Celtics' 3-0 deficit is surmountable to Boston Red Sox great David Ortiz

"Former Red Sox slugger and Hall of Famer David Ortiz knows what the Boston Celtics are facing and understands about coming back from a three zero hole. He's done it leading the 2004 World Series champion Red Sox from the three games to non deficit in the American League championship series against the rival New York Yankees. If you do it in baseball again and then the next question will be will you do it in basketball. Right. Exactly. And if you're doing ambassador, you gotta be the same city. "How you doing? Good, Charlie, good to be with you. Amy, I want to thank you for your leadership in demanding the impeachment of mayorkas. How many people are crossing the border every single day and is anything being done about it? Well, if you take this week, you're going to probably average about 6500 to 7500 a day of encounters. And then you're going to have probably another four or 5000 of got aways. This administration actually, Charlie, they're doing something about it. They're making it easier and incentivizing more people to come into the country illegally. So they give the CBP one app and they're granting parole so they're giving you these people to a two year work permit to go out and work in the country. They'll then be lost. And otherwise, I will just say our CBP agents are working their tails off trying to stop this and do what they can, but this administration was simply will not let them enforce the law and the causing every kind of problem that, I mean, we could go into the weeds and go into the ground on this thing, but secretary mayorkas must be he should either resign or be impeached. He's not going to be impeached. And just testimony from CBP chief Ortiz admitted finally, somebody admits that our border is not secure who's in that top leadership, but major York is testified at the borders operational control, which is just a flat out piece of perjury in my opinion.

"I want to just go back to the subject at hand. I think that at least I got Eric's point. I want to get some other people in, but the tearing down. I hear that a lot and I'm trying to perception lies it. Perceptual it. I see I kind of see what people are saying, but at the same time, it's like, from my position, I'm in a world where I'm seeing black people struggle, I'm seeing black people destroy their own communities and nobody's even talking about it. It's like, it's okay to tout, we got ten new black millionaires this year. You know, we got black entrepreneurs. Like, I get it. That's what we supposed to be doing. We live in America, you know what I'm saying? I don't know if it's shall be celebrating the fact that black people are entrepreneurs. That's what she's supposed to do. People come over here with 25 sin, they pocket, they can't even speak English, and they become millionaires in this country. But I do think that what's being promoted is this idea that black men are being hunted by police. So I dive into that issue and I break that line up. A lot of people come on and we can talk about more Luther King till we blew in the face. But how do we vote? You could say Martin Luther King said I want a dream. I have a dream that, you know, about his kids playing with white kids and us not looking at the color of the skin, but the content of your character. Yeah, majority of white people are looking at the color of the skin. I think it's like you tell my Martin Luther King and you ain't even living with Martin Luther King saying. Can we get the elephant out of the room and call out the BS so we could actually be on the same page? We can actually be on the same page. Because this in is not working. You talk to black people. By and large, I think a lot, not every black person. I think a lot of black people you ask, what's the best interest? What is your interest on? What race is the most important to you? And I mean, most black people say black people. But it's like, well, look, you ain't gonna go, you ain't gonna go far. If you picking and choosing. And then if the white man say white man is most important to me, then people are mad. People can go out and say black power, black power, black power. If somebody said white power, they'd be mad. We took the word back. N word don't have no power no more. Let a white person call you in where you mad. Let's get that stuff out of the way so we can begin to move in a more efficient way.

They ain't begging you to they not trying to, it's crazy to me, because and I know I'm rambling, but it's crazy to me because I feel like black people are reaching for a begging for handouts. Not all. But it seems like it's a good number of black people with their hand out begging somebody for something while other people are getting it done. These people from Mexico and South America, they come to America with nothing. They ain't asking for nothing. They're not protesting Mexicans get shot in the head by the police they ain't protesting nothing. They out there working. They got 5 or 6 people living one half. I'm not saying all of them. A Justice Denied in the Black Community

"This is what I want us to consider. Of course I have my own opinions about Martin Luther King and I think that I'm starting to really doubt if he was if that was his dream or that was a Marxist leftist white liberals dream. But I see the parallel today, I see the parallel. And it's kind of ironic because after the civil rights movement, it seems like black people begin to do worse. And the trajectory became worse. I mean, even to this day, there is a profitability in victimhood. Profitability in victimhood. I just, I've seen it, I've seen a hundred times. I was watching the documentary just the other night on the rapper Lil Baby. I think his name is Lil Baby. The baby. No, it's a little baby. I said, let me see what little baby, 'cause some of these rappers ain't as bad as they look or they rap about. Sometimes you see them and you're like, oh man, they got a good story man. He's got a good heart. I get it. So I'm looking at little baby. And my thoughts are running crazy. And shame and guilt begins to overshadow me. Because of, and when I say overshadow me, shame and guilt for the black community begin to overshadow me. They made a documentary about this rapper and I think his story is quite unique. But in the documentary, they cry about the white man. And they talk about injustice. Because Lil Baby went to prison for like two years. But in the same sentence, they're saying this injustice in the system and white supremacy, yet they're bragging about the fact that Lil Baby was a hustler making over millions of $1 million millions of dollars selling dope in the community. He was a hustler. He was a drug dealer. He was making millions of dollars selling dope to his own people. You said in the millions of dollars worth of dope, you know what I mean, people have died because of the adult, that little baby sold them? In the black community, not the white folks in the black community. But then they go on and talk about the white man in social justice, but then they brag about how he was making millions selling dope to his own people.

