The Markeith Loyd Case

"On january seven twenty seventeen. Master sergeant debra clayton had just begun her seven. Am shift she stopped at an orlando walmart to grab some grapes master. Sergeant clayton's thoughts must have been preoccupied that day. She made her way to the checkout line and failed to notice the man checking out a few feet away from her. The man was markeith loyd. His face was one debra. Clayton should have recognized. His photo was on every news channel around the clock. it was dangerous. wanted man on this particular day. Lloyd war a black security. Jackson pushed a heavy cart full of groceries. Deborah paid for her grapes and walked to her cruiser. Unaware of the turn her morning was about to take less than a minute later. A woman in the walmart checkout line spotted lloyd. She recognized him immediately from television. The woman hurried out of the store pretending to be ignorant of lloyd's presence when she noticed a familiar smile and the parking lot. She ran to master sergeant clayton and warned her about the fugitive inside just as she picked up her radio to contact dispatch and alert them citing lloyd exit the walmart. Here's walmart employees. Monica prison recounting what. She witnessed that day. Amnesty as she. She's walking towards the store. That's what i heard her say. Hey you and to me. All hell broke loose. That's what i stood up when i heard him say. Hey you master sergeant. Clayton commanded lloyd the stop but he pushed his shopping cart at her and ran to take cover behind pole. And i literally watched marquee blew away all seen with some running around the scene and pulled his gun out and they were shooting at each other like a western movie. Mr wanna say about six to seven shots. I don't know exactly. It was crazy that morning. And mr markeith pretty much was trying to unload as he was really trying to get rid of her personal. Deborah was unaware of how dangerous markeith loyd was. But you don't become a wanted man for any small crime. She had just come face to face with a cold blooded killer. And then all of a sudden. A seamless deborah fall. I guess that's what she must have called. I got shot or something on the radio or walkie talkie forty two year old. Markeith loyd was not always a one man living in the streets and having lots with police officers. Markeith was born on an air force base in south dakota markets. Father died shortly after more. Keith was born from a drug overdose leaving him in the care of his mother and siblings. After the death of his father the family moved to orlando florida. At a young age markeith started to show strange behavior. He would sit in front of the tv and watch the miniseries roots. Excessively the show roots follows a fifteen year old african boy who was captured and sold into slavery. You may recognize the main character. Who was played by lavar burton who later became joyti la forge on star trek the next generation the honored in any case this pre reading rainbow show was very controversial at the time it showed the cruel treatment of slaves in a way that was considered graphic and had never been done before markeith sister tanya explains what it was like for markeith to become entrenched in an obsession with the show. Put him in a bad place almost as it when he would watch do it would become as if he was the one being oppressed in that very moment as if he could feel every lash that they that they did it was almost surreal for him like almost he was there around. The age of nine markeith was taken to a mental institution for displaying strange behavior. Although he was only there for a few days it was clear he was suffering from delusions. By the time he reached the age of fifteen markeith began selling drugs and also stealing in order to feed himself and his siblings two years later when he was seventeen. He chose the wrong car to steal. He knowingly attempted to steal a vehicle owned by a powerful orlando drug dealer. I remember my mom. Got the phone call to come to come and get him and take him to the hospital in initially thought it was a you know maybe kind to a fight or something but will we got to him. He was unrecognizable. They had held him for over. Twenty four hours and tortured him. They let him go in. The woods was shooting at him as he ran away so he finally he saw light in rant horse light and ended up making his way to my grandmother's house. So we will so when we get back there to see him. i guess that he was unrecognizable. After his kidnapping markets mind developed an unnatural level of

Should I get a prototype made and how do I do it?

