"Was the play in front of you on juju or were you just at your obviously otherwise engaged and then saw a flag on the field in the super bowl? Yeah, yeah, it was one of those situations where, man, I want to say pat was kind of like falling back and I just remember, I can't remember how I necessarily transfer. I remember grabbing pat and he's like holding, pointing, holding and I look over and it's a flag and so I look at silly sideline to see their initial reactions, their heads are down. I'm like, oh, it's not so obviously on a defense. And man, I mean, he comes back in the huddle, he's church more church mode, you know, I think next plays at McKinney kind of slides right there at the one. We were taking these and trying to get the ball centered up. It was crazy. Taking these is called church mode in Kansas City. So what are you saying? Yeah, church mode is like a situation where you don't want to score. Don't actually where it started. That's more of a question for you. But okay. But right away, right away, the clock management math was done on the spot. Everybody knew. And so it wasn't just McKinnon having a dawn on him around the two yard line to slide down and bounds. It was reminded in the huddle prior to all of that. That's what you're saying. Big time. And I know everyone to take credit away from any player. Sure. I mean, it's the NFL, man. Normally, all of those situations are practiced. Got it. Orlando Brown junior, a few minutes left with the new Cincinnati Bengal. Now it looks like you're going to tangle with your old team twice a year. Obviously, in Baltimore, what inside to Lamar can you give all of us is we're sitting around wondering about what's going on with him and your former team and you've obviously done business with them and that's part of the reason why you wound up in Kansas City, left tackle right tackle what you thought you wanted to be. So what insight can you possibly give the rest of us right now? Orlando? Yeah, I mean, I think when it comes to the Lamar situation, it gets turkey because of how much money is involved at the quarterback position. And I'm with him on asking for a fully guaranteed contract because of the standard destiny said, obviously, with the Sean. And but it's a lot of money. And those things take time. The giraffe hasn't happened yet. His teams are trading up. Everyone's trying to see who's going to fall to them. What are their needs? What's important because at the end of the day, I mean, personally, the way that I kind of look at it is, and I know it's kind of said like this, but I don't believe this. I believe that the quarterback's pod is the quarterback's four franchise. What Joe burrow makes doesn't necessarily affect hot Woods and marches or tea Higgins is going to make. What Aaron Rodgers makes, like I personally feel as though those decisions are based off of however front office feels about that player as far as outside of the quarterback. So wherever Lamar goes, I believe that it's going to take a little bit of time. Some of these teams are probably still trying to figure out who's going forward and then the draft. And I mean, I think he's going to end up in a great situation. If it is somewhere else, I do know that, you know, obviously Baltimore has a special place in his heart. I know that the franchise definitely feels a special way about him as well. So, man, I mean, it's a tough situation to be in for any player, but it's also a good situation because I mean, something that's going to come out of it for both sides. I guess to put a finer point on it Orlando is what makes him tick, because if it was about money, he could have already gotten an incredible chunk guaranteed, not all guaranteed. It seems like it's about the principle of it. And what makes him tick isn't what makes most people tick? I don't even know if I could if I could stay on that one for you. I just, like, he's another guy that just loves to win. And he loves the quarterback position. So you know, I don't really have a ton of insight because I got a really dove into it on him with that, but man, I mean, it's never been about the money for him, you know, it's definitely about winning. And you know, I set out to say, as players, you know, as you what you do for a living. You know, it's all about respect, as well as other things as far as winning too. So, you know, the principle, whatever that may be, I mean, I feel like that may be a little bit of it, but man, to him, I know what's most important is winning. Last one for you, Orlando, Brown junior. I've got Baker Mayfield coming up next hour. You've got a good story about you got a good story there. You want to share? Yeah. What are you going to do? So I was in college. I was not paying my car note. I got my cardinal snack.

