Sam Darnold's Time Is Coming

"I'm gonna start with arguably my most controversial take of the day sam darnold. What's the heartache. And if he is he gonna go sir. Not darnold in slinging. Sam darnold three year career. He's never finished inside of the top. Twenty five at the quarterback position. He's also never thrown for over thirty one hundred yards or twenty touchdowns in a year his career completion percentage sits at fifty nine percent in addition if we look at last year specifically. It's his worst year of his career. Twenty two hundred yards through the air nine touchdowns and eleven interceptions in twelve games. If your take is that sam darnold is bad like you. Just prove that. He's bad like. I don't know where you're going with this but darnold is bad. You're trying to say is gonna finish outside of qb. Thirty two sam darnold careers. Been absolutely terrible. Nobody is going to argue that including myself. It would be pretty easy for somebody to up his career as of bust in move on and in fact. Almost everybody is already done that rightfully so sam. I am one of the few people that still truly believes in you. I'm here to tell you why showtime darnold is going to finish the season as a top twelve quarterback showtime where nicknames coming from you top twelve top twelve quarterback darnold the prospect in darnold product have been polar opposite so far. But let's remember that he was a number three overall pick in the two thousand eighteen draft. He went ahead of josh allen and lamar jackson. The reason he was drafted ahead of them is because scouts were drooling over his size his arm strength and his playmaking ability on the day of the two thousand eighteen draft dane brugge a well-known senior analyst for nfl draft scout listed darnold as the clear number one quarterback in the draft. Obviously that hasn't been the case but the point that i'm trying to make is a talent was there and i know space jam to just came out and unless the monster stolas talents. I'm confident in saying that. Those talents are still in that

Her father thomas drac managed pub in town while her mother. Mary took care of fanny and her siblings. Fanny was not a natural swimmer. Her when she was nine years old fannies family went on vacation in the beachside town of coochie australia. While in the ocean. Fanny found herself fighting against the waves and struggling to get comfortable in the water instead of retreating and fear or discomfort vani made it her mission to teach yourself how to swim and she did that. Fannie trained in and mastered the breaststroke at the time that was the only style of swimming that had a championship for women when she was seventeen years old. She won her first state title as her abilities progressed. Fanny learned the trojan stroke and the australian crawl with these three styles. In her skill set she dominated the australian swimming seen her main. Competition was me no wiley. Nina beat fanny a few different events including the one hundred yard breaststroke at the australian swimming championships at rose. Bay as the nineteen twelve. Stockholm olympic games approached. There was discussion. About whether fanny and meena should attend the new south wales ladies amateur. Swimming association had a rule that forbade women to compete in arenas where men were present. The association believed it was immodest for a woman to be so scantily clad and the presence of men but fanny and meena's widespread success created enough public pressure. The association overturned the rule. Getting to the games was another hurdle. These were the first olympic games where women were allowed to compete in swimming.

Los Angeles Rams Hold Off Brady, Bucs Behind Goff’s 3 TDs

"Okay skip. We're going to get through this today. Let's talk about what we saw last night. The rams did beat the buccaneers last night. Twenty seven twenty four despite rushing for less than two yards per carry jared goff picked apart tampa secondary for three hundred seventy six yards and three touchdowns including over one hundred yards to both robert woods and cooper kupp. Meanwhile tom brady finished with two hundred sixteen passing yards on season low five yards per attempt and also threw two interceptions including one on the bucks. Final drive when they had a chance to tie or take the lead the game the forty three year old quarterback brady his third loss in prime time. This season shannon. How much was tom brady to blame last night. A lot of the half out of ten. Don't put this in primetime. Tom brady played more prime time games. Nine super bowl is that prime time thirteen. Afc championship game. Is that prime time. All the playoff game. Don't put that in prime time. Tom brady have played bad. It's as simple as their tom. Brady has not been good. This year needs played here. Well he played good if he hasn't put a game together No our young watched game at carolina just a week ago. Like virtuoso masterpiece when comprehend. Please just let me have my moment. just let me by moment. Twenty two incompletions. Wow if that good you thought about forty eight times you have slightly more than two hundred sixteen to one dollars that good. Goodbye it now. This what we hear brady was inaccurate all night last night on deep balls. Oh for six with two interceptions on throws twenty yards downfield skip bayless and pro football focus. Se tom brady's doing great during the ball down the field the last four gave. He's one for twenty. Throw twenty yards down the field with three interceptions. Now here the stat that somebody. I don't know who came up with this. That they call it a. He leaves the league you this. Tom brady leads. The league in a twenty yard throws sixty me lead to leave but he's twenty. Seven and completion percentage four and affection which third most. What was the final score. Time killed. kim. I will let you have. It was sixty five to nothing more. If i'm not janey why. What did i predict the finals. Go be laughing yesterday. you have no idea. I don't remember shad have really did better. Staleness only got one pro. Football focus also came all stay at near distance. It doesn't matter if the ball is complete or incomplete. Otto completion matter. It doesn't matter because don because you've been telling me all he does is drink and done his