Meet Virginia Attorney General Candidate Jason Miyares
"But there's a fantastic candidate who's also running for attorney general In the state of Virginia And wouldn't it be wonderful if all three statewide constitutional positions flipped And his name is Jason meares Jason how are you sir It is great to be with you Mark So much for thank you so much for having me on Well it's a pleasure Now tell us about yourself Tell the whole country about yourself because you have a very very interesting background as well Go right ahead Well listen I like to say my former prosecutor in Virginia Beach represent that area in the House of delegates now My story actually doesn't begin in Virginia Beach It begins in a vanna Cuba when a scared 19 year old girl got an airplane and you lost in homeless and not on board next meals get to come from And that was my mother Miriam miara is and so you know I tell my daughters all the time gratitude is one of the most underrated of all human traits I was raised to have such gratitude that I can live in this amazing country So my mother fled communist Cuba in the fall of 1965 leaving the only non democracy in the western hemisphere And almost 50 years of the day that she'd last in the fall of 2015 she was able to go into a voting booth and get a ballot and vote for me to represent her in the oldest democracy in the western hemisphere the Virginia accidental gets And so that's what I call the American miracle And we'll be ever forget that it is a miracle It's a precious thing And one of the things that makes it so precious is the fact that we're a country with a first written constitution and recorded history that empowers the individual rather than empowering government And that is what has created more flourishing of human ingenuity and prosperity than any country in the history of the world And we have to remember that as a people or we're quickly going to go to the way of some of these other

Math and Reading Test Scores for Teens Drop Since 2012
"The enormous amount of money we put into our government school seems to be paying off For the unions the educational bureaucrats the Democrat party but not for our kids not for their students Math and reading test scores this is the hill for the country's 13 year olds have dropped sharply In comparison to the numbers from 2012 with some of the lowest scoring test takers falling the furthest behind Data from the national assessment of educational progress and AEP showed that while 2020 average scores and reading and mathematics for 13 year olds marked improvement from NAE's earliest results in the 70s scores had declined since 2012 It was news and were report reported This was the first major score drop in the subjects Since they began tracking long-term academic achievement trends in the 1970s In other words it has plummeted Perhaps even more troubling was the study's finding that some of the most significant drops were from students in the lowest performing percentiles In math for example scores dropped for 9 year olds in the tenth and 25th percentiles Scores fell for 13 year olds in the tenth 25th and 50th percentile In other words those who were not doing well to begin with are doing much much worse I wonder why that is mister producer They're being taught about race They're being taught about genitalia They're being taught about hating America If they're being taught anything

California Laws Harming Owner-Operators and the Supply Chain
"For the last several evenings we've had calls in here from truckers With real world experience in terms of this supply train And one of them pointed out the difficulty for owner operators functioning in California You don't hear this on television news Another one pointed out the difficulty in dealing with the states environmental and regulatory environment You don't hear that Either By the end of the weekend there's going to be over 100 freighters off the shore of long port in LA ports Sitting there in waiting over 100 of these massive freighters with these containers on them These huge containers So I wanted to focus in on this and zero hedge an excellent website As also taken a look at this And he writes there's a couple of astute articles that explain the problem is California has passed two laws One for so called climate change and the other as a sop to the unions that destroyed much of California's trucking industry And in woes unique to the industry and COVID payments that discourage people from working and voila Empty Christmas stockings Stephen green at PJ media explained some of what's going on He says as a preliminary matter truckers are aging out of the job A new ones aren't coming along because federal law requires that truckers be at least 21 years old Kids who leave school at 17 or 18 get involved in other careers leaving trucker
UK counterterror officers lead probe in lawmaker's slaying
"A long serving member of the British parliament was stabbed to death David Amos was meeting with constituents at a church when he was stabbed I think everybody was deeply shocked and saddened heart stricken prime minister Boris Johnson says part of the reason for the shock is that Amos was so well liked above all he was one of the kindest nicest most gentle people in politics but he also had an outstanding record of passing laws to help the most vulnerable a twenty five year old man was arrested at the scene chief constable Ben Julian Harrington says counter terrorism officers are leading this case it will be for investigators to determine whether or not this is a terrorist incident but as always I will keep an open mind Amos was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in twenty fifteen for his service becoming Sir David I'm at Donahue
