"Who knows, right? They need to build that statue outside of they do. Assembly hall. That man won outright big twin titles. Nobody climbs a ladder like Tom krane. We've got a few questions in the chat. If you want to ask me, we'll get to him in a second. All right, I'm going to circle back to something. We got a question here from Justin, Nicosia. I hope I pronounced your last name correctly. They're Justin. So not really a question, but if I remember correctly, GP promised we'd hear a story of why he had to take a train home from the final four and we never did. Unrelated music question is crazy train by Ozzy Osbourne, massively overrated or true classic. It's a true classic. Now it's massively overplayed. I mean, you got a 74% chance of hearing of it. Any sporting event you go to. I get all that, but when you put it in the context of when it was released, at the time, Ozzy Osbourne really one of the more influential figures in that genre of music, it is a true classic, but things can want to be a true classic and tremendously overplayed and so they just become part of the fabric to the point where you forget even the impact of the music. So that is the Ozzie Osbourne related part of the question. I thought that maybe you said why you took the train home, but maybe not. So anyway, this is, I don't even know if the stories worth telling. So if it's not, we can move on along. But I figured I'd circle back and give it the opportunity. Yeah, I think they're worth knowing. Yeah, it's not a great story. But it is a story. The truth is New Orleans is where the final four was. It's about 5 hours from my home. So it was easier for me to drive there than fly. Like, you can't get a direct flight from Evanston, New Orleans. And so I was always just going to drive and then my wife was like, I'll just go down with you. I'll ride with you, but I can't stay all the way till Tuesday because you know we have children and she owns a store and all that stuff. She's got stuff to do. But I'll go down for like Thursday Friday and then I'll just take the train home on Saturday or Sunday. The city of New Orleans trained the famous city of New Orleans train from New Orleans to Memphis in Memphis to Chicago, Chicago back to Memphis down to New Orleans back and forth back and forth. She said, I'll just take the train home from New Orleans. I said, all right, that sounds good. So she said all right, look up tickets for me and go ahead and book that. Sure, thing, honey. So I try to do, hey, not like I got a million other things to do. I'll go book a train ticket. Now, too. So I go to do that. No trains on Saturday. Everything's sold out. No trains on Sunday. Everything's sold out. No trains on Monday, everything sold out. And she was like, did I just rent a car and go home? And I said, you know what? Why don't you just take the car home? There.

"Or earth wind and fire. Exactly. There were maybe as good as slave. And I suppose right now there's a bunch of few saying. Slave. Whose slave? Exactly. They all of a sudden, then all of a sudden, he didn't want to be a singer and a funk band. And wanted to be Johnny Mathis. Damn. When Lionel went to pop, he went all the way to pop, no thank you. It says voter one. Yikes. The one that these guys. Remain chose to remain anonymous burn some bridges voted to said, even if they nominated him as a part of the kilometers, which wouldn't have been an unfair thing to do, his body of work and you can't argue with its popularity. Feels relatively insubstantial. All night long is a great single. And I'd be happy to defend it. But I find the rest of us work to not hold up. The best argument to be made for Lionel Richie is that he sold a gazillion records in the 80s. So it's not what pat benatar did, right? Sold a shit load of records in the 80s? She gets in and Lionel Richie doesn't. I suppose she's more rock and roll than him. Which gives her the edge. Still doesn't deserve to be in. Pat benatar, but the same thing, Lionel Richie, sold problem. I think he probably sold records than her. The guy was a hit machine. I wasn't a big fan. I kind of tolerate some of his music now. But back then, I fucking hated Lionel Richie. Like any of his music. But that's me. Maybe you like them, and there's nothing wrong with that. The guy's talented, extremely talented. He's got a face made for radio. Him and Joe Jackson, not the best looking motherfucker on the planet. Got that long face, what did the man say to the most? Why the long face? Seriously. But he had the natural. He had the Afro going. I respect that. Never tried to press it down. He kept it real. He's a 70s dude. Lionel Richie? As I got older, I found a little more respect for him. But Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. No. But they probably will let him in eventually. I'm sure he'll get in eventually. Now we move on to what was referred to earlier on this list as the designated spot for rap groups, although Eminem was in there. Already. A tribe called quest and