Evofem To Launch On-Demand Contraceptive
"Today we're GonNa talk about a company that is trying to commercialize a female contraceptive and the company's called Yvo FEM and their product is called sexy and it's going to be launched actually in the next few days. So I wanNA talk about them as the main story, and then we're going to start with some updates from Gilead O'Donnell as well as bio Merrin and actually we got some news from Amarin today that I'm GonNa touch on just very very briefly because I haven't. Totally incorporated it into my portfolio yet, but we did see some dramatic news from them. So with that, let's get going and the first thing I want to talk about is the Gilead, news that we heard and what we found out is that they were issued a complete response letter for the approval of Phil God's Nib, which was their treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. So, this is a bit of a surprise I would say and Phil God was going to be something that replaces revenue streams that are slowly starting to fall off a patent for Gilliat and they're gonNA start to feel that in the form of loss of revenue and forgotten it was kind of shoe into get approved by the FDA issued them this complete response letter saying that they will not approve the drug unless certain conditions are met and usually when companies receive Sierra L. either it's unconditional in the sense that they don't have any recourse or it has conditions on it and hear what we. Found out that the FDA wanted more data from their face, three Manta and Manta Ray studies before completing its reviewed, the NBA and they're specifically concerned about issues in male sex organs. So Gilead is going to have to provide this data, the FDA before they will approve it, and it looks like from what I looked very briefly on the clinical trials dot Gov site is that the primary completion date isn't until early twenty, twenty one where they final completion date of twenty, twenty four. Now Juliette is pre savvy. So I feel like they'll be able to eventually overcome these hurdles once they provide some data. So I. don't see it being long long-term hindrance of the company, but we've seen the stock get hammered pretty hard since the glory days of remedy severe and in general has been kind of slow to adopt new therapies to their pipeline in order to maintain that growth that people expect. So hopefully, with the approval of Fil gone, they'll be able to replace those drugs that are falling off of patent and be able to maintain their value that way. But personally no position for me from Gilead but I thought it was interesting to point this APP. Nasr Company. I WanNa talk about is by Merrin, and they are trading at a fourteen billion dollar market cap now, and they were also issued a complete response letter for Rock Avian and this was their hemophilia, a gene therapy and I've touched on Hemophilia A and. A number of different videos but I haven't touched the topic in a while. I did notice the CRO though and it's interesting because the conditions that the FDA wanted in order to approve the drug was evidence from two years of data for its ongoing phase three trial to support the durability of the gene therapy. So this is obviously kind of rough for the company because the bar is rarely set this high for other companies that two year window of therapy is going to be maintained. This has me questioning the gene therapy space as a whole that you know other companies that have invested in say route Jenex bio if they're going to have to show two years of data to show that it is a Gerbil effect, this obviously plays into the models and delays the time at which it's GonNa take for them to get revenue. So kind of. makes. Me Nervous about the gene therapy space but you know different diseases seem to have different thresholds for what the FDA wants and it's tough to predict. So thought it was worth bringing up and just for those who are actually following by man, their last phase three patient will complete two years of follow up in November twenty, twenty, one, serve you're expecting revenue from this drug. Now you're GonNa have to wait until twenty, twenty two proudly see any revenue. So that's a disappointment even though the drug does help us significant number of patients. All right. Moving on I WANNA touch on otani therapeutics ticker symbol od T, and they're trading now at around five hundred, seventy, four, million dollar market cap for those that don't remember I, touched on this a while ago they were short candidate that I had once I seemed like they had a run up in the stock for no obvious reason, and then I sold it off in anticipation of run up to this event that we just saw news to, and they're commercializing a tax seen that is given orally. So right now has to be given IV in a lot of complications surrounding that a lot of hurdles that patients he'd go through to get this. Treatment and it's Kinda tedious. So if he can come up with an oral version, it would be much better for patients and that's what Oh Donald Trump do here. So what we heard is that their face three contessa trial achieved primary endpoint and what they were looking at is test attacks will their drug plus bean compared to just capital being alone, and the results showed that the progression free survival was significantly better in the tax will plus Kapustin group rather than just cap aside to being alone nine point eight months versus six point nine months with a hazard ratio of zero point seven to just pretty good and value point zero, zero three.

