"And you know, you put a great effort, and I wanna ask you about the fight here in a second. But about the way I haven't seen it from an outsider perspective. It doesn't seem to be hurting you in any year fights win or lose. And obviously you mainly just win. But what can you tell us about it? You don't have to give us an exact number. If you don't want to as far as what you're putting back on. But how are you feeling? Does it feel like you're going to be able to maybe finish your career or at least be at lightweight for a long long time? Yeah. I obviously, you know, when I'm cutting my weight and in the song, it's Helen itself. But after that like, I drink gallons and gallons of water and electrolytes and food, and I think on so, yeah, I feel great. And I just I usually gained. I usually walk in the cage like, you know, one seventy eight one eighty usually around one eighty, but that's normal, man. Like when I'm I usually walk around at one ninety two hundred pounds. And so yeah, man, I feel good when I cut waiting my weight at five and then usually. You know, fuel up, right and do everything good. I'm walking at one eighty strong so fast. So. Disneyland. Hey, man. Yeah. I I hear that. It's not like, you know, you're you're looking gaunt on the scales. Again, I was at that win as well. And I couldn't believe you know, that you make the way, but at the same time, it doesn't appear to have any negative effect on you for whatever that's worth. But about the fight. You know, not to look too far back. Obviously, you're you're clearly looking forward and rightfully so. But let me ask you, what did you feel in that fight? Because to me, obviously, you know, your jitsu black belt, and obviously you stopped channel TKO the first fight. But on paper, you can still argue that, you know, maybe we would expect to see Chandler get the better of the extent STAN standing exchanges, but I'll tell you just from my outsider perspective being there even deep into the fifth round. Brent I felt I felt like anything could happen. I felt like all the shots were landing on Mike. He was feeling them. And it really kept the intensely. I don't feel that the scorecards reflect how competitive that fight was. But tell me what what did you feel in that regard? My really good. I felt like I was catching him and I wanna fan and I wanted to knock him out my mic game plan for that fight was to catch him on my feet touch with my kids, and my strikes until you didn't want any until shoot down. And I was welcoming the shop, and I was wanting to I'm so comfortable, my my jitsu and everything and I really take care of on the ground. But the biggest thing that I'm just so disappointed in myself. I'm not fighting because I didn't switch game plans. I should've I should've used my Jew to stand up. And I should've sprawled embroiled. Head knocked him out my feet. I just I'm so stubborn, dude. My head of now. I'm gonna catch up with submitted about her time like I've been spending my whole training camps life years, I high high level guys, and I just come to my jittery. But it just wasn't working. We should up that night. I don't know, man. There's a few things I got head. But in the first round to and it's kind of weird. I I wasn't a fog all the way the fourth round..

"All new series premiering Saturday September thirtieth on animal planet at ten pm eastern Pacific time called my big fat pitch makeover. Now there are times that I just wanna say my big fat Greek wedding. And I'm probably sure you're going to hear that Travis. Yeah. Already have. I don't to burst your bubble. I already asked it won't be won't be the first won't be the last. No, we had somebody on Facebook ask actually Dr wanted to know she's got a dog. And it's it's about ten pounds. I can't remember what breed it was. But actually, what makes how do you know, if a dog is overweight? Yeah. That's a great question. So there's to kind of do it yourself test. You can do at home. The first one is what I call the hand test. You wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side, you know, of your pets, primarily a dog or a cat, and you want to be able to feel that ribs exists that you don't want to visually be able to see rich protruding from at side. So this does happen a lot where we're all be with owners, and they'll do it, and they'll have an overweight that and they'll jam their fingers through the fat on the pet side. And they'll say others ridge in there. I can feel him. And I said well now, that's that's the feeding the per. Purpose. So there is a trick to it. You just want to slightly run your hands over and you want to feel the ribs exists in the second one. Is you could check a body condition score for pets, and you could just Google this look at images, you can see actual pictures of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures, and then you can compare your your pets figure to the body condition score. And that there's two tests one out of ten or I'm sorry one out of nine scale. And then there's a one out of five scale, but the one out of nine scale you wanna be somewhere in the five. And that's exactly where you want to be where you kind of have the hourglass figure and that you can feel ribs exists. But you don't want to be able to see them protruding out of the sides. Of course, you know, a lot of people also say too, it's not the pet. It's the parents. So what do you do on on the show? My big fat pet makeover to actually educate the parents. Is there something that you put her through? Yeah. So we do, you know, actually in in the very first episode that you'll see on the thirtieth the two. Owners. I think they reached a point where they realized that they're beagle. Was overweight. But in order for them to understand what it was like