Twitter Hackers Arrested

"We have learned more about who's behind who is believed to be behind the twitter hack. And you know not some four. Powerful state-sponsored cybercrime gang, just A. we believe a seventeen year. Old Kid His name is all over the tech press. I heard you not wanting to say it on on, Mac. Breglio. So but I do have it in the show notes. To find it I mean. Yeah. You know I come from the School of journalism where you don't say the names of miners were accused of crimes, but apparently nobody else does that. So the AD the local Florida news channel. WFL talks Tim right away. They outed him as Graham Clark from Tampa Bay Florida. We. So they also. Suitably creepy, picture. Of Him. I know in fact in fact before. I reduced in size I. Actually had in the show notes. He looks a little bit like spock at so. got kind of a pointed ear. Is Little bit creepy. And, it's interesting too that his nick is Kirk. So Oh, maybe. Two Years Yeah. So Anyway the the the sad thing is this guy's life is now seriously sparked up. Yeah. He's been charged with felonies relating to computer communications and organized fraud for scamming hundreds of people using compromised account according to a press release from Hillsborough State Attorney. Andrew Warren's office. This guy Grab Clark. Now. Faces Thirty Felony Charges? So we have one count of organized fraud involving more than fifty thousand dollars, seventeen counts of communications, fraud of over three hundred dollars. One count of fraudulent use personal information. For an amount over one, hundred, thousand dollars or thirty or more victims. Ten counts of fraudulent use personal information and one count access to computer or electronic devices without authority and scheming to defraud. So in total thirty counts of felony charges, all of those felonies. So I mean I do feel like unfortunately, there's there's sort of a bit of. overreaction I, I, mean I get it that. This was not good and certainly that the law enforcement wants to send a message like don't do this even if you can Initially, the the initial announcement didn't indicate whether Clark had any partners in crime, but a few hours after the press conference announcement, the world learned that the US. DOJ had also filed charges against two other suspects believed to have helped Clark in this hack. The first of those was identified as Mason Shepherd who who's known as chair Juan nineteen years old living in Bognar Regis in the UK and the other is identified as Nima Fazackerley. Also known as Rolex twenty, two year, old residing in Orlando Florida. The US Attorney Anderson said there is a false belief within the criminal hacker community that attacks like the twitter hack can be perpetrated anonymously and without consequence today's charging announcement demonstrates thus I think an example has been meeting is being made. That, the elation of nefarious hacking into a secure environment for fun or profit will be short lived. Criminal conduct over the Internet may feel stealthy to the people who perpetrated, but there's nothing stealthy about it. In particular. He said, I want to say to would be offenders break the law Ed. We will find you please. So exactly the kind of thing hackers go. knows. That's GonNa, really scare me, I remember when I was a teenager. And in Fact Leo, did this did I? You know I was always a good kid. But oh, to be seventeen and have done Brazi network in front of me. Yeah. Yeah. Twitter early, fairly clever. Because, well, go ahead because it the way did it was kind of kind of interesting. Yeah. So for their part twitter disclosed a bit more about the nature of the attacks. They said that the that the phone based social engineering attack allowed the attackers to obtain the credentials of a limited set of employees, which then made it possible to gain access to twitter's internal. Internal Network and support tools although not all of those employees were who are initially targeted had permissions to use account management tools. The attackers you know apparently, just actually just Graham was able to use their credentials to then access twitter's internal systems and gain information about twitter's processes that expanded knowledge then enabled the attackers to target additional employees who did have access to twitter's privileged account support tools. Reuters also had reported something that I had not seen elsewhere, which was that as of Earlier. This year. More than a thousand twitter employees and contractors had access to twitter's in tools and could change user account settings in hand control over to others a thousand. And this was a key. To former twitter employees. Well as we know such widespread access makes it difficult if not impossible to defend against the sort of hacking that occurred.

