"Like I'm just watching basketball. And so I'm not picking up the emotions of the locker room and the relationships that have to be managed and trying to run sets. But certain guys can't do certain things like I have a hard time really diving down that rabbit hole and saying a guy needs to get fired. I watch a lot of Sacramento Kings games. There was not a single Sacramento Kings game that I watched last year where I didn't think they got to get this guy out of here as it pertained to Luke Walton. There wasn't a single game where I go Luke's really got him cooking tonight. Every single game it was. What the hell is this? This is the most disorganized, nonsensical team. I've ever seen. This is bad coaching. He is the textbook example of doesn't know what he's doing with this squad. Watch the team win 60 games this year because I just said that. But like, it is incredible. Credit to Luke Walton, who apparently can not be fired for any reason because I can think of about 20 right now that I would have fired him for already. Yeah. I know they were other than that. Good luck to them. I know they went on like they won 6 out of 7 late. I mean, they beat like a always a great standard. Underman Lakers team, they beat the thunder who were tanking. They beat a pacers team that I don't want to be here anymore was the epitome of that team by the end of the year. And they beat the thunder so much shit on them. In that 6 of 7 like wins the overtly taking thunder. This team made the Portland Trail Blazers defense look competent. Yeah, that's all I have to say about that. The blazers are bad on defense. They made they somehow had a worse defensive rating than last year's Houston Rockets. They made Karl Anthony towns in D'angelo Russell look like frigging, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. It's just wild. The whole thing is the hell of outta here. The hell up outta here. The whole thing is just crazy to me. Luke Walton is still the coach of this team is it's a choice for sure. Again, who else wants to coach the Sacramento king? I will say like on paper, I am excited about a good amount of them. You'll do it on this team. That's what you're talking about. I will not coach the kings. I am very happy here. Sacramento's lovely. I have been there a couple times. Very similar, very similar climate to a certain parts of Australia, so it might be an easy transition. I like a lot of the players on the kings. I really think Harrison Barnes is one of the most underrated players in the league now. I think that Darren Fox is a future all star. I think tyrese Halliburton is going to be one of the absolute best role players in the NBA. He's a $100 million player, like absolutely amazing. I thought rashawn Holmes. He's marvels. He's one of the better offensive centers in terms of finishing ability..

"The Bay Area is over. Our favorite team here in the bay. Yeah. We read me through that transaction list. They resigned rashawn Holmes to a four year $47 million deal, rashawn Holmes, this year's absolute winner of the contract reporting chicanery. It was originally reported a four 55 when it was not a four 55 deal. It came in at four 47, because that's what he was allowed to sign under his early bird rights. Scientists, I love the agency chicanery. It's always hilarious. It's incredible. Scientists Davis to a two year $8 million deal. They traded delan right for Tristan Thompson, which was a bit strange. They re signed moho harkless to a two year $9 million deal. They drafted davion Mitchell and nimi Keita. They signed Alex Len to a two year $8 million deal. Look, they did what they had to do this summer. They resigned rashawn Holmes to a deal that I think is phenomenal for what he is. And they drafted Davey on Mitchell and Davey on Mitchell looks absolutely great. Yeah. I don't know if they got better though. I don't know who they got better compared to other teams in the west, but I do think I think Davey on Mitchell really helps them because he is first off. He already has a bitch and Nick. He has a bitchin nickname off. It's incredible. It's an incredible name. It's so good. It's so fucking good. It hurts. He is, as you would expect from somebody his age and with his pedigree ready to rumble as you noted. He might be the talisman for some sort of a change. What's more likely is that this team is pretty much the same as it was last year. And by the way, this buddy healed situation, which had a level of toxicity to it, I think, is fair to say, has not been resolved. Marvin Bagley and all of that has not been resolved. Tristan Thompson, that's going to work out great. Everyone's really expecting big things there and not, you know, a deep level of peculiarity that will almost certainly show up come Thanksgiving. But at least they have tyrese Halliburton who's fucking awesome and dearen fox who's fucking awesome and Alex Lin might be good for him too and rashawn Holmes got paid as well he should have..

"Out of this grouping of Dwight monk, Anthony baze more none aresa. What player you most excited about? If you're the Lakers. I think monk has to be the guy just because he's still maintains upside. I don't know if none is of that same ilk. I just found it strange that monk was available. I understand what Charlotte was doing and not necessarily wanting to hold them in at a high number, but I have a feeling like we're going to be a month into the season and the prevailing narrative on the talking head shows is. How did Malik monk end up with the Lakers? That's not fair. That kind of stuff. And it might not play out in the playoffs, but that's he gives them a chance to be more than just that specialist sort of role play. I think he has a chance to really on some nights be the number three option on nights when he got no Davis no LeBron, the number two option and B extremely viable in that. Mello will get the headlines and we'll talk about that and he'll have a couple 30 point games because he just stands in the corner and knocks down all the shots given to him by great point guard play from LeBron and Westbrook, but I think bunk is as far in a way the most interesting one. Do you agree or do you have somebody else? I think he's the most interesting one for sure. He had a really, really good fourth season that I think went a little bit under the radar once he entered the rotation. He missed a bunch of games in April, but from you look at January 30th through March 26th. So that's a 25 game stretch. Malik monk avers like 15 points a game? Yeah. And who's actually starting to showcase that he was really, really good. Look, he's going to be kind of spoon fed open looks in a way that he hasn't really gotten the chance to experience in the past. And that's interesting to me. That's actually really, really interesting to me. If I'm a Lakers fan, I think that he could end up having a really, really good year for them. The Kendrick nun thing, I mean, whatever he's fine, I guess. You know what he is at this point. There's not some untapped talent, just sitting there waiting to be exploited. He'll be some good games where Kendrick nunn performs. And he'll be a steady Eddie. And he'll enjoy standing in the corner and knocking down shots. The problem is that he is a pretty significant defensive liability in monkeys too, but like they went out and they got Carmelo Anthony. He was another defensive liability. And they're going to be very reliant on dudes like Taylor Horton Tucker Trent or Trevor ariza and Kent bazemore. In particular, a recent days more to still be something defensively. And that's what worries me. That's going to be quite something. I mean, the Aretha thing is, I'm not sure why you would buy in on that other than sort of LA fountain of youth logic..