The MLK We Didn't Know

"Is Martin Luther King's movement any different than Black Lives Matter movement? Because if you listen, they don't talk about that Martin Luther King pushed Marxism. They don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King pushed government intervention and government assistance. More so than he did self accountability. And people don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King didn't write that speech. Nobody talks about that part. People don't talk about the part where Martin Luther King, if you listen to any of his other speeches or any of the other things that he did, it was very different. He hung around people who were known marxists. People who did not believe in what they project that Martin Luther King is saying today. Show me a sermon for Martin Luther King. A lot of what Martin Luther King was was an activist. And again, I'm not trying to bash him. I'm really not. I'm trying to give you a different perspective. Because if you look at Jesse Jackson, show me a sermon from Jesse Jackson. Show me a sermon from reverend Al sharpton. They don't, they don't do sermons. They use the pillars of the black community and influence of having the title reverend to be an activist in the community to have some respect. And they use that in my personal opinion to manipulate and to get in the minds of black people to believe them. And I would argue that the certain people and I would argue the white Marxist leftist liberals Ireland call them liberals that mostly leftists, they are finding and using these black people influence in these black people giving them platforms to push their agenda. Because I'll go on for Martin Luther King. I mean, look at the people who hung around Martin Luther King. And people, you know, I seen the documents and information and I want to have my guy Chad Jackson on here. They give you the full perspective of it because he's a lot more knowledgeable, but I saw the video. I saw the content. Uncle Tom two alludes to a little bit of it. But there's an Uncle Tom three that I hope that they put out. That goes into it. I saw it behind the scenes that goes into everything about Martin Luther King.

"I know that this is holiday for many people. So I hope you're celebrating and eating barbecue and all kind of stuff on the holiday. I want to say happy Marxist Luther King day. I mean, Martin Luther King day, some people ain't gonna like that I called Martin Luther King of marxists, but was he a Marxist? Or was he not a Marxist? This show is going to be hot, so make sure you're ready and prepared. It makes you sitting down. I believe that Martin Luther King wasn't who we think he is, or he was. I think that the media has really recreated a scenario that's very similar to what they've done with the narrative of police brutality in America, the same narrative of Black Lives Matter. I mean, I'm telling you guys, I'm telling you, in 20 years, we're going to look back and they're going to say that Black Lives Matter was an organization that inspired change. It was the new civil rights movement. They're going to tell you that black people were getting gunned down in the middle of the street on by white racist police officers. And it was an epidemic. Alfredo Ortiz: Small Businesses Don't Need Government Intervention

"I mean, I grew up poor and San Diego actually Chula Vista, California. I used to go around on trash stick with my mom, picking out aluminum cans and newspapers from the garbage cans and we'd go over to the YMCA would cash it in and that was a grocery money. I mean, fast forward to meme owning my own two small businesses in Atlanta, there was a construction company that had a consulting company. I mean, it made a difference. Look, I was standing next to the president of the United States as a commissioner for the minority Hispanic initiative that The White House ran. I mean, only in this country does that happen, but it wasn't because government intervention got me there. It was hard work and grit, and knowing that I believed in myself, that's what got us there. And so that's pretty much what the book is making the case is that in arguing for, is that, look, we don't need government intervention. We need is the government to get out of the way lower taxes lower the regulation and enable us to succeed in quite frankly, it is obviously very hard to succeed in a small business. You know, that you have a small business yourself. But you know what? If the government worked to get out of the way, it at least helps our odds and with Hispanics, in particular, we have been doing great under the Trump administration and overall though entrepreneurship is the way to go. And most minorities are very entrepreneurial, in fact, much more so than their white counterparts, and the data shows that those that have owned the business and small business tend to do better than their white counterparts.

Alfredo Ortiz: Preview the New Book 'The Real Race Revolutionaries'

"Tell us a little bit about the genesis of the book, what's in it and why people are going to love it. Well, thanks, Mike. I am excited about this. Look at something that you and I have been on the road now, I guess we started this 6, 7 years ago, it gets back in the Orlando. Orlando. And I know we were in Arizona, but look, all across the country, we've seen entrepreneurship amongst minorities be especially under the Trump administration, but it's really just sky high and the results were great. We had a booming economy and all that was because we actually got the government out of the way and we let these entrepreneurs in particular minority entrepreneurs really do their thing. And so for example, on the Hispanic entrepreneurship, it was never better than under the Trump administration, but blacks, Asians, et cetera. And so it actually all came about this book because I gave a testimony in the spring of last year in front of the entire House ways and means committee. And the Democrats were, of course, pushing their idea that the only way to get over the racial divide is for more government intervention, right? And I, of course, said, eh, I don't think so. I think the real way is for the government to get out of the way and to make sure that our small businesses thrive through lower taxes and lower regulation, which we all sought to be true and again was phenomenal during 2019, 2020. It all worked out before COVID. It was really phenomenal. So, but they didn't like that narrative. And in fact, it's kind of funny they were a couple of quotes here that I pulled out from that or from that testimony. They were troubled by the rhetoric and claimed that I was inappropriate and ignorant to the arguments and needs of the minorities. So how's that? I'm a Hispanic on the Mexican American immigrant sent to immigrants and I'm ignorant to the needs of minorities of the

"One of my favorite people has written on this Alfredo Ortiz, the real race revolutionaries, how minority entrepreneurship can overcome America's racial and economic divide. It doesn't have the last word here. That's my, okay. It's divides, yes. That is a bold statement by a bold man, Alfredo. Congratulations on your book. Thank you very much. Dennis is honored to be on your show as always. Alfredo was the president of a group that I adore. If there was a stronger word in English, I would use it. The job creators network so this is his thesis, minority entrepreneurship. Can overcome America's racial and economic divides. So to whom is your book dedicated? Love the book is that dedicated to a wonderful mother, gore a Ortiz, who did so much for me in sacrifices so much of Purcell. To pull us out of the property that we lived in and got me through, I was the first one to finish high school Dennis. First one finished college in the first one fish grad school and that was thanks to a wonderful God and the hard work and sacrifices and mother and three or four educators that took great interest in my life and my future.