backs. Skip good if i thought about georgia. Being the hall of fame. Completions didn't battle. All i was only refuting your point. He's just a dink dunker now. That's what said he's got no arm. He's a noodle arm spaghetti white house. Completion percentage down the field who leads the whole. Nfl in air distance. And i think he just pulled away. Last night beth as consequential stat you saw him throwing the ball down the field lighting and dunk last night when he didn't think and how do look when did he deacon dunk. I think conductor for net three times that he dropped all three of them note that he had antonio brown hair thirteen target eight catches for fifty seven yards seven point one of material. He had ten targets. The chris with seven yards seven catches for fifty three yards. Dak seven point six. He had one receiver that had a double digit average own completion. You he deacon and dunkin what was the final score deferrals court with tom brady lost and the rams one. That's what jared goff. First of all jerry gulf in charm paid like the gave this thing away because they got ultra conservative and they got careless the football but somebody makes go but scale you look off last night. There's no way around it. I don't want to hear anything about the defense. Because i told you everybody based everything because if you wash tampa bay everybody wanted to annoy them after. They did with green bay. And i'll say if you watch that defense. I say the into who said i didn't get to us. They can be hey. I think they're very undisciplined. I out of position a lot more. You think but because that pass rush covers up but they don't get home they can be had. Whoa that they're coming. They could be had skilled. Tom brady he got happy feet. Another one get here and they gotta run. They really do a whole lot but they got around him a little bit and he had had like polka polka. Like do the poco.

"No, we came here. So and I understand in the context of of what they did on Thursday. And then what we said the hey it works. Maybe that left some people wanting to know more, I will say, I'm really proud of the fact that we're here at three with I'll say are most discerning customers, putting their hands on it, and trying it and then writing what they think, and I think what you say about it's way more valuable than what some guy that works at the company's going to say about it. Yeah. I think that's you know, there's, there's like stages of, of belief with this, right? There's the watch the presentation and go like, oh, that would be really cool, if it worked yet, there's trying it in, you know, not your home environment. That's right. It's, it's the, you know, the trying it on the show floor. And either, that's in some ways that sub optimal for what you're trying to show. But also, it's hard to know. Like is there smoking mirrors is, is this didn't you know we asked I asked where the data centers were and they said it was up in the bay area. I wanted to make sure oh, you know, the data center isn't sitting over at Staples Center, which is like one hundred yards from Microsoft theater. I wanted people to know that this could somewhat map to your home environment. There was some differences and you probably saw this. We were wiring the controllers into the phone for USB because bluetooth with all of those devices and stuff was kind of a nightmare, but we could we could take it out, and it's definitely true that a short USB connection from phone to controller is faster than bluetooth. There's no doubt about that. But that was the only connection that I wanted to put in there. The thing though, I think maybe a difference for us with X cloud. Careful. I say this, I'm not trying to tell people to stop playing console games or stop playing games or even to buy a second copy of the game. So you can play it somewhere else. What I'm saying is I like playing on XBox live. And when I'm away from my console or my PC, I wanna continue to play my games. And this is a convenience feature. A choice feature for you. I'm not saying I'm going to be, you know, aka one twenty Hertz to the phone or something, I'm not this is about I want an experience on my phone that will go with me. And I think cloud technology has the capability over years to create a really compelling experience in the home on a large screen the best way for you to go place. I respond for you to go play any of the games that were shown here for years is going to be dedicated hardware in your home with local storage of those things, right..

"I'm not the best at it. I was on this team my sophomore year of high school. I was the worst one on the team. Like, I'm not being polite or whatever it's just I was the worst person on that team. You're just being objective about it. Yeah. It was it was awful. But I had fun. And I feel I feel like that's the thing. Like, you were probably still pretty good at swimming. It's just that the people who are on the swim team or the, you know, people who do swimming. So it's probably that you were the one who was like I want to try swimming out. And then you didn't go very well. I do think I'm a decent soccer player though. That's something. I'm like, okay. I got that. Well, you know, I I think tennis is kind of a similar sport. I used to play tennis a lot. And that was something I was actually pretty good at. Kinda the only is really good at. But it's it's just one of the because I think for me, I love endurance. Like, that's the stuff. I can do like like run it like if you ask me to sprint like one hundred yards. Like, I'm not going to do very, well, you know, probably the same was swimming for me like I wouldn't do very well in that. But if you asked me to like run three miles like I can do that. Because I have the patience for that. Is that because I know you do a lot of like you did the like you've done the tough mudder. Yeah thing and like so is that something. That you find about yourself that you're more into like endurance type sports than you are into like, fast paced stuff. I guess what? I'm most interested in sports is something that will just keep me entertained in excited. I it's really easy for me to get bored or to get discouraged, especially with like sports like softball. I'm not a very good catcher. I could throw a decent. You know?.

