Judge in Rittenhouse Case Criticized Following ‘Asian Food’ Comments

"The judge in the Kyle rittenhouse case. Ordered Asian food in. I don't know for the jury for I don't know for whom, for himself. And made the following comment, you will now hear it from the judge. So this is now being played on CNN. The judge presiding over KAR rittenhouse's homicidal homicide trial made a strange and offensive joke inside the courtroom today. I want you to listen to what judge Bruce Schroeder said as the court was preparing to take a lunch break. Let's hope for one o'clock. I don't know if the Asian food isn't coming. It's on his not one of those boats and Long Beach harbor. So he appears to be referring to the supply chain backlogs caused by congestion problems in California ports. But his comments were offensive and perceived as anti Asian by some. And as placing blame on Asian people for a catastrophic event happening in this country. John Yang, the president and executive director of Asian Americans advancing justice told CNN that the joke and I quote here, harms our community and puts us in the crosshairs of microaggressions as well as actual physical violence. That's CNN as my producer just said. Where did they find us the Asian action association for justice or something? You see how they lie? I don't lying. Is not an issue to the left. The judge ordered Asian food, and made a crack, I hope it's not being delayed. In the Lake. How is that possibly anti Asian?

And thank you for the great work that you are doing. let's start with georgia and the audits. You've been doing a of work for real america's voice as an investigative reporter. Tell us what is the status of finding out what actually happened in the two thousand twenty election in the state of georgia charlie. There's actually quite a few investigations going on in georgia. The one most recently that i covered this week was A lawsuit filed by a group called voter. Gpa they're an election integrity group. That's been working in the state for over twenty years They filed the lawsuit. Too much unseal. And forensically analyze the absentee and mail in ballots in fulton. County georgia specifically. It's the exact same ballots that we saw in that state farm arena video that went viral of people scanning and ballots that they pulled out from underneath that people at one o'clock in the morning after observers were sent home well. Those ballots are the ones in question in this lawsuit and a judge so far have actually already unsealed then and what the the plaintiffs were given where the digital ballot images so every time a ballot is scanned in the voting machine Creates a digital and that is stored so they had access to those unfortunately in the resolution on images such poor quality that the forensic expert asked for a higher resolution and so where this case was a couple months ago was the judge had actually ordered that the town officials had to rescan those ballots at a higher resolution and hand them the images because georgia's secretary of state fouls degrees in his lawsuit claiming that it's anybody touch those ballots. It'd be felony. Charlie almost to try to like stop the audit from going forward and so this judges like all right. We'll working we're gonna take these people that can legally handle those ballots and we're gonna make them re skin them at a higher resolution so this case went back to court on monday and the attorney representing fulton. County is gonna georgia's talk criminal. Defense attorney is a guy named don samuel who tiny white collar criminal defense course at georgia university but then thinking right so he started saying that. The georgia bureau of investigation. The secretary of state office had already done an investigation and and there was no fraud like nothing was found and was basically trying to say you know grant my motion to dismiss this case. Will the judge said. Can you cite the report. Is anybody in this courtroom. Have any report from the secretary of state office. The georgia bureau investigation on anything. They've done that pertains to essentially counterfeit balance. Nobody had any answer. So the judge pause this lawsuit and is giving the secretary's day gb. It's not a book club of afford to that. Our kids first day of school was today We do it the good old fashioned American way out here in the Southwest Metro, which is the day after Labor Day is when you go back. I have to tell you this quickly, though. I get home yesterday after the Labor Day show, and Lou had gone over to her friends for, like, a little bit of barbecue. So I come home. I laid out on the couch for a few minutes just to sort of re energize. And then as I'm on my way out the door to go to this Labor Day party I look and there is a sheet of paper. And it says at the top last day of summer fun now, my daughter Adeline had told me the day before what time we go to the barbecue because we plan to really squeeze a lot of things in tomorrow. So you guys are going over at four. So then I see this checklist. I posted this on my instagram at KSTP, Steve. But here's how it reads Listen to this day of squeezing out the last drops of summer, Okay? 11 a.m. to 11 30, Chuck. 11 30 to 11 55 ring toss and prizes. I don't know where these prices are coming from. 11 55 to 12 05 bubbles. Here's what? I don't know what it means. 12 05 to 12 20 White Fang Bo Chang that its summit. It sounds sort of sketchy. "Best piece of advice? You would give a kid starting school? Yeah, based on your experiences. And, uh, as you as you make those comments if it's if it's earmarked for a specific age or a specific grade you go well, maybe I'm focusing on college. Let me know what that would be. 85561616 20. Accurate mortgage talking texting. Like I said before, I've I started doing this every spring around graduation time, and I thought, Well, sometimes hey, look, advice is just as valuable now, when you getting going In school. Or starting a new school year as it is when you're leaving and you're heading out to tackle the next adventure in life. 85561616 20. Jason is in Sheboygan. Alright, Jason. What is your word of wisdom? Your advice for the kids? I'm going to focus on the high school age and mine would be that these four years Will not define who you are or your future. Amen to that Because I've seen it. I've been a teacher now, 26 years at the high school level, and I remember being in high school. If it's going good for you. Now, if you're a star quarterback, it doesn't mean your life is going to be peaches and cream. And if you're struggling now, that doesn't mean you can't get up and look up and never give up and something could be better in the future. Four years are very important. Don't ever think they define you. And that's my best advice. Still, yes, That's really good, Jason, because in the moment when you're in high school It's it. It feels as if