Dick Cheney Was One of the Most Hated People on the Planet

"Happened yesterday was remarkable. The Cheney family has been running the Republican Party for the last couple decades. Dick Cheney, of course, was the vice president for George W. Bush for 8 years. He was one of the most hated people on the planet. If you think they hate Donald Trump, I'm going to read some of these headlines. Of how they used to treat Dick Cheney in 2003 and 2004. They hated Dick Cheney. This is when the media actually wasn't totally neoliberal, believe it or not. The media actually hated stupid foreign wars back then. They just hated Republicans largely because of social policy. How about this one right here? Dick Cheney and a wheelchair fed, blofeld, strangelove, or Potter. Tuesday's image of Dick Cheney a wheelchair seems endlessly evocative, especially in terms of pop cultural touchstones. My first thought echoed, I later learned by my mother, was he was stroking a white cap and his cat in his lap that would have completed his transformation into a Bond villain. Or how about this one? Ed Schultz said, we need to rip out Dick Cheney's heart. This was how the media used to treat Dick Cheney. Play cut 69. You damn right, dick Cheney's heart is a political football. We ought to rip it out and kick it around and stuff it back in him. I'm glad he didn't tip over. He is the new poster child for healthcare in this country. Do you realize that if you had 5 horn attacks? Hell, you wouldn't get past too heart attacks and they dump you. But because you're a war criminal and because you are on the tape from Halliburton and you had these executive meetings in 2001 back in the days of the rolling blackouts and executive privilege on how we're going to develop energy policy in this country. You do stuff like that. Hell, you can get the best healthcare on the face of the earth. We need to rip his heart out. This has one example of how the media used to treat Dick Cheney Dick Cheney was the most vilified man. In fact, go watch the movie vice. The movie vice is an entire hit piece on Dick Cheney on his machiavellian instincts and

What Is the Most Annoying Word in the English Language?

"What is the most annoying word in the English language, Eric? Most annoying. All right, there are many words that I find profoundly annoying. But the one that pops into my mind right now is the word gloaming. There are certain words that it's almost like if you're a poet or a writer who isn't that good, you kind of you kind of lean on these kind of crutch words that sound like poetic and wonderful and gloaming to me is like at the top of that list. If you have to use the word gloaming strike three.

'The Bodies of Others' Author Naomi Wolf on the War Against Humans

"Return with Naomi wolf, her brand new book, the bodies of others, the new authoritarians COVID-19 and the war against the human. Now, Naomi, when you say the war against the human, this is where I see this extraordinary convergence. I mean, because we're living in such bizarre times, but when you leap to this idea of the war against the human, you're positing humanity as a good thing. And you're saying that those on the other side, these authoritarians are somehow wittingly or unwittingly anti human. Just talk about that for a moment. Sure, and I have sadly a ton more evidence of their war on humanity since the time we last talked to Eric. It's truly terrifying. So in my book, I make the case that, as I mentioned, these bad guys, right? This loose alliance of the World Economic Forum, the Chinese Communist Party, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, governments, and big tech used the pandemic of the last two years and used medical or public health messaging as cover for the real intentions, which we're seeing play out now. They were pretty successful. Their real intentions were to dissolve human civilization and to weaken human beings. And to transfer assets and power and control from human beings as a group, but especially from the middle and working classes to them themselves. And they've been largely successful. Let's just take two examples. The lockdown directive, right? It didn't help the data and it didn't help in terms of stopping the spread. It totally helped in terms of crushing businesses that couldn't afford to stay closed for 6 months a year. Over a year, small businesses, mom and pop shops, small landlords, but Amazon is open, right? Etsy is open. So you saw these companies go up 20 to 25% market share. And people's people's habits completely changed.

The Real Housewives Brain Conundrum

"Watched one episode of Real Housewives. Oh, you did. Oh, I try everything. I even did, what is it called? Naked and alone, making. Oh, I don't know that one. Naked and afraid. Dennis, which at which franchise, which I know. I think it was Orange County. Oh my gosh. It's what popped up. The only time I watch TV and it's very rare then is in a hotel room. I find television. I've always said that. I don't really watch TV. The exception. I'm not condemning people who do. I think it's great to have some silly time consumer. We need that. But the problem for me, at least naked and scared, is that right, Sean, make it make it in the freight. Make it an afraid is interesting. How do people put up with being unclothed in the Guatemalan jungle? I mean, it's at least interesting. But the dialog on Real Housewives. I think I rather, I know, no, I don't think. I'd rather just be in a silent room and let my brain entertain me. Right.

Who Will This 'New and Improved' IRS Target?

