Israel's New Unity Government Is a Sham
"Netanyahu and Israel and how this guy But he fought and fought and fought. And he really let him have it. The media in Israel is is really disgusting. Actually more disgusting than Army because there's really only a handful of conservative outlets altogether is no Fox News. In Hebrew in Israel. So they have nothing to that extent. But you have true Stalinist type hacks. Have been trying to take after this prime minister and obviously the people of Israel of like this prime minister. His party and he still got more votes than anybody else. She have a guy by the name of Naftali Bennett. Just listen quickly. He runs to the right of Netanyahu says he's not conservative enough. He runs in his own party. You need 120. Actually, they have 120 ministers. Excuse me, 100 and 20 members of the Knesset, their parliament. His party got six. Six. Lot less than 5%. He's now the sitting prime minister of Israel. He swings to the left, He embraces the left wing parties. He embraces the Arab Party, which is really a jihadi party movement. Because he wants to be prime minister is 48. He won't wait. It's absolutely unbelievable, actually. And so by one vote. Effectively. One member they take over the government. This guy lied to the people of Israeli lie to the people who voted in his party. Hundreds of thousands, Not many, but still To get what he wanted to get. And the media. Think this is a unity effort. It's a unity effort. Unity around what Have these disparate groups. Anti Zionist pro Zionist, most of them anti Anti American. In some cases hard left, they call them center left there. Nothing center left over there. They're hard left wing kooks. And this guy Naftali Bennett throws in with them because they say we'll make you the prime minister first, then the Styler full lap that he can be eaten getting behind.

State and Local Republican Parties Are Turning Ever More Toward Trump
"January six dr day history of the united states cap president trump is spoken many times since we left office. And i don't know if we'll ever see. But i will always be proud of what we accomplish for the american people over the last four years in new hampshire this week downplaying his differences with president trump Over the course of their partnership president trump of course returned to the stage last night as well with that speech in north carolina. Talk about it on our roundtable. We've got rahm emanuel donna. Brazile wall street journal columnist jason ryan riley a senior fellow at the manhattan institute and author of new book. Maverick a biography of thomas sowell and former libertarian member of congress justin amash and carson let me begin with you. The new york times is an interesting analysis of president trump this where they call them diminished but dominating at the same time of course. He had to give up basically his blog this week. He's still has a hold on the republican party. You serve with a lot of republican members of congress. How do you explain it. What republicans do about it well over the last couple years. I've really seen it. Take off. When i first got to congress. I could see this nationalist sort of starting to swell and by about two thousand fifteen. It took hold of the republican party in in a pretty big way at first members of congress when donald trump took office were doubtful about him. They would make fun of them in private. They'd criticize him They'd insult him. Even i thought they going too far and i was a big critic of donald trump and i couldn't believe some of the things that were said about him and then around two or three years ago around the beginning of twenty nine or so. I saw people really start to shift and the party really became donald trump's party completely and that's going to be the way it is over the next few years. I don't think. I don't think we're going back to a different kind of republican party.
What Is Going on in Israel?
"Is going on in israel. What is going on is or. I'm going to tell you what's going on. In israel. the cabal of these tiny teeny weeny political parties. Some of receive five percent of the vote. Or what have you that. Are trying to take out benjamin netanyahu. Some of these parties are led by saboteurs. Who were formerly of the likud party. Which is netanyahu's party. Who are anxious to get big cabinet jobs. Or even become prime minister it is a grotesque grotesque display. And there's an excellent piece written by daniel elbaum and he says the end of democracy in israel as we know now the key player. Here is colleague bennett. I've totally been at once. Served as netanyahu's chief of staff. He's in his forties. He's been chomping at the bit. Believe it or not for a decade to be prime minister. The problem is he doesn't have the support of the israeli people so he's trying to cut deals with the left and the far left and even some of the arab parties he's lied to the electorate of israel. He ran to the right of netanyahu and attacked netanyahu from the right. But there's more putting naphtali bennett at the helm will mark the first time in the history of democracies that someone with less than five percent. Voter support is made prime minister five percent. One hundred and twenty one hundred. Twenty knesset members of parliament. So you need sixty one members to choose. The prime minister naftali bennett including himself has seven

