Dr. Thomas Krannawitter: Progressives Judge the U.S. By 'Perfection'

"Things I've noticed as a scholar of American history and American politics, the critics, especially progressive critics of America, they tend to judge the United States by the standard of perfection. And of course, when they do that, the United States always falls short. The American people always fall short. They're not perfect. They're not angels. But what I like to do is change the discussion a little bit and compare Americans to other people, other nations of people. And if the story of the Americans, if what the Americans did to get rid of slavery, if that is woefully insufficient, if it is grossly immoral, they did too little. They acted too slowly. They didn't care enough about the rights of the enslaved people. If that's all true, show me a group of people who did it well. What's the model? Should we look to Europe? It took the English 900 years to get to the place where they were ready to abolish slavery. It took the French a millennium and a half, 1500 years. In Africa, slavery existed for thousands of years, and it didn't dawn on any one's mind that maybe we should get rid of the whole institution. The only discussion that you would find among African tribes was, well, it really sucks to be the slave. It's much better to be the master, but there was no discussion of simply getting rid of the entire institution.

Dinesh D’Souza Explains Partnership With Salem Media Over '2000 Mules'

"And we've never really partnered like this. Talk a little bit about the importance of your team partnering with our team for 2000 mules. Well, first of all, I think it's to the great credit of Salem as a company. I mean, it's a public company to take on a topic like this that has so many minefields and so many risks, I think is a testament to the great courage of ALM in stepping behind this. The second thing that's kind of funny, Mike that I think you'll appreciate, as you know, Salem hosts are not of one mind on this issue. There was a lot of variety of points of view. Perhaps Eric metaxas and gorka leaning more to the idea of, yeah, that was stolen election, but certainly Dennis prager and Charlie Kirk and Larry elder were not on that same page. And when Salem first suggested to me the idea of putting the hosts in the movie, I wasn't quite sure how that would work. And then I got the idea of kind of bringing them together, telling them nothing about the movie, just talking about what they thought originally, then showing them the evidence and recording their spontaneous reaction. I knew they'd have a lot of intelligent questions, and I thought, well, those are going to be the questions on the mind of the audience. And then we'll sum up by asking them their conclusions. So it worked beautifully essentially what we did is we took this Salem host and made them part of the plot of the movie.

"From the corner of 16th and Peachtree Street, right next to the High Museum of Art in Midtown Atlanta. Welcome to the first Presbyterian Church. I'm senior pastor Tony Sunder Meyer. And I want to thank you. For tuning in to today's broadcast, and I would invite you now to join us in the worship of God. First lesson this morning comes from the 78th Psalm. Listen carefully for the word of the Lord. Give ear o my people to my teaching. Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings from of old things that we have heard and known that our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their Children. We will tell To the coming generation, the glorious deeds of the Lord and his might and the wonders that he has done In the sight of their ancestors. He worked marvels in the land of Egypt in the fields of zone. He divided the sea and let them pass through it and made the water stand up like a heap. In the daytime. He led them with a cloud. And all night long with a fairy light. He split rocks open in the wilderness and gave them drink abundantly has from the deep. He made streams come out of the rock and calls waters to flow down like rivers. And from Paul's letter to the church in Philippi. If then there is any encouragement in Christ. Any consolation from love in each sharing in the spirit. Any compassion and sympathy. Make my joy complete. Be of the same mind. Having the same love being in full accord of one mind, do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit. But in humility Regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interest, but to the interests of others. Look the same mind be in you. That was in Christ, Jesus. Who, though he was in the form of God. Did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited. But emptied himself taking the form of a slave. Being born in human likeness and being found in human form. He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death. Even death on a cross. Therefore, God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name so that it at that name of Jesus. Every knee should bend and heaven and on earth and under the Earth. And every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God. The father Therefore, my beloved just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence But much more now in my absence Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. This is the word of the Lord. Thanks Be to God. Let us pray. The words of my mouth and meditations of all of our hearts Be acceptable in your sight of Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Amen. Once many years ago. I was given An incredible gift by the church. Both the local Congregation and the denomination. The PC USA. It all started when I was sitting in my dorm room over at Columbia Seminary. In my memory. I was studying theology. But the reality is it was a Saturday,.

"Empowered. When i do them well i love a good one. It's a good form. They are not the most activating for the loose. Believe it or not But it is a great exercise to incorporate to trade. Even your back your back is part of your your posture system right. So it's super important also to maintain your unless you want to have a good blend must be opposing. Exercise to the squat if you will reverse the deadliest. Oh the deadliest. Yeah no i. I don't know why like him so much. I always have and i liked to box jumps in all kinds of things are those of it. I'm just my honey. I love it. It's so important that you. I'm so glad that you're sharing that information. Because it's important to diversify your trading to. Oh yeah no i do. Farmers walks you know with like My kettlebells things like that. I'm all about it. I love i just love exercise and i think it was that we talked this the importance of your mental health and your emotional health when you exercise regularly and you have a strong body and you feel good in your skin right. Yeah yeah you feel confident. There's something about exercise and just feeling strong mentally feeling good about your body and where you are in your life. Because i think right now. We're in filling the pandemic and there's so many things that we don't have control over but we do have control over exercise and the good benefits that comes along with it so if you if you create good habits you'll be able to implement a good exercise routine and for the record. I just wanted to repeat one. I said this last time but exercise is not the remedy just for weight lost. We associated exercise with weight. Loss exercises movement is supposed to make you feel good feel strong to keep the connections in your body for for the long run to protect your organs and keep them healthy right so if we have that mentality of tracing health versus chasing aesthetics. I think we would be able to be more motivated to work out. Absolutely you gotta make it fun Especially if you're gonna do it all the time i mean. I don't even yesterday when i was cleaning house all day. Taking care of the animals. I would i stopped in the midst of it to do like box jumps or you know. Do a farmer's walk or you know just jump at it just keeping myself. And then i also get on the spin bike for like. Oh no more than fifteen minutes up out of the saddle the whole time. Trying to work my. But they're a little bit. Does that help. I think any. Yeah definitely the proactive. You are just being active. You know it doesn't even have to be intentional. Exercise right like going on the stand by you can go for a walk. Even steps definitely counts for burning calories for myself. What i do is if i have house chores to do. I put on little south south. A little meeting stopped by moving around the apartment. And i'm shaking my head and i looked at my watch. I'm up three hundred four hundred moving so it doesn't have to be intentional. Just has to be smart. Do you believe in the tracker. I'm guessing you since you said you you wear one. I do too and i garden i i do too. There's a very fine line with being aware of your body movement versus being obsessive. We can definitely talk about that another time. But yes i definitely. I do wear one just for day-to-day purposes. Just to see what my body doing and just to be in tune with it. Yeah i don't like to sit for very long. I don't i. I'm sitting right now. We're gonna end the show here in just a second another minute. I think we'll hear the music. And then i'm i'm often running. I'm off at the races all day long. And i love it. I love to stay active. It sounds like you're the same way same way. I love to get my stuff than what are we gonna do about juniors but before we go off the air give him give his give him some blood exercises jessica so i actually have. "We continue back to our busy telephones, Arkansas Jason is next. What's up? Jason? How are you, sir? Hey, Sean. Thanks for taking my call. And I wanted to talk to you a little bit about how ridiculous this cove it. Passport mandate has become Well, see, I'm a small business owner. I've already had my business canceled by Big Tech and I fight like heck to get it back. Well, I am a retired gunnery sergeant, The Marine Corps and I taught her in court martial arts over 20 years while I was in When I got out, I saw. So what do you teach any specific art or eclectic blend of arts like I train with her? Collect it. Xena may style We use different styles of, uh, you know, in in May, you know to get to you and You know, karate, taekwondo. Everything is all mixed together it but basically had to win and win fast. I got it. I understand. That's what we learned to exactly any any weapon. One mind. That's our motto. Um Well, I started a weapons based martial arts school and with my son Ruben, and it's called Mantle core, You know, like Marine Corps, but Mando And what we do is we fight full contact with these weapons. We travel all over the United States and fighting these tournaments. Well, we have a championship tournament coming up in when you say you fight full weapon. I mean, if you're using sticks or blades, or you're not using real sticks, plates and firearms. No, We don't use the firearms, but we use sticks blunted blade We even use. Um, get this. Ah, full contact Lightsaber, you know, like What you see in the movies. These life thing I think a lot of crap in the dojo with I'm a member of because, uh, our senses like you can't hit Hannity in the face. He's gotta show he's got to do tonight. You know that's way When a guy's looking at me like, really, you hit me in the face. I'm hitting your right back. That's what they tell me a way where we were actually a full set of armor. Um and you know we were going to win this championship bout. It's a tournament in Las Vegas in July. Well, this company called combat. Khan has all the sudden change the rules on us and said, We have to show up with the covert vaccine. Fully vaccinated and show the passport or we cannot participate. Well, you know, we're wearing gloves mask and anybody gets in with six ft of me. I'm gonna hit him anyway. Um, but here, the ironic part of it. Here's a hypocritical part. You know, we have to show up with this. This goes against all the emergency use authorization that you know, we've all talked about. You brought up. And then also going against what the governor's has put out for the guidelines. But here's the crazy thing that the hotel the flamingo that is hosting this that's helping them hosted. It's not requiring the vaccine. With the employees. So the janitor comes in and takes out the trash during the day or so, If you doing close quarter fighting training, etcetera, I'm just not going to get into the specific protocols that I have that I follow. I just want to make sure we everybody now knows about masks. Everybody knows about social distancing. Everybody knows the vaccines are available. And if you decide Look, I'm not your doctor. You've got to do your own research. You've got to talk to your own doctor or doctors. You've gotta you know, you gotta make your own decision based on your medical condition based on the advice of your doctor, But if you if you choose not to get the vaccine, I'm not an anti vax on pro vaccine in pro science. But if you choose not to, you do have an obligation to protect other people. Ugo. It's just that's a human obligation. It's not something that's enforceable. Just like throughout the whole pandemic can't force people. I mean, you could throw him out of the store if they don't have a mask on But short of that. You you know, you can't tell a kid coming home from school. Although you should I told my kids You know, protect Grandma Grandpa. Any anybody you come in contact with? You have the obligation to protect them. You're not going to die from this according to all the odds, but somebody else might. So I do think it's xylitol. Bit of a fine line. What they did, you know, Fight island that was created with Dana White when he made that final. Don't Dana White cream, and he kept the sport Goldman. Here's the other thing. Dana White did cleverly kept all of his employees working. He made it work. I'll watch a fight, whether there's a crowd or not, I'm still gonna buy the fight. I'm not going to miss it. So, you know, I thought it was a really cool idea that he had. I don't know. It's specifically what the protocols were. But I'm sure that the guys before they got into the octagon that they were tested or or the status of everybody was well known, and I which I think is fine. What is it? Exactly what you just said. Everybody's tested, You know, all the other major venues out in Vegas concerts and all these other type of venues they're doing. This is making a killing back in the casinos right now. Thank God all these people out of work, All right, But we're on the same page. I think we agree on that part. Alright. We do like I gotta roll though. I'm about to break 809 things do use by the way. Uh, 809 for one, Sean, our number recent surveys showing couples share a variety of password. You start dating somebody. Okay, then you share your password with your significant other. Yeah. Then the relationship ends. This. He expects still be able to access your log in information and may even be tracking your location and stalking you. It's called swarm behavior, and now we're using it for robots. Meet the swarm ease. Get out there and forage guys. I'm Danny Washington, marine conservationists, biologists and thrill seeker. And this week Discover how science copies the animal kingdom to create swarms of robots because nature knows best. Hi. I'm Danny Washington. And welcome to nature knows best one of the easiest ways for you and how to communicate Well, is obviously talking or I could write you a note. Nature doesn't really have this luxury. Sure, some animals can use vocal signals and others congestion to one another. The most reliable Thanks to these signals, animals cooperate. They swim together in school. They fly together in flocks. And they collect food and materials together for the nest. When a bunch of animals act together as a group. This is called swarm behavior. A collection moves or behaves in some way.

