"You refuse to be transparent with Congress regarding your interactions with FTX and Sam Bankman -Fried. That's the investigation we started last Congress. Finally, your lack of responsiveness to this committee's legitimate oversight continues to be unacceptable. And I want to finish here. In February, the committee made multiple requests for documents to the Securities Exchange Commission. This is normal congressional oversight. Yet seven months later, the committee has not received a single non -public document that was not part of a FOIA production. As I said, our patience is wearing thin. The SEC is not above the law, nor is it unique. Other financial regulators have routinely complied with congressional oversight. So let me be clear. I do not want to be the first chairman of this committee to issue a subpoena to the Securities Exchange Commission. And you should not want to be the first SEC chair to receive a congressional subpoena. Either we find a path forward where the SEC recognizes Congress is a co -equal branch of government and is responsive to our oversight duties, or my option is to issue a subpoena. It's time for you to consider the lasting consequences of your actions and what that means to the Securities Exchange Commission's reputation long term. While your time in this role may be temporary, the repercussions for your actions may be permanent for the agency. I yield back. What's up and welcome back. You know, they say when you're on the hot seat, the burns can last a lifetime. And the other night the hot seat was in Congress and Gary Gensler was feeling the heat. We got a lot to cover. Let's get it. All right, let's get it started here. This was just in full letter to the SEC, and this was on September 26th and addressed to Chairman Gensler. It included Representatives Mike Flood, Tom Emmer, Richie Torres, and Wylie Nickel, and they claimed the SEC continuously is discriminated against spot Bitcoin ETFs. And then we have this from Representative Warren Davidson, Gary Gensler must be held accountable. And then if you guys look at the tweet here throughout his tenure, Gary Gensler has blatantly ignored Congress, be it when considering rulemakings or responding to lawmakers oversight requests. Republicans continue to bring long overdue accountability to Gensler's SEC. Republicans are holding SEC Chair Gensler accountable. They even went so far as to say, all right, let's bring in subpoenas or maybe we should just fire this guy. He went further. Gensler's failures are many. That's why I introduced the SEC Stabilization Act to fire Gary Gensler. He'll see you in the hearing. And we've got so much of the hearing to get to. It was honestly out of line in some regards, hilarious. But let's get to it. And we're going to go ahead and get it started here with the GOP majority whip, Tom Emmer totally crushes Gary Gensler. Here's one quote. It cannot be understated. A common theme throughout your career, sir, is your relentless loyalty to the largest financial institutions at the clear expense of innovation, competition and everyday Americans. Let's roll the clip. Chair Gensler, I have a series of questions that require a yes or no answer. And in the interest of my limited time, I'd appreciate it if you would comply with it. Mr. Gensler, is it fair to say generally that large institutions in any given industry benefit more from regulatory uncertainty than everyday market participants or smaller institutions who don't have the scale or the capital to fund expensive compliance teams? Large institutions could benefit from uncertainty. Reclaiming my time. The answer is yes, sir. Mr. Gensler, you had an 18 year career at Goldman Sachs where you were partner and co -head of finance, correct? Yes, sir. Thank you. And is it correct to say that you made most of your personal wealth directly through your employment at this bank, Goldman Sachs? I've done well since then, too, sir.

