"Louis, the 19 year old gunman who killed a teenager and an adult at a magnet school had an AR-15 style rifle on him and more than 600 rounds of ammo, the St. Louis police commissioner says the shooter Orlando Harris also left behind a handwritten note offering his explanation for the rampage, the young man lamented he had no friends, no family, no girlfriend and a life of isolation. Police killed Harrison an exchange of gunfire. Do you like where you work? When it comes to D.C. public school teachers only one in 5 are satisfied with their jobs. That's the takeaway from a new survey by the Washington teachers union. The study of more than 600 union members found just 21% of teachers say they're very or fairly satisfied with current working conditions. They point to what they say is a lack of time to meet their responsibilities, increased workloads and decreased staffing, nearly all teachers said their school has staff retention and a recruitment problems. The poll was done in September. It's got a four point margin of error. Maryland's test scores in math and reading had seen declines starting in 2013. Now the question is, what's being done to reverse the trend? Maryland state senator Paul Penske who leads a Senate committee on education and helped push through the state's education reform plan known as the blueprint for Maryland's future, says there are no quick fixes to address the drop in reading and math scores on the tests known as the nation's report card. But he does say there are elements in the plan like intensive tutoring and teacher training programs designed to help. When we talk about increasing and improving teacher quality attracting retaining high quality teachers, that won't happen overnight. Kate Ryan, WTO P news

"Some mistakes were made. Not born of ill will or bad intentions. Quite the opposite, in fact, that mistakes none the less. And I have been elected as leader of my party. And your prime minister, in part, to fix them. Britain's third premiere in two months is likely to spend the rest of the day appointing and reappointing members of his cabinet. In St. Louis, a former student broke into central visual and performing arts high school yesterday, fatally shooting two and wounding 6 others. The suspected gunman was shot and killed by police, interim police commissioner of the St. Louis police department, Mike sack. The suspect in this incident is Orlando Harris, 19 years of age, graduated from the high school last year. He lives with family members, and he has no prior criminal history. Police commissioner Sachs says there are suspicions Harris had some mental illness. A Russian court today rejected an appeal by WNBA star Brittany griner against her 9 year sentence for drug smuggling. The ruling means grinder will leave pre trial detention near Moscow and be sent to serve her prison term in a penal colony elsewhere in Russia. Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport in February after customs officials said they found vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her luggage. Unlike labar, this is Bloomberg Tom Paul. Michael Burke, thank you so much. Greatly appreciate that. Paul, what's going to happen to Hollywood? I mean, it's tangential to the streaming. It's tangential to making of business. But I look at the movie thing. And I just go, we're not returning to what we had. No, but there are some very, very good green shoots out there. I mean, you know, if you put a big budget movie out there, people will go to the theaters almost at the same rate as they did pre-pandemic. And we saw that with Top Gun, we've seen that. So there's 7 movies. And it's building, but it's building. And it's building. And I think we're going to get back to not the pre-pandemic levels, but a lot better than what we maybe initially thought when we said all the movie theater business is dead. The Bentley was in the garage today. So I had to take a car and the guy and I were talking about it. And he goes, I don't watch movies anymore because there's nothing I like. If you don't like big blow them up, marvel movies, that's been what's out there. That's been a case for actually, I would argue a long time, ten 20 years and people have been kind of bemoaning that issue. But there are, you know, hey, we've got a George Clooney romantic comedy coming out with who's the other actress from Julia Roberts. What gets more RomCom 1990s than that? Let's do a numbers? No, when it comes out, it will be. No, but it will help. It will do numbers as this. It will do boffo box office as they say. That has been coined by a variety of magazines. So we'll see. But I mean, no, you can still get movies done. They're still seeing them in the theaters, but boy, that window for the streaming is just, it's huge. So, but you know what? It's not as profitable. It is not as profitable as the business model of just 5 years ago. Just 5 years ago. Yeah, because the cost of programming has more than tripled for Hollywood in general. But sports is the same as 5 years ago. I would argue if anything baseball is doing better than 5 years ago. Traditional broadcasting cable television, your business model now boils down to sports and news. And they have to resign it all off to see how that goes in overview