My house has to be a place. That's private just for me. I don't want people in my home. I wanna be there where i'm safe. I said to them you don't understand. I don't have a house where i live belongs to jesus and he brings to his house whom he chooses to bring to his house. He lets me sleep in his house. Likewise i have no money. It all belongs to jesus and he tells me how to use that money for his work for the kingdom of god. I have no time except his time. I have no life except his life. do you understand. that's what it means to belong to. Jesus we give up our private life. We give up our our ownership and it all belongs to him pretty. One of bolivia's starts Shafter one earth twenty seven. And i'll go through some specific areas before we before we leave today. Twenty seven is writing to libyan because you know as as this as a ministry goes on gets older and older i sure they always wrote to paul for instruction as for clear occasion and questions that people might have that Timothy who was entrusted. Beleaguer night. as all right yes man to see timothy went back and forth to different churches and he was kind of The overseer always guy like division but timothy was like overseas so he was always is well with the churches and afterwards any problems whenever he will communicate with paul also let us so that he was always attached so including jesus as now wanted what does other those churches governing because really they are doubling our church because we believe so he says a year verse twenty seven. Only make your conversation the as it becomes the gospel of christ that whether i come as see you or elsewhere acid. A year of your fears that he stares fast in one spirit with one mind striving together for face of the docile. A nothing terrified by your car series which is a few them and evidence token of perdition where you of salvation in that guy. What are you saying here. Here's is he you in the good work that you're doing for your church in your community because i see you see a workers you're doing and believe that it's not going is noticed because we look the everybody and he can see exactly what's happening in each and every one of those lives and our concern qisas. Is the way the flu last. Show tune of the out community. They the way and italian can they. Jesus is the way to give them a good word in a right through word here cowan as not to be afraid of them and not to just hide in our churches behind the and do nothing community. I remember one time visit daniels on an excursion to detroit to seize psychiatric african american history using nair among other things and we went on just bad i think of his name now has this jerk and we went to see marvin winans white really struck me and what really touched my heart and it really wrote. My heart was the area's really be churches were sitting in. The house is worth more people were for any were is. There's a lot of things. But the church was flourishing. Okay margaret floors crystal chandeliers. This community the house right here said to me in the communities they were in ward. How's how's it needed to be torn down. They get lots an online at quanta quarter. Am i well. This was just me from milwaukee looking at that when i read churches handprints community. Yes they have a big beautiful church. They have an honest beautiful crystal and whites happening with the community. So i i was like who are your listeners. And communities are notified out charisma hours and as roma two-bit searches so i didn't see any presence Community what does this say now. I'm sure they're going for things like that. Don't get me wrong. I did not see the connection. I did not see our year of connection to immunity and our churches are looking back is king of for us. Though the lease in the little ones we need to be serving made a statement to because it really turbie off it really. I mean it's nice to be known across the world and have a richardson in knowledge. That stuff but what. Are you doing for christ's because the word says l. which do for crisis on a lass. So do we do what we do for christ for recognition. We do it for approval. "In this passage have antiethical words balanced each other. Have any words been joined to one another in a climax or did kaiser member or periods ring in our ears nevertheless not on that account. Is there any munition in the stirring emotion with which we feel it vibrate. Although these words of the apostle are so intelligible they are also profound. They are so written in commended to posterity that they demand not only a reader or a listener but even an interpreter. If anyone not satisfied with the outer shell would search into their depths therefore let us consider the styles of eloquence in those who through their reading of the writers of scripture have made progress toward the knowledge of divine and salutary trews and presented this knowledge to the church. The blessed ciprian uses the subdued style of speaking in that book way. Discusses the sacrament of the challenges. In fact in that book. He answers the question about whether the chalice of landlords should contain water only or water mixed with wine. I should quote something from this work as an example after the introduction of his letter then as he is beginning to answer the proposed question he says. Now you know that we have been admonished to preserve the lord's instruction in offering the chalice and do nothing different. From what the lord did i for us. Consequently the chalice which is offered in commemoration of him is to be offered mixed with wine. For since christ says i am the true vine the blood of christ is certainly not water but wine and his blood by which we have been redeemed. And vitrified cannot be seen in the chalice. When the chalices empty of the wine which signifies christ's blood which is foretold by the revelation and testimony of all the scriptures. We find in genesis in regard to the sacrament. Noah has prefigured it and presented a type of the lord's passion. He drank wine. Became intoxicated was uncovered in his tent and naked limbs exposed and the nakedness of the father was pointed out by his second son but covered by his youngest sons. It is not necessary to describe the other circumstances since it is sufficient to understand this. One fact that noah signifying type of the truth to come drank not water but wine and thus represented an image of the lord's passion we see the sacrament of the lord prefigured also the priest monkeys a deck according to what the holy scripture testifies and declares but mulcahy's the deck. The king of salem brought forth bread and wine for he was the priest of the most high god and he. Blessed abraham furthermore in the psalms the holy ghost declares that milky signifies a type of christ. When in the person of the father speaking to the son he says before the day star either got the thou art a priest forever. According to the order of kizzee deck these words in the following ones of this letter preserved the subdued style of speaking as it is easy for readers to discover saint ambrose to although he is discussing the noble subject of the holy ghost in order to prove that he is equal to the father and the son uses the subdued style of speaking. The subject he has taken for. Discussion does not demand elegance of expression or feeling of motion to move hearts but the evidences of truth in the prolong of this work. Then he says among other things when gideon was disturbed because of the divine announcement by which he had heard that thousands of people were wasting away the lord in the person of one man would free his people from their enemies he offered the kid of goats and according to the direction of the angel placed. It's flesh and unleavened bread upon a rock and poured the broth over them. As soon as the angel of god touched them with the tip of the rod which he was carrying fire arose from the rock and consumed the sacrifice which was being offered. It seems evident from this sign that the rock was a symbol of the body of christ because it is written for they drank from the rock which followed them but the rock was christ certainly in this referred not to his divinity to his flesh which has flooded the hearts of his thirsty people with the everlasting stream of his blood therefore it was then made evident in a mystery that the lord jesus crucified in his flesh would have faced the sins of the whole world and not only the transgressions of their deeds but also the lusts of their hearts for the flesh of the kid refers to sinfulness of deed the broth to the allurement of passions as it is written for the people strove for the worst lust and said who will feed us with flesh therefore this incident where the angel extended his rod and touched the rock from which fire came forth shows that the flesh of our lord animated by the spirit of god would consume all the sins of humanity for this reason the lord says i have come to cast fire upon the earth in the moderate style. There is the famous encomium virginity from ciprian. I am now speaking to virgins whose loftier renown is likewise our greater concern. They are the flower of the fruit of the church. The beauty and adornment of spiritual grace a joyful nature of praise and honor a spotless and uncorrupted work an image of god reflecting the sanctity of the lord the more illustrious part of the flock of christ the glorious fruitfulness of our mother. The church takes pleasure in them and flourishes abundantly in them and more lustrous virginity increases who ranks the more the joy of our mother increases and in another place at the end of the letter he says as we have borne the likeness of the earthy. Let us bear. Also the likeness of the heavenly this image virginity bears and so integrity sanctity. In truth those mindful of the teaching of god barrett. So those who hold to justice with conscientiousness who are steadfast. In faith humble in few brave and enduring everything meek and bearing injustices willing to show mercy of one mind and one heart in fraternal piece each of these things. You should observe love and fulfil own good virgins who free forgotten. Christ lead the way by reason of your nobler and better lot to the lord to whom you have vowed yourselves you who advanced in us be instructors for the younger ones. You who are younger. Be a help to the older ones. And an incentive to your equals. Animate yourselves by mutual encouragement provoke one another to glory by emulating examples of virtue and bravely proceed spiritually attain. You're on the successfully. Only remember us then when you're virginity begins to be honored style. Moderate yet ornate. Amro's also describes two virgins who have made religious profession as if by way of example what they are to copy in their conduct when he says she was a virgin not only in body but also in mind since she did not defile her pure heart by any contact with dissent humble of dignified language. Discreet in mind rather moderate and speaking in quite attentive to study placing her confidence not in the uncertainty of riches but in the prayer of the poor man attentive to our work modest in speech accustomed to seek as the judge of her conscience. Not man but god hurting no.