"This is dylan from orlando florida. And i've been listening to this show for almost two years now like a lot of people. I want to make twenty twenty one year. That i get going on my side hustle. I really feel like i'm ready to go. But i have a question regarding prototyping products that you've actually mentioned. in previous episodes. You brought up a company. Called product is being accompanied. Look into forgetting prototypes made. I've also come across. A company called brainchild engine. So my question is what factors should be taken into account in valuated when deciding what company contact about having a prototype mate. I'm unsure of the relative pricing in. Just any red flags to look out for us especially with the goal of getting a well-made prototype. Always appreciate your help. Chris team happy new year. Hey dylan what's up. Thank you so much the question. I'm excited to hear about your big twenty twenty one idea. So let's talk about it. I i learned about product from pat. Flynn pat as a friend of mine who hosts multiple podcasts and youtube channels. He does all kinds of stuff. Amazing guy featured his adventures in designing and manufacturing a physical product or loggers in episode ninety nine. I believe now. When i say product and dylan mentioned that as well. We're not actually mispronouncing it. That's the name of the company. Prouduct dot com. I have no affiliation with them except for various research a big thing that product does. Is they kind of guide you through. The process of working with an overseas factory and their objective is to provide a turnkey service for all parts of that process like all communication points. Everything that needs to happen. So when you think about a prototype there are early. Stage prototypes and going to market prototypes. And an early stage prototype is when you're trying to figure out like what is my idea how represented there's lots of different ways. It could be done. What is the best way. A go to market prototype is what you need right before you commit to making it thousands of them or some other large number that leverages the benefits of overseas manufacturing so. It's almost two different experiences. Although of course they're connected so dylan asks what factors should be taken into account and evaluated when deciding which company to contact about having your prototype made so i think again. Just kind of rewind a bit the three factors i think are not just for your prototype for your whole thing it. How complex the product. How far along are you in the process. And how much help do you need. Those are my three factors. How complex is the product. How far along are you in the process. How much help do you need because for your you know early stage prototype. You might need product or brainchild engineering or any other company. That does something similar in addition to path people. I know who've been successful doing this. They don't just have an idea actually have a clear market. They have a platform what they need help with is the design and engineering their actual product. You know whatever it is so if you're looking for a turnkey solution that does everything for a price and that's kind of the direction to go looking to one of these companies or vendors or do you just need help with one part of the problem that might be a little bit different than you might want to spend some time on alibaba looking at different factories. And maybe going from there. We had a number of episodes of people who've worked directly with factories. So there's many different paths you can take But hopefully those answers those questions. Let's say might help you take the next. Step your answers to those questions. How complex is the product. How far along are you in the process. And how much help do you need.

assumption here that all police are bad that all police are wrong that all police engage in brutality I don't they don't vast majority of them do not and this kind of stuff is making their jobs even harder and they don't get paid enough for what they did thank you Monique this is the last I'm sorry levy in Lexington Kentucky hello hi rush follow up question to the complaint that we need to dismantle the sandbank what that system a white supremacy is why is that and I know I have my own perspective about what that is but I think that as a follow up question that would be into our illustrated if we can get our salamander garden apartment hunters share what how do they define what is that well I think that I I I think he did let me let me repeat what I think I heard him say he's a white white supremacy is it is the result of the nation being founded by white people who were wealthy for white people who what benefit from the way the country was structured and founded and everybody else was left out and so that automatically means that all white people from the founding of the country forward have a built in advantage over people who weren't white because the country was founded on principles and laws and systems designed to benefit fellow and other white people that that is what I understood him to say as the definition of white supremacy other people define it in all more literal way that white supremacy is actually made up of people think that white racist people are supreme they are superior they are better human beings that's what I'm telling you doesn't exist is there maybe five or ten people here the but the white population of this country in mass no where near thinks that not in twenty twenty I agree with here I I but I reject both are those definitions are those promises because what is actually happening in the country is that at the state R. it grows in power and it becomes more impressive in it starts picking winners and losers and I believe that just when many of these initiatives that have been implemented by the state disproportionately oppress black people and I have made their lives more difficult and I do think that they are recruiting mechanisms employees departments and just even the escalation of commitment based on human psychology with once somebody gets into that position they're just inclined to just keep going for you see that guy with his knee on George's snap you just can't hope not that's just a huge psychological mechanism that all humans need to fight in able to come back down from the old you know getting over on that note I agree that's that's exactly I can't relate I can't relate to not remove my name if I was if I was in I cannot relate to not remove it but you let me tell you something here Lee because my time is dwindling rapidly you are brilliant your your not not until you your the way you laid out your own definition of of of white supremacy really you when you're laid out the way it manifests itself because you are exactly right most of this misery much of it much of the unhappiness stems from a growing out of control government that does indeed pick winners and losers but it more importantly falsely represents people look at the Democrat party's promises look at what they have told people they're going to do for them for fifty years seventy five years in a way you can't blame Democrat voters are being ticked off because all of these wonderful things they have been promised and all the horror that they've been promised will end none of it's happened or very little of it anyway I'm so glad you called I gotta go though we'll be back Rush.

