"A comedian cartoonist Michael the adder has been fired from a publishing company in New Brunswick Canada after his depiction of trump and deceased migrants went viral on social media the drawing which was posted on to Adler's Twitter account on June twenty six a shortage from standing beside a golf cart golf club in hand looking down at the bodies of a father and daughter who drowned in the Rio Grande while trying to cross from Mexico into Texas trump asks do you mind if I play through no this is referring to the my grand father and daughter who died while attempting to cross into the United States Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez twenty five in his twenty three month old daughter and you know there were found lying face down in the Muddy Waters of the Rio Grande and this has become now one of those iconic images of the suffering of migrants everywhere this is very much similar to the boy that was found face down in the river in Europe and this is become one of those iconic pictures is probably going to live on for a very long time which does outline the plight of many of the migrants dental or announced determination from the newspaper owned by brands we can news incorporated on Twitter the highs and lows of cartooning today I was just let go from all newspapers in New Brunswick now the company has denied that he was terminated Ole for this particular image they say that his termination has nothing to do with the cartoon this is a false narrative which has emerged carelessly and recklessly on social media in fact be in I was not even offered this cartoon by Mister de adder the decision to bring it back a reader favorite great Perry was made it long before this cartoon and to go she Asians had been ongoing for weeks No Way set to roll the president of the Canadian cartoonist associations say to add or what is it fired for this cartoon which I had gone viral on social media and said that the subject of criticizing trump was taboo for the company although he has stated there was no reason given for his firing the timing was no coincidence Michael to Attar headed drawn many well documented cartoons on trump they have however systematically never been seen in the N. B. papers natural says that Brunswick news incorporated has many ties with American companies and the sensitivity of the subject probably brought about their decision to get rid of the cartoonist it has been an issue since trump took office and the president himself is an unknown quantity who punishes those who appeared to oppose him now to me it seems very likely that this is the case a criticism of trump had gone viral and had spread throughout now if a company like Brunswick news incorporated does have many contacts in the United States given the very petty wave that US president Donald Trump handles any criticism of him particularly his cold blooded indifference to the death of this father and his daughter it seems very likely to me that he would end up punishing this company or at least there is the threat of its US affiliated companies being punished in some way by the current US administration I mean this is perfectly in line with many corporate policies up not undermining many of their partners the people that they work with why a television show cannot criticize a product that sponsors that very show will be we we see here that there is a very direct conflict between a freedom of speech and and not even not even just freedom of speech but the right to criticize power especially when it is one of the so abusive as the current US president Donald Trump and the maintaining of corporate profits and this is one of those contradictions that we do see inside of capitalism that the ability to criticize power or in this case and particularly the abuses of power one directly against the profit motive which is the basis for the entire system and this is particularly disturbing to me as a Canadian who is essentially watching the US president by proxy of economic power wielding the ability to essentially sensor criticism of him in our country now I know this is a very very small compared to the trade issues with many countries including China the European Union at cetera them placing tariffs on their goods is simply for perceived injustices against the United States in comparison this is very small but it is very disturbing when you do see a foreign power demonstrating some kind of ability to censor your own media in this really does have me worried and you can catch more of the insightful analysis of chasing a room over at his channel on YouTube and I will hear from actress Sandra performing from the work of the late rebel leader Emma Goldman not just on the occasion of the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of her birth this week but foreign attention to the precursor of the cruel immigration crisis in progress right now in this country the one hundredth anniversary of the nineteen nineteen Parma raise where three thousand European immigrants including Goldman were arrested without warrants and deported for more than thirty cities simply for their left wing political views centros reading was part of Howard since voice of a people's history of the United States Emma Goldman.

they feel they have to we can blame any other country but what about our blame what country did they flee they flee the United States they fled El Salvador is is it's our fault why because they don't have a job because they are being threatened by gangs because they don't have basic things like water education health comments god come after a viral photo chilled Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez and is twenty three month old daughter Valeria lying face down in the Rio Grande Ramirez had reportedly tried to swim across the river with his wife and daughter after his family was able to request asylum in the United States photo sparked widespread criticism widespread criticism of course the trump administration's immigration pull his like is there for all the dudes dead in the Rio Grande Chuck Schumer's concern why didn't we give him the money for the love of Peter Paul and Mary you should have given him alone he would have been forced to rob the bank well the deal is there is a legal way to go to do it and there's an illegal way to do it there is a legal way to come to this country there's any legal way to come come to this country this guy I opted for the little illegal way killed himself and his daughter in the process that in our fold is is like getting the bank's fault that the guy didn't get the loan it's his fault so you go back in to fix your credit you do some other things that you need to do and then maybe get the loan but the it doesn't give you the right to come and stick a gun in my face and rob the place but this is what we're we are now treating these "Washington post a these phones the politicians were there were confiscated castro managed to secretly make recordings and take some pictures which he put on twitter i tweeted are border patrol system is broken and part of the reason it stays broken is because it's kept secret american people must see what is being carried out in their name and let's run a little audio here this is not gonna be particularly meaningful but it will give you a sense of somebody video that a castro was able to get out of the border patrol facility by make that woman hear how many you guys know she'll get a lot more now they haven't been able to slow down and we also have to make sure that wherever that is whether you are you're what would castro's doing in that video is that she also holding up a handwritten list of names of some of the women at that detention facility that he had scribbled down a he tweeted they asked us to take down their names and let everyone know they need help you also took footage of the shower facilities which he called dank and dirty a said that many people there who debate over fifteen days is 'em said that a some of the women had not received their medication including one for epilepsy members of congress comfort them comforted them when the women broke down representative alexandria cossio cortez was also one that visit but afterwards she said there's abused these facilities there's these this is i'm on their best behavior and they put them in a room with no running water and these women were being told i see bp i drink point so why all this is particularly interesting david is because the american media and therefore they american people have seen almost nothing of these facilities to this point a lawyer told the washington post paul far he of journalists had access to the detention centers at the border where children are being held in filthy conditions those centers would not exist so is this a case of the media is barred in essentially politicians are temporarily taking the role of the media yeah i mean i think that's a good way to look at it i mean i'm it's it's it's obviously a subject it's kind of hard to to wraps one's mind around as far as you know 'em in there have been journalists have been there i mean they've broken parts of the story before but you know it's a it is eight and a lot of ways as you know the sound clip you just played you know evidence events to is that you know it's a it's a visual media right i mean it's it's a it's almost necessary have video to fully rap one set around what's going on the photos is done you know have have gone a long way to help but you know i mean i it's i i'm sure there's a lot of enterprising journalists who were stymied both by their you know both by what the government's letting them do and by the by the you know strictures of of print journalism or or whatever they're working with so it's it's a it's an incredibly difficult situation that say nothing of the morality of it you know i think far he notes in his piece is that essentially all the people who are trying to report on these centers are doing it secondhand at this point journalists that is they basically call lawyers and victims advocates and immigration advocates and say what's going on what have you seen these centers and then as you say used print basically describe it and of course that was supposed to be what happened here or a with castro he was just able to smuggle pictures and video out of the center a without you know kind of around the government and give it that vibe i mean this is i think all to we should probably think of this is kind of part of a flood flood of images and all of a sudden we have begun deceive the border a most strikingly in that has me struggling for a neutral adjective here is the photo of these salvadoran migrant oscar alberto martinez ramirez and his two year old daughter of alaria.