"The UW Doctor dresser, Can you tell us about the study that's underway? Yes, thanks so much for having me This is a wonderful collaboration of institutions across three US. Looking at the effects of covert 19 in college athlete specifically researchers from Harvard University, Washington and a great partnership between American Heart Association and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine or forming or Registry and Collecting data. As we knew early in the pandemic overnight team seems to have an affliction for the heart and in the thickets of patients. This can cause some heart muscle injury, and it raised questions about whether or not the virus would cause problems in younger, healthier individuals like competitive athletes. So across the nation, colleges have been doing additional Hart screens and tests. In athletes who have had covert on Tao. It's time that we we understand more about this. So we're actively collecting data reviewing these cardiac findings from athletes across the nation on drying to have a better understanding of just what the risk is of something like myocarditis after this viral illness in general, is there much that is known about covert 19th long term effects on people's hearts? Growing information? I mean, obviously Pandemics only been around for a year now, so long term is still relative. But there can be heart muscle damage. And when you have inflammation or direct viral injury to the heart muscle, or the mild cardio, which is called myocarditis, but that can be short term on grizzled completely, or perhaps it could be more expensive and caused Long term problems. And so these are the types of things that we are investigating and hope to find some evidence to inform how we monitored the graphics on how might this research help athletic organizations in general? Well, I think it's gonna help quite a bit. I think colleges across the nation have taken sort of a shotgun approach to investigating their athletes were doing EKGs were doing echocardiograms or ultrasounds of the hardware getting laboratory information. Some institutions. Are you even doing that screening? Memorize. Of the heart, you know, looking for findings, and I think what will hopefully be able to provide some ADA is an evidence based approach to how we might identify those athletes who truly do have a heart issue related to coded doctor dresser. You're a sports medicine Doc and you work with athletes often, and they are Often some of the healthiest people in the world. Someone in normal shape is listening right now, Or maybe they have some underlying conditions, and they don't take the threat of covert. Seriously. What do you want them to know about this virus? Yeah. You know, I think the one thing I've learned from my just clinical practice is The importance of recognizing symptoms once you've had over it, so specifically, if you have cardiovascular related symptoms, if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, feel your heart race or perhaps, you know, reduced tolerance, exercise, exercise, intolerance or fatigue. As you return to exercise Post Cove it after the viral syndrome and these air really important symptoms, and I think, perhaps are a marker of higher risk. And so I think this clinically what I'd say is a physician working in this space. If you're a patient, you packed Cove it If you don't feel right as you return back to exercise, I think you should be evaluated by your position. "So when you call or come into the office, you'll be seeing and talking with them quite often. That's right, and we're so excited to have him here. Also, as you know, we got to the point where we're just getting busier and busier and we really needed to bring on another member to the advisory team. We talk a lot on her show about being fiduciaries in acting in the best interest of our clients. So bringing someone in who fit our mission was the highest priority Now. Honestly, we looked for a long time. You know, we looked for a couple years. No, you did sure. We just didn't have much luck. And then this year we met Zach, who was referred to us by My business associate and jaw came through to us from head hunting team if you will, and we met them earlier this year, both these guys were young, excited to learn and just finishing up school during 2024 years. Yeah, but the most important thing they had the heart and the right mindset, So we decided to bring them both on And we couldn't be more excited to have him here. It's so great to hear Linda we're gonna bring in the first new member of the team. Joel Cavalier, Joe. Welcome to the show. Thanks that it's a pleasure to be here today. I see around here all the time. It's funny to have you on the other side of the mic today. It's a pleasure for me. I'm enjoying it. All right. Well, let's just talk about you and start off with how long have you been here now with blue hair in capital, So I've been here for just a little bit over six months now. In love and every single bit of it. Okay. How'd you end up here? Well, you know, I actually I studied up a CSU. I studied financial planning and investment analysis about CSU Go. Ramsey's Yeah. I love her and said, I'm a Colorado native, So I've been here my whole life. Um You know, I ended up getting to talk to Carl and Linda. As Linda has said through kind of a headhunting corporation, and we thought it was a great fit. I got to learn a lot from them. And yeah, it's been great. So far. So where you up, But CSU My son graduated from CSU, by the way. What was your educational focus? Yeah, Absolutely. So I had a major and business administration. And I had two concentrations. So my first concentration was in financial planning, and that second one was an investment analysis that I also did a little certificate and computer information systems. So I got to learn a little bit more on that side of things to technology wise. Which I think is really important in this day and age. Did I mention these air? Really smart guys we hired? I think I'm the dumbest guy right now. I don't think so. I don't think so. That is something else. Yeah. Talk about perfect background fit. But then also Joel has the heart. To meet with people to do the right thing. He's looking for the right thing all the time. And, you know, I