"Or is your statement. Hey look at me. i'm hot here. i'm somebody you'd better watch how you deal with me. Because i'm the man or the woman so off you go to school right kids and you gotta have the right designer clothes. Gotta have the right the right jacket. Why so. you'll be cool. Other kids will look at. You got money. they're together. Better treat him special. And then you gotta have the right electronic equipment. You gotta have the right cell phone. Gotta have the right little player for the music. Mom and dad got to have the right car. The right hairdo the right address to know how to my soul. It was to say. I live with tim. And liz rhody five years of not having a home having our grandson live with us most of that time sleeping on the floor beside us on the carpet and then tim stood up in front of all of his staff and he said i want to introduce you. My pastor's ray jan greenlee they were my housemates for five years and he was proud of it and i said jesus. I've been so ashamed of it. Because living with tim and lists said i couldn't provide for my family to understand what i'm talking about tonight. Jesus is saying he doesn't want any more vain glory. He doesn't want any more building up of our sense of self esteem. Empty pride by posturing ourselves in a way. That says. i'm somebody better deal with me. Have you ever seen a blowfish. See some danger at puffs itself all up and sticks spine out. I mean they're not worth a nickel the eat. There's no flesh on them. They're just all bones but all man they want to blow themselves up and they wanna look quite something to be feared. I mean they're the shark of the ocean just a blowfish. Any of you been blowfish this week. A high tell you. I'm first cousin to bluefish. Jesus is saying. Don't pump yourself up. Don't pretend to be somebody important. Don't don't act like you're the man or the woman or the guy or gal. Don't walk that way he's saying your relationship to means anything to you. Do don't walk in that foolishness anymore. Landside don't pretend to be somebody anymore. The only one you might full is yourself now. Listen to what he says. Each of you should not look after only your own interests but also the interests of others in other words. You're walking jesus in the body of christ you wanna keep one eye out constantly for that person who's falling behind. You wanna keep an eye out for that person who looks troubled. You want to keep an eye out so you can step forward and put your arm him and say. Hey what's going on but in order for you to be able to step in beside a person they've got a know that you're not there vainglory so they've got to no. You're not there to play games. You're going straight ahead. Jesus soul is flowing in your body. It's not the sole of flesh anymore. It's the soul of jesus himself and that soul is flowing in your heart and because of that you're coming up close to them and saying oh are you all right. Can i help you with that. Self sacrificial love begins to pour for others and this stuff has to happen homer. It'll never happen in church. Spirit of judgment has to be cut off between husbands and wives between fathers and sons between daughters spirit of judgment has to be cut off. Your attitude should be the same as that of christ. Jesus now listen to what jesus attitude was who being in the very nature of god did not consider equality with god. Something to be grasped. After in other words. Jesus is god and he said i don't need to be got anymore. None of us are god. But all of us think we have to grass for being god and jesus is saying if you've seen anything about my life that has touched you with love or encouragement or compassion. Give up trying to be god. Lay it down and made himself nothing taking the very nature of a servant do law slave being made in human likeness being found in appearances. A man he humbled himself and became obedient to death. Even death on a cross. This is the worst possible. Shame man could be given stripped of his closing hung up on a cross in incredible pain and suffering for the whole world. watch with no dignity. That's where he ended up and he's saying each of us lay down your pride. Thank you so much for joining us. "If i go to debra and say debra this. This is what. I want you to do this music. I don't want anymore praying here. I'll do the praying in this church. I want you just to step in and sing. make it roll like a drum. What's going to happen in our body. Denver's going to say pastor sold. Its running this church. It's not the holy spirit is not jesus sold its running this church. I'm not gonna do it anymore. Because i can't do it if it's not jesus soul because i know her heart she only wants to do with jesus wants her to. Do you follow what. I'm saying to you tonight as we flow together as one soul. Jesus we can trust what he will do with the body. See i don't need to use my social engineering skills to build the body of christ. I just need to keep my hands off it and let jesus built it. The scripture says that have the lord does not build to house. The workers work in vain. I just talked was a dear brother. Who whose church just one out and borrowed fourteen point nine million dollars to build their new building and i said to why. Why did they do that. And he said because they want to touch the city for jesus but they're doing it through their human flesh. Now we can do the same thing. Do you know how easy it is to slip from. Following jesus to following a man and how easy it is to slip over a begin to say okay. We've got a whip this seeing shape. We've gotta make it work the way it's supposed to work. Let's get this thing shaped up. Why in a minute. This chases church. This is his body and so when we come into this house. I expect to see the elders stepping forward in prayer. I expect to see the elders in the name of jesus to this fellowship. I expect the sunday school teachers. To be ministering in the name of jesus out of the spirit of jesus out of the soul of jesus to our children. Are we going to have to listen carefully to yes. Are we going to make mistakes. Yes are we going to repent yes and get back on track. I expect each of you. Who comes to this fellowship to come ready fervently to enter into the prayer. Expect you to come with hearts eager. Self-sacrificing hearts ready to come and put yourself beneath your brother and sister as a servant to your brother and sister without any arrogance or any haughtiness or any hardness of heart without any anger bitterness to come and be of one accord with no private agendas coming with a heart full of praise and gratitude. That jesus christ is moving among us he goes on in case you missed it verse. Three do nothing out of selfish ambition. Do nothing out of selfish ambition. I said lord what is what is selfish ambition so i went back to the greek. It literally means. Do nothing out of contention. Contention is not the principle by which we are to act or by which we are to be governed we are. We are to form no plan. We have no name. We have no objective. Which is secured by contention. Let's cut it real straight. If in your relationship with another person a spirit of contention rises up in your heart you knew immediately. You are walking in the presence. And in the power of a spirit of darkness we have not been called to be contentious. We've not been called to be argumentative at work especially in our families. If i get into a spirit of contention with my wife. I know immediately. I'm walking in a spirit of darkness. The will of god is never accomplished by a spirit of contention. I must have my way. I must have what i need. You're not taking care of me. I have to take care of myself. If you're gonna act that way. I'm just gonna go away outta here. All kinds of contentious punishment and seeking after power have to be utterly cut off from our hearts. The holy spirit will not come into a house where there is a spirit of contention. Children have to be taught not to contend with mom and dad mom and dad have to be taught not to contend who is there a little ones instead everything is brought back to the base. What does the scripture say. What is the way of the cross. How are we called. The function as christ's disciples under discipline. And so if in your heart rises up contention knows that you're walking in a spirit of darkness and some of you say well. Then how do we deal with evil. You put on all of the weapons of warfare.

