Doug Welcomes Robert Bork Jr, Head of the Antitrust Education Project
"My just joy today to have bob Morton junior owned. He has been a leader in this industry, not only following up on what his father, Robert bork had done, judge bork had done. But in his own right working with this today, bob, welcome to the podcast today. It's such a pleasure to finally be on, I'm sorry about the delays, but here we are. Yay. We made it. Well, to get everybody started off, tell us about where what you're doing now, your organization, and then we're just going to dive head deep into this stuff. The semi short version is that for a long time, I was a reporter and then got sick of that and decided to get a grown-up job. And worked in corporate communications and strategy, but most recently, and really this is a labor of love for my father. I saw in 2016 or so that Elizabeth Warren and others were having sort of their left wing Appalachian meeting to discuss how to hijack antitrust and turn it into a weapon against business, not just big business, all business. And my first thought was, well, I wonder where my dad's book is. And he had written a book called the antitrust paradox in 1978, but it was out of print. And you couldn't find it unless you wanted to spend three or $400 on an old copy. So I decided we needed to get the book back into print. And I asked Mike Lee, senator Mike Lee to write a new introduction. And I wrote a new forward and took some time, but we got it out. It's on Amazon and Barnes and noble. It's very readable.

Tank Man Saves Lives
"That it's a fascinating comparison Putin gave you the name I like the most tank man. We might start asking your Secret Service detail to call you tank man quote. Tank man saved our ass. We can work with the Russians. You want to tell that story how tank man that's you, Mike Pompeo, according to Putin, saved his ass. Oh, goodness. Yeah, it's a good story from the book never given inch. We were somewhere in the world, and I get a call from president Trump saying, Mike, you're not going to believe this, but I just got off the phone with Vladimir Putin. This is president Trump. He's about to issue a press release thanking you for saving Russian lives. And my first thought you could imagine, this is what I think this was 18 might have been 19. I was now would have been 18. I was still a director. And the first thing I thought is, oh my gosh, I'm gonna get impeached too for having worked for the Russians. And flash through my head for a moment, then it struck me. I remembered that earlier in the week we had provided some information to the Russian intelligence services that had permitted them to take down a terror plot in St. Petersburg. We'd provided that because it was the right thing to do. We'd provided that information also because I'm confident saved American lives. There's always thousands of Americans traveling in St. Petersburg, or at least before the war. There were. It's the kind of way we can work on counter terrorism operations, even with adversaries like Russia. We counted on them to provide us information. We gave it to them. They did the hard work on the ground and then it was really something. Maybe ten 15 minutes later, there's the press release with Vladimir Putin thanking Mike Pompeo personally and the CIA organizationally for having saved Russian lives.

Your Daily Prayer
A Prayer to Share Why We Pray
"God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with the temptation, you will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it. Once I learned this truth, I began praying it when I faced and still face the temptations of the world. When my life seems challenging, I find myself clinging to prayer. I remember the season I was pregnant with our son, and most of his first year of life, I had a hard time opening the word. My Bible sat for months at a time. However, the one thing that never got dusty or set aside was my prayer life. That year 9 months were one of the most intimate seasons of prayer I had with the lord. And it brought me back to his word. Roman's 1212 says, be joyful and hope, patient and affliction. Faithful in prayer. This became a reality for me. While I never won a season of my Bible being set aside like that again. And I'd never recommend it to someone else. My prayer life changed in the deepest way, and I once again saw the need to engage frequently and fervently with my creator. It's true, my faith life would be dull without prayer. God shows up in the most hinder ways when we share our hearts with him. Sometimes the prayers don't even have to be spoken. He knows the words before they leave my tongue. So when thoughts are swirling, sin begins to invade, and my walk is in a season of struggle, I know one thing I can always turn to Jesus. I can always speak his word, open my Bible and walk in truth. I pray this has reminded you that your prayer life matters. It will change your faith, it will change your relationship with God. Deepen your desire to share your testimony, and it will reveal things about you that you'd miss otherwise. Let's pray. Lord, thank you for allowing us and calling us to pray. Prayer is a gift and something that needs to be a first thought, not an afterthought. I ask that my heart be turned towards truth and that my heart would be emboldened to share with others why I pray. In Jesus name, amen.

On Bitcoin's 14th Birthday, the Gemini-DCG War of Words Heats Up
"All right, folks, while I hope you have had a great holiday season in a very happy new year. And boy, this year is off with a bang. Yesterday for most businesses in the U.S. was a day off, which is what happens obviously when new year's falls on a Sunday. But that didn't stop some of the biggest drama in crypto for coming right up to the fore. So a quick recap of the genesis DCG Gemini situation. Genesis is a digital currency group subsidiary. By the way, so is coin desk. And genesis has been caught up in a lot of the crypto institutional failures of this year. In July, court documents from the liquidator of three arrows capital showed that DCG genesis had lent three arrows capital a total of $2.4 billion. Three C had put up approximately $1.2 billion worth of crypto as it was valued at the time as collateral. In the court filings, it showed that DCG claim against three AC was by far the largest at 1.2 billion. The next biggest creditor was Voyager digital whose claim was 687 million, and then there was one more claimant with 302 million and the rest were in the lowly 8 figures. At the time a spokeswoman for DCG said both the DCG and genesis balance sheets remained strong, with no remaining exposure to three hours capital, genesis continues to be well capitalized that its operations are business as usual. How many times was that sort of statement last year proven to be not completely true? So fast forward to the FTX collapse. At first genesis said they had basically no exposure, but then a few days later, that was up to 175 million. However, just a few days after FTX went into bankruptcy, genesis global capital, which is the company's lending unit halted withdrawals. is never a good sign in fact, it's usually the sign that something much bigger is going on than anyone had wanted to let on. The VP of communications and marketing at DCG said at the time, today genesis global capital genesis lending business made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend redemptions in new loan originations. This decision was made in response to the extreme market dislocation and loss of industry confidence caused by the FTX implosion. The decision impacts the lending business at genesis and does not affect genesis trading or custody businesses. Importantly, this decision has no impact on the business operations of DCG and our other wholly owned subsidiaries. Right from then no one thought that was exactly true. But over a couple of weeks, there was much swirling in rumor of potential bailouts and funding rounds.

