"But I think it's a benefit, sure. Derek Carr in the saints that looks like that could be close to happening. Your thoughts about that? Yeah, I always felt like the news from this morning of the Derek Carr leaning towards the jets was a jets kind of gamesmanship thing. Hey Aaron, we need a decision here to get the ball rolling on this. I think Derek's a good player. Oh, you think the judge were playing they were trying to toy with Aaron Rodgers? Yeah, let's go. The time is of the essence here. Okay. That's what I thought it was. A gamesmanship play, 'cause it's just that scene that they were attached to Aaron forever. And I knew Derek, you know, wanted to get a decision done. The saints, I think of the last week, and it might be a little bit of a different number because I think they have reworked some contracts for $55 million over the cap. So while yes, I like Derek's fit there, what does the team look like? 'cause they're gonna have to get rid of somebody or move money around somehow to fit his deal under there. So I just wanna see what the makeup of the team is before sitting there and totally making a proclamation, but yes, the initial starting point is really good spot very young offensive line in some spots that is talented. A lobby is a superstar. So there is initially the like of that fit for sure. Yeah, I get it, and you're going to the NFC south where he's immediately the best quarterback in the NFC south. Totally. That's not saying too much. Will levis was talking to good game. He's got a cannon for an arm and he couldn't wait to show it off. Did you come away and pressed? I expected will to throat really well. The only thing that I get with will is this. And I like will, I talked to Willie's obviously a Connecticut kid. I'm rooting for him. You know, like, and I said this on the shows last week, I would play a couple specific clips of his game from last year. Like there's a clip where he misses some throws in my naked eye when you watch it. You're like, man, that's a bad miss. And I would want to play the play for him and just say, hey, tell me about what happened on this play. And I think you'll gather so much information from how does he see the field? What is he looking at? What is he being taught? How does he process information? Does he throw his receivers under the bus? Does he throw his coaching under the bus? 'cause they're some misses on tape where you go. That looks weird. And I want to know why that ended up looking that way. And then I think, you know, for a guy that he's a little bit different or like the contrast of the Anthony Richardson for me, because Anthony for 6 four two 40s loose. That's it's kind of Josh again, like for as muscular as he is. He's loose. Will's a little bit stiffer. He's a little bit stockier. And I think, you know, that messes with his lower half and upper half being connected and rhythmic. He's gonna have to work really hard to gain rhythm in his passing game. Super talented and can throw it with anybody, I just think you want to grow with the rhythm of the past. Always good to talk to you. Congratulations on the best sector. Thanks, man. I got it done. Played basketball the next morning. Oh, you did. Yeah. Just tough. Connecticut kids are tough, you know. I told Louis Riddick about you with your 40 yard dash. He did not know that you cheated to make yourself seem faster when you were recruited by Yukon. Lewis barely talked to me in indie last week at the combine, so that's probably gonna be. Well, his combine numbers, I think he ran a four 7 40. Louis? Yeah. At the combine. That's pretty good for a safety, right? I don't know, he's embarrassed by it. He was like, do not. Do not bring that up. Cut a leg off for four 7. But what did you run when you made it a 37 yard dash? That day I ran four 8. Combine, and then at the combine, they just did it this morning. I ran four 9. I said, I told green, I said green. That was like 12 years of wearing jump souls to school, ankle weights, running with a parachute on my back just to get to 4.9, so. Wait, you ran a four 9 in Lewis Riddick rent. We're in a four 7 two. Yeah, but Louis is like 25 years older than me. That's 25, maybe 15, sorry. Sorry, Lou. Yeah, but his time when he ran it, and when you ran it. I mean, it doesn't matter, you still ran a 40 yard. Basically what we're getting to is Lewis was not that fast, much faster than me. Man, that's not gonna fly with Louis that much. But you know what is so bizarre mean at times ran a four 6 four? There's no way. Unbelievable. Yeah, she bent past two 25, 13 times, and at a vertical 34. I mean we make fun of me all the time, 'cause she's like, guys, I was such a good bar, so you look soccer player and we're like, yeah. "The NFL scouting combine is in full swing in Indy as the speed and power of the 2023 draft class has been on display inside Lucas oil stadium and the prospects are here. Bijan Robinson, the running back out of Texas. We'll be talking about him today and you don't want to miss where somebody says he could go, maybe a little higher than you would think for a running back. Will levis is going to throw tomorrow. Here why he says he made that decision confidence at a very high level as it should be in CJ Stroud. We have an interview coming your way with him in just moments where you find out exactly what motivates him and why he thinks he should be the number one quarterback taken in this year's draft. Welcome to NFL live. We are here for two hours as we're gonna get you caught up on everything going on here, Louis Riddick, Mina kinds, Brian Clark, Dan orlowski, who's dancing. Is that what we're calling it? What is that? It's like it looks like a grandpa dance actually to be totally honest. Well, dad jokes, grandpa dancing. He's just a true all American here. I just bring the two, so let's go. Fart. All right. 120 minutes. Okay? Reminder of the schedule here today on the field right behind us. Workouts going on right now with the defensive backs. The cornerbacks running the 40 yard dash will bring you times as we get them officially. Live coverage now on NFL network and NFL plus through this evening is the DB's continued to work out, so we'll keep you updated there. And we began the show with quarterback Bryce young, the top prospect on many boards, his size is the question. Today, he told the media he's been weighing around 200 pounds. We'll see how his exact measurements come in tomorrow. I asked him the question so many NFL teams asked him yesterday when he met with them. Here's what he said about some of those concerns. You're not going to be surprised by this. Your size is going to be part of the conversation. What do you say to someone who doubts you because of your size? You know, it's fair. It's fine by me. Again, I can't control that, but I know myself. I know what I'm capable of. I know the work that, you know, I've put in, and then I'm going to continue to put in. And for me, I can control what I can control, and I'm going to do everything I can to put myself in the best circumstance and do everything I can to help a team win. What's the best part of your game? For me, I feel like it's leadership. That's something I pride myself in. As a quarterback in my position, I feel like how good you are is how much you can make the people better around you. So that's what I pride myself in. I'm excited to get to my new home and, you know, try to earn that trust and leadership. I get a reminder that Bryce young at quarterback that's not going to be throwing tomorrow, but he will throw, of course, at his pro day, which comes your way. He's looking down at you. He's taller than me. I am a thing. I am. I am 5 foot 7 without shoes on, and he is significantly taller than me. So we'll leave that there. We're actually on the height coming the way, okay? But we'll get to this first. When we look at these teams that might draft young, Dan, which one's actually the best fit for him. I think first of all, understanding that schemes shouldn't matter that much with Bryce. He scheme independent or skiing agnostic. A little bit more of the gun, a little bit more spread football. Two distinct advantages that he has. Number one, he learned under Bill O'Brien. He is not a quarterback that goes to the line of scrimmage claps, looks to the sideline, hey coach, what should I do and then go to the line of scrimmage? He's got complete autonomy, change plays and not