Senate Votes to Advance Bipartisan Infrastructure Proposal

"President Biden in a bipartisan group of senators finalize key parts of the bill, NPR's Windsor Johnston reports. Senate Democrats are also working to pass a separate, much larger package. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says he's moving forward with a two track strategy to pass the largest infrastructure package. In decades. The first track is the bipartisan bill focused on traditional brick and mortar infrastructure projects. The second track is a budget reconciliation bill where Democrats will make historic investments in American jobs, American families and efforts to fight climate change. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has warned that she won't bring the bipartisan infrastructure bill to the floor until the Senate delivers the larger $3.5 trillion spending plan. Senate Democrats are expected to pass it by using a budget maneuver that would not require any support from Republicans. Windsor Johnston. "To be clear. Pam's heart and brain were both stopped. She was d- di dead. The plan was when the surgery was finished. They would warm pam's body up to regular alive person temperature and then do the shock paddle thingies to restart her heart like jumping a dead car engine. There were molded ear. Buds in pants ears playing clicks decimal level of a jackhammer or jet. Engine taking off that way. If any part of pam's brain registered the sound it would appear on the monitor and they would know that brain activity was not all the way dead and look. I'm no brain surgeon. So i don't know what happens when the patient you're working on is supposed to be dead. And then isn't like they're about to cut out the aneurysm. And then all the sudden the monitor shows brain activity. What do you do be like. I guess she's not dead enough. Why anyone goes into. This line of work is beyond me. But i applaud you as pam later reports as the surgery is beginning pam. Dear lifeless pam. Here's the drill. Turn on its buzz coming out like a natural d. The doctor or nurse by her legs reported that the artery was too small. I don't know if you know this but apparently they go through your legs to get to your brain during surgery. I may have mentioned before that. I'm not a surgeon. Another doctor says to try the other leg pam then says she popped out of herself through her had she could see twenty doctors in the room which seems like an immense number of people. But i don't know how brain surgery works. She looked down on the scene and could see the tray with the drill. Bits and the drill itself which she said looked like the handle of her electric toothbrush. That's when she was pulled toward the bright white light as she stepped into the light. Her dead grandmother greeted her pam wondered to herself if she deserve to be there. She wasn't a perfect person. She thought i'm not sure how she knew where there was. But i imagine if you're dead and you're walking toward a bright light. It's a good guests. You're in heaven and her grandmother said as a child. We expected that you would spill your milk. It's the manor which you clean it up. That gives us cause for pride

"Are not an ideal outfit for running now. They might sound unfamiliar to our ears today. But these puffed up pantaloons once grace the bottom halves and cavs of plenty of young women in the early nineteen. Hundreds there called pup tent bloomers because as pants. They're so big that they kinda look like those pup tents that soldiers would cover themselves in while sleeping underneath the stars even if you don't think they look like pup tents and i'll be the first to admit that they don't exactly in the nineteen ninety s. We would call these things hammer pants but they probably used about as much fabric as a pup tent did they were big bill louis and could balloon with air so not good athletic. Wear for someone trying to run fast. They'd catch the wind like a sail. Nevertheless there stood young. Bobbie rosenfeld at the starting line of a foot race that she hadn't even planned on running. She was being cheered on by oliver softball teammates wearing her wind. Grabby it's pup tent. Bloomers she was at a citywide picnic plate in a softball game but knowing how fast she was on the base paths. Her teammates convinced her to enter a one hundred meter dash. That just happened to be taking place nearby. She said yes without much thought and the next thing she knew the starting pistol was fired. Twelve point one seconds later bobby crossed the finish line before anyone else seemingly out of nowhere. A man came running up to her asking questions. Like where did you come from. Who are you. Have you run in competition before. And when he asked her if she knew who she had beaten. Bobby shrugged and said no. He told her that she had beaten canadian champion. Rosa gross. Bobby thought that was pretty cool. Then he asked. Do you know how faster time was bobby again. Said no he told her. It was twelve point. One seconds. The canadian record.

This was a really good read Describing group work and how to organize a group work setting that everybody finds fair and equitable And i think pretty much all of us who are involved in designing any kind of instruction have had some moment where we've had to organize group work and gets get some kind of pushback from people saying you know. Why are we doing this so this is a really good article. I think in terms of just laying out the the wise and the winds in the house for group work number two our number two Trend is slightly different than normal. "Human infrastructure. They steal the language. And the press regurgitates it They're planning to unilaterally consider a 3.5 trillion human infrastructure. Quote unquote package later in the year that would pay for freak childcare free community college, expanded health care subsidies and other programs. Yeah, And pay off that Oh, yeah. We got to take care of the colleges and universities the breeding ground for Marxism. We gotta do that. Sure. And the teachers unions? Yeah. They stand by us. They pushed their agenda. Whether parents and kids like it or not. We're going to watch carefully which Repubic vote for this, There's going to be a hell of a lot of them. They don't care about the debt. They don't care about your kids. They don't care about your grandkids. But don't worry, you won't be able to afford fish sticks, but you'll have a brand new bridge, followed by human infrastructure. What would we do without all this spending? How would we survive? How did we survive before? Meanwhile, they want to kill the economy a second time. Two years running, put people out of business subsidize people not to work. We're doing exactly the wrong thing in every respect. Exactly the wrong thing in every respect, But don't worry. We're going to have a bipartisan infrastructure bill and the Republicans go home and say I voted for infrastructure. Shut the hell