"Indeed nuts is not here once again today. He's preparing for tonight's baseball game. Yeah. Good to see you over there. Jason feller. By the way, when I say that sort of thing, I'm thrilled to see you. I just don't understand why Mike needs the day off so he can do a night game. I believe. Good to see you over there. TJ Jefferson liked the candle. How are you? Candles that I remember the days when it didn't rain. I know. I don't. No. People really care across the country that training in Los Angeles. Absolutely not. It's kind of like complaining about your poker hand, right? Everybody's got a bad beat. Yeah, but it's been raining for three years. It's been great all year long and then you get to the playoffs and there's no games to be played. None of your guys are playing. So, I mean, that happens too. Do you want people, should I start the show with my fantasy team that was dynamite all year? And I can't get anybody to play basketball game this week. You've been talking endless smack for 20 weeks. That's true. Endless. 'cause I won 16 of the 19 weeks. And now here we go. And now you're just like, congrats, Don, on moving on. And they're just like, it's Monday. Relax. Wow, I can count games. You're gonna count. I can count games. I can count how many games my guys available. Why are we not making this right now? I'm going against MB who had another huge night last night, took the elbow in a four game week for your Philadelphia 76ers, and they battling out with brockman's Celtics for the two seed right now. That's of interest in the NBA right now, the Knicks and the calves are battling for the home playoff spot in the four 5 series. 54 points out of Julius Randle last night still can't beat the Timberwolves in Madison Square Garden. The Timberwolves and other two best players. We're waiting to see how everything shakes out in the playing game. My guy, I love Damien Lillard. He basically waved the white flag saying we're out of it for the ten seat. And second week of April is when the NBA playing tournament begins. So that's coming into the final throws. We've got NCAA tournament action coming up on Thursday night. We're talking to Mitch Henderson, the head coach of Princeton basketball. Later on today, so former Princeton player, he played with Pete carril and bouncing UCLA all those years ago. Now he's bouncing Arizona and Missouri to make the sweet 16. Princeton making its way into the sweet 16 for the first time, I guess in the field of 64, they used to make the sweet 16 than when they were just like what? 32 teams just gotta beat one you gotta just win one game you're in the sweet 16. Back with Bill Bradley was winning a Princeton tournament basketball games taking on creighton in Louisville. I imagine he's either in Kentucky today or making his way from south Jersey to Kentucky. So we'll talk with him an hour number two. We've got half of the team captains of Oklahoma sooner football from the 2018 season. Or 2017 season into 2018 when they were drafted. We have Orlando Brown junior now protecting Joe burrow in Cincinnati after, by the way, talk about guys that he's protected. Lamar Jackson. He was drafted in the same draft as Lamar Jackson by Baltimore in 2018, then he gets traded to Kansas City where he's protecting Patrick Mahomes and he was part of that offensive line that shut out Philadelphia in the Super Bowl this year. And then he hits the free agent market. The chiefs choose not to franchise tag him, let him walk. And lo and behold, he's now protecting Joe burrow in Cincinnati. How about that? And this is after he protected our second hour guest Baker Mayfield in college. So he knows how to protect significantly talented quarterbacks. Baker Mayfield chiming in from Tampa, where he's the new quarterback. I love it. We haven't spoken to him in forever. It's been a while. It has been years, right? Yeah. So now he's here on the program, or at least he'll be calling in from Tampa, Florida. And then DJ Moore, the new Chicago bear will be joining us here on the rich eisen show an hour number three, good times on all of that. Richie skipped over something about Orlando Brown real quick. What I skip over? Well, played for the ravens, what did Lamar Jackson do? One MVP. Went to the chiefs. With the Patrick mahomes do. You want MVP. Now he's going to sense he brought me do we put our money on Joe B farm VP? Friend VP? Should we should we bring this up to a lender brunch? I'm just saying. He's got the magic touch there. Look at TJ Jefferson producing from the corner. Great job. Joe burrow, 7 to one when MVP. Look, hey, put a hundred on him. A hundred what? All you have to do is put 80 down because Brock was still owes you 20 from last year's. Touche. And he's the one who would probably be putting the bed in for it. That's true. Touche. He is my guy with your guy. Everybody needs a guy. You're my guy. Hey, you know who's not the guy yet in New York? We need like a little graphic like, you know, just waiting to roger. Days without Aaron. Consecutive frozen like this right now. Do not adjust your television screen. You know, it's not the guy I had in New York. Hey Rogers. Where iron might be up the coast here getting rained on him out. I'd say that's what his workouts going through his workouts. I bet you he is up there. I don't know. Could be in New York already, looking at real estate, knowing that he's going to wind up there. He could be looking in New Jersey for real estate. But knowing he could wind up there. You know? It's going to happen. We all know it's going to happen. Mark Murphy is the president of the Green Bay Packers. And you read all the deep dives on Rogers and the latest deep dive, I think you sent it to me, right? Chris sending around the group text chain in the ringer or you tweeted it out or not. All right, doing deep dives on Aaron Rodgers and where things turned and what's going on in his head. And the Rogers turn in Green Bay to Ted Thompson being the general manager one day and the guy you brought Rogers in and sent far to the jets and then started building around Rogers and then no longer, it's Ted's gig it's Brian Gouda kunst gig and we all know how that's turned out. Well, I mean, they drafted Jordan love and then Rogers did come up with two MVP seasons. But anyway, long story short. Rogers is not yet a jet and Mark Murphy and the Gouda kun's lead packers are finally on the verge of turning to Jordan love as Rogers saw coming two.

"Right, if your team won the championship, would you attend the parade? Absolutely or not, I don't stand in crowds. Right now, nah, I don't stand in crowds. It's winning 52%. Dang. Okay. Yeah, but I think we've gotten to the point of the convenience of watching sports that the home experience is better in a lot of cases than going to the ballpark, going to a stadium. And what you put up with, what you pay all of those things. And TVs and surround sound. Like all of that, that the NFL wants you to go, but then we've created products that make you want to stay at home. I don't know if this is true at all, but I'm reading on Twitter here from someone named Kellen, who says that all schools in Kansas City area today have a red snow day since most teachers and students would have called out. Yeah, okay. That's pretty cool. Yeah. A red snow dude. Yeah. I like that. Everybody off. Go to the parade. Yeah. All right, we'll get to more phone calls coming up. Anthony Davis of the Lakers had a press conference and he had something interesting. I don't know if it's maybe that motivational, like that speech. Like, okay, this is, oh, I remember when Anthony Davis said this and this is what motivated the Lakers here is the Lakers forward. We definitely have to win more games and we will for sure. Boom. Okay. I pretty much sums it up. You got to win, wait, hold on, let me write that down. Got a win more games than we lose. Okay, ready? Let's go get them. That really is the key though. Yeah. Now you said definitely there. Are we sure? Definitely you have to? I think so. I think so. You can not lose games in the NFL and still win. That's Trent Dilfer. Mask the eagles coordinators. Yeah. Just prove that. They lost, but they won. They lost in one. They got jobs. Yeah, pauling. The Lakers are 26 and 32. I'm with Davis, if they win more games, they'll be way better shape for the playoffs. But if they lose, then they're probably not going to win. I can't see how. But I'm not going to call that yet. Yeah. It was some other basketball last week. Where more games and Kawhi Leonard career high 7 three pointers tied his career high, clippers over the warriors. Warriors are now 7 and 22 on the road. That's the worst road record for a defending champ since the bulls went 5 and 20. That was the strike shortened season in 1998, 99. Klay Thompson had 18 points in 28 minutes. What else? Chris Paul had 19 assists. The sons over the kings, Kevin Durant looks like he's going to play next week. 14 wizards made at least one field goal most in the NBA in a season, most by any team in franchise history. Just some of the basketball there. The Derek Carr situation is interesting. The Raiders released him. The only quarterbacks to be released coming off a Pro Bowl season.