an audibles on the line of scrimmage protections all that stuff. So that gives him a distinct advantage coming out of college football. If I was going to pick a scheme, I would say Joe burrows in Cincinnati, where he has the opportunity to be at the line of scrimmage. What's the defense in see everything and know exactly how to attack it? Catches the snap peaks to the left, realize that this man coverage safety in the middle of field try to make them lean one way. He's got that inside soft fade even though it's ideal coverage out of Tennessee. This ball reminds me of a Joe burrow type of placement throw. So the ability for him to kind of be at the line of scrimmage and see everything and the ownership that Bill O'Brien entrusted him with gives him just a great advantage of knowing all the intricacies of playing quarterback and owning things when it comes to the communication. I don't think that there's a specific scheme that he has to fit into because of that kind of tool skill set that he has. I think any scheme any team can make it work. But I also think just watching that, there is something that the team that drafts him needs to prioritize. And for me, it flows from this. Bryce young, when we think about the size, reminds me actually more of Drew Brees and Kyler Murray in his game. What did the saints always prioritize when it came to do Reese? Interior offensive line. So if it's a team like, say the colts at four that jumps up to get him. That's a team that last year their offensive line ranked last in the league and passed black one rate 28th and adjusted saccharide, they improved as the season went on, but if I'm them, and I'm drafting Bryce young, I go out and I sign a guard in free agency or a team like the Panthers, we like a lot for him. A team with improving offensive line, I would still focus on the interior in particular. Yeah, the Panthers are a great pick because look, I'm a big believer in culture. I'm a big believer in the quarterback room. I'm a big believer in the coaching staff. And look, Dan, look, you touched on this fact. He is, he's really not scheme dependent and quite honestly the great coaches can adjust schemes to the point where they can really utilize the player's strengths and minimizes weaknesses. Frank Reich has coached numerous different types of quarterbacks. Josh mccown has played quarterback the quarterback coach in Carolina at a very high level. Thomas Brown comes from an offensive system that really emphasizes play action in 12 personnel. So he knows how to scheme up the run game and marry it with the passing game. Think about the minds that you have right there in Carolina that could take a guy like Bryce young, who you're saying can do so many different things. And we watch them. He could operate from under center. He could operate from the gun. He can get out on the perimeter and throw if he needs to. And he can create out a structure. Those three guys together with him if they have the right interior group as far as guard center guard to protect him down the middle so he can hit all those throws that you talk about that he hits in the middle of the field. Yeah. He could take off rolling. The question is you're sitting at 9. How do you get there? If you want him, that bad. Well, you also have to think about the Carolina Panthers. You're a team that in the draft that we felt had really good quarterbacks, two years ago, you passed on Justin Fields. You also passed on Mac Jones and I believe that that year they were sitting at 8 and they draft JC horn. And so now you do have to go be aggressive. You've seen all of these retreads. All of these free agents, guys who were thought to be good quarterbacks coming out of college, not paying out if you're the owner tepper into Carolina. So now are you going to make the moves? Are you going to give up what you need to to get a guy like Bryce young? When you look at this draft, I know we're having these conversations about CJ Stroud, who I think is a really good quarterback and probably closer to Bryce young than we give him, but Bryce young's the dude. Yeah. Bryce young is the guy that since he stepped on the field at Alabama has shown that he's head and shoulders above any other quarterback at playing the position and executing it. If you want to go win, if you want to pick one of these dudes that walks into your building and is your quarterback day one, you have to make the move to get Bryce young. Carolina's the place we feel it's set to take one of these young dudes. Right. But will they go get the one right now? I think we all agree Carolina is the best place for any of them. Just in totality, it's gonna be hard for them to probably get up to one. But if you look at the four teams that we're throwing around that should, Indy with Shane steichen, he goes Los Angeles chargers, Justin Herbert, big quarterback, throw it down field a ton, and then Jalen hurts and Philadelphia quarterback run. Probably not exactly how you want to allow Bryce younger thrive. And then we go to Houston under center a little bit with Bobby slo wig from San Francisco. Las Vegas is a team that I go, Josh McDonald is Bill O'Brien. You're talking about a lateral transition scheme wise and the ownership of the line of scrimmage. I'll go back to that Bryce had complete control of it. The Raiders are actually like the best, I guess, schematic. Look at it. Not nearly good enough. I think that's one of the things too. Guys, later on, we're actually going to give you some more surprise teams that we think could try to go up and get Bryce young or maybe another of these quarterbacks. We're going to leave it here for now, but to another story that we've been following here at the combine. Top D line prospects from Georgia, Jalen Carter, returned to Indy after going back to Athens to briefly be booked in jail on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving. The charges are associated with the January deaths of offensive linemen, Devin willock and staff member Chandler LaCroix and surveillance video obtained by ESPN now shows Carter moments before the fatal crash, racing with the vehicle that ended up in what was determined at the time to be a single car wreck. Details continue to come out about this story, but Adam, as we bring Adam Schefter in here in Matt Miller, NFL teams continue their evaluations of Jalen Carter. What

"Show. Eagles lose their offensive and defensive coordinator to the colts and the Arizona cardinal Shane steichen and Jonathan gannon, be my guest, try to figure out which is which if you put the pictures up together and throw in Nick Siri and they all look like they're from the same family. But Shane steichen taking over the colts. Also, this was a topic I had when Jeff Saturday took over as the colts head coach. And he left ESPN. And we had Dan Orlovsky on. And I said, have you talked to Jeff Saturday about coaching with the colts? So that was probably two months ago. I just saw this headline. Dan orlowski discussed coaching jobs with the colts and the Panthers per a report. And I could see it happening. It feels like it's inevitable that Dan Orlovsky will eventually leave the mothership, but he did talk to Jeff Saturday about that possibility of maybe joining him in Indianapolis. Obviously, Saturday didn't get the job. And maybe Dan orlowski will have a job as a quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator down the road. All right, the parade today with the chiefs coming up, we're still waiting on Aaron Rodgers going dark. Zero dark 30. I don't know how many players that we know what they do in the off season. Like Aaron could have done this without us knowing it. As he said yesterday on McAfee show, hey, nobody knows what's going on with me. None of these insiders know. In fact, here's Aaron Rodgers yesterday on the pat McAfee show. I have no problem with the rapper board. I think they're really good their jobs. When it comes to me, they don't know. They really don't. They don't have people in my inner circle who are sources. I can promise you that. And anybody who would talk to them is none of my inner circle. It's that simple. So I've had this planned on the books for four months. For the same time, and when someone like that goes on and says something that's not true, it creates a story that just keeps on going and going and going. Okay, I understand this, but Aaron loves to play with words here.