"The during the World resort in Orlando Florida the season the athletic was the first report that using games will be hosted at Disney's wide world of sports complex the Lopez brothers would be pumped broken robin they love Disney world and finally baseball despite reports indicating otherwise minor league baseball has announced that its twenty twenty season has not been cancelled ESPN's Jeff Passan says Major League Baseball has time to make the right decision on it sees the important thing at this point is figuring out what plan exactly they're going to try to execute because Major League Baseball still isn't there yet what they've always felt is Hey we've got time on our side the league is optimistic it may be able to start its season as early as the month of June good news from baseball you get back to far Rogers I mean it is the key to this whole story is the fact that Erin and bright spoke I'm fascinated by who reached out to who was it Brett reaching out to Erin or was it the other way around because I think figuring that out would be very very telling to see how these comments came to be from Brett farb on the rich Eisen show yesterday it's only been a week since the opening round of the draft and all this stuff began and it's grown from yeah the teams looking to the future to all my gosh Aaron Rodgers isn't getting in his career in Green Bay and this is some sort of a schism do you think any of this would have been a later tempered to head the Packers selected at least one wide receiver some stud kid that would have given them an immediate fix for what seems to be ailing this team or was this a guard on no matter what they did with Jordan love yeah I think there would've been some semblance of this no matter what it depends on where the star wide receiver was drafted if Jordan love was a fourth round pick and they picked a wide receiver in the first round I don't think we're having this conversation it's going to be really interesting to see how this all plays out and like I mentioned earlier this morning gene this is gonna hang over the Packers all season long and I'm fascinated to see what happens if god forbid they start the season like one in three you know I mean like what if they get off to a bad start all of a sudden ego starts to come into play people start making sly comments in one another and things could go downhill pretty quickly so it it's an interesting hypothetical that you bring up there is you know if they if they take even one wide receiver things different I think it depends where they would have selected that wide receiver but that's not the position we're in traffic and weather next on WTMJ at.

"The shower in Orlando Florida Hey Roger how are you I'm great day thank you so much for taking my call sure what's up I'm looking at person a piece of property my wife and I and it is three hundred and fifty thousand and I have a liquid cash my life and I hope around four hundred fifty thousand but I'm my theory is to may be buys the property with cash and then use that for collateral to build a home on which is probably a mere onto our fifty thousand or do I cash out some of our retirement and just pay cash for the whole thing and just build power back up forty and how much is in return we have around three hundred fifty thousand total for where the former fifty thousand cash come from we had a home at the beach that we had about six years we just kept paying out and then we just recently sold it very cool and are you the home you're living and would you be selling it if you did though transaction nope I like to just keep it and have it as a rental what's it worth at two fifty okay and so the ground is three fifty and then you want to build another two fifty on top of that and so we'd be at what six hundred seven hundred Sir yes Sir okay right I guess would be six hundred now your Myat might get my addition working here part of my brain working on will be on the air it's embarrassing all right so six hundred thousand Bucks and what's your household income around two twenty sounds awesome okay and I take it you have no other death we don't and I've been released just down in the basement make sure we do things right I just don't want to go backwards here is the only out of the house you're living in is paid for yes Sir okay our goal is to interest to question one is you take the cash and you buy the land and then you take a construction loan build the house and pay off the construction was for him to pay off the mortgage at the resulting mortgage as fast as you possibly can okay but in in your case you can probably do that in just a couple of years two three years right because if you put four fifty towards a showing of a hundred fifty dollar mortgage I'm assuming you have an emergency phone other than this money right yes Sir okay so if you bought for fifty towards a