Mexico Bill. Larry Station. Guys We. We have so much to talk about. It's a meeting like the pipe was finally unblocks. Yeah I like. The number of episodes were even like playstation. Games are coming soon. They're coming soon. We're GONNA get into Oliver Reactions the biggest game some of the. Gains in some of the stuff that we didn't see in this place type reveal event I. If you haven't watched it, we'll have some of the bureau going, but please go check out all of these really cold trailers. But I do want to start off of course with the consulate self We were all watching the show together. We were listening. and talking over dischord together, and throughout the whole show we all like. Are they leading up to the console, and they lead up to the council. They showed the design of the PS five. In fact, they should to designs. We have one with the disc drive in it, and then also an all digital edition much like xbox one Saturday. We didn't get prices for this or released, but we did. Get a designed so I want to know everyone. What did you think of this designed Lucy? Let's start with you since I. Know The design has been a big thing for you. Well I mean I as I said on livestream like I've always wanted Sony to go like stupid crazy with this, because like console designs have gotten increasingly conservative over the years, and I've just. I said all along like make this like home is car like just at a whole bunch of we to it? Make it strange like heaven. You know strange shape, and and all that and you know I gotta say they really delivered on this one I mean it is oh, it is a weird looking console. I mean the means already starting as we speak. The names the main factory is generating. It's I love it I have absolutely no idea how it's. GonNa, work, aesthetically might apartment. By afternoon photos of it horizontally I will say there are photos that show you can put it in your. You know which is which is good I, can't I can't think of the district is a little like a little hernia. Mainland China like it's like it's like it's pregnant, but that on the side, so it's like a little hernia on the side Damn. Had On. It would probably look like like the the disc version is off before we went into quarantine. And then there's the other version where we have A. You know we've gained the covert. We have. Got Exactly where my thoughts went to, but yeah Taylor Pooch. You know needs you can work off. You can lose weight in like a week or two. You just gotTa. Just clean eating, no beer for a couple of days. But why would you WANNA do that? The My? Now wants to chow down after snacks. I I'm totally I. This is probably one of the more surprising looking council reveals ever honestly in terms of the first impressions, just in terms of like being something that is so completely nontraditional while immediately screaming video game console at U. obviously a lot of people being incredibly productive, being like it looks like a router I'm old enough to know that this is the same stuff of intend to. We I think. Think, people like they they they get really bored when they just see a big black sideways boxer vertical box but they also don't want it to go to strange in another direction I'm actually all for it. The interesting thing to me is that people have started to lineup using the drive size and the USB size in the front. Exactly how much bigger taller it would be than the series accents obviously sinner. What it is about five to six inches taller with. Is is pretty is pretty sizable I honestly maybe could be four inches, but it's either way it's this. This is a significant size taller than the series x, and it got me looking at my entertainment center, and wondering. Where is GONNA work near to put it sideways. Put it vertical but you know we the second controller I think we kinda hoped that it would aesthetically match the bizarre weirdness of how kind of like weird future future they went with that and the white black color scheme, and they delivered, and I'm all for it. I we're you know we've got to see if there's any other colors that will see for but. I remember when the series came out. People were immediate like Oh. You can put stickers on it. You Skins on it and I. Don't know if I want to do that. This like at all like it feels like putting a bumper sticker on a Bentley. It really feels like just by looking at it that it went through so many different iterations that someone to said okay light lace just like just tear up history books and start afresh in like. Just go not so that like just a as crazy as you want. And then we'll kind of like lower it from there and I really love to see some of those other designs, because it does like we did this on the last show I think Otani use it like it does feel like it could have been a mock-up from a fan.