"As we came on the air Thursday, we learned the New, York State Attorney General Latisha James as filed a lawsuit to dissolve the National Rifle Association. She tweets the NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse. You know where we're going here. It was an overall twitter joke to write thoughts and prayers. Thanks to Chad or Zal. I think we're I. Think we're on like year four of this overworked twitter joke fantastic sports news. For Monday, David the field of dreams game, which is going to feature the Chicago White Sox and Saint Louis Cardinals and was going to be played at the Ballpark, from the nineteen eighty-nine movie was pushed back to twenty twenty one I was an overweight twitter joke to write. MLB has discovered that during pandemic if you build it, they won't come. Jason C Wilson of others, texts thread with Kevin Clark throughout the pandemic devoted to sporting events. We didn't know were happening that got canceled. You only learned it was going to happen when it was canceled because of the pandemic, the field of dreams game would definitely be at the top of my list. And finally David, this is one that the ringer twitter accounts got in on our here's a scenario, a player in the NBA. Bubble in Orlando Florida hits a long distance shot could be a long three could be a buzzer beater from half court. It was an overwork twitter joke to right so and so hit a shot from Epcot Center. Or so and so hit a shot from the magic kingdom. Literally any place on the Disney campus that is not the court the NBA players are playing on. Right. Thanks to Ryan. Patrick couldn't come up with something else like the site of the original wet and wild or Kevin Clark's boyhood home. Congrats you made the overwork twitter joke. In the Notebook Dump David, I want to get into some post game analysis of the interview. Jonathan Swan of axios did with Donald Trump at aired Sunday night on HBO. This thing has already been memed into oblivion. My favorite is donald trump holding a piece of paper and saying there's nothing in this rule book that says a dog can't play basketball. And then the accompanying shot of Jonathan Swan looking totally incredulous talk about Jonathan Swan Reaction Shots I. Think there is so great. This look like a lost episode of the office at some point. Donald trump would say something really crazy and then the cab ruin go the right and Jonathan Swan would have this look. That sort of went between skepticism and him trying to laugh yeah, Donald Trump kept calling him out for smiling like Jonathan I. See you smiling. As, if He was just he was just on the brink of I do understand the reporter because sometimes obviously not interviewing the president United States but sometimes when I'm interviewing somebody and they tell me something good I just start giggling because I know it's like good material and I think I think that's what Jonathan Swan was doing. But anyway we digress. This David I'd like to call the Swan Maneuver. It's a question and what he does butters up trump. And then he brings the Hammer. Listen, listen to the construction of this question, which is about six minutes into his axios interview and nobody says, I think some semi I'm criticizing your ability to draw a crowd you kidding. Five is message crowds. Huge ratings I'm asking about public. Canceled another one had cancelled, right I have a great crowd in New Hampshire and I canceled it for the same reason. Here's the question. I've covered you for a long time. I've gone to rallies talk to your people. They love you. They listen to you that listen to every word you say hang on your don't listen to me or the media or fout cheat I think we're fake news they want to get their advice from you and so when they hear you say everything's under control. Dory about wearing mosques. These people many of them are older people was. Control. Under the giving the muscles. Under control I'll tell you what how thousand Americans Day dying that's true. Yeah I. First of all, we should be calling at the swan dive. I believe if you want to. Do a little bit. Have you want to give it a name? I. I'm sure like everybody else in the world and that always wanted a complete fan of John Swan. But man he came in who is complete fan of Jonathan Swan was people to run axios. But anyway, continue he came in with his fight plan and he executed it I mean just punch for punch he knew. He knew how to swim had a counter every single thing that trump said and and. He was definitely definitely gotten assists as you mentioned from the camera crew. Because there's a degree to which. This was a print interview. He wouldn't have walked away with nearly as much. Would been some good sound but I mean some good quotes and everything else but it was. What we've been saying about trump for four years for more than four years like you, gotTa. You can't let him bullshit his way through the answered every question, and then just changed the subject. You gotTa keep repeating the same question or at least you have to call him on the fact that that he's bullshitting you and if and if you're not going to do that if you're not going to say excuse me Mr President but that's a steaming pile of horse shit then. What's the next best thing to just show complete and other utter incredulity on your face as he's answering the question, right? I mean, that's the only way to convey to the to the audience that you are with them. Knowing that he's doing it I mean he's trumping it up is the show that expression on his face I thought but you're right he's he's buttering them up he's getting amenities. and. Not only that he's getting him to agree to every point stipulate to every point of the question until he gets to the real question and then trump's gets the carpet yanked out from under him. It's great. Yeah. He began the interview with a swan dive as well where he's you know Mr President you get so much credit over the years of saying, you have to visualize your own success and love that visualize your success and you will be successful, which is probably something that one of trump's ghost writers wrote in his book and trump has already forgotten about and then he says, but then everybody is dying of the corona virus. Fox Sports debuts virtual fans for MLB live broadcast