six month on our project ultimately that leaves a hundred fifty thousand mortgage making to twenty you pay that off in two years right right that's definitely conservative a wonderful thing today you got to pay for properties item fifty thousand dollars in real estate both paid for at that point no problem there at all okay right that's answer number one and I think that's a very reasonable thing to do answer number two is what would technician Ramsey do we don't borrow money so we would be forced to either save for a little while longer after we bought the property it wouldn't bother property and then I would just save up and pay cash to build the house or if we wanted to get enough moreover hurry we would just sell the rental and by morals later okay okay I did I just within our debt for about two years now and it just like you said don't I get a debt like man even though it's our fifty dollar we get paid off I just I I just I just don't like it so you can have a hunter I think about the property it just and settlement why you save up to pay cash and build a house and keep the one you're in and that's a very confused it's it's not on it's not very exciting because you want to build the house you know right but honestly have you have you got your plans drawn your builder selected and all that we have an idea but like you said that you will win and it probably take a year just to yeah I'll kill as finalizing in here and take a caller's like after the law I'm going to buy the property in your case and I Marquesa this is how I would do it today I would buy the property I would want to keep the room along with you because I like rentals you know and that's paid for specially right so yeah I'm about the property anima begin drawing my house of saving the rest of the money to build okay and leave my investments along just leave irate I mean now we know you'll catch out retirement you'll get hammered units ten percent penalty plus your tax rates not yet yeah I call them today and asked him if that's what it says on hello don't we never cashed out retirement except to avoid bankruptcy or foreclosure so that's off the table but the the rest of it yeah I think that it's got it's going to go fast here's the other thing that we had in this collection come to think of it it takes a year to build it yes Sir are your appointment and a year to build it so you've got the money to start it and you can cash flow into it you'll have to have the entire some in the bank if you can see it coming I should say this that are you could you could you would have gasoline okay let's let's say you buy the property today you got a hundred thousand dollars left in the bank if you buy the property I need to fifty at the end of one year about the time you're breaking ground when you got a drowned out the builder selected and all that garbage right at the end of one year we have a hundred seventy five of the two fifty right start okay you'll have any of the seventy five by the time you needed at the end of that year okay I got just so you really not a lighting the project hardly at all when you look at it that way actually the current home on living and I kind of did that I had eighty percent of the cash and cash flow into the other twenty percent while I was building it at the time my guess I should say ready cash is a better way of saying it in your case it's all your cash yeah hi thanks for calling matter that's an interesting discussion you're doing very well by the way congratulations very very well done Amy is in Saint Louis hi Amy how are you how are you today better than I deserve what's up okay so we are and that four five and six and for the past year we've been putting in extra two thousand on our principal in hopes to have the house paid off and four more years and now we have a freshman and senior in high school and our senior right now we have about three we have three years of her college already bonded between a five twenty nine and mutual funds right show hell yeah so kind of certain see the light but a little nervous because of that the current world culture of the stocks in the timing of when we're going to start using the money show on the question that I had this I've we've been kind of twang where starting in this next year we're currently putting between the two girls like fifteen thousand a year and their college stating knowing I have one more year for the oldest one should we we if we increase our principal by a thousand a month will have the house paid off in three years and we know that just going straight to the house and you know not worrying about the stock market new dad and instead of the stop putting in the oldest daughters account and I'll sign the last couple years it's been about two forty kiln I thought so okay yeah what is a religious daughters eldest daughters annual budget for colleges.