Dinesh Reveals the Effects of Musk Derangement Syndrome
"Let's turn to mister Elon Musk because he is causing the left to have a freak out. And it's a little bit interesting to think about why. Is it because, well, one thought it occurred to me yesterday and that is that Elon Musk has been really focused. He's freeing speech on the one side, but he goes, I'm really going to crack down on Twitter on pedophiles on pedophiles. And this too has freaked out the left. It's kind of interesting to see. I mean, is it because there's a substantial fraction of pedophiles in the cultural left as Elon Musk kind of nuking a wing of the left that doesn't, you know, they can't openly say, well, we're pedophiles. So what they do is they pretend I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be leaving Twitter on principle. It could be a secret reason for the leftist freak out. Here's Alyssa Milano, who, by the way, used to be a huge Elon Musk fan. I have found it fascinating. You're a couple of Milano tweets. I'm in awe of Elon Musk. And then she goes on to thanks Elon Musk and Tesla. Elon Musk you're amazing. She says that she could have dinner with four people. She picked Jesus Roberto Clemente John Lennon and Elon Musk. And then more recently, here's Alyssa Milano. I gave back my Tesla. I bought the Volkswagen. I love it. Now, what's so weird about this is first of all, she's turned on Musk. Why? Because evidently he's for free speech. That alone is enough to set her off. Number two, she buys, let's call it the Nazi car. Why? Because Vogue, if you want to talk about history, Volkswagen was started under the Nazi regime, it's in fact the word volk is a very fascist term volk means, of course, people and the Nazis who were socialists talked about the people's car, Volkswagen, the wagon of the people. So here's a list of Milana while she doesn't really know about her, but nevertheless, part of she has MDS Musk the arrangements syndrome.

Glenn Kirschner Sheds Some Light on Special Counsel Jack Smith
"So let's get to the big question. Because we've been flailing without you as you know. Ever since the appointment of Jack Smith, who apparently is not the guy in the matrix, he puts on sunglasses. I think he is. But no, it's a different guy. Different guy. Okay. But Glenn, I think it was Barbara mcquaid, I saw on TV first that said, you know, the Justice Department wouldn't be doing a special prosecutor if they weren't going to indict. If they were going to decline. So, you know, and then everyone from tally nostalgia was like, this is no Jill wine banks initially said this is a waste of time and money. And you and I have been obviously impatient for justice for a long time and my first thought is, why isn't an indictment? Why is it, you know, yet another step. But, you know, it takes me a second to calm down. But just a little. But I think we all have Mueller fatigue, right? We think, oh God, are we starting all over again, blah, blah, blah. And a lot of people have pointed out how Lawrence tribe and others that they think this will speed it up and not slow it down. Dying to get your take on it because I do get that it's different a bill Barr's not in charge, it's not Trump's Justice Department. He is not starting from scratch, but give us your whole overview on this. Yes, Steph, I wish we had an hour. There's so much to unpack. And we do have, we have superhero fatigue. We thought bob Mueller was going to come in and take Trump out. His report did take Trump out the problem is Congress and the Department of Justice didn't act on the crimes that bob Mueller documented in volume two of the Trump Russia report. We thought Merrick Garland was going to come in and do what was necessary. It turns out in hindsight, Merrick Garland turned out to be too much judge and not enough prosecutors. So I am not prepared to say Jack Smith is galloping in on the white horse and he's going to take care of all this. However, first thing I did was I talked to all my Friends and former colleagues who worked with or for Jack Smith. I don't know Jack personally, to a person, they can not speak highly enough of his determination to hold criminal politicians accountable. Without regard to politics or criticism or fear of failure, here's why I really like the appointment of Jack Smith. We can do an autopsy on whether Merrick Garland should have appointed a special counsel. There are good arguments on both sides, but I think the bottom at the bottom of it all wants Trump announced he was a candidate. Let's face it, Merrick Garland is Joe Biden's attorney general. So to have Joe Biden's attorney general going after Joe Biden's only announced political opponent in the 2024 election, I believe, left Merrick Garland, no other choice but to appoint a special counsel.