"In the meantime, back to this IRS thing. I mean, I'm just kind of offended. I sound like I'm like, you know, one of the woke ones right now, 'cause I'm offended, everything. But I'm offended when they think that the answer is to somehow just go after every Tom dick and Harry and Jane and Susan and Sally. And this is who will be affected. It will be your middle class. As much as they're going to try and tell you, oh, it's the 1%, no, no, no. Just in terms of, if you have that many IRS agents, who are they going to go after, and they can't, as I keep saying, they can't go after. The people that they should go after were just the billionaires, they get away with the great deal on the tax front because we've got lawmakers that are so concerned about making sure they have enough money for their next campaign. I told you yesterday about all the money. I mean, Kirsten sinema is one example. She's got donations individual donations from the private equity industry totaling over 500,000 for her last campaign. I mean, that is a lot of money, right? And I'm just looking at the numbers 54,900 from executives over at KKR, 35,000 at Carlisle, 27,300 over at Apollo. The private equity industry is a very big lobbying organization. In fact, they probably spend more money than any other industry right now. They're on K street and one of the reasons they're doing this is to give themselves the beneficial treatment when it comes to taxes. Do you know the Chuck Schumer? Collected 1.28 million from the private equity industry, including Blackstone and KKR, so you really think that he's that interested in raising taxes on this particular group of people. Go back and listen to Monday's podcast. If you want to explain or they're on why this is income and why it should be treated as income and why this is just highway robbery, frankly, of the American people and of our government, but these people in Washington I'll tell you the whole system is so darn corrupt. When you see what just went down. And when you see that they're going to effectively inflate, again, the U.S. economy artificially by spending all this money while simultaneously adding another 80 billion to go after everyday folks from the IRS all all while saying we're going to give a pass to those private equity investors. I mean, give me a break. It's not investment. It's income and they need to be taxed as such. Anyway, it's really pretty disgusting. But the whole thing is just disgusting. I mean, the idea that they want to pass this off, the name itself as somehow an inflation reduction act. Guys, you're just spending more money. All right, before I get to that, I do have one more thing I want to mention to you. You know, it's summer and we're all looking for movies and I don't know about you, but it's kind of hard sometimes. Kind of hard to find a good movie that you can enjoy watching that is representative of your values. I think that our values have gotten kind of lost and pop culture these days. And it's one of the reasons why I think it's important for all of us to think about what we're watching and who we're supporting when we watch it, right? Are you really into Disney right now with all their bogus? Or do you want to try and seek out some alternative sources of entertainment? This is where this movie in particular comes in. When I was a kid, I used to watch Cameron on that, what was that show? Oh, you know what? I got to look it up right now as I'm talking to you. This is how you know I'm recording in real time. He had that sitcom, when I was a kid, what was it? So anyone who can answer that in the questions below, extra super duper points, go to you. I'm going to come back to that in a second because it's going to drive me crazy. I remember that sitcom really, really well. Anyway, he's got a new movie out a new movie that he's backing. He's a very big Christian. He's an growing pains. Growing pains. That was the sitcom. I remember that now. Anyway, he's got a new movie that is just out. It's pretty neat. It's got a good message, and I think it's worth taking a look at as you're looking for things to watch and be entertained by. So this is called life Mark. And in this movie life Mark, it tells the story of David who has this very comfortable world that gets totally turned upside down when his birth mother, unexpectedly reaches out to him, and she's looking to meet him. He's 18 years old at that point. She only had the chance to hold him once, and she went looking for him and he finds this out. So it's really, it's an interesting storyline and probably one that happens a lot. He gets encouragement from his adopted parents, and so he embarks on this life altering journey, which really is a process of discovery and it leads to a pretty staggering truth from his past, inspired by a true story life mark is a powerful reminder that one decision, one choice can impact so much more than one life. It's a pro family pro love pro forgiveness pro reconciliation and pro new beginnings kind of movie.

Trouble in the Writers' Room at 'Rescue 911'

"There's trouble on the set of rescue 9-1-1 and it's such a bullshit situation, but this is the state of Hollywood now. Who the hell wants to be in Hollywood with all this shit? So last April, station 19 8 O episode that was hailed as one of the most powerful reflections of George Floyd's murder on television. It was written by an executive producer showrunner named Christa vernoff and some other people on the show's writing stuff contributed as well. More than a year later, an incident involving the depiction of racism on the page has left the writing team of the show reeling. It's got nothing to do with the writers recent draft of an outline. It has to do with what they hand it in. On the upcoming season 6 episode that included numerous uses of a racial slur by a racist character right away the N word pops up, right? So I'm hearing the script was assigned to a white writer who can white people write what bothers blacks or Hispanics, I don't know, the word in question this white writer used was beaner. It's a word that they won't even write in articles and newspapers around they won't even write the R took me a while to figure out what the fuck they were talking about. Beaner. You know, Mexicans pick beans. Okay. Derogatory, I get it. If you're a Latino descent, meanwhile, it's a term that the comedian Carlos mencia who was half Mexican would use all the time in his act and on his Comedy Central show. Beaner. I'm not even worried saying that word. I can't stand saying the N word. I've used that word to make a point. I've used it if I'm talking about music that contains the word or a discussion that contains the word. There's no reason to say it now, so I won't. But if someone brings it up and a discussion, they're talking about it, then I'll talk about it this controversy. But Peter, it means nothing to me. Nothing. So the guy ends in the outline and it's met with shock. It's not with disbelief. When he shares it with the writers room,