"What is that higher mean for in your estimation for the ravens and their thought process with Lamar in any way, shape or form? You got anything for me there? Dan? Yeah, I love this for Lamar if he's in Baltimore. And if I was Lamar, I would be sitting there going, that's what I wanted. This is the next generation or evolution of my career. Pro style play color, I know Todd from calling Georgia games rarely smart, totally about like, hey, what do I have? And how do we make those guys work? Really match up based understanding this guy does this stuff well, we're going to feature him in those roles. You know, so I love that for them. I think it's a pro style offense. That's what the Mars thrives in. I still think you would utilize some of the quarterback run. So I love it for and if Lamar is still in Baltimore. I don't know if that is so much impactful as much as it is. It seems like the financial situation in Baltimore. Do you knock on the bear's door to see if in any way, shape or form Justin Fields is available in any way, shape, or form? And knowing knowing who the quarterbacks are coming in, do you think there's anything like that? Or no. No, I still don't think so because as much as I'm loving the next three or four years for Justin. Me too. That's a big role to dice if you're the jets. Taking a second year player, now you're going to a new city, new team, new people, new offense, you know, I think that would be a role to dice. I also, if I'm the bears, you'd have to probably like, I don't know if I'm loving getting rid of a player that freely as a ton of promise right now. So I don't hate the idea which I don't. That makes me cautious with the expectations in New York next season. Well, because I had Justin on my show last week and I point blank said, are you ready for this question to be asked? And I know I'm asking it and I'm not doing that just to create an echo chamber here. I just know the way these works with the talent evaluation portion of the calendar when the team's got a first overall selection, they're going to want the most for that selection if they trade it. And the best way to get the most is to make it seem like they're interested in any quarterback that another team might have to fall in love with, right? So that's the way the niners benefited from that, unfortunately for the bears, fan base, they fell in love with drew Biscay and not mahomes. Right. I mean, that's the benefit for the Paris is they don't have to necessarily go all in by agree with that. Ryan needs Ryan both the GM needs to make everyone think, hey, if I'm taking bright younger whoever, because the butterfly effect is okay, let's look at the world where the jets say X amount of first round picks, great. We're going to give them to you better be dead set on the kid that you do take. Because you feel really good about Justin right now. So I don't know if you're there. Does that quarterback that somebody falls head over here, is that kid in the draft do you think? I don't know how deep you are into that tape. Dan? I can tell you this right now. I've just started this study on. I know it's corny to say, draft day, you know, Santa Mac no matter what price young is so good. Is that right? I mean, he is so good. And I know he's not big. I know he's not. I saw this weekend. Me too. He is so good, man. He's Steph Curry. He Steph Curry, dude. And I get that. It's going to shy teams away, and I understand that it's scary. He can flat out play. He can flat out play and you're going to, I feel so good about how good of a player he is. Turn on the Texas game and just watch him play and tell me if anybody else coming out this year can do what he's doing. So he's that guy. Okay. He's him. Reggie's awesome. He's awesome. Okay. How about that? Dan orlowski, you are too. Thanks for the time, brother. Greatly appreciate it. You'd be well at chat again soon. Thanks again. That's Dan orlowski of ESPN. Let me just say this about Bryce young and I'll. I was at the commissioner party. Somebody said there's Bryce young over there. I'm like, okay, great. I'll go see him. I got ended up being waylaid, but I also couldn't see him from where I was standing about ten feet away. Then it cleared, and I'm like, oh, there he is. Now the question is, who's going to be scared off by that in the NFL? And the only the comp is going to be and he's going to have to deal with this. If people start talking about Bryce young like this, I'm telling you, bears fans hold on your hats if you love Justin Fields because they're going to, they're going to bring them in. It's going to come and I know, you know how much crap we got from bears fans when we posted that video of me talking to Justin Fields saying, hey man, are you ready? I saw it. Are you ready to have this talked about? Because I'll tell you what, I've already said this, if he's available, if this guy is available, Justin Fields is available, clear the decks. And I love Dan orlowski and I trust him. Whereas like a big role of the dice, young kid, new system, new city, clear the decks if you're the jets, that's the guy you want.

With different sizes. It's not even just the surface area. Thank you. Clear my head for the moment. Yes, there's a lot more things that we have to cover in that situation. I will own that. But I enjoy my downtime. Either way, here is Dan orlowski yesterday, and his take on Joe judge's postgame rant. And this is where when you get up there and you use coach speak, you get yourself into trouble in my opinion. I was on an Owen 16 football team. Never once did any of us have our golf clubs out in front. You came from New England. You guys never had to deal with having golf clubs out in front. So what are you even talking about? Your players don't have their golf clubs out in their locker in front of their lockers. That's not a real thing. And then you say, well, I've got guys who are going to be free agents next year coming in saying how much they want to be coming back. Well, you can't say that coach and then say I'm only concerned about the now. I'm only worried about the now. How do you know who is a free agent next year if you are only focused on the now? And then you say guys are calling you. Who? Who left your team last year? The only free agent that I think left the New York Giants is like Wayne Goldman. I don't know who else left your football team in one somewhere else. So you have guys calling you saying that they wish they were there when you guys can't win any football games. So that's when you get up there and you just use that coach speak, you get you lose players. And I said this weeks ago. When you, when you have that persona, that you think that you can talk like Bill Belichick, but don't have the wins. In your cache, that Bill Belichick has, you get tuned out. We want to come in right now a former giant in Chris canty. He, of course, of canty and golic junior here on ESPN radio, he joins us via the Goodyear hotline, Chris. I did not realize that delusion was a county in New Jersey, but apparently Joe judge resides there. Your take. Yeah, listen, no lies told in that ran by Dan orlowski. I mean, there's a lot of coach speak in the postgame press conferences from Bill bell Avi from Joe judge and to echo some of the same sentiment that Dan expressed. He goes up there and he channels his inner Bill Belichick, but he doesn't have the wins on his resume in order to be able to take that kind of tone and to use that type of attack when talking to the media. And by default, being able to address his team. So I think that that's one of those days that you have to be concerned with if your owner John Mayer, if you're Steve Tisch, is with the message that Joe judge is trying to convey to that locker room growing stale because CC the biggest thing that players want in the National Football League and Harry can attest to this is for their coach to be able to give them answers to be able to give them a path to victory every single week and with the 5th rate loss of the giant suffered on Sunday and embarrassing fashion in Chicago. I got to believe that a lot of guys in that locker room have some serious doubts as to whether or not Joe judge could put them in the right positions in order to win football games. You want 100% right, Chris. It's a show me world. You can sell me anything. Don't tell me what you want to tell me. Show me what you want to do. And I can see by your actions. I can see what you're teaching me. It go to the practice field, then it go from the practice field to the game feel. If it's not doing those things, then how am I even sold on you as a player? I don't know how. No, you can't be sold on them. And listen, you're starting to see some of the execution or lack thereof become an issue for the Giants, right? We saw it on the first snap of the game against the bears, Travis Gibson, sat force fumble, unblocked player those things can't happen on the first play of the game. Two weeks ago, the first play of the game against the eagles, you're talking about a screen and saquon Barkley, you have two offensive players at the point of attack on the perimeter. They don't block the defenders at the point of the text for the eagles. They go to the third level and try to block the safety. It just makes no sense when you just look at the lack of execution and that speaks directly to the coaching while you can make all of these excuses for Joe judge and talk about the roster and the personnel and not having a talent, but there are