Pastor Joshua Broome Opens Up About His Past Life as a Porn Star
"Amazing. I mean, just hearing your story as a dad, just thinking, you know, young people often are just so they're so foolish, they're so naive, they're so hopeful. And the idea that that is what pulls people in these directions. This idea of something, but we're living in a culture that's so bleak that most people would say, well, what's the difference? What's the big deal? You know, a lot of people just don't. There is no line. They're not even thinking about that. So you move into this into this world. What happens? Yeah, so naively did a naively did one thinking like, okay, how bad could it be? How detrimental could it be to my life? And I thought, okay, I'm just going to walk in this room and they go to hand me a camcorder and it won't be a big deal. Yeah, I walk on to a legitimate set. Just as big or bigger than a lot of the sets that I've done, you know, some acting in mainstream acting in, you know, there's camera a camera B, camera C, there's BTS happening, or catering, you know, there's production assistance. And just pretty overwhelmed. We want to be in there. This is big money. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the evil world in which we live big money to be made in these places. And you walked right into the middle of it. Yeah, and I do that one, naively thinking, how impactful could this be on my life? But did it got a check, but felt very sleazy, very dirty, just very like, okay, that wasn't anything like I thought it was gonna be I'm never gonna do this again. You know, back then, you know, this was, you know, 15, 16 years ago, that scene went viral.

Teachers Unions and the Destruction
"Illinois, no one thought Illinois schools were shining Beacon in the education landscape, but we didn't know how truly awful. This is the generally understated Wall Street Journal editorial page. We didn't know how truly awful so many of them are. All thanks to Democrats and teachers unions. Teachers unions have more contempt for American students than any group in America. If they were a group titled, we crap on students, it would be called teachers unions. That would be if they had an honest motto. We don't give a damn about students. That's even better. Yeah, we don't give a damn about students. That would be teachers unions. Everyone knows it's true, except for the parents who keep their kids in the schools that the teachers unions control.

Rep. Kat Cammack: The White House Needs to Hire Mr. Clean
"Right One representative was talking with Harris faulkner today and mention that how bad this is how bad it looks for the Democrats Listen you and I have had many talks about fema and aid for people in need Last time it was about baby formula this time it's about hurricane Ian Your first thoughts when you heard the vice president of the United States make those comments Well good to see you Harris and honestly at this point I feel like The White House needs to hire mister clean for their spokesperson because clearly all that job entails is cleaning up the mess of the president and the vice president She needs to go back to the salad bar and rework her word salad as she has been known to do Because she is absolutely out of line to suggest that aid after this disastrous once in 5 year storm is going to be based on equity or race or socioeconomic status We are here for all Americans not just Republicans or Democrats all Americans So we're doing what good Americans do We're responding to our friends and neighbors in need And it's just disgusting that they would try to politicize this Just as they tried to do that last Friday when they sent $2 billion of fema money to the border that is ridiculous on the same day that hurricane Ian smacked my home state It's a real shame Harris Yeah She's right by the way I feel like The White House needs to hire mister clean for their spokesperson after she's saying well we should only help the people that look like me That's by the way racism I don't know why it's so hard for people to say it but it's true Clearly the vice president of the United States of America is a racist because when you look at a national disaster a tragedy and talk about the way that she talks about it right And then sits there and is like yeah we're totally fine Talking about this way This is not something that she's embarrassed by

"It's not using up a lot of power at all, and it's able to give you this kind of dimmed view of what's going on. You can see on my phone right now, I have about music playing so the notification is already on there. And the screen is locked, you see the lock in the top, left hand bar, and you see a notification icon, that notification icon shows my location services because something is using it. When I tap on the phone, it wakes it up very kind of softly, and you can see I can control my music if I wanted to play or stop something I can go to the camera, the flashlight, and that can swipe up to go into my home screen. And you can see the dynamic island, which is also the major difference on this device a lot clearer now. And I'll bring the dynamic island up to the camera a lot clearer now so you can see what's going on. It's actually comprised of two cutouts to the screen. One, the kind of pill shaped, one round, and what Apple is doing is they're filling in the pixels with black pixels to make it look like one unique space. And that is a useful space because it can show you notifications in different ways that don't take up the screen. So if a call comes in, it'll ring up there. You can control volume and stuff up there as well. There's even a company that came out with a game called hit the island, which is pretty cool and I'll demonstrate right now. It's kind of like a balls bouncing from the bottom and you get the hit the dynamic island and get points as you slide it over left and right to hit that dynamic island, which is a pretty cool feature that obviously we have over there. Now, the pro max obviously same phone, but it's bigger. It's way bigger. Now, what else is different on these devices? Well, the camera system is where this really stands out as being different. You can see in the back of the pro max here and the pro, camera systems exactly the same. And it is gigantic. Compare this side by side to what was on last year's model, the physical dimensions of the phone the same, a bit heavier on the pro max of this year, but the camera system, as I hold them side by side, a lot bigger. A lot bigger when you hold them side by side, on the new iPhone 14 pro and pro max. So what have you got on this camera system that really sets it apart? Well, we've got a 48 megapixel main camera. We've got an ultra wide camera, and a telephoto camera, we still got that LIDAR sensor, a better flash system, with 6 times optical zoom, that's a great feature. The iPhone 14 has an a 15 chip this one has the brand new a 16 chip, which is pretty cool. The other difference is here, our storage. Storage options on the regular 14 versus the actual 14 pro go all the way up to a one terabyte whopping one terabyte on this one on the pro, whereas the regular you can go one 28, two 56 5 12, not one terabyte, but the 14 pro gets that one terabyte. Also, the screen, up to 2000 nits of peak brightness on this screen on the pro and the pro max so you can view this outside. Finally, the pro is a little bit higher in height above .03 inches compared to last year's model. So great features there in terms of the camera system on board. Everything else really the same. I've got the space black color here that really deep black color. Your fingerprints are going to show on this device, which is why I'm going to keep it this one in a case at all points in time.