Sho Time: Angels' Shohei Ohtani Returns to Form
"We're talking about the angels and not Mike Trout Ouden. Gonzales covers baseball for ESPN. He was recently angels. Camp attract the recovery of two way superstar. Shohei Ohtani. Who's a big star might trout or Shohei Ohtani. I think Shohei is a bigger star. You should see just the media presence that follows him everywhere. They're like twenty Japanese reporters in spring training. Who are just like following him around everywhere. Unlike Mike. Trout doesn't have that people are interested like they're fascinated by this guy so you save time. He's back but he played last season. What do you mean when you say Otani is back? Shohei Otani is back to being the fullest version of himself. Couple years ago came early from Japan in his early twenties and he showed that a player can thrive the highest levels of the sport by being a very competent hitter. Sil- a lights out pitcher GONNA MISS DOT goes down nasty splitter straight down swing that last year spent the two thousand nine hundred nine season rehabbing from Tommy John Surgery while hitting in the lineup. Now starting around May of this season. We're going to see that two way sensation again. I don't think baseball has been excited about a player. A longtime. Why is there so much excitement around Shohei right now because we literally haven't seen this in a hundred years because it's new because maybe it gives us hope that we're gonNA continue to see this? From other athletes in the future. He was just scratching the surface of just how good he can be. And now we get a chance to see it for an entire year. That's incredibly exciting. Well we will get eventually just not at the start of the season right. Yeah so the angels are going to be very conservative with Shohei Ohtani. He had the Tommy John Surgery in October of two thousand eighteen. He had knee surgery in September of Twenty nineteen throughout April. He's GonNa serve as a designated hitter and because of the new rule that allows for two way players. He can go rehab on a minor league assignment as a pitcher in the meantime so he's going to be able to hit in their lineup. As a designated hitter you're probably bat cleanup or bat third behind Mike Trout. I'm going to say maybe four to five times a week and then at some point around the middle of May he's GonNa be a starting pitcher for them to the grand experiment will be back on basically. Yes this experiment. The wrong word. No I think experiment is still the right word because in so many ways the angels are sort of setting the blueprint for how something like this done. They have nothing else to go on except for maybe what he did in Japan which is completely different league. They don't travel across time zones in Japan. They don't play as many games. In Japan. Angels are doing this by themselves. He's going to start once a week. Not once every five games he is not going to hit either the day before he starts or the day after his starts and he's definitely not going to be in the line up on the day of his start so you're looking at twenty starts in the season maybe one hundred games in the lineup. Still a good amount but definitely going the conservative route there. Let's back up to win. Shohei I came to baseball two years ago. What were the expectations like for him? And why was he so special? Will those a lot of wonder about a guy attempting to do this? There was a lot of doubt definitely but a lot of the people scouted him in Japan. Came Away raving about this guy. His batting practices are the stuff of legend. He's incredibly fast. He might be just as fast as Mike Trout. And that's one thing that people don't talk about on the pitching side. The Guy Those one hundred miles an hour he throws a split finger. That's like one of the nastiest pitches that you'll ever see so you have a guy coming over here with that kind of talent and the fascinating thing about Shohei is. He shows up to spring training in two thousand eighteen. And he's awful. He can't get anybody out. Pitching seven runs in the inning. So not the day that. Otani was hoping for today here facing the rocky. Looks like a mess in the batter's box completely off balance chasing pitches. Here's the next delivery and that is a big swing and miss thereby and within like four to five weeks of him attempting to do this. You have scouts saying that he's not going to be able to hit in the major leagues. You have people saying that. He needs to start the season in the minors. You have people saying that the angels should completely scrap their plans of having him be a two way player and just let him try to develop as a pitcher. Because it's too hard to do it at this level and then all of a sudden the season starts and it's like a light switch goes off. Here's the next pitch and he lets well hidden and the right center.
UK government hints BBC licence fee could be scrapped
"Not say. The government continued US ongoing scrutiny of the BBC and in particular folks on the licence-fee today. Nicky Morgan the head of the Department for Culture Media and Sports and as the government was going to conduct an eight week review into the license. Fees should be decriminalized and nicky. Morgan said that there were legitimate concerns. That criminalization was unfair and disproportionate. Now Katy Hey. This is already been one review into decriminalization under David Cameron. which found that? The licence-fee shouldn't be people shouldn't be realized for not paying it at a different prince. This time I think this number. Ten is quite determined to decriminalized the licence-fee Nicky Morgan Speech Day is in particularly I'm surprising. In the census things that have been reported on nervous speculation. It was heading this way when it comes to this eight week consultation period. I can't see that much rush from it. Which is going to persuade them? Otherwise I think we'll be interesting. As do they come to an agreement where they perhaps suits some type of financial rage age with BBC to make up for anyone. WHO's they're not paying the licence fee? Who is it? Move a swift car on that angle. So I think we're heading to situation where the license licence-fee decriminalized questions does that mean. If you didn't have a license fee and you refuse to pay it that your credit rating will no longer be affected. I think this