John Zmirak: 'The Left Hires Its Zealots. It Has the Right Idea'

"Wrote another article. This is sort of horrifying. So I'm just going to, I'm just going to let you talk. It's called the left hires its zealots. It has the right idea. And the news hook for this is a very unfortunate one. Whenever I hear the word monkeypox, I feel good, I smile, because it's a funny word. It's a really funny word. Monkeypox, I mean, come on, that is funny. And then when you hear that you can pretty much only catch it by going to public orgies with hundreds of other men, you know, I think I can Dodge that bullet. Somehow I think I'm gonna be able to avoid this one. So when I hear about monkey pikes, I laugh a little bit. Sorry. But the government's taking it very seriously. This is a threat to one of the most sacred institutions in America. That is public orgies with hundreds of anonymous men. Of course. And so the government is actually appointed a monkey pox czar. And he is not a member of the Romanov family, so he's not even a legitimate star. But the monkeypox are is Dimitri Della Scully's who is a Harvard educated doctor who is also into sadistic set of masochistic male sex. He wears leather studs over his naked chest on his belly is a blasphemous tattoo of Jesus. He is posed with his boyfriend wearing a crown of thorns. He posed with a witch, misusing a crucifix on a ouija board, and he runs the point here, at least one of the main points here, this person is doing this publicly. Yes. We're not doing investigations and this person is publicly representing America has been appointed by President Biden and is publicly putting out some stuff that is so vile

Book Burning (MM #3975)

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. Over the weekend, I saw a story about a pastor burning books, and I thought I wonder which southern state it was in, and then it looked and saw Tennessee. I thought for sure, okay, somewhere over on the far right side of the state. When I dug into the story, I found out it was about 5 miles from my house. A pastor from a Nashville suburb decided to have a book burning last week, burning Twilight and Harry Potter books and items of the occult like ouija boards. Why did he do it? Well, the game publicity, of course. Because as we all know, book burning is most associated with things that happened back in the 40s, 50s and 60s. I remember some radio stations back in the day, not burning books, but were crushing compact discs of the Dixie chicks. All for a stunt. This was a stunt too. I don't know what the purpose of the stunt was to raise attention for the church perhaps. I guess we all have the right to burn whatever we want to burn. The number one book in the nation right now, a book that's been banned in schools called mouse. And it's number one on The New York Times Best Seller list because people want it banned. The more you burn, the more you ban, the more people are interested.

"Fake results k. And they go to a house where they get more than they bargained for. So i'm not going to give any spoilers. But that's the premise. And it's a great premise. That i read the premise and was like you know what this sounds like. It's going to be a great film. The trailer looked awesome. And i thought it'd be well acted it's looked like it had a good cast some very established actors in there and put it on. I our solid really quite good and then it fell apart. And i mean fell apart to the point where it was clearly just looking to fill time at one point there was like a four minute scene of this woman just walking through the woods from behind now that could have been done atmospherically or whatever but it wasn't. It was clearly just to fill time in this film. The first part was brilliant. The second was dire and tell me what you think about it. Or if you've seen it and you wanna give me your opinion by all means do for me. Malevolent is two thumbs down in this review. Like i said last week when reviewed the book deliverance. By reverend james bragg. That was great. Two thumbs up this to thomas down so for me. Don't what's the film malevolence. I watched it so you don't have to uh okay. Let's get right into our true list. Nagoya stories on our first one today is from orissa. she writes. Hello kevin. hello marissa. I recently discovered your podcasts. And i've been thoroughly enjoying them. Why thank you melissa. I have great spooky story that i've been sharing with family and friends for the past thirty four years. This is something that happened to me. When i was eighteen years old. i will share the story. Here thank humorous. please do. This is marissa's story. My name is marissa anne. i live in connecticut. I am now fifty three years old but in january of eighty seven when the story takes place i was an eighteen year old college freshman at salve regina college a small catholic liberal arts college in newport rhode island. I'd gone home on weekend in late january and came back to campus on a sunday night to hear of all sorts of craziness that i missed. My friend said they'd gone to carry mansion on saturday night and played with a ouija board in the attic. There were very animated in had stories to tell me. I thought they were crazy. I was a good catholic girl and thought that using the ouija board was sacrilegious. Let me stop and tell you a bit about the college. Campus you may have heard about. Newport rhode island it's beautiful little city with a strong pre revolutionary war history but it's most known for its mansions millionaires from up and down the eastern seaboard of the us including familiar names such as astor and vanderbilt built suma cottages in newport these gilded mansions were built along the border with beautiful views and wonderful breezes they were mansions not cottages but in fact were only used in the summit the cream of society summit in newport and when the gilded age came to an end these cottages were deemed to lodging costly to maintain one by one. They were donated to the newport. Historical society who now owned operates many of the most impressive mansions which people are able to tour one of these mansions is seaview terrace which was also called carry mansion. It's currently a privately-owned mansion which is now the largest privately owned some cottage. It was built in the french. Renaissance revival chatto esque style and was completed in nineteen twenty five. It was the last of the great soma cottages and the fifth largest of all the newport mansions the nineteen sixties television show. Dark shadows used its exterior as the fictional mansion for the show since that show was about vampires. You can imagine the creepy factor. The story of this particular mansion is that was built on dupont circle in washington. Dc however in nineteen twenty. Three the only begun dissembling the mansion and relocated it to newport to a site where an eighteen eighty five elizabethan revival manner already stood. This old building was incorporated into the design. These people had so much money to ban. They literally patches rooms intact from a chateau in france. Installed them in dc then moved into newport twenty years later. It's thought to be the largest building ever moved in this manner. It remained in the family until nineteen forty nine. And it was used as an officer's quarters during world war two and in one thousand nine hundred fifty it became an exclusive all girls soma boarding skill. It remained a day school in summer boarding school until it was purchased in nineteen seventy four by maung kerry and he began. Leasing it to salve regina college. The main house and gatehouse will lead to salivate uses dormitories as well as the former stables. They it carry mansion and it was leased solvay until two thousand and nine and is now a private residence for the carry family so back in ninety seven carry. Manchin was used as a boys dormitory. Salvi regina was once an all girls college in it recently turned co ed. The radio at that time was probably five girls to each boy. See you can imagine. Carrie was the place to find the bullies all of them. The mansion was ornate inside and very chewed looking on the outside had huge fireplaces and grand staircase very gothic looking. The boys rooms were enormous pitches. Something out of harry potter. I forgot how many boys were in one room but there were several beds in each. There was an irish priest named father. Mead who lived upstairs. I'm with sort of a resident director for kerry. He had a thick brogan piercing blue eyes and was well respected by the boys. I always felt uneasy that at eighteen years old. I was yet realized that. I can be kind of sensitive to haunted places that would come later but at eighteen all i knew was that i felt cold and uneasy and i was even afraid to go to the lavatory alone. I would always make someone accompaniment. The attic of carry mansion was big and long. They called it the bowling alley now. I'd never been up. There were all kinds of college. Urban legends about the attic the story of a non who had supposedly committed suicide in one of the rooms and that it was closed for good or some such nonsense. Totally unsubstantiated stoff the night. The girls went to carry the ouija board. They said that they did it in the attic. And that they had bonding from the inside of one of the border of rooms. I thought they were a bit nutty but did not really believe anything. Because i probably thought they would just drunken silly. The next weekend arrives and it was a chilly saturday night. One of the girls have the idea to go and hang out at the carey mansion. The guys and play the ouija board again. I wanted nothing to do with either idea but they shamed me into it so i did not want to be known as a chicken plus i was the only one with a car on campus and it was far too coal to walk. I was not happy when we got there. There was no one around attends out. All of the boys were at a hockey game but my friends were determined to have a good time so we went upstairs to what was called a study room pitcher a large room with. I believe three large wooden long tables and chairs. That is all that was in. The room was used for quiet. Study and it had these huge windows. You can imagine the kind thick glass original to the mansion in iron frames. The kind of decorative windows that were heavy never opened. It was decided that two girls would sit on top of the table with the ouija board on their laps on the rest of us would sit around in the chairs unused cigarette lighters for light. So now you can pick to the scene a dark room and a gothic mansion. The eight of us three on either side of the table and to on top of the table my best friend. Becky was one of the gals but the plan. Chet was still good friends to this day and to this day she cannot explain what happened. We started off by asking if there was a spirit presence. I'm we receive the response of. Yes then we asked if it was good or bad it said bad and then we asked its name and its spelled out sebastian. Now that seems very straightforward. But i must tell you. It took ages over an hour to get that much information out of the board. I kept looking at the girls in did not look like they were pushing the plan chats but it was all so silly and we were getting tired and uncomfortable on those hard wooden chairs on the board. Then they asked sebastian to show a sign nothing happened. They asked twice still nothing when they ask for assigned a third time. I saw caustically stated. Oh yeah. I'm sure the windows are going to fly open and ask. Those words left my mouth to pains of the huge. Heavy leaded windows flew open like they were made of paper and then pandemonium and shoot. I was seated closest to the door. And i left out of my seat as i opened the door. I was tackled from behind by a stampede of gals and ended up on the floor in the hallway with a very large girl named cheval on top of me. I got the wind knocked out of me and was so scared. I could not move. I had the gals running down the hallway. And the next thing i heard was father meets voice. He looked at me shoveled on the ground. He helped me open. Asked me what was wrong. At this point. I was sobbing in fright. Then he turned and looked into the studio room so the windows wide open and he began yelling. What happened who did this. How on earth did these windows open through tears. I told him he shook his head and he told me not to lie. I told him i wasn't lying. He replied it was impossible for the old windows to fly open. I told him. I saw it with mike. Who is i told him about the ouija board about the baht. Spirit about sebastian. He did not believe me. He kept asking who opened them. How many boys weather then names whether they go on and on he flat-out did not believe that they flew open up their own accord. In fact i watched him tried to close them and he was unable to. That's how heavy they were. He finally let me go. And i returned to my call to find my friends who just abandoned me. We were all quiet still trying to process what happened. I was stunned. As i drove back to the dormitory we talked about it into the wee hours. The other girls in the dorm realized we were serious. This was not a joke. I replayed it over and over in my head. I actually did not sleep for days. We had no explanation for what happened. All i know is that won- i never step fulton carry mentioned again and to. I'll never ever told you we'd you bought again. I'm often us to tell the story of parties to my nieces and nephews my friends kids. I even told it to my gal scouts one night when we were camping and they all believe me because they know i would never lie about something like that and i think i scared them all sufficiently enough to never ever torch one of those boards and every time i go to newport i look at those windows and i get a chill and everytime ahead. A name sebastian. I remember i remember the disbelief of the priests face and the sheets era of eight girls da saturday night a couple of years ago ghost nation a ghost hunters show on the travel channel. Here in the us. They did an investigation that i got the creeps watching and seeing those rooms again of course they deemed haunted. I wish i could have told them. To ask for sebastian. I've had a couple of strange things happen to me over the years. Some things that cannot be explained. But i have to say that this experience scared me and stayed with me all of these years. I hope you enjoyed my story while marissa. That's amazing what tale you know what. I don't know what it is about ouija board stories every time i see them. I'm excited. You writes in and says i got a you bought story. I think is right. Because i'm going to read it and not sleep for a few days but i always think maybe i'm going to get numb to the main going to read and golf course. Yeah salt and flew away. You've got schedule run out. But never i'm always terrified when read them and we we talked about in the old version of the show but ouija boards and about da motor effect and things like that and the idea that maybe it is a paranormal entity. That's doing it but via you. So yes you're pushing eh. but maybe you're doing it subconsciously under the control of a spirit. Maybe maybe it is all just doing subconsciously. A collective unconscious sort of thing. I don't know but they will remain forever fascinating so thank you very much and you do say or mercer. Even you do say that you've also got other experiences. Their so by all means write them up as well because that was a great story. And if you order anything like that they don't have to contain a ouija board. Of course then send them in. And if y'all a home listening to this saying i've gotta ouija about story. Then don't leave. Kevin kevin giving don't lead kevin hanging senate in contact at talk about ghost dot com and i will of course read it out because that's how the show works. Brilliant story melissa. Thank you so much and let's have another this next. Experience comes in from our listener. Helen hello helen and she writes. Hi kevin hi becca heart. I'm the neighbor's cat. Love the show have been meaning to send an email for awhile now. Yes you can say my name. If this is read out once again i should have read. The i do apologize. Forgive the preamble here. But as a bit of background i come from a lineage of psychically gifted family on my mother's side icon to accept a tele difference between one of those things and actual attention seeking from spirits. You know things like southern cold spot in a warm room atop on the shoulder someone sitting on my bed at night my son herring his name being called out when it's not me. I tend to text if i wanted attention and so on. But that's not the reason for this email. I want to share with you. An experienced the happened very recently to me and my unbeliever of the paranormal husband in brackets. He's been spooked about this event and doesn't like to talk about it much..