A highlight from Congressional Republicans Lash Out At Gensler

"And at the end of it all, after dealing with several more non -answers from Gensler, an exasperated ogles closed the hearing with the call to open up the floodgates, hit him with subpoenas, get the information we need. The obfuscation, the not answering questions, I'm sick and tired of it. Dude, you wear tap dancing shoes better than Fred Astaire and enough is enough. It's time that questions are answered and that we have the information that we need. Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Thursday, September 28th, and today we are talking about Gensler's combative hearing. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on The Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Well, friends, we had yesterday another hearing featuring SEC Chair Gary Gensler. This was a House Financial Services Committee oversight hearing. And what makes this one a little bit more interesting, even in the Senate hearing that we heard last week, is one, it had some interesting lead -in in the fact that a bipartisan group had just sent Gary Gensler a letter encouraging him, in the strongest possible language, to approve a Bitcoin spot ETF. And two, it had the setup for some very interesting fireworks heading in. And indeed, that is exactly what we got. Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry set the agenda from the beginning with his opening remarks. He addressed Gensler saying, Last time you were before the committee, I voiced my concerns regarding your reckless approach to rulemaking, lack of capital formation agenda, crusade against the digital asset ecosystem, and unresponsiveness to Congress. So many things changed, so many things remain the same. Those are the same issues on the docket today. McHenry went on to accuse Gensler of doing nothing over the past five months to remedy the legitimate and often bipartisan concern expressed by this committee, adding that this is disgraceful and that their patience was wearing thin. Now, the Republican critique of Gensler's rulemaking agenda is that a huge number of rules have been proposed during his term without an economic analysis being performed on their cumulative effect. Regarding the crypto crackdown, McHenry rebuffed Gensler's constant assertion that the law is clear. He stated, your actions have created more confusion and lasting damage. Indeed, he said that contrary to the SEC's role of consumer protection, that Gensler's actions had, quote, pushed legitimate digital asset activities outside of regulated financial institutions where consumers are best protected. Keep in mind, this is all in the opening statements. McHenry went on noting that the SEC's regulation by enforcement agenda has been ineffective and has been on a massive losing streak in the courts. Still, the main point, the main thrust of McHenry's opening, was that it was unacceptable that the SEC had not engaged with Congress. Wrapping it up, McHenry said, the SEC is not above the law, nor is it unique. I do not want to be the first chairman of this committee to issue a subpoena to the SEC, and you should not want to be the first SEC chair to receive a congressional subpoena. Either we find a path forward where the SEC recognizes Congress as a co -equal branch of government and is responsive to our oversight duties, or my option is to issue that subpoena. It's time for you to consider the lasting consequences of your actions and what that means to the SEC's reputation long -term. While your time in this role may be temporary, the repercussions for your actions may be permanent for the agency. It was a fierce opening that sent the signal right away of what we were in store for. Now, a couple other quick notes around other opening statements. Democrat Ranking Member Maxine Waters used her time to rail against MAGA Republicans for pushing the government into a shutdown, and effectively defended the SEC's agenda on all fronts, and asserted that their rulemaking agenda was moving quote thoughtfully and effectively. Now, Gensler himself also got a chance to give an opening statement, and most of his time was spent on justifying the agency's regulatory agenda. He claimed overall that the rulemaking process had been measured with ample time and consideration given to public comment. Now, from there we moved into the question section of the hearing. McHenry as committee chair got to go first and used his questions to focus on Bitcoin. He asked Gensler whether he stood by his previous comments that Bitcoin is not a security, which Gensler evaded by talking in circles, never reaching a point. Notably frustrated by this process, McHenry snapped, I'm asking you to answer my question now. This is not supposed to be hard. Unable to get a straight answer, McHenry moved on to his point that there is currently no regulator with authority over Bitcoin's spot markets. He asked whether Gensler believed legislation should be passed to close that regulatory gap. To the surprise of no one, Gensler continued in his noncommittal manner, acknowledging the existence of said gap but failing to engage with the need for legislation. After that, McHenry left the crypto topic to press Gensler about when he can expect a response to document requests. Becoming ever more frustrated with Gensler's mealy -mouthed answers, McHenry said, This should not be the hard work of a chairman. You have 30 major rulemakings, but you won't even provide basic documents to us. Your unresponsiveness is non -compliance and we'll have to take action if you're not willing to comply. Now Maxine waters again as ranking minority member got to speak next. She, too, continued on the crypto theme, although she used her time to accuse the industry writ large of quote gross violations of the law that end in investors getting ripped off. She asked Gensler what the SEC has done to quote shut down crypto firms and whether quote crypto firms are getting the message. This, of course, mainly served to set up Gensler's usual sound bites. This is a field, he said, that's rife with fraud, manipulation and scams, and the American public is still getting hurt by the non -compliance in this field. Waters also used this chance to castigate Republicans who quote too often protect crypto firms. Now it was very clear listening to Waters that she wants the public to see the crypto industry as just Luna and FTX, to extrapolate them to everything and effectively shut the industry down. Now moving into the rest of the questioning, much of the substantive discussion centered on SEC staff accounting bulletin 121. Better known as SAB 121, this measure requires financial institutions to place intangible assets on their own balance sheet rather than in segregated customer accounts. The rule has been widely criticized for making crypto custody essentially unworkable for banks. Dissatisfaction was expressed from numerous representatives, including one of Gensler's usual allies, Brad Sherman. Sherman noted that the rule lumps all intangible assets together from real estate to crypto. He suggested that specifically designed rules for vastly different asset classes would be more appropriate. The most robust questioning on this topic, however, came from Republican Mike Flood. Flood put to Gensler that his staff did not consult with prudential regulators on SAB 121, which Gensler acknowledged. After stating that he had personally looked into this issue, Flood noted that the Accounting Standards Board had not published any guidance around crypto custody. This contradicted Gensler's comments from a previous hearing when he stated that the SEC was simply applying existing accounting rules. Flood said quote, With regard to SAB 121's potential effects on a bank's balance sheet, it's fair to say that fact pattern we have is that the SEC is not just going out of its lane, but it failed to comprehend the existence of any conflict with prudential rules. He suggested that there are only two explanations for this action. Either the SEC knew there was no justification for SAB 121 and chose to do it anyway, or that there were fairly obvious mistakes made during that process. Flood concluded saying quote, The case of SAB 121 raises the question of whether the SEC is compromised. Now, as you might expect, minority whip Tom Emmer lined up to take his shot with a series of rapid -fire yes or no questions. The main thrust of his questioning was around whether Gensler's history as a partner at Goldman Sachs had colored his agenda at the SEC. To get a sense of Emmer's opinion on this, just look at his tweet from yesterday where he said, Fact, Gary Gensler is not an impartial regulator, and his answers to my questions today prove just that. He's made a career of being relentlessly loyal to the largest institutions in America at the clear expense of innovation, competition, and everyday Americans. One example, Emmer presented Gensler with a quote he previously gave about bank executives being concerned about depositors moving money into crypto. Emmer asked, Can you assure this committee that your style of regulation by harassment towards digital asset innovation is to the benefit of every American and not driven by your desire to protect industry incumbents? At another point, Emmer asked whether Gensler believed that all crypto tokens were securities, which was, once again, avoided with a rambling noncommittal answer. And all of this built up to the big finale in which Emmer said, Mr. Gensler, despite your years of rhetoric, I'm convinced you are not an impartial regulator. Instead, it's clear you are working to consolidate your own power even though it means crushing opportunities for everyday Americans and, frankly, the financial future of this country. Even the federal courts are highlighting the damage you, sir, are doing to our constituents and they are telling you you don't have the legal authority to accomplish your goal of squashing competition in the financial markets. Now, while this was extremely satisfying to watch if you happen to agree with Emmer, in general, I find that this type of interaction is exactly why these hearings are so much about and not really about productive anything. This was a chance to articulate the Republican position against Gary Gensler. There's no real place for listening. It's about laying out a narrative. Now, in this case, I happen to agree with Emmer's narrative, but it still doesn't make for the most effective governance. Another notable line of questioning came from Democrat Richie Torres. Torres used his time to dig into the issue of whether crypto should be governed by securities law. He said, I worry that the term investment contract has become so infinitely malleable and I worry that when it comes to crypto, your interpretation of the term investment contract has no limiting principle and therefore could invite arbitrary and capricious enforcement action. Torres referenced an August report from six law professors which examined the history of the Howey test. That report had noted that no Supreme Court ruling has ever determined the existence of an investment contract scheme without recognizing one or more contracts underlying that scheme. When pushed to provide a case that contradicts this research, Gensler was unable to do so. When Gensler began to waffle, Torres cut him off, stating that, This is a question to which you should know the answer because the definition of an investment contract is the central issue. That's what determines the extent of your authority. That's what determines the applicability of federal securities law to crypto transactions. Your inability to answer that question is baffling to me. Switching tactics, Torres asked whether purchasing a Pokémon card would constitute a securities transaction. Gensler, as always, was unable to give a straight answer, stating that he would know what the context was, although generally he acknowledged that it would not be. Torres followed up by asking whether purchasing a tokenized Pokémon card would be considered a securities transaction. He asked Gensler if, For you, the process of tokenization is what transforms a non -securities transaction into a securities transaction? Gensler, of course, did not get to a real answer and just fell back on restating the elements of the Howey test. One other topic that you might be wondering if it came up was the Prometheum question. Prometheum was, of course, the first crypto firm to obtain SEC registration as a crypto brokerage, despite the fact that that licensing seems to give them no ability to actually offer digital asset trading. Prometheum is also minority -owned by a prominent Chinese firm. After Gensler failed to express any serious concern with the Prometheum situation, Congressman Ralph Norman noted that the SEC had taken 10 weeks to respond to a letter on the issue. He said, Andy Ogles brought the four -hour hearing full circle, saying, And at the end of it all, after dealing with several more non -answers from Gensler, an exasperated Ogles closed the hearing with the call to, So, what can be drawn from this hearing, if anything? Well, Gensler appears to be stubbornly sticking to his plan to evade document requests and oversight from Republican representatives. Over the four -hour hearing, there were few, if any, answers from Gensler that produced any new information or even, frankly, attempted good -faith engagement with the questions. Throughout the hearing, Gensler acted as if he knew there would be no serious repercussions and he could continue to treat congressional oversight as a joke. Republicans, for their part, are clearly fed up and ready to act. McHenry began and ended the hearing with a threat to subpoena the SEC and Gensler to compel a response to the numerous document requests that have gone unanswered. The threat seemed to carry little weight for Gensler, who seemed more than willing to allow that controversial action to play out. Now, on the flip side, establishment Democrats appear entirely disengaged with the legislative process and committed to the current strategy of naming failed crypto projects and demanding that the SEC continue its rampage throughout the industry. No senior Democrats appear at all concerned that the SEC is losing in court, as long as that litigation remains a roadblock for the industry. Representative Torres remained a bright spot and one of the few Democrats breaking with his senior colleagues. His questions showed a deep understanding of the legal issues surrounding token lawsuits and the need for additional clarity and crypto regulation. Overall, the hearing really just confirmed what we already knew about Gensler and his leadership of the SEC, which is, of course, that it seems very unlikely that anything will change. However, Republicans have now clearly reached the end of their rope and are ready to play hardball by using subpoena power. As Bill Huizenga put it to Gensler, what's your plan? Because we've got a plan. Until next time, guys, be safe and take care of each other. Peace.

"All right, so Gensler faces Congress, and it was a showdown for the ages. You guys do not want to miss this one. We've got a whole slew of clips from the entire hearing broken down into a very short run for you. So it's worth your time. Make sure and stick around for it. My name is Paul Baron. Welcome back into Tech Path. All right, so let's get into it. Let's just start off the top of the hill. And this, of course, is Mr. Patrick McHenry going in to the intro. Let's cut to that. So many things changed. So many things remain the same. Those are the same issues on the docket today. This means that in the last five months, you've done nothing to remedy the legitimate and often bipartisan concern expressed by this committee. That is disgraceful. Let me be clear, Chairman Gensler, our patience is wearing thin. Among your expansive rulemaking agenda items, there is not a single initiative aimed at improving access to capital. Third, your efforts to choke off the digital asset ecosystem, which has created real harm for consumers in our markets, is clear to all. On the other, we've seen your ad hoc regulation by enforcement approach to digital assets on a losing streak in the courts. You refuse to be transparent with Congress regarding your interactions with FTX and Sam Bank and Freed. Your lack of responsiveness to this committee's legitimate oversight continues to be unacceptable. And I want to finish here. So let me be clear, I do not want to be the first chairman of this committee to issue a subpoena to the Securities Exchange Commission. And you should not want to be the first SEC chair to receive a congressional subpoena. Either we find a path forward where the SEC recognizes Congress is a co -equal branch of government and is responsive to our oversight duties, or my option is to issue a subpoena. It's time for you to consider the lasting consequences of your action. All right. So McHenry kind of laying down the law there. And one thing he said that was a little confusing to me was a co -equal branch of government. They're really they're not a branch of government. So I was a little surprised at that. But let's go on the other side and listen to what Maxine Waters had to say. The chairman just indicated that his patience is running thin. Mine is thinner with the opposite side of the aisle. That said, I want you to know that you're doing exactly the job that the American people want and is shaping up to be the most pro worker, pro investor, pro small business SEC since FDR created the agency. My patient is wearing thinner than the chairman's patient. Let's get on with it.

