"With her relationships and the way she prioritizes things which you know not to say she wasn't a good sister before but like there clearly was a direct at her. I know generosity of kindness or spirit or her priorities and i. I had don't know if i had heard that explained in that way. No i hadn't either and it was really interesting. The way the khloe said it in unexplained it. And i wonder if that's something that kim was really consciously aware of or if it kind of just happened as a result of the trauma and hearing khloe say it was like. Wow that that did happen. I have to imagine that it was a total product. I really do because anytime we've spoken about it. We've talked about it. From a material aspect you know the way in which she flaunted stories the level of security the may be how she does prioritize having kind things i never thought that that manifested itself into her relationships with the people around her. And how clearly how. Much her focus on the other. Things is actually taking away even unknowingly from the strength of of those connections. Exactly that's what it was. It was that. I didn't think that i knew her. Priorities had shifted after the robbery. I never thought that the way she prioritized material things was impacting. Her relationships are impacting. Her other priorities. I thought it was just like that. One then got lowered. I didn't realize that like one getting lowered met. The other got raised totally. I thought that they were happily coexisting. And if anything appoint of just being made fun of not necessarily point of like a blockage but it probably was a unacknowledged our subconscious blockage. They didn't think that that she was a bad sister and now that she was they probably just didn't realize this other world that it would open. Yeah definitely and you know this kind of ends with a few things. One andy asking khloe about if she feels like she shared a lot more for personal life. Than courtney kendall and kylie and chris and she just makes that point valid her and kim have spoken about this and that it's one thing if the rest of them don't have things going on in their lives and the focus on one but it's more so and she brings the example of corny. Like when courtney had this boyfriend and they weren't even allowed to mention it like that felt on fair. I really i understood that yes. I totally understood that. 'cause i always think that was weird. It's like we're literally seeing pictures of them. She's post them. There's paparazzi pictures any wearing yet. He's not even mentioned on the show. One single time definitely not by name. That was always weird to me riley. You're still on the show you still signed up for this At a certain point. I know i think him not being on. The show is totally fair but the fact that they weren't allowed to bring it up just feels. I feel like if i were them. I would have very much understood that frustration. I have to say what i thought was really interesting. Move off from this topic. But andy says to her like. Do you think that your relationship with scott could have turned out differently if you didn't share so much on tv. And she goes probably and then says like of course. Everything happens for a reason. It's what it's meant to be. That was never my impression of their relationship. Same ever i actually didn't even for a moment think that sh- i'll put it like this. I didn't even firm moment think that she would have that. Interpretation of it me are and i can understand where it's like okay. Maybe our relationship didn't work out because of the fame element whereas like scott was getting simultaneously. More famous as our relationship was kind of had its fall in there for let him two more opportunities in war behaviors. That courtney didn't approve of and that didn't feel safe within and wasn't right. Look all of those things i understand. Being a byproduct of fame. I never once felt like outside opinions of their relationship or the stress of being in the public. I had really anything to do with their downfall because you could so clearly seed what it was outside of it and it was so much bigger than like people having opinions of what they think of you like. So much of it was scott's behavior that really had nothing to do with really like together. I don't like you together. I feel this way about your relationship. Yeah well do you think that's her real answer I think that it is a way of her simplifying very complex situation. Yeah exactly that's how i feel. I don't know if it's i i'll put it like this. I don't even know if it's worth so much analyzing her response. Because i don't know if her response was that well thought out if somebody actually challenged sure on that a little bit more. I don't know she would have stuck with that. I think like oversimplifying. It is probably the best thing for her like mental sanity right now right whereas that be the worst thing for scott here is the separation of what happened right. You know the few last things. One andy asking you about the idea of these kind of like rumors in the way that they would do it as they would send things to certain people in the group see who the rat was and kim says at. That was the case with north. But she didn't make the clear enough to know who let it out. How do you screw that up. I don't