"Two. That's probably the drunk est. I ever seen coding. I was. I was trash talking me. A meat is not. That doesn't impress me as the type of drink one with in arizona you know it seems like it's a very heavy Sweet beverage. she'd be drinking bud light game day. Bud light yeah. I should and it was obviously a really really bad idea. Because look attorney family. They owned a ranch near there in earnest. The father was in the ranches corral when he was shot his life teen year old daughter. Mattie shot him in the back with a shotgun he was taken off hospital in that that will come out throughout this investigation. Yeah yeah and that's the big thing where he died several weeks later now. Mattie initially claimed that this was an accident and she was saying that she was aiming the gun at a skunk when she tripped and accidentally discharged the repin and shot her dad so the investigation happens. When you try to species. Skunks like just leave him alone. They riot and sweet and ages want to cuddle. And don't mess with them. The the just want to cuddle ho censor super cuddling rulers cats mother Operated a wildlife rehab. Oh that makes more sense young. And so she lived with skunks. We were just talking about this. On the on the freaks. Zoom call last night. Her mother was rehabbing geese in the bathroom and didn't want cats disturbed the geese so she made cat in the yard. That is amazing. Wow we also the skunks come into play. And apparently she shouldn't have shot the skunk class. Shoot skunk yeah well after the investigation. They realized that her story didn't quite line up in. The shot was actually taken just a few feet behind the dad. So she's three feet behind the dad. You know shooting at skunks so needless to say she was questioned and during the questioning she had been. She admitted to shooting her father on purpose and explained that a ouija board had coerced her into shooting the dad so that her mother dorothea could marry a handsome cowboy. and that's all from the huiji. Yes according to matti and her younger brother. Dorothea the mother again had often consulted a we g board after she discovered petroglyphs on a cliff face. And i don't know how you saw petroglyphs on cave walls. And that led her to a ouija board but she somehow believed by combining petroglyphs and that she did this right that it would lead her to a buried treasure and she became so obsessed with this that she forced ernest her husband to use explosives on rocks in the area in order to find these hidden riches. Here noah's this was this in the superstition mountains because the lost dutchman's mine. I did not. That's actually true. And i should do some more research and be more knowledgeable about myself. 'cause i'm like a reminds me of the winchester house like how she hired to keep building stuff. Oh yeah that's right that's right it makes more sense than a dog telling you right. Yeah so so anyway on this. It's just so weird. That a mattie during her written statement said that she and her mother were using the ouija board often and they used it together this one day when the board suddenly commanded her to kill her father and matty said yet and in her testimony mattie wrote it was dark in the room and there were only shadows from flickering land. Mother asked the we g board. Shall we kill father and the and the pointer move to. Yes in a leading question right. yeah and especially. If you're doing luigi board like in a room that's not completely level. Slide over to yes i. Yeah and you know. There's no way that the mother had anything to do with this data at all so the pointer moved to yes and then told her to quote shoot daddy after. He milks the cows right. But get that done. I want to be milton no cab deficiency make sure that he does all the work to to solve agency so mother asked then so this mother she asked the ouija board who should do the killing. And of course the pointer spells out maddie's name of cars and matty said mother said that i must not reviews to follow the command of the ouija or i would suffer terribly. Yep that's not yeah. This is not in the handbook. And it gets worse stupider on the mom and osler after telling mattie to kill the father then the ouija board also made a promise. It told matty that she wouldn't be caught or arrested for the murder. Southern easy enough so you know again. This has nothing to do with mom. This is all the board so she agrees and she does it so matty then you know she. She was promised that she would never be caught her arrested. And of course the ouija board was wrong. She was bull. She pled guilty and was sentenced to six years in the arizona. State school for girls. And how old was she when this happened with fifteen fifteen. Yeah like like. that's unfair. Your story should have been going to jail and in this gets even worse because at first dorothea was convicted for her role in the death and she was sentenced to ten to twenty years in prison and i found that she served two years before her conviction was overturned. She was granted a second trial. At which point she was found not guilty That's bullshit wild. Yeah so so. That must have been an interesting defense. You're accused of killing your husband to marry a handsome cowboy. Yes your honor. But have you seen him in japs asked. This man is not guilty. Yeah i don't know i need to do. I don't know how the fuck this mom was suddenly found not guilty because once yeah and that is the story of the turney family is a. That's amazing cody of never heard that store. Yeah it's arizona. I feel like so often. That's just said with a shrug arizona. There's on a texas or florida..