What's the schedule today? Orlando? Man, right now I'm starting to start my morning off with you. We'll head up to the state and round ten, 9 30, I think we leave the stadium around ten 30. Yeah, he died maybe like in the late afternoon, so when I got home, I found out and my friends who were going to go trick or treating, but I didn't attend from what I remember. I don't remember if I wanted to or not. I was like 11. Okay. It's hard to remember. Yeah, yeah, shoot. It's so interesting over the arc of this show, right? I mean, we've been doing this for a long time. For the first, say we've been doing this 15 years, I guess. I don't know what it's been. 16. 16. For the first like 15 and a half, I had absolutely no idea, Paul's backstory. About his dad died on Halloween. I knew that his dad had died. I didn't know that it was on Halloween. I had literally no details whatsoever. So to hear him talk about it right now just the way he did is amazing. To see him open up like that. Yeah, walked home from school, walked into the house, got the news. I was wearing my dopey costume, whatever I wore to school that day I was in 6. We still wore costumes were in 6th grade. Just as goofy or something and I think I was Frankenstein, I had like green paint on my face or something. So it did look like tears just look like running makeup. Actually I didn't cry. I didn't cry. This is just a terrible story. It is. It's a great story, but it's a terrible story. He would have loved to have gone to the parade. Yeah, Betty wood. Was he a bear's fan? Oh, totally. Yeah. As you can imagine. Yeah. Alrighty. I got some other poll ideas. What do you wear to the funeral? Segue from this awfulness. How much do you love your mom? Speaking of parades, we'll talk to Orlando Brown junior the third, the chiefs offensive tackle. He'll join us from Kansas City, coming up next year on the Dan Patrick show. Those new traeger grills that we saw out in Arizona when Chad brought those out and started cooking for us. Oh my goodness. It's like, I'm fine with the grill that I have. And then all of a sudden you see the new timberline grill you go. We got to have that in the man cave. And then I think Chad's going to bring the new ones out next week, week after that. And we'll be good to go on meet Friday there. The ironwood is a wonderful grill. They've done it. The all new ironwood is awesome. Meant to elevate your smoking grilling game to the

"I'm host an audio producer of the arrowhead. Pride podcasts networks steven certa on wednesday. The chiefs are back on the practice field. We heard from head coach. Andy reid quarterback patrick mahomes so as tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton will kick things off in that order. We'll start with andy reid. Then you'll hear patrick mahomes. We'll take a quick time out. And then you'll hear from tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton for challenge playing the ravens football team rogan football team. So we're aware that and we'll start off today preparation time. You're working here monday night. This is that kind of problem proposal. Be so vic. Sammy watkins fan. I like him as a human being. I like him as a player. And i wish him the best or playing them so i can't wait them the best for that for the rest of the season. I wish we should the heck of a question but report yesterday. That showed that way scared. Se of two part question here. Have you talked about that. And then what are your concerns about that. He might go to a college division. Yeah listen. I haven't really talked to him about that but i i know he's from that area and he's going to be great wherever he goes so and i'm his biggest fan so astounded if he wants to go there where he wants to go there. Lucky dab unless you guys know how feel on that of the world them. And i think he's a football coach and a great man so and you walk into obviously there but his first game going back into the race. Is there something extra. They come players in the first game. Especially when it's such china offered. Yeah they've got justin houston. They're there's a little bit of that going on in this game of knowing knowing people so and organizations. But i'm sure he'll be excited. I think what it really comes down to it though. He's going to focus on his performance. What he needs to do to to perform well so he's mature guy that waste now couple of years but did between the contains a billing list because of wessel about this against of our very well coached and they're they've got good players and so it's always a knock down drag out fight there and they're tough. That's the way they practice. That's the way you go about their business. And so we've got gotta make sure we prepare ourselves right for it. So every play is on his down when you play them Mournful yeah well. Both of them. Can they know how to run the football and you saw that even with the injuries that are taking place ran the ball. So i think they're office. Coordinator has got a tremendous respect for it. He he's got a great feel for run game. Lamar obviously as a huge threat. I mean he's just he can throw it to run it and he's smart so all those things go in likes to play the game so you gotta prepare yourself the right way. They're going on now. I think it's great they-they've again is a great human being. I think he's good for that organization in particular where they say you know what people perceive where sit now And he hasn't believing in tyrod is a i think he's a very good quarterback. Were i was lucky enough to have them in a pro bowl so got to work with them a little bit and now he has an opportunity to play and look like he took advantage of that opportunity very well back to the practice today. Coming from less state review wouldn't miss didn't have and report back. Yeah so. I mean he's a great player and and not taking anything away from the other guys. I mean they did a nice job back there. But you're obviously. I miss somebody like that. So he's wondering primers signal callers back there so be getting it back in that role and keep the communication. I've everybody's gonna play them. Those guys. it was great great experience for twenty two. Had a nice day problem for how he handles business He's still gonna play. So i mean he's going to have an opportunity he's in different different group. Is it out so but it'd be great to get around back when you talk about justin houston but they have gotten involved cliffs campbell. Wing guys of washington played a raiders with you. Love fast fast fast. They get the ball just as actually playing very well forum slight. Then i'm a fan of his too. So i mean he's a football player and he knows you knows this offense and so but those other guys they they play play hard and aggressive and you know you gotta be accurate. What you do in may help.