"So many routes. Keyshawn J weller max on ESPN radio and ESPN2 Chris Garland Harry Douglas and for the fellas today. Here was Dan orlowski yesterday with you and Allen Hahn and for the guys on why the cowboys are not that good in his opinion. I don't think there's a single part of the Dallas Cowboys that I trust. Honestly, I really don't. I think yesterday they're stars did not play like stars in critical moments. I saw it drops by Zeke Pollard or Zeke and Tony Pollard. I saw missed throws on third down by deck Prescott. I saw massive penalties. I saw missed blocks by their offense. I saw their star cornerback, get beat on a double move. So I think there's stars didn't play like stars in critical moments. And then I think they have very little discipline and critical moments. I counted 8 penalties. 8 penalties and critical moments yesterday. Absolutely brutal. When that is the number in those situations. And then there's the head coach. We have been critical of Mike McCarthy. A lot of people have, but justifiably so, like almost literally chapter in verse, there is a list of situations where he has been bad. In fact, one of our producers have been sent this yesterday with pointing out week two chargers. Let's time check off the clock. None of his coaches could see the clocks. Week three, eagles up 20 to 7 at the end of the half. Let's a minute and 20 seconds run off the clock. Week 6 week 15, week 17. At some point when that is your trend, your head coach is hurting you. He is not even not helping you. He's not even neutral. He is hurting you, Harry. Okay, Chris, you want to know another thing I was taught to on talking on the level of the penalties and the Dallas Cowboys leading the National Football League right now. I was always taught either it's being coached that way or the head coaches allowing it to happen. For them to be the number one team in penalties right now, that is terrible. And either Mike McCarthy's coaching it that way, or he's allowing it to continue on. But they better get it fixed. Look, I don't think they will. I fully believe the cowboys will be an early or second round exit. I could absolutely see that being the case. It's keyshawn J will and max. "Me. Tennessee Titans currently sitting atop as the one scene in the AFC. Looking to lock up that spot and a first round buy in week 18. Titans are expected to have Derek Henry at practice Wednesday, but it's a long shot to see him this weekend. He has been Diana rossini. The thought process is they want to make sure he's a 100%. There's really no reason to push it. We know that if they beat the use in Texas, they're going to lock up that number one speed in the AFC and of course they're going to want to want that first round by. But it's sort of looking at it as is it worth the risk though of perhaps a reinjuring that that foot. But that doesn't seem to be the case in terms of what I can gather, I don't get the sense that he's going to be playing in this game. I get to sense that he's back at practice as just another step towards his return for the playoff. One key factor for this weekend, the artificial turf in Houston versus the natural grass in Tennessee if the Titans hold him out until the postseason. The browns are holding out Baker Mayfield. Actually, he's having surgery on his shoulder, he'll miss the season finale. He's having the torn labrum on his non throwing shoulder repaired, as ESPN's Michelle steel notes, he goes out after going down often in the Monday night loss. It was painful to watch. There's TJ watt. And there's Shaq number four for one. Are you going to give dame Dayton Hudson a rookie some help? Against the guy who's one of the baddest pass rushers in the NFL? One day after brown's quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked 9 times. Was intercepted twice after he failed to complete a pass on ten consecutive throws at one point during a 26 to 14 loss to the Steelers on Monday Night Football, brown's head coach, Kevin Stefanski, addressed the media today about Mayfield. Baker won't play in this last game, we're going to hold him out. He's going to get going to get surgery scheduled and really as soon as possible. Obviously frustrated for him, but just felt like that was the right thing to do for right now. Mayfield will not play the final game of the regular season against a red hot Cincinnati Bengals team instead he'll be having surgery to fix an injury he had been dealing with since week two. A torn labrum in his non throwing left shoulder. Mayfield missed one game due to the shoulder injury and Stefanski defended his decision not to give his quarterback more rest. It's a fair question, but I would just tell you, each one of those weeks and those days, when we made those decisions, you're just going off of the information that's available to you. After leading the browns to a playoff birth in the 2020 season, Mayfield has had to contend with injuries to his shoulder, knee and foot. In addition to just generally inconsistent play on the field, the browns did exercise Mayfield's 5th year contract option for 2022, which would pay him $18.9 million, but the browns could very well consider an upgrade at that position in the off season, Stefanski actually deflected when asked to assess Mayfield season thus far only reiterating that he was quote frustrated for baker to not be able to finish the season. I'm Michelle Steele, ESPN. So he's having surgery now so he can be healthy for 2022. But where will he be? In 2022, ESPN analyst danilovsky. I would not be shocked if last night was the last time Baker Mayfield plays for the Cleveland Browns. After kind of what, how this season played out and then hearing the comments from baker, which were the first time I heard them, and then hearing his coach Kevin Stefanski go. It's conflict. Yeah, like that, there is conflict. And the thing that I think matters is if the browns want out, they have justifiable reason now because of the performance on the field. Okay. The regression this year from baker was shocking. And I'm a baker guy. You got right? Shocking. Baker Mayfield has been playing with his shoulder injury and his non throwing shoulder since week two admitted after the Monday night lost to the Steelers that he was pretty beat up. He was as Michelle Steele noted sacked 9 times in that game Dan orlowski thinks it's possible that Mayfield's done. That sentiment also evident in Ohio, Aaron goldhammer from ESPN Cleveland. Well, I think bakers played his last game as a brown. So I don't even think this is about competition. I think that he's just toast. In part because I think the browns are ready to move on and in part because I think he wants a change of scenery, which I think you'll see that take place here. Over the course of the next couple of weeks. So then the browns have to come up with a better answer. And my guess is guys, it'll come from one or two places. Now, the draft thing is really dicey this year. The browns could end up with a top ten pick, but there are no top ten quarterbacks in this draft, I don't think. And I think what's most likely is there's a second tier of guys that come available in the Derek Carr Matt Ryan conversation. And I would bet on one of those guys being the starting quarterback of the browns next year. Baker Mayfield, having surgery, he'll miss the final game for Cleveland. Should he be in the MVP discussion? That's next at ESPN radio. Grady, with Mike Greenberg. In the playoffs, can you imagine if they're in the freaking NBA Finals and he's only playing road games? "The Boston pro sports and look it's a great time, right? The bruins marching towards the playoffs sell its external playoffs, Red Sox, season starting. There's a lot happening right now. We still have a lot of free agents out there, akeem hicks, Trey flowers, honey badger, people are still out there, things can happen aside from all of that good information that you can get. You also get with a membership. A ton of video analysis that bedard does in the coach's film and bedard wrote about devonta Parker this week and broke down some film. Davis next. Oh, there you go. How about that? And you got direct access to him in weekly chats as well. Jackie treehorn has a question. Greg, is there a reason to think? Joe judge will be coaching wide receivers, as opposed to Troy Brown. So this was a question that came from my Devante Parker breakdown and I talked about the number one job for the wide receiver coach and I mentioned Joe judge and I wasn't, I wanted to answer this question just because I wasn't really thinking. I mean, I was more thinking about Parker. In my mind, I'm like, Joe judge was a wide receiver's coach. Last time he was here. But from what we know, the pieces that we know, Joe judge is probably going to coach quarterbacks or be involved with the quarterbacks. He might be from what I hear, Nick from the owners meetings, and we didn't talk about this last week. From what I heard. The scuttlebutt is Joe judge is going to be the pass game coordinator and Matt Patricia is going to be the run game coordinator. Offensive line, run game coordinator, Joe judge is going to be either quarterbacks or wide receivers slash pass game coordinator. So I just wanted to make that point to everybody and get that out there. Very interesting. Joe judge pass game coordinator. Patricia run game coordinator. I don't know how I feel about this. If somebody told you that ten years ago, or they say 6 or 7 years ago, they're going to be like, in 2023, you're going to have a second year first round quarterback. And guess what, Matt Patricia is going to be the run game coordinator Joe judge is going to be a pass game coordinator. You'd be like, what? Depending on what happens over the next week. I think next week, let's just kind of keep this in mind. I think drilling down on the offensive staff and Mac Jones. And I know Dan orlowski, we don't have enough time to get to it today, but in Alaska, he talked about how it's his biggest worry and the NFL's biggest concern this year is who is surrounding Mac Jones and I'll just say this. There have been quarterbacks in the past that have had to go through a lot of different change and have still been able to remain successful and take a step forward. Now, as Matt going to be one of those guys, I don't know. You know, that's more the anomaly. You would like to have a coaching staff and consistency and play calling and all of that stuff for a young quarterback..

