"Said he listened. We were the one take osmond's meaning they would nail every time when they're on the andy williams goes back in the day. We earned that title. I'm not just gonna hand it to you on a silver platter. The osmond boys know you're gonna have to show me that you want once you do. Then i'll try and start opening some doors for you. But i was taught at a young age that you work for what you want in life and don't be afraid to sweat. We worked every morning. We're up at six. Am in front of the mirror performing working on our choreography and our harmonies after school. And you know sometimes are french and knock on the door. Hey can you play. We gotta rehearse you know so. We showed our father. We wanted it. We work for and what it is to have a father who's been there that was watch out for us. Teach the ropes. And i just found that. You don't wait for your ship to to come in you. Swim out to meet it and so i'm grateful for the work ethic that my father gave me in anything worth doing is worth doing right off right and often or not at all so i have passion for what i do and and people that are listening this. I got to tell you this. I i have worked so many normal jobs. I have worked. I've sold women's shoes. I played the piano at nordstrom. I've been sales. I've been a seminar guy. I love speaking and all that i did. Two hundred seventy seven live events in two hundred one cities just in two thousand nine. Is kobe covid. Also going through hard times. It's just a matter of how you view the hard times. My buddy less brown. Who i've had on my podcast and who i've had the privilege of working with he said nathan in life. Don't don't just go through it. Grow through exactly. And that's what we're doing. At least i hope we are. I'm very normal. Mickey mouse and donald on my shoulder here. I'm just a doubt. I've got three teenage sons and an eight year old son. I'm a true osmond. We have all four to eight boys. That's crews yeah on the side and only about seventeen or girls and so we have to adopt girls to cause little. You can't have them in our family. We we love our girl cousins. They're amazing just love family. We're all about family and you know what when life gets hard. Reach out you know..

Words is one of my favorite statements. I think of you. Because i been beat up over the head. People will beat you up with their wealth or with their celebrity or with their religion or with whatever. And that's not what spirituality is all about. So i i see where. Trader Joe's Fall Products to (Pumpkin) Spice Up Your Shopping List

"Welcome to another of our short shopping list episodes. I'm Tara Miller director of words and phrases and clauses, and I'm Matt Sloan, the marketing product guy now just about everyone in every type of business has had to make adjustments during this pandemic but we're proud the trader Joe's has maintained a commitment to developing new products to giving you that sense of discovery on every visit. So, let the discoveries begin. All right hold on I'm just organizing. I don't even know where to start there. So many new products. What's purple on the outside creamy white on the inside and makes a Great Ship Donny Osmond socks no. Almost Masaaki sweet potatoes. They're not the normal sweet potato. They're not the bright orange sweet potato, their paler in color and flavor. Wise. I'm going to say that they're kind of like a roasted chestnut in obnoxious kind of way. But in a nice way like insists nutty sweetness these are great chips but wait met we sell. Masaaki. Potatoes in our protection when we can get them. These are delicious sweet potatoes people love them. They're great for you. You meant the sweet potatoes themselves. You mean in chip form that these should be considered some kind of health. Okay. These are potato chips, full disclosure, right So they come with all the caveats that regular chips do sweet potatoes themselves really good for you. I will stand by them. Those are probably in the store. Already I think those are coming in at the beginning of September or something like that, and they are limited because there's a limited number of these potatoes that can be made into chips. People associate trader Joe's with Pumpkins stuff in the fall. How about Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Slim's I mean this is a candy. Yes Pretzel but it's a pretzel that is swimming in really nice white chocolate with crushed pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds and I think we're trying to figure out another way to Pumpkin on their one more time. These are just great. So if you like the peppermint. Pretzel Slim's. I think you'd be a fan of these to these are really tasty sweet with just a little salty. So you just WANNA keep coming back for more. Another thing. That is sweet. But I think not too sweet are the pumpkin spice batons that are coming in and those are kind of a very close relative to the cocoa batons that we have every day and the vanilla batons we have the villa batons. Do, and we've had coffee batons we lemon for awhile it's a wafer cookie with pumpkin spice filling inside I mean it's kind of simple and