The latest in sports
"AP sports, I'm Bruce Morton. Iowa sent shockwaves through the women's college basketball world. It held off previously unbeaten defending champs, South Carolina, 77, 73. AP national player of the year Caitlin Clark led the way for the hawkeyes with a semifinal record 41 points and said this game wasn't just a win. It was a showcase for her sport. I'm sure so many people wish this was a series of 7 games. That would be really, really fun. And I think we continued the series. It might go one way or the other every single time. The game Crocs aliyah Boston said this wasn't the way they wanted to finish, but they still had a season to remember. Just winning. 36 games. I feel like that's unbelievable. Sunday, the hawks will meet LSU, which took over in the fourth quarter and a 79 72 win over Virginia tech. Alexis Morris was game high with 27 points for a Bayou Bengal team that made it to the championship game for the first time in program history. Maybe the standing champions at the end maybe I can just let go and just be like, ha. Next up, the men's final four on Saturday with Florida Atlantic facing San Diego state followed by Miami versus Yukon. Pro basketball, the Celtics continued their push for the top seat in the east by besting shorthanded Utah one 22 one 14. Jason Tatum came through with a game high 39 points. Each game presents a different challenge. And so whatever we went through today was probably not going to be as hard as what the players are going to be like. Other NBA winners included the Knicks, grizzlies and sons. Baseball Jorge solar and jazz Chisholm each Homer to give Miami a two one decision over the mets. Dave ferry has details. So Lara put Miami ahead in the second inning in Chisholm provided insurance in the 8th. Jesus luzardo combined with three relievers on a four hitter with lizardo yielding two hits over 5 and two thirds. The Astros came from behind to beat the White Sox 6 three, and the rockies won at San Diego four to one. First Martin AP sports

Rep. Barry Moore: Trump Indictment Is a Chance to Heal the Country
"Does Trump overcome that? He's still going to have that challenge if he's the nominee going into 24. Well, you know, one of the things I tell her by the process that I went through, the lord says that fuel humble himself, if yourself before him, he will elevate you before man. And so I pray that president Trump gets to a point that maybe the lord does a great working is hard. I think that there's an opportunity here to heal the nation and to reach people that we haven't reached previously. I mean, think about it for many, many years, minorities in communities have claimed that the justice system was weaponized against them. If they step back and look at this for what it is, they see that we're all engraved danger if they can go after Donald Trump, they can go after us. And so we'll see. But we need to pray for the president, but the process I would not be here today had not been through that process in 2014. So the lord of break you to make you to shape you and sometimes you go through some tough times, but I just want the president and his family know that we're praying for him. We're going to support him and I think the American people will show up as well and we'll have a one heck of an election in November 24. Well, and one of the things that got you through it is your amazing spouse. And I know it's not the first time you've heard it. Man, you outkicked your coverage. Brother, listen. The ham sandwiches were her ideas. She's like, hey, let's hand them out. And no doubt, man. The lord is we were a great team. And she's a comms major ran my campaign for your charge. That's how we were able to win with so little money. And one thing I want to mention to people that are paying attention, the speaker rates and how that played out, the Republican conference up here in D.C., the members of 70% of us are new since Trump was elected. So there is a different move in the country. It's more about the American people and representing them and making this nation great again. And I think we need to continue to grow that movement to get behind the president and push back against this weaponization and the attack on liberty that we so appreciate. And Joe, and sometimes I think honestly, take for granted in this country. Well, then

The Outrageous Absurdity of a Trump Indictment
"First of all, let's remember, Trump is being indicted for campaign finance violation. He used campaign finance funds to make this hush money payment and he altered or his company altered documents in the process. And guess what I was prosecuted for, a campaign finance violation, where, in New York, and so a similarly frivolous and if I can use the term trumped up type of charge, a charge that Trump points out in his case is never normally brought against anybody. And the same was true of me. There was no single example in all of U.S. history of someone like me, first time offenders, small amount of money, $20,000, no quid pro quo, no corruption, even alleged. And yet here I was facing, again, not a misdemeanor, but a felony, same with Trump, they're trying to take this campaign finance violation, which ordinarily would be a misdemeanor and bootstrap it and elevate it to a felony. So the whole thing is illegal sham. It's a show trial. And I remember when I met Trump after my pardon, it was Debbie and me and our family, and we were having a kind of a heart to heart. And I thanked him for the part and he goes, yeah, I didn't actually was the right thing to do, but then he said something else. He goes, well, gee, he goes, it wasn't that hard for me to grasp, they're trying to do to me what they did to you. And at that time, this was actually 20 19, I believe, yes. We were I'm sorry. It was 20 2019. We were talking about the we were talking about the impeachments. So Trump at that point was facing the possibility of a second impeachment of which, of course, came after January 6th. And but impeachment is, although it's based upon the idea of a quote high crime or misdemeanor, an impeachment you don't go to jail. You just lose your job. You're just tainted. It's almost a political type of black mark. But now Trump is facing a criminal charge with a left wing judge and a left wing jury. So if the January 6th defended snow what they're up against in D.C., Trump, I think, knows what he's up against in New York. So this is a very bad situation. It's unprecedented, think about it. This is the first time in American history that one party, the party in power, is trying to lock up the leading candidate of the other party,

Biden to Russia on detained US journalist: 'Let him go'
"President Biden is urging Russia to free a detained U.S. journalist. The message is simple. Let him go. It's the first time an American journalist has been detained on spying accusations since the Cold War. The Biden administration calls the charge ridiculous and the targeting of Americans unacceptable, asked if he'd retaliate by expelling Russian diplomats or journalists from the U.S.. There's a Veritable School Choice Revolution in the U.S.
"There's a veritable school choice revolution that is rolling across the United States. And I think it's going to keep gathering force and gathering momentum. And here oddly enough, we have COVID, at least partly to thank. For two reasons. One is the extreme restrictions imposed under COVID convinced a lot of parents. This is outrageous. The government can not do this to our children. We parents need to kind of take control of our children's education. And not delegated to the schools. But number two, you also had parents for the first time having their kids learning from home. And so parents realize, look at the stuff that they're teaching our kids, look at the indoctrination, look at the craziness, look at all the sexually explicit and perverse stuff that's being propagandized on our kids and parents are like enough is enough. We're out of here. And so, of course, one option is homeschooling, but that's not practical for everyone, or send your kid to a private school, but that's often expensive. Remember, if you send your kid to a private school, not only are you paying the private school tuition, but you then also are paying taxes, property taxes, and other forms of taxes that are funding the public school, so you're really paying twice.

