"Answer is probably somewhere between the pro football references is rarely rarely wrong. Whatever will get the answer. Let's hear from Lamar, so he's got the Monday night stage. But obviously no fans does that change things here is the defending and VP. I don't No house, no field house going feel beyond money, Not without fans, which you know is a very exciting game. You know, on the one being watched the whole rooms watching you just kind of put on the show's prime time game. You know the other thing too tight when Monday's the bridge in the liaison to take you back to Sunday as it was for so many years, I'm not trying to equate it. There's no equivalence outside that it's during the day of the week here, and there's a football game but a lot in subways. That's like what Thursday does on Lee. It's inverted Thursday's the bridge to push you forward into the next week. Where is back in the day Monday? Would connect you to what? What? What already went down, you know, but Thursday, you know, Thursday just creeps up on you and and I really am excited about tonight and taking are gonna get thoroughly into Minshew next segment just how viable he is. Is he really a franchise quarterback or at least trending in that the road that they like It is already there. I mean, we'll have that discussion now. But Monday night I It's just a different energy man, and it's really if you think about this, it's outside of a playoff game. It's the more I wantto have a missing anything. It's the most or major for golf for a big race or tennis, whatever, like regular season event for a team sport is by far The grandest event for a regular season of any sport. You know, I think I'm close. I think you're definitely right. It is it is. It's it's zone opportunity because it lets you either arrive or disappoint. And that's why this game between Lamar Jackson and And Pat Mahomes is so compelling so early in the in the season. We know that you know, as a Super Bowl champion, Pat Mahomes has arrived. He has been paid. He is he's He's the it. He's the face of the league in so many ways. And that's what the NFL needs in the Mark Jackson, who is is different, because I mean, I don't know if you ever become the face of the NFL, but he is. Why not? Because of his style, right The because of how we please and you know how he And I don't know. It's just It's just It's just a different different type of player doesn't fit the mold of a quarterback Mike Vick was the face for a year or two. He was going in that direction. Yeah, I don't know if I ever saw Michael Vick is that he was on maddened. You don't mean that stuff, you know, covered? Yeah, like that. That matters, But I see Morrissey, Lamar Jackson Mohr as thie. Like he's the evolve er of the National Football League. It's involving, and Brady Quinn was talking about this, You know, for for bit that you know the game is changing because these guys are so athletic and taken abuse their running abilities, and it's not just about You know? How can you be a great pocket? Passers? Can you be dynamic? You know what I mean? You know, But for me, the Mark Jackson is Maura the he's evolving the game. He's he's showing the league. That you can be successful and not have to be, you know, dropped back to 30 times a game 35 times a game and complete 70% of your passes in order to be successful and more importantly, to be what an M V P When was the last time did someone who in a quarterback? You have to go back to? You know when the game was different, like in the 70 sixties and seventies, when they threw the ball, you know, 15 times a game to find a guy, you know that it was not As proficient as a pack of a pastor. That was an M V. P, But I think he's getting there. It doesn't look as smooth as Rogers. I don't. I don't think it ever will. I agree. It doesn't look it. It doesn't look like it's a fully polished throw like it's like it's in the like. It's the end state like it is improvisational. All the time. It takes the guy throws a pretty damn good bowl number, support that the I support that Lamar Jackson throws a good ball like you throw a good ball. Louisville. He throws a good ball in the NFL. Very good ball. He does true. Not my homes. I get it. He's good man. Monday is gonna be a lot of fun, so hopefully tonight's going to be some fun as well. I know there's still some detractors out their eyes too small and the most there. She's just a little phase at Jaguars. Come on. I got a little lucky They've gotta win. Well, you know what I think is a little more than that. I think Gardermoen Chu is absolutely a player and I might be prepared to say Hes a franchise quarterback would have that discussion coming up next look forward to that, maybe even squeeze in a little to us If we possibly see him for a little bit that I probably not belittle. Incorporate that a little bit. We'll talk about the game tonight and Minshew moving forward next taking charity, CBS Sports Radio. Last week's in the books. Now it's time to review the tape and get ready for this week. We free begins tonight. There's no better place to get in on all the action that would draft Kings, the leader in one day fantasy sports. Now to add to this week's excitement. Draftkings has a free shot of millions of dollars in Total prize is up for grabs. If you haven't tried Draftkings yet, what do you wait before?.

"I'm gonna go ahead and give it my all. But I have to also give credits among teammates because without them there is no me. Every single week would try to come out and play hard and I can't do it without that supported my head coach. He puts in the plan, but my plays execute. Russell Wilson. I don't know where he got the Derek Jeter Handbook of Say a whole lot to say nothing. But Russell Wilson, he's great at it. And when you're a great player, and you, Khun back it up by saying a whole lot of nothing. Congratulations. Because his bank account at $35 million per, at least on a football field speaks volumes. The respect that he's getting from other players and probably one of the greatest coaches of all time, and Bill Belichick speak volumes. The numbers that this man is putting up with the opportunity to now throw. The football certainly speaks volumes. Russell Wilson is playing out of his mind. Let's see if he can keep it up. I mean, some of those throws that then he was airing out and pinpoint accuracy, going downfield and Hey. Pat Mahomes might be the overall best Q B. Pat Mahomes and his legs and his arms help save the chief's last night or yesterday afternoon against the Chargers. Go ahead and look at what Russell Wilson has done the past two weeks. He's had the best start. He is a bad man. Even though Russell Wilson might be too proud. A guy too polite, a guy too good of a teammate, Teo even say it. Russell Wilson is a bad man. Forget your teammates. Brother. You're the one getting the job done. You're listening to the jr sport brief show right here on CBS Sports Radio when we come back I told you about some of these injuries. I told you about some of these issues. I want to open up the phone lines to you. 877 Excuse me, 855 to 1 to four. CBS That's 855 to 12 for CBS. Your calls when we come back, But then I really want to take some time to break down all of these injuries. Did we really miss out on the preseason? Is that why all these guys are going down? And then in about 20 minutes, we're going to chat it up with Jeff. Car.
