Tarasenko scores winner in OT, leads Rangers past Flyers 3-2

"Vladimir tarasenko scored two 32 into overtime, giving the rangers a three two win over the flyers. It's very nice to come back from behind and very nice to get a win, but our game should be better. The blue shirts trail two one until Chris kreider scored with 9 27 left in regulation. Mika's abana jet also scored for New York and Igor shish durkin stopped 25 shots in the rangers final game before Patrick Kane makes his team debut on Thursday. Owen tippett and Scott Lawton had the flyers goals and Carter Hart made 22 saves. I'm Dave ferry.

"You know, they keep that line together at 5 and 5 and they keep them together on the power play as well, which I think correlates well if you're playing a little DFS or you're looking for a shot props and things like that. So yeah, it's a great call. Cafes on that was for me too. Just a short list, but hot start. I don't think he's a 40 goal scorer, which he flirted with last year. I think when we look back, maybe last season is the outlier from him, but some goals 12 points in 22 games. And again, a lot of that came in the first month of the season. First few games of the season. But 11th and shot attempts at 5 and 5 over the last month. There's still there, but it doesn't seem like Dimitri. You feel as ice timed versus Moore's ice time. Phil is on the third line he's on the first line and I don't think they're ever going to split up that second line, but it doesn't seem like there's a lot of chemistry when I watch campaign kopitar and fiala, but I think that over time they could figure it out. Yeah, it's one of those things that sounds good on paper, but then you realize that kempe and a fiala both ideally want to shoot whenever they get the puck and then it's like, oh no, this is not the most natural fit and yeah, I think there's a bit of a stylistic cluster. I'm kind of curious just speaking on the Shaw props. Do you feel like they adjust quickly enough to this stuff? Like when guys surprisingly, especially at Trevor more, for example, you mentioned that he's beaten his total 15 out of 22 times. Do you feel like there's still a bit of an inefficiency there where you can target it or do you feel like generally they're pretty aware in terms of what the usage is happening and if a guy all of a sudden his situation changes, they're bumping it up to three and a half or whatever or changing the big. I think it takes a little bit of time. I mean, I'm really seeing adjustments quicker this season compared to the past couple of years. I mean, I've been doing this for the past couple of years and two years ago when I started at FTM it was the first time that I ever really tracked shop Robson bets. We have a batch track over there. And it took them forever. Like Nathan McKinnon and Miko ran were at two and a half plus money for the first few months. It was like holy crap. It seemed like they didn't understand it. And now with big name players, you're really starting to like whole coffee old page Thompson, Timo Meyer, all these guys are now juiced heavily. But a guy like Trevor Moore is on the second line. A guy like Owen tippett who jumped up the lineup in Philadelphia was on the first line. The books are not really adjusting to those type of players. Carter haggis and other examples, especially when Matthew could chuck was out of the lineup card of her head. Having a really good season for the Florida Panthers last year, it was great too. There was multiple games. I think a span of 8 of ten where he had at least four shots on goal. And he was two and a half plus money. Throughout that entire time, and then I think, you know, over, you know, I guess the span of him doing it consistently. Now I saw him last night. And what was a tougher spot against the bruins at plus money again, two and a half. So I think bucks are adjusting on the big players, but you bring up a Trevor Moore.