if you're not a hip hop fan, you probably don't care. You probably don't know anything about them. And that's fine. That's fine. Voter one says about a tribe called quest. Hip hop is great. But hip hop is not rock and roll. And I agree on both statements. The low end theory is a fantastic album. I agree. Q tip, he's the main vocalist for tripod quest. Is a very smart dude, as well as a great lyricist in a great performer. I just don't think they need to be in The Rock Hall of Fame. Hip hop should have its own Hall of Fame or institution. It's almost 50 years old now. So think of that. Think of that. Hip hop is almost 50 years old. I'd say it is 50 years old. If you really go to the roots of it, why don't they just have their own, but you know what? They can have their own Hall of Fame. Or what did he say? An institution or whatever. A museum. And let me ask you this. Do you think the hip hop Hall of Fame? Would induct Aerosmith? Do you think the hip hop Hall of Fame would induct, say, I don't know, The Rolling Stones? I could go down the line. I'm sure they would be true to the name, just like the country, music Hall of Fame is true to the name, but these fucking rock guys, you get the Tom Morello's, he graduated from Harvard. He's a well-known leftist liberal. It's not a political statement. That's what he is, you get the guys like that. And they start bending the rules. For their identity politics. No one said the fucking Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had to be inclusive in any of that. In diverse diverse in the sense of heavy metal, rock and roll, I've even give country rock a spot in there. But they're going way fucking out of bounds as far as I'm concerned lately. Thank the going out of their way to prove something. Do you think fucking Ozzy Osbourne would be like, yeah, let's put a tribe called quest in there. It's a bad bad Ozzy invitation. Fucking horrible. I'll never try that again. But I think you get my point. Just doesn't shouldn't work that way. Fucking changed the name. Jeez. All right, so where was I? So voter number one said, hip hop's almost 50 years old now. Similar to Dion and Dolly Parton, the unworked and Dolly Parton, a tribe called quest, has this inexplicable wave of respect because they released that farewell album a few years ago. It wasn't great, but people were so excited that they came back that everyone decided to will it into being great. Now on that point,.

"The first thing Ozzy Osbourne saw the morning of September third nineteen eighty nine was a puddle of his own drool on the floor. They're right next to where his chin rested against the concrete. His eyes blinked open. His lids were thrown back by the rapid movement beneath them. So rapid so forceful that. His lids couldn't keep things under control anymore. They opened under extreme protest. Ozzy was thrust violently from a dream to this. This was a dream if it was a dream. Who In nightmare is most definitely awake live? He lifted his head looked around. He was in a small cramped jail cell. The floor was dirty sticky soiled it smelled like piss and vomit smelled like the raw meat catapult. He used onstage after a show before they always did down he heard a scream from a deep gravelly. Voiced bounce down. The hallway heard the sound of something hard wrapping against metal bars. The clang of doors being shut clamoring open. What the Hell am I doing here? Is He thought to him so it hurt his brain? Ask himself a simple question like the devil himself had smacked him upside the head and let them to rot alone. Thanks to keep his stained floor. What did he done? Maximum was blocked off in a bar. Fight liberated the head of another wing Mammal de murder. Someone he genuinely had no clue. His head patted his ears rang. He called for help and the sound of his voice echoed down the dark hallway. The were still happening. It was one thing when Ozzy was the only one affected by his Co. Toasty tours when it was just his life on the line when he woke up the median. Strip in Memphis when he passed out cold on the tour bus. It took a while to get to this point shortly after. Randy's death ozzy at a breakdown once the IV drip of Senate is stabilized them. He went right back to the hard stuff he and his first wife were finally divorced. He married Sharon but even their courtship was rocky. Ozzy would go full. Ozzy drink too much nor too much sleep around too much and share with roar engagement ring into the wind and they went through over a dozen rings before they gotta hedged. Sharon had Ozzie. Check into the Betty Ford Clinic. Suzy checked out he was back on the hunt for trouble. He learned how to be sneaky. He had vodka bottles in the oven. He installed outdoor lights in his garden. Not because he caught the bug to plant carrots and beans at all hours lights were there so he could find the bottles boozy buried in the vegetable beds when he went searching for the late at night and then he tested positive for HIV he didn't actually have