It's called, PU we with tone and eco friendly dog waste bags that are very chic very she she and we're here today with Brian right VP of the green pet shop. Hey, brian. How's it going guys? Pleasure to be here. Thank you so much for, for doing this interview a little bit about Patani. It's one of your newest products. Yeah. Absolutely. Yes. So a company is based on eco friendly products. So when this product was brought to us originally we wanted. The rebranded and come out with something that was special and unique to the to the design and come up with a great name. So our CEO Larry and myself and our team got together. And we're like what name would work for this, and we came up with the Vitton, so we're having a lot of fun with it. It's a completely eco. Friendly products for the bags are made of cornstarch. And we got four packs and eight packs and the coolest thing about them to outside of their amazing. Chic designed is actually made of eighteen microns which means they are the strongest thick most bags on the market today. In addition to being the most eyeless a little bit about the pattern. I'm gonna take couple of pictures, and hopefully, we'll have some great pictures that you could provide us. So my listeners can see what we're talking about. But tell a little bit about this, cool design and the inspiration. So the inspiration courses was behind a little bit of that. Louis Vitton, Monica team. Yeah. So of course, for licensing region reasons we had to change the name a little bit, and change the spelling. But the wasn't -fluenced by that, and you can see the, the bone and the, the fire, hydrant print, very colorful. And then, of course with that classic dark deep Brown and a nice navy, blue coloring as well, and you'll get to see all of this. It is a door -able, if you want to be very stylish on your walk. I would check this out, Vitton by the green pet shop where can people find? And you, you can find us at the green pet shop dot com. Vitton? It's number one for picking up number two. Right. Thanks so much. I was sent an Email in time for global about this app called pet parade that when I checked it out. I saw very quickly. Not only was it really adorable. But it was a dictator. And so I needed to find out more and want to turn you onto a new app. A new game that for us dog lovers who loved to get our dogs out there and have other people see these really adorable photos and compete and meet other dog owners this could be perfect. I just wanted to talk about liberty and tyranny. I was just reading I was just reading through it. My dad actually, gave me the book and I'm in college right now and I just thought something you said in that book was really true. You talked about how people nowadays like the millennial age and stuff like that. They take for granted like liberty and the freedom we have because it's always been there. And they act like it, it can never go away. And they don't see the threat that could come from all the things that are proposed nowadays. I just thought that was really true. I just wanted to. And they act like it, it can never go away. And they don't see the threat that could come from all the things that are proposed nowadays. I just thought that was really true. I just wanted to. "Featuring the nation's best anglers but visitors you're also gonna find the canine X games the travel cafe and Twiggy the water skiing squirrel is back. And joining us now is Chuck best. He is the handler for Twiggy. Hello check. Are you doing? We're doing great. How about you enjoying the sunny weather here in Indianapolis, where do you come from Orlando Florida were born and raised in Sanford north of Orlando. That's nice is that where Twiggy was westbound. It was actually founded in nineteen seventy nine. My parents had a skating rink there in Sanford. So it all started back then right there in Tampa, Florida people love Twiggy, the water skiing, squirrel, where did the Twiggy come from all the original Twiggy was blown out of nest and because we have the Sanford skating rink. And my dad was a an animal person. And people would always bring them the swirl or animals that were injured or needed help. And it would just rescue on the we ended up getting a squirrel that you were rescued and ended up being just a pet original Twiggy had the form t so we release them. And that's how this all started. As far as what the swap? So how did you get a squirrel too? I mean, where does that ID recover from? It's it's amazing actually do like water. I'd like the one we have. And I'll go to that a little later, but we have put junior I can't keep her on the skiing sometimes, but no the idea was my dad had had a remote control boat for my oldest sister. And he was out playing with it. Win a came up to his Chuck didn't buy that both for your daughter. Your body for yourself. My dad was like, no, I'm learning how to drive the boat. So I can teach. My squirrel had to water ski of joke. He made a pair of schemes. The skis took a picture of it put it onto a local newspaper the Sanford herald back then. Awesome. Do we started getting called the new shows? And here we are forty years later. How long does it take you to train a brand new Twiggy? So usually about six months to a