Beyonce's New Album Is Causing Controversy

"Her latest album is called renaissance. It's the first one she's released since lemonade. Remember that hoopla 6 years ago? It's causing quite a stir in the business. Remember she's saying in the Super Bowl? Oh my God. A lot of shit in the business now because of this album. A couple of singles were secretly released. I don't believe that for a second. I'm sure it was coordinated without her consent. Yeah, sure. She knew what was going on. Another pop star, kelis, and the police, my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and they're like, it's better than yours, right? That's kelis. Kelis went on Instagram to give Beyoncé some shit. 'cause her album has 16 tracks and it pays homage to dance music and she samples some iconic hits from Donna Summer and Robin S, Robin S recently said she was thrilled to have a work included. But now everybody's thrilled. Apparently, kelis is not thrilled because milkshake was incorporated to Beyoncé's album on the 5th track called energy. So now she's speaking out to claim that the song was used without her permission. And without getting too in the weeds, let me just say the production duo of Pharrell Williams because I'm happy and if you feel all right, Pharrell Williams and his partner Chad Hugo, they're known as the neptunes. They're listed as two riders of milkshake, which was released back in 2003, and kelis is credited as a sole performer. So she and the neptunes have a long and complicated history. We don't need to know that. They worked on a first three albums in 99, 2001, 2003. Who even knew, kelis has three albums. I didn't know. But either way, it's not my world. But according to new track credits for energy that you see on Spotify and Apple music, both Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo are listed among the numerous co writers on the song while kelis goes on mentioned. And despite not being listed in the song's credits, her involvement in renaissance was teased earlier last week after Beyoncé released an official track list naming the artists set to be sampled in each song and as a fan account on Instagram that put up the list, she repulsed the list of Beyoncé put out. And that got a response from kelis, who said that this was the first time she'd heard that her work was being used on Beyoncé's album. And she wrote in response to this fan, it's not a collaboration. It's theft. So right away, shots fired. And kelis went on to say, my mind is blown because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all three parties involved is astounding.

What's the Connection Between Biden, Ukraine & the Secret Labs?

"Early on, we were told that there were these laboratories that everybody was very concerned about. And there's been a lot of speculation about those laboratories what they were doing and why the United States needed to go into Ukraine to secure those laboratories. Some people are saying it had to do with the China virus and it very well may be. I do not know. But we do know this that the United States is willing to risk American lives and treasure to protect those labs, so something important was happening inside those laboratories. The other part of it go it predates even the Trump administration where you have Joe Biden and his son doing all sorts of very nefarious business transactions with the Ukrainians. We've known for well over a decade that there has been great corruption within the Ukrainian government. But they've all decided to take a blind eye at that. Because there's something else going on here. Now, do we care about Ukraine? I don't think we do. I think Biden wants us involved in a shooting war with the Russians and the question is why. And it's really not Biden. It's whoever is pulling the strings, which would be Susan Rice a Barak Hussein Obama. But I want to go on to the next line here of this very disturbing story out of the New York times. Meanwhile, senior U.S. officials still believe that Putin is quite prepared to consider using a small nuclear weapon against Ukraine if he sees his army facing certain defeat. In short, this Ukraine war is so not over. So not stable, so not without dangerous surprises that can pop out on any given day.

The Condescension of School Boards With Aaron Withe

"Up Virginia and I'll bring this up. It was amazing to me how the school board members many who were not teachers themselves, but just elected, sometimes first time, how condescending they were to parents. And I think that played into it a lot as well. Condescending is an understatement. I mean, when you've got candidates for office going up and saying that the state can take care of your kids better than you can. It's completely ridiculous to undermine what parents have the ability to do. And I think that the other result of that is we've seen a lot of parents take their kids out of public education. They've been putting them into private schools when they can afford them, charter schools, certainly. And then we've seen these learning pods pop up all over America as well, which basically a homeschool community where they get 5 or 6 kids together and go and hire a teacher to educate their children because they wanted to remove their kids from failing public schools and ultimately I see what's happened the past couple of years I call it the grand awakening of parents to what was happening in the schools. I think this is a good thing. I think that ultimately it's going to create a free market economy where parents have the ability to take their kids and put them into schools that are ultimately going to educate their kids. The

Lia Thomas's Nomination Proves Women Are Erasing Themselves

"The other idiot I wanted to bring up today is William Thomas. The transgender swimmer. Because now she's been nominated for woman of the year. Woman of the year guys, what the hell is wrong with the NCAA? This guy ranked nearly dead last when he swam against young men, pops a few hormone pills and presto change O maybe tucks his print to the right tapes it down. Now he's a woman. And then he jumps like 465 places to become the number one female swimmer, how can anybody accept this insanity? You know, girls in the quest to be seen as equals. Women seem to believe that in order to be seen as such, they must also surrender their femininity. But in doing so, they not only achieve that, but they've helped all but erase themselves. It's meaningless. They've turned everything into nothing. But this is Biden and the Democrats world,