This is maybe the earliest that we've ever known or essentially known which 8 teams will be in the playoffs. The Florida Panthers and the Carolina hurricanes have been won two in the east for much of the season. Are they the two most likely teams to emerge from the east and make the Stanley Cup finals? I'm going to answer no to that question and it's not because I don't like them. I think both teams are excellent. But I just look at the east right now from the first to the 7th place teams. The separation at points is very, very small. I mean, you know, Florida has the most points on the day we're taping this. That's 94. Boston is 7th. They're at 87. So that's a 7 point gap between 17s. I could make a case for 17 teams in the Eastern Conference emerging as a Stanley Cup finalist. And then I can make it for Florida and Carolina. I mean, Florida, by going out and getting quadrille at the trade deadline, the old expression about bringing calls to Newcastle in Florida need more scoring. No, but they went out and got one of the scores in the league. Closure is going from the Philadelphia flyers to the Florida Panthers. That's the destination he wanted, and that's where he will go. Connor Bonham and is going with them, Owen tippett is going back from Philadelphia from Florida to Philadelphia. There are some draft picks involved, but the overall deal we're not a 100% certain yet, but Giroux has been traded to the Panthers. I did think that they needed to fight up on defense French rod is going to do that. They're going to have to muddle along for a little while now without Aaron ekblad. I think that's a key for Florida, the expectation is that he will be back in the first round of the playoffs. He is their most important defenseman. So that's the one worrisome area there in Florida. And I suppose that the other one would be the goaltending Sergey proboscis having a much better year than he did last year, but I do think there are some questions about how well he will play for them in the playoffs. No one is completely convinced that he is a goalie that can win a Stanley Cup, but we'll see. So I like their team, but by no stretch of the imagination, do I think they're a lock? Auston Matthews has been getting a lot of MVP buzz. Eric, can you talk a little about his season and how good this Toronto Maple Leafs team looks to you? Matthews is just a pure goal scorer. Riley across now, here's nylander. Now it's Matthew as a shot. Auston Matthews has 41. Power play goal Toronto breaks the ice. You know, when we think about those scores, sometimes we think about someone like Johnny federal, who's small and shifty and fast, mass used to be chuck's so many more boxes because he's a big, heavy player. So he's hard to move in front of the net. But he has a skill set that you associate with a more small, a smaller, more nimble player. And he can score it in so many different ways. He's got great hands down low. He has a great shot. He's been able to find the back of the net. Opens up for the one timer. Watch his highlight wheel. All of a sudden, the puck materializes on his stick and he puts it in the top shot. He finds the openings there. Counterattack Toronto. Marner, bunting. Matthews is in front. There he is. He scores. So he, to me, is the premier goal scorer in the National Hockey League today with all apologies to Alex Ovechkin. In terms of Toronto overall, you know, I'll go back to the same questions that we had about. There was some talk about wanting to explore a Marc Andre fleury trade. They had a great first half from Jack Campbell who was currently out with an injury, a very popular teammate, but his play had fallen off. Prior to him getting injured in the final months, they brought in Peter Mira's. He's had a very up and down time event. So Toronto, yes, they have the personnel. I think to have a deep playoff run, but they have to get the gold coming from the gold spinning at the moment. There's a question mark. The Pittsburgh penguins still have their two aging superstars Sidney Crosby and evgeny malkin. They're still a very dangerous team as we saw just the other night when they thumped my Detroit red wings 11 to two. This seems like the ultimate win now team, Eric, given what you've seen from them and some of the trade deadline moves that they've made. Can this team win again? Now? I believe they can't. Yeah, I absolutely believe they can. You know, you talk about Malcolm and Crosby being aging superstars aging to me is somebody that's fading. And neither of these guys is fading. They are just really playing well. Malkin missed a big part of the season with an injury at the start of the season. It was real good for.

"They pick up jost. He can help out on the penalty kill, right? They're one of the worst teams on the penny kill, especially as of late. Then they go pick up delorier and then a surprise pickup, I would say, from the San Jose sharks, a name that wasn't really being thrown out there quite a bit was Middleton. Solid defensive solid, solid defensive defenseman. If you look at his analytic numbers, I'm not the analytics guy, but not only I test, but everything confirms that he's a guy who they can lean on in that category. So bingo bango, they address all the issues they need to do, not the top 6 forwards, and you mentioned that big line of foligno and greenway. Well, who do they got in the middle? Eric's and eck. He's a fucking monster too. So they are big, they're mean. They have big mean guys who can play and then they add delorier to the mix to where now the other bigger players who are leaned on more as far as the place concern can worry more about the playing and if the fisticuffs need to occur off the delorier. So Billie G and I said it. We know they're getting 14 sheets the next two years onto their cat kills of the bio. That is, they're getting ruined. This year it's only 4.7. He addressed every single issue they needed to address and Billie G had the best deadline of any GM in the National Hockey League keep the fucking change. Wow. I mean, it's