straightforward, but it's a you know kind of thing you could have with a cup of coffee or even some ice cream though should be in stores by the time. This podcast lands and folks should be able to grab those right away. They're just delicious when we're thinking about. What else to include as a Pumpkin version we often look to really popular products Brioche we sell an inordinate amount of that classic agee, Sweet french-style Bread. We have a Pumpkin Brioche coming I'm excited for this. I think French toast will never be the same. That was also super limited by the right like it's it's in and we'll have it for a little while, but it's not something that's going to be around for. You know months and months and months. That's our hope for infant works or it'll be a great. Saint. Patrick's Day breakfast and by that time it'll be green. So perfect. One of the things that was a big sort of revelation to me this year even though it's not something we invented it's not something we were the first to think of is the spicy pumpkin curry simmer sauce that's coming in. It's kind of inspired more by a Thai curry than Indian curry but it has all of those really classic curry flavors. With the addition of actual Pumpkin and it's like thick and it's creamy and it's got a really good kick to it. I'M GONNA. Say This is good. Right out of the jar actually with Yeah Yeah I can't wait to hear about how people put this to use. We are working on a recipe right now internally for a Vegetarian Spicy Pumpkin Curry potpie that we're hoping to have on our website and in the fearless flyer in late. September. Also, I think slated to be featured in an upcoming flyer many spicy Pumkin Samosas the. Sabih in the frozen section, this is not a Pumpkin pie situation at all. This is an appetizer wonderful bridge creamy spiced pumpkin filling. This does sort of flavor. Wise. Go more toward the Indian style curry Classic Somoza Spices are used this. These are delicious. They're really good with a number of different kinds of sauces has been a we've tried them with a Chutney but also with our sweet chili sauce, which takes its inspiration from Thai cuisine and the hot and sweet pepper Jelly these tastes really good dipped in any of those. I'm still focused and obsessed with Pumpkin Pumpkin Nada. Now, this is a Pumpkin pie situation. So think of a small Mexican inspired hand pie with delicious spiced kind of a classic spice, Pumpkin Pie Spice filling. So. Good. So not like spicy spice but like sweet savory spice, the spices more like our spiced apple cider or a traditional Pumpkin pie spice sat up I mean this would be great for breakfast I. Think because I like to have pie for breakfast you know pine a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day, and this is like a little pie. So it's like I'm just having a little Lil Pie wilpon. That's your new nickname. Okay.

What do you say about police shooting Black because again? The facts don't matter. Stats don't matter. The only thing that matters is the overarching narrative, a narrative that the Democrats keep backing. And they can't find a wayto to thread this needle. They cannot Because in order to make the case that you ought to give them power, and they'll fix it from within the system. You also have to make the case that the system is worth upholding, and they cannot make that system it from Kenny has made it impossible to make that case. "Army navy and air. Force. All Have East sports teams, serious gaming teams that compete in tournaments and these days. You can find members of those military east sports teams on twitch playing first person shooters like call of duty warzone. Oh Fuck on Yegor could end typically what it looks like. You know the video game is dominating the screen. There's a chat room that runs on the side and people could ask you questions or like joke around with you. Go down and. That was close the military version of this is people in the military, usually in a a uniform and when I say uniform I mean Niece Sports GonNa form okay. But looks more like like an Athletic Jersey branded as the army or the navy. And they're playing the game. and talking to people that come into the room. Mid People ask them questions about the navy or the army like what life is like there and they talk about it. It's like office hours for the military but over video games. Right exactly gamers forever have been sitting on a couch with each other like playing video games and like talking and hanging out. wildwood. Girlfriend law twitch is a way to. Do that on a worldwide scale right and so what the military is hoping is that they can get into that space to like start a conversation with potential recruits to understand how we got here. Matthew says you have to go back in time we want to go back to like twenty eighteen. So in two, thousand, eighteen, the military has a recruitment problem. It's struggling to reach the right audience because they're putting their money in the wrong place they've been spending money on television for years, tens of millions of dollars. And it's not working. It's not getting the same amount of return as used to young people are watching television at the they used to be. Now I'm sure you've already reached this conclusion but the young people there on the Internet watching Youtube twitch. So the military changes tactics, the navy, the most transparent about this. So we're going to use their figures to illustrate the change in strategy in two thousand seventeen the navy spent almost half of its advertising budget on TV ads but by twenty, twenty, ninety, seven percent of the Navy's advertising budget was set aside for online advertising. Real Effects of Paying it Forward