"But a few urgent pressing situations that we have to deal with quite urgently. I think the first situation that we have to deal with is, hold on a second, James, it won't let me share screen so you could share the screen. So the first situation that we have to deal with is we have to deal with the looming US government shutdown because now the odds of a government shutdown are 90 % and if we do get a government shutdown, Goldman Sachs actually says that this shutdown could last as long as two to three weeks. I think we actually for now need to start preparing for this US government shutdown. The next thing that we have to start preparing for is a massive seller in the market. So this is not a joke. We do have a seller in the market. This seller owns 10 % of all the Bitcoin in circulation and 1 .8 million Bitcoin and they are going to start selling. In fact, what you can see from this chart over here is that they have already started selling a whole lot of their Bitcoin. So we're going to be talking about the seller when they're going to hit the market and why that's going to impact the Bitcoin price and how much that's going to impact the Bitcoin price. Then what we need to talk about is we need to talk about this little price move that we had yesterday in Bitcoin and what it actually means because we seem to be in a position where every time that we get a pump, we get the pump, but then the pump dies and that's exactly what happened yesterday. So we could understand what actually happened yesterday. What took us to 26 ,800 and brought us back down and is this thing going to continue to bring us down every single time we have a pump. Then I want to go through a knock -by -knock account of how Gary Gensler was taken down in Congress yesterday. Regarding your interactions with FTX and Sandbank and Freed, that's the investigation we started last Congress. Either we find a path forward where the SEC recognizes Congress as a co -equal branch of government and is responsive to our oversight duties, or my option is to issue a subpoena. All right, so we're going to go for a blow -by -blow account of exactly what happened yesterday. Gary Gensler was absolutely, absolutely, absolutely destroyed in Congress. And then, and then, and then, I've got a massive, massive story for you, but I'm going to keep that story until the very end of the show. So let's go, guys. Big show. All right, we are back and we've got a massive, massive, massive show for you guys today. And I think the best part of the show today is going to be the show, the part where we discuss how Gary Gensler was annihilated yesterday in Congress, because this guy yesterday was absolutely, absolutely, absolutely annihilated. It's actually not, that's actually not Gary Gensler, believe it or not. So this is actually a true story. Gary Gensler has an identical twin brother. His name is Robert Gensler. I thought that this was an absolute joke, but I actually looked it up and it's true. Gary Gensler does have an identical twin brother. His name is Robert Gensler. No, no jokes. Anyway, Gary was the one that was destroyed yesterday in Congress. It wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't Robert. It was actually Gary. But crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy that we actually see these things. All right, listen, welcome back, guys. Huge show today. I want to just thank you all. I see we're very, very, very, very, very close to 650 ,000 subscribers. We are 9, 10 subscribers away from 650 ,000 subscribers. When we get to 650 ,000 subscribers, our next move is to catch up to George from Crypto's Ice, because he's like our next target. We've got him in our sights. He was 100 ,000 subscribers ahead of us before the beginning, in the beginning of the year. What is your now? 17 ,000? 17 ,000 in the banter fam, the banter fam are definitely going. We're going to go after him now. He's our next target. We're going to try and catch up to him. All right, let's go. We've got a big show today. If you haven't subscribed, subscribe to channel, like this content. If we get to what is the number of likes we had yesterday? 1 ,500. If you get to 1 ,600 likes, I'm going to show you the biggest Bitcoin seller in the market. I'm going to show you why this seller is actually going to be selling. I'm going to, we're going to decide together whether or not we should be panicking about this seller selling. And it's a serious seller. The seller has 18, 1 .8 million Bitcoin, which is 10 % of the circulating supply on Bitcoin and they are going to be selling. So yeah, if we get to 1 ,500 likes and we beat yesterday, then we're going to get into that story. In the interim though, let's look at the bubbles. Let's see what's happening on the bubbles. So I see Rune is up. Let's just see how Rune is doing. Rune up at 187. I'm actually, I actually have got quite a big Rune position. I see Rollbit at 12 cents. You would be 20 % up if you actually took our trade. You got Ape moving. Remember that you got the whole banter newsroom here on the side. So everything that we, all the places where we get our news from are actually available to you right here. And if you want to follow any of our researchers, there's 44 of them. You can just click and you can just follow them directly from the newsroom. We're also improving banter bubbles. I reckon in about a month, it's going to be the fastest bubble app in the whole market. I'm also watching the Dixie and I think the reason why we should be watching the Dixie today is because we had the GDP numbers. The numbers GDP came in at 2 .1%. They expected was 2 .1%. So nothing, no surprises when it comes to GDP. And I think that when we talk about, when we talk about GDP, we need to talk about it in context of the looming government shutdown because we've got this, this looming government shutdown. It's a real thing now, you know, we were first saying that the shutdown wouldn't happen. But now Goldman Sachs is saying, look, if the White House don't resolve their differences by the end of tomorrow, that would make it the end of Friday. And by Sunday, they would have a government shutdown. Now, that would be, I think, the fourth government shutdown in the last decade. And it would be, it would have a whole lot of effects. I think what we need to do today is actually just look at the effects of a government shutdown. And, you know, do we need to prepare for it? Like, do we need to start stocking up on toilet paper, like we did in COVID? Do we need to start stocking up on food, on rice and oil? We need to, we need to make sure that we understand exactly what's happening. But before we get there, I want to talk about yesterday's little Bitcoin pump. So we had the pump yesterday and then we had a little bit of a dump and it keeps happening every single time. We keep losing momentum. Now, I think the pump is probably expected and I do think we're going to start getting a whole lot more pumps. And I'll tell you why I think we're going to start getting a whole lot more pumps because there is more money coming into the Chinese economy. So remember that China's in big trouble now and the way they're going to get themselves out of trouble is they're going to start stimulating the economy and getting more money into the economy. Well, you can see that liquidity in China is starting to go up because of all these things that China is doing. So I am expecting the price of Bitcoin to start moving upwards because of this liquidity.