"Right. you know. Dan sorenson might be one of the best defensive players on the giants so it comes in waves. Dan sorenson has always been a weird case. 'cause fans if either thought he was way up here like he was just as phenomenal safety always clutch right player right time and other fans always thought that he was horrible and not not fast enough. Couldn't guard people constantly getting burnt. When i think he's just he is what he is. He's a very good backup if he's starting you're like okay. Maybe not our first choice. But he's fine. You know been neiman kind of the same way i you know. I don't think benjamin by any means a some study. i don't think he is but he's also not this horrible player. he's okay. He's one of those guys that you need because not everyone on your roster is going to be approval not everyone's going to be able to get paid ten million dollars to be aback. Bidding wouldn't be starting right now. If gay junior wasn't hurt so no i. I think we do need to have some more appreciation for some his unsung guys who are thrust into these roles that otherwise they wouldn't be an even dan sorenson probably wouldn't play as much if one tornado wasn't coming back from injury. I mean these are all aspects are tasked with jobs that they originally their contracts were set up to be totally till yeah. I'm i'm until agreement with you. I i just i guess i wanted to have a little segment. Four the unsung hero. Here's to you been neiman. Here's to you mike. Remers as we pick up glass of boulevard wheat and just drink it down there. You go up before we go out migrant. I love andy reid. I love him. Best coach in the nfl. I think though. I but you just spend all this money in any offense align right. You also have the best quarterback in the best tight end in the best wide receiver or at least one of the best wide receivers in the nfl. Why mike remers why that trick. Play my favorite trick. Play is were the best quarterback in the nfl throws to the best tight end in the nfl for a touchdown. Just keep doing that. Like i understand. You wanna keep teams on their toes and all this but my understanding was with this new oftens of line. You sunk a lot of money. A lot of draft capital. Because i guess the money that i think are twenty six an actual cap for the offense alania the actual dollars since a lot. Because you have three rookies on the line. Right and there's going to be a contract renegotiation hopefully with orlando brown junior. So i get it. But he spent a lot of capital on this offense align use them trust them or at least let mahomes do what mahomes does. Don't do this little shovel. Triple option thing to mike. Remers a backup lineman. Maybe maybe too cute. You know maybe it was. Maybe it was a reward hopeful reward for putting him at left tackle for the first time and then hanging out to dry. Everyone achieves kingdom.

What makes him different than tk. What makes them different than a brilliant speaks. And i get it. They're different body types. Say what you will. My point is of these developmental guys. What makes him stand out and after game one again small sample size. We haven't seen a lot so we'll see but i. I don't want it to be week in week out. Chris jones only getting pressure. Frank clark coming back whenever he comes back that should obviously help but until he does who was gonna step up. Yeah well andy. Reid said today that matthews already coming back next week. So that's solved in the secondary still. It sounds like though waiting on. Frank clark's hamstring to get right whatever that means and So yeah it's it's gonna be really interesting to see if he misses another game. You got to start thinking about okay. Is this going to be a recurring thing and again let's not forget and And maybe we're beating the drum here but no no non quarterback in the nfl is making more money than frank. Clark and i think even then only like five or six. Quarterbacks are are making more money or have a bigger cap it this year so expectations fair or not. That's what you get when you sign for that much money. Yeah what do you think. No one hundred percent. And he's heard a lot from troops came down the one thing. You can always point to look back on his. at least you can say. He showed up when it matters in the playoffs. He was a major part. Win a super bowl so no matter what we think about the contract you can always look back and say we know we at least got one. And he was a major part of that one thing i want to touch on the chiefs of struggle against tight.

"Welcome back to the attic podcast. We're talking the roller coaster of a game be still my beating heart Was what i had to tell myself all game long. Let's talk about that defense You know look we're missing. Matthew were missing. Frank clark willygate juniors going to be out for three games. Are you giving them a hall pass and saying hey look we're good. We one guy's missing. Who cares or are you concerned by what you saw. Four fifty of sixty minutes on sunday afternoon slightly concerned but also if they show up when it matters. That's what you want anyways. They showed up when it matters. Chris jones legitimately took over dan. Sorenson huge play allayed. I mean cornerbacks. Huge play late mike us. I think he was worth that. Six round draft pick. I mean nick bold. I think look really solid for most a game for part of the time out there. He looked like the best linebacker on the field. Zoo guy i get it. Maybe my eyes or little bit blinded by that but he looked really good. Seven tackles against two of the most physical running backs in the nfl. He does need to work a little bit on his pass coverage but he wasn't known for that mizzou. What's going gonna take. Time is at a new level as long as he wraps up which he did. I'm happy Lammens was great and special teams. My goodness at each show up one thornhill. That was a tired. Matthew play got his hand in there. Perfect defense no pass. Interference gets his hand. Last-second flies at of schwartz. His hand when it mattered. Most the defense stepped up. I do think we do need to see more pressure on the defense align. I didn't think i heard reads named one time. We had talked about ozzy's and they kept hyping them up. It was a great signing. I'm not gonna write it off after one game but it was a little disappointing. You get a new toy and you don't even hear from him. It was basically chris jones and then what so. If i had a major complaint it would be on the defensive line outside of chris jones. Yeah i gotta be honest. I'm not sure what to make their remit. Remember this recall with me. Maybe what you. And i just in general chiefs kingdom what were we saying after the draft like feel back then we were going. We need to sign..