"According to research paying it forward isn't just touchy feely Gimmick. And it's also not that tear jerker movies starring Hayley. Joe Osmond Right. No paying it forward is a real thing with real effects and can make your workplace and the world a better place to be. Here's the scoop. Researchers from UC UC Riverside assigned employees at coca-cola's Madrid Office to be either givers or receivers givers practice five acts of kindness for a personalized list of receivers over a four week period. Importantly the givers got to choose. What kind of kind actions they performed that. They want to leave encouraging sticky sticky notes on friends. Desk bring their neighbor a coffee compliments. Someone's new coat. It was up to them. In the meantime they periodically checked in with the researchers about their happiness. Venus life satisfaction job satisfaction mood and experience of positive and negative behaviors. The acts of kindness impacted office life in a big way over. The course of the study receivers noticed more acts of kindness around the office and felt more in control of their workdays. They also reported feeling happier. And the givers felt the benefits to the felt more satisfied with life and with their jobs and they also experienced fewer symptoms of depression. They even felt more competence and confidence confidence in their work. But here's the kicker not only do these acts improve the wellbeing of both groups in the short and long term but receivers were nearly three Times as likely to pay it forward or perform their own act of kindness after an interaction with their giver. This goes to show that when you're kind to someone everyone can benefit benefit so go ahead and send some goodness out into the world. You never know where it might end up.

Royal Family 'Caught Off Guard' By Meghan Markle & Prince Harry's Statement

"Yesterday. Talked on here about making markle and Prince Harry's decision to take a step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family. They also announced that they'd be splitting their time between the UK and North America while this story is obviously still unfolding and oh baby. We've got so much more talk about today. Apparently after yesterday's official instagram statement from Harry and Meghan which is so funny that this all went down on instagram of all things but anyway after their instagram post yesterday about an hour later spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth. The second send out her own announcement. It had kind univer fraught tone and read quote. Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand the desire to take take a different approach but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through and quote so clearly the the Royal Family is not not on the same page is here in Megan and obviously everyone in the entire world is freaking out about this and I've gotta say the statement that the Queen released not only sounds angry angry and tone. It looks angry on the page. It's like if you look at it. It's like on a stark white piece of stationery in like all cops aerial font it. It has like a red royal communications crest at the top. Obviously they had no time to send this to the Royal Department of Graphic Design and anyway apparently apparently a source close to the royals spoke with people dot com and people described the new insider Info saying quote insiders. Tell people that the ninety the three year old monarch and senior members of the royal family including Prince Charles and Prince William were caught off guard. By the release of the couple's statement on Wednesday and quote according to the Sun. The Queen is said to be disappointed that no family members were consulted before the statement was sent out. I love that Harry and Meghan in just completely ghosted the royal family there were just like now. We're done by girl buying I think I think it's great. I think it's cool this source. Who spoke folks should people also said quote? There's a lot of hurt about this end quote. I mean from what I'm hearing the Queen and her whole royal family entourage entourage seem way more vocally upset about this than any of the Prince Andrew stuff. That's been going on but you know priorities. I guess since a lot of people are saying that Harry and Meghan might move back to his hometown of La. I've gotta read you this tweet. My Friend Nadia Osmond Roach. She's at Miss. Nadia Osman she she wrote quote. Damn Megan markle moving back to La in time for pilot season How convenient to come back to America in January end quote

Why Is Building Muscle Important for Everyone?