"Night Major League Baseball became the first major sport to go ahead and broadcast games. Weird state where people are thrilled to have entertainment as we're talking, we don't know how thing rated. Crates well. I find it particularly amusing. That Fox sports has said they will debut virtual fans in the live broadcast during this shortland twenty twenty season, so the people people who watch this well as seen CGI fans brought to them. You know with Hollywood special effects and I have to say I think it's an awfully good idea. Well, the initial broadcasts with the crowd noise has been a significant improvement over just watching a silent baseball field with no fans and you can hear. Hear the BASS coaches talking to each other like that's not good, but you know they're really trudging forward now. Baseball and other team sports are in this odd situation where there is so much money on the line that they kind of have to move forward, and they're doing it in whatever way they can, and the audience at least from the preliminary number suggests they want it to the ratings for some of the preseason scrimmages in these major markets were gigantic and. And Fox reported that they had sold out ninety percent of their ad inventory for these sixty game major league baseball season that is going to happen start over the next couple of months, and this is really the big test. Because yes, there's been tennis. There's been golf, but this is the big restart of team sports, and the NBA is going to follow, and they're all living in this bubble in Orlando Florida. Trying to get the NBA restarted Major League Baseball. Baseball is trying to restart even as one of the players on the Washington nationals tested positive for covid nineteen. The day that the season was set to start, so they're going to be these setbacks, but I don't see the League's canceling their seasons because of them, there's just so much money at stake. They're going to trudge forward and the big one. Coming up is the NFL and what they're going to do. The revenue for Fox sports for Turner for ESPN. Is desperately needed I. This is billions of dollars in lost money if they can't get these games up and start selling this. Thing so it's critical and. Obviously there's pressure all around to find a way to make it work and for the NFL which is by far the biggest draw in television, the training camps are set to start and the players union has agreed tentatively to a testing procedure, but there's no agreement on whether there's going to be fans at these games, and whether the season is going to come off like it would otherwise they cancelled some of the preseason games, but whether the actual season is. Is going to happen and how that's going to look is still a big question, and for television that billions and billions of dollars in revenue in the balance, and we're already seeing several college football leagues, either pushing their seasons or cancelling them entirely, and that's going to be the next domino effect. This virus cannot get under control in the next month or two. Then you're GonNa see College. Football pretty much eliminated for the fall in my in my prediction. Some leagues will probably try to continue, but ultimately if you can't keep college players safe, then you can't have a football season so. We'll see what the NFL does, but college football is a gigantic business as well on a more frivolous note. I will just observe that Fox. Had plans in terms of the baseball game to to thin the digital crowd. If there isn't like an eight to one game, and the crowd normally would go, so at least they're keeping that part real. Wow, can they make the dodgers? Fans leave in the seventh inning. I'm sure the virtual died. Here's fans will want to get on the freeway. Justice, the real ones

Well the way it's been occurring for the W. E. and their competition. A W which Ariza. Tnt network is that they've been holding shows in empty facilities but for me that means holding their weekly television programs raw and smackdown at the W. E. Performance Center a training facility in Orlando and what they've been doing literally holding it inside of an Empty Gymnasium. I'm the game triple agent. I would like to personally. Welcome you to the. Wwe Performance Center now. This show will be different from anything you've ever seen before. Sit Back Relax. And if you can't forget about the world around you and let. Wwe Do what we do. Let us put a smile on your face to start. That was a little bit awkward because the wrestlers would come out and they would look to the crowd. That wasn't there and they would do all of the usual pantomime they would do to get the fans excited except there was no fans getting excited. You see it doesn't matter if there's ten thousand fans at their zero fans because this is how I I remember that can only way I could describe it as it's like when you're at chucky cheese and the animatronic band starts playing into an empty room. It's still playing. It's still doing. Its own thing. But there's nobody that Iraq to it and that was like the first couple of weeks of this and also they've been utilizing more space around the performance center lake attacks in the parking lot and stuff like that to try to make it feel more than just trying to recreate something inside of an empty room derailed. Me With that chucky cheese analogy this. It's the it's the rock afire explosion ban. Greg get it right. There's nothing better than being in an empty room with the rock afire. Explosion Band and just hearing the gears clunk together. It's jarring but also satisfying so wrestlemainia. Thirty six is happening on Saturday. What was the original plan for the event the original plan was to hold wrestlemainia? Thirty six at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and this was going to be a huge event for those who don't know it's not just simply wrestlemainia. Inside of a stadium. It is an entire city being overrun by. Wwe events you have the Access Fan Festival you have the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony. Where wrestlers of old honored and put into a virtual hall of fame. Physical building doesn't exist quite yet and then also after Wrestlemainia the next day on Monday. It's tradition to hold Monday night raw in that same city so this isn't just simply one event on a on a on a Saturday night for The city of Tampa. It was a whole citywide sort of celebration for wrestling as of March. Third The W. E. and Tampa's mayor said there were no plans to postpone the event the W. E. said look the health safety of our fans and performance of our top priorities. But we remain committed to hosting Wrestlemainia at Raymond. James Stadium fast forward to March twelfth. Now you have Hillsborough County's commissioner less Miller saying he'll probably have to cancel wrestlemainia if the. Wwe doesn't make the decision itself because of the virus pandemic governor Rod Santa's that points