whatever happens in these four years is going to set me on my trajectory for the rest of my life. And it's not until you age and you get older and you look back and you think back on that specific four year window and and I don't know about you, Jason, but I go That was like a blip on the radar. That was just a little snippet of time. Yeah, but you're right. So that's what his high school people feel like. It's like If they're straws. They and their parents are divorced and just really struggling or like I'm not going to be nothing in life, and that's what I always try to tell them. This is just a four year blimp. Enjoy the best you can, but you can. You can always change and Things will get better if you work hard at it. I really believe in that. That's great. And I hope you share that with your students. You do that I imagine every year, every area that's great. I mean, cool. Thanks, Jason. I appreciate the car. That's great advice. But in that right, though, in the moment man high school, I got an exam or man, We got a big game this weekend or there's a big meat coming up or what, or when there's a big concert. A couple people in text line, so don't forget about US band geeks. You have something that just this is the biggest thing in your life. And in the moment it feels that way and man this performance or this tester, this exam is really going to It's not that big a deal. I mean, in the moment it feels that way. But in the grand scheme of things, it's not. That doesn't mean you don't take it seriously and and put all you can't into it to succeed, But Other side of the coin like Jason said, when things aren't going well, and maybe you really are struggling in those high school years with any number of issues, whether it's bullying or problems at home or problems. You know academically. That doesn't set you on a course for trouble. It doesn't It doesn't define you. As Jason said so. So very well. Danny is in West Allis. Hello there, Danny. Hey, Steve. How you doing? I'm well, I'm well. So is Scott. So give me some advice for kids. Danny, what you got Well for starting college, plain and simple. Number one. Just remember that what you experience in high school is going to be 100% different from what you experience in college, so don't take any crap. Make sure that you schedule all your classes to start afternoon and plain and simple. Enjoy yourself, because it's going to be the best four years of your life, whether you realize it then or you realize it later. I'm I. You know what, Danny? I don't disagree with anything You said, because it was the best four years of my life. We're talking college here. However, I do. I have to have to take umbrage with one thing. I was a morning I was a morning person. So for me, Danny. I wanted all my classes done by noon or done by one oclock. Give me the eight a.m. class. But if I could clear my week after 12 or 12 30 Monday through Friday Then I'm a happy man. Okay. I can understand that. The reason why I scheduled mind for later was being a musician. Even even back then I was doing gigs until two a.m.. Yeah. So okay, trying to wake up for an eight a.m. class. That was not going to happen. And I missed about probably 80% of my freshman classes. And so then I got smart my shop more year I went ahead and I scheduled everything. We're starting at noon or one o'clock. Had no problems had classes until you know, four or five in the evening. Whatever. I joined every single club. I was part of everything. When I was in high school, I was just a nerdy Classically trained piano player living in a farming community. So you know that I was really popular and, well, that's when I got into college when I got into college all of a sudden I was cool. Yeah, I see it. And I was getting women actually paying attention to me for a change Everything, chip. Thanks, Danny. Everything changed. Everything changed? Yeah. If we're gonna now, you know, look at, um The college years. We're looking at the college years here, um, get involved. Be active, get involved. That's good advice and everything. Changes after high school college completely different experience. Trust me more of the Steve Skiff ET show next on WTMJ..

LA Dodgers Beat Padres in the Longest MLB Game of the Year

"The dodgers held the padres hitless from the sixth to the fourteenth inning. Basically a nine inning. No hitter ramona. And the game had everything else. Besides though hitter and everything i mean i like i feel like i need a day off to recover from that like i literally watching a lot of the game then i was like you know what i gotta get my workout in. I'm gonna go for a swim. And i'm gonna try to come back. It'll it'll you know. I'll come back for the ending and then it was another two hours. After that i went for all workout swim and came back was still going like that. Even the last two innings were ridiculous. Weird things happened. So many yeah. Aj pollock was the hero again. this is how. Aj basically ended it in the sixteenth inning. At one o'clock in the morning to canada's appalled deep center the dodgers actually had taken the lead in the top of the fifteenth. Fernando with the weirdest homerun. You may see all year. Hit the ball to right field. Chris taylor leapt up to catch it off his glove and went out for a home run. That tied the game three and then. Aj wins at five three. Same two teams tonight in san diego max scherzer on the mound for the dodgers as they go for the sweep and the padres are on life support now. If the season ended today they'd be completely out of the play offs and they still have to play with in the remaining thirty five games left momo the giants ten times

Okay, uh, I'm gonna have to just time you come back then Why don't you just condense it? Condense it a little bit. Do your best their accountants. What do you got? It's like Three weeks from tomorrow. The 25th our gospel fast got rained out the 1st 1st of the month. So we rescheduled live and what kind of racing is that? Well, it's it's not racing racing the gospel. It's gospel quartets, racing to God, It's the best music this side of heaven. I tell you what it is. Do you sing gospel? I don't sing. I couldn't carry a tune on a whole. Um Oh, I bet you pretty much but I mean it is And it's pretty big deal. Gospel fest 25th. Well, how do they? How do you set that up here? Actually, we got the stage right behind you. It's kind of all put together right now. But we spread it out. We got a stage and we got plenty of chairs under the pavilion and rain or shine. It's all right out here. Yeah, we just had storms last month is the reason we could so as acquires as a quartets. What do you got? He's uh Other Jim Warner here in town, actually put that together and there's groups. Uh, there's solos. There's quartets, There's group There's there's the men's choir. Whether it's a story of Joseph the You know, I just remember all these