"Liked every move. The padres main at the end of the day though when those moves get injured or underperform injured in yu darvish injured and paddock underperformance. Snell they're again. They're running a two man rotation out there at this exact moment. This is a team that is not going to win going forward and i think the trade deadline only hurt the chemistry of that team yesterday. They fired their pitching coach. Larry rothschild at the end of the day. Larry rothschild did not get their pitchers hurt. The pitchers hurt and that. And now you got a team that is absolutely looking devastatingly bad and they're about to go into a series of the los angeles dodgers. This might be the series that knocks the padres out a playoff contention period.

"Less than two years. After bushfires blazed across australia the countries east coast is seeing its worst flooding in decades. Some areas accumulated over yard of rainfall since downpours started last thursday. Tens of thousands have been ordered to evacuate on sunday alone. Five hundred giga leaders of water. The same volume of water and sydney harbour spilled out of sydney's largest dam even as rain subsides. The floodwater will still post trouble for weeks to come joined now by laura chung who has been reporting on all of this for the sydney morning herald. Welcome thank you for having me. Thank you for being with us. So what are you hearing from people on the ground there. Can you talk about the scope of the damage that they've seen so far of course say unlike the bush fires. We don't actually have a clear image of how much has just been damaged or destroyed. We know it's significant part of the state but what we do know is there has been water. Everywhere we've heard and seen houses just picked up floating down rivers that used to be farms and paddocks we've heard of livestock just being completely washed away their videos and of cows and horses just trying to make it through these really heavy floodwaters and what used to be straits and headaches just now yet completely flooded with water right up to where the pow lines off so if you can imagine that it is very striking image. What about people who didn't weren't able to evacuate and are now stranded. I mean how are rescue operations going right now for a lot of people who live in these low lying plains. Floods aunt anything new to them. They've lived with them before they know how to prepare for them. But there are a lot of people who would just not quite ready for how quickly the water would come up So we've got thousands of volunteers from the state. There was just a dying we ended up working with some really amazing clydes that you mentioned some of those cola being one of the most recognizable here in atlanta. And because of that. I kind of handed that off at one point that i really wanted to go build a product company especially working with products all the time and people who are doing products and keeps you energized. And i handed off people much more formidable to me to building an agency building that up and they're just doing a tremendous job now and they made it now the full gamut of design and development. So it's really grown. it's blown up. I think eighteen people now. And when i left it was two people and we had eight contractors so big change for you. That's that's cool to know when to hand something off and you know when to let it kind of take wings and give it to someone who perhaps can can take it to that next level if it's not something you want to do. I'm curious then. So you were running this agency. The description on the home pages were a digital product design and development firm in woodstock georgia and we're on a mission to make sure no digital experience gets left behind. You obviously have the chops weather. Your own design skills or through the network of contractors or employees that you worked with to build full on digital products web and mobile whatever. Why start something. A physical component basically a swag not a swag shop. It's it's a. You started a product that allows other brands to launch their own swag campaigns or swag shops versus just going building a suffer product. A sass or whatever because you obviously have the skill and the experience to do that. Yeah and i. I've done that before If i could show my rap sheet of how many things have failed might give you a long list done a lot that they they made minor successes here and there. But i've learned a lot along the way. I'm really fascinated with physical and kind of marrying digital world to a physical product. And i think i've really been obsessed with that for a long time and we'll be excited about it was at Black airplane we didn't slap and i don't know how the slagle it's now there but it's always been great. Slept our websites and name to we're about on people swag. We just gave them really great swag every single time. People would brag on that we had. I used to joke that people would wear the black airplane swag out to the park or on a date they would rip the sleeves off and there and cut grass with it. You know. it wasn't one of those types of shirts that you hated or hats or whatever really nice stuff and i saw. The people got really excited about that and there was a neat. And i'm really obsessed with your experience i wanted to build. This product platform had married that experience of getting something from an employee your colleague or boss and in receiving that in your hand and physically seeing that side of things as well so i got

