"Already. 76. Read scripts Pierre Loya, and if you're crossing the border at Otay Mesa, 82 Kogan years time 8 30 to President Trump and former vice President Biden's first debate, breaking out in what many say was pure chaos. Here's Griff Jenkins. It was chaotic. It was personal. There was cross talk, but somehow the candidates managed to address Most important issues facing the country from the economy to race relations to the Supreme Court in health care, but front center was, of course, the Corona virus with the impact of Cove it on the election. Something on a lot of people's minds. Issue of thie integrity, thie election came up. I think I'm getting in them to look at the balance definitely doesn't get in till the 7th 8th 9th, it still should be counted. He's just afraid of counting the votes here was quite a night and I'm not sure undecided voters are so much more than two kid. It's really attacking each other. But the first one's in the history books. The next debate taking place on Thursday, October 15th. They also argued over the next Supreme Court nominee at the debate, President Trump's latest high court nominee Jamie Cockney, Barrett, will soon have her a Senate hearing. And he says the vote in 2016 gives him the go ahead. We won the election and therefore we have the right to choose her and very few people knowingly would say otherwise. Democratic nominee Joe Biden says that discounts those who are voting right now, tens of thousands of people have already voted. So the thing that should happen is we should wait. We should wait and see what the outcome of this election is. Judge Barrettes hearing is set to begin a week from next Monday, President Trump in 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden squared off as we said last night to make their case to voters and one voter in Pennsylvania, however, says neither candidate really stood out to him. I don't think I can say that either.

"You really nice mobile home park down here in Otay Mesa and had a little backyard with which to work. And so I put in a couple of raised beds from some plywood. I had him about thirty six inches tall. So I don't have to bend over much. But first year, I sold them with just the bags of soil. I got it. The Home Depot and did okay. And had a little garden back there. Don't know much about gardening, really. And so I started a compost pile also. So last year the soil had compactor quite a bit. So I put a bunch of compost on and just nothing grew. Well are produced at all. So I knew something must be wrong with the soil. I think and I was wondering about soil testers or I don't know anything about how to go about figuring out the right kind of soil. For my race beds. Will the reason that good potting soil cost so much money is there's a lot of science behind them and everything has to be just right because you are creating their entire planting medium. This is where they have to do everything. So the compost is great. As an amendment, but as you're planning source, it's not designed for the entire health and growth of the wondering if I had too much in their compost. We've been doing some tests with some different soils at the nursery up in Powell way, and the new strawberry fields potting soil that we've been using it. It's an expensive potting soil. But the results are unbelievable. We just potted up a another test comparing that one to a nother premium, but less expensive potty soil, and so far the the more expensive soil is worth the extra the extra because it's going to bring plans to harvest weeks earlier. So I so if I were going to amend the soil are, you know, like you're talking about the strawberry fields or something? How far how how much how many inches would I have been do that? When I wouldn't have to take out everything that's already in. There would I just. Top ten inches or I don't know. It actually depends on what's below. And what the actual problem is. It could be it may not be your compost. Did you mix any dirt in with this bed? Or is it just potting soil and compost? It's a year. I mix them just start from the yard in there. Because if you get too much dirt from the yard when you dig it up and put it into a planner its structure kind of breaks down, and it could become so dense that water won't move through it, and it it could be the problem. So I would try to lending it all I mixing it all up. Okay. And see if that doesn't help you or if you want put a shovel full in a bucket and bring it up to either of our Walter Anderson nursery locations, and let us take a look at it. And see what what it looks like what it feels like. Water through it fairly quickly on the other. The other thing to remember is when you're preparing when you're preparing the planning beds, adding if you're adding compost to existing soil, you're adding some more if you're adding some more potting soil just to fill in where goes as the soil breaks down the soil levels gonna start to lower as you're at our to fill in. Also, remember, you got to that's the perfect time to add if you're growing vegetables tomato and vegetable food, whether it's grow power, which isn't truly organic. But absolutely fantastic fertilizer that helps build the soil or if you wanna go with one of the organic fertilizers like stone or doctor earth. That's the perfect time to add that in incorporated into the soil. So that is the you planned into it. And the roots move out. They have a source of they have a source of food readily available to them do a need any is there any kids? I can test myself and see what's going on otherwise we'll bring it up. Yeah. Yeah. There is we we sell a small we sell a small kit the test for the basics test for P H tests for nitrogen phosphorus and potash, and it'll give you a little chart that will give you a recommendation of of what you can do to fill in to fill in just those those are the four big things that that you need. Before I plan in spring. I'll definitely brings not doing anything with soil now just because it's lousy results. So I I want to figure it out. I well, then before your before you before you plant bringing us bring a sample of it in. Let's take a look at it. And we can give you some recommendations and show you what we think you should probably add to it before you get it going and one more thing Alan when you when you do compost another material to that. So ensure that you turn it thoroughly and get it all mixed in. So you don't have you know, separate layers of material in there. Okay. All right. Well, thanks for the good of I love your show. Thanks, one more before you go or if you want to if you're listening is now, it'd be a perfect time. You said you're not gonna plant until spring. But I would think about starting to do some amending the soil or or fixing to the soil, and I would get a six pack a lettuce and planet, and if that fails then try something else I would use this time now with leaf lettuces as your test. So that you know that when when spring time comes around it's ready to tell it you're going to be ready to go..