"How the offense was able to come back because the first half. The browns in my opinion played as perfect as they possibly could. Kevin stansky did a helluva job in the first half extremely aggressive going for on that fourth down. When chris jones had the offsides Went for the two point conversion and got it. They made the the chiefs play from behind day for as equally aggressive as they were in the first half. They just let off the guests. How many times back in the past and we see andy redo something similar. You get a lead you try to run the clock out. Well guess what too. Much time left on the clock kevin's to get think we'll learn from this the thing. The browns played a fantastic game. But just let that sink in the browns play. Nearly perfect in the chiefs. Were still able to come back a lot of folks have. The browns is what the third best team in the afc. A playoff team the chiefs first time with his offensive line against great defense one of the best stevens affronts able to still hang thirty three able to come back just to me the says more about kansas city chiefs than it does. The cleveland browns. That yes how good. Kansas city is cleveland browns. Nothing to be sad about. You played a very good game. She's just better. Yeah i look. I wanna give credit to the browns here because they had a hell of a game plan early executed to perfection right. Stefanski was just looking like a coaching genius. Nick cia. I mean nick chub and cream hunt were running through our defense through the chiefs defense like like a knife through your melted butter like it was crazy it was it was insane to watch except it was the same feeling. I got whenever like lev. Bell used to be the patient runner for the steelers that he was. And you know he's gonna run. He does that stutter. Step thing and you're like you're like that dude gonna get a first down and we won't be able to stop it and we know it and we couldn't do it so i you know the brown looked. The browns lost to a great team. If you were watching the buffalo bills yesterday right now do you really think turn number two like yes you do. Because i'm watching this brown's team and i'm thinking you know what they didn't have some key players to jed rick wills went out to left tackle. You know odell wasn't even in the game at all grant in the safety. I mean they were missing some key guys to you just like the chiefs. They're very young team. they're only going to get. They've got sixteen.

"Let's do it. Let a let me start with this. The nfl one hundred comes out before the season. The chiefs have four players in the top fifty. Five in the top sixty right. Matthew was out this game so we only got four. But if you're thinking what does it take to go over the top in the nfl. The browns have a loaded roster top to bottom right like they're they're a great team but when you have those guys like the guys better than all the other guys right like you were talking like chris. Jones is on. That list comes up huge mahomes kelsey like like all the guys who put the chiefs like who will achieve to the opening win. Were all those guys who were like on that list. It's like in a game filled with ille- athletes having the best is what puts you over the top and it makes me appreciate the job that brett beach does to go. Yeah i'm not just gonna try to fill this hole. I'm gonna go out swinging and you see a game like this and you think. Oh yeah this is. Why each always goes for the best of the best of the best at these positions. Because that's what it really takes to win like the big games in the nfl. Yeah baker mayfield was very good. Pat holmes was the best jarvis landry. Very good tyree kill was the best david yoku very good. I'll touch more on him later. Travis kelsey was the best. Brown's kept trying to hang their hat on. Well one to fifty three or say to fifty three. Outside of patrick mahomes the roster was better. And i go did travis kelsey all of a sudden no longer achieve as tyreek hill. No longer chief and again no tire and matthew so obviously there myles garrett chris jones you know both you can say comparable chris. Jones had himself a ridiculous game especially late myles garrett to his credit also had five pressures against a very good tackle in orlando brown junior. But that she's just had too much top end elite talent when it mattered. Who was getting open. Tyree kill travis. Kelsey mahomes always seems to be one step faster than ever is chasing him. It just doesn't get it doesn't get tired watching these. Three guys do what they do. I know it's early in their careers. You can't say to the best trio of all time but are the most explosive. If this continues would they be the best trio of all time. Because it just seems travis. Kelsey gets open whenever he wants to tyreek hill gets open downfield. Whenever he wants to mahomes makes throws that legitimately no one else in the nfl can even dream of.