know if you're going to go to that length. Of course i'm sitting here like marsa obviously was fucking larisa. I loved the corey conversation. Yes me too. It was so funny. Also when chris is talking about how she feels like it was really meant to be and the way they met. Was you know. She was with kim in spain for twenty four hours and they happen to me than they happen to have all of these mutual friends. It was just bait and kendall city. Initially i was i was with you guys like i was in spain to and noting knowledge. Her and she's like no. It's whatever don't worry about it. I know that was really funny. Yeah when she said six years which. I obviously knew but i was like shit and she thinks i mean the way that she was talking. It's like they're in it for the long haul. Oh definitely are. I would be shocked if she presented that any other way. Yeah and then we kind of end off on a cliffhanger with asking about caitlyn's transition and if she thinks they would split up if it wasn't for the transition and she says she does think so and only other insight we get onto this before the next episode is when he said. Did you know at that time. The caitlyn plans a transition and she says no question of whether or not they would have split up had it not been for. The transition is such a complicated question because it just seems like if caitlyn didn't transition like as that sole thing would that be the reason that you guys split up. There's also the whole element of like because of the stress that caitlin was under. And you know that the hatred that she of felt the anger and taking that out on chris. There was that huge element of that as well. Where it's like. It really created a very hostile environment for everybody because there was just so much anger and hatred in until caitlyn transition. Chris didn't really understand where that was coming from. So i guess if you take out the transition element like if you're asked the question of like if kaitlyn never transitioned in also didn't have those desires are didn't want to do that. I didn't feel like that's who she was. Would you guys have divorced. Because that's an entirely different question than what andy asked. Yes i mean that plays directly into the over simplification point that we were talking about earlier. It's it actually.

"It was clear to vancouver police that rocky rambo way nam cam had no interest in helping them close this case quickly and cleanly several key pieces of evidence pointed right at rocky the dna match found on the baseball cap. Under diana's fingernails and on the hinge of rockies glasses placed him at the scene the lab determined. There was only a one in six hundred thirty quinton chance that the unknown male dna belonged to someone else. There's a higher probability you'll be struck by lightning by a lot. In fact the probability that you'll be struck by lightning one single time in your life is one in fifteen thousand three hundred. That's horrifying the canadian. Justice system likely thought they had a one in six hundred and thirty million chance that rocky. Rambo would decide to confess to his crimes. It just seemed futile after nine. Long hours with officer leah. Once a suspect has a chance to speak to a lawyer. it's pretty much game over. We know by now that lawyers prefer their clients not to default anything whatsoever rocky. Took that advice. That was until his defense attorneys decided to hire a psychologist to aid in the formation of a defence strategy. My name is dr at with sheng. Dr hsien is a clinical psychologist registered in british colombia. I hold a private practice in vancouver in my practice. I do see children full assessment purposes but adults. I mainly perform psychological therapy. So mainly i look at the client's experience in his Early childhood or early childhood. And how the may have affected the way. The client conducts himself today. When rocky rambo's defense team reached out to dr schenn for the psychological evaluation of their client. He approached the task as he does with any other client. There is after all a difference between psychology and forensic psychology. I was approached by the defense counsel of mr ken to make a few visits to him. Because at the time he had already been reminded in the pre-trial center for close to two years. Just with the purpose of understanding how this money works are many kinds of psychologists and the group that who are specifically trained to work with. The legal system is known as forensic psychology. I happened to be not trading forensic psychology. I'm trained as a clinical psychologist and my mission is to work with people who afflicted with mental illness emotional issues or even physically shoes up but not strictly for the call purpose like dr schenn mentioned rocky had been sitting in custody of law enforcement for two years awaiting trial at this point with no confession and a definite trial on the horizon. The crown was hoping to lock rocky away for first degree murder for a long time or as long as candidate feels is fair. Which i mean. It's canada rocky. Rambo had no connection to these people. He lived in the same neighborhood as they did but didn't know them. He had no reason to kill them so by all accounts. This guy was a major danger to society if he could snap at any moment and