always say we can. We can teach skills. We can't teach art. Well, that's exactly right. And that's something you have to have. Just as equally as you have to have the knowledge, right? That's exactly right, Joe. Let me ask you, however, your past experiences prepared you for this job at Blue Herring Capital. Sure, Absolutely. Yes. So In school, You know, Obviously we are working with clients directly. We're doing hypothetical client situations when I was learning in school, and then actually what I got an opportunity Do I worked for a well known insurance agency? I did an internship with them while I was in school. And through that I actually got to learn a lot about client situations. Got to learn about talking with clients and got to learn a lot more, especially on the insurance side of things. But what I learned from that is, you know, I really wanted to do more comprehensive planning. And after getting the talk of Linda and Carl, I found out that that's what we do here. That's exactly what I wanted to do it. So that's what we decided. That would be a good fit. This was a better fit from both sides. Carlin Linda obviously see that, But you also saw that this is what you really wanted to do. Right. So is there any trepidation when you first got here about now? You're not. This isn't the clients that you're faking out in college. This is the real deal. Yeah. I mean, absolutely. It was a change of mind when I came here. I was like, Okay, I need to Figure out what's going on. Do full picture planning. And, you know, I love it so much more. It makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing when it comes to everything for their plans, So I've been really enjoying it. And you just can't come in here off the streets and say, Hey, I'm gonna be a player. You have to have licenses and things like that. Don't try to make it sort of official. I guess we'll say so. What licenses do you have more? They mean right, So I have the life health and accident insurance license. And so that just gets me license on the insurance side of things gets me to know The product is me to know the laws around those products and then I also hold a serious 65 inch investment license. So basically threw that it holds us to a fiduciary responsibility, and that's something that we think should be a standard in this industry that Blue Herring capital and that's what we've always stood, too. So that officially holds us to that standard, fiduciary responsibility, working in the best interest of your client. And as you say, you would think everybody would do that. But that's not the case. Not all of them have the fiduciary responsibility, right? Absolutely. And I worked the firm I worked for before. It wasn't a requirements after 3 65. So when I got to talk to Linda Garland, they told me that's something that we we require here. We need this fiduciary responsibility for our clients. We want to do the best thing. That's when I knew that their hearts were in the right plan that could tip the scales you the way you said, I'm not so sure about that. You probably wouldn't have signed on right, right. Absolutely. I want you to pretend that Linda is not sitting here right now. Okay, Right. What is it like to learn from somebody like Linda Well, it's incredible. I've worked with a few advice was actually at my previous firm because they would do joint work with US and Never worked with anybody that did as much comprehensive planning is Linda has done I've never seen somebody built the answer so many questions and the meetings that I've sat in on with her, and it is truly incredible to watch. And so I don't think I could be learning from anybody better. Well, thank you so much, And and actually, I didn't prompt him to do that. But I really appreciate it. And it's exciting to have both of these young men in our meetings with the clients because I know they are learning a lot while they're there. But then we come out of the meetings and they have a lot to add to the thought process about what do we do for these clients? And how do we best sit up? Set up this particular situation? For success sure for these particular clients, and so they're really coming along great. It's wonderful. That's great to hear. But what could you have met every morning, Joel? You know, honestly, it's It's the families that we work with every single day. I get to talk to some of the best people on bats. Really what gets me up and going. I love the conversations that we have. I think they're very important. And it gets me out of bed every single day. Now you're developing a certain skill set. Certainly here with everything. You're learning all the licenses you had to take..

"I am so sympathetic to them, Um We don't You know, we don't have kind of the formality that the Senate has about new members not going on ways and means I was lucky enough to be on ways and means each my years here until up to this year. Uh, And and we will absolutely include them in those discussions. I think the look you know, there's some things are very complex about the budget process to things that are just about making tough decisions, and we tried it. Incorporating as much input from members on all that, um, to to try that, you know, one help them get up to speed because everybody's asking you for you know, I always tell people that when I got in the politics my parents saw that was nuts. And then they thought they also had the expectation that you know, I said around that said, Yes, everybody. And last time of the author of the State budget, I remember one point time, my mother that you know, I bet you for every penny Yes, I say yes to I tell 20 people. No, I don't think most people understand that mean you have to make priorities. You have toe you have toe. You know a lot of people with really good ideas that matter to them and probably