"Good evening, and welcome to The Crypto Overnight -er. I'm Nick Ademus, and I will be your host as we take a look at the latest cryptocurrency news and analysis. So sit back, relax and let's get started. And remember, none of this is financial advice. And it's 10 p .m. Pacific on Thursday, September 7th, 2023. Welcome back to The Crypto Overnight -er, where we have no sponsors, no hidden agendas, and no BS. But we do have the news, so let's talk about that. Tonight we delve into Ripple's clash with the SEC and what it means for the U .S. as a global blockchain leader. We'll explore the ambitious bid made by ARK Invest for an Ether ETF and why the SEC can't keep dodging the issue. We're also breaking down FASB's new accounting rule change, a potential game changer for institutional crypto adoption. And don't miss our take on Visa's strategic partnership with Solana, a move that could blur the lines between traditional and decentralized finance. Plus, we'll discuss Vitalik Buterin's latest venture to bring privacy and compliance together. And finally, we'll examine a lawsuit that could send shockwaves through the crypto lending space. All that and more, so stay tuned. Chris Larsen is the co -founder and current CEO of Ripple. He recently spoke about the state of cryptocurrency regulation in the U .S. He expressed concerns about the U .S. losing its status as a global blockchain leader to cities like London, Singapore and Dubai. Larsen stated that the Securities Exchange Commission lost on all key issues in the ongoing XRP case. He criticized Chair Gensler for his enforcement -first regulatory approach. Larsen noted that many crypto entrepreneurs are considering moving their operations outside the U .S. Larsen highlighted that the SEC lost on everything important in its case against Ripple. He mentioned that the SEC's request for an interlocutory appeal could extend the legal battle. Larsen also criticized the U .S. government for its hostile crypto policies, which he believes have forced crypto -related businesses to move their operations overseas. He emphasized that the U .S. screwed up on crypto and blockchain policy. Larsen's comments are a scathing indictment of the SEC and the U .S. government's approach to crypto regulation. It's a glaring spotlight on the SEC's flawed tactics. Larsen's critique of Gensler's enforcement -driven approach echoes a sentiment that many in the crypto community share. The lack of clear legislative guidelines has led to exactly what Larsen called it, regulation by enforcement, a method that stifles innovation and drives businesses away from the U .S. Larsen's observations about the U .S. losing its edge in the blockchain sector to cities like London, Singapore and Dubai are particularly damning. These cities have managed to create a regulatory environment that not only protects consumers but fosters innovation. The U .S., by contrast, has been pushing the industry offshore, a move that could have long -term repercussions for its technological leadership. The SEC's loss in the Ripple case is a symptom of a larger issue. The U .S. needs to rethink its approach to crypto regulation and fast. Otherwise, it risks not only losing businesses but also its position as a global leader in blockchain technology. The time for Congress to act is now, lest the U .S. continue to fall behind in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape. As Larsen calls out the SEC's failing crypto policies, ARK Invest is testing the waters with its Ether ETF bid. The SEC can't kick this can down the road forever. Stay tuned and don't forget to hit that subscribe button for more deep dives like this one. ARK Invest and 21 shares have filed for the first ever U .S. exchange -traded fund that will directly invest in Ether. If approved, this ETF would be a historic milestone in the cryptocurrency investment landscape. Unlike recently proposed Ether futures ETFs, this offering would hold Ether itself. The ETF is poised to trade under the ticker symbol AKRE. The custodian of the trust would be Coinbase custody. The SEC has yet to approve any Ether ETFs, with potential applicants hesitant due to the asset's greater price volatility and regulatory uncertainty compared to Bitcoin. James Saffert is a Bloomberg ETF analyst. He estimates that the SEC's final deadline to approve both ARK and VANEX filings would be May 23, 2024. ARK Invest's move to file for a spot Ether ETF is a bold step in a regulatory landscape that's been anything but friendly to crypto. This is a direct investment in Ether, sidestepping the futures market entirely. The choice of Coinbase as custodian is another strategic move. Coinbase is already a trusted name in the crypto world. Its involvement lends additional credibility to the ETF. But let's not forget the SEC's historical reluctance to approve spot ETFs, especially for cryptocurrencies. The SEC has been more comfortable with futures ETFs, citing investor protections that they claim cannot be met by spot markets. ARK's filing comes at a time when the SEC is already under pressure from Grayscale. Grayscale won a lawsuit against the SEC, challenging the agency's reasoning for not approving spot ETFs. This puts the SEC in a tight spot. They can no longer hide behind vague justifications. Now, here's what I think. If ARK's ETF gets the green light, it could set a precedent for other crypto ETFs, particularly those who aim to invest directly in cryptocurrencies rather than in futures. It's a potential game changer, not just for Ether, but for the entire crypto market. And for a government and regulatory bodies often viewed as obstacles rather than facilitators, this could be a chance to change the narrative. But will they? That's the million Ether question. From one SEC hurdle to another, let's pivot to the FASB's new accounting rule. It's a shift that could grease the wheels for institutions eyeing crypto. So smash that like button if you're all for seeing big money into the crypto world.

The SEC Targets Gemini and Genesis

"Going to talk about the SEC action as it was dropped yesterday. I'm going to put will in the spot for this one. SEC Gemini genesis, what's your take on this one? This is a whole new chapter in the Gemini genesis feud. There is a lot going on here. In Zach, I kind of want to fact check you. I'm not sure if you're quite right. I think there was a little change in the language in that video because he did call back to BlockFi and then forcement action there. But I think 90% of that video was old. I think they just substituted a little bit in there. So yes, hats off to Gary gensler for reusing content. The cheapest way to do it. But let's talk about the winkel vibe in their reaction to what happened yesterday. So if genesis and Gemini feuding publicly on Twitter, we have Barry silbert, and the winklevoss going at each other in front of everyone. It's been great and spectacular to watch unless you have funds on Gemini earn that is, of course. But we have nice tweet from Tyler, winklevoss yesterday, saying, quote, it's disappointing that the SEC chose to file an action today as Gemini and other creditors are working hard together to recover funds. This action does nothing to further our efforts and help earn users get their assets back. Their behavior is totally counterproductive. He goes on in his tweet to say that the SAT did not even give notice to Gemini or genesis before filing here. In fact, they just sent out press release, issued some tweets, put up this cute little video and let the wreckage start on Twitter. And that's a pretty tough place if you're in Gemini or genesis seats, right? Like they're already dealing with very angry customers, they're already dealing with huge holes and losses in their balance sheets. And then Gary Gonzalez comes up from the top roads and hits him with the steel chair. It's a very unfair and it's pretty spectacular to watch.

Any time you're around fireworks, or you might have, like a really loose finger. Thank you. Better tell me again Go back to that day. That pool's made the decision to leave ST. Us and go to the angels and say, Okay, you're going to go. You're going to get a butt. Load them on wonder, But at some point you need to de wack if I for lack of a better term, his favorite I can't tell you how much I love baseball. Yes, Matt. Paulie. He was there yesterday. He'll be back out there today. He'll be back with us in a couple of minutes because it's a brewer's warm up. After 12 and he joins us now live from American family field, All right. Was your favorite memory of how that unfolded yesterday. What did you see that Maybe we didn't that you'll always remember. Well, The thing that really stands out to me is Craig Counsell talked about this in his post game press conference the way that it built to that moment, you know, we It's a great moment. It's amazing. I don't know if I've seen a better finish to a game since I've been covering the brewers, but to even get to that point all the things that have to happen. J. B. J had a really bad game yesterday left the bases loaded. He made two plays in the outfield that weren't very good, which is really rare for him as one of the best. He leads off the inning with the double they have great at. That's just the way it played out. It was It was a three act play in itself. Just that ninth inning alone, So I think the thing that I really appreciate And that's what's got to happen. I mean, the Brewers have only come back in a game like that, where they're down by by that many runs in the ninth inning. It's only happened a handful of times in franchise history. For that to happen. It's a lot more than just the vocal background slams. I think that's one of the things that really stood out to me is the way that any developed. I admitted it earlier this hour, I I was completely unfamiliar with the term ultimate Grand Slam until this morning, when I was just poking around and reading. Up on everything. And Lo and behold, an ultimate grand slam is a thing I had you, I I assume you'd have heard the term before, but it's a new one. For me. I like it. Yes, I have heard that term and also saying that's not being talked about a whole lot. And I I mentioned in a town on the postgame show yesterday. Scott. That's the only pinch it walk off Grand Slam in the history of the Milwaukee Brewers. Well, that's good stuff that is, there's eight of them all time. And that's the only time a pinch hitter has ever done it. Yeah. Man. Special Day Special day. All right, man. Hang on one sec. Quick break when we come back. How do they follow that up, huh? What do they do for an encore? Matt will give us a preview of brewers warm up next. More of the Steve Skiff ET show. Next on.

"It's why some coaches don't talk to guys for 24 hours once we get back to High School, coaches, because we've come back and a great time, you're supposed to feel bad time today, probably bad, right? It's like, it's supposed to be awesome. So, I like it when there's James book Night Show and he completely alter shot, and I got enough text saying like this jump shot, might be real wage. Super touch, like he said, he's at touch, but look. Now you don't have a guy on who's not kicking out his legs as much but he's shooting the the crap out of all good. But like for everyone else the periphery uncontested shots last year, in nineteen straight and a workout video posted. So it's just no Defenders. My point being that you're supposed to look at a protest per day off to build you up, if you don't look, there's a way bigger issue there. That's a tiny piece and, and all the pieces that matter, but let's not put too much stock into those things. Anyway, I could do you not care about protests like, I can't emphasize that enough. I don't give it about them. Well, the combines long, but over, and NBA Scouts are still in Chicago, cuz these Pro days will not end. I mean, they're just like every hour on the hour for the next 3 days, right? And the number of texts I get from Executives that are like, have to go to this pro day when wage, Get out of Chicago like its it through pro day. I'm not going to name names that's rude but like it's it's a it's an event setup page to make the player look good. It is set up in like scripted ahead of time in terms of work exactly. Like they're comfortable in the setting. I care about em player looks like when he's uncomfortable, why exactly? Yeah well look at this, this is guys back to everything was saying, you want to see a guy play uncomfortable on the road higher response. I know Zach over the year so there's wasn't like a road, everything is a road, but like that's more important than shooting in an empty gym with somebody in like the the front row and some Scouts and you'll be nervous but it just you versus the basket just got locked in there. It's different. Cause you're you're playing on how a team switches on, whatever side ball screens, like there's different. I want to see how your brain works when you have to make basketball decisions and not, how do I catch and shoot and just plant one foot and wage. Hopefully make it. If not I'm going to get through more passes in the next twenty. Five seconds of these guys. Right? Like the sharife Cooper. One is the one that got the publicity because of the video of Omar Cooper, his father throwing the ball at his head. Like I don't care. Whatever. Whatever works for you guys. Don't care, right. But we watch sharife Cooper throughout this season, have like a drastic lean on his shot, right? Like he leans back on. He didn't have that in the Pro Day. Know why she probably didn't have it in the pro day, though, he lost the clock back of the head to the left, it did look better, let's write up and down, but go ahead. You know why? Because there's a guy running at him and sharife Cooper. Six foot one sec,.