Unlike the Daily Wire's Luke Rosiak, the Media Didn't Bother to Hear Scott Smith
"Pretty simple question I mean it's so few people unlike yourself doing actual journalism anymore I mean I can think of a few you got you Were you at the daily caller you were 'cause I know I've read your work before I mean it's I mean you have chuck Ross over there does good work Cherry dunleavy at the examiner These are people who do actual investigative reporting which is you know died a long time Lee Smith How did you crack this story I mean did you just do what no one else would do which is just interview the parent and say hey why were you so angry at the meeting I mean I'm believe me I'm not in any way trying to take down the work you did but were you the only guy who thought to go out there and just ask the parent hey hey Scott why were you so angry I think that's right A lot of people made assumptions about this guy There were the reason this happened and it is a massive media failure as well as school failure is because people have caricatures of people with different political deals especially on the left They view people on the right as instead of being human beings who have reasons for believing the things they do there is a common perception that they're monsters They're bigots They're not fees And the reason they do things is simple they're filled with hate and they hate people and they want to harm people And so when they saw the sky a lot of people just said you know he's a liar He has hate for gays That's why he's here He's angry because he's a white man Let's put him in jail And he was trying to tell You can hear on the video that has been replayed by TV channels across the globe for three months on that video while he's getting arrested His wife screams my daughter was raped at school and this is what happens So he was trying to tell people why he was angry No one listened They want him to make they wanted to make him a partisan cartoon And so I did ask him and I did document the things he was saying trust but verify And sure enough his story checked
The Daily Wire's Luke Rosiak Uncovers the Truth in Loudoun County Schools
"I really enjoy your work You're one of the guys out there who give journalists a good name Unfortunately a lot of others do in the opposite You broke in a lot of stories but the one you broke this week has gone nuclear It's beyond viral Give us the details I find it to be one of the most disturbing stories I've read in a long time There are allegations of a sexual assault a cover up CRT transgender stuff at school boards I mean this has everything Just give us kind of the down and dirty of what happened and what you uncovered Sure So it starts with a guy who's been kind of well-known to anyone who watches TV for the last couple of months He's the guy who was famously videoed and photographed being arrested at a school board meeting where transgender policy was being debated He's kind of an overweight guy who is being dragged by the police and his pants are kind of coming down He's got a bloody face It's become an iconic image of used by the media to show kind of this far right angry for no reason but probably because of bigotry showing up to harass public servants And so the national school board association said it is case when they were at that infamous letter calling for the Patriot Act to be invoked when people come to school board meetings And so the question that I had was like I was angry at a school board meaning why was he angry And the story that I found and took a long time to get to the bottom of but a couple of weeks ago I published on the daily wire Three weeks prior to that school board meeting this man's daughter is 15 year old daughter had been forcibly sodomized by Allegedly by a classmate who was wearing a skirt in the girls bathroom And Scott had been Scott Smith as a man's name the father of the victim He was at that meeting trying to get answers Trying to figure out what was going on with this is how to keep his kids safe

"Support that would be the best most helpful for you in this moment. Use your good hands on your worthy body and make it happen and then feel the warmth now resting your awareness on your breath letting your hands for lax. Just take a couple moments here to see and feel your body breathing in and your by breathing out might be easiest at your nostrils or your chester your belly but just pick one of those places and feel and see your body breathing in and your body breathing out letting your mind get a little quieter as you. Rest your awareness on your breath Now opening your awareness to your whole body imagining breath going in and out your skin. Your whole body breathing. Xl really imagining the energy. Going out past your skin. Now thinking of a word that you'd like to breathe into yourself today. Could be peace or ease or hope for love or healing taking a word in on your end breath just for you like somebody's whispering a little love note in your ear just for you taking it in then because we are these vessels for good breathing a word out and it could be to a specific individual in your mind's eye that you love or that suffering or could use a little boost today where you could just painted out over the globe to all beings a word on the out breath mof peace fees. "Abrash in the comics you certainly come to side with him in the face of evil similarly with kali though sam had a great speech very effective a one of the best written for the show. Did you gain sympathy for carly after death. I