"Returned, dieter. Hi, Sam. How are you doing, man? I'm good, man. I'm good. And I will demand an apology after the show is done. I guarantee that. Why would you ever demand an apology? Listen, I haven't been on in a while and bob Myers and I have gotten together and we've decided that you need to apologize. We're gonna we're gonna make we're not gonna make bob that angry, I don't think on this show, I think we're gonna talk about your reasonably and yes, no, no, no. I need to get in a pot shot about all of that. Before we really got into the nitty Gritty, I want to talk some real basketball, not the drama. Let's have some fun here. Dieter, how you doing? How is how are things? You're on the radio, like many hours a day and you're writing. And it feels like you've got a lot going on in your life. Tell the truth. I do what's going on. I do, but this is the good stuff, right? Like forty-niners training camp is going, the warriors are in this fascinating transitional phase, clearly post dynasty, but trying to stay relevant and setting up for something in the future and you've got summerly going on and as you well know, I think you wrote roughly a 100,000 words about summer league. And then baseball's happening, which is something old people who read my newspaper still care about. Oh boy, it's a great time to be in the bay. Pretty much goes without saying most of the time, but right now it feels especially fertile for somebody like me. And yeah, I'm excited to be back though. I mean, this is one of my first love Sam talking talking some hoofs with you. So I'm glad to be able to do it again. Yeah. I mean, just enjoying we find ways to get together and talk on the phone, but often we're so busy that we just struggle unless we're doing something for the content. It's tough. Yeah, we need that anchor. We need that thing to pull us, and we gotta stay together for the content, you know? Yeah, yeah. I mean, we try to call. We try to text. We try to get times together. And it's just it ends up being tricky, 'cause I'm on the other side of the world now. It's really my fault. Like moving moving to the other side of the world is just like completely. I feel it. I feel like this is payback because we used to get together like every Friday bar none and shoot the shit for hours on end at the beanery. And then I moved to the bay, moved back to the bay and fuck that up, and you're like, I'm gonna one up you curtain buck. I move into fucking Australia, deal with it. And oh my God. We could probably all deal with it better, but anytime we snap right back into it..

"It's just sitting. There could only win it on the app. All right now we're gonna go to the last team in the pacific of saved the big name for last Golden state warriors their projected at forty nine and a half wins which is the third highest total in this division They won Thirty nine games. in seventy two season game season last year that was fifty four percent. Win percentage So that would be forty. Four games in eighty two games. He's a well under their projections but everybody expects them to get better. They're really hoping that klay thompson comes back. Full steam So that's like the biggest edition obviously would be klay thompson back into the starting role. The kept wigan's Kept wise been. They added granola and porter system. Savvy veterans They drafted coming guy who seem the ceiling. Seems very high for that guy. But he's still seems like a raw talents. I don't think he's going to help them. Much next season we saw wiseman not really windy up the wind games i season so hopefully hopefully for warriors fans he makes a jump. But i'm not sure how much you can really rely on him yet. As good as curry is with klay thompson. We don't know how klay is gonna look so at the forty nine and a half. I feel like that number is kinda jacked up a little high because there's so many warriors fans and people want to bet the over on them. I think that's why the numbers up but What do you think I'm definitely a little high on the worst too. i think i think they're gonna Put up they might start off a little slow like with clay when clay gets back like by christmas time. They're going to start off slow getting him oriented back into their offense to. I think i think they might hit the ground and he comes back and get definitely close to that win. Total parity in the west in the bisher is ridiculous that i think it's hard to put a lot of teams. You now down or anything. But yeah drafting. Communica moses moody. I think yes same thing. Like how me have too much of an impact. I don't see Having too much of an impact his for sure also if they can get a high enough seed him he might get some looks for you know contention rookie of the year contention stuff like that if he really does put in. But i don't know that's asking a lot from john mingo first year to come in play with steph and boost offense to more than it already is with steph including i feel like he's gonna have. He's not gonna have enough touches to get that kind of rookie of the year. Look yeah yeah so it does like staff and klay both went down again or something like that like featuring him show for sure all year. Yeah i definitely don't see mingora that rookies me or moody getting enough touches to make an impact. I do see them. Battling for mid spot in the west maybe four.