"Pendulum has started to have. Its own talking board. People are selling you know. Oh here's the pendulum. Which always just did yes. No maybe depending on where the basic like am i. Pregnant yes and or whatever and now they're actually people are selling pendulums and they're also selling spirit like the spirit board to go with it but it's called a pendulum board which is supposed to make it better or moreover but to me it's still now what's your will now. You're a pendulum has become a plan chat. Like it's just wild. How people will just make things. Okay just for the almighty dollar. Like just to make a bah colleague and and these are people who are actually on honesty and like a book either their actual bring anywhere yet. No it's not in a will it might fade off but you you mark my words like a decade or so. It will come back full force. They'll be a home the generation. That's like playing with the ouija board which is just wild. I feel like it's almost like the board knows. People are catching onto me. Let me disappear like for a while and then catch a whole new generation who is going to open up more doorways and not really know what they're doing. I mean that's my personal feeling about it. I can't speak for. And i know a lot of people trust the ouija board. They believe in the ouija board I personally do not. And that's just for my own experiences. I mean i've heard that there's no way to get rid of a ouija board. I tested that theory. I had a ouija board. Wasn't my ouija board. 'cause i never bought one of my own but my ex husband had a ouija board from his childhood and when we moved into the new apartment When we moved in together he was like. Oh i brought my ouija board. And i was like at that thing the fuck out of the house like and he started to believe like what i was saying. Because that's the thing with the ouija board..

"City was like nope not gonna show this movie so yeah and then i would. I was reading all sorts of things lake in the sixties and they were using the ouija board. Police departments were using the ouija board to like solve murders and There yeah there was one case where actually a couple of cases where the ouija board was blamed for people killing other people so like one of the stories that i read was the girl had gone to court and her you know her case was the ouija board told me to kill my mother and not to get rid of her body for fifteen days but this is what the ouija board told her to do and so she did it by like and then people think. Oh we're talking to grandma. And grandpa are and elvis presley are are. You is always going gonna tell you to kill your mother then like leave her body there for fifteen days if you actually. You know the people that are listening. If you actually do some research there is a lot not a lot of information on the board itself and how has created a lot of those kinds of stories whereas appearances the board told them to do things and they didn't and it was bad like bad things. So i mean nothing i read was the ouija board told me to start. Go to the soup kitchen and start hoping bureau like you know so. Yeah i mean but at the end of the day people want to believe in something and you know the ouija board gives them allows them to express that belief in an afterlife in okay way to like. It's okay play with the ouija board. Contact the dead but yet at the same time you know which is and spiritualist playing with. The tarot cards is the devils cards. You know so but the ouija boards. Okay Yeah you can play what we john saturday night but go to church the next day. It's all good like so. It's very interesting. All the regards What was interesting to me. is that once. The exorcist came out a lot of like churches. were banning dare Basically churchgoers from using d do ouija board on and it was like devils game like it was created by devil like you said Manina that was one particular. Charge that the Article mentioned that day. Basically put the usage of ouija board among the ten commandments. So if you're using do each board. You're breaking i ten commandments. The switch like like never doesn't really say like you know rule one. Don't play the ouija board because that's something devil again. I understand because he was made to be scary shit so but i don't think it was originally. It was not made to be scary. It was made to contact the dead. Which i mean i feel as a medium myself i feel i. Yeah i feel like contacting. The dead is always a gamble. You never know who. You're contacting what you're contacting. I don't know if you've noticed recently like like i've seen on like esi..

"Bought game up until that point and Then i read in nineteen seventy. 'cause it's weird. The ouija board like has these cycles and throughout like the decades and it was like big and then it would fall off and then big and fall off and in the nineteen seventies. It was this blew my mind. It was actually advertised and marketed as quote unquote both a myth. A mystical oracle and family entertainment and the advertisements. And like the sears catalog and know the newspapers was like you know a nineteen fifties family. Mom dad kids the dog all hanging out at the coffee table on friday night playing the ouija board. It it's wild. And then. I think i had read that like What ended up happening. And why so much. Fear got attached to the ouija board and this is when people really started to think that it was dangerous to play with was The exorcist movie When ray 'cause the movie starts off with reagan the little girl and her basement and she's conversing with the demon which ends up taking her body through the ouija board and that's really when the ouija board started to like scare people away. Yeah it's bad reputation because from what we can tell it's. The usage of the ouija board is still persistent. And i think after that the next boom was now like with gen z. Like yeah after two thousand ten two thousand fifteen. We're seeing this trend of digi board being very popular just ouija board into youtube. And there's going to be a million different videos by creators just playing with the board doing crazy shit with debord. Going to graveyards haunted houses. So it's having another boom right now but yeah nine hundred seventy three decades kinda yeah came through it Doubt i was when people started to fear it but apparently the experts is Had it's gonna fame even before he died like i think two or three years before a book was written I think under the same title. If i'm not mistaken. I can't remember who d- creator walls. But he was explaining that he was heavily influenced by the oil board and that he was Obsessed with where boards for ten days specifically and that during that time weird things would be happening like. I think he said whenever phone would ring it would fall off It's like position..

Spiritualism: A Ouiga Board Story

"Life was not easy in the early twentieth century. And we're talking. Like lack of dishwashers vacuum cleaners. I'm talking about death in. nineteen hundred. Left span is forty nine years old. Thanks to things like childbirth war disease. You name it. So when a religious movement called spiritualism promises people away to contact the dead many of them leap at the chance they miss their loved ones and if mind readers fortune tellers and mystics can help dole that pain. They're all for it. One of these devotees is a middle aged woman from saint louis named emily. Hutchings spiritualism is more of an interest or hobby for emily by day. She's a writer and she's also close friends with a housewife named pearl courant. The two of them often spend their evenings in pearls parlor doing all the normal things women do in the night like gaza or talk about an article. Emily's working on while their husbands play cards in the next room. Then in the fall of nineteen twelve pearls father dies. Pearl is devastated by this and as a spiritualist. Emily decides to introduce a new activity to their evenings. A ouija board. You've probably seen a ouija board most likely some kind whore context. They've become a huge part of pop culture. Thanks to movies like the exorcist. Nowadays most people won't go near them but in nineteen twelve ouija. Boards weren't seen as dangerous. They were one of spiritualism is most popular tools. They look a lot like your average board game. They're flat rectangular board with letters and numbers printed across it and the words yes and no written onto corners. It also comes with a smooth flat piece of wood called a plan chat which is placed on top of the board participants. Sit around the board each with a finger on the plan chat and they wait for spirits to move it spelling out messages. So emily brings this board to pearl's house and pearls like listen okay. I'm willing to try it. Why not anything to talk to my dad again for months the two of them play with the ouija board and for months pearl remains unimpressed. The plan chet does move beneath their fingers. But it only seems to spell out gibberish. Nothing worth writing down pearl calls it silly chatter that is until the night of nineteen thirteen when emily and pearl perch the ouija board between their knees and put their fingers on the plan chat.

