It was just a coronation of the history of bucks basketball celebration of of all the great players who who have been a part of this franchise and now to see yanna on top of the world is incredible this week. It was so much fun to be able to watch. Nba finals and nothing gave me as much joy with the exception of once. Nick always nick. Bobby portis being an nba champion. But nothing gave me as much joy at seeing. Marcus johnson going down the street and milwaukee with his shirt off doing the jr smith incredible. How and he's kind enough to join the show right now. Shirt is still off but we appreciate you making some time. That was incredible man. What was going through your mind when you're going down the streets in milwaukee with no shirt on well you know it was just kind of a spur of the moment just going with the flow kind of thing but what really happened. Was that Brandon jennings the author of an originator of books and six. He was like a car ahead of me and he was. He was slamming beers. He must've slammed about twenty beer. That's where the guy maybe just and he was taking his shirt off and to the crowd. Brigham another shirt. He put it on slammed with you will be so he kinda got me into spirit. You know with with the exception of the slamming beers part. I don't drink anymore. I could probably out back in the day anyway. So i started taking my shirt off and you know it just good to me and and i was playing some like the bottled water. But i'll i can handle at my age and But but but you know it was just a fun time and we had a ball. I mean i don't know how many hundreds of thousands of people estimated was out there but but it was just ducks and it was. It was so much fun and my family. My wife and particularly headed had probably more funding. The guys and the people were on the sidelines. Cheering us on ladies and kids and all that so we had a ball. We had a was great. Pj tucker talked The team was full of dogs. They just didn't know that they were dogs. Are you a dog. Do you know that your dog do you need. Pj tucker to help you become a dog by while y you peo. No i you know i don't need. Pj's health is not a dog in my own arena. Now just the broadcasting acting writing tele arena just tedeschi to go out there and getting the tough and get knocked down back and and get up and keep coming you know. And that's the pj means and so pj for me was one of the key acquisitions. And i told john horse that just on stage on as we went to the deer district Right after the parade and the throng pants and tell john horace look man you know that was a cute bringing on. Pj of course you holiday great acquisition but but in terms of this team's ed's pj gave. His people walked on stage with two magnum bottles of champagne. And he's you know he's he's within spitting. he's he he was post them on twitter. I think we get off the air man. He was more animated talking to dip team. Did the he was playing. I mean he was just out of his mind but but what a great great guy talked to his mom at the championship celebration in the locker room and i just got a lot of respect for him because you know he understands his role better than anybody maybe in nba history and he didn't get out of his role. He does what he does and he relishes doing what he does to perfection. Marcus johnson joins the show. He might still have a shirt off after the milwaukee bucks parade ben lines for rich on the rich eisen show Such a crazy scene out there. It's incredible story the milwaukee bucks winning an nba championship. You have a special place of course in your heart from a walkie having an all-star there for many years. So what's it been like for you to connect with the older fans the ones who have been through the rebuilds and the terrible seasons losing and the getting close and the conference finals and all the moments throughout the history of milwaukee bucks basketball. What's been like for you to connect with some of those die hard older fans who are getting to experience this and i just give you kind of a an example. Would he put a is down to my broadcast party. Jim paschi thirty five years as a milwaukee book announcer got there after new championship years. Obviously and then. I'll tell you what the lear walking He contract with kobe. Nineteen a couple of weeks ago still dealing with the sentencing and participate in any of this. How how crews payton for having that happen to him but yes. We're the t shirt with a heart on one side and did paschke's image on the other every fun. This is the answer your question but all the fans Who were from my era the oldest fads or they do it to jim jim. But it but it. But it's such a strong connection. Because as you mentioned franchise seen some good teams. I mean michael. Bid baker got to the conference semi finals. Michael rare those guys. I think they've got to. They've got to the finals or bucket. Short gets the sixty one year. Whatever it was a lot of close calls along with my my era. With the with the larry bird and the doctor j. six hundred celtics could never get until it was just a a vicarious kind of a thrill to be able to experience this with these guys when i was on stage with the guy. This is kind of how i really felt. I mean i just took. I took a seat back garvan ham and and people were like. Oh no come in. And i just know i just wanna sit back. The two dads enjoy the moment but just allow me to be a part of it and that's kind of how you know that's the could've kind of how the oldest fans feel. This is your young fellows but man. And she's like i don't know what i was thinking. She had so much fun at that parade so just experienced that with the family. It's is what it's all about man just to be able to share in the moment and shared these kinds of lasting memories man that That will be indelibly indelibly imprinted on on the consciousness of my kids minds forever. Marcus you've been a hollywood guy for a long time. Now you've had a lot of success in film and tv as a writer producer as well. What if i picked you a story about a kid from greece. He used to sell trinkets on the street. Who ten years later came to the united states and became a basketball. God would you believe. Yeah well you know. Probably not you know. Had to share a pair of shoes with his older brother because they couldn't afford to parents and he got one parent and two or three of them. Shared those shoes together The mom and dad did tremendous job. They did. Dad passes away at a young age of four years ago of a heart attack unexpectedly. And you know and all this kind of stuff just happens. For this two brothers those two brothers that shambles pair of shoes on the same team. This you're able to share this moment together. I mean it is such a a wonderful wonderful american success story and then you talk it. All often. Janas cookbook as humble. You know he's got he goes. Don't get me wrong. he's not he he's got an ego you don't have that kind of greatness and not have ego but he is such a wonderful person genuine person to be around and it's a story that's going to get made i you know i tried to. I tried to talk him into a friend of mine. Michael star decides buddy A great writer write the story but he'd already gotten to buddy on board to have that him but you know then the past is now trying to make make that story and what a fitting not the end of the season but but it's one of the cry back to his his life of his career and So just just beautiful. the way. it's worked on fifty years since he wouldn't championship. He dropped fifty exactly in the closeout game. I mean you. You couldn't have scripted it. Any better marcus. We got the birthday boys in studio here chris. Brockman and tj jefferson trying to put down where we now affectionately called the jaanus which is a fifty piece of nuggets and half sprites. Right half lemonade. And they're not even getting through ten or twenty let alone fifty in markets. It's not going down. Well i i appreciate the thought but the execution going to be really really tough. Doug his duggan now that the parades over there is a fight. That is leaving milwaukee today a direct flight to tokyo and it's got devon booker jrue holiday and chris middleton on it a very uncomfortable flight i would imagine for devon as drew and. Chris probably still smell like champagne. Yeah what was going to ask you. What was it about those two olympians that you just enjoyed watching throughout this entire bucks run. Well the mini. I enjoyed devon to. Don't go don't get it. Twisted devon was. i mean he was just approved But for most of the playoffs kinda cooled off get in that game six but Do and and chris. Obviously it was game. five In phoenix yeah. That was the game and that was a game. But you know the drew took over in that second quarter. Chris took over net third. You know and and and they've done it all throughout the playoffs. Even though drew and one point had the lowest affect google percentage of any player with a certain minimum of goal attempt so he was struggling. Knock down shots and i told us pops i was like look sean. I'm