"He is Eric Harley and I'm Gary McNamara. Thanks so much for being here. This morning. Did you watch the new football league? Nope. Lines of American football. Nope. Nope. I watched the San Antonio. Commanders at one point somebody in the broadcast. Call them the commandos. Well, the commandos look the commanders. San Antonio commanders against the the San Diego fleet. May played at the Alamodome in San in San Antonio. Right. Yeah. And I mean, they yards is the field. Do they do this the NFL one hundred one hundred yard field? Yes. It's not Canadian football. It's hundred yard field. Right. But it's not arena football either. No, no, it's plays planning on a regular field. And and no kickoff. So which I realize I understand if there's one thing I and I will say this that they just they they start the game. They just put the ball on the twenty yard line. The team starts and I realize I understand the concern about head injuries. And I know that the whole debate about no kickoffs. And I realized how important and what kind of excitement a kickoff adds to a football game at the beginning of the game. Maybe not in the second half. And maybe not after every touchdown. But you realize because there was a dullness to the game that you started off the game. Not with the kickoff. But just giving the ball on the twenty yard line in the team run an offense a plane. There's something about the patient of both teams lined up at least to me. There isn't unbolt teams lined up. Starting a game the roar of the crowd. Now one thing that I will say, and this really goes along with what you and I talked about when and we mentioned it even last hour. We mentioned it when the Republicans in in two thousand twelve and two thousand sixteen were running again. And this is you know, how how to set off a campaign that you know, we talked about Corey Booker and how he did it compared for example to Elizabeth Warren who had. Know, how many people there, but it seemed like there were a lot of people that were cheering, and we first were criticize him back in two thousand twelve in two thousand sixteen many of the Republicans were running that would announce on a street corner with five people it seemed like like, what are you doing? Now, you need to you need a crowd there you need to make it an event and. Same thing with football. Now one thing they did at the Alamo dome. Is they kept all the lights off in the upper decks. So you really couldn't see the upper deck from television. You couldn't see empty seats. Now. I don't know if they had covers over it. Or were they just turn the lights down completely? So it was completely blacked out. But you really didn't notice the fact that the entire upper deck was completely empty, right? And so they moved all the fans down to the lower bowl. And it looked like it was a crowded football game. And it sounded like it was a crowded football game. And I started laughing because I remember, and I was thinking about this as I was listening to a couple of college football game or a college basketball games over the weekend. Right. Listen to a couple of them online teams that I that. I like, and I used to produce college basketball games is to be an executive producer of college football the station. I worked for did it, and I was always. Very keen. If there was only going to be, you know, and these teams, you know, they they weren't drawing eighteen thousand twenty thousand people to a game that might draw three thousand sometimes it might only draw two thousand or fifteen hundred. But I always wanted it to sound real big. I said you gotta make fifteen hundred people sound like on the radio if you want to give maximum. If you want to give maximum imagery to your sponsors that are going to carry it you need to make it sound like there's a ton of people there, even if there's not sure and so I was always huge on microphone placement. So one of the things I was most proud of and actually have some tapes at home. Of some of the college basketball games said that I I actually produced and had the microphones in the right areas. So I made fifteen hundred people sound like it was seven eight thousand people it's not like a pack huge arena. And they did the same there. They have whatever they did. However, they placed the microphones there around thirty thousand people there, it sounded like there were seventy thousand people it's not like it was an and so they did a they did a good job at it. Now. The the the interesting thing is the alliance of American football. The actual game. Did better ratings than the NBA game. That was on ABC. They beat the NBA. The only thing is will it last probably not curiosity pretty much leads. And and that's then you've got to build the following the allegiance for those teams San Antonio doesn't have an NFL team. But is there enough support? Or would they be excited enough? If it's not an NFL because in San Antonio, it's split between the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys, and you have this isn't the WWE doing it. This is the you know, this is Bill Polian. What's his name dig, upper souls son is involved in it? Now, he was partly involved in the WWE one last time. I believe her father was in. What was that called the XFL, by the way, I wonder if he hate me would be would that whether that would be a lot in a players back today. Just I thought about that over the weekend. Remember that? There was one thing that came out of the XFL. We all remember the player. He hate me on the back of his jersey. But it's it's clearly it's clearly minor league football. It was sloppy. I mean, it was it was it was sloppily played the the San Diego fleet while I'll tell you they. Fleet. Couldn't get too far because the offensive line was as could possibly be. But the its Bill Polian who is really the executive of the entire league. And Daryl Johnston is the is the general manager of the San Antonio team. So they brought in a lot of football people. And they made it clear they said where do you want to be five years from now they said we wanna be the feeder league to the NFL they want to be like a AAA football. And because you remember unite asked the question, what is the business model? What is your business model? What what do you wish to do and many in the AFL early on in the American football league? But