"Oh, Marin Cilic in his 15 double faults. Yeah, I mean, watching his matches, I have a very similar feeling to how I feel watching Maria Sakura's matches, which is I unclench on his behalf when he falls behind in the school. And that's what happened in this match. He was serving 5 6 in the deciding set. He's loved 30 down. Reels off. A load of incredible points, consecutively, he's one four down in the tiebreak. It looks like it's all got away from him. You know, public or any boosters such as steady Eddie. You just don't see you just don't see him throwing it away. From that point and he didn't. Marin Cilic wrenched it from him, he reeled off, you know, 2014 U.S. open, Marin Cilic for a few points there. He just couldn't do it at any stage when he was ahead in the school. And I'm fairly evaporation for him. A little bit like, I mean, in several length of this year with her serving woes. Just having to find a way to win in spite of yourself and how agonizing that must be. He's a poster boy for that just like she is, but it's very stressful to watch, isn't it? And as Matt put it perfectly in our WhatsApp group, does Marin Cilic have fangs? Colon, the most complicated question in tennis. Explain yourself Matt. That's the title of the essay. I have written the essay. I don't want to have to write it. But that's the title of it. Well, yeah, because exactly, as you said, it's so confusing because I think Marin Cilic is a more even more extreme example than those players you've named. And I agree it's similar in terms of sabalenka and saccharin because Marin Cilic is a Grand Slam champion. He's a Grand Slam finalist. He's a Davis Cup champion. He's achieved so much. So you know that the highs are really high with him. And every now and again, he has a spell in a match and agree it is often when he's behind in the score, where it appears like he does have fangs. He can totally take over. He can get a sort of look in his eye that just says nothing is going to stop him. And he's got so many weapons and he hits the ball so cleanly that there's sort of nothing an opponent can do about it. And it's the epitome of fangs when he's in that mode. But then there's the other side where he's twitching as he's about to serve and he's decelerating on his serve and his feet are doing a little jiggle just before he's about to hit a forehand and he's shanking the ball and mis hitting it and generally he's a sort of nervous wreck and he doesn't look like he has fangs at all. And you get those two experiences within minutes of each other. You know, he can go from looking like a U.S. open champion to looking like someone who isn't even going to be able to make a serve within seconds. And it just makes for such a such an extraordinary experience to watch him completely enthralling, but a little bit stressful at the same time. A little bit stressful. I mean, I got the feeling you were about to walk out. He was so better of the undulations in the match. Just couldn't be doing with it at one stage. And yet that was within the best atmosphere of the week and one of the best atmospheres of the year wasn't it? That was classic Davis Cup. Home, team, on the back foot, fighting back, which is twice a break of serve up in a deciding set. And then I got the sense to realize that they could get to him as well. And they were trying to is that how it felt? Yes, I really think so. I think Chile just showed enough vulnerability and the entire stadium sort of seized upon it. And it was spine tingling in there at times because they came up with some extraordinary shots as well. It wasn't totally Marin Cilic sort of melting down. You know, there were some forehand passing shots in particular from Pablo carreno busta, which were extraordinary and the noise in the stadium cut right through you. They had chance, they just were cheering, they were standing on their feet, and then when something happened that they didn't like, they made a very European noise, which is to whistle. It's not something that Brits ever do. Brits boo, I think, and Europeans, Spanish, they whistle. And it sort of gives you a bit of a headache when you're in the stadium. It's such a sharp noise. But it's, you know, there were over 9000 people in the stadium today, all doing it at once. And it was an overwhelming sensory experience in that stadium. And as you said, exactly what Davis Cup is known for. It's almost, it's almost difficult to praise the new version of Davis Cup for that because this is what Davis Cup has always had. This is what we're searching for at every tie, if possible. But now it feels like we really have to treasure the ties where it's like this. And of course, Spain losing means it might not be for the rest of the tournament. I still think that would be good crowds, good atmospheres, but it won't be like this again, where the home nation was playing and yeah, it was a hell of an experience to be in that stadium. He was one four down. It looked like he had, I mean, as you said, Corona buster, I think, on the run is one of the great counter punches. And he got himself to four one. It looks like chili, it's just fallen apart. The crowd of got to him. And then he won one point to get back to four two and he got that look in his eye that you referenced. That sort of I am not going away. Look, and I am coming back. And he did. I mean, from one four down to win that tiebreak, that is an extraordinary achievement. And then he came up with a running passing shot of his own Catherine that I think is one that will take with us from 2022 into 2023. Yeah, Corona buster had made a really great little volley, very, very close to the line, Marin Cilic is on the run. It wasn't a very familiar sight somehow, like I just don't think of Marin Cilic is the running passing shot guy. He's a very good mover for his height, very, very good. Very rarely look slow or lumbering. But I still just don't think of him as the running passing shot going. There he is, banana ring this forehand around Corinna bass and not quite around the net post, but that sort of a vibe. And it's just plopping inside the line. It was wonderful. And then on match point, 6 5, he plays just, I mean, it was totally reminiscent of 2014 U.S. open Marin Cilic. Those laser like ground strokes with such conviction of on them.