loving with you. Bring it to the table. He he's gonna hit show at some point but even if he doesn't what he's doing defensively and distributing the basketball and and the to court and then christmas. We're he's another great story he's a he's a guy that was you know unheralded coming out of college. Second round pick went to the g. league throw in in the deal from detroit that That brought into the walkie. And here's a time all star. nba champion. so i i'm so Just elated for him to have the kind of success he see. Now this is the summer of morgan's magic urge joe. Morgan coach red sox manager not the cincinnati reds. Joe morgan but as my father affectionately refers to our joe moore. He's the manager at the time and my dad was good friends with joe. Morgan phillies to this day. And we went for early hitting. This is the time at the ballpark before batting practice. Right so batting practice usually around. Five thirty is around three o'clock in the afternoon. I'm the only person in fenway who doesn't have a jersey on ten years old amazing running up and down the right field left field line. Getting foul balls is a kid's dream. I mean how lucky am i. Most fathers would take their ten year old. Who might have internal bleeding to professional doctor but my father thought it was a good idea to continue to stay at the ballpark and we were lucky that night to have seats by the dugout. Joe morgan's throwing me ice packs in between and down the red sox one two three. We'll be back for the top of the fourth as they throw ben and ice packs sitting by the dugout. The game goes innings. No way again probably wouldn't keep a ten year old. Who might not who might have internal bleeding game. Probably wouldn't keep a normal ten year old at the game through innings on july night. Jack clark hits his third home run of the evening around one seventeen in the morning. Eight as a walk off. From jack clark homerun number three. I can't really remember but we took a field trip to pittsburgh and river three rivers stadium and they take us to the dugout and were standing there. And we're allowed to kind of you know mill around in the pirates. Play in clubs. And i've got this yellow pirates batting glove and me being me because of always been like this. You put me on the field. I see bill buckner. And larry bowa having a catch. I stroll right up to the two of them and ask them. Hey could you sign my glove. And larry bowa signs in that gupta bill buckner and he looks at me and he looks at the dugout and he sees my entire class of like thirty kids. He goes not signing for all these kids. I think the only one who's unafraid. To come up here. And he was like all right so he signed a glove and gave it to me and him boa went back to having a catch and then a few years later he gave me one of my greatest sports memories of all time as an eighty six mets fan. So thank you man. I told you my memory of that event day was my dad. Passed out the shower to sleep with shower setup twenty-seven musclemen and he was knocking down one by one. All my musclemen action figures. My father had a whole table and he swears to this day. In land in orlando there was one muscle man that is still standing on that desk on that table. Pass down the shower. That's he's asleep over the to. His credit came back to play for the red sox again. I believe after that happened in eighty six buckner should be in the hall of fame. Let's be honest brockman hall of fame as such different ideas hall of fame. I mean you right. You can't tell the story of baseball without can also never struck out three times in a single game lifetime three hundred hitter. Almost three thousand hits bill buckner hall of famer but remembered for one thing. Wow bill buckner had almost three thousand hits. Yes that's impressive. I used to be one of those. Holy grail numbers in baseball. Right i would still is. I think three thousand three thousand hits might still be the last holy grail. Maybe three hundred wins. It's hundred home runs. I mean that's that's everybody. Twenty seven hundred against kenley jansen and the dodgers is. What was that last night. I will say that was ridiculous. It was ridiculous. But i will say kenley jansen kinda got screwed. The dodgers got hoes last night Should have been a called strike. Three on a non a check swing first base. Umpire wasn't having it. Dave roberts immediately tossed and then jansen proceeded to give up a two run single right after that but dodgers got hose but they do have a closer problem. I don't think we can be the closer going forward. I was always having dinner last night and mala buna restaurant that it looked like it had half the real housewives of every tv show up forty five dollar chicken and i heard the scream from the bar and i thought of vendor pumpad dropped martini kenley jansen given up another own run you really ran the game with your with your meal stat. Rock and culver city. Locke's making the rounds. I'm like picking up. I'd the from the numbers went to rocco making my house last night. Oh the dodgers didn't cover who's lying. She's running numbers right now. Notice there's one of us who's not eating this piece in the studio today getting cold to in a row though for kenley so as a real issue going on yeah. That's honestly like baseball. I really feel like is the one sport you have to find the moments of magic things to rally around the game. It's such a grind. It's every day. And for the for the san francisco giants to take three out of four from the dodgers in. La commanding first place. Lead big for the giants. The opposite end of that spectrum was last. Night at fenway park. I'm sure your dad texas you about it. It wasn't a ridiculous game. Suddenly boston can't score any runs against the yankees. All of the sudden about to lose their third straight to the bombers. After winning the first seven to begin the year kiki hernandez has an amazing it. That after alex do go and bobby dall back get on base boom tie game three three miraculous tenth inning win after the yankees score one in the top half just tremendous in those types of things not that the red sox needs turn around by any stretch of imagination. But it's something they've done all years. Come from behind win games and just another one against your rival. Let's propels you and helps bury them. It was awesome last night. What goes in the end of the year highlight tape when you if the red sox win the world series and they make a documentary about the season. You have to have moments like last night to fill out the tape. Yeah so it's only july got action bronson calling in and a little bit about forty minutes or so away from bam lava very much looking forward to that beautiful man olympics begin tonight live from tokyo on. Nbc plus stream the biggest moments from the games right here on peacock get live coverage original series daily highlights replays. And more when you sign up go to peacock. Tv dot com slash olympics get started. South's out to my buddy salima. Masekela going to be covering the surfing over in tokyo before to that and talk olympics next ben lyons rich on the rich eisen show. How did you get into beach volleyball. How did you get into that. To begin with. I grew up in santa cruz. I went to stanford playing into revive my whole entire life. From when i was baby and santa cruz till iowa's stanford. I avoided beach volleyball. Because i look like an idiot. I was so ashamed to my skills. I felt good indoor. And but i played in the in two thousand and then i didn't want to go play in europe and so misty may trainer misty. May at the time was looking for a new partner. She was my idol. Anti said i might as well put my ego and check and give it a try out and one tryout changed my life. I met my future husband that day and met my future partner. Who changed cy. Swear to god. So who's the best athlete. That's not technically beach volleyballer. That you've been around. Try it and who could be really damned good at it. Oh have you ever been around like another basketball player or somebody here in the south bay. Luke walton plays a lot free. Yeah he's he loves sport so they're down. I don't know what street they plan. But they're playing all the time we used to have pickup. They got their buddies out there. We used to have t. v. Tuesday night volleyball pete carroll be out there and all of our friends. Richard jefferson plays south bay. So you know all the nba players like when they retire. They should come out to. Our sports is because they're so physical obviously as long lawsuit. Pete cowl was out there. We play right in front of his house in hermosa and ghana has wife had come out. It was just a good time. That was when my boys were young. I haven't done it in years. So no kidding sunsetting yes. You're you're hermosa glistening over the pacific ocean party and then all of a sudden pete carroll's wife comes out with some played six on six. She was back row superstar. She's really good about the mindset and the enthusiasm yeah and we'd have like these special. It always felt like there was a celebrity