is wildly entertaining, by the way. I disagree with him on a lot of stuff. His style, I think the sandy hook thing was super questionable if I ever talked to him. I'd love to ask him about it. But he's been right about a lot and we're not allowed to say that out loud, by the way, that Alex Jones was right about a lot. And whether it be a lot of this globalism stuff, the open border stuff, and he obviously has a very unique style. I guess you could say. But there is something to be said though that what once was deemed to be a conspiracy theory is now deemed to be a mainstream accepted fact. And whether it be Russian collusion, I mean, the one I use the most, right? And Alex to his credit was on this, let's just say, comically and as entertaining as possible, was the Epstein island thing. Yeah. And I remember very clearly bringing up Epstein island in a conversation in Palm Beach in 2014 and being told by people that's a conspiracy theory. When literally three streets away, three streets away was Jeffrey Epstein's home doing the exact thing that I heard a rumor about. And they're like, oh, that's a conspiracy theory. It's not true. Well, we now know it's true we just don't know to what extent it's true. We probably do, but there's some gaps to be filled in that there was an island that was probably intelligence operation where underage girls were flown on private jets with world leaders from many different continents and governments to probably accumulate blackmail. That's a very big deal.

The FBI Did All That... For What?

"So we learned that a little more than 24 hours ago, the former president of the United States had his home Mar-a-Lago rated in Florida by the FBI. The search allegedly, now again, we don't know the full extent of this seems to be centered around whether or not he may have taken some classified materials when he departed the Oval Office. And the thinking was that they would then be in Palm Beach, Florida. And so the FBI was there to try and find them. This is kind of wild. What could he have possibly have taken? So that's one question, right? And that's one that Andrew mccabe, who I believe now works for CNN is out there asking mccabe who got fired by Trump from the FBI? So mccabe is asking these questions. A lot of people are thinking maybe could it be something more? We don't know. We don't know, but we know that there's some concern that not only have we just descended into banana republic territory, but in fact, this may be an overreach by our government. Now, again, we'll see where it all shakes out. We'll see what they have, but some judge signed off on this. And the last experience we had with a judge signing off on something to go after Donald Trump just happened to be that fake dossier. And you said to yourself, how could it be that our FBI wouldn't have investigated that more properly before asking a judge to sign off on that to actually spy on an American citizen? Well, now we're looking at a situation where a judge has authorized the search, the search of his home,

"Donald Trump issued a statement. I'd like to read it to you. These are dark times for our nation. That's my beautiful home Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before. After working in cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct. The weaponization of the justice system and an attack by radical left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for president in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and conservatives in the upcoming midterm elections. Such an assault can only take place in broken third world countries, sadly America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.

The FBI Raided Trump—but Where Is the Crime?

"According to The New York Times, former president Donald J Trump said on Monday that the FBI had surged his Palm Beach Florida home and had broken open a safe and account signaling a major escalation in the various investigations into the final stages of his presidency, the search, according to multiple people familiar with the investigation appeared to be focused on material that Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago his private club and resonance when he left The White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents according to a person familiar with their content. Mister Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of material requested by officials with the national archives for many months, only doing so when there became a threat of action to retrieve them, the case was referred to the Justice Department by the archives early this year. This is an insane thing. It is just an insane thing. So here is here is the bottom line here. The FBI is not trusted by many, many Americans. I mean, a majority of Republicans do not trust the FBI according to polling data. A majority of independents do not trust the FBI. According to polling data, what the FBI just did requires extraordinary institutional trust. This is an FBI under the auspices and a current administration rating the home of the leader of the last administration and the likeliest potential nominee for the opposition coming 2024. It seems like on the face of it, banana republic type stuff. It seems like on the face of it, pretextual, especially because if you're going to do something like this, there had damned well, better be a crime. The crime can't be something like the president of the United States when he left office. He brought with him stuff. Bill Clinton brought half The White House with him when he left office. He was never rated.