Tokenizing Real Estate With Jorge Ortiz

"George, let's start with you. So you mentioned tokenizing property, tokenizing, real estate. So how can funds via NFTs? I can create crypto web three properties. How is that process? How do you navigate that process? That's a fantastic question. And so the big question here is dealing with the SEC and doing this above ground. And to a T to make sure that you're not getting into any trouble. And so some of the things that we've done is we've limited the raise and via the NFT sale to below $5 million. The reason for that is we're using a reg CF for our initial offering. For those of you all that don't know, it stands for regulatory crowdfunding. There's some rules and regulations around that, but it basically allows someone that's a non accredited investor to be able to participate. The reason we did that is we wanted to give the people back to power, right? I want it to be able to have someone that's 22 years old coming to the bar to own a membership token and make some of the revenue that he's bringing through the door back on a yearly basis while the SEC not scrutinizing us for creating an asset that was seen as a security. So that's the first component. The second is the trading after the fact. Many of y'all as you know, stock market, right? There's the ability for you to buy something traded afterwards. We also have an ATS license. An ATS stands for an alternative trading system that allows for individuals once that token has been bought to transacted for presumably for more money than what they bought it. All above board in front of the SEC. And so that's how we've packaged the real estate component to make sure that it's done in a similar sense for those of you all that might be knowledgeable of the real estate market that's usually done via LLC and you package the ownership of that LLC. Well, we've done all that documentation via the smart contract. And then that smart contract becomes dynamic in a way where you can transact it. And if George Ortiz owns it and somebody else buys it, there's no issues with it.

"How excited are they to be part of this environment and The Kentucky Derby with Barbara rode? Does Jaden even comprehend what it's all about? Oh yeah, you know what they do, basically they know that there's a lower level races and then we always talk about we got a big race, so when I say we got a big race, they know it's an important it's usually a space race, obviously. But they get just excited. Did you win the big race now? Is he ready that? So I love it. You know, they're just, they're starting to read both of them. I really picking up on it and my oldest is like The Kentucky Derby. He'll ask, well, how much money is the purse? What's that race mean? And he's really kind of more, he's very smart. He's very intellectual. And he brings all this stuff into his brain. I understand it on an older level. And my youngest is still, let's just go win a race. Is that right? Yep. Jaden is 5 and Xavier is now 9. Okay. All right, will they both make the walk over with you? Yeah, I mean, that's the plan, you know, the key is to limit the amount of tickets, but you know what? I'm pretty sure is my kid's going to have to walk up with that or then I get stuck back at the bar and so they're walking out very excited about it. You know, we tell them about the walk up and I don't think they really understand yet what's about to happen. Like how big this did they've been a big race, but they've never been to The Kentucky Derby. They've been to stakes races before. And they've been in the winter cycle for those separations, but you know, a Kentucky Derby. I mean, it's the biggest race in the world. I mean, you know that you're running to anybody in the world. And they ask you what you do for a living. You say Archie and racehorses and then the first thing that comes out of their mouth is to, you know, The Kentucky Derby. Have you raised in the Kentucky therapy? Do you have a horse in the Kentucky there? We have. You know, so it's just incredible that everything's coming through prospect right now. Before we started the show, we were talking off air and I asked you how you were holding up. And you gave me a wonderful answer. So I'll ask you again on air. So our listeners can hear John Ortiz, how are you holding up ten days out from Kentucky Derby? Well, like I was mentioning earlier, you know, I'm starting to feel it now. I'm getting really, I mean, the big word that I got to use here is definitely confidence. That's just the main feeling that I have right now is just a lot of confidence, but you know, it's funny right after the Arkansas Derby. I had no idea how to feel. Like I had no clue. I watched, I thought, from the angle where I was standing watching the race, I absolutely thought he's closing his clothes and get through, get through. Okay. And I thought we were in front. But that was just a stride after the race, you know? I was like, I thought we wanted. And I'm running back and I was like, did we win in and everybody's looking at it? No, we ran a second. And then when we say, well, we ran a second, I threw up and still yelled like I just wanted to race because we are high 5 and celebrated and this is what I love with mister Bill and Tammy Simon. And his son will was there that day as well. And everybody was jumping up and around like we won the race, but we were excited because we just said, we qualified with the point, but more importantly, this horse is just he's still alive horse, you know? So I went on that night and I laid in bed and it was just kind of talking to my wife about what just happened and I got a little emotional. I don't know what to feel. I want to be happy. I want to be excited, but I can't comprehend it right now. So a couple of days later, we went to go see Barbara road in the morning the next day. He looked crazy, he was playful as being his old self. And then, you know, I just drove back to Kentucky, get keenly me get ready to start. And when we finally shipped a Barbara road to Churchill, you know, I let him really recuperate after that our guitar therapy, I wanted him to get back on the seat, stay in his feet up, and I wanted to see a full recovery before we put him on a van and ask them to do it all over again. So when he finally arrived, I just saw how he's seen in the standing in the front of his doll. And just being a big bright character that he is. And we got that yellow setup towel. With his name on it and The Kentucky Derby logo on it. And I put it on. I was showing the group on how to set it up..