"Today's episode is brought to you by the capital one venture card the capital one venture card you earn unlimited double miles on every purchase everyday and you can use those miles toward travel expenses like flights hotels the rental cars and more just book and pay for your travel using your venture card and redeemer miles toward the cost capital one. What's in your wallet. Credit approval required capital one bank u._s._a. N._a. Look them to brainstorm production of iheartradio. Hey brain stuff lauren vocal bomb here if you think that getting stronger means slinging around the most iron possible at the local gym think again if you think that building muscle is only for buff guys in tight tank tops think again and if you think the term hypertrophy is to scienc- to even say for your own health and well-being you again need to think again yeah i per- tricky is an enlargement of existing cells that leads to an increase in the volume of bodily tissue a four our purposes hypertrophy is an increase of muscle tissue in other words building muscle don't back away. Don't shake your head and mutter. That's not for me. Building muscle is for everyone at just about every stage of life. It's a critical part of staying healthy and you don't need to pump iron to do. You don't need bulging veins. You don't even need to know the difference between a trapeze and a deltoid. You just need to work your muscles. We spoke with brad schoenfeld. A renowned fitness expert was published more than one hundred papers in academic. Journals on exercise is an sports nutrition. He said it's not only growing muscle. It's losing muscle if you don't resistance train whereby you're looking to build muscle it's really static atika choice because you end up losing muscle. Resistance training is simply working your muscles against some kind of resistance that resistance can come in the form warm of weights or stretchy bam's commonly called resistant spans or exercise bands or even your own body weight is you're doing push-up. You're using your body weight to force certain muscles to work work in that counts show and feld said after about the age of thirty five the average person who's not lifting weights is gonna lose roughly a half percent of their muscle mass per per year and that percentage start to accelerate when you get into your late fifties early sixties and then it's exponential after that so what's the big deal with losing using little muscle a being physically active which by definition means building and maintaining healthy muscles improves mental health lowers the risk of stroke improves cognitive function an improved sleep increases joint flexibility and improves balance thereby reducing the risk of falls in the elderly and that's just a few benefits stronger muscles helps strengthen bones and control blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Thus building muscle muscle hypertrophy is a much researched subject end of the course of history recommendations based on that research have changed the key question is how to most efficiently build muscle given a few variables such as the number of repetitions is or reps and the number of sets of any particular exercise a set being a predetermined number of reps so ten reps of say pushups. Maybe one set an exercise exercise. Program may call for more than one set of that single exercise the level of resistance or the load say the weight on a barbell in the gym or the tension in a resistant expand or your body weight if you're doing pushups is certainly a factor to schoenfeld said i think our misperceptions about what actually builds muscle a a lot of times people think they have to lift heavy weights to build muscle. There's actually a lot of good research showing that muscle growth can be developed over a wide array of repetition ranges so so throw out the old notion that heavyweights build strength and lots of reps somehow tone the muscles you can get equally full muscles without cushing eye-bulging. Wait as long long as you do. Enough reps that the final ones are challenging to complete think difficult to impossible in the end the goal is to literally on a cellular level build build more muscle when muscles are exercised enough cellular level damage occurs triggering a process which proteins are dispatched to repair or replace damaged inch cells that process build on existing structures like my oh fibers and sam years a bigger muscle is born of course all of that is just so much science gobbledygook for those concerned only with looking better at a t shirt or keeping their blood sugar from skyrocketing or simply getting down the stairs without a hip shattering tumble