"We're getting through your voicemails today because lots of you are riding in with your thoughts, Peter riding in with thoughts on AE road maps and in Canada. I don't know if it's perfect. It is Z was it right? Oh, yes, it is. I do want to pick up on something. You mentioned about iCloud asking him to sign in. Oh yeah, that's right, yeah. I'm not entirely sure why that happens, but that also happened to me and it kept coming out. I kept dismissing it and dismissing it. And the other day, I thought, you know what? I'm just going to do it. So I typed in the password for my Apple ID, and then it said, I got a message on my other device saying that a new device has been added, it can now something about FaceTime and iMessage. I think I've been having a few problems with FaceTime coming through. So I don't know if it's something to do with that. I think it might be. There was a lot of issues with iOS 16 and activation for iMessage and FaceTime, so I don't know if it's been a case of they've had to reset something in order to do that. And that means you have to sign back in. Yeah, just I think you maybe have to do it. And I would suggest as Peter do it, but you tell me that you Tommy at four and off when you're not using it. I said, I guess switching it off completely. I don't know if you need to do that. And I don't know if that's helpful in any way, because the problem is every time it comes back on, you might have to go through these authentication, processes again, because it's connecting. Just leave it on, right? I mean, do we need to do that? When you type, no, of course not, but I mean, hey, however you use your phone if you're not expecting calls or messages. And why have it on? I can understand what you're saying, save the battery. But at the same time, when you type in your iCloud or Apple ID password, just leave it on for a bit. Leave it on for an hour. Let it, if it's indexing or doing whatever it's doing. Just let it go, 'cause it could be your type in and it's trying to do something and you just turn it off and then it'll ask you again and again. So when you do do that, just leave it for even 30 minutes and hopefully it will go away forever. It'll just go away forever. I'll never ask you again. Until the next time. Let's get a message in. Like I was saying earlier, you know, Kyler wins, I think the coolest name competition. I just love that name, Kyler. A lot of that. But here's another one. That's a good name. I like this. "Hey. Firstly to call him and the navigation of the bus station. You shouldn't have to be putting up with stupid things like that, Callum. One, that's about to drive away you are in relation to the exit. And I'm sure that the driver will give you a hand. As far as possible. Two, when you get to work, if that's where you're going, talk to your line manager about getting some more access to works sorted out. I had travel expenses online, so I got a taxi to and from work. Nobody should have to put up with difficult situations when they're going to work or anywhere else for that matter. Three, if you can't get travel expenses on your access to work, bring up the bus company, explain the difficulties you're having, and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. They're not usually unhelpful. They need the business. It's a bit different in Robinhood county because the good thing here is we have buses at talk to you. They tell you each stop that you come to and go by. And when you get to your desired stop, you just get off the bus and go about your business, basically. I think all towns should have this system. It would help. It even helps passengers that can see. So. On some of the buses here, there is a map as well. I'm told and you can see as you go past each bus stop. It's pretty clever. Maps. Secondly to iOS 16. I've got a strange problem here. When I turn my iPhone 12 pro on. Type in the passcode field, then it prompts me to log in to my iCloud. Firstly, I did that dutifully. I did what I had to do. And then when I finished, I turned it off because I don't leave it on all day. I don't see the point if I'm not using it. Then when I turn it on later on, I talk to my pass code and it goes from the same prompt again. I carried on swiping through and it said canceled. So I canceled working on the belief that if Apple don't want you to get in, you won't get in. So I'm carrying on like that for now. But if anybody can tell me why this is occurring, I'll be most grateful. I mean, I know I'm pretty dim, but I'm not that dim. Anyway, thanks again for all the double Tapping. I do enjoy the emails. I like the articles, but they do enjoy the emails because I like to hear what other people are being negative about or positive about. Just as an aside, did you know that the a to Z map was designed by a woman? And you can get it as an app. I think it's 5 99. For each town. Take care for now. From Peter and Robin county bye bye. Well, there you go. That was an interesting mix of information. The facts and their pizza, thank you. I don't know what to make of the design by a woman. I know it was almost a sense of dismissiveness there. It was like invented by a woman. Yeah, I mean, great. A really good point though, right? Why should we put up with that sort of, you know, we drop you off wherever from the bus station and set up just makes no sense. It really doesn't. I mean, bus stations generally, not all the time granted, but more often than not, will drop you a similar location.