But when i kept getting this answer after five or six i gave up his. It's consistently the same answer i was. I was just gonna say that. That sounds to me. Like it's about sums up the scientific opinion about the ouija board because again it's consistent throughout the same thing that it's this. I pronounce it differently to idiot. Motor habet i suppose it just depends where you come from. But it's like it's motor reaction. It's your physical reaction manipulate matter where you you can't help but wonder like when you when people do play with the ouija board and there's no shortage of stories online and read at threads of and buzzfeed's about people talking about these scary experience that bodes. I'm obviously i think they're they're looking to. You're playing with the 'cause you're looking for a bit of a thrill looking for a bit of a bit of a fright but then sometimes the message is received through the ouija board. Kinda goes so far as to terrify them and they they. They weren't kind of trying to do that to themselves. Like they became more than just scared. They were terrified of it. You've got to wonder like what the fuck is up with. That person psychology then some deep rooted shit going on inside your subconscious. If you're managing to scare yourself. That much i think so. A Ouija board mystery

"Welcome to kiss myths and mysteries. Heiner host kit chrome in my month-long search our investigation into different forms of nation. I touched on the wage board last friday. And almost as a cautionary tale and immediately received some emails. Asking me to back that up. So i put it to my team of urban legend writers to come up with some information. That was something. I can validate with police. A names and numbers and read over this podcast so here. It is in the small seaside town of dungeness bay. The bodies of seventy five year old eric ward and his seventy two year old wife. Mildred were found on the beach without a mark on either body. The clothes were soaked with seawater. The autopsy report indicated. The water was found in their lungs. The bodies were discovered by a jogger who tracks were the only ones found on the beach when the police arrived locals testified that the couple were often seen walking the beach. at twilight. The couple's adult son clayton ward. Came up from california that after three weeks of intense investigation no suspects were revealed and clayton had to get back to his job as a technology specialist for the silicon valley giant apple but his parting comment to the dungeon is bay. Police was that when he returned he'd be able to identify the murder of his parents in eighteen. He assured police that if followed would lead them to the murderer of his parents. Seven days later after following the various clues. The police brought in steve hawks. The grounds keeper employed by the wards who under intense interrogation confessed to the drowning of the couple. He claimed that eric had kept a large amount of cash in a safe that he planned on taking. He was however unable to explain how he was going to get into the safe. When asked by the police where he got the clues clayton more replied that he belonged to a small group that used the ouija board to solve crimes and that when his father was contacted his father's spirit told him steve had knocked him unconscious and then dragged him into the waves thinking they would be washed out to sea where they would drown but he was unaware that it was low. Tide and they'd be washed up on the beach with the changing tide. He further toll clayton that. If the police went to steve's house they would find the bloody tire iron news to knock him unconscious. "I tried to hold my breath to be as quiet as possible but what happened. Next was the worst part my door suddenly slams shut and i couldn't help it out a sweet but now i was completely under my covers shaking crying and wanting to scream. All the windows in the house were closed so there was no drift. I just knew something was going to happen but nothing happens. I sat under my covers for hours thinking somebody or something was in the room with me when the sun started to rise. I finally snuck a peek out of my covers. My room was just as empty as before. I somehow found the courage to leave my bedroom in search for any signs of a break-in everything looks normal. Though no broken windows were unlocked. Doors then spotted the ouija board on the table again. I have always been kind of superstitious. So immediately linked happenings to the ouija board. I shut the damn thing in the outside. Trish cannon bread it out front to the curb since then. Nothing has happened. And i didn't tell anybody about it. You wouldn't understand unless you were in that kind of situation. Then you would agree that nobody would believe a word you say. Nobody really knows except for the people that read my story online. I know for a fact that those events were linked to the ouija board. I can tell you from personal experience. That trying we she board is a huge mistake. It was the summer of twenty thirteen. My friend had vintage ouija board that was allegedly worth a decent amount of money. My friend agreed to trade it with me for a video game that i never played so i happily made the trade. I tried using the loan but he proved to be just a skin. I didn't really expect it to work. I mainly got it just for the money to be made off of it. I threw the stupid thing on the floor of my living room and forgot about it. Everything was going normal until the next morning. I woke up and found that the two plants had sitting on my coffee table had been knocked over and the ouija board was sitting on the table. I didn't remember putting it there. Nor did i understand how the plants could have. Fallen over. wind was definitely not an answer. I wondered if those possible that i had sleep walks. Or maybe i was half awake and walked down to get a glass of water and bumped into them or something. I moved everything back in place but the carpet already had dirt stains on it. I brought the ouija board box up to my room and tossed it on the floor. Things got bad that night while laying a week in the dark. I was disturbed by the sound of muffled click. I looked up not sure what it was. I saw through the cracks of my closet door that my closet light was on. I had no idea how it could have turned on. But i got up and opened the closet door anyway. There was nobody in there but that hadn't even crossed my mind. I turn the light off and jumps back into bed. Probably ten minutes later. I heard the same clicking sound naturally i looked to the closet and felt my heart single little the closet light was on again a mix of confusion and fear started building up inside of me at once again turned off the light. Incautiously got back in my bed. I found myself waiting for the closet. Light to click on again but what happened. Instead was much worse instead of the closet lay turning on the whole room suddenly filled with light. As i heard the main lights which flick on i had seen enough and was out the door within seconds i quickly pieced things together and chuck to that old ouija board in the closest dumpster. Nothing weird ever happened after.

"Ever since i can remember we've always had one of those old vintage. Parker brother rishi board sitting in her closet collecting dust. When i was a kid. I always wondered what it was from the box. It seems like a horrible board game until one day i found out what a ouija board really is and immediately dug it out of the closet. I insisted on my brother trying it out with me and eventually got him to play along. We put our hands on the plan. Chat and i began asking the typical cliche questions. Like is there anybody there and can you answer me other than my brother. Jokingly moving the plant at around to imitate an answer from some kind of entity there was no real response after getting bored. We put the game back in the box. I did a little research night to find out how to make ouija boards work. Many people said online that the most ideal environment when using a ouija board is in a dark room only lit by candles. So when my parents weren't home. I managed together like six or seven candles and convince my brother to try it one. More time. I lit the candles at said them around the table in the dining room with all the lights out. We tried one more time. I asked again if there was anybody there. The plan chat began to move. I told my brother to stop moving it. He swore he wasn't. I told him to move his hand away and he did. It kept moving. My brother thought i was messing with him. But i didn't pay attention. The plant chet landed on the word. Yes i was only nine. So i was legitimately myself. My older brother had to take over. He asked the question. Are you a good spirit. There was a five second pause before my brother's hand moved along with the plan. Shut to the word you know. We both looked at each other. And at this point. I ran to my room and shut the door behind me. But he continued on with the so-called gain. I heard his muffled voice. Come from down in the dining room when all of a sudden i heard him screaming at the top of his lungs. I ran back downstairs to see what was wrong. He was holding up his shirt revealing a small open wounds. That almost looks like a claw mark. He told me to set the fireplace immediately. An i obeyed. He threw the thing in the fireplace and told me to never speak of what happened to anybody. We have never used a ouija board since. I got a call from my cousin who said that he his brother his dad and his best friend were using a wheezy board in their basement prior to starting they took a large porcelain dolls room because it was creepy and placed it in the adjacent room. Face down on a pile of towels. My cousin took a short break because the board was just spouting nonsense and he had to go to the bathroom. His dad and brother and friends started asking the board questions without him. One of the questions was who is in the other room just started spouting random numbers and when my cousin came back into the room. His brother said that it wasn't working that they're going to put it away and he showed in the answer to the last question he asked and he said do. That's my social security number. Then they started to talk whatever started spewing answers out. He told my cousin he would die. In the air force. At this point that tell the entity they're communicating with to prove itself. It then spilled out the word dow and they immediately got a bad feeling. They opened the door to check on the porcelain doll. They'd lead in the other room and when they opened the door the doll was standing up right in front of the door staring at them. Everyone freaked out and ran out of the house. His best friend burned the ouija board. And i think he temporarily went nuts for a few months. My cousin for some reason then joined the air force and his on a base in europe. Now i had some of my friends over one night so we tried out the ouija board found in someone's garbage. It had the board in the glass piece that you hold onto the four of us held onto the peace and ask stupid questions just messing around at all times. One of us were moving around the glass piece just to try and fool the others. When one of my friends went to the bathroom and the other got board it was just me and one of my other friends still holding onto it. I asked the board when i will die and the piece started slowly moving to the letter t. I left looking at my friend. Thinking was him but he just told me that he thought it was me. The peace then moved to the letter. Oh and then an and then back to and then our and then i realized that it was stalling out the word tomorrow. My friend like over it and it stops moving so i was convinced that it was him but he swore left and right. It wasn't him. But here's where it gets horrifying the next day while walking my dog to the preserve my dog's collar suddenly snaps and he was free from the leash. Darted into the road immediately chased after him. Only to hear the horn of non coming car blaring and getting louder adobe as fast as i could out of the way just barely grazing the car with my foot as a pissed but it didn't end there the same day. We'll sitting under the ceiling fan in the kitchen on full blast. I got up to get something out of the fridge and behind me. I heard a loud crashing sound. Does all the glass on the table. Shattered and everything fell onto the floor. The fin had fallen off the ceiling. And i was inches away from being decapitated. I really don't know if. I find it to be incidents that the day after the ouija board said. I would die the next day that i had to near death experiences. All i know is never touching easy board again. I have never really told people about this yet. A huge closet full old board games and one of them happened to be a ouija board. I always wanted to try it out but my family was always home. And i felt weird. Trying it in front of them. There was this one week and then my parents were going to the city and my brother was going on a boy scout camp out so i would have the whole house to myself for weekend. It might have been pathetic. That was more excited to try out the way she board then to party with friends while the house was empty. The weather was terrible. Windy and rainy. But i felt that a rainy night would actually making more ritualistic around midnight. I set up the board in my dining room and dim the lights. I asked a bunch of questions that generated no answers so eventually put the board away and went to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night to hear a creaking noise downstairs by the front door. I i i thought nothing of it but then i heard it again and it was closer this time closer to the stairs. I sat up now at this point. I was getting concerned. Another creaking sound this time from one of the stairs. I was sure somebody was in my house. This was before. Cellphones were mainstream so calling. The police wasn't even an option. The creaking sounds were getting closer until they were right outside my door and then they just stopped. It felt like ours while i weighed there. Clutching my covers waiting for something to happen. Feud strike of lightning moments harley. Lit up my bedroom. And i swore i could see some kind of black limb type objects wrapped around the open door..

