glass and it's still going going strong thirteen years later yes and yesterday we had our membership program thank you and they were over sixty five people on a sunday afternoon very nice very nice all right so you've created busy created something called legacy cone seared actually created kind of new company around this correct absolutely diva website yeah we do and its legacy hyphen corsairs dot com or people can learn about it can they sign up there yes they can sign up initially they can just sign up for more information and starting july first next week yes they can sign up to use our product for no charge for one month okay what do we need it what is it what we need is an a place to store information about our digital assets and electronic footprint this idea came to me because i got an email three and a half years ago to wish carola happy birthday she was a friend she had passed and the message came from facebook and i said why didn't anyone take that message down i took it upon myself i called facebook spoke to eight people and at the end of the eighth call they took her page down today that would not happen just with anybody calling up and saying take a page down they won't do it they will first of all you can't speak to anybody on the phone and secondly there are procedures because the problem is so used to point six million people die every year and this a high likelihood that the name is on facebook why is that about thing well if name remains their number one it's an annoyance to people who love them but more than that it's an invitation to fraudsters to pick up the identity of deceased person and create a new identity with the same name also to use their name to access the assets and banks credit cards credit reporting companies and be able to steal money from their state so all of these you know all of these accounts and a dentist and photo media people that we create personalities images we create for so even if i pass right now have have grabber keel over right now they go on and they go on they go on and if nobody actually goes in and make the really concerted efforts remove those identities from this digital world they just exist forever yes they do exist forever and facebook of course has this program where they ask you for your date of birth the month in the day and then they send out a message to all of your friends to wish you in this case you have passed you don't have to do that i mean you don't have to give up that information i don't nobody the people who wanna know if my birthday they know is my birthday the rest them rest of you out i don't care i don't want you to know my birthday they don't have you don't have to give up that information no you don't have to do it to feel the tension they get lots of electricity birthday cards well social media is just the tip of the iceberg really your name is in over one hundred sixty locations and when i started my research there were two questions number one how many places is my name secondly how do i get rid of it and can i get rid of it and the answer three and a half years ago was that legislation did not exist to allow an executor to treat a digital asset same way they treated tangible asset sound like it does now absolutely two years ago senator peter worth introduced a bill in the legislature that would allow produce sheri's access to digital assets the same way they had tangible assets and this law took over three years to be put in place because the people who held my records like facebook like amazon like lincoln like google didn't want to give up my name what value is it to them advertising dollars and so there's like automated clicks or something that's right and advertisers pay for how widely they're advertising we'll go out so the more people that remain on those accounts the better it is however what they're holding is very valuable for instance the photographs those digital assets and when a person signed up to facebook google they always said agree to the terms and conditions and nobody read them they just said i agree and what those terms and conditions said was anything you put on our count belongs to us and you have given up the right to own it or access it or take it back but with the legislation that went into effect january twenty eight teen it forced the holders of that information action to give it back to the fiduciary on behalf of the estate that's only if we pass that's right can you help us regain ownership of all that information those images while we're still you know walking the earth yes you can all right and it's just a matter of using our software to systematically contact the custodian and say we have the right to demand that information back and you must listen to us that was the major point the custodians didn't want to give it up well now through legislation they have to do it in one click systematically sounds like a lot of work it is a lot of work because first of all the way your name is represented in different agencies slightly different my name is betsy aaron berg sometimes betsy l ehrenberg sometimes it's just spits the ehrenberg spelled incorrectly remember you know the the identities we create for exactly and get married like really messed up right exactly and what happens is we also have multiple email addresses and we do that for different reasons we have some forbear banks we have some for social i have one with my business from my work i had another business maybe ten years ago the glass alliance new mexico and that had that so my name is all over the place and our software systematically locates where a person has an email address it also locates other even working on this awhile you have a new software you have new program and people can access it today in fact again formation and it will go live on monday that is correct back with betsy aaron burr you can learn more about it from betsy she's right here in fact on imagine if you wanna call her nascar question i can put headphones on her i don't think she'd mind going to call.