Literal Jock Sniffer - Season 3, Episode 4 - burst 1
"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

"The new part owner of the Kansas City Royals, the Super Bowl MVP of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes. No, but I was with the twins when his dad was pitching for them. And you know when the when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year, and I mean he's mean he's so bit in this city, and I'm talking to you now on the back end of the stadium, and I'm looking at Arrowhead Stadium right now. Which is a great gathering place in Kansas City and in the entire NFL, But, um I know every fan's air. Rallying around him. And you know what a great finding that was. Because a lot of NFL scouts, you know, thought he was too wild for the NFL. And you know, here we are in Kansas City, and somebody had dug up. I think it was 90 95. But when When his dad Was playing to the twins. He left the twins to go back to Texas. For the birth of Patrick and the Twins were in Kansas City at the time, but somebody found this little Every line. Snippet from the Star Tribune. Pat Mahomes left the twins to you know, be there for the birth of his first child in the Twins Happen to be in Kansas City, and so That was on Twitter and the fans. Uh um, take that, as it was meant to be. Yeah, Yeah. Great stuff. Ryan. Always good to catch up with you. Last year until after the All Star break, which is pretty amazing, and I countered with Lee didn't lose three in a row last year until our fifth game of the season. So there you go. That's it, and that's a good nugget. And I know the Royals have won two in a row for the first time this year, and the Twins have lost two in a row for the first time in 2020 So we'll see what happens tonight. Game, Erica Absolutely. Chiefs Sign Patrick Mahomes To 10-Year Extension
"MVP reigning Super Bowl MVP Pat Mahomes has a 10 year extension to stay with the Chiefs for a wait for it amount of money over $450 million plus some incentives. Donald guaranteed, but he will see a big chunk
Patriots sign QB Cam Newton to replace Tom Brady
"Tonight I think it's exciting to see what Newton can do a healthy Newton with Josh McDaniels and bill ballot check in this offense sieve juggernauts if you well and remember McDaniels they run a very innovative offense that Matt Werner ram mentioned it last hour in twenty ten they draft Gronk Aaron Hernandez they go to that too tight and sat before everybody else they have in the NFL did then it's copy cats city they hurried up shortly thereafter before chip Kelly was even hired by the eagles and now that's commonplace and this new read option type offense the Newton is a master of the patriots haven't done it given Tom Brady's obvious limitations in that category so this picture offense last year was a boring offense to watch it was a slog it was a struggle it wasn't exciting it was the first time where if you're a patriots fan you looked wistfully at the other teams and said why why can't we have Josh Allen yeah there is a ton of pics but always teases interesting to watch why why can't we have Lamar Jackson Pat Mahomes Ryan Tannehill why why can't we have to Shawn Watson why can't we have a quarterback who can move a little bit who can do more than the ball on the territory a five yard screen pass to a double covered Julian Edelman why well healthy cam Newton gives the patriots a more dynamic offensive attack I mean let's face it this was not a very good offense with Tom Brady especially in the second half of last season I think that there is that thirsty to try something new in belt check the is a really smart guy and smart people want new challenges and I think him new night I think introducing that element of offense which is going to come anyway because Jarrett Stidham is more mobile too so either way the patriots were gonna introduce more of that read option modern type NFL offense but and I think that excite spell check and probably excites McDaniels and in terms of where they're going as a running a running based offense Newton obviously is far more dynamic in that category the Brady too and if Sony Michelle returns to form a franchise and left guard this offseason me not to the patriots about their starting center David Andrews back healthy and they have three guys who can now play full back including two players who they drafted this year that's clearly the direction the patriots are moving find a really good and versatile defense and I Bella check as one league does this as the week goes this way Belichick is going that way and that you see that the roster construction of this team and I can even help

"Of the Kansas City chiefs is. They're going to be some kind of provision in there where he has the ability to renegotiate his salary. Based upon what other quarterbacks get who come after him as far as their contract renegotiations there's going to be a lot of discussion surrounding this contract until it actually gets done about just created the chiefs are going to be able to be but I can tell you this. They are really. They're locked in. I think this is something. That's going to be methodical. The chiefs are going to handle slowly and be very careful about how they do this but the make no mistake about it. They know that the number is going to be big here. They know that the average per year is probably going to start. It's going to start. At forty million per year. They know that the guaranteed money at signing guaranteed when he signs his contract is GonNa start at one hundred million and up from there. He's GonNa blow away the very top of this market. It's just a matter of how much he's going to blow it away and whether or not it's going to be something where he absolutely exercises his leverage to the degree to which he could exercise it. Which would absolutely destroy cities Cap? Because make no mistake about this. In my estimation he goes into this contract negotiation. Although the chiefs could play hardball. But they won't but he goes into this contract negotiation having more leverage than any other player in the history of the League as far as what he could man from this football team relative to how important he is to this team and how important he is to the league so you can best believe that the numbers are going to be astronomical and the the the the provisions and provisions in this contract and how creative. They're going to be as far as making sure he stays at the very top of the league. As far as his pays concerned are going to be things that without a doubt. It'll be groundbreaking in the Kansas City. Chiefs were prepared for that and they know that all right. That'll be interesting to watch for sure. But but you mentioned the potential destruction of team salary cap so Lewis. This'll be fun whenever you want to find out. How much quarterback is really worth Aska linebacker? So here's rob linkage. Last week who told me rob we were talking about Dak and we were talking about robbing Peter to pay Paul. And you seem hesitant. Are you now willing to Rob Peter to pay? Patrick yes I am I am. I am willing to do that. Look you back up the truck for this guy. Pay As much as he wants. He's got two years left on his contract. Just in the last two years alone thing about the playoff revenue that they've made the chiefs.

"The board will think about it and over the weekend and then hopefully have another meeting early next week to vote on sort of what we all feel we'll be the reopening of the NBA. Look I think the day we'll be in Orlando at Disney and question is going to be well. We have thirty teams there where we have twenty four. Whatever the number will end up being but I think Hopefully by the middle of July we start playing again always a lot of questions that we're starting to get closer to the answers and here's a man who was a bunch of Brian Windhorst. Windy what are you hearing about? Yesterday's call between Adam silver and the GM's well the general managers. It's Fi- talking to him after it's over a lot of things that Adam silver doesn't really care what their viewpoints are. Because they'll vote for self interest. He took a survey amongst them about their preference and the results from I am told. Were all over the board. There was no consensus in the survey and whether it over uses it in one I owed up. Only Adam knows You know the thing about the. Gm's is they're all going to have transparent motives if you're sitting in first place. If you're mark Lazarie the Milwaukee Bucks you just heard from you don't want a play tournament any sort of group phase. Let's just go to the playoffs. We'll play one verse eight. Let's go. We'll play land. Let me know when the game is. If you're in ninth or tenth place you want to play in tournament you know if you're in dead last place and your players are injured by Golden State. You don't want to play it all so the difficulty when you ask for consensus of people involved is you're never gonna get it and that's kind of what came out. Yesterday I get and make sense and everyone has someone has got to be in charge of what is for the greater good. And that's Adam Silver's job and we'll see what he decides to do so moving onto the potential playoff plans you easily at a very interesting comment on your podcast about a scenario and a team and a player that we are all looking to get it So one of the things I've been here I've talked to people in the League is the League is going to set this playoff plan to make sure Zion Williamson is involved now. I have to tell you greenie that paranoia is at the top of the list with anything in the NBA. This is the of my eighteen years covering the league. They're always paranoid about any everything. The League is screwing me and they're helping that guy and in this case you know there's a number of different reasons why the League would want to have twenty or twenty four teams a number of.