"It was a single use after I had to go on it to be honest. Did you sleep well because of the bed? Yeah, wait. Or because you felt safe and secure, 'cause she is back at your mammies. I think both to be honest. Yeah. There you go. Do you sit up at being at moms, right? There's something about your mom's house. Oh, it's gorgeous. Every time I go sir, you don't need to put some weight. I'm 23 stone mother. No, no, let me make you a fry up about size of a horse. Well, this is the problem. So on the Monday, we sit down and the funeral starts at like ETA. The coverage starts to be ATM. I see coverage. I mean, coverage just started pretty much as soon as Queen Elizabeth died. And coverage began from the beginning of the student over 12 days ago. And I believe 12 days in total. That's right. But the thing is, obviously, in this country, we can have ton to morning mode, right? The whole country because it's a morning morning, or at least that's what the media would have you believe anyway. And a lot of people in the morning. Well, I'm not a morning. Hi, I'm a morning producer. But I am a morning one. Usually when I can't find any Mars bars, but no, so we get up in the morning, we start watching the coverage. And we're doing all that. And it was really, it was actually from a family point of view, just lovely to get together and just remember the queen. And we're not royalists in any way, we're not really that into the monarchy. I think for my wife, she loves the history of it all. And you just can't deny this womanhood impact. And just I think it's the scale of the impact that she had on the world, what do you think that's a good thing or a bad thing? Depends, I guess, and where you live in the world. But I just thought, I want an incredible story, one incredible life. And I think for a lot of people, for me, especially she was the monarchy. And I think now she's gone and kind of feeling a little bit like, okay, what happens next? Because she was the monarchy to a lot of people. She represented what was good about it, she represented the good side of it at least from her point of view. And the service and everything she gave to the world. So it was really interesting to watch, and it was a beautiful service. I mean, I will say one thing to the British are terrible a lot of things, but like football at general sports, but when it comes to putting on a show, we know what we're doing. It was just a moment in history, right? But yeah, I was watching it my partner and she, you know, she had a little bit of a she got choked up a few times because it was a piper. I mean, come on. Exactly what she said this morning. Yes. I mean, it doesn't matter what you feel about the monarchy.

Doug Welcomes Robert Bork, Jr. of the Antitrust Education Project
"In his mind, just joy today to have bob board junior owned, he has been a leader in this industry, not only following up on what his father, Robert bork had done, judge bork had done. Anyway, I need to start with that. And then I thought, this is getting ugly. Particularly when Joe Biden won The White House and Democrats had both houses of Congress and you saw lots of really insane legislation and the appointment of Lena Khan, who is just a Marxist, you know, put in charge of the FTC, decided we had to get in there and start fighting, so I created the antitrust education project and have been doing lots and lots of media and writing pieces in The Wall Street Journal and elsewhere to try to explain why the consumer welfare standard, which was my father's contribution to antitrust back in 1978 and has been basically the operating system for antitrust enforcement for the last 43 years, ought to be preserved against these lunatics

Daniel Horowitz: Study Shows COVID Boosters Erased Natural Immunity
"It's about not only declining efficacy of the mRNA vaccines for COVID but you had a stunning little tidbit You had charts and everything in the peace and conservative review That the vaccine in some cases or maybe some evidence that it's actually wiping out natural immunity Now Dan that's a whole different level of inefficacy We're talking about here Sure so I guess my listeners by now are probably familiar with pax lovid the size of drug that seems to cause a rebound So the more you take it the more you get the rebound the more you have to take it again It's a brilliant model Now has everyone has anyone wondered why it is that we're two and a half years into this and it's still going on I mean no one thought it would go on that long the Spanish flu didn't go on that long And what we started to notice I mean you remember some very famous people Jen Psaki and others got COVID twice even after getting the shots Now originally it was very clear the shots weren't working So we thought all right well everyone's gonna get it but by hooker by curriculum get your immunity and then it will be over with But the problem is it appears now and by the way this was a study published in the weekly Journal of Medicine So they wanted to say hey buddy you keep you keep running the risk of getting it so you have to get more boosters That was their conclusion But if you look at the charts what they were showing is that it actually erased you natural immunity

Jim Serger on Life's Pivotal, Uniting Moments
"You sense from your rotting of this book that maybe this was an interest that hopefully there'll be a remembrance because right now, you know, someone who served in Congress, someone who's been around we're divided right now and whether people want to admit it, not admit it, whatever we're divided. What about these stories? Do you think maybe could help some of the younger people who didn't have a member so that unity coming together? And also for some of us who are older to remind us of this. That's funny you should say that because I interviewed a college student. He is 20 years old. Oh, wow. And I said, what does 9 11 mean to you? He said, in the day, I was in a crib that my parents house. So I have any recollection of 2001. He said, but when I entered kindergarten, first grade second grade, I remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance, I remember saying a prayer for them, all the fallen soldiers, first responders. So in his story, it wasn't about the day, it was about what happened the years on September 11th after that that he remembers as a young man growing up. And that's funny you touch base on that because my daughter is a senior in high school. As a matter of fact, I was talking with somebody yesterday that's a little bit older than her. Maybe a little bit younger than your daughter. And she thinks that COVID was kind of like that because she remembered going to work and then all of a sudden the next day they said, don't come to work. We are shut down out of the clear blue. And she's like, what am I doing? And so she correlated that day when America's shut down to maybe this day. Is it the same? Absolutely not. But it's the same thing for them. It's something that resonates with them. So the older generation, you know, my father used to talk about Pearl Harbor from his dad. Right. And whatever my grandpa communicated to my dad is what my dad communicated to me. Right. And then Kennedy was assassinated just like you referred to. I have to hear that first thought from my dad because that was 1963. I wasn't even born yet. My dad remembers going home. They were all dismissed from the Catholic school hearing from Cincinnati. So everybody went home. And back then, you all walked, so it didn't matter if you had school buses back then. Everybody trudged through snow on November 22nd anyway. So it didn't really matter. But he remembers where it was. And then the challenger explosion that happened when I was a freshman in high school, I remember being in that moment. So everybody has those pivotal moments in their lives as Americans that unites us or makes us open up the communication airways more.