And. Making. You know, you can imagine what Hawaii looks like on a T-shirt or whatever. And it's very, I think it's very almost more than like, you know, almost any other state. It's like one of the places that I think did a great job of like visualizing a fake thing. Yeah, no. It's like a Disney, going there and seeing what's happening is kind of wild. I still haven't been to Hawaii, and I'm curious because I feel like from what I'm listening from people on TikTok and all that stuff. It's kind of in that same, that's what the goal is eventually to get us to the point where Hawaii is, which is a bummer. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it just feels, I don't know. This is how I felt being there. On a couple different islands was just like, oh, this is not, this is not ours. This is not mine. This is not of like I've also been to I've been to some reservations and it's a similar feeling of like, there's clearly a culture that already exists there. And that's being surrounded and inhabited also, you know, and just like that happened elsewhere in the U.S. at such a different time wasn't part of my purview, but when I see it in those places, it's I'm like, oh, this is what we've always done, but it's like actively still happening here. Yeah, it's just modern modern colonization. It really is just, and it's so brilliantly devastating how sneaky it is and how legal they make it. It's like, how is this, how is this legal? How was it happening? You start wondering, you start questioning the system, because it's like, how is this, how are these things legal? Who is saying yes to all of this? What's happening? I mean, even you correcting me when I said territory, like that's so helpful because again, it's like, it's like, it's like the concentration camps for Japanese American folks in California that are like not called concentration camps because language is specifically chosen to distance reality. Yeah, 100%. And they do a really good job. I mean, it's all marketing. Right. It's like, let's just make this. Let's reframe this in a way that we look good. And it's like, I don't know, buddy. When you look at the paper and you read the description, it's like, yeah, you really did. You did some creative thinking in that title. No. Wow, yeah. 100%. Well, thanks for sharing all that with me. And thank you. Yeah. So this whole moment, you know, it just feels like, well, first of all, I'm really happy for you, and it also just feels like I'm so happy that you are getting a chance to be known for like a thing that has nothing to do with these things that are part of your life, right? You're like you're playing gym. That's not like, but you have so many, you have so much to say. It's really excellent to just get a chance to be in the mainstream so that when these interviews come up, like these are this is just part of the chat. That's awesome. I'm just excited for all the things that are going to come out. I mean, I'm hoping they come out of all of this, right? I have so many incredibly talented, queer friends who write, produce, direct, act, and they all do they really need it. It just was like just some just a little push on the financing bit, and it's like, if I can help in that way, that's where I'm at. I'm kind of like, great. There's all this like, oh, what is going to, what does Vika gonna do after this? And I'm like, great. I have some things that I would like to do. Friends, come over, show me your stuff, and then be like, we want to do this project. Do you want to give us the money to do it? Because I believe in it, and we should do it. So that's kind of, I'm hoping that from all of this, you know, more doors and more beautiful stories get told and get in the mainstream media and just have a soul tell gorgeous stories and connect with each other and ourselves. That's my hope, at least, which sometimes it feels like kind of naive because this industry is kind of intense. I mean, I've been at it for 12 years and I've had some really devastating lows and some great highs. So I'm kind of just like, okay, let's just take advantage of the moment as much as possible before, if anything, if I fall again. Yeah, absolutely. And I'm sure you will, because we all will. It's like all about ups and downs. Yeah, I mean, that's my experience anyways that I don't care who you are or how well things are going. There's always an opportunity for it to dip. And so, yep. You know, I also love how stable and full of self love you sound because that's really important too. I'll take it also a year plus on therapy. So I recommend I recommend that's how we survive. Very much, yes. FICO, before I send you back into your day, I just wanted to ask you to shout out a queer ro, which is a person place or thing that made you feel that you can be who you are today. Oh my God. Wow. Holding the chest very, very loving posture. Yes. Wow, someone that really inspired me to really go for it was rainbow days. She oh, awesome. Yeah, she's in her acting class for like a year. And I was like, still a little bit afraid of like, I don't know if I should just and she really was just like inspired me to find the power and my truth and what I can bring to the table. And she was the one that inspired me to just, yeah, just very be like, I'm going to make every character queer, whether it was written for it or not. It's just going to happen. I'm going to show up and the second I'm in, it's just a queer character. And really take up that space. And not be afraid of taking that space. So yeah, she might, I love it. Well, you're a delight. And I can't wait to follow everything that happens for you. And I mean, your corner. Likewise, I go into your show, I'm just seeing all the sexy photos of the tattoos and all that stuff. And I was like, oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Awesome..