Herbaria with Director of the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium, Dr. Barbara M. Thiers

"An honor to have you. How about we start off by telling everyone a little bit about who you are and what it is you do. Okay name is barbara tears. My title is patricia k. Holmgren director of the william. Linda steere herbarium of new york botanical garden herbarium. The garden is the second largest in the world. It has almost eight million specimens and it has been in active force implant research. Since in founding the institution the late eighteen eighteen hundreds. And what we do there is we add specimens to this survey. Remember here we also make them available as loans or as we allow people to come visit. And we also are digitizing the specimens at a fairly fast clip with thanks from funding over the last decade. Or so actually more from the national science foundation. So that's my job. I have a staff about thirty people and one of the things i do in. That job is a fair. Bit of public outreach. In the way of giving tours of the herbarium over the years to writing people local students to the general public houses. Our collection isn't like a museum in that it's open to the public. The this all behind the scenes so we let the public in occasionally but really just for a few days at a time and also then for people who might wanna help right about or support our herbarium. So it's through really through the the the tours that i'd given over the years that i began to really think about the herbarium and how to talk about it in a way that would interest people because on his face. It's a collection of dead plants and it doesn't sound very exciting however i've been really heartened that Especially in recent years. Maybe with a heightened understanding or appreciation of the environment of worry about climate change that. There's been a lot of people have been a lot more interested in this aspect of science. It's not the glamorous part it's where we store the research results you know that others have published upon and we have to store them forever. it's never ending. They absolutely have to be maintained. Forever and It's it's hard to do that. It's hard to keep the funding to keep the staff. It's hard to keep the collection up when you have so many but it's it's an absolutely crucial aspect of the scientific process. This is where the the the documentation of the plant. Biodiversity research is located in terms of my background. I sort of grew up in a herbarium. My father was actually a psychologist studied. Fungi and started their barium at san francisco state university and all my childhood weekends were spent either collecting mushrooms or it was the season than Often to get me out from under foot from my under my mother's feet my father had become to the herbarium on a sunday afternoon and help him do things. Like lou label. Simple jobs it. I got more complicated. And he gave me a little bit of money for it. So i was. I was happy to do it. And i did that for years. I enjoyed in good. I became a teenager and i was so interesting. And i i didn't I didn't want anything to do with our barium or my parents or anything but Somewhere my college years. I actually found my way back. I just seem to me that my father and his colleagues his students all just could hardly wait to get up and go to work and make new discoveries every day. They were so passionate about what they did. And i hadn't really come across any other community where people have that kind of passion and i wanted to be part of it so The focus of san francisco. State was on fungi. Although there were people working on lichens and other groups but one group nobody was working on. Were the liver words. The had paddock's thought they were too hard and apply they're not a terribly rich flora in california so they weren't always even very easy to find but they intrigued me so i began to kind of teach myself What could i made a lot of bad identification. But i graduate but i grew to really love these little organisms. They're they're tiny. They're beautiful all sorts of falls structures to their leaves and so forth. And you just feel like when you look at the the microscope you just kind of entering a miniature world Which is just full of beauty. And then i went on to grad school. I was able to convince someone to let me study with them. rather famous man rudolf schuster who wrote the mammoths treatment of the bryant of the hypocrisy north america. He was actually a horrible mentor. But that's okay. I still got my degree. And i was lucky enough to get a post doctoral position at the new york botanical garden. Right out of grad school. Once i was there i knew i never really wanted to leave. So that's that's kind of story mike.

Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Until December

"Go, Breaking News Sarah Pump Twenty seventy seven has been delayed a little less than a month. They. tweeted this out just now. Hey everyone. Today, we've decided to release to release the cyberpunk seven by twenty one days the state December tenth. Most likely there are many emotions and question your heads. So first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies the biggest challenge for us right now, shipping of the game on current Gen Nexgen PC at the same time requires US prepare and test nine versions of it xbox one x compatibility series S X. ps four pro compatibility on ps five pc stadia working from home. Since Era Punk has twenty seventy seven has evolved towards almost being a next gen title somewhere along way, we need to make sure everything works well and every virgin run smoothly where we're aware it might be unrealistic. When someone says it twenty one days can make a difference sister massive and complex game, but they really do so have you might also be wanted what these words mean us say we achieve our goal Massar. Sometime ago paddock certification are going Goldman to gave his ready can be completed and has all the content in it. It doesn't mean we stop working on a raise. The quality are in raising the quality bar on the contrary. This is the time where many improvements are being made, which will then be distributed via day zero patch. This is the time period we under calculated. We feel that we have amazing game our hands and are willing to make every decision even the hardest ones for automatically. Leads to you getting a video game, you'll fall in love with some Adam Barsky and markets Wenski CD, project read. So yeah. Twenty one days. What do you think Fran bombed? This doesn't surprise me in the least and like I mean honestly I really don't think it's a big deal. I know a ton of people are growing as I say that like what like this is like how many delays like how it's like for some people? This is probably feeling unacceptable because they're so excited about the next Gen consoles it came right at a time. You can pick those up orgies period. You're kind of like we've been waiting for a really big game dropped for a while a lot of people right and so people were stoked but. This company is famous for being perfectionist you know, and that's what I hear when I read this, they're staring down the barrel of the new Gen consoles in particular, and probably which we always I feel like there's gay games, the optimizations, and this has been such labor of love and they're just like. Guys we have to smooth out some frame rate. We've gotta get these next Gen consoles closer to being more than just like a frame rate improvement versus because that's what you're dealing with to. Right. It's a PS four, xbox one version kinda slightly amped up and it sounds to me like they want to try a few more things. I think that's great. Especially, if you plan to play in those consoles, these twenty one days are going to make a huge difference view versus were going to talk about it later got a war as is going to work on PS five. Do you want cyberpunk like that where it's ps four game that works? A little better or do you want optimization? Yeah, I well, how do you feel? Personally I. It doesn't superman like we're we're both used to playing games or incomplete like that's just the reality of it so. I don't think this matter so much to me I am relieved that like Oh thank God that November like. Push because that is literally there's like. Five Games that we are we are going to talk about that we add. Is What he did. Selfish on that front there is I mean I'm going to be a half to I'm going to be playing destiny on November tenth. Somebody. Tim was asking me about cyberpunk and all that and I was like. Dude I'M GONNA. Check out but. What am I supposed to do? It would be like grinding for a rate so selfishly and like, yeah, let's go. Give me give me a month to catch up on a lot of stuff.

Jockey John Velazquez on his third Kentucky Derby win in his first competition with Authentic

"We have John Velazquez the hall of Fame Three Time Kentucky Derby winner on the phone now Johnny. Thanks for some time this morning the industry star of the week at the by Stuart Morris Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you for having me. Yeah. Three and ten years I think that's something that's getting overlooked here. animal kingdom always dreaming. authentic. Things did not go as planned when that gate opened on Saturday? Well I tell you. I was expecting that the we're GONNA break a little slow and I? Even said it. Before they raised a couple of his did I did you know? I get in like the position that we had just because being last one indicate normally once you get into gate. kind of like to get a sausage facets of canned really wants to live circuits. So horse is not. Hundred percent spending properly, and You Know Eight, hundred, ten, th there for jumping number good and even. He's not very quick from the gate. So with watching he's prior races and being the last one and go into the I I was back to not. On the other hand I knew he was going to be quick. you know to to get too close to the lead or BMW before we get, we get to the to the turn. So you know I didn't wear so much and I think even if you the way broke, I kinda wane gradually you know going into the lead before we get to the first time. Were you surprised that no one took advantage of the lackluster break and that you were able