"Hey mac is better better for you and better for America now in yesterday's durable I asked you about Nike and its decision to cancel its patriotic Betsy Ross sneakers now I know some of your saying well that's not the biggest topic in the world it's not but it's a good indication of where we're headed as a country that a major American based company not not he's always manufactured its goods outside of the United States but they're based in the United States about twenty miles from where I'm standing and they are a multi billion dollar company they're the biggest shoe company in the world the fact that they would say we're going to cancel a product we've already made we've already shipped it to the stores and we're gonna do it even though it's patriotic because of one America hating athlete former football player Colin Kaepernick who says some people won't like it well I can just about guarantee it a matter what business you're in shoes cars or anything else somebody is going to not like your product some people don't like my show believe it or not ninety five percent of you said no Nike should not have canceled its patriotic Betsy Ross sneakers and I was on the no side of that only five percent of you said yes Nike was right to cancel that glad to have you with me glad to take your calls too at eight six six a Lars that's eight six six four three nine five two seven seven and for the life of me I cannot understand why people are raising such a ruckus in the media primarily about the president's big huge spectacular fourth of July celebration planned for Washington DC complete with military vehicles things like tanks and the rest with a flyover from the airforce one the world is wrong with that I mean I've seen plenty of parades and some of them have been military parades makes you proud to see them go on by I've seen fly bys as well those are done at ball games they're done at air shows and why not have one for the fourth of July so I don't understand why people are objecting to it but there it is glad to get your calls this is the best conversation and talk journalism at eight six six a Lars that's eight six six four three nine five two seven seven emails go to talk at Lars Larsen dot com there has been a drama involving of singer by the name of Taylor swift very talented young lady it is going on between her and a couple of music tycoon scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta and it's apparently escalating she complains that she was never given a chance to buy her music well when I saw this controversy it's again one where I don't understand the beef if you go to work as a singer or performer and somebody agrees to be basically the publisher of your music there's an upside to that they take care of all the details there's a downside to that you don't make as much money as if you owned all of that independently well Swiss attorney says that Scott Borchetta name never gave Taylor swift an opportunity to buy the masters of her songs or the label out right with the check in the way that he's apparently now doing for others well almost everybody in a business like my business makes decisions how much of what you do do you want to own there are people and I'm one of them who work for a company and you they own the product the you do now they don't decide what I say I've never had a boss in my career tell me what I had to say or for bid me from saying anything but if you said well who owns all the interviews that you've done I don't know if you want to negotiate and say all right I would like to own all of my interviews somebody in Taylor swift's position if she had said to her music publishers I'm going to allow you to publish my music but I want to own the masters I want to own the rights to all that music well she could have done that but she would have made less money I have a feeling that early on in her career she made the decision I want a big paycheck because of the time she was not the very very wealthy performer she is today now that she is the wealthy performer she says I'd like to have had my cake and eat it too and that one doesn't make sense to me by the way I want to mention this as well while the mainstream media is blaming Donald Trump for everything under the sun including bad treatment of children who flooded illegally in our country along with adults who claim to be their parents check this out for a little bit of change of pace the president of El Salvador where many of those seeking asylum or refugee status have come from says his country is to blame for the deaths of that Salvadoran man and his daughter you probably saw the picture of them laying face down in the mud on the Mexico side of the Rio Grande river he said people don't flee their homes because they want to they flee their homes because they feel that they have to we can blame any other country but what about our blame what country did they flee did they flee the United States they fled El Salvador those are the words of the president of al Saud or he says it is our fault why because they don't have a job because they're being threatened by gangs because they don't have basic things like water and education and health his comments came after that viral photo showed Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez and his twenty three month old daughter Valeriya lying face down in the Rio Grande Romero's had reportedly tried to swim across the river with his wife and daughter after his family was unable to request asylum in the United States that's from the hill dot com and actually that's a misstatement of the facts his family was able to request asylum they decided they didn't want to go through the process that they would have had to go through to end to go to a port of entry and file the paperwork necessary to claim asylum the fact that they didn't want to do it that way and decided to take a really dangerous car a path into the United States was a foolish decision it turned out to be a deadly decision but when the reporters at the hill dot com say because they couldn't claim asylum they could claim asylum they chose not to and chose to try to get the quick way into the United States which also happened to be the illegal way you know Thomas Jefferson has been accused of fathering a child of a slave but is that the real deal or just an.