"So right now you're also exhibiting gender on television. As am I? And I wanted to talk about that. We love to see it. Here's all this conversation and then maybe you could just give some context for listeners. Absolutely. It's happening in your life. It seems like a pretty huge moment. It's a whole moment. So I'm going to show cold our flag means death on HBO Max that follows the life of stede bonnet. It's loosely based on real historical facts. Steve bonnet is an actual pirate who called himself the gentleman pirate, who befriended blackbeard the most feared. I just also have to say, I think is also in the television show outlander, so this is something that my outlander stands can confirm whether or not there is also Stephen bonnet and outlander. Yes, I think it's the same person. I'm so here for this. I have not seen outlander. And I think it should. Because well, I can't wait for the crossover. You know what I'm saying? So in history books, it's just told that stede bonnet and blackbeard became friends, but it never really gets explored. And in the show, they lean into the queerness of that relationship, which I think it's beautiful. And not just on those two characters, but there's several other characters. I mean, mostly everyone on that cruise queer to a certain degree. Which I think is lovely. And I play Jim. Who's this starts off the show as a bearded boba snow mute mysterious mute with crazy knife skills. And then it turns out Jim doesn't actually have a beard or a bulbous nose and they can speak. So there's a moment where the crew is like, Jim is a woman. What is happening? And then or mermaid or the gym is like, I'm just Jim. And everyone's like, that makes sense. And then just carry on. And it's beautiful. And speaking of gender and presentation and all the things, right? Part of the journey for me and Jim is that Jim is the same person with or without the beard. The beard doesn't make them more masculine less feminine, not having the beard doesn't make them more feminine less masculine. I didn't like when I went on the performance mode, I'm not trying to act like a man or act like a woman. I just am. And the only thing that changes is how people perceive them. And but what happens in the show is that once everyone was like, oh yeah, they're just Jim. They just carry on. And honor this person's journey. And they have whole mission of vengeance and revenge on the side. And once the gender part is like, done, it's like, gray, let's just carry on with this badass journey. And there's so much joy also within all of it. There's so much queer love, Jim has someone on the boat who is interested in them regardless, which I think is really fun. Sometimes the trope of the whole like, oh, well, now that the beard is gone, I'm like more attracted to Jim. It's like, no, you know, olu juande likes Jim. No matter what Jim looks like, they just like the person, which I think is really dope. And yeah, it's been bananas. I'm kind of like my social media. This is like the first something something like this happens to me, so my social media is exploding and all the ways in shapes and forms and I'm just as excited as everybody. When I read each episode, I would cry, I would be like, I can't believe I'm actually part of this. This is actually happening and then I'm seeing it done and I'm seeing a queer people being like, reacting the same way I did last year when I was reading everything. And I'm like, they're with you. I'm crying with you. I'm excited with you. I am feral. It's a new thing that I'm reading a lot. People are just feral for the show and I'm feral for the show as well. New Gen Z I don't know either I'm trying to tell you what the Gen Z's. That's what I mean, I feel like I'm really trying to get connected with Gen Z, but I certainly know what feral means. It means it's like it's a level. It's a level of excitement. It's a level of such intense love that you're just going feral. That you just, I mean, it's chaotic. Almost. Chaotic good. So I'm leaning towards that. I haven't really actually asked anybody what feral meant. I think you got it. But that's the vibe I got. That seems right. Wow. Spoiler alert. Just like everyone. I mean, yes. Well, I think go ahead and spoil. Our listeners. But you know, I think I want to ask you about, I mean, it's interesting, I guess, then, to have, I was able to be out as a queer person before I was ever working professionally just barely, by the way. Tomorrow, which is April 1st is my 20 year gay versary. 20 years ago, on April 1st, I kissed a woman for the first time, which sent me into a utter exploration that has never gone back from that moment. And actually, I am 40 this year, so on April 2nd, I will have been on this exploration longer than I wasn't, which is really cool. That's so dope. I love you. Yeah, absolutely. Oh, wow. Yeah, I love this. I'm about to hit that marker of being aware of myself longer than I wasn't. Happy anniversary. Oh my God, thank you. It's really wonderful. But so then I was doing improv already in college, but I started working professionally when I was 21, I think. So I already knew some stuff about who I was, not everything. The gender stuff is sort of happening in public..

"Slow. You see the time it's all the time we go 24 or 49, especially on the grass. The times are lower. And sometimes people wonder why they don't just don't go, but sometimes you go and you go in 48 and you don't get there. People from the back beat you. So. Everywhere is different, you know? It's a good question, but Keanu can talk in your more modern similar and California and golf ring they are very similar to. Jose, you have set so many records on the racetrack and you are about to set another one. I think you've just equaled Mike Smith for the most phone calls we've taken during this segment. Mike was on to kick things off with this when we debuted this segment four weeks ago. And I believe he had 7 phone calls in that segment. One more and you're going to break that record too. So give Jose a call 888-966-4776. That's 8 8 8 9 6 6 hrn and your chance to call in and be the host of the show and talk with Jose Ortiz. That was a great question too. Talking about the different styles, not just the racetracks, but the different, the different writing colonies, the different styles of the riders based on the surfaces. That's an interesting question, Jose. Yeah, it was very good, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, you're known for being very good on the grass, but obviously you're excellent in writing dirt races too. Do you have a preference as to which surface you like to ride? No, just depend on the horse. Yeah. Yeah. When you go to those different tracks, like you mentioned California and the quicker tracks and even Florida. And then New York's a little slower. Do you have to adjust your riding style or is it all strictly based on the horse you're riding? You got to adjust. And you don't just, you kinda did. You have to just. Yeah. All right. Well, I think we've got the record now. John is in bardstown. Josh is in bardstown. Sorry, Josh, and Josh go ahead. You are hosting the show with Jose Ortiz. Hey, glad to be here, guys. I appreciate your show Mike. I just wanted to help Jose. I think the right answer is to say, hey, thank you for all you do. Maybe a good question I would have is about Churchill downs and just kind of what you like most about racing in central downs. I like both trucks. I think they're very fair, but you know that history of Churchill's down is amazing. When you're raising there at inspire, you can see every time I go by the wire I look at the inside, the winner circle of the Derby island that I gave me goosebumps, you know, I want to be there one day and I really love that I want church. All right. Well, Josh, appreciate the phone call. Jose, we're about out of time really appreciate you doing this here today. I know our listeners really enjoy getting a chance to talk to you. All the best coming up with your mouths this weekend and beyond and every time you get a leg up safe trip, my friend. Thank you, Mike..