You know, I had a lot of 47 Mile an hour fastballs when I was in high school, um, not to record it now, but once upon a time, but so I understand where Tony was coming from, And he is old school. And there's this whole thing you know, between the old school guys, I mean, you could go back, Tonto. Um, you mentioned Michael Lewis. "We'll try to get to some rapid fire stuff things that are buzzing but obviously the inauguration President Trump's term coming to an end today officially at nude, and we're now joined by Terry Casey, who is our Republican strategist, former member of the Franklin County Board of Elections this morning and news radio 6 10 W. T. V and certainly the past four years Take Terry have been interesting to say the least, we'll hear all about in the history books how President Trump would become First to be impeached twice. But what is President Trump's legacy? Well in his taped address yesterday, He cited a number of things, including the economy. There's some international things in terms of substance, maybe two piece a little more in the Middle East. He also said that didn't start any wars, etcetera so, but clearly the economy and covert are a key part of the question. And that's partly what happens with Biden in his 1st 100 days will give a little bit of a cunt. Rest. I was texted by Democrats friend this morning, said. Great Day in America, because clearly there's no shyness of opinions between love and hate in terms of what happened during the past four years, or what might happen in the future. Terry Casey, Republican strategist with us this morning on the Planet Boxer show on NewsRadio, 16 W. T. V and Terry. It's been no secret that the president is been a polarizing leader at the same time, will historians view or applaud or criticized his stance on some of the foreign policy like one of the things I thought was a breath of fresh air is this stance with China, for example? Well, clearly China needed to be confronted. But as of right now, that history book is very much unclear as far as where the future goes because correctly, China was called on the carpet for Certain economic and international things that was doing and where it's headed. But we don't have a conclusion that says we've solved all of the trading questions because clearly China in the past Has cheated on its currency value of situations certain of its trading practices that's dumping other things in terms of how it wants to have access to our markets, but then limits How American and other international company countries, companies can come into their nation and trade and do other kind of things. So clearly the problem was identified with China. But it's far from over or solved. And that's why the contrast of how does Biden handle these things? Do we build on the questions raised and solve them or Do we kind of go back to business? As usual with China? We're gonna get to Biden's 1st 100 days and what he plans on doing and just a couple of minutes here, But do you see President Elect Biden? Keeping that stance And I guess the chokehold on China little bit, Terry. Well, there's a big question with all presidents between words and deeds, because you could always talk a good game. But the question is, what do you really accomplished? And what do you get done? And that's part of the debate on President Trump's legacy of what did it really accomplish should do clearly, In the first three years, the economy really moved and improved significantly. Then covert happened. And as outlined in today's Wall Street Journal editorial, It makes the point that on covert, particularly with the vaccine Nearly here, the clearly there's a big debate on the implementation and how that's going and maybe a couple more vaccines ready to be approved on also theirs. The view that the economy is positioned once we get covert under control to really sore, so that might be you could argue some of what the groundwork laid by Trump Will pay off for Biden. On the other hand, people might say Biden's going to suddenly do things greatly different it better on the vaccine roll out and So that's all part of it. But you might look at history whether it's President Truman. There's been other presidents like George W. Bush, how they finished and then how historians Look back, sometimes how it looks at the end of an administration can be very different. Years decades later because people like Truman was viewed as a failure when he left office. But in history, they give him a lot higher marks. Yeah, it was interesting. Adding to covert one of President elect Biden's first orders is expected to be a nationwide mask mandate for all federal property. And interstate travel that will last for at least 100 days. Terry. I want to talk about post presidency with Donald Trump. He'll be living in South Florida. There are many different plans. We're hearing about one, including I saw this morning about his own party, forming his own party, The Patriot Party, your thoughts. Well, there's been a lot of things speculated, including he might start his own. TV or cable network. He might talk about starting his own party, but I think just like a cable TV networks, starting your own political party, it's not a simple was just making an announcement because to build Mechanics in all the states all across the United States is thought as simple or easy is what should think, And in fact, in some states, it's almost impossible to start an effective third party, so there's gonna be a lot of speculation. As far as what Might or might not happen and also how you finish his president. And then what you do after you're president sometimes affect your legacy. If you look at the accomplishments of Jimmy Carter in his period of the economy and other things, it wasn't very good, but people viewed him as a positive in terms of what he did. Post presidency. So that's one of the questions. What does President Trump do? How does he polish his image and a lot of that's going to be how did things go? Under Biden because things when we hope go very well. But there's still a lot of challenges economically internationally, and particularly with Covad, as far as what's gonna happen, So let me play Devil's advocate Terry first SEC. Let's say Trump forms his own party is called the Patriot Party. What it It certainly would be a win for the Democrats right because all it would do is take voters and let's be honest. Not all 74 plus million that voted for Trump. I was one of them would necessarily be voting for or go across and vote for Trump in his own Patriot Party, But at the same time, it would certainly be a win for the Democrats. And it would, I guess lessen the votes for the GOP in the next election, right? Well, it could potentially split. It all depends on who might want to go with that party. But believe me when people have looked at running for president as an independent, it's a daunting task and to set up And effectively have a new third party is not as easy in reality as it sounds on paper. So again, there's been talk of Ah New cable network. He might start called Trump TV. But that cost hundreds of millions of dollars to set up and you've got to get cable companies to carry you so Again. What sounds on paper to speculate now and doing it in reality or two different things well and to be able to run for president. You need cash. You need sponsors and and supporters and we're seeing a lot of these big companies. Now withholding from Pac Money s O. That certainly would make a huge difference with Trump if he wanted to run again in 2024, but again in the media, people pro and con on Trump like to speculate on a lot of things that might or might not happen, and some of the things that were predicted after the election. Obviously didn't happen. We're having the transition. There's no martial law. There's no other kind of things that some people said might happen, but but presidential legacies Are not determined in on Inauguration Day or in a few days after a lot of it's gonna depend on how to things go with fighting, and he's still got a very challenging circumstance because just.

2 Pac-12 football games canceled as virus problems linger

"It's not that much of a surprise, but here we are about halfway through the college football season games are getting called off left and right because of the pandemic. Ain't Higgins to The Wall Street Journal has been following this story all fall and joins us now laying there have been game's canceled before now. But this weekend's L s U Alabama matchup seems to be the most impactful one yet. Yes. Yes, And it's funny because this is a game where last year it was down to the gates of the century between number one Alice, you and number three Alabama and you know you look a little bit different this year. Alabama's number one and L s U is currently not Frank. But the issue is that you know, this is a major rivalry game that was going to be on prime time television and because of an outbreak it Ellis you. They currently don't have any scholarship, tight ends or long staffers available and they're down to just one scholarship quarterback and you know, to be fair to you, Jason leave. The quarterback that's available has played before, and he's great, but It's really hard to say the football game with just one quarterback, because if he goes down, you're kind of out of luck. And I think that this is emblematic of kind of just the trends that are going out of the country and that coronaviruses spiking and a lot of places and Trouble seeing that reflected on cultural bar rafters. Now the S E C was one of the first conference is to dive right back in there. They surprised by what's going on. Well there, commissioner. Great. Thank you said he is shaken but not deterred. And aside from sounding like a martini order, I think he's right in that the Way that the season was designed. They were supposed to be flexibility built in and that most of the schools are planning on playing 10 games over the course of about 12 or 13 weeks and with some flexibility on making up games and you know to this point Yes, you see, has been able to do that without too many disruptions. Previously, when Florida had a big outbreak. I think they moved around six games involving 17 to make sure that every team could put there. Gains in But the problem with L s U Alabama is that Was used already had to move one of its games because the Florida game got postponed. So that's now being played on December. 12 and Ellis You in theory has December 19th open as Saturday, but That's the same Saturday at the S E. C championship. And right now it's looking like Alabama might have a game that day. So in order for L s U and Alabama and meet its Probably gonna have to be some moving around of the schedule. And there's been some talk of playing next week and having ls use game against Arkansas. I believe be pushed around and being a couple games, and I think you know if you're really a puzzle master, there's a way to do it. But it would require moving several games at this point to get L s U and Alabama to play and if they don't play, this would be the first SEC came Steve. No