athlete guest. We had some track stars. come out and Yeah our sport is for everyone. But i really do like when the ball basketballers. Come out and play. I know that all the nhl who live in the south bay and the kings. They love our sport. It's like the ultimate cross training plus ultimate lifestyle. And it's a blast. It's a blast. We need to get you out. I just don't know if i have the the hops. Well then you have to be craftier. Always work around. How can i be craftier. Is it a-. Well you might get my service game going or something you gotta get serve. I mean just like with anything if you have the fundamentals down so you need good ball control ball control than you can just be ninja place. The ball serve. That's a good start. Okay but you just gotta be able to pass the ball from my best. Part of my game is rotating the substitution part in the armor with us attitude. We got going on right now because right now you already defeated so i will have you coach. And but not play deadlines here on the show for rich on the rich eisen show had an absolute blast this week. Radio making tv trying to find musical moments after two thousand five hundred. Press mike del tufo sports moment in the eighties. It just really didn't happen. Saw moment last night. Kinda west in the mercedes. Benz stadium Well let's he wearing was breakdown conde's outfit last night bill where he had a man. He's been he's been masked like we all should be for for when we're in public but he's wearing the full max. Signers took the keys on the red. I love the minimalist approach to it last night. He's out at the fifty yard line just danson mercedes benz dome down in atlanta man. I missed everything last night. Apparently a miss jensen. I miss like the ida blackout in my set too much. Fun with that Pepperoni knowing's combo rocco's today from my block had a blackout from seven. Thirty to about eleven thirty was the perjury i had. I had my own version of lucille baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire by the door. And my party skirl the villain. Old school mask ready. I was ready to go. But it's weird man just sitting in the dark it's weird. That's weird nothing. That's the only place that stuff right before the birthday to emotion. Like should i should i drive said passes your garage somewhere but no the garage doors open. You can't get out so lily and your bike got stolen. Stolen go anywhere. Then though. Yeah and i and i looked out my people my door and it was pitch black in the hallway. I said you know what i'm cool. These three candles and sit here and wait. What did you think jason from friday. I'm down for whatever mike i'm down for. Whatever like if. I was going out swinging. That's how i i had home home alone. Booby-trap like the balcony. The front door the windows dancing in a football stadium miss kenley given up a bunch of home runs even though the dodgers today coming out and saying it's our guy who are in a ride his kenley jetson thing out roberts the second game in a row and and you miss this news about michael thomas. I will surgery An interesting june. July surgery. Decision for michael thomas going to be out for the foreseeable future for the saints. What you what are your thoughts on that brockman. You're making lots of kevin. Durant contorted faces over there know. He's the newest addition to the seventy three. He is welcome k. D. to the seventy three cub tj. And i welcome you with open arms or you're making kevin dairy. Kevin durant faces over there. You could well when i when i think about michael. Thomas actually gonna look at this from a pure fantasy point of view. One of the most prolific wide receivers. We've had since he's come into the league factual not so much. Last year obviously missed a lot of time with the with the high ankle. But then you look at drew brees gone. He was drew brees. His favorite target hit hit him on those ten yards. Slants in the red zone. A beast davis winston. I don't know what that's going to look like in new orleans for twenty twenty one. So when you look at michael thomas and you think about it from a fantasy point of view now. He may miss part of the beginning of the season. How many weeks is that. Is that all of september. That bleed into october. Not sure think. I'm passing on michael thomas. And letting him pass by several rounds. If at all figured take a step back from a fantasy point of view because like you said drew brees not under center and then you throw this on top of it but just from a a real football point of view a real football point of view. Why are you waiting so long to get surgery on your ankle. If you knew it was jacked up wouldn't have done that in january so you could be ready for the start of the season. So does that mean. He's on his way out. We have another because there was rumors. He was disgruntled. To begin with kind of in new orleans. Interesting we've had a lot of mobility from the high profile received was in recent years the odell change teams. Julio changed teams. Now you might see. Michael thomas change teams. I don't. I don't know if i don't know if the ankle getting operated on in july is anything other than the fact that maybe they tried to rehab it and get it right. Probably is really makes acupuncture water. I dunno meditating crystals just being more holistic and healthy. Yeah trying to do it though. I mean anytime. You can avoid surgery. That's a better course of rehab thousand thought process. Perhaps but add it all up to what's been going on down there. The last couple of seasons. Not a good recipe for mike. Thomas future new orleans. Just clears the runway for another season of tom. Brady domination now. Michael thomas out in new orleans yacht. Big question marks carolina. This is just in the division. You've got kanye west dancing at the fifty yard. Line for the falcons if anything i. It's probably good news for atlanta. Now that they can kind of move up to a to slot in the division with kyle pits tight and older more continuity New head coach new offense coordinator like let's go down there trying to find another team in the nfc that i get really excited about to challenge. Tampa bay well. Let's presume that i mean. There is devante atoms in green bay news but like let's assume that him and aaron rodgers are back for twenty twenty one at least just one season. Why aren't they contenders again. Can we run that back. I think because you know being present is is the key to success and if these guys already have a foot out the door and yeah they're running back for one more year in. The news broke today. That the i guess. The contract negotiations with with adams have stalled so to have them back for one year knowing that it will be their last and they're already thinking about what's happening next year. I don't know if that's the the recipe for success as feels like very combustible a lot of ways. They are the only contender. I can think to challenge tampa bay in the nfc. Not not in love with seattle. Not in love with the ram. No the rams lose can't makers you don't know what that stafford's gonna bring you. You think it's going to be better than golf. But you don't know there's so. Many question marks their their division is the toughest division in football. You don't think san francisco bounces back. I mean they were. She stay healthy well huge question mark if they are crafted his replacement. Who's sure so you got a rookie now. Running that running the show seen them confidence. Tom brady and his white pants and july. No nobody okay. Why do that. i'm fired up for dallas. T. j. fired up for these cowboys. This year always payment always know. Here's the deal. A lot of people wanna like crap on any sport fan who act like no. My team's gonna win my team's gonna win even though you might not. I kind of look at it like this. If you're going to so much your time and your money and just your emotions into sports like you said. Do you think the knicks win your lifetime but every basketball season. Are you hyped. Are you ready. Are you excited to watch them. Do you go. Expectations are tempered. I'm just hoping for no former legends to be arrested in the oscar winning directors to be allowed to sit in their seats. Thank you know things. Like that is what i cheer for. I mean i do. I believe every year. We're gonna win the super bowl. I mean no. But am i going to say it every year absolutely because football and it's fun in it sports and we're supposed to be fanatics and we're fans so yeah. I'm gonna the grizzlies draft. A guy who on draft night has rock the vote on the inside of his jacket and the knicks draft guy on draft night work as fortnight on the inside jacket really gets me fired up out to kevin knox. He's still on the team. Think so probably go in the wormhole rich. I actually like as soon as i saw this man have a fortnight blazer. I draft night. I said nope another kinda andrews he does he does. But the thing about ben's he's still a fan still watches the game. He'll thinks that they're going to win. Yeah there's a lot of people the basketball world who