hypertrophy. You can also just be doing enough exercise to be strong enough to get those jobs done schoenfeld said using weights as one of the best way to do it the way that you're going into ultimately over time built muscle is by consistently challenging your body but you can just do push ups and other bodyweight exercises things like squats lunges are toast dams that will at least early on have positive effects on strength and muscle growth over time. It gets harder to challenge your muscles but there's ways if you're inventive that you can just use body anyway or resistance bands. The national institute on aging suggests strength building exercise session two more days a week without working the same muscle group two days as in a row. Everybody is different and finding out what works for you may require some experimentation especially when you factor in other variables like diet. It's a good idea to consult a health professional before starting any new exercise or nutrition program but the overall message on per trophy is clear. It's not something reserved for jim. Rats and wannabe schwarzenegger's building muscle is crucial to good health and aging well for all of us. Today's episode was written by john donovan and produced by tyler clan. "He'll life is a lot harder. I did that for a good thirty five years of my life until I realized that everyone else was pulling the wool over my eyes. I thought I was alone in my insecurities. Like, I was saying earlier turns out that most of us have insecurities that the rest of the world doesn't know about and many of us know how to fake confidence which makes the rest of us feel like. We don't have a takes that guy. So confident he walks around with his chest puffed out, and that woman, she can take on a whole board room and have no problem with it whatsoever. Yet, they could be just faking their confidence to get through the situation that could be powering through it. And we feel like we're small we feel like we're insecure we feel this, and we feel that and we see these other people doing this amazing things we wish we were more like them. But very very often. Those people are feeling the same thing they are just taking what I call leaps of faith. They're just gonna feel the fear in do it. Anyway, they're going to step right into that fear and just make it happen. And then when they come out of it, they might have to shake it off because most of us feel the same thing, you are not alone. It reminds me of Donny Osmond him and his sister were a singing duo and in the seventies and eighties and probably even now, I don't know anymore. But he was an entertainer. And he wants said that if he had a choice of walking out on stage or dying he would have chosen death. He was so frightened of going on stage. Even though that was his life. He did it from childhood. He went onstage he entertained. That's all he ever did or at least for most of his life, and he was frightened to death. He did not want to go onstage. He had so much insight around it yet when you watch them Monte when you look up he looked so confident so I look at somebody like that in a while, Donny Osmond feels insecure going on stage, then at least I don't feel so alone. When I'm doing what I do. But I I also work on this stuff. I introduce elements into my life that put me in situations that caused me to face these fears. This is you know, you face the fear to do it. Anyway, I put myself on stage when I'm afraid to go onstage. I put myself in front of people in purposefully selected embarrassing situations. To push myself further to get more, comfortable being uncomfortable to get more secure being insecure or pregnant how it's put, but I became more secure with every little thing that I introduced to get over the hump to get over the the fear when you do that more and more and more you end up desensitizing yourself in realizing hand, I lived through that moment. Hey, I made it. Hey, people laughed not at me. But with me, hey, people laughed because they were nervous to seen me in that situation because they were trying it on they were empathetic. They were thinking that. I would never do that so themselves they're thinking, I would never do that. I can't believe he's up to I'm over a girlfriend. She's like, I can't believe you did that I can't believe you went on stage that wasn't even meant for you. And I said what she said when they called up the boyfriends and significant others, they meant of the. Was over union. I went to singing unit for her and her singing friends, they meant the the men that have already been there before then have already done it that are still active in these groups..