"Then i left and basically washington was left as the same wicked city. It was when everybody came to town. This wicked city is not going to be changed by wicked people. It's going to be changed by people. Who submitted themselves to jesus christ. And who have repented and who've dealt with the bitterness of their hearts and their finished with it and it's over but now i wanna walk with you through the scriptures and i want to give you a breakdown word by word of what jesus says he wants in order to move among us. Walk with me through the scriptures philippians. The second chapter philippians. The second chapter. Paul begins by saying if you have any encouragement from being united with christ in other words. If there's anything in your heart that finds encouragement because says love shoe if when you read the scriptures there's any comfort there for you if there's any comfort in the love that jesus christ has shared for you if there's any fellowship with the spirit if you have any anointing tonight at all in the spirit of god if there's any hunger in your heart after jesus christ and listen to what paul wants to say to you. Make my joy complete verse to by being like minded by being like minded. I was curious about this word. Being like minded in the greek. What's it really saying. What is like minded literally. It is to regard or seek after the same thing for each other that you seek after for yourself do not have divided interests do not pursue different ends or goals do not indulge counter plans in purposes. Do not seek for yourself. So paul saying if you have any love if you have any sense that god cares for you if you have any sense of his compassion for you then please. I'm begging you be like minded be like minded. Don't have anything in your heart when you come into this body. Don't have anything in your heart that you're trying to accomplish for you or for your family have any following. Don't come into this place and try to create for yourself what you want. Don't don't come and say okay pasture if you'll do this and this and if you'll say this and if you will provide this then i'll be happy. No you won't be happy here. Because i'm not gonna do that. I'm not going to engage in those social practices that build worldly social organizations either. Jesus has to be enough for us at the national birch apple or. We're not going to be happy here if you need a sense that you're accomplishing something. You're in the wrong house. See we didn't come to this house to accomplish something. We came to this house to repent. We came to humble our hearts. We came to say. Jesus i give out being in charge. I give up being in control. I give up saying i've got the answers. You jesus are the answer your the truth. I'm not the truth. You're the truth and learn how to walk that out now. It says having the same love having the same love and the word for love of course which will not surprise. You is got bay having the same self sacrificing how to toot so when i come to my brother david. The lord is saying have an attitude toward david. David how can i sacrifice myself for you. Not having anything of my own going not saying how can how can i get david on my side not saying. How can i use david. What can i get from him. No it's tv. how can i serve you. How can i serve you now. It's easy for me to say. That was david because he's such a lovable guy. But what about somebody. I might not like who said something to me. That upset me. Lord is saying through paul. Go to that person and sacrifice yourself for that go to them and sacrifice yourself for them some of you your husband your wife. If your husband would just do this if you would just behave if you would just do what you ask them to. The lord is saying well you sacrifice yourself or your husband some of you husbands. You're saying if my wife would just clean the house up my wife would just be the homemaker i want her to be. He's saying you go sacrifice yourself or your wife. We sacrifice yourself for your wife. That's what he's saying like minded having no personal agenda having the same love that is having self sacrificing love one for another and then it says being one in spirit and purpose. i said. wait a minute. what's that mean. The implication is a bit terrifying to me. I have a hard enough time being one spirit with my wife. That's got my plea full. He's saying be one spirit with everybody in the church google..

"one mind" Discussed on National Prayer Chapel, Pilgrim's Progress

"Dealing with various processes for building a social organization and for many years as a pastor. I worked very diligently at this process. Now part of what. I'm going to share with you. Comes out of just basic church growth in our culture today and the psychological understandings that had been brought to it when you gather a group of people together. The first question that is always raised. Can i be a part of this group. Is there room for me in this group. And where do i fit. In in this group where will be in the pecking order in this group and then the philosophy goes that a pastor needs to allow and create opportunity for conflict between people within the congregation. But to do it in such a way that it can be managed so that it's not destructive and so you hold meetings of various kinds committee meetings you let people have access to each other and you. You allow conflict to emerge because if conflict can come and they can get it out of their systems and they can come to an agreement about how they're going to work with each other then you'll have peace in the church and they say if you don't do this you will have what they call street fights where conflict will pop up anyway because regardless of what you do so goes the teaching you will have conflict in any social organization and so you can either manage the social conflict and try to point it toward productive direction. Or you're going to have the conflict and it will be explosive and destructive and of course any of you who've been in church very long no that there's a level it's a two hundred member barrier you can be a unified family until you reach about two hundred people and then you're going to have social explosions. People are going to get mad and a piece of the church will tear off and we've experienced that in this fellowship. Where suddenly somebody gets mad at somebody in the church and they blast them and then they tried to get the pastor to agree with them. About how bad this person is and then if that doesn't work somebody gets an and they leave and they say i'm never coming back and then of course when they leave to protect yourself in the church you have to demonize the person who got mad and say how bad they are and how good we are so that we're all safe and secure in our little social group and feel comfortable about being here even though somebody's gone well this. This is all just social process. That is in the text books you can go. Look it up and read it. I'm not talking about anything that isn't widely recognized in social dynamics. Many of you have been exposed to these principles. roggio group processes are very common process. Today i was trained specifically in rhode jerry in therapy and in reality therapy and so now i come as a pastor as every pastor dozen and says okay. What tools do i have in my tool bag to maintain peace and decorum within the body of christ. So that it's safe for everybody and nobody gets mad and goes away. And i have steadfastly refused to use any of those tools. I will not use a psychological overlay on the body of christ to somehow try to manage a church so that it will be a fast growing and positive and everybody knows their place and everybody understands when they're going to get nipped in when they're not going to get nipped and i'm not going to do that. My model is much closer to that of saint francis of assisi. Who went all the new young hot blooded men began to flood into his organization and they began to demand radical changes. He simply said. I need to have some time to pray. And so he went off to a cave for that winner and spent the entire winner in the cave praying and when he came back some months later he discovered that the hotheads were gone and everyone was welcoming him back and saying. Let's follow. jesus well. That's a pretty risky way to manage a church but now let's be very specific about some issues. I remember the first elders meeting at the national prayer chapel and of course i hit everybody seated comfortably a nice circle socially acceptable. And i ask the question. What would you like to share today and elder. after elders. We went around the circle. Many of them had something very negative to share. I don't like the way the music is going. And i don't like the way the children's department is going. And i don't like this and i don't like that i said there's an easy solution to that. We just won't have anymore elders meetings because we're not safe to meet with each other. We're not safe and all but four of those elders left the church because if they weren't going to have a position and if they weren't going to have power they were going to leave now. I'm dealing with the issue having a leadership meeting as i've been praying about that i've been constantly delayed by the lord and having that leadership meeting. You know why we're not safe yet. We're not safe. We could have a leadership meeting and out of that leadership meeting. We're going to have some intense conflict emerge contention bitterness breaking or i could step in and manage the conflict and help. Okay you compromise a little this way and you compromise a little this way. Let's make room for everybody here at the table do realize what the national per chapel is really about. It's not about programs. It's not about growing. It's not about looking good. It's about repentance. It's about repentance. It's about getting right. So that the power of god can flow through us to accomplish in this city what he wants to accomplish and so the lord is directed us to keep it real simple when we have a leadership meeting. You know what we're going to have a leadership meeting to pray. Pray because this thing is not going to be accomplished by skill of human heart or hand. It's going to be accomplished by the power of the spirit you see. I've seen and you've seen all the best organized groups come into the city. The million man march. I mean i was there. I participated and.

Outrospection

"I spoke at a unity church last sunday. About how important. It is for us to balance introspection without prospection as a kid. I spent hours alone in my room reading drawing and building model airplanes. If i misbehaved at school. My parents couldn't punish me by yelling. Go to your room because my room is exactly where i always wanted to be instead. They literally locked me out of the house and said go play outside like a normal kid makes them friends. And while i'm not condoning this parenting method in hindsight. It probably did me some good mind you. This was years before we had terms for introverts extroverts. Kids on the spectrum and so on children were either considered to be well adjusted. Meaning that followed the one-size-fits-all set of behavior rules and guidelines to fit in or they were considered misbehaving troublemakers. Outcasts the only place. I actually sit in was an after school programs to learn pascal software and robotics. Which is where i made a couple of friends who otherwise also pretty much kept to themselves although alone time is healthy. So were the hours. I was forced to socialize with others whether locked outside the house. So i can play with the neighborhood kids or tori school field trips and camping adventures much to my resistance. At the time just as i was entering teenage years my family moved from small town in the northern most part of israel where grew up to california the high school i attended in san francisco not only had more students in it than my old town had residents but i was suddenly surrounded by asians blacks latinos and maybe a handful of other caucasians. It was a culture shock. In fact i probably would have gone into actual shock or drawn inward even more had. I not been encouraged to socialize in my earlier years. I'm not saying. I was well adjusted. I'm still not but i managed to quickly learn. English makes him friends and stay curious about everyone's culture religion and ethnic background. I asked so many questions because nothing. No one resembled anything to which i had previously been exposed. I joined what was called. Sf net a network of computers and coffee shops around san francisco with coin operated dialup modems. Long before computers had windows or mice just a black screen and a keyboard essentially offering a chatroom of sorts for up to thirty people at time either dialing in from their homes or from other coffee shops in the netters we called ourselves had net gets like bonfires on the beach or meetups at bars on ashbury back when nobody checked your id tecate in through sf net. I met people from all walks of life college kids adults and even befriended kids my own age. Who were homeless by choice. Living on the streets and sleeping and golden gate park as a result of all this exposure to such a variety of individuals. I didn't have the same knee jerk judgment that my parents had about other races religions homeless people and so on i truly believe visibility leads to acceptance the first time i saw someone with blue hair and facial piercings. I was blown away but the nineties had more than its fair share rebels and mohawks so nothing shocked me after a couple of weeks. Think about what it must have been like the first time someone saw an interracial or same sex couple holding hands walking down the street a few decades ago the first time may have been shock but it were off the more people were exposed to it until as just another happy couple granted in some areas and for some people that still a shock but to others. It's no big deal and that's because visibility is what leads to acceptance exposure opens our eyes first minds. Second an hartford. The key to empathy and compassion therefore is connection not just seeing punk rockers on mtv but having coffee with them on a thursday night. I guess i was forced to grow up in much the same way. I was forced out of the house. When i was younger. Residents of major metropolitan cities are exposed to different cultures beliefs and backgrounds on a daily basis. So they tend to be more open minded than people who never leave their rural areas. Where anyone who doesn't fit in is considered a freak that absence of exposure and connection leads to judgement and segregation. But we can expect the so called freaks to intentionally move to rural areas in order to open people's eyes minds and hearts. It's up to each one of us regardless of where we live to stop thinking of anyone as other and get curious instead of judgmental in a way only out rejection makes introspection possible. If that makes sense how would we know being judgmental if our rigid boundaries are being challenged. We can't heal what we refused to confront the logic of not criticizing what we haven't even made the effort to understand because once we understand. There's nothing left to criticize implies by definition that if there's anything about which i'm still being judgmental the problem is me. It means i have more work to do. It's not somebody else's job to explain themselves to me. It's up to me to do the work to look outside myself to understand the bigger picture where there's room for everybody