kill another human being and such a methodical gruesome away. What's to stop them from snapping again if he doesn't know his own triggers or doesn't care when he'd be a ticking time bomb if left to freely roam with the public regardless rockies defense team hoped that this psychological evaluation reveals some sort of strategy for the trial they gave me a very brief overview of what Mistake cam dead. But the both of the council deny preferred to make it that way. Because i don't want to be biased. By what the council at already fouled about mr camp. I was kind of led to believe that i would not be asked to testify. I've always been very careful with this issue. I have had a few experiences in the past that half the performing therapy with a client foale months and then i realized that it turned out to be the case and then i was as to provide a evidence for my clients. Now that i. I try to turn those cases down because i did not function with with the understanding or the preparedness to do provide forensic evidence so that way to go about. It would have been different if i had known from the beginning what my findings would be would be used. Of course. dr schenn ended up testifying at rockies trial. He had successfully uncovered something about rocky during his evaluation. That the defense took and ran. Width defense counsel glenn. Morris told court cam suffered from a mental disorder at the time of the killings. He thought he was in a video game and within the game he attacked and killed the couple. Of course the first thing that i need to ask myself is is mr cam suffering from a mental illness. Was he out of touch with reality. Even during the first interview. I came to the conclusion that he wasn't out of touch with reality. Meaning that he wasn't suffering from any falmouth psychotic illness but given that it makes it even harder to understand why he did what he did. And the rest of the time in our meetings was mainly devoted to trying to make sense of his behavior. Defense says can has no prior history of violence. I believe the evidence will show no motive no prior connection between cam and the victims. He's unable to explain why he did. These acts there does not appear to be logical explanations for what he did in the house outside of a game just recently. We've been seeing more and more advanced tech and gaming the kind of technology we were hoping for twenty years ago when we were busy blowing air into our nintendo sixty four cartridges things like advanced artificial intelligence image recognition and the introduction of virtual reality which is pretty scarily realistic. These days have already begun to change the way. Kids grow up rocky. Rambo wasn't playing any crazy. Virtual reality games back in two thousand seventeen though his vice was a game called sky rim. I wanna pay games but not massage harsh. No we don't have a lot of video the instructions that's trutv cams case. He acknowledged that he had been spending a lot of time playing video games since.

And i'm going to dance to so it's a worker in progress but that that's a good one. Yeah yeah that's perfect. I can only imagine the look on your husband's face when you're a very public area doing it but that's great. The more people seeing dancing the better. How about weird talents. What's talent that you have you know. I realized that. I am really good at games the first time i see them like what kind of games any type of games card games board games yasser like the first time i play something. I almost always win. But then it wears off the like the more a play. The less that affect is there when i was in high school and Like i lived in russia. I didn't exchange here in california so there was this time. One a played a very weird card game with my friend and his family does game in their family like they play generations over generations and it was the first time i learned that game. My friend's dad. Basically saying he always swan. And so i just learned this game and he's been playing all his life and then one and that made him so mad stuff like that happens all the time and it's kind of very cool but i by now that it's just like that first few maybe like one single time. The first time they played or first couple times i played it. I usually stop after that. Because now i know i'm going to win the first few times and then i might not so i just remove myself from the game. You have beginner's luck. Yes i guess could not resist there. This change with policing in Denver needs to happen in every city in America