to clear by the time you've got that I I. Well I. If we look back at the race really there was only one. One speed horse in and teeth the law and I knew he was not wanna go to delete or you know that's not the way they they actually wanted them to you know and listened to Berkeley and and and prior to that you know the just like to suck somebody and so on. And other words Park elope is I thought he probably go to the lead and and I was willing to let him go if you wanted to do obviously when we pass it pass the wire for the first time in and see him and he wasn't going to delete it. So that was my turn you know to. Okay. Let me go ahead and do what Mars you want to do. You always talk to us here on the network about playing you leave the paddock with plans a to Z with a horse like authentic. There's really not much and you know you know he's GonNa break a little slow at least you did he's not going to break that sharp. You're going to be on the lead I'm sure after you watch the Haskell. You. Likely. Did you have some concerns about the mile and a quarter after watching the Haskell? We always have it. You know and and. Talking to by he, he's just like you know what I think I haven't much ready this time know for going on quarter. We always had a question whether he can't go out on any tips like, but you you you bob. You have to carry the source now he goes to putting the pressure. And he says that when you get to the stretch I, want you to to get you let handed ready for this. Okay. Make sure you get you get his attention and I mean to territory worked out. Perfect. You know talking about we planning with we were just rubies. Have dinner like three, nine, five bike and we keep talking about it. Then it's like you'll make sure you haven't left hand to you know get attention and if you look back from the house cold to the Derby, Mike, Never hit him though Mike he just GonNa kick. Showing the weapon and kind of top him this time you know I got the. Price Him and he responded right away i. that was the difference dry. They're actually afterwards Bob said to me if he makes had hidden his left handed in this house. You would never be on him on the Derby because I don't think he would have got off of them. You know what I mean, and that's why they thought. It was that he might not want to go the distance and. He's a little quirky so he kinda gets distracted very very, very easily and he looked he looked like he was GonNa win easy and and the has over. So it kind of you know the other horses going back to him so. If he had, he had a ham handed I think he would have gone on and You would have been in these stories. So I'm glad he did. Now Three Kentucky Derby wins that that is rarefied Air Bob said after the race when he wants six, it never gets old, you feel the same way. Absolutely. You know. They ask me that the obviously when month derby ends like if it gets old you into something else go and retire and something now absolutely that that feeling that you get. The satisfaction you get, it's incredible. There's just no worse due to this drive it you know and I mean if you get up to to be in this kind of thing, Menendez GonNa. Racist It's incredible. It's just no words to describe it. You know. Got To be. Blessed.

Fed's jerome Powell Says Congress Should Do More To Save Economy

"With all possible. Respect to Jay Powell. The Chairman of the Federal Reserve is saving a cratering. American economy is no easy thing right but with all respect the time ten weeks into this thing has come to say all right. Show me what you got and we say that because Miss Pal has in television interviews in congressional testimony made clear that he believes Congress while already having done a lot of risky work should do more but he has also said. Mr Powell has what us the Fed. Oh we're not gonNA run at it and munition in more proper actual fedspeak yesterday. Ms Powell told the Senate Banking Committee. The Fed is quote committed to using our full range of tools to support the economy in this challenging time and quote so those tools what might be. Here's marketplace's Mitchell Hartman. Think of the Fed like a plumber. It's job is to make sure money keeps flowing through the US financial system when the system gets clogged by say a pandemic. The Fed whips out its monetary policy wrenches and drain remorse to unclog the flow of money. Make it cheaper and less risky to borrow and land. That's what the Fed did in mid March when it cut interest rates to zero says Brad McMillan at Commonwealth financial and that was really key to preventing paddock. Because of what? It said that the central bank was not going to let a crisis happen since then. The feds kept money flowing by adjusting banking rules. Buying up Treasury and mortgage bonds and the list goes on says Mark Zandi at Moody's analytics so the Stock Bond Markets Credit markets. Broadly are functioning. Well they still have some more room to maneuver here if they need to. Zandi says the Fed could backstop the mortgage market as more homeowners delay monthly payments and could buy more and riskier corporate bonds to keep credit flowing and the Fed is about to get money out to small and mid sized businesses through its new main street lending facility but one thing the Fed can't do says Andy is pumped money directly into the economy. Good things going again. Now that the people lost lots of jobs people very nervous lot of uncertainty. And that's more difficult for the Fed. The Central Bank could try to help Americans more directly says MIT economist. Deborah Lucas. Let's call helicopter money. They could print money and they could distribute it to households but she says that would be risky and would require the Fed to manipulate the money supply and banking system in ways it never has before I'm Mitchell Hartman for