hard to argue, going out and getting flurry. Is that big of a move where I get some other teams in mind that we'll get to in terms of having great deadlines, but I do respect the hell out of Minnesota and guarantee going all in because as a fan base, when you've had the season they've had, even with the recent struggles, it's like, oh, please get us a little bit of help. Do something here and boom. He went out and did a bunch. Also our business a little GM on GM crime, Kyle Davidson, I guess him and dubas had a little TED Talk set. Kyle Davidson on Kyle dubas calling him out regarding the leakage. Kyle Davis and said, I'm aware of his comments and that's something I'll address in private with Kyle, Kyle dubas called him outfit. What did you say? Well, first of all, he didn't really call him out what he said was, is I wasn't appreciative of the fact that we weren't talks about potentially getting flurry, not knowing what the goaltending situation. Keep in mind, as of right now, their main starter, Jack Campbell, is coming off injured reserve. He was out with a broken rib for me Tapping him at the All-Star Game, my apologies, Jack Campbell. And it wasn't even a thrown out of the bus. He was more irritated the fact that they'd had discussions, why does the new GM for Chicago need to make that public other than to ruffle feathers with another original 16 in a different fucking conference? That's a joke. I agree with dubas and frankly, I commend dubas for not going over the top and telling that guy to lick my fucking cornhole at trying to fucking kick up dust. I think because everyone hates the leafs. Yeah. And we'll hate them right back. And I might have stepped up. Oh. Let me tell you, I actually, I actually do think it is a little odd to bring that up because not that he cares about what's going on with the leafs, but it is something that is kind of rattling for goalies to see. I mean, maras is on waivers, so they obviously don't give a fuck about his feelings. But Campbell's trying to come back, he was horrific before he left for the injuries. He had a broken heart. I think worse goal in the league since January 1st and All-Star Game when I tapped him. And then he was struggling before the All-Star Game and his broken rib. But to see that they're all of a sudden really don't believe in you and trying to get flurry. That is, in a sense, is right. It's like, oh, that just causes such headaches that I didn't need. And it is odd for a GM to kind of bring up a possible trade. Usually you don't hear. They'll say no comment. They won't discuss things like that until it's done. So I don't know exactly what Davidson said. I never saw you know what it is. It's a big brother type situation, or whatever other reality show you. So the organization that has three cups in the last 12 years with considers the leafs. I don't even think it's just a word that they would talk and get out. And there's no proof that Davidson leaked it. Oh, really? Yeah, it was just that he was pissed that the trade talks got leaked. And he's assuming it came from Davidson, but you know, you know all the people here about these things is you can't pin it down to Davidson, but in dubas head, that's where it came from. I don't give a fuck. I hope they fist fight in the press box and who was that a good deadline? I mean, are we going to that now? Are you going to get to G, not this G, the other G? Oh. The other big name on the trade market, everybody thought he was going to Colorado a while back. We had jpeg not up in the fourth period. He says, not so fast, Florida looks like they're in the running. Lo and behold, that's where he ended up. After playing exactly 1000 games of Philadelphia, by the way, the only play to ever play exactly 1000 games for any team in NHL history, pretty interesting fact. After 1000 games affiliate, the fly is traded closer to Florida Panthers, along with a pair of current aid shelves in a 5th rounder and 24 Ford Owen tippett, a first round pick in 24 and a third round pick in 23. Philly's also going to retain 50% of cloud salary. Several buddy Frankie said the drew who had a no move clause told the flyers. He was only willing to accept the trade to the Panthers. So it was just a matter of getting a deal put together kind of ties to fly his hands a little bit. He was the longest standing captain and fly his history. Obviously Florida was dangerous before they got him, the more dangerous now biz, let's go to you first on this one. I don't think we ever got a reason as to why Florida was the only team. Or did you? Well, he told me that's the only team willing to go to. Now, I don't understand why Philly could have kept that between him and G and not told other teams that, right? Oh, no. So the other two teams in the east who were making offers were the rangers and the bruins. And the only other team out west, I believe, who was offering enough to even come close to what the other teams are offering was Colorado. So Colorado was interested. I find it very bizarre that he wouldn't have entertained Colorado because if you look at the parody as far as conferences are concerned, Colorado in the west far above who at least they're in line to play right now as far as a wild card compared to where you are in the east with. I mean, who knows? Maybe they can end up playing Boston and Boston's no pushover if they end up playing them as a wild card. But going back to the trade, I completely understand why Florida, even though it might be overkill as far as offense because they are loaded offensively, they don't as far as the core group of players who are pulling the rope have the playoff experience. You look at Hubert or you look at barkov, you look at ekblad, who's now injured, you look at Reinhardt, even if you look at Bennett, all those guys who are really producing. The only other two players with real playoff experience in that lineup are net front presence, horned horny. And jumbo. And jumbo, but now in Al sharat, but he wasn't there. Correct. Right. And now she with Montreal..
