He is a member of the infamous hip -hop trio Bone Thugs and Harmony, and of course everyone pretty much I would assume you probably know who Bone Thugs and Harmony is. They've been responsible for such hits as Crossroads, First of the Month. I mean, man, you know, if you are a 90s baby, you probably definitely have heard of Bone Thugs and Harmony, Crazy Bone, Busy Bone. I've actually seen them in concerts, so the guys were absolutely amazing on stage. I think I saw him at Chop Suey here in Seattle. But anyway, Crazy Bone is going through a medical emergency. It's not looking good. He is actually fighting for his life. According to sources, he checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital after he was coughing up a lot of blood. So he checks himself into a hospital, and obviously there's some type of bleeding going on with one of the arteries in his lungs, and doctors have been unsuccessful in stopping that bleeding. So they are attempting a second surgery after the first one was unsuccessful. So, they are attempting a second surgery to try to stop the bleeding, and he is on a ventilator. He is having to have assisted breathing, so it does not look good for Crazy Bone. Fifty years of age, just a bad situation. So we are praying for his recovery. I have not heard any updates, except the fact that they are performing a second surgery and the family is being very, very quiet about his medical condition. Obviously, the only ones that really know what's going on with Crazy Bone is probably family members at this point, but we are praying for a speedy recovery. Obviously, I think it's pronounced sarcoidosis, sarcoidosis. I think this is the disease, it's kind of like an inflammatory disease that attacks the lymph nodes, the lungs, the eyes, the brains, pretty much any organ in the body. For some people, they kick it. It's not a problem, but for some people, obviously, like anything, it can be very detrimental to their health. Bernie Mac, famous comedian, he passed away from sarcoidosis. So it's definitely something that can be fatal if not treated properly, if not caught early. We are praying for Crazy Bone, that he makes a speedy recovery. This obviously is very, very bad news. People like LeBron James, other celebrities are reaching out to extend their prayers. Definitely, we are asking that the audience members here on Convo Over Cigars pray for Crazy Bone, that he makes a speedy recovery after this medical emergency. You guys have been locked in to another edition of Convo Over Cigars on a Monday. I'm your host, Derrick Andre Flemming. It's a rainy one in Seattle. Everybody be blessed.

Biden Administration Sues Texas Over Abortion Ban

"Came out of washington late on thursday night. London time with the announcement by the attorney. General of the united states. Merrick garland that the biden administration will be suing the state of texas taking out a federal lawsuit. It all relates to a move by texas which is widely regarded as the most extreme restriction on abortion rights since the landmark nineteen seventy-three ruling known as rovers his weight. He came into effect last week. By decision of the united states supreme court and all of the last week liberals and democrats and abortion rights activists have been debating. What can be done. What can the democrats do. What in particular can the democrat in the white house. Joe biden do well now. We know the first step that the administration is gain to take but earlier. This week i talked to the guardian. Us columnist maurer donnegan who's written extensively about abortion rights in the us. And i began by asking more. Don't again to sketch out the political landscape these last fifty years and the role abortion rights as an issue has played in that charting the nearly fifty years since that landmark decision of roe versus wade. The other major story. Today is the decision of the united states. Supreme court handed down a historic decision about abortion. The court said and so when roe v wade was decided in early nineteen seventy-three. It was actually a pretty uncontroversial decision. It was a seven to two decision. The majority opinion which legalized abortion in all fifty states was written by a justice who had been appointed by republican president who was fairly popular in fact at the time. Abortion rights were popular writ large. That really started to