"Ten week nights free she age yet joining us really appreciate Max Reimer filling in for me last week Wednesday Thursday Friday I binged though shows today as I was driving around for the day job and I absolutely fantastic content from Max really appreciate Brianne holding his hand to making sure that he stayed on the rails that's what I'm here for you know really appreciate that as well and of course keep Christiansen you guys should check out their podcast keeping maxim the world and keeping Max dot com was in on Thursday and I can always provides deep meaningful insights and actually want to touch back upon I this just occurred to me I didn't have an analyst for tonight but at some point tonight I want to touch back upon the conversation that they had on Thursday regarding a monumental and little reported decision that came out of the Supreme Court that has the potential Los shattering consequences I don't think that's an overstatement in terms of shattering president establishing a new president that if taken seriously basically means that we don't have the rule of law anymore in the United States of America which should come as no surprise these days because that's been the the tendency and the draft for quite sometime now six five one nine eight nine five eight five five the number to join us if you feel so inclined throughout the evening tonight brand taking those calls and producing the show so I want to spend some time talking about empathy empathy has there been quite a few calls for empathy as of late the left would like to claim a monopoly on empathy and compassion and common decency and feeling a motion sympathy they alone feel your pain they loan relate to the plight of the oppressed they alone understand the emotional stakes of any given situation in any given issue most especially right now and the current discourse the crisis at the southern border of the United States the border with Mexico as exemplified in the photo which you have no doubt seen at this point I know I have of the drowned father and mother or father and daughter I should correct myself who had crossed the Rio Grande unsuccessfully and ended up washed up on shore it is a graphic photo it is a heart tugging photo it elicits empathy and sympathy and sadness and a sense of of despair a certain kind and it should those are normal natural human reactions but we're told if you're conservative if you're somebody who you know forget about the the political ideological labels if you're somebody who thinks that BEA border ought to exist as such if you're somebody who thinks that immigration should have some kind of restriction at all and that the laws regarding who gets to come over into our country who gets across the border ought to be enforced vigorously and equitably another words they should be applied equally to all comers not just to a few not just to some they should be enforced as written if you believe that or anything remotely close to it you are on in prophetic you are apparently on move this imagery of a drowned father and daughter a year in human you're on feeling your I'm caring this is what you're meant to believe I want to spend some time in our first second tonight examining the the premise and the modus operandi I am the scheme to be quite Frank about it that is being employed here because very common on the left and those of us on the right to have become to a large degree desensitized to it desensitized to the point where we often do exhibit a certain degree of stoicism in the face of imagery which should properly react or or trigger some amount of emotional display because we're so used to the game that's being played but I think we need to spend some time actually addressing addressing the reaction that we have that we ought to have and how that reaction how are motions connect to our action because with the left is telling us the purpose that they're operating under is you should feel empathetic and because you feel empathetic therefore you should adopt their policy positions does that fly does that flow rationally and logically or even on motion only from any any sort of argument that's ever been articulated or is it just a rhetorical Blodgett that utilized to beat you over the head beat you into submission get you to shut up and move over in order to make room for their agenda I think you know where I stand on this let's look at a a couple of examples here of the way this has played out first of all regarding that particular photo from USA today in my grandfather and his twenty three month old daughter who drowned in the Rio Grande river in Mexico has written nude outrage the photo has over the immigration debate and spark debate over the graphic nature of the photo itself the image taken by journalist Julia did Duke our live Duke and showing Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez and his daughter ellaria deceased and face down in a muddy river bank has sparked visceral responses on social media and I would hope so it is a visceral image it is a tragic image it should properly if locomotion the question is what do we do with that emotion I want to dig into here later a of more recent report coming out at the Washington post several democratic members of the house made a stoned trip to el Paso and Clint Texas to immigration detention centers and claim to have discovered all sorts of horrific conditions I want to address this in more depth later as it relates to the point that I'm trying to make here in the first segment but suffice it to say the rhetoric is dialed up and then of course you have democratic candidate for president Pete to judge the south bend Indiana mayor during the second debate on Thursday according to the Daily wire he excoriated members of the Republican Party who claimed the mantle of Christianity but whose ideology and policies on border issues allegedly do not comport with such values and this is what he had to say is that the Republican Party likes to cloak itself in the language of religion now our party the Democrats doesn't talk as much about that largely for very good reason which is that we are committed to the separation of church and state and we stand for people of any religion and people of no religion but we should call up pucker seat when we see it and for a party that associates itself with Christianity the Republicans to say that it is okay to suggested that god would smile on the division of families at the hands of federal agents that god would condone putting children in cages has lost all claim to ever use religious language again there was people to judge in the second democratic presidential debate last week and this leads to the first point that I want to make regarding the emotional appeals of the left which is the in this case end this harkens back to my in my dream I mean if you will of the mirror universe where whatever you hear the left say the opposite in one form or another is typically true in this case but a judge accuses Republicans and conservatives of hypocrisy and in doing so demonstrates his own personally his whole Parker see and that of his party and that of the left because how here you particularly from the premise of Christianity and faith and belief in god after conservatives for not caring about children while at the same time openly and enthusiastically supporting the murder of the unborn indeed sometimes maybe even if they're a little bit bored you're okay with that I'm sorry Sir but you get in no way opportunity you get no allowance to speak on behalf of god and Christianity a morality and the children when you hold that position your talk about hypocrisy look in the mirror Sir and this is this is the first point I want to make regarding these emotional appeals is that the the the the first thing we should be asking ourselves is how is what we are being accused of true of the person who is making the accusation because it always is it always is when they call you a bigot they're a big to find out how ask yourself how when they call you a hypocrite find out how they're hypocrite because they always are you just got to dig a little bit got scratched just beneath the surface to find it and the use of these emotional appeals to to the extent that they're trying to utilize them to make you feel bad it's because here's the irony they're appealing to your motion because they know you have it right this is the great irony the calling somebody a bigot if you actually encountered a genuine bigot origin you and racist and your your approach to him is your will resist what why would he care no actually go check them out on you too the ones that haven't been deployed formed because they have an ascended to enough influence because they rarely ever do did these people care about being called racists the Richard Spencer is of the world is a call about the care about being called a bigot he embraces it he loves it he views it as hello he'll go on to justify his position to be like yeah but I believe that because X. Y. and Z. they'll give you an argument right the only people that type of accusation is effective against is people who aren't racist who aren't bigoted who actually care about the opposing values who care about tolerance and inclusion real tolerance and real inclusion who care about a society where people are judged according to the content of their character not the color of their skin take it efforts and embraced principles and pregnancies which are inherently anti racist it's only good people who get offended when you call their character into question bad people don't care and similarly when you make an emotional appeal on the level of you you see this photo of a deceased father and his daughter and you are you are you feeling in response to this photo if that were true then the attack wouldn't work if that were true then the attack would be absurd it would be absurd to try to shame somebody into feeling something if they legitimately didn't and so here's the question we need to explore accepting for the sake of argument that we all do have a proper empathetic emotional reaction to this imagery what's really going on here what what's the proper way to utilize into process that emotion and what is the left trying to achieve with their appeals six five one nine eight nine five eight five five closing argument minus water out since once the new stock eleven thirty one three five FM twenty Disney stock dot com we'd like you to like box the Twin Cities news talk dot com and.