"Like him going into it. We have a very good trip, but you know, justify was a better horse. That day, and that season. And I gained some very cool horse too. Yeah, well, Chris, I appreciate the email. And again, you can email the show might get horse racing radio dot net. If you want to ask your question of Jose Ortiz, Dave and Chicago is back with us, Dave, you're on the line with Jose. Go ahead. Hey guys, hey, thanks for doing this. I think a lot of the fans appreciate this type of thing where we can actually connect with the people that we watch every weekend. So we really appreciate it. I did want to go back to Saturday real quick. Sacred life on in the turf classic there in the turf Pegasus. What is, what do you think is it the instructions or do you think that for some reason that horse just does not get there? And do you think it's an issue where he's not more on the front end or do you think that it's everything is just save for the last turn and then just rush to the line because colonel Liam can it seems like colonel Liam can be on the front end in the middle of the pack and then finds a way to get there. But what do you think it is about sacred life that he just can not get there or just has trouble? What do you think it is? Is it do you think he's too much a bunch stop or do you think that he needs a little more recent room on the outside? So I just wanted a little insight on when you ride him like on Saturday, what do you think the biggest issue is with that horse and we really appreciate this again and stay safe and we'll be watching in Florida this winter. Thanks Jose. Well, secret life is a very laid back course. It's a little lazy early on these little hard to take on early on position himself in a good position going into the first term. And you can see march they are blue, they turn a little bit kind of took me out of there, but I try to be a little bit more forward. But I wasn't able to because he don't have that speed early on, you comparing him to colonel Liam currently on his tactical speed. As you can see, he put himself in a very good position to win. And I think that was a key for him because he got that tactical speed early on. Sacred life doesn't hold that is a little bit more laid back and you know it take a little bit more riding to be on a good position and golfing is so hard to close, you know, it's a fast track the turf is faster and it's very hard to close. You've got to be on a good position passing the trigger. You can be too far out of it. Unfortunately, we were too far too far out of it. In the first, the first term was where I lost the race, you know? Great answer. Great question. Two Dave appreciate it. 888-966-4776. We have about another. Oh, 6 or 7 minutes to spend with Jose Ortiz. He's answering your questions. You are hosting the show. I'm turning it over to you, HR and nation. Your chance to connect and ask questions of Jose Ortiz. Sarah sends an email to us from Tampa. And Sarah wants to know Jose, what is the, who is the favorite horse that you have never written? And write so many good ones. It's hard to choose one. But. Maxfield I really like maxfield, really like magic. I really like lover dad. There were so good on so easy to ride. So it's hard to pick one, but that's I give you three of them. Yeah. Yeah, well, thanks are appreciate it. And again, you can email the show. If you don't want to come on radio, that's fine. Mike get horse racing radio dot net, submit your question on our social media pages or call in right now to talk live with Jose Ortiz. You be the host, 888-966-4776. That's 8 8 8 9 6 6 8 N Jose to think back on your career. And I know that there are still plenty more good days ahead. But to think back on everything that you've been able to accomplish, that question is hero is making me think about this. All the good horses, all the good owners, all the good trainers. When you first started out, I know you want to get to this point, but could you ever imagine it would get to where it is today? Well, you know, you never imagine. You're going to get the opportunity, but thankfully, thanks to the hard work also, we're getting good opportunities from good own and good trainers and we're writing Google horses and I'm trying to do the best I can try to take advantage of all the good opportunities I'm getting, you know? Yeah. Yeah, well you're doing that. Troy is in New Jersey Troy, go ahead. You are on hosting the show with Jose Ortiz. Yes. You're right in Florida, New York in Kentucky and in California. What is the difference between the actual writing styles which places the better? With places better well, the actual difference between the riders. It's a different call. California is a little bit more fast. Phase always is going to be a lot faster. Golf stream, kind of the same way that both trucks are fast and you always have some speed going on.

You know, we work hard to do a better or do the same. Like I say, is that rivalry there on the truck, or it's very healthy, it's nothing. I was just wondering who started writing first between the two of you who was the leader and who followed. My brother is a year older than I am and he started a year before me. And then I followed behind him. Was that here in the United States or was that in your home country? In Puerto Rico. Yeah. And Puerto Rico. Okay. Yes. I just want to let you know another thing. A lot of guys at the OTB say just bet the Ortiz brothers in exact a box. That's the word that you hear quite a bit at the OTBs. So you do that probably make a lot of money. Great line. That's what the listener would like to know. Yeah, early on on their career, they're very similar. They got a very similar style of running, which is very speedy early on. And they keep carrying carry on that speed. They are, they physically, they look like a lot. Since he got the horse in the bar, he told me he liked him a lot. And he wanted me to ride him. Are they that good in Saudi Arabia compared to here in Kentucky? Yes, same thing. Exactly the same. Exactly the same nice to hear. And then just the horseman scene out there and the whole horse racing seat overall, Saudi Arabia. What were some of your takeaways from that? Yeah, it's very good that people love heart racing out there and they're very passionate about it. I really love it. It's my second time out there. Border Patrol Agents Get Into Heated Exchange With Leadership During Mayorkas Visit