"Spending time with us. Welcome into Friday Eve. It is time now for the MIC dropped with this morning's Mike Gavin. Didn't good morning. Well, another week of NFL football is upon us. So here are a couple of football or at least football adjacent stories. This one isn't funny, but at least it has a happy ending. Some fantasy football players obviously need to take things down a few notches after the wife of an injured player says she got sent heartless social media messages. Devin Mustard is the wife of 49 ers running back where he mustered Who was injured in the Niners first game on Sunday and had season ending surgery this week to repair his knee. Devin describes some of the vile messages series she received after her husband's injury potentially lost some fantasy football players some money. There is a bright sign, however, after Devin posted about the bad messages, she says the couple then got an outpouring of love and support. She thanked those who have sent words of encouragement to her family and promised her husband's comeback is quote going to be legendary some of social media at its worst. Yes, well, this is what happens when you start spending too much money on these kind of things, You know you put, you know hundreds and thousands of dollars into these fantasy leagues like people do now and then, you know, one person. Gets injured in the first game. They're out for the whole year. That could potentially mess up your whole season and losing a bunch of money and people get a little nuts. So did you as a fantasy football player. Send a message to Mrs Muster. Yeah, no, no, I didn't think that I would do now. Now, Here's Here's Why my closure. He was not on my team. But no, that would not be something I would do. And here's why, Yes, you did not. Reach out to Mrs Mustard. Besides the fact that he's not on your team, right? Yes. You have a life. Well, sure, That's why people do. These types of things don't have a life yes, and again again, probably risking too too much of their lives and livelihood for these things. I'm a big believer. If you have a social media account, you should have your name on there. Who you work for, you be should be fully identifiable because anonymity on social media. Is just a pointless waste. You have said that many times before, And it seems to saying that ESPN football analyst Dan Orlovsky is a man of many talents. First, he played 12 seasons as a quarterback in the NFL. Then he transitioned to TV and has become one of the network's signature faces. But his greatest talent, maybe in a different arena. Orlowski is colleague. Many kinds posted a video to Twitter this week that it's gone viral. Showcasing the former QB s ability to do a spot on impression of a dog..

It's Jason Cole Guys, NFL insider author of Elway and relentless life, which I'm going to ask you a question about Elway here in just a little bit, But I want to. I want to ask you about Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Now that it's all been resolved, everybody's happy. Sure they just They just pick right up where they were. They get back to it right. Everything's going to work out. All depends on what your definition of working out is right. Get back to the playoffs. NFC Championship Super Bowl. Well, I mean, that's a high wire act, um, get back to the playoffs. Adam C Championship game. Right then all of a sudden you're talking about, you know, bounces the ball changing the game and stuff like that. That's not going to resolve the fact that looking in Roger's not happy now, an unhappy Aaron Rodgers can be a good thing, right? I mean, we saw an unhappy Aaron Rodgers last year, um, having M V p season and he's fully capable of doing that again. Care of the downside with Aaron Rodgers has gotten hurt over the course of his career. So there's some, you know there's some injury risk with him. All that said, Look, I expect the Packers to be good. And I expect this. You know, I think everything will come together from them Barring injury, you know, in the usual the usual factors ago with NFL and the NFL team do I expect that they're going to make the Super Bowl? I put him in that group of four or five teams in the NFC that have a really good shot at it. But experts expecting it. I don't know about that. I'm not. I'm not willing to go that far. Um I just think that this is going to be look. The whole Aaron Rodgers mess him versus Brian did comes and ultimately him against Matt LaFleur in some respects, because well floor is the guy who pushed for the drafting of Jordan Love. That's not going away like we haven't heard the last of that. It's just quieted down for now, the next sign of tension that you get like a two game losing streak or bad loss. Somewhere along the line. All that is going to rear its ugly had and we're going to be talking about Where's Aaron Rodgers playing next year? Mm. It's Jason Cole Guys. NFL insider here on CBS Sports Radio Carl Dukes. Let's talk about the Rams. How much better the Stafford make the Rams in your opinion? Like messed effort is, um He's you know, he's your fantasy football quarterback. He's also the guy who If you go to the carnival Is going to be the guy who can hit Knock over the knock over one of those lettered waited bottles. Remember the ones that you know? But, you know, never get knocked down. He can do all that stuff. I love this offseason story that Dan Orlovsky related about when he was playing with Stafford. And his the back up there, and they were looking at some throw. And Orlowski is like I can't make that throne or and you know, Stafford basically allow some, You know, it's like it's a throw through a tire from 40 yards away. Super Yes, really tough, High wire act. And staffers like, Well, I got to be all I can make that throw. Well, yeah, you can. But can you make the easy throws in situations that Make your winner. Because it's not just about the circus throws. And master effort can do that. He can change arm angles You can do all sorts of amazing things was Army young, Amazing arm talent. You put up a great step. Can you make the team around You better because that's ultimately what the whole point of this exercise is. Can you win games? And Matt Stafford. And I know people like to blame the lions, and they should just like I was Making fun of you know, Brown's management under has one Um, it's easy to make fun of, you know, Detroit management under the Ford family for, uh, for forever. There's a reason that they don't win ultimately, management However, they did have talent around Matt Stafford, and they didn't really have the kind of success that they should have had. So why am I expecting that guys? All of a sudden going to make a big change? With the Rams, especially when they're missing. Their most important running back can makers for the season, the guy who was the closest thing they had to Todd Gurley since Todd Gurley was in his product. I don't know that they become a lot better this year. I think they're huge disappointment. Unless their defense is just completely lights out. And it was. It was good last year, the best defense but they lost some pieces. You're absolutely right. Jason Cole, NFL insider. I keep hearing all these things about Nick Sirianni, his communication hands on his energy. Oh, he's got a incredible memory and you know, he treats people with like family. Is he going to be successful with the Eagles in your opinion? All right. He's one of those guys who, um We'll see how they survived a bad season. Uh We'll see if he's able to keep the players on board. And, more importantly, is he able to keep how he Roseman And Jeff Laurie on board, right because those guys take their very hands on So if the gym and the owner or okay with him, I think he's got a chance..