Vanderbilt-Missouri is the first SEC game postponed due to COVID-19

"We welcome you back. Our is live and underway busy busy I our. Thirty minutes ago we learned that the first SEC game has been postponed of this twenty twenty campaign it will be. Rescheduled Vanderbilt Missouri scheduled for this Saturday in Columbia. Now, be December twelfth. We'll talk to coach drink in thirty minutes and get his reaction to that. So here we go more phone calls in a minute a lot of fans unhappy from every aspect of the winners and losers speaking of the latter. Let's talk about the Lsu Tigers two weeks ago Scott Rabble a came on. Wasn't ready to hit the panic button. Everything was calm. Scott's gotcha very scopes. Scott Seen It all before. Scott. Have you seen anything quite like the ending of Saturday's game? Good afternoon how are you? and got to the NFL Yeah that's that's you mentioned I'm kind of reminded of the and it's not a good time Lsu that ninety nine, Game Alabama when just food he tried to run the ball down like. John elway. Pin Wheeled in the air came up a yard short and and they you know they they threw the ball and the they did it. They didn't score. So yeah, it was. It was reminds me of you not good times for Lsu but you know. I gotta say the way lsu played Saturday. On defense but also on offense failing to convert a third down there really is kind of justice. They didn't really deserve to win that game I, mean they they you know they pulled it out and they would've pulled it out there. It would have been a win that covered up a lot of a lot of issues. So what? I don't know if it's safe to go outside I. Mean I know I know the version fortunately escaped the worst of the storm the other day was farther to the West but I mean what? What what is the buzz in your town especially both Pallini and and I mean three games in he seems like he's on the tip of everyone's tongue is it fair? Oh. Sure? Yeah. Absolutely. I mean this is the this is the defense that You know this change Dave Randall left defensor longtime defensive coordinator WHO's hard under? Les. Miles. You know the several years ago he left me the head coach at Baylor. So they had to hire someone like forced out or anything. So hopefully knew who was here under miles and those first three great years in the Mouse Oh, five Oh, six Oh, seven the end up with a national championship and you know just it hasn't worked at me. This questions is Bo behind the Times is not adjusted to those are some great defensive back then with Clinton Dorsey and Tyson Jackson and and you know you're a great players like that got a little on Landry secondary great players like that, and you kind of wonder you know the Adjusting but. It's just been Y- coaches you're on himself is trying to put it all on him and the coaches and they got a coach better. You said that, Saturday, after the game you set it on his press conference today, they just lost followed. They're they're good players on the Stevens, their high NFL draft pick on the defense Derek Stanley Jacoby Stevens to real cox the transfer for. North. Dakota. State people said he might have been a first round draft pick. Had He come? Out and said of transferring Ali Gay Defensive End they lost a lot of great players, but this shouldn't be this bad and aurons You know famously said, then the all season, the defense look better in practice than at any time last year, and obviously that is not the case and they gave up eight plays a twenty yards of more. Missouri averaged almost nine yards per play and five and a half yards per carry it and it just that's just not. That's just not winning football and worst of all they all she just looked. I saw gene gene Chizik said after the game. So you. Look, like on Defense Soft and lost, and Lsu looks like both unfortunately for them. By, the way everything you just got through saying you could replicate for three or four other SEC schools except none of them are the defending champions like Lsu. Scott we're three games in I. Mean we all know that and I'm not sure how much you can value. A. Win Over Vanderbilt Right now considering the state of that program. But as you look ahead I, mean you don't look any farther than this weekend against Florida. LSU will need to score seventy points to keep up with them. Immediate? Looks. That way and I'm not a betting Guy Pa, my government I think I've looked at the over maybe go for that Florida's defense looks pretty challenge to Alabama wins and gives up forty eight points to stole miss. But the the disturbing serving big frail issue. Yeah. Everyone's having trouble defensively No question. Do you wonder if that lack of spring football or the proper time to prepare in the off season has hurt them But you know you look at that once you give six, hundred, twenty, three guys and the Mississippi State, history has been dreadful offense against Arkansas and Kentucky the last two weeks Missouri scored like I think three touchdowns combined the first Games averaging like fifteen points a game against Alabama Tennessee and it just go wild lsu just look great. I mean that's that's the part. That's that's extra disturbing prelates pans and like the lsu fans always. Always wanted this offense obviously, they complained for years and rightly. So by the the plotting less miles offense, but there's a lot of pride in the school, the the the the billy cannon is the star up in you know and and now Joe Borough and players like that. But the tried is always been the defense, the Chinese bandits, Tommy Tests Inova Win Dorsey Laurent Landry mentioned, Patrick, Peterson, Taran Taran Matthew, and what else he doesn't play Great Defense I. Think this is this is like a core value of lsu's program that is not being being held a lived up to, and it's it's very troubling Tila lsu probably would take a little less offense for some better defensive as. Scott Realistically I mean this weekend looks like a long shot I would have to say I mean still Alabama. Out There Auburn out there. South, Carolina am I mean everyone knows the schedule? I mean before the season some might be hard to win them all but maybe maybe eight or nine. Where's the sliding scale right now? Ball I don't know it's sliding really. Really. Bad way down the hill. You know a lot of hills here in Baton Rouge but he found it. It's sledding Hill that way. Down Victory Hill Yes for the team marches down normally before the Games by Tigers stadium is not vitriol right now I I like everybody else said like the six games else who's GonNa win and four games where the season's going to be decided Alabama Auburn Florida and Texas a&M, and right now I don't think he can after South Carolina just banning by the same score Lsu did Arkansas has played. She's gotTa go to they'll South Carolina, comes here in in two weeks I don't I don't think. There's any Sherwin left for L. Share on the schedule I don't think they're gonNA go one nine but I think right now you just gotTa. Look at what can you do to have a have a winning season they're still good players There's on this team in town they lost a lot from last year obviously, but you know the they've got to. Change, the things coach today coach talk today about simplifying both offense and defense. Again remember the offense was Owen on third down Saturday that's a pretty bad step to although this court forty-one points should have been enough to win, but it's still some really great players on the House Brennan. Has Not Been, Joe Borough, been very good. You know he's had over three hundred yards passing game over four hundred yards Saturday tariffs, marshalls been tremendous hit two, hundred, thirty, five, yard service and three touchdowns Saturday. So this, this isn't good players in the team, but they just got to get tougher and and find a way to grind out a win somewhere and and this is not entirely similar fall I gotta say from twenty. Dissimilar from twenty seventeen she lost at home Detroit and went to Florida the next week and they won the game I'm not saying I'm not predicting she win. But this have the size, a lot of field of that when they kind of looked tougher and more determined and they found a way to win and they've never looked back games on order on, they're gonna be hard pressed to avoid doing that obviously late this week. He had I wouldn't call it a charm to existence because now that you mentioned the troy game and there had been some ups and downs but certainly coming off the best year ever how is he handling the defeats? A He's he's trying to take a lot of the blame on himself and deflected from his team Not exactly deflecting from the assistant coaches said, he's talked about, hey, on defensive we just have one coverage and one one formation. Let's do that. Let's and you said. Some things on offense too. I think he's kind of talking about Scott Lenihan, the new guy, a passing game coordinator WHO and Red Zone specialists who take the place of Joe Brady who who was on the staff last year and of course talking about Botha? Lenient? Coach, and he said something telling today I thought that you said, you know the most Ryan. The defense but he he's he's going to you know be checked in on every formation every plan that they use you know as a defensive line coach that's his forte he he's going to be I think maybe a little more hands on with the formations they use and the and the and the coverages, and but some of that are doing well, he's Got Thrown out I think that. This is the defense he wanted this is he talking about being wardrobe four three and they've got a great. Turn of Russia there plus six turnover ratio they're doing very well at that the they're causing some some big plays in that in that regard and turnovers just can't get off the field and can't Can't stop people and giving up a big big yards on the ground, and then these these huge places. The elected eight plays a twenty yards or more Saturday and gets very, which is