"The Biden administration has for cynical political reasons. Essentially left the border open porous. And people are pouring through a record numbers of people. It seems like every month we exceed the record of the previous month, the latest data from December shows a another record, 180,000 people across the border in December, surpassing the previous numbers to give you an idea only 75,000 crossed in December of 2020. So a big surge. And this is all being done, not just with the complicity, but with the invitation of Majorca, Kamala Harris, and of course President Biden himself. You can imagine what it's like to be a border patrol agent. And if you want to just get a sense of the kind of frustration that border patrol agents feel and being asked to do a job in an impossible situation, take a peek at this. Listen. If we're going to mention the number of exactly what's happening, this men are doing nothing. You're allowing the new aim here to talk about communities. You are doing something. You are. Your rescue and people every day. You're taking 5th all on streets every day. You're taking that benefit on the different ways. In the history of our country. In one year, in this country. So what's happening here? Well, Alex Mallorca is the head of the Department of Homeland Security DHS in town, and of course this is just bringing out the anger of the ordinary border patrol agents. And here's border patrol chief raul Ortiz. And he's in Laredo, Texas. And he's sort of trying to calm the border patrol agents and sort of put on a brave face like they're doing the best job they can and they're not having it. So Ortiz is basically saying, well, listen, you know, we're still doing a lot of good work, guys. You know, we're still stopping the fentanyl as best we can. And the border patrol agents are having none of it. They're saying, listen, there's record numbers of fentanyl coming in. They're coming in apparently with the kind of wink wink of the Biden administration. And so what are we even doing here? We can't even use the word illegal. We can't call them illegal aliens. And then, of course, Ortiz goes, well, you call them illegals right now. I'm not firing you, am I? So you've got a guy who's a supervisor, and he's obviously an apparatchik. In other words, he has to represent the Biden administration. He has to pretend like their jobs are not being systematically abused. But I love the line where one of the agents is in effect quoting Edmund Burke. That's exactly what's happening here. Good men are doing nothing.

"A lot, a lot more to David Ortiz's story and why he is to me a slam dunk for cooperstown in 2022. The number one moment in my mind and I think it sticks out in the minds of a lot of Boston Red Sox fans, especially in the city of Boston, was what he did on April 20th, 2013, when first responders and the Watertown police department were being recognized for how they handled the two day shutdown after the Boston city excuse me after the Boston Marathon bombing back on April 13th. And I think what he was able to do and the way he was able to galvanize not just Red Sox fans, but the city of Boston, this is our effing city. And for him to say, and obviously he did not say epping, he actually said the word. We'll keep it family friendly here. This is our effing city. To me, that defines David Ortiz. And that is saying something considering he's the best clutch hitter in the history of Major League Baseball. That's not hyperbole. That's just the way it is. Anybody who watched his 18 year career starting with the twins back in the early 2000s and ending in 2016 with the Red Sox knows that he is the greatest clutch hitter they've ever seen. But the way he galvanized people, I already brought up the moment he galvanized the Red Sox and the dug out in St. Louis and game four of the 2013 World Series. But earlier in that season on April 20th, 2013, David Ortiz was a lot about a lot more than just baseball on that day. And the way galvanized the city, I keep using that word, but I think it's the perfect word for him. Really stuck out in the fans and endeared him to not only Red Sox fans and not only baseball fans, but endeared him to anybody who really felt that Boston had been attacked and you think you're going to make us cower screw off. And that was the perfect time, the perfect moment. David Ortiz against the Kansas City Royals before that game. And even the royals stood up on the edge of their dugout in awe of what the man was doing. Yeah, I mean, he just captured the tone of the moment so perfectly. And you know, you know you kind of got it right when the FCC came out and the FCCs are pretty stingy organization. They really don't let a lot slide and they were like, that's fine. He's good. We're not gonna find anybody for that. So yeah, I have the shirt. This is our all of that. It was a defining moment for the city. You know, forget a defining moment for the Red Sox. You talk about what a big moment it was. Here we are talking about the guy who, like you said, the greatest clutch hitter of all time who, you know, played a huge part in ending the curse. One of the biggest grand slams and.

"But you can also follow him on Twitter at real Alex barth. All right, back with David Ortiz and the top 5 David Ortiz moments before we do that, I want to go over some amazing statistics. And I'm sure you're very aware of these. Alex. And why I think it's a no brainer that David Ortiz next Tuesday winds up being announced as the, as a part of the cooperstown 2022 class. His career averages. He hit two 86 for his career. He had 541 home runs. He had 1700 over 1700 RBIs. And his career, this is staggering. His career, OBP. I mean, excuse me, OPS. Was 9, 31. Want to know something even more staggering? At the age of 40, his last year in 2016, do you know the numbers Alex? It's over one. I don't remember exactly what it is, but it's the second or third highest of his career. Yeah. It is the well, that's a great question. It is the third highest of his career. He had a 1.066 in 2007 and 1.049 in 2006. He had a 1.021 OPS in 2016, his final year in Major League Baseball at the age of 40. To me, what's even more amazing? He had a league high 48 doubles. He had 38 bombs, and he drove in a 127 RBIs. That is also fourth highest in his career. He had single season highs of a 148 in 2005. He had a 137 in 2006, sitting at a 139 in 2004. A 127 RBIs at the age of 40 in his last four seasons in Major League Baseball. He drove over a hundred drove in over a hundred runs in each and every single season. To me, that is just astounding. Obviously we get to the postseason and his numbers are almost as staggering. His OPS in 85 postseason games, Alex. 9 47. In those 85 postseason games he had 17 home runs and 61 RBIs. Now I've not had the time to break down how many game winning RBIs he had in game winning hence walk offs and whatnot in Major League Baseball. History, but still it's astounding. And I think for those just based on those numbers alone, the man's getting into the Hall of Fame..