Then what's left, which is, by the way, very fair question. What's left is whatever the left is not yet touched.

David Toms Weighs Up LSU Football's Chances This Year
"LSU football and 12, no 11 days now, open Florida state. This is a tricky situation this year, I think, because we're used to having a clown as a head coach. We're used to having a guy that's always in front of the camera, doing all sorts of stuff. And it seems, for the first time since Nick Saban, that we actually have a football coach at the elm, and we're not seeing all of that extra hoopla media attention and all that. What do you think about Brian Kelly? What do you think about baby setting or align at 6 and a half games? Well, I mean, my first thought is, you know, woodwards of a friend of mine and he said to me, the biggest thing about Brian Kelly is now I do not have to babysit my football coach. And he goes, I needed a professional in there and run the program like we wanted all to be run as Tiger fans. And that's the bottom line is that, you know, the guys is a professional. You can tell by his media awareness and the way he runs the program, the way he's kind of cleaned up things. It's not like a good old boy network anymore and I look for him to do really well. I think as far as the odds go and what Vegas says, I think that they're a little bit out of touch with our improved roster.

Harnessing the Electricity Within to Achieve Your Purpose
"I want to go back one thing because you just use a term I've not heard before. Which is use your own electricity. And so just I want to just, what does that mean to you? Because people say energy, I think a lot of people have heard the term energy before they're like, look, I just don't get it, you know? But electricity, I don't think most people look at themselves as electric. And they are. And it's almost like you use the example of a light everyone. God bless you. If you really are an electrical being, it's so sad to dim your light over time. I like that. Me too. And just reading your work, you've reduced your electrical charge and the axed external evidence of that is the lights dimming in your life. The cool part is that at any given time, you can start to take control and charge of your electricity. I just like that term better than energy. So are we electric actually as human beings and maybe like one thought or concept about how one begins to up their amp level, so to speak. So Bruce Lipton, who you probably are familiar with biology belief. He's the one that I got the data from on each cell has a certain charge and we've got I can't even remember since I wrote it, but we have billions or trillions of cells in our bodies. So yeah, we got a lot of electricity. We could light up a city if we used it, effectively. I really love what you just said though. 'cause I've never thought of it like someone dimming their light because I think that really is what's happening or what's happened to a lot of people. It's not like they don't have the charge available, but they've got it on the dimmer, right? And they're just so used to having it dimmed out that they think that's all there is. You and I, the reason we do this and I've been doing this a long time and don't necessarily have to do it anymore. But I really feel like my purpose and I know your purpose is to help people understand they can do so much more. And it's not about doing more. It's about really expressing themselves and living their purpose and do the work that they came here to do. And I think a lot of people have lost sight of that or they're not even clear what that is.

"And i don't understand why because there are some shows on cbs. That i would that. I used to watch that i was like. Oh maybe i'll come back and watch it. Sounds like but. I can't save them so there is still something going on with the adding on showtime. Because i was the other thing i was i was interested in was when you had. Cbs l. access. You could add showtime to your subscription for a nominal up charge per month and there are a lot of shows. I used to actually be a showtime subscriber. When i subscribe to cable and there was a lot of shows. I liked watching on showtime. So i thought oh okay. We'll i'll get showtime and added on. Can't do that yet. I don't know when it's hanging to happen. But you can't do that when i was actually subscribing to. Cbs all access the day prior to paramount plus launching. I looked at some different. Faq's and some comments online and things like that talking about how to add showtime to your bundle and it can give you the option. There was no option everywhere at told you to go. It literally just showed you a spots. That was blank. Everything was telling you what to click on. Wasn't there anymore. Because i don't know when that's going to happen. Because i was looking forward to potentially adding showtime to this and then having the content from showtime which would watch on a regular basis. But it's not there yet. So i'm not sure exactly what's going on with that when you get to the content side boys there. There's not a lot there to be honest. I mean there's a lot of content in general but it seems to be at the same level as peacock when it launched there are some original content that reported over obviously from cbs. All access there's content. There's movies that weren't there that are part of the paramount library and things like that but overall not a ton of content. The thing that's really annoying is that there are lots of shows that when you click on the show it shows you the episodes that are available and there are like weird groups of seasons and there's weird groups of episodes that are available and not available and obviously i understand that some of that content is licensed elsewhere. But i think that's the biggest problem when it comes to sue paramount pluses and while they have been touting that they're all about making sure that they can still licensed content think. The biggest problem is the things that they have. That people would probably. Actually you know go after to watch are already somewhere else. And that's the biggest problem. I mean unless you are specifically looking at watching current episodes of content that design. Cvs as a way to watch it without. You know the commercials because you're watching live or you don't have an on demand option or anything like that. Then the services great for you and the price is great..