When AJ Embarrassed Himself at Bill Maher's House

"Bill Maher's great podcast club random. Club random is nothing like real time. It's Bill sitting in a part of his house where every time he had parties, that's where people would go. I've been through a few of those. He throws great parties, there's a big difference in home property. And this one room was where you go to hear the music and smoke weed and, you know, it's a very comfortable kickback room. And bill's not in everyday pop guy. Throws these parties and, you know, there's only devices we barely drink. He'll take some tequila now and then, but on his podcast, he gets high and drinks, and he encourages his guests to do this and doesn't force them, but come over and do what you want. He invited me on the show. He's like 13 weeks in, so I would, you know, I don't know when I'm going to be asked, but it's going to be a while before you hear me in that because he does a lot of tapings before they air. But this part of the property is really nice. And he bought this house many years ago from Ben Affleck. And here's how stupid I remember I was that night. I remember thinking I was cool and hip and wanted to make a joke to Bill and some of his friends. So we're having fun and he told me, you know, this is Ben Affleck's former home. He was the last well, he was the last owner I bought it from Ben. And I remember saying to him like an idiot. Hey Bill, I was just in that other bedroom and I see now where Ben Affleck left his talent. Just such a stupid, even if even if, you know, look, I know he is a bad movie. That bob, but sometimes even the best of us want to be funny, but the funny man, and it's never a good idea. It's bill's house. We had to make the jokes, but him and I have this relationship where we do laugh at each other's jokes. He's very real and honest. He's not one of those guys who doesn't care who people think his friends off. He likes you, he likes you. But I regretted that joke for years. I love that athletes work. "Always got a big hit in the game And as the picture that started that game all I'm all I'm thinking about is all I need to do is keep this game close because I'm either going to win it or probably lose it So when I walk off the field as my team is going to be in a position to win and when I say that my goal was never to walk off the mound being one rundown That was all I wanted to do If I was one run down then my team was capable of score net one run So when Bucky stepped up in the top of the 7th inning and he popped that three run Homer of course it lifted us up and it just the heads dropped in the Boston dugout Because we had four games in a row before about three weeks before that and to have that happen when everything seemed to be going their way It was pretty pretty hard on them Now they fought back and made the game closer but we were able to win that game Yeah and then that was a one game playoff if I remember and that ironically gator That was your 25th win that season right You got the win in that game correct I did Yes I did Just how it turned out All of those wins wouldn't have mattered if we wouldn't have won that game because if we don't win that game we don't go anywhere Yeah that's right That's it We win that game We win the playoffs We win the World Series So it made that year much more special because of the outcome But

"Here is an exchange. He got real feisty. Now, all of us want to be old. I do. I want to live to be 99 years old. I just don't think I ought to be president of the United States. Here's cut 13. Listen to this reporter, who's pointing out the disastrous poll numbers he has. And he gets in the reporter's face. He liked menacingly comes towards the reporter. And it's one of those honest to goodness. One of those old men stay out of my lawn. Get out of my get out of here. You kids you rascals, you young whippersnappers make a lot of noise. I'm not gonna put up with this racket, you scoundrel you. I mean, it's like, that's what it's like. You could see him. He's so old and he comes walking menacingly and the two nervous Secret Service agents are on either side of him. And they're looking at him like, oh, please, mister president, can you not do this? What are you doing? You've got to hear and see this. Mister president, what's your message to Democrats who don't want you to run again? They want me to ride. Two thirds of the pole. Through the pose, Jack. You guys are all the same. That pull showed that 92% of Democrats if I ran would vote for me. A majority of Democrats say they don't want you to run again in 2024. 92% said if I did, they'd vote for it. Read the polls, Jack. Stop playing that rock and roll in that that devil music, your little whippersnapper. No pop that gum around me.

ND Senator Kevin Cramer on the Mass Purchases of State Farmland

"With this right now to help unpack what has happened in the Chinese Communist Party buying up farmland in North Dakota and also time what's happening in the U.S. Senate is someone from a phenomenal state, one of my favorite states in the country, North Dakota, senator Kramer, senator welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. Charlie, it's good to be with you. I'm sorry, it's taken so long for me to hook up, but I'm glad our schedules work today. And yeah, it's a pretty big topic to discuss for sure. And our little rectangular blank spot in the middle of the North American continent, north go to plays a role. It really does, we have a ton of North Dakota viewers and watchers and listeners. And I still do all the time. America is a freer place because of North Dakota. So senator, let me first start by asking about the story that has been popping up and you have spoken out against this, which is the Chinese Communist Party purchasing farmland right near the Grand Forks Air Force Base. It is a potentially a corn milling plant, but the majority owner is a CCP member. Can you talk about this? What is the air force leadership say about this? And I'll be very blunt. Why is the state government of North Dakota allowing this to happen? So, well, a couple of things, Charlie, first of all, with respect to your last question, that would be a better question for the governor and for the commerce department probably, but I would say this about North Dakota and you've been there a lot, as you say, and you have a lot of fans. For sure. But, you know, North Dakota is not a place that's hurting financially or economically, as you probably know. We have a very good robust, very modern agricultural community that does very well. We do a lot of value added agriculture. We know how to market our products. The commodities as well as add value to them. And we, of course, have a robust energy sector, robust technology sector, robust bio sector, we have a lot more job openings than we have jobs. So my question is, are we so desperate as to need a corn milling facility on the very northern edge of corn country? Near Grand Forks. At a time when frankly, economically, we need more people not necessarily more