Geraldo Rivera Can't Decide on the Narrative of January 6th Either

"Last night, Geraldo can't seem to determine if his friend with air quotes Donald Trump incited a riot or not either. Check this out. I supported President Trump until the period following the election, leading it to the despicable events of January. 6th on January six we brought we bring you want for your damn people. The world and history an apology. But damn budget are all those wrong on both fronts. Profoundly wrong. How the president I have his transcript of what he said. We're going to go march to the capital peacefully. Unpatriotically is inciting a riot is quite confusing. I don't know if you need a thesaurus and dictionary. I don't know where you get what you just Making that up. I don't understand. Like the narrative goes back and forth between this was a planned insurrection to then Trump incited an insurrection despite the fact that Trump said, Go March peacefully and patriotic Li Oh, God, I don't know why you're making that up. And I was a friend of president trouble. Little bit friends like you. You know who needs enemies? I mean, that's being a friend. Two, man, I don't want any friends like that. You imagine that? I I tell Jim and Mike Mike Gold march on Cumulus headquarters peacefully. Unpatriotically. You guys deserve a raise, And then they go there slamming on the door and a cumulus blames me. Fred. Can you imagine that? I mean, I see it. You can folks you can listen to. I don't need to play it here. The transcripts out there. You've heard it 1000 times. Everybody knows what Trump said. But understand this left this cannot decide on a narrative and there's a reason I do. I talk about this stuff because you have to be able to dissect these people when you're able to dissect them and look at what's on the inside. You see, it's never pretty. The reason they can't settle on a narrative is because of what I just said. They're trying to determine what does the maximum political damage not with the truth. They don't care what the truth is. They're not interested in the truth at all. I'll get to that in

Democrats Can't Decide What's the Narrative of the January 6th Events

"When they listen to show because they can't settle on a narrative because they can't decide if they want to stake the claim that this U S soil since 9 11 by a bunch of planned, violent extremists have been violent the whole time, therefore be attack against every trump supporter because they want to associate everyone with some of the violence that happened on that day, right? That's so they don't they don't know if that's going to be the better narrative to indict half the United States population or is the better narrative because Donald Trump might run again? That it was definitely Donald Trump, who did it. It was a largely peaceful rally. Until that point, you get that. Do you understand that? Does that make sense? You got to get that before we move on because they don't understand. What they're basically doing is they're balancing two competing narratives, both of which, factually can't be correct. It was either a planned insurrection or Donald Trump instigated it. You can't have both of those stories don't make sense, right? Again. I know the coins begun in 11, even though you know, semi reasonable Democrats are like, Yeah, well, you know, he's kind of right. You can't have both of those things at the same time. The semi reason it's a very small portion. Maybe 001% But they're trying to determine which one of those narratives does the most political damage. Do we want to make sure Donald Trump's political career is over and that we destroy him and make him public enemy number one? Satan incarnate. He incited this. Write him. He didn't him alone so that he can't run again. Is that more important? Or is it important to destroy the reputations of anyone who voted for Donald Trump and associate them with some of the things that happened on January? 6th by saying No, No, this was planned. "Johnson plans to do that james. This isn't quite the level of the tony. Blair gordon brown is but it does suggest a Dysfunction perhaps in the way that boris johnson manages people. Something we've talked about on this podcast before where he plays tribes off against one another but it sounds as though in lots of cases. He's not listening to any tribes and is just telling people what what he plans to do of often. Having just thought of himself is that fair. I can go to distinguish between relatively small items of expenditure. But he's very keen on like for example the idea of a new trade promotion yacht and then big questions like social care whereas katie said he walked into downing street saying he had a plan to fix social care and twenty nine thousand nine. I think the the political urgency coming up with that plan has been increased by the pandemic. Anyone can think but the way social care has worked in the uk during the pandemic has been the outbreaks in care homes and the like the idea of being able to say look. We have put social care. More stable for seeing has become more politically important because of covid. The problem is that as cases at the cost and also if you look at those countries which have a public option in social care the costs go up so yes cost now would be five billion but the cost of decade down. The line is likely to be twice that. And how you gonna pay for this in the long term. And i think that debate is a problem because i endorse. Johnson is quite happy to just simply borrow more money than his view is. Look look how cheaply you can borrow. The treasury view would be well. Hannah second you can't be these law. Abilities are going on for such a long time into the future. You can't be certain that the cost of borrowing will remain as low as it is now for the foreseeable future. And then i think the other problem which is the moans for government and the demands for spending all increasing eleven. It's one of the things we talk about magazine this week. Which is you know. Kobe has suggested that you need shorter. Supply chains more resilience than you have one of the reasons why germany did much better in the first wave of covert in the uk did is it has more spare hostile passive in the uk does. Is that something that you look at but that is again very expensive. The fruit of china now means that you need to spend more on defense needed before cold war. Peace dividend is essentially coming to an end. Now that's from the uk because essentially spent that cold war peace dividend on the jeff politically i. It is almost impossible to restrain. Nhs spending in the collision demonstration that when the best it could do was to simply keep the increases are inflation rather than anything else. And so i think if you look you see a always pushes for a big state. But at the same time the tax base is eroding for them how to say he knew very well heart attacks one hundred room hotel. He didn't know how attacks one hundred rooms on airbnb and the government's aim is the no petrol diesel cars to be sold for twenty thirty on what is going to replace vat line in the budget. And so everyone you go. The tax base is diminishing. I've saint thomas. The demands of public spending are increasing. And that is not a healthy combination. Katie one aspect of building back better is of course the planning reforms which have become rather bitter fighting over the past few days that conservative..