"Asia. Dan Schwartzman joins us so Serena is currently battling at the open demo. I don't know whether you saw this week in The New York Times, the op-ed piece by Billie Jean King. She said, you know, you go watch Serena play to see her serve the ball. I guess it's an amazing experience. Yeah, no, I've never unfortunately had the privilege of doing so as she winds down her career, but Serena Williams may not end that career today. She lost the first set to two CN event, excuse me. She won the first set 7 6 lost the second set 6 two, she currently leads a third set four to two the crowd by the way, of course, behind Serena here in flushing Meadows. Meanwhile, Layla Fernández looks like she is gonna get bounced out of the second round, the 14 seed is trailing with milla samsonova 6th three in the first set 6 5 right now in the second set. There was though a big upset earlier today, it was third seat of Maria sakari being knocked out in the second round in three sets by xiu Wang, 5th seeds on jabar 12 Koko goth both advancing to the third round. In the men's draw topsy Daniel Medvedev, he is in action or he will be an action in about 5 minutes. They expect to get that match getting underway. "So this is really, really nice. Yeah, I think he was down about 30 in L race, given that he's Spanish. We can use them. Man. I am, I am. And now he's up to 11. This one week has shot him up and I think we saw a bit of that in his reaction. I think the best week of your life coming at a time when you don't necessarily expect it. I think is going to be quite a powerful emotion and it was brilliant to see his reaction. He leaped in the air, he was so happy and it kind of reminded me of the scenes when he won the bronze medal and always remember him saying this bronze is like gold to me and you felt that and you felt that here as well and honestly it seemed like maybe for one week only or maybe he will take a lot of confidence from this, but he grew some fangs this week, you know, I often think of Pablo Cano busta as yes, he's a brilliant competitor and he makes it very, very tough for top players to beat him, but he can be a bit of a choker. You know, you can lose matches for match point up. He can very often fail to serve out sets or he's got a really bad record in Madrid in his home tournament. He doesn't always like that pressure. And yet this week, he was just ruthless and as you said earlier, kind of a bit of a killer. You know, whenever he got a chance, he just he just took it and, you know, I reeled off a list of players remaining in the drawer on Thursday's podcast. I think we were down to the last 16 stage and I was talking about why I felt like it was quite a intriguing selection of players left. And I named practically everyone in the draw apart from paleo konia buster. I did that classic thing of being really sort of unfair to him and yet in hindsight, he had beaten beretta at that stage, and that was a really eye catching score line. And I think showed that he was in brilliant form and yeah, it's an amazing week for him. And I have to mention that one point in the final set of the final, honestly, one of the points of the year where he scrambled back and hit a really high lob over his head, he was running at full pelt and slammed into the back wall he was running so fast, but he'd got the lob so high that it bounced really high and her catch kind of misjudged it, smashed it straight back to cranio buster, the rally carried on, Kenya bus to ended up at the net. Won it with a backhand smash and it was just an amazing sort of highlight moment and from that point on there was just no stopping crime buster. Yeah, I found this week incredibly discombobulating because public coronavirus is 31 years old. We have known him for a long time and I've got infirmary filed away in a certain place in my brain and that is you know what you're getting from Pablo corny booster, great play exactly as you just described Matt, not going to give you anything, keeps you honest, but he's not a streaky player. He's a week in week out player and he's not a highlights reel player. Well, we've had pretty much the point of the year from Pablo corny buster and this incredible one week inspired run out of nowhere from him. This is not the Pablo carreno busta I know. I feel very, very discombobulated by it and I don't know what to do with it. Is he in the U.S. open mix? No, he's not. Well, hang on. Let's assume that this is a Novak Djokovic free U.S. open and I know there's been a statement from what department is