"Streaming services Nba has a lot of revenue. Mlb a just. There's a lot of factors go in here and all the second order consequences that i feel it could be easily missed if you don't like flush them out so it all this is a big bet and i hope it works for all sides all right so then with that we're gonna move straight into our main topic of discussion. Which is the launch paramount plus now paramount plus launched last week. I ended up having well. There's a question. I have not had the time you subscribe to plus and check it out so i'm going to be going to be the person who knows nothing about the service and how it interacts dustin. How'd you like it did was there enough. Content was the app easy to use. What are your thoughts as somebody who never used. Cbs all access. I can't compare the two. Because i was never a. Cbs all exits subscriber specifically. I looked at this as well. They have some content. That's unique and interesting. There was content over the years it had released on. Cbs alexis that obviously supporting over to paramount. Plus then i was like. Oh maybe now's the time to to check it out. But the other thing that kind of enticed me was the fact that they had an offer where it was fifty percent off a year's subscription if you paid upfront for the first year. So i was looking at paramount plus specifically to serve a couple of different things one. I like the idea of having live news. Because i don't have live news on any of the services that i have outside of peacock. I'm not a huge fan of what peacock has as far as news. Cbs tends be more neutral when they talk about the political stuff and things like that. So i was like okay. This'll give me another option of news. Outside of just having the stuff from msnbc laura nbc. News so i was. I was one. I don't watch a lot of sports. So i didn't really care about the sports..

"Sometimes they might be on another channel but that's like super it's very rare so them getting the exclusive rights to a game is pretty big because then that forces the football fans. Nfl fans if they like this team more football just on thursday night when the week's been stressful and you just want to chill out and just watch something that's the that doesn't really have apply to really pay attention. It forces people to check out amazon. Prime so i think the exclusively part of this contract is i think it's genius. Think it's a great way to get people subscribing to prime and the prime ecosystem and keep involved in it's a whole new It's just a new class of a subscribers. I wonder we could see you know this this idea of the exclusivity part of like taking something that is on a on a linear tv in only be exclusive on a streaming service from see that trend by other companies. But i think that this is a bold new bama's on. They have the cash to spin on sports rights. Sports streaming rights. They're just really expensive in general so they have the cash. This is a bold move him. I think it's i think it's a slam dunk move. What are your thoughts. Yeah it for for the growth of amazon. I think it's important. It's interesting because obviously amazon has the the money to do. Basically whatever they want when it comes to streaming but we've always been told when executives from amazon talk about Streaming is that. It's a way to get customers to subscribe to him some prime to utilize amazon prime and then obviously use their platform to buy products. That's what they've always said. But it seems as if this actually goes through this would be probably know the it would be the biggest position to get prime to really get into to really be used by a lot more people. I mean to be fair. They've got some good shows. They have some good movies but they're not very regular as far as how often they released those things yes..

"It's really gonna more people would be more apt to that and not just because there's ads. People aren't apt to ads but people are apt to service a much pushback. Something on what she said about. You know calar saying it's good. That evolved services are there because then they can have cheaper alternatives for people different countries I wanna push back a little bit because if you look at net flicks like yes. They have a. It's not the highest dreaming. It's not the highest price for subscription. But it's you know. I think number one number two or three in terms of price especially in the united states but in other markets they. It's not like a one to one correlation with us price to the price of in their markets so like the euro send a one to one correlation adjusting for currency inflation. All that stuff so markets it's it's vastly different and so i think india it's like what three bucks or something i. It's it's difficult to get factor till that but it's substantially lower than. What is the united states. And so if hbo really really wanted to push themselves it can lower the price into other markets because you know in some areas trying to reach So many people. There's so many devices there's so many different opportunities so that you can bring down your price a little bit. You can recoup that with volume in. So that's why to push back a little bit on avon. It's not the end up. Y'all solution for them to grow in the future on there's plenty of streaming services that do not have a fight that a proven successful. I mean the two leading ones united states. are you know netflixing disney plus and they don't have ads so the main thing for their growth isn't gonna be avon. It's going to be its contents going to be on. Its ease of use in a bunch of other things. So that's i think that's one thing so yeah there's there's one thing i just wanna push back on but another thing that i found interesting about this article in its at the very bottom. It's carb drops like one or two sentences about cnn in he you know he's he's excited about the opportunity with cnn. Talks rumors reports everyone to describe it. That warnermedia's looking to spin up Stena loans seen in subscription service..

"I think there is a better integration with like having a device level profile on google because google also youtube in you can have a better integration there of okay like this is the kid's profile can only show like kids related to content and was a little bit more clear and obvious but look at devices. In general there are no device level type profiles that happen yes you have a permissions due to like okay are wearing download like certain content ranges. Are we going to allow apps that have like explicit content or something like that right usually the the restrictions on content fall to the services themselves so like Disney plus my daughter has her own profile. Just so that you know tailored to all kids content related. She doesn't shouldn't have access to watching like more action shows. It's just more fits her age Same thing with amazon basically any other streaming services that has you know profiles and would be nice to see like on a device of okay. This is a kids profile and then every streaming service just will get that information automatically sign in the app that that current way. I think that would help especially parents as they move forward of trying to remember. Okays sign into the service to anita. Make sure to start something that i'm in the right profile. Kids are kids and they're smart and they figured technology and all of a sudden they're going to open up their favorite app and it's all going to play something they're not supposed to Just because they are A very curious people so overall i like the idea of the device level profile because he can have like even like device level the profile level like apps. Silly this one person might just like these few apps the other person. I like these other few apps. I don't know more think about. It's actually kind of an interesting idea you even as an advertising perspective you can cuomo almost personalized the devices themselves and you know script information because each person has a different profile. I'm getting a little bit away. The conversation here but i think it will. Tv taking a device level profile idea is i can see the having some benefit. I'm curious to see if this bet for them. Works and if it does arena seelig roku in other device providers kind of a similar idea there and just piggybacking off some use. The one thing that i'm hoping for is that there is a way to figure out how to integrate the profiles that google's doing device specific to profile specific on the streaming services themselves. You know obviously. Because i've got a kids profile on netflix. For my kids. I want them to be able to access that. I don't want them be able to access all of netflix's by accidentally clicking on their their profile but somebody else's profile. I don't want them going. Hbo max click on their profile but they could click on another profile and the thing is there is parental controls as far as once. You're into the profile. You know you can't get out of. Hbo max is kids profiles without a pin. If you if you put that in place the issue of course you have to be there first. And that's the thing. And how many times have we just been randomly logged out of something number one. We're using them when we log in it logs into the default account and you have to switch profiles from there so and plus disney plus you just log in brings up the screen of all the profiles and i've no clue that my kid is gonna recognize okay which icon is hers..

