We have a great entertaining show that seems right for the holiday this independence day that comes just a couple of weeks after Juneteenth was declared a national holiday, we're going to hear my interview with composer pianist bandleader and singer Jon Batiste with Batiste at his home piano. So he could play and sing for us, including doing his interpretations of the national anthem and the black National anthem. Lift every voice. This year, Batiste won an Oscar Golden Globe and critics Choice award for composing the Jazz music for the Pixar animated films Soul, which is streaming on Disney Plus He also arranged and performed that part of the score. Batista is the music director and band leader of the late show with Stephen Colbert. During the pandemic lockdown, Batiste got into the streets to perform at protests after George Floyd was killed. And to play pop up performances, including at a mass vaccination site in New York. We recorded our interview in March after the release of his album We are, which reflects his love of soul, R and B pop, gospel and marching bands as well as jazz. And of course, you can hear the influence of New Orleans, where he's from and where his family is known for playing music. He started performing with his family's band when he was a child. Let's start with the title track from We are I thought the feeling.

"Any number of nasty characters, including the local kingpin played by Bill Duke and a surly gangster played by an amusingly typecast Ray Liotta. Jon Hamm turns up as a nosy police detective and looks right at home in the decade before mad men. Through it all Cheerful, and Del Toro, who have both worked with Soderbergh before maintain a nicely combative rapport, playing two very different men who have grown weary of their lives of crime. While Ronald plans to retire. Kurt has nobler intentions. He wants to pour some of the spoils back into the black communities in Detroit that have suffered heavily under racist housing policies and zoning laws. Those are just a few of the many social issues the movie touches on, including the tensions between the city's black and Italian populations and the disastrous environmental consequences of an unchecked automobile industry. These matters aren't always woven as smoothly into the story as they could have been, but they give no sudden move a potent edge nonetheless. Pulled in by the suave camera work and Hannah Bechler's rich mid century production design. But you're also made aware of the inequities churning beneath the surface. That social conscience is nothing new for Soderberg, who's made some of his best movies about working class drivers from Erin Brockovich. Two Magic Mike Here. He is less focused on individuals than an entire corrupt system showing us how the men in the executive suites are as crooked as the ones shooting each other in the streets. While no sudden move does feature a lot of awful male misbehavior, Soderbergh has always been just as interested in his female characters. And he doesn't neglect the crucial roles played by the women in this fifties gangland setting. Amy Seimetz Aqui force on the Soderbergh produced series. The Girlfriend Experience gives one of the movies best performances as Mark's wife, Mary. Unlike her feckless fool of a husband, she handles a scary situation with unflappable smarts and courage. There are other terrific actors to like Lauren Astrada, Julia Fox and Frankie Shaw. They may be playing house wives or mistresses or secretaries. But they all have an inner strength or defiant streak, a refusal to let the Kaddish and controlling men in their lives. Call the shots. I'd gladly follow any of them into movies of their own. Eight years ago steven soderbergh announced his retirement from feature filmmaking happily for us. It turned out to be short-lived since twenty. I came in and out. I just really because Violet Davis is everything in that show and that show Gave Viola Davis the money. And the status to be able to start her own production companies say yes or no to what she wanted to do. I mean, that really made her a household name, even though she's one to Tony's Thie, Emmy and Oscar Golden Globe, a BAFTA and like literally 90 other awards. But it's the how to get away with murder playing Annalise Keating. "Okay so somebody on Youtube said MIA says I don't watch the super bowl off. The real action is watching the people who watch the game. Okay I agree with that. I agree with that and then and then con condon on Youtube said has any. Okay this is gonNA sound weird. I'M GONNA say in any way your Pascal kind of looking thick not gonNA life with this. Is Somebody on Youtube man who he's interested interesting. I guess it is. Yeah I guess it is a man. Okay so I have never heard of the with Suzy's you see I'm done. He's blushing. Black Man could blow it with a double seat. I'm done with all y'all's anyway. Those comments are there So thank you so much for your everybody. Who's tuning in and commenting and all that stuff with you? You never heard that before my life towards a man that me neither okay towards the toilet grown. Okay so my my opinion Well I I don't I don't football very much so I go to the Games. I'm always root for the underdog because it's always an entertaining time especially I see when underdog wins so. I do that because it keeps me entertained because usually I don't know who to who to who four right so that's me. That's that's part one part two. I go there for the food. I'm going to keep America. Yeah go for the wings man the wings the the the the buffalo dip the buffalo