A Work Schedule without Childcare

"Had a very interesting blog post. Recently, I thought that detailed away that A. Two Person. Could Alternate things like in a very structured way you want to go into that. So I got an interesting amount of feedback from this not so much in comments on the blog but I heard from people who wanted to share it with other audiences because it just hasn't been spelled out exactly how a split schedule with two working parents. Splitting fifty-fifty could, in fact, work in could give both parties approximately thirty hours a week of focused work time. Mostly during the workday. So none of these like get up at four. I, am and work till I am things which if you have today you have to do but you also wouldn't have to in this sap. So the idea is. that. You have two different shifts on during the workday one is eight to three. And one is one to six, and that is predicated on the idea that it young children who are home are napping from one to three those a rough nap window. We are recording this at two-thirty right genevieve napping and Sarah does not have childcare today. And you know older children could use that time for independent work or for screen time or whatever you wanted to do. The idea is that that is that could be double in terms of the parents. One Parent is on during distraction. So some of their hours are not pure hours but. Mostly, two of them will be able to work anyway. So one party takes eight to three Monday, Wednesday and one to six on Tuesday and Thursday the other party takes one to six on Monday Wednesday and eight to three on Tuesday and Thursday, and then they alternate on Friday who gets eight to three and who gets one to six. So each week it's butts off there and what works out to is then twenty nine hours during the weeks when you have the three one secs shifts and It works out to thirty one hours on the weeks where you have the three, eight, two, three shifts, and the key thing for this to work is that when you are on your job is not just to keep the children safe like being adults present in the house, you are also committing to keeping the children out of your partners office, right so that they can be guaranteed those hours being at eight to one one, the sex or whatever. are focused right like absolutely focused they are not on your they're not dealing with anything, and if you do this that each of you can, in fact, get the twenty five cure focused hours and then between four to six hours each week of. Most likely but could be interrupted because of naptime was or whatever. And both of you would have both some afternoon in some morning hours and so I know that that's an issue that some people be like well, we just split it that she takes the mornings when I take the afternoons. But then what you know, there are some teams that always WanNa meet in the morning because some other person has a different shift of their schedule and so this allows you to occasionally have morning meetings or occasionally have afternoon meetings as the case may be again, this has to be pretty much you are committed to this. You're committing to keeping the kids out of your partners office you can obviously arrange for A. Sub. Credit. On a day, if there was something like you have to pitch a new client, a huge project in the only time they can meet. Tuesday antenna at ten. AM technically Tuesday as the tae that you work on the sex like probably you could arrange with your spouse to get a sub credit that you would make it up for that person at another point but. You WanNa. Have that be relatively infrequently but you know working twenty nine or thirty hours a week with no pay childcare is. Pretty good. If that's a situation that a couple might find themselves in and if they need more hours, you can extend the swap idea to different times I mean. Maybe each of you works from six to ten pm one night a week and that gets you up to thirty four hours a week or you do six to ten am on a weekend or something you each get one weekend morning and you know what it is but. That is basically fulltime ours, and if they are plans, well, you will be okay.

Ole Miss Coach Lane Kiffin on college football in a pandemic

"Really looking forward to this next guest. He's Lane Kiffin head coach at Ole Miss and coach Kiffin joining us from campus as. The rebels still have a little bit of time to coach. How's it going? Good afternoon great. I'm really looking forward to the interview to all on the same page well. Okay You promised me the other day you tape the coaches meeting last Thursday morning, and you're going to play it for us with all the descent going on. So can you just hit the play button and we'll all sit back and listen. I don't think that the commissioner be very happy about that. Paul. It was interesting call. Well, we we've been reading about it and and I know you pretty well, I doubt that. You were one of those complaining, but I would imagine you. You've been part of this league twice now What's it like? Being reunited with all your esteemed colleagues. Well, it's interesting I. Didn't realize until that first SEC meeting that we had in Birmingham this time around and I believe if I'm right coach saving, myself were the only ones. Were the only ones in the meeting that were there in whatever two, thousand nine in Tennessee won the day I took the job. So I just saw today and I realize you're your coaching football you're not in charge of the stadium, but I thought governor a few minutes ago in Mississippi governor reads announced that there would be I think twenty percent capacity that's not the big news. The big news is no tailgating. The I know that doesn't affect you as a coach, but it does affect the fans does it not? Yeah it does but you know it is what it is and You know good decision you know based off of social distancing issues in the spread. So a lot of decisions are being made like that that you know people aren't happy with, but you know people really for the most part following protocol with Corona and everyone's talking about the students. But you know I drive through downtown. I, see pictures on the Internet you know most aren't falling either so that makes it really difficult to open up the grow. Yeah I it is a big deal but know Miss Missile one season coach I on on the the more important issues of football team back we talked to you some time ago and that was before voluntary workout had had commenced how how's it feel now and what are you seeing and sensing? From your football team. What are excited to be back? We've had three practices and you know. They're always excited this time of year, but you know to have it taken away from them from Spring and then potentially not playing all at one point You can see how excited they are to be around, and so like I've said before challenges not motivating them, they're plenty motivated the challenges them having disciplined away from here. So we can stop the spread because really at the end of the day, everybody wants to lift weights. Every wants to practice run sprints and learn offense defense but. Probably the teams are win. The most games are the ones that have the least players out for the Games because of Cronin 'cause they manages well. Yeah in on that front What are you doing I mean I realize the season's five weeks away but will there be a set of protocols and precautions not not the normal safety but just to make sure that your own units don't infect each other and you're you're left going playing Alabama at home or another key game without. Critical people I know you can't avoid it, but you can also try to keep them separated to some degree or can you? Yeah, we can. You know I'm not worried about when they're here I, mean we we've got you know team meetings that we have out in indoor facility. You know with everybody spaced out and their instead of the team room you know we split our special teams means you know so we never have everybody together and so I'm not worried when they're here. You know they do a good job and we make them. You know it's it's when they're away from here and then they go into an environment of the college environment and they look around and no one's doing it. So you know it's it's difficult for a young kid. Either looted do it a couple times and I realized there's only so much coach can say but how? What means are you employing to try to drill that into their head or do they already know it and you just have to let them do whatever they they think is right. Now I mean when we talk about it all the time, Paul and you know the biggest point them. You may not feel like you matter because you're redshirt your fourteen. But you don't you don't do this right you know and you you can infect to starter. So. Or senior that you know loses part of their season or towards loses the end of their senior year. So you know it's really a big challenge. Have you sought at all because we always when we get the schedules which we did the other night you you tend to look at, Road Games home games and man this school has an advantage here or there but nobody really knows do they when you go when you go on the road and there's fifteen sixteen, seventeen, thousand people, it's not going to be the same road environment and I know you won't know until you get there but I'm just curious if someone who is coach at a lot of different places and a lot of really tough environments, what are your thoughts? Well, it's GonNa be completely different. You know definitely won't need silent count that's for sure so. We'll be in Tiger stadium into the season and you know we'll be able to to. To yell the audibles to the quarterback on the five yard line. So you know it it'll be very different I think kind of almost be eerie as you play you know for the players you know like. Lap for the SEC this would be less than a spring game. You know attendance so. it'll be very strange.