sent me did little bit little bit. Was sam you know. I think he he phrased so eloquently that he didn't have a problem with her goals. It was her methods. That was the problem the way she was out. He literally in fact she was misguided which is exactly the point and ray continuing is still viewed her evil in the way she didn't consider human life and in brackets. He says she indirectly even says battle stars. Life was pointless very influence. She was a little bit of a sociopath that regard so though i very much sided with sam when he told off the senators i couldn't find the same empathy sam had for carly i think arro- was written quite opened down in that sense. I think we're meant to feel disgust. Then have empathy for her but it was quite a difficult thing to balance. I guess that's the point though. Everything isn't necessarily black and white. Don't think that's that's the conclusion of the message. I haven't missed any now. I just want to make sure i have anything. They're going to cut you off ray. So no exact exactly. I'm just going to check you. Troll here are the hibbs exactly. That's right now we don't we. Don't edit anything whatsoever just checking out here we go okay. Kazaa empathy. No that's it yeah. He everything isn't necessarily black and white so okay so i just went to double check. Okay yeah well. Thank you ray for riding in very much. Yeah next time you can. It's you're okay to come through the front window front door instead of the back window. Like i said exactly we. You woke of your concern. We we definitely appreciate you listening. "I like i like it. It's definitely culturally aware. Were in it is right. You could definitely tell us a twenty twenty movie. That's great at least at least they actually know that when it's gone for it's not like it's dated and there's a lot of easter eggs to the second watch. I noticed a bunch of moving from the series in the one i saw was the exorcist. Goes i love that episode. There there is a lot of Poster easter eggs. Yeah watch out for all right. I'm pretty much sold on that. And with the the order. That i'm watching is actually pretty good. It has about this kid who burst into this college looking for the secret society that supposedly killed his mother and so his grandfather is trying to seek revenge on that secret society and then we also have where wolves who also are also against that as well so he becomes a double agent trying to take down the order warlocks and witches and stuff. What magic ivan loss. That one. Another one that phone lines that i just right just so i haven't got a chance to watch season two yet. I like maybe two episodes away from finishing season one. How many seasons are there out there. what's this one. Would the order just two seasons. So you're able to foot series by what episode of the season. It's like i want to say it's like ten episodes. I think or maybe thirteen somewhere around that area. They don't normally do much more thirteen right three. It's easier to binge and they just released unsolved mysteries which was like sixty. Yeah i need to watch that. I wanna see what they did with that same hair as well if you was not about ourselves. Will you talk to spell. B ninety student out holy healthcare downey on a normal than they needed elevated. Ville plenty unsolved mysteries. Music wants it is. It is and really is creepy..

S. practice some degree of sanctuary policy they argue that it's not the job of local police to spend money enforcing federal law and that turning people over to immigration agents makes immigrant communities less likely to cooperate with police in ongoing investigations of violent crimes like assaults and rapes there you go man. well that's a very interesting point that that that most communities to one degree or another person a bit of it may have a sanctuary policy that that's interesting it's just certainly one degree turned out to another is is for sure Austin being definitely a massive a massive participant in that in that thinking no doubt about it here's mark Morgan again I'm a lot more than concerned about this politically driven policy what the what the citizens of Chicago need to understand is this policy is going to create more victims in their city there you go there's even an effort I think is Chicago or New York the just passed an ordinance saying that you could be arrested if you call someone in a legal alien. yes I'm on yeah just a thought policeman cracking down on on words. that's that's coming because I've heard what kind of country is that I tell you what if I called you in it a legal alien I could get arrested for that if you're in certain cities yeah not in this city though I don't think so I think we got to that point yet dually noted it is eight fifty three here on the top of don show stay with us a lot of people want to weigh in on this this story about paying college athletes you know for their brand if you will yeah at the collegiate level football basketball golf tennis whatever clad whatever athlete is making money all right there this university is making money off their likeliness I get the logic I just don't like the idea I do I I understand that with the idea of the advertising and marketing business for your brand is sold well I got it in. but I'm not in the name of your business that's the thing I'm not so stay with us guys show. check on roofing is the most trusted refer in Austin Texas since nineteen seventy nine more they are amazing a plus rating from the B. O. N. E. SO an elf not could say okay flowers on very good well we'll we'll try it thank you very much thank you for all you do I listen to