"Halloween season where all stuck at home no one's allowed to go trick or treating in some areas. No one's allowed to do a lot of things. A lot of areas now the other day I was sitting at home and I talked about this to go I was wanting to watch my cheesy horror movies and right now I. Think I'm trying to get I'm trying to get caught up on the Har Movies because my wife does not like horror movies. She does not like she's like they scare me and like on our movies today like modern day horror movies aren't like the horror movies like the junk scares that you that you were watching the Halloween the Friday, the thirteenth, which kind of cheesy after a certain point or any old school halloween movies that. Everyone was scared about I was like Oh my God murderer murderers, ones that really really get me and I'll eat them up. I'll eat them up all day long. I'll sit when my covers pulled all the way up through my nose is those paranormal activities if they could just do a whole bunch of those based in different areas and make me feel like they're real man I love that. I, love watching. Watch Houma God who that could happen that technically could happen. That's the way how a horror movies would scare me is technically that would happen Texas chainsaw massacre. Yes. Sure. If you're a bunch of dumb ass kids in the middle of Texas freighter Thirteenth Yeah No one's coming back from the dead, not yet and. Michael Myers escape from a mental institution. Yeah. That that that can happen somewhere. But not here, this company right here anytime they put their name on a movie. You know how you see the opening credit I say the opening credits the distributed by a such and such film bubble Blah broadcasting or whatever. If I ever see this right here on a movie I'm I'm what I'm already sold I'm watching it and it's bloom house productions b. l.. U. M. House productions, and it's got the low kids sitting in the corner and the the spinning rocking chair because they are a little bit more. Now, the concept of the movie could be really really simple. Really really basic but the way they shoot the movie The cinematography in the movie is always awesome. The music really really awesome. The cut scenes are really really good to the stories flow very, very well, and because of my film theater. And you're like I, don't know what Bloom House production is but you've seen them and here's a top list of all the ones that they started in two thousand. Twenty years ago. By a gentleman by the name, of Jason Blum Jason Blum has created divisions like horror movies, international, TV's and stuff but the horror movies are the ones that like the most and just to give you an idea of what kind of movies they put out you've seen them, you're ready. The first original purge is a bloom house production. Insidious Chapter Two is a blue house production dark skies. Let's see what else paranormal activity in two, thousand, fourteen, another purge the Ouija. Not Luigi Weedy G Board unfriendly, which I just watched the other day and if you watch on fronted it's on Netflix right now it's a really unique concept on how they made just your computer screen itself a horror movie. That's all you see is someone's computer screen and like skype calls, and then that's it. You don't there's no outside footage there's no cameras walking around the building there's no dubbed-in video leads it. Is. One hundred percent done on a computer screen and that's really cool I just watched it. The other day was on call him Fred. Scary nuts gary. It's unique. You just wanted to see it unfold. Let's see split. You know the movie with What's his name Shamlan Bloom House produced it get out with Jordan Peele Bloom House produced it Happy Death Day great movie insidious as you can see I'm. Going right down the list and then of course, the two thousand and twenty one that came out called the again that was a blue house production anytime I see a Blue House production they've got one coming out called the magic eight ball where they teamed up with Mattel film or Mattel films, Mattel the toy they're doing the magic eight ball, which is the one where you shake the ball and you. Could see. Oh my God. My Future Bloom House anything Bloom House has if you're looking for a Halloween a scary night of a theater and watching an extreme weird a lot of movies make you think a lot it's very unique how they approach their style. So anyways, that's Blue House

"One hundred percent Ki 100% think that even if they did mess with the Ouija board, but to even fucking knows if that's true. I think that they were just looking for that little like push or something to confirm like off horrible shit that they just wanted to do em, em, I agree and I think that that's the case with a lot of people when they're on things like Ouija boards. It's kind of like manifesting what they already want to hear. Mhm. Yeah, I have to say it's kind of just that I don't know. It's you're reading into maybe some kind of weird. Sign that you know, you put it out there but I also say I was reading something. I was researching the history and I didn't really go into it, but there's something with Ouija boards and Thursday. You know psychiatrists say that they can put you in this like weird thing where you kind of subconsciously bring your desires out. Exactly exactly. Yeah, like you said, I truly do believe May was maybe just confused or maybe having some kind of breakdown or maybe she believed in a bit too much in the Ouija board or are maybe rubber really was, you know, having an affair with someone in town. I don't know but the other two Q, I think they just used it kind of as an excuse to behave badly and hurt the people around them. Yes exactly, which is sad and senseless. Like you said, it's that's the perfect word to describe senseless. Also speaking of Senseless. It's senseless to just fuck with the Ouija board. I think that if you want to mess with the Ouija board, that's totally off. You just make sure you do it respectfully and the right way and don't use it as an excuse for bad behavior. That's what Tequila's for life. I mean, that's yeah, honestly I Ouija board tequila either when I mean at least with tequila, you have more fun. so, how do you close a session Okay, so If you believe that the Ouija board has the power to open some kind of portal whether it's to the spirit realm mm how to another astral plane. Some people believe that it opens a portal to an astral plane or just simply to talk to spirits. If you believed it has the power to close the session you simply tell the spirits you appreciate them for answering your questions and you tell them you have no other questions did them. Goodbye and you move the planchette to the goodbye to close the portal. So no other spirits will come through and disturb you if you're not using a planchette you're using a cup or whatever. You just move it to go by and then after you've closed the session or the portal or whatever you call it you clean up your Like if you lit candles or incense anything that you'd prepped you clean you clean that up and you burn your house in a way you pull a Britney Spears sent burner workout garage down. Maybe that's that's what was going on..

"Yes a no and goodbye among other symbols, depending on the board itself along with the board comes the planchette which is shaped. I would say like a hybrid between a guitar pick and a heart that's a good description. And in the center of the planchette is a circle of negative space and which to see the letters or the words that the planchette lands on. Now I am going to read I went on Hasbro and I'm going to read the directions on how to use a Ouija board from the horse's mouth set the Ouija board either on the players laps or a small table between and reach. And within reach of each of the players additional players are encouraged to look on and take note of the Ouija board responses. So the they say the best thing to do is have faith people on either side and then have spectators to kind of keep track of what the Ouija board is spelling out set the planchette in the center of the Ouija board placed two fingers lightly on the planchette now concentrate players take turns asking questions and all should agree to the above question being asked only asked one question at a time and ask your question slowly and clearly and wait to see what the plan change spells out for you if nothing happens try asking another question allow one to five minutes for an answer to come. So that's a little breakdown of what the Ouija board looks like and what it is how you're supposed to use it. Now. The Ouija board is a version of automatic writing which dates back to the Song Dynasty in ancient China 1100 a d an automatic writing is a process which actually used by a medium or spiritualist and it's basically writing without consciously thinking about what you're writing just basically using your body as an instrument for them or your subconscious or messages from the other side really or from anywhere. So it's basically just and I've seen people do it before we moved just have a pen and a paper and they just write and write and write and it just think the kind of use their body as.