So we thought we'd talk about it, kind of go into it a little bit, and also just describe the very remarkable events of this past week, kind of the way we rolled out and launched this movie. So honey, it kind of all began, I guess on Tuesday, when we jumped on a plane and flew to Palm Beach for the Mar-a-Lago premiere. Well, no, you can't say that. No, no, you can. You can eat and play golf, but the only person who stays there is Trump. It's like a club. No, but it's not a residential. How Did the Experts Get Inflation So Wrong? Dave Brahnsen Explains

"Living through a period of inflation right now. I remember I had a lunch in Palm Beach about let me think about this about a year ago. A year and a half ago, and I said that inflation is coming. I was laughed at by a bunch of Wall Street guys. And they said, oh, we look at all the fundamentals. There's no way it's not going to happen. How did the experts get this so wrong? I mean, it was so clear and vivid people that are in the money management business told me no inflation never going to happen. We don't have enough money, but now we're living through catastrophic inflation. Yeah, I think that the inflation we're dealing with now is primarily on the supply side of the economy and people weren't focused on that. They didn't believe that the reopening of the economy after the absurd lockdowns was going to lead to this kind of surge in demand. So we're so used to thinking of inflation in the 1970s where there's just too much money chasing too few goods and services that it ever occurred to people that ports not being open and people being incentivized to not go back to work after the extension of Biden and employment benefits last year. The truck drivers not being there. The supply chain disruptions. Those are the things that really caused a huge escalation in prices. And so I think Charlie would have to be afraid of two inflation level we're dealing with because of what is going on right now in the supply demand imbalance, but then longer term, I'm very afraid of stagnant economic growth because the excessive indebtedness that we have created in the economy. We go into a Japan like mode where we can't even they can't won't even be able to get inflation in the future because there's too much downward pressure on economic growth. The production of goods and services. We need to be a vibrant healthy economy.

If you go all the way back to Marx, the workers of the world unite, well, if the truckers are uniting, they're out on the road, they're making the and this is also a grassroots movement. I can't name the head of these of the truckers so it looks like this is developing from the bottom up, talk a little bit about how did this movement get started and how did it grow? Right, so nearly three weeks ago now, a hundred plus truckers left from British Columbia, the far coast on the west, and they wanted to have the mandates lifted for the truckers because dinesh, the truckers are working alone, they're not infecting anyone. But as they traveled across Canada, this movement picked up via hundreds, thousands of vehicles joined them, thousands of Canadians, tens of thousands, the videos are overwhelming in terms of the numbers of Canadians that stood in the bitter cold waving them on, and by time they got to Ottawa dinesh, their demands had not just been for themselves, but for every single Canadian, freedom for every single Canadian before they'll