that cities and counties should cancel mass gatherings over the next thirty days and so it was becoming a worse than worse. Look for W. E. to keep wrestlemainia scheduled framing Jamie Stadium on March sixteenth. They made the decision not to have upwards of sixty five seventy thousand people come to a stadium during a virus outbreak and instead moved into their performance center in Orlando. It's a two night event April fourth and April Fifth. How has wwe justified or explained their decision to go on with us? Well there's the public explanation and then there's the assumed explanation that the public explanation according to the WWe is that it is for the fans the fans are the lifeblood of the organization it is a panacea the fans to be able to hold this event. It is going to give them some comfort in a time of confusion and trouble. It's also going to be arrested for the performers themselves who you know are looking for some direction or looking for some focus in life during uncertain times. And that's sort of the the public explanation for this. If you know about the wrestling business you know that part of this is the fact that story lines that are going to have their big payoff. At wrestlemainia are a month long process. All the story lines all the action. They all run through. Vince McMahon they are on one track. And they're going to stay on that track through hell or high water. These are storylines narratives that the W has been planning to wrap up in culminate at Wrestlemainia happens every year and then they kind of moved to new stuff after that so from a function process to have wrestlemainia occur and wrap up which are the signature feuds and storylines of their season. If you will was a pretty important thing was there any blowback to all of this. Yeah I think there has been some in the rest in wrestling circles amongst wrestling reporters and and amongst the fans wondering okay. We are looking around the sports world. We're looking around the entertainment world. We're seeing literally every pro league every concert tour Disney on ice everything canceling out of concern about corona virus and yet professional wrestling roles on as a weekly television product so there is a bit of confusion. There're two why this continues while every other facet of sports entertainment seems to have stopped. What about amongst the wrestlers did any of them have reservations about participating in this one particular did so wrestler by the name of Roman reigns one of the bigger stars and WWe had a very highly publicized battle with leukemia? He left in October. Two thousand eighteen returned to WWE IN FEBRUARY. Two thousand nine thousand nine hundred and he's compromised so news started to break recently through some of the quote unquote dirt sheets in wrestling. The ones who report the rumor. Innuendo that Roman reigns was not going to be participating in his scheduled match against Goldberg for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemainia. Wwe basically said hey look. This is understandable situation. The health and safety of our performers paramount Sakiz. The biggest name that we know will not be participating but quite frankly until we see what events they air this weekend we won't know who else may have decided to pull out or had to be quarantined or any of that nature because they're being very clandestine about what the card will actually be the first wrestlemainia. That's taking place over multiple nights. It's also the first wrestlemainia that is going to be completely pretaped. So when did they take this weekend's event and what steps did they take to ensure the safety of the wrestlers in the people working on it? It's been a race against time for me. As I mentioned the performance center is in Orlando Florida Orlando Florida. Recently issued a stay at home order March twenty sixth that really closed out all the essential businesses. Just like we've seen all over the country so the WBZ has been racing. It's time to not only record wrestlemainia matches but also record. Future television matches programming as well as far as the safety of the wrestlers. It is a closed control facility. Stephanie McMahon the daughter of owner Vince McMahon who is the brand manager for WWe said to variety. Recently there's extensive testing screening. When you first come into the facility regardless of whether you're a talent crew member or anyone else if you have a temperature taken and you have a temperature over a hundred point four degrees you're automatically asked to leave also any wrestlers de out of the country or in contact anybody who's been out of the country you're not actually allowed to enter the facility. Either so they are taking some safety measures as far as trying to make sure anyone exhibiting symptoms isn't allowed in the facility or anyone who might have been exposed to corona virus through travel or relationships isn't allowed in the facility. Which is you know what you see from other companies as well but obviously there's no way to be sure without Virus testing whether anybody actually has the center of city so they tape this before the stay at home order. Does that mean this is going to be the last big event like this or is this something they're going to keep on doing? There is a lot of sort of mystery as to how these wrestling organizations are going to continue to keep on doing their thing. I'm not sure what the regulations mean for the performance in Orlando. I don't know if this is GonNa be it for their use facility or not. I can't tell you that. Eighty w their competition with also filming inside of an empty facility in Florida's well and there was news this week that they're gonNA be taking their show to some undisclosed to record matches going forward so I don't know if it's GonNa be a shell game where these companies have to start going to the few places around the country that don't have restrictions in place or what have you. But it's clear from both cases that even though they're putting a bunch of their product in the bag right now in our taping matches and episodes for future use on television. The show apparently is going to go on