A lot of the staff they've listened to the show, they get the podcast and it's been funny because they'll be walking by and they're like, wait, wait a second. I hear you, but I see you. And apparently I'm a moderate fall risk. Who do you? Everybody's giving me a hard time about that. Well, you can tell them it's just because of the drugs I'm not as experienced as you. Voting rights effort targets those held in jails across US
"A voting rights campaign is focusing on people held in prisons across the country. People serving sentences for felony convictions lose their right to vote, detainees awaiting trial or serving misdemeanor sentences do retain that right, but face barriers. One vote can most definitely make a difference because my one vote could be the vote that actually get that person into the office. Skill in just became a first time voter. Why We'll Remember This Banking Crisis As a Turning Point for Bitcoin
"Going to kick this off with another piece from Michael Casey from coin desk called this crisis will define the future of money. I think the title of the piece is pretty self explanatory, so let's dive in. Michael Wright's ten years ago, a strange new digital currency called Bitcoin caught my attention for the first time as its price surged during the Cyprus banking crisis. Local authorities had infuriated Cypriots by slapping a 10% tax on withdrawals, unwittingly encouraging some to warm to the idea of bankless digital money. I'm not alone in seeing parallels between the past week's events. Again, Bitcoin's prices rallied on speculation that stress among U.S. and European banks will open people's eyes to the leading cryptocurrency censorship resistant, intermediary free qualities. But if this is Bitcoin's cypress moment, the context is very different from 2013, with crypto now embedded in public consciousness, negatively mostly, the industry faces its biggest ever test, one that involves an intensified struggle with the financial establishment. The community now has a narrow opportunity to seize the day and define the future of money. Echoes of 2008, 2009. Recall that the Bitcoin blockchain was born out of the chaos of the 2008 2009 financial crisis, with Satoshi Nakamoto's immortal timestamp on January 3rd, 2009, inscribing a headline from that day's London times. Chancellor on the brink of second bailout for banks. That crisis highlighted how our dependence on banks to run the plumbing of our money and payments leaves the entire economy vulnerable to mismatches and banks investments in liabilities, which can undermine their ability to honor deposits, and it showed how the largest banks whose interwoven credit exposure create systemic risk exploited their too big to fail status. The idea that governments would always bail them out to protect the economy, to place asymmetric high return risky bets. It showed how Wall Street and other financial centers in effect hold our democracy's hostage. Now with the collapse of three high profile banks, hundreds of regional banks facing worrying outflows, the U.S. Federal Reserve creating a new backstop facility reportedly worth $2 trillion, and Switzerland's Central Bank bailing out credit suites to the tune of $54 billion, the echoes of that prior crisis are loud.

Who Is Reporter Heather Mullins?
"I haven't introduced you at all, this is the first segment, you know, if somebody says to you, okay, Heather Mullins, what do you do? Who are you? What's your story? How do you describe yourself? You know, it's crazy. I feel like my story is always being written every day is a new day. Currently I'm a reporter and I've been a reporter for about four years now prior to that. I was actually in banking and finance for quite some time. Everything from retirement planning and just banking in general, but I've always wanted to go into journalism just because I feel like I was always that kid in the classroom Eric that had my hand up asking questions and that's really the fundamental thing that you need to be able to do in order to be a good journalist is to ask questions to think outside the box to not necessarily buy everything but to look a little deeper and a little further. And so my career really took off after the 2020 election. I went down to Georgia to cover the recount because Georgia turned blue for the first time since 1992. And it was only by a margin of 12,000 votes. So it was super close. They were doing all these recounts, and I went down there to cover it, having no expectation of what I was about to walk into for all I know, the real story was Joe Biden won case closed. But that is not at all what I found out. There was fraud. There were ballots, thousands of ballots turning up. There was issue after issue and I just kept documenting it and eventually a copy attention of then president Donald Trump, who started sharing my work on Twitter and other social media platforms and from that point forward, I couldn't unsee what I'd seen and when you, when you see your election process so violated and you realize like if we don't have our elections, we have absolutely nothing

I'm gonna keep following and making sure that you know we keep those haters down because cap. I wanna ask you something. I mentioned that. The dodgers are good against teams under five hundred and they're pretty crappy against teams above five hundred out those teams that are above five hundred. How many times did they face some bull healthy and then as far as worrying about the giants and all that when the dodgers were healthy from may to june twenty nine and mind you. The giants were also healthy. Buster posey Crawford stella they had a full lineup. They're all healthy. And the dodgers where six and three against him different wasn't for hitchcock's the umpire. The dodgers would have had a winning record against giants right now. They've probably be down two games. I don't wanna do that either because we could do the week at play. The wall of an did this or that the health care the health part is more a more of a valid concern. But i mean i'm trying to. I've been trying to comb through every game because there's no like one night nice and neat spot where you can find that I would say that of the winds are of the losses. But we'll see what happens when i get to june so stay tuned for this. Let me just say something here so look. It's great that you're calling. You're saying hey man i wanna rip you about this but these are just the stats and the stats are the facts versus five hundred teams or teams with less than five hundred records. The dodgers are killers. Their winning percentage is almost seven hundred. Their forty three and nineteen. He's also pointed to facts though. Is it a fact that they were healthy or not. Those are facts to. That's not question really good question. I go well what. What would you attribute to not being healthy l. z. is my question. What would that like. What type cory seager series. Mvp available not having a regular slot. Then the whole season is is is shouldn't be discussed if that's the case that we can't do that either. But here's the thing into the caller's point here's a think you're you've gotten mookie betts back. You've gotten cory seager back. You've added sherzer. You will add trade turner at some point. Bellinger has got to come out of this. The point is is that the dodgers are in position right now being only a few games back to to really still palce. Okay the giants by the way. This weekend are playing. The brewers. the brewers are for real. So listen everybody's been waiting for the giants kind of come back a little bit dodgers. Not everybody is that we said elsie not everybody. Well i know. I certainly have been thinking the whole time like well. The giants are gonna come back. I have as well. But i'm done thinking that it. There's all right. Because they went by getting kris bryant. They've gotten themselves better as well. And they haven't come back. But the dodgers if you had to put your money on somebody right now given mckee back given back when kershaw comes back the addition of sherzer when trae turner joins us the. The dodgers have the roster. There's no question about it. I'm just giving you the legitimate numbers which is against winning teams. The dodgers so far this year are twenty two in two thousand five. That's it right. And here's the thing. Here's what i would add. And i'm gonna i'm gonna to do a maximum right here. So i still got love for ks during the broncos and i'm glad you do two brothers so thanks for calling in in row the boat. Yep cucamonga nhs out there. Todd one of the cucamonga rancho representing eight seven. Seven hundred