then a couple of years they knew they had to compete with the NFL, and they competed with the NFL while the the the this team doesn't earn this league doesn't wish to compete with the NFL. They want to compliment them. Which is they wanted eventually where the, you know, the practice squad players, whatever that they can be a feeder and have a relationship with the NFL or they're like the minor league team where you can get you know, you can get players even though they play different times of the year. And who knows maybe someday they won't maybe some time. They'll play at the same time only be viewed as a minor league, you know, to the the NFL, but they don't plan on competing with the NFL. They wished to be the feeder league and provide players to them and have some kind of official relationship with the NFL. That's what they said. They would look for in the next five years, and yeah, that would probably be that would be if that's your business model than I could understand it your. You're not going to pay the players incredible salaries. It's very limited. What the league plays pays? I think the top contracts or I think they all they all get incentives. I think they'll make the same. Now, they said two hundred and fifty thousand three year contracts. I couldn't figure out whether the that was two hundred fifty thousand a year or two hundred and fifty thousand for three years. I couldn't tell I couldn't figure out what it was. So from what I know they don't even plan and having the type of salary caps that the Canadian Football League has so they're viewing themselves in a minor league. So if they view themselves in a minor league they're gonna end up getting minor league rating. So it's just the reality. And they made that clear because they did like an hour. Pre-game was game was gonna start when I turned it on like at eight o'clock didn't start to like fifty minutes later. The whole thing was telling everybody what the league's about him bringing everybody on and talking to all the executives, and it's like, okay. You just spend spend almost an hour. Prime time. Telling America, we want to be a triple A like the triple eight teams are the minor league baseball. We basically want to be a minor league football league. You just took an hour prime time on a Saturday night. I want if you do it. It's going to be on a Saturday night of CBS to tell America you're going to be a minor league. I'm like, okay. Aside from CBS are there any other television contracts? Now, just it'll CBS what is it there? Sports network, the CBS sports network that they have and it's going to be their only gonna show they're showing this. They showed the initial game on CBS. I don't know how many games are actually going to be on CBS. I think it's going to be mostly on their cable channels. Right. I think I hear TNT or one of those also going to carry some games. But you know, it's not a huge contract with them. No. They you know, they did their best to promote it, but it's minor league football. And now, the interesting thing is okay. Where does the WWE league fit in next year? I don't know. Yeah. And the then how do you attract and keep talent? Because if they're young, and they're they have ears ahead of them. And they're good enough to play there. Then eventually are. They is that were their talent caps out. Do they never go onto the NFL on if they do how do you replace many of them will not go on many of them will not wanted the NFL only a few of them will it's minor league football for teams at for cities. That may not have it. And it said let let's be honest. I mean, they only had one practice game. But I think by the end of the year. Look, these are all these are all people that are just below the NFL, which means there is good or even better than most college teams that are playing football today. They've got as much talent as any pro. Well, maybe except for Clemson member. We used to say Alabama up until about the go mothers. You know, they they probably errors as good as any the any top level college football team if they get enough practice eight one practice game before they started the league. So they really didn't practice, but it would be top notch. College football is what you'd be getting. And so, you know, and and for a minor, you know, a city that doesn't have football. If the tickets are cheap, but the tickets don't become expensive. If they don't attempt it can compete with the NFL. It might have limited success. I still think you're gonna see franchises moving around the around the country. Because again, it's it's not the same as baseball baseball. You can have you know, baseball is in. You know, a smaller stadiums are only pulling in they can pull in, you know, five six thousand and night and and succeed in doing it for minor league baseball. You can't succeed really probably a football at that. You know? Only pulling in that kind of you know, I guess fans to the stadium as to the TV ratings expect them to drop. Guess I wouldn't expect it to be a you know, that's going to be one of those. It's great to go. See it live. It's fun to go. See it live expect a lot of promotions around those games locally. But outside of that once I think we get past especially if they're not going to be playing during the NFL season. It's once you get past the Super Bowl, I think most people have kind of in the television audience have moved on except maybe locally again where you start to build that small fan base. Yeah. At least I think their business model is realistic. And that's we wish to be a minor league. You know, we're not trying to compete with the with the NFL as previous leagues did. Right. And after the American football league, nobody was successful at doing that. Right. Now US wasn't the world. Football league wasn't only the American football league. And so I always wondered what was her business bottle, and they made it clear, and so I I don't know it at least it has a chance because they know what their limitations are. So there you go. But it was interesting to watch. I didn't stay up for the whole game only stayed up for like, not even the first half. I was asleep early Saturday night. But I did watch. I did watch about a quarter and a half of it was like, okay, it was. And then I saw some film afterwards film, some video video DVR