every week thank you giving good advice thanks a lot and again and again if you have questions give us a call one eight six six nine two zero nine four five five now we're assuming that the doctors correct correct of the diagnosis final as far as the the one on the foot I mean person probably it could be fungal it's not unusual right but could be something else we don't know so you know we're just gonna go with what the doctor said but if if you're treating it as a particular problem that you've been told this is what it is and it's not getting better utilizing what should be getting it better then sometimes you some else might be something else and you get a kind of investigate that can get into using the tea tree oil ointment consistently and not getting any better it's probably not fungal try something else what it is I don't know but they're on the nice part about using natural products in general is it time for her to if you put the tea tree oil ointment on consistently and it doesn't work doesn't hurt your doesn't hurt you here Sir it's not helping you but it's not you know it's hurting you so it may be time to make a different choice or two furthering investigate as to what it might be and that's more whatever your health issue is press and I find all too often and I hear it from a lot of different people calling on a regular basis on at our centers coming in to see us that they have a chronic problem that's been going on for years and they're taking all these different medications and it gets slightly better but then it's not and it actually gets worse so than they are on another medication and then same thing it gets slightly better but then a smile and then they're on another medication and then obviously you're really not getting to the root of what it is they're just kind of throwing things at it holding it is going to work I just want to quickly mention again if you have questions give us call one eight six six nine two zero nine four five five just want to mention some of the things about Kerr Cuman it helps reduce the number of long metastases and it helps to make again the chemotherapy agent taxol less toxic they have found that it also Cuman helps you shut down the production on an F. kappaB which is that affecting the tumor necrosis factor and so they've also found that it inhibits cancer cell growth rate they found that Kerr Cuman restores the normal act pop ptosis which is cell death makes it easier for the cancer cell to be killed off by the body or by treatment whatever treatment you happen to be doing they also found that it has been beneficial for home preventing radiation burns on people who are from radiation therapy so there's a lot of benefits and they're finding more more they just recently came out with a study showing that it would help it has a crystal in effects of crystalline type aspect of tumor growth that they didn't realize was there before so I think the more they do studies on Kirk human and the benefits as far as having anti cancer properties to it I think gay I think it's a good thing yep let's go to line one J. in Boston hi folks had a question I was taking niacin five hundred milligram dose and I feel awful I feel like a the flu I was dizzy and similar stop taking it that set of symptoms did go away so I'm thinking that that is the wrong dosage a good thing but the wrong amount what do you think is a sensible dose of nice and to take in general just for the the blood that picture that it seems to help is it typically you know typically five hundred milligrams would be find us for you obviously you're sensitive to it and now you're gonna have to do discover a if there's a good does for you at all it may be just are better off not taking niacin period will tolerate niacinamide better I like I don't mind the flush I packed I really like that slash diet what it is you're dilating the blood vessels yeah and that some of the symptoms that you're having is that you know you're over dilating the the blood vessels and so you're having a reaction to that I mean doctor Jansen looks like the next two niacin can I get all my god he turns like a beet red you'll click of your own tomato and so you know for some people it's uncomfortable and some people just can't but you might want to try the night if you he is going to reduce it down to the most minimal level and gradually work up to where you're tolerant of it or maybe try niacinamide see if you do better with that if you give me looking at it as for cholesterol levels but you know there's plenty of other things to try so yeah I took lots of Bruschi's which is loaded with dies soon water intrusion least always have so I thought that night is and was my best friend hello drop my blood pressure crazy I think I just had artificially low blood pressure and I was straight again when you dilute the blood vessels you're gonna drop the blood pressure yeah maybe just over over reacting to it are you a Wallace street to come with ace was on hold on and I'm sure that was the culprit was the only thing I changed my diet again generally speaking I would say with our patients what we usually suggest to start with a low anything anything new that you've never taken before will start with a very low dose and gradually work up to what your tolerance rather than starting with a high dose and having to work backwards yeah conservatives conservative approach sometimes it's definitely one people one person can eat a peanut and the other one swells up like a balloon so you know just the you know take it slow thanks for the call to take a quick break and again if you have questions give him and.