"Me in welcoming to the show Dr Sarah, bell west and Dr Richard love. Both PHD's welcome Dr Sarah, Dr low thank you so much. Dr Courtney were so excited to be here. And thank you so much for letting us talk about our favorite topic, cleaning and disinfection, no problem. It's wonderful to have both of you start to cut you off. I'm I'm naturally. Differential. And so the deferential to you. I want wanna hardy Dr west, and Dr Luke can I call you, Sir, Richard? Yeah. That would be perfect up. No problem Hirfi. Thank you. So we do something on this show called set the scene, and what that means what we do when we set the scene is basically if you could talk a little bit about kind of where you grew up both of you. And if in your childhood, you had any contact at all with pets, and how you developed love for animals, you may have only been introduced as an adult or maybe as a child could you set the scene both before both of you? Yeah. Sure. So for me, we had pets throughout our childhood, and my favorite pet was our dog named maisy. She was a mixed breed that we adopted and rescued from our local animal shelter and Macy lived with our family for fourteen years and was always happy and excited to greet us whenever we walked in the door, even whenever I was in college. She was always the first one would come in. Me. Amazingly. I love that. I absolutely loved that. And how about you, Richard? So I have a slightly different experience of pets in childhood. I'm actually the son of a vet and the group in Hong Kong, but because we lived in a small apartment we never actually own a pet. I think my dad had pets or cats before I was born. But I never experienced growing up when I was about eight or nine we moved to a pretty rural area in England. And my dad would on walks around the neighborhood would find stray mountain sheep that had just sort of wanted through fences or lambs typically, and so we actually ended up keeping lambs in our backyard and raising sheep, so we had I think about five sheep over the course of about six years at different times. So my experience is growing up with sheep in the back garden. Unbelievable son of a vet with sheep as pets. This is absolutely credible. I love it. Listen, I I want to jump right into it. One of the most common questions. I get in the media is can I get? Sick from my dog. And it makes sense. I get why people ask this. Let's try and clear this up one infections can humans get from pets. And what exactly are the risks? Sure. I'll take that one. It's an important question. One all owners need to consider narrow lot of pet owners in the United States forty four million households have dogs and thirty six million households have cats, so yes, while we all love our pets. They can also carry harmful germs which can certain situations. Be transmitted to us. They make us sick the risk of getting an infection. From your pet are generally allow the risk does very amongst the population in generally healthy people who are Asia's between five and sixty five the risk is low. But that level of risk increases in children under five adults over sixty five pregnant women and people were compromised or weakened immune systems amongst these people infections from pets can be serious. So if you have people in your house within these newsgroups, you wanna make sure you're practising good environmental as well as personal. Hygiene is incredible. I like to hear that the risk is low. I mean, particularly if you're helping your pet is healthy, you know, listen the truth is I like that idea. It sounds very optimistic. The fact that the risk is low but infections do occur and it's important to talk about it. So we know how to avoid it. Are there any situations where pets were the source of human infection? Yeah. So I'll give you listen as a couple of examples fairly recently in the last ten years, and one is actually very recent and that was in two thousand seventeen and it concerned about Tyrian cool Campbell it back to journey. So this is a really common bacterium. It's actually the number one cause of foodborne illnesses in humans in the US, the CDC that's the census US census for disease control. That's the US agency responsible for keeping people healthy. They estimate that around three million people each year, get campylobacter infections. So it's really common. So the majority of those don't actually come from specific outbreaks, but in two thousand seventeen the CDC. Actually traced an outbreak that affected about one hundred and ten people in seventeen states and by looking back at the patterns, and who got sick, and who got infected they were able to trace the likely source two puppies from a chain of pet stores, and what was actually really concerning about. This outbreak is the bacterium that was isolated was resistant to most of the common antibiotics used to treat those types of infections. So that's one example, and the second one more interesting this concerns, the bacterium salmonella typhi variance salmonella, very common bacterium again. It's a food blonde bacterium, but in about two thousand nine to two thousand eleven two hundred and forty one people in forty two states became infected with a particular strain of salmonella. This is actually a pretty hard one to crack the people who got sick with between one and seventy six year old and thirty percents of the required hospitalization. But thankfully, there were no deaths associated with those eventually after a long investigation the CDC again, we're able to trace the source of the infection. African dwarf frogs the people have kept as pets. And it's commonly known that these reptiles amphibians can carry infections such as salmonella, and the likely spread was people who either touched and handled these frogs, and then touch the mouse all that frog had been on