A first-round QB?! Inside Packers' gamble on Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers
"Hello two thousand five the Packers selected Aaron Rodgers with their first round pick in the NFL draft raising the eyebrows of many around the nation just a week ago the Packers used a first round pick on Jordan love out of Utah state and Brent with the Packers VP of finance in that two thousand five year he was in the draft room the night Rogers was selected looking at back of the decision to take a love finance brand today on the power lines on ESPN how long he believes Rodgers will play for the Packers no quarterback will ever set three years like Aaron Rodgers quarterback it just up to me as of two years the end of the most from Quebec has that is Pat Mahomes for one year there's nobody even close to use things like an eternity to everyone in the NFL right
Chiefs hang onto perfect record thanks to last-minute comeback vs. Lions
"Let's start with the chiefs patch genuine this we can then Detroit. We gotTA GOTTA get into this trump to the fourth quarter undo to play. He's down by three four at the name. mahomes scrambles fifteen yards for the crucial first down later in the drive. Dr Daryl Williams punches it in from the won his second score of the day cheese. Take the four point lead one last shot for the Lions who played well yesterday yesterday but Matthew Stafford's hail. Mary is knocked down chiefs. Hold onto win thirty four thirty to remain undefeated undefeated can't even start with you. How were the chiefs able to rally for this win against Detroit. It starts with the back to back gold ago. Situations wasted where the chiefs defense was able to stand up and force turnovers yet crystals fumble recovery and you had to be shot Berlin fumble recovery which ended up being a touchdown. Everybody on the Detroit lines offense was asleep at the wheel. Nobody decided to finish the play. There wasn't a whistle blown ended up putting six on the board so that's where it starts for me but when you look at yesterday's game the Detroit Lyons had an opportunity to win that game they had an opportunity to take control of it because for the first half of that football game the lions defense played pretty well against the Kansas City chiefs offense. I mean you saw some of the things that Matt Patricia was doing some of the bracket coverages on Travis Kelsey. You'll Sammy Watkins a lot of men coverages to eliminate those open window throws. They tried to make it tough on Padma home so when you look at that defense they did their job. The Detroit lions offense didn't do their job and that's where it starts. You've got to be able to capitalize on those back back to back possessions with Golda. Go to stem the tide to put momentum in your favor and dictate the complexion of that second half. They didn't put the chiefs away when they had an opportunity tremendous point is for is Detroit's Defense and Matt Patricia Defensive Coordinator in Kansas City. I'm doing plan against Kansas City last couple years. You can believe he made a phone call in that first. Half Game Plan looked a lot like the first half Game Plan New England has had against Kansas City and the two times that they were able to hold Patty mahomes down amount so that right there that was very very good Detroit. I believe is a better football team that NFC north. I believe now might be the best division. F- F- Detroit is the worst team. Let's see Minnesota is going to do but tremendous tremendous playmaking by the defense I see I don't mind if you have a bad defense. If you're GONNA have a historic offense you gotta be either. Get to the quarterback or you got a bill to make plays force turnovers interceptions in fumbles and in this game those turnovers what were they were to save him with you. Give Patty mahomes just enough just like Aaron Rodgers in this prime if you give him just enough time on that clock they they are going to march down the field in those two minutes situations in score because you can't do enough things defensively if you give them that chance but the chiefs chiefs defense you gotta give them credit. They made just enough plays that the offense was able to add to be able to steal this win because the offense oddly was the part that was holding the chiefs back early in this game you mentioned the lions turnovers and those were critical turnovers in the most critical spots but the chiefs themselves fumbled the the ball four times and lost three of them. The chiefs had three fumbles lost throughout this football game that stymied their own drives and this for me. Detroit deserves a lot of credit for playing as well as they did holding that chiefs offense. I know they scored thirty four points but one hundred yard touchdown return. You'll the chiefs offense to twenty seven. That's about as much as you can. Ask Your defense do held them debt. Winnie for the first fifty nine and a half minutes until the touchdown at the end but on the chiefs side of things good teams lose this football game great teams find a way to win the Kansas. City chiefs didn't play well. They turn the ball over a bunch of times. Pat MOMS missed you. Were right about the coverage. I totally agree for the first time this this season the chiefs you could see. They really miss tyreek. Hill Damarcus Robinson didn't have a huge Game Sammy Watkins Nabet huge game. They could use tyreek Hill and Patrick. MOANS missed some early passes asses were guys were open but in the ball back two and a half minutes left down three even when they get to a fourth and eight. Patrick Mahomes sees the right play way to make goes and runs and makes it is similar last year against Baltimore in a game. The chiefs didn't play well and Patty didn't play great for the nine that when he threw a pass tyrod kill this this when he ran himself the most critical play after that and the drive the one that put them inside the five yard line he finds Byron Pringle for his second career catch which one of eight people to catch passes Kansas City right now. They're playing their opponent every week and they're playing the Patriots record like there's there's two teams the league that are foreign oh Kansas City in New England and if you you give away a game like this if we do think the pats are going to be fourteen into and we know how important in theory homefield event could be then all of a sudden your plan from behind the eight ball so despite not playing a great game despite Patrick Mahomes for only the fourth time in his career not throwing a touchdown pass the chiefs found a way to win against previously undefeated team on the road in Detroit Kenny the same way the Patriots were able to expose their the the rams a little bit last year. Is there something to the fact that the lines did the same with the chiefs yesterday sort of put out there a game plan of how to do it and how to get to the chiefs. I mean they he did keep Patrick Mahomes from scoring a touchdown Jimmy. It's a Copycat League and Pat Mahomes was working on a street of fourteen consecutive games where he had two touchdowns or more thrown. I mean he's one shy of Peyton Manning's all time record at some point. Pat Mahomes is going to clips that record but when you start talking about the Kansas City chiefs offense. It's not a matter of if it's just a matter of win and so when you look at twenty three games sample size that we have as pat mahomes being the starting quarterback in that offense you recognize. You're not going to win a game against them. Twenty one seventeen you're going to have to to be able to score some points and that's why you have a razor thin margin of error when it comes to red zone possessions and that's why I go back to those two possessions that the Lions had in the beginning of the second half Accu- have to be able to capitalize on those plays if you don't eventually Kansas City is going to make the requisite plays to be able to win the game now as far as the game plan that Matt Patricia employed. I think it's good for the Kansas City chiefs offense to struggle like this against that game plan so you're young quarterback develops answers when he sees those looks later in the season and as we get to the