"I think that's cool because I think the moon was probably my favorite location from the first game lot of helium. It's true. Wizards come from right? Yeah. The says the next this is this is from the image that people pulled out at patch, the next chapter in the destiny experience arrives this fall as terrifying shadows descend upon forgotten moon, return to the lunar surface, journey into a mysterious enemy citadel become a slayer of nightmares. So on this to be a beans, which I want us to be we knew fucking data-mining mother fuckers. We're going to that actually would be great. We can put this all in one j paying the first. That would be pretty good, actually give them credit for that. They blow start the stream by blowing up the moon. Like fuckers it's got. It's got a big available for purchase today on it, which I was wondering, why would they put this in a patch that's months before this would probably come out. But that's why they'll probably be taking. Preorder mealy. Oh, yeah. Yeah. This is the first big thing they will have announced since all that vision stuff went down. Right. So. Seems like I'm trying to think women destiny to came out in twenty seventeen. Yes, for sake was the first full dig expansion last fall. Right. Presumably, this, maybe another one of those. I feel like there's a lot of post activision there's questions up in the air about what bungee does going forward? Right. Right. And you have to wonder you know, it's still destiny to there's a lot of framework that set there. So is this. I think people would look at this go like, is this going to be the true realisation of like bungee vision without activision involvement. I wonder if this is that any different was there, actually any undue influence negatively impact of the experience. And also can they realize that in destiny to or do we have to wait for a full new game Bill from the ground up to where that feels different? I would guess it hasn't been long enough since all went down. This is probably in fact, certainly in the word this is probably what they had planned for this year anyway. Yeah. Didn't they didn't? They forget their contracts stipulated the head like milestones to hit. Right. Like they had to put out, I think expansions every number of months or whatever I'm sure that, you know, the contracts that got out we're probably redone, right? As things changed with that game. I think that the bigger question to me is do they? I mean, the answer has to be no at this point. Right. Like, do they put out a third game before the new consuls come out like no no, no, no chance mill? This is probably the thing that takes them into. The next gen territory. But also. I don't think it would be there launch next year. I don't know. Maybe maybe not. I don't say. Or do they do the thing that did last time and put out versions for both consoles, gosh? Which seems pretty limiting. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would love to see top to bottom kinda rebuild everything destiny is for the new machines. And I'm sure that they would probably like to make sweeping changes point to just from a tech perspective like who knows what they're able to? To do I would fuck and kill for that thing to become something kuenz guy. We can just get in the ship manually and fly around the different planets. Sure instead of going through menus for everything and just loading into like. Kind of standard size shooter levels. Would you want? Yeah. I guess. Planet, but would you want to have to do that? Or you want that to be an option like would you want? A lot of game play to be involved in space travel. I guess my the way I look at destiny is that they've always tried to make shooter while and I just wanted to be closer to world of warcraft in terms of expiration. We're free movement kind of thing, I think would be cool, but..

"Five goals gave five goes eight Yankees, also six two and twelve and two in the playoffs in regular season after a law. So yes, they're going to Tony. They have no turn it. But to become a prop him up and stopped taking stupid penalties. Tony your best shorthanded attack. Has to be your goaltender being great. They have no choice but to put him in and he's a great story. He was like eighth on the depth chart. He's great story. But you know what? The Bruins are five and five in a row on the road in those five and the outscored the opposition, twenty two four and the blues embedded at home. They're five Laurie. Now right now, the blues are going to win tonight. Windsor night to even the series at Bennington going to be great. There you go. Jim money down put your money down here. Wait, let me get some money, get some money. Blue money's down. Let's take a break, but still to come that shows refuse to come out of the game. How does that can make more tina's look national this? So funny, should tiger feel good about the US open after his top ten finish at the memorial money I got five bucks on the Bruins tonight confidence, five bucks. Do you what do you got on the blues? I'm put a. It's male time as always all of the questions are sent in by legendary actress Angela lansbury. Let me get the first one is a little lansbury really did David Moore, tina's, Looksmart or soft for not pulling shares her when he wanted to give you most of the time on this because this is so near and dear to your heart. I'm just gonna say, I, he probably looked soft and after shares say Gaddi, then he looked smart because it turned out, okay? Because he struck out the suing batter. But you tell me what you think mister net. This is exactly what I think that David Martinez knew that he was going to go out there and max was going to tell them to turn around and go back into the dugout and scream. No, I'm not coming out and in strikeout, Joey vodka, which is exactly what happened with his one hundred twentieth pitch of the game. And then you get to Sean Doolittle opening up the ninth inning, which is what Dave Martinez wanted matches. And, you know, I think this. This is the most competitive, the best teammate, the biggest star in all sports in Washington DC. And I think this worked out very well for match. Sure. Zor and for Davey Martinez and I haven't been Dave Martinez. He knew what was going to happen. That was fine. Will on that is the sixth time in his career. He said, fifteen or more strikeouts than unbelievable. Number good. How Tiger Woods feel heading into the US open. I mean everything went well yesterday. Tony all the numbers say he another uptick physically if he feels as he looked yesterday. That's the most important factor. I mean he's got to feel pretty good, and I know going to pebble that makes them feel great. He loves Pebble Beach, but, you know, he's going to go in there with the monsters. Tony in great form. So I he's gotta be cautiously optimistic. This is this is what I want to get to what you just said. He's going in. There was some monsters. Tiger said the other day that he wants to return to more traditional US open. He wants the rough to be very, very thick. Anyone's the fairways to be narrated. Why would he want that because he sprays the driver with the reasoning want that is he? Us driver, he'll use high or he'll use any would and he'll see hill ended correctly. Whereas the Brooks is industrial Johnson's in the world, they try to overpower everything. And if they really rough really thick roughly does not work for them..