chicken and all that stuff you know what I mean the beers the whole nine so I'm usually there to go and watch for for that. Let's just be friends. Yeah there's everybody who's getting just getting hyphen just people who are rooting for teams. That aren't who they usually root for that kind of saying saying you know what I'm saying just hearing stats. That usually just kind of like. Oh that's really going to tell me right. Cool okay. Seven hundred sixty six balls alls you're gonNA say that's fantastic but moving on so for me it used to be about the the commercials needs to be all about the commercials for me and then the commercials just started kind of dying off so maybe hopefully the revive that get that back up and running again and and make something worthwhile. So we'll see you know what I'm saying like the plan is peanut. One was very interesting but why did they leak it out already. They should've waited for the super bowl. That's my personal opinion on that. Maybe they're going to continue. I think that that is going to be a part two. Yeah or there's GonNa be a series throughout the super bowl Russian like event some. I'm assuming that's going to be like four or five. You know what I mean. All smashed through one but anyway I mainly just to be part of what's going on and just knowing what's going down. Most of the Times seems like when you go watch the grammies the Oscars Golden Globes or anything like that. You're watching it because you want to see the big moment. You don't WanNa miss that big moment. That everyone else is going to be talking about the next day he did that was really out. Yes the jury's out if he's if he's good proved trust me trust me. This dude is town. I believe you so you wouldn't mind if he was trashed. This do beyond that. This dude is very very talented. And I'm sure right now he's Kinda smiling and going home stop. Stop Ah Stop Anyway. Let's get into it. We got some news and we got Tommy boy on the phone. He's still elevated and his feet up in the ear and all that stuff because broke his ankle guys just because he broke his ankle. It's okay pause anyway. So what's been going on in the world today. My brother. Oh not much. How're you doing? Pasco how's everybody doing today. We are good man we are good. What's popping man was going on? How are you? How's that I was not great met with my doctor yesterday and then going in for surgery on Friday on it. Wait wait what you're going to. You're you having surgery for real. Humphry will help you. Yeah I was GONNA say on a on a good thing. Sounds like that's what needs is to be done. Yeah Yeah Yeah they. They took a look at it. Yesterday ended a few other tests. And Yeah they're like. Yeah if you don't have this done you have a our risk of arthritis. If you don't have this surgery man well I mean. Hey if that's what needs to be done that's what needs is to be done right. Let's do it so that he'll be back on this show. We don't care about anything else except you. Can you ask back on this. No saying to be back on image though you know oh I know I'm a bit of a homebody but even I'm getting cabin fever. No kidding man. Tired of those cats last time just just tired damage. Anyway was what's going on in the world. My brother all right. Well let's see today. The Republicans are expected. Thanks to wrap up their case their defense case Donald Trump and the impeachment trial. I don't know if anybody anybody watch any of the impeachment trial yesterday nobody listened. I didn't watch anything car. God It's been it's been. I've listened the whole time. Actually kind of a nerd when it comes. I've been listening to NPR like it's time for the impeachment on all day so the thing is is that like yes. I'm watching with like one ear but you know what I'm saying. I'm listening with one ear but I'm kind of not paying attention because I'm just literally waiting for the bombshells does the drop. I'm waiting for bombs and bombs are not happening right now. Is this the bunch of low. Hum's you know what I mean. Little little little mosquito bites and I'm like all right I'm waiting waiting for the big. The Big Bang. You know what I mean and the Big Bang hasn't happened yet you know it's like issue get off the pot where right now. It's like it come on. Everyone's got a book that they're dropping over about about trump and it's like I want I just want to hear the truth. I just WanNa hear what's going on in the trials the big in the the big testimonies and keep moving and the verdict and be done. You know what I mean. I know because we can't handle the the truth. I'll tell you something that happened with me. Yesterday as I was watching the trial is I think. The lawyers aimless Hirschman one of trump's lawyers US news up there talking and he showed like a clip of like the Obama Romney debate from what two thousand twelve. Okay and I'm sitting there wonder like how does this have any bearing on this case. At all and I listened to disguise argument that was so thin and weak and I started to think that myself like I would have been a great lawyer. I should've lawyer. This guy's terrible thought. Yeah I could've been I could've come up for the much better argument than this. This is irrelevant trash. And then and then it dawned on me this doesn't happen to have a good argument. No because the Republicans aren't GonNa do anything anyway. It's a crash and burn. You know what I was thinking too while listening to these two all of this. They should really have this with a with like a non biased in front of a real jury of Lloyd of like American people could even be evenly