it I don't know whoever's doing the COVID related policies for U.S. border control. CDC. CDC saying they're going to look at laxing their policies in the coming weeks. We'll there's a week and a half now before the U.S. open draw. So I still think it's looking unlikely, but anything can happen. But anyway, as it stands at the moment, Djokovic free U.S. open, nobody else is informed that makes you feel particularly confident Nadal is a totally unknown quantity. Convince me that Pablo carreno busta two time U.S. open semifinalist is definitely not in the U.S. open mix. Well, I'll ask you a simple question. Would you be surprised if public or an abuse? Yes, I would. I'm doing presenting David and playing devil's advocate. Well, that's all that it comes down to in the end for me. And that's why Simona Halep is in the mix for me because I really like the definition we have for the mix. And look, I have spent the last decade underestimating this guy, and yet I'm going to continue to do it. But I think what it comes down to is the sheer beauty of sport. I do the same as you, Catherine. I file away a player under a little tag in my brain as to what they are. But sport can produce moments can produce inspiration can see somebody find form that they've never found before. And make you think that there's someone that you didn't think they were, but it can just be a week. It can. And he's had that maybe you can repeat it. I'd be surprised if it happens. It hasn't happened in the last ten years at this level of event before. So good for him, but I suspect this is, this is probably not going to be replicated any time soon. What I would say, hopefully in an attempt to make you both feel better about filing Kenya buster away is how do you think Nick curios is feeling right now who famously tweeted a couple of years ago if clay didn't exist, dude wouldn't have even been close to top 50 about Pablo cranio buster, which is just a total misinterpretation of Pablo Kenya buster's career. By that point, he'd already reached its best results have come on hard, haven't they? Totally. He had already reached the U.S. open semifinal at that point. He reached another one since then he's in the Olympic bronze medalist on a hard court. He's a very, very good court player. So yeah, I always just think back to that whenever I am a semifinalist in Montreal as well. It's been a bad week for Nick curios historic tweets. Yes. I would say. She's going to go and beat Rafa Nadal next week. But her catch in the U.S. open mix. Question mark. That's more borderline. I would still say no. But it's much, much more borderline. So who's in the mix? Medvedev Nadal. Pretty much. Nadal, who we haven't seen play. He's still. I know that's yeah, no, of course he's in with that, you know, he could arrive on one leg and he actually did win the French Open on one leg, zombie foot, of course, he's in the mix, but it's a very non definitive,

I'm really happy about it because the most important thing for me is just for the team to win and for the board to go inside in a which is all just upfront. To be honest we must say a very big thank you to the fans because from the beginning of the game to the hand they are all behind the team and you can see it's what keeps the whole team going to the last week. In golf will zalatoris of the USA beat Austria's subtractor on the third playoff hole to win the saint Jude championship in Memphis and in tennis Romania Simona Halep won the Canadian open for the third time in her career, while the unseated Pablo carreno busta of Spain took the men's title. Paul saras, from Monday, the U.S. state of Florida will allow alligator hunting during daytime hours. For the first time in decades. Conservation officials hope hunting in daylight will make the activity safer. But there's been criticism from tour guides, a Shirley Gordon reports. American alligators live in freshwater rivers, lakes, and swamps. The word alligator comes from the Spanish word for lizard, they were named by Florida's early settlers, historically there were 4 million in Florida, but over the course of the 20th century they were hunted nearly to extinction. Their numbers rebounded after they were classified as an endangered species, and now there are more than a million in the state. Gator hunting started again in 1998, conservation officials say it's necessary to control numbers and maintain the ecosystem. But this year it's different from now until November 1st, people will be out with their guns in daylight hours, not just at night. Peter