But that might be just that you in very plain english. It would be that people participate for a long time The wise and the cit. We should participate. We touched upon and to be only a thing of arrived at a position. At the moment where i think the wise very important at the think if we're talking about meaningful engagement than it's the individual who funds that meaning as we've touched upon so to be saying to young people. You need to do this because it keeps you healthy. I think we probably shoot ourselves in the foot Started questionable one. We need to know if they saw and to. What would happen if you just. Because and just like his physical activity. We can teach you about to begin. Hopefully teach you to love it and really adopted in your life. And you don't need it because you find that because so with backdrop we've been grappling will be lives that i think the missing link is without actually know during the a a young person's schooling an uncle set against the backdrop of scored in the is applicable outside the scope Within a school. You've got peak teachers. An order of this great work. That working really hard to get kids turned onto physical inactivity yet. We do not know if they are actually do any physical activity outside vow ice shelf with at being a typically. Listen some kids might to some extra stuff that the school puts on but you know. We don't know that and then drawing from from commerce really is i if you you know we. We started off when we started this journey around my move asking the question if apple did it. Not how many computers they were selling and let's face it. That's the very straightforward cow. If they didn't know how many downloads have i tunes would have then they would be a seriously week position in the world that we live in. Just you know that information is very very powerful. I'm wondering reasons it's powerful for me. The biggest drivers of getting up an out is to provide the feedback loop full teachers very much touches. Upon many of the things we've already covered in impart one mind. The equity now is every school using my mood for equitable sees right now. Couldn't tell you. But if i want if as a teacher i wanted to know who the beneficiaries of my program are an is there patsy this just say gender parity in other words Of the goes. I teach at a point interactivities much as the boys. On many of the shots and the right now? We're above it and the monthly does look pretty strong. We don't have that wonderful uptrend. That I would like to say, but I'll tell you what it. It looks a heck of a lot better than I did a couple of months back. So Moose sitting pretty I'm not too dissatisfied. So we are very flat not much in the wild but unity, they're on Bitcoin from my point of view. But as we can sold I didn't here does pretty nice period of. Accumulation. Way Bitcoin sits in those Ryan remember the Greis scalise buying like mad they own something like three percent or something like that at the bitcoin supply. It allows them to allow people to get involved, become more bitcoin to become most kissed their full. When we do have some reason for it to move higher, it should move high at five last longer it takes to build it up the better. We should say a move come out of it depending. How the growth as with this market is so still so smaller like I was touching on yesterday the immaturity of these market. Is Real you know it really real it so we haven't got. Not a great deal of interest from me on the old bitcoin cash contract eighty still very saad, wise needs to push up. To get each Y. above to thirty five dollars if it can get about two, thirty, five, then we. got a much better opportunity that trend will bay and things will start to look a heck of a lot of bad up on to like a it was up yesterday I believe it or not yet it was up one point one, eight percent it's been a while. But did close up the security and the trend still not where I needed bay to have exactly what I want but. Off Forty six dollars and twenty five cents base via. Joe Exotic special looks at ‘Tiger King’ star's life before the fame

"Tiger King you're going to like what's on Discovery Channel and I love Discovery. It's Ah, it's a show is going to tell us how the Tiger King became the tiger king. What happened to Joe Exotica in the beginning of years of early life is going to be in depth interviews, but even more impressively, the guy I'm getting Ray bring in Hey, was a police art officer at just 20 years old. Through that 80 f DEA, FBI, even secret Service. Hey, worked with undercover and before I go any further on his success. I want to bring him in right now. Derek, how are you? Hey, thanks for having me appreciate it, and I want to make sure it's Derek Love Oscar, right? Sounds good to me. Okay. Call you Derek. Listen, man, I want to talk about this show because I'm when the first ones that got sucked into this tiger King on Netflix. What? It was just what a compelling show you have a show tonight. It's on Discovery Channel watching, but I want to talk about your credentials of 1st 20 years old. You get hired on as a police officer. Then you become a sergeant. You're later assigned to special investigations. You work for the F D, a FBI secret service. There's credentials on and on and on on on even a best selling author. You write this book. The book is called the Undercover Edge. You publish it in 2018 and then bam. Within five days, it's selling out on and bookstores and on Amazon. Is there anything that you ever failed in life, man? A lot of bills a lot of fails, and I actually On someone who embraced failures because faces failures where the lessons are and from those failures. I've learned to push myself more and and try to never make the same mistake twice, but yet listen failures part of life. And if you're not failure, you're not trying. I always Try to push myself beyond what I think I'm capable of. And the only way to really find out what you're capable of to get to a point where you're felling. I've done that many times. And I'm okay with that. I'll continue to do it. Well, Okay, So let's talk about what's happening tonight. Discovery Channel. I love it. They're the programming is second to none. And tonight at 10 P.m. nine Central, You have a show called Joe Exotic before it was King. A snapshot And in this, you tell the story. What made Joe exotic Joe exotic? What happened to him in his childhood? You interview all kinds of people. How did how did this come around? How did this project come around? And what do you think about your experience doing it? It was a great experience, You know? Listen, I don't want to be involved with something that was just capitalizing on the success of the Netflix series. I want to come at it from a different perspective. And, you know, I think from an investigator's point of view, and from what I know our viewers, and I'd like to watch its how the mind works. Why a criminal becomes a criminal, and that's the perspective we took here. Why Joe dot in the way he is so This is kind of a prequel. To the Netflix special. We dive into Joe exotic childhood. His life as a young adult. And how he became the person we know. Today, I tell your king. At one point, there were a bunch of families sitting on the other side of the glass, all pointing at their little babies and the bastard. That's that one's mind at that point, he doesn't have a mullet, and he's not thinking about killing Carol Baskin so and there are people in life l they'll try to point to what changed them. I moved to a different neighborhood. Then I fell in with the wrong crowd and got into drugs. There's always some little apex and little point where life goes the other way. With with Joe Exotic is there like one thing one trigger. You could point you that said, Okay, This is what did it to him. You know, Listen, I'm not a psychologist. But if I had to say for me personally, what I thought was kind of a crossroads where he went wrong way was that is he had a he had a brother, who was really into an apple. They open their store together and Unfortunately, his brother was tragically killed in a drunk driving car accident, and I think that his brother's not only served as like a role model, but also somebody kept Joe on the right path. And as soon as he was no longer there Obviously, the traumatic, you know, Event itself really shook Joe, but also when those future decisions came up after his brother's death, instead of going the right way, he went the long way. And it was just a trickle effect. Where, you know, one bad decision led to three more And I think that was really the moment where Joe lost his way because he lost that role model that he could confide in and look up to Tonight, Joe Exotic Before he was King premieres on investigation, Discovery and such a great channel about second and not again and programming. It's just so compelling, and tonight we're going to be looking at where you are, and it's in depth interviews, even one of his husband's you interview on this law enforcement on and on. It's an end depth. Look at what made Joe exotic Joe exotic in a skin a sub Early days. It really wait, try to take it from a deeper dies. It's Joe exotic from the Netflix special covered really answered the question. How and why he became the way he is today and listen throughout the episode. There's going to be moments where you feel bad for Joe, and there's going to be moments when you're really angry with him, and that's that's intentional week. It's okay to feel bad for someone because of what they experience and it's also okay to feel bad for them. But understand that they're where they should be. Which in this case is in prison, So you know that's that's what we're hoping to achieve here tonight. Well, I can't. I can't wait to watch this. And here's what I'm wondering. When this tiger king came out it was right. It could have been timed better. Derek, listen was right. A cove in 19. Everyone was starved for something to do or watch because we were stuck in our homes and people. Benj, watch this over and over. It was a time It was the topic of our show almost every single day. But with them said he always had accusations that Carol Baskin had killed her first husband. He even went as far to say he fed her to the Tigers. If I've got to think that this special is going to be a huge success, are there already talks in another special where you might be able to look into Carol basket as well? I know there's investigators doing that, in fact, is a special tonight before our special called Tigers. Lies. I don't know the name. I apologize, but it's radar is on right before ours, And it's an investigator that looks into whether or not Carol basket could have been. Responsible for the death of Don Luis and what that means for Joe exotic. So that's something you're into making tonight. Grab some food have. Ah, sit down and tune in for both things were back to back talking with Derek Lava, sir. When you when you watch that show, it's like these can't be real people. Each person is more bizarre and fascinating than than the last one. You talked to give us a couple of people We didn't see maybe on Tiger King that you talked to for this special that are really unique and interesting. Well, you're going to get Ah, I think the biggest one that you're going to hear have is ah phone interview with Joe, exotic ex husband, the one who was actually stood over his bed and put the put the gun in Joe exotic face. He's also in prison right now for murder, and he shed some light on the relationship between him and Joe, but also some of the things that were going on a far polygamy and you know, you know, sex and drugs and I think that you know, the people who visited the do the do did not know about. They did not see from Joe when he came out, put on his whole, you know, show Part of what intrigues me so much about this special is when the Tiger King special the Siri's ended on Netflix it seriously left. Just start for more. Tonight on investigation Discovery. We kind of get that MME Orb because they tried to do a special was mostly zooms and this and that, But tonight there's actually uncovered footage and home movies. Photos that you guys have acquired and that's going to be shown as well. Is that correct? That's correct. It's not going to be just a rehash of the Netflix special. Like I said before, it's the prequel to the Netflix special. So if you enjoyed Tiger King, and you're looking for a little bit more of an in depth perspective of Who Joe is because that's really what we focus on then then this is probably something you should check out. I probably don't want to know the answer to this. They did a pretty good job of hiding any potential animal abuse and the show was that a part of his life, though 100% 1000%, and that's that's why I am part of this is well. This man was responsible for the killing of at least five innocent tigers and himself at court admitted that there were many more and I really hope that when this is all said and done, 10 15 years from now what we remember about this whole Tiger King phenomenon. Is that it was the start off the end of, you know, exploitation and killing of tigers and also that don lose his family get the closure they deserve and find out what happened to their father. If that's what ultimately comes from all of this, you know chaos. And I'm all for it. I hope it's just not for, you know, 15 minutes of fame for Joe and Carol. No,