are disappointed with the olympics. Finally here in canada's run not getting all the way to tokyo. We're not gonna see rj on that olympic stage again. The rj barrett. Stand going on right now and it was born the day i graduated high school. It's destiny it's in the stars. My dad was leaving. i got my diploma. Because pedro was pitching in the bronx somewhere in canada. The future of basketball was being born. You don't minnesota. I'm just trying to think washing richest big on washington. Just huge on washington. But we had peter rosenberg whose a member of the seven to three club. Happy birthday peter out. I heard i heard your interview with him. On the radio on the cubbies riches. Absolutely crazy fans know that their team will never win. It's the people aren't offended that team. Who have high expectations chatting with action. Bronson about twenty minutes or so looking forward to that. It's been lines in for rich on the rich eisen show. It's i think the bucks are probably gonna win the super bowl game. And i don't think it's a foregone conclusion inside quarterbacking forty nine years old forty three years old very old. It's going to be some question marks there. But i mean they just they. They look like they're ready to go. They're going again. They're ready to go. They just we said that the taking the bucks to the super bowl. Now it's gotta be. Brady's gotta play so everyone is back then already too. So it's like okay magin if something does happen to brady that bucks. D is one of the top diesels league that why receiving core of godwin evans in ab who. Let's not forget you know. He had a few missteps. But if you were to tell me a b. was the best receiver of the two thousand ten to the twenty twenty then i. I'm not gonna argue that that point with you so you have those guys who have gronk. You have the defensive of the line. Maybe they could survive for a few. I'm not saying they could win the super bowl without brady but maybe you know they could have little stretch there. If something were to happen to tom. I think that they could keep that. That's ships. their division is so bad for them that they're going to have six games right there that are that are very winnable. Easy games You know they didn't get last year. They lost in new orleans You know this year obviously going up to new england which is going to be a a great night of football. That is much watch. I think that's the most anticipated regular season. Nfl game of all time anticipate nfl guest of my lifetime. Something does not know the story in eighty two. The fact am nervous. But i'm trying to think of more hyped up. What the results. Not the fact that michael vick on his first monday night game look over. The eagles look like a video game. Not the not the outcome but the actual anticipation leading cabrini on back especially if both teams are three. No do you think mark wahlberg. Oh come out and introduce the game like he did a few years ago in a very ill-fitting tight. T shirt promoting is protein bars. When you're net. Jack is anything ill-fitting high performance gonna come out there and how long patriot time like jfk. How those pets love walberg the phone with him to open up a grocery store and screen patriot day. He has a protein bar company with draymond green. Until that's next lions in barich. Ben lines in for rich on the rich eisen show. I remember the scene in funny people. When i think it's seth rogan. He's talking to aubrey plaza. They want to go to the concert. He says so. Do you like music. That's your line but apparently jut appetite stole that. From mike del tufo because in the ninety s era known for great sports and then i use it. Exactly thank you to foes is out there in jersey rolling up on people's saying hey check out my arm. Do you like music mixing down at the jersey shore before the jersey short line like a little bit deeper on this win. Did you get it. I got to tell you what i had known you. At least i five six seven years. Before i even knew the you you just popped open your shirt sleeve one day here a few years ago and i was like what does that on your arm. And you're like oh. I have a tattoo it says music and i'm like you want you'll be the last person on earth i would suspect i. I had a girlfriend that she was a big tattoo. Okay took all it took like a month or something and then so you said it's very large so you decided to go straight arm if you heading hidden under like a polo shirts. You didn't want like your shoulder or your leg or anything. Not everyone says the back years like really painful. You're you're looking at least pain possible. Exactly surprise you didn't go in and say i'll take the donnas hasson please and get the entire state of florida tattoo on your back. The true story. This is i ever got to a tattoo. Feel okay to tell this story today. Because it's his birthday. Shout to sean carey my oldest friend. Jacques street we were. Juniors in high school went downtown. We were very into chris. Herrod massachusetts four fall river gene rates. Great sports books of all time. We loved that story. Chris was a figure of inspiration for us. Showing up. uncle was an assistant coach on those fresno teams out there with jerry. Arcane at chris played on with rafer. Els rafe allston. Melvin eline some characters on those teams. So my buddy. Sean would go out in the summertime in high school and train with those guys and he gets a no chris erin. Wow so in high school. We thought it was a really good idea to go down to union square in new york city and find a tattoo parlor and get the chris herren tattoo now. I thought we thought it a good idea. But sean was the one gonna get the tattoo and again happy birthday. Jack streets his birthday and he got the chris herren tattoo which is his name in gaelic writing and a shamrock on his arm. But it turns out that. The tattoo. That sean god is old english writing. So it's not the exact same and then a four leaf clover which apparently irish people just are. Not fans at all so. It's kinda off hoops and twenty years later. I would have it. He showed that yet. Tattoo to chris herren and the look of horror on herons that he had inspired someone at a young age to make such a was horrifying then he was reminded that wow chris could have inspired some other poor decisions so there is the worst Other okay but it's always great when he busts out the Carries still hasn't even bother. You can get you can remove some process processed closed you ever think about it. Ever thought about it. Not once i. There's nothing. I want permanently on my body me out. I can't. I can't imagine not a big fan of the pain. I have no problem needles but not in. It wasn't as bad as he fought the idea of like all when to get this thing that's gonna take. I'm gonna just going to sit in this chair. Seven hours while they take that long depends what you're going to see some really good ones out in vegas. My favorite one was the chicken nugget on the forearm. And the barbecue sauce on the by sap so you would dunk the nuggets. That is fantastic. Those are. I'm actually like just the other day was the five year anniversary of the only tattoo i ever got so i got it five years ago like this week. So what'd you get the process. Now i told you guys before my nephew at nine years old passed away. So what happened is when he turned on his eighteenth birthday i went and got his name tattooed here boy split at two and his name tattooed here on my forearm emotional connecticut or something in your life that's part of your life journey and it was very challenging for you and still is to to this day. That's obviously very personal important or you can get music or i would tom brady. I should give on this arm. Because i love tom. Brady no stuff. We like tom brady the way you now loved the lakers. It was one of those. I remember going to forum. You know he would go. I am nate. Now's in beverly hills and see dr bazi jerry and all the gang. Linda rambiz all go down to the forum so many memories. Hang out there. The forum with diane sharon and jack. Every laker fan gives you the resume. Of course. i've learned that in my short time in los angeles is there for shocking kobe. I was there for the allieu. Apparently staple center holds a hundred thousand people. Do you know that the night that. Kobe scored sixty points in his last game. There are two hundred thousand people. Abel's one hundred and fifty thousand so true. The new york that used to be when we were because people would say they were everything like you into this. You went to that and back in the day. It was like do that. But i've been at every it's like i don't lie about it. I have proof. I feel like with tattoos. We used to have our cats more people in the studio nick. Casey where the camera guys they've got a bunch of weird tax guys crew guys are always gonna be crew guys have a lot more than music on their arms. I also feel like the human beings who can wear shorts in january in new york. And it's all good. I don't know how would have a few. And then i saw all of a sudden it'd be like pete davidson. I