Baker Mayfield clarifies what he said about Daniel Jones to GQ
"It's new article in juke g. c._q. Where baker mayfield said. I cannot believe the giants took. Daniel jones blows my mind. Some people were thinking that's where people go wrong. They forgot. You've got a win. Win course baker one in college. Gale jones did not but i mean the point could if we wanted to decipher wins and losses. There's lots of great college quarterbacks that were drafted. They've got opportunities that have not been great pro quarterback danny waffle you know i mean look just even more recent like vince young i i vince young matlock venture was rookie of the year he he might so he will heed one early like it. It gets harder not easier. Yes it gets hard because now okay now. We know what you do now. We'll go back and watch the chargers film where you know that line just wants to stand you up. Make you make you stay in the pocket and throw over the top because you're small and you can't see and we'll see we'll see what the ravens did. Look baker mayfield was good last year. Let's act like he tore up. The league behan touchdown receptions against the good teams they he played against. They beat up on the bengals. The bengals the team at the time they played the bengals. The bengals were on track to have the worst defense in the history of the league and they played the ravens twice the chargers chargers steelers the texans the broncos broncos to make the playoffs char steelers did neither but those are the five actually six best defense played against ten touchdowns love interceptions fifty seven percent completion percentage. There were two and four now if you if you give context and say hey cleveland won one game in two years for the got there and look at how people view them now. Oh that's fair and people believe baker mayfield's gonna damn good quarterback bliss on act like he went out and did what pat mahomes did last year exact same guy no missed completely really different now. The the thing with banco is all eyes are on cleveland so all eyes on you you better give him something because if if you fall on your face all these wide you draft daniel jones all these <hes> do johnson deal talking about luke johnson's money. Oh you know hugh took a job in cincinnati. I don't like him for all this stuff that you're doing all these theatrics they don't get thrown back in your face and so if you can dish it out you better be able to handle it when it comes back and and that's what i don't know if he understands that could possibly happen. I'm sure he's not thinking they're going to fail but to understand. You got a lot of prime time games. You better perform

"Our scheme adjusted a little bit over the last call six seven games from time when we played them but keep to leave his back. He's a big part of that defense. So he gives them some juice. We got teddy Ginn back. But for the most part, everything is is very consistent. They are very good. Same front four, obviously when we talk balance and every game we wanna be able to run the ball go to control the clock. And obviously the more good draws you can put together to get points. You know, good things happen in the AFC. The patriots in Kansas City could be a barn burner. Casey wanting revenge for. Week five forty three to forty loss in Foxborough. It's the old FOX against the young pop patriots. Tom Brady's forty one year old chiefs, Pat, Mahomes Twenty-three, he's being smart when he says he won't compare himself to Brady and they're still a long ways to go. I mean, I'm a young guy. He's done so much in this league and is still doing it to this day. And so I mean, he he's gonna play for some more years to come. So I mean, I'm always strive to do some of the things that he's done with the Super Bowls that he's won. I mean that's the ultimate goal. He's not trying to pass the torch anytime soon, I mean, he's played at a high level this year and is expected to keep playing at this level for a police. Another couple of years Brady is in his eighth straight AFC championship game. Patriots' started the week as a three point underdog. That's the first time in sixty eight games

"I think college coaches are going to be in the mix this year doesn't mean going to get higher. But I think there's gonna be a lot of interest in college coaches. And again, this goes back to the whole thing in the NFL now with innovation and what's happened in the NFL over the course of the last six or seven months, I had a conversation what Lincoln Riley. Back in June. And I were talking about the idea that coaches come through there to study what Oklahoma doing offensively couple NFL people told me, that's why I called Lincoln Riley. And he said, you know, what in two thousand seventeen we probably had probably one or two NFL coaches come through watch take with me. He's like in two thousand eighteen we had twenty seven or twenty eight teams the cancer wanted to watch film with us. The reason why we're seeing more innovation in the NFL. We're seeing more open mindedness in the NFL to me is one of the most interesting stories of twenty eighteen we've seen it with Andy Reid the same. We've seen it with Sean McVeigh an older coach who on paper. Maybe you'd think would be set in his ways isn't. I mean, the stuff they're doing Pat Mahomes stuff. They did with Alex Smith before that putting in Utah concepts for for Alex Smith all those years putting in Texas Tech concepts for Pat Mahomes. It's exploded Sean McVay some of the Cal stuff that he put in for Jared Goff. Here's what coaches are realizing coaches are realizing that there's some good stuff happening at the lowest lower levels of the game. That's apple apple and isn't just quote, unquote, college stuff that that isn't just quote, unquote, gimmicky that actually works that's schematically sound that they can come and they can take and they can important the NFL. And so you're seeing that with those coaches, and because of the pipeline ri- running a little dry at the NFL level. I think we're gonna see teams was more curiosity than they generally have had in the past look into the college level. I think Lincoln Riley is the number one. And I'll say that again number one candidate out there on the market more. So than any other coach thirty five years old brilliant knows how to run a program knows how to reach kids is able to reach kids from different backgrounds was a great recruiter at okay? Mahomes, those how to teach all that stuff. I don't think he's leaving Oklahoma. But I think NFL teams are fascinated by him, and they should be. And that was that was born out with the way that NFL teams rolled through Norman Oklahoma last ops. He's but he's not the only one. There are a couple of guys that I think most people perceive won't leave there. They're all maters, Pat, FitzGerald, north western David shot Stanford, both guys super spectate as program builders have great track records, you need a lot to get one of those guys out of those places because those guys love were there at they've got great job security. Again, there coaching at their all maters in areas that are tied to, but those are two other names that I think you'll hear again this year Matt rule from Baylor. There's another one Matt Campbell from Iowa State to me is the real sleeper Matt Campbell. I believe we'll dry interest in places like Cleveland and the jets great program builder. Does more the more with less at Iowa State? They're great job over the last few years, Iowa State going toe to toe with the Texas and the Oklahoma's the world, and this is a little chip Kelly a few years ago. Now, you may remember when his name started to get on the radar and he was offered the box job and the next year. It takes eagles job. Lot of people thought it was all about the blur offense, and what they were able to do with the read option and all that different stuff. That wasn't really it. What it was was that these scouts would roll three, gene, Oregon, and they would come back to their NFL teams. Like, they just saw Bigfoot. You gotta see what they're doing Eugene. You gotta see what's going on..