ten. Espn if you wanna keep coming for his last show we will. We will take calls on the dodgers conversation. We were having as well we got. We got some free agency news. So we'll have that for you as well stick around. We're back in one minute and forty five seconds. Today is the anniversary we have an anniversary. Here we love talking to anniversaries. We also talk about sex baby. Talk about you and me. Thirty years ago. Song was released thirty years ago thirty years ago. Crazy you thirty years. What year is this. Twenty twenty one correct nineteen ninety-one salt and pepper had a nice little stretch. Their man they did. They had a nice run now. Would you have guessed that when the song push came out that they would have had a nice run though. Absolutely not no me neither. I thought that was a one hit. Wonder maybe two hits right. We surprise to know that. I thought it was that that of course would have been like me. I'd be like oh. These girls are hot. This thing's happening push it push bill good. Yeah it's things built to last because because one of the things was that while push it was a fun song lyrically on okay. You know this is. This is cool. You really talking about nothing They evolved in their lyrics. Negru let's talk about sex. I mean that was i mean. The group is nice but they took some real stuff too. Yeah so i think. Part of the reason money lasted. George and cat was that they were willing to grow as the listeners. Grew yours thirty freaking years nineteen ninety-one whoa thing that that went flying by man. I'm serious thirty years. My goodness. i'm just having a hard time kind of put it all together. I was thinking about where. I wasn't. Nineteen ninety-one universal where you've nineteen ninety-one. Yeah i was. I was a student at the university of pittsburgh. And i was. I was trying to. I thought i was going to be an nfl football player. And i was you know everything was headed in that direction. And then you know like a bad game happened than an injury happened in reality happened and then the rest didn't happen. I was in junior high. I was in freshman year collars trying to do more than just talk about sex investigative reporting. If you listen you know that was clearly a precursor to your own work. Let's get to the bottom of this. Why are we talking about it. Exactly what are you gonna do. I so real quick on free agency. Bunch of the guys joined mason in ireland earlier today and maliki bunk said he was excited to learn how to attack from russell. Westbrook and look. I didn't. that's cool malinche mangas. Twenty three years old russ russ as a mentor type or do you think that like he doesn't i mean he's always been good with his teammates. If you're on his team you're good but like mentor. Type is different from being like a good teammate. You know what. I mean I you know it all depends on how you know maliki monk needs to learn you know all of us have our own sort of system or method of learning that we gravitate towards or as more natural for someone who's a tactile learners right actually touch it to note that the fires hot some visual learners some people audio learners. We just you tell us we got it so a piece of visual learning you know russ doesn't have to be active to give up close view and he says sits there and watches and he can learn from that but if you need someone to like set them down and talk to them step by step. There's been nothing throughout his entire career to suggest that he's not willing to do that. But to your point george. I don't hear a lot of kobe type of stories where he is getting one on one mentoring. You know what. I'm saying right right right right. I haven't heard those stories doesn't mean that they're not those stories. I just i just haven't heard those stories me neither. So that's why you and i have spent a lot of time covering the league and you've probably eventually something like that. Exactly you know you would have heard one of those stories but again. That doesn't mean he's not doing it. Oh and it doesn't mean he's not capable of doing Moving forward already years old nor nor does it mean that know knees him to do it to learn from them correct although he doesn't need to learn how to be more little more consistent. There's that but if you have somebody that you would like to model your game after and you now have a chance to play with that person. Practice with that person every day you can either try and talk to them go. Tell me. tell me this tell me that. And they go. Hey listen you like quiet down and just watch after a while that there is. There's gotta be a little bit of that. But but still i mean what an opportunity you know if you are around players of this magnitude and you're trying to elevate your game and you look at them and think you know. I think mine could be like his. Well then watch listen learn. Ask don't believe me. Just flach yeah. I can remember being a little kid and there was a guy like a carpenter. Somebody in my house. One day. And i was really really interested in whatever it was that he was fixing and i was asking him a million questions you can imagine right and and he said to me he goes wanting you just be quiet and keep your eyes on what i'm doing. Which was his way of saying. Hey hey kid would you shut the hell up please. But it was good advice. Because i sat there and shut up and i watched what he did. I don't know what he did..

"That might require to make it. Three hundred million guaranteed. I agree. I mean listen. That's why i'll just use another example but when you look at how the padres signed for nato tease. It sounds like a lot of money. Three hundred and forty million dollars over fourteen years but in five years. That's gonna be a bargain contract for a player like that. Assuming this guy stays healthy with yeltsin. I think josh allen is one of the fresh face young stars of the nfl jay z. Locked in beyond say early when she was doing destiny's child Just like that smart. Move smart move. Mixed l z. Since is your last day. And i don't think that anybody else is going to be able to talk about this. Suicide squad came out in theaters and on. Hbo max last night. I really enjoyed it. But l z was it overrated or underrated. Whatever the radio gets from the public is under whatever people think is under a viola. Davis name isn't mentioned in the oscars. I'm gonna be mad. She is so damn good in this movie. Grega my lion. No she was fantastic. Tastic do you know how hard it is to be fantastic a sequel because we already know what the character is. We already know what you're about. So in order to take va- performance from the first suicide squad and had me leaving going down girl. You did that after you already did. That just tells you a loan from an acting standpoint. how mazing she is but overall. I thought the story was solid to humor is fantastic. The special effects are wonderful and the opening scene in my opinion is the best. Dc opening scene since the dark night. Okay all right now greg. I didn't see it and and government came out last night. I was at a concert last night. A buddy of mine's band. There called easy win there are grateful dead tribute band and they were celebrating. Jerry garcia's birthday which was august first. So i was out last night. You know little estimated profit california. Yeah i was out dancing and doing my thing last night. you know. Didn't say gee. I thought it was fantastic. It was. I don't like most dc movies or really any of them. Dark knight was really. America doesn't based upon the right exactly but this was so good i loved it. I was laughing throughout it. I was intrigued. I actually didn't even pick up my phone throughout it which is also very rare to do during any type of television or movie situation so i thought it was great things like you said. The humor was spot on john. Cena had me cracking up. John anger girl. He look good man. I love none of margot. Robbie harley quinn is just there a couple of moments as you watch. Hbo max with a theater hbo. Max i was like i know great pause right there he falls. I was like what. See looking at paul's right there. I love john there you go. That is over two hundred. I'm back guys by the way roy high. Let's get to the phones. Yep people want to say you know shutout z. Before he goes today why is it. La one oh yeah you guys hear me sir okay wealthy. I am going to miss you tremendously. I haven't called in too much. Because i take this route. That goes over the canyon. And i lose you in and out but i just want to say listening to you. Always in And george you know talking about basketball and the eye test like that that detectives.