split with between Democrats and Republicans. Just because I feel like they need non-bias non-political puppet ears on what's happening. Otherwise what's the point. Yeah it's like all of this is before all this time for why like you said Nothin. I heard on on the on the trump side and not because I don't like trump. I literally listened so that I can see okay. Maybe they'll make some points they're ridiculous. Yeah about Yep. Unbelievably black can't relate because I don't know what you guys are talking about because I hadn't seen it so you know what I'm saying so I mean unfortunately it's something I missed out out yesterday and now I'm sure it's going to be like I said it's all low home stuff and it's like all right. It's all bs there like we talked about yesterday. You know these dudes it's all. These republicans are writer died like they just. They're they're just like the the Italian mafia the Mafia. You know what I'm saying. So we'll see what happens on the next thing I'm just like I said I'm I'm waiting for the next shoe to fall or the next of the many shoes that are supposed to fall. I'm just waiting for some results. I just want to see some results already. You know what I mean but what else this is going on man. All right well Does anybody use the AVAST Antivirus used to Oh us too. Yeah skews excuse. Well they've they've kind of in. What is that? It's a vast Antivirus I I believe it's It's kind of an alternative to your Norton Nanhai Virus or fit defender. What have you never have you heard of this Libyan? He's innocent. He said it's an alternative to something else that I never heard of. Yeah Yeah I just like the McAfee. These are all people that are musicians. So they're using apple.

"Six forty. well the road through the road to the Emmys and the Oscars the golden globes all runs right through the show. and it's not that expensive bam I'm telling you it's less than fifty million dollars. and I think you'd be surprised how much great publicity and perhaps a huge award. because we're telling thousands of people who work in the industry about your program at night when they're driving home. and maybe they weren't sure who they're going to vote for. but the army's Oscars. golden globes. and then they hear us talk about Mike okay well I I'm makes sense that the more. awards that these local shows gap that are filmed here locally. our like live in front of an audience. and the all the family and the Jeffersons the more though shows stay in production here and that is and proof of that we do have that we're not even be asking you ABC has ordered two more shows. do you hear that Bella you're about them. they've ordered two more I don't know if they're the shows it on the same night or two separate nights but they're gonna do to more of those shows like they did live in front of an audience. like from an old sitcom with life yeah you know which one I yeah there are Roseanne and The Cosby Show. you. they call it in in the vernacular. "Dash special edition really right littman. I'm Hellawell jam session teatime crossover event in the spirit of great television. We Love Crossover Event Lover Knock Great Television. What's going for it yeah. It's really negative because it was a really bad show we'll bounce Dallas and positively the phoebe Waller Abridge high of one in this is not fair. Thanks Jeff. Why why am I not in high too. I UH-HUH OH yeah yeah. It was a great night for her. That's true but to me. It was a television show true. No not definitely not what I mean. I think you know you're right on that note kate. Why don't you kick things off on a high for us. We're GONNA talk with highs and lows. We'll go back and forth all right start positive. I was the red carpet action pretty good pretty fun lot of color you know from the men and the women we love a color jacket. I'm I'm trying to do my best like Juliana ransack because it working your calendar at all you know mercilessly Nicolas Coster Waldo. They just like did the goal they are in Green. Yeah he looked really good. He looks great seen him look bad but I drew this award show as he does in every single still of photography taking him ever Israel. Where's the talks really well of any family well. It's a gift Lotta Pink and red dresses which I liked all of them. I think we were talking about just looks like a huge. Valentine onstage dynasty chic which I was into like Mandy Moore could've just like stepped off like an eighty soap op right and that's what I want for my fashion. We also have to Raji. GP Henson Great Yeah. All three of them have either watch dialing Hollywood on Netflix but I've heard it's really good it is really good and like the the first three episodes center around Dang Raji Henson's emmys dress code and yes this last year okay because Jason Baldness her stylist stylist and they're really good friends to show and so I was just thinking styling Hollywood and season two can't wait to hear about distress. They held it shadow styling Hollywood. One of Netflix few wins tonight. flicks yeah slow for them kind of great. Let's commercials now. ozark night were their networks commercials which wines the breaking bad movie. Yes that's true the Camino last hour. There were a few three just kept seeing the new netflix seven million. Leeann streaming sites now and there were commercials for all of them and there's a lot of apple plus huge. I feel like it anyway back to fashion. I also might think probably my favorite was purchase. There's Clarkson. She did like blonde more tissue atoms which is real kate everything you want from purchase. Clarkson