we needed them to feel it. So, you know, the beagle was somewhere around twenty percents overweight of its of its of its ideal body weight. So we took that twenty percent and put it on the husband's at the dad. And of course, you know, he was somewhere around one ninety two hundred pounds. So you know, that was a lot of weight on and so he was carrying kettlebells he had a weighted vest. He had ankle weights on and you put them is like this isn't too bad and we made him start walking. And after about ten minutes almost came to dear. She said, I just can't imagine that my dog deals like this on a daily basis, and it was that kind of you know, realization that kind of you know, that, you know, kinda come to Jesus moment that really made him invested in fixing the problem. I know during the break in. I'm karen. And I were watching your trailer again in Karen got to see the fat cat trying to get through the cat door. But there are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel. That was pretty interesting. It was. That's exactly right. That's exactly it looks like a giant hamster wheel. And and you know, we we actually in an external today the know, and you, you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets, and and food is one of them. But obviously toys and praise are great ways. But, but these bet a lot of them were so lazy that you got out a toy. And they look at you like, you were a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on. And they looked at you like not worth it. And so one of the tricks. We used was once we put him on the diet plan. We would actually use the food from there, you know, reduced meal portion to motivate them to lose weight. So it almost seems counterproductive, but because it fell within their diet we could actually use their food to get them to exercise. And so with that cats exactly what we did. You know, we reduce the food. We got it to the right amount to help him get his ideal weight. We got him on that wheel. And he looked at that food. And he said, whatever you. You need to do sign me up. And we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new, wait. He is. I think you'll see his name was VO nugget. I think you'll see him in the second or third episode. This you this their family was a great example of we can't help the pet if we can't get through to the owners, the we have to start with the owners, and for me, I think that's what makes this show. So special is don't just go in and just in on the pet like it's all about getting through to the owners, and we do check in. So the way it's work 'cause they're six one hour episodes. You follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one we assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. We'll Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group, and they said, well, he meows we kept giving him food. And so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know, it took a little took a little bit of, you know, elbow nudging to get them moving in the. The right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets started to lose the weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of the of your time with these pets question, John of so four months, and that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter if you like to see them makeover. But when you because it's a reality show, and we don't have years to do it. You know, you don't see, you know, in all the pets of visual complete change because we only have four months, and and that's can only lose weight in a healthy way a certain percentage of of weight. So so for dogs we're looking at three to five percent of their body weight per month that they should only be losing to stay. Healthy and then cats it can be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight per month. So in the four months, you know, the bigger the pet. Got got to say to you. I mean, it it sounds like it's definitely going to be. They were moving. They were active you cut off on us there for a little bit. But it sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal. And it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, and you can't help yourself. I mean when when you look at some of these pets into that big it is a little bit of chuckle. Well, it it is. Yeah, it is. And you know, a lot of people I've seen already making comments online. They're really being hard on these owners. And they're saying how could somebody lizard pet do that? How could they let him get that way? But you know, what what they need to understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel guilty. You can't come down on them. You can't that's not the way you motivate someone the same way we motivate pets. So I have to get the owners on my side. And you know, these pets they still they still have time to be saved. Right. So we do come in with a little bit of a lightheartedness. But there is a reality check with every owner where there's tough love. And and we have to face base those facts. But that's what makes it so great for TV is, you know, people can watch it. They can do a lot of these things at home themselves, and we are not just changing the pets of the owners that they currently have. But we're changing the way they're gonna raise pets for the rest of their life. My big. Fat makeover. It's on starts on Saturday September thirtieth at ten pm eastern Pacific time on animal planet. Travis brorsson. Thank you so much joining us here on talking pets. Great pleasure. And I wish you the best of luck with the show. It sounds like it's going to be successful. Thank you, John Taryn. Daisy pleasure meeting you and thanks again for having me on. Thank you, a good one. Take care. Best of luck. With the with the fat vets. Thank.