corrino runs boaters for tourists on Lake Trafford, where alligators live, he thinks the hunting is unnecessary. There have been 30 fatalities in the last 75 years caused by wild alligators, probably about 12 to 15 alligator attacks in this ranges from alligators biting people when they're swimming to people picking up alligators and getting bitten. So that's each year. And that's not a lot. I'm not exactly sure why we think that doing this is going to make anything safer. In fact, by putting people out there with guns hunting while you've got tourists on air boats is probably the most unsafe thing you can do. Hunting season is managed by the Florida fish and wildlife conservation commission. It says hunting during the day will make things safer for the hunters, and that it expects little interaction between them and the users of the state's public waterways. "They were really going toe to toe each other and I think who was going to win that first set was ultimately going to have that momentum that was just going to kind of carry them through to the title. So I do think that first set was really, really pivotal to the outcome. And for serendip, as you said, I think he played the big points well and he was just very, very threatening with his forehand in particular from the back of the court. I think this is a player who has come on. Has come on leaps and bounds. They both have. I think last year, this time they were both in challenge on the challenger circuit reaching challenger finals, so I think it's great to see players go on that transition and it shows that I think players can make a name for themselves on the ATP tour having plied their trades and come up through the ranks on the challenger circuit. So it's great to see I think two finalists from that perspective, but yeah, for Sarah dolo, really, really, really great and I think both those both players will have been playing with so much confidence given how their seasons have gone and the fact that they are also, I think, knocking on the door, both of them on the top, top 30 in the rankings, but yeah, so serendip was just that little bit much better on the day and I think you also made the most of the sebi Baez second serve as well in that second set. I think Baez, we all know his kind of comparisons to Diego Schwartzman. I feel like they're getting stronger and stronger by the day Kim, but I do think his serve is a little bit there for the taking to start off on the right foot on his return games. Definitely something to improve on. And I mean, another thing from this match, which I mean, we were talking about before we start recording. Was that match point? So very slight amount of controversy on the match point. I don't know if any of our listeners will have had the chance to see it, or if you haven't, maybe just kind of Google it now and have a look. But serendipity appeared to see celebrate perhaps slightly earlier than he should have done because although bios ball was going out, the ball hadn't landed in serendipitous was falling to the floor dropped his racket, ball touched racket prior to bouncing on the floor, which kind of meant, I guess they should have played a lap, but they then didn't, so did win, but I don't know. It's kind of one of those things that you'd have to really watch it, I guess, to probably see what I'm blathering on about. I mean, I watched it and Chris Chris was there for the final story. He was right behind the right behind where it took place. And you're watching the replays of it, it should have been. It should have been point to Baez based on based on what I've been told in tennis kind of growing up, playing as a junior. I don't think it would have made a difference to the outcome of the match, but I would have thought the umpire, given it's his responsibility to watch the match that would have been able to kind of clock this happening. I get that it's a completely freak thing, and I've never seen anything like this happen before, but yeah, it was just all very bizarre. And I think Kim, it just tells you, never celebrate too early, because you never know what's going to happen. I mean, it would have been embarrassing if they had made them replay that point and then it had all gone pear shaped for certain only. Fortunately, it didn't. And it would have been funny if they had the ceremony and then some guy came out and said, well, actually, you've got to go back and replay that point. Everyone get off the court because it was actually technically biased as point and not serendipity. Yeah, really