We have our right fielders running drills where they're coming up running to get guys at first, and it's a play you can pull off in little league because you know, kids don't run hard all the time. Rightfielder I is not we're playing our guys in. So anyway, I saw her do it. I said shutout coach Lou for the smoke play copes. You guys are running high school Monroe. Yeah. I don't think we called it the smoke place. Just you do it against right handed hitters, usually or soft left handed hitters you pop. One over your head. Maybe shade your center fielder. But a. I was a centerfield. Yeah. Centerfield shares catcher combination. Craig Bijou kind of thing. Yeah. No second base, though. Yeah. No, second not too bad. I see you as a to Bagger to bad maybe a little bit softball. Current softball league. Yeah. But I've been my schedule's been off because I've been out of town and weekends in the park. But yeah, I play on the cable cars and then on on Saturdays. I'm on the the rhinos. You elevate to elevate. Every time I just try to hit singles up, you have some guys you have some guys behind the elevator says you mash the ball and softball. I Don I don't know where those guys came from. But somewhere along the way we grew up in a generation where some guy that you were just working next to turns out, he just crushes soft. Some of these guys are just and there's ringers out there guys who are like hanging around the field waiting extra guys. The catch is none of us grew up playing slow pitch softball. So where did these guys hone these skills? You know, what I mean, we all grew up playing basketball. So if you go to the gym, and there's some guys got a sweet pickup game. You guys got a sweet pickup played ball. Yeah. You go onto the golf course. There's like one guy. He's got great hands. He's a great golfer. He's been playing he's been taking money from guys since college. But where did these guys hone their ability to hit the backward? The backward. Tossed high elevated softball pitch somehow some way that guy in the cubicle next to you is the guy who elevates three ninety. The fans who it is in this building. Blow your mind. It's Marty's guy. Raff raff rakes the ball. He's in elevators got L graph just mashes the raffle roll in here and he'll pronounce stats from his league online. Check it out on it and five forty okay? His stats sheet here. Slow pitch softball. There's this guy generally, they really beefy guys. They got the beefy forearms the beefy upper bodies, not a beef beef Casey, a big high is he a load and elevate you must be he's like don't. Yeah. Tana's hips. "NBC four news. We lead local live from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. John kobylt and Ken chiampou KFI AM six forty coming up. We're pretty soon gonna see a verdict in the shop of trial. Eleven weeks. Most of it. The prosecution's case, we'll talk about the latest with the closing arguments coming up, and we will talk at the health and science desk about the anti vaccine parents and a demographic profile, which might interest you. That's coming up later on this hour KFI. We're gonna talk now. Brian clay pool. He's an attorney with the play pool law firm. He's been on the show many times for a lot of cases he's been involved with involving child sex abuse. He coincidentally also was at the famous Las Vegas shooting in October two thousand seventeen the route ninety one harvest festival. Fifty eight people got got killed there. Hundreds were were shot at and wounded, and it was it was Stephen paddock sitting on the thirty second floor of the Mandalay bay resort. And he was leaning out the window and just going to town on that open lot where the concert took place and play pool. Was there? And now we have reports coming out. After many many months of investigation. It's the FBI and they've already previously reported the paddock acted alone. We all knew that. But in terms of trying to come up with a motive about the only thing they can see because there's no clear motivating factor, and he did not leave behind manifestos. No online profiles. No, real hints is maybe he was seeking some form of infamy was apparently in deteriorating health, both mentally and physically. So go to Brian. How are you Brian? I appreciate you guys have on. I remember one of the last times we had you on you talked about all the all the trauma that you are still going through from from the shooting is that still happening. Funny. It's improving for sure I've been I've been working out with a personal trainer. Four days. A week. I'm still in therapy on average about twice a month. But I'll tell you it just pops about an hour. The other day, I was just driving driving to my office. My little girl donder school earlier in the morning. And I literally just broke down crying at a stoplight. Why? Because for some reason I felt like I wasn't going to see my little girl. Grow up. In other words, I thought I was gonna like something bad's going to happen. To me. I'm gonna die before my little girl grows up a lot of victims of the Vegas shooting or going through this. They have fatalistic catastrophic FOX that just pop up. I don't know where and we all think we're gonna die. It's like that movie final destination where you think you're going to