"The shower in Orlando Florida Hey Roger how are you I'm great day thank you so much for taking my call sure what's up I'm looking at person a piece of property my wife and I and it is three hundred and fifty thousand and I have a liquid cash my life and I hope around four hundred fifty thousand but I'm my theory is to may be buys the property with cash and then use that for collateral to build a home on which is probably a mere onto our fifty thousand or do I cash out some of our retirement and just pay cash for the whole thing and just build power back up forty and how much is in return we have around three hundred fifty thousand total for where the former fifty thousand cash come from we had a home at the beach that we had about six years we just kept paying out and then we just recently sold it very cool and are you the home you're living and would you be selling it if you did though transaction nope I like to just keep it and have it as a rental what's it worth at two fifty okay and so the ground is three fifty and then you want to build another two fifty on top of that and so we'd be at what six hundred seven hundred Sir yes Sir okay right I guess would be six hundred now your Myat might get my addition working here part of my brain working on will be on the air it's embarrassing all right so six hundred thousand Bucks and what's your household income around two twenty sounds awesome okay and I take it you have no other death we don't and I've been released just down in the basement make sure we do things right I just don't want to go backwards here is the only out of the house you're living in is paid for yes Sir okay our goal is to interest to question one is you take the cash and you buy the land and then you take a construction loan build the house and pay off the construction was for him to pay off the mortgage at the resulting mortgage as fast as you possibly can okay but in in your case you can probably do that in just a couple of years two three years right because if you put four fifty towards a showing of a hundred fifty dollar mortgage I'm assuming you have an emergency phone other than this money right yes Sir okay so if you bought for fifty towards a six month on our project ultimately that leaves a hundred fifty thousand mortgage making to twenty you pay that off in two years right right that's definitely conservative a wonderful thing today you got to pay for properties item fifty thousand dollars in real estate both paid for at that point no problem there at all okay right that's answer number one and I think that's a very reasonable thing to do answer number two is what would technician Ramsey do we don't borrow money so we would be forced to either save for a little while longer after we bought the property it wouldn't bother property and then I would just save up and pay cash to build the house or if we wanted to get enough moreover hurry we would just sell the rental and by morals later okay okay I did I just within our debt for about two years now and it just like you said don't I get a debt like man even though it's our fifty dollar we get paid off I just I I just I just don't like it so you can have a hunter I think about the property it just and settlement why you save up to pay cash and build a house and keep the one you're in and that's a very confused it's it's not on it's not very exciting because you want to build the house you know right but honestly have you have you got your plans drawn your builder selected and all that we have an idea but like you said that you will win and it probably take a year just to yeah I'll kill as finalizing in here and take a caller's like after the law I'm going to buy the property in your case and I Marquesa this is how I would do it today I would buy the property I would want to keep the room along with you because I like rentals you know and that's paid for specially right so yeah I'm about the property anima begin drawing my house of saving the rest of the money to build okay and leave my investments along just leave irate I mean now we know you'll catch out retirement you'll get hammered units ten percent penalty plus your tax rates not yet yeah I call them today and asked him if that's what it says on hello don't we never cashed out retirement except to avoid bankruptcy or foreclosure so that's off the table but the the rest of it yeah I think that it's got it's going to go fast here's the other thing that we had in this collection come to think of it it takes a year to build it yes Sir are your appointment and a year to build it so you've got the money to start it and you can cash flow into it you'll have to have the entire some in the bank if you can see it coming I should say this that are you could you could you would have gasoline okay let's let's say you buy the property today you got a hundred thousand dollars left in the bank if you buy the property I need to fifty at the end of one year about the time you're breaking ground when you got a drowned out the builder selected and all that garbage right at the end of one year we have a hundred seventy five of the two fifty right start okay you'll have any of the seventy five by the time you needed at the end of that year okay I got just so you really not a lighting the project hardly at all when you look at it that way actually the current home on living and I kind of did that I had eighty percent of the cash and cash flow into the other twenty percent while I was building it at the time my guess I should say ready cash is a better way of saying it in your case it's all your cash yeah hi thanks for calling matter that's an interesting discussion you're doing very well by the way congratulations very very well done Amy is in Saint Louis hi Amy how are you how are you today better than I deserve what's up okay so we are and that four five and six and for the past year we've been putting in extra two thousand on our principal in hopes to have the house paid off and four more years and now we have a freshman and senior in high school and our senior right now we have about three we have three years of her college already bonded between a five twenty nine and mutual funds right show hell yeah so kind of certain see the light but a little nervous because of that the current world culture of the stocks in the timing of when we're going to start using the money show on the question that I had this I've we've been kind of twang where starting in this next year we're currently putting between the two girls like fifteen thousand a year and their college stating knowing I have one more year for the oldest one should we we if we increase our principal by a thousand a month will have the house paid off in three years and we know that just going straight to the house and you know not worrying about the stock market new dad and instead of the stop putting in the oldest daughters account and I'll sign the last couple years it's been about two forty kiln I thought so okay yeah what is a religious daughters eldest daughters annual budget for colleges.