"I mean that while we'll get to. Wow. During the second Joshua was a late bloomer. But Tony Joshua's got a glass, chin, this isn't the first time he's been knocked down by somebody. You think where you can't take him out? He's been knocked down like four times. He had Joshua's. But Tony, it's not the heavyweight division is hurting because 'cause projecting forward, they need that division needs a super fight in these fight like the old days with Tyson, Holyfield, or bull. Holy it needs that. And now Deontay wilder who caused Joshua fraud and he looks like he's completely accurate that super fight Tony diminished. I think I hope it will happen. But it's boxing is in much better shape because of this because I think Andy Ruis in his own way, very charismatic. He's a Mexican American which means with the with the passion that next Americans have short game heat, and go to the west coast, he can sell out anywhere and how about this way. Chip of Mexican descent doesn't like these, I've got the auntie wilder. I've got ta. And fury. And I've got Joshua who deserves a rematch in this. I think this is very good for boxing ice. Wanna quote, if I could the great teddy atlas on this fight. He said of Ruis said he just ruined one hundred years of physical fitness, Jack his auto business. Any said Josh was like a tall building in a tall building there. Lot of windows to break and this guy broke all the windows. I don't understand why you think this is bad for boxing. This is more heavyweights people care that. X is fit fitness back on hundred years. That's sentence, alone ought to convince you, I love this guy. Love watching him fight. He's, he's four. I'm happy for him. I want to big heavyweight super fight like the old days. Tony, we really got to sleep with us from and you can build to. Now, this is so dry and kick. I hope you're the KOMO twenty five. Guys kicking each other in the mid may guys. I just hope you're right in the scenario you just painted. When we last checked, in on the Stanley Cup final Jordan bidding tin, and even the series with the Bruins in the blues at every reason to believe he could carry them to their first Cup. But then came a disastrous game three when he gave up five goals. It was yanked out to a seven to Boston victory. Now comes game four and Saint Louis has to put them right back in netface carnivorous, Bruins attack, particularly on the power play should the blues. Tony feel confident with him between the pipes. Tonight confident are you crazy? No. You just went over this, this the testing he gave up five goals. They had to yank him from that game. I know I understand creek, Baru loves them. I understand that. He plucked them off the bench and the guy's been great. I understand he's had Down's back games. This is an absolute must win for the Saint Louis blues at home, where they're not very good. And you're asking me becomes he started out the season? Let me get this straight on the CNN Tonio rampage that could be a team in that for all we know no confidence. No wrong. He six two in the play offs. Tony after a loss. So he made lose what he's also your stopper twelve and two on the season after losing. Okay. Now, I really the first thing they have to do and Saint Louis stop takings. Give a five five, what five goals gave five goes eight Yankees, also six two and twelve and two in the playoffs in regular season after a law. So yes, they're going to Tony..