would just have all these weird things like bought a being or like the the junk man he'd be like jr smith having deceptive con on his chest right. Or like abraham lincoln mattaya polish. Cross my neck. Get all this wheeling who has Who has the moji though. Look the one hundred emoji. Like i feel like that would start how this is awesome. Let's go get that. Like the looking. At the caddyshack trivia thing i would get the gopher back england it has a real connection to your journey to your path to the souls in this universe who have connected with yours. That's a beautiful thing like you don't like The the girlfriend names other than mom is fine. Dad mom like his amway member like girlfriends last. You're going to be getting that ink. I would have to gotta removed. I mean years ago. When i was still living in pittsburgh i decided i was going to get a to remember mad line. Of course. I didn't take absolutely mad. Line his his album cover. Was this line. Because i'm a leo. This line with this wild maine. And he's got a gold tooth and smoking a he smoking cigar and so i was going to get that mad. Lions tattoo on my casper. So i go. I'm in pittsburgh on carson street on the south side me and my boy gary go into this tattoo. Placers one tattoo guy. We sat in for like half an hour in that thirty minutes. Gave me time to think about it. And i'm like do. I really love this much strategy but then anton instead or should i go with mad lion. What was going to be mad. Learned of j. rue the damage. It you know. But i go with from that guy's doing well first time in history richeisenshow of the damage mention jay. That is oh pro. J. heads blase. Blase guy accuses in the house. Yes in the house so my blase blase whole john. Wallace and the weight l. mcguire doing the dance after. We'd be georgia. How at that time that there was a record that was hot. New york syracuse. When great run ninety six national championship game john wallace. They came out with the in the house. Shirts really great enterprise. They had gone to their name. Image and likeness hashtag accuses in the house so my syracuse tweets. Just the other day when behind army won the tbt. What's up shoutout. Eric stephen door so blase blase. Yeah there you go. ill remember. That team had the thin. Kim strapped beard back then otis hill on one of the is like one of the all time greatest college players in my memory just college so we went to the league or anything like that but certain guys you know you think of ed coda hydro at kota. Yeah you know. She holloway seton hall. Certain guys who in my eyes are just such hooper's but never made it all the way you know going back home in the nba. Homecoming of sorts. Iggy bay equal. Technically home is philly. We had him. I got finals. Mvp in golden state entrepreneur. Scratch golfer in the bay. Didn't learn how to get up. And down from the rough out and philadelphia. Learned that out in southern california andrea del. It's a nice pickup. If you've got some left in the tank for them i think that's the golden stake. They didn't really do much the big question. How much does he have left. Not sure but golden state Didn't add a lot. They kept their draft picks. I think they're just re really relying on clay coming back. And wiseman developing. He had a late season injury but coming back as well lose nami poppy by they develop jordan pool and they look to get clay back healthy staff. Of course the extension don't sleep on golden state all of a sudden and they've got some flexible deals you package wise men and wiggins might be able to go out and get something. They lost jaren collins as an assistant coach. I was bummed to see that jaren One of the great guys in the nba heading down in new orleans. We just saw have to pray to the basketball. God's klay thompson can stay healthy. Oh goodness oh my god just not good for the game. When you got a guy that now i do enjoy his videos kayaking in this airplane cisco was living. I asked to practice. His father is one of the most fascinating people on the planet on a national level. How interesting michael. Kayaks to practice. Yeah you haven't seen the video guys. This is what we do here on this show. Google k. klay thompson kayaking to practice. Just like i'd hop in and take you know. Go down lincoln. You take ten minutes you get to work. He'd hop in his kayak paddle to the rita's right there on the water Kayaking to practice michael thompson. This this video is ties. From march thirtieth. Twenty twenty one on youtube klay thompson kayaks to practice again but gets derailed by some scary missed in the bay. That's not a. That's not click bait. Then i don't know what is back loading so it's like i said the other day guys warriors fourth best championship odds for twenty twenty one. Twenty two ten to one bringing andre iguodala a champion as a situational defender a couple of series to throw somebody out labron in western conference finals. You need if mellow goes unconscious. Mellows like eight of nine for three. I guess we'll put an iggy. I breaking emerge in case of emergency. I guess you know speaking the warriors going to a movie tip tonight for the next three days in gardenia. They're showing the warriors in the drive in theater in allie. Considering going one of these wars the old school warriors. Yeah here's another thing to put into your google machine because he can find this one. Chairing because the game is not going on america. You hit me. I wanted not direction. John green was solely run in a kind of like. Oh i hope don't around doesn't think as me right so so the diaries hand because he john green fifty dollars and he hit me so was just drunk having fun which everybody does that silly things but you know cost me. It cost me tons and tons of millions of dollars. But your friends with the guy who who hit you with the beer. Absolutely this is a reason why this is the reason. Why reach out to him. Because i i don't like to hold grudges you know. And then also and this life is bigger than getting hit with a cup of bear against the spending losing tens and tens of millions of dollars and You know life is bigger than that you understand and things happen and move on how did you. How'd you find him hundred. Find well when i got suspended from abroad everybody hated me. I was still young. You know in my own mind. I had like three four personalities at that age or herring things. I was just going crazy at that age. And then i'll say you know. I need to get rid of this. I need to feel better by myself. So i reached out to go on twitter. I said hey if anybody could find his pitcher. I'll take you to lunch. I didn't put the name. Because it was john green and i didn't want people to think rana tested reach out to john. Green started five. You know so. I'll put the picture up. And this guy said i know who that is as john and he found him for me. He gave me his number. I called the number from direct message and said this number has been changed. And then it gives you the right number right so and so i don't make no sense why they do that back in the days right suber your not cold call the number i said his ron can i speak to john. His wife insist and she says after she says. Stop playing games. I said serious. This is run and then she said. Hey john ron's on the phone right like we are friends. It's a funny story. I wish we could have found it. John answers the phone and this is this the guy who threw the cup at me. I can see why he's crazy. He answers the phone says. Hey ron what's up. Like he knows me you understand. Hey what's up. How you doing very sorry right away. It was me like he just knew me. I would have i would. I would have paid anything here. that kind. It was amazing. It was and he said you know what i'm sorry about what happened. Did he told me the story about the bed which lyle like. It made me feel so much better about that situation. Gray run our tests shopping. It up with rich is in back in the day. On the rich eisen show ben lines in for rich and i remember watching the malice at the palace live watching the game cranes unfolding and then all chaos broke loose and it's one of the wildest things to ever happen during my lifetime a sports fan and it is one of the incredible documentaries that are part of this five part docu series event on netflix called untold and the footage that they're able to on earth at the nba had never allowed to be seen again or out. There is just incredible. They're five great documentaries in this first batch and we're joined now by the curator and the filmmaker behind several of them. Makwei joins us show. It's great to have you on man. Congratulations on this thing. Finally coming out. We've been hearing rumblings about it in hollywood for a long time. How do you feel that we're on the verge of untold finally being shared with the world. It is exciting. It it it it. Has i feel like that is if we have any rumors about our show is always the which is like man. This is still the same one you guys are working on. It was like yeah man one But no we are like unbelievably thrilled