stories that we were seeing it. I just enjoyed that That's and that's in three weeks from tomorrow, three weeks in Nord 25th. We do a lot of things out here for for charity, community type stuff. Uh, next month, the first weekend we've got trained night We're gonna have a big strain parade with all the units and everything normally track before the races. And then a big one that we have in September is the I know you have the longest day, uh, project the Alzheimer's Association. Fantastic. I mean, we've all been touched by somebody that's had that. We have the out of darkness walk here at the speedway to raise awareness for suicide prevention. And there's anywhere from 2 to 3000. People come out and walk on the track, and they put crosses and actually the neat thing and it's almost a piece of art. And this year I'm going. I'm going to have a drone once they're done. "Hours to fill it. And this is Parkinson's law when it comes to the amount of work, and now we know the exact amount of time we are supposed to spend at work, Research says. Okay, so the answer The latest answer, Uh, well said Well, said Tom. Is five hours that there is They suspension a style six hour working day, and they had this, uh, company try it out. And they said, Yeah, six hours didn't really work. Five hours is what's ideal and the reason they say five hours his ideals because that's the most That humans can concentrate on any one thing that you could make. If you just zero just spent five hours lunch break, just that's about the max of what we're capable of doing. Now. You can see that out over eight hours, which is what most of us probably end up doing, but to think that we can debate more than five hours. Is, um, they say, doubtful. It doesn't all the tests seem to be the other way and a way that the way your computer sounds right now I'm going to assume that your workday is going to be about 38 minutes, Tom, because, um Jacob. You in there trying to fix Tom sort of robotic voice. Yeah, we're going to need you to disconnect and reconnect. Sorry about the old disconnect, Reconnect. Oh, turn it off! Turn it back on again. Oh, what does that mean? You mean disconnect? I don't know. I'm gonna shut down my time on. Sounds good. Okay? Yeah, And then I'll and I'll be back in or do you want me to work for a message first? Well, this is working. Yeah, OK, dude, I'm going to disconnect and I'm gonna and I'm going to wait for your text to let me know if I should thank you. Okay. In the meantime, in the meantime, John work away five hours I sent it. Yes, I will work away. In the meantime, I sent Jacob a bunch of pictures. Did you enjoy my photos? I sent you, Jacob. Hopefully you did. That's right. Yeah, Yeah, there's there's three of them. There's two different kinds of guns. And then your experience with, uh, actually, I just I just posed these post these all online. Please do. I have to say that I got my eye fixed. Um, over there at K two vision, and I am now I can hit the side of a barn. I'll tell you that. Although, um, what I've noticed is people that know a lot about guns aren't really good about giving you a lot of instructions about guns like I have a shotgun and the thing of dislocates my shoulder every time I shoot it when I asked somebody What am I supposed to do about that? They go just grin and Barrett and then you just sit there and you get this giant bruise and your shoulder but yesterday went up into this here. You went up into clear Ellen Tom and fired off. I don't know how many rounds of ammunition that was just the best the best and I kept thinking. Cobb should be up here. Get yourself in at V time. Come on up and yes, and and we'll get you some guns and you can just shoot them all day long. It feels like something that needs to be done on your side. All right back to the five hours. These guys are the research, and they said that too much time. You can't concentrate long enough. But just about five hours the amount of capacity to get good work anything beyond that stuff starts to get sloppy. You make mistakes and people actually stop actually. Doing work. Yes, Business of this research study shows that there are downsides even to the primo hour work week they didn't discovered is that if five hours to get things so let's say you get in the opposite eight and you leave it one. You don't worry about a lunch break. You don't take any just work work work. They said that for a lot of the employees They end up feeling more expressed you think? Oh, wow. You got three extra hour of the day to yourself, private, you know, wished, But they said, because everything is so concentrated. You feel this pressure. I can't afford I by one oclock all this kind of stuff done, And they said they realized that some employees Appreciate a little, you know, give time. Okay, I need to get this. I can get this done hours or six hours of seven hours. But the training the fibers is actually goes against the whole point of working. Only five hours is for your will that you're healthier that you feel better about it. But they realized that maybe 55 might be ideal for your mess concentration, but it's not ideal for your psychological If you feel like you're under the gun all the time and you're constantly doing And so that's that's one of the concerns that they have, and they've done studies to establish that. They also said a lot of jobs can't be done. You know, Five hours like right? The key to five. Our jobs is the use of creativity Well, the probe. There are a lot of jobs that don't donate bridge or don't require creativity and in those kinds of jobs, increase your productivity stood. Five hours works for at least people that can use the creativity because they can cram everything in in five hours, But if you're working in an assembly line kind of job, just sort of metaphor. You're not going to be able to work that much faster on the line to get all your work done because the key is He wants to do this in productivity drops. This has to be the productivity not only is the same and then leave it. Actually, there's evidence that it increases but they're only certain jobs increase and other jobs. You can't you can't drive a Boston and say, Let's five hours, everybody off. I'm getting out of body. I drove a truck in New York City and the guy that hired us said I don't want you on the road any longer than you have to be on the road, because every minute you're on the road, you're either going to run into somebody or someone's going to run into you. The traffic so bad in New York City Yeah. So they said, if you can get your work done and do all your deliveries in four hours or five hours or less, we will pay you for eight hours. But then he also said that doesn't mean your speed because that was the thing that happened, then you realize Oh, hell. Just get going that well, that was like you'd be better off driving slow for eight hours, right?.