bad VAR kind of related decision. But yeah, well done, seren daily. I mean, he came through like some decent decent players and Pablo carreno busta, a bit of bit of PCB, who would thrash Diego Schwartzman, serendip dispatched him pretty comfortably. And what was that about? PCB one and love over Diego Schwartzman. That is on a clay court. That is a, that was a result. I definitely wasn't expecting. Yeah, and then you thought PCB, or maybe this is his tournament to lose, but obviously not. And ceremonial getting the win over top seed Casper Ruud in the first, well, in the second round, I should say. Casper Ruud is not having the greatest time after his French Open final is he. But we've seen this sort of thing happen before players have a bit of a peak and then a bit of a trough afterwards. Yeah. It reminds me a little bit of Sisyphus with the French Open last year when he obviously got to the final against Djokovic. Loss from two sets up and then I think had a slight kind of confidence dip there and you could tell in his performances and with Casper Ruud, I think there are all inevitably always going to be kind of parallels and similarities made and yeah, it was surprising I think to see him come into this a tournament he's played well at before top seed. The serendipity that's quite a tough, unseated player in the second round. As I said, he's one of the players who's one of the most informed over the course of this season, but the casparian that will be a bit of a disappointment given he was a top seed, given this was

"In that first set because he sort of fell away afterwards 6 two 6 two in sets two and three. So yeah, it was a good another good test, I think for Rafa, you know, he had that four set win against catching off. You had this tight first set as well. So yeah, very, very, very good and we'll see, we'll see how he gets on with Shapovalov. I mean, let's just quickly talk on the other quarterfinal we have. We've got materia versus Gael Monfils. This is in the top part of the jaw, the Novak Djokovic, less side of the draw. They came through pretty decent opponents. Monfils came through. In straight sets, Barry also won in straight sets against Pablo carreno busta 7 5 7 6 6 four. So they'll be relatively fresh you think for potentially having another classic match because they probably play one of the one of my favorite Grand Slam matches of recent years at the U.S. back in the U.S. open back in 2019, which I think went to a 5 time it went to a 5th sorry a final set tiebreak in the 5th set, very entertaining throughout. And I would not be surprised if we had more of the same in their quarterfinal. Do you know what that is why? They've been scheduled as the nightmare. I completely forgot that they played. It was such an epic match, wasn't it? Yes, you are completely right. Yeah, that was a real classic. Well, so much for classic. I couldn't remember it, but now you've provided me. It was a great match. And gosh, if we could get a similar similar match tomorrow, that would be fantastic. I would not be surprised given the way they are both they are both playing at the moment. This Gael Monfils is just like a Gael Monfils reborn and I loved in his interview on court after his match against kit man of it. He said, I'm not quite finished yet. And I feel like Andy Murray should maybe trademark that phrase because at least trademark that phrase on the tennis court because all these veterans feel like all these kind of veteran players you've been around the tour for a long time. They're just remind Marin Cilic to an extent as well. It just reminding they've been reminding people and fans this tournament that they've still got this ability, this talent in them. And for me, one face has been almost a revelation, I think this started this start of the season, but yeah, coming up against coming up against bertini, that is going to be a very, very difficult, very difficult match. I mean, very difficult match to predict, I think. Yeah, we'll have to see how Monfils handles the big serve and the big the big four hand of a teeny and potentially get him moving because I think bertini is not the greatest mover on the tennis court. We know Monfils is an excellent shot maker. So might be a question of whether Monfils can play his shots to make sure that bertini is always on the run in the rally. I mean, surely this is not a straight set match. Surely it's got to be at least four sets. I mean, bertini, he, to his absolute credit, has only lost the nova Djokovic in slammed since this