A Survivor Shares His Story of Child Sexual Abuse

"This. This is going to be a very different kind of episode. Usually we feature stories of extreme crimes crimes that thankfully are outside the realm home of most of our collective human experience but there's a crime that affects one in every five women and one in every seventy one men in this country for both sexes roughly about forty five percent of the time almost half the perpetrator is an acquaintance. The numbers numbers are staggering. There are millions of stories like this and right now. Many of you listening know exactly how real and present went and widespread the threat really is because you've experienced it firsthand. We did an episode about two years ago so ninety nine which talked about male sexual child abuse after that episode we were inundated with hundreds of phone calls and voicemails from people just like the one you're about to hear on. This episode calls never stopped. They still trickle in to this this day. Many of you were appreciative that we told those stories the way that we did allowing the survivors to share their experience in their own words. We listened to every one of those voicemails every single one many of you out. There just felt help alone. He felt like you couldn't tell anyone about these experiences. So many of you said you'd never told anyone until until now he felt shame. You felt guilt embarrassment. You're worried about what others think of you but there are millions of others out there just like you you can help them by sharing your experience so we set up a new call in line and a website. I knew no ninety nine when I was a kid This is Mike how you doing bad not bad kind of nervous to talk to you soon. Be Nervous at all. I'm just the normal person. Let me tell you something man. Dur with fans and tongue partner with some famous people and for some reason talking to you is making me nervous. Oh crap. It's Mike well like I said I'm a normal normal as normal as you can get sort of person but I just It's probably due to the subject matter. We're about to talk about. Probably we not use my name we won't we won't say your name. L. Let's talk a little bit about out you as a child us as a younger person and and you reached out to me through our our voice mail and left a message and I decided to give you a call back so let's just start kind of in the beginning and tell me what happened to you. was a neighbor. I don't WanNa say the town or anything but it was a neighbor. You know he was a teenager. He was cool. You know he was cool with everybody. Buddy in in the neighborhood and just started you know back then was four. Internet before cellphones you know kids were outside riding bikes whatever and he would come out and throw the ball around. I was little short. Fat Kid not very popular you know back then bullion was everything started hanging out with him a little bit hanging out at his house. this was in the eighties. Yes yes yes it was and when they were hanging out in his house and you know what they look back man. I don't ever remember his parents ever been around. You know it's funny because there's that common experience anybody sort of our age range that grew up in in the eighties there wasn't a lot of parental supervision not not like today where you have like helicopter parents everywhere with candidates and all that shit right right right exactly but yeah we're sitting on the couch watching TV and since I left you that message man I've been trying to remember how exactly got started but being in the eighties you know things get a little fuzzy all I. I remember his things got started in. He would take my hand. Take his junk out. Take my hand and to put on it. How old are you and how old was he. I think I was about eleven and he had to be about sixteen seventeen but you know nothing. There was no actual sex. It was all just with pants you know he touched me and I was uncomfortable so he take my hand and touch him and nothing nothing nothing nothing like that ever but it happened a couple of times. James and I quit going over there and then my mom passed. Let me back up. I'm sorry let me back up one sec so you were yet. Yes you don't remember any parents. Being around or anything like that was just two little Ki- two kids one little kid and one slightly older author can in a house and it was empty empty abandon but yeah there was the his his parents were never around. My mother was all my mother didn't work. You Know My dad worked and then my appearance went through a divorce and she was home during the day but worked at night as a bartender my mother uh-huh. I see but I don't ever remember. I don't remember his parents ever being around. Do you remember what they look like it. Did you ever see them no to tell you the truth now and I don't know if that's just my old bad memory Marie or at blocked it out or just focused on. I don't even remember details of the House and I remember details of hours but yeah I just don't remember them. I'm being around but you remember the incidence because they they stuck in there. s absolutely absolutely you know. I remember him taking my hand because it happened once on the couch and twice in his room because he had played voice Mhm You know and you know you wanna see something cool here. You go and look in take it out and start doing his thing. When you take my hand and finish you know doing his thing you mean masturbating yes death sir.

Heisman Watch: There's no stopping Jalen and Tua

"So former teammates to a tunnel by Lola and Jalen hurts continued to go toe-to-toe each week as the race for the heisman heats up last weekend to through for nearly four hundred fifty yards and five touchdowns against South Carolina meanwhile Jalen Pass for just just under three hundred yards and three touchdowns along with one hundred and fifty yards and another touchdown on the ground according to Fox too is now just a slight favourite win the heisman over the QB he replaced in Tuscaloosa joined by Fox College football analysts Reggie Bush good to have you so regret giving up on Jalen no not at all regret giving up on Jalen life is good in in Alabama real mess team and caused football really you got the best quarterback in college football guaranteed to make the playoffs even with one loss and I think even L. Obama lost two games they still figure out a way to get him in the playoffs and when to a- leaves they just going to replace him with another five star quarterback so life was good in Alabama. I don't think Nick Sabin has any reason to even worry about. Losing Jalen hurts because his quarterback has right now beat out jalen hurts for that starting starting spot and so to me when I look at the big picture because I do think Jalen hurts has the best shot out of the two to win the heisman trophy because he played the situation perfectly. He went from having to face. SEC every week to facing big twelve defenses every week which everybody knows they don't really play a lot of defense in the big twelve and so so when I look at the big picture he's going to continue to put up these kinds of numbers every week because there's not a single defense on that roster on schedule that can stop them It looks like a heisman winner to me. I thought it'd be well. No twelve zero peaks really has yet to really dupleix insignificant time in the fourth quarter. No he will regret his skip. Jalen hurts got beat up but let me tell you how much coal saving love. Jalen hurts cold all saber replace. Jalen hurts in the National Championship game against Georgia to Accom- back lease them to a victory coach. David Love Jalen hurts so much that then he puts the job up into sprees. Whoever wins it in the spring? That'll be my starting quarterback. He'd beat up to t t t t feed him out again. Okay so what I said. You know what this is my last year. I want to go play Kevin. I can't beat him about. He just beat me out last spring. I'm not going to beat him about this free so what was supposed to do he goes. He goes to Oklahoma wishing well. It's the same thing can can album commit coach saving et. Cetera compare what was going to be that Derrick Henry couldn't be that yielding couldn't beat. Andrei saw his playing time with limited he against the running back. We're talking about quarterback a a much more important. My point is if you can't be the guy out and you don't want to sit the bench. Let me go somewhere where I can play. He went to Oklahoma. WE'VE Cup Calum Murray Lift weight you skip to step who took over in one. Sec Championship game and Got Alabama to the playoffs last year. Oh okay great stay co-ceo. I'll stay if you put the job up in the spring again. Now exactly is coast was he's headed to a better

"Victoria's secret the home of the master toy catalog is going to feature trans gender models in their catalog for the first time the first openly transgender woman Valentina some bio twenty two years old and the selection was seen by some as long overdue never stop dreaming she wrote on Instagram set doesn't think anybody would have a problem with this I think that people will have a problem with this well I mean people would have a prominent after the fact if maybe they right rub one out right and then you know afterwards they read little captains like K. our first trans gendered model used to be Carl I think that might be a whole like oh boy oh oh I feel dirty calls rough name yeah I mean I don't know maybe this opens a lot of ice right this shows a lot of men that you know I can't climax to a woman the used to be a man interesting choice of verbs I look if you're using the Victoria's secret catalog for that thank you flip through and you didn't know is that a trans gender was the inspiration for your climax as my friend John so gently put it sorry was that too harsh for that all okay perfect at climaxes kick **** dude yeah man I love the climax so if you take yourself to that point and then you find out afterwards that you were inspired by Valentina some bio a trans gender I would take that as a sign that you don't need to be as close minded as you once were I mean I don't think any of us in a position to kick day trans gendered angel out of our bed you know correct label it by the way had their first transgender playmate in twenty seventeen Gina wrist Cerro a transgender woman was featured in the magazine this summer Victoria's secret is still leading lingerie brand in the US but its share of the market has fallen as it tries to keep up with the times I mean they're all kinds a newish lingerie companies out there I suppose try to get a piece of the pie are there I guess we're the upstarts the upstarts are I just saw this hold on one sec Fredericks back no there are brands that you've never heard of third love savage X. Fendi what about slots only has anybody launch that one no they have not we would be in the mall but we you know we'd be just outside of it does anybody I I mean anybody have an issue with this at all seven two seven five seven I want to two five last year by the way ed Razek the chief marketing officer of the parent organization L. brands expressed a lack of interest in casting transgender models he's retiring so this this is wrong I'm pretty sure but it would be wrong to to just have to be a whole separate catalog that kind of goes against the idea of inclusion yeah I I I I would I would say separate but equal doesn't quite work here I issues you have one transgender model so you put her in with the rest of them and you just go people are people but now like you know imagine how great if you have ten transgender model yeah all in their own no no not separate but equal my friend you cannot segregation you got integrated but what if it's you know what if it's a woman's preference or I don't like because women are really who who are you looking at these catalogs are part of the shopping process sure ultimately I don't have a lot of men probably look to see what they want to buy their lady right so either way if you decide Hey I'm I'm gonna prefer to to to stick to the more traditional yeah woman right like that you know you should have the right to choose well I mean you have the right to choose not to look at the catalog yeah I know that if you know there will be a trans gender and there are any of the mannequins in the stores gonna come with