Texas' Near-Total Abortion Ban Takes Effect

"Cambridge before roe v wade and so i know what it was like when women didn't have this choice we couldn't control our own bodies our own destinies here. We are fifty years later fighting the same battle again. It's incredible to think that we would be going backwards. It's the women of limited means women of color women in rural parts of texas who do not have access. This is just devastating. Big no options whatsoever the texas law virtually banning abortion that went into effect today could have an impact on women far outside that state opponents were banking on the supreme court stepping in and stopping the measure from taking effect. But that didn't happen as political sums it up the court's decision to not act on an emergency petition from texas abortion. Clinics comes as the justices. Prepare to more. Broadly reconsider the right to an abortion. It established almost fifty years ago. Back with us tonight. Eugene robinson pulitzer prize winning columnist for the washington. Post and susan dell persio of veteran political strategist boast are msnbc analysts. Thanks to both of you for being with us susan. Let's start with you. There are a lot of people who fully know that. Republicans at a state level have been attempting things that are either faints or real attempts to to place restrictions on abortion for some years now but this has surprised a lot of the fact that something that feels very much like a total ban on abortion could actually get past the supreme court. Absolutely i ate it. Is it's sending shockwaves especially to a lot of the republicans who may instead like yes. I'm pro-life but you know roe v. wade's the lay the law of the land and they also believed in Exceptions to incest rape which this law does not have this is the harshest law that i think republicans could ever see coming and at this point i think even some republicans are going to have a hard time getting behind it. Even though it's not new the prevalence is unfortunately increasing There were people nowadays with allergies actual allergies than there were fifty years ago hundred years ago and we can talk about some of the reasons why that happens in typically. We're going to treat it or in traditional medicine retreat with identifying the allergen trying to remove it treating the symptoms with antihistamines may nasal. Steroids may be an inhaler for your lungs or trying. Desensitization shots were draws to try to down regulate that response and and what we see often is is for this resignation. That oh i've got allergies is just i got anything i can do about it so like e or i had to take these nasal sprays and the truth is most of the allergy medicine. They're pretty benign but the steroids. The steroids are not and they're often used pretty aggressively. Flo nase and name names the next. His hailed steroids. That may reduce symptoms. But then 'cause osteoporosis. In 'cause you know other immune suppressing issues and now people really suffer from these problems and and the question why are we so overreactive to things. U.S. Ramps up Wild Horse Roundups in Drought-Stricken West

"Throughout this hour we've been following how the rain and wind from hurricane ida is punishing the southeast. But we can't forget that all this is happening. While the west is experiencing severe drought and that drought is not just affecting humans. Wild horses are dying. Due to a lack of water the federal government is trying to save them by rounding them up and adopting them out across the country but as nevada. Public radio's nate heggie reports. It might not be the solution. It appears to be black helicopter. Swoops past a group of wild horses running across western. Utah's high desert. It's mid morning already on. The helicopter is trying to herd them into a corral. Lisa read is watching the action while sitting on a blanket under an umbrella. The helicopter works like a sheepdog. It works the horses from side to side guiding them to the direction that he wants them to go read is with bureau of land management. Right now. her agency is in the middle of a huge emergency campaign to get roughly six thousand. Wild horses like these out of the desert and into private stables or pastures across the country. That's because the drought in the west is so severe this summer. That it's killing horses. People wanna say let mother nature take. Its course but boy. That's the stuff. Nightmares are made of reed remembers reading reports about a small group of wild horses who died from dehydration during the west last severe drought two decades ago. There was one full. That was still alive and It was nursing off of a dead mom. That's heartbreaking wild horses rounded up. Today are faring better not by much at a nearby row. Some of the mayor's look got you can see their ribs and their hipbones and that is definitely a direct impact from the drought unlike other desert critters such as bighorn sheep or mule. Deer the federal government. Can't just let wild horses die off. They're protected under a fifty year old. Federal law it mandates. A set number of healthy horses living on healthy range lands. But lately the beale has argued that there are too many wild horses on those range lands. That's creating unhealthy conditions and the drought is just making things worse so the rounding them up and adopting them

Eating to Prevent Muscle Loss as We Age

"So we teach real food nutrition to middle aged adults and seniors Who want to have better health as they age. And i believe that people generally know that what they eat affects every aspect of their life without question. Your nutrition certainly affects your body and your brain so today we went to discuss. How nutrition affects your muscles. And if you go to the gym you may be told. It's all about the exercise. Well yes exercise definitely helps but you really need nutrition to support what you're doing in the gym We especially need to eat sufficient amounts of protein to build and maintain the muscle. Yeah you know when. I was preparing for this class today or this this radio studio event in the day i found out that ten percent of adults over fifty years of age lose muscle mass and this is called. We're losing muscle mass. It's called sarka opinion. And why is that important. Well it's important because it decreases your life expectancy and your all overall quality of your life and after middle age. We adults lose three percent of our muscle strength every year on average and say that again caroline as really important yeah after middle age adults lose three percent of muscle strength every year on average. And you were telling me before we came in studio today about your experience as a trainer. What what were you saying about that. Well i used to teach fitness. And i've learned from you know. The research is that we are either losing muscle or gaining muscle. Muscle is not static and never stays the same. So while you're sitting there you're either. Losing muscle are gaining muscle. So it's important that if you know the old message if you don't use it you lose it right there's truth yeah so you know as your body ages. It becomes more resistant to those growth signals for your muscles. And that's going to result in the muscle loss. So not only. Is this balanced diet that we're going to be talking a lot about today with adequate protein and calories right yes necessary for maintaining that