ever but yeah it was great never looked great. We all oh really Zendaya so late though like we didn't really see your until she walked out in glasses she present which was fabulous. She's got the marvel money and she's a cool kid. So Oh yes you need to get there early. That's true. Actually she doesn't have marvel money anymore. Right right YEP per spiderman series is dead. Maybe they only mice. I'd still like to you see how that's ultimately resolved but yeah we know about that stuff too. I WANNA share that Kid Harrington who I generally have no interest in as John Snow or in real life but I thought he looks phenomenal Q. Like the Best I've ever seen him. Maybe yes maybe the best never looked tie really channeling Richard Madden which was a great look for him also recommended not show which was Sassou. Ask You guys see what Richard Man did in debt yeah bill t rex out of Lego instagram could for him huge flex. You know I'd like to nominate Emilia Clarke while around the gas are- if Valentino I I'd love to know about. I assume it's tape. That's involved in this attraction but she's wearing confidence. She looks great. I was so ready to root against I'm sorry I did but she made it a little bit more difficult than I had plans. At least you followed through my Rudolph and Michelle Williams both in floral patterns both looking great really really enjoyed that more Michelle Williams in a few minutes. I liked Natasha. Leones look also should we talk about Natasha. Leone clapping. Yeah you're cool. Kidman Adman clapping apparently it is interesting way of clapping. It is like she just learnt how a small child when you teach them how to do applies their hands together but she was consistent in it. She applauded for a lot of people which we appreciate. I really liked it. She was wearing glasses during the show. I just love glasses formal. Look look at the Oscars Golden Globes and EMMYS. It's very common and I think it's a great I would do it. Billy Puerto Ricans and also the formal yes. It's a great addition. It's fake furnished. We're on the same the same people to do it because like young always does it. Oprah as a love the former bosses Amanda. I'm happy to tell you that the Tasha Leo Gift of her clapping readily available for whenever you need that's great people are ready. I think that makes sense. I'm just going to try to do it in my own life. One more nomination. Naomi watts she looks phenomenal and black just logged in just great the new game of thrones star new game. It's just getting ready. I I liked we'll talk a lot more reckoning with routes but I like to the end of the show how David any off who is my one true love can be like and now it's over we did it and now it is over totally disavowing try to shut out any notions of the prequels and spin offs that are that are coming alright great injection positively positively we'll ride this enthusiasm into talking about the most awkward moment of evening which was allow a complicated one which was when. Phoebe Waller Bridge won on Best Actress in a comedy beating out Julia Louis Dreyfuss in her final season as Lena Meyer from beep and bridges incredibly happy. Kate was incredibly happy. Many people on the Internet were incredibly happy. Let's get this out of the way. This is a pro fleabag podcast. You're lovely about free. It's one of the best things that that I've seen in any medium in two thousand and nineteen. Maybe in the decade yet great up there yeah fix perfect episodes a season two. Yes at flawless sure but Julia Louis Dreyfus purpose is probably the best television actress of in history. Yeah I think she's like Lucille Ball and Carol channing. Yes and she had one for veep. I believe every season she had been nominated and she was going to break the record for the most emmy wins by a woman of of all time and she she is there's also a breast cancer survivor yeah and that happened between these seasons so I think we all assumed that this would be her emmy and and it was not and that's the way the cookie crumbles moreover everyone in the room assuming yes so it was like the most tepid response. It's a win from a show that is universally praised yes. I'm sure that no one's like fleabag doesn't deserve it deserve. It really sucks sucks. That's how the point just was such an incredibly awkward moment. Totally I think okay like root for history. It's like when you walk or it's and you want to see a record broken or you. You want like someone's got hot. Hand you want to leave him in the game but as long as possible like it's okay to root for history it's okay to experience that moment and it was just really awkward. Yeah and it's also a fever waller. Bridge did not really read the room in that moment. I was wondering I guess veep is maybe not a big deal in the UK. They don't care about it. They're like we have in the loop. We don't actually need the American version of IANUCCI stuff but she was like thanking her agent and I just it wasn't the note that you wanted at that. Moment also weird for her to be profusely thanking or agent given the feud between writers and agents right now. Yes weird moment. It was not mentioned once during the entire telecast now's house per day and there was a lot of ignoring everything going on TV. No one was talking about streaming services. Everyone was just you know thinking whatever likes Amazon that that helped them. A lot of Amazon wants by the way but yeah it just it. It was uncomfortable. Even though it was happy yeah it's like not undeserved served right with the moment felt wrong and it. Kinda sucks then for our bread