West Virginia Mountaineers QB Will Grier to skip bowl game, focus on draft prep
"Step away from the rest of their team leave their teammates high and dry and also leave their education behind. I think it's I think that's unfortunate. Well, that's always the conversation about it being the feet. I call the feeder system the system to the pros and the worry of okay, I'm just going to get ready and he put out a message. He tweeted a message out where he said since arriving he and his wife have been welcomed by the family, and how blessed they've been and all that kind of stuff. And then he said that they after getting professional input. That's what he said professional input. I've decided not to participate in the upcoming bowl game and focus on the preparation and my family for I hope is the next step in in our journey. But I I think we're gonna see more of this happening. And I think it's unfortunate too. Because look you're ready dumped out maybe after the two years three years in his case and skip out. Anyway, I mean, you're not gonna finish most of these guys aren't finishing college unless they don't have a shot at the pros. Rose. So if that's the case, then I think he should play the ball game especially this ballgame. Why not? Yeah. And maybe if you want to train people to become professional football players, maybe different a different institution where that can happen instead of cow. Can you imagine that boy wouldn't that be interesting? So college football once all the money, they can possibly get and they get it. They make a fortune. That's why these bowl games was forty bowl games on a lot of the big tier ballgames, they'll make money. And if you had all of the guys that had the real upside the real possibility Goto some kind of a system where they didn't play in college. There was something else form that was at a high level. Wow. That would be that would be a game changer period. Philip across the US. Yes. But then it would change institutions where the money was backed when they were looking for through stirs the whole top. Apple the system and there'd be so many people that would stop that. Because athletes makes them so much money. But it is interesting, and there have been people that have said that well if it's so much than why aren't you staying in? And you owe it to the people of the university, and if you're taking a scholarship position as an athletic got the whole thing. I mean, it's always a huge conversation huge as it should be. Yeah. All right. So that's the big news for a mountaineer fans are not going to get to see him a lot of them not happy with that. But saying they understand his decision. Some in some saying, they don't be a real bummer if he was your guy, and he is incredible an incredible quarterback. And then you had tickets to go to the game. And then he's not playing in it it, you know, listen, it would make a difference for you, even though you might like the other players are you might just like the team in general. He was the star. He transcended it just like in the pros across the board in any sport. You're there for the personality of the person. That's the. The argument over money when you get to the pro level that why shouldn't you get a big contract because you're like a performer, you're like an entertainer people are there for the draw for the name. And what happens when you don't have a name. And you don't have a good team. You don't draw as much so therefore, they should be paid more. Now, you look at college same thing the draw how how long do they go? And the other argument side argument of this is why should we stay in? This the way we're staying in it terrific the injury to maybe not get the money. We could be drafted where we could be drafted. So this is going to always go around on the carousel forever and ever army, by the way, putting up some points. Ten nothing. They lead a kick was good enough to add more mustard onto the total. But that's it. So far at at this point in this game. It's really been about defense or miss. Opportunities in the case of navy a couple of tossed interceptions in the wrong direction in the case of army same thing. I mean, we're punting punting punting that they were able to get some points on the some points on the board. So a thirty three yard field goal making the difference. Thirty three yard field goal for John Abercrombie and army army adding some points, but still in the same spot as they were before not a high scoring game and not a lot of pad their against. Let's put it that way. What happened to what happened all the Pat? It went away. Right. It's gone. So they're not getting any of it jumping across back to the NFL got a couple of questions here. One from big Al who sent me something at Caitlyn. Radio dot com. He says Kate congratulations on the book deal. Your destiny, I ordered a copy at Amazon and speaking of destiny when you look at the teams and you look at the chiefs they're taking on the ravens and Pat Mahomes is this a team of destiny even without Kareem hunt. This team is still loaded. There's no doubt that he was a big part of what was happening on the ground for them. But the chiefs weren't going to stick with him after he he

"Of touchdowns. I imagine he'll be part of our Monday MVP poll when we put it up on our social media, Pat Mahomes, no interceptions this week but four touchdown passes. And even though he was missing one of his top weapons in Kareem hunt. He managed to spread the wealth. He's now up to forty one touchdown passes this season. Remember, he's got four games left. The needs fifty seven to have a lifetime supply of ketchup. Mitchell just what the call the chiefs radio network. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio eight five five two one two four two two seven year. Weighing in about the Kareem hunt case, and that's fine. Two things the reason I don't want to know the young woman's name is because I'm not gonna say it on the radio. It's not necessary. There aren't going to be charges filed. And I know what happens in these cases, I've done this for a really long time. I know what happens, and you can imagine why this nineteen year old if she's still nineteen doesn't want her name out in the media. Again. I know what happens when these days become public. Also for those of you who are telling me, she started it. She rumor has it. She called him a name, a racial slur. She's fitness face. She hit him. I she wouldn't sleep with him, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. I don't care. I'm not saying she was in the right? She was clearly an abbreviated she was underage drinking. She should have been arrested for that. She shouldn't have been there. But it does not mean, a professional athlete. Can't maintain control and go back into his apartment and shut the door. His friends got an in there. She was out in the hallway his friends dragged him back in there. They were there to protect him. No, he couldn't say in there. He had to come bull rushing out the door again. If you watch the video it's pretty evident that he's under the influence of. Alcohol or something else? I'm not I have. No, I'm not at all saying that he was using other substances only that he looks like he's inebriated as well. We're not five years old. He started at no she started. No, we're adults. He's got a lot more to lose than she does. I'll tell you that much. And so even though she was in the wrong, you can see in the video that she goes at him just like Ray Rice's fiancee in the elevator. She went out to it. Doesn't matter. It doesn't excuse his conduct. You're a grown man control yourself. Again, she shouldn't have been there. She put herself in a situation where it was dangerous, and she was breaking the law, and she comes across like a clown when she's talking to the police if you want to go watch the video go watch it. She's lucky she didn't get popped for underage drinking. But it does not excuse his actions. I don't care. What name she called him. I don't care if this little biddy nineteen year old. Smack them. He's a grown man at a professional athlete at that outweighs her by probably a hundred and fifty pounds. He could hurt her more than he did. And again, he's got a hell of a lot more to lose than she does. Whether you like it or not too much is given much is required. He's a professional athlete. Who had his career on the line? And in that moment, he chose not to listen to his friends. He chose not to walk away. He chose to retaliate. And now he's paying for it. He also chose to lie and he's paying for that too. According to reports out there. Ian Rapoport is one he could end up getting suspended for more than six games. I don't know what the NFL is working on at this point. I don't really understand how they apply their personal conduct policy. It doesn't seem like it's a domestic violence incident to me because they