"A Paranormal Investigator has slammed the store poundland for selling Ouija boards as part of its Halloween products. I had to look up the store poundland. It's like the British Virgin of the dollar store. I guess it was a variety store chain founded in nineteen. Ninety selling most items at the single price of one pound now, I think this Paranormal Investigator has greatly overestimated the effect of a Ouija board that was purchased basically at a dollar store don't you know anything you buy at? The dollar store is not going to work. Although I admit I enjoy their Halloween products they're cheap and they're fun. And you know, you could throw them away right afterward. They would just a dollar. I bought a fake Beating Heart and brought it to work the other day because that's the kind of thing that I do and I yeah, I opened the door to one of the rooms and threw it in there and I thought that was hilarious and you know, my co-workers thought it was funny as well. But it's a dollar. It's a dollar. Where is it now? I don't know. I don't care. It was just a

"Perplexed I tried another sequence then another and another each time. I was greeted with the same word. I even tried all the codes that I knew words but to no avail for a whole hour. I tried and I tried begging the board to work again to restore. It's Supernatural properties. Eventually. I got one code to work but not in the way I'd hoped. Upon using the code Old images resurfaced cycling backwards like slides on a projector. And every one of them something was a mess. It was distant at first but as the frame cycle through the images, it came close to the foreground often appeared to be some sort of shadowy figure pitch black and faceless like a black cloak suspended in the shape of a person. Within a few moments things took a turn for the worst. The Darkness thing but the scenery changed from the afterlife to this line. I saw still frames of my family and friends here on Earth the shadowy figure always looming behind them. Play helplessly watched as it creeped up on the engine closer and closer to contact. I was horrified. Before the figure could reach out and touch one of my loved ones the slideshow ceased. For a moment the frame was empty void of the horrors that once danced behind his glass. I was granted a breather. But not for long. After a moment or two one last image filled the frame. It was me sitting in front of the Ouija board just as I was then. I might as well have been staring at a reflection. Standing directly behind me. However was the shadowy think it reached down and touched the back of my neck. I felt it's called fingers slide across my skin. Breaking Free of my initial shock I jumped up and ran for the door. I left my house tired and terrified. I didn't return until the following day. After everything that's happened. I can only guess that I pissed off some Angelic being upstairs by poking around its home. I saw things I never should have been able to see and overstayed my welcome breaking some sort of Divine Law in the process. I've since disposed of the month, but my experience has stayed with me. I'm always looking over my shoulder and constantly checking on my family and friends to make sure they're okay so far so good. No, I'm alive. I can't help but feel I'm closer to death than I've ever be. Yesterday I almost walked into oncoming traffic a passerby had to pull me back this morning. I felt the elevator at my work wobble a bit and I swear it was about a phone. Maybe it's paranoia. Maybe I'm just shaking over what I saw and found. No matter what's going on. I'm going to play it safe from here on out. moral of the story don't fuck around.

"And every night we will see some of the man and it got to the point that I didn't even care anymore. I actually felt safe seeing spirit. One day we decided to Florida and I decided. Let me take my board with me. I couldn't I couldn't not take it one night. I was with my cousin and she never played the board. If seems as if my cousin had this bolt of energy of much like energy and her has that is soon as she moves. She put her hand on the plan. Chat Ulis was able to talk so much faster that we had. We had a hard time keeping up with what he was saying. And one day it was maybe twelve o'clock at night and it's me and my sister and my cousin she got a call while we're playing. She got a call and her boyfriend had fell down the stairs. And when her boyfriend? Those this assault weird. He fell down the stairs. He's in the hospital and I remember as we're playing the game. She asked the board. Was that you and he said yes. That was me and she said why would you do that? And he said because he hit you as she's a human that I didn't even know that I didn't even know. She was getting abused that he said he hits you and she was like why would you? Why would you push down the state? He's in the hospital and behind us. The door. My back was against the door. We're sitting on the floor on India style. My back is behind the door and he kicks the door. I Hear A and we all jolted when I was in that you say yes. That's me I'm upset where now I said. Why would you do that? I can't believe that he actually did the door. Nike. That's what it sounded like. It was very hard and because my back was against it I was so scared and I opened my door. There was nobody there. The Thud woke up my father. That Lewis said your father's coming. And he himself put the by. He swiped goodbye and no more than maybe thirty seconds. My Dad opened the store and I slayed the OUIJA board under my bed. From this point Raquel begin to have mixed feelings about who conversations with Lewis? She was skied end. She Continues Lewis can actually touch things. Now we went from not playing in the board. Now he's following us. He came with us the Florida. He knew what my house looks like. He came with US. Everywhere it was it was. It was really scary. Rachel realized he could manipulate physical objects but she was still obsessed with him and started skipping classes in hostile nearly every day and spent days talking with husband what she called Ouija Board Patties in her high she was the stage about eighteen years old. She was Tajalli obsessed and justified her actions by saying that it was really to prove to himself that this was real but at the same time the it was some fees and his manipulation of for cow and control began to shy she sees of how was in. Louis knows everything snows things. Only on that what. He'll be talking to us here but he can tell me what someone is doing in their house. Wars would be show like jealous. He wouldn't want anybody else to comfortable. He'd say no make I only I can come through only I can sleep with you is that it got to the point where he just that all the time and a lot of people like our boyfriends or people who did stuff to us in school who are bullies or anybody. Who did me you know? We're just route to me throughout the day. Lewis would say he would handle him. He would tell me if anybody did anything to you. I will hurt them and at the time. I thought that was so cool at the time. I thought wow I have a spirit that I mean not like. I can manipulate I can. I can ask him to do favors for me. This this person is willing to protect me. This person is willing to do things for me. This person talks to a normal person. He'll talk to me about people that I spoke for. Hey that person is not good for you. I don't like that person for you. This person is not good for you. I think active that I had put into my mind at this and it wasn't fun anymore because a lot of people who. I didn't want them to get hurt. You know I didn't want things to happen to these guys dating. If they hurt me you not bad things will happen. A lot of bad luck. What happened and I would ask Louis. Are you responsible for that and nonchalantly say yes and that's when I this is not fun anymore because I didn't you know he didn't. He didn't he didn't deserve that. You know there was some people. Just don't WANNA punish on the Sunday. Did ME WRONG BATTLING TO PUNISH EVERY ONE. Lewis. I don't need to do that while Venturelli I stopped playing the game. I stopped playing the OUIJA board. And I'm twenty seven now getting dangerous yet. Say nothing about hindle. Say nothing about him. 'cause we'll hear it don't say nothing bad about me you've got problems with. Please don't have no problem because you don't want to deal with yours. That's how it was rolling. It was very controlling. Definitely I see how how how so into it I was in. I didn't care about the information. Will Louis Anymore. It was more. I'm growing up. You know opened up my mind to the spiritual world and westbound candle and the things that can come from a Ouija board you know. I wish I was in control. I put the candles. I did the sage I could everything I did. I did everything I went online. And looked at the do's and don'ts I did everything while the research you can do on Google but it doesn't matter because it doesn't prepare you for who you're gonNA come in contact with when you actually do it and I thought the canned white handles was protecting me. I got saved. We're GONNA protect me. And maybe they do. Maybe they do protect you but I can put the intention that I was supposed to to Harlem to to protect. Didn't put that white unite around. I didn't do any of that. I just thought at the time you know is subscale white candles and I did it. But I didn't put that intent that meditation and pray and say you know this. Is You know. Say what I wanted. I didn't do that now. Grown and I'm like. Oh my God recounts still has mixed feelings about her relationship with Louis. Account of WHO RECOGNIZES THAT. She was being controlled and impact manipulated by him while policies to season.