"Hello, everybody. And thank you for tuning in. Sue, the digital vibe podcast at Saad. WWW the digital vibe dot com. This is a net. I kinda think you know that by now. And glad you could make it here Wednesday again a date with me on Wednesday. For the month of April. I am going to be sharing my story of my visit my time at pod fest Orlando in Florida and. It's it was my first time, you know, it was it was an amazing experience. So if you didn't listen to last week's episode, I want you to go back to the website and listen to that. And then you begin the journey of the story, right? But. I won. I said that when I decided to go ahead and. You know, share my story and do my thing. I said, you know, one thing I find that's amazing about doing a podcast is that so many people you never know who's going to be listening to your podcast, first of all and. Going to podcast convention, especially one that's new for me for the first time. Anyway, is something that for the first time, it isn't experience and a lot of people go to them often. But it was my first time. And so I going to anything doing anything when you've done it for the first time is something else, isn't it? It's like, wow. And it's an experience that stays with you for the rest of your life. So this is what pod fester Lanta did for me? It's going to stay with me for the rest of my life. You know, as well as the podcast movement and everything else that's related to podcasting because it is me. It's me. And as Pat Flynn said it starts with podcast. And that's how I started my journey of people starting to listen to what I had to say. So I landed literally in Orlando, Florida. And I wasn't able to make the convention for the second because the convention actually started Wednesday. So as Wednesday Thursday, Friday and Saturday. But I wasn't able to make it Wednesday and Thursday. I had another appointment. And so this is why when you make a decision to say, yes. So your life and yes decision to possibilities and opportunities in life. It sometimes interrupts schedule that you already had plan, but it's a good interruption. Was the great interruption. I was Jenny. I was at the dentist. So I had to recuperate a little bit from that. You know, when you go to a dentist, you are getting some invasive things done, and you don't feel good. The experiences. Sometimes scary enough when you don't wanna go you have to go. You don't wanna go. But you have to go. And I had to recuperate from that one. So I wasn't able to make it Wednesday and Thursday. And I needed to rest. And because I had the previous things done a week ago. And. And I was recuperating from that as well. So. So I was able that was not I was so excited, you know, to be able to go, but I had to Reno reality set in you can't go yet you have to rest, so I did rest, and that's one thing. I always make certain about when it comes to my health as a priority for me. And even though I get so super excited about some things and a little girl in candy store kind of moment. I don't eat that much candy anymore. Can't do that. I was able to say, you know, what? No, you know, was so energy. 'cause I knew what was coming. No. I didn't know, but I felt the energy apart fester. I felt the energy. But I couldn't go yet. I it's like it's like it's like I said it's like. Christmastime, and you expecting these gifts, and so many Santa to arrive kind of thing, and you know, you intimate it and you're waiting and you're tipping. You have this high expectancy you're excited? But you can't quite get there yet. Because you have something else to finish something else to do. And is that thing that your your mind says? Yes, yes. Yes. But you buy is saying hold up. Okay. Can't do that one. Quite yet. So I knew everybody else was they I know everybody that I the family was gonna meet was going to be there. But I couldn't I couldn't be a part of that just yet to had to take care of myself, and so I- rested. But believe you me. When the next day came around. I was there. Okay. I was there with bells and whistles as I arrived to Orlando. And I was just like. I couldn't I just something else. I mean, it's like so much to take an so much. I didn't know what to look for. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know who to meet who to say anything to all I know is a net. Just listen take it, you know, try to take this in. And just listen to everybody, you know, just listen. Instead of you being on the one end telling everybody else to listen. Listen, learn, you know, just just just take it in soak it in I had much to to take in. You know? But this was the thing that gave me the clarity. Is I was always on the right track. I was always doing what I'm supposed to be doing in my life. Know my right. Livelihood was podcasting. Because it gives me that opportunity to have a voice mind voice. And so when I landed in Orlando when I begin to to to look at all these things and watching people in his Irving it for the first time. I mean, I look like, you know, I'm limited fish out of water. But at the same time, I'm amongst friends and family that had yet to get to know. So that was that that is something to experience that is like I'm in the story. But in that step back a little bit get out of the way and observe. You're in that story that is your own story. They're part of your story.