"And said okay. I have my one plane that i use in. It's really just a list of things. So before asked before i go and go off buying something that i'm only going halfway us. I'm the queen. Serial killer note. So i got this. On that i cut out and also samantha instruction was happening here too. But i started out. What do actually want in a plainer and like it was in like in the pillows when those conversations were happening at keep coming back to this little note that i wrote have went ahead a weekly view on the calendar the action break into three parts that are like birthdays and stuff that i want to remember like a schedule so i know where i need to be a my to do list because i really do like lists i like making lists though. Mls something that. I need to have in a planner. Because i want somewhere to have my list so that i can put them somewhere where i'm going to see him. But the idea of having a vision board in the planner instead of something. That's apart with girlfriend in make in the never put on the firkin wall. So i never located. I'm like oh that was for the year. I wanna have a monthly. Stalin plan are in there. I wanna have some habit trackers so when ahead this list of things that are wanted in a plane or when i'm like down to the marshalls to get my little six dollars but that i'm gonna i'm gonna use. It adds the planner. That i have but the little one that i bought. It has some things in it that i'm wondering if they can turn into a real way to organize myself in a way that's gonna work so you don't have to spend a whole bunch of many instead of buying this. The sixty dollar focus. Planner that i would need to buy four of to give me through the year. I got a little six dollars down the marshalls and know what i wanna put into. I know what. I'm hoping to get out of it. So maybe that will make it something more functional in my life so that would be my advice. You don't have to jump into playing with the washy tate and the the bullet journals in all that. Yeah i think about what you want out of the planner and then find the one that fit those things for. Yeah that's where. I was gonna go with it because i might first question myself as always what am i trying to do. And what are the tools. I need to help me achieve that end so i am a between mind was i think like thirty bucks. This is like. I said the past planner. It usually says pass a planner. But i drew over it and it really meets alum. I need them even moving my someone drawings into the back of the book so i have one book for studio for sewing and for me. There's also not one perfect book. I think a lot of times a the planning piece gets taken out by trying to make the process in the book perfect in. It's just not so find something that is close to what you think you can use. And then go from there and like we already said you can customize it or whatever and the last thing for me to get started in the new year lau is like to do what i call the conscious close at. I think. I said. I can't remember where i review the year. Ask questions around what it was. I was trying to achieve. Did i achieve it. If i didn't what kept me from doing it. And i have different categories that i work through and then once i can close out the year then i moved into what i hope to do for the coming year for me. There's no perfect book picking if we're thinking about streamlining some thing about streamlining or whatever or just going to a new process if there's something as working for you one hundred percent and never fails you whatever that one thing is. Maybe build on that. Because i think that's what i did. Because i was that person with three and five books. Okay in this book okay. It's an oh yeah. Now is in his book. I didn't take this to clients meeting but now my life has changed their. "Yeah and i agree. I again when i went back and looked through this player. All the things that checked off. I was like that visual confirmation that i was getting stuff done. Even as chaos reigned. I was getting things done which increase years i could get to the end of the year in really like what would i do sheer but i had no record of it. There were Have a plan for never report. Which again is like this works. So well and i feel so accomplished by what i set out like just going back though in looking at all the things that crosstalk or check off embiid opening up my closet look it always examining shocks. Look at that obviously had more time but the fact that is that claimed that time in the executed in that time being able to see that plan has inspired me to go. I did that. I was consistent in that. I am consistent in that out into the rest of my crazy life and feel like go off the rails for me like a large part of matt actual professional work is planning for every minute of every single day which helps to keep my classroom running smoothly and then it goes completely off the rails for my personal life like at i guess earlier allied to write things down and so i have a nice a nice hefty book there. I use as a planner. And i've used this particular style of planner for i think three years now so this one is always get them to run from july through december of the following year and i wind up getting the the next one. I never get to september. October november in the following in the following year because school starts again and so i got it ramp up for school so the end really in this book it went to hell in march they were many things and then basically all i in planner from mid-march through the through the end of the school year was like write down how many days day of virtual school where we own. It was the book a sadness. Honestly when i was just flipping through. What did the last year lack that over to the side like alcohol at the very beginning i love a posted and so i have little serial killer notes all over the place on posted because unlike any the dead in my planner. If i don't have it right at fingertip it needs to pathetic my planner at wind with a bunch of lists that just go from summa since march admins ahead worker So sad list of all matt mass. Showing that i was going to get done when i felt quarantine was going to be two weeks ahead to two posts things that i was going to get and the things on this list. I have accomplished one ish one because it's just a list to sell. It never goes from business. What you wanna do break down into the parts that you need to do to get it done. And i think that a large part of that is because that's what i do for like work all the time i don't want i don't wanna do it. You wanna make the firm it for my personal life. But i still have all these things that i wanna to do. And so just keep taking posted it and my posted his don from the old book into the new book and you think naomi that this is a structural limitation based on the planet. That you've chosen to cause i'm thinking just that. I only mentioned that. Because i have a planner similar to the one that the show was just showing in it. Has this ability to take a list or even a sticky note that format for the book. And you put it in there. And then it's it's there and i guess i could certainly pass it on from month to month. At least i would see it incorporated. That's what i thought was interesting about what. Shana ahead this brad. I think essentially what. We're all trying to figure out what i am trying to figure out is. How do you turn the to do list into an actual plan not enough just to write it all down and sometimes it's good to have reminders of the things you're interested in when there's things you want to accomplish everything you right on. That list has to have a plan behind it. Journalists in the front of this player is the larger list of all the things. I want to so this year in three pages long but every month i would go through the list and pick out here two or three or five or however many. I thought i could accomplish things. I am voyages. So this she this month they would go on those monthly plan monthly november play in every month. They will go on the smaller one and then i would move them from the larger list to the war focus. Monthly lists the plan. I would break the plane down from here. I was gonna even here. I started even this list. I was gonna what says in fifty five twenty five. It was cut the pattern that the fabric. These are simple things. Like it's not is that i didn't get detail is louie one day. I gotta sit down to cut the pattern out on. Cut the fabric house right in the week suggest literally go monday night. Founded cut out the tuesday. That's so by doing that. The or the plan is that by the saturday and sunday. Which is when. I would concentrate on the majority of that selling everything that i needed to get done. She do. The sully had already been done. And then i could go back in march off the smaller list and then go back in market off the larger list so even if you start with that larger lists just breaking it down to a smaller list and then breaking that smallest after task to me. There's a psychological component of it too. Because john was saying when you break those things down you make the manageable when they're bite size and then as you check things off you have a sense of accomplishment is firs you onto the more you have a plan. And i've had this experience before the only was describing. I have all these things i to do over the weekend and then the weekend comes and there's so much i wanna do get paralyzed and i don't do anything what i started doing with reminding myself. Here's some of the things i want to accomplish and ben wanted to do that and then i have broken down and i can go tackle that so that helps me not suck up so much time trying to figure out what it is. I want to do business about my weekends. Please and thank you to be before. I started keeping a running list and i have a master list and then the list give broken down by months and then by break things down so that helps me and keeps me. Inspired keeps me motivated to keep going. But i realized not everybody wants to do actually come off on that larger. Liz devils as look at me. I'm getting stuff done. Grab a couple more. Let me clan those couple nights momentum going i have to do that for myself and even though all the big rocks are in here but i love the post it note.