And there's two tests a one out of ten or sorry one out of nine scale. And then there's a one out of five scale, but the one out of nine scale you wanna be somewhere in the five. And and that's exactly where you want to be were you kind of have the hourglass figure and that you can feel ribs exists. Owners. I think they reached the point where they realized that they're beagle. Was overweight. But in order for them to understand what it was like we needed them to feel it. So you know, the beagle was somewhere around twenty percent. Overweight of its of its of its ideal body weight. So we took that twenty percent and put it on the husband's at the dad. And of course, you know, he was somewhere around one ninety two hundred pounds. So you know, that was a lot of weight on him. So he was carrying kettlebells he had a weighted vest. He had ankle weights on and you put them is like, oh, this isn't too bad and we made him start walking. And after about ten minutes almost came to tears. She said, I just can't imagine that my dog deals like this on a daily basis, and it was that kind of you know, realization that kind of you know, that, you know, kinda come to Jesus moment that really made him invested in and fixing the problem. I know during the break in Karen, and I were watching your trailer again in carrying got to see the fat cat trying to get through the door. But there are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel. That was pretty interesting. It was it was. That's exactly right. And that's exactly how it looks like a giant hamster wheel. And and you know, we we actually in an external daisy. No. And you, you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets, and and food is one of them. But obviously toys and praise are great ways. But but these a lot of them were so lazy that you gotta toy. And they just looked at you like, you're a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on. And they just looked at you like not worth it. And so one of the tricks. We used was once we put him on the diet plan. We would actually use the food from there, you know, reduced meal portion to motivate them to lose weight. So it almost seems counterproductive, but because it fell within their diet we could actually use their food to get them to exercise. So with that cats, exactly what we. Did you know we reduced the food? We got it to the right amount to help him get his ideal weight. We've got him on that wheel. And he looks at that food. And he said whatever you need me to do sign me up, and we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new, wait. He is. You know, I think you'll see his name was bone nugget. I think you'll see him in the second or third episode. This you this their family was a great example of we can't help the pet if we can't get through to the owners we have to start with the owners, and for me, I think that's what makes this show. So special is I don't just go in and just in on the pet like it's all about getting through to the owners, and we do check in. So the way it works. Is there six one hour episodes? You follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one we assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. We'll Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group and they said, well, he meows. He kept giving him food. And so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know, it took a little took a little bit of, you know, elbow nudging to get them moving in the right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets started to lose the weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of of your time with these Fettes question, John, so four months, and you know, that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter if you like to see them make over, but when you because it's a reality show, and we don't have years to do it. You know, you don't see, you know, in all the pets of visual complete change because we only have four months, and and that's can only lose weight in a healthy way. A certain. Percentage of of weight. So so for dogs we're looking at three to five percent of their body weight per month that they should only be losing to stay healthy. And then cats it can be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight per month. So in the four months, you know, the bigger the pet. I got I got gotta say to you. I mean, it sounds like it's definitely going to be. They were moving. They were active you cut off on us there for a little bit. But. It sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal. And it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, and you can't help yourself. I mean when when you look at some of these pets under that big it is a little bit of chuckle. Well, it is. Yeah, it is. And you know, a lot of people I've seen already making comments online. They're really being hard on these owners. And they're saying how could somebody lets her pet do that? How could they let him get that way? But you know, what what they need to understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel guilty. You can't come down on them. You can't that's not the way you motivate someone the same way we motivate pets. So I have to get the owners on my side. And you know, these pets they still they still have time to be safe. Right. So we do come in with a little bit of light heartedness. But there is a reality check with every owner where there's tough love. And and we have to face those facts. But that's what makes it so great for TV is, you know, people can watch it. They can do a lot of these things at home themselves, and we are not just changing the pets of the owners that they currently have. But we're changing the way they're gonna raise pets for the rest of their life. My big. Makeover. It's on starts on Saturday September thirtieth at ten pm eastern Pacific time on animal planet. Travis brorsson. Thank you so much for joining us here on talking pets. Great pleasure. And I wish you the best of luck with the show. It sounds like it's going to be successful. I think John Karen, daisy pleasure meeting you and thanks again for having me on. Thank you, a good one. Take care best of luck with the with the fat..