"And you said it in your question at the line. I loved to say the lakers on off switch is and has always been a problem for this team nine. we'll get a potential match up with the warriors in the plan which something that people are speculating about. Because obviously you love the lebron steph storyline. This may not happen but just for the fun of it. You now have the early title favorites playing a team that has one of the most unguardable players to ever play the game. No lakers fan wants that. And it's really telling about the lakers themselves. Don't wanna considering will bron praise the play in tournament up until the point where his team might be in it in terms of going forward. The lakers have played well a lot more energy last night against the denver nuggets than they had kind of leading up to that. I believe that martha saul should be playing a lot more than he has been. I understand the lakers. Just got drummond. They want to integrate him into their rotations. But gazelle is just so much more productive. He's a higher. I q player. He makes the right. Plays a solid. Defensively the lakers are better with him. And i'd love to see him get more time. Lebron came back to the lakers lineup. In the game against the kings he sat out last night against the not get to the store ankle but ad has been ramping things up in his game. We'll see how the team is able to close things out. But like i said things could get chaotic in the bottom of the west. And i'm i'm loving every single bit of it and how the clippers. Obviously having clinched a playoff berth on a three game losing streak seven years in the regular season but what really paying attention to to see. Does team have what it takes to keep their great shooting from the regular season being one of the best teams ever do it into the playoffs and not not collapsed if you did last year. There's three habits that i'm going to be paying attention to. What the clippers as they finish off this season. They'll carry into the playoffs and that turnovers assists and defensive intensity in terms of turnovers coughing. The ball up has been initial while season. Especially for paul george on the clippers. Be more intentional in value the ball on their possessions. especially when. You're the type of caliber player. That paul george is. You're an all star. You're a superstar. You have to value the ball and you have to ensure that your team is having quality possessions and then on the assists and basketball is really about ball movement and player movement. Which is something. You'd hear me say a lot at some point. Yeah you do rely on individual talent to be able to make a play but getting the defense to shift and move makes it a whole lot easier for guys to create those times. Look and with the town in debt. That the clippers have. It's almost scary to think about. How much offense. They can create when moving the ball because they're threats spread out all over the court. The clippers led the league in scoring frequency and points per possession on spot-ups..

"Hoops today. We're joined by pacific. Division expert on anurag avant cubic down the past week of nba action. For the clippers. Kings lakers songs in warriors. A nine little by the warriors and what they're doing now in the slash fisher games taught to make that plan spot. Make things right the playing a bunch of the playing a bunch of games against teams. That are right there with them. What are these last few weeks thing for them. I often want to say. Congratulations to steph curry on being name. Western conference player of the mom also congratulated. julius randle. Just because you're next fan. John got up there that in there. But i i. It's not at all surprising. He was even more prolific than ever setting the single month record for threes may while averaging thirty seven points on fifty four ninety splits just absolutely insane basketball when i'm at the warriors games. I just do nothing but laugh when he throws up a crazy shot because there are no words to describe it. Not you hit the nail on the head when you said that this is like a really important stretch of games. they're playing teams that potentially are competing with them for that plan spot yesterday. They played the pelicans who most likely will not make the playoffs. But the warriors need to win these kinds of games in order to secure their standing and then they'll close off the regular season with a match against memphis which will likely determine whether they'll end up. You know seven eight or nine so a lot of important games now. The warriors have to be more locked in have all season for this final push. They did that in their first. Matchup with the pelicans this week. They did that in the second half against the rockets earlier in the week. And what's really important as for stephan. Draymond to set the tone as the veterans on the team with playoff experience. And they got to lead this group to that plane game. Nobody in the league is gonna want to take their chances against steph. Curry a winner takes all type of game. And this is just the kind of stakes that makes this part of the season. So fun so chaotic. The western conference standings are so up in the air as the regular season draws to a close and anxious to see how things shake out for the warriors. And then another to ask you one thing. But what's really surprising is the lakers. And how they cut him playing with a bit of an on off switch on the potential play mantra with the warriors that they keep on. It's slipping that switch stays off. What do you think's gonna had with them on the on off lurch. I get it. It's fine but i. Yeah how the lakers got to. This point is by messing around early in the season. Not taking game seriously. I was really hard them for that. Initial stretch in. It's because of moments like this. When you get laid into the season all of a sudden in the middle you lose your best players for an extended stretch of time and the defending champs are on the cusp of being one of the play in teams..

"Welcome to hoops today. Where joe map. Pacific division expert. An anurag oven here to break down the path of action. For the clippers kings lakers sons and warriors ninety. This is the big episode. One hundred and started things off with the warriors. You in a big moment this week and you have to meet splash brother klay thompson. How does it mean happen. What was it like tells the story behind the picture. Everyone on jerusalem instagram. Tell us all it tells about it. Well clay is my favorite player on the warriors and just generally one of my favorite players in the nba. I got to be in the building for one of his icon. Ick game six moments against toronto on the twenty nine hundred finals. Unfortunately that was also the game that he tore his acl. And you know when he came down off of that dunk and i saw his knee twist. I knew right away that it was just kind of. If you've been on the basketball world you you know what an acl tear looks like. But that moment worked. He ran back onto the court. The arena just erupts. It's deafening. I start tearing out. Because i was like. Oh my god like this has got to be one of the toughest i've ever seen. And he hits sauce free. Those tries to run back on. Defense is I love everything about clay and How i got the picture. One of the guys that i work with on the stats correct. The warriors team chaplain. And he's been doing it for a few decades now so knowing that clay is my favorite player. He asked if. I'd like to me and get a picture with him sometime. And of course. I said yes. We've been waiting for an opportunity for few games now to be able to ask clay. And that chance came during the milwaukee game..