"So just as we often say how much has changed for queer people in the last fifty years your bookers reminder that that statement is also true for women and your case being a woman and a professional tennis player wasn't even a career path that existed. So when you were starting out how are you thinking about what was possible for a career in tennis. I played team sports as child. I in a lot of people may or may not know my younger brother. Randy moffett moderates are birth. Name became a major league baseball player. So sports is in our blood. I dad was a good athlete. My mother was good athlete. So susan williams in fifth grade asked me. If i wanted to play tennis and i said what's tennis i thought i would probably wouldn't play because she played the country. Calm and my dad's a firefighter. Aside well this is an my realm of thinking. I've also played on the softball team and she told the coach. She'd taking me out to play tennis and she said oh they give free instruction here on tuesdays applied walker. And it's free coaching. While i go out to have my first session with clyde and at the end of it i knew i wanted to be the number one tessler in the world but then was amateur and i didn't like that because i grew up around pro sports pro met. You're really good at what you did and amateur. Music was a hobby so one of the first things. I wanted to change sport. As far as being a professional sport it were none really no options as a child for girls and today there's still many more options for boys. What really happened though. What really changed my life. My epiphany was when i was twelve. I was just daydream. One day and realize that everybody who played tennis for white shoes and white clothes play with white balls and everybody who played was white. And i asked myself whereas everybody else. Where is everyone else. So that was my moment that i dedicate the rest of my life to fighting for equality for everyone everything i've done. We'll go back to that moment. That epiphany twelve years old.

"We done. Let's say for example. We come up with solution that we could be there in a week. Still when we get there on a week still going to be that that time is going to be passed backing earth. War-drive i think if we do a warp drive and we get there in a week still not going to be a we back here because by the time that we're able to be seen up there or that. We have a telescope to look back into the sun into our solar system. Maybe this autumn the sun is already long gone with the earth and everything else. That's another point to actually. Carl sagan discussed and his His videos is moving to date. I think we see Reverend josh data ellie ellie. You know you're going to be there for. You is going to be what he said week. I forgot what he said a long time. It's going to be. Let's say for example is a week unless you remember what he said based on No they didn't know what was going to happen since they thought that she was going. Vega i think it was gonna take like twenty six light us right well. He's they didn't specify number but he said like everyone will be gone by could be gone by the time you back on the around for example. Let's say twenty-six stick dot number over fifty years would pass. 'cause i mean granted it could be and that's very short. It could be an hour for her. Let's short let's put a number right. Let's just put a number. Let's put maybe an hour for her going in coming back But for people on earth going is twenty. Six coming back is twenty six the time still running the same speed in here. So let's say for example. It's just round up to fifty. Let's say the guy is thirty. He'll be eighty when she comes back. Yeah so yeah..