shoes. True talent is actually Frank Kayla. I will say like she seems super for actress to me in that moment in a way. I don't like to acknowledge and I just like Oh. This is a real actress but she also had just been up there like I think it would have been different if she hadn't won anything yet yet right right right so she had just been up there. She's up there again. It's like Oh you again like everyone loves her but like it is. It would have been different than if it had just been the first win for few celebrity yeah so it's tough. It's a no win a little bit she continued to she did continue to win now. She did and it was awesome. That fleabag won best comedy. US totally detailing curling. Everyone say their favorite episode man you go first the last one I mean come on the answer here. I soon as you said that to me. I I also kind of don't think of them as discreet right so it's entirely it was just one you could put those together and it would be like one very long movie and it would be kind of perfect shorter then some worth celebrating movies kate the first episode the pilot was the second season yeah great one of the Jumpsuit Yeah Mine's the number three's Kristin Scott Thomas See Russia Kristin Scott Thurow's Jonzon hot priest socially tough but you got yeah Kristin Scott Thomas. Oh yeah that's a trade. That's funeral so many other version of one yeah one we don't talk about the new one in the really funny thing about season into fleabag is just like everyone acknowledges now including TV while our bridge how essential Andrew Scott as you play the AK Moriarty too many of us who watched Sir Lock. Yeah weird very greatest in yeah. It was really cool and she when she turned to him accepting best comedy. It was like we did this because Andrew. You're Scott came in and that was cool. It was great and also you finally got to be on stage which was good so a motive. Actually I just want to say I love back. I don't need any more Brett Gelman twenty twenty between fleabag and stranger things. Yeah Ozone Lot shred amount of everything done. We're done offense. I guess it's it's really inherently offensive thing okay moving on so that was like a low and then and then I within a low below the recovered itself yeah. Just I mean it is remarkable. It's saying that is a special as fleabag actually won the emmys. We don't see actually the best. Things don't usually win awards. That's literally every awards show and fleabag winning and phoebe Waller winning for writing. It's just like wow we did it. That's great yeah so that was good good job on this one thing good Johnson. Okay Okay Hi Michelle Williams speech amazing stuff amazing stuff. This is also what happens when you practice and you prepare and she had clearly given some thought to what she wanted to say and not. Maybe she wrote it. I'm not really sure because it was definitely well-crafted and she hit her points but it was more that she had an idea and she wanted to turn this into It's a speech about equal pay which is like something. She's been crosshairs about a lot. If you remember when they did the re-shoots for I guess it was called all the money in the world it was the Getty Nassar Getty show out of it so Kevin Spacey's the Laura for Christopher plummer and they did the re shoots her fi versus Mark Wahlberg fee. Yes she took like a daily fee and Mark Wahlberg at one point five million dollars and then it became a thanks so she I used that in order to talk about a Fosse verdant. FX And the support and what happens when you actually do support of working specifically women have car work. She just like she had the stats. That's she nailed it.

So if the Oscars are looking for someone vanilla what are they going to do their ratings are gonna go down? No one's gonna watch. What what it's enough already. Kevin Hart is a perfect host. I mean, I missed Billy crystal. I think he'd be great. Although he's I think he's probably over sixty four now, but they got they got to do something because no normal people are watching these award shows, isn't that a product more of just how thinned out media was it used to be an event when you could go and watch something on television, where a bunch of celebrities were gathered, it's not anymore. "Those movies are going to get in the next two weeks kind of hampers their chances in the Oscars itself that being said I'm sort of glad stars born and Black Panther being spared from that bullshit to some extent. Okay. But I do think Black Panther and a star is born where the two movies that seemed to unite the movies that everybody went and saw with movies that people cared about. Yeah. While they were both really well done. Great. I think that if you do look at I think it's worth noting like if we're going to be reward, if it's the Oscars Golden Globes, and we have more traditional voting block. And we're going to be voting for traditional types of things. Bohemian rhapsody is extremely traditional in. It's not necessarily in the subject matter. But in terms of its more or less Perron inside roic biography Black Panthers a superhero movie, but it is so exceptional in so groundbreaking in the way that it is a superhero movie that if we're going to be considering a superhero movie traditional, which we are at this point. It certainly deserves to win stars born I don't think is groundbreaking. I just think it's a incredibly successful reinvigoration of tropes. Everybody loves uncertain. I I'm kind of stunned that that didn't that isn't the far away favorite for winning every single thing that Hollywood believes about itself to