are. Worthwhile investments, but you only have so much wrong with revenue. And so you have to make tough decisions. And we just trying to give our newer members exposure that that wouldn't be part of that process in and get him up to speed. It takes a while. I mean, you know, and I know sooner Bray and and liturgy, Quinn a hand Fathers that we're in a Leslie body, so they probably had a head start. But there's no training for showing up and I think your first year and and working through a committee process toe second, you know, to second reading amendments, toe the switching of sides. It is very, very, very unique. And and just not. You know, there's not like so there's not a lot of training. They can prepare you for this, so we will absolutely include him. We you know, I tell everyone that this is the best education. You're being kit And I just worry about this year being as Aziz Collaborative as we would like to help them get up to speed, But we have a terrific group of new members. I was super excited him but part of our caucus and we're gonna get him up to speed on on. Budget, redistricting, education, yell energy policy, healthcare policy, all the things that we know make a difference. Toe who's just across the state. Uh, Here's another unique position for me, Uh, are one new member is going to be not only on appropriations, but he's gonna be on the budget committee is a nonvoting member. Um, and that was done on purpose. A zoo leader, a new leader. I think it's time for us as leadership to recognize that new ideas and new concepts. Are just as important as longevity. Fatty Carneiro, who will be a part of our our caucus has a breath of energy and understanding of budgets. It would be on Lee prudent for me, even though he has no experience in doing into state level that he'd be a part of that process. Now he's gonna have some backed up on those committees. We've got Senator Italian would have breath of energy and a lot of experience. We've got center melting senators Scott Ski that are gonna be all Appropriations committee. But I think it's only prudent that we have our new members and put him right into the fray. So he's gonna be serving a zoo, a first term member on appropriation, and he's going on the Appropriations Committee, and he's also gonna be the non voting moon member on the budget committee. Uh and I think that helped provide a lot of good ideas and ingenuity. Esso. I want our new members him and Senator Yoda. She replaced Senator Stoops are gonna be very involved in the budget making process on the Senate Democrats side Hey, Tom. I'm just jumping very quickly, And we have other topics. Great. Wanna cover But we have five new members and including three from Marion County, Rene Pack. Mitch Gordon Blake Johnson. Blake Johnson was on the Indianapolis City Council, so he certainly has some. Ah little bit of legislative slated experience here coming over from the International City Council and then Mike Andrade from Monster and, uh, Your Houston one more member. We can add to those filing in their father's footsteps. And that's marine Bauer s O. She will definitely know how to get around the statehouse. Okay, but we're also very excited with our new members Gonna bring a lot of energy and new ideas to our caucus. So, so we know Marina's following in father's and grandfather's footsteps for those unaware of the call that's along Long time ST. Rapped former House leader Pat Bauer's daughter in South Bend area it, Tom, let me can I weigh in real quick on one thing, I'll make it very brief, but relates to what Senator Taylor's said, and he didn't necessarily say that. It sounded like it sort of implied that the state of the Senate Republicans just rely on longevity to put people on Appropriations Committee and that isn't how we handle it. If you look at the Appropriations Committee, that's not the case, but obviously it's a different it's a different animal. When you've got 39 people toe staff committees and put in his chairman and it Z, frankly, a little bit like putting a complicated puzzle together. It's not just longevity has more to do with areas of expertise There is of interest, and so, uh, longevity doesn't really have a lot to do with that. Maybe a little bit, but interesting expertise were more important there. I I think it's important to note between Chairman Brown Chairman Mishler.

"Bears and Lions. Just one of nine noon starts today, Brian I was kinda hoping since they had a game on Thursday two on Monday night. On Sunday night, I was open to push like 53 games. There was a chance to watch a bunch of mean I know what three. Everybody's probably gonna have their minds on their eyes on Brady and Brees going against each other is Tampa Bay takes on New Orleans. I'll be watching the Niners and the Cardinals at three o'clock would be nice, you know? Ah, few more throw. A few more in there sometimes would be bears quarterback Tom Brady. Yeah, And apparently from what we understand now, possibly even Saints quarterback because I guess there was a thought that Drew Brees was going to retire, and then Tom Brady would have gone down to New Orleans. So pretty soon I find out that every team in football and actually made a call Tio tried to bring Tom Brady in. According Teo in Rapaport, the Bears actually made an offer. I'd love to know if that's factual. What the offer was and Or speculation that he has a son in New York and was an easy flight from Chicago, New York and maybe wasn't football since he was considering the Bears. But I wasn't considering the Bears and you look around you mentioned Certainly no more. Holmes and Watson Thursday night that quarterback's the Ryan Pace passed on draft night to get travesty. But Cam Newton Teddy Bridgewater would be bears quarterbacks who could have been someone other than Nick Foles, backing up Robiskie or