"Thanks also to. I don't know how to pronounce this. Is it man. Katie did or non catchy. Did i don't know when you're from the us and you wrote a lovely review for village. So thank you to you. Snake plants aka sensor various. All the mr t. of the succulent world chunky funky. An also tough and they are something that i've been wanting to delve into on on the ledge for many a moon and finally this week it's happening. I'm bringing back. Dr colin walker president of the british cactus and succulent society biologist an expert on this genus to talk all things snake plant from propagation and pollination to that taxonomic controversy will cover it. All taxes lumped controversy. I'll just preface that by saying that. I'm still calling sensitive various sense area. Despite the fact they've now been placed into the genus sina following genetic research into their dna as we'll hear from colin. It doesn't have to spoil our fun of this wonderful group of plants which really do make a fabulous addition to anyone's house plant collection so without further. Ado let's get cracking. And here my chat with dr colin walker. Well hi folks are. I'm calling walker. I'm currently president of the british koch succulent society. But my eight year presidency is just about to come to an end. I have been interesting growing and studying succulents for just over fifty years. I'm now retired. So i can spend more of my time looking after them. Them and writing about them. I have a lodge collection and two greenhouses conservatory on a porch. I currently live in scotland just gloss so the dry conditions are a bit challenging to what i was used to embed fiche. We hate talk about sense of areas and this has been a subject that people have been requesting pretty much since they thought of making this podcast. And we're finally talking about them dating a whole episode to them and these of grown his popularity in the last few years. But i wonder whether you could tell us. Start off by telling us a bit about where and how they grow in the wild and what conditions are like. I'm guessing they have to be tough because they're from a place where the not getting much moisture sons. Fear is a genus of about eighty species distributed in africa Also there's a couple in madagascar then going east daycare innova beer and his fall eastern burma. There's a severe burn money. I've only ever encountered severe is in the wild once we were on a safari in the eastern province of south africa. And there. I encountered what i am believed to be some severe hyacinth. Authorities are about five species native south africa and this was growing in. I would say sort of grassland really so it wasn't particularly our invite him to fight the eastern cape province quite moist to be honest So the southern species dunked really occur particularly our violence Going so if you go. North west intern happier gola and then going north east through kenya up into the arabian peninsula of conditions. Get more arid they will grow in very arid environments that where the rainfall is very low. So they occur in quite a range of habitats and they are tough. They'll very tough plant so they can survive. Extreme environments tha very dry but also some of them come from funding moist environments as well so that kind of relates to the way we We growth in cultivation the tough piece. I've seen a division of. I don't know where i read this that they can. I think actually was in a book that i've got in 'electronic former by an american writer could her mind. Stover does not name about a. And i think it was in there that i read that she classifies them into soft leaf and hard leaf forms are reduce different sorts of breakdown. I would call them the the softly ones. I would call them thin. Leave d- rather than softly because to be honest all son severe as tough leaves and they tough because they're full of fibers and They have been used as a source of fiber conditionally. The cool boasting hemp. So the same way the ta- coffee sisal. All a is used a source of sisal because gaul visa very fibrous son severe as have in the past been used as a source of bloodstream fibers so all some severe is have to five per sleeves but the kind of cullman company encountered species tried fussier alter it has a long thin strap lightly. It's not very succulent is quite thin but it's very fibrous so that's run under the spectrum. The wanst tie particularly like at the other end of the spectrum which have very fleshy leaves. There's still quite fibrous but very succulent. So if you go to section through some of these leaves it circular in section or deeply channeled so they all very succulent so that that's kind of like a crude division so the thin said loved ones the very the ferry fleshy much more succulent leaves roles in terms of succulent tendencies assets. That's the really secure to a more interesting and in some respects more challenging to go to grow because they tend to be slower growing and obviously very fibrous does that mean that not much actually eats them in their native homes. I seem i'm thinking. I've got some phrase in my brain. Goes where it comes from. That is elephants chewing gum which possibly indicates the elephants identity. I'm getting that from a half. No evidence for elephants eating son. Severe as i've never read anything about i to be honest. Imagine elephants eating these things because they quite tough and there's not much the thin be drawn up much moisture in them tend to like fleshy plants. They renounced the eating baobab for instance because they are very fleshing so i called too much elephants seats them to be honest in terms of animals eating son severe as i put thought as much danger that in cultivation i find some severe is pest free to be honest i mean my tie and crush lacy a quite prone tim bailey bugs. I mean not competitive succulents They don't seem to attack some severe so in terms of pests and diseases son. Severe is a pretty trouble-free my experience. I don't think i've ever had a pass on any of mine. I can't i can't recall having one. I'm sure there's somebody somewhere with the with the answer. Very with mealybugs interesting. These these plants are often classified as unkillable but often a bit concerned that people suggest putting them into all good in in deep shade which seems counter intuitive to me given where they come from and they all succulent plants. If you actually want your sense of area to really grow and thrive well.