a service in the house, and maybe they came along lakes wrong didn't clean the surface such that the answer them out. So a pretty significant number of people affected by that bacteria outbreak incredible. I mean, listen one case it's sick puppies with campylobacter weeks a camp, and then the other AM fibia in salmonella, and you know, that name salmonella is pretty notorious, I think one common thread among all of those infections is that. It's so important to you know, wash your hands. I it's it's really important. But I think about campylobacter I think about salmonella, and I say, okay, definitely, even the most casual germophobic heard about these are there any other microbes that may cause illness that we should actually be concerned about besides. Camping and salmonella refu- more of the current humans and maybe spread from pets to humans. So one of those is clustered Eum difficile. That's actually, a a major problem in health care the moment that can cause serious and life threatening infections in humans, especially in the elderly and those who are already sick salmonella. We've talked about also because in poultry and rodents. The other one that you may be familiar with his messily resistant staph aureus or Mercer as it's more commonly knows that can cause skin infections and the last one is one that I think is reasonably common or not so common. More coz, more and cats is talk so plasma Gandhi, and that's actually affects parasite looking colds flu like symptoms. I infection a loss of vision. Okay. Wow. Well, obviously when you hear about any infectious organism that can cause you to go blind. I mean, it should make everyone stand and pay attention. I think the true intersection of human animal bond is okay, we we don't want our pets to make us sick. We don't wanna make our pet sick. But what about from pet to pet? Is there situations that come to mind for you that say what about infectious diseases that can be spread between pets? Yeah. And I think the most common one that. I'm sure you're well aware of many of your listeners appropriate aware of his canine influenza, and this country's just been through a pretty big outbreak of influenza that stuff. In two thousand sixteen in a shelter cats in Indiana, which was then transmitted by some mechanism of dogs and cats interacting eventually jumped into dogs that spread quickly by twenty seventeen in may that have been identified in dogs in over a dozen states and actually most recently in California, Nevada, we've had canine influenza this winter and spring that second almost six hundred fifty dogs about seventy percent of them in California. And when I first found out about it. The next day is scheduled to visit from my pets go and get his influenza shots. What a great idea obviously prevention is always better than cure. And you don't want to wait until your dog ends up with influenza to to start treating each certainly want to protect them with the vaccine, certainly, you're right. We have been covering this canine influenza outbreak, and you know, the challenge with that particular viruses, getting the knowledge out there, and educating the public on the fact that this does spread like wildfire the challenge with all of these microbes that we're talking about. And this is probably the most obvious. Indistinguishable characteristic about them. They're invisible. You can't see them with the naked eye, and that's one of the biggest challenges. So when I think about basically microbes that can make you sick that you can't see I think it's so important to keep items clean and keep the environment. Clean in your mind. Why do pet owners need to keep the environment? Clean. Sure. So as you just mentioned, you know germs are invisible. But whenever I think about where germ can go think about anywhere, a pet or person can go and any surface that we are cuts can touch if you think about it. That's almost anywhere. And whatever we talk about how germs can spread from pets to people what we want. We want to think not only about what they're touching but also their bodily fluids. So whenever is sick. Don't commonly shed a that's making them sick. This could be bacteria or virus. They'll shut that in their body fluids that could be feces urine or vomit feces or puppy poop as we like to call. It is. The most common way that gastrointestinal pathogens are spread. And in some cases that pathogen that is making the dog. Sick might still be shut in dog poop, even after the animal appears healthy these pathogens. Surfaces in the scary part is that they can survive for hours days weeks or even months, for example, is Richard mentioned with Campbell campylobacter that hatha Jin responsible for the Pentland puppies outbreak. It can survive on a moist surface for about four hours. But let's side salmonella which is responsible for these foodborne illnesses that can survive on surfaces for ten days. And there are even studies showing that it can survive on surfaces for up to four years, which is really scary for years and studies have shown that pathogens can be transferred from hearts, assists, which would include your countertops. Your Moore's and saw surfaces such as carpets and bedding to our hands. And then we can then spread them to our nose in our mouth and that can potentially causing infection. And while you think that you touch your face that much. We actually looked into this and studies have shown that people touch their face a lot around one hundred to three hundred times per hour. And I'm thinking about this. I'm actually touching my face. So there's one right there. There's a lot of opportunities for us to transfer infectious. Pathogens from your fans cheer knows your amount. And then from there they can move. Into your lungs and your stomach incontinent faction. It's absolutely incredible. Just