taking his job. It's weird, and it's funny that comes and waits for, like a day before the season to come out, Tio, that's even more so. But let's check in with our guy. Jeff Dickerson joins us here on ESPN 1000 on the Corona Hotline. Jeff what's going on? Hey, Fred. Hey, Brian. Great Page eight. I've kind of different Different start to the year for all of us at ESPN that are traveling. It's not ideal, which, I guess is the slogan for 2020, right? Not ideals. Nothing tonight. Very interesting starting the year like this, but No. As far as the inactives go, they just came out. Not sure pretty giggles. Quick mention the two big pieces of news. Of course they've Montgomery is active. It was trending in that direction after he had full participation. In practice on Thursday and Friday. And one thing about Matt Maggie guys who've been very consistent Since he got here If a player gets that medical clearance from the training staff to be active in play Naggy usually doesn't back off a whole lot. There's not much of these, You know, Limited roles are limited packages, so I would think that there's a good chance that the game plan involving Montgomery Will be like you've got David Montgomery at close to 100%. So that's a good sign. I would think for Bears fans that Robert Quintal guys is inactive. What can you say? Besides disappointing, you know, 30 million guarantees he signed for the soft season. We barely saw him at all in training camp because he was being you know, brought along slowly. According to the Bears, and now this ankle injury will knock him out of week one. And you know it is a loss because Matthew Stafford and say what you want about the Lions and math Patricia on that terrible defense they had Matthew Stafford is still a very good quarterback in this league. You got some weapons, even though Gala Day is going to be an active here, So you would really like to have both of your guys coming off yet bringing the heat? And Mac and Quinn, but Robert Quinn will not make his hair his Bears debut in week. One. Unfortunately, What? What is a day of full David Montgomery participation looked like in terms of numbers. How confident are they in their offensive line, and they're running game. Azad go into this season. Brian. I'm not saying that it's going to work, however. They recognize that what you saw last year from a run game perspective was unacceptable. They realized that and you and you know mad Maggie is always always guys. Has his eye on what's taken place in Kansas City. You're gonna tell me that watching that game on Thursday night? Where Edwards, Hilaire just I mean buried. The Texans kept them so off balance. They ran the ball so well. So effective, so creative You're gonna tell me that bastard, not in any way resonate with Matt. Maggie. I think that's what he would like to do. Now, Brian, your question is great because Can they do it with the offensive line that I think is a very big unknown. We did not see enough at all In our limited. I mean, limited time around the team this summer to get a feel for how those guys were blocking up front. There's only one new member. That's Tremaine. Instead, he will be your starting right guard today. All the other players are back. They did change out Harry he stand brought in Juan Castillo. Bill Lazor, the offensive coordinator, has a lot of oversight over the run game. So they're banking on the coaching upgrade in their mind more so than the player upgrades and guys that makes me a little nervous because you show me any great coach. And also your great players. You show me any bad coach, and I'll probably be a lot of bad players, You know? I mean, that's just how it works. So I think the intense Is to come in today and run the ball. Not all run but really keep Detroit guessing. Get that great rhythm have Montgomery kind of look like Edwards alerted Thursday night. That's the plan coming in. Can they execute it? That's a different story. We don't know. You know, Jeff, you just mentioned that with running and rhythm my concern is That Nagy talks about having to re cone and then you see Cordero Patterson on ly work, Basically with running backs here in camp. I'm worried that Montgomery doesn't get thematic touches that he should get this year. Is that something you're you're concerned about? Well, how could I tell you? You're crazy. First of all, I wouldn't know you could always sell. A lot of other people are crazy. They're not crazy. No, of course because I felt like a times last year. I thought Nagy was like a frustrated play caller, You know, like he comes in with the right intention. Then when it doesn't work He says, Well, the hell of it. Let's try this instead. And I just think you gotta stay committed and far too often last year, they straight away and they didn't try it. And you know, and you could tell the frustration. I mean, how many times we hear him say Walter Payton could have picked up that first down or things like that. You heard that a lot last year. So he was upset. The players were frustrated. I just think what Here's what needs to happen today, Guys. I know it's a huge cliche every year on the pregame show. We always talk about getting off fast start, but you do realize that the first eight games last year the Bears had one touchdown on the opening drive. Right now, not listen today of all days. Don't you think that they come out and the score on the first possession, which I think they should be able to against this defense? So much is going to change and they're going to really take control of this game. Detroit I mean, last time I checked their ownership said these guys, you make the playoffs or you're all fired. So I mean, you think there's pressure in Chicago and there is a will. There is pressure. But you know, George has not come out and said, We're gonna fire pace and fire naggy..