"I don't know you. Wherever through history something clicks something changes dramatically in. It gets whitewash through history. But this is that time like this this time you know it comes round like two hundred and forty something years. Eighteen sixty was it. I don't think you know the nineteen forties where it. I don't think those times were it. I don't think nineteen thirteen. Was it this. However there is a conscience in a remnant right now that is on fire and just like enough is enough man. This is not gonna progress. Pass me and my generation. It's time to take a stand like i. That's the thing is you got it in the thing is. You've got the power with it because look at look at the last year of right if we look at this this what's happened. In terms of the face of tyranny. We've had an entire year. Where most people especially from the libertarian side. Have said peace peace peace and then patient. Even most of america has been patient. And what is done. It's paid off and giving us time and space so that we can have a correction. You know. Texas is open. Georgia's open florida's open places are opening up all over the place right now and we have an opportunity to say okay. What's never ever let this happen again. Yours how no. I think you're absolutely right. You know i was saying on the last episode. That as i'm watching right now as the whole narrative is is collapsing. And really something like now. That audi is kind of it seems being thrown to the wolves like in the same way. That cuomo was the hero and then he was thrown under the bus now. She's getting thrown under the bus. And i go the only thing. I can really compare this to in my life. Are the war in iraq that propaganda just all fell to pieces and the trump russia hoax when that all fell to pieces and those were big. I mean they were huge. Huge stories in the warren rack was a huge thing. Particularly for you know people like it was really big thing Snuff the truth. Is that most of america was fairly removed from the consequences of that war. I mean yes the indirectly. Yes okay the housing bubble was fueled by keeping interest rates. Low and all these things but they don't put that together really But now and there's a lot of americans out there who do have family members who were just died or were never the same when they came back and stuff but that's still only a small percentage. Because you know we all figured out this system where we don't have conscription army. We just have this kind of we just bribe in propagandize group of brave young men to go do the fighting but so that collapsed. And did you know i mean it. Had effects destroyed the republican party. I mean without that collapsing. You don't have. Donald trump take over. The republican party were profound effects. The russia thing collapsing did have some profound effects but this collapsing is different. Because this locked. Americans in their homes. This destroyed tens of millions people's careers their jobs millions of children falling behind like this this this collapsing right now gives us an opportunity that we've never had before in my life to really insert our answers into the conversation like hey look what we did over this last year. This is y as you said. We never do this again. We never do this again. We gave up every ounce of freedom and they were dead wrong and more than being dead wrong. They they knew. They knew that they were wrong. They knew from the entire time that there's probably came out of a lab that it was their research that was that was you know funding or their funding their research. That was doing it. They knew that masking was bullshit. They knew all of they new kids didn't get the virus and now it's coming out more and more. I mean there's no way they didn't. They knew the lockdowns weren't fucking working near the lockdowns weren't working. You know the bigger point is like all right. What was it right and we can answer that for him. This was an economic meltdown. You know this was bubbles bursting inside of bubbles and you know the the idea that okay. We're going to manage this by keeping everybody in place and not letting our tax cattle roam about outside of maybe their own state room country things like that where we can sit there and go guys. It doesn't matter who was the president. It doesn't matter if it was bush or clinton or bush again or it doesn't matter all this shit was fortuitous. We've been saying this for over fifty years as the lp. Now's the time to drag out that fifty year record of being libertarian. And go look. We were saying here. We were saying it here. We were saying here. Were were telling you now. It will continue to get worse than more. Bandaids more crack that you pour into a crackhead the next relapse bigger. It's going to be worse than this one. And so i don't know man. There's some things out there that i'm excited about like some blockchain tech across not only you know things like bitcoin but like social media and all that kind of stuff that i see is kind of a tool for us and this really interesting. Time to sit there and go. Hey guys look look over here. Let's do some education and at same time pointing towards some solutions. Yeah yeah no absolutely and it's like it it's a it's a scary time but it's an exciting time but you're you're right. I mean when you when you see the bubble that they're trying to reinforce this old be beaten down worn down balloon that they're trying and now they have to pump so much air into it. I was reading just earlier today. What is it like that. Twenty two percent of the money. That's being exchanged right now was created in twenty twenty like it's unbelievable. I mean this isn't even like this isn't even comparable to the job that they tried in two thousand eight to reinforce this bubble. This is just all a complete house of cards. At this point that is that has to Come come crashing down so we gotta be kinda ready for this This next Moment and like as you said before you know especially for those of us who got kids we really got no other option than to really. Try our best to to push this whole country in the right direction because this is unsustainable. It's going very bad direction. And i think that's. I don't think anyone disagrees with that. At this point everyone knows this is unsustainable and going in a bad direction every crazy far left crazy right all the way in between they may have different villains and blame it on different people but everyone knows this thing is is falling apart and we. Libertarians are like the only ones really have the answers. Yeah and the thing is you're all these criticisms we'll get. Well what about this. What about this. you're an anarchist or your amid. Arcus how are we going to provide for things. Well what about trash on the side of the road. You're like this all exists in your paradigm. Now what you're doing is pointing out the failures of this government. This murder coal apparatus. That's infected our lives forever. What we don't understand what we haven't tried tried is real liberty in real freedom..

Donald trump Twenty two percent fifty year republican party twenty twenty Texas over fifty years tens of millions people last year Georgia trump millions of children iraq nineteen forties two thousand eight Arcus clinton nineteen thirteen america Eighteen sixty