"With two uh it's the same thing. Maybe not for Super Bowl expectations, but, hey, this is a good roster and, uh, you know, It's on you. Yeah, right. Yeah, I think with with Mayfield Yeah. You know what may feel like this year for the Browns. I would assume would feel like maybe last year for the bills. You know, Um, I'm thinking more about Pittsburgh. I don't necessarily want to forget about Baltimore. But if you're if you're if you're a Browns fan, and the pressure is on Baker Mayfield, partly because he also is waiting for the big contract. But A little bit different for him, Jeremy because he's had Josh Allen's career has been going up right. A steady climb upward. Mayfield was, you know, up and down, right, Goodyear? Bad year better year and you would look at all the pieces in place. Say Okay, So you had two good years out of three. You have finally a good coach who has helped the offense you have. You know, last year they built up your offensive line. Now they're you know, they're trying to bolster have bolstered the defense. I should say you get Odell Beckham back Pittsburgh. If I'm a Browns fan, I'm looking at Pittsburgh going even then, even though bends back your days are done like your You're not. You're not the king of the of the division anymore. I'm not even sure if you make the playoffs like we we even beat you last year, So we got the curse off our back. So I think if you're the Browns, there's pressure on them because this is supposed to be the year where Baker does show he's year. One year three guy, not you're, too. That was Freddie Kitchens fault. See, that was all Freddie kitchens fault, So he's got to be that guy, and they have to win. The division they dispatched with Pittsburgh now beat Baltimore. This is a complete Brown's team. We are supposed to finally win a division title and break through like the Bills did last year in this division, so I think I think that's the pressure on Mayfield Win the division have the big breakthrough with Josh. It's Okay. This team can win a Super Bowl this year and who else was on the list? Do I get to would make sense to me because again, you know, Miami's put together a good team. They went out and made a big play to help our well too big moves to help his receiving corps. Um, floors has done a really nice job down there. I don't know if they're thinking they beat out the bills for the division. But they need tour to make this a playoff team this year, so I get him being under pressure. Because you know, they benched him a couple times last year in game for Fitzpatrick, So I I buy the two of stuff. Yeah, and then Stafford, and once you and I, both last week, we played a game of who is the most interesting player in the league and we both, said Stafford because of his scenario, I don't want to say that. I think Carson Wentz is the least interesting player in the league, but he's just Consistently. Not on my radar, you know? Okay, we'll see how it goes. Yeah, the it felt it always felt like whenever the you know the show. Dan Orlovsky makes this list They're talking went and they were arguing about when so I think this player is not compelling enough for me to even care. I don't know For whatever reason, I just Okay. We're arguing about Carson once again. Okay. After after Indianapolis, Like we'll see how it goes, right? I think the Wentz if without having seen Orlowski is explanation. I am going to guess the Wednesday thing He got what he wanted. That's what it is. You got what you wanted. You got the coach you wanted to work with. You're going to a good team. Perfect scenario. You got everything you wanted, right right there in better shape than the Eagles. You're going to a team that was in the playoffs last year. You're going to a team that Could win their division this year. It's not going to be Houston. It's not going to be Jacksonville. So can you beat out Tennessee you with the coach who was on the staff in Philly? The last time you had some success? Um, there are good weapons. It's a really good offensive line. They put together a good defense. You have a good running game, so everything is in place around you. And there's you know, again, you're coming into a playoff team. You're not taking over a team that's rebuilding and all this other stuff. They were opposed Season team and they were. They were tough out. Of course. So I think I understand his thing on whence Because if Indianapolis doesn't make the playoffs if they don't take another step, it's in all likelihood, because whence wasn't good enough and what's the out now? You can't blame it on Doug Peterson. You can't blame it on. Well. The guy was always getting sacked. The Eagles offensive line was one of the worst in the league. The Colts might be the best offensive line in the league. So it's all I mean, If the cold season fails, I'm going to guess it's all because it's going to be on went his shoulders. His their success or failure is Well, how does Carson Wentz look? You know you could pick India to win the division over Tennessee. Maybe you think the culture better football team and the question will be all right. This one's look like you did a couple of years ago. Or does it look like last year when he was shell shocked? And that's why I think the Carson Wentz name is on the list. I'm guessing from Arlovski. I don't think there's anybody else I thought Jamis Winston was a good guess. I really thought he would be facing a lot of pressure because it's New Orleans. They've won. They have. You know you're working with a head coach who is considered right one of the better offensive minds in the league. They had all that success under breeze. I I know they had some cap issues, but it's not like I don't believe they had to blow up the entire roster because of the cap. And Winston to me as a guy who is under pressure to come in and keep New Orleans in the playoffs right away and what you would look at and go. That's the right, coach. This is a good place to be okay, Jamous. You know, we like the 30 touchdown part. We don't like the 30 interception part. This is tailor made for you to have some success working with Sean Payton. That's what I thought Winston was a pretty solid bet. I'm surprised he wasn't in the in the top 51 of the big story from today. The n I l floodgates are open name, image and likeness. Yeah. And It is interesting to see how the schools so this is the athletes can profit off their name, image and likeness. How they are responding to this. Ls used tweet was very interesting. So I mean, that's obviously a very big brand school. All that stuff, right? Yep. Ellis you I've got to find it was else you were at LSU football, They tweeted out. A picture of like they're here you go..

"The packers drafted jordan love. Their their outline of an idea was that the transition would occur in twenty twenty two. At that point aaron rodgers they could move on. We could get into the salary cap details. Don't have to but twenty twenty two was the goal. They weren't anticipating having to play jordan. Love in twenty twenty one so because of the fact that he didn't get those reps last year and they may have to accelerate his timetable. That's why that's going on in practice right now where it leads. Are they going to be able to start. 'em aaron rodgers doesn't show up. They don't know that yet but they have to give him the best possible chance to get ready and that means a ton of reps this week the most important thing and then our lower scale let you finish it up here but graciana the most important thing are the packers any closer to believing they need to trade him today than they were on monday. The packers are right now. As dug in as aaron rodgers is on what we described earlier as a game of chicken and right now they are their stances. What mike tannenbaum has articulated. Look if you wanna play football still. It's going to have to be us. And if aaron rodgers willing to sit out training camp if he's willing to sit out regular season games maybe then the packers perspective changes but so far nothing has happened to force that change all right orlowski so much to unpack. What are you thinking. Yeah okay first of all. Mike t i'll get you a q. Tip no one is sitting. You're saying you shouldn't draft a quarterback. Everyone is setting. You can talk to the quarterback that you have about doing so second of all book. I love you your sitting. I don't judge the player but you think the accuracy is going to get better when we've got humans like you trying to rip our faces off like the accuracy should be a really strong point. Not as i get not judging the player but that shouldn't be the the the takeaway men jordan love is still inaccurate. When we're in t shirts and shorts and graziano. I know he's your summer vacation. Buddy brian goodwin coups but at the end of the day. I can gary if you asked him this question. Do if you could go back in time and rethink that decision. If you could go sit there with the glass of wine and listen to share and go if i could turn back time pick. I promise you he would go. No i would not have selected jordan love in the first round if i knew it was going to lead us to this today. I mean the guy is leaves in. He shows up an hour after the show starts and now he's bring nonsense. I mean i don't know what the deal is with brian. Gouda but if you go back and look at your best friends pick. You had a thirty six year old quarterback coming homeboys his worst. qbr seasons. And you're thinking about what happens when he leaves. I don't think that's necessarily bad. Gm and you don't have to be a friend. I don't know brian gouda 'cause i've talked to him a couple of times. You don't have to be a friend of that. Does not the wrong way to run your franchise. I have to take a break on that thought to share song. He should've been singing..