I'm gonna be honest. no For myself not only many special teams. I just play football block. But i mean it takes everybody off as it so i mean it's not really i think a lot of guys that play logo throw block or some somebody like everywhere but the quarterback are bought some type of special teams on tape so we all take pride in that in at the day. Where one team so we want to see them too good. They wanna see us to guide. It's not we're just only special teams rowing beef ago off. It's just one team so And there's only one common going win game so that's only if i get jealous. It's we appreciate the time. Thanks for joining us in london where it seems like it's always raining. "Heard from anthony hitchens and mccoll hardman and now. We continue on with left. Tackle orlando brown junior. Thank you for taking my question. A notice you kind of have teams when you come to the microphone. Want to know what your team is You know would you have on but more seriously going into the training camps your first time with all the players What are you hoping to get out of this. And what type of what type of kamari are you hoping to make the offense to lie. Training camp is always important for that. Reason i think it gives you an opportunity to get around coach his teammates and really get to know people for who they are just because of the amount that you're spending here consistently on a day-to-day to day basis with some I'm looking forward to getting to know. All of my teammates Offense and defense all the coaches in staff around here as well Not as you got a lot of free time and training camp but you know it definitely helps pass and tom by getting no guys go next to aaron land. Good air appreciate the time here. I know it's a lot of new faces in the offense ally room. Especially you is. Maybe the you guys have communicated leading up to this in the kind of the relationship that jello worked off man. We we've actually been communicating all off season. I would say definitely ever since. We all stepped on on in the building together. Not as it's a great group man. I think that's one of the most important things to a great office. Alon is just a continuity off the field and the news. good off the food. It'd be great on the field and You know we play position man. That's hard that's very Different i feel like from a lot of different positions in sometimes. All you have is guys on. Line of scrimmage which you to lean on and Then i think we got a really really good group going into this next to pete sweeney. orlando. i was wondering through the off season. Just how comfortable do you feel already with joe. -tuni- in what do you looks forward to about building that as time goes on here at training look forward to man does a great player. He's a great guy You know we've done a ton of work together. We hung out off the food already Man i mean he's great. I got nothing bad to say a bottom. I really look forward again back to work with them and getting going on this long season just just grind it out. Man like cement mcmullen goodman. Orlando you kind of already answered this but just here training came. It's real football time so excited. Are you finally with a new team and all your teammates definitely get out there and play some real football season. I'm excited man. I'm excited i. You know one of my favorite parts of football isn't necessarily just wearing helmets but the soda pass to so once we could disorder pez romantic iraq. In you know that's when the robot players come on. I'm looking forward to next to her. Gop good herbie early no along those same lines. I mean obviously believe with the new protocols in place that long acclimation period before the patch do come on temper. Some of that enthusiasms over exert yourself in his first five days before the pads. Do come on honestly. I'm not really concerned with it. You know right now. I'm trying to take every. Dan approachable to game day. Mentality and get better each and every day man shoulder pads or not like. I said i'm still looking forward to getting it on. But you know i'm gonna attack every day just like i got him on four morals. Go right down the line of men her meant. Hey orlando goodness again you know. The cheese made an investment. Obviously the to acquire you and after the season you know you're hoping that there's going to be a contract extension of some sort. It does that. Make this season a bit of approve at year for you to yield approve it to the chiefs that they made the right move and and to prove it that you know you deserve to be here long term part. This team's future personally man. You know. I i've taken it upon ourselves throughout my life to really feel like i got some approved normal very limited athlete as a player as person I'm not the shortest guys. Obviously you know. I don't often win the levers battle on. So i've always felt like i've got lots of proof and i'm attacking this year just like every other year to give better to to beat the best player that i can beat a puts. His team in super bowl contention next to adam. Tighter but at orlando was just wondering whether you did anything in the off season this year outside of practice to prepare to play left. Tackle that maybe you hadn't done in previous years So did a lot more film guys that i was a little bit unfamiliar with light. Trade thomas Looking at a little. Bit of king dunlap film. Gaza coach read has worked within in going back and looking at some more than argon. Films will You know whatever. Stains to take from in john ryan as well on from backing back in philly But it was a lot of things to take from those different different players. Obviously we got a lot of similarities in size and height and you just how coach was able to.

"It was veteran report day at kansas city chiefs training camp in saint joseph and with that we got a zoom availability in the early evening. We heard from linebacker hitchens wide receiver mccoll hartman and left tackle orlando brown junior. And we'll go in that order on this podcast starting with linebacker. Anthony hitchens anthony as you guys are starting camp. I i know one of the goals. I had asked you about during the off season. It's to just get better in the red zone. What is your initial focus. What do you hope for the defense as a whole to accomplish when this campus said and done. Yeah just improve like i said Back in the spring. Just keep improving the only way you can get better by working at it so Coach read and the rest of our coaching staff. Put put together a plan for us to get more reps in red zone so all you could do go out there and work at it. So i mean that's the forefront of our mind right now so just to get better in all areas especially in original extra hour bt ob derby and the get i don and we'll linda brown. Was he talked before you. And he's mentioning is excitement about puna pads on and getting the work and obviously y'all have to go through a five nation periods but from defensive one of you especially from the linebackers. Does it mean to you when you do finally get the pads on under some live contact. Oh yeah it's it's been a while it's been since early february so anytime you get out there and We're blessed to be able to do this for for a job. So anytime you get the pads on and get out there and run in and hit and then having fun. It's always a good thing. So i'm right with. I'm excited about it as well. So just looking forward to keep improving this year and in this camp in getting better. It's going to rob collins good around. Do you miss the fanfare showing up in front of you know some folks and with your teammates and guys used to dress in costumes i mean yeah and i'm not big on that so i mean a lot of people get a kick out of it Is a good thing for the fans. And some were player to express their personalities in what they show up at camping cars and clothes and things like that so i'm very straightforward simple guy. You know what i had owned today if i where tomorrow so pretty straightforward guy but i mean some guys can express yourself in different ways in. I'm sure there's somebody's going to address. You know different this year. But i i haven't seen it yet. So it's gonna sam mcdowell. Let's we talked to. Mccall hardiman earlier and he mentioned just how much the super bowl loss stuck with them. I'm wondering how much it stuck with you throughout the off season. Yeah i it. It is sucked But at the same time we we have to move on There's work to be done. It's a new year starting today. So i mean we gotta start all over and try to accomplish it again this year. So i it's in his is there We know we don't want to be back in that place again What the losing and the super bowl. So we're we're just gonna learn from it girl from it You just all the wrongs and the rights build on a rights. You know correct. The wrongs and just keep in better. I'm not the guy that's gonna look about the past. And until i'm done playing football so i'm always worrying about you. Know what can i do right now to get better to get back to that game. It's gonna to robert rimsson. Go rubber.