She would be like, okay, babe, daniella showed you the steps, but I want you to sell it to me. So he would have to sell it to her. Right. Before they did anything together, that job to add up. Put him on the winner's circle. Okay, Francesca's stripper gate on The Real Housewives of Atlanta caught your attention. Tell us about it. Yeah, I know I had the picture for gay because when I tell you, you remember earlier this year, this was the thing like, who slept with the stripper? Who slept with the stripper? And we had no clue like we hadn't seen the episode yet. So this was Real Housewives of Atlanta. Season 13. This has been a stalest franchise for quite some time. And we all know that we're just going to say it. So they needed to do something crazy. Well, for Cynthia's bachelorette party, they had candy, had bolo the stripper with the 11 inch. Comment. Oh, there he is. There we go. He is. And everyone's licking their lips. And in that cabin, things got crazy that night and girl started kissing girls and bullo spent the night and then Portia, she blocked out all the cameras and we got to see a little bit of peace, but they it was a scandal for a long time. Kenya, of course, kept it going as well. From the show, but she kept going as well because she was basically saying like, it wasn't me, but I know who did it. And she kept dropping her. We know who did it? No I didn't get it. Oh, you really don't do that. I'm familiar. I'm not about to get hit from Atlanta folks. You know what? Point is you can do your own research and figure out who? By fair enough. All right, Sierra. For just you, you spoke to Sierra. Tell us about that. I did. Yeah, yeah, Sierra, she had a big old year, and she's ending it with a big old bang by hosting new year's rocking eve. You know, we love see her. She's the cater joja. "We all bring everything together right. So i'm not so much. The older school guy or the new school guys just. Because it's what i like to listen to so i like to play it. Yeah i bring to the table. And then the other guys bring their elements in the table. And i think just. Naturally you know makes us cohesive thing that is just eugene levy and. I don't think we sound like anybody else which is really a really cool. A really cool thing to have right. You know to not not be a rip off of somebody so that's a long. It's a long long answer. I know but no nowadays. Fine it really is. And and i've. I've found that as i as i keep doing. These interviews and whatnot is his. It's hard to explain our sound our style. That's the best way i can do it. I think yeah and Britney was said what i was going to say You know making your own sound and being authentic as is is true as being true to any band musician. I mean that's always the point right. She's she's right. Yeah yeah making your your own stamp your own brand your own you know taste reliever whatever whatever you wanna call it. you know. everyone's got a different name for it. I just don't. I think i think that you know a fortunately a lot of pop bins nowadays there. You know. there's an influx right right now. There's just an influx of you know asks loads of pop bins and it's a great thing however is easier now to get lost in that crowd. Right is as as an artist or as a ban so many guys you know will set a bitch. I need to sound like net deep brownie to sound like stories so far. I need to sound like this and when you do that you know what i mean. You're not doing yourself any favors. And so what. "With any artist right. It's like like. I don't know any any band that you'd love or any art. Basically general alfred hitchcock offer hitchcock made some slapstick comedy. You kind of be like wait. What given moves amazing you know. Give me the suspense. You know the and for whatever reason it's like. I guess what what we were doing because our you know it's not like we didn't do the acoustic thing we always every album. We put out with always outlet one or two songs that were kind of in that vibe. You know. I think what it was manages coming up in that scene with bands like follow boy and my chemical romance and all that like that that kind of emo pop punk scene. I think it was the acoustic songs that may be like. No one else was really doing or maybe just we were doing them a little bit better than than some people so those are the ones that just for whatever reason like boom those made More of an impact on malt. Maybe it was because it was like. Oh yeah like doing the cool. They're doing the fun pop on jimmy world. Follow boy thing but then they do this other thing. That's actually a little bit more unique to them. Maybe i don't know like i said there's no like i wish i could like you know. Have the exact to answer formula for that. Were why but you know it is what it is. And hey we're i'm feel very grateful just to have a few hits nonce like so many bands. We toured with and been friends with that. Were like easily as good as we we are. We were whatever and you know they just never got that lucky breaker. They didn't quite work hard enough for just unaccustomed they gave up or whatever the reason is you know it's like we somehow got got to that level that i feel like man. All those bands should have easily gotten to his well in. I don't take anything for granted. I'm very grateful so again whether it was like the pop punk stuff or the acoustic stop. I'm just so that we had songs that connected in a big way like that. Yeah i just remember when when we the first time we talked about six years ago we were obviously getting into talking about. Hey there delilah because obviously the the radio station i worked for is a mainstream top forty pop station. So that's what the audience is familiar with. When it comes to play. And i remember you were saying talking about trying to get people come out to the show at what seek theater and like just so you guys know like we really get into it at our shows like we really like rock because it's not just like hey there delilah kind of thing it's so because it seems like that's the kind of summer. Oh yeah. I like that song like. Do i need to go see that lie. You know what i mean. So it's like obviously we do a lot more than that but yeah right there was it was just kind of it was just kind of funny because we always like through the career. Yeah and even even up until now. We're finally like i was saying i'm finally you know figuring out how to kind of compartmentalize all the all of the different. You know things that i'm passionate about. You know instead of trying to put all into plain white t's and that may be confusing listeners. A little bit or whatever. It's like. I'm finally figuring it out but yeah so i think like i'm actually writing. A new plan went t's album right now in trying to again just maybe just Hone in on that. That southbound that i guess is like i said a little bit more unique to the teas that thing that we do that sets apart from our contemporaries honing on that a little bit more So yeah i'm actually really excited about nuclear on t to throw throw that in with million ntsb and all the other stuff. I'm still excited and having fun with white t.'s. So yeah that that's great to hear So i know your last record came out a plain white t's to be specific came out in two thousand eighteen which once again hard to believe. That's almost three years ago by south but parallel parallel universe. It definitely was a different album. Compared to american nights i felt like american nights was a bit more like the classic plain white. T's pop rock. You know man then. I think with a parallel universe kind of threw in some more Hop and like more experimenting with beats and things like that so hundred percent so with this new record. How is that shaping out so far is you're you're writing for like i think i'm a little bit more honing into while i just got i just got a frigging like age on my phone. Popped down should have. I gotta term. I do not disturb on. Jeff bezos steps down as amazon. Ceo what no said unlike little news blip own that like Do you have an iphone and like yeah really. That's that's nuts. I mean he's the richest guy in the world are almost no. He is the richest in the world. Yeah now i got a good man. You can yeah. I don't care where we do things on the fly. All the time on this podcast. That's what that's what makes it fun. I'm looking at my little apple news app. I don't they don't have anything here. But i'm sure there's something somewheres interesting. Wow yeah i wonder who's going to be taken taken his hot. Yeah very interesting Yeah now okay now. I see it man. What the hell weird right. Yeah i forget like how many billions in dollars that he's worth. Yeah and obviously. Since the pandemic i know he's skyrocketed even more because everybody's just staying home and shopping on amazon. You know i take that back. He's worth one point or no amazon. I either amazon. or bezos. Either way the same thing worth one point six trillion dollars crap did one point six. That's almost two trillion dollars. Yeah i remember reading an article not that long ago like within the last year or two saying that. Jeff bezos was if if the success of amazon continues and all that he's on track to be like the word world's first trillionaire while.