"Not everyone will your pro. More that music, as well as discussing the coconut and all its many uses in this half an hour with me throughout the program. Stacey Hillyard coca US born, political commentator consultant, former Republican party activists, now, based in London and Bobby Phillips director of communications for the elephant protection initiative for international television and radio. Correspondent and you got to be a working on a book. The moment about the Benning Brahms's tell us about those and what they are. And what matters just know, these are fantastic metal sculptures costs that come out of the ancient civilization of Benin. This is based around Benning city in modern day Nigeria, so confusing, the not from the country, that is their public of Benning next door. The story is one of colonial loot in eighteen ninety seven. Not that long ago. The British invaded the Benning empire. Burnt it to the ground and carted off all its treasures. And when they bought them back here to London at the end of the nineteenth century, these caused a sensation because the common assumption in Britain was that they had taken over a kingdom of barbarians people with no history, and they bought back, these works of art, and the was astonished when they were displayed in the British Museum, and what was intriguing was self? Evidently, many of the best ones were four or five hundred years old because they depicted early Portuguese soldiers trading with the kingdom of any back in the fifteenth century. So it was a great moment. If you like the scales federal 'they is of some Europeans, these AVI Africa and its history, phosphoric more than one hundred years, the best of these treasures are still here in the British Museum, many are in the Berlin museum. Other other museums across Europe. And there is an ongoing debate, which we've seen mirrored around, of course, other artifacts, the elegant marbles, all sorts of treasures from Ethiopian Asia, should these objects stay in great museums in Britain in Europe where they're seen by millions of people or should they be returned to the countries. All the civilizations from whence. They were stolen where does that debate stand just now. Well, the debate has been stock for a long time, but something rather dramatic and extraordinary is happening. So just next week in Benin City, the will be a gathering of what has become known as the Benning dialogue group, which brings together leading European museums, including the British Museum, and the local authorities in Nigeria and the Oba the king of Benin, who is a direct descendant of the man who was overthrown in eighteen ninety seven. And whilst European museums have been reluctant to deal with the Nigerian federal government on this issue. And it is fair to say that Nigerians federal government museums. Do not have a happy history on. Fortunately, there is a proposal to build a new locally funded museum on simplifying matters little bit. But that's where we are. And the leading European museum to are under pressure. For all sorts of reasons multi-culturalism at home changing moral expectations, and all the rest of it, they're saying or right, we're not going to give these back, but there are enough of us, and we have enough of these objects that we will lend you many hundreds and if so many of us lend enough back. The will be a permanent connec collection that they're in Nigeria. Now, some people say, this is not, not acceptable. A compromise there, the very idea of lending back in -sulting others saying. You know what? Let's be pragmatic. It's not so bad. Some of these treasures being in Europe. It elevates, our reputation millions of people have seen them here, and then we can also bring some back and that those of the debates that we taking place inventing city in Nigeria just next week. We will turn to a photograph this week shocked view United States and indeed the rest of the world. Depicts a man from El Salvador Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez. And he's baby daughter, Valeria lying face down dead. In shallow water. They drowned in the Rio Grande on the board of twin Mexico and the US state of Texas, the Mexican journalist Julia, Luke took the photo. I am hoping that because of this photo someone will do something, and we don't have to continue taking photos of drowned migrants in the river, said that this voter forces, the governments to think..

"Okay Lee Matthews. Happy Friday, by the way. i shared a mean late yesterday afternoon it was a photograph looks like it was taken in europe and i put it up on social media it's on my facebook page if you wanna see it but it's a diesel van pulling a gas generator on a trailer and the gas generator is charging an electric car future so bright i gotta wear shades but you know that it reminded me of when you drive around oklahoma and you see the wind farms and then down below the wind farms you see the pump jack and you realize that pump jack is putting out more energy than those wind farms are guy writes the pictures capped off all those batteries to be disposed of as well lamar writes wait a minute the batteries don't last forever they have to be charged and then jacqueline rights makes me tick off when you go downtown and the closest parking spaces in the public buildings are taken up by eko charging spaces if they're supposed to be so eko then why are they not making people walking from the farthest place and saving more parking for our aging population and more mobility issues my sister who had a stroke has to park farther away from the civic center because of eko charging that's closer and taking up that as closer than the handicapped parking spaces go figure so there's that too and right you are jacqueline and yesterday i broke this story and you always got to ask the question behind the question the story behind the story we've seen the horrible picture all week long the dead father and daughter evidently crossing the border and drowned Well, the story that I broke yesterday, and I shared it with you. goes behind the scenes it's from the daily caller they actually talked to family members of this man and his daughter he was from el salvador and his name was oscar alberto martinez ramirez his daughter's name was valorea he worked at the papa john's pizza in san salvador el salvador his wife worked at a chinese restaurant in sense album or el salvador and they had decided as a family To quit their jobs. go to the u._s. work for a few years and earn enough money to come back to sons alva- for and build a house well when they got to mexico they found that their asylum case was going to take up to a week to be heard by american officials so that's when they decided to alex's swim the border and that's what they did and i brought this up yesterday and said once again this underscores what i've been saying for the past ten years on this program we do not have an immigration problem we do not need to revise our immigration laws what we have is a migraine problem people who wish to immigrate to the united states have illegal path and they're following it they all assimilate into the culture what we have is a migration problem people who have no intention of becoming citizens or to assimilate into our culture and this story sheds more light on the tragic picture from earlier this week of oscar alberto martinez ramirez and his daughter valorea swept away while trying to cross the rio grande river into texas they weren't fleeing persecution they did try to enter illegally he did endanger his daughter's life trying to do something illegal and they had no intention of staying in the u._s. they wanted to work for a couple of years earn some money and then go back to their home country and underscores exactly what i'm saying you always have to look for the question behind the question and you have to look for the story behind the story mike on social media says lee what you're saying seems more and more accurate i still can't understand why people seem to believe that asking others to assimilate into our culture is wrong donna Rights. That's to more. I won't have to support. And that's a little harsh Donna. someone calling themselves dust bowl downpour say leeann noticed the photograph on your story on the on the website one side of the rio grande is green and cared for the other side is barren and dry it seems obvious that those on the barren side could make it green if they would apply their efforts to it and you're right about that so it's all pretty poignant all the way around look at it and my facebook page leigh matthews if i'm not a friend of yours friend meal fringe you back but not if you'll honghong and.