"Hey everybody, it is drags and I am back along with the one and only Alex barth for another edition of Red Sox beat. On this episode, I'm looking forward to this a lot because we don't do lists a lot on the Red Sox beat, but Alex, Alex barth came up with a great idea when we were brainstorming earlier in the week for something new, something different. And he said, how about with David Ortiz almost certainly all due respect to Dan shaughnessy of The Boston Globe? Almost certainly going into the Hall of Fame and the announcement coming out on January 25th next Tuesday. Why don't we do a top 5 all time David Ortiz moments? And I'm like, Alex, I don't respect you a lot, but that is a great idea. That's a spectacular idea. So let's go ahead and do that. We're going to have some fun with this. We're going to bring back a lot of memories a lot of these memories. We were there in person for others. We watched off television, but certainly I think every Red Sox fan that is listening to this and every loyal Red Sox beat listener on seal and S can appreciate the list we're about to do. We'll start with number 5 and I'll go first. To me, his speech in game four of the 2013 World Series is one of those iconic Ortiz leadership moments in the dugout. And the reason this is on the list for me in the top 5 is because of the situation that he surmised and assessed in game four of that World Series. People forget the Red Sox were down two to one, two games to one to the Saint Louis Cardinals. They were in St. Louis. The score was tied one one when Ortiz decided to gather his teammates in the dugout in the 6th inning. The game was getting a little long in the tooth. And according to the reports after the game, Ortiz said, quote, I told them we had been in this situation before and that we had had a better team than we had showed. The game's top and I know we have better hitters than we've shown. I see guys who dominate good pitching and they haven't been able to come through. Yeah, they, the cardinals have a good picture, but they're throwing the ball over the plate. That is the game that was decided by a Johnny Gomes home run, three run Homer, the Red Sox win it four to two..

Maskless San Francisco Mayor Caught Breaking Health Order at Local Club

"You realize the democrats are capable of. Electing somebody like london breed. Now i know san francisco is wild. I get it it's a it's a. It's a world unto itself. Most americans can't relate in any way shape perform to the antics of san francisco and maybe a great example of that is the woman who runs the city. The mayor so she held a press conference this week over the firestorm of controversy. She's facing her own city ordinance. Which is one of the strictest ordinances in the country requires masks indoors whether you're vaccinated or not now. You got to hear her explanation. This is classic. This is a typical. This is the gavin newsom. French laundry thing all over again. This is chris. Cuomo caught on tape marching through his apartment building without a mask on confronting bicyclist south in his house in the hamptons when he's the middle of fighting kovin. These guys are such a joke but consider this woman. The mayor of one of america's most famous prominence cities. I give you the mayor of san francisco explaining why she violated her own. Strict mask mandate inside the city. Jazz club incredible musicians who performed and who really uplifted the spirits of not just myself but all of the people who were there and from my perspective you know i was there i was eating and i was drinking and i was sitting with my friends and everyone who came in there was vaccinated so the fact that we have turned this into a story about being massless. No i'm not gonna sit in. Put my mask on sip and put my mask on sip input mask on. Eat input my mask on. Well i'm eating and i'm drinking. I'm gonna keep my mask off and yes in in time. Why we're drinking like everyone else. There we were all having a good time and again all vaccinated so the fact that this is even a story. His sad got better. Where's the pit about feeling the spirit. Oh we got the. We left the best part out. She felt the spirit she wanted to move. She was feeling this get them. I'll play that clip. Maybe for alfredo ortiz. Because we let the best part out. She was feeling the spirit. She's having a good time and she was vaccinated. Never mind that. The city ordinance literally requires vaccinated people to wear a mask indoors. But she's the mayor

"Excited to be with you today. You know, one of the things that we always talk about is that the podcast is always focused on the intersection of business culture, entrepreneurship and life here in the Ozarks. And I'm sure you could talk about all of those. But why don't you just give the audience an initial introduction into who Edwin Ortiz is and then we'll kind of go from there and talk about this baby that you birthed called rejoice and what it's like. I mean, you have two babies at home, two beautiful daughters, but you also have another baby called rejoice. And I want to talk about that as well. So why don't you tell the audience a little bit about yourself? For sure. So yeah, my name is NRT so I was born in Mexico City grew up there moved to the U.S. when I was around 15 and I've been around startups my whole life. And graduated from Brigham young university in at home started business, chain, and then worked for a few years for a couple Fortune 500 companies doing technology supply chain and retail. In 8 different countries. And then it started my first startup pull launcher. And it was this platform, but made it easy for people to order lunch from their office and get it delivered for free. And it worked really well. We grew up to 80 offices up until March of 2020. And then all 80 offices closed. So at that point, yeah. Yeah, it was interesting, and at that point we decided to keep serving our customers..