time last year. He had to withdraw from this event last year as well with that abdominal injury. So it takes a lot to beat him in Islam. It does. And I feel like bertini in four or 5 sets is where I'm going with this one. But Monfils hasn't dropped a set yet. He won the Adelaide. He is in absolute cracking form. So it's a tough one to call. I think they're both very tough, actually, the court was coming up tomorrow to predict. An interestingly Kim, and I'm going to spring a surprise on you. And I know all this is as well. I do have a mini par for the courts for you that is bertini based, because bartini has become the youngest youngest player so far to reach the quarterfinals in the men's are all four grand slams. There are 9 active players alongside bertini, who have also reached all four quarterfinals or better at all the grand slams, off the top of your head. Can you give me some names? Active players. Okay, well, roger Rafa Novak, and Andy. Just be more of them. Yep. That's Stan Wawrinka got to a quarterfinal at Wimbledon. I think he might have just done it once. So I'm going to say stand my friend. I mean, that's incorrect, but keep going. Yes. I know, right. Do you think? Yes. Go on peace. No, I thought I thought gelman fis as well, but nope. Wimbledon? I want to say someone like Thomas Berdych, but he's not an active player. So Dominic team? No, he's not good at Wimbledon. Rublev, no, no, no, no. What am I saying? Oh, think of older players. Think of older players. Yeah, your pitch. So yes, you can have del Potro, yes, we're using active in the loosest possible sense. I want to say someone expected like John Isner, John Isner. No. No, no. The French Open, no. Oh, this is really tough. Is it an American player? Nope. French French player. Tsonga. Jo Wilfried tsonga. Jo Wilfried tsonga is correct. Sorry, I did, I did get to excited Stan Wawrinka is correct. I just double checked that. Got to a quarter final at Wimbledon. Yes, so some of it is correct. Jo Wilfried tsonga also cracked also it was a bit sad. He's playing a challenger today in France, which just may be sad of where he's at the moment. Yeah, I'll tell you the other two that you're missing. I think is it Fernando Verdasco? It's not Fernando Verdasco. I also thought that he Kim, hilariously, he has reached the semifinals of the Australian open as we all know. Quarterfinals of Wimbledon quarterfinals of the U.S., he's reached a fourth round of the French Open 7 times. Oh no. Right, let's get a campaign this year. Give him a wild card and open the draw for him so he can get his quarterfinal at last. So the players I was looking for were, as you said, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Joe Wilfried tsonga,.

"That was happening at exactly the same time as that one. So therefore I did not see this one either. Was ash Barty beating Camilla Georgie. Now that was a fairly straightforward 6 two 6 three and four ash party. Hush bharti going into that game into that match had only dropped three games through the first two rounds. So I think it's the Australian open. It ash Barty, you expect her to do very well. Obviously she's we know now that she's beaten east him over as well. Do you think ash Barty is going to be in the final? I mean, it feels like a no brainer at the moment, given the tennis that she's playing. Yeah, it was a shame I think that we didn't get that blockbuster party Osaka match up because I think maybe if Osaka had, I think if Osaka had got there, I think she would have tested party more, potentially than Aniston over has. But having said that, she's just proving to be just invincible and she's playing like she is playing like the world number one. So I wouldn't be I wouldn't put it against her. And I think there could be there might be a shock gloss along the way, but I don't. I can't I can't really see that at the moment. It will exactly. I don't know. I don't know. I think before today, I would possibly have said sicari, but then sakari lost it out there. Yeah, exactly. Curry had a good third round match. We had wins for her and for dosa as a ranker. Could she cover? Yeah, it's tricky, because we've seen today, Jesse pago has come through Madison keys, players who I think we know that there have been very, very good on a hardcore Grand Slam over over the last few years. And I think they've used the 2022 Australian open as a reminder of that. But yeah, they're that part of the draw with ash bharti and I just think at the moment, ash Bart is just the force of nature and steamrolling her way