"Gen z hoops today. What specific division expert on anurag avoid hubris down the passage of nba action including all the trade deadline. Excitement for the clippers kings lakers suns warriors. A ninety to start things off. The words were relatively quiet. The deadline only two small moves made. What the decision that. They made to not make a big trader. So the two moves that you're referring to are sending brad bombmaker to the charlotte. Hornets and marquees. Krista the san antonio spurs these moves. Make sense to me because it clears to roster spots with a number of players still set to be free agents off buyouts. I expect one of those roster spots to go to want this gano anderson who's currently on a two way contract and has proven himself to be a very steady player for the warriors in has just always made the right place now. Brad wanamaker has struggled all season. And since the all-star break the warriors seemed committed to playing pool in nico manion in these rotation minutes which those guys have absolutely earned with their play in the g. league with golden state when they returned. Marcus chris. trade is a bit of obama to make. Because i think he fits with the warriors. Do very well. He's an athletic big. Who was versatile on both ends of the floor. Unfortunately we haven't gotten to see him this year because of the season ending foot andrew that occurred early on but that being said he is going to be a free agent. This summer and i would be surprised if the warriors didn't try to bring him back. He's a guy that they really like. And i'm sure would love to see him with the roster again now ultimately. I think the words were smart. The hold off on making a big trade. The pieces that were moved across the nba. Were not ones that we're necessarily going to change the course of this team. This year has turned into much of a learning year for the warriors with klay. Being out staff is now missing. A good amount of time with his tailbone contusion and they're being a lot of young new pieces who needs to learn the game in the warrior system. Golden state has one of the biggest assets in minnesota draft. Pick this year which is top three protected. Nf minnesota does end up in the bottom three that pick defaults to next year so unless the warriors were able to pull off a trade for a bradley beal caliber player. This is something to be patient on. No matter how much we all wanna see. The team compete for championships every year. That steph curry is on the roster..

"And <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> <Silence> <Speech_Male> then when you <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> look at the health of anthony <Speech_Female> davis <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> his timeline <Speech_Female> incoming <Speech_Female> back off <Speech_Female> that achilles injury <Speech_Female> and how healthy <Speech_Female> he will be is <Speech_Female> going to be a big determining <Speech_Female> factor in. How <Speech_Female> this team does <Speech_Female> you really. Don't want <Speech_Female> to rush it with <Speech_Female> this kind of injury <Speech_Female> and mess with <Speech_Female> that because we've seen what <Speech_Female> can happen with that. <Speech_Female> But he's such <Speech_Female> a key part of <Speech_Female> this team that <Speech_Female> they're gonna need <Speech_Female> him at some point <Speech_Female> hopping over <Speech_Female> to sacramento <Speech_Female> pick. Here <Speech_Female> is marvin <Speech_Female> bagley. The third <Speech_Female> i think <Speech_Female> that although he's been <Speech_Female> solid <Speech_Female> and consistent <Speech_Female> this year the <Speech_Female> kings are going to any <Speech_Female> more from him in <Speech_Female> order for them <Speech_Female> to reach their potential <Speech_Female> and he hasn't quite <Speech_Female> lived up to the <Speech_Female> position that the kings <Speech_Female> drafted him and <Speech_Female> yet he pretty <Speech_Female> much lost last <Speech_Female> year due to injury <Speech_Female> but now that <Speech_Female> he's back and healthy <Speech_Female> this year in order <Speech_Female> for the kings to <Speech_Female> grow <Speech_Female> as a team. <Speech_Female> They're relying <Speech_Female> on their own guys. <Speech_Female> They've got from <Speech_Female> good draft positions <Speech_Female> to step up. <Speech_Female> We've seen the <Speech_Female> end fox entire <Speech_Female> halberg. Play <Speech_Female> their parts. Buddy <Speech_Female> healed has been <Speech_Female> solid <Speech_Female> and now marvin <Speech_Female> bagley needs <Speech_Female> to elevate his <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> game to the next <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> level. And then <Speech_Female> finishing off with <Speech_Female> the clippers. <Speech_Female> It's intuitive <Speech_Female> to say that <Speech_Female> the stars are the <Speech_Female> biggest determinant <Speech_Female> of success for a team. <Speech_Female> But i'm <Speech_Female> gonna go with paul <Speech_Female> george and kawhi leonard <Speech_Female> here <Speech_Female> and not just <Speech_Female> about how they <Speech_Female> play but whether <Speech_Female> or not they're available <Speech_Female> to play <Speech_Female> co is already <Speech_Female> missed eight games. <Speech_Female> This season <Speech_Female> and georgia's missed eleven <Speech_Female> so for <Speech_Female> this team to <Speech_Female> be able to build chemistry <Speech_Female> and live up to what <Speech_Female> they could be. They <Speech_Female> need these guys to <Speech_Female> be in as many games <Speech_Female> as possible <Speech_Female> so that the team can <Speech_Female> learn how to play together <Speech_Female> and how their pieces <Speech_Female> fit together <Speech_Female> in order <SpeakerChange> to make a <Silence> championship team. <Speech_Male> Finally <Speech_Male> robert trumpet the show. <Speech_Male> Can we go back these <Speech_Male> later on. But what's one prediction <Speech_Male> that you have <Speech_Male> each of your teams <Speech_Male> in the second half <SpeakerChange> of its regular season <Speech_Female> for <Speech_Female> the warriors. I'm <Speech_Female> gonna say that they're <Speech_Female> gonna finish <Speech_Female> as the seventeen <Speech_Female> and a half <Speech_Female> to ultimately play <Speech_Female> in the play in <Speech_Female> round. there's a number <Speech_Female> of <Speech_Female> teams the bottom <Speech_Female> part of the west. <Speech_Female> That have <Speech_Female> played <Speech_Female> well in this first half <Speech_Female> but of kind of pick things <Speech_Female> up like dallas. <Speech_Female> And i expect them <Speech_Female> to <Speech_Female> kind of rise in the playoff <Speech_Female> rankings. A little <Speech_Male> bit so for the <Speech_Female> warriors. I <Speech_Female> don't want this for <Speech_Female> them in. The team <SpeakerChange> doesn't <Speech_Female> want this but i think <Speech_Female> that they're ultimately <Speech_Female> going to be in that plan <Speech_Female> round <Speech_Female> for the signs although <Speech_Female> their second <Speech_Female> in the west right. Now i'm <Speech_Female> gonna say that they <Silence> finish sixth <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> portland and denver <Speech_Female> have been playing <Speech_Female> really well. <Speech_Female> And that's without <Speech_Female> cj mccollum <Speech_Female> portland and <Speech_Female> what some inconsistent <Speech_Female> play from denver. <Speech_Female> So far <Speech_Female> the sons are certainly <Speech_Female> a playoff team. <Speech_Female> But i <Speech_Female> don't think they're as <Speech_Male> good as the record <Speech_Female> shows <Speech_Female> and those other two <Speech_Female> teams that i mentioned <Speech_Female> will probably <Speech_Female> finish for <Speech_Female> in the foreign <Speech_Female> five spots. <Speech_Female> So <Speech_Female> yeah i'm gonna go <Speech_Female> with the sons dropping <Speech_Female> to <Speech_Female> six in the west <Speech_Female> for the lakers. <Speech_Female> I'm going to <Silence> say