people who at least in Gog as case, I think definitely play ball with the promotional process. Yeah. And the narrative is right. Want them at the award show? You want them to go play shallow at the Oscars. You want them to have you know, a good shot at winning. And I don't know. I don't know if it's gonna happen. I'm looking at Andy, I feel like we're on our last legs. So why don't we do capital reviews of some movies that we caught up with couple days saying it out? Let's talk about big dick, dick. Yeah. Big energy. Vice Dick Cheney. Watch that. I was like fine with its portrayal of Dick Cheney, which I think was there has been some debate about whether or not it was somehow. Forgiving or made it cool to be Dick Cheney. I didn't take that at all. I did feel like because of the relentless formal invention in it. It felt like a trailer for itself. But because it never settles down, but I was not not entertained. Yeah. So that that I guess I would say that about that movie. I was disappointed in it only because it's so hyper manic and stylized that it never settles down in delivers into livers end on that. I thought it was interesting because at a McKay who's a writer director, and filmmaker producer person who admire quite a bit obviously spines succession, obviously he's made much better movies in the past like stepbrothers. I mean at one thousand percents and -serily as you should my issue with the movie is twofold, performance, just incredible. And again, I I love when it plays fast and loose eleven it plays. I love the credits. Run thirty minutes into it. My problem with it is twofold one I think that this is the same problem. I had with the big short. It seems to have contempt for the people that it wants to reach both. Of these movies have been like here. The biggest stories that you knew Knicks didn't notice and then both stories are like any never will unless I have a naked woman in a hot tub or in this case the shots. Like, you didn't notice this was happening because you you frivolous young women were at raves. Remember that part in the beginning. Do it seems sort of cheap. You know, I I don't quite get that this idea of like I'm going to educate you with fun because you do slowed otherwise be educated that that I that run to that movie. I that may be just me reacting to the other issue with it for me was just I didn't know if I bought the idea of power for power sake in it. You know, he goes from an alcoholic which at all linemen to the White House in about twelve minutes of screen time yet just because Adams gave him a stern talking to now she is a double Golden Globe nominee, and she can be very effective when necessary. Yeah. But is that really took? I was just felt like there..

"Thing with irony is that if you live your life entirely, ironically, then there's no such thing as irony then you're doing earnestly, if you tell these jokes the jokes about how we have to only say nice things about everyone at the Golden Globes. And then that's all you do. It's no longer ironic, you're doing earnestly, and this is true. Even of these, you know, every award show has awful political speeches nowadays over the last fifteen years and Christian bale gave a a truly ridiculous one last night too. That Geezer over there, Adam he say. He's gonna find somebody. You can can be absolute charisma-free and reviled by revolting. So he went Lasko be fail in. You know? Thank you thrill. The competition will be Kohner in the mouth on charisma for. What do you think Mitch McConnell next? Good. Thank you to Satan to give me Brian on how to play this role. Some people are confused hearing that because we never hear Christian bale with his actual accent, Christian bale is English. He was raised in Wales to English parents. And so that's Israel accent? And he's talking about playing Dick Cheney in the movie vice and he's calling him a charisma-free blankety blank. And he thanks Satan forgiving him inspiration to play the role something I just want to point out here in a word shows when you won Oscar Golden Globe you used to. Thank God you used to get up there. I want to thank my friends, and my family my directors on thank God for for being there. And sustaining me inspiring me. Now, you think now these people are thanking Satan, and you might say, well, he was telling a joke. Well, it's ironic. Well, it's I read this and right if you live, I honestly one hundred percent of the time than the irony isn't. Eragny any more. It's earnest, and this guy is actually getting up there and thanking Satan, you know, something has gone seriously wrong with these awards shows when you get up there and thanks Satan, by the way, just a little point on Christian bale, Christian bale was arrested in two thousand eight for domestic violence against his mother and sister, and he's going after Dick Cheney as this charisma-free blankety blank whose inspired by Satan. Maybe one should look in the mirror, maybe Mr. bail should pluck the plank out of his own eye before looking at the spec in his neighbors. I but unsurprisingly an early ratings right now, the Golden Globes show was down to a four year low maybe a decade low was down over last year. The ratings are plummeting for these awards shows and their plummeting, especially for the Oscars. You remember that blow up they've chose Kevin Hart the comedian to host the Oscars then they found that he made a gay joke ten years ago. So there was this big fake faux outrage uproar, huge Nonthaburi and the academy pre basically sold them out. And Kevin Hart decided he wasn't going to host the Oscars..