HIV but his immune system was so busted from all the alcohol and drugs that it thought he had the virus. The doctors had to run the tests a few times to make sense of it. The lab never seen results like these near-fatal amounts of alcohol and cocaine and his bloodstream. Never mind body thinking it had HIV. His body had no right to be functioning at that moment as his body was blacking out on him just like his mind and through it all he remained a vital cog in the American heavy metal machine next the blistering albums by Metallica Judas priest and slayer his nineteen eighty six record the ultimate sin was his highest selling single shot in the dark was an instant metal classic his next album nineteen eighty-eight no rest for the wicked peaked at number thirteen on the billboard. Two hundred the eighties were big for but damned if he could remember any of it just like. He couldn't remember why woken up in a puddle of his own. Spit in jail cell on this foggy morning. September nineteen eighty-nine. He couldn't remember the night before walking down the stairs and nothing but tighty whiteys sitting next to share on the couch. He couldn't remember telling her you had no choice but to kill her to end her life right then in there in the moment it was clear as day. Sharon was GONNA die. Ozzy was going to kill her. He knew what he had to put his hands around her throat. Squeeze was the cocaine talking the Hennessy. Maybe it was the gin or the pills could be the pills. Was it the uppers downers. There was no reason. No real reason. Anyway Lash out at Sharon. Wasn't ozzy talking trouble as usual. Trouble was in control. Took over his body. Told Ozzie went to stand in how to stand. So then he stood up straddled Sharon Sharon screen and get his hands around her throat and suddenly you can scream anymore. She struggled to bring her arms. Ozzy's face her nails right. For his is the weight of Ozzy's half-naked body press down on his wife. He watched her fight for breath fights. It's awesome onto the floor. And then just like that. He blacked out fully out the next thing. He knew he was pleading with a prison guard. Telling why was behind bars. The guard looked at him in disgust and ran down simple. You're an asshole. You attempted to kill your wife. Attempted murder by strangulation ause. He had tried to kill Sharon. He couldn't believe what he was hearing after. Thirty six hours alone with his own thoughts. Ozzy was sent to court. The judge let him go on bell but he had to agree to three ground rules. He couldn't talk to Sharon. He couldn't go home and he had to. Go back to Rehab immediately. She had seen the promise in the decade prior holed up in a hotel room with the shades drawn. She saw it again here in Rehab. Avaz was certified gold platinum the year after that one of its singles. Crazy train peaked. At Number Nine on the mainstream rock charts in the. Us Diary of a madman followed the next year was another resounding success flying high again. The lead off single went to number two on the US charts was just like Sharon had envisioned. Ozzy was on talk his reputation as a crazy performance was the top two is insane. Stage show included a mock execution academy that flung raw meat at the audience. The aforementioned occasional animal who is unknowingly beheaded the newly formed pita threw a fit about that last bit so ozzy assured them at the battle was already dead when he caught him. That beef was squashed decades later. And now ause he is one of Pitas animal loving spokesman if you can believe that and the blizzard of Oz ban toward melted faces and render black Sabbath. Nearly irrelevant ozzy was the future was on that tour in March of nineteen eighty two. That Randy confided nause in the back of the bus rainy told Ozzy was tired of touring. He was ready to wrap it up. Start a new chapter. Maybe go to college. Radio wanted off ause. He's crazy train sooner than later. Ozzy told Randy they talk about it. Another time poor himself. Another gin and tonic and then passed out as you woke the next morning to the sound of metal on metal sound of a quick demonic screech. Panicked it was like he was in a waking dream. Some sort of post traumatic sabbath stress slash apocalyptic vision come to life. He stumbled around the wreckage found. Sharon found the other guys in the band. But no randy. No Rachel there were gone. What in the Hell Ozzy wondered had just happened only later. Did he find out the tour? Bus Driver Andrew Aycock Fulda Casey Jones. The night before he was driving high on cocaine so doped up to endure. He would stay up all night to keep the Torah Rolling on to the next city. The AC and the bus was on the Fritz. Andrew stopped at a bus depot to see if he can get the cooler working while half. The tour slept off their highs. The bus depot Leesburg also had an airstrip. Mrs Surprise to those who are wake. Andrew revealed. He was pilot. There is a beechcraft. Bonanza a single engine. Six seater plane parked the depot. And they're making