"Say. And that's what makes this a story. And I wanna share some of the store with you. Some glad you're listening. And I hope it inspires you. To make you believe that whatever it is that you wanna do that. You can do it. And it doesn't matter. You. You're only limited by your limited beliefs. And stop listening to other people that tell you can't do anything. So my journey to pod fest Orlando, my first my first convention matter of fact, my first convention, okay? I usually go to entertain conventions like. Comic book conventions things like that. So I'm normally supporting my husband in what he does. And I have some fun too. But this you know, what it's all about a net. So here, you know, a couple years ago back in twenty seventeen I said, I looked at pod fest Orlando, then and I looked at it. Then I said one day. A nets gonna land. They're okay. One day. I'm gonna go there. And I didn't. I just I couldn't at the time. I couldn't afford it. And I said I wanna go I wanna go. I gotta go. I wanna go. And then I I kind of as as the year went by and another year went by kind of said, I wanna go I wanna go. And so here in twenty seventeen I just kept looking at that. I looked at pod fester Landau, and I live in Florida. And I kept looking at that. I need to get there. I needed to get there. And I said one day one year, I'll go one year, I'll go and the thing is is that. I'll do. That's why needed to be. And I knew that everybody out there who was already going and attending already experienced it. I hadn't. I had been doing podcasting since three what three years ago three and a half years ago. And I had been wanting to you know, I know I needed to meet my peers who I find that are now my family. And. Who understand what it is to not be listened heard? And understood. And to have the courage to do a podcast each and every week. And I said, I got a kept calling me you gotta get there. I didn't get there in twenty seventeen. But I said one day I will. So then hey, we are. At twenty eighteen another year passes by and I'm I'm looking at it. But I'm still doing my podcasting. And if you haven't if you just found out who I was. I had been doing it podcasting for little bit. But there was a whole family out there podcasters than needed to meet. I knew the business side of podcasting. But I didn't know I really, you know, and then I looked at other people's podcast. I listen to other people's podcast. And I knew I had to meet some of these people. I know that they were doing podcasts as well. And I said one day. One day. I will get there to pot vest or Landau or even to the podcast movement. And normally the podcast movement is done U S wide in different cities in the large cities. And they weren't Anaheim. I believe and Philadelphia one year, and I said I'm going to get to that one day. It will come to Orlando. Well, the pod fest movement arrived in Orlando, Florida this August. So I will be there. But back to my story. Twenty eight teen and I still hadn't gone yet. I just kept looking at it every once in a while. And I said well one day, and I never even got up the courage that I knew or maybe I just didn't think or I just may be it wasn't time.