"Welcome to gen z hoops. Today we're joined by our pacific division. Expert a uraga here to break down the path of nba action. For the clippers. Kings lakers sons and warriors. And what's going on. Hey john i'm doing well. On week of basketball. I got to work a lot of warriors games. They just had a four game homestand. We have the exciting nets game. Where i got to see my favorite player. Kevin durant returned to the bay area. you know didn't play all that great i just i love seen the guy and all the love he got than we had orlando miami which was a super exciting game and there will also cleveland in there so just a lot of great basketball this past week. Awesome stuff indefinitely from last week's episode or just knowing you general that kate katie's determine so much to you Last week obvious. That was a big point of what we're talking about. What happened in that game was that returned like just the start off with the warriors tribute to kevin durant. Katie gave a lot to the bay area including three years of his prime and two championships. The warriors had an incredible tribute video for him and there was just a ton of love and respect in the building he was chopping it up with draymond and staff before the game. He went over and said hi. Bob myers at halftime. And while i wish there could have been fans to see him and show him that love in his return it was just great to see the mutual admiration going on to talk about the game itself steph. Finish this game with twenty seven points. But he struggled from the three ending his streak at fourteen games of hitting for more in a game can't bays more eric pascoe where the highest for the team in this game being the only warriors with a positive plus minus but just generally brooklyn's offense was too much for the warriors to handle james. Aren had a brilliant game with nineteen points and sixteen assists us. Just making some incredibly tough passes where he's essentially just throwing guys open for easy layups. I can't even count. How many just cutting layups jeff. Green joe harris and all these guys got just because of the passes that james harden was making without clay. This was always going to be a tough match up for the warriors at this moment. But i think overall what i take from that game is just the return of kevin durant and the love that he got from the organization also and then aside from that game. How did the rest of the week for the dubs. The next four games for the warriors they went to into on after they lost brooklyn. They followed that up with wins against the cleveland. Cavaliers a thrilling comeback overtime win against miami before losing to orlando last night. The win against miami. Put them three games above five hundred for the first time. This season draymond green was a late scratch for that game with right ankle soreness but even without him. The warriors put together a really balanced effort. Steph didn't particularly shoot the ball well again going eight twenty five from the field and five twenty three so other guys needed to step up and they did. That can't base moorhead a season. High twenty six points on ten of nineteen shooting along with four seven from three and eight rebounds. Kelly oubre had twenty three points on nine and fifteen shooting. Paschal had eleven on four or five shooting and then to top that off. Andrew wiggins finished with twenty three points on eight of sixteen shooting and a game-high plus twenty five. So this kind of bounce balance effort is crucial for the warriors to be successful this season because without clay opposing teams are able to hone in on staff and double and triple team and although he's playing just masterful basketball right now..