There's a lot of hardworking, great Americans there that just want to raise their families and red white and blue values. And one of the things I've tried to tell, some of the consulting groups and Palm Beach in Florida in those areas is so goes California so goes the nation and what are we going to do? "Faith. And when I started hearing this, I honestly could not believe it. But then it grew louder and louder. People really had a resistance to their vaccine once the vaccine was available because they felt or at least there was just so much misinformation. Our community pays so much attention to what they hear on Facebook that I find it shocking that I post information and it doesn't spread like wildfire, but misinformation does. And so the work that we had to do really comes down to one O one and relationships calling our neighbors calling people that we know are potential candidates for the vaccine, just inviting them to the vaccine events that we do hold we continue to hold once a month. And really putting that personal touch to it instead of just sort of trying to beat someone into doing it by shaming them all, you know, you still haven't gotten it. You're gonna get sick because if I feel that if they haven't gotten the vaccine by this point, they're not going to. But misinformation regarding the chip and only those that don't believe or trust in the lord will get sick and die. I mean, it was rampant. You're not the first person who has been serving the Spanish speaking communities or other migrant communities who have who has told me that. And I think the two issues of misinformation and the evangelical part, there's a pastor up here where I'm at Massachusetts, who does Facebook lives totally unchecked. Like, completely does the Nicki Minaj like stories. But there's a lack of sort of filtering and educating the community because it's very easy to spread misinformation in Spanish on Facebook or on WhatsApp, right? So which I think brings the bigger question I'm trying to get out here is how you need cultural competency on the groundwork to actually misinform and you're basically a tugboat fighting a battleship in a lot of ways. Oh my God. I do sometimes get frustrated. I talk to families about it. And now that children are able to be vaccinated, we have parents calling and asking questions. And I know some of these parents and I'll ask them. So let me get this straight. Did you already get vaccinated somewhere else? Because if you did, I'm so happy to hear that. And if you didn't, you're calling to get information about vaccination for your children, but you won't do it. You're still being permissionless and what happens to you? What happens to your child if you get the virus or something happens to you and you have a secondary condition that you were even aware of? And then something happens to you, what's going to happen to your children? Well, my personal faith that's not going to happen to me. And this is the point that I'm trying to get it. It's like how much has cultural competency helped at least a little bit for you and trying to like I think it goes back to for me the relationship. Yeah, yeah, say more about that because I think this is where people are missing the point in this bigger, which I think is the invisible eye story of COVID, where it's too easy to say, you know, Spanish speaking people are in the United States or being misinformed about COVID because of this and WhatsApp and Facebook. But you're doing the work. I mean, you're helping people with food stopping evictions, educating people, meeting people where they're at. Why does that matter? And why is it critical work that you do? Because you do critical work and I just wanted to acknowledge that. Thank you, Julio. I think it matters because our people matter. And this particular community in the north end for too many years has been ignored. And we have only been on the ground a little bit over two years. And to see the difference of when I first showed up on the scene and how was looked at with I'm not a local, I am not Guatemalan or did I grow up in that particular area? So I had to slowly over time prove that my intentions were good. I wasn't there saying one thing and then turning around and somehow taken advantage of the community. And so it took a little bit and I think that people know that I care, people know that I know their names and I know their children's names if they have children if they happen to come by. I make a point of saying hello and asking them how I can help. And I'm not always able to help. That's the thing, and that's the thing that really drives me to do better and to continue to bring resources to the area is that I'm not always able to help but I am always going to try. So even if that means making a phone call looking for a referral looking for someone else that can provide that help and following up. And I think that over time, people know that and they know that it's a safe space where they can come. And we now have moms coming by with tamales or listen, I made dinner and is it you Cheetos? You know, like Guatemalan tamales. And they bring them by and I wanted to share this with you, or we have events where we do potlucks and people bring different meals. My God, the potlucks I grew up, we would bring enough for 5 ten people. The women bring enough for a party of a hundred. I love it. Well, I think Bernie Sanders, I think this is important that I'm really glad you came on the show because I do think you're one of those people in your organization is one of those organizations that's doing it focusing very hyperlocal in the community building the relationships understanding the cultural differences. You as a Mexican understands, you know, you've got to earn some respect when it comes to what they might take. I mean, there's a history there, right? Yes. So where can people learn more about the work that you're doing? Because I do think your story is universal. It's a hyperlocal story, but it could apply to I mean, the same things are happening up here in Chelsea, Massachusetts in Astoria queens and out west and bosso and other places. Where can people learn more about the work that you do? Well, we are on social media at esperanza community center are G, we're also on Facebook community center. And we're also on Instagram with the same name as parents a community center. Somebody set a Torres. Thank you so much for being on Latino rebels radio with me. Thank you for having me. I appreciate it. Wow, so you see, this is what I mean. I mean, these stories, like Mary selas are happening each and every day in the United States, whether it's a local community in West Palm Beach or out in California and tejas or anywhere up here in the northeast in the Midwest, and it really comes down to as Mary selah says meeting people where they're at. And here is a community that was devastated by COVID-19. I'm sure and I'm going to guarantee you I'm sure you're not see this community in any mainstream reports when people talked about Florida. When they go to west palm, they're not going to where the guatemalans and the Mexicans are at. Right? It's too hard for them. It's like, well, I don't even people don't know about these communities yet. So the work that Marty said I was doing is actual bridge building. It's an actual de invisible people. Humanizing people. And that's why people like marcela and others are doing really, really important work and getting to understand and getting to really see these communities living each and every day. So if you like what you heard rate and review us, share this podcast, tweet at me who let those 77 tweet out Latino rebels. Big shout out to Oscar Fernandez, our producer, who also produces a Latino media collective out of D.C., follow them as well. And we'll be back next week like we always do. We always close out with la play and bena savita. Latino.