"Signs. Come on doll anyway. So that's why. I'm at the excited for old. By the way sorry cap i am. I'm interested in old but there's a part of me that one is of. I saw the whole film already already. These previews little short man. I'm i'm piecing this together now. I don't like previews all right. Sorry about that cap. Go ahead all right. Don't worry about slightly just so everybody knows. I've got a horse running del. Mar watching it on tv g right now. They're about to just load up and go in. I got the one horse at four to one and laura. Because last time i had a horse running. You gave me a hard time. You're like dude. How could you not have a wager on your own horse. I just bet on the horse we lean. We're gonna win. And i'm gonna tell you right now. We're now they just opened the gates. And now i can tell you as a matter of fact. We're not gonna win. I don't think we're gonna win. Got off to a bad start where last we saw. Okay reminds you horse we horse. There's no we in here. Yeah it's a me horse and we're in last place and there goes that money that you pressured me into betting on. I didn't to bet me while. I'm gonna blame you just a little bit pleased. Can i just blame somebody myself. You bet and you gamble take the gamble and you know you law so that. Yeah i mean we're in dead last place right now. Maybe we'll make a run here at the very ship. Picked the better horse. Bet against myself david. David robinson you wanna win money. I'm like if you want to win. Money ben against the horse. Hey look here's the thing about. David robinson i'm with you. All z. he was never a cultural icon. He was the admiral he was the guy who was the navy guy. He was the guy. That was mr all american guy. That's david robinson was. He never really became to your point. A cultural icon. He's a great player but he never elevated beyond and and listen versus shamlan. I would have to take. Dave robinson is being the underrated warrant. Because you just talked about the six cents. Do that was like in the late nineties. So yeah i'm with david. Robinson is the underwritten by the way we finished fifth terrible. Ouch cap josh. Allen signed a massive six year contract extension today with two hundred fifty. Eight million dollars with one hundred and fifty million guaranteed. It comes out to about forty three million dollars a year which is two million below the mahomes deal at forty five and and three more than the deal at forty a year. This will keep them in buffalo. Through the twenty twenty-eight season is this spot for him overrated underrated. Well let me just comment on what you just said. Most recently which is it will keep him buffalo through the twenty two thousand eight season. That's if the buffalo bills are in buffalo. By that time. I mean because the bills are now doing what everybody else has done around the nfl. They're threatening to move if they don't get what they want biggest stadium in the smallest market and they've had a hard time putting a lot of people into it as for the contract itself. I think josh. Allen is one of the young up and coming superstar quarterbacks in the nfl. Honestly i watch this kid playing college. Because he played in amount west at wyoming and. I didn't think he was really quite as good as advertised around draft time. He's way beyond exceeded the expectations. Because he's not. Just a stereotypical six five. Two hundred and thirty pound dropback passer. He's got a lot of the moves of the modern day type quarterback and so i think he's going to be a big star. He's already taken. The buffalo bills and in my opinion changed a lot of the perception around that franchise so for me. This is a really good deal for him. And i think that it's I think that it's underrated i. I don't think it's overrated. It is definitely underrated for two reasons. In my opinion number one to cavs point you know buffalo's floating notion that they may move and with moving they may actually sell. And it's a lot easier to sell your franchise if you have the face of the franchise locked in in other words you you. Purchasing a commodity that is well known and beloved. And when josh allen head is tremendous run last season and postseason he became somewhat of a fresh face. That people gravitated towards. And you can build branding around knowing you got that. Lock dan for a few more years makes purchasing a franchise if they were to be for sale much more attractive. And you know they don't sell it and makes them just attractive to the next city knowing they can build around local hero josh allen but also number two six years man hundred and fifty million guaranteed and three years one hundred and fifty million might just be ten million in terms of how much money would be what the new price point would be in the market value for. Qb of his age and of his talent so not only was it smart for the buffalo bills to lock them in for that long in the event they do move decide to sell but also is just smart in terms of if we don't move and we don't sale we don't have to worry about trying to match an offer three years from now.