What Ghost

"Welcome to kids miss and mystery. Sign your host kit crumbs all this week. We've been talking about and researching psychics clairvoyance paranormal things with crystal balls and Ouija boards. Next week we start Wednesday with interviews with a psychic and clairvoyant and I thought since clairvoyance talk to spirits it only appropriate that today I provide you with a real ghost story. Let me tell you finding a real ghost story. It can be as simple as going to the library or bookstore but the ghost story. I'll read today. Came to me from an individual with what I can only call real life experience as you listen. Keep in mind that I'm reading. Someone else's encounter with the ghost mildly contribution to the tail is traditional editing. I found necessary. Otherwise the words make up. The story are all authors who assured me are all true and because she was simply writing about her encounter. There will be no title to the story. Here we go ellen. Richmond rides about her encounter with the ghost as follows. The room was small behind attached to a store that sold all things. What got the curtains were pulled shut on the only two windows but only partially blocked out the light in the middle of the room was around table and six chairs one was more like thrown or the medium would sit. We were instructed to hold hands. There were no candles know. Incense the room was bare. Except for the table and chairs. We were five childhood friends on the verge of college. We'd lost one. Recently Billy had drowned. We'd pooled our money and sought out Madam Hester. She reminded me of my grandmother and more the face. A thousand lives with no attempt to hide wrinkle. Silver Hair tied back tight. She spoke with smokers voice. We were instructed to remain silent until contact was made at which time each of us could ask one question beginning with me and moving clockwise. She made it clear we were to ask a single simple question. Batum Hester unlike a TV medium didn't chant or roller head from left to right and when she made contact she didn't nod the only indication of contact when she spoke. And it was billy's voice. We all exchange looks of amazement. What is Your Question Ellen? When Billy's voice spoke my name I felt lightheaded but managed to ask. What was your favorite form of transportation? Matama Hester was sitting. Ramrod-straight is fixed on the center of the table. I think I was holding my breath until billy answered my question my bicycle. That was it a two word answer. Jesse was next and ask if billy like math. We all knew that he hated math. This time his answer was a single syllable. No it had been decided by Jesse and his girlfriend Sarah who sat on his right that the three of us should establish that we were really speaking with billy. Nothing in this obituary or at his funeral would have provided information about his love for his bicycle. In eight of math. Sarah had always flirted with bill and I knew who question would make or break. The seance did you kiss me under the old weeping willow tree no can the answer under the Nolan Street Bridge. I leaned forward nodded at Sarah. Whose eyes were like saucers. I heard Tom take a deep breath. Give us a physical sign. As evidenced in connection has truly been made you could have heard a pin drop as we waited for a response than the room was filled with the sound of that. Stupid Bell. Billy. Used to ring when he wrote his bike wanted to get someone's attention. Mickey gave my hand squeeze his would be the last question but it would break Madam. Hesters rule his question would be a single requestion. Definitely not simple. We all miss you. Billy and we'll be leaving the area and the end of summer and would like to see you one last time to say goodbye. I could hear my heartbeat. My Eyes Burn with the request. I'd know billy since I was three. We were best friends. All of us were on a picnic on the riverbank when he decided to go for a swim my last memory of his broad shoulders back and Bright Red Trunks. Z. Waded into the water. His answer came as a shock. Meet me at my grave. Batum Hester raised her gaze from the center of the table. I hope all your questions were answered. She said I would have thought that his answer meet me at my grave would have been followed with at midnight but it was broad daylight. Four o'clock we all piled into the SUV. That Jesse's parents had given him the graduation. The town's only cemetery was located just past industrial district at the south end of town Jesse parked at the front. We climbed out and walked as one pass the older section of the cemetery to the Green Tree Lawn. That made up the newest portion. Billy simple headstone was located next to. The fence separated the older section from the newest when I saw him sitting on his headstone. I look left and right I was alone and realize that I'd kept walking but everyone else had stopped when they sign. I took a couple more steps until I was arm's length away. At that moment I realized my face wet with tears I reached out. I'll miss you but never forget. He raised a hand in extended his index finger. There couldn't have been more than an inch between fingers when billy vanished. An I fainted. That was eight years ago but I remember billy on his gravestone like yesterday. I'm currently er nurse and often work at night shift alone. Of course with the doctor on call. I've never had any other paranormal experiences. But carry a picture of billy many nights. When I'm alone I call out his name. There's never a response but I never feel lonely.

"Ouija boards are you facing a small board to get a toy store when we do villa will terrify you completely into the next world we did sell is a completely functional and outfitted ouija board with planchette that was about four hundred pounds it is about three thousand one sixty square feet whether or not a consumer spirits remains to be seen but weighs nine thousand pounds and tonight our guests are well basically retract the man who created it he is the vice president of the talking board society and also carronade dolmen she's been on the program before she's the director of the talking board Historical Society and a paranormal researcher so I guess the question Rick is if people and Karen mentioned this if people are like disappointed with the board gets taken down and probably move back to New Jersey would you be thinking about getting someone who would organize a tour and that maybe you can set this up elsewhere well they're going to be some events in the very near future they're already in the works but you know what I come from the US school thought you always leave more and more yeah I guess you do have one more but I tell you what just it looks like just to experience it would be amazing you know would be just to see something that remarkable and I was able to actually get a look somebody had taken an overhead a photo of it and what I find remarkable and maybe carry it you can comment on this the the ouija board actually gives us specific instructions on how to use it I think that's amazing when you think about that current yeah Rick have a great sense of humor he played what he called the board rules at the top of the cord and you know you and I spoke about this before quite I don't really believe in the board ruled out and I know Rick if I were tongue in cheek about it but these things you'll find on the internet and a lot of the fears people have about how where and why and what not to do would you support such as if they had never used the board a graveyard don't happen you're going to die don't ask with a very golden so it's it's more of a humor to the board but it's something that that's like a stigma that comes along with the board if you go on social media finding a so called rule I was always thought the rules were there to protect people I mean I was always told never asked the ouija board when you're gonna die because there's always a story that if you ask the ouija board where you're going to die a week later you'll be fine floating in the reversal number that when I was a kid but I was always taught you know you don't ask you when you're going to die I never use it alone never use it in a place where trauma satellite never take it to a place where a you know a group of people were slaughtered and then you do you go and do the weed you were trying to contact the murders I mean those are things I think are common sense would you say well yeah absolutely if anyone regardless so people like to have criteria or parameters around are you this tool which I support I mean if someone who isn't cool you probably want to have some kind of parameters around it if you've been using for a while you have to believe about it that you feel like you're going to be able to make contact as you mentioned earlier collide in your opening statement about this is really the board is nothing negative it negatively come through really check your own inner thoughts and feelings and that's what you're gonna trap to yourself or use the tool so you did good I promise did have some some rules I think for some people but for others believe are considered more just that humorous greeting funny but I you know I I don't think we need to try to control the repossession so much because then it would you really doing is controlling your own ability to do media mystic work if that's what you choose to do it here earlier well yeah and I I agree I I think there's some things I've used the board a couple times during seances accuse the board sometimes on ghost towns to try and you know contact we had a really strange ouija board session that happened at a place that was haunted one time and we even went to great lengths to you know we we went very very over the top with protection and all that and it didn't work we had something happen that went down that day it's because somebody who is in the session we were with was with had been drinking and I have a I have a rule that if you're going to come to a seance or ouija board session you cannot be high thank you that you cannot be drunk if you come in you do those two things you're liable to upset whatever's on the board and this is something we don't want and I just happened to be we did it there was this old theater we went into that was a bar we spent the night there we had a room that was set aside with a very quiet room we did a ouija board session somebody came in a woman who was drunk and apparently we didn't know this but she was pregnant and the ouija board said she was pregnant and to get her out of the room because I had some demon wants to attack her and that demon but I happen to be a demon called OB sued them we had no idea it will be soon was only there was the demon that eight children and she wanted to sell me she said well I'm gonna sue you because you a lot of demand to come to the right side did not I said and besides I think of this is to go to court and I said you were drinking did you and your damaging your child I think this would be a lot different story so it was a very very strange night for sure because what happened as many of the women that were at the seance actually doubled over in pain because they were feeling something in there got to know what it was and they were doubled over in pain when I write I I I panic I read anything I happen to be like this before and but something was in the room and like I said I said other people it would have come into the room anyway you don't need a board to have that come in this type of stuff you open yourself up to it certainly will you you'll you'll get visits and you'll have up all kinds of interesting things happen to you that's absolutely right every part of that story before the only thing I would I think there is a rule I haven't don't need that right I will never use the board then we've been drinking I won't drink either it or not I want to I want to have my vehicle that that'll myself as a channel be clear because they give me doing the work the board does nothing right now absolutely critical at first but after listening I I highly recommend you don't get high or get you know drunk whatever use before it happened you start because it'll kind the issue yeah that's the reason why parties you know you hear all these horror stories from teenagers say reply with a bore my friend up Zastrow get.

"Welcome to kiss Miss Mysteries. I'm your host Ken Crom. I've been investigating the paranormal world and metaphysical world for the past couple of weeks yesterday. I reviewed rain. Clervoy end and me a psychic and owner of Psychic Boutique here in Ashland Oregon and I asked him a question about a Ouija board. Got a really interesting answer so I thought it would only be appropriate to store in today's podcast about of Ouija board in the small seaside town of Dungeon a spay. The bodies of seventy five year old Eric Warden to seventy two year old life billboard were found on the beach without a mark on either body their clothes were so would sea water. An autopsy reported indicated. That water was found in their lungs. The Origins of the Ouija Board

"I've been investigating the paranormal world and metaphysical world for the past couple of weeks yesterday. A True Ghost Story

"Welcome to kids miss and mystery. Sign your host Kit crump.