didn't know each other. But maybe in that case they can suspend them for as long as they want because it's not Devi. I'm not exactly sure the NFL's lost so much credibility in this situation. These situations that it's hard to know what they're doing. I want to believe them when they say that they tried to get the video because they knew there was one. I do believe chiefs. Didn't know what happened because Kareem hunt lied to them. But the NFL is a multibillion dollar corporation if TMZ can get it. So can you? If TMZ can work back channels and find a way to get these videos soak in the NFL now is it is it the NFL's responsibility. Maybe not. But then don't be surprised when you get caught with your pants down. When he didn't use your homework. You didn't do your homework. You didn't use your influence? So there's a major disconnect there. Mom, says he's spoken to Kareem. But he also drew a hard line in the sand. I've talked to him. Keep it to myself between me and him. But we had a close relationship. That's all the stuff that happened. And I mean, we didn't we don't you don't do those things at the same time. I just got to focus on. Our organization cheese. And I know we have to move forward and keep going out there and winning football games. And if we want to have success this season. We made the decision that we made. We put out a statement to explain the situation..

And we're building it piece by piece with you go there you click on contact, and boom, you're in your into this fear, and you can. Send me your Email thoughts. And I got this one right from the I got this one from bear. Who says Kate? I can't believe the score of that chiefs Rams game. I guess nobody nailed the score this time around you would be correct bear who by the way. Excuse me. Said L A would win forty two thirty eight and that seemed high to me no L A did win fifty four fifty one. Do you believe that? Yeah. Jared Goff with a forty yard touchdown pass to incredibly gifted quarterbacks. Yet, Pat Mahomes so four hundred seventy eight yards six touchdowns, but he had two fumbles and a couple of interceptions. That is an on believable game. I mean that is really incredible. Nobody got it. Pete didn't get it. He said he's at thirty eight thirty to Sharon's at thirty four twenty four RO Nathan picked KC thirty five to thirty one. I said the Rams thirty eight to thirty four and Dan Texas thought the Rams but thirty four thirty one. So none of us were close. And then there's a couple of other emails, but bear was the highest got another one from Joey and Joey thought it was going to be a low scoring game. Rams win it twenty one to seventeen not even close. And so you have Pat Mahomes throwing the most touchdowns in Monday night football history football history. But they don't win. It's crazy. Crazy rams. I said this. We're going to be the game of the week. This was a great pick. So fifty four fifty one. That is some good football. And a reminder to all of you. Since I went down this path. That we do that. Now the score thing each and every week during the football season. So you can nail the score with us. On Wednesday night. You can nail the score. We'll do the nail to score thing. How about that? Let's go to this. This one is from Josefina Josefina. That's a cool name and Josefina says Katie I feel for those people in California, I listened to your friend. And I felt so sad listening to her story telling you about Thousand Oaks, you could tell she was frustrated and that she had never seen anything like it. And you look at some of this drone footage. They're showing of the wildfire stuff in northern California. And it is undescribable as you say there is nothing left. It's just bombed out ash and bodies, and who knows what's left behind? If anything's even salvageable. Well, yeah. That's the thing. I mean, the the they lose the they've lost everything. I mean, here's here's a heart warming story. The I knew I'd find one. I was reading a story about this high school volleyball team the girls team at paradise Adventist academy in northern California. Some of the players lost everything in the fires there volleyball jerseys, and they had this big match coming up, and they felt that in you know, they weren't worried about it. Their jerseys but felt sad about everything. So guess what happened? I mean, you have three girls that didn't have any. They lost everything period and shoes the whole thing. So guess what they did the opposing team went out. And they decided that they were gonna get donations. And they were going to get shirts for all of the girls. They got jersey socks kneepads and shorts bags filled with jerseys and shoes. How they did that so quickly. I think they were just overwhelmed couldn't believe that people donated what they donated and at the end of the match they handed every girl on the team an envelope of three hundred dollars worth of gift cards for places for them to buy clothes and they presented. The coach with a with gift cards and cash with over ten thousand for the families at the school. Oh my gosh. That it is incredible. Bravo, bravo. Bravo on them. Knowing that they weren't even going to be ever saying some of them couldn't even play the match and then. They went out and did that. And I think that's I think that's incredible Bravo to the forest lake Christian athletic director Laurent Gordon who set up a meeting with the school figured out what they could do. And then just went and did it didn't hesitate just took took charge went out. And that is fantastic is what that is. Okay. Let's move on to another one. That's a good daily salute move onto another one. This one is from Bob Kane. I listened to the show all the time. I've sent you emails and I've actually called the shell though. It's been a long time. I heard you talk about that horrible virus outbreak in New Jersey where the children died and. I thought it was so sad. I'm wondering what the update is on that. I don't even remember all the details. I just remember you're talking about the weakened immune systems and medical issues and the having problems breathing in the makeup sick at a rehab place. Well, you got that story. Right. And thank you for that. Eleven kids have died. Twenty three are sick. Thirty five have become sick from the outbreak, including those who died at a staff member who recovered actually, they became sick at the center. That's exactly what happened. So now, they're talking about separating the people the kids who are sick putting out a statewide call for volunteers, and they're trying to confirm new cases. And they're saying that serious infection control deficiencies have been the problem in this. Facility and hiring staffers with expertise in control, infection control experience. And boy, this is something to have these kids die from that. I just losing a child to that can't. I mean these multiple kids dead from virus? That is that is more than beyond not good. I mean, it's outrageous. And that's why they're trying to figure out and demanding answers. Right. That's exactly what it is. I thought this Email was interesting from Frank who says Kate I know you like some of the crazier things that happen in the world. And I was reading a crazy story about a doctor in the UK that was a fake psychiatrist. And this prompted other doctors to be scrutinized more have you heard the story. I have heard the story it made big news the last couple of weeks, but they say they there may be up to three thousand foreign doctors in the UK that are having their backgrounds checked after it came out that a fake psychiatrists with no qualifications was allowed to practice for twenty two years zolia. Alameda was jailed for fraud. And this happened a few weeks ago? She was charged with an elderly clients will to make herself then you know, she changed an elderly person's will to make herself benefit. Ficiary? So then that unraveled her story. She I registered in England and ninety five and she conned the medical people into believing. She had qualifications for university of Auckland in New Zealand. So now what they call the GMC there. The general medical council is launching this investigation into thousands of doctors. That's great see fake doctors, especially psychiatrists any doctor treating people and they're not real doctors. And these patients are being duped. I see lots of lawsuits happening here. This is not a good thing at all period. And this woman did this for her act of deception. Chin went on for a very long time. And the fact that you tweak that we will rather. That's the thing. That tripped her up. Wow. Moustache is gonna pay for sure. Getting too greedy in lying and scheming. And then it gets uncovered then I got this one from Kevin who says Nancy Pelosi makes me completely ill, Kate Delaney. I understand she's a top DEM. But I'm with the other Democrats who want to Nazi her be the.