"What they're really good at. Meanwhile they're playing chess and that's the reason why they've had to sustain success since andrew has taken over because they understand the importance of one keeping leaks to a minimum. If not just no leaks at all and then also too and this is something busted only told me years ago you zig when everyone else zagging if you can fig when everyone's zaggi you'll remain relevant and that's what the dodgers have been able to do are they. You still talking about green and that's also true for green as well green day. How a couple of years ago. and what. What's the leader named billy joe. Yeah and there are tons of people you know right up close to the stage and everybody's got their camera you know everybody's videotaping and he literally stopped a song and he goes everybody. Put your phones away. Kenya stopped recording it. And watching it through your phone. Can you actually be here. Be present watch it and be with us in this moment you know and i thought it was hilarious. I put my phone away at that. Point is true true. You are one of the people yes you. Hey you with the flat ass you. Yeah i would've thought away to see if you were facing him eastern. You had a flat ass. That's that's envisioned right there. You the guy who needs the budi pads you. I'm talking to you pal guy with bertha here with but ain't no child coming out you know man well so listen if if kershaw not available until we say you know september at some point And we always. You won't have power and not quite sure we still want him representing us. Don't think so Max sure's was not a bad plan. Be mean sure yes. I mean you know what i'm saying like it's not like they went and got like try to dust off somebody. This is still a bulldog as we just recently saw. They did try to ovation. Sorry think they signed cole. Hamels too so they did somebody off just for a little extra linked to move. That's a great. Yeah so you're not worried in the least no no i. I understand that the four games why. There's no reason for me to be worried because everybody is just now getting healthy. We're at a point where everybody is. Just coming into the lineup. You've got cory seager. Mookie betts back. he's hitting home runs. Make an amazing place at second base and staying staying healthier that way by playing second base. All of it is going to start coming together now. I heard it on with travis. Lee will the other day with travis said this which was very smart. the dodgers haven't hit a stride yet every year every team hit some sort of stride where they go on this long run and that really good. They haven't done that yet. And there's still one of the best teams in baseball so once they actually hit that stride where they're just going on a long run. Look out basically. I don't know if our one billion are start. Felt like that was like fifteen in three or fifteen in whatever. It was not like a sample size. That's twenty games almost or whatever but everybody was healthy at that point then. Nobody was healthy. Also and we're also losing now. I mean look cody. bellinger's not in the lineup tonight. He he eighth two nights ago and we were all things when cody's back when cody's back and they're still sustaining without cody. Bellinger being cody bellinger. There's a standing without kevin locks. Who was supposed to be the rookie of the year. Candidates and weather next top guys. Imagine any other team trying to handle a guy that was supposed to be two guys that they were really going to rely on and they don't and they they both get hurt and they're both not playing well. They're still doing all this stuff. I'm not worried. Let me throw a stat at you guys. I did some homework earlier today. Listen to this. The dodgers against teams with a five hundred record or less. The dodgers are forty three and nineteen. You guys got that. So against against bad teams crushing. Everybody okay Against teams with a winning percentage teams five hundred and above the dodgers are twenty two and twenty five so Against the bad teams their killers against the good teams there slightly around slightly less than five hundred themselves. I mean more information k. Because while that initial analysis is the data what we need now are details behind data because where we facing these five hundred plus teams when we were limping or where we were healthy and they we face those sub five hundred teams when we were healthy or when we were olympic. So i i need to say. Let's let's do that on the other side then. Let's let's answer that question on the other side. Plus we've got overrated underrated coming up your show if you wanna call eight seven seven seven to ten. Espn thank you very much chris. All right it's the last birthday. The very last birthday. For l z granderson. I don't have anymore birthdays. No no no. it's over. No more birthdays for you did so. It's not a good one though. But we'll deal with it david robinson or m night shyamalan. I'm gonna say that david robinson's under rated one. He doesn't get talked about really you know and maybe it was that dunk shack had him in the all star game that one year that basically ended his career. Maybe it was the fact that he didn't win a championship until tim. Duncan showed up and was the actual star or maybe just the fact that there were just other senators who may have similar statistics but more to the culture shock just meant more to the culture. Patrick ewing just meant more to the culture. That's no slight on. David robinson's playing or his career. He had a hell of a career but from a personality standpoint. You know whether it's because he was quiet or his demeanor or whatever he never really penetrated in my opinion The larger cultural conversation in terms of great big man. Great basketball players. He was known to nba fans. But he wasn't really just known as like that dude is the way that patch you head his own sneakers and had us rocking those snakeskin adidas obviously shack or wanna his mood he just wasn't in that space but he was a hell of a player. So i'm gonna say d- rob is underrated in m night. He been riding six cents man for a minute and he really wasn't entail. Maybe split that you saw film. You were like okay. You still got you still got it but you know for minute.

"But that dude saumya street one day and said to be as a compliment by the way. If i had known you were going to be a star. I would've never broke. Nope damn and i said to him. I said you know. That's funny. Because i actually was a star when we were dating you were just too stupid to know it and then i walked away boom boom baby. That a guy we're not calling and she said just play the tape to emotional. Oh okay well. We've got a lot more stuff to talk about mama so you may be emotional for a long long time is what i'm going to say. And we'll mix in the sports shows kershaw because the signings i mean we got the sports man. We do that bob. I swear we'll get to that. Okay there it is. Stop party now the locator nice he goes he just for you. Play it laura for a little. Yeah i want him to shimmy. Shake a little on the speaking to me. I almost know what they're saying. Man you know what i hate. I hate the fact that in fourth grade. When i went to the school and there were all these options for languages. My dumb ass chose french. Which is really good. When i go to montreal and perry unfortunately you know nobody else speaks for. I seriously like anybody who has a chance to take a language in school like my kids. They don't take spanish my one daughter. She takes hebrew hebrew on my frigging kidding me hebrew. I'm like learn spanish now. So you can get around in america man seriously and then you can go to other places in mexico and you and you know europe and and you can pretty much speak italian because you speak spanish. I mean seriously. Spanish language l. I chose french. Because i don't know i think james ball went to france and i knew that and that kind of stuck in my head or whatever. Why did he go to mexico. Why do you go to spain anyway. As you talk to tony parker idea. I can't do bill trivia anyway. Let's do little sports here or or do you want to just keep talking. I wanna talk about this clayton. Kershaw thing is kind of weird. That elsie brought up. I mean not that. That's the weird part. The just out till september like now. I wanna rewind this a little bit because greg bergman we had this conversation when he was first out okay and you like attended idea. It's just a little rest on. When i thought bro is being how long has been like a month. Okay it's going to be another month almost basically right because remember what happened was it was pre all star break george and and i think greg and i know i certainly thought this was like you know what they're doing. They're shutting him down a week before the all star break so they shut him down. He misses and start then. He's got a few days off during the all star break. And i'm sure that's why he's coming a sore arm. They rest was all rest. Yes tightness in the forearm. If i if i recall gregory said yes that's exactly what it was and so i thought that that same thing but now i'm kind of thinking that maybe he's this because he pitched really well on the postseason last year. Just follow me okay. You're saying you just resting wrestlers. He's interesting because last year he was good in the postseason and he had a shortened season. He was good for the most part having some struggles before he went on the i l. And now you rest them all the way up until september. You don't even need them. Let them be good in the postseason because think about it. I think about the timing of news. We didn't know this before. We got sherzer but they knew it before they ushers so maybe they were just saying. We're not gonna let this news out until we shore up our plan. B hence another hall of fame pitcher max scherzer and now that we have him. Now we can let people in on the on the fact that our face of the franchise to pass ten twelve. How many years you want to characterize him as is not available to us until september comes which is also a green day song. It is your the if you're right right when zip. Dan a nice george very laura making that poor real quick very quick really no green day's not in her house day. You do ideal. Oh dad you ain't never say. Usually kaplan i in an greg being You know assuming stuff usually you're pretty spot on about not doing that. She's never said anything green or day to day. I mean we talked about green. Who are we fooling here. She told us she liked verde de. I would understand that but green day come on. You had no idea awesome. They are also This is the new clayton kershaw theme song rate me up until you know okay man. I hope so because but if but hold on. Flc's right if the dodgers kept this quiet so that they could make a trade to get sherzer and by the way maybe it wasn't sure there could have been any starting pitcher for that matter. If all of major league baseball knows that kershaw is more hurt than most of us assumed then another team looking to make a move with the dodgers could have possibly held out to get more from the dodgers yup. So that's that's arts. that's damn smart. If that's the case if and it sounds pretty reasonable to me that is really smart. Like keep it quiet. Keep it under wraps let. Everybody think that the reason that we're going out to find a starting pitcher is because we're gonna replace trevor bauer. That's the that's the way people were probably thinking when in actuality kershaw was gonna be out longer than expected and at this point. I'll just say who knows who knows what's going to happen. But man that's That's an interesting piece of analysis but is also you know par for the course for this front office always playing chess. Always give the message of checkers..