"I mean i use mine. I was knocked off the rails with in life changing started. I like this one. I used past players as a plane from last year. And so i make figures imprint stickers. So this is my january. And i used it from boxes that this was founders weeks. Of course. I had lots of pink and yeah make stickers print stickers by stickers but i liked ads in the i will stay with something if it works for me so this one is like eighty percent there. I like the spacing. I like organized. And i am not one of those. People need a separate book for every activity. So i have to pick a book that i can put everything in so this was my birthday. We saga glitter on my birthday. Yes i keep up with my studio work an artist. I keep up with people's appointments birthdays phone. Saddam responsible for helping work stuff only goes in here it overlaps with my actual life otherwise i keep an electronic counter for the acting pickup from anywhere phone. So this one is one. I'm coming up for this year. And i i think y'all know repurpose pages. I don't like so they have a bunch of questions. But i plan like my paintings and stuff in here and i discovered the sections. I don't like with washington. And i think y'all also know that i like to do vision boards at the start of the year. Some vision board actually goes in front of my planner. So i have one just about life in general and then this one was about my business and that way it's always with me i can stay focus one. I bigger this year. This is my book for this year. And i've already because they had a logo their logo on the front of mine planter jews. Somebody and i got a bigger one. So that i can have a little more space to do planning and so i will start out decorate the cover and then in december. I will do some what i call conscious. Clo- close out. Where i myself questions about what happened over the year. Who knows what this one's to look like this year. And then i'll do the vision board and then i'll start planning for the you even got. That co threw you off if you're planning in. Kobe had the opposite effect on my planning in the plane that would normally have gone. Empty is full. Like i use the cleaner all year long. Every week is like windbags Prepared for this conversation. Every week as a consciously set down Made a planche. I told you. I can get past february before. For whatever reason they may go was right to step down and make sure. I get it done multiple different types of checklists back. What i know for mine is not as decorative so basically. This is what it looks like. Now's black and white. I have my workouts in here stefan tracking and it's much simpler. It just took me a minute to adjust to what life was like. And so i just stopped for a minute but you're right writing down to not have to pull it out of the scowl at time but no what's common. It does make a difference as i like to do it. So that's pretty cool dabur. I what i heard ever say. Was you have your digital calendar. That's what i can't do. I have to have everything. So there's no like. When i was working it was working with someone else. Yeah i that digital counter. But i have to have everything and it takes me so long so it's not making this. I have to search for another one and if you can look. I usually like this year. I didn't find this one until january. But i didn't find until january and is four. It's by it's like math fall. 'cause i put everything in it. Every every page looks like this and it gets really crazy and like the little stickers and stuff but that's just another task. I'm gonna try because i think just think it looks good and this is my main tool. I by these. By the case. I've been using these sense. Ninety seven paper mate. Ever stop making these. I'd be in trouble a draft with aids so this is part of my planning but and i have to have the pages like. Here's the my. I have to look at the map because i'm visual. It's someone asked me. Are you doing next friday. I can see it in my head. Because i've been living on this but then there's pages behind that i can take notes and plan and all of that space so i have to have everything in one race that particular brains of clear that you prefer urges that you couldn't find it for a while no it's not particular blaine brand i usually start at. Cvs and i ended up at whatever Store and because they'll start like an october and go through the next december eight hundred. And i just look for in. I don't care what it looks like. I just have to have the pages that i need and sometimes be because it goes out or whatever i can't find it same exact one so i ended up with another so you look at my last three of these. They're all different but they still had the same capability on the inside. Make sense saint pages so bad. I don't stick. Stick thing. Think i was introduced at at at the retreat. When tony tony. That's in the right way energy. Look to louisville's planner girls. I don't believe in a whole bunch of sticker books only own twenty sticker books. I'm all gonna twenty yards of fabric today. Only keep twenty thicker votes. I've seen other planners have like hundreds of sticker books. Only keep twenty. Because i'm like the space that all those thicker books can take and i use them to have inspiration with the stickers and just sometimes you just wanna have something that looks nice. I'm not as artistic as deborah. That i could sketch stuff. So sometimes on what stickers that look like me new york. I'm celebrating somebody birthday. I want to put that in my planner my finances monthly budget and it holds my weekly and his and and usually my fitness and but my bible planner holes just much scripture writing and readings because it was a planner that was gifted to and i love it. 'cause it's lavender and has a zipper only have tea planters. And that's it. I won't have kid be slipping through because if you don't see your plan or you're not gonna use your plan so right tony. Abbas one of. I'm one of the ones that had a whole bunch of planners at one of my finances at one for health and wellness. I had one for the business. I had one for sewing ahead my phone. That houses white all the kids appointments in all that type of stuff anche in my mind i was like oh i can keep everything straight because it has its own book and has his own place..