Patrick Mahomes of Kansas City Chiefs sets mark with 22 touchdown passes in first 8 career games
"Week week seventeen of last season. And then the first seven games of this season in which the chiefs are six one. So in eight games. Pat, Mahomes has more touchdown passes than. Any other quarterback in NFL history. Also the chiefs were five for seven in the red zone. What first of all it's pretty impressive to be in the red zone seven times but five for seven is nearly automatic. Meanwhile, the Bengals for whatever reason could not take advantage of a chiefs defense that was the last in the league entering this game. And a lot of that has to do with what happened against the New England Patriots a week ago, the cheese numbers, really inflated or deflated if you take into account the game against doing and how many yards and how many points were given up to Tom Brady and the pats offense, but Cincinnati couldn't establish the run. While Casey is rushing for a hundred and ninety eight yards the Bengals managed sixty five yards. And Joe makes was definitely a focus for the KC d. He only had fifty yards. A lot of punting. A lot of three and outs. A lot of stunted drives. And while the Bengals dropped to four and three. What don't you know with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a by? They officially take over first place

"Just just to ask you a question about you. You talked about? It's a, it's a teaching moment for Pat Mahomes in the chiefs. Game to the patriots, this bingles team for whatever reason. They're almost similar in a similar vein to the chargers. They seem to always have something go wrong, whatever could go wrong does go wrong at some point and what? How are you able to bounce back continually if you're the bingos? Is this something that's defeating law obviously is not an inspiring laws, but can they move forward and continue playing the way that they have so far this season or is it some that we'll set them back in and bring back those old demons most? Well, you know, that's a good question with comes Cincinnati because every time it gets to a coast AM there seems like the details just don't get ironed out and they just never go away. They come back and haunt you every single time, and those details are the difference between winning and losing it and you gotta learn from them and you gotta, you gotta correct them, you know, look, patriots had no penalties in the game, and that's rare. You know, those details are so important. That's how you win third ones so important. That's how you wouldn't games and when you don't do it, that's how you lose game. So I think that's look at look at Houston Houston's horrendous on the details. I mean, Houston trying to give. Game away to buffalo, trying like hell. Now buffalo puts in Nathan Peterman and of course they can't wait to give the game away. He throws a touchdown pass, but they can't wait to give the game away through a couple of touchdown, passes unfortunate to the wrong ends on the second time, but our Peterman he just comes in and always delivers. They always pay them back at agape. There's no way tapers. You feed him back at agape, nobody's gonna have it, but poor kid, nobody's gonna confidence. I think he's got the, he's got the like what? Shaab got the loan guy. Once you throw that one, pick six on that out route. It seems like every single time you throw it, there's a corner that's trying to bait it and read it. And it happened again to Nathan Peterman unfortunately. And you gotta know not to throw it right. I mean, you gotta know like not. Let's not throw the ball on the outside part of field 'cause they get picked off, right? You gotta be smart about it, right? You gotta know who you're dealing with the arms trade to get it there. You know, that's really when it comes down to it some level to so unfortunately for Nathan Peterman and did not go, well, we're gonna talk about a guy that we, we have to give our do our. Due credit here because you know, we do like to make jokes GM street at times, but the Clapper in the Cowboys. They are back Mike, Lombardi, do you know this as you hear this? They are back. They did it..

"It's kind of the way numbers work. I'm somebody who's obsessed with numbers, and that's certainly something that needs to be said. There's context that surly necessary here. It's still not great. This certainly does not mean the end of the world. But when you look at things like this, it certainly is not great. And that's kind of the point on a different note. You know if you wanna compare and look at it in different ways and not that I'm all compared to, but Pat Mahomes. Has set the NFL on fire. He's now the MVP favorites as as of Tuesday's odds. But Pat Mahomes is the MVP favorite across the NFL history. Fourteen touchdowns in his three NFL games that he has played this season that is literally a record. So to compare anybody to Mahomes would be foolish. We all agree there, but I was curious how excuse me, thirteen. I said, fourteen. He's throwing thirteen touchdowns Pat Mahomes has. And I was curious how far Bab we would have to go to get to thirteen touchdowns for Prescott just out of curiosity, and you have to go back fourteen games for back Prescott. You have to go all the way back to week seven of last season. When the Dallas Cowboys visited the San Francisco forty Niners coincidentally with with CJ Beathard who is now the San Francisco forty Niners quarterback after the unfortunate injury, Jimmy Garoppolo it has taken back Prescott fourteen games to surmise thirteen passing touchdowns which Pat Mahomes has again in a very legendary fashion pulled off and his first three. Parts of the season. So there are a lot of numbers. A lot of things you can kind of put together and make things look one way or another. The point is something that we all knowledge, the Dallas Cowboys offense looks terrible. Looks awful. Looks atrocious. There's no defending this offense. It's broken in many different ways. It is. It is far from the offense that we have seen in seasons past season. Certainly like two thousand sixteen season. Certainly like two thousand fourteen and speaking of two thousand fourteen not again, we're not comparing anybody to anybody, but this Friday, the episode of a football life, the NFL films chronicled series critically acclaimed series. Football, I by NFL films is profiling Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys legendary quarterback soon to be ring of honor member. You know, I would imagine quite quickly over the next two years CBS number one, man, Tony, Romo and tomorrow on Wednesday. I'll be speaking with Chris Weaver of NFL films, friend of OJ alive who produced this film. And so if you have any questions about the Tony Romo documentary, Tony, Romo football. I've tweaked them to me. At our Joa, but for now, check out the trailer in all of its glory. Some people, how do you feel you didn't have soup really didn't have this. I'm like kidding. A Milwaukee sky walk. That's how I feel. Tony, Rome did a real good job, and that's when I knew he's got chest by the league. Touchdown passes for whole favor. Tony role. I was driving home from work when may and there's one of those billboards, there's this billboard, you just feel like, well, girls like me. He had that gunslinger mentality. Tony romo's, quarterback, bring out of your seat wells, a PC tripped apart that. He feels that like this. It's only remote. Welcome. That's an honor to be here. Let me see like that. And that's what you have to have a live television at. Just can't imagine there being a better word gratitude. I would give mornings be like, thank you. Surely going to be something special this Friday evening when the football life episode of Tony Romo drops on an fell network. Again, I will be speaking with Chris Weaver who produced the film for NFL films tomorrow on Wednesday. If you have any questions about the film specifically tweet them to me, I'm at our Joe again or Email them to me..