die because you you probably should have died at the Vegas shooting. So that's really one of the biggest things I'm still coping. And that's what you talk about. In therapy. Are these panic attacks that you have? Yeah. Yeah. Panic attacks. And then the exile is is is is another big one. And and and that's in the context of like, we all we all our everyday lives. So the world doesn't stop when somebody goes through major trauma, and that's a real battle. And it's still I'm still struggle with. I I run a law firm, I'm a single parent, and I get I get very overwhelmed, and then and then the shooting filters in and what helps me in therapy to manage my responsibilities in. There was I prioritize my therapist helps me realize that I'm doing an okay job. My daughter's number one, they how are you doing as a dad there for her? You're delivering the goods for number too. How's that going I'm holding onto things? So as part about validation that you're doing okay. 'cause we all think we're not doing that. Great and hundreds of people are going through the same thing. The hundreds of other people. Imagine the hundreds that were affected by that shooting in Thousand Oaks. Months ago by ex exactly. Yeah. No. I come out as well. I mean, they're they're going through that too. It's going to be a life changing event. And you don't wanna be around crowds. Your another thing too. You don't trust your surroundings. That's another big thing for all these victory. Anybody involved in a traumatic shooting like that? You just don't trust your surroundings. Where did you get out of this FBI report that the only reason they could come up with is that paddock wanted to be famous before? He he left the the planet. I'm telling you a big goose egg. Okay. You call this an FBI report. I mean, I two and a half page report after you should rather I tear rapper. She did. Oh after Skift eighteen months of copious investigation by created. What's called a Las Vegas review panel here, our our findings, and and and the findings exactly what you said, basically what we all knew. And and I'll tell you what people across this country want to see not just the victims mattress. I'm not cry. Baby victim on your show. Just saying what I want. Look anybody who wants to live in a safer country would want it to have known. What went wrong to allow this douchebag mental case to be able to carry out such a mass shooting civilized society? That's what we were hoping for some kind of investigation into the breach of security at the Mandalay bay. But fifteen months later, we have to law enforcement agencies. There include. Asian to make sure to preserve the integrity and image of the multi billion dollar business of casinos in Vegas. What do you think? What do you think MGM the parent company? What should they have done during that time? That paddock was staying there. What what is it that they should have known? How would they have known it? How should they have reacted? Yeah. Great question. Well, and you can't answer that question in a vacuum. Your your listeners need to know, the all the full facts leading up to the shooting and six months prior to that shooting. There was a credible. Isis threat of a lone wolf gunman. There was going to attack casinos in Vegas. Hello. That's called red flag. Warning, what people don't with every month all the casinos in Vegas where meeting with sheriff Lombardo. His crisis team with federal homeland security all these casinos. You guys were supposed to be raping up their security to be on higher alert, for example, have security guards that have guns, right? None of the guards Mandalay bay had a gun. Don't let gas use freight. Elevators look for suspicious backs. This guy stayed there. What three or four days carried up? What was he too far out of the range of how you'd profile an ISIS member? No, no. I think what the real with the real problem is. Is a culture of this high wrote this this world of high rollers within these casinos. They are pampered the their paper more than a playboy playmate. I mean, you can do whatever you want as a as a high rocks. What does your spending money they will? They will look the other way cultures that are that are propagated in these casinos in my opinion, aided and abetted. This paddock to get away with a look at the housekeeping rules. I mean, they broke the rules there. Every other casino. You're supposed to be you know, every twenty four hours you're in there where the alarms on the on the win on the windows. There were no alarms. They're supposed to be. Where's the video surveillance in the hallways? There wasn't any. There should have been. Can you hang on Brian goes? Yeah. No problems. We're talking to thanks to we're talking to Brian clay pool. Attorney with his own law firm, and of course, been on our show many times before over topics concerning the sex abuse of students in such a schools, but. He happened to be in Vegas on October. First twenty seventeen at the festival the route ninety one harvest festival when the gunfire broke out from the thirty second floor of the Mandalay bay resort and casino shooter. Stephen paddock killed fifty eight people injured many more there's been a new FBI report on the shooting. But but boy it's going through which is kind of fascinating is really the laps and on the part of security MGM owns Mandalay bay. He says it goes beyond that. I it seems like the whole city is protecting the vaunted casino industry. We'll talk more with Brian when we come back. John and Ken KFI your chance to win a thousand.