year, which is the unique part both the squirrels that we have right now to the one where you those for nine skiing now for five months and the the baby's been now for two months. So we never know where we're going to get right now tweaking was like a brother or sister, whatever Twiggy is. But that was like a family member for you. I'll bet as a kid. No, I pretty much grew up with squirrels. I mean, I was born a couple years later so squalls just being part of the family has been just a natural thing for me. I mean, I was home schooled while we traveled the country as a kid and. While in school Twiggy was eaten my pencil or my homework. So yeah. Natural for I love them. You know, I love squirrels. We all do most of us here in Indianapolis. I I guess that's even probably exaggerating. But there's a lot of us that love scores because we feed them, and we try to take care of them through the wintertime and their joy to watch. I mean, there's so much fun to watch. What what was your childhood like traveling around from place to place where you traveling all around the world or just staying right here in the country. United States and Canada advocate. I I went to Muda, and that was the farthest that I was able to go after my dad passed away in a boating accident ninety seven my mom took over and he was able to go to Germany and England and the shit. Go to the bible is supposed to go to the vibe. We didn't go to the by and the UK. I mean, she pretty much started traveling the world a little bit more after my dad passed away. Well this. This is incredible gentlemen were talking to Chuck mast. And he is the handler Twiggy. The water skis, squirrel. Yes. In Twiggy is back again for the boat sport and travel show. So you decided you're going to continue this tradition and making sure that Twiggy gets out and about and travels everywhere at what Twiggy are we on? Number nine and ten. This wasn't supposed to happen. And I just kind of with my mom said she was retired. I'm like mom. You can't people were calling you still one shows. And you know, we've been doing this message of water safety. Let me continue it on. And I in training Twiggy number nine, and we also got a little baby included in the show now Twiggy junior as we call her. And so you get to see your training in the shows now, which is kind of unique. Twiggy does to stay in motels and hotels with you. Or how did where does Twiggy stay when you're traveling late? Now, we are in a pack van with all very quickly, and we say usually hotel. Airbnb every once in a while, but we are hoping to get an RV. So we're we might be shopping this weekend because they usually have really good deal that they shows. So we're looking for an RV the travel the summer and and continue on with our summer tour. Tell us about something about this world that we might not know about a squirrel in general. Well, I I will say this was like Princeton. Twiggy Twiggy number nine as Hollywood is the behind the scenes, we won't tell anybody. So. So he was actually he would have seizures when he was a baby. And he was paralyzed with the hindquarters. We would my dad used a squirrel back in the eighties that water safety to our water therapy to help them get the hindquarters moving again. And that's the same thing. We did with this Twiggy. So she has pretty much ninety percent mobility with her and quarters now because of water therapy. But they're they only live a couple of years in the wild because of a different issues like the first he had the phone teeth and a lot of other could that we have a lot of schools get get that. Or they have seizures. They can't find food or they get hit by a car. So they only have a couple of years lifespan with us as far as rehabilitators a lotta rehabilitators. I've seen about thirteen or fourteen years as far as what's world. Really? That's incredible. Thirteen or fourteen years. Wow. I'm just now looking do you can follow too. By the way on Facebook. Twiggy the water skiing, squirrel. You can follow Twiggy. She's got a lot of friends, and she's got some. Beautiful pictures of Twiggy and also just do squirrels in general. If you're a squirrel fan as I am is pretty cool. We're looking forward to having you hear Chuck and again, follow Twiggy. The message is real the message Israel. It's about water safety. It's it's obviously a really cool gimmick to have a water skiing, squirrel. But you have a real message to to let people know about. Boat and the water safety council this year to promote everyone in their life jacket, and to make sure they learn how to swim and and make sure they're safe all the water as I said earlier, my dad passed away ninety seven in a boating accident, and since then we wanted to can continue on that message. So that everybody can be safe and that they're out there, traveling the waters, you'll be here through the entire show. Won't you won't be water skiing a couple times a day on the weekends. It's usually about three or four shows a day. You could check out the times probably on our Instagram or Facebook post, those also on the both sport and travel ages. Well, okay, we've really look forward to seeing you. It's always a big attraction when Twiggy comes to town. Chuck best. Again, follow them on Facebook,.