"Really? The border crisis and viral photo biblical responses to the needs of children. This is Dr Jim Dennison's, the daily article podcast for Thursday, June twenty-seventh twenty nineteen. It is a photo that breaks your heart Oscar Alberto Martinez. Ramirez died with his twenty three month old daughter Valeria as they tried to cross from Mexico to the US. The New York Times describes them the father and daughter lie face down in the muddy water along the banks of the Rio Grande her tiny head tucked inside his tee-shirt an arm draped over his neck, their family had reportedly fled from oppressive poverty in El Salvador and had been waiting for two months in a migrant camp in Matamoros for an appointment to receive political asylum, in the US, according to Oscar's wife to NIA family decided to cross the Rio Grande out of desperation, according to the journalist who later took their picture. Oscar crossed the Rio Grande with his daughter, then turn to get his wife Valeria psalms swimming away in jumped after him, he clung to her, but a strong current drown them. The border crisis continues to dominate the news today. The house passed a four point five billion dollar emergency border aid package this week, mostly along party lines. However, Republicans argued that it contains inadequate funding in too many restrictions on the power of immigration agencies. The Senate than adopted at four point five billion dollar bipartisan aid package yesterday after voting down the house version, given the political divisiveness in vitriol associated with the border crisis. I looked for a respected authority, who's reporting on this issue can be trusted as objective and biblical. And so I turned to the evangelical immigration table, headed by the president of the national association of gels and the president overall vision, US among others. It is supported by prominent pastors including Matt Chandler. Tony evans. Jack Graham, max lucado in southern Baptist convention, president JD Greer. The T website has posted a very informative paper by Kristen right Taylor. Titled border crisis wanna one answering your biggest questions about the immigration crisis at the border. I'll summarize it. Here. But encourage you to read it in its entirety according to write Taylor. The current mass migration is coming primarily from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, these families traveled through Mexico to several key cities along the US border, many from Guatemala. Seek to escape crushing poverty, and lack of opportunities. However, most from El Salvador Honduras are fleeing gang violence, many gangs in these countries are more powerful than the police or politicians. The begin recruiting children around the ages of nine to twelve forcing young boys to be drug dealers and young girls to be girlfriends if the children and their families refuse they are targeted and killed. These gangs are well, coordinated across cities and countries. Many of those fleeing are not safe unless they escape Central America in Mexico altogether. There's not space in today's daily article to debate the divisive issue of illegal immigration for a larger discussion of this subject. Please see chapter six in my book, seven critical issues. The state of our nation available for the kindle on Amazon, rather my purposes to invite us to respond practically and. Personally to this crisis. Right. Taylor. Writes, perhaps, the single biggest takeaway from our border. Encounter has been the church is the hope for this immigration crisis more than the government more than policies more than economy. The church is the answer to the great need not only driving people from their homes. But greeting people at the borders, she notes that churches and pastors in Central America are faithfully ministering to their communities to help bring transformation, but often feel invisible to the US American church and are hungry for our partnership, and our prayers, she didn't observes the churches along the borders are rising to meet the migrant families, tending to their physical needs, praying with them loving them treating them with care. What can we do to help right Taylor again? We can send money. Yes, but we can also send emails make phone calls and pray. We can let them know that we see them, we hear them, and we are standing in solidarity with them, as they carry for the kingdom of heaven here on earth by ministering to the vulnerable families caught in this immigration crisis. The at your website lists ways to support ministry to migrants. Along the us Mexico border Denison ministries will be making a significant financial commitment to one such ministry. I encourage you to consult their list or identify another ministry, God would lead you to support. In addition, we can look for ways to minister to children at risk where we live, according to the National Center for children in poverty twenty one percent of all children in the US live and families with incomes below the federal poverty threshold churches can become involved directly and intentionally ministry to immigrants into other at risk children in their communities, and we can all pray the one who laid his hands on children in prayed for them now considers us his hands. He calls us to pray passionately for their welfare and future. And he invites us to follow the spirit's guidance in answering our prayers with our compassion. What Chuck swindle said to parents is true of us all each day of our lives. We make deposits in the memory banks of our children. What deposits will you make today? Would you consider sharing this podcast with a friend family member or coworker in order to help build a community of culture changing Christians? Thank you for listening to the daily Arctic podcast today.

two year old daughter valeria the they they drown coming over to america this is it's so riveting and you're talking to a guy that has dedicated most of his life to helping at risk children i don't know how we let that happen i don't know why the democrats they're they're going to blame this administration the democrats should be ashamed of themselves because the this president has been saying we have to do something barack obama has been saying we've got to do something you just can't let illegal aliens in what can we do barack obama was all over it this president saying exact same thing and they're fighting tooth and nail and when you fight and you don't want to listen to the president help out the president and say president trump here we'll give you this let's let's deal with this in a humane way if you don't step it up to to to work with the administration the way the democrats are fighting this ministration they in my opinion a more responsible for the deaths of the ramirez family right there halsall heartbreaking heartbreaking to say and a whole is telling me parents to take their kids across the border who took who told rest his soul who told oscar out berta ramirez who told him a brignone he wasn't even two years old valeria she wasn't even two years old and you go into a river and swim across it it was from a salvatore believe and and now into this and this where's the u._n. where's the united nations don't get me started i haven't heard the u._n. mentioned list maybe i missed it do the united nations get the on doors they should get the doors if people are running out to the degree that the running out of honduras and salvatore in the cities in central america south america kick down there and fix that problem you know it's funny in the it's not funny it's interesting in the inner cities when you know all the italians were newark you know and there's a big jewish community you know like philip roth section of newark i call it and they and then all of a sudden it it seemed to change whatever everybody moved out but they had the ability to get out there the -bility to go up bloomfield avenue their ability to go out you know if he didn't like what was happening in brooklyn back in the day you went to staten island then made your way to jersey right in our country we have placed here these folks have no place to go and i always say this and i say this now about what's going on with illegal aliens within the inner cities that cory booker was talking about take care of the problem where emanates from any inner cities and it could be in on doors in l. set of salvador and all south america in mexico take care of the problem there and they won't wanna come here but don't blame the president for this horrific horrific debt and you've got this got to be some kind of message that goes out to the parents as bad as you wanna come to america you can't put a child's life at risk like that would you ever do that hey give us a call 'cause you know best eight seven seven nine seven twenty nine ninety nine we love when you check in with us okay because you always have the best ideas meantime the president is in japan is a d twenty the summit and it's interesting to watch i've been watching tucker carlson on on fox and he so it's kind of a so i used to work but it's it's kind of fun to watch tucker go wow look at your pan look i told you this before i met a party saturday night live on years ago and and it was after we started to start doing okay and the show because we had to replace original cast i told you this story many times and it was an impossible task and then i remember we had a party and john belushi was at the party and he would always come around john would rest his brilliant brilliant soul and and he and then he aykroyd went to japan as the blues brothers the blues brothers toured japan so now i'm a kid and john's at the record player yes there was a record players playing some albums and i went to i went i you know i was so in awe of john belushi bed you know what i mean like a kid so i said so how how japan john you say how japan and he goes to japanese man john ferrick said he goes to the master race It's. wow man what does david but not to be that dramatic but i told you this before then years later to do a film and for me to go over to japan tour all of japan promoting dead-heat remember that movie that he did very well in japan plays i know i know but but the japanese are it is a stellar beautiful country and the people of beautiful so it's great to everything tucker said from the bullet train to to the crime rate to the politeness of japan is really very very interesting but it's a much smaller country than we are so i i like i like america i'll be staying here so we got we coming up in about an hour i wanna hear what you got to say about the debates are you feeling are you feeling anybody breaking out i don't see anybody i don't hear anything you know and we'll get into an eight seven seven nine seven twenty nine ninety nine because a lot of news to get into as well the muller coming in about you about july seventeenth yes mall is going to now i wanna see you don't mullets is going to be an overload he got subpoenas i don't even know if he wants to be there but did the democrats know that this guy's gonna be i mean he's gonna be attacked by the republicans down there he's not going to go up and be able to say what's happening but it's embarrassing to me to walk these streets to watch the mayor de blasio for president to watch jerrold nadler go after the president again again and he doesn't even care about what's happening and his home stay he doesn't eat they just don't care oh they they're back on that track let's help the people that are coming over here that are drowning when they come over here let's go to the let's go go to the u._n. and say you have to take care of where the problem emanates from in honduras and el salvador and around central and south america all time to step up and all here's talk a lot of noise and i don't see one that could be donald j trump nineteen minutes after six o'clock on a._m..