"Final hour of the show for the week. Fun week. It's football Friday and your partner on the network our football guy. And father of Parker. That would be Jeff Dickerson. He joins us now to preview lions and bears. Oh, my J D. Good morning. How are you? Good morning boys of blood and made it. We had a bit of a remote learning issue a couple minutes ago, and I was concerned that the bears it was in jeopardy. But here we are, and getting ready for for Sunday's game. Can you believe that? I mean last night, of course, watching the Chiefs of the Texans. Was so much fun, But can you believe that the Bearsfirst game is finally already here? Crazy? It is is crazy and watching Thursday night's game last night's game, Jeff when you watch Kansas City, that's what Maggie wants. Is that not the blueprints having layer out there? The little guy running the football doesn't wish that story. Cohen Doesn't Maggie wish he had the type of personnel having a tight end a wide receiver to go to watching. Can't seem like I'm sure Nag you is this slamming his fist on the table like that's what I want that's trying to achieve here. Well, that's where he came from. Of course, that's what he wants. And how about the way that How about the way guys that the chief's kept the Texans defense so off balance Because of the way they ran the football that you see some of those runs some of those holes and it was the commitment. For running the ball and keeping them off balance. Now, when you've got Patrick Mahomes and you've got Travis Kelsey and you've got walk ins, and you've got Robinson and all of these great playmakers kill Tariq Hill. Of course. How eel how tempting it would be just to say screw it. Patrick, Go get it done Every single play. We believe in you, which they do, and Mahomes even had some of his incompletions last night were dropped in the end zone That could have been even better numbers could have been even better last night. But the way they mixed in the run and the way they had that balanced attack, and there you go, you know for everyone that always complains Well, my teen drafts 19th overall REM I team drafts. In the low twenties. You Khun still draft 30 seconds in the first round and get an impact player from day one, which is what the chief's got with their running back. So I loved last night. I don't think the Texans guys are going to be that bad, but I just think that showed you right now. Where the Chiefs are at now that being said We have seen these great performances from the vending champions in week one week two in the past and then doesn't always turn out the way you think it's going to turn out. It's a long season. It's a weird season. They're going to be all kinds of injuries. So who knows? But I think last night if we were playing in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs would have been the favorites. Leaguewide. No doubt. JD. Do you expect that we did? A topic today. Give us something you need to see other than the obvious. Mitchell Travis Key. He's off the table. Something else You need to see from the bears to feel good about this team and my number one was. I want to see confidence offensively. I want them to look like a winning football team. Not like We picked up four yards there. That was a good place, you know, Just run the damn football and pass the ball with confidence. Well, there you go. I mean, if you really want to feel that the Bears are legit this year. It's gonna be. Can they run the ball now? Detroit doesn't have a great defense. That was Matt Patricia's calling card. When he took the job over and it's not a great defence. They should have some success. You would think this Sunday. Capt. Jonathan. I want to see them not just commit to running the ball because there were times last year where they ran the ball. But the play call was a bit questionable. Remember, there were a few plays where Nagy was like. Not even Walter Payton could have picked up that first out. That was the one that he gave the court. Daryl fasten to the left of the quarterback. I'll never forget it right And I mean they're for like four. Packers is sitting back there when he got the ball waiting attack along, so it's not just Physically running. It's let's get created what's have strong designs, effective designs and then the offensive line. You know, we spent so much time focused on the quarterback and rightfully so. That was the story for my paper from my job, guys doing it more for ESPN the national stuff. That's what they care about. They care about the quarterback won the quarterback to and then maybe Montgomery's injury. Three. That's how ESPN prioritizes bears coverage right now, that's just how it is. What the offensive line has got to be so much better, And there's only one new member and that's Tremaine. If Eddie These guys have got it just it can't just be. We're gonna bring in one deal and everything is going to change. I don't know if that's going to make things better. Worse. I have no idea. I can't tell you based on the limited stuff we saw this summer. What are these offensive lineman going to go out there and pushing people around? Fire off the ball, not just every step sideways. Are they going to do these things? That's what I want to see on Sunday if their mix it in a great combination of run pass. And Montgomery's out there, and he's ripping off 89 10 yard runs like last night. You saw a Kansas City if they've got cone in there for a change of pace, and he's successful, maybe even a couple gadget runs of the Patterson. That's fine. But if they have great tempo and great balance and great success on the ground now, that's something to celebrate, and that's something they could take forward from Game one and beyond. Brother, as you well know, there's always the pundits and also Vegas always look at a team but a spot on team and say, You know that team just going to be better last year, That was the Browns, right? Just because, like the Browns just have to be better. They were better last year, and for this year everywhere you look, it's like, you know, the lines will be much more improved this year, and I'm saying, you know, defensively, I can't see that. Is there something that you see from the lines that says, you know, for sure they're going to be better than they were last year. I see a really good quarterback. I see very good receivers. I see a good tight end. But I also see the lines. Lines will you know Jonathan will pop up every now and again. Kind of like the pears. In those surprise, you will have a good year, but they can't ever They can't ever consistently get that together. And I mean There were some that thought that Patricia should have been on the hot seat last year. I'm assuming he's on the hot seat this year in Detroit. I don't. I don't think it's going to be here. I don't think it's going to be an easy game for the Bears on Sunday. That would surprise me because I don't think you know. Neither team had the preseason games. Everyone's kind of running together. It's easier to go out there and Look good when your quarterback is Patrick Mahomes and your head coaches Andy Reid, and you want a Super Bowl and you've got all these guys coming back Then you could say, Well, I don't need the preseason. I don't need all these weeks of training camp, but it seemed like the bears a team like the Lions. They're both kind of like a crossroads. I don't know how sharp they're going to be. I don't know how ready they're going to be. So I think they'll be mistakes this weekend, but I think it's going to be a close game a game that either team can win as faras the lines having this great renaissance in the North. I don't see it now. You know Hoody Argy Rothstein. Oh, boy. Oh, yeah. He picked the lines to win the NFC North. Do that every year. He does not do that every year. He's the one that Patricia attack 1 90 seconds. How about sitting up in your chairs? It's just fine. Yes, it was him. Yes. He's not doing that those guys any favors, but he's obviously seeing some stuff that he believes it..