Temptation or persecution without seeing revival in their lifetime they also did that through prayer. Our prayer of course cannot force God's hand but are only way forward is to seek his will together are purse can't control God. But we can invite him to change our hearts and minds including our own gods always working in our lives whether we realize it or not. But something powerful and world changing happens when people pray for God's spirit to move. The, Great Jonathan Edwards urged his fellow pastors to quote be much in prayer and fasting both in secret and with one another it is God's will. He said that the prayers of his saints shall be great and the principal means of carrying on the designs of Christ's kingdom in the world. When God has something to accomplish for his church, it is with his will that there should precede it the extraordinary prayer of his people Paul even tells us to pray for all things at all times for sesame chapter five specifically for our leaders both spiritual and secular as what the

"And this is an article from tech crunch roablocks jumps to over one hundred and fifty million monthly users will pay out two hundred and fifty million to developers in twenty twenty. the article goes on to say the gaming platform roadblocks, which has seen a surge of us the coronavirus pandemic. now has more than one hundred and fifty million monthly active up from one hundred, fifteen, million, it announced in February. So from February. Two today just white like four months. a pretty substantial increase in users and. A an almost doubling of a more than doubling of what developers earned on the platform from last year last hundred, ten, this year two, hundred, fifty, million. So massive. Growth William. Roadblocks is not aimed at you or me. I don't think either of us have ever. I don't know I think I have played beat one mind for your South Hall Oh I. Don't know are you on rocks all the time? Twenty four seven I I if I know. To be. To be very fair roadblocks is a game that is I. I have some existential frustration about raw blocks right I feel like it's a game where creativity outweighs execution, which I think for some people is perfect and I think for other people like me at Arc's a little bit. But like you, you can't deny these numbers and I think for the longest time I slept on box right I'll be the first to say like I was I viewed them as the knockoff is the minecraft knockoff young honestly you know like I I think. That's fair of you to have done to. Well don't give me too much credit arguably for a while that was true. But what you really see here is two very unique things very unique things. One is you see rob blocks really emerging as a tier one gaming business like this. You just can't argue with these numbers, right? Like this is this is you might not like carrying the words. Fortnight. League of legends, raw blocks in the same sentence, but I'm going to start to feel comfortable putting those things in the same sentence because they're just games with massive user bases and massively entrenched gaming community such one thing you take away from this. From this, interestingly, enough if I'm fortnight I think this is my biggest competitor I. Truly do I truly do because if you look at what four-night maybe is trying to be a sort of more than game, a social hub something around in network right? We talked about this another like I would argue rob locks might be a little further down that line right there. Already have this whole creativity sharing shopping interface different that I think is is maybe closer to the sort of ideas and interactivity marketplace that that Ford would like to be a and I'd also say they have a younger user, which is a big advantage in these demo walk ends, Right With these networks youngest user platform wins so. I'm not saying it's lights out for at all guys are GonNa do very well but like it's weird to me because this new cement cemented something I felt for a while, which is fortnight's biggest competitor is rob locks and that's a weird sense but I really

The Tech Guy: Emails bouncing

"In Pleasanton. Thank you Kim. Hello Jim I Leo. How're you I'm great? How are you? I got something here? I wanted to find out what time it is in by Kava Belgian Congo. That is to smoke. That is a blast from data. That's something I had saved to my computer back when DOS was only at three letters exactly. Yeah I started doing this show in the early nineties with John C John was little. Add he get bored. So I I gave him some sound effects start collecting them and that was that big ended up being his favourite. I think our signature sound effect for the longtime couldn't figure out where it came from was from an old dennis. The menace episode. Dennis finds a shortwave radio. And that was that was what he heard on his short rate. I didn't know where it came from. Either but I used to manage a bunch of Sun workstations and servers and I learned how to transmit audio to the servers and these guys would be sitting there doing nothing. I'd play that for. You are funny man. It has a life of its own. Well it's so nice to talk to you that means you've been listening to me rattle on for well back. Then was new. Yeah practically thirty years Lee. Moly IT WAS. It was different. Wasn't it in those days? It was windows. Three one one windows for workgroups it was dos and then we had things like floppy disks. And you don't we didn't have. We really didn't have the Internet. That's what it was. That changed everything. It was where I worked. We had Cloud service in Sunday. You don't know where to go when there's a lot of fun anyway. I'm having trouble. I WANNA keep you here but My female. I manage A bunch of People retirees from where I used to work in around me around four hundred people now and then getting messages from US Jimmy L. Which is fine but now. I'm getting measured. Says there was a problem and delivering your message and Known as recipients server did not accept our request to connect now. I have a question for you on that. So there's two possibilities was it an actual email that you sent or your clients sent. I sent but it is one. You can see the email that you tried to send because one time that happens to a lot of people and you may have seen this also because spammers or notorious for using your email address never going to use their email address in the return. Sure so when they send out a million emails and your in your address is the return address. You'll get a certain number of bounce backs. That's that's just internet background noise. But but if it's an actual email that you tried sending have you actually sat down and tried resetting that email and watch it and see it come bouncing back and you're sure an extra actually? It'll it'll do that over a period of days because it will tell me trying. Yeah it'll keep trying and you're sure you have a proper email address right. It's an existing. Email address is is one particular host you're sending to well I'm sending to There's four of them that gives me trouble. One of them is earthlink link. The other one's mind spring was Netcom. And then there's another one people peach or something but it's no accident that all of those are really old. Isp's yard that's right. That's right there. Seems to be a commonality. All of that. And we retirees your all of your. Yeah all of your email addresses. G Mail is of course run by Google and his run very well by Google G. Mail adheres to all the modern standards. So I I don't know why mine Spring Mind Spring. Wow there's a blast from the past earthlink dot com. I don't know why they're refusing mail from G mail it. It probably means that those people aren't getting a lot of males since almost you know everybody uses g mail now and you know if the other way around I might understanding because g mail in order to reduce spam a good inbound emailer. We'll do a lot of things like reverse. Dns they'll do some authentication things like SPF and stuff and they may refuse mail from a server that doesn't identify properly. You know doesn't records or something like that. Yeah that sounds to me like earthlink. Netcom and mine. Spring are miskin figured in some strange. I've done this for years and all of a sudden on me. This started to happen. A May fifth for whatever reason it sounds to me like I would guess because again. Google is very modern inch. And it's probably that on May fifth. They flipped a switch for some new standard that mind spring net common and earthlink. Aren't currently adhering to GonNa have to do some research. I think he emailed. Who Do I email that? Earthlink man earthly. Yeah Yeah admitted it would probably do it. earthlink. Yeah it's something they're doing and you know what if it's happening to you? It's happening a lot so they'll likely fix it. I'M GONNA I'm a little research. Keep listening if you