ING afterwards and some digital afterwards. And it got to be sloppy. Yeah. But all interesting, all right. Eight six six ninety redeye. Tips from JJ Keller and associates Inc. On driver wellness. Establishing a regular exercise routine is nearly impossible when spending days and nights away from home finding enough room and enough time to exercise while off duty on the road is tough. But a little creativity can produce some results for your efforts. When taking a break take a longer walk outside before returning to your cab. "Okay. This year. We had the sixth and seventh time that receiver duos each each had one hundred yards receiving this is the first time ever the NFL that there was two in the same season. We know one one of them is Abe and Jewish who was the other one. But did he say one hundred receptions thousand yards a hundred perceptions? Wait Rams now I'm thinking Vikings. Feeling and digs it if he Lynn index. Ding, ding, ding. I didn't do that. Digs. They they actually tied Abyan juju do a wise for the number of receptions, two hundred and fifteen each now, they were not as they were. They were also the only other do oh that was targeted over three hundred times. Abyan juju was the most three thirty four and they were next at three. Oh, two. So that was that was pretty good now as we're looking at duos, let's do this one. There's a different duo that is tied with Abyan juju for the number of touchdowns this season twenty two it has also the only it has also the same duo that had more than a b and ju ju and it's not digs and feeling. You mean this season in the NFL? The only other they had more yards in Abyan juju. And they also say they were tied for touchdowns. I've got to on my mind. I'll let you go. First Jeff are year, not counting running back here. You know? Okay. I'm I'm not including running backs. But I'm not saying that's only receivers there's rent. There's your tight ends. Okay. I've got ahead. Ryan tyreek hill. Travis kelsey. There you go ding, ding, ding to go. They were going to tyreek hill and Sammy Watkins. But I didn't believe that. When you said tight end, I took Kelsey. Yeah. Well, Sammy Watkins missed a lot of time. Yep. Yep. So let let's go back to Steelers stuff. Okay. Out of all the wide receivers on the Steelers. We'll go talk about this who had the least number of receptions, and how many was Darius Hayward bay? That is correct now made sad. Well on to no one. One reception wonder -ception nine yards. Looking was that that was a little swing route. I don't know. I I if I thought about a heart. No. Okay. Is that it or do you get? This is kind of a follow up to that one on one catch onto targets. He that means he had a fifty percent catch rates. There were two Steeler wide receivers who had lower catch rates. Antonio Brown's definitely one of them. And and Tokyo Brown actually had a sixty one percent catch rate. There was a point. He was like forty eight. Yes, he got better as a season went on. It was. Enderle receivers that had worse. Yes present. And do you have a minimum targets for this PHP had two targets the Ellen Rogers? The highest James Washington. Jan is Washington was lower. He had forty two percent. Forty Justice one. Gotta be Justin hunter and Justin hunter had twenty three point one percent. Twenty three three hundred percent. We'll talk about this later, but he played his way out of town. Yeah. You mean Ben through his show? Murder. Yes. The Lord of Ben Rothlisberger in his in his condo. Us up with that. I figured that was more than enough for you guys. Good a good trivia, I like this segment. I like it earlier in the show, but I liked this idea too. So Brian did you wanna comment on anything before we move on? Ready to talk about slinging the pig in catching it. Receiver. That is what we're talking about. We are going to dive into the depth chart of the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver core in the way that I described this article on YouTube for those that are watching live is there was a time when the Pittsburgh Steelers not only were considered a wide receiver factory. But we're so loaded at the position. Can we really say that now let's take a look at it. Because Antonio Brown is number one. But we have no idea if he'll be back everyone's trying to leave the door open. And yet everyone else is trying to slam shut as every talking head is talking at the Super Bowl, and everyone that says they know Antonio Brown. Well is speaking for him. And so it's just a mess. And you can't listen to everything that you hear whether it's a current player..

"And that's everything we know about it is just based on its teeth. Okay. Okay. What did he an standard? Great white is about twenty tw-. Okay. Okay. Those are the biggest sharks great white sharks. Toothy ones whale sharks right up to thirty feet long. But the plankton basking shark same thing. Okay. Got it. What about these sharks? The Waco is up with Mako. They maybe ten eleven feet. Okay. That's a big Mako though. Yeah. It's a really big. Is there any validity to the shark brain being advanced like is it smarter than most things in the ocean? Is it compares to human brain? How does that work? So they have very large brains. Okay. So their brains are big relative to their body size, and they're bigger than some birds mammals. Okay. If you if you know, my dogs than you might go. Yeah. That makes sense. We did. I agree with that. Pretty much. But but the a lot of that brain is dedicated to interpreting sensory information, so for example, a huge part of their brain is dedicated to interpreting odor's in the water. So so, but the part of the brain responsible for deep thinking and writing worn piece is small so, you know, that's why their brain to body size is really large because they're very well adapted for sensing things in their environment. Okay. But you know, they're not they can learn very quickly. Okay. Like most animals can. And again, that's an advantage. Right. So the quicker you learned that eating a seal means, you get a huge, it's like eating confound big Macs. You know, that's a good thing to do biting a submarine is not a good thing to do. You lose teeth. You get no calories back. Yeah. So those are the sorts things that they learn very quickly from I would not put them in the highly intelligent category. Parrot