"The past six months the city of denver colorado has been running a brilliant pilot program to replace police when nine one one is called for at least seven different reasons that are connected to homelessness and substance abuse and poverty program is called star s. t. a. r. is stands for support team assisted response and it was inspired by one of my favorite programs in the entire country. We've talked about it. Multiple times here on the podcast cahoots and cahoots. Is the emergency response program. It has been around now for a generation in eugene oregon and the who's program now handles over twenty percent of eugene organs. Nine one one calls instead of police and it saves lives in eugene and it actually saves the city millions of dollars in the process and the big question about what the who's program does in oregon has always been whether or not it was going to work in a major american city like denver and the star program has answered that with a resounding yes and they just issued their six months report. And if you go to my facebook page if you go to the north star dot com. I've shared that report there. And if you're feeling nerdier walkie you can really get into the details but let me break down for you. The star program in denver decided to spend six months answering seven types of nine one one calls in four targeted areas of denver. Even those choices that they made were super smart. They chose one entire policing district so that they could have data on what would happen when they took over a large geographic area and then they chose three smaller police precincts which really represents smaller geographical areas but would give them some really actionable data to work with and of the seven hundred and forty eight calls that the star program actually answered that they took during their first six months. Listen not one. Single person was ever arrested and the denver police department was never even called one single time for backup. Nobody was killed by police. Nobody was sent to jail. Nobody was given a ticket. Nobody was given a criminal record and lives. were saved. and it's amazing two hundred and thirteen times. The star team responded to calls where people thought they saw someone strange in the area and as you may know those calls are actually sometimes forms of racial profiling or what i like to call poverty policing where someone poor or homeless is simply existing or walking and it gets on the nerves of more privileged people particularly privileged white people a hundred and forty five times. The star team responded to people in need who just wanted someone to check on a loved one ninety four times. They responded to someone who needed assistance in their home. Sometimes it was because of a mental or physical health challenge. Forty eight times. Listen to this. They responded with love and compassion to people considering suicide and none of those people committed suicide as you may know. Often one one is called during a suicide attempt. Police show up in kill. Those folk star team was able to talk each of those people through

"Off yet. Yes they did so it was turned off in like two thirds of the pipeline and then the other thirds it was turned on but it was muted. so it didn't matter is like one hundred critical would never bring you build an all way into a folder that no one had ever locked into one single time. Mike you two thousand dollars for this tool per year. I didn't cost him. You like thirty k. As as a part time consultant you. You're getting steel to save two hundred thousand dollars. And then i'm like let's find a better way because the tools a good tool but the way we're using it isn't working so let's do away where it works for the depths. 'cause they're telling you this shit doesn't work for me. That's what they're telling you when they do that. They're not like securities law important to me. They're not like. I hate those people. Security team with they're doing is saying i have a deadline. This is the deadline. I have to get there. I would love my app to be secure but you providing gondola goop in some other folder. Its way away from my bug tracker that. I don't even remember how get to. I all know any of the results mean most of its false positives. I have worked to tiny. Stop wasting my time. And so it's like about working with the taos and working with ops and understanding how we can help them do their job securely like enable them and sometimes that means buying a different tool or doing things a different way and sometimes it means not ping stuff in the pipeline. Because no one appreciates you adding an hour. Unless you're adding an hour's worth value like if the pipelines nine minutes in you're adding an hour wow you bear gold-plating that up what's the answer there because like you said if we're doing devops the ultimate goal there is to quicken that feedback loop get it into an environment. Make sure that it works. And and get people testing it. And putting their eyes on and putting their mouse clicks through the application and verifying the features that we're delivering work as expected we also want to ensure security but like you said we don't want to add an hour to our pipeline just to get that turnaround is the solution and additional pipeline is doing more collaborative work with the security professionals and getting them involved from from that early conversation. Before you even start thinking about pipelines in deployments science so many answers for you so first of all. I believe in adding security requirements to every project like if there's a web app there's certain things i know that i want you to do if you're doing a file upload. I know that there's extra things i want you to do. It's cetera so if you start with some requirements in your like listen if you want to go play on the internet you need to be tall to ride this ride and that requires like let's say. Https senate requires you know all these things so then you're already seeing some standards also believe in giving them secure code guidelines or requirements or training..