"Maybe get to the free throw line utilize the mid range game. Move the ball a little more to get cleaner looks so if the team can do this then they'll be fine going forward. The kings finished off the week with a really bad loss against the orlando magic. last night. They were playing this game without during fox and but in spite of that they they really shouldn't have lost this game. They had eighteen turnovers. The magic were playing on the second night of a back to back orlando in. General is a team. That's been decimated by injuries. They only had nine guys active. Nikola vukovich was able to put up a career. High forty two points on seventeen of twenty two shooting which tells me that the canes weren't making things hard for him he's basically the only guy orlando has to play through offensively and he was able to have an extremely efficient shooting game. Which tells me that the pressure on him wasn't what it should have been so the team has been playing so well up to this point that you hope that this is an anomaly. Which is something that inevitably happens over the course of a season. But i'm looking to see the kings bounce back to what they were doing for. The last few weeks going forward file hanging over to the pacific division leading los angeles lakers. You've had a love hate relationship with since i met you. Have you been looking lately. Right now the lakers are the hottest team in the league with the seven game win streak and you mentioned that love hate relationship so i just wanna put this out as a disclaimer. Hate the lakers. I'm tough on them because they are such a team with two of the best players in the league yet. They just seem to be going through the motions lately. I understand the frustration. That lakers fans must feel at this because in katie second year with the warriors are see that a lot because they were just so much better than everyone else that they felt that they can turn it on and off at any point in time now. The difference between this lakers team in that warriors team is that there's a lot more competition that the lakers are gonna have to go through in order to win a championship again and building. These habits is something that could get them in trouble this week. They played a lot of extra basketball. Going to double overtime against the pistons. Who once again are not a good basketball team than they had back to back. Overtime wins against the thunder..

Nikola vukovich seventeen last night nine guys eighteen turnovers this week seven game second night second year katie orlando forty two points twenty two shooting los angeles lakers two of the best players lakers last few weeks warriors fox

"This season seems to be putting both sides of his game together. The best that i've seen him do it. And that makes the clippers a really scary team to contend with following up that loss to the nets clippers had a blowout victory against the cleveland. Cavaliers paul george was spectacular. Thirty six points on thirteen of twenty shooting with six assists. You've heard me be hard on him. All season about his turnovers. And how he needs to mitigate those we'll this game he had zero over also. It was just a beautiful overall. Game from paul george. Unfortunately he was out last night against the celtics in four point lost for the clippers with swelling in his right foot. We hope he's ok and recover soon because if he continues to play the way that he's been this year. There's not a lot of teams that you can say are better than the clippers. W some fun stuff. Going on over there for the clippers and then how about the suns who started the season pretty hop but have you seen them able to keep that up. We mentioned last week that this has been an inconsistent team. The season and injuries definitely played a role in that. Since the start of the season this has been the best week of suns basketball. They went three on the week. Beating dallas twice in detroit wants and their only loss coming to the pelicans devon booker was able to return to the lineup in the second game against dallas. And it doesn't look like he's missed a beat. He averaged twenty four points per game on the week thing going over to the sons defense their rank fifth in the nba and opponent points per game giving up only one hundred and eight a game in all three of their wins this week. They held their opponents at or below this average and in their won loss they gave up a hundred and twenty. Three points to the pelicans. So if this team plays like they're capable of defensively on a nightly basis..

"Had a career high sixteen points on six of nine shooting going three three three from three point line. He followed that up with fourteen point. Eight rebound and five assists game against the mavericks. One play that he had in the first half against dallas was just beautiful winning basketball. He had the ball on the left wing saw that curry was on the baseline and had the opportunity. Set him up for a shot. So won- swung the ball backup to draymond up top. Set a pin down for steph. Who came off the screen and nailed a three so this is just a guy who understands the game and as a vital part of what the warriors are getting definitely think about how guys like jj playing for the warriors and the movies over to sacramento. Kings have shown constant over the last two weeks. What do you attribute this success. To first off we want to congratulate. Tirees halliburton on being named western conference. Rookie of the month for the games. That were played in december january. There's four rookies in the western conference. Who were selected ahead of halliburton including the top. Two picks in the draft with anthony. And james wiseman so that just shows the impact that this guy is having in the early part of the season. For the king's talking about this week the kings went to and one on the week. Losing by one to miami in a tough game and following up. What a win against the pelicans in the celtics ever since that four game losing streak in january. The defense has really hunkered down for this team for an average. Nba team the team about one hundred ten points per game in over the first fifteen games for the kings. They gave up over one hundred and ten points per game thirteen times in the last six games..

"The earn fox was not as efficient in his scoring this week as he has been on the season but in spite of that he still found a way to contribute an average seven assists per game on the week so that just shows that he is developing that maturity that is needed in order for him to be able to lead this team although the kings are still last in the pacific division unwelcome in the west. The teams has shown a lot of growth over their last three games. And if that continues they can be one of the plane seeds in the west in the western conference. The top three seeds are pretty much going to be locked between utah and the to la teams in some type of order but after that spots for through ten are pretty much up for grabs and if sacramento continues the trend in this direction. They can sneak into the playoffs. Interesting analysis right there and switching back over to the theme of inconsistent teams from the beginning. The clippers have been able to get the same lineup on the floor night in night out. What do you see that being a problem for them down the line last year. One of the biggest things at the clippers talked about following their postseason. Exit was the fact that the team wasn't able to build the chemistry that they needed to be a championship level team due to the fact that guys were not playing together on a nightly basis and that seems to be something that they're going to have to overcome this year going forward so they went to one on the week. They played two games without kawhi. Leonard and paul george which going forward you hope to not be a trend for this team. 'cause like i said they need to be able to build that chemistry there. One loss to the atlanta hawks. What they followed that up with two wins in a row against the miami heat. Orlando magic the win against miami is a really good one for this team because they were able to be them without kawhi paul george. Nicolas batum led the way with eighteen points on six threes serge. Ibaka was excellent with.