"And scott robbins best friends making sense of it all get it and having some fun lighten fresh is is is the markley van camp and robin joe markley band camp and robin show thanks so much for being here i'm jamie markley that's david van camp there scott robbins okay this photo is getting a lot of attention david yeah i it's heartbreaking it is it's photo from the border on the bank of the rio grande where man and his daughter are laying there dead oscar alberto martinez ramirez was coming out from el salvador with his family and while he was on the mexican side of the border he got frustrated with how long it was taking to get processed so he decided to swim across the river with his twenty three month old daughter they made it across he dropped her off and then he started swimming back to his wife the girl that knows going on all she saw was her dad leaving her so she got back into the water and the current wound up sweeping both of them away and they drowned and it's absolutely heartbreaking in a reminder of how perilous that journey can be that being said now you have democrats jumping all over there saying well this is on trump's head because no one else has ever died making this journey trying to get into the country before donald trump was president apparently i don't understand what the take is we've been talking about these types of stories for now fourteen years this is not a new issue it's been around for a long time and yes it's heartbreaking but i find that very rich that they're blaming president when you have these people in congress that have known about this problem for as long as they have have and especially in the last few months talking about a crisis at the border of humanitarian and a security crisis because so many people are pouring in record numbers but no one wants to do anything about it and then you see the heartbreaking picture that's on trump that's on the republicans even though the democrats have said this is a manufactured crisis there's no real problem at the border until they can try to capitalize on it right and both sides have done this kind of b. s. yeah i the years i think look it's it's not one person or one political parties fault that these two people are dead right i i'm with you there you can't really put that on any individual in america because at the end of the day dad made a decision yeah right exactly that's the other parts of swim across the river and you know you can you could criticize that all of that stuff but at the same time like you said when we've been kicking this this can down the road time and time again for years and years and now you have a democratic party that wants to send the message that if you show up especially with a kid you're going to get into the country that s heritable message you are telling people take these risks and gross about it you know what so gross about it and we all know this is that they pretend to care about people oh wait it's just a future voting block i mean did you hear chuck schumer was on the senate floor today talking about it okay chuck president trump i want to to look at this photo disguise these are not drug dealers or vagrants or criminals they are people simply fleeing a horrible situation in their home country for a better life okay unbelievable there's a lot of different ways you can take that and again the dad was frustrated with how long it was taking listen i don't know what it's like to be in that guy shoes the father Okay. I'm not gonna pretend to. But he did make a decision at that point in time. and to frame it the way freaking chuck schumer just did is so disingenuous and wrong well exploitive absolutely it's it's exploitive i still that's all these politicians man no shame i still yet to hear one proposal from the democratic party on how this problem is solved now that we can all agree there's a problem that it's not a manufactured crisis what is your solution to the problem i know what the problem is well dude and i don't even his verbally you'd think the wall is evil right yes that wall prevents this from happening the wall and if you know but i don't i don't know what their solution it i keep hearing him he amer on about how inhumane it is and how awful it is and kids in cages and separation of families i've yet to hear one of these dopes have any other solution to what's going on how do we solve it if all of these ideas are bad and immoral give me something that you have come up with open borders if that's what it is then admit that's what it is and run with it there's only part of the party that will do that and good luck with that by the way in the general election go ahead though if that's what you believe at least then i can walk away and go well there for open borders right now i don't know what your four i certainly know what you're against i have no idea what you're for angry guy wednesday special off the mark van kampen to continually deal with this the inhumanity and the torturing and the prison whatever that gulags that were running and all this garbage kids sleeping at night with no pillows and no soap and okay if it's humanitarian situation how do we fix it how do we fix it here's the problem the problem is this this this and this what solution i don't know but i can criticize the problem well the solution from democrats right now is to prevent more beds from being shipped down there yeah exactly because they're going after excuse me they're going after wayfair now Okay. "They're protesting a business deal between their company and a government contractor that furnishes detention centers including one in texas that holds thousands of kids twitter account named away fair walkout says it wants the company to cut ties with the contractor over what they call the mistreatment of thousands of migrants seeking asylum and it's w._b._z.'s james row haas i'm nicole davis i'd like to see it a little bit maybe more right down the middle maybe you can realize that the truth is in the middle now back to everybody's favourite middleman in the middle on a._m. six eighty wer geoff diehl is with me today it's a wednesday and deal is here off of suspension yeah self imposed it wasn't really suspension he lost a pun off to me there has to be some something loser the winner gets the glory the loser asked to do something and that was you had to sit out a couple of weeks but you're back no pun off today by the way that's good news for you although in the next hour ten democrats are going to debate and i at nine o'clock and deal and i thought we would try and guess what the walkout music would be for each and every of these ten candidates you'll get to judge which one of us did a better job with our list we'll do that in a two o'clock hour i i want to remind you the walkout we're not done with it even though we're done sort of discussing it for now it's supposed to happen at one thirty kim tunnicliffe from our brothers station sister station w._b._z. is there in copley square so we will check in with her because i'm curious to know what the turnout is somebody on our text line says v. so i got a cousin that works there and whether this is true or not i don't know but i'm just reading the text it's a nine seven eight i got a cousin that works there and she says her whole department doesn't want to leave for lunch so that they don't get confused as being associated with this i'm not that's totally where ordering in right we're getting seven eleven non absolutely doing pizza like you're not stepping out i agree with that totally i wanna know what the turnout is and then are there other people that have nothing to do with wayfair but show up this is one of the things i want kim tunnicliffe to do like are somebody has to do like good reporting here what department do you work in here wayfair no no i'm from cambridge i'm just supporting them because i have a feeling they're going to bring in a lot of people here to make it look like a huge protest but how many of them are actually wayfair employee's how about internally at the wayfair offices somebody's still their desk when everybody else is walking out i just have to be here i'm expecting an important call for some who they don't want to be in that walked absolutely well it could also be like you saw the women's world cup thing the other day the wing party on city all plaza there was a giant screen there and there was like people walking out of the tea that looked up in sarah screen but there was nobody at the viewing party is that what this walkouts going to be all sorts of hype and talk but then nobody's there or is there going to be thousands of people walking out of this company at one thirty We'll see. i don't know have you seen the phone do you think arco employees are gonna walk out do we have to man the phones ourselves you will see if lightning leaves solidarity don't think she's going we'll see so i think we've all seen the photo right by now osco oscar ramirez i think is his name these a migrant where told he's a migrant and he had a twenty three month old daughter by the name of valeria and there's this picture it's the you know it's one of these pictures right like the children just decide with a napalm on you know being burned by napalm you know or this time cover the girl looking up at the kid and trump separating them and we found out that that was a fake photo but whatever not accurate photo soon doesn't look to be no this one looks for false or anything like that But I think that here's my view