You guys yesterday I caught up with Kristen capillary. She's enjoying life far outside of Nashville. So we had a few internet issues not terrible, but we still had a great talk about finding balance after her divorce, her new cookbook and her reunion with Stephen Colletti check it out. Obviously twenty twenty has been rough for everybody but you sound we had to face a very public break up with your husband. How are you? How are you doing with everything I actually? Look at it as though it was a good thing to go through this the middle of quarantine because it really forced us to hibernate. We couldn't leave our houses and snow in that sounds it was actually nice because it was a lot of time I was able to reflect and focus on myself and not have to do interviews or. Or you know. So I was actually really thankful that we went through it at the time that we did but.

"It ended. I finally figured out who I truly was and had clarity and yeah I feel like for Russell. Es She had inspiration. But I feel like a lot of artists are like that. They get inspiration from relationships. That are like that that. Give them a learning lesson at the end of the day. Next one girl is wondering if she can reach out to an ex about a job so she explained she went out on a couple of days with the guy but decided they were better off as friends. They eventually lost touch but she came across his unique last name while she was job hunting and then figure it out that the CEO of the company she wants to apply to is the guys faller. Is it okay to use an extra network? I just think it's just so self serving but I don't think it's GonNa play out well anyway so you're better off just like dropping a hint some other way and seeing if the person wants to be helpful. I wouldn't just directly ask really you gotTa do what you gotTa do. And I think that is fine. I think for a lot of us. We don't lockout XS anyways. They reject That's fine. It doesn't really matter if you do get a foot in the door a CEO. He's not going to give you the job. You just need to be in that room to get the audition or have the meeting to get the job. So that's ornate is the door to beat everyone else. I think it's fun. I agree with Scott. If you and your ex were friendly when it ended and for these people it seems like they were friendly. At the end of the day they lost touch. Whatever there's no bad blood I'm okay with that but if you guys did have a release our ending you probably don't WanNa hit them up. Because then they're going to go and tell their father. Do not hire this person. So yeah you gotta play right by okay. I can get behind. Fine Scott Scott I love you. Are you guys before we go to a break again? You lost a yesterday and I just wanted to. I wanted you to know that I've requested the three hundred dollars and I'm still waiting Did you see my request? I'm GonNa do it now because I even. I didn't lose because it was by work so it wasn't my phone. I don't care the workflow. Ask any producer if they can get a hold of me on the phone bands a drop in the kit we received. Jesse within your band connects you with your bank. It's a quick. Is You know what I'm used to comedy giving you a hobby saying what's happening showing my outfit showing on shoes all be so there though. I loved at like listen if I have on pants by making it into a pair of pants and automatic underwear on a day like this. I am lucky. You're lucky but you are full hair and makeup. Why is that important to you? Because aren't you just doing the jam like everybody else? Actually well I WANNA suits. I wear my tracksuits at that Today I got up was oppressive for hamming. Today's the undoing. It press for Empire podcast Arkansas. So it was important for me. I was like everybody doesn't see me about. You are not going to get Corona Corolla raggedy. That happened is so squad. Showed up bright early because I had to look good for you and everything and you know I love when you do look good for me but Arkansas Liam Hemsworth. You know he's on everybody's top three list. What was it like working with him on his film a look at them is a look at them is fine. He is five by you. Know this is the second time working together. We did. Independence Day resurgence. Together we don't get real because we need a will smith but independent sixers together so when I found out that we were doing Arkansas together. It was like all my gosh absolutely signed me up. Court Duke was the director her co-star my luggage was Vince. Von I an ECLECTIC character by the name of her. This was totally different character from being ever filmed. And those sees you sing we founded an actual boathouse in Alabama and I had never been Alabama before will take us dirty dirty south but actually it was one of the most cleanest beautiful cities that I had ever been to like maybe into the Gulf coast more now but I'm glad we're Laogai but I'm glad John Nice down here and this movie comes out made on. I mean we were got council because we were going to premiere at southwest by South West and corona had just broke out and they had my outfits and wigs everything. Ready to play that recarpet or you believe. But it's a it's a drama and it's kind of like a bully. Dynamite makes a little drug lord. Kinda movie a show interesting. It really was and like I said getting an opportunity to work with Vince. Vaughn for me was amazing. I mean when I work with him I would literally stand off like man. This is Vince Vaughn. And he's such a good actor and so giving an such a movie star that it's an experience that I won't forget that would love to work again. That's so crazy because I feel like when people get onset with you they're like wow Vivica a fox in this game for so long and so consistent. Yeah isn't it funny? That you still jitters around other actors even though you've been in this game for a long time all the time. I never forget the New York Knicks game and I may and I met Kate Blanchet. Baby Oh my God okay. All all of that all of that and she was just so kind and so generous than yeah. I GET STAR STRUCK. Got So look. I'm in dilemma. Right now because everyone is saying. Take this time relax. Think about what you want in your life and really focus on your inner self and then people are saying this is the time to hustle. This is the time to lay the groundwork. Now you have this new podcast out hustled. And you have been hustling since day one. How you still keeping your feet to the ground right now yes. We launched my new podcast. Show last Thursday.