"Obviously she's listening so she can make the decision home. But i'll i'll text her and ask you know mama. I just need one more. One more george on the way out there you go you go cap. I would tell you that I'll give you a deeper bag story that you probably didn't know in fact. I'm pretty sure you didn't know. But i'm going to drop it for you anyway please. When a when sports nation was first beginning with colin i was one of the people that they auditioned. And i go in and you know collins there. And they're rotating all these people in. I was one of them blah blah blah blah and. It didn't it didn't work out. You know whatever. But the one thing i remembered was thinking man it still would be cool to one day just to be a guest on the show and this is at the very beginning and i actually don't remember when it started I don't know if anyone can google real quick. But i didn't think it was like twenty twelve. I want to say i think it was. So you're already. You're already there at the magazine. Elsie is that one thousand nine thousand nine okay. So summer of two thousand nine thousand nine. So i go in auditioned for blah blah. I don't get it whatever Happens and beads. Get it and you know like everyone else you wash. His show is great beasley. She comes back in a lot of things. Happy so to end up on the show that audition for didn't get with the person who did get the role and we ended up being great friends and travel to do concerts together. All the time now was like such an amazing sort of like three sixty just within that experience right like i'm a firm believer in things. Being as proper time ecclesiastes. His three one has guided most of my life. In fact we even got married. My wife and i. When i was heterosexual actually had at least the after three one as political has part of our vows because i was such a firm believer in everything happened in his proper time. So even though i didn't get cast cap in the initial or casting of sports nation to simple fact i eventually made it to that show as a cast member as part of the team with the person who dig at the role initially and she left and came back it was just perfect symmetry and once again a reminder that what's for you was meant for you will be there and what's not for you won't be there and that's a freedom of things you can't control which is focused on what you can and they got him. The rest in spanish see all in spanish. Don't take us to the third. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. There is a song called. Look stop e not up which means that what is for you is for you. You know what. I'm saying like nobody can change that. No-one can strange bible verse. But i and this is gonna sound super shallow. No surprise to anybody but for me. It's a youtube video. It's about a two minute youtube video and it's anybody ever seen. It's called the chinese farmer. Anybody anybody chinese bamboo. No no not about bamboo career. Here's what happens so there's a shiny farmer and he's got this horse and the horse runs away and that night all the neighbors come over to his house and they say oh. No you're horse ran away your one only horse and they said that's terrible news in the chinese farmer said well maybe and the next day the horse came back and he brought seven courses with him and all. The neighbors came over that night and they went. Hey great news your horses back. And he brought seven horses. That's great news. And the chinese former said maybe and then the next day his son was out trying to train one of these seven horses and he fell off the horse and broke his leg and all the neighbors came around that night and they said oh my god. That's such terrible news. Your son broke his leg and the chinese former said well maybe and then the next day the army showed up because they were drafting young people for the war. And they said oh. We can't take your son because he's got a broken leg and so then all. The neighbours came around that night and they said hey. That's great news. Your son has a broken leg. he doesn't have to go to the war. And the for chinese say well maybe and so the whole point of the story is is that you never really know good fortune or bad fortune and what the consequences really will be so even though you break out a biblical term and i just break out a youtube video. I think we're speaking the same language l. d. i think in fact in fact i'll do you guys one more story about ecclesiastes. Three one proper tiny. i may never even made. it's espn. if. I had gotten my wish. Because at the time before. I got to espn before i got to atlanta. Fry did much of anything. I'd fallen in love with a guy who lives in also. I had been applying to the sun times over and over and over again because i wanted to be at the time. I was living in michigan. But i wanted to obviously be closer. This guy that. I was in love with fast forward. This guy dumped me in such a cruelest way. I can't repeat on air because there's an awful awful awful way to break up with someone. But he just dumps me. Fast forward blah blah to sun-times is no longer in existence right. I've gone on with my career. And here i am at you know. Espn even now saying goodbye. Whatever that's that's all fine dandy.