in the movie was by far one of the more intelligent creatures in the movie. Okay. So not. Enough. Yeah. Yeah. This is a side note. But said that he only named it bird. I was like. Yeah. Deep relationship with this as Chinese risking his life right for the birds. Give it a name. Yeah. You have an insane. May maybe get one. Junior at least something so wait you're saying that that a lot of their brain is for interpreting signals odors. So the the blood thing is like a huge myth. That's probably like every shark movie. So how far does it have to be? How quickly can sense it? There's a scene towards the end of this movie where she jumps in and she's like pretty far and almost immediately the shark. Doc. So how's the what's that that that isn't terribly accurate? So what you have to understand is imagine you have a drop of blood, and you put that into a pool of water, and you are able to watch it disperse over time. So what you're able to do is count all those molecules as they spread out. And of course, what happens is if the currents going this way, then you get a concentration of that in disperses to the sides. And if you go up current, you can't detect it at all, right? So, but the whole point is is they can detect very few molecules in a very small amount of water. Okay. That's the sensitivity part. So their brain actually is very large. So that they can grab those few molecules and send a signal the brain saying, I think I smell something that smells like blood. So that's the part that it becomes very hard to come up with a relatable explanation to the general public. Concentration right in the movie that was kind of BS, right? Doesn't happen magically like that. They would have to be a strong current going in that direction. Okay. So okay. So if you're bleeding, and you're in the ocean, and there's sharks nearby like how close you see what I'm asking. What is the concernable distance range? You know, it could be anywhere from one hundred yards. You know, if you're in the water for a long period of time, and you're bleeding for a long period of time. Yes. That could be a half mile or something like that. But you know, you think southern California we've got some of the most populated beaches in the world there little kids out there with skinned up knees. Every single day they're putting all sorts of blood into the water and yet charter swimming around him. They just don't care. So there's two things that we have to remember one is not all plugged smells the same..

"Yeah. You know what? And I've already bought a third Laura. I'm trying to think of what to do with. Oh. Yeah. Go ahead. Oh, I'm sorry. No just gonna say the other thing is I've been a traditionalist. I was big into guns back in the eighties nearly nineties before optics. I've been kind of antibiotics but bought for one of the rifle I bought a reflect site a kind of playing around with it. I gotta say that is really cool. I'm now starting to really see the love of optics. It is interesting for those of us who most of us grew up started off with iron sights, and you go. Yeah. Yeah. I really don't need that. And then you start using them. And I'm with you. I think our reflects basically has zero magnification red dot type site. On and they are people. How far can you see Dory about it? Just put it on there. Go have fun. It makes it so easy to shoot. It's. Thing in the world Donald target bullet goes to the target. It's easy. What's it's faster? And it's. It's so intuitive just makes it increases the shooting experience. I think. Exactly, am I old is as you were talking about the show earlier today. My old is need help. Now. Well, it's true and especially with handguns, but certainly with long guns as well. You just can do it better. And I will tell you you may want to explore. For your next. A are. You may want to build one up with a plan of putting a scope and actual maybe a low power variable a one to five to six kind of variable on there and on low power, you keep both eyes open shoot a kind of like a red dot sight. And then you have the ability to crank it up when you want to shoot either farther, or if you just worn a shoot for precision, even at one hundred yards of tried to shoot small groups. That's where the scope really comes in. I may end up trying that. Suggest for your next one. Have you considered going to a three hundred blackout? I have.

"Bad guy. Right. Is there? Anything comes to mind that can be done in terms of helping to train police officers that are just going into a situation that not everyone with a gun is a bad guy. You know? In fact, I've been writing about that lately we've been having pretty spirited discussion about that within a community. And I think within the realize about that is you know, the police on Anakra alive. But unfortunately, we've had a couple of late highlighted the fact that unfortunately, people make. Under stress sometimes. So I think one of the things that we can really do that would help increase opportunity for the public and their please. Spend time around each other because you know, police officer. And then. Let me spend much time around walkway on citizens the people that you've seen with guns or criminal so increasingly opportunity for joint training on for just opportunity student who could work around each other, very helpful into kind of Clinton. Underscore the need around. Recently, somebody throughout an idea that I I I reject it. And then what I thought about actually I think that makes some sense. And that is if you get into an individual to get to a self defense shooting somewhere are shooting of any sort. And you know, the police responding we used to say we'll stay there. You don't leave the scene, but that was kinda pre cell phones. And the idea was thrown out that maybe you ought to leave the area get away from the scene. Maybe it's one hundred yards away. Whatever call nine one one stay on the phone with them identify yourself in the place, you up say like around the corner over here. I want to come in. But I don't want to get shot. Is there some to that? Obviously, those types of decisions are on the circumstances that exist for your particular situation. There may be crimes. This is not for you to rename the Heim. And so it is a better idea for you. Somewhere where you are. Make a report other times,.