"Refer to midgets little people dwarf. What do we say he said dwarf, and then he revealed that the I guess the the midget community the higher ups to me, I view it as like some sort of like Clinton design, but not like the power. Yeah. They're like, they're like the Jedi knights, basically. I sit around the table when share like robes make decisions on the future of the midget community, and they would describe it. They reached out to and asked him to change his Twitter day because it's a midget symbo to midget symbo. And he said he told them to go fuck off. I feel like if you're part of the if you're on the the high board or the high panel of hydroxyl. Yeah. The little people you if you're going to ask that question and the midget in question is going to refuse you have to be prepared to fall through. Like, I said you worried about in the knock in the night couple midgets, and like baseball bet like you. If you're going to be like Hazaa, that's their holdout out of this. Out of this at like an offer you can't refuse governor. Like, hey, we'd like you to change your name from dominion Zimba. That's like his our ordering you correct ause like fuck off you after like drag sob behind important. I don't want to have it. You have to beat the fuck out. His by you're gonna change the name of the high council dwarfism. They don't deliver out suggestions they out is all like put them on a you. He you have no teeth. You have. No. If you're like, we suggest you change. That is like fuck you in you, just don't do anything. You have no power your joke. Maybe they don't like every person they've asked has just been like. Yeah. And they've never been prepared for someone to say. Now, he's been blackballed from the community. We just don't we should tell you wake up in the middle of the night. Ause is one big mission. They're afraid to tangle with him because he's fucking thick. He's like one ninety two hundred pounds somehow wears large shirts. He wears the same size shirt. I wear true. Where did he wears a large saws thick t h I see that as well. Yeah. But an adult lar-. Wow. Okay. Went over there. This cousins ship. My dad, but the way cuts Turkey. Oh my God. He how about he fought this morning that we weren't going to talk about it on the show. He was stunned that we brought it. What is wrong, man? He's got a lot of problem. I don't know how much people saw that video. But I caught my dad on thanksgiving without him knowing who is being taped. And he was cutting the Turkey. And I mean, if you haven't seen the video, I don't know how to describe it. But it's something he he literally cut like after a thirty two one minute struggle with the Turkey like these small cut it like it was string cheese. Maybe it's a new person at the table. Don't have to cut it yourself. And he's doing you the favor. Liz video we're not saying that cutting Turkey further. Turkey or saying that the way that he did it. And maybe that's why. Maybe that's why it's unexciting down to the bites. Yeah. Exactly. And I want my wasn't even a I don't want. My son to struggle with putting his Turkey at at the dinner plate. What I what can't be expressed enough is it was a full fledged fight like in it happens every year, not for fun. Not for jokes. My mom and my dad yelling at each other. My mom saying, basically, he ruined thanksgiving. And my dad basically being like, I only cut it this way because you told me to start from here. My dad is my dad is he can talk. He's good at picking TV shows. He's almost competent. That is my famous picking TV show. He's good at it. He is good. He knows good TV shows at one time Caparo parkey cans anymore. Like, I didn't let him drive me. Back to Boston that night because I don't trust him driving a car at night. He's fairly incompetent directions in general. You just can't do he like, I don't know. How? You cut a Turkey like that. I just don't. What would you? What did he actually had a spin zone that? I don't know what he said. But I told them not to use it because it was so bad. And this isn't the heat of my sister actually had the best spins on just just say wasn't. You just be like that wasn't me. Prove that's me. I don't know. What else? What did he say? Oh what? Because you couldn't see his face on the radio or something. There is no what did he say? I condition. He he honestly he was so upset about it that he didn't wanna talk about it. He didn't even offer. He offered. No. And I said look man, it's not like your, you know, let's say you'd gone twenty five years something you just never cut a Turkey. I was like seventy one years as it every year. He does it equally bad every year. How have you never witnessed someone do it properly at this point? And then copied that version to try to get net or not