good time. Andrew looked at the beechcraft and then back to randy and Rachel who stretching their legs outside. How `bout he asked WANNA get up high. The friendly skies. They'd go up and come back down in a flash and then they could get on with the tour. Beechcraft Bonanza airplane has an infamous nickname. The doctor killer is referred to as such to a high number of high profile crashes involving wealthy hobby flyers who underestimated the power of the small plane and after losing control of the aircraft wound up dead Andrews Impromptu flight would only add to the planes reputation they climbed into the doctor killer with Andrew at the wheel and they were airborne quickly. Didn't ascend to high before too long plane loop back around adjusted its course and began to descend straight for the idling. Andrew pulled up on the yoke. The whole plane shook as it struggled to rise. The plane's wing dug into the top of the tour bus bending the bus and half the collision happened within the blink of an eye. The destruction was swift death from above today. Andrew tried to clip the buses joke. Just another prank pulled by tour full of pranksters or was he just careless tired from driving tired from being high and Nicholas underestimating. Dr Killer Andrew. Aycock died in the crash along with Randy Rhoads Rachel youngblood and took any answers down with him to this day. No one knows what happened. Something it was. The result of a careless or wasted bus driver turned airplane. Pilot out on a Lark. The deadliest of fuck ups ozzy was devastated. He'd brought troubled randy. Put Him in the bus with Andrew. High on cocaine for Randy in the crosshairs was almost too much to bear. Ozzy wasn't sure he can move on but he had to try. Probably easiest. Just forget it all get it off his mind foods would help so of pills and blow. He wouldn't remember much of anything including why years later he'd wake up alone in a cold jail cell..

"Occasionally they'd find their way to the record plant in L. A. To make music for a band that recorded the entirety of their first three albums. And what was less than a total of three weeks? Having two months to work on one record was both an eternity and a luxury it was hard to keep track of all the people who came by Stradella drive. There was one guy who hung around all the time he didn't fit in. He agree posture. Press suits. Dark Sunglasses didn't say much was always there when the coke pulled up. It was too obvious. Ozzy thought his NARC. What if he's a NARC was anymore undercover? Look at him. He clearly was not one of them as he continued to. Who RELIES ONLY? He'd do it with one eye cocked to the side. Never letting the sunglasses and suit fucker. Out of his sight his paranoia was validated on. The day heared sirens. Lapd there were coming up the road fast in the polished NARC with a great posture. He found it and he was in deep thing was he couldn't even remember how we get into it. In the first place he had no idea how long been passed out when he finally came to. Or how the hell? He wound up on his back laying the median strip of a busy stretch of a Memphis highway. His head rank felt like it was an advice each time a car. Screen by the vice. "Six bedrooms seven bathrooms one swimming pool a movie theater. The place was extravagance in Kearney and Savvas look forward to defiling it. They were there for two months while they recorded what would become volume for a record. They wanted to name snow blind which was also one of the songs they recorded. One of the greatest songs they ever recorded. Snow blind is a succinct encapsulation of that particular moment in the band's lifespan spent high to the Gills on cocaine. The record cost about sixty thousand dollars to make but the cocaine cost them. Closer to seventy five thousand dollars. You couldn't walk into the next room without tripping over another cardboard box full of the little sealed vials cocaine was delivered whenever they needed it. Which was pretty much always. Occasionally they'd find their way to the record plant in La to make music for a band that recorded the entirety of their first three albums and what was less than a total of three weeks. Having two months to work on one record was both an eternity and a luxury it was hard to keep track of all the people who came by Stradella drive. There was one guy who hung around all the time he didn't fit in. He had grieved posture. Press suits. Dark Sunglasses didn't say much was always there when the coke truck pulled up. It was too obvious ozzy thought he's a NARC. What if he's a NARC? What was anymore undercover. Look at him. He clearly not one of them as he continued. Who RELIES ONLY? He'd do it with one eye cocked to the side. Never letting the sunglasses and suit fuck out of his sight. His Paranoia was validated on. The day heared sirens. Lapd there were coming up the road. Fast The Polish NARC with a great posture. He made them. He must have made the whole match. Ozzy new issued a trusted his gut. So