Why Negative Prices Exist and What They Can Teach Us

"Last week? The price of the May twenty twenty West Texas intermediate crude oil futures contract known as WTI fell to as low as negative thirty seven dollars per contract that means the holder who was long oil was willing to pay to exit the contract. Cnbc markets reporter. Pippa Stevens wrote on Monday for the first time on record west Texas intermediate the US oil benchmark plunged below zero and into negative territory before Monday. Many thought this was impossible. Maybe just maybe it could drop to zero effectively erasing. All value but negative territory seemed unimaginable. Not least because it's hard even to wrap one's mind around it pay someone to take your oil in this episode. We're going to see why oil prices went negative. We'll also look at other examples of negative prices and why they exist and what we can learn from them. The WTI futures contract has a physical settlement which whoever holds the contract when it expires receives a barrel of oil the contract settles in Cushing Oklahoma. That's where that of oil is delivered if he owned the contract. That's where you're going to get your oil or at least arrange for somebody to store it for you. Us crude inventories are near an all time record high. In cushing Oklahoma. Seventy percent of the storage capacity was four as a mid April and a Reuters. Article suggested that most of the available space already leased out. There's nowhere to put that oil. That is being received as part of the future contract settlement. Now the May oil futures contract has since expired and now the June oil futures contract is the front month contract that will expire in the third week of May. Yesterday the June contract fell twenty five percent just under thirteen dollars. They United States oil. Etf USO fell fifteen percent. It has lost eighty three percent year to date leveraged exchange traded funds tied to oil have shut down. They lost all the money products by wisdom tree. Ubs and velocity shares which is owned by Janice. Jim Cramer said there are times in life where people know that there's an instrument that is faulty and they can shoot against that instrument and bury these people there is this financial problem people who are buying the USO that United States oil energy T.F. Bay our financial people. So if you're a real person or you're a large contractor a large player they can wipe out the USO in. I think that's been what's going on. It's not a conspiracy. It's a reality when you have an organization that can't take delivery. Well you should crushed that organization every time and that's what probably happened. Who are these people that are getting crushed that own USO? Well some of them are retail investors. But most are institutional investors John Highland. He's now retired but he was the former investment officer of the United States Commodity Fund which manages USO. He pointed out that eighty percent of USOC shares are held by non retail investors hedge funds include energy trading desk and other professional players the purpose of this ETF was to allow investors to get exposure to the front month contract of oil at the end of twenty nine thousand nine. It had one point. Two billion dollars under management and the vast majority of its investment at the end of December was in the February wti crude oil futures contract that expired in January every month this ETF would sell that contract right before it expired. And then by the next contract in order to make money it needed to sell that contract for a higher price than what it paid for it right now when you look at the price of West Texas intermediate crude futures contract or is a steep premium as you go further out

How to Keep Going by Greg Audino on Resiliency & How To Build More Resilience In Your Life

"How to keep going by Greg Audino of Greg Ogden. Oh Dot Com. What is it that separates those who keep going from those who don't in times of hardship? How is it that some people find the motivation to continue on while others fall by the wayside and start on a new path a common hardship? That many people face is a lack of motivation. Easy to wish for a rush of motivation to just wash over US and breathe New Light into us but there are just a couple of problems with that. It takes a lot for us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps in. Keep going a lot more than the self-help idiots who just yelled. Don't quit at us. Allow credit for while hard work is something that people very much pride themselves on especially in Modern Day. America does more a product of nurture than nature by nature. Our brains aren't conditioned seek out challenging ways of doing things they're conditioned to restore energy and seek out the easiest way of doing things as possible. Finding the motivation to get through challenging times requires a little extra. But what is that extra well? Let's lighten things up and talk about my very favorite subject for a second the puppies. How is it that we're able to train puppies? Who barely have any means of understanding us to perform certain tasks with as much precision as another human? Would there are two elements reward and repetition if you reward a puppy or any animal for that matter for performing any given task? There'll be more likely to repeat it because the associated with a reward the more times is repeated with the reward. The more simple task becomes for the puppy eventually becoming like second nature. The good news is that we have an awful lot in common with those cute little and one thing is that we speak and rely on universal language of reward and repetition. Every single thing we do is done because we believe that it's in our best interest. All Things considered there's nothing we don't do because we believe it will bring us some form of happiness wherever it may stem from for us to do anything at all. It's necessary for us to believe any reward on the other side. The more were given or reminded of this reward the more likely we are to repeat the behavior. Conversely the more the expected reward is not given to us the harder it is to have faith in its arrival and the less likely will be to maintain. The behavior does the point which many people who have lost their motivation find themselves. They've lost in the inspiration. Keep on trucking because the reward they once believed in seems to be going further out of sight. The big question then is how to combat this well. A lot of reward we seek is something that comes from. The outside is important to remember that even when outer awards are virtual lock. We only have so much control over them side note. It's also important to remember that over time are desired. Rewards may change for example. He may become a plastic surgeon because it pays well and a lot of people time. More money's more happiness you'll enjoy work and go to work dutifully as long as you're getting your expected paycheck but if the time comes when your happiness requires more than money say requires free time. You're working all hours of the day. You'll be less motivated by your job because is now interfering with your happiness. So what happens? In the event that we are not receiving the outer rewards we seek but we still believe in them enough to want to keep going. What do we do when we see the light at the end of the tunnel? But it's getting hard to keep climbing towards it make no mistake. This ideas applicable in a myriad of ways extends far beyond just jobs which seems like it might be easiest to associate this with. The key is to tune into other benefits. A lot of which may be intangible. It can be difficult for many of us to believe in or even be cognizant of intangible rewards but is essential in maintaining good habits. That haven't yet paid off in the ways you envision them paying off what does this look like. Let's use an example of someone who's running for political office which all tread carefully with considering. I'm pretty useless when it comes to politics. Running for office is a huge task. It takes a humongous amount of commitment and the end goal to be elected is pretty clear. Certainly at points the requires sacrifice stands a chance of wing down on the candidate making it difficult for them to keep pushing and ask themselves if it's really all worth it. At this point. The candidate has an option of redefining their definition of quote unquote winning. Even if they don't win the election. Is it not a win? To have engaged more with the community is not a win to have gained the trust of some potential voters. Is it not a win to pay more attention to and do more for those? Who are struggling. Visit not a win to have gained more knowledge about politics. Is He not a win? To have gained more understanding as to the stress. Those currently in office are under the list. Goes on and reframing one's mind to see winning from Wider Lens in this way is very much difference maker when it comes to retaining motivation and don't think for a second that this mindset isn't after the election if they've lost tour for you if whatever you wants to accomplish doesn't come to fruition in the way you thought it would in this way we see that redefining a win by seeking out smaller. More unique winds is also a means of both avoiding regret and gaining gratitude. So if you're struggling to keep going or you're reflecting on that which didn't go as planned. Take this time to ask yourself. What the rewards are that exists. Beyond that one. Hardy goal you envisioned