not even properly. Just I mean, just in any way it's going to be better than that. That's except write your mom hasn't given you the knife. In addition to you, you know, I I would gladly do it. But it's like his thing. And he it's a full. I don't want to. Day fights seriously. It's a serious fight every year one time on the show. They got in a fight during while your dad was in the car because at one stop sign, he refuses to fully stop and always just goes. And she was just yelling at him. And they were passing the phone back and forth. Trying to get their point across on the show. They're also like my mom will like a big thing is like the driving. My mom will say you're supposed to go. Right. And then my dad will just like stop and they'll get lost. It's quite quite something. The one thing that I could understand is if he tried to say, I cut it horribly on purpose. So that I would never have to cut it again, the fact that he cuts it that horribly every year every year. That's what I'm saying. I'm just going to give you bite size pieces. Liz, they weren't even by size. It was it was a crumb. It was like just shredded piece of nothingness. Listen, I'm trying you know what you let me stick up for him. The tribesmen. We gotta get to this. This American missionary who was killed by these remote, isolated people magazine. This this this century's tribesmen. I read it. It's like if you step on their island kill you. Right. And then he stuck on the island. Did it three times? So the fishermen aren't supposed to take people to the island you like pay bribes these fishermen to take him to this island. And it wasn't like he was just there to say Hello, or whatever he was there to try to convert. He had this belief that he was there to show them God. And he was going to convert this these tribesmen these remote excluded people on this island to Christianity. He went I guess the first time and they like shot arrows, Adam. So he left then he came back about it. He prayed about it. And he kind of reinforced his belief and notion that he should go do this came back, and it got even more intense when they tried to when they tried to obviously attack him and kill him. But he got away. Survived and went back for the third time. And I believe they said they said that they killed him with a bow and arrow good and then dragged him by his neck around on the beach. That's good. I mean, everyone's happy died. Right. Yeah. I'm a religious person. And I'm like, what are you? What are you doing? This is why people hate religion business. That's like the like the rouse night guys who think they contain are. They do religious ceremonies, and then it gets the rattlesnake bite them and kills them in there. Yeah. I believe to there's a lot of danger of these. You know, these people haven't been vaccinated or diseases. They're they're super healthy. But like not if they come in calm career like the flu or something like the native Americans for in that could spread through their entire island and kill ever. Did you see? I think some guy went there, and like the forties or fifties and tried to do like experiments on them and stuff, and he just like torture them so ever since then. Oh, no router that back. They like, obviously, they just kill because I think that they're a devil. Good. I don't blame them one bit. I'm all for them, killing like, we're all on the tribesmen side here a big time. Okay. Well, that's I'm fascinated by interesting. I saw the book of Mormon the day after this happened in. That's like very parallel. It's the same thing book Mormon, but. So I can't say anything seems like a weird thing to be. Oh, it's literally I mean, it's like missionaries that are going over to to Africa to convert and save these people we can here, by the way, the pup pup of the paint gun and people screaming out there. People are screaming. Now for fun or fill out that I don't think. So I think they're screaming because of how fast that's going and hasn't even hit anyone yet. I don't we're not going to get to a million. I don't think but I said it perfectly high like it would have to be like somebody can be seriously injured. We'll better at least have a million bucks. Now, what if the person doesn't want to be shot? Ball gun rented stream, this goes ahead. Shut it down. Do something. I don't even. Yeah. I know I'm telling you right now that you almost got shot. I guess that answers the question just sitting in my desk. All my work. Don't case many. I don't want. You mad at me for. I'm not mad at you. I'm just telling you the situation. Okay. This duly noted. Duly noted don't go back to your desk. What what what do you want me to? What would you like me to just sit near the the the telephone side of things? That way you won't get shot.