A two-day meeting today we're also watching for ADP's scout of, private payroll growth and sprint continues to gain customers Posting its twelve. Straight quarter of growth in phone subscribers and raising its, profit forecast Gina Cervetti Bloomberg radio Cloudy and seventy. Two cents Chuck, and Kelly quite a bit of drama in Schenectady yesterday on a couple of different fronts first, of all there was a a note found about nine o'clock yesterday. Morning outside the county building on avenue and it really. Caused a lot of trouble for almost, three hours they. Evacuated county buildings and it's gonna. County office, buildings close to traffic employees were evacuated Scotty county library vacuous this is sergeant met during significant. You, know. Obviously incident Due to the vague nature of. It you know there are several. Addresses that need to be checked for everyone's safety, and you have pretty much the entire police department here and like I said you know. We have canine officer here. In Schenectady but, due to the large scale, of this event we needed to. Call in canine officers from the state, police from Albany county from Saratoga county from Troy to make, sure that, we, can get this done in as much of a timely fashion as possible so presumably there'll be serious consequences if they found. Whoever left this, note was diagnosed they found about nine o'clock outside the county office building inferring some sort of, a threat so they were extra cautious this next story Kelly also. Out of Schenectady sounds a like a soap opera I'm, not sure where. The truth lies but there are a. Lot of interesting elements to the, story let's, say okay A few months. Ago a woman was arrested for. Violating an order of protection a and stocking and, a whole series of charges because it's alleged that she was in a relationship with a. Schenectady cop and he was. Married she's married, it did not end well, and she's accused of sending explicit. Photos of her private parts to the, cops wife and the cops wife went in this order protection, filed against, her And in protecting her and five other members of, the family so the woman was arrested so yesterday comes out that sees now filed a notice of claim against the city claiming that the cop. Allegedly had. The affair with his brother, is the police chief Clifford bright so he is accused him of going to the state police and telling her husband everything or Osmond supervisor right right Is your. Husband's a a state trooper. And so is the guy that clever told so she's alleging that he abused power and made he's he actually says that he made her look like a complete lunatic I'm gonna. Say maybe the foundation was already there we will see well so she's like filed, like a ten million. Dollar, claim Classic ten million dollars she claims that. Chief Clifford acted outside the. Scope of his employment defamation abuse, of power and says that he she. Called he calls her husband's boss at to. Say that she was having an affair with the with his brother and wow. So you have the chief Eric Clifford in Schenectady then Sean Clifford the I think he's the city's canine. Officer the brother of the chief he put out. A, statement says this is difficult time for my family I'm doing all. I can to protect them I sincerely apologize to. My family for. The, endorsement that this is brought them so quite the drama Hey get him what I I know you can't because it's all alleged everything. For, super quickly I mean I don't have a dog in this fight but it's like, deja vu, it seems. Every other week we wake up and there's like up the Rensselaer county DA's office missed another deadline and another bad guy may. Walk free as a result it's happened again lost, track of how many. Times does this happen but you're talking about a double murder suspect, now who's probably going to walk free because he missed. Another deadline there was a double murder long story short double murder in Troy they they've been to the grand. Jury. Twice to get indictments twice the judge said you're, missing some stuff? Yeah forty five days to go for a. Third attempt to get it. Done long story short forty five, day the forty five day period has. Now passed and the the defense attorney saying. Forty five day period past let this guy go so this has happened before. With a sex offender And it almost happened, with the, guy who bludgeoned to death in Lansing. Birds right they didn't. They didn't disclose that one of the key witnesses actually was involved, in another court, case is this. Guy and I don't, have a dog at, the, by either I? Don't live in Rensselaer county but from an outsider you now have sex. Offenders going, free and now would double murder suspect is, going to be back out. On the streets you don't deserve to hold that office if you have mistakes of this magnitude the only good news is that this incompetence the Rensselaer county DA's office. In this particular, case if I understand it correctly maybe I'll be. Proven wrong this guy there will be no Justice on these murder charges but I think he'll be deported so. At least you won't be, on our, streets, it'll be the murderer. Will be back on somebody else's streets but the point is that he's accused of killing two people at. A, pretty violent and brutal manner and up sorry we missed the deadline you know maybe, we should, invest in. The calendar that's what I'm thinking or maybe we should reconsider our career choices in SRP invoice list price dealer price Toby Knapp. Here if your car shopping you've probably heard these Terms but. What do they mean, it's so confusing it was, confusing not anymore we tell.