"My bride of thirty five years there and we're not connected to any big event on on this particular trip so should be fun. I hope you have a great great time. Yeah we're we're looking forward to it. So I've got a guest today She is a very active in our Michigan region and and was is really respected by the directors there who I have an immense respect for down in Penny George. Your Bitch She lives in Michigan. She's married she has five children. Yes count them five children from eleven to nineteen and Inter I seven years of being I she sponsored two new members a me repeat that in our first seven years would be an sponsored two members then she made a focus to start bringing visitors into the room and in that first term after that she brought in fifty five visit extra she brought in over a hundred visitors and she's she's consistently brought in one visitor a week for the last three and a half years which has resulted in over one new member every month for three and a half years. She's brought in more than one new member every month for three and a half years so two new members in the first seven years for three more in the last forty two months wants Madeleine. I am so impressed. well-done welcome to be an eye podcast format to matter to be here with you so you've got a few topics a few things that are definitely want to talk about one of them It begins with extending your eyes and ears talked me about that Hyo so when I talk about bringing visitor into the room we start with Just a little bit of a mind shift so that people could be rather is people all around that are looking to grow their business that we're just not aware of. Yeah you know. We're all standing in the middle of some kind of referral and for those of you. Who Haven't listened to the episode go to episode four zero four called standing in the middle referrals and that talks about what Madeleine referring to here? which is your titular activating system? And that you've got to open your mind to Allowing these kinds of things that she's he's about to be talking about to come into your mind so that's a great opening. Take a look at that episode. Good so extending your eyes and ears. The first step is bringing someone that you know into your meeting with you. Bring a guest Bring your office manager. Bring your spouse bring your employees so I've brought my therapist. I brought my office manager and that has been the key she came. She was in the room. She got to experience what it is that we do. And how she's on the phone every day she's meeting clients and she'll ask them. So what do you do which he hears of any kind of business is related. She'll say oh. Are you looking for more business. And when they say yes she said although the owner Nadal and she would love to meet with you and she liked to introduce introduce you to some other local business professionals. If we can get you more business and so that has been a huge Influence and reaching out out at connections with other people being your eyes and ears for you. That's a great suggestion. Bringing them into a chapter love it. What so the office manager as she's he's on the phone we get a lot of phone calls For people asking to meet with me directly and I used to always say no and the therapist and busy not interested. No no no now we no longer say no too cold calls now we say yes yes. Could I talk with Madeline. Yes she would love to meet with you. Friday at seven. In addition she's going to introduce you to Habra other business professional. Oh my gosh. This is generated in so so many visitors and they're so thankful because they hear no no no yes all day long and you tell them bring plenty of business cards. This is a great technique. I've heard heard of before I absolutely love it. And this extended into in addition we get letters in the mail that is often but we still do and now they no longer go in the circular file. Now we open them read them and we respond and assessors halted in visitors and members as well show you also talk about other other networking events. Tell me about that our networking events especially chambers. I've found in my experience chambers. Are you go to a chamber. The event is like a fisherman going to a pond teeming with fish. Everyone banner there in the room they already enjoy networking. They already see the benefits. They're there to grow their business. Boom boom boom boom boom. Just look around and talk to somebody to say. Would you like to be my guest at another event. Rx introduce you to more local business professionals when I was a member madeline long time ago but it was a member that was one of the best ways for me to bring in members. Numbers new members or visitors to chapter was through chambers. I went to a lot of chamber meetings breath and a lot of visitors. I think that's still a great technique today on that same on on that. Same idea. Business Expos or vendor events anytime where they are heros one. Everyone they're they're. They're spending the time they're looking for our business so of course they would like to be introduced to more another great technique I used to go to chamber events and their trade shows or other organizational trade shows. And I'd go around and I invited people that were running the booth awesome because they were looking for business and invited them to the local chapters. Great Techniques yes. Yes so what about social media talk to me about that. This is one of uh-huh well I guess these are all really good. This is your salted. Install many visitors and You Remember Social Media I use facebook book. And then we'll touch on linked in facebook there's groups in the neighborhood so you can ask to be connected to a neighborhood group that's in your chance area and even if not just go and put out. I'm looking for a recommendation for blank name. Their profession that you're repeat for often in this will already have been done so if you go in your search by and just put in looking for a recommendation for which profession you should see it. Poll up in the feed history and All of your friends and their friends. boom boom boom boom boom boom. You'll see a whole list of the nationals. That were highly recommended from so many people who come excited about it. It's awesome are gonNA tell you you're taking taking taking me to school on this one because You've given me a spin on the idea that I hadn't thought of people ask me about social media and I always tell them on. A big fan loves social media. It's