"And that is That the one thing that has been said to me probably more frequently than anything else since I became whatever degree of famous it is that I am since the time in my life that people started recognizing me. If only because I have a voice that is somewhat distinctive and my face has been on television effort 25 years with my name under it. The one thing people say more to me than anyone else's. You know, you're bigger than I thought you'd be. Everyone always thought I was this little tiny person, and the reason for that is pretty simple. I spent 18 years sitting next to an enormous person. Mike Golic was six ft five and for the majority of our partnership weighed well over £300. So when you're sitting next to him, you look small. I've always had a little bit of a chip on my shoulder regarding that. I'm not a small guy. So yesterday. I go to a charity golf outing. My wife is on the board of a wonderful charity called Horizons, and they had their golf outing yesterday, and that's where I was. And I bring Dan Orlovsky is part of my crew. My guests are two of my agents from CIA and Dan Orlovsky. So stay sense to me because she's this way. Make sure you take a picture and send it to me. So I take a picture Me and Orlowski. I pay no attention to it. It's actually one of the agents Mike Levine vino. They call them takes the picture and text it to my wife. She posts it. It's on her Twitter page at Stacy Gsg. In this picture. Dan Orlovsky. Looks like he's my dad. I look like I'm kneeling. He's so much taller than me in this picture. And everyone said Now I don't know anything has happened here, right? This is before we even tee off. So, like, seven hours later, I get home and stay says to me. You know, everyone on Twitter is joking about how short you look in the picture. And I say, Well, what good is that doing me now? You have to see this. I look so small. Well let the record show Daniel Glovsky is six, ft six. He is very tall and I think I must be standing at a whole you I hope because the top of my hat is not even up to his chin. And he's not that much taller than me to be clear. Like Yao Ming. Is that much taller than me. Dan Orlovsky is not AM six FT. Tall We measured me once on Mike and Mike because people didn't believe it. We pour out a tape measure in front of an audience. I was five ft 11 and three quarters inches tall. That's how tall I am. And in this picture is if you're on Twitter go to add Stacy Gsg, You'll see Orlovsky looks like like I'm one of his sons. He's had nine year olds like all of us, and I'm wonderful among them. Yes, it's like it's like we're showing up to our little League baseball game and I'm hoping to pitch today. Look, Sparky. It is very, very upsetting. We'll be right back. Green Bay Packers. Many camp is underway and where in the world is Aaron Rodgers. We will be talking about it. Carson Wentz Says Goodbye To Philadelphia Eagles, Welcomes Fresh Start With Indianapolis Colts
"Carson. Wentz officially introduced as a colts. Now that we're day into the new league year and went hoping for world. Class makeover in indy with frank reich. Who made a big bet on wins putting his career on the line bringing the quarterback. They were an excellent match before the colts. Well built around wins. So here's what went said today about his fresh start. You know you gotta just be intentional. One by one build those relationships and like you said respect is earned not giving so. I look forward to earning a lot of guys respect and You know i i. I'm confident that that will happen. Go trike. I'll never forget when i was working out in fargo north dakota before the draft. It was an instant that we just had this connection on how we see the game and how he challenge each other and ultimately make each other better super excited about getting to work with him again. Because i have the utmost respect for the man that he is also. The coach. study is as well guys here with you for the next hour as well as schefty didn't orlowski. Marcus spears matt miller will join us for a little draft talk later but let's get back to what we just heard from. Carson wentz introduced today. Dan alaska simply is this. How does he move. Forward was carson wentz's success this year. We'll start off the field. There are more questions than answers about him right now. So how is it going to turn the bad of last year into the good this year. What did you learn when it comes to relationships. How are you going to be better at relationships. How are you going to be better at leadership. How are you going to be better at handling the adversity off the field. I mean he just talked about earning the respect of his teammates and in the locker room. Think about this. He can go into that locker right now. This is what i would do if i was him. Sit down with those new coach teammates. How did philip rivers do it. Filled came from a different team and he came down year. What did he do. Endeared himself to you guys how did he earned your respect. What's what's stuff that that clicked with you guys because the reality is you don't have to sit here and say that you've got to be somebody or not. You can still be the genuine authentic person that you are but the reality is you should be ever changing. You should be ever-growing. And i liked the fact that he said. I've got to be intentional because the truth is this when september comes. No one cares about your excuses. Excuses or explanations you've got to figure out in the next five months in the midst of unique off season again how to earn. How do prove to your teammates that you're the guy proved to your teammates that you will take over this locker room and become part of it. That's his biggest challenge and once he realizes that off the field is equally if not more important on the field. That's when he can start to rebuild his career. Yeah no doubt. I think self awareness as well like the indianapolis colts need carson wentz to come and fix them as a football team he needs to. They need him to come. Add to what they already have going already building. And there's a amount of pressure on carson winston. He never felt in philly because of the situation. And he walks into. And they are frank reich as well like frank reich has attached is job to carson wentz internally him around and making him the quarterback that that can get team to where they think they can go but india set. They have a good offense around. Obviously they make moves at tackle. They have a good running back. Good receivers a defense that at the top level of the nfl last year. so carson winston is not coming into a bad situation this is a rehab for carson wins. This is not a rehab for the indianapolis colts. He needs to be aware aware of that as well. And look i wish and hope that carson wentz turns this thing around and has a lot of success. I'm just going to sit back and see how he handles the pressure. Because now you're on a playoff team. You're around got dairies. Linda put it out there right here to win. Don't care about what you have to say don't care about your past that these that transpired pencil tired about if you're going to come play for the indianapolis colts come to win. So there's a lot on the line of course a wins but there's also a lot on the line for the indianapolis colts football team as far as where they wanna go and a hell of a lot of framed right for sticking his neck out there to say i'm the guy that can get the carson that we saw in twenty seventeen. And if he is. The indianapolis colts are absolutely a legit super bowl contender.