how many times that we unconsciously touch her face or eyes or nose our ears? I completely agree with you. I mean, it's something that we all do reflexively. And let's be honest. We are constantly touching our mobile devices and phones, and that can obviously be a source of spreading bacteria as well as as a full night. I think what a lot of parents are wondering is how can reduce the risk of germs spreading to them from there, Pat. I mean, they wanna stay safe to. Yeah. That's a great question. And one of the first thing you can do as an owner is practice good hand hygiene. And and actually, regardless of whether you're a pet owner or not you should always practice. Good hand hygiene. It just helps to keep you healthy. So key to spreading uncle jobs from pets, the people, and soap and water thoroughly washing is the best way if that's not available. You can also use an alcohol based hand sanitizer. These are very common the very widely available, and if you have young children in the house, they should always be supervised by adults washing their. Hands and they release a correct method to wash hands, and you can look this up online. It's pretty easy to find methods and methods. No way, you rubbing your palms. The palm you're rubbing the backs of your palms, your interlacing fingers in rubbing your cleaning with your thumbs you really scrubbing into the palms and should take about fifteen to thirty seconds to thoroughly wash your hands. It's incredible. A lot of people don't realize and this is gonna sound weird. But just how long thirty seconds is. They have this perception that it's a lot shorter of time. So certainly if you could sing half of a song lyric in your head that probably is enough time to pass that thirty seconds when you're thinking about the times in which you should be washing your hands. There are some moments where it's extremely obvious where you're using the restroom, but then there times where it's not so obvious where maybe people need to be a little bit more conscious about it in your opinion. What are some key moments where hand hygiene is absolutely essential? Yes. So if you have just walked to a new fix. A pet waste all the places in the yard. He receive used the bag. Always what's your hands? Is the first thing I do when I walk in the ass before the dog gets a cookie the first thing I do as I go to the sink, and I get my hands a good wash..

"Right. They didn't catch. But that is pretty neat place over there to say, the least anyway, I've forgotten what I wanted to get Katie on here to talk about the our mayoral candidates Twitter poll here to running where do we stand on this thing right now, you know, I'm going to have to spend a few minutes scrolling. But I will find it right now. It's gotta be a lot of scrolling. A lot of scrolling. Stop their game. So I can pin for tweet. So we don't have to do this. But by the end of this segment, I will have the answers for you. Oh, okay. Yeah. We've got mayoral candidates down here. And we're asking you to go to our Twitter site at WFL, a news and vote, and we're all gonna find out how your who your favorite candidate is the election coming up March. Fourth course, you're going to have to have another election after that. Because I'm sure none of the candidates are going to get fifty percent of the vote or if they do they're going to be overwhelming favorites to say the least. But what do you think about? How we're going to have an outdoor game at Raymond James stadium for the lightning. I mean, you've got to put ice down and everything they've done it in a couple of warm weather places. I think I think they did it maybe in the Rose Bowl dab believe California. Did it? Listen, I didn't think they could get the ice Curtis six and park, and they do it every year. Yeah. So the clearly they could clearly can come up with a rink. I guess they can. And I was thinking that the capacity for football games at Raymond James stadium is a little over sixty five thousand and oc- thinking that would be a pretty good crowd. 'cause I'm sure they'd fill it up for a lightning game. Do they would they might even go. Yeah. 'cause they get what eighteen nineteen thousand. Now. That's a full house. Yeah. I I think they'll put sixty five thousand or what they will probably more. Because if you think the rink is so small they'd have to put chairs all the way on the field and up to the rink because the rinks not a hundred. That's what I was wondering will they have chairs out there? So they may hold as many as seventy thousand or something like that. I'd love to go to that game though. Oh, man that'll be incredible. But I do have a Twitter poll results. Oh, we got Twitter poll results on who's going to be the mayor of of Tampa. And what have you got? Okay. So Aaron seated them, which I don't really know how to work that. But Harry Cohen went up against Mike's four as Harry Cohen one sixty seven percent to mikes warez. Ed, tarantula, intoap remorse and are actually fifty fifty. So I'm not sure how we're going to continue with that. I think I'm gonna run in both because I do have to add Greco into the David strass ran against Michael Anthony hazard. David Stras one hundred percent, no votes for my one of your top seeds right there. And then Jane castor against LeVine king. Jane castor, one seventy percent to thirty percent. Yeah. I if I had to bet on this thing, I would bet maybe that it's going to be a runoff between David strategy Jane caster. So now it's time to vote for the next year. We're going to see them out start another round of Twitter poll. So we need everyone to get on him vote. Although I might add Ed tarantula could be in there. Mike suarez. I don't know. It's it's up for grabs undoubtedly, but we'll keep up with it and go to our Twitter site at WFL, a news and get your vote in.