"Changes to games calm and COMECON and are we ready for some Justice League dark all this and more as he once again delve into the pop culture cosmos will end and we're back with another episode of the Pop Culture Cosmos this is drug last from Pop Culture Cosmos game source the Lakers fan speak and inside sports fantasy football. We truly appreciate everyone out there. Listen to all of our great shows but it wouldn't be pop culture cosmos without my good friend. He's our own art of foul of pop culture. Cosmos you gotta check out what he's doing today at Pop Culture Cosmos Dot Com. Also his great show topic clips. And of course. It's awesome book which you can get today on Amazon or Barnes and noble congratulations. You suck it is my good friend. It is Josh Peterson. What's up man? What's up what's up. I'm a I'm chilling man. Chillan doing a little Little podcasting I have been reading about Artemis fowl and I mean I didn't read the books but I have been reading about his journey to Disney plus and I am curious to see how that does as a my my friend. It is going straight to digital now. It is bypassing that theaters similar. What we're seeing with. Trolls will tour mice by a couple others. Disney has decided in one of its many reshuffling number of movies. What's coming out? When is it coming out if you decided to go ahead and forego the theaters for artists? Foul I think they should do the same for new mutants but they are going to go ahead and put artemis fowl straight to dizzy plus in the middle of June so looking forward to that and seeing how that will run seeing how that will play out. But I wanted to ask you as we're starting to see a little bit more movies being just you know just biting the bullet and sacrificing the dollars at the box office and this is something you and I've talked about in recent episodes and we're GONNA be talking about it again. I don't think it's always the right. Move trolls world tour. It won't ever make up entirety of what it would have made at the box office and then going to digital but it still with its record. Numbers still doing fairly well. And it's going to recoup some of those losses. Do you see the move as a good one for Disney when it comes to Ardoz fell I mean. I don't know if I'd say it's a good move. I know arguments follows based on a really popular series of novels that a lot of kids are familiar with. I see it more as a necessity than anything else like. It's one of those films that has been you know. They've talked about it for a long time there. Is You know an an audible high over this film and I just. I don't know if holding off on it and waiting to release it because they're going to have a bunch of big films hidden theaters as soon as theaters reopened. And I don't know putting Artemis fowl in the midst of that is a great idea so it looks like artis fell is going to Disney plus bypassing the theaters. I'd like to see and as we mentioned this before. If you WANNA go ahead and check back with one of our previous episodes a couple of weeks ago on the reshuffling of the decks of many of these Disney films. Don't even have a release date anymore. That had one that got taken right off. The board by Disney and one of those movies is new mutants and new mutants. I think should go ahead and follow suit. Because that's been something that's been delayed and delayed and delayed at any fan interest in the property as probably just come and went so. I think they should go ahead and put. That's straight to discipline. Maybe it would find a new life there. I think in the right cases as we've seen like trolls world tour and also like I mentioned before with net flicks with the chlorophyll paradox bypassing the theaters and going straight to digital in some cases I think is a smart move and would be I think following suit for the new mutants yeah. I'm confused why they don't just put it out on Disney plus on fx because it is something that Disney sounds. I it makes me wonder if they have special plans for this movie. Because it's one of those things that just has been you know it's been kicked to the curb so many times and there's so many things that have prevented this from coming out. Feels like it would just be something that would be great to put out on Disney plus as opposed to putting it into theaters. Because doesn't really sound like Disney has a lot of faith in anyway so why not just put it out there? I agree with you. It's just something. Just put it out there at this point. I think there's laws 'cause we saw with dark phoenix what happens when you are stubborn up to try and continually think that you can put this movie out and people will actually watch it. I mean some of the Fox properties that they have or that they were given Indus Fox Disney merger have just truly been lackluster at the box. Office I think was probably in their best interest to go ahead and send it straight to dizzy Feels more special so it probably would have garnered more interest but unfortunately that's not the case but we'll see what happens when artists foul comes to Disney plus in the middle of June June twelfth. To be exact so we'll gauge and see exactly what kind of reception that it gets when it comes out in June but we are going to have great episode. You've got a lot of things to talk about today. We're going to be talked about. Game Scum COMECON Justice League dark the peacock network when it'd be talking about all that stuff. Plus we also got two great guests coming up in knowing Ian fine talking a little bit more retro gaming and also as well in the second part of her April. Tv Update it's Jessica box from the TV ratings