"Let's talk a little bit about south florida because We're still waiting on a department of the interior decision to move on with this Seminal compact and find out what the actual effects are going to be on the rooms here in south florida Joe you said You heard some conversations that some things are opening up and it could lead to some increased hours for a lot of these rooms down here right. I wasn't aware of this. But i was made aware of our meeting managers meeting earlier this week. Where you know the deal wi- approves the pact and decoupling becomes. You know as soon as they approve it decoupling becomes an effect and if they don't then decoupling doesn't come into effect but if it does that allows the casinos to now open. Twenty four seven and You know that's a big game changer. Especially for for the para mutuals down here. That have the machines in miami dade and broward so I had no idea. I don't know if you knew that. Dave or not that. That's a that's a big big big. You know revenue services and everything else and for employment issues to to be honest with a needle bigger staff to be able to be open. Those extra you know. What is it. thirty hours a week. And how you plan this. Let me ask you this Obviously casino gambling. There's a benefit to that. You got machines you might have a few slot attendants or or people that you may have to put on. What is the viability of being open. Twenty four hours in a poker room down here in south florida. Well let me tell you something. Dave my room and i don't believe there's any other rooms down here that are open. You know all twenty four hours on the weekend Which was the case since ever since machines came in you were allowed to open twenty four hours starting on friday and coincidentally this past weekend. You know the fourth of july celebrate you know. The the legal holiday was celebrated on monday. That day also goes into its on this past weekend. Rooms down here opened at You know nine or ten. Whatever they're opening time is and didn't have to close until tuesday morning at four o'clock or three depending on their time and now that it opens it up. You know my room was open it back. You know when. I first opened this room and we did really good business. I four in the morning. All my good dave at six in the morning i i'd have four or five tables running kidding. Yes sir yes sir. On on a saturday morning you'd go in there. And even on a sunday. When i started running a ten thousand dollar guaranteed tournament you know. It was so nice. Because i increased my my morning table usage. You know by at least a table too and my tournaments would always start at about one o'clock. If i'm if i remember correctly and i'd have eight nine. You know on a sunday nine tables ten tables running live yes. I'd lose five six seven of 'em you know. Keep two or three live but as the game you know as people got knocked out of the tournament didn't want to reenter you. Know those tables bills up again. And you know we did very very decent revenue. It was worth it for us to keep those rooms open. You know and I don't believe there's anybody now doing that. In in in our competitors here. I'm not sure about broward. You'd have to let me know about brower. You know but but yeah you know we definitely it was well worth it. You know Like i said at six seven in the morning and every now. And then i'd go in just to see how everything was running in the room and again four five tables running at six between six and seven in the morning i'd ask and the deal is that i had to schedule. "This is wet notes here on scuba shock radio for sunday july fourth two thousand and twenty one first up today i wanna talk about re fest two thousand and twenty one this october. The reef environmental educational foundation will again be holding refenced from thursday october fourteenth to sunday october. Seventeenth in key largo. That's four days of some great activity. The festivities kickoff on thursday. And one o'clock. You can then get a couple of days of diving in on friday and saturday morning with a two tank dive from either key divers amaury dive resort or essence. Those charters run about ninety dollars and they go out at eight am. If you wanna do a kayak tour you could also do that. For sixty dollars with florida bay outfitters. There are seven afternoon workshops and seminars and activities at john pennekamp park the coral reef restoration foundation. The history of diving museum and the florida keys. Wild bird sanctuary. Wow this sounds like a great event. Unfortunately i won't be able to make it down due to a family obligation but this sounds really good. Be sure to check out repressed. That's reef fest. Two thousand twenty one on their website. Well who watches the tv. Show curse of oak island. I think matt has watched every episode. And i think they're still searching for treasure but i came across an interesting article about one of the guys on the show. I guess tony sampson had a strange situation happen about a year ago tony's frequently on the show and he runs a tour company called salty door. Salty dog tours. Well he was taking some tourists out when one of his guests hat blew off so quickly turned the boat around to fetch the hat. And that's when he spotted something else a voter in the water. Apparently the boater was on his maiden voyage with this new boat when it capsized and he couldn't get to his life jacket because it was tied to the boats seat ono so tony fortunately rescued the voter in what is called the oak island triangle triangle. I guess the boat subsequently washed up on oak island now at least those guys found something there about a year ago. Olympus announced that they were getting out of the digital imaging business and that they would not be making cameras any longer and that would have been a shame if these Tech this technology went by the wayside. I really liked my Olympus t g six. well don't worry. A new company named 'em digital solutions is producing the old olympics. Cameras binoculars audio gear. They took over in january. Two thousand twenty one. Their website is get olympus dot com. Now if you want to know more about the company checkout oem dash digital solutions dot com. This company is based out of tokyo. And it's led by sha guinea saga motto all digital solutions employees about two thousand people with evaluation of twenty seven billion yen or about three hundred and thirty three million. Us dollars the oem comes from the nineteen seventies oem solutions that they put in place to make cameras smaller more rugged and quieter. This is great news especially for us olympus fans. Here's some sobering news out of florida. The manatees are under stress as of june fourth. This year. Seven hundred and eighty two manatees have