"Hi this episode is not so explicitly about sewing as much as it is about helping you get your stitch together. As we head into the end of the year and turning into twenty twenty one this episode is about planning and planners and making plans and specifically. I was interested in how people use haber planners i am a big paper person. I really like writing things down. I wrote my entire dissertation by hand in a series of notebooks. And then i typed it over again because for me. Paperback paper and pen interaction. I remember when i would read an article. I would summarize it in blue. I would write the direct quotes in red and then write my own commentary in pencil and then i would merge all that together and i know for sure that read or direct quotes came from bringing back in all the in our bible all of the words from jesus were in red so for me. I was using direct quotes. That i still remember the system and i still have some of those notebooks but the point for me today is that is to help us explore this connection between the tactile processes of writing something down on a sheet of paper and sewing something which is similarly tactile. So i am not today. I am joined by some fantastic charter. Members of black women stitch. In if you are patriotic subscriber you will get a chance to see the video of some of these people heckling me as i am making introduction to this episode. I am joined today by deborah nikki. Tony coonawarra shana and naomi. There'll be some other folks may be popping in and out but welcome to the program. Everybody you could say. Hey hey and bank you whole dissertation. Yes yes it's something about writing. Something by hand is now muter. But i wrote on my computer room dissertation using the computer. Hand i it's just something about bet pen to paper pen to paper the sound of the pencil scratching along it's is it feels like a making something so i really deeply attached to pens and paper almost like thank facial expression we i just ordered a raimo paper from amazon because i like paper but no was your dissertation three pages. Barack obama just said that he knows his entire seven hundred and some plate of page tune by our legal pads impending death the way he wrote it and then he is hoping on instagram talking about his writing process. Which there's a connection to pen and paper brains. I do love that. I love notebooks of paper are planning my dissertation three hundred pages and i wrote it on a computer. I don't remember things they've had. Don't write them down. I may earn believer in pencil and paper hal and ever succession that whole dissertation hug. The feel of that taibbi feverishly yasushi us agree different instruments. Color changes that was in the wedding. Reggie's say it so. I had like the did she have three different machine. Setup used to have pre machine set up an idol right now only had the sewing machine in the surger at put away the cover stitch thinking. Oh i'll just pull it out when i need it which is apparently never live. Same thing you insane thing. Three different instruments. That's just like changing machines brand laser if you got death page. I love notebook all of the planning for the podcast takes place on notebooks that are bid size and i have four. The moment there from the first bud seventy six episodes so far for me. I just like that feeling. And i connected to paper because paper and fabric are connected. They're both can be natural fibers. They have war warp warp and you can tear paper. In a certain direction it has similar properties. Something about it. That i do absolutely love. We're getting started to think about our planners in. I thought i was started. This feels more like this is a confession would this is just a small sampling of the of the planners that i have known and loved for one sentence and then discarding. I got this which reminds nielson's giant cloud college manuals. It's jag dancing with the big ranch. It all out on meet stiffer. I've made class the stickers for myself. I you know like all my appointments and stuff i did. I did a journal style. Second look back and look at this so this was the in twenty eighteen where it was my birthday month. We went to hamilton bri way. We went to the african american quilt. Guild retrieves a hell. Different meetings than other kind of work related things very my really involved really into it. And then next april rolls around conference more april in the rest of his book is at is blank has three three years of books. Just like that s lighter out. Every year i bought a new one about saints. You're one. I'm gonna get it together this year in if i pull them out. They're just like the january said wearing heavily populated. I was gonna do which empty the rest of the year. I might pop back in august. My oh since there. And that's where the nine over again and this might be because you are a planner like that's your job as a project manager means that you'd have to like do a lot of stuff and planet ow in yet you are the rest of us mortals with the making the donuts and like the donate dunkin donuts commercial years ago. The guy was like time to make the dough. This time to make the doughnuts and you just once. I finished doing that all day for other people in them. Not getting next off done in having like you out very organized but that is not the case. But can i keep others organized. Yes but when it comes to me. I'm just like wait. I don't want you make anymore..

"Continuing with our story young Father Josh Niles and his girlfriend Amber Washburn at been shot tit dad and their driveway in New York I'm like Oh my God no we were afraid for our families investigation led sixteen hundred miles Way to Texas then to a driver in a ditch in Kansas keep an eye on got a firearm on but another sharp turn is coming from is there a bombshell new witness is keeping a secret and Joshua's acts Charlene is key being one to horrible every day it runs through me here again Dennis Murphy can get your license and pay for this thing the sheriff's deputy in Kansas had responded to a guy from Texas putting his rental car in a ditch in the middle of the night license doc deal but something about his story was awesome how my whole life has kinda gone lately felt like there was something going on and it just didn't fit right he'd had a better day had been normal the strange encounter had all been left his mind a few days later the deputy got a surprise call from the FBI asking about that traffic accident the Kansas nine one one call had popped up during the search Tim Dean cellphone records and the FBI was trying to create a timeless Tim Dean in a murder investigation I thought well okay I don't know what I have an offer for this but here's everything I've got to try to help so now deputy because of the Lyon County Sheriff's department and Kansas found himself pulled into a growing multi-state multi-agency investigation they wanted to hear everything he's asking me if I'd worked this rack and who is there if he said where he was going with out of state investigators so eager to hear more the deputy he decided to backtrack and try to figure out where Dean had gone after the accident the deputy visited the garage where Tim Teams Rec car had been towed he again turned his body cam onto record coming in on your day off appreciate it the garage mechanics remembered helping him unload a tote bag full of ammo the when I opened it up it was magazines with AMMO and a big magazines a little magazine big ones style like miniature rifle also in Tim's car was a long gun that's what I saw the shotgun under the tote grabbed the shotgun and that's all scored best I wouldn't say it was like bulletproof earlier Ryan cost but it'd be a sport shooting best pouches or something I don't remember if there's pouches but it was all black and it was probably five eight pounds like it had some weight to become the job he should have video them into shop you should have we it right here they had video of Timothy Dean showing up to pick up a tote and I can see in the video he walked out with a concealable ballistic vest and a twelve gauge shotgun the garage drew wondered among themselves what this guy was doing with an arsenal in his car followed up on this side I even told him weird vibes about all this Tim Dean go next the deputy learned he had an uber waited and tracked down the driver at her office she said before Tim got into her car he warned her about the goods who's carrying he he goes it's shotgun from us is loaded he said no I'm not scared of guns she dropped him off at a local hotel let's last you saw can tim dean had left the hotel and gotten out of town but how the deputy assumed tim rented a new car after he wrecked his first and so he went over to the main car rental company in town enterprise seeing who I'm talking about half an idea yeah sure enough the rental associate on-duty said Tim team had been there he was the walk in from Texas who didn't have a credit card on him he will wbt but for where back home Texas or somewhere else this was about forty eight hours before josh and amber would be executed in Sodas New York back at his station Deputy Nikolai bought back on that loan chitchat he'd had with Tim Dean there on that body cam video was a back and forth stopped cold it's worry well how that a family friend that I was GONNA say going to go see but where is that all the way up in New York New York the scene of the crime deputy Nikolai relayed the information to the VR when I said that is going to New York everything changed to that point Tim Dean admits that he is coming to New York he is armed with more than one handgun he's also got air fifteen with him a shotgun all that to the deputy and us out of the road well I guess it's not uncommon for people to be in possession of weapons in Kansas but it becomes instrumental when he admits that he's going to New York as far as we knew Tim Dean didn't have relatives in New York but he did they learn have a fresh rental picked up at the airport and law enforcement would later have the make model color and license plate of that vehicle passing surveillance cameras on its way to upstate New York Timothy D was a heat seeking missile on his way coming up explosives on the door they back out that blow the door inside the all out blow out to capture Tim Dean what show is like a commando operations did they take him alive.