Ozzie went into full panic mode. We'd water burble backup Pasi clogged the damn thing. Ozzy slapped the handle some more but the water in the bowl comprising he heard the sirens. Get Louder any minute now. The cops will be banging on that front door. There were six more. Bathrobes Ozzy lumbered out into the living room and found six unsuspecting road. He's paralyzed with fear. Yelled at each of them. Born of their native Birmingham England's low-hanging industrial heaviness black Sabbath route the playbook scores of heavy metal bands since have followed incorporating everything from the horror film inspiration of their self titled. Debut to Ozzy's incongruous Beatles esque vocal melodies blanket most every one of their albums to the Proto Mosh parts of Ozzy's last savage record. Never say die simply put black. Sabbath rule. Opening Act - Rumors in Rock
"First false rumor. Did you ever hear the rumor about Keith? Moon driving a Rolls Royce into a hotel pool. I've heard a lot of stories about Keith. Moon well. He is the quintessential rock and roll guy and bad boy he definitely collected Nazi memorabilia. He may have bitten. Steve McQueen's Hog and blew up his drums win. The WHO played on the smothers brothers. Comedy Hour. I cannot wait to do his episode I am. I have like four books based on. Keith Moon I am. I am locked and loaded. I Love Keith. He is my soul. Well so those things may be true however there was a rumor that he drove a Rolls Royce into a pool at the Holiday Inn in Flint Michigan on his twenty. First Birthday. This is not true. According to Pete Townsend. The story is actually a combination of two different stories. That has become one not true rumor. So Keith Moon. In one of the stories like one of the incidents he left the Hamburg off of a car and it rolled into a pool which was under construction and to not have any water in hit home. Which would be worse though driving? Dr Into a pool with water or driving a car into a pool without water but he didn't drive the car into that. I'm just like either one either or I'm just saying like it just rolled in on its own. Which would do more damage I think you're pretty much screwed either way fair enough. The cars a loss of it goes near the pool. Yeah Okay and then so the second story that this was combined with to create the not true drove. Rolls Royce. Into a pool was that he charged new car to the band. Who refuse to pay for it. So Moon drove it into a muddy pond in his garden and call the dealer to come pick it up. So it's too true. Stories rolled into one story right. That's not true. Yeah Oh yeah. It's incredible and that's not our last Keith. Moon rumor either. Nope our next one which is true now okay. I should say with the caveat that these are true and false based on articles that we both read and so there might be room for error. So this is just like fun. Yeah it's just fun and it's inauguration. It's yeah just what we found. No one has photographic evidence. It's just fun fun so I hope you guys out. Don't get angry and you're like that never happened or that did happen bub-bubba so like don't don't get mad at us is just this is just meant to be fun and a little bit looser so and just for us to kind of talk off the cuff so Our next one. Which is true. Is All about Ozzy Osbourne. Oh my so ozzy. Osbourne achieved infamy overnight after incident on January twentieth nineteen eighty two in Des Moines Iowa during the height of his drug problem. That is putting it mildly. Ozzy Osbourne was performing when an audience member through a bat on stage. The singer believing that it was rubber and I do believe that he thought it was robbery. I don't think he would have. I believe that too. Yeah bid off its head as a stunt only to find out that the bat was real and alive not only that but as he declares in liner notes to the two thousand two reissue of diary of a madman. The Bat wound up biting him as well which forced him to be treated for rabies. The incident fed his rock madman legend along with the one time that he bit off the head of a dove which basically what happened was when he first met with Columbia records in Nineteen ninety-one. He took a live dub into the meeting with him and bit off the head in front of the horrified executives. Awful yeah so crazy man out. I wouldn't sign him to a record deal yeah. He was also arrested for urinating on. Or near the Alamo. And while on tour with Motley crue he allegedly got into a one upmanship. Dare contest with Nikki. Nikki six and I'm sorry that is at is a contest. I would never even get close to know but he ended up snorting a line of ants better than biting the heads off live animals. I think though no okay. The dove thing is kind of unforgivable. The bad thing is understandable. But you snorted a line of ants would if they were fire ants also. You just have ants in your sinuses now. I'm sad I read that. Oh my God you have to elaborate immediately regretted it I apologize. You should move on move on Thanksgiving on next all