"The police arrive, and they know how to respond when the police arrive so that they for that guy. Right. Is there anything that comes to mind that can be done in terms of helping to train police officers that are just going into a situation that not everyone with a gun is a bad guy. Yes. In fact, I've been writing about that lately on one and we've been having pretty spirited discussion about that with an. I think within the realize about that is. You know, the police on citizens are natural allies. But unfortunately, we've had a couple of late highlighted the fact that unfortunately, people make. Under stress sometimes. So I think one of the things that we can really do that would help increase opportunity for the public. Please. Spend time around each other. Because you know, police officer. You spend much walkway on citizens, but people with guns. Police officers are criminal so increasingly opportunity for joint training on four just opportunity to work around each other with very helpful and kind of coming to an understanding academy around each other. Recent somebody throughout an idea that I first I rejected and then what I thought about. Well, actually, that's I think I make some sense. And that is if you get into an individual it to a self defense shooting somewhere are shooting of any sort. And you know, the piece responding we used to say we'll stay there. Obviously those decisions are dependent upon the circumstances for your particular situation. There may be times when it's not for you to remain behind. And so there's a better idea for you to leave that go somewhere where you are could be court other times, it may be more beneficial for you because we we do have that kind of culture if not in the law that quite equal guilt. That's something that we have to protect as well. So obviously, the the onset of. Judgment, call based on the circumstance. Hard to say what's rider with Ron time. But that's a curtain of be an option for him. If he feels that the circumstance warranted..

"Seuss, traffic and weather station. Welcome back to the Mark blazer show Dimitrius Stanley in the studio, of course, Joseph on board as well. So we were talking a little bit about Justin fields who is transferring to Ohio State out of Georgia. So this'll be interesting how moving forward as a, and we're not gonna hear probably much between now and well the summer probably I'm guessing when everything gets underway once they start conditioning and all that good stuff. But I I kind of looked up real quick just to kind of see what he is. Right. Looks like he is going to be pretty similar in style to Tate Martell as far as passing and a Russia. It looks like he was the only quarterback since Quincy Carter versus Kentucky to rush for one hundred yards a game. So it sounds like the kids going to be a runner, but you you're going to now have two of the same type of player. So that'll be interesting to see how that battle works out. Because it's not like you have a Haskins who's a gunslinger and then Tate Martell for different packages. Right. That's gonna be interesting in it self. Yeah. Well, interesting the other thing I wanted to. Speaking of Dwayne Haskins. And we said, you know, he's probably gonna go ahead and go there they're predicting him. Now sixth overall in the first round. You don't think he'll go? No. I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about him get out of. I was like, oh, you think I'm wrong. No, I was reading that. Obviously could end up, you know, at the giants. He goes a little bit early. I don't know. I mean, do you think is six is that problem is that a probability here? Here's my thing with quarterbacks because quarterbacks are usually the highest paid on the team as a as a team. That's in the first five picks. I'm not going to go with a quarterback because that is always a tough go. You know, I'm probably going to go with the defensive linemen or maybe an offensive lineman or possible linebacker in my first early rounds because when it comes to quarterbacks man that that's your flipping the coin on that. And hoping for the best, and I would say sixth would be early for. I think and if he can go six then that's a possibility. Definitely put your helmet on put your cleats on and ride out and get out of Columbus. I'll be happy for did. You hear that? If you're like the first quarterback, you get a ten million dollar to go in the is the have you heard island? I heard that there's like some sort of. Automatic signing bonus or whatever. And I guess he heard that kid from Oregon who may ahead of. Yeah. Dead. So so now, he's probably like sign me up me up. I'm out mill go for it. I heard from the best, and I hope I hope everything works out for him. But going to the NFL as a quarterback as the first quarterback picked who and some pressure. Well, that's a good good good ten million pounds of right? But whatever else is getting the signing. So yeah. Yeah. I I wish him the best. And if I was him just looking at what he is. And who he is. And he seems to have a good head on his shoulder, very calm individual, very focused individual get outta here and go get some money and take care of your family..