"The investigation of a double Emma side in small town upstate New York had moved sixteen hundred miles southwest to small town Texas to the Texas panhandle farming country energy drive north from Amarillo and you come on a place that's not much more than a shadow under the refinery tiny sunray Texas population nine thousand nine hundred it's in the county where Lieutenant Tom Plot Works Investigations for the FBI and the Duma police he showed me around summary so tell me towns like this in the panhandle Lizard Gazon smalltown America farming is pretty domino league seven four appear they have mm-hmm Leoro while refined myself refineries I saw a Lotta pump jacks coming in the puck and wing for and went farms or yes taking over the reason we've come to Sunray is because it's the town where Charlene's husband Tim Dean served as a chief of police the department has just three officers so what's the mission of being a small police force in a town doesn't abandon narcotics is a haven for small town America really absolutely so that your chronic from Nafta Narcotics Lieutenant Flood New Charlene's husband Tim Dean quite well he'd hired him years earlier and was happy to talk when New York police called asking about his history tell me about this guy who did you meet back when Tim came in he appeared to be you know a trainable individual and that's what we looking for to give a fire in his belly for law enforcement as did in thinking about it since he was a kid or he was working at Emerald Police Department with do their Kademi didn't work out for him and so he applied and do miss a few years later dean got the top job in sunrise fuck that uniform job ended as quickly as a slap to the face of his three-year-old daughter. The Rangers looked at that smartphone video of the incident taken by his wife and promptly arrested him. Tim resigned his position with the police a good by police chief job for him yes that's going to be a shocker right away our police chief is arrested out of office because of a child abuse allegation Yes yes at that point things start going south for Mr Dean with his job gone state taking away his daughter Charlene to kids as well plus a pending divorce I Tim Dean's life was in a tailspin he actually had to move out and move to Halcion Dumas's he's out of his job away from his kid out of the House yes and now New York investigators were wondering if that Tailspin had led to a very dark act a double homicide it was kind of a shock What's going on this this why are we thinking while we thinking tim here's why it's just a theory if losing custody was the reason charlene was divorcing him mm maybe Tim Dean had a reason to want Josh and amber debt maybe Tim Dean could save his marriage if he helped charlene get her kids back one way to do that killed their Dad Josh courts would have no choice but to return the kids to their mom in Texas they're question this Guy Timothy Dean our guy in the driveway with gun exactly suitor exactly so the question is where has he been what's his alibi exactly so we start trying to piece it together the obtained a warrant for Dean cellphone records rolled through and found something intriguing two days before the murders tempting wasn't at home in Texas he was four hundred miles away in Emporia Kansas and he placed a call to nine one one deputy corey nickel and of the Lyon County sheriff's Office is the Kansas officer who responded to the call he had called the de that he had had Iraq reporting the wreck it was for a and deputy Nicolette came upon Tim Dean by the side of a dark highway the deputy turned on his body Cam what happened well turnaround he was sitting in a ditch about two feet off the roadway and and got out and told me that he was making a u-turn and hit something can get your license and paperwork for this thing in general agreement with okay yeah we really do that around here as you see what the deputy requested a toe then asked him where he was headed honestly Dan I just driving my whole life is kinda lately more or less living out on my car but yet may get a real you work off this weekend then we'll take your car Clark started acting up on cops like asking questions and Tim Dean apparently liked answering them driver Kansas Texas off the body Cam was still rolling as they chatted the patrol car it started to sound like Dr Phil Towards your wife She's at home you said you didn't have home we have pending divorce all that fun too yeah that's mine pending divorce the while you're out driving around a home that bad it's all done he told the officer about losing not justice wife but also his job or for Frito lay now he used to be a cop Dumas's first and then sunray well pissed off the DA and African tackling some pretty big public corruption in cases with on my back and got arrested by the Rangers charge the officer didn't know that this conversation would be looked at again later he just knew that he was getting a weird vibe that point that I thought okay this guy just he'd recently pictures than normal everything in there and you know about now I've got a shotgun in their illegal drugs are and stolen thundering lanny tight here act Tim Dean story was making the deputy twitch he passed honest concerns to the backup officer on scene keep an eye on him he's got a firearm concealed carry getting a divorce from here but I didn't know what on personal soon they learn a lot more about this disgrace police chief in a roadside ditch in Kansas strange trip exactly what was he up to weird vives about all this and later one two three in the interrogation room why this double murder would have a triple twist when dateline continued that's what happens when a true crime show becomes part of the story hold onto your seats and the thing about pam is that chart-topping podcast series from Dateline and Keith Morrison this is a strange story a strange story and career strange stories things became personal all episodes are available now wherever you get your podcasts join us for the ride onto the thing about path.