The founder of one development corp. and they're changing the way property acquisition and real estate redevelopment Model is happening in toronto. I welcome jason. How's it going craig. It's going great. Why don't we start with. What is one development corporation. Yeah so. I formed one development because i saw an opportunity to do things a little bit differently in the in the market the toronto real estate market specifically so our a real estate development startup Our focus is primarily modern contemporary homes in the gt. And so what we do. is we take. these dated. Houses transform them into these uber. Cool homes And i saw a bunch of the aca look book on your site. In back in the seventies look book was a whole different thing but it wasn't bad great like they're nothing i would normally see. Yeah and that's and that's the kicker Not only for that design style of vomit architecture. But it's very desirable. There's a huge demand for these. And yeah you you. You're starting to see some pop up but you don't see them often in knots because you know this style has relatively. It's relatively new in canada You know you a traditionally find you know. Modern homes have been around for over fifty years. You know and so But generally in warmer climates california for example or florida or you know mediterranean etc and that's because You know they have the temperatures there to build those sets of houses and so now we're able to build these sharon candidate because the materials have gotten that much better so you can get really creative in design style. You don't have to use the typical brick and mortar type houses. You can do. A lot of this at prefabricated paneling stucco and so you know. These materials are really well designed now to sustain the weather conditions. Here in canada energy. Conserving windows and doors. Things like that so you can now that they're you know. More readily available that demand for him is very very high and so that's the area of the market that we're trying to tap into so i like to start with who the entrepreneur was growing up. What were you like as a child. Where a handful for your parents were studious. where you into music back. Then a sports socializing. Yeah total troublemaker. Of course Bomb boy at home and then went out with the boys it was it was all held now now. It wasn't so bad. Typical kid You know i was actually a pretty quiet kid Somewhat of an introvert. In the sense that i was a thinker a dreamer if you wanna call it. That always curious You know always with my hands..

"And i'll tell you. I believe that's because i lack holy spirit power. I had an opportunity to sit with with pastor. Billy graham at channel seven one day he was going to be interviewed and i was there to cut spots for my church television spots thirty second spots so we were sitting in the same in the same room and of course i recognized him and i myself and we began to speak one with another. He was a very gracious man. A very kind man. I said to him billy. Why have you not come to washington. Dc to hold a a great rally an evangelistic campaign like you have in other cities he said to me. I've not been able to do that because the churches will not cooperate one with another and the powers of darkness in. This city have simply blocked our way. I was stunned. I was very young. Then but i know it now to be true. I know that washington. Dc cannot be brought forward in the gospel of jesus christ until our men and women in the church who are totally made righteous sanctified and filled with the holy spirit. You'll times used to say save sanctified and filled with the holy ghost there right. That's what it's going to take to break the armor in the spirit realm the whole this great city captive now. I've earned the right to say these things. I have walked the streets of washington in prayer walking. I have spent many many months yet. Years tutoring children in the inner city. I administered on the street. Corner preaching evangelistic sermons in georgetown being chased from one lot to another. I have ministered in the city for over fifty years. And i'm telling you very bluntly and very plainly there is such a strong demonic. Hold over this city and that demonic stronghold extends to america now it has been spread by witchcraft young millennial women particularly are becoming wikens. Which is we are in desperate trouble and now for a year most churches have not met. I have absolutely no comprehension. Pastor could allow his church to be shut down and pretend they're doing church over the internet or zoom. I'm i'm speechless. What the gospel. Jesus christ calls for. I'm astonished that the pastors have not called their people to home meetings with they would go and preach to their people and carefully cultivate their heart for jesus christ but the church in washington and in america is primarily a business enterprise. It is an institution it is a mindset of institutional racism and we are bound in traditions and proper nece. I don't think it matters what the government says about whether we can meet or not meet. Jesus says forsake not the assembling of yourselves together and especially in the latter days. That has not happened. Jesus has bombed us out of our buildings and we're now seeing the cold lukewarm heartedness of the american church on full display. My hat is off to those brave pastors who've said regardless of what anybody says we are going to meet for worship maybe not in the building we may have to meet in the backyard. We may have to meet in our homes but we will meet no. I wanna press further in the eighth chapter acts. The eighth chapter. I'm going to begin to read for you in verse. Fourteen now the apostles in jerusalem having heard that samaria had received the word of god they sent peter and john to them after having come down prayed for them that they may receive the holy spirit for he had not yet come upon any of them but they had only been baptized in the name of jesus. Christ then they were laying their hands upon them and they were receiving the holy ghost. Then i take you to acts nineteen the church at ephesus chapter nineteen begin with verse. One no came to pass while the policy was in corinth. Paul having already gone through the upper regions came to ephesus. And after having found certain disciples he said to them if you receive the holy spirit. After having believed he asked them then they said to him but we never even heard if the holy spirit is given and he said to them into what. Then were you baptized. And they said into. The baptism of john and paul said john. Indeed baptists baptize a baptism of repentance. Saying to the people that they should believe in the one coming after him. This is in. Jesus christ and having heard they were baptized in the name of the lord. Jesus and paul having laid hands on them the holy spirit came upon them and they were speaking with tongues and were prophesying and all the men were about twelve so here. I've given you two very clear. Examples the holy spirit was not given at the same time. Baptism was given. You is a subsequent experience now. Chapter two of acts and while the day of pentecost is being fulfilled. They were all with one accord in the same place and suddenly there came out from heaven and noise as the rushing of a mighty wind and filled the whole house where they were sitting and there appeared to them tongues parting off as fire and sat upon each one of them and they were all filled by the holy spirit and began to speak with tongues of different kind as the scripture as the spirit was given to them to speak out. Now please hear me. I.