The Book of Genesis: Looking At The Book Of Beginnings
"Is the book of genesis. Well it's the book beginnings and so it's telling us what happened at the beginning of the story that is going to form the entire arc of the biblical story. But it's important to remember that it's not just telling us what happened in the beginning. It's telling us what god did in the beginning and so it keeps god as the central figure of all of the action and that can actually as we head into this Season that lovey. Who wanna keep top of mind because we start to talk about whereas in the first eleven chapters. We talked about four events Creation fall flood and babble now in the second half of the book which is actually much longer than the first half. We're gonna talk about four. People abraham isaac jacob and joseph. I'm so mad at you right now in this present moment because when you say stuff like that it makes me. Did you have that going into next. Because i have been preparing episode run sheets and not one single time. Have you said we'll call. You know the first eleven chapters are really four events and the next forty eight chapters or thirty eight chapters for people because that would have been a great line from somebody else. I mean come on. It's not like i sit around at night map in this stuff out. Yeah and i'm never up to snuff so it asked the story. Arc moves toward a description of people. We do want to bear in mind that the central figure is still going to be y'all way and how he's acting in the earliest recorded Stories of human history for us so But but again it's a book beginnings meaning that all of the and i think we said last season. The genesis is often referred to succeed. Pot of the bible is where all of those themes wanna see go. All the way through to revelation are being set up for us. So that's what we spent a long time last season and we'll do this season doing is looking for what are those. What are the threads in. How can we begin to see them with greater ease and regularity as we move into the rest of the scriptures us great so okay so genesis book of beginnings first eleven chapters four people. Next section. Twelve through fifty is for events but jt. Why would why would. Why would we spend all this time studying. Yeah i did just get it backwards. And i said it backwards. Genesis eleven four events genesis. Twelve fifty four people in residual. Okay so jt. Why would we spend a whole season studying genesis. I mean like why not. Just get to the good stuff in the new testament and just roll. Yeah so. I mean. One of the things that i i think. The lord's really teaching me right. Now that i'm trying to learn in my ability to be a bible reader and a bible teacher is to see how really the whole story of scripture is in those first three chapters. It's also in those first eleven chapters that we did last semester. It's then it's in the next fifty minutes in the pentateuch. The first five books of the bible that really when you look at genesis to revelation the whole story of scripture which we think forms hold disciples wanted list hopes in this podcast. Is that you just know. The story of the bible may be able to participate in be participants in the story. And you can't. You can't participate in the store. You don't know is that they would see they would see that. The story of the bible really finds its seed form all of its hyper links through the rest of scripture. Here in the book of genesis genesis. I don't want to say that there's any book that's not foundational. We love all sixty six. The bible not including third corinthians kyle but all six bucks at arrival We we need to know. We need to love. Because god has put treasures there for us. But i i i do wanna say this carefully. Genesis is one of those primary pillar books that you don't get it right. It's going to be hard to get the rest of the story right. Yeah i think what you're saying. Jt makes sense. And i think one of the interesting things is when you read. Genesis is with somebody that you're playing and maybe you've also read a gospel or you're helping them read through the gospels. At the same time you start to realize that a lot of the the themes or the The images of the pictures or the the concepts of the theology. That's in genesis. And a really pronounced way is deliberately being communicated in the gospels and that those connections sometimes are really on the

Thanks conor could you tell the listeners. A bit about yourself and philipson on where your knowledge on security service edge comes from. Yeah sure sure so So i I worked at cisco three different stints. I've worked. vm-ware also vip tele St wind pioneer and then through of had various different held various different roles Tech support seo sales engineer systems engineer t emmy product manager technology alliance partnerships running partnerships and for the coach. Just over the past year. I've been an independent consultant. I focus on. Sdn and cloud security and network management strategy then that role. I kind of talked various. Different contacts. That i've made the is These various different companies and try and keep on top of old various trends yet your focus on sdn networking security. That all seems to tie pretty well together to make what most people define sassy Speaking speaking of how people define sassy garner defined the technology in twenty nineteen but that definition sort of existed in vacuum. How would you define sassy. Yeah shaw so i think you know. It's it's really primarily two key components one is the security Sort of cloud based security portion and then the other is the actual enforcement portion so a use. Cpa portion so that cloud security portion. I think you know that there's been a lot of sort of disparite Solutions on the security side so like firewall cosby sake And then also you've got ips ideas malware and so long. And you know as as scott. I think correctly sort of defined it You know there's this increasing the more scalable lying rate Security rather than having point products and doing service chaining Just sort of being able to inspect the traffic one single time and also I think having sort of it's it's in a way. It's like applying the principles of st one and two to sassy a to security so meaning that you kind of consolidate your and unify your your policy engine. You'll management in the cloud and then the enforcement in a similar way similar to the sdn model..