"Two days after the murders mourners gathered outside Josh and amber is home for a vigil remember sister Angela still on high alert I remember just having the sense of you know our is someone watching me did you. As law enforcement we have reason to be nervous and they told us we didn't but still it doesn't always settle your mind her parents Chris and Marsha were struggling with how close they'd come to losing their grandson to Josh June who'd been right behind amber in the car might've been three victims right thank God it wasn't shoulder to shoulder with distraught family and friends with Charlene Joshes X. demanding justice as the news cameras roll the justice needs to be served. My kids need that closure Joshua's family hadn't seen much of Charlene since the break-up and truth be told they hadn't Mr much his sister Amanda which you think of her mentor at first I liked her she was Niacin always smiley seemed to make him happy as the years went on you can see as very unhealthy relationship when you say that what are you talking about I think would always fight in becker not getting along true rumor that sometimes she would call the cops on him all the time all the time and he would call me and say China Cups Again Josh sister say that Charlene off their brother was the real hot head in the relationship and instigator with nine one one on speed dial did anybody pull him aside bro You could Cuba's we've always pulled him is this isn't a relationship does our relationship is supposed to be you need to just break it off lows too were like water they just couldn't be together everyone agreed the Josh and Charlene were better apart and in recent years with more than that housing miles between them the agreed on co-parenting approach seemed to work I had them during the school year and he would get them a week after school ended to a week before school started and every other Christmas still the history of tension between them put Charlene in the investigators crosshairs well we're very interested in Charleen conclude one thing for sure detective were you able to rule out right away that she was not anywhere near the driveway that day I believed because a phone conversations that I had had with her that she was in fact in Texas on the day of murder so surely wasn't the shooter wasn't in New York on the day of the murder but it turns out she did have close ties notice New York close ties there to a local guy she had also mentioned during one of her phone calls she wanted her current boyfriend who lived in New York come and pick up the children his name was case and he lived in a town near Sodas Josh an average family members even remember him consoling charlene after the murders as though an official mortar you see was with Charlie and the whole time we were doing visuals for my brother and having get together as at my house so here was a theory if charlene and what role does he play this he plays a pivotal role police say Casey was a person of interest he also had a scrape of the law he insurance aim dated when she was just fourteen and he nineteen they had known each other in the past Casey had actually been arrested in the past for having me Asian ship with Charlene when she was underage Casey was on the list someone detectives wanted to speak to and right away we reached out to him and but this was weird after he left the sheriffs department why was he bragging to his buddies about being investigated in a double homicide we found out through some other people that he saw the himself as a celebrity status he was he was quite taken with the ears to tell them that he made us it's me me me also unsettling detective Melby learned that Casey was trying to offload a gun I know when Dateline Continues.

"Police search through the night had they missed their the canine sniffer ran out of said just a short ways from the scene attracted to a parking lot whether it made sense right I mean this is audie where your shooter had ditched his his car I assume so yes schools in sodas reopen residents were told it was safe to go outside again nonetheless Josh neighbors loved ones remained paralyzed with fear and we were afraid for our families because we don't know the reason we don't know who did this you know so we're just I being vigilant looking around the tentacles of this thing come back to us in some way that we have no idea and who knows a slower paced more tedious Schuler investigation became the order of the day knocked on every door knob knocked on every neighbor's door we get any nuggets anything a little bit with certainly no home surveillance systems that people have out there where to get people have interest on video so a person appears before the the shooting I'm guessing that is correct there's there's a couple of different videos of a person matching the description of what the witnesses had seen walking down the sidewalk toward is Josh Emerson here's one of them a person in a black hoodie walks through the frame at one fifty seven pm about ten minutes before the murder you can't see the face at one fifty eight pm the figure appears on camera again so the victims are being surveilled we've come to find out that exactly what happened and another critical piece of evidence had been bagged and sent to the lab for analysis black mask proximity thirty yards east of North Street on a ski mask lost or dropped by the shooter apparently as he ran from the scene one of the Canine sniffed it out did it looks Oh you firstly tossed or dropped headman trumped on in the modern under armor Ski Mask so I mean that's not something that usually people just dropped with the lab techs come up with DNA meanwhile investigators reviewed the statement the neighbor had given them about what she'd seen out her kitchen window she said that based on body language Josh seemed to know his killer the gentleman was sitting at a picnic table and Josh for some reason it had pulled his truck up next to the picnic table and he was just leaned up against the tail Fatima's truck just not shot just sitting there talking detectives needed to do a little more digging into the life of Josh Niles they can opted interviews with his family well Nicole's and the police came to see us personally there you have anything for them I didn't know what I I had no idea I I couldn't even imagine who would want to do this to him Joshua Sister Amanda thought it must be a burglary maybe somebody did try to like Robin four wrong time like did you worry then we've got it out Hoodie wearing gunman in neighborhood killing people are terrified to be home just with me and and watch out the window I'll scary his dad wondered if it was a case of mistaken identity we thought maybe he's a new home owner maybe someone thought Oh this guy has bad lived here before Josh that's go do something detectives also wanted to speak to Joshua's charlene they I reached this mother of two of his children as she'd been driving in from Texas the night of the shooting so this is only a voice on what are you hearing what do you think you have here I think I've got a A quiet little southern bell is how she put herself on the phone demure very demure very cooperative but she had some unladylike venting to do about Josh she had given us a little bit of information that she had had a problem with Josh in the past that there were several police reports Shirley told us some of what she shared with the police she says that despite Josh's sunny demeanor in private he could be a terror and she said he masked his anger issues with drugs he was fine as long as he had his pot as long as he had his marijuana to smoke other than that tranquil yeah if you didn't then things got bad if things go his way the way he wanted it to things got bad and when I say bad and for me she claims Josh violent on more than one occasion he crew a barstool past are nine month old daughter has just thrown switch all of a sudden as a different Guy Yeah and you don't know what's going to trigger them and it just it went on that entire day he beat the crap out of me and you know the cops in your report we say look this isn't working out like you but it's not working out for the two of US yeah meant to be together there was I had left and then for some reason I fell back into it and we ended up having another child and then a year after that is when I just said I can't do it according to police Charlene called the cops on Josh several times in one incident he was arrested and pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment after Charlene said he tried to choke her she says she was so scarred by the relationship she went so far as to warn amber his current girlfriend and fortunately I had warner was like you know did you take her side and said looking for this Guy Yeah I said be careful about what be very careful because he does have a temper and I don't want you to get hurt like I did anger drugs and morning from the X. If what Charlene was saying was true it casts Josh and his relationship with women in a whole new light coming out he plays a pivotal role a possible suspect loud and proud he saw himself as celebrity status he was quite taken with the back that he was what he called a suspect.