"September thirtieth on animal planet and ten pm eastern Pacific time called my big fat pitch makeover. Now there are times that I just wanna say my big fat Greek wedding. I'm probably sure you're going to hear that Travis. Yeah. Already have. I don't want to burst your bubble. I already asked won't won't be the first won't be the last. Now, we had somebody on Facebook ask actually darnold wanted to know. She's got a dog. And it's it's about ten pounds. I can't remember what breed it was. But actually, what makes Mike. How do you know if a dog is overweight? Yeah. That's a great question. So there's to kind of do it yourself test. You can do at home. The first one is what I call the hand test. You wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side of your pets, primarily a dog or a cat, and you want to be able to feel that ribs exists that you don't want to visually be able to see rich protruding from at side. So this does happen a lot where we're I'll be with owners, and they'll do it, and they'll have an overweight and they'll jam their fingers through the fat on the pet side. And they'll say others ridge in there. I can feel him. And I said well now, that's that's the feeding. Purpose. So there is a trick to it. You just want to slightly run your hands over you wanna feel the ribs exist and the second one is you could check a body condition score for pets, and you could just Google this look at images, you can see actual pictures of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures, and you can compare your your pets figure to the body condition score. You know, it took a little bit a little bit of, you know, elbow. Nudging? It gets them moving in the right direction. And once they bought in Bo Duggan started to lose weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of of your time with these pets? Question. John of so four months, and that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter. You like to see them makeover. When you because it's a reality show. And we don't have years to do it. You know, you don't see, you know, in all the pets of visual complete change because we only have four months, and and can only lose weight in a healthy way a certain percentage of of weight. So so for dogs we're looking at three to five percent of their body weight per month that they should only be losing to stay healthy. And then cats it can be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight per month. So in the four months, you know, the bigger the pets. I got I gotta say to you. It sounds like it's definitely going to be. They were moving. They were active. Yeah. You cut off on there for a little bit. But it sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal. And it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, and you can't help yourself. I mean when when you look at some of these pets near that big. It is a little bit of chuckle. Well, it is. Yeah, it is. And you know, a lot of people I've seen already making comments online. They're really being hard on these owners. They're saying how could somebody lets her pet do that? How could they let him get that way? But you know, what what they need to understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel guilty. You can't come down on them. You can't that's not the way you motivate someone the same way we motivate pets. So I have to get the owners on my side. And you know, these pets they still they still have time to be safe. Right. So we do come in with a little bit of a lightheartedness. But there is a reality check with every owner where there's tough love, and and we have to face basis backs. "September thirtieth on animal planet at ten. Pm eastern Pacific time called my big fat pets makeover. Now. There are times that I just wanna say my big fat Greek wedding. And I'm probably sure you're going to hear that Travis. Yeah. Already have. I don't wanna burst your bubble. I already asked won't be won't be the first won't be the last. Now, we had somebody on Facebook asked actually Dr wanted to know she's got a dog. And it's it's about ten pounds. I can't remember what breed it was. But actually, what makes Mike. How do you know if a dog is overweight? Yeah. That's a great question. So there's to kind of do it yourself test. You can do at home. The first one is what I call the hand test. You wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side, you know, of your pets, primarily a dog or a cat, and you want to be able to feel that ribs exists that you don't want to visually be able to see rich protruding from at side. So this does happen a lot where we're all be with owners, and they'll do it, and they'll have an overweight, and they'll jam their fingers through the fat on the pet side. And they'll say others ridge in there. I can feel him. And I said well now, that's that's defeating the purpose. So there is a trick to it. You just want a slightly run your hands over and you want to feel the rigs. And the second one is you could check a body condition score for pets, and you could just Google this look at images, you can see actual pictures of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures, and then you can compare your your pets figure to the body condition score. And there's two tests a one out of ten or I'm sorry one out of nine scale. And then there's a one out of five scale, but the one out of nine scale you wanna be somewhere in the five. And that's exactly where you wanna be were you they kind of have the hourglass figure and that you can feel ribs exists. But you don't want to be able to see them protruding out of the sides. Of course, you know, a lot of people also say too, it's not the pet. It's the parents. So what do you do on on the show? My big fat pet makeover to actually educate the parents. Is there something that you heard through? Yeah. So we do, you know, actually in in the very first episode that you'll see on the thirtieth the two owners, I think they reached the point where they realize that. They're beagle. So you know, that was a lot of weight on him. So he was carrying kettlebells he had a weighted vest. He had ankle weights on and you put them is like, oh, this isn't too bad and we made him start walking. And after about ten minutes almost came to tears. She said, I just can't imagine that my dog deals like this on a daily basis, and it was that kind of you know, realization that kind of you know, that, you know, kinda come to Jesus moment that really made him invested in fixing the problem, I know during the break than Karen, and I were watching your trailer again in Karen got to see the fat cat trying to get through the door. But there are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel. That was pretty interesting. It was. That's exactly right. That's exactly what it looks like a giant hamster wheel. And and you know, we we actually in an external daisy. No. And you, you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets, and and food is one of them. But obviously toys and praise are great ways. But but these a lot of them were so lazy that you got outta toy. And they just looked at you like, you were