"Ghost rolls these invisible narratives that shape and define our engagement and limit where we're willing to look for ideas or limit where we're willing to look for potential contribution for value and when that happens. Unfortunately we start to live with these these narratives about who we are in the world. That simply aren't true. They're based upon other people would want for us based upon how we're actually wired and so i think to some degree even searching the try to uncover what it is. That really drives you what it is. That really animates. your best. Work and provides engagement satisfaction in. Your work is something of a brave track to embark upon. Because you might and this often happens with people that we work with through prove you. You often discover things that you don't want to discover you often learn things about yourself. That aren't convenient. They don't fit into a nice neat narrative and you would like to tell people. Listen there are no bad motivational themes know. There are twenty seven teams that we've uncovered of motivation to live within six families. Sometimes people find out that they're driven by a theme that they don't like or they don't want to be a motivation. Listen there's no there are no good and bad themes it's all about how that theme interacts with animates. Your work animates your relationships. And your experience of the world and so once we begin to frame it up for people and help them understand. Listen there are no combat themes. I think that that really changes people's perspective. But i think being dishonest with yourself not really seeking to understand is not going to get you anywhere except for helping you dig deeper into the right. You're you may already be experiencing. Yeah very true that the whole idea that we kind of we play into what others want from us is just a common thing. So let's break down some of these motivational themes that your book goes into where these themes emerge from. And where do we find. Most people fall into. Yeah so i mentioned earlier. The research that has been going on for over fifty years now That is comprised of over a million achievement stories from people of all walks of life professionals clergy. Basically anybody that you can You know any profession you can think of. Any level of an organization can think of There's a story there From someone use or who fits that description and as we analyzed these achievement stories of these moments when people had accomplished something great in their life and they describe what it is that really animated their best work. I'm really. I really love playing. I love working. And i really rarely look in the rear view mirror. I'm always looking ahead and And i am grateful at this point in my career that i still have lots of stuff going on. That's really still moving in this direction. Rather than you know thinking about you know my discography and things like that. I've actually been forced this year to confront my- discography having created this youtube channel. Where i'm visiting you know. So much of the material. I've played on over the years and telling stories about the other musicians and artists and studios and stuff. And it's probably the most i've ever thought about what i do in my entire life but generally i'm i'm really looking forward to. What what am i doing today. And what am i doing tomorrow is really going to. I'm coming from. That's awesome like you live in the moment and you're very super super humble and data about the accomplishments. I mean you talk talk about them. So he's so minimum. I i don't even know how it'd be probably have a swollen head so kudos to you. The thing is i mean. I recognized that. I've been doing this for over fifty years and and it's been an incredibly great run but really i have still the kind of the same the same kind of childish enthusiasm for it today that i that i had the first time i walked in a studio i find the process of making music and working with other people. Really the most exhilarating sing. I can imagine and so it it. It keeps me incredibly motivated. Eat moving forward because it is the thing that brings me such incredible joy sitting and thinking about records. I've played on and stuff really. I mean it. that's that exists. That's there and you know people come up to me all the time and talk about things like that night nets. It's been a great run. That's all i can say. I'm hopeful that i can eek out. Was i want to serve as many people that we can do that. A check the box gives talk but at some point connor by this a little bit and the best way. I think discipline myself to go through. That process was to listen to all brands. Who were nagging me to say right in the. It was reluctant thing. Is i love you questions. I go a mile to say what he does but it should down right at all that the discipline to really make it so that other people could use it so looking at traditional schooling as far as test assignments due dates roles of desk. What do you believe that the future education goes beyond that paradigm like. How do you think education is going to be in the future opportunities and resources that were not using no ucla. There's a wonderful quote above all that kind of power in the brick rebound booking marshall and. It's it talked about using the tools of our age to their best advantage on the internet. I think about the conversations that you're seeing right now during school canvas closures during pandemic about online learning. We're not doing on armor. Were doing a very well intention crisis intervention with a lot of people who don't know how the networks over fifty years we've had the internet we don't have a national curriculum awareness campaign. You're out all the code. Behind what you and i are using bad enough if you're driving in your car and it breaks down and you can't fix it breaks down. We're nowhere so i think for starters. We need to build awareness about tools. Were using and. I think that i need