Michael Jordan, Keanu Reeves And Emile Hirsch discussed on Collider Movie Talk

"So apparently the matrix matrix for it is happening variety reports that loud on what caskey will write and direct a fourth matrix movie with kiana ribs and carrie ann moss reprising their roles so given all the rumors circulating about the matrix. I was surprised to hear this especially given the ending of revolution. So what do do you think about this news. Where could they possibly go with the story. Now i gotta let coin ready for this movie. It's okay in one thousand nine hundred nine twenty years ago. They foretold how ominous technology was gonna be. That movie was so prophetic and now we're living in an age where we often often don't know what's real and what's simulation whether or not you go to burning man. There's a very zatarain surreal quality to what reality is because of fakes because of technology. We've been overcome by technology technology in real life and now there is the perfect time to make the matrix four to retroactively fix the matrix two and three which could have been one very good movie rumor was i heard this this was back in the early two thousands that the animatrix and the matrix two and three it was supposed to be a trilogy but they wanted to do one before the matrix one after the matrix but because of the star wars. I don't know if this is true. Through warner brothers like no no no so they made the animatrix and then they split two and three into two movies but it should have just been one and that's why this movie's filled up loaded. I don't know if that's true but now they can fix that the matrix is more timely than ever keanu reeves is back in another hot streak carrying moscow's incredible and jessica jones. I love the idea of. I don't know why it's it's one which hausky but i love the idea of original crater coming back to a franchise that actually changed cinema. The first matrix is one question for you though so so. I think you use the word retroactively we're. We're talking a lot about ret cons lately but we were talking about something even before the show started that i think might be important to point out here when you say you know do things retroactively ret con whatnot. You're not talking about necessarily just like wiping the slate clean and saying this never happened. You're talking about adding it <unk> adding to it enhancing it. I haven't watched them in years. I've watched the first one planning but the second to there's an entire sequence if i remember correctly with the architect where there's a bunch of nieto's what easier franchise to fix than one where there's that many reality is easier. It's a movie about coding recode. The damn matrix is right there. So all you needed was the people that want it and the technology to catch up to make it different enough to make it worth making and the talent and we got all that in this announcement one of my very favorite things in this announcement is a quote and it says many of the ideas lilly and i explored twenty years ago about our reality are or even more relevant net lake more relevant now. That is the key terms phrase whatever that suggests that this franchise is worth bringing back. I could tell your super into into whatever <hes> was pitching this now well. It's just something i'm really passionate this year in general and storytelling is all the use of parallel realities alternate timelines justice that is also in any property and immediate fixture problem like it's not annoying. It's interesting it's exciting and and this is a- an ideal property to do that with you have to you we also have seen so with halloween. You can go that didn't happen and people will be okay with it. It's totally fine but by incorporating these sort of parallel words or re recoding as you said you don't have to do that you can satisfy both realities without pissing off a fair legion of fans who probably would be like what we saw that happen. It's real may chase recorded voted well. The thing is we say glitch in the matrix in everyday vernacular expression yeah a glitch in the matrix console all three and four we can actually go back and have a deja vu black cat experience and that's exciting and canneries doesn't age. It's very convenient. I that was one of the the biggest things about the story just seeing that the two of them are back but also we only get one which hausky this time which i find very interesting just curious. What do you guys make of that. I mean it is an interesting scenario that you hope is not in any way negative. The fact that lily was mentioned in the press release speaks well and the fact that they've worked together for like forty years see. We looked quite peacefully. I maybe lillies busy. Maybe she feels done with the story. You know there's a lot lot of possible reasons for that but it's it's interesting from a creative perspective if if that is solely lana on her own that i'm curious to see okay how the world might feel different when it's just one mind sort of creating this time around what's interesting to me is is that in conjunction with how many incredible creators came out of the matrix as we have like the john wick team and so many people that we now have directing their own work whether or not they come back to be like first a._d. Or any sort of second unit what the assemblage blue-chip the matrix is because we only have one which hausky instead of the pair so i'm really curious what the movie feels like and we'll be able to tell it's one of them instead of the pair of them because we've only seen them work together to my knowledge. I don't think i've ever seen a single hausky film. I think you're right. I i did like tried to double. Check really fascinating. There's always i'm <music>. I'm an apologist for a lot of their people. Don't like like i'm a big fan of what was the one about the the true through tom hanks. I liked that movie. I the credits of cloud atlas. They reveal who everybody played. Yeah i mean look. I like all of their movies yeah right up on the second for jupiter island because i love that speed racer summons emile hirsch whenever speed racer sir is trending. Emile hirsch was like yes. I'm here in tweets but like speed racer is one of those cult following. I think it came out six months too soon. The world wasn't quite ready for speed racer and the matrix four or is. I hope this is a movie that blows our minds because what they did with bullet time in ninety nine changed things. I can't wait to see what they can do. Twenty years later technology. I'm also curious are as has she says it's more relevant but also our relationship to technology has changed entirely in those decades and i'm very curious what the perspective on it is if it's still the the same. Is there any part of the movie where it's like now. We gotta plug back in the ass plugged in now. I know well. That's what's interesting is ninety nine i. I don't maybe i'm wrong but i don't think phones had internet like or if they did. It was rudimentary pretty average folks. I don't mind texting back marrow's still playing snake on nokia that point and you're doing like corey keyboard texting yeah. I was eleven so i don't remember who had i didn't have internet so what we are now. Now is such a different animal than what that movie represented them but you can watch the matrix now and it doesn't feel old yeah when you watch the matrix the first one it doesn't feel dated so i can't wait to see what they do with the world catching catching up to the reality of the already made. Maybe i'm just i'm afraid to see what they're about to foretell about the future sickly the way they did with the last one hundred forty nine the matrix man. That's a very fair concern very very. I want to know but i'm not sure if i want a fair concern that speaks to how rich this opportunity entity is because it's very exciting because we talk about you know reboot sequels franchises continuing you know twenty years after the last movie came out you name it and we're always like well you repeating something like does this just seems like a really again rich opportunity to continue a popular franchise where you're basically justifying it in the pillars of the franchise itself so i'm pumped and for me. It doesn't doesn't feel like where we have like. Indiana jones nineteen where they're like inventing a new story. The matrix said the video game the animatrix and the two sequels this rich world. They've already built up that they probably had other ideas for or and had ideas for the last twenty. Here's a here's a question from the live chat briefly from who rang who's writing. What does what does it mean for michael jordan. He was mentioned to star matrix matrix reboot. Maybe plays morpheus as son but really quickly before you guys even answer that it was making me think <hes> oddly enough off. I am more into the idea of another matrix movie with keanu coming back with a movie basically being pitched as matrix four rather than getting what we were originally talking about about you know just prequels and different offshoots as much as i like michael jordan i kind of hope that that is done and it's gone and they just move move forward as we were just discussing here. I mean i might be remembering incorrectly but i believe that had a different writer attached they did yeah sounds like a pretty the different project i have no problem whatsoever with michael jordan being in this movie because he's phenomenal and that would be great casting if they want to keep that one little nugget of that project alive. I do please yeah but it sounds that they're pretty separate at least from what the reports read like yeah to me. This is a separate property but if he's on the radar is on the radar so then it's a good thing and it's warner brothers so michael. Jordan is very much on their radar so it's a great opportunity to clarify. I'll take michael jordan anything. It's just when i first read the read the the news or a rumor at that point that that's what they were exploring. I'm like okay but then i hear something like what we're talking about right now and that's the hook. That's how you get me back in. I agree i. I don't think a reboot released spoke to me but hearing the story evolved from an original creator really speaks to the original team for the team sending

Explainer 161: Can Haiti prosper without UN peacekeepers?

"Yeah. When exactly is the right time to say goodbye is the question that has long been pondered by the United Nations as it looks to untangle itself from its long standing peacekeeping presence in the beleaguered Caribbean island nation of Haiti their relationship has gone on for so long. In fact, some fifteen years that it's become hard to cast ones mind back to what it was like before. The full-size u n mission actually already left the country back in two thousand and seventeen. Instead, a smaller police presence has remained charged with training local forces as per a recent u n vote, however that will now be wound down ahead of a full withdrawal bioch- Tober the fifteen for many Haitians including its lawmakers. The departure is long overdue from the days when Brazilians who headed the mission were welcomed with open arms and Urals of football as Renaldo and Renault Denia would spring up malls around capital city, type rants, the relationship has soured. And the good reasons for the first time in U N has admitted their involvement in the cholera outbreak in Haiti new investigation by the Associated Press finds the problem of sexual abuse and exploitation. By peacekeepers is wider and even more disturbing than previously known the first of those is to to an outbreak of cholera started in two thousand and ten just months after the devastating earthquake that killed hundreds of thousands of people the color epidemic that has had several waves with kill more than ten thousand Haitians and be attributed to bacteria brute into the country by the UN peacekeepers who had been charged with helping rebuild the country. And it wasn't until two thousand and sixteen that United Nations would apologize for its actions. We simply did not enough with regard to the cholera outbreak. And yes, a spread in Haiti. We have profounder story for our role as if that wasn't bad enough deep dive probe by the Associated Press has linked peacekeepers to sexual. Abuse and exploitation in Haiti and several African countries. And if the brand wasn't tainted enough by the report, it's two thousand and seventeen headline was peacekeepers as predators and reported a child sex ring organized by Sialang forces within the United Nations despite all of this question does remain the potential power vacuum left by departing troops flare ups and violence may not have any of the terror of the papal, Bobby doc regimes OB revisit of the violence around the alster presidential Detroit received in two thousand and four, but they still happen. New Zealand gun law changes to be announced within 10 days: PM

"Week in New Zealand and the country is still stuck are struggling to make sense of the mass shooting at the end of last week in Christchurch two mosques, which fifty people were killed counter-terror. Police have searched two homes in north West Australia where the main suspect grew up as that investigation continues. New Zealand's Prime minister just into Dern says her cabinets has agreed in principle. She says to toughen the country's gun laws. She said reforms would be announced within a matter of days. I think an incredible that we've been able to bring together the information needed for the principal decision. That's already been made. Now, it's about making sure some of the details and implementation work is prepared. We are of one mind we are absolutely United as a cabinet. So what kind of changes coming? I asked Alexander Gillespie professor of international law at Waikato university in New Zealand. I think it's likely what you're going to have is a ban on semi automatic firearms. And the reason we will do this is because most of the countries indicate similar atrocities like in Britain or like, an Australia. The magnitude of the mass shooting means that the parliament has to act, and it's likely that will now follow that path. I wonder why it hasn't been done before. I mean, I think Australia did it. Well, a couple of decades ago. Didn't they know the close ties between Australia and New Zealand was they're not public pressure for something similar before this attack on Friday. Christchurch shootings: NZ cabinet backs tighter gun laws