"I felt that if that had been made, I may very well also make that call given the guidance I've heard and would have been sick about it that I had to make it. I just, you know, I was, I think I was actually pretty good with roughing the passer. I made a mistake here and there obviously, but I think my, you know what the guidance I had then for those Ecksteen years in teen years made me pretty good. And and people understood when I just made a mistake, but Tony going to have to live with this now and I don't think it's his fault and I really felt for him at that moment because I don't know. I don't know where he goes from here. I don't know what happens next Sunday night after the games. I, I'm I'm at my home in New York, and and most often I. I talked to four, five, seven players and coaches after games about events of the day on on Sunday in week to talk to Pat Mahomes I, I found his father the the former major league pitcher and so you, you know you, you basically try to. I try to talk to people around the league just to find out things that are going on. And so one of my phone calls was with Callejas Campbell of the Jacksonville Jaguars I really liked clay's Campbell gentle giant, a really good human being, and I've gotten to know him over the years and like him. And I said, collapse in the first of thirty one games of this year's actually thirty because I didn't have the Sunday night game yet the numbers in. But I said in the first thirty games of this year compared to last year scoring his up in a. Huge number. It's up eight point, four points per game, which is gigantic that's up like twenty percent over last year. And I said, what's your theory? Why is it? And he just said, it's just the accumulation of rules. It's it's, you know, we talked a little bit about the roughing the passer calls and and everything like that. But but I, I wonder right now whether the NFL in its desire to protect quarterbacks is also going to materially change. The way the game is played. The way the game is done strategically. And whether this year there will be a almost a historic rise in offense in the NFL. What do you think? I hope that doesn't happen because I am a big fan of sent. I, I will tell you, in my opinion. There to fundamental principles of rules making. Number one is player. Safety. Remember two is maintaining a balance between offense and defense. I think college football has lost that. That number two. And if the NFL's not careful, they're going to lose it. Very interesting. Tony, two other quick things. I wonder when you watch the game now from your perch on high. And what's been the biggest change for you? What's the biggest difference for you from going on the field where you were for twenty years in the NFL to now you have a bird's eye view. One of the things, and it's not really fishing related, but being the the, the massive amount of research and preparation that that our network. To put on Sunday night. Football is is mind boggling to to make that show as great as it is, and we've all known. It's been a great show, but the effort by everyone behind the scenes to make it great is simply stunning to to to be a part of now. I really gained a new appreciation for the whole. The what, what's done to to provide that that in entertainment for those three hours to the to the American public. How about de miss it at all? I do miss it and I generally get down to the field before the game and say Hello to to my friends who are still ficials. Obviously, I miss that camaraderie, I miss the Saturday night dinners. The sunny post games after after the game, I miss that an awful lot. I don't miss really what we're talking about today..

"When you remember on draft day that Kansas City traded was with buffalo, I think they traded up to get him and people are really, you know, you're gonna make that move. Number ten, you're gonna pick them number ten and. He, I mean, I don't know. Is he a robot or is he or is he just off to a hot start? He's doing this against, you know, did against minister yesterday six touchdown. No picks no picks nine touchdown passes thrown in that game without a single interception. He threw six touchdown passes to a whiteboard, five different receivers. He threw for three hundred and twenty six yards. He has thrown for ten touchdowns coming out of the blocks in what is essentially his rookie year. Oh no, I he's as much the story of the pro football season through the first two games as anybody. Mitch, just for the record on October twenty second two thousand sixteen Pat Mahomes aired it eighty eight times against Oklahoma and so on. He had seven hundred and thirty four yards. So there you go and that's, it gets Oklahoma. I mean that's Oklahoma, yes. So for Andy Reid, who is not exactly the life of the party on the sidelines who been game, managing gay, managing for years in Philadelphia and Kansas City. And now he gets his kid out of pass, happy, Texas Tech, and he goes, yeah, just keep doing what you're doing in college. It's a, it's a, it's a a lot of people. There's a lot of I told you so's. I think they'd been lining up the experts about when we're analyzing this, these quarterbacks last couple of years, and he had some strong backers Nieta lot of doubters too,.
Dolphins' Kiko Alonso goes to wrong sideline vs. Ravens
"Get into a little. Bit about the pre season from last. Night so, there was a player Kiko, Alonzo It was dolphins and Baltimore and Kiko Alonso I watch this video right now there was a field goal tamp. About to be made in the final thirty seconds of the first quarter and. Kiko Alonzo went to the wrong side He was standing next to John Harbaugh, and Harvey goes you got to go back to the. Other sideline and Kiko had no clue now it's the most Kiko Alonzo thing, I've ever seen I was around this guy last year. It was eagles and, dolphins joint practices and he was one? Of the most bizarre, press conferences I've ever heard ages. Seem so relax and he would it really. Say anything but it just it. Came off as an odd way I someone would ask what do you think about Carson Wentz and he'd be like let me tell you Carson's good It was very late he was?