"That was great. That also made me a little extra sad because it was pedro gomez who made that drop for us in real time when we did the morning show together so we on a day like this. We miss him because he would totally wanna be on the show today. Yes yes he would have been an awesome awesome. Send-off chris thank you so so much. I only wish i had gotten to my desk in time to hear it on the actual little late. I'm trying to get there was a traffic jam. And i didn't anticipated and i'm so sorry chris but i'm on my phone listening and it's amazing and just fifteen minutes away guys from getting my dad's that's computer so that i can actually be with a proper system and everything but it was awesome. I gotta tell you that it's become one of my favorite. That is become one of my favorite things about z. Then i didn't know frankly which is doesn't show up to remote appearances that by the way i love l zero and i would like to steal that from your playbook and i love the i'm out and about i'm late to something. Also something. I'd love to steal from your playbook because i'm so uptight that i'm always like way early for everything you know. And i love the nonchalant sort of attitude. I like it and i wish i could adopted. I'm just so fricking uptight. I don't know l z. Give me some advice. tell me what to do. Don't look at the clock we say. Don't look at the cloud suggestions. Not a command. Don't have don't have a watch. Which i don't have any way. Just just pick up your phone and you know just all right guys. i'm joking. I'm actually purposely being late because i figured i might as well dig into the one last time right here on it. I'm going to log on a proper system now as you speak. I'm larry on my desk. Be funny so. I'm gonna hang up now so that can actually give them the proper system in about two seconds. Hang up and listen. Listen back on george question. I would guess that you're probably a lot more like me. Have you ever like not shown up for remote appearance like just no. I'm not coming. That's nine shown up. No the the only time i am. I don't want this to be morbid. I don't want this to be very morbid. The only my dad had a stroke in two thousand and three and that was the only time i didn't make a remote ever that day that was it was over in two thousand three. How show up late to something. Like i'm so uptight. I'm such a rhyming week. Then i would be like wait a second. There's traffic way to. There's a problem with uber. Like i'll start walking right now. I'll pick up along the way somehow. Here's the thing. Though one is true. I have missed remotes now going to lie. I have this remote. But i've also been things that no one else has. I've shown up. Llc for fans and was the only personality station there. i've done the same thing as staples at the same thing at dodgers stadium. So while it's true. I've missed the official remote from time to time. I've shown up all the unofficial remotes from time to time. Yeah do the math. You know my plus minus zero. It's all even at the end. George i saw you on around the horn today. Rock in the donohoe and l e. t. shirt which was a real. It was awesome the way you did it and i love that. The other panelists on around the horn today all round of applause. I just think l z. What tells me is because again remember. I've said this before. I was your viewer and i was your listener before i ever became your partner and dude. I just thought it was a really really awesome sendoff today george. I thought all the colleagues on around the horn showing love and respect and tony rally to his credit. And i told you this earlier. He knew right off his dome. How many wins l z. Had like the guy's got this crazy photographic memory and so when. I texted him because i wanted to like. I knew they would say yes but you know usually on around the horn knows. It's not you know. I'm not saying it's not casual but it's usually not t shirts you know what i'm saying like on on that show so i text tony. Aaron josh the to producers and i sent them a picture not that picture another picture of the shirt and i hey tells these last day i'd espn. I wanna wear this shirt. You guys cool with that. And they were all like oh of course absolutely blah blah blah. No question and then. Tony of course chimes in after his initial text. Oh and by the way he has five wins in his career. And i was like damn broke literally seconds new so far between was hard to keep up i was thinking els left and right so but but he did say this which was funny because tim keller shot today was Was the winner and he said but he was wanted know against tim. Cowlishaw ooh again. La is better than texas. They you go. I'd like to. And i hope that callers today because i know we've had a lot of phone callers. Is the weakest gone on and people who jump on the air and they all want to send you love and respect rightfully so l z. I encountered you as a viewer when you were doing sports nation. What year did that show star. Who was the original cast if you don't mind like fill me in on that again. That's where i. I saw the young vivacious q. L. z grandma's house. Louis this guy is guy like this guy tell. Tell me about that that beginning of that show her first of all. Let me say. I just got a text from my mom and she says i'm crying. Oh mama granderson. "Will hear from Lee Zeldin coming up Surely, but right now it is that time. Here we go, Len and Michael's elevator music from myself. It's one of the great the intros of the history of radio right there. Uh, you can't imagine that we broke the budget on that anyway. So how this works is we play the music, the bland version of a famous song that you might hear in an elevator that he still play music and elevators don't even know and we'll play the clue. And if you think you know it, call 803 2107 10 and the one who gets it right Wednesday. Lenin Michael T shirts so here once again Uh, Michael and I didn't have a clue. But here's the clue. Mm. Oh, I think I know it. Do you know what I think? Play one more time for me. Okay. One more time for Michael. I also played that one more time for Daniel in the Bronx because he had not heard the herd The clue before we went to commercial, Daniel, you got it. I haven't a clue now. Well, very good. Daniel. Thanks for playing. So stand align. We may get back to staying alive. We have some more songs coming up. How about the Jennifer on Long Island? Jennifer had not heard the clue before she called in. "I can give you hundreds of reasons Why I hate Donald Trump. Now, I think there's don't doing hating somebody individually and then hating a group of people, which is racism. So they talk about it in psychology, things. I'm not a psychologist does but biases to know your bias. Then sometimes, you know, like Bill Cosby. You know, he's a bad dude. He did some bad things, but there's good in all people, including Donald Trump. You just can't see it because you're too far away from it. Well, then tell me then Rod. What's good in Donald Trump? Let me hear from you. And if you're a trump supporter, that's fine. Um, I can tell you what's good in Donald Trump. I think that I don't think he's stupid. I've never called Donald Trump dumb. I think he's a smart guy. He knows how to manipulate people. I think Donald Trump knows how to manipulate the media. And there's one thing I give Donald Trump a lot of credit for in his four years as president, it's exposing how stupid people are in this country and how vulnerable they are. Uh and he exposed that because he knows it, so I'll You know, there's some things I can say about Donald Trump that are positive or good. Um, but, you know, I think he's a despicable human being. I know he's a despicable human being. So you know, it was not a support Trump or I understand at the call was the intent. The thing I'm trying, trying to say primarily, is the Republicans. I grew with you generally a lot of them. Don't care about the poor because they think, Hey, you're poor because you want to be poor on the democratic side, The liberal side. Uh, they kind of use the poor. They kind of take the The advantage of them in a way, so either way, you don't think Republicans that are wealthy and the tax breaks. You don't think they take advantage of the poor. You don't think all the CEOs of fortune 500 companies that are benefiting off of of the taxes were you know, Democrats are a lot of them. A lot of them are liberal. Brian. Okay, so Donald Trump is not a liberal, uh, Donald Trump. There were plenty of tax breaks for the rich. If you ask anybody. That's extremely Here's the truth about Donald Trump. The Liberals could have had their way with them while he was president. All they have