died in two thousand twenty one alone and that's a one hundred and fifty one percent increase from the three hundred and thirty one that died during the same period last year to put this in perspective. The record number of deaths for manatees in a year is eight hundred. Twenty one or eight hundred and twenty four and that was in two thousand eighteen. This increase is so dramatic that representative vern buchanan from florida wrote a letter to the us fish and wildlife services to change their status from threatened to endanger and that's the highest level of protection here in the us. The florida manatee used to be on the endangered list until two thousand and seventeen when their numbers rose. Above six thousand six hundred they now estimate a census of about seventy five hundred but as we can see that number is going in the wrong direction. Now what's the cause food availability. The seagrass is being killed off by oversaturation of nutrients and the manatees simply. Starve to death. Not sure how a change in status will solve the sad scenario but we need to start someplace. Well it's summer. And i know that a lot of people like to catch up on summer reading while they're on vacation we'll scuba diving. Magazine just published a list of books that you might consider in their armchair adventure section. A couple of book stood out. One of them was in oceans deep courage innovation and adventure beneath the waves. And that's written by bill steve. And it's a history of our underwater presence. He covers submarines saturation diving and recreational gear. Bill also goes into the impacts of aro vs versus in-person exploration. You can pick up this book in ocean deep for about fifteen dollars in paperback. Now the second book is exploration deep ocean the first descent to the bottom of all five of the world's oceans and it's written by josh young. The book covers the exploits of victor scovill and his team on their history-making mission. You can find this book in hardcover for a little over twenty one dollars time to kick back with some good summer reading and finally here on wet note if you're a collector of vintage gear or want to start mark your calendar for the vintage scandal auction on july seventeenth. The auction is run by the nation's attic and you can register at live. Auctioneers dot com now. The auction starts at ten. Am central standard time. You can go to the site now and take a peek at all the cool stuff you can also register embiid early. The first part of the auction folks who focuses on vintage scuba gear from the nineteen forties to the nineteen seventies things like regulators knives mask cetera. Then it switches to maritime artifacts and closes out with the really expensive stuff. Those classic military commercial hardhats. I missed the last one. Because i was out diving. But we'll definitely try to tune into this next one get set up early and register. It moves pretty quickly when when the auction goes off. And don't miss out on that special piece of scuba history. Well that's it for wet notes. For sunday fourth two thousand and

Twitter For List Building With Madalyn Sklar

"One of the things that i saw of is interesting about twitter is would you say it's the place where people really build a personal brand stronger than a business brand so like we are robin kennedy on there as opposed to anything else How does that work. Yeah you can definitely build a very large personal brand on twitter. So it's a level playing field so it allows you to be able to connect with people in in showcase yourself who you are what you do with everyone else on there. So everybody's kind of the same when they're starting at listen. We all started zero when we're on twitter and any other social networks so it's what you do from there to build up. That's really important. What i really love about twitter as well is. It's the fastest moving. Which means the deepest connections can be made fastest. Because it's a fast food. It's not like facebook. You put a thing up and then at some point in the next three weeks someone see your post and will get involved in the conversation. The comments onto an the reply reply reply reply. It's the closest thing to sms text messaging but with otherwise unreachable people which is really awesome so we get people on twitter. And that's lovely then. What we really want to do is move them from twitter to email platform. Because there's a place for being discovered and starring relationships like on onto it and then we want to move over to to all. We can do some deep nurturing nurturing so why some some of the strategies that we can be using an definitely want to know some of the mistakes that people make tried to shift people across as well but how do we even be game thinking about shifting people from twitter to our email list. Well greg question first and foremost you've got to get people to know like and trust you. Nobody's going to pay attention to you. Do anything that you say like. Hey come join my email is. Here's a lead magnet here something great. They're not gonna care if they don't get to know you firs- they like you they see you're likable and trust that you're not going to spam them right so you've got to work on relationship building. I and you know we all know the power of twitter chats as an amazing way to do that right just spinning some time connecting with people getting to know them and sharing your expertise and next thing you know. They're following you and they see hey. This person has a free pdf. I could sign up for and now you're getting them into your email. Listen starting that funnel. So it's really important to spend time nurturing community on twitter. You got you got. You can't just post you can't make it a one way street too. Many people too many brands too many of everyone is out there. Just me me me. Let me just post my stuff and not do anything else. You have to be on there and listen and jump into conversations and talk to people. It's incredibly important okay. Let's talk about jumping into conversations. The think will also go along the idea of and talk about twitter chats and that really means and how how we can take advantage of them later. But how do you like. Someone's having a conversation. You can see this a better crack going on between some people. How do you jump in now without being that so of dickhead. The party just like nobody likes just right then. Tell us what's going on. We don't want to be that drunken buffoon how do we. How do we not be that person yet. Still insert ourselves conversations. Well you can go in and ask a question just kind of slowly immerse yourself into it and not just like hey here i am coming out with me or add value to whatever. The conversation is if you go in and add