and excited to finally get these out. Can't wait for tuesday for our mouths in the past episode drop. It's gonna be fun. I remember we first connected at sundance for the battered bastards of baseball right and then you went on and did this incredible series wild wild country which is just so fascinating and then now you have this project and honestly it was kind of like the great white whale this ideal though. The way brothers are doing this. Sports thing with netflix. And nobody really knew what it was. Everybody was fans of your previous work. But what was it about this series. What was it about this approach to having multiple stories That really grabs you and inspired you as a filmmaker. Yeah absolutely kind. Kinda nailed it. You know our first dock with on a netflix documentary on a minor league. Baseball called the portland mavericks that my grandfather had owned that was really our debut documentary in our first documentary and then we kind of right after that jump headfirst into something that was like one hundred eighty degrees in the different direction. You know the brush per annum story of this cult that had built this hundred billion dollar utopian city in oregon and kind of ignited warfare out there and then that came out. You know like a lot of options. I think truthfully we're probably pitched like every colts story under the sun so after a while the kind of our i started glaze over a bit but sports is just like we're huge fans. Sports documentaries huge sports. hands ourselves I was a very mediocre left handed baseball pitcher that topped out at like seventy eight miles an hour. So maybe there was some wish fulfillment on my part to to get to talk to real professional athletes and work with them And that's a great partnership like basically we started out with our mardy fish documentary but ultimately just expanded it into a five five sports documentary films volume one And we wanted to kind of make a big splash stocks and see if we can add something. The conversation between way joins the show the emmy winning producer and director. part of this new series untold for netflix. Ben lines in rich on the rich eisen show are super producer. Chris brockman as a mardy fish connection. Yet it's not great. It's not great mardy fish. Is you know phenomenal golfer. In addition to being a at accomplish tennis player played in a charity tournament with marty a couple years ago he singlehandedly lettuce the first place which was a free travel bag awesome. I my first mardy fish story. is that I was like all right. Let's meet up and he's like great. Let's go to cap. Sue and brentwood. I ate lunch there every day. And i was like. Maybe he's been like a little hyperbolic but like we go in and the place isn't even open it feels like they've like specifically open it for him and he gets to order the mardy fish role. He has his own sushi. Roll named after him at that cats. Pretty blown away But he's been unbelievably fun guy to work with Our connection with him is like a weirdly. Are high one of our best buddies from high. School is the american Tennis player sam query. And we don't talk about this often but we were embarrassingly a part of the samurai which was sam queries fan group. We follow sam around at tennis tournaments and cause a bunch of problems. And we had a lot of ruckus but we got to know. Mardi a bit there. We're super excited partner with him on this one back way joins the show. I was saying before you jumped on. I had a chance to watch the mouse at the palace one. I love documentaries. That i think going into them. I know everything about it. I remember watching it live. I know run our test. I've talked to steven jackson about this. I'm a basketball historian. I know this but you're able to show us different sides of these men different sides of this story that i found myself just connected to it in a completely different way. What was it about this story. That obviously inspired you as a filmmaker but what challenges were there when you knew there are guys in the audience like me. Who are like wait a minute. I know everything about this already. Yeah for sure. It's a great question. And like ultimately. I think it came down to a couple of things. One was just like our faith i it's similarly like i remember when mouse and the palace happened. It's one of the few sports events that you can kind of share those stories about with other people about where you were and what you were doing when it all happened so really it started with our conversations with germaine o'neil who really wanted ha ha ha had wanted to do something on this for years And it's really kind of where the theme of untold came from. And i feel like the the the subtext to untold is. It's not necessarily that. These sorts sports stories haven't been covered like they've been covered and talked about for sure. But at least we'll talking germain and having faith in him and ron and steven jackson that they hadn't been told through like dare. Pov's like their perspective. And that doesn't necessarily mean that we did these puff pieces or anything but we definitely tried to like edit score. Put the audience on the journey through their lands. And that's what. I'm super proud about. I think the other thing that just drew us to this is just like the unaired footage we were able to get We were luckily filed a freedom of information act like the auburn hills police department and they have all these camera angles. That were fascinating. I never seen on youtube and it was good quality And at that point we felt like all right. We have like some pre awesome unaired footage. That's never been seen. We have these great characters who are willing to be like raw uncensored vulnerables sometimes like at times they admit fault but at times they feel like a lot of blame dot putting on them as well and felt like all right. We have enough magic here to go make some special mcelwain joins the show until the new documentary series on netflix. From years next week finally after many years in the works. You hear rumblings about in hollywood for a long time all the way brothers. They're working on this new untold thing. Now it's finally coming out one of the stories centers on caitlyn jenner. And i would imagine. It's a challenge as a filmmaker with a subject like that to put the story to bed. Because i feel like she's in the news continuing to make news every week now What was it about her story that she really wanted to shine a light on. Because there's obviously so much there when you're talking about caitlin jenner. Yeah you know the interesting about caitlin is like a. she's one of the few. You know i- conic celebrities. I think in our country were different. Generations have so many different. I don't know if Opinions is the right word but just different like a different content. School ization for her. You know like For someone like my father or my mother like they remember kaitlyn in nineteen seventy six montreal games you know destroying decathlon over forty eight hours breaking the world record winning gold and then i our generation like honestly like it was more of a keeping up with the kardashians like reality tv star like i had some understanding of what she accomplished at the games but didn't really have a full. You know idea of what that story was similarly. I mean it. It's not the most exciting answering the world but ultimately like we went to the. I o see the olympic committee and they just had like thirty hours of like this esteemed sixteen millimeter film. Following jenner around at the games We approach caitlyn and talk to her and she kind of expressed you know Similar things what. I talked about which is like hey for for the idea for her to go back and talk about the blood sweat and tears and athletic performance and what she did to win golds with our footage. Felt like you know man. This is a great opportunity to kind of almost reconceptualise. One of the most famous people in our countries origin story so to speak way joins the show the series is untold ben. Lyons for rich on the rich eisen. Show one of the five that are coming out in this first bundle. You had a chance to direct along. Chapman called crime and penalties. Tell me about this one. This one is is is one of our favorites. It i i say with a smile on my face and giggling my voice because totally it's different. It's it's i think it's probably most comical documentary. We've ever made which it can be tough to pull those off But it's essentially about a man named jimmy galante. Who was the math. A huge waste hauling figure on the east coast. Rumors abound that twenty. Soprano was based off of him And he has this son named jake similar to the show And aj was this high school obsessed hockey player and in the last game of his high school career. He rips his knee tears. Acl and can never play hockey again. And so what does jimmy. His father do He buys him a minor league hockey team in the united hockey league. Of course there called the danbury trashes because of jimmy's waste hauling business And he instilled