on this. the story is this right so these these this father and daughter or from el salvador i'm looking at it over geoff diehl shoulder on t._v. as we speak they have like multiple angles of it rather than get them out of the water somebody went to great pains taken number of photos police officer that was actually dying on the floor and people were facebook live ing him bleeding out i mean that's that's the society we're living in it's an awful picture he's got the it appears that the girls arm is actually around her father's head he had put her inside he shirt presumably cover liens on his back kind of like almost backpack type of thing i'm guessing or in front i don't know but regardless they're lying side by side and it's an awful photo there is no two ways around it it's horrific to see a father and a daughter dead like that awful bone the back story on it is the wife there is a wife involved here and she was with them They came up from El Salvador and came up through Mexico and had gotten to the border, they were then being held in a. in a facility no one saying concentration camp for a mexican facility it's just they were being held in a processing facility is the words that i keep hearing and they'd been there for a month and the father this guy oscar alberto martinez ramirez at enough he wants a silom in the united states and so at night so the story goes at night he grabbed the daughter in made a run for it or swim for it in and nobody heard from him for a couple of days until their bodies washed up and the mother there's a picture of the mother like looking over in seeing the bodies like oh my god that's my husband and my daughter it's an awful photo all of this is awful So the question is. what is this a game changer is like you start your d- seth moulton tweet out kurt at tony tweeted out a lot of the usual suspects but this is the image of our failed immigration policy right i mean we always have to find somebody to blame there's always going to be someone who who's faulted is that this happened right in this kid look on c._n._n. right now so briana keeler is talking about this story and she's she's tearing up it shows the peril of trying to get to this country she's crying as she's talking about this i get the emotions of it but right but obviously for politics is becomes fodder for who's to blame for what happened and for the entire campaign of two thousand sixteen trump said we need to close the border build the wall stop allowing people to come across illegally one of the things i said during my senate campaign was because i went to el paso in town in our east of there and saw where the gaps are i saw the rio grande river i said what we need to do is make sure the walls built so we don't have people tempted to risk their lives the lives of their children by coming across and so you know democrats and said no trump the building the wall is inhumane it doesn't allow refugees to come here which is not true they could come through the checkpoints declare to border security that there there is a refugee and then go through the process of a court hearing and make sure that they are here for the right reasons but truthfully that's not why democrats want to keep that border porous now cynically everybody says oh you're just saying they want people to come in for the vote you know whether that's the case or not what we're doing is not working in the evidence is clear with that picture of a father and daughter drowned in the water somebody's gotta take responsibility all the democrats seem to do is say trump is at fault why don't they look in the mirror and say look we just had a bill that went through few a few billion dollars actually in four democrats by the way voted against it your usual suspects a._f._c. presley ilhan omar and i can't think of the fourth but anyway the the usual suspects voted against it because they're just trying to slap in the face everybody who is actually trying to solve this problem and look i think that it's going to be a debate topic tonight for sure it's gonna be a topic that continues on through the twenty twenty election but quite honestly i don't know why congress keeps kicking the can down the road and then innocent lives but here's the thing trump has a problem here like c._n._n. can't show this photo often and i get it it's a powerful image it's thanks crying like i think my wife would not look at two specialist night i told her the story she said oh my god i saw she i don't wanna see it i don't wanna see it this is a moving image it's a tough image here here's my it's a failure it it's it's evidence of a failure and whose failure is I. stadion can't be trump he said build the wall so people aren't tempted to do this democrats are saying no but let's understand what happened like the new york times headline on it is the story behind the photo of the two migrants well let me tell you the story of it tell me where i'm wrong on this there is a policy in place the policy is this when you are seeking asylum from your country meaning i got dangerous there i probably could die i want to be protected you don't get to pick the country you go to united states what international law is all these countries have signed this agreement you go to the next country that you can if they offer you asylum that's it From L. Salvador you go to Mexico. the agreement that trump's struck with the mexican government is you offer these guys asylum these caravans that are coming you the mexican government agreed to that the mexican government has offered these people asylum now i don't know the particulars in this case but i don't know why he wouldn't have qualified for silom in mexico i'm almost positive he did qualify and was offered it what that means is he has no claim to asylum in the united states nor does his daughter so what was he doing jumping in the rio grande because even if he gets across the border he's not getting asylum here the international law that we signed in that mexico signed in that el salvador's i that everybody understands is the law is his asylum claim is with mexico mexico had offered him asylum there is nothing for him here in the united states everything you're saying is correct however what's on paper isn't what really happens in the real world and if anybody else ultimately makes it across that border into the u._s. they are in they claim asylum they are given a court hearing they disappear into the night and they can't be what you want like so i know these are going to rant and rave about this tonight but there are his story to me isn't a failure of the system it's a failure of his understanding of the system and it's he doesn't care what the system is exactly that's it so i don't know how what's on due to stop this we've told you do not come here we've made that clear and we have a system in place to protect you if you were really worried about your livelihood you're in mexico now but he says no i'm going to the united states doesn't go with the wife by the way takes the daughter presumably they said you go i'll meet you would another point whatever but let's see how this goes whatever it's like you reverse that woman from guatemala that came with her child gary at the guy behind yeah and i don't know if you can't swim or if he just misjudged the river or tonight i don't know what happened i if you've ever tried to swim with with the child on your back or on your front that's that's very difficult i don't know how this guy thought he was going to do this and tragically he didn't do it and this this couldn't have ended worse but but what how i'm asking this legitimately now now i sound like biden but two things every question i ask is legitimate but how do you stop this things build the wall i know it sounds ridiculous and if it's not physically a wall it's the personnel or the drones or the what fence whatever it's going to be the keep somebody from being tempted to come across a number to stop having a congress dominated by democrats that are saying we're not gonna build a wall we're not we're gonna we want everybody to come here we want dreamers we want asylum seekers to come here everybody understands that people want to come here there's a wait list and for asylum seekers you have a court hearing but the the law isn't being filed but democrats keep saying just keep coming don't ignore trump ignore press a texture has an issue with the photo because there's something else in the photo that hasn't been pointed out yet and i do want to ask this too is this photo an accurate representation of what it appears to be in the reason why i ask that is we have had multiple cases including the one that you just reference that the child looking up to the mother and time magazine saying there's this is what's going on there being separated and it turned out they weren't separated it was a it wasn't actual mother and daughter but they weren't separated the story was false and actually cropped the photo so right he was looking up at what was supposed to be trump i mean that was super imposable he's really looking up i was a police officer who was questioning the mother about what was going on and then they were taken together right is this photo accurate one to what is the story here three what can be done about this and how does this play out do the dem's use this to gain headway in does it gain headway we'll talk about all of that with you six one seven two six sixty eight sixty v with deal you're in the middle and our kale.