"Of fifty five ish players. What is the what used to be a fifty three man roster but they have to fifty five on game days or something and then you could add an extra offense of linemate whatever it is you know i mean that's like thousands of player the chiefs have four of the top twenty. I'm gonna stop my complaining there right so i'm good. I'm good you know like you know. Maybe some people want to get in the weeds. Like ron parker should be two hundred and thirty four versus. Am by the way hat. Tip to ron parker who just found out. He's getting inducted into the new berry. College athletics fame. That's really all. I have to say about it. But hey ron parker shoutout. That's yeah congratulations. You big shout outs to you. I i was honestly i was okay. That tyron wasn't top fifty. I feel like it went to like seventy five. We'd see tyrod matthew. That seems about where i would put them. Honestly jamal adams. I didn't see in the top fifty list i. I would probably still have jamal adams above taryn matthew. I don't think necessarily on this team. But i think if you're taking it from a look at it from a thirty thousand foot view and you're looking down like player to player. I think most people would go jamal. Adams probably not. Probably i don't i don't have a huge issue. I thought this list was pretty. Well thought out. And yeah again like you said four chiefs in the top twenty. I'm not saying bleep. I can't beat that a But we do have plenty more to say in. Just a few minutes will be back after the break with scott loring with to talk a little bit more about his training camp preview and matchups. "You don't like breaking bad either. Oh i love it. That's another argument so the anti hero in like what was possible because of the sopranos they then took and made it into a different format. Different show of course but a great show nonetheless. That's what the chiefs are right now with. Patrick mahomes like what you saw from guys like john. Elway and aaron rodgers. Where they had these quarterbacks were doing things similar. Sing patrick mahomes. The chiefs are trying to take those same concepts and then perfects them right and they're trying to do it at an even higher level then what those teams have done in the past. Patrick mahomes knows that and he knows. I would imagine. This is probably best chance over the next couple of years to really accomplish something like this. It's going to be harder. And horder as he is. Contracts continues to become a little bigger for the chiefs to be able to surround him with the talent that they have right now on the roster. Tyreek kill travis tells you this generational those two guys. You can make a legitimate argument right. Now are the best at their position. Then they go out and add top ten ish left. Tackle top five ish offensive guard. You've got as much talent as any offense right now. Blue chip player wise has ever had really and so. It's possible that the chiefs could do this not going to predict it. I'm not saying they're going to twenty zero this year but if ever there was a team that could do it preseason wise. It's it's one of these. Patrick malls let offenses. That's what i'm saying. Like i think they they know they can be special and i think they are like they have a quest to be special which is upset before you generally don't see from a team that's accomplished what this team is accomplished but in the first episode they are ticked off and you can see like patrick mahomes guy said man that dude is. He understands what he was going to say like. Listen to it right became and you didn't want nothing it wouldn't. It shouldn't have been controversy. But pats not stupid. Pet knows as soon as it rolled out of his mouth of. That's going to be a thing. And he's and he's been calculated since he's been here and i'm thinking he wants people know like this is where we are like we. We want to go with an ams this year and And i i love the confidence and it's going to be fun to see because sometimes man you all watch the games podcasts or do you watched it too he. The chiefs sometimes slept walk through game if they didn't really care the jets game. They didn't care the panther gay. They didn't like. I think you're going to see greatness to the test. Were they care about these gains at cairn away to dish on his people and i am. You're seeing it right off the bat from patrick mahomes and i'm i'm in sports excited that really. I'm excited. I see you brought up somebody. I need to address this. I'm going outta turn. I need to address as you brought up orlando brown became you. Please explain to me why he chose the number. He showed what number teachers wrong fifty. Damn seven you've gotta be kidding first off. I'm a numbers person. You play certain positions. There are available. Knowledge has been a rough off season tree. My man i'm just saying there. Now i mean now. Now they've changed. Numbers coup right. But i'm ready for defensive tackles were in the number five. It's gonna be great. I'm into that. But i'm just saying if you are a tackle you know we're no fifty seven. You don't wear a bad linebacker number now. Every time i see him. I seen him now. Some tyree keel. And i'm sitting there saying speaks get yo ass off the field. That's all i see is brilliant. Speaks fifty seven see. I'm a little concerned about his decision. Making right now. Seventy eight is still available. That is a perfectly great left. Tackle number gimme seventy five. Jonathan auden orlando pace and give me a good strong fifty seven fifty seven. I'm trying to think of seriousness. Who are the all time. Great number fifty seven's objected. That's look on jackson from fifteen. For broncos were fifty seven that is at the greatest number fifty seven. i mean. he's look. I looked this up on a according to google. It's white stevenson. A center for the miami dolphins aids. That's the best one ever do it. He's in the hall. that is just. He's got i mean he can. He's he's so important that klamath years okay. Yeah he's a guard that the that feels better guard but he's the east type of guy where he can bum rush anybody on that team for his number he wants and let me hold a let me hold it seventy seventy one ever. I don't care there's nobody in the offensive line that gets the number choice over him and he. He went into and shows raised his hand and said i want fifty seven. We heard what you've heard. What the story was right. Please no please enlighten me on the store. It's a combination of rafi bad. Do what this has something to do with like cancer ale. S or something. I'm going to feel now. It's not that bad for you i. It's it's part. His dad's lumber in part jamal. Brown's number is mentor to people who passed around. I thought damore ground of these. Kill them all brown to brown on this podcast audience. I thought he he's not i feel better about it. Let's see now. His dad thing that feels now nope. I'm sorry that's avenue twos available. He could have gone seventy two. That would have been a balanced seventy eight. He was seventy eight in baltimore. That's a strong left. Tackle number a strong. It's gonna take me a half year to not look at bream speaks with that that it's gonna take me a half a year not to look at it. He couldn't have taken seventy from prince. Daego noga yes. He could take rush all their asses. Like there's no one on this team that he could. That's an offensive lineman number like he could do it without paying like man man. I'm not going to give you fifteen stacks. I just won't that number so just give me the damn number like the larry t the canadian. Dr amanita hold that seventy six. I'll give a damn. What kind of work you've done. I don't care if your doctor hallo you doing it. I'm gonna need seventy six. He could've took it. Larry larry i don't even know if he's going to be here. Apparently he hasn't shown up to any of these. Ota's as yet since you went out order. I'll go ahead and do the same. Ron own too. I think he's been drinking. He's had enough. I think he got the year off until this man canadian whisky about big good chris long podcast earlier today he added julian edelman on and chris. Long was like man when you retire. It's as if for for your entire life. You were a dog that was out in the yard and there was an invisible fence up and then when you retire that fence goes away and you can suddenly like meander around. You're like damn why all my life inside of that fence and once you go outside of that fence you can never go back in it again. Larry looks like a guy that will let himself hang on a second layer larry's out here saving lives. You can't just accuse him having thinking problem. I didn't say he had a drinking problem. Certa i said he's out heaven drinks. Okay when you retired like you re like. I think larry larry if he doesn't have football never retired though. I know but i mean eddie played somewhere else at. I'm having a hard time. Seeing the numbers at the spot that he that he takes kids the city. But i think he might just look at it and say mail me. Kansas City Chiefs Trade for Baltimore Ravens Tackle Orlando Brown