through steamrolling her way through at the drawer at the moment. So I just want to pick up on the win for Victoria Azarenka over. I don't know, I don't know, whether you feel the same about Switzerland, Switzerland is consistent, but she's never gone the extra bit just to get into the go as far as I think you probably could go. She's very consistent throughout the year. But there's always somewhere. There's a loss that doesn't quite get I don't think she's going to win a Grand Slam because of this. I feel like she's been in reverse. I feel like a few seasons ago we were talking about her making that step from semifinal to final, but it feels now it's getting more to getting out of week one to week two or maybe even a little bit more like an Elise mertens like a fourth round to a quarter final because yeah, she came unstuck against azarenko and it was I mean, do you think that match says more about Azarenka than it does about Switzerland or the other way around? I think it is a real positive for Azarenka that she's back at that level where she's beating top players. You know you can tell she's really enjoying her tennis as well. You should put a son into the press conference afterwards and I don't know if you saw this, one of the reporters asked forget what the name of her son is, but after her son, how did mommy play and the sun just had awesome? And she is spawn and analysis. She is playing really, really awesome at the moment is Azarenka. It made me smile. I mean, I think that result against vitalina Azarenka says more. I think it says more about Switzerland and than Azarenka because again we've already seen Azarenka lost quite comfortably to critique of today. In round four, again, I feel like that's a funny matchup Azarenka. There's something there that does not compute. I think what G faces could cheek of her. But yeah, it will be we'll have to see, but I think it says more about how sitting in this game has, I think, regressed a little bit over the last 6 to 6 to 12 months. She needs to she needs to ask she needs to ask her husband, album fees, what I need to do because he's having he's having a resurgence at the moment. And I think fit Alina, she wants that resurgence that I think her partner is having. Do you think maybe that could be a negative effect in that if she can see Gayle playing really well, it sets a bar for her that's perhaps too high. I don't over expecting and then perhaps. Working herself too much up about it. Do you know what I mean? And therefore going into the match with high expectations because I'm feeling the pressure because of that. I don't know. It's an interesting thought, and I don't know if yeah, they do, I feel like naturally it's hard not to compare, but yeah, I don't think she should obviously she should be focusing on a game and just herself, but yeah, there might she might internally feel like there's a pressure there. Seeing like this happening and why is it not happening for me? But she's going to have to I think figure it out over this season. She had changes in her team last season. She needs to figure out how she's going to get back to where she was, I think, a few years ago, I think she was more and more consistently getting to quarterfinals and semifinals. So we'll see. So moving on to the men's draw and we had an absolutely classic classic match really fun entertaining match. Carlos alcaraz versus Matteo bartini and we had bertini winning in 5 sets, having been two sets up, Lee, I feel like this is a school line. We don't necessarily see very often. When a player goes two sets up and then loses an X two and then is able to wrestle back the momentum and win in 5. But baritone was able to do that. This was a match that was fantastic. And I'm sort of looking forward to this as a rivalry, I think, in the future. I do think this is a match that can just capture a lot of people's attention just because it's well, I know Kim Kim would come in and say Matteo maritime is very dishy sort of player, but he's also got a very good tennis player as well. And Carlos alcaraz, we've seen him beef up over the summer again. Brought another level of he's brought another he's even higher, I think the season what we've seen so far. But I think maybe just his experience a little bit more showed potentially at the end in that champ in that deciding championship tiebreak. So as we're recording this is playing his fourth round match against Pablo carreno busta. So we don't know the acronym of that one yet. But I think the draw there is really good for me..