"Bunder rights dealing. You know when I was a child I used to visit my cousins who lived in the neighboring city. Not for school holidays. The two girls loved scaring me go stories and they always put the Ouija board when I was there for my holidays. Now here's the thing. The girl started moving the planet as soon as they started the Ouija session claiming that they were able to easily connect with spits. The ghosts would apparently spell out names of dead people or people who are going to die next in our family or the names of people who would would be haunted by a nightmare that very night. These things kept me awake and fearful of shadows at night. I would ask my mother to come with me to the outdoor toilet in the house for courage. Those were long nights demon. You're the things little girls. Imagination can cook up is terrifying nine. When I reported this to my father. He told me that new spirits and that the goes would moving the tiny heart shaped piece of board on volleyball's the by themselves. I was on my ninth standard summer break when I decided that I should show some of the bravery. My father had instilled in me and conquer my fear of the spirits and the OUIJA board. This time when my cousins pulled out the board I said to them. You keep your fingers off put. I will operate the planet. The girls reluctantly agreed. I sat down with my finger on the wooden device. While the girls chanted the usual bullshit mantras mantras to invoke the spirits for added effect. They made sure we were surrounded by burning candles ten minutes and nothing happened. I was thinking this was all an elaborate rows. I was ashamed that I had fallen for their tricks for years. And just as I had expressed regret the planet moved. It was horrifying watching the thing. Move on its own volition under my finger finger questions to the spirit from the girls revealed the following bits of information. The ghost was a woman. She had drowned at sea. See she refused to answer other questions and went silent for a while but just as we read about to give up. The planet moved aggressively and spell dealt beach road and then a bulb in the room exploded. We ran out screaming. And if I remember correctly I had a fever for five five days straight. It ruined my vacation. I think my aunt born the Ouija board and their backyard. I forgot about the incident even after a while and I used to scoff at people mentioning similar experiences. I was certain as I aged. That what happened was a form of mass hysteria afford memory even decades later as a married woman. I came face to face with that entity my husband and I were lords at resort in North Carolina to celebrate our fifth anniversary. We had just finished dinner. I stepped out of a beautiful cabin. Destroy out to our private beach. Do enjoy the sight of the moon reflected on the water. I would have been there four. Maybe five minutes studying the coastline admiring the night sky and playing with my hair. When I saw a figure walk out of the water heading. INTUIT's me at first. I thought it was a fellow guest who had come back from a night swim but the finger post all I could see you was. It's silhouette it coughed and spluttered. Water and quoque doubt the following words beach road. It raised its right arm in a jerking motion and pointed to the left of me. H H route. I screened and I ran to. It's my cabin. My husband and some of the other guests emerged from the rooms to see me. Hysterical is terrible and sobbing the resort stuff. Send their security got to inspect the surroundings but there was no one there not a sign of the thing and they wanted me to go to beach road. Needless to say I never bothered visiting beach road or trying to find out what happened to this woman. I'm afraid if I do there will be no end to the Tara that would follow me back home from Beach Road.

How Much Does This Cow Weigh?

"Golden was the kind of person who believes in experts, you know, people who had studied things people who knew stuff he figured they knew things that ordinary people just did not. I mean, of course, they did. Right, obviously elimidate golden goes to a country fair. This is about one hundred years ago in England. And there's this contest going on at the fair guests the way to the ox, Goldens, a scientist and statistician and he figures, hey, I can do an experiment here. Right. He's figures I'm going to take. Everyone's guesses take the average and compare that to the actual weight of the ox. We heard the story from James, sir, Wicky, he's an economics journalist. So he thought what you were gonna end up with was a really flawed guess because in his mind what you were doing was you were taking guesses of few smart people a few mediocre people. And then a lot of morons because he basically everywhere. Everywhere. So he figured the the the group's gas was going to be way way off the Mark the contest organizers gave golden the little slips of paper with everyone's guesses on them. He took them calculated. The average the average was eleven hundred ninety seven pounds and the ox the ox weighed eleven hundred and ninety eight pounds. So that in other words, the crowds judgment was essentially perfect one pound off one pound of this is super creepy. What's going on here? Is there? Some kind of like collective unconscious. Magic is like a ouija board or something. Right. But the idea that underlies this it is everywhere. The idea of the stock market, you know, thousands of random people buying and selling shares like when you hear that apple stock went up or the Dow plunged that's basically people guessing the weight of an ox, it's everywhere. Right. It's it's the price of oil. It's the price of orange juice all kinds of things that are really important to the world work exactly this way. But why should it work? Why should a bunch of random people a lot of whom have no idea what they're doing somehow magically produce an answer. That makes sense does this really work. And if it does why. Hello and welcome to planet money. I'm Jacob Goldstein. And I'm David Kessler inbound today on the show, Mr. golden, we redo your experiment. What's the Cas name, Penelope Penelope? Thanks for letting us. We you better. She's chewing one bound off come on. Support for this podcast and the following message. Come from ZipRecruiter hiring used to be hard multiple job sites. Now that my says has lost all its territory what happens to the people left behind. She chose to take. So that she should starting Syria on raw and what about their children? How it ends a new series on embedded. So we came up with a plan to repeat, Goldens experiment. Find a fair and a cow in a big scale to weigh cow. And then he grit in the grit, and then we were going to throw the question out to the crowd. Ask the world. How much does this cow way? We didn't want to just limit it to people at the fair. So we figured we'd take some pictures post them online and asked the whole world to guest. So we went out to county fair in Burlington county, New Jersey, we met Penelope the cow in the dairy tent. She was sitting on a bunch of. Hey juiston. Kuzmich was taking care of her. Can you just describe what she looks like? Yeah. She's mostly black. She has white legs. And she has a white spot in the middle of her head, but she big black cow. What did you say? So I said holy cow without even realizing saying she's much bigger. She just stood up. She's walking out of the barn now. And she's way bigger than I thought when she was sitting down. We took some pictures of you Jacob standing next to the cow for scale and just for finally decided to ask people at the fair how much they thought Penelope wait as it happen. It was kids days. So there are a lot of kids. Which was fine. You know, non-experts what's your name K? Look how much do you think? Now ways. Six pounds. How'd you come up with that number? 'cause I'm six years old. You guys want to guess how much this Calloway's sixty hundred pounds six thousand. Dear how much you weigh? Not at all. I'm sympathetic looking at L P. I had no idea how much she weighed. Like, I didn't even know how to think about it that way more than my car that you a less than my car. I don't even know how much my car was more than a cow. I wanna say more than a cow. We found an older group of kids and yet they also guest on the low side, but they had this bigger problem. This this really more worrying thing, and it was a problem that adults also seem to have. And it was this the first kid said a number, and then all the other kids said, basically, the same number numbers that were like too close to the I it's like they're incapable of guessing anything different. How old are you? I'm ten how much do you think that cow ways? He'll hundred pounds. My news Gabriella, I'm ten and I think the cow as three hundred pounds. My name is kid nine seven years old, and I think the cow weighs three hundred pounds. People are not that different from cows. We heard if we don't know something we look for a leader. Even if the leader, maybe doesn't know any kanobi finished chewing, and we took her over to be weighed. It's actually pretty unusual to one away cow and the scale they had of the fair was not for. What kind of scale is this? It's actually like a truck scales. What it's for same sauce scale use for big trucks and stuff, which we use it the way the tractors during the tractor pool for the work it'll work for a cow. Yup. Testing bam. You were obsessed paranoid. Arguably paranoid about keeping the result of this secret. You didn't want it to leak out? I guess Gan all of these people had gathered actually, can we can we clear commune seriously clear, everybody out except for just a minimum of people. Like, can we swear you? Okay. Just see everybody else. Everybody else over there. Here's sin walked Penelope up onto the scale. We watched this little digital display. Okay. It's one thousand three hundred and fifty five pounds. One thousand three hundred and fifty five pounds. We walked Penelope back to the dairy tent. And then we went home the next day. We posted photos online of the Cowan you may right. I was there to give some sense of perspective. We put you on the tractor scale. Yes. Hundred and sixty five pounds that much. That's how much I weigh then our colleague courtroom buoy here. Put it all up online guests the weight of this cow, and the ideal was our hope was that lots and lots of people would guess because the fundamental question here. The thing we're trying to figure out is if you have a bunch of random people making their best guests at something. Do you get close to you know, the truth? Do you get close to the right answer? So we put it up, and we waited for the results to come in. All right. It's been up for how long now two minutes comedy entries as fifteen inches reload. Reload. Here we go. Still fifteen still fifteen come on. Oh my God. That's all we're gonna get fifteen. We'll re tweet this.