details like that that we will have to find out how it pans out but I think the general sense is determined to decriminalize. I think that if you look at her other comments I think one of the top news lines to come from the speech was TV. License could be abolishment. Twenty twenty seven and this is not just about decriminalization. What is the future of the BBC? Now there is a healthy majority Tory government. And I think that you could hear from what Nicky Morgan was saying in terms of she warned that if the BBC was not Catholic Catholic. Could end up being blockbusters the if people remember on this podcast the video hire shop that critical outpaced by everything else. And eventually Ashley had to shut down as I think that it poses some interesting questions. For How do we supposed to compete. In the years Tacoma and if it it should be I think there is a sense that this government so i. I think there's a sense that this government doesn't believe that the BBC is best place trying to cater to every audience. And I might try and limit some of its remit to things that do seem to be more in the general interests Sir of information on the public roll and I suppose some of the things of as might cool frivolous programs in James are a lot of people are GonNa see this as a very direct attack on the BBC. Be Safe from the government. Decent us a fair characterization. Should I say any giggling about future velocity is no matter just arrived at the table table with a food that public helping the D. A. Calorie Count for most of nearly twenty eight days varies we. Aubrey is not long enough for several months. In this podcast this is a Scottish delicacy. This is a Dalgety Bun is basically a reason is delicious lucious I have not seen one lazily. Slovenian seems to be Made Available Twenty K.. So on the BBC. See I think the question right now is the point that is made by people who do opinion research. Ease one things you can see the net flicks Wchs Amazon Prime subscriptions or these things have changed seep think about the BBC lessons week because they now have something that they pay for entertainment but they can compare it to so people are assessing wherever it is value or not. I mean there's another problem for the BBC which is the BBC have feel that they have a particular ticket problem with the undefeated that mythic grew. Because they don't they don't sit Donna Watch. TV in the wave at POPs can pause generations did onto the BBC alternative going very hauled to tronc reach this audience and also as ways but that is creating new tensions because it means A. They'll getting into people feel that the BBC is beginning to trample commercial providers in areas like focus on also it is it is taking the BBC the BBC was living the way to reach. The students is to do stuff that people don't see the public service Madison so he has Varghese on this morning saying that you know. Let's let's look at the you know the BBC Red Store BBC news on the weekend was about Kim Kardashian. Roy Is that rookie. BBC Nava pulled Cottam reality TV again. Is that public service broadcasting and so I think the BBC face com series of strategic choices. They need to make Ivan. If one was only only thing the BBC now they have to strong stone calls to play one is the union is on the massive random the BBC's undoubtedly one of institutions are going to underpin the kind of cultural aspects of union and the thing that that is the thing that makes them feel more protective of the BBC. And the second thing is the creative industries are great. British expert for BBC became a vehicle for that that would make it fit in with on a broader kind of idea of of a post brexit Britain. I mean James You mentioned strategy before and Katie. Think to be this sort of battle that the the Government has against the BBC kind of on multiple fronts as well. I think Gordon came slightly unstuck today when he was asked whether it was gonNA continue. Its boycott after today program. Do you think as it sort of ramps talks on the BBC. The boycott will have to end. I don't think the boycott will have to end that. This government even the people making that point. I taking this government views them as things that Patinkin particularly linked up. And I say that is not. The government is refusing to send administers on any BBC. Show is a specific show. Now you can criticize that and say Otani. They should be as people made the point in this week. Giving them having terrorist incident. You should be sending people up on these things but I think that the way this number ten tends to work on media is they will do enough usually elite to send a minister onto a similar show or show in the same realm pabst little bit chide the producers on the show they don't like but was it to make the point completely hiding scrutiny. So you can see it in the sense. I thought it was interesting this week for example and this isn't the BBC Pref- had brochand going on the world at John runs deep regret. I think that this week you have good morning Britain the program so it's not just the BBC issue. I think that's probably worth pointing out but give Briseno. We're not getting any ministers on that program doesn't ongoing spat there but this morning got particular talent. So I think that you probably have to separate the two your coaches and I think they all still sending people into shows clearly annoys some people but I think from the number ten perspective they are linked because one of the things about the BBC's it doesn't Operate in the way you would expect it to so it is not a single model. All individual programs fight their corner and they approved very adept at the abortions is team play off against each other. Join the election campaign portions. Andrew Maule no Andrew Neil in the BBC and so. You can't do that one if you don't do that. One at the beginning of this year didn't give a traditional custom race into each day program or to a drama but he did an interview with BBC Breakfast which then led the BBC bulletins because they were news lines in it so in a way because it partly because of the way she's from the BBC Conseil when you call on this year you can't Ernie bit of the BBC unless you do what you want to say the BBC will always be ways to go round particular programs. I mean not is going to challenge the Ucla Whiter how to respond to.