seventeen year old son. Ha as the president and general manager. And it's usually at that point that i like to say and madness ensues. They were that they were the self titled batboys the hockey they basically stacked team with bruisers and bullies and enforcers and they just Violently beat up on teams and one games. And i don't want to give away the ending of the dog too much. But the federal government comes in gets involved and ultimately the team is disbanded by the federal government. Which i don't think has happened too often in professional sports so For us it was just too good story and characters and guys just to to fun to Too much not to work with corruption. The federal government hockey. You've got mike del. Tufo ten bucks man infos all in the battered. Bastards of baseball is one of my favorite sports. Docs in recent memories. I mentioned that we connected out at sundance when you guys premiered the film. It's been a few years now as you've been talks of maybe a scripted version of the story. I feel like it's so ripe for a continuation of this world because it's really unique time in baseball history man. I'd be the first one to buy a ticket and go see it. I would love for a scripted remake. A batter bassett's back. Like you said. I love those characters. I love that setting north west nineteen seventies. The ballparks that these guys would play and they'd take a bus to these games and they ultimately just kind of lived a dream as live their dream on like a low level of professional baseball With really out any gr- you know dreams or illusions that they would make it to the big leagues but they still find a lot of happiness. I would love to see it. Get made i we i out of sundance. We had partnered with a company that had bought the scripted rights and tried to get into development. It's it's it's crazy you know. We're we're on the documentary world. And i think like ninety percent of the reason why we're in that world because we can just go get our cameras. Go call people. Go find interviews. Go get archive footage and we can make these things scripted. World's a lot lot more pieces to navigate their But at the end of the day we'd love to see that made last thing i'll leave. Us you mentioned the idea of as documentary filmmaker feeling empowered. We don't need to play the hollywood game he can just go out there and shoot something. Now that you've immerse yourself in. The world of sports is five. Part series makes its debut next week another five episodes to come hopefully by the end of the year or very soon. Are you trying to do something completely out of sports next or you now fully in great engulfed in the world of sports storytelling. You see that for your next project as well. That's a great question. I think that like we chase the stories. I you know i i do think with with with untold Were really excited to hopefully build something here that that that that splashes in and that people dive into and watch the super excited volume one and volume two and as long as it works for. Netflix will keep making these for for definitely a long time. definitely with the i five and and and still working on it today We're very hands on. We had a great team of collaborators directors and editors and producers that really all pull together But yeah no. I think i i. I think we're excited still. Keep our hand in this in this little Sports industry but hopefully Also find other stories that need to be told because we'd be ripped always really excited to go that as well as someone who's a fan of your work and just a fan of the genre of sports storytelling. I'm so excited for this to finally becoming out after all these years. So congratulations and shake things. Time ma'am of course. Thanks so much. Revenue mac way joining the show part of the behind untold. Which will be a huge deal on netflix. When a job next week. I know we're a little early on on the rich eisen show and these films haven't come out yet but trust me when you see the documentary about the mouth of the powis. You'll connect to that event in a different way and i think that's the great thing about sports storytelling is that we know these games. We have relationship. We think with these players but then a great filmmaker can show us a different side of a great sporting moment or an athlete. Who's impacted us and it has us as fans connect too much deeper thoughtful way so looking forward to audiences seeing that and we've got some celebrity birthdays coming up to round out the show. Plus tj is going to break down one of the great moments of this year's olympic games when we came in this morning this dude. Put me onto something that i said. Wow that's with. The olympics is all about del. Tufo shocked j.'s. Actually contributing to be right back. Where do you wear medals and you keep them nearby. The first couple of weeks and months because a lot of people do do like the them. I wouldn't say. I take him to the grocery store on a regular basis. And you kinda gave michelle to foia some side. I when she suggested that maybe this was your last olympics. I love michelle. And i've always had my my i spent on paris than I think i've been pretty clear about that over the past several years. I have my goal yet for paris. All i know. I want to be there and i want to compete. Say but for right now. Nobody tokyo point twenty one thinking beside johnson. Who watches dad shirtless. Celebrate the milwaukee bucks win. What was that like for. You might have to get them ata. So i don't know the eleven by now he might get banned too good for sixty five. So did you reach that point when you like. Let me see if i can take the for most of my life. Dad wasco when i was like thirteen fourteen giving a bucket giving them now. Work one on one thankfully thankfully His parents and did a great job of documenting all his game. So i'm giving you know everybody in the league buckets doctor. Jay black korean shot with got on his phone. Now remember other. Brian came to play to ucla. People ron i pull back with him. Block and kareem. This o'brien yesterday came out of the restroom again. Beautiful facilities here. At the rich eisen studios had everything needed and the world has changed at them. Aside with the lakers by purple and gold jersey. now look at the instagram with the lakers l. I moved to los angeles right around the time with kirk gibson. Hit that home. Run by brian. And i at the time. We made our money to cross country gambling on the mets in eighty eight. I had just gotten a divorce and had bad numbers on every street corner in new york and he goes. Hey let's move to la. I i went okay. We've got ceased to the mention dodgers day lost so i dropped it all whatever i had left on oakland in game one then i always ask. Why why after thousand off and couldn't catch up to ten straight fastballs. Did you throw him back. Door slider no one can answer that. Not even with gipson one hand honest dodgers one and i was broke and that's my first week in. La well established that this was a one off. You know i got a. I got a call from jason music. Visit soccer thing. And like if we do we get to go to england for three whole days and then they gotta fly out to a divorcee primarily game later when the season starts oh great this is the best gig ever. They really liked. It apparently did very well for them so they come back to another one the next year and by that point then we really starting to like it like this is just flat out fun to do and jason really clearly loves his character and we just wanted to find a way to keep doing it. Six months after that you're in london again for substantially longer than three days. You're on the show filling in for rich rich of course part of all the festivities happening this week. It out and ken charles woodson weekend. They're calling in ohio. what a what. A great opportunity for the state of ohio essentially just to say. I'm sorry the charles. Isn't that great charles woodson backout. First time i oh i met charles woodson was at the old was. Nfl network on the old show before we were over here Just doing the regular podcast. you know been with visual long-time so charles woodson comes in rich go. Oh hey this is my buddy chris. That weekend at the charles woodson. I love coming in the show early. Because you guys you such a great job giving me prepared for the show. You know we're going over information stories numbers. Tj says to me. Hey you see what happened in wrestling. And knowing this crew often like the friday was thursday night raw like wrestling talking stone cold comeback. No i'm not interested But what happened in the world wrestling. Yesterday we'll just first of all thursdays belong to impact wrestling just so you know in case you were wondering that the watch my boys. The good brothers. Get busy last night but no gable. Stevenson states heavyweight wrestler. Out of the university of minnesota. He's a guy who's been pretty famous and well known since. I believe he was in high school. When i you know. His name image likeness. I'm sure is going to blow up. But he pulled off