to do is call them and nobody wanted to call him. Why would you coddle a piece of garbage? I don't understand. Well, because you can get something from them. What were you going? Why would you coddle a piece of garbage? Why would you Coddle an S o b. Why would you coddle someone who defends the Confederate flag? Why would you coddle somebody who attacks women based on looks and attacks immigrants? Why would you coddle someone who attacks POWs? I don't respect John McCain because he was captured. If you coddle somebody like that, you're just as bad as he is. I disagree with you, sir. Right? I got to get to some other colours, my friend, But I appreciate your call. Call back another time to 575396. Let's go to Chris. Chris is next. Hi, Chris. What's going on? Hey, Hey, Brian Up that last caller he actually hit on something That was kind of brilliant. I didn't want to And I think he was right. I think he's right if you look at prison reform or anything that the Democrats work with trouble on All they help do. He's ready. He's not. He wasn't really conservative like that. If you want to just been like a little bit. You couldn't get anything you want to do with the liberal from Trump if you would have just worked with him, But everybody wants to demonize the gap. I mean, I looked at prison reform. And when the when the Democrats really wanted to work with Trump They got what they wanted. Every single time. Uh, when the Democrats worked with Donald Trump, they got what they wanted. Everything. Gal's every single time. Okay, let's go with that. Let's go. Let's go with that statement for a second. What about gun control, sir? What did Donald Trump do about gun control? Donald Trump was ready if you started. What did Donald Trump? No, You're wrong, Chris. With all due respect, you're wrong. You're wrong. Okay? Yeah. No, you're wrong. After the October one shooting. He talked tough about gun control. Democrats pleaded with him. They pleaded with him. Let's get some of these weapons of war off the streets. They wanted to work with him, and then he spoke to the head of the NRA, and then those comments deceased. You are absolutely wrong. Democrats tried to work with him on immigration reform, Democrats tried to work with them on tax breaks. Tax breaks for middle class people. Democrats tried to work with him when it came to gun control, Sir, you are 150% wrong. Now is that all Donald Trump's fault? No. But for you to say that it's all Democrats, fault that they couldn't work together is before scenery, and it's ridiculous to 575396. Let's go to Brad. Brad is next on the Vegas take a little bread. 2575396 Let's go to cash is next on the Vegas Take cash. Hello? Hey, Good morning. Okay, so cash. I'm going to say this for one more time. We know who you are. Your name is Brendan. Okay, Cash If you I'll keep you on the phone. If you're willing to listen, okay? And we can have a conversation. Don't call in under other names, calling it wrong with cash. I'll tell you what, Because it make sure Nick man, Okay, I don't care what your nickname is stopped calling in under other names, and you can come on and I will give you the opportunity. Do we have a deal? Yes or no? Okay, That's a deal. Okay. Now, what would you like to talk about? Brady? What would you like to say? Aren't you aware that there's about 25 FBI agents who infiltrated the proud boys? Okay, Reaper. What does that have to do with what we are talking about? We are talking about Gwen. Barry. We're talking about the Olympics, sir. Okay, so no, no, no, no. Let me explain something to you now..

"One more time and one more time even if the mind. You can't do it okay. That was the oh four conscious breath. Now where you're able to do that. Yes but your mind is particularly powerful so it has a very strong gravitational pull. It can very easily demand all your attention back for itself so you have to know that if you can experience as now that it's actually joyful very pleasant to be observing. Ill bryce acknowledge that it is actually very peaceful pleasant. Then you would want to go there more often. Without the seduction the power of the mind to seduce you becomes less so stepping out of the mind when you realized just totally useless. Mind activity going on here. You need to realize that but but there's enough awareness in you that very often. You do realize that is already a sign of awareness to realize that you're strapped in this. Noisy mind is a sign of awareness. Because if you had no awareness you wouldn't even know it ups. Oh totally in it. You would be so identified with it you would be it would be all day is to you but it's more to you so there is awareness The moment you realized you have a choice of taking your attention out of the mind and even if you cannot do it for very long. That doesn't matter so much important thing is that you can do it in the process is there's a separation between mind activity and just consciousness separate from mind activity then mind activity weekends and subsides and there's consciousness and then it drafts hold of conscious again and you're completely in it again and then after a while the moments when you is the freedom from mind activity the separation become a bit longer into you. Enjoy it even more this mall but in the meantime for your choice to engage in this process of separation. And don't believe your mind when it says things about it. It's not the truth. The point is that is very powerful. So it's like i m so delighted of of heating myself that's good. That's good point. Good point to reach to be tired of hearing.

"Strap it in. We're going to slay the dragon and add one more time today. Here we go. All right. So I think most of us are probably familiar with the saying made financed by Bob Dylan back in the 19 sixties, when he wrote Ah song, now titled by the famous, saying the Times they are changing. Although I'm not sure back in the sixties, anyone could have imagined all of the changes that we're seeing since then think about the enormous changes in technology, for example. Much of our technology today would have barely seen the glimmer and Gene Roddenberry's high as he was writing the Star Trek series. Back in that era, right fashion has changed. Modern architecture has changed dramatically in a lot of cases, actually, demographics within our nation's boy. Have they changed right? Even even the look of our currency has changed dramatically since then. Cultural norms, boy Have they changed? I mean, in the sixties? Well, I mean norms that were there in the sixties. Probably would Lynn and get some of you and all of us may be in some legal trouble today, right? The speed at which we access information. Not to mention the volume of information. What's that are, you know fingertips today who would have imagined that? In the early sixties. Can I tell you something else unimaginable back in the sixties. National debt approaching $33 trillion now. I mean in 1964. When Dylan penned this famous song, our total U. S debt was on Lee a little over 300 billion. Matter fact the nation's entire GDP back then was only $685 billion. My How times really have changed 1964, the medium. US household income. Get this a meager $6600 a year. Now. By contrast, in 2019, the average you house household credit card balance carried a monthly balance of $6849 more than an entire year's savings in 1964, or earnings, rather Debt. Perhaps more than anything else has changed since the even the turn of the new century. For example, younger families today are saddled with debt in many cases, even before Mom and dad even know each other. Between student loan debts and credit card debt. The average college graduate starts out life today with a whopping $32,000 of debt. I want you to think about that. The college graduates today before they even get married. Bring over as a couple bring over $64,000 of debt into that new marriage. And we want her. Why so many of these new young marriages in so quickly in divorce? If you were someone you love is a young person today saddled with the suffocating burden of debt. This segment is for you. And I want you to hear this loud and clear There is a way out, and it doesn't have to be a long drawn out battle with spending cuts that take you to the bone or beyond. Our proprietary dead elimination and wealth building process has helped thousands of people nationwide. Eliminate all of their debt and turn it into liquid wealth. In the process. It is possible to slay the dragon of dead, but you're gonna probably have to go a different direction, because if you're following conventional wisdom more than likely, that's what's got you into the debt problem. Listen, I say.