"Rabbit things up with one of the hottest teams in the nba. Right now. how the clippers. Be able to turn it on. The clippers are on a six game. Win streak right now. And last week when i talked about them. I said that if they have championship aspirations they need to defend better and they really did this week. In their game against the pacers and the kings they held both teams to ninety six points which was a low on. The season for clipper opponents. And this is with the indiana team that averages andrea in twelve points per game a kings team that averages under thirteen while clipper opponents in general average one. Oh eight so they really help. Teams below average is in all of these categories. And it's really great to see that. This team is making more of a commitment to that end of the ball because they should be a championship. Level team am not side of the game is really important anonymously. Lost a few key bench pieces going into the season. Have you seen their benchtop to make a comeback against the pacers. The bench really led the way for this team. Luke kennard and monte morris senior both put up twenty points each with patrick patterson contributing to end on really efficient offense and as we know stars are what really drives a team but the bench is the anchor and so for any team. That is supposed to be as good as the clippers are. That bench is going to need to contribute on a nightly basis and seeing that against the pacers is really huge for this team. Having one of the most explosive dynamic duos in the league has always told a soil for the clippers how their stars playing against both the kings and the thunder their star power really lead the way against the kings coli. Leonard had thirty two points on thirteen of twenty two shooting and then against the thunder last night. He had thirty one on ten of twenty one shooting coming in with paul george. He tied his career high for assists in a game with twelve against the kings and he dropped twenty nine point seven rebounds and five assists against the thunder and my mentioned last week. That paul george is just having a stellar season. Averaging around twenty five points a game with fifty fifty ninety splits this guy is just on an tear. He's early front runner in mvp race. Or at least he's got to be in the conversation. He's averaging a career high in assists per game five point six. He's also averaging a career high and phil. Gould percentage three point field senate and free throw percentage while these things are great the one aspect of his game that i will pick on is his turnovers because he's averaging a career high at three point nine a game he needs to be able to control this. I'm kind of dial back the turnovers and you know his detractors are always gonna say no matter how great he plays in the regular season. He needs to replicate that in the playoffs. But to me both things. Cannon are simultaneously. True paul george is having an incredible start to the season and he will need to replicate this performance in the playoffs. In order for the clippers to do what they want to do but one thing doesn't take away from the other..

"Playoff with an an one. Unfortunately booker got hurt on this play and wasn't able to play the last minute of the game. So hopefully he's gonna be okay but he's making just winning. Plays this season. And it's it's great to see awesome thinking about all the great young sons have but how about some of the older guys. Where have you seen. The new veteran leadership lead to some wins for veteran one. One part of their game is struggling. They know that they have to impact the game in different ways. And that's exactly what chris. Paul did last night he did not shoot the ball well But he had fourteen first half assists tying his career. High any finished the game with fifteen so while you know one aspect of his game wasn't following his ability to hit shots he made. He made the team better by impacting. It in a different way and as we all know he's most clutch players in the game so while he wasn't able to hit trout's early on in the fourth quarter he had three big players getting to the rim wants and hitting two tough mid range shots twice so that veteran leadership that he brings to the lawns is really going to help. This young team grow and one guy. I didn't touch on last week. But really wanna mention is jae crowder as a really nice off season edition for this team. He's coming off a finals. Run with the miami heat and he's another guy who just really brings toughness and leadership to a team. That is otherwise pretty young. So that's really gonna help these guys grow. The sons are still third seed in the pacific division. They dropped to the fourth seat in the west. But i think there's a lot of great things to come from the team transitioning over to a team. That's had their fish struggles a season. What's going on in sacramento for king. What one and two on the week. Losing to the pelicans the clippers and capping off the week with a win against the next last night talking last week. We've mentioned how they were the worst defensive team in the league and they still are coming into this week giving up one hundred and twenty three points per game their second to last in the league in rebounds per game when we want to look at their offensive side their tenth in the league and points they have six guys double figures so clearly. Offense isn't the issue for this team. Their opponents are shooting fifty percent from the floor and forty percent from three which probably indicates they're getting a lot of clean looks so the kings really need to ramp up the defense. A science knows the offensive struggles. How can kings fan still see the light. The aaron fox had an incredible career. High forty three point game against the pelicans. On twenty-seven trot attempts in that game bagley pitched in twenty six buddy healed had sixteen and homes contributed sixteen. So that was just a really around great offense of effort from the team and something they can look to build on following up on the defensive things that i mentioned they gave up thirty one points zion williamson in that game. Twenty two brandon. Ingram twenty-one eric bledsoe and fourteen jj radic so it doesn't matter how many points this team can caught up if they keep giving up more now on that note there game last night was the best defensive game that they've had so far this season folding them to ninety four points they have their lowest number of turnovers. What six and only two coming from the starting lineup. They had their highest number of blocks at fourteen and homes himself had six. So the only thing that's standing in the way of the king's being a good team is defense but that's a huge thing. That's missing that. They really need to to figure out. Hopefully they can build off of the solid next game and continue to grow from there..

fifty percent zion williamson Paul forty percent sixteen six fifteen ninety four points six guys last week chris thirty one points sacramento fourth seat two jj radic forty three point One part Ingram fourteen first half