guide DOT COM. So she's GonNa be by talking about the TV seen going on right now with all the ratings and everybody's staying home and whatnot so glad to hear her. What's again on the show but my friend? I wanted to ask you this. Fifty one years my friend of COMECON comes to a screeching halt. It gets cancelled. I think that's probably one of the biggest news items the week. Comecon a something that you and I look forward to seeing all the events seeing all the different halls to see the different presentations all the shows movies. All the hope that these fans have all these these productions have when they go ahead and talk about. The great projects unfortunately has gone by the wayside because COMECON is cancelled for this year. Yeah I mean it doesn't surprise me. It is something that needed to happen. Obviously but at the same time like I'm curious is it. Did they say was going to go digital or are there you know? Are The people who were going to attend. Are they going to do some kind of digital presentation or is it has gone completely at this point? There's been no indication of any type of digital event. They could change. Your mind could make special ultimate. We'll have to wait and see but at this point it's been just wiped off the board completely until next year. I hope that they're going to follow the lead of games COM Games com as also as far as a live venue is cancelled but they are having a digital event over the course of few days later this year. So I'm looking forward to that because we're still going to be a Lotta great presentations there. And I think a lot of game announcements people still be taken place and we'll still be able to see a lot good trailers and all that especially the European markets which have really embraced the games calm atmosphere. There's going to go ahead and be a part of this great digital event for Game Scott. Even though the live of that which approaches two hundred thousand vigils on a normal any given year unfortunately is going to not take places year but with COMECON. I've not heard anything yet as far as digital wise so I'm hoping that there will still be because just imagine if they were still even a host a digital vent all the trailers and all the type of things they could do within that environment still and create nice and actually truly cool video event comecon is known for its known for all the trailers and all the star of the marvel stars together Supernatural Warner. Brothers whatever it might be all these people coming together. The exciting new announcements new shows from Nets Netflix. There's all these these things that happen. And this is probably a really bad time for comic book retailers to because they're the ones that. GonNa make a lot of money at these trade shows especially COMECON is so huge and this is a you know with the news. That diamond publishing is no longer putting things out. Darkhorse is not going to be doing things. Tillery will the print print and distribute again. Marvel has been canceling so much. It's making. It's not just a bad time for the film industry but this is also a bad. You know announcement for the Comic Book Industry. In itself but I will say this my friend. You didn't hear as far as the latest updates from these distributors DC is going to find his own distributors and might start sending out comic books back to comic book vendors as early as late April and with diamond diamond. Hearing that and hearing that news stated you know what we're going to go ahead and reevaluate things and start sending out things possibly as early as mid-may so by mid may we could have things as far as from a comic book standpoint and a distribution standpoint somewhat more realized Nakasone back to normal because nothing is going to be back to normal for quite some time with Comic Book Distribution. Looks like some distribution type. Battles are going to be set up between D. C. and diamond and that could mean that new issues a new episode could be underway soon to comic vendors worldwide. Which would be great. Which again like you said would be something that would be helpful if promoted properly on a COMECON video type format. Well it's funny. This thing with diamond is really a an issue. They created for themselves. You know I don't know how I get it. You know the covert thing serious. I don't want their employees getting sick or whatever it is but they're really. They're working in their their warehouse. You know they're they're pretty isolated all. They're doing shipping comic without. So I mean I'm curious how much thought went into the decision. Not to distribute now. They've created a trade war with one of their biggest client. So it feels very weird to me and I'm curious how much thought went into that whole that whole process but it's just kind of ironic now that they are now in a bidding war with because of something they did. It is interesting to watch as a whole as far as the Comic Book Industry and I think the very livelihood of the comic book relies in the balance on what these distributors and what these manufacturers epic DC Marvel dark horse and whatnot. Decide to do going forward. So it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. But as a entity games com is going to become digital for this year and COMECON as of now which I'm hoping we'll be changed will go to a digital event and if it does change to that will update you as soon as we can right here at the pop culture cosmos. What are your thoughts out there on? Game Scum COMECON and everything that we've talked about so far. Give us a heads up. Pop Culture Cosmos at Yahoo Dot Com. You're listening to.