"The latest episode of the streaming wars doesn't with me and we're here to cover everything from march third through the night. We have a couple of different service. Updates we've got some more sports news and our main discussion is going to be paramount. Plus as it launched last week actually the same day that our latest episode released. But we're gonna talk about that in a little bit other things related paramount plus so that. Let's start off service updates. So the first thing i want to talk about is google tv with chromecast is is adding kids profiles this month in the us. Now the specific focus of the articles out there was that google is adding the ability to create kid profiles so you could use the device for your children and control the content that they have the ability to watch it also allows them to have customizable youtube suggestions and things like that which obviously helps you tubes algorithm and google as a company as a whole but i think most importantly what i found really unique about this is that it sets the device a little bit different from some of the other devices that are out there. Obviously amazon has the ability to have kids. Profiles roku does not have profiles and i think outside of even the kids element. I think this is a really interesting idea. Because having the ability let's let's be honest most households that are going to have a streaming device in general. Not may i would say most of us are going to have at least more than one person in the in the household. And if that's the case there's a good chance that you watch different types of content and i say this because most people are already using streaming services and have multiple profiles on each streaming service specifically tied to the content that that specific person watches. I have a profile watch specific content. My wife has a different one. My kids use a different one. Every one of us watch different things. I don't want to get suggestions for stuff that my kids are watching. I don't want to necessarily see recommendations on the same stuff. My wife likes to watch without me. That's not the kind of content that i want and it's really good for the algorithms for not just the streaming services and obviously this new thing with google to suggest content that we wanna watch specifically to get us to watch content. Either it's on youtube and there's an ad presented whether it's on an ad supported service that is going to play ads and that content is going to know help that company earn money or whatever. That's the whole reason why profiles exists so it surprising one that google is doing this surprising in the sense of that. It hadn't happened sooner. I'll just say that. But i think this is really smart to do for not just the kids aspect but the adult aspect. Yeah this is really surprising. Dealing other has a you know. Device level profile is are the amazon fire devices. my daughter has amazon fire tablet. And we the kids mode enabled so basically she has her own special operating system that has games and a bunch of weird content. That she likes. I know exactly what it is. But she it so That's the only type of device lovell profiles that i really have seen. I think this is an interesting concept..

"You know, I'm fine for so I'll live lives with his best. I can. Um I was calling to tell you guys, I agree with Gina 100%. It's almost like the stereotypes been given. I fly the flag in my house and stuff. But I wonder how many people actually think that maybe I'm a trump supporters something because of how everybody's fit behind the American flag show their hate And it's zee understand, actually with her because it's like when you're you see it. Your first thought is, I wonder if that's a trump supporter, especially when it's on the vehicle or something like that. You like. Don't just put a sign out. But the fact is, you know I love my country. I love my flag and the people are represented, but some people have made it. Look Actually, and it's it's terrible. That's exactly how I feel. If it's just if people are just displaying the American flag, I don't make any assumptions about them and less there. Displaying the American flag and then using it the beat people with at the Capitol or unless they're planning on reporting form or unless their truck flying it with a trump flag or something like that, or they have an American flag in their work. But if it if somebody just has an American flag or therefore, you know they have it on their house or their flying even if they're flying it from their truck. If that's the only thing Then I I I don't believe that if you see some guy in a truck driving down the street, and there's a big American flag flying out the back, you can't tell me you don't assume that that's a drunk first. He's on his way to the he's on his way to the trump flag store so he can have a matching set. I can tell you that because because I have no other evidence. If I have other evidence, then I'll start making making some assumptions. But just if somebody's displaying the American flag just just seeing you wearing that U S A hat. I would think Gina. There's Ah, There's a lovely woman who's really misguided. Probably a trump supporter. Waking back is a good thing. We need to get everybody flying the flag and put something like love underneath it. There's something that Yeah, well, hey, I would remind you of the sixties. And there were plenty of hippies with American flags and American flag shirts and American flag hats and American flag clothing. And everybody said those filthy hippies. They're desecrating the flag. So and then turn about So I would assume you know that you're a filthy hippie. No, desecrating the flag. Right, darling? It's all right. We'll talk later. Thanks. All right, we'll take it.