Patriots-Chiefs rematch headlines Week 14
"Week fourteen. Let's get at it chiefs patriots last time they met the AFC championship game last year. This was a classic Ulis. Forget how good it was this offsides sides or the chiefs. We've patriots took it in overtime. This time ball. Tom Brady was on the Patriots injury. Report this week and look at that. How you want to? Patriots went with kicker for the entire week. Look at that. How you want? Savvy walking's is calling it a must win for Casey Casey. WHO's two games up in their division? Jackie doc you'll start with you. Who needs more? How will this game be decided? I actually believe it or not the Patriots to win more just because of all the talk around. Tom Brady and the offense with the playoffs. Just a few weeks away. The defense I never worry about people are talking about Otani. Kills too fast for them. Phil Bell Check. Does it better than anyone. They takes away your best offensive threat so tiring kill will be doubled all night. It's all about the Patriots. Can they score against the twenty fifth ranked and then think they will be able got in this game. AH I. It's hard to bet against the Patriots at home especially when there's snow on the ground and the weather is so neither team needs to win this game.

Stocks end choppy session mixed, but log strong August gains
"Stocks ended mixed Friday as trade concerns. Weighed on investors late in the week. The Dow Jones industrials fell twenty two points on Friday to twenty five thousand nine sixty four. The NASDAQ composite gained twenty one in the s&p five hundred rose, a fraction, all the major indexes rose for the week and for the month led by the NASDAQ which rose two percent for the weekend. Five point, seven percent during August joining us to discuss the week just gone by is a Connie Otani who's the markets reporter for the Wall Street Journal. Connie, we had trade matters which took some starch out of the markets. There was no deal on Friday between the US and Canada to revise NAFTA, but it was a strong week for the markets with a few indexes setting records. That's right. The SNP the NASDAQ, the Russell, two thousand dow-jones transportation average. They all set records in the month of August and the NASDAQ. Actually closed out with its best August since two thousand. So it was a really terrific month for US stocks and and tech stocks in particular. I was gonna say tech stocks have been the market leaders pretty much for the past month, haven't they? Yeah. And it's really remarkable because they've already had such a strong run this year. I mean, by far tech stocks remained the biggest gainers and the s. and p. five hundred. But e- even when you look at that and take that into context, I mean, it still was crazy month. Apple ended up rising twenty percent in August, which is kind of insane. And Amazon is approaching the one trillion dollar Mark falling closely in Apple's footsteps. So the tech rally is still very much alive. I'm kind of at a loss as to the reason why. I mean, I know these huge companies, but you know, they have been under some pressure from external forces. Definitely. And we've already seen a number of pullbacks throughout the year. Investors were spooked by news in the spring about Facebook and its handling of user data that kind of sparked broader concern. About the tech industry and whether these big companies might get hit by tighter regulations, and then we have some not so good earnings and sort of forecasts from a couple of the tech companies like Netflix and Facebook as well. But then if you sort of look past all that where we are today, tack still remains by far the biggest gainer in the s. and p. five hundred and a lot of investors have difficult time staying out of these names just because they have done so well, they are so dominant in the industries that they're disrupting and it's kind of hard to to find a different part of the market that is offering this kind of growth right now we've continued to have strong earnings and I guess it's hard to argue with gross domestic product growth of four point, two percent during the second quarter. Yeah, that's another thing that has helped investors. I think look past some of the trade drama that we've been seeing throughout the last couple of weeks. In addition to the GDP data that we got. We also saw that consumer spending and still very much on strong footing a number of the retailer's earnings. Throughout August were very impressive. So all that has helped keep. I think investors more optimistic in the US especially during a time when emerging markets for instance, have have suffered through a lot of volatility. I'm wondering, is it just emerging markets that are struggling at this point it or is it also the rest of the developed world? It seems like the US is definitely the place to be. Yeah, it's a hard to argue with that. I mean, when you look at relative performance in Europe and Japan, a lot of these indexes are still behind the US for the year, and it's not even necessarily that their economies are doing so much worse than the US. We've actually seen some momentum picking up in Europe, for instance, after a streak of pretty weak data throughout the summer. But I think there are still a lot of concerns, sort of idiosyncratic concerns throughout the world in Europe. People mentioned that there are still bit nervous about Brexit and and how those negotiations will unfold. And in comparison we're not seeing as much of that in the US yet. So I think. That's helping keeping people optimistic here.