"Is there any long shot plays that you're looking at this week could be any position that you're thinking like, you know, what you not ready for this? Yeah. Gus Edwards longshot though is he a long shot from over one hundred yards rushing in two touchdowns. Really? Oh, yeah. The an Lamar Jackson not one rushing touchdown. Drop the mic. I think there's a good chance to Shawn Watson has the most rushing touchdowns for quarterback this week. I see that also. You know what the play offs? Here's the thing of the playoffs. I kind of like the running quarterbacks in the playoffs. I don't know if Lamar Jackson physcist Bill the scramblers right because in the in the rigorous season, they are preserving themselves. Maybe they're not going to go for the extra yard or the the touchdown dive. Because they don't wanna get hurt the quarterback, but in the play offs that completely goes out the window. You could see a Russell to Sean kind of like letting it loose when it terms of running the football this. We I can see a lot of like twenty to forty yard runs by quarterbacks to ski this wild card weekend. Okay. All right, cool. Yeah. For me. I think colts Texans is going to be the highest scoring game. I think I won't play. I want receivers in that game. So Hopkins Hilton though, that's gonna be the targeting for. And of course, passing in luck. Yeah. Watson there's a reason why they're the highest price players this week at their positions TY and de'andre. And then at quarterback, look and Watson, those are the four highest paid players. You know, a player speaking of the colts Texans game. That's interesting is KiKi q t he played against the colts in week four. And that was his breakout game eleven catches one hundred nine yards. Now he is questionable to play his hamstring injuries. Been just a thorn in his side all season long. He's missed so many games. But he's had some good games. And with Damaris Thomas now out KiKi cute t if he plays that name, by the way, QT if. He plays. He could be along. Shop plays only four thousand on traffickings. I know we just talked about how you don't like playing two receivers from the same team. But if you played de'andre, and q t you could probably guarantee yourself, you're going to get sixty to seventy five percent of all the catches from on Watson. Yeah. But I yeah. I would say that's a fair trade. But if he struggles than who knows what's gonna happen struggles, though, you have more money to spend on the go Zeke Elliott because it's only four thousand like he's really cheap cheaper than Dontrelle Inman Taylor. Gabriel. Mike Williams tire walk it like he's considerably cheaper than most of them. If you've I I just love the name. So give him on the name alone. Q. T how about any of the Dallas receivers other than Amari Cooper. Michael Beasley, maybe Colby's score touched on week seventeen. Didn't he? Which one is that Kobe's -ly? He did he scored the beautiful touch on the back of the end zone. So who knows he might keep the mental Roland Kobe's -ly? Michael Gallup, not not sure what about Philadelphia and Chicago each out we talked about that game. But in terms of Nelson or thirty eight hundred he's had three touchdowns as us two wings and Tron Jeffrey cannot forget about that. Either. But if you think that Philadelphia's gonna get completely shut out or shut down. I I didn't think that at all. Okay. No. I'm just saying if you do if someone does your own than it will be tough to play anybody about two or Gabriel or Anthony Miller on the bears. They're big play potential forty five hundred for Gabriel thirty nine hundred Anthony Miller. Yeah. That is a Todd. That's a tough one though to go onto really trust. You know? That's a that's a gamble. I think that's worth game on the others. All right. Let's take a break. We come back with pick our teams we do this every week. This time is for fifty five push-ups, of course, pay up on Mondays we do it. When we do our next podcast every every Monday and Friday like we always do. So fifty five pushes we have no salary cap. We can pick whoever we want. We just go back and forth. One position each will do that. We return..

"Did you see it like see what did you see me knockout Grady Jackson like it was e- probably had two touchdowns. One hundred yards receiving what he could. He couldn't care less about the stats that he put up. He knocked a nose tackle out. I mean, you know, head over feet over head first thing that hits the back of his helmet. And that's all he cared about. It was like it was like did you guys? See it like he was like a kid that wanted wanted dead. You early been the mantra football players. You know, joy said this earlier next man up is not an NBA term it to football term, you need a room. I mean, by the way, I can be a quarterback reason quarterbacks by offensive linemen gifts and watches and something like that. 'cause I'm ineffective if you don't block I need like LeBron doesn't need a lot. Balmy basket. Get out of the way. And I'm not blaming the. That's the sport of basketball from a wan football is it's a brotherhood. So, but here's the thing that interests me about this at what point did receivers that some receivers not all but some become so so self absorbed that like it's a dependent position every position NFL's dependent. Yeah. But no more than the wide receiver position where if ten guys aren't doing their job. You don't even sniffer ball. Why he wants to trade? Would you ever the two quarterbacks on this league that throw great deep balls? Russell Wilson big band. I mean this Tyler Lockett for the Seahawks. I swear he's not that good. But he is was Russell Wilson. Like if you had Russell Wilson or Big Ben, and you're a deep threat receiver, you never leave that organization though to me, those are the deep ball throwers in the NFL. But, but ultimately, you know, I look at the organization if you don't hold them accountable. They won't bend and they never have. And he's been this is not the first time, he's missed meetings or miss practices or. Been late two things. I mean, this is this is standard operating procedure for the guy. So if you're never going to hold them accountable at what point are you ever gonna fix your organization? Like you have to at some point. You have to have an adult. Right. And you have to say we don't this is not how we operate. And the only thing you can do for players. You can't find them money that monopoly money for crying out loud right to take away recess. And you say you're just not gonna play a you're you're letting your teammates down and until he comes to the realization that it takes all guys going in the same direction for him to have success. Then you know, what it's going to be much much the same as it's always been by the way. So the ravens play the chargers I like the chargers in this game. Because I think that the Lamar Jackson offense while it can work short term. I don't think it's an eight year offense where you have to sort of play with the lead have a great defense low scoring games. I they almost lost a Baker Mayfield. In Cleveland and make had three picks. So they had the better defense. They were at home Baker threw three picks Cleveland almost one John Harbaugh's name is all over the place for jobs. Right. And my belief is because publicly he saying he loves this team privately. John Harbaugh doesn't think this is sustainable am. I not. I don't think you're nuts now when they play the game this week. Well, I did one of their games couple of weeks ago. Right. And and I predicted that they would go into into L A and beat the chargers two weeks ago. A like watching them on film calling. Now, I've been involved in this league for thirty years twelve as a player eighteen is a analyst. I block for two thousand yard rusher. I have never seen the gaping holes that I have seen mardi morning week has taken an offense..