Full Self-Driving Limited Beta Released
"Everybody Robin our here today even though we are less than a day out from Tesla's q earnings report, we already have news up staging mills results Tesla has started to a very limited way roll out the full self-driving rewrite Beta, and we are already starting to see some videos from that Beta pop up online. So today's episode is going to be focused on that because this is game changing technology that we're seeing happen right now. So I've put together a compilation of those videos. These have been shared on twitter by Tesla owner, Silicon Valley and Brandini nine, one six and raising them with their permission. So let's check out these clips and then analyze a bit as we go through. Our had. So the first thing that we notice as the car autonomously approaches this intersection here is just the new user interface. So this is not the final version. It'll be cleaned up a lot when this actually is sort of wide release ready I'm sure. But the first thing that sticks out just the amount of detail that's being captured here just from Tesla's vision system. It's using the cameras to put this entire scene together without hd maps. So here we go through the intersection and Thomas left hand turn. And, it's able to complete it. So this is one of the main missing features right now, and it is here in the Beta on surprisingly. But great to see that it's accessible handles turn. Though, in this case, it did have a lead vehicle I'm sure we'll see some other ones here in a second without that lead vehicle. So again, zooming in on the you, I hear you can just see the massive amount of detail that's being generated again from the vision system in the Tesla it seeing across the road at a t intersection here. Mapping the basically the outlines segments of the entire road using the dividing lines here, and then the lanes that are available for the tussle to switch ends you. which you can see in this case, it's navigating over into the left lane. Giving that update that now occurs now stopping for traffic light and fifty feet, and again we're GONNA see another left hand turn here. Once that turns green, which does he can see a turn green there on the UI. Maybe a little bit of hesitation there tough to tell but in this case, no lead vehicle. And it does manage to make. That left turn. And again, you can see the interpretation of the road here. And this is all happening at night right now. Obviously, the Beta just came out. So all the videos are from night driving so far, and you can still see even with. without the benefit of daylight tussle is still able to. Get a really good representation seemingly although we can't really tell outside the vehicle obviously but of the of the entire seems to be up Senate here. Rats I'M GONNA pause on this one as we head into it. As you can see, this is around out I. Wasn't sure if this would make it into the limited Beta release here but it seems to you and this you know it's tough to think of other features that wouldn't be here if we've got the roundabout in this in this version so you can see again with just the vision system here not using HD maps or anything like that Tesla's recognizing that this is around about intersection it's mapping out the roundabout here in the same color that you would normally see the lane lands that you are not supposed obviously cross. So really cool to see that. Let's watch it travel through here. Again, this one's from Brandini nine, one six. So yielding there it seems. Navigates through there. So, pretty cool. Brandini did say that for that one he did take over manual control at the end but I believe he said that was because his passenger was a little bit a word about itsel he said it would have handled it fine. So exciting see the roundabout here is another video again, a little bit more high resolution. This time we can see again the scene, the lead car here being mapped with green box versus some of those purple or red boxes that we've seen on other vehicles. Indicating that, it's you know traveling in the same direction. Looks like he changed his following distance, they're a bit. CNC. Vehicles off to the side appearing in yellow or red. Even as far out as as over there. In oncoming you know cross lanes. You can see those vehicles appearing and then the lead vehicle turns out. Tessa continues on its path. Read through an intersection with the green light. And, this one's really interesting Brandini on twitter said that this, there's a pedestrian approaches in this case he's GonNa take a left turn here he said the vehicle signals back on what he's doing what he's got mapped in terms of his navigate on autopilot directions. So let's go ahead and watch this. And it looks like this may be sort of an unmarked road here that tussles just sort of interpreting where the lane lane line should be. So you can see it approach the stop sign here. Mapping out a lot of details waiting for this card across. Its even picking up the biker land sign here in the other lane. There's the pedestrians. There are the pedestrians and it makes that left hand turn again with no lead vehicle. So super cool to see that this is more robust than even I expected this absolutely seems to be a step change from the report so far people have been very, very happy with it. I think this makes a Robo taxi vision from Tesla much more real because this is what you want I do as feature complete that means the Tesla vehicle is going to be autonomously capable of navigating the entire trip. In some cases, it's not gonna be everything but people are going. To go on rides and Tesla vehicles where they don't have to intervene one single time and that is going to make this so much more real feeling than has up until this point and of course, those drivers should still be diligently monitoring because there are certainly going to be corner cases that takes some time and more data to get ironed out