a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on. And so with that cats exactly what we did. You know, we reduced the food. We got it to the right amount to help him get to his ideal weight. We got him on that wheel. And he looked at that. And he said, whatever you. You need to do sign me up. And we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new, wait. He is. You know, I think you'll see his name was go get I think you'll see him in the second or third episode this this their family was a great example of we can't help the pet if we can't get through to the owners, the we have to start with the owners, and for me, I think that's what makes this show. So special is I don't just go in and just in on the pet like it's all about getting through to the owners, and we check in. So the way it's worked there. Six one hour episodes you follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one we assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. Well Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group, and they said, well, he meows we kept giving him food. And so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know, it took a little bit a little bit of, you know, elbow nudging. It get them moving in the. The right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets started to lose the weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of of your time with these Fettes question, John, so four months, and that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter if you like to see them makeover. And and that's exactly where you wanna be were you they kind of have the hourglass figure and that you can feel ribs exists. But you don't want to be able to see them protruding out of the sides. Of course, you know, a lot of people also say too, it's not the pet. It's the parents. So what do you do on on the show? My big fat pet makeover to actually educate the parents. Is there something that you through? Yeah. So we do, you know, actually in in the very first episode that you'll see on the thirtieth the two. Owners. I think they reached a point where they realize that. They're beagle. Was overweight. But in order for them to understand what it was like we needed them to feel it. So you know, the beagle was somewhere around twenty percent overweight of its of its of its ideal body weight. So we took that twenty percent and put it on the husband's at the dad. And of course, you know, he was somewhere around one ninety two hundred pounds. So you know, that was a lot of weight on 'em. So he was carrying kettlebells he had a weighted vest. He had ankle weights on and he put him is like, oh, this isn't too bad and we made him start walking. And after about ten minutes almost came to dear. She said, I just can't imagine that my dog deals like this on a daily basis, and it was that kind of you know, realization that kind of you know, that, you know, kinda come to Jesus moment that really made him invested in in fixing the problem. I know during the break. And Karen, and I were watching your trailer again in Karen got to see the fat cat trying to get through the cat door. But there are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel. That was pretty interesting. It was. That's exactly right. That's exactly it looks like a giant hamster wheel. And and you know, we we actually in an external daisy. No. And you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets, and and food is one of them. But obviously toys and praise are great ways. But but these debt a lot of them were so lazy that you got out of toy. And they look at you like, you were a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on. And so with that cats exactly what we did. You know, we reduce the food. We got it to the right amount to help and get to his ideal weight. We got him on that wheel. And he looked at that food. And he said, whatever you. You need me to do sign me up. And we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new wait is, you know, I think you'll see his name was bone nugget? I think you'll see him in the second or third episode. This you this their family was a great example of we can't help the pet if we can't get through to the owners, the we have to start with the owners, and for me, I think that's what makes this show. So special is I don't just go in and just can't on the pet like it's all about getting through to the owners. And we do a check in the way it's worked there. Six one hour episodes. You follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one we assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. Well Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group, and they said, well, he meows we kept giving him food. And so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know, it took a little took a little bit of, you know, elbow nudging to get them moving in the. Right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets started to lose the weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of of your time with these Fettes question, John of so four months, and that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter if you like to see them makeover when you because it's a reality show, and we don't have years to do it. You know, you don't see, you know, in all the pets of visual complete change because we only have four months, and and best can only lose weight in a healthy way a certain percentage of of weight. So so for dogs, we're looking at three to five percent of their body weight per month. That they should only be losing to stay healthy. And then cats it can be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight per month. So in the four months, you know, the bigger the pets. I got I got to say to you. I mean, it sounds like it's definitely going to be. They were moving. They were active. Yeah. You cut off on us there for a little bit. But it sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal. And it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, and you can't help yourself. I mean when when you look at some of these pets into that big it is a little bit of chuckle. Well, yeah, it is. And you know, a lot of people I've seen already making comments online. They're really being hard on these owners. And they're saying how could somebody loves her pet do that? How could they let him get that way? But you know, what they need to understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel guilty. You can't come down on them. You can't that's not the way you motivate someone the same way we motivate pets. So I have to get the owners on my side. And you know, these pets they still they still have time to be saved. Right. So we do come in with a little bit of light heartedness. But there is a reality check with every owner where there's tough love, and and we have to face basis facts. Thank you so much for joining us here on talk talking pets. Great pleasure. And I wish you the best of luck with the show. It sounds like it's going to be successful. Thank you, John. Karen, daisy pleasure meeting you and thanks again for having me on. Thank you, take care. Best of luck with the with the fat. Thanks..