"Was done was to go into the region that must contain the gene and begin to look for expressed. Meaning that the DNA was transcribed transcripts that were being read off of this part of the DNA and by taking the transcripts that came off and putting them against various organs from the OBI or the db. Mouse would look for transcripts that were specifically altered in animals that were mutant for the, gene. So you would expect you might ordinarily expect maybe the. Title of the gene that we were looking for would be very low in the organ that was affected. And again, even though we know now was adipose tissue. And there was certainly reasons to think that might be where the OB gene was when we did these experiments we actually looked at every organ in the animal brain thyroid muscle at opposed issue. Anything we could get our hands on. We dissect it out almost everything out of a mouse to look to see where the deficiency or the excess might be sometimes genes transcripts or over expressed. Although they're not functionally competent and actually at of visit to the Jackson labs when Doug Coleman. Was retiring one of the investigators. They're asked me if I would like to have we would like to have mice that appeared to have the OB mutation, but a different mouse. So the original mutation occurred. In the mouse that was identified that Jackson the early nineteen fifties. This was a new mutation that had arisen, and almost certainly wouldn't be identical to the one that had arisen earlier, but was similar FINA types, absolutely identical and fan type. So I got those mice and we took them to Rockefeller with the call them to Jay's. So the OB the first tation referred to as one Jay that's just the nomenclature and the second one was OB to Jay. And we took the OBI organs out of the one Jays and two days. And ran these transcripts against them. Using the technique cold northern blotting at the time not to be confused with western blot and not to be confused with western blotting. So northern blotting is looking actually at ARIN. A it turned out that the two Jay was extremely valuable animal because those animals didn't express any of what turned out to be the leptin. Transcript, whereas the one J's actually over expressed it, but it was functionally inadequate functionally inactive, but it the transcript was increased again for reasons having to do with molecular biology of how these systems work. But when we saw that there was one animal that had very low level and the other very high..

Which is the most horrible thing ever seen. Thing. I finally remember walking soccer movie called lady five. Rewatching that adult Riady is problematic level. What's your movie that you do? Fair question. Dressing room scene. It's bad. I've never seen it. Oh, it's like this. I mean, Rodney Dangerfield in it. That's really all you need to know. Dress up a boy to be on a girl soccer team to make them better. Oh, good. It's a whole. It's goodness right film. I mean, maybe it's not haven't watched as an adult sounds pretty bad. Love actually. Oh, yeah. I I'm not kidding. I don't like that's gonna come out wrong. There's I'm not a movie person. I like watching movies, but I've never been a person. I don't know. Maybe it's raised in house. We never owned any DVD's or or VHS we didn't own movies go to my friend's houses. Need these big stacks of movies that they owned, and I was always like have you seen them yet? And they're like, yeah. Like, why do you own them? Then I watch a multiple times. And like why would you do that? I just wasn't ever like only like I wouldn't reread a book back. Then I now I do, but I wouldn't unless likely to rewatch movie unless I felt like I didn't understand it. And I need to watch it again, understand it better. I don't know. I know that's not a desirable quality people like to be obsessed in movies. And I just wasn't love actually for some reason. I was szeswith that movie I used to watch it so many times I have seen that movie. So many times I haven't now watched it in years. But I bet I could still recite almost word for word. Then I could do every single word without trying. That's crazy. And now, I look back, and I'm like, wait is so many of the ninety storylines in this film are just terrible. It's like you could just put one storyline in the movie and develop it like actual humans instead of being like all these caricatures of people are experiencing the holidays. It's like, yeah. But you didn't act. None of those story lines are realistic. I do love to kids phone in love. I think that's a door. -able? I do love the the who is at the plays the older woman who catches her husband cheating on him and cries to chill. No. It's the other one J J other woman, Emma, Thompson Thompson when she's like Joni Mitchell taught me to cry. Now, I cut that line wrong. That's not what it is. But it's whatever. Taught me how to feel. Let's whatever she's great that storyline isn't like dumb. But the rest of them like. And. Is a little weird, and they don't make any sense. And I really even when I liked it back, then I'm like, I don't need this weird porn stand in storyline. Really don't it's really not necessary. So that's the movie mine's. The newsies has never seen a news. These I loved it growing up sang all the songs. It was great randomly maybe like four or five years ago. "Irwin. He's a young guy, and I guess I expected to hear that when he got a chance to get out there, he'd be totally ready to jump into the mix. I'll say is the first time I went out, I was good. When when did you go out? I went out a couple of years ago for shoulder X Ray and we was in a party, but so it was cool. It was like, you