"The second to last day of Hispanic heritage month. I'm so excited that this month is going to end. Listen, as you know, we record remotely so you can get your podcasts on audio boom, Apple podcasts, ditch your Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts. And I have a cool little studio downstairs in my house. It's this old stone studio basement from New England. It's really super cool. It's like natural acoustics. Didn't create the studio was the house. But just letting you know, we do have some remote recording and there might be sounds of the suburbs. Once in a while. I'm just revealing that now. Anyway, all right, well listen, we have a really amazing fabulous guest from West Palm Beach in Florida and I would love to have our fabulous guests introduce themselves and tell us why they're here and what they do. So fabulous guests from west palms. My name is Marissa. I'm the executive director at esperanza community center, where a nonprofit located in the north end of the city, serving the Latino community. And you wanted to come on to talk about just sort of we talk about the American community in southern Florida and west pump specifically during the pandemic. The work that you guys do, I don't think people think about West Palm Beach. As a migrant community, right? Can you share a little bit more light about the community and then we can talk a little bit more about sort of what's been going on since the pandemic broke in this world. And your area. Yes, so excited to be here today to share a little bit about the work that we're doing and the West Palm Beach area. There is a huge community of Latinos living in the north end where we serve there's a lot of a large portion of people from Guatemala as well as Mexico in the area that I'm at in a little bit south of us is also a very large watermelon community, Mexican community. And Venezuela and Colombia. It's a real mix in this county. So I don't think people realize that. No, I think they don't, especially when they think about west palm or the north Palm Beach area. Because it tends to be portrayed in the media or in the news as just beaches and beautiful homes and restaurants, which it is all that. But we in this area, you know, we keep this going. And a lot of our competitors and familias in this area, there are working hard and making the beautiful golf courses looking better. And the restaurants and the hotels and the resorts and it's just really the work that we're doing here. It doesn't always go recognized. Right. So in essence, you know, West Palm Beach is run by essential workers. Yeah. It is absolutely this area is so popular, right? People come here from all over the world because it has beautiful shopping, dining and resorts. And there's a silent community in the background that keeps it all going. And yes, I would say that these workers are essential. South of us in a different county, there's also a lot of crops that are grown. But cucumbers and peppers and strawberries and lots of fruit that we eat year round in the country and our people bring it to the store. You know, they bring it up and it's not always recognized. Yeah, yeah, because everyone thinks, you know, there's only certain parts of this country where you think about that, but obviously southern Florida. I'd say like west palm is kinda I consider it southern Florida, you know, it's north of Miami, north of Fort Lauderdale. Up the I 95 corridor. I don't think people think about that. Before we get into what's happened tell me a little bit more about the community. Why are they there? Because then you hear about this community that's invisible, but they're there, right? They're raising kids. They're trying to make money, do better for their lives is what's the spirit of the community? The large Guatemalan community that is here in South Florida fled Guatemala back during the Civil War there in the 80s. And the most recent arrivals are migrant economic what I call economic migrants, which are seeking a better life as well as many of them that were suffering some sort of threat back home due to the gang violence and they left their country. And this community works in the golf courses, the restaurants, hotels, and like you said, they're racing families. They're sending money back home. And the majority of them, they have a dream of living here and offering their family that American Dream. Sometimes it gets very simple. There's still people who believe in that and work for it. So tell me then how obviously people hear about Florida. My family moved from Puerto Rico to Orlando. So I know Central Florida in this area very well because I've spent a lot of time down there. So tell me in the context of the pandemic that has gripped the state as gripped the country gripped the world. What specifically has happened to this community in the pandemic and because you don't hear these stories? You know, you know what I'm saying? You don't hear about flood. You don't hear about this community in the context of COVID-19 in coronavirus. One of the things that when the word COVID and coronavirus started to circulate in early 2020, it was we thought it wasn't going to come here. It was like this very far fetched idea. And then the news started getting a little bit more urgent. The people that we serve most of them, the majority are day laborers, meaning they don't have a full-time job. They wait on a specific corner for daily work. So they live on daily wages. And the families that we serve in that community, many of them work in landscaping, restaurants and homes, day cares, and so on. And these are people that didn't have the benefit or working from home. And when one started getting sick, it was a quick spread throughout the community. At our community center, we were not offering a food pantry at that time because I believe that the community that we serve is very resilient. They do not want that food handout as they tend to call.

You gotta know that if you're crazy again and get kicked out and i've done it probably thirty times in fifteen years and i always give chances. I tell people this during the show. The crowd always sees it which is why they're always on my side and i have full jurisdiction to do it because i give chances whether it's staring at them asking them to be quiet telling them i don't want to kick them out using them to go into other jokes making small talk just every chance and sometimes don't want it. They want to do what they're doing. They wanna be obnoxious. They think the shows. They think they're bigger than the show. And that's when i take it personally is when i see people around them starting to look at them because of how they are and some people just get so drunk they honestly don't even know what's happening there blackout and they can't even take accountability and This guy was obnoxious. she was also dislike.