a brand builder. It's not a way to get new members but you've just described away that I think is a way to get potential. Visitors remembers to a chapter in that is to say what profession you're looking for get on the social media and say hey do you know a good whatever and then invite them to a chapter. What a brilliant idea only to change my answer a question because of this discussion madeline? That's a really good suggestion and the happy about that. Thank you I call this one factor. Meisner I call this one stack day on a platter back data platter so then what we do after we get this whole list of many any professional in that same profession I Chris like so that they can see me and then I private message them and just say hello. You're highly recommended by late. And then I put the name of the person that recommended them and then I invite them and it's results in uh several people in the same profession rush coming to your meeting on the same day and this results in higher percentage rate of people submitting an application. It always does because when they see their competitors in the Roma mcbrayer gives them motivation to submit an application. And you know the worst thing is you get to pick which the best bet which is which is the great problem to have as then guess what you get to do help surrounding chapters with the other people you bring up a really good point madeline chapters at this point. Just let the person fall by the wayside but if you other chapters nearby they're going to do the same for you which builds your chapter. That's a really really really good point. Everyone make note of what matters said. That's a really important point so I think we got time for one more and I really like this And Frazier uses uses. Before I hang up tell me about that one here so have one profession top of your mind that you want to add your chapter now every single conversation let you find yourself in in person or on the phone you finish up your conversation just before you leave out before I hang up. Could you recommend and a great lake if they say yes. You've got a warm lead. You call that person so and so highly recommended you. Would you be my guest at a business meeting. I'd like to introduce issue now. The key the key there I think is you also have to get the person's name that's making the recommendation. So whoever you're talking to at that moment Get their name so that you can tell the person selling so I met at whatever location. Right talk to them online and they recommended you personally so you still. It's IT'S A it's a you know a kind of a lukewarm referral but it's still a referral which is better than just cold calling people by far great suggestion. I never heard that when Madeleine. Senator Elizabeth Warren is wrapping up her first presidential campaign. "Representation matters today on the world. I'm Marco werman. The most diverse US congress ever was sworn in today. One new member is Ilhan, Omar that I saw Molly American congresswoman her campaign was a turning point for this. Minnesota voter kept on saying is there's someone running them looks exactly like me. And what I said exactly like the I meant skin color. I meant that he jab also new to congress Rashida to Lebanon. Michigan's new Representative was sworn in wearing a tobe. It's a special dress handed down to her by her Palestinian mother. And that's inspired women across the country to post photos of their toes has now they finally feel that they can express themselves openly and embrace their culture openly. Representation matters the stories ahead on the world. I'm Marco werman. This is the world. Good to have you here today. The one hundred sixteenth congress of the United States is now in session. It's the most diverse congress ever, and we'll hear why that really matters to people all across the country today that's coming up, but we're going to begin with this other historic moment. The honorable Nancy Pelosi of the state of California having received a majority of the votes cast is duly elected speaker of the house of Representative with a one hundred fifteen. Pelosi and the Democrats are now in control of the house of representatives for the first time since two thousand twelve they've promised tighter oversight of the Trump administration, or as Donald Trump has come to call it presidential harassment, but oversight is what congress is supposed to do. According to that thing called the constitution. So practically what can the new house? Do. We'll use the defense department as an example, Michelle Florina was under secretary of defense under President Obama having congress exercise oversight of defense of foreign policy of how we use the military. How we invest in the military is really really important. It's it's very important that congress hold the executive branch countable for the interests of the American people. Typically, what happens is they hold hearings. So for example, if there's concern about a particular operation like Yemen or Syria, Afghanistan, they might hold hearings and call. Both civilian and military representatives to testify, but they can also use the power of the purse in terms of attaching language to the budget to try to influence how the department's spending money both operationally and in terms of investment. I mean, practically speaking it's checks and balances just like we learned about this. You tough can be though, even though it's healthy. Well, it can be very tough. And that they can pass legislation that can block administration from doing something that it wants to do for exempt by cutting off money or by imposing a hold on an action until certain conditions are met. So it can be difficult. I think in this current environment very very important for them to the new congress to to focus on how the US military is being used. I know that there's plans to give particular scrutiny to our involvement in support of the coalition effort in Yemen with President Trump's announcements of a hasty, and sort of seemingly impulsive withdrawal from Syria. You can expect hearings and probes on that. And then now certainly on Afghantistan given that he's talking about cutting the the troops in half. Even while we're trying to negotiate peace with the Taliban. You know, the question of what's the straps? Deji? I think that's a legitimate question for congress to ask. So those are some of the issues for congress dealing with Syrian Afghanstan you served in the defense department..
