As rising oceans threaten NYC, study documents another risk: The city is sinking
"New York City is slowly sinking under the weight of its skyscrapers and other structures built on top of it. I'm Julie Walker, as rising ocean's threat in New York City, a study from the U.S. geological survey documents another risk, the loose soil like artificial fill. Navy contractor jet was on fire before deadly California crash, federal report says
"A federal report is shedding new light on a deadly California jet crash. I Norman hall, federal investigators say a navy contractor's aircraft caught fire before it crashed off the California coast early this month killing three people on board. The twin engine Gates learjet 36 a plunged into the Pacific Ocean near San Clemente island on May 10th while trying to make an emergency landing at a navy airfield there. That's according to a preliminary investigative report for the national transportation safety board. The crew of a second jet saw smoke from the aircraft. The two pilots and an additional crew member all civilians haven't been found in our presumed dead. Fewer Americans apply for jobless benefits, labor market still showing strength
"The labor market is still showing strength. I'm Lisa dwyer. Viewer Americans applied for jobless benefits last week following a previous spike that many analysts took as a sign that higher interest rates were finally calling the labor market. It turns out that the recent jump in jobless benefit applications was largely due to fraudulent applications in Massachusetts, where claims fell this week by more than 14,000. The Labor Department says that the U.S. applications for jobless claims for the weak ending May 6th, fell by 22,000, while news of the fraudulent Massachusetts numbers made the concern of her last week's jump and claim seem overblown, economists still expect a slow uptick in layoffs in the second half of 2023. The fed is hoping to achieve a so called soft landing lowering growth just enough to bring inflation under control without causing a recession, economists are skeptical with many expecting the U.S. to enter a recession later this year. Our House of Representatives and Republican majority should zero that out immediately based on this report alone. Yeah, they likely won't. I'm just being honest. It just seems as if they're afraid. This will be honest. Most House Republicans are afraid of the FBI. They're afraid of the dirt the FBI has on them. They're afraid of the administrative state. They're afraid of the Department of Justice. They live in fear of the fourth branch of government.

The Rise of Ordinal Inscriptions
"Give us a lay of the land on ordinals what's going on this week. So I guess refresher like water ordinal drying or nose is just kind of like an accountant standard of looking at Bitcoin, right? There's been no changes to Bitcoin that relate to this. It's kind of like you're running outside software and you're just looking at the chain a little bit. And the way you look at that is by numbering Bitcoin supply from zero to 21 million. And it's actually the smallest denomination of Bitcoin. So like one sat right to the 8th decimal place. But it's actually one that my math was right, like 2.1 quadrillion, something like that. And the idea is that if you do that, you have an idea of a certain code for each unit, then there's a kind of by nature non thunderbolt. them. And so the whole ordinal staying what people are doing where they were inscribing the sads, they're using some pretty sophisticated methods. And embedding them with different files. And so this started the wave, a lot called inscriptions, on Bitcoin, which have some, I guess, competition with the NFT space on other platforms where you can have like a jpeg attached to essentially a token, which in the sense it is a top sheet. Okay, so that's like the background, right? And then what happened lately is people doing kind of what the old operator and protocol is used to do, where, instead of just having kind of an NFT comment like a persistent jpeg attached to a specific satoshi, they were attaching fungible tokens, you're issuing an asset. Think of like a stablecoin or like a meme corner or something like that. And this was how tether kind of first originated on Bitcoin. And so the standard came out called BRC 20, kind of a nod to the ERC 20 standard on Ethereum that is how assets get issued there. And so let's see, instead of in Betty in like a jpeg file type to a satoshi, they would embed like a JSON, right? Like a certain text. That was structured in the same way each time. So you could basically trace and see these assets, whether it be a mint or a transfer, et cetera. If you're a programmer, it's just a dictionary, right? JSON. And so what's happened is people are basically minting a bunch of assets.

When that happens all of a sudden leonard pays ten million dollars to see us you. If this passes it will force the city of fort collins to buy the property and to negotiate with you using that basic price. What do they got in here. Tenors ten million as a beginning bargaining place between cs and the city of fort collins fort collins has this open space tax but much of that has been used for other things already and maybe even have obligations with. I don't know. Does fort collins have ten million dollars sitting around to to pay to see s you to buy this property for open space there already other open space areas all of the county parks in the area around horse tooth. There is some private land just immediately west and a little bit north of this but it's already built out there isn't going to be any more building going on up there to speak of very very few lots but there's also a couple of other open lands projects there you've got the whole Pinewood reservoir area than the maxwell open space. All this is right there adjacent so the question is is this property that the stadium on something that would normally fit into the priorities that city for collins has for open space or is this just a bunch people out there who don't want anything built there and i understand that nobody wants something built theralac traffic. It'll yeah i'm with yet but what's is gonna do to for cohen's they're going to have to take the money out of the existing open space and or other moneys in the treasury of fort collins..