know, it was cool. It was open space, but the second time I win. They took me in like a little van and it was like a tuna canned inside of tuna and it was like a can inside of a van. What do you mean? You're like I was in a cage so it was like kind of class to fold. So when we was going over the bridge, I couldn't think past if this guy crash. They don't save me in the back. It's too many keys. If he crashed and go over the bridge and into the water. I mean this this preservation of self soon because that's a lot to get to me. That's you bring up a really good point because I try over that bridge every time I come here. I never think about what's going to happen if my car goes off the bridge. So you not in a tuna canned inside of a can and handcuffed? Yeah, no, no. That's a really good example. Only thing I thought about God. Okay. So let's go back to add non. He just opened the door to the visiting room. Yeah. And usually is so chaotic you have to look for your visitor, whereas WALDO. Adnan after ten years, his mom was right there on the other side of the dough weight. Her hair was done nice. She still looked youthful and her face was light. Light skin did, and that's something like my family. My mom was like, always the lighters one that light light skin. So that's one of the first thing I noticed her face was bright. It stood out her skin stood out and and she just mild. And when she smiled I came up to her, I kind of gave her a side hug, but she grabbing with both arms and and they hug was uncomfortable for me. 'cause I filter squeezing me more and she didn't want to kinda let go. And I'm trying to pry her off of me but be respectful at the same time. So I kind of hugger with one side of my body one arm. And when she tightens up a little bit, I kind of pulled back and I'm trying to buy her off me and then I'll go sit down, go sit down and there wasn't. There was literally not a seat available except for kids section. So we said. It down in the kids section and it just felt very weird to me to watch little kids and the kids section playing with toys with their mother. In here. I am a grown man, thirty years old with his mom. We started off with a lot of small talk how you doing. How're you doing? Everything's good. I'm up to this. I'm doing this Kip looking at the clock. I have several hours to do data the over. I wish my sister was there or somebody else was here where I could deviate my attention, but it was just me and my mom. So I sit here with her and I'm having this conversation about stuff that isn't mean anything. When we both know this is there's this huge elephant in the room. Then neither of us are dressing. That elephant in the room. It's a big one. It's how Adnan grew up and you could say, it's what led to his incarceration Ed. None have family problems from very young age. Basically, his mom and dad divorced when he was eight. His step-dad didn't like him. And when he was sixteen his mom left to state and non to be with another man. So by seventeen, he was homeless and living on the streets of Pittsburg California or with friends who sometimes took him in. So one day weta friend's house and we're smoking. We were getting high watching eight mile Eminem. There are about four guys hanging out, and one of them makes the suggestion. He's, he looked over friend and he's he's a square meaning that he's not gonna hurt anybody. He doesn't care you web as going to have a gun. Look, he has a thousand dollars worth of marijuana. All you gotta do is take it getting a car and drive off. There wasn't a thought I was like, yeah. Things didn't go as planned. The guy with the weed ended up getting killed by Adnan's partner. Adnan says, his partner stabbed him to death with living on the streets to be in a juvenile lifer, serving twenty five years to life for robbery, murder. I love ice cream. Ice cream is very rare prison. You only get it once a month if you go to canteen. So one thing I knew I was confident about to go in there. I'm gonna have a damn Snickers ice cream. I don't care how much my mom's crying or what the elephant is doing in the room. Matter of fact, the elephant wants ice cream. He could get one too, but I'm gonna get me Snickers ice cream soda orange juice, and then I'm Mosey my way over to the ice cream machine and told my mom. Take one of these. She puts in the two dollars and then presses the number. Whatever that was E to whatever it was rice on waiting for it to come out. The little swirly thing that holds the ice cream in place inside the machine. I'm watching the go around and around then stops. I'm like, oh, I got stuck. And as soon that say that screen pushes or something behind it pushes a little ice cream at tumbles over falls down. And then my mom tells me grab the ice cream and I'm not sure about the rules if I'm allowed to do it or not. So I told her, I don't think I can grab it. And she said, why not? I feel bad or guilty because I didn't want her to know that what type of rules I'm subjected to as a prisoner, like standing behind the yellow line can't go over here. We can't touch for her to see me in a situation like that. I felt even worse so anyways, so she grabs ice cream. She buys another one. We sit down back in the kids section. So here I am with my mommy eaten a Snickers ice cream. And it had that. So I took a lot of weight off my shoulders. I don't know if it was because I, I haven't had Snickers ice cream in a long time or because it was something else to talk about and she kept looking at me like like enjoying, yeah, yeah, my son's enjoying, I've sensed my son's enjoying ice cream. What it feel good for the first time I felt relaxed in the visit. Hainault