something that i was going to go down as one of the all time. Great buzzer-beaters in history. He was wrestling a guy from georgia. Not the state georgia but the country of georgia and with ten seconds remaining. He was down in the match. Basically this guy scored with one second left one second left match over and he wins the gold medal for america in olympic wrestling. In you know it was pretty amazing to sit there and watching you know. I'm still not that sure. I remember back in high school during gym class. We used to have like a week or two weeks of wrestling off the worst fall. And what was actually worse for me. Was we lineup. Alphabetic order my buddy. Tj hallman who another tj. Who's like the star wrestler on. The team would always be standing next to me in every morning when gym class started. He just kind of reached over and tap me on my shoulder. Let me know all right. I'm thinking you get this. So changing mario me take a star wrestler on the team. So i i literally got twisted up like a pretzel everyday for about three weeks. Jim about the The head of athletics. They're saying singlets put them pellets. Pair them up and wrestling by alphabetical order. Not by size. No and i got up by. Ben you guys are going to rescue and you. You got ben by fifty pounds but You guys will figure it out. But yeah gable stevens. It's incredible beater win doesn't highlight and and what i was telling you. This guy now has options and like what does gable steve sindhu now. It's been on the wwe's radar for years. So does he turned into kurt. Angle who know twenty five years ago one olympic medal with broken reconnect as he turned into henry so who go to the ufc. Or does he does. He go the traditional route or to musical theater. Is i wouldn't say that in front of him ben. I wouldn't call it musical theme that's what it is. Come on man. let's give them a little bit more. No i live a lot of people punch you in the geysers real. I'm at the idea of g-go hollywood and be an action star pop up fast ten expendable or go to route where you're actually like continue to compete. And also there's another way like anyone knows carlton haselrig. Who is actually my god system michelle's husband who unfortunately passed away last year six time. Ncaa division two in division one heavyweight wrestling champion got drafted by the pittsburgh steelers after not playing college football and made the pro bowl and third year. So gable has options man he could go the ufc wwe or maybe try the nfl routes. Can you imagine a war room on draft night in the nfl. fifth round. We go to this with lineman who is alabama. How about the wrestler. Who's never played football. I do she go with him but who won the gold medal. That's interesting dogfight. Rounds round. Like i said carlton became a pro bowl guard in his third season for the steelers. You know this. It's going to be interesting to see what the olympics last night for. show. I appreciate you sharing me. Real wrestling highlights production meeting. We've got some fun birthday today. Brockman when we got History fara history ninety three fugitive release. Which obviously we love. That film was a lot of scary scenes in daylight hours. Hard to do most scary movies. It's at nighttime. There are few in the fugitive. Obviously but when it's daylight out and you're terrified that always gets you kidding me when he's going through the one armand's apartments wasn't me it was the one are may light our daylight here. You gotta watch morris because once you figure out what happened at the end then you go back and you start to pick up everything. Yeah oh where he was like. That is a movie you have to watch it. Minimum m night had so much success with that film that basically bought him ten more chances to make a great. Yes and it's a good business to be in. Sometimes it doesn't work al lady the water. Sometimes it does work outside so you know so. You look filmmaker. He did something great once. I'll give you ten chances to go again. I see old because the premise looks wild. Yeah i knew. I knew he was. You did not you need to actively figure it out and be a step ahead of twist rather than anyone could also people by the way the movie with the biggest twist for you. What was the biggest surprise ending for you guys to sled that. At the end of eddie. The knicks won the playing the hornets. One again actually madder. They went onto the nba playoffs. I think it was a one game playoff coach or they don't show you an eddie is at the big game in the end. It comes down to well. The knicks beat the hornets for a chance to go to the playoffs to the eight seed and they got swept by the bulls. Verifier migas forty eight. Today was just watching up in the news. I like very for megan. She had she's had a great career and she was so good film. That film changed the way i travel. I'm on a mission to collect miles. All i'm consumed with or care about is getting out. Sam elliott to come out of pilot as a pilot and give me a little card. Sit down and congratulations. you're talion mom. We had a table and ginger spice sat next to us the table. It was like oh wow spice girl a little starstruck in the club. I remember really good question for tj. Because i know you're early days here in los angeles. You spent a lot of time at the club. What is the most starstruck you ever got out the most starstruck at club. Well i used to go to. This club called las palmas in hollywood back in the day. And if you ever looked at the playboy and like the second third page of playboy they'd always have like a sex who is out out out and about you always see half table with like twelve girlfriends. And i remember like going to las palmas to watch my boy. Dj am just tear it up rest in peace. And you'd walk in there and you'd see you know half with with with his crew and you just kinda stood there like. Wow this is real. This is real. This happened in two thousand. Four this jerusalem blasting the taste so loud for and. I'm sure i'm sure there had been other other times. I was more starstruck. But that's just the first thing that popped into my story. When i was starting to club already told on the show wearing a sweater. It was granny weekend. I saw not only. Did i see jose canseco in the nightclub. That's not really got me super excited. I saw ozzie canseco tonight. Oh my gosh. They hold with britain for most home runs brothers in major league baseball. I think it's jose with four hundred and eighty and ozzy was zero. The record for most home runs with brothers. Baseball has actually played meaningful games. So much can saco talk on the show this week. We gotta get him on next week. We gotta get some fanny packs of masks one. Send a swag. Do you think that's possible. There's only one hundred left so we don't want him to give out his supply of zero career. Home runs hero. Yeah better better. Career ozzy can saco chris smith. Jr smith brother got two million dollars now to play for the knicks. This up i would say. Christmas prego paid more. You ever ozzy played in games. I mean only seventy four hundred either another member of my all starstruck in the nightclub team. Chris smith saw that guy out about on crutches in a nightclub anytime you're to cast in a nightclub time to go home. You know guys. I just realized something. I remember the time i may have been most starstruck class time. I think it was like two thousand nine. I was in a club. And i happen to walk in. This is so weird. I happen to escort club because it was time to go on one hand pulling me was penelope cruz. The other hand was shakira. And i'm kind of walking them through butter in new york and like everybody turn. Have you ever been show. You've been the butter it's in the basement. It's really packed. And i'm trying to hope these to kind of get through the crowd and everyone just turned around and staring at me with penelope cruz and should carry now like this is really really weird so many questions about this angry that we don't have another segment coming up to know so much about this one. How why would you assume that i'd been to butter. Your man about town your new york royalty. And then get in. That situation where you've got shakira and penelope cruz. And now you're in a situation where you have brockman and to fault. I mean like. I remember earlier in the week. I told you. I peaked years ago. That's talked about jerry. Jones johnson and powerful men the only thing that haunts their souls regrets. I think that's a nice way to book. And the show starting with the hall of fame talk of regrets. You'd had success in power and you've been on top of the mountain and now here yards yard east jerusalem. I'm still on top. That was a why because no matter what you got music. Yeah exactly you got music along need to every every weekend having in speech and the other nineteen that are happening out in canton. It's incredible weekend. And i really looking forward to to rich His coverage of the show of all the festivities. Obviously what what's going on we. What's breaking news. Brockman does a tattoo. I sell it hurts out.