"The beltway transiting to california tomorrow i'll be off but then i'll be back to review the debates with you on friday here to give us the preview of the debate jake sherman of politico playbook fame he and anna palmer also the authors of the wonderful new book the hill to die on which we talked about extensively but if you haven't got a help diane you need to go get the hilton diane to get ready for everything that is coming up in in debate land today are you staying in d._c. to watch it from a far i'll be watching it from hotel room i'm staying in d._c. because i figured i could if i was going to watch a media room i might as well watch in the comfort of my own home there is one thousand percent no reason to go unless you have to do talking head t._v. or participate in it i'm one hundred percent with you the only time you go is when there's a football game in front of you now jake your colleague before we go to the debate itself your colleague tim alberta politico magazine conceived and executed a brilliant pace he got four campaign managers from the republican side including danny diaz is one of the most interesting people in politics and sat them down over cigars and few few adult beverages and they talked about the campaign have you read that piece yet and politico magazine Certainly put it in play. yeah it's in the book but i don't know if you read everything it it's called complete this sentence donald trump wins reelection if by tim alberta i want everyone to go there so with that background with that recommendation what do you think scan happen tonight well i mean frankly i think the overall narrative of the next two days we'll be as follows i think it will be clear that the front runner in both debates which is frankly let's let's actually tickets i think joe biden is going to get bloodied and i think we will see somebody who were who were not thinking about right now meeting somebody who's not eight considered a top tier candidate will have risen because they are getting more attention than they were before and everyone's going to go after they don't even think i think it's going to be people in both debates even when he's not there tonight people are going to go after him and people are going to use basim opportunity to make a splash so that's kind of my general thought i people kept asking me yesterday we'll we'll people dropped out after tonight don't way there's very little chance people will drop out after this debate there are three debates people have money people have you know the momentum that they need to stay in the race so i think this is just the beginning of a very long process of all the candidates i know tim ryan the best he's been on the show a lot the congressman from ohio and i went to the same high school in warren ohio john f. kennedy i've known him forever he's been on the show a lot and i talked to him the last time he's a quarterback he's running scrambling quarterback for not only kenny at youngstown state i said if you got a game plan he said yeah but i'm not going to tell you what it is which of course makes a lot of sense do you think they all have a game plan in mind that they will execute regardless of what they are asked yes i do i don't think you have to answer any questions especially in our debate with a dozen however many candidates in each debate i think the answer the question that you want to answer i also think quite frankly i can't predict obviously what's going to be asked and i'm not sure that any candidate just came to mind this morning and i haven't put it on paper yet but any candidate really knows at this moment with the democratic base wants i mean you see candidates making making basically completely different debts about how the shape of the race is going to go you have joe biden making the gamble that basically he's going to be able to come through a primary after acting as a moderate and somebody who had ended the general election candidate you have basically the rest of with a few exceptions acting as progressive as they can be so i'm not actually sure that anybody has affirmed theory of the case about where the electorate is my wrong no i think you're you're correct with one exception everyone knows based on the work of steve kornacki that they have to get the african american vote and the work of steve chronology over the last week has proven that the african american voters decisive in giving the nomination to a candidate and has been except for the outliers of jesse jackson when of course they gathered around jesse in his ill fated campaign in eighty eight they have always determined the winner and so there will be a lot of subtext here no i can predict two questions and i although i appear on n._b._c. and m._s._n._b._c. i'm not involved in any debate prep i haven't talked to anyone about the debate prep nothing zero zip i expect that people will be asked about the shooting in south bend do agree with me jake and i believe that n._b._c. may show the photo of the incredibly terrible photo lab oscar alberto martinez ramirez in his daughter julia vallery a dad in the rio grande day face down in the river and ask what do you think about this because that's the sort of emotional jolt and public policy relevance that will sometimes we to spontaneity among the candidates what do you think about that Right. very practiced candidate who is able to rise up for scripted moments meeting moments in which he's able to prepare unlike the events that have happened the last couple of days in bend he will have an answer for that and it will be a good answer i'm not saying i'm only saying that On the campaign trail writ large. i agree with you in that image which is striking i actually am not sure they're gonna show it i don't disagree with you but i think that there will be a lot of people who there might be people in again i'm an m._s._n._b._c. contributor as well but i have not talked to anybody about the substance of the debate but i think that's a risky image to play on television especially in prime time network t._v. i don't know if they showed it on the evening news last night i just wonder if if their paws among the be network brass just show that reality of the border it is sort of like someone wrote a story maybe i thought it politico there are a half dozen photographs the little girl running in south vietnam after being subject to napalm attack the execution in way city of a terrorist i mean there are a half dozen photographs said i am hussein in the spider hole that that just never leave your mind this is one that will never leave your mind the syrian girl caught in the bombing and so i i'm just thinking that now let's move over to muller i am excited i'm doing cartwheels that robert mueller has been subpoenaed that's my understanding is that he was subpoenaed or at least the threat of subpoena was coming and it's my understanding if not coming alone it's going to bring some of the policy with him and they're going to get up there and i'll tell you what might take it in a second but what do you think about this july seventeen i believe scheduled appearance of robert muller before jerry nadler in the game appearances two different appearances in front of judiciary in intel sixty different members of congress so i think two different things which might sound like they're in conflict but they're not number one i believe that it's going to be a historic day i think it's going to be very powerful for some people to hear the report read by the men who authored it investigation on the other hand it will take a lot for people to people might not want to swallow this but he has said and we've pointed out and play book said he will not go beyond the report he is not looking to offer commentary on the report he he said in his statement a couple months ago the report is my testimony so given that we we have to believe that he's going to stick to that we have no reason to believe so i don't think there's going to be any new ground tread but for people who are looking for a moment they're gonna have this july seventeenth day now jake you're not a lawyer but i'm wondering if you've heard of rule one point nine of the model rules of professional conduct right so i am a lawyer and i'm very aware of this and another trick question who was robert muller's client department justice the united states and or the department of justice but the department of justice acting on maps of that's his client rule one point nine our duties to former clients all right and the duties to former clients require that you've represented someone you may not use the information related to that representative to the disadvantage of a former client and you may not reveal information relating to the representation accepted these rules would permit or require with respect to a client in other words bill bark and tell him say nothing and he can't say anything people don't understand the basic law here but i think that's not what bars going to say i think barth say please talk about the dossier and i think every republican up there is going to talk about the dossier what do you think well i think you listen i've watched all these hearings to the last couple of break down along party lines so to that extent you're right i don't i do believe that every democrat or many democrats will ask bar weather sorry we'll ask him whether he was told to buy bart's limit things so i think that's that's one hundred percent clear listen i do believe i might get a little flak for saying in almost useless to this point and this will be a little bit more powerful i i in symbolism ended substance but it's going to break down on party line you're not jim jordan avenue moment where he says you're right this president is to be a beach but democrats this is very powerful experience for people around the country after imagine that all the networks are going to break into their coverage here and are going to show parts of this hearing at the top of the urine it's going to be a historic moment and i do believe it looked give a couple of dozen democrats perhaps the cover to come out and say their for peach minute dismal seventy five or so seventy who are for impeachment that's about a third than the third of the democratic caucus right now with corn put impeachment and the candidate the candidate don't want impeachment they just don't there's just no upside impeachment for the candidates i don't i don't i i'm not sure whether i agree or disagree almost all of them have said they are for impeachment but listen i i think.