NBA Formally Proposes 78-Game Season, In-Season Tournament for 2021-22

"It has leaked out today. Brian both from Adrian margin asking and Shamsher Rania the NBA has sent teams proposal for the twenty one twenty two season so this is the one thousand nine hundred twenty season so this would be two seasons from now. I'm just going to go down the list. You tell me if it's a hard no something you would consider. Yes okay. Seventy eight game season down from eighty to absolutely yes. You're not worried I'm with you but you're not worried that it messes is with the integrity of the stats like that. I don't care okay. I don't care either. Baseball went basement. There's no gain that's more stat driven than baseball in terms of how we honor people in this. Whatever it's not always been one hundred sixty two games in baseball dave adjusted and the big worry is if you go to seventy eight games these well? What are you GonNa the revenue that you made from the other four games because all of us are paid based on an eighty two game season? Here's your answer. It's the second thing in in season tournament so roughly thirty five games into the season. You have a tournament and the players each get a million bucks if they win it in. The coach gets a million and a half in season tournament halfway through. What do you think stupid disagree? Here's why right now. All we're not even thirty five games in there are. How many games the Lakers your twenty-five before they played basically thirty twenty nine Would you agree with me that there are eight to ten teams that we already know. Aren't making the playoffs. Yes that are just dogs with fleas. Yes like the the Knicks. Yes okay. This gives their fans something a reason to watch something. Does it it though it does. I would want a game right until they are eliminated taking a step further. Bill Simmons wrote a proposal on the ringer where he said what you have to do with. This is because most players make so much money that a million dollars. They wouldn't even care about what you have to do. What they care about is making the playoffs and win the title? Let's say you win the tournament you should get credit for like five wins. That now makes it. Because here's the deal. The problem with it is win the tournament and you get a playoff spot instead of who the team that is. I don't like data. I need all because I'm just throwing that the that's you're you're basically getting the problem along with the only incentive incentives that you can really add our is money and that's what they're talking about basically the interest unless so you'd go the Simmons route and you say it helps you make the postseason. That's good for three games. Four games or whatever it might be and taking that at team and putting them into the playoffs over a team that gets you. You know that that that wins more over the entire sny seventieth season but you gotTa Watch Turnham. There's a wrinkle. That's coming where I could say. You combine idea to an idea three but the biggest problem right now is not that you can't get the players to care it's that you can't get the fans to care because okay great. The Lakers win the mid season tournament. So what like. Why do I care about at that? Mostly I'm concerned. I'm going to be watching this thing going. God I hope Anthony Davis doesn't get hurt. There is a way that you can maybe combined make this kind signed to work with the idea that you were saying before we get to idea three all right play in tournament for the seven and eight seeds in each conference this this I like I do too. I like this a lot. So maybe you take seven eight nine ten or seven eight nine. Make a round robin whatever might be right and you play that as a plan Dan. I love this idea because now you're talking about you know reason to care if you're an eighth seed or nine senior couple of games back like you know you still have a chainsaw. There's usually not much of a difference between eight and nine in terms of how good they are right and so I like the idea of extending it so those teams have report teams jockey to get to the six right and what. Oh you now want to do is if you wanted to say. It's a seven eight nine are part of this plan. Plus the winner of the Eh of mid season tournament. But what happens if it's not one of those teams like you know right. Well you'd have to play with it. I think you can take time. It's not going to matter and so I don't think I don't think it's a fan. I'M GONNA care about my team if it's good winning some pointless midseason tournament when really wanted to win a title and I'd be worried guys get hurt again matter. Well did he get hurt and practice. So here's what Adams's practicing to win the the thing at the end. Well here's what Adam silver is trying to duplicate. They do this in soccer all the time they play for a cup in the middle of the season and and it's fun fund. If you're a Laker fan what you want is you want to see your team play. So they're in this tournament. You're watching and you're GONNA watch and you're GONNA care but you're not going to be super deeply invested in the away to the playoffs and the differences if I'm not like a steep soccer guy but most of these things are are between leagues. It's like the Bundesliga team. Plays the Premier League team and Lalita. And it's like whatever you know. I forgot the name of these things. But like it's all of these great teams together playing against each other so you're the match ups that you wouldn't otherwise see. This is just another version of Lakers versus nuggets. I just I don't understand I don't think means more more though. It's just a regular season game if it's in the tournament I it unless you can incentivize it so it was actually has more meaning than that. I don't see. Yeah Simmons. Good are wondering about the last thing that the proposal that they sent to the teams final four when the teams get to the final four. You reseed in the play offs based based on regular season records. So if if the Lakers and the clippers battle for the Pacific Division. Let's say the Lakers went and the Lakers win. Sixty five games but the clippers finished second in one sixty four games. The Clippers then are not a division winner in that scenario. And let's say they have to play a a team from the Central Division that only one fifty five games right now. The reason the way it exists is the division winner. Has Home Court really. Yeah the clippers yet. The the clippers would would have to be the row team. This would reward you for a better regular season record regardless of your stand. Absolutely I agree. I'm Greg what do you think of all those. Are there. Any that jump out is good or bad to you. Know I'm good or bad. No I really liked the plane game to see love nothing. That's fantastic tastic I tend to actually agree with Brian on the NCAA tournament. Say like an like a weird is rising as many excellent points you know throughout my radio time right every once in a while but this is just one of those things like. Yeah I'm just because. Let's say the Lakers win win the mid season tournament right Willie no win the final. Like oh you're like Oh yeah. We won the midst. Congratulations on being the mid season tournament. Champion where the NBA finals champion. I mean anyth- so simmons the idea. Was You have a Russell Cup in a Chamberlain Cup okay. And in the Russell Cup you get the teams that have the fourteen best records okay Eh and in the Chamberlain Cup you have the