value. That's really the best thing you can do. But before you do that. I do a quick audit of your twitter account. Make sure you're always good. Make sure you have a great photo a headshot something so that because what happens is once you start jumping in and doing this regularly. The first thing someone's going to do is go. Look at your profile. They're going to be who madeleine. Sklar what is she talking about. Why should i check her out. Why should i follow her. So you really need to have a great profile so it's really best to spin a little time on that. I just do a quick audit. Make sure everything looks good. Make sure you got your dot com if you gotta lead magnet get like a bit link and put that in your bio you know. Hey here's my my free whatever. Xyz and then the link. There's this misconception that you can't put multiple links in your twitter bio and you can you don't want to clutter it up with too many links but you definitely want here. Dot com in the space for the dot com but in your bio is a great strategy to put a small short-leg to yearly maintenance somewhere. If you you investigated using something linked tree or one of the of the plethora of programs for doing that or do you just like a couple of things that go directly to that results than you know really depends on what you're if you've got a lot of resources i think link tree is great for that and is definitely something that can be worth dealing I personally prefer doing billy link when i have some kind of special lead magnet and of even gone a step above that i have a custom. Bit link That you can do. Mine is since my last name is sklar is clearly so sklar dot l. y. And they can be slashed. Whatever i want to be which is super cool. I learned about it years ago. When jay baer was on my twitter smarter podcasts and he was talking about custom. Billy links which is something nobody talks about. Everybody knows about billy to get shorten links. Nobody talks about. Hey you can go. purchase You know something dot l. y. And and jay baer was like you should get your last name. You should be like scholarly. That would be so cool so i ended up doing it and it's been really unique so i use that quite a bit flip. Love licensed probably candidate think belong actually will url honest but we definitely. We've definitely thought about that. So i love that so so we can go in these conversations that we see happening. I suppose the first thing to do is we give some kind of volley that might be saying. Oh he not disagreeing with people and being offensive and stop but we want be in there going. I've done it this way. Add to the conversation. Don't take away from me really important. Just standard be nice stuff People check out your profile. Boston really great okay. A great way again people from a profile now that they're on your profile over lead magnet is bit links short links delete mandates great stuff. Now you mentioned this wonderful thing about until about a year and a half ago. I had never heard of a twitter chat or a tweet chat or a tweet. Our as many names for these things in case anybody's thinking what the hell are you talking about doing this. So of synopsis of what one of these things is absolutely so twitter. Chat is a great way twitter to bring like minded people together so for instance. I host the twitter smarter twitter so every thursday afternoon at one o'clock eastern whole bunch of us just converge on twitter for one hour it revolves around the hashtag. You just gotta make sure you pull up that hashtag and you'll see all the tweets around the hashtag and it just connects you really cool people in there so many twitter chats out there. There's so many different topics and interests so I have found it to be hands down the best way to connect with people on. Twitter is great for relationship building. I've met so many amazing people from this. I met you guys from there So yeah twitter chats is definitely the way to go. I recommend finding some that look interesting. Check them out and become a regular on some of these and try to commit a few hours each week. They're typically one hour away. Each week is typical twitter chat. Yeah most of all like a weekly event. They're like well. I know that every thursday. There's the one. I know that we have our own. Which is email our hashtag. Email every every thursday three. Pm eastern eight pm uk. Time for us. I'm on their throwing questions at people and they're really good. So if if somebody wants to participate in this one of these twitter hours or email in one of these twitter chats what's the best way they can leverage that to build their email list without being obnoxious person in the room saying hey buy from me. How can we participate in those things with and still be cool. Yes it'll be effective such a great question so back to your twitter profile. Be absolutely sure you've got some kind of lead magnet available. Make it really easy for people when they go to your profile to see it. Another strategy is to have a pen. Tweeden and penn tweets great feature on twitter. We can take any tweet. You have out there. And in the settings you can click to pin it stays at the top so someone comes your profile and they they're looking at your bio. They're looking at your lovely pitcher. The very first tweet is going to be. That pen tweeted to your most recent so make sure that tweet is something that kit. They could easily sign up for your manage and get them into your funnel. So when you're on a twitter chat and you're conversing with people and they go look at your profile. They'll easily see all that information. But what you wanna do on the twitter chat is you wanna get on their provide value. You don't want to get on there. They hey sign up for my free thing you wanna get on there and just answer the questions that are being discussed with your take on show that you have expertise and then engage with the guests engage with the host of the

50- Deplatforming and Section 230