"September thirtieth on animal planet at ten pm eastern Pacific time called my big fat pitch makeover. Now there are times that I just wanna say my big fat Greek wedding. And I'm probably sure you're going to hear that Travis already. Have. I don't wanna burst your bubble. I already asked won't be won't be the first won't be the last. Now, we had somebody on Facebook ask actually Dr wanted to know she's got a dog. And it's it's about ten pounds. I can't remember what breed it was. But actually, what makes Mike. How do you know if a dog is overweight? Yeah. That's a great question. So there's to kind of do it yourself test. You can do at home. The first one is what I call the hand test. You wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side of your pets, primarily a dog or a cat and you want to be able to feel that ribs exists. But you don't want to visually be able to see rich protruding from at side. So this does happen a lot. Where were I'll be with owners, and they'll do it. And they'll have an overweight that and they'll jam their fingers through the fat on the pet side. And they'll say others ridge in there. I can feel him. And I said well now, that's that's the feeding. Purpose. So there is a trick to it. You just want to slightly run your hands over you wanna feel the ribs exists and the second one is you could check a body condition score for pets, and you could just Google this look at images, you can see actual pictures of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures, and then you can compare your your pets figure to the body condition score. "Thirtieth on animal planet and ten PM eastern Pacific time called my big. Fat hedge makeover now there are times that. I just. Wanna say my big fat Greek. Wedding And, I'm probably sure you're. Going to hear that Travis yeah already have I don't want to burst your. Bubble the irony won't won't be the first won't be. The last no we had somebody on Facebook, asked actually Dardenne wanted to know she's got a, dog and it's it's about ten, pounds I can't remember what breed it was but actually what makes hike how do you know if a dog is overweight yeah that's a great. Question so there's to kind of do it, yourself test you can do at home the, first one is what I call the hand test you wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side of, your pets primarily a. Dog or a, cat, and you want to be able to feel. That ribs exists that you don't want to visually be able to see rich. Protruding from, at side so this does happen a lot. Where we're I'll be with. Owners and they'll do it and they'll have an overweight that. And. They'll jam their fingers through the fat on the side and they'll say others, ridge in. There I can feel him and I said well now that's that's the feeding Purpose so there is a trick to it you just want to, slightly run your hands over you wanna feel the ribs. Exist, and the, second one is you could check a. Body condition score for pets. And you could just Google this. Look, at images you can see actual pictures, of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures and then you can compare. Your your pets figure to the body, condition score and there's two. Tests a one out of ten or I'm sorry? One, to nine scale and. Then there's a one out of five scale but the one out of nine. Scale you wanna be somewhere in the five and that's. Exactly where you want to be were you, kind of have the hourglass figure in that you, can feel ribs exists but you, don't want to be able to see them protruding out of the sides of course you know a lot of people also say too it's not. The pet it's the parents so what do, you do on on the show my big, fat pet makeover to actually educate the parents is there something that you put her through yeah so we do you know actually in, in the very first. Episode that you'll, see, on, the, thirtieth the two The owners I think they, reached the point where they realized that their goal. Was overweight but in order for them to understand, what it was like we, needed them to feel it so you know the beagle was somewhere around twenty, percents overweight of its of its of its ideal body weight so, we took that twenty, percent and put it on the husband's at the, dad and of course you know he, was somewhere around one ninety two hundred, pounds so you know that was a lot. Of weight on 'em so he was carrying kettlebells you gotta weighted vest he had, ankle weights on any put him is like oh this isn't too bad and we. Made him, start walking, and after about ten minutes almost came, to dear she said. I just can't. Imagine that my dog deals like this on a? Daily basis and it was that kind of you know. Realization that kind of you know that you? Know. Kinda come to, Jesus moment, that really made him invested in fixing the problem I know during the, break in Karen and I, were watching your trailer again in carrying got to see the fat cat trying. To get through the cat door There. Are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel that was pretty interesting It was That's. Exactly right and that's just how it looks like a giant. Hamster wheel and and, you, know we we actually in an external today the no, and you, you know..