"And you know, try not to blush, or whatever. But, you know, he was really effusive in his praise for her cares. I think everyone is just so impressed with just how he handles himself at 18. That was sort of what Lopez was trying to get across on the court off the court. And there was this lovely moment in the press conference where a journalist in Spanish asked all 5 members of the team for a word on Carlos whereas Navarro. And their thoughts on her career and what a special person she is. And a couple of them gave their answers. And then they sort of wanted to move on with the press conference. There wasn't time for all of them to give an answer because there were so many journalists still waiting to ask questions. But when outcross was asked, the question next, he actually said, oh, and I'll give you a word on cardio as well as Navarro as well. Just stuff like that. I think, you know, is really quite something actually. Not many players would do that. And I think that's just a little insight into how he gets it. And just how mature is and how nice he is as well. And obviously, he's the number two, as you said. He feels a bit like the number one. So much of the attention is on him. I don't feel like the number one role is really something that suits Pablo carreno busta that well. He is a fantastic squad player. But actually, the way it's worked out might end up benefiting Spain because Colonia buster will maybe play a match where he's not expected to win, which is perhaps a scenario he likes. And then they've got outcries in the number two position who could just go out there and produce his best tennis and could secure a point for them in that number two position. So the reason Colonia buster is number one is because Bautista goo had to withdraw last minute. So they haven't gotten the door, they haven't got Bautista goo who are obviously the driving forces of that team when Spain won this event a couple of years ago. So they are weakened, absolutely, but they've still got a very, very strong team and without who has part of it, it's going to be it's going to be a great occasion. I think his debut all eyes on that. Would it be fair to say Russia, who are also in group a, or the Russian tennis federation, I should say are not weakened at all. Is this a full strength Russian team, which, you know, is a sight to behold, quite frankly, when you see those names all alongside one another? Yeah, that's right. Daniel Medvedev Andrei Rublev, Aslan karatsev, and then in the fourth Karen Hatton of I figured out today he would be number one in 12 of the 18 teams at this event. And as it is, he's the number four for Russia. And it's a complete change of role for him because, you know, he was the guy two years ago for Russia because Medvedev didn't play this event action of was the number one. And yet karate serves meteoric rise steady improvement. He's gone from about 20 in the world to top ten. And let's be honest, action of plateauing, even dropping over the last couple of years has meant that he's now in that fourth position. So, you know, how he, how he steps on the court this week, I guess in doubles, but I'm not sure he'll get a singles slot and it's quite interesting. I think it's maybe easier for him to accept that because he is friends with all these players, but I hope he doesn't know. I hope that's really motivating for him. I don't know. I don't know if he's that kind of character. I don't care about sentence, really. You know, I know. I think we've talked about it before. That's lack of fangs with action art has been something we've thought of. And I don't think he's in the fourth position thinking, God, I really want to be number one. But, you know, maybe, maybe he will get a chance and he'll play really well. But it's an interesting dynamic that Russian team. How do you think of Kenny dunsky feels? He's bears, isn't he? Bears on the miraculous. I mean, it hasn't he always been? Hey, he's the guy that beat Federer one time. Can I change my prediction? Because I didn't know about him being fourth and being number one equivalent on 12 other teams. It's quite it's quite some team that Russian team. Look, I mean, maybe maybe Medvedev and Rublev will be on fumes, who knows. But the fact that they're there and says a lot. And I think the camaraderie among them will carry them some way. Who plays doubles? Well, I mean, well, Rublev and hashtag had a doubles vibe going a couple of years ago, didn't they? They were really successful, but actually, they played Paris together as kind of prep. And I think they reached the final actually there. And they really got some chemistry going. But the exception of Medvedev, I don't think I've ever seen play doubles. Have you seen hatching off play doubles? Yeah. Maybe he's doubled? Yes, wasn't he successful in mixed at the French? Correct set. Yes. Somewhere. Yeah. Yeah, with vezina. Yes, so I hope Don's always got some good pom poms, but it that way. So Group B Canada Kazakhstan Sweden. We've touched upon we've touched upon them. Kazakhstan, I mean, bublik is across that group, public is the standout singles player, isn't he? Totally. Yeah, I mean, it's hard to predict public always. But rankings wise, he's head and shoulders above anyone else in that group. Pospisil stepped up for Canada last time if you remember he played most of the matches ahead of Felix audio team who picked up a bit of an injury, any one, all of them in the group he beat is near. He'd be familiar beat John millman. He just played really great tennis for Canada. And I think they're really relying on him doing that again. He said, he'll be playing singles and doubles for sure. It's just the question of who fills in with him. They've got bradyn schnauz. They've got Steven Diaz. They've got Peter Polanski. Who knows? I think it could be any one of those. But possibly it was the guy for Canada. And then Sweden, captain by Robin, their main guy is Michael Emma..