"FM and am a 20 NPR News and the New York conversation. Thistles. All of it. I'm Alison Stewart. The storming of Capitol Hill was largely organized on social media, The New York Times reported. The groups like you and on and the proud boys, bolstered by President Trump have openly organized and recruited online. This summer during the Black lives matter, protests and movement for racial Justice. Facebook took down hundreds of accounts associated with far right extremist groups, including the proud boys and American guard. And yesterday, Facebook announced its ban on President Trump's account would last at least until he leaves office. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's CEO, posted a statement saying quote We believe the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great. Digital platforms connect us to friends, family and strangers. But behind the scenes, these platforms are also influencing the very nature of our communication and interactions. And a documentary posits that this is an existential threat. Social dilemma features industry insiders, critics and whistle blowers who offer testimony an insight into how the business of Silicon Valley takes advantage of human psychology and affects our behavior both online and off. As one person says. In the film. The only businesses that call clients users are social media companies and drug dealers. Indy wires. David Ehrlich went so far as to call it quote a horrifyingly Good doc about how social media will kill us all. Director Jeff Orlowski joined us to discuss the social dilemma. When it premiered on Netflix. In September. I asked him what he thought about the reviews, the documentary had received precedent, I think really understanding what we're trying to say with so That you know, our our engineers in Silicon Valley aren't just programming software. They're actually at this stage where their programming civil relations. With code that hiding on the other side of our screen that we don't understand the public and it is changing the way we see the world. What was the genesis of this, doc? What did the original idea come from? Income, you know? Well, I think my team and I we've we've been working on chicken, Nice and chasing coral are past films that were about climate change, literally thinking about what is the big issues affecting humanity. And a couple years ago I had in mind from college Trust on Harris. Are you talking about what he saw as a problem within the tech industry. He was a Google and he was probably thinking about how the software designed to the minute And he and I started talking sports and more and it kind of beat other people. And I started diving into this. Really, This is Paris existent, but climate change this is you know, this is a climate change of culture. This is framing the way each and every person think it sees and gets a patient because of the business model because it's driven by advertising. They've just these systems up that give us what you think we're looking for and end up in the feed backwards. Where were being said the same information over and over, But it's customized view of the world. It's moved us away from an objective truth, and it's been pushing us and work and work ports. Um we're just would have worked enough. Yeah, one of the stark examples that you give in the film You show that if you type a certain question into a search engine Depending on where you live depends with the suggestions. Come up. Can you explain that this was this was one of the most startling kind of slaps in the face for me. Um, if you type in the phrase climate change is And see what auto souls what's gonna would just send what it thinks you're looking for. You get answers that are all across the board based on you are where you are. What Google knows about you. What? It's the same thing about you and the answers are completely separated from the truth. Um And this is something that you know, as as a team we've spent so much time working on climate change is trying to raise awareness. We kept finding climate deniers all around the country. We could go to film festivals and go on tour and And find climate deniers everywhere and it was always likely. How is this possible sites of so clear? We understand this. We know what's going on. Why you're something people. Refusing to embrace the science and and this. It sort of felt connected the dots that made sense. People are being set different information through these platforms, so it makes it impossible to have showed consented. That makes it impossible for us to move on. Climate solutions if a huge percentage of the public doesn't think that it's happening. That's why I look at this is a foundational issue an issue beneath all of our other issues. Because whatever issue you care about You might be seeing a particular world view via your social media platforms in your search engine. But there's somebody who's getting in opposing worldview. Reinforced to them that is counter to yours. And if we have, you know, we've been running this experiment like this for about a decade now, and it makes it harder and harder to come together and have Meaningful societal conversations around what we should do about the problems if everybody's coming to the table with a different set of facts. The whole idea that search engines aren't objective. A little bit of a mind blower? Yeah. That was really shocking to me. And and I fully recognize what Google's trying to organize all of the information on the Internet, So you're getting a search and you're looking for something. Um, it gives you different results. Vinick is me It's not, and I think that's that's where It doesn't need to be that way. But the personalization aspects of these platforms. They seemed so innocent at the start, but they really really drifted into a different type of Frankenstein. I guess it Jeffrey Lasky, He's the director of the social dilemma. It is out on Netflix today. So one of the great things about this documentary is that you interview and talk to people who have been in the trenches have been in there since the beginning. Let's listen to a clip these air some introductions off some of the people that are featured in the film The social dilemma. Worked at.

Scuba Shack Radio
Chasing Coral
"The documentary chasing Coral premiered in July 2017 and it is a powerful film and since we've been talking about coral reef conservation at the shop thought it would be good to do a review of chasing Coral here on scuba Shack Radio. I watched it again a few days ago and it was just as impactful as the first time I saw. The documentary was conceived by Richard veevers who is currently CEO of the ocean agency. Richard worked at a top London advertising agency before he got involved with a passion on Ocean conservation. He was working on a project called Excel Caitlin Seaview survey regarding images of coral reefs that's where he started to understand the impacts of coral bleaching. Around this time. He watched a documentary called Chasing Ice produced by Jeff orloski and chasing Coral was born. I thought I'd give some key statistics on what it took to put together chasing Coral first. It took about three years to shoot over 500 hours of incredible underwater footage off. There were Thirty countries contributing to the documentary and more than 500 volunteers involved just an incredible effort. The film won the People's Choice Award for best documentary at the Sundance Film Festival and the 2018 Emmy for Outstanding nature documentary. Jeff Orlowski was originally from Staten Island, New York. He went to Stanford to study anthropology got into filmmaking and worked on the Extreme Ice survey that turned into Chase nice in 2009. He found it exposure Labs a production company focused on socially relevant issues. So chasing Coral is really about the quest to document with imagery a coral bleaching event. By reviewing what was happening at carries forward Reef in in the Florida Keys and at airport Reef in America Samoa. They determined that they would need to build a viable underwater time lapse camera. That's when they go to a company in Boulder. Colorado called view into the blue and they were going to build a housing. That would keep it self clean. It just so happens the exact Rego works at view Into the Blue. He describes himself as a coral nerd and becomes a main player in the documentary. With the cameras developed, they deploy to Hawaii Bermuda and the Bahamas and they put down their cameras and wait a couple months to get the images. It's a failure. The images are out of focus a lost opportunity. It's back to the drawing board to fix the problems before their next attempt. The next opportunity is on the Great Barrier Reef. They head out deploy their cameras and wait a large typhoon impacts their plans. So they read the place to another Island lizard Island, but they aren't able to take any of their special cameras the team needs to do time lapse manually that means going out every day setting up the camp exactly as before and getting the photos painstaking and exhausting after more than a hundred days. They complete the work over that timeframe. The coral has bleached died and his overgrown by algae Zack is extremely emotional at this incredible loss. It's crazy to think of water temperatures at 95° Fahrenheit, but that's what it was dead. Another team went to New Caledonia where they observed an amazing phenomenon fluorescent corals an attempt to Shield itself from the temperatures an amazing sight am amazing colors just before bleaching extremely sad to see the corals stunning last gasps. The documentary continues with Zach and Richard presenting their work at the international coral reef Symposium in Hawaii the time lapse photography of the coral reef dying over a two-month period of dramatic and overpowering the reaction of the attendees demonstrates the sadness. The film wraps up with Jack diving with one of his Heroes doctor Charlie Verona Pioneer in Coral research and conservation. They are diving on a beautiful unimpacted part of the reef off Charlie reflects back on maybe he didn't do enough. Maybe we all need to do more. Corals are being assaulted on many fronts not just climate change but pollution sunscreen and carelessness citizens are trying and we need our governments to act as well. Perhaps a new day is Dawning. If you haven't yet seen chasing Coral. You can find it on Netflix. Please find a time. You won't be disappointed. If you've already watched it believe me. It's worth watching again. We can't let them