"You know there's a lot of things going on in the world but because trump is not an office. I actually don't have a good idea of what we're gonna talk about today so. Please tell me what we're gonna talk about well. We are actually an attack a bit more about trump because seems to linger here. But i thought you when i would talk about that. Subject of d platforming. Oh okay. that's interesting all right. So on tuesday february ninth. Trump's second impeachment trial began the senate. I decided fifty six to forty four. Vote that a former president can in fact stand trial for impeachment even after having left office and that trial move very quickly house. Impeach managers who serve as the prosecution team showed us some dramatic images and videos of what happened on january six when trump supporters attacked the capital and delayed congress's certification of the election. Remember there was just one single charge or article of impeachment against trump and that was for inciting insurrection. Representative jamie raskin was the lead manager and in his closing argument. He said it's now clear beyond doubt that trump supported the actions of the mob. And so he must be convicted. It's that simple. He was not. The trial ended on saturday february thirteenth now. A majority of the senate did vote to convict trump including seven republican senators. But the fifty seven to forty three vote. Fell short of what the constitution requires. And that's a two-thirds majority are fifty seven. The nays are forty. Three two thirds of the senators president not having guilty. The senate judges responded donald. John trump former president united states is not guilty as charged the article peach birth now trump was acquitted of that single charge of inciting the capital attack on january six and because of the acquit all. The senate never held a vote on disqualifying trump from office. So he's free to run for president in two thousand twenty four trump's the first president to be impeached twice and the first to be tried after leaving office and for that he makes history. But i'd like us to return to the riot at the capitol just one more time for a different perspective to look at the link between what happened in washington and what happened online. Theoretically come ready. let's do it so remember that. Many of the writers came directly from president. Trump's save america rally that began that morning on the ellipse. That's the park near the white house. And trump had addressed the crowd with some fiery language but it was elsewhere that really mattered for weeks and really for months trump had been on social media especially on twitter and facebook with false claims that there had been election fraud and that he not biden had won the election. And if you look back now you can see pretty. Clearly how much. Social media was tangled up in the events of january sixth so first barriers around the capital were breached by his supporters around one o'clock that day in about an hour later riders broke into the building and some of them started scaling.

"Major league baseball announcing this afternoon. A revised two thousand twenty one spring training schedule with times. Cactus league teams like the reds are gonna play twenty. Eight came across thirty days with two off days and grapefruit. League clubs will play a regionalized scheduled. To mitigate travel afford the reds. They will start now. A day later than was originally planned reds playing the indians in goodyear on february the twenty eighth. We are sixteen days away from that. They'll have a day off on saturday march. Sixth on monday march twenty second. Finish up the cactus league on monday. March twenty ninth. They'll have to off days and then open the season in cincinnati against the saint. Louis cardinals a lot of these games we are. I think used for the most part spring training games taking place during the day and they've had more games at night in recent years certainly the last decade since they moved to arizona. I as a sarasota and before then plant city. The number of night games was typically pretty small. And there's been a few more. In recent years there are more for instance that first week of games. They played two games during the day and then four games at six o'clock mountain time. Eight o'clock here and then after that one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fifteen games in spring training which is not usual in fact. I'm looking here at their home games during the week pretty much. All of their home games are going to be at night. They have three saturday home games and then they have to. One o'clock games that are played during the day. And my guess here is. Maybe and i haven't looked at this. Because i'm kind of doing this on the is you could probably tell his night games against the indians to this year facility with but i wonder if that's in part because they want the indians to go and not travel as much so they're gonna play day games. I don't know but nonetheless more night games than usual but the date you care about. First game is against cleveland in goodyear february. The twenty eighth twenty. Cactus league games and thirty days there remains the possibility that cactus league games at least in the early going are gonna be five innings or seven innings. Just because there's not going to be as many guys in camp. At least at the outset we will see we will see sixteen days between now and and

"See that precept chance increase, though, and you can clearly know where our next system is that we have an upper lever up full upper level. Area of low pressure that's going to move into the state, a cold front that will eventually move in very late tonight and then through the overnight hours, and that's actually going to produce the potential for maybe a light, scattered shower or light wintry mix, and you can clearly not that here on our future cast model by one oclock Cloud cover will be in and out. We will manage to squeeze out a few rays of sunshine and then by around six o'clock notice here in our far Western communities. Closer to the Indiana and Illinois State line. That's where we see the first of those lighter showers. We could see. Maybe if you sleep pellets mixing in near Lafayette, near northern Indiana, but notice here Even heading into late this evening. That shower opportunity will be very spotty in nature, So not everybody will pick up on that chance late tonight. Eight o'clock 32 degrees, mostly sunny skies. Increasing cloud covered by noon 38 degrees and then 44 by five with a mostly cloudy sky, and everybody should return to the forties. Today, there could be a few spots again. Coming close to 50 degrees 51 in Evansville, 44 in Indianapolis this afternoon 40 in South Bend 38 degrees in Chicago tonight that chance of the light. Sprinkle our light wintry mix not out of the question. Just remember it will be very spotty and even isolated in nature with our overnight lows tonight, falling to the low thirties, so it's going to get a bit colder once that Front passes through the state, 32 in South Bend early tomorrow morning 30 in Indianapolis, 33 in Chicago. And then during the day on Friday, temperatures will only manage to warm to the upper 30. So it is going to be a colder afternoon 30 Eights and Indianapolis 36 South Bend 35 in Chicago, and that front notice the big bulk of precipitation well, east of us right behind that, with some wraparound moisture. We could see a light, wintry mix or a light snow shower out of this, but We're not anticipating any accumulation. It's looking like a greater day. Also a bit breezy as well. You'll notice here later on in the afternoon when conditions will begin to crank up here. So these air gusts At around three o'clock in the afternoon. Come Friday around 25 to 30 MPH. Luckily Friday evening, we'll start to see those subside heading through this upcoming weekend that scattered light snow shower chance on and off through the day on Saturday, Also through the day on Sunday as well, we could see very minor snowfall accumulations from this. Luckily early next week, we should see that exit the state and again snowfall accumulation. Nothing really, too. Over the top with this, I think very minor, most of us just shy of that inch mark. About it happening here in Indianapolis and then up near South Bend, possibly pushing that one inch mark weekend forecast 36 Saturday. A few scattered light snow showers. 