access needs to be reconsidered. Civic and human. Because you're onboard. You're getting the information whether it's financial trading or research or access to scholarships or even just people in your neighborhood you're in in. You're not giving those things you're out and we've known for a long time in this country and i'm saying this the white guy to a black guy. At least we invite more people and make it a real education right now. Just sound like free. Speech is why. Watch the ted talk. And you're pioneer basically doing some of the stuff that we were doing. I love educators. Who were used the internet for to make him a global classroom structure but quarter the issue. Is that teachers today. Say that using cell phones using the internet is actually going backwards as actually going opposite of what you're talking about. How do you convince somebody like that. That there is a global classroom available to them and their students a really good question just to be better. I'm already heard charger. I care a lot about the thing about. But i think that's true for everyone and i want to be prophetic in my own practice so when i hear that i missed imagining what what i imagine that first of all people were heard they're doing with so many different sources of stress pressure pain that then you imagine there now is the time to sing or solve problems. That absolutely challenge though. This is the best time of near damning social justice issues climate. Change us or heating things up to the point that an institution that has never really listened almost apply almost out a window where things are questionable because everybody away but right now they did so i. What is it about technology that it takes people away in your mar on yet in conversation. Also there have been locked points where we had the new tools and said oh my gosh. There's no way we can use a word processor conscious with your typewriter. "But now i need the fullness of luke eleven i need the pentecost baptism. I'm embarrassed saying that. I've been on this journey for over fifty years as a pastor. And i still have not received the fullness of the baptism of the holy spirit. If i had you would see a great revival moving you would see men and women rushing. We put these videos out in fifty or sixty people will watch them not ten thousand. Why well the devil blesses his videos and they go to thousands a million. We need jesus to bless his word. So i'm crying out to the lord and saying lord bless your word. Will you put your word in my mouth. i'm blind. I need you so with great cries in my house this morning. I've cried out to jesus until almost horse what do you want. You just want jesus to pat you on the head and say there there. I bless you with a blessing of comfort and peace in your heart. And i bless you with with the ability to make a little money so that you can take care of everything. America's in trouble and the church is in trouble. it's been vomited out of its buildings and it doesn't have a backbone enough to stand up and say look we are the people of god and we will gather in his name even if it means gathering in secret and going to homes we will not be silent and we will not stop coming together and pleading jesus mercy for this nation home. My brother we need. Jesus my sister. We need jesus enough of this. Pretend stuff did blind aus begin to pretend that he could see no. He was healed and the power of god began to move in his eyes and he could see. We need god to come in the mighty power of jesus by the holy spirit that we could see. We could stop playing church. God has said enough is enough. I'm done with this. No more polite little effeminate services he wants. Don't say this to put any woman down. But the lord wants strong masculine worshiped in america and at that takes place the beautiful women will come and add their tender touch to it but right now most of the people who who helped the church are women they have a heart for god and i praise god for every one of them i just. I just received a wonderful christmas card. It's beautiful gail thank. You just came this morning. It arrived it was mailed way back in december and many other women are are sacrificing greatly to get this word out because treasure it. They want something real. We need a husky. Strong manly not an effeminate pushover. The we need men who will stand will not pull the punches. Who will speak the truth. We need you to be that way. And if you're a woman you can speak the word just as strongly as any man but you've got to stand up in open your mouth and not be ashamed and call sin by. Its name and say look. We've got to change. What's going on in the american church. We've got to get right with. Jesus we've got to repent my brother. My sister blind bardem as would not shut up until he was healed. I said to the lord this morning lord as long as you said the resources and enable me to be on the radio. I'm going to embarrass myself by constantly. Crying out against the wickedness in the church and in my own life be such. I'm not going to shut up until you come in revival power in america in lift up a standard of teaching across this nation. That is strong. That is mighty in your name that has power power to heal the sick and raise the dead our to restore the sight to the blind power to cause those wicked senator to repent and change his course of action. We have a jesus of culture. That's soft effeminate gentle and kind. Jesus was gentle and kind but it was also a man's man he could rebuke the disciples for turning the children away and he could say let the little children come unto me but he could also sit with nicodemus in say a few are not born from above. You cannot enter the kingdom of god. We need men and women of strength but particularly we need men who will not shut up who will not be arrogant who will not be filled with self and pride. I laugh at these pastors. Who who show up in their pretty little hawaiian shirts and their tight jeans. Not wearing.