"Sodas New York was in lockdown stone cold killing had unsettled the town and left a young couple dead Josh and his longtime girlfriend amber gun down in their driveway amber sister Angela and got the voicemail from their dad he said and Kami I've got some really hard news and just the urgency and the pain has voice wishes that was the most difficult thing to hear I knew at that point what had happened and I'm still thinking I'm like you know maybe she still alive maybe they're still alive and then my brands going but they said there was two people dead you know ambers parents Chris and Marsha had not only lost their daughter but we're now worried about Josh junior their grandson who witnessed the shooting obviously the first thing is where's my grandson we're because we knew the time around two o'clock and we knew that was when she would be getting home with him from school hale they told us that yes he was in the backseat of the car but he was okay okay physically but presumably shocked and otherwise unable to shed light on the crime for you rolled Josh in your had been diagnosed with autism and is nonverbal he's right in the backseat and his kids Sita Yes yes he saw everything Renault he does the gun coming through the window shooting spree as the manhunt continued in Sodas ambers family puzzled over the killings they could not figure out who would want to harm Josh and innocent amber I had no clue whatsoever no thoughts no suspicions I was completely clueless you know it didn't a home invasion gone wrong now now now when it sounded like it was premeditated from you know the little bits and pieces together for those first couple of days twenty four rolled amber whether love of gardening and professional bakery job seemed and especially unlikely target she was such a sweet old soul she was kind and she was easy to go along get along with everyone lighter Joshua's parents gene and barb thought the same thing about their Song Josh had no they knew of his family says he was just a hard working guy with a flair for cooking he'd picked up a few things at his dad's restaurant growing up we under our wing and became my right hand man and it was way around the kitchen by the anything he was great in fact Josh had been putting a nice life together for himself a new business this was taking off just that week he told his mom that he and amber were thinking of making it official says we're thinking about finally getting married I'm like I'm Joshua doing pretty well together wonderful bought a new house getting their life started Josh had a lawn care business is he was starting on like they were on the road everything was going up everyone thought Josh and amber were especially devoted parents to his mom remembers with affection the light hearted way he told her that Josh Junior was on the way I got up to make my coffee like I always do and there's an envelope right in front of my coffee this mom dead so I take down and I opened it up and there's a ultrasound pitcher and ebbs some like voice from heaven or something and I meet your grandson yeah so I texted him you have something to tell me became with some difficulties would be a challenge for some parents right he was probably a year and a half two years old before we realized you know he was on the spectrum the he was right how did they is a couple of deal with that they don't Whoa with it very well I didn't know how my brother would react to having a special needs phase him he's a normal kid to him an amber was just wonderful with him carefree with him he could have and she would just giggling gallbladder business like she didn't upset her or anything but Josh Junior wasn't the only child in their lives Josh and amber were also loving parents to two children from Josh's previous relationship the custody agreement had given Josh and amber the summer months to care for them did it matter to your sister that new boyfriend Josh came with kids already had longterm relationship always love kids she had fantastic with my kids and she wore it well Joshua's ex girlfriend and mother to the children is a woman named Sharon lean children's she gave the stamp of approval for being such a loving second mom we okay with her being around your children yeah I was actually it was fine with amber being around my kids because she took them as that she was they were her own and she loved children arleen lives in Texas I'm sixteen hundred miles away how'd you find out I got home from work on Monday the twenty second of October and I started looking at baseball can I saw the news articles of shootings and sodas she wanted news of her children who at that moment were in New York with Joshua Nam Luckily they were at school out of harm's way she called Josh's Mom Charlene's on the phone yeah she called me and she said she heard you know and I just told her I salute somebody killed Josh Charlene hit the road from Texas says Detective Melby was trying to get a handle on the crimes he was struck by the sheer awesome it with a wounded but still alive Josh having to witness his girlfriend's execution so even though Oh she shot he's aware that his girlfriend isn't parallel yes probably sees her get shot yes he does I witness accounts tell us that he was yelling for her and then title shots as he tries to crawl for cover under vehicle doesn't make it that's correct from everything that detective was seeing it was a very channel crime there was several casings on the ground and told us that whoever wanted jazz styles dead was there to make sure that it was there was no chance he was quite a love Josh Niles had been shot ten times a message killer but one delivered by home coming up I'm a stewardess figure the mask on the ground did you worry then we've got a Hoodie wearing government neighborhood killing people are scary when dateline continues.