32 Sunday Chapman heating and cooling eight day forecast does call for temperatures even through next week to remain in the thirties near seasonal by Tuesday, and I sleep mixed possible, then mid to upper thirties by Wednesday and Thursday of next week, Hanna found. Great staff. Good morning, everybody right now. It's smooth sailing a nice, easy, quiet drive. If you're on 65, just south of the sun. Split. "As you said it was terrorism, terrorism, But on the other hand, my prayer and my hope, and it's not happening so far is that somehow the Democrat leadership If you will would accept victory. By trying to put as much of this behind us as we can and celebrating who we really are as Americans and bring healing and peace. And at this point they are not doing that even though Even though they know that there's no way they can bring this to the Senate before the inauguration. It seems to be especially on the part of the House of Representatives and Nancy Pelosi, Revenge. And the unity and the healing of the American people be damned, and that's that's so sad. Yeah, I've wondered Fan on the timing. I mean, practically speaking. I think the earliest the Senate comes back in is the 19th correct unless all 100 of them agree to come back. Right. Jordan touched on this. The Senate is currently in pro form a session and they they got into that posture J by unanimous consent, and that is important because in order to come back before January, 19th They would have to put forward another unanimous consent or the president would have to request their session for purposes of an impeachment trial. Obviously, that's not gonna happen quickly enough. So the only way they could get back in a posture to begin the trial is unanimous consent of the United States and I'm of the Senate. I'm with Jordan on this. I don't think that is going to happen. So realistically, that means they reconvene on the 19th. And even if the House and the Senate both moved very quickly to fulfill their role in the process of getting those managers sent over to present the articles, the soonest a trial would start. In that scenario. J is January 20th at one oclock after Joe Biden has been inaugurated, and by the way after the two Georgia senators are seated as well, That's probably gonna happen sometime shortly after January. The 15th so they would be seated there assume that the Senate came formally back into session so again to Jordan's point about the timing of this could all be over on January, 20th. If they were to wait. Until then it would obviously extend out further and if they were to wait to the 100 days into the administration you're talking about. May J. I sure hope this comes to an end before May. You know that's interesting here is that I think was January 20th, Jordan. We sat down in the Senate chambers to begin maybe was the 21st the actual impeachment last year. This is a very different case, though, and a very different argument being made there in the situation previously remember it was about a phone call to the president of Ukraine. And there was all kind of executive privilege issues and executive power and separation of powers. And what's the authority of the President? United States on international affairs? This is and we were successful in that impeachment. This case is different Jordan in the way they have drafted this article. That's right. And remember, then it was a completely partisan impeachment, not a single Republican in the House of Representatives joined the impeachment vote, so from the start, it was already flawed. When you look at impeachment, said no president has actually been convicted in impeachment trial. And when you look back in history of the there's only one case where someone where impeachment was still going when they were, uh Hey, had resigned from office, and ultimately the Senate just drop the case because they were no longer in office. That was a judge. That judge of federal judge is different the president because of what comes with being a former president you It's not just the yearly stipend, but it's also the Secret Service protection, a very large travel stipend as well for the rest of your life, and so along that secret service, But it's also again that ability to run but But I think the difference here is you would see not a ton. But some Republicans support in the house for for this kind of direct impeachment. This resolution specifically, and these are this one article. If you will, and then we know that there's some support in the U. S. Senate. Or this. We don't know that they could get to 17 Republicans, and I think it becomes much tougher as you get into if they try to do this. Well, let's job. I let him be president. Without this hangover for 100 days ended when he's basically got everything figured out. We'll shut down the business of the country because that's what happens if you all remember folks. And we'll just have a trial in the US Senate of a former presidents were gonna be Donald Trump back up to the forefront again. Do you think about that? As one as a Democrat? Is that the best strategy it is it really worth it? If it's very difficult to get to 67, the history has shown that And then to to put the country through that we're still going to be dealing with Cove. It we're still going to be dealing with a lot of business is hurting. We're still going to be dealing with trying to Get past this incident that occurred and trying to heal the nation. So this restart that whole conversation again. And act like we could just wait for 100 days, go back to kind of normal and then come right back to that to me. It's just It's just very bizarre. And they're not thinking this through a zey kind of as a movement. All right, we're taking. We're taking a break. When we come back. We're gonna have your questions and comments and also encouraged to share that if you're on and we're social media.