"In the NFL is the trade between the Kansas City Chiefs in the Baltimore Ravens. So Kansas City. I'm sure you saw on the Super Bowl. Is very deficient at offensive line. And this off season, they have been doing a pretty complete and massive overhaul of their offensive line. From the A F C championship game. Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs are going to have five new offensive lineman. Their entire starting offensive line is going to be different than it was last season. We don't gotta get into the nitty gritty of it, but I am really surprised. That the Baltimore Ravens Would help the Kansas City Chiefs. If you are the Ravens And you are making a list. Of your biggest competitors in the A. F. C. Isn't Kansas City at the top of the list. If you're Baltimore And You're doing your due diligence, So you know your strengths and weaknesses. And also in the opposition. You know Kansas cities as well. They do not have a left tackle. They also selected 31. 31 is not where you're going to find your day one starter at that position. You could find day one starters at 31. A lot of other positions, but you're not finding it. At left tackle. Well,

Chiefs Trade First-Round Pick for Ravens Tackle Orlando Brown

"Draft. We're talking the NFL. We're talking Ravens. We're talking chiefs. So why not bring in Matt Verte? Ram of fan sided here to join me to talk a little chiefs and talk about this trade that went down yesterday. But first and foremost met good afternoon to you, man. Thank you for joining us. Always a pleasure having you, man. Yeah, thanks for having my pleasure, man. Well, I wanted to bring you on because I thought it was fitting T o to talk about this trade. That sort of snuck up on me at least history. We were on air doing our mock draft yesterday and kind of right before we kicked off and got on a got on air. The trade between the Ravens and the Chiefs and Orlando Brown heads over to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange. For the 31st overall pick. The Ravens will now have in this upcoming draft on on Thursday night and, ah, a couple of other pictures Well overall when you looked at this trade as the details, sort of trickled through a couple minutes afterwards, what were your original thoughts? When you saw the trade? I think obviously you and I would probably agree. It's a home run for Kansas City, Kansas City. Now takes care of their left tackle position. Long term. I actually Matt think it was a smarter and better terms of value, then going out and signing Trent Williams for whatever they ultimately I think, 120 million or some kind of crazy number that he ultimately signed in San Francisco for I think they end up with a player with I think the longer term future there in Kansas City and probably longer longer window of top and tear play. So what's your overall thoughts about the trade and maybe from both perspectives? My first thought was how the heck to Kansas City also gotta check around my thought is well, like I was done. In fact, Actually, I saw it when I saw out of jester tweeted out. Texted a shorts right away of with knowledge of the trade center. The these correct terms. I just thought it means great is out of his. I thought maybe there was a stereo type. Oh, no, that's that's that's correct. That's what it is. Okay. Um Look, I I think you know, ultimately, depending on what value Tory used, the chief basically gave up either a late first or a mid round second round pick, Um, for Brown. He's a two time pro bowler is 24 years old. He had 800 snaps at left tackle last year. He didn't give up the sack if you give up, quarterback, Okay,

Kansas city has changed for a bunch of draft picks and on top of schefters report. Patrick mahomes just puts up five smiley face emoji now. They've got joe. Tony kyle long austin blythe and they're probably going to get the rhondda rene tardif back so we thought they might sign eric fisher down the road. That'd be only because of an injury when he gets healthy but orlando brown junior one to play left tackle. Obviously ronnie stanley gets all the left. Tackle money there. So and the run when he's healthy cell orlando brown junior change for the chiefs. Pick number thirty one and a couple of other Picks in this year next year's draft.