right. Here's a good one Kay cass. Elliot choke to death on a ham sandwich. Can We bury this now? Please yeah really not cool. I don't like this lie at all. This rumors terrible are you. Doing Mama Cass. Yes I am all right so this came up. Following a series of sold out gigs. In London Mama Cass retired to her apartment where she died of heart failure on July. Twenty Ninth Nineteen Seventy Four. A rumor spread very quickly that she died from choking on a ham sandwich which is just a horrible thing to say you know yes. She was a little overweight route. So it's believed that the rumor started when Dr Anthony. Greenberg the physician who I examined CASS. After her death wrote she appeared to have been eating a ham sandwich and drinking coca cola while lying down a very dangerous thing to do. She seemed to have choked on her ham sandwich. So so great job Dr Greenberg for that one. But point of fact her autopsy showed that a heart problem leading to heart. Failure was the cause of death not a sandwich or any other item lodged in her throat or trachea. She had actually had very little to eat the day before she died like her stomach was pretty clear. No dead I'm actually going to piggyback and double down on a Mama Cass and Keith Moon. True story with us. They were not but they did die in the same apartment. Yeah rockstars have been taken from US. Way Too young and it just so happens that two brilliant musicians died in the same apartment at the same age of thirty two Singer Harry Nilsson I love. That's my alarm. Every morning I wake up to his song. GotTa get out okay. If you've seen the show Russian dolls you'll know why I wake up to a song every day but He renounced his London flat to friends when he was traveling. And so on June twenty ninth nineteen seventy four Mama Cass of the Mamas. And the Papas was staying in the flat while she was on tour and died of heart failure in her sleep and on September seventh. Nineteen seventy eight Keith. Moon of the WHO overdosed on a sedative in that very same apartment which is eerie because they died in the same apartment under the same landlord at the same age. How crazy is that? That's a little

Now what have I been jamming first off? I usually don't listen to singles nor talk about them. Prefer to listen to the entire project but I am really dig in this new a lantis smiling track. It's classic Atlantis. I mean it has me excited for the album and just happy that she is still making amazing music. Now I'm working my way through royse the five nine the allegory. It's twenty two songs and in our in eight minutes long. Soa Is GonNa take me a minute. I mean in this new world of EPA's anything longer than thirty minutes is a mission to get through but Royce is classic hip hop he is woke af and so are his kids. His interludes with his kids included includes him quizzing them on woke facts. I taught them. It's a heavy won't because it deals with race in America and its history with race. The production is incredible. I WANNA have expected anything less from Royce now Christian hip hop albums whole the broken heart. Ep So I never heard of this up and coming rapper slash singer science rapper. Lacroix's reach records but Craig plug him on his. I G saying congrats semi guy at Harvey official on his EP. Keep your eyes on this kid. So that is the only reason I checked out this kid. 'cause I'm Craig Fan? I didn't learn that craze signed him to I didn't. I didn't learn that cray signed him until I listened to the EP and then I started researching the kid now dudas talented and he looks like a regular dude like nothing about him. Screams artist so watching his visuals on. Youtube is kind of mind blowing. I mean each track on the EP has a visual. So you can choose how you would like to digest his prajit cold world or cold water and if I gave it all our my standouts But the entire album. You can listen from start to finish. I mean it's an EP It's super short. The run time for this one is wall on Apple Music. Obviously that's why I have Include it's only six tracks but it also includes the visuals on it so it says that it's twenty or forty minutes but I'm GonNa just cut that in half because it's literally like a double album with visuals. So it's probably only twenty minutes so you see it's easier for me to run through twenty minutes than in our eight minutes like royster five nine so I did get to get through all these a few times And it's definitely worth a

I had a prosthetic, and and it really kinda look different than other kids. So I had a pretty isolated kinda rough childhood in music ended up being my refuge. I also became kind of a collector. I I like started collecting baseball cards in GI Joe's and immersed myself in like my own world. Really? And by the time, I was eight I was taking drum lessons by the. Time. I was twelve I was playing in bands. I started taking lessons with some really amazing drum teachers drummers, Alan Dawson, Joe Morello, rod more instinct, less rural just world class drummers.