"Beautiful Orlando Florida ethics logo. Fedex fell seven football fields a pet products and people working to help pets live their best lives with their people. We are in heaven. And now it gets talked with another way cool executive working Superfund program with pets, and I'm at the global. So I just spoke with Bob Viteri. And I'm with Steve king. Another amazing, man. He's the president of pita, which is the pet industry distributors association, high Nagin, how are you? Wonderful. First of all, thank you for everything you do for the pet industry. But on the super smelly adventure. We wanna talk to you about pets in the classroom because that's where smiley, and I that's where our passionate live. So can you tell us about your project? I'd be happy to pets in a classroom is a program that we run that provides funding for teachers to have a classroom pet, and it can be any type of pet that they want that actually lives in the classroom. So we have small animals like hamsters and getting pigs, and we have reptiles like bearded dragons, we have fish of all kinds that live in aquariums. And we have bird small birds that are appropriate for the classroom environment. So what we do is. We have teachers will come to our website. They'll receive a grant for us, and it's available to teachers from pre K through ninth grade. And then they are able to go out and purchase whatever pet day like and the products they need to care for it and keep it in their classroom. I love this. You said that they're able to purchase these. Everything they need. So do fund all of this to anybody can do this once they're approved. Is that correct? That's absolutely, correct. We find that only the original setup and the animals that they choose. But each year the teacher can get a what we call a sustaining grant where they can go out and purchase up to fifty dollars worth of additional items. They need to care for the animal long-term. So our goal is to keep those pets in classrooms for the lifetime of the animal. So the children that come through each year had the opportunity to interact with those animals, I love this. And I'm sure that the children one of the things on my show was animals are healers and teachers. So you think the kids learn from the past what do you think they learn they most certainly do? And one of the biggest things that we have found some of the research that we have done is that the empathy that children develop for the pets and understanding that care needs of those pets translates to how they interact with their peers. So we know the socialization. That is that that results within the classroom is a tremendous benefit not only to the kids, but the teachers see that as a way for their children to bond together and to to work as a class instead of having conflict, and the patch really have a tremendous influence on that in particular. I love that you mentioned not only teaching empathy and respect for one another. But I'm sure it also teaches them to. Well, we know that when animals are in the workplace that the workers, the employees, the adults employees. They're more focused. They're happier. They get along better. Just their spirits rep lifted. Right. Oh, absolutely. And we know that teachers often will use that pad as reward for children. So the ability to care for the animal or spend some extra time with the bed when they have behaved. Well in class is a great motivator for kids. I love this Steve king. Thank you so much for bringing this program to the world. Thank you for sharing it on pet life radio. And if.

William Friedkin: 'The Exorcist'

"Hi, I'm Seth Abramovitch senior writer at the Hollywood reporter. And I'd like to welcome you to it happened in Hollywood. It's a new podcast. I'll be hosting with the help of my good friend. Chip pope. Hi there. That's me. I'm chip I'm a TV writer and a pop culture enthusiasts in each episode. We're going to be taking a journey backwards and time and revisiting some of the wildest chapters in Hollywood history iconic films zeitgeist TV shows infamous lawbreakers and just the random weirdness that color the place. We call LA La Land. Yes. And we think that you'll find in Hollywood the more things change the more. They stay the same. And that's what this show is about on each episode. We're going to be going to a key figure in whatever topic recovering and interviewing them. And then after the fact Seth, and I will comment on those prerecorded interviews, so let's get right to it. Welcome to the first episode of Hollywood. All right. Let's do some scene setting its December nineteen seventy three Richard Nixon one month before told a room full of reporters in Orlando, Florida. I am not a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. And in movie theaters. Cross the nation. Robert Redford, Paul Newman were playing crooks in a blockbuster hit called the sting. Then this thirty eight year old wonder canned Billy freed Ken comes along riding high. Having just won the Oscar for the French connection in seventy two. I love that. He's thirty eight year old wonderboy because the industry in nineteen seventy three's run by nine year olds he's young blood at thirty eight. He is he's whippersnapper and -ticipant for his chosen follow picture to French connection is at a fever pitch. His choice was the exercise. I now this was a big budget adaptation of smash hit novel about a little girl who gets possessed by the devil. The film was plagued by infighting delays. It went way over budget. He acted kind of crazy firing people left. And right people thought there was a curse on it yet. There was supposedly occurs. And there was all kinds of reports that this thing is going to be disaster. But when it finally came out, it became the all-time record breaking movie from Warner Brothers at the box office and went on to become one of the most admired and imitated horror films of all time. It's interesting that you should mention the sting because that was just like nostalgic entertainment that took place in the thirties. Whereas the exorcist was very edgy movie. Very hard are a hard arm and pretty much almost an ex. I mean, this is like a cold bucket. A holy water in the face of a pew Besson. Girl. I mean, even the Hollywood reporter this very publications seemed genuinely shocked by it in its review, they called it, quote, an abomination, and quote, and they call it the wretched excess of the year, but at the same time, they also suggested that it may be the most frightening movie ever made and forty five years later, it's still pretty much lays claim to that title of scariest movie ever made this week's special guest. We have the man responsible for making it. That's right director, William freakin. What throw the talk to this guy? He was great. He was absolutely wonderful. I didn't know what to expect. I thought he might be lawf- the wall get some of the films. He's made forget his age eighty two. I didn't know what we were going to get. But he was such a nice guy was just a thrill to sit at the feet of a master filmmaker.