"Back in October two thousand seventeen that's when Stephen paddock killed fifty eight people nearly nine hundred others were injured in the melee. Paddock then shot and killed himself was the single deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. The FBI could not find any clear motive NPR's Leila Fadel joins us now from Las Vegas and Layla. First of all tell us a little more about the FBI's probe into this. So the FBI shared its key findings from this report from the behavioral analysis unit and experts spent nearly a year pouring over information and evidence, and they still couldn't find a single clear motive shooter wasn't driven by a religious, social political agenda. He acted alone. They didn't find a manifesto a suicide note of video or really anything to explain why he did this. But the. The report also said that often shooters don't have any singular big motive behind these really senseless acts of violence is often a combination of things like in this case. The report found that the shooter was at least in part driven by the desire to die by suicide. And remember he did kill himself at the end of this horrific shooting, and he wanted to be infamous now, what makes the FBI think that he wanted to die. Well, the reports findings depicted man whose physical and mental health were declining. He wasn't a healthy sixty four year old. And apparently, he was making plans that you make at the end of your life, and he wanted to take control of of how he died, and he might have also been inspired by his father who was a Bank robber and fugitive and was on the FBI's top ten most wanted list in nineteen sixty eight this was also very carefully planned the shooter stockpile of weapons and ammunition ammunition, and he went on this year long buying spree at forty seven firearms the day, he opened fire on these people. And he was researching police tactics and response ballistics, and he was going to different sites to figure out where he could inflict the most damage on a lot of people, but he didn't have a particular grudge against the people he shot or the hotel. He chose to do it from. He just wanted to hurt people. And the FBI report found that the shooter didn't have much empathy that he that he saw people through this transactional lens and so- hurting people that were just out having fun matched his personality. So many people were affected by this. What are survivor saying today? Yeah, I spoke with Mendez Smith, and and her sister was shot and killed and her name was Nisha Tong. She was a single mother of three boys. Those boys now being raised by their grandparents here in Las Vegas. And she said she'd rather that the shooter take the reasons he did this to his grave, and he'd be alive. Honestly to not have the answers in exchange for not having to deal with him. I'm okay with that. You know, I truly believe that if he had lived he. He would have just made my parents life miserable. Keeping we would have been caught up in in trials and having to listen to things that he would say the Las Vegas police closed their investigation over the summer also found no motive, no why. So no one's looking into that anymore and a lot a lot of people really do want to know why? But for others, this aftermath has been just traumatizing and emotionally exhausting. And that they're the last thing they're thinking about is the motive that's NPR's. Leila fadel. Thank you. Thank you for having me..

"But Tateishi has the ability to come on and be be a type of player that a kunia has and be the type of superstar that that didn't start the season with the team came in and may and June and just exploded a young staff. That's unheralded. That's that's potentially coming. Paddock's got the ability to be an ace and he could be here next season. So there's a lot of excitement here, and I can understand the fan base wanting them. To spend money because for so long. We've just been neglected. We've just been kicked to the curb. And and and I definitely understand those feelings, but at this point we made it through two thousand sixteen we made it to two thousand seventeen to two thousand eighteen what's one more year? And I definitely see a positive nece in the season. I definitely see this team trending in the right direction. I don't expect for them to compete, and there's only one World Series champion as the dodgers if they're happy about